An unexpectedly amazing Japanese restaurant in Brunei! The space is impressive, with plenty of parking and a spacious, minimalist interior that’s both modern and welcoming. You’ll also be able to watch the chef working on your order. Their ordering system is super convenient and user-friendly, making the whole process seamless. As for the food, I tried the bento, and it exceeded my expectations. The portions were generous, and every bite was absolutely delicious. Sadly, I couldn’t finish it all, but that just gives me more reason to come back soon!

Friends planning for a gathering and planned to eat Japanese cuisine, first thing in mind was Kaizen. I have heard about it for the past 1 year but didnt have the opportunity so finally today get to go la. Place was easy to find. Parking lots available to customers. Once entered the premises, we were warmly greeted by staffs. Service was very fast and prompt. Staff patiently answered all our queries. Decor got this feeling high class like that, very nice and good table setting. Being adventurous, i just order what i never order before or looks pretty in the menu. All the dishes arrived, all looks yummy and beautifully presented. Must take photo before eat. Not able to name the dishes due to my limited Japanese but all of them are delicious. Really really delicious. Instant regret why the past year never came to eat. Could have eaten more times here haha. Anyways, top notch place, best grade & quality food and highly recommended!

This sushi restaurant remains a solid choice for Japanese cuisine, even with a slight price hike post-COVID. The quality of the food has thankfully been consistent, showcasing fresh ingredients and authentic flavours. My go-to order is the Tori Teriyaki, with its perfectly grilled chicken and savory sauce, and the Tori Furai Cheese, which offers a delightful crunch with a creamy, cheesy top. While it’s not the cheapest option anymore, the satisfying meals make it worth revisiting.

In Brunei, one of the best options for lunch or dinner. Because it's a popular spot, it can get very busy. Booking a table later in the evening allows to avoid the crowd. We were a party of 3 and had no problem splitting the bill. Orders arrived when ready, but a bit randomly. I had wakame, unagi, chirashi and green tea ice cream and everything was served very fast, but one of my colleague ordered a set and it took a very long time. The spots by the river offer the best view. Kaizen Sushi also has private rooms. The only drawback is that they can't serve beer or sake, but it is Brunei, so no alcohol!

Good Japanese 🇯🇵fare in Brunei - never fails to disappoint. Menu is unique to this branch only. Tried the mentaiko pasta but was served cold but otherwise all other food was on point! Rice quality used here is the best I have tasted in Brunei. ⭐️

Pasar Pelbagai Barangan Gadong (Gadong Night Market) is a lively and authentic night market in Brunei, perfect for trying local street food. The variety is impressive — from grilled skewers and satay to banana fritters and colorful traditional sweets. Prices are very affordable, and the atmosphere is vibrant with locals and tourists alike. It's mostly cash only, so make sure to bring some bills. I just wish it had a bit more seating space to enjoy the food comfortably. Still, definitely worth a visit for a real taste of Brunei!

The area is split into 2 sections, the outdoor with small circular kiosks and the "market" with long aisles that occupy one of the warehouse like building. I prefer the market one as it's more traditional while the outdoor are more like cafes style. I think about 20-25% of the space are without tenant. Now to the food, mostly are good especially the ones with lots of customer. Tried the keropok lekor from dapur aisyah is better. The 1$ huge drink which i only can finish 1/2 of it. Bought another nasi katok and top it with rendang and bitter gourd. Wanted to buy jengkol but remember i stayed at a hotel. Great place to get local food. The closer it is to dinner time the more crowded the market is. (It peaked around 18.00-19.00)

A market offering a wide selection of affordable and clean food and drinks. We tried the nasi katok kambing (B$3) which was tasty along with banana fritters (B$1), fried spring rolls (B$1) and unsweetened watermelon juice (B$1). The place is well maintained with wash basins available for handwashing.

My first time visit the Gadong Night Market. Great atmosphere, very affordable and variety of food and snacks! Highly recommended when you visit Brunei!

There are 2 main rows of food at night. One row is more happening with ready to eat food while the another row is more quiet which mainly sells fruits. I enjoyed their grilled mackerel from stall 7. Very meaty, fresh and inexpensive;))) Kueh was decent but I enjoyed the fish alot more. What's also very notable is there is alot of fried items and alot of nasi katok

In (almost) every country, there is always that one restaurant that consists of dishes defining the local cuisine. Some of these restaurants are good, some mediocre, some bad. Aminah Arif is a staple household name in Brunei known for their ambuyat set. There are several of its branches scattered across Brunei. I went to their Batu Bersurat branch for lunch to simply have ambuyat and other dishes on the side. I think it’s one of their spacious branches. On each table, there is a buzzer to press to call for service. The menu is only in Malay language. No details attached to each dish. Some dishes have pictures, but not all. There is a “breakfast menu” (which seems to be more so an extended “tea time” - 7am-5pm) including nasi lemak (various types), kelps, pulut pang gang, karipap, cucur. They also have set for chicken and rice, add ons, rice, noodles, chicken, beef, vegetables, fish, prawns, soup, rojak, drinks. Their ambuyat menu is based on the size of small or medium (or more so how many people want to have it). Comes with a choice of fish, vegetables, sambal, sauce. There is a simple visual of how this ambuyat set looks like. As I don’t eat meat, I had the pucuk ubi as a vegetable option which was cooked in coconut milk. I thought it was just ok, but I find it was just watery. Apart from the ambuyat, I ordered mee goreng kuey teow biasa (fried noodles kuey teow plain). I requested for my noodles to be cooked without meat and eggs. Even though there is another dish that specifies chicken, somehow they still cooked my noodles with chicken! I asked them to cooked me another dish following my order. The noodles were quite oily. The restaurant has seating available for groups up to 8-10 people. There were two private rooms available (for private dining) and surau (prayer space). Service was low effort and lazy. Only one person seemed to be friendly and did try to bring customer service, but the rest lacked. There was apparently free drinking water available, but when I dined there it wasn’t available. There is a ramp for accessibility access to the restaurant (parking space and entrance).

When I went there, the service was very slowwww. I asked the waiter they said they’re understaffed on that day. Manager should be responsible for that. So many customers waited for their foods. We waited for almost 2 hours. Otherwise, foods are delicious with decent price

The portion of Ambuyat for 2 pax was generous — even tho the side dishes now limited— but the food presentation was traditional and appetizing. The ambuyat had the right sticky texture and paired beautifully with a variety of flavorful side dishes like ikan goreng, ulam, sambal, and tempoyak. The tempoyak, giving every bite a burst of Bruneian flavor. The service here was warm and friendly though it will take time for the food to arrive. The atmosphere is clean. Prices are reasonable for the portion and quality.

I tried the famous ambuyat set (B$12, good for two) here. It was okay-ish for the experience. Ambuyat is made from sago flour and the dip that came with it was a durian-based sauce which I found a bit strange. The set also included some fried fish, bean sprouts and a salad of cucumber and carrots. We ordered a beef dish on the side (B$5). The teh special tasted like regular teh ice and just a bit sweeter. Nothing special.

It was my first time in Bandar Seri Begawan, so it’s hard to judge the food as I was trying it for the first time. However, Aminah Arif Restaurant seems to be loved by the locals as it was pretty busy during the lunch. We had their ambuyat with fish, and ayam penyet. Ambuyat was an interesting experience, I liked its taste with tempoyak. However, the fish was not nice to me. It had a very strong taste (I’m not a fan of fish in general). The Ayam penyet looked nice, but maybe a bit too dry. Loved their drink - puspa - which resembles to ABC ais. This place is good to try ambuyat. Very well priced and delicious food.

Aminah Arif Restaurant in Batu Bersurat is a delightful spot for ambuyat enthusiasts like myself. Their ambuyat is exceptional, making it a must-try for anyone craving this traditional Bruneian dish.

Delicious Chinese food. Great place to have business lunch, family gathering or birthdays. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Service was quick. There is a variety of Chinese dishes to choose from. Heres what I recommend: COCONUT CURRY PRAWN. Served in a coconut, this curry prawn is very fragrant, sweet and savory with the use of large fresh prawns. A must try dish in I-Lotus. THAI STYLE FISH IN LIME SAUCE. Select the fish of your choice (recommended red snapper). This dish was super refreshing, a little bit spicy. Something different that you won’t normally order but now will get you addicted. HOT AND SOUR SOUP. Great way to start up your appetite with a spicy and sour soup. Rich flavours and definitely spicy. Theres chili seeds which is a little bit off putting when drinking the soup. HOMEMADE TOFU. The homemade tofu drenched in mushroom and chicken minced is a classic must order tofu dish. The tofu has a smokey taste from being fried, the sauce was really thick and rich. YAM BASKET. Crispy thick yam served with your choice of dish in the centre. In our case we ordered scallop. Scallop was fresh and sweet. Overall, had a pleasant dinner with the family celebrating mums birthday. Waiters and waitresses immediately cleared the table. Then served the cake with a special birthday song after the meal (though waiting for the cake took a little bit too long. Understandable as everyone is busy). Really memorable dinner.

Despite the Chinese population in Brunei, most places here that serve Chinese cuisines are just not there yet with the taste. This restaurant is another victim of pleasing the local (majority) palate, erasing the essence of flavours. I had to request adaptions to my dishes (garlic fried rice and Sichuan beancurd). The beancurd was just too brothy, a bit salty and just really lacked balance taste. The garlic fried rice was ok. The restaurant is good for accommodating to big group dinners/lunch due to ample space and seating.

I Lotus is one of the best buffet restaurant in Brunei. Great ambiences and lovely atmosphere. Foods are tasty and lots of varieties espeacially SEAFOOD!!! Yummy!!!

Tryed for business lunch. Chinese restaurant with very Wide menu that satisfy every request. Only point: Time of service are relaxed. Be sure to have a ought time. Dishes tasted good but nothing special. Generous Portion. Atmosphere informal. Kind staff.

⭐ I Lotus Restaurant — A Mixed Experience for Solo & Muslim Diners I decided to try I Lotus Restaurant despite having plenty of local options nearby, simply out of curiosity. Upon arrival, I was directed to sit at the back of the dining area, even though there were several unoccupied tables at the front. When I asked the waitress, Ayu, why, she said it was "because you’re one person." I expressed that it didn’t feel nice to be placed at the back just for dining alone—after all, I’m still a paying customer. I eventually insisted on sitting at one of the corner tables at the front, which they allowed. At the time, there was a large Muslim family celebrating birthdays in a private room and another table of four women (including one hijabi) nearby. I ordered the Lotus Leaf Fried Rice, Deep Fried Prawns with Mango Salad, and a pot of Chinese tea. Interestingly, the waiter taking my order was unaware that the prawns with mango salad were a combined item, insisting they were separate until I pointed it out in the menu. Later, Ayu informed me that the dish was unavailable, so I settled for Deep Fried Prawns in Yam instead. The portion was generous, but the taste didn’t quite meet my expectations—especially for a restaurant that presents itself as Chinese fine dining. Now, onto a concern that may matter to Muslim diners: I learned that the restaurant is not halal-certified, although they claim not to use pork or lard. However, the restaurant clearly caters to large events, including Chinese weddings. There’s a beautiful buffet-style outdoor area and another event space upstairs, which seem to serve a broader, non-Muslim clientele. This raises some questions: Are pork and lard used for these events? If so, are they prepared in the same kitchen, using the same utensils and staff? How consistent is the claim of “no pork and no lard” when such exceptions may exist for private functions? As a Muslim diner, this gives me pause. I would appreciate hearing from others—especially if you’ve dined here or know more about their kitchen practices. I am curious if any Muslim diners have asked about this before? Let’s pray that the year of the OX will be a much ‘healthier’ year for mankind. 🧧 Kiong Hee Huat Chai 🧧 ———————————————————————— Journey to the location is a bit confusing especially while driving at night and the road are pretty narrow with some segment quite steep - drive slowly. Parking area is quiet spacious but dark if dining in the evening. Watch your steps especially ladies with high heels. The food are quite ordinary... nothing really sticks out. The price lends toward the pricey ends. Decor and atmosphere is not too bad when dining in the main building. The extension part is ... an extension. There is a function room on the second floor. A lift is available for those who needs it but need to request and turned on first.

Love all the foods here. Saat Rang satisfied my cravings. Masala Tea is very flavourful. Gobi Manchurian a bit dry but very tasty in flavour, full of spices. Would give 4/5 for the food here.

My favourite pakistani restaurant. Dont miss thier tender lamb Biryani, special nan is light & fluffy with lots of seeds sprinkle on top. I love the taste of the herbs in mix vegetable. I have tried many other dishes and always tasty. Notice the food served at night is different and not as good as in the day. Uncle chef is the reason..he does the day shift.

Had the chicken biriyani and the Tandoori. No complain on the food. Very tasty and will visit again.

Had a gathering there and appreciated the openness and helpfulness of staff in allowing us to chg the seating arrangement . They were attentive to to our orders n needs. We brought 2 cakes there to celebrate birthdays of everyone. Enjoyed the curries and everyone had a wonderful time. Would recommend for big group gatherings.

This branch is more consistent than the Delima branch. More consistent in terms of service and quality of food. I found the Delima staff to be a bit inattentive at times. Food is great here and rivals with Tandoor restaurant. Excellent Pakistani food with decent pricing. A lot of vegetarian options here. Naan 🫓 is well made and delicious. Parking can be a bit difficult especially during pay day, you may have to make several rounds. I recommend their mandhi dishes, naan and skewers/meat selection. They make a nice gobi manchurian.

To Management of Seri Damai Restaurant…Restaurant open at 8am..but all workers also came at 8am..food waiting for 30minutes…workers should come 1hour before restaurant open to prepare all the food so customer not waiting too long..please improve..thankyou

Brunei's most popular chicken rice shop is a beloved part of locals' childhood and almost a national meal for a quick lunch or dinner. The secret to enjoying chicken rice is to ask for a small bowl of laksa soup or sauce, pour it over your chicken rice, and add some chili sauce!

Famous for its chicken rice but also the fried noodles! Budget meal, especially fried keoy tiaw is just 👍👍(just over $2, where else can you get that cheap in Kiulap area😬)?

My Bruneian cousin recommended I try this place. An unassuming restaurant with an air conditioned second floor. The chilli sauce for chicken rice here is made fresh daily and refreshingly delicious. I saw them replace the jar after each seating. So good in fact that I ordered an extra plain rice just to have sauce on rice. If only they could find a way to package this and sell it but I have a feeling it taste so delicious because it is so fresh with none or minimal preserves. The cost was so reasonable compared to back home in Canada...I simply will say this place makes me envious and wish I could bring it back home with me. My apologies for the photos, the ones taken from cellphone simply do not do this place justice. Please reference other reviews for instagram worthy photos. In glancing at some of the mediocre reviews of the place, each reviewer is entitled to their own opinion but it is the opinion of this reviewer that some of those reviews could have been made in error by neglecting to have the sauce with their chicken rice. For those that say this used to be better, I am jealous that it could have tasted even better but I am satisfied with what I received.

Brunei most famous chicken rice, must try with their own chilli sauce. Still as good as 40+ years ago when started eating in their Seri old shop, was $3 then, now $3.50 due to inflation but still cheap meal. Also very good beef soup, laksa & kolo mee, highly recommened

There was one (P) staff who took my ordered, toss my order with bad attitude. I know your boss wasn't there so you can do anything and act like a boss and can show "angry" face to customers. I ain't going there anymore.

Good food for a very reasonable price. We tried the Laksa ($2.5) and it was very satisfying. They said that their best seller is the roasted chicken, however, we were not able to try it because none was left.

ahhh my meal here was so good! we had the $3ish steamed chicken rice (can choose boneless, isi, etc.) and i really enjoyed how fragrant the rice is. can add as much chilli sauce to your liking. the service was quick even though a lot of the tables were occupied. thien thien is definitely a must-visit when you’re in brunei :)

Food was simple and tastes okay. It was not super delicious as hyped on YouTube. Bread was freshly made. Service was efficient. The place was air-conditioned. Overall, this is more of an ordinary kopitiam for light snacks. If you don't like noisy place, don't come here.

Chop Jing Chew is a classic Brunei spot with undeniable charm, especially when it comes to their signature bread. The toasted bread with a generous slice of butter and kaya spread is easily the highlight—simple, traditional, and incredibly satisfying. It’s the kind of flavour that keeps people coming back for decades. I also tried the kolo mee, and it did not disappoint. The noodles were springy, and the portion came with a very good amount of chicken topping, making it hearty and worth the price. However, the only drawback is the lack of cleanliness, which affects the overall experience. The food is great, but a bit more attention to cleanliness would elevate the place even further. Still, for the taste and heritage alone, Chop Jing Chew deserves a solid 4 stars. The flavours are memorable, and the bread and kolo mee are absolutely worth trying.

Riding all the way from miri to here to have this !!! Speacifically loves the roti kahwin kacang !!! You will love it regardless if you like peanut butter or not ~ Mee goreng udang recommended by next table local person .we finished it in no timeeee . Tyvm for the great food, love it so much

Enjoyed their soft roti kuning khawin. For some reason, their Kaya is orange colour. I have a certain biases towards soft and fluffy bread. It was just simple and comforting for me. I guess this place depends on which bread you choose and your expectations. The ayam curry puff was just alright. Can't particularly taste the chicken portion Generally a decent brekkie place since placing order and receiving food were relatively prompt for us;)))

One of the most famous restaurants here in Brunei and for good reason The main attractions here are the buns which are freshly baked every day and they are absolutely delicious The kuey teow I tried is decent but there are definitely other restaurants that have better kuey teow The ice lemon tea is really good; the tea has a very strong taste This restaurant is almost always packed all of the time to where you will have to wait sometimes for an empty table The staff inside are always busy hustling between the kitchen and table but they will get your order correct Nothing else to say except, get yourself to this restaurant if you've never been here

The restaurant is spacious inside, great seating and service👍 I ordered a wet aged sirloin steak, you can choose 2 sides and a sauce. I was feeling healthy 😅 so I chose mixed veg and homemade mashed potatoes🥦🥕🥔with mushroom sauce 🍄 It was good 👌 Had a Cremè Brulee for dessert it was delicious 😋 They are pricey tho but I feel that the portions are just right. If you have a 'good' appetite 😉or are very hungry, then you will probably need to order a starter... 😅 feels sometimes If you plan to go with the family, I recommend you call and book a table just in case.

this is my second time going to charcoal and im really disappointed that it wasnt as satisfying as my first. starting with the service my family and i didnt feel welcomed at all. when we ordered and asked about their dishes/drinks, at one moment the waitress scoffed. it genuinely felt like we were looked down the entire time. had to ask for a small change of the order and the waitress gave us attitude. i wasnt fully bothered as i was having high expectations for the food - but was proven wrong. i asked for a medium rare steak however the meat was so hard to cut through. literally used my will power for one slice💔 the chicken was dry. but the lamb sufficed i guess. oh and i forgot to add on that the vegetables werent boiled enough. atmosphere was okay, however the place looked run-down and the menu was really worn out. my family and i were really disappointed from the night. i really hope for improvements in the future. especially with the staff, be nice with your newcomers please?

Charcoal is definitely a rarity for us since it's on the far side of the "economic feasibility" ranking for restaurants in Brunei so we had high hopes and expectations for our first time dining here To be honest? It was a pretty good time but not mind-blowingly good that we're gonna make this restaurant a monthly or yearly visit The steak & fries were more like "STEAK & fries" It's clear they put 90% of the effort on the steak and not so much for the fries The drinks were more expensive than other restaurants but I can't really say they're better The atmosphere is cool though, can't say too many restaurants can emulate the style and designs All in all? A good but not amazing 7/10

The food is always good here. Good steaks and ribs. I just had Cheese burger tray bake. It's a pretty unique burger. I loved that I had to eat it with a knife and fork. The sauce keeps the burger together. The burger beef patty was well seasoned, the cheese and jalapeño really added a bit of heat. The onion rings were also surprisingly crispy and big. I will definitely try this again next time I go.

Most popular and one of the best steak & ribs in town, great ambient restaurant and service mostly good, can be slow if crowded and understaffed. They have set lunch promo which changes every month starting from $7.90 which is great value and comes with free sparkling drink or coffee/tea. Really like their favourful mushroom soup. They also serves yummy crispy wanton skin wrap for snacks, free while you wait for your steak to grill. Highly recommended to get your steak and ribs fix.

Beef short ribs are soft and tender, never disappointed. My daughter loves the creamy mac and cheese. Tenderloin steak is amazing with medium rare doneness.

Great food, drinks and amazing service! I recommend getting the DRY AGRD STEAKS, CHEESE BURGER TRAY BAKE, LAMB RACKS and PESTO PASTA. For appetizers I also recommend the SALMON BRUSCHETTA and ONION RINGS. They have a variety of drinks and they're all tasty! It's a great restaurant for all occasions wether to just eat or have a celebration with family and friends. Food is great for the price.

The food here is excellent. I enjoy dining in this cafe especially for their cakes. Though price is on the higher end, they have lunch deals ($16) where you can order soup, mains, coffee or tea and desserts. For starters, the mushroom soup definitely tastes homemade as it was creamy and filled with mushrooms. I've also tried the pumpkin soup which was super creamy and just heavenly. For mains, prawn pesto pasta was delicious. Quite a generous amount of prawns and pasta. Roasted chicken grain bowl was amazing and definitely a large amount. As for the salmon donut and crab meat on the toast, they were decent. For desserts, I highly recommend the pancake souffle. Soft, creamy and not too sweet. Though my favorite must be the key lime tart (recommended for those who love sour desserts). I also tried the french opera, chocolate peanut butter cake which were really good! Depending on who is on shift, the customer service can be very excellent while some may be decent as they might not be as attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was amazing and I will definitely come back again.

Had dinner here for a birthday celebration and they were able to accommodate a large group reservation. It had a very nice and beautiful atmosphere for dinner and the 3 course meal was pretty decent. The coffee was good and would recommend to give this place another visit during lunch time .

The ambience was, i believe, as good as it could get in the town. Stylish, classy and comfy. On the other side, the coffee and food was okay. The blue prawns were amazing in freshness and texture, but pesto sauce was too mild (guess it’s not the normal pesto recipe using basil/cilantro). The cake looked stellar but there’s certainly a good room for improvement in term of textures and flavours.

Loved the decor and ambience. Music was nice and chilled - 90's-style. Had the Chicken Karage, Salted Caramel Eclair and New Orleans Cold Brew -- All so good! Would love to come here again to try more dishes.. the other coffees and a few all-day breakfasts.

Went there for lunch. Love their pumpkin coconut soup and the lamb dish. My classic burger and fries chicken was decent. Don't really like the prawn pasta. It's too oily for my taste. The price here is on the upper side.

One of the more higher end cafes in Brunei. The food is good and consistent . I am fond of the Steak grains bowl, it’s healthy and filling. Ambiance is great and staff are attentive. Food doesn’t take too long either. They should slightly expand their menu as I find it is still quite limited and unchanged. Their key lime pie is delicious and plated nicely if you dine in. Parking isn’t too much of a problem but during pay day parking can be notoriously difficult in this area.

This would be a go to place for me now in Brunei. It used to be Soriso for me but its a far cry from what they were before. However, Alter Ego makes me excited now to come back. Being a non Bruneian, I just need to adjust to the hours here where F&B outlets closes earlier that what I am used to. However, food is great. Staff are awesome. Atmosphere is good.

I've been here few times in the past. It's near my home. But I get a bit dissuaded not to return due to lack of cleanliness. The tables are sticky, perhaps adding a glass top on tables will give it more hygienic maintenance. Also, cleaning the surrounding will keep flies & stench smell at bay, like removing nearby rotting tree leaves. They do have an enclosed air-conditioned area but same it has a bad smell and sticky tables and the glass panel are not cleaned well. And the corners looks dirty. However, good point, the meals itself are good. Hot & fresh sea food. Service people need to love their job because I can see a hint of dismay if they see customers coming in.

Among the few Thai restaurants I enjoy eating in. The restaurant isn’t very large but can accommodate for around 30 at a time. The staffs were friendly and depending on how busy it is, service can be very fast or a little slow. The food was good but in our recent visit, seemed like quality went down. Heres what we ordered: PLA THOD GROR RAAD PRIK. Deep fried fish with three flavour chili paste. The most enjoyable dish during our dinner because of the sauce. It was sweet, salty and a bit sour. The fish fillet was clean tasting but not crispy. HOR MOK MA PROW AON. Steamed curry seafood in coconut. They didn’t have a coconut shell to display the dish in. This dish is not spicy, a bit sweet and very rich and creamy from the santan. There were a few pieces of prawns but mostly small cuts of chewy squid. We enjoyed this dish a lot. GAI HOR BAI TOEY. Chicken wrapped in pandan leaves. The chicken had a strong pandan aroma but was incredibly dry and hard. It was not enjoyable. CRISPY CALAMARI. Very crispy and light battered squid. Squid was very chewy this time but in terms of taste was still pretty good. POH PIA TOD. Thai spring rolls were pretty good with a generous amount of glass noodles. PAD PRIK HANG MED MAH MUANG. Stir fried cashew nuts, with seafood/chicken/beef dried chilli, onion and shallots with oyster sauce. A pretty good dish but lacked a bit of flavour (probably fish sauce). PAD KRAPRAO KAI YEOW MA. Stir fried special chilli paste with fresh basil, chicken/beef/seafood and deep fried century egg. Because the century egg aa deep fried, the rich fatty flavour and gooey texture of the egg was lost. The basil was also not aromatic and didn’t give the dish the intended taste. This is my go to dish to order in any Thai restaurant but here did not do it justice. I have mixed feelings about the restaurant due to our recent visit. However, it is still a decent Thai restaurant if you ordered the foods that I have recommended.

A tad bit too pricey for my taste. They do have a spectacular view on the seaside which is kind of a plus, and quite an advancement that they used modern contraptions on taking orders but I'm just a little bit too disappointed with how it took so long for my aunt's food to arrive. I ate there with my family (not a small number) and we all ordered and finished our food and later had to wait a little longer for her to finish because her food came in last. And ironically, was the simplest dish on the menu - fried noodles! I loved the ambience of the place and the workers were friendly and I'd give it to them because I noticed that there was only one chef working at the time - they should actually hire more cooks. I ordered the American fried rice and was a bit disappointed with it because it didn't look like it was on the picture displayed on the menu (false advertising). But the hot chocolate was terrific. Great place, but there's still room for improvements.

Good food if you are a Thai food lover. This restaurant is among the few which has received rating of A. Options are available for both veg and non veg lovers. They have lots of option be it on starters, soup, main course or drinks and desert lovers. It is among the few if I talk about the clean and hygienic restaurants in Brunei

After a horrific drive through semi- developed roads I reached the restaurant. I came with high expectations but I left with a bitter taste. The place was infested with flies, beach near it full of rubbish. I couldn't enjoy my food. I do not recommend.Up your game, clean the beach, get rid of the flies.

Found this place on Google maps when planning my Brunei itinerary. Had the chance to visit yesterday. It definitely lived up to expectations. I ordered a Watermelon juice and Audrey's Big Brekkie (I believe that's what it was called). The juice was fresh, tasted natural (not overly sweet) & refreshing. The breakfast dish was also very nice & good portion size. I also ordered a slice of Lotus cheesecake to go - delicious. The interior is nicely decorated & has a relaxing atmosphere / vibe. The staff were also very welcoming & polite. Thanks for the great service. Would recommend 👍🏼

A disappointing brunch 😢 the food is very pricy and overall very average. While the portions are big, the flavour and quality of the food just isn’t there. Everything is just “fine” 😞 the cinnamon bun latte and houjicha were very tasty so maybe if you come here skip out on the food 🍲 and just get some drinks 🥤.

Pricey but the food is good with big portions. Staff are friendly and attentive. The highlight is the burnt cheesecake which is amazingly good. It's rich and oozingly creamy. I would go back just for the cake.

visited yesterday and ordered the nasi lemak chicken ($6.90) which unfortunately was a ‘miss’ for me. it was plated beautifully, the sambal was decent and the egg was perfect but the chicken pieces were too too dry and the anchovies were much saltier than normal. however, the bibimbowl ($13.90) and char siu chicken ($9.90) looked nice and my friends enjoyed them. i like the tea here though! the osmanthus sencha was light and had a sweet aroma :) the cafe was quiet, plenty of seats were available at around 2-3pm tuesday. overall would recommend visiting, but avoid the nasi lemak.

Absolutely in love with the cakes! The warm chocolate cake with ice cream was absolutely divine! It was warm and so rich with chocolate sauce and really went well with the light vanilla ice cream. The other cakes I tried were the yam and carrot cakes which were also really good. The yam cake was really light and refreshing while the carrot cake was crumbly and creamy. We also tried the chicken quesadilla which was really delicious! Though quite pricey, it is one of the tastiest quesadillas I’ve tried in Brunei. The chicken was soft and flavourful, filled with cheese, and perfectly toasted tortillas. A generous amount of lettuce and a sour cream to balance the oiliness. The coffees were also really nicely made. Not too overpowering and just the right sweetness. Will come back here again for the food and more cakes. It was a cute and cozy cafe with pretty decors. The staffs were super friendly and service was quick.

Great atmosphere for dining. Friendly service staff, contrary to earlier reviews on poor service rendered. Had a salmon tomato soup and a beef gnocchi bowl. Were wonderful! Even had a mural wall with Audrey Hepburn theme.

Great little Cafe tucked away in Kiulap! Ordered the salted egg chicken with rice and French toast along with iced mocha and Iced lemon tea. Food is decent but can be improved upon. Will visit again to try the desserts. Overall good experience and friendly service. Can be packed during peak times. Best to come during the afternoon (2-4pm).

It was our first time dining here with my family for a celebration, and we sat outdoors. The food was fine overall, except for the salad served as a side dish with our main course, which was dry and raw since it came without any dressing. We had to request some dressing separately.

Really happy with this restaurant. If you love steak, go for this restaurant. The service was top-notch, greeted instantly by all of the staff. Food was overall tasty and satisfactory. End the meal with some dessert - a beautiful to finish the dinner with!!

Came here for late lunch. The restaurant space requires going upstairs via the external staircase. Has small indoor and outdoor space. Despite its name, ‘jazz’, there was barely any jazz music being played. Mostly covers of mainstream music. On to the food: I ordered a bucket of chips to share, fresh tomatoes bruschetta and watermelon juice. Very limited vegetarian options and little to none vegan options. The food was just ok but didn’t leave me wanting to consider this is the ‘must’ place to visit and recommend to others. Maybe if you want steak. Staff were nice and friendly.

Had dinner with friends and ordered our favorite steaks. Didn’t disappoint us. Our plates were very clean after the meal. The service was superb and desserts though limited were delicious. The rack of lamb was tender but not so generous. The sauces were yummy. My friend had the blue cheese soup and beef ribs which were delicious he said…we also had the crispy calamari… The prices are on the high side but excellent for special occasions. Restaurant space is limited but cozy..

I think the food was really delicious, I had the Barramundi with grilled prawns and it was delicious! Prices are restaurant standard so be mindful. Definitely recommend!

Halal western restaurant, very tender grass fed ribeye steak grilled to perfection, with generous portion of mash potato. Also like their side dish, very fresh squid calamari, and mushroom soup served hot. Highly recommended

Had a pleasant time here. Food is good, place is clean and plenty of cakes to choose from. Limited menu but I'm sure it's better to be master of some rather than jack of all trades. However when we came here the staff was arguing and scolding her colleagues, really makes it awkward for us to dine in peace. Perhaps leave your disagreements behind closed doors?

Tried the fruit flan dessert — so good! 🍓🍍 The fruits were fresh, the cream was light, and the base was perfectly soft. A sweet treat that’s as pretty as it tastes!

Ordered a breakfast toast . Toast with butter and kaya spread ,not bad .acceptable . But not the thin toast as I expected . eggs (half boiled) served after i finished the toast 😅. Ordered a pandan Nasi Lemak , Nice plating , the rice was flavorful , sambal good but abit salty , overall not bad .but I don’t hv the feeling to come back for more .😅

Food used to be better when it was just a small cafe at the corner. Now the place is divided into 2, bakery and dining area. The food was cooked from the bakery area and they had to bring over from outside (covered) into the dining area. The chocolate cake and takoyaki was pretty nice! Rich, dark chocolate and takoyaki was a bargain ($3.50 for 8pcs) Sadly, won't be going back for their main dish.

My nephew has ordered a fresh fruits cake for my mom's 90th birthday. Fruits cake was fresh and yummy. A bit pricey but well worth it. Staff there were lovely.

the cashier is so friendly and funny, we laugh a lot hear one of them singing with different language.very talented, so positive vibe and atmosphere, the food that i had that time was good, i tried the spicy spaghetti,its unique and tasty, but as for my personal i would love to be more spicier maybe i just have to add on my own chilli :'). overall i like it here i might come here again even though there is no flight to catch on. just for relaxing and chill with my friends and family and for suggestion,can u extend a bit more of the roof in front, so if its heavy rain its easy to enter the store.

I transit and consider to visitJollibee because I can't have it in my country, so I immigrant and visit here once. Nasi Lemak is good, but the small fried fish is quite too salty for me. Cheesy french fries is tasty.

Located on the Arrival floor just after the building main exit. Cheaper options within the Airport Complex. Jollibee is very popular in Brunei. Their key product line is fried chicken. You have the normal or the spicy chicken. I personally can’t handle the spicy chicken. They have burgers too - beef and chicken. The environment is clean and reasonably spacious.

Good place to have fried chicken. Standard like any other Jollibee. Newly opened in airport as earlier only KFC and Burger King outlets were there. Clean but not luxuriously spacious. Sometimes it get a bit difficult to get a seat at this place. Other than that food and service is good.

Why is the rice always finish when they closes at 10:30pm but finish at 8:30pm...

My friends told us to only order 1 piece of prata no matter what. When it came, the size was HUGE 😂 Its super crispy too, especially the kosong. The pulut & rendang was delicious!!! Free hot and cold water served there too. Staff is friendly as well.

The roti paratha , or the canai is different from many shop, it has distinct texture and taste. The size of the paratha is adequate for 1 person. The curry is santan based with no filling/meat. Consider getting rendang or other if ypu crave for meat. The pisang version is nice to try if you are a fan of sweet in your breakfast. Place tends to attract crowd, waiting might be necessary during paydays. The toated bread on the other hand not lile the picture, small. The egg set, the egg was nicely boiled. Ordered a signature chicken curry mee. The photo in the menu was very misleading. Firstly the staff wrongly keyed in my order, they served a chicken curry with rice. When i told it was wrong, they just exchanged the rice with a bowl of noodle and asked me to mix with the curry. The taste was ok but this is not “curry mee” as how it’s supposed to be like the one in the photo. Its ingredients were only noodle, curry, chicken and potato. There’s no vege or tofu as how it’s supposed to be.. really frusterating.. i always look up to this restaurant. Hope they can make a change.

Very good Sushi for Bander Seri Begawan. I was on a 3 month assignment here and basically lived off their Sushi for the entire time. The Shrimp Salad and Spicy Maguro rolls were always my go to. Generally I just ordered in, so no pics of dining on site.

Walked past while I was strolling along the river. Didn't make a reservation but came back at 6pm sharp and was given a table in a quiet corner. The menu is extremely extensive. The food was good, atmosphere was comfortable, service was attentive. Feels like I found a gem in Brunei!

Probably the best affordable sushi place in BSB. The place is perfectly situated next to scenic river with a fantastic view diffused by bamboo plants outside the window. The interior is Zen inspired with beautifully crafted entrance that felt peaceful and inviting. Tried a few dishes and generally satisfied with the freshness and quality. The price is very reasonable for the quality, ambience and the good service. I recommend this place for work and pleasure.

Good location for the sushi restaurant. Located right on the river. Must make reservation in advance. Most sashimi was out so very limited. Staffs weren’t that friendly, could be better.

I was staying at the Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam. The restaurant is located in the hotel. It was highly recommended and the reviews looked promising so I went on my last evening in Brunei. Elegant restaurant but you don't need to dress up at all. Nice atmosphere. Only a small number of tables that were quickly filled up. I enjoyed the complimentary trio of appetizers to start. As a solo diner, it was easier for me to go for a one plate dish. I went with one of the contemporary mains. I had the mixed seafood curry which consisted of mussels, prawns, clams, served with mini garlic naan. For dessert I had the kulfi. An Indian version of ice cream, saffron, condensed milk, candid strawberry. The meal was absolutely divine. Beautiful presentation. Not too spicy, perfectly balanced and every mouthful was a delight. The kulfi was lovely too. Very refreshing. If you are with others, definitely order a variety and share so you can try more dishes. Very reasonably priced too. Service was attentive and the waiter was very friendly. There was only one waiter who did well to manage all the guests. Lovely dining experience. Full credit to the chefs Mukesh, Amit and Munish.

I don't remember dining here on previous trips, but glad to do so this time! The ambience feels very peaceful, no noise and good to enjoy their food. Order several dishes on seperate dinners and all were good! The briyani was fragrant and came really hot -- Triyana who served us was polite and professional, ensuring we dont get scalded by the hot pot and also brought us extra dips as enquired. Mango Lassi was nice, with just right sweetness. On one of the visit, the chef came ans check on us, how was the food. Really pleasant experience. Happy to have tried during my stay!

Huge selection to dine. Staff is really attentive and helpful to provide recommendation. Great ambience for a date night. Had Riwaz Kadai Special and Kerala Chili Garlic Prawns. Both were delightful. Open from 6.30PM and closed at 10.00PM. Closed on Monday and Public Holiday.

This is probably one of the most presentational place in Brunei. As in if you want to impress your date, or just to have conversation piece as a foodie, you can’t go wrong here. The most obvious thing about this place is the presentation, it feels like everything prepared to have the best possible display, as in it’s almost all picture perfect. For the taste, it’s lighter than most other places, which is nice for a change because you can actually savor the aroma and flavor, but not so much that it overloaded your taste buds like other typical Indian restaurants. Also there are many dishes on the menu that’s not run of the mill items. Overall, we really enjoyed this unique experience that can’t get elsewhere and we only wish to know this place earlier for our short trip here.

Probably the best Filet Mignon I was able to find in Bander Seri Begawan. Nice atmosphere, wouldn’t call it fine dining but given the available options in Bander Seri, it gets it done.

Indian restaurant within the Radisson Hotel in Brunei. It is a good option for Indian food while travelling to Brunei - with decent vegetarian options. Taste was good.

Amazingly delicious food. I had Kerala prawns as a starter - great mix of spices. My Aachari fish curry was superb. Very attentive and swift service, very friendly atmosphere. We were attended by Deepak, Myrsan and Fiqah. Very good experience, would be back.

Free usage of swimming pool for billing above $10 at the resto. Tried their chicken satay. The meat was tender and thick. But the peanut sauce portion was too small. Signed up as a member for 10% off the bill. Would love to come back to try other food in their menu.

This restaurant’s breakfast is below par compared to other Radisson’s we have stayed at. The scrambled eggs are very dry and have been left to dry out and not changed. The garlic bread stale. The chicken sausages are pretty low quality. The nuts were stale and not crunchy. The fried chicken was too salty and dry. The roti prata, was not right, even prata from a freezer would taste better. Breakfast food in general here is not restocked either. The fruits station was almost empty. The sausages were all gone. Even the serving spoons are a messed and mixed up with various dishes. The staff did not come to take away our plates the 90 minutes we were there. And the restaurant wasn’t even half full. My suggestion is that reduce the number of dishes on offer but improve the freshness and quality of it. It feels like I am being served leftovers.

There were only a couple of other tables occupied during my visit so the atmosphere was perhaps a little lacking but otherwise it’s a nice modern setting with interesting views over the hotel’s indoor pool. The menu has a decent enough range and the prices reasonable given the location. I did ask for both the starter and main to be served together (as a side dish) but unfortunately this seemed to be forgotten. The spring rolls were however delicious and with six was sizeable side dish, along with two dips. The nasi goreng wasn’t quite as impressive, with loads of crackers but only two pieces of chicken, plus the broken egg didn’t do much for the presentation. It was tasty and hot though. The most annoying thing about the whole meal was the flies, constantly buzzing around the table and a small delay in the staff collecting the starter plate only made the situation worse. Hopefully that was a one off and it’s worth bearing in mind for a smart yet casual meal on this side of the city.

I was staying at the Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam and this restaurant is located inside it. I went twice for dinner during my stay. Service is good. Staff are all pleasant and friendly. There is a big variety on the menu from pan pizza to salad, Asian and Western mains plus more. I had the nasi lemak one evening and the beef bolognese the other. Both were very good. Generous in portion size, nicely presented and tasty. I couldn't complain. I don't normally like to eat at hotels when I travel as I prefer to go out and try different places. However, there is nothing much in Brunei nor around the hotel so this was a very good option. Would recommend for sure.

Tried the buffet lunch. A very reasonable spread with 1 live station of noodles. A good selection of local and western dishes. Seems popular with a steady stream of patrons.

I have been staying at Radisson since before COVID struck and I have had my fair share of meals at Tasek The staff were polite and efficient although the big poolside function that was going on at the time I had dinner obviously made the staff a little short handed I ordered the Thai green curry and to say it was a disappointment is a understatement. The only thing that resembled Thai green curry was the colour The gravy was watery, and way too salty. There were 4 miserly pieces of chicken and a mix mash of vegetables, most of which you will not expect to find in a that green curry dish So my word of advise when dining here, don’t be adventurous and stick to the local dishes which I think they do much better!

Good quality food! Average portions! Very affordable! Taste is good as well! However there is one thing that many of the other reviewers have mentioned- the restaurants lacks serious service! The ladies at the front desk who are also the servers are busy attaining their mobile phones and have literally no interest in providing customer service. Had to repeatedly call them over to get the attention; weather for food, water or menu. Overall.. go there if you do not care about service and just want to hang out for a good food night!

Always liked their rotis and dosai, though theur dipping sauces are abit too runny for my liking. Portion is huge and very filing. In addition, the interior is renovated to give a fresh look.

Great ambience. Peaceful place. Person who takes the order looks very serious! Could do better while taking up the order. Food is decent and average, not very exceptional. Excess usage of colour is a downside. Price is above average but considering the ambience it reasonably priced. Big downside when it comes to the restrooms. Reducing one star for restrooms and another for serious staff who takes the order.

Tried here and really liked it! Started with roti and hummus—fresh and tasty. The chicken shawarma was full of flavor, and the garlic sauce and chili sambal were really good. We also had the mixed kebab platter with mandi rice and biryani. Grilled salmon rice is good. everything was cooked well. The eggplant omelette was something different and nice too. Great place for Arabic food!

04/04/25 service was slow. food was alright. i believe i am not the only one when i say that it is somewhat overprice.

Had hummus with Rateeb bread. And Adeni Tea. Hummus was okay. Rateeb bread was a bit too greasy. Adeni tea was a disappointment, it tasted nothing like spiced milk tea. And the milk itself tasted cheap. What was even more disappointing was that the staffs kept making unnecessary noises; clattering spoons and forks, making noise behind counter like they were banging on something. Since it was only my friend and me, we assumed they were closing and that the noise was their way of hinting for us to leave, plus one of them was sweeping the floor. But no…. it was only 7pm (i had to ask too if theyre closing, and they said no 🙄) To those who is in fnb industry, please learn proper restaurant etiquette.

Whatever you do avoid this Resturant. My husband had I came here after mosque, to have dinner. We ordered large mix grill, we were offered bread or rice, we chose rice. Then offered salad or fries, my husband asked what salads come with it and the waitress listed several options. My husband chose tabouli. We also had tea, and mint lemonade. We were informed after ordering that they only take cash, however we assumed we would have enough cash given the dish we ordered was 26.90 and all we had in addition to this was tea and lemon mint drink. The bill came of $45.20 to our shock. The waitress insisted the salad is not included though its presented this way on the menu and was offered this way verbally. In addition the tea is $5.50 and lemon mint is 4.90 the same lemon mint drink can be had in much larger size all over Brunei for $1. We had to drive all over looking for an atm @ 2200 at night as they refused our American cash to make up the difference. Every meal we had in Brunei was under $10-15 for the 2 of us, we expected this to cost more, but these prices are outrageous, these prices are what you would pay in the United States in a high cost of living area like Seattle, Los Angeles or NYC the food is ok, but not an authentic Arabian flavor or experience promised in their website (we are Arabs from the USA) and have spent time in the Middle East. The tabouli served didn’t even have lemon juice and olive oil. The service is from Filipinos who gaze upon you with blank expressions in their face. No Arabian experience or flavor found here.

My Town Eating House offers a relaxed and spacious environment, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal or high tea with friends. Felt excited when i ordered the buttermilk chicken but it was very disappointing.The buttermilk chicken was absolutely horrendous, it tasted sweet and taste like cheese NOT buttermilk. They need to improve it immediately. The only thing preventing me from giving one star is the mee Goreng it was decent the atmosphere is also pretty nice.

This was the first time we come to this restaurant. The food is nice, and my wife said the Portuguese Tart is tasty! We were so glad that we have our lunch here! Quite nice! Will definitely visit again. In celebration of His Majesty’s Birthday, I ordered side mai and have a Bun for free! Haha

Always a favourite place for Malaysian cuisine though they offer a wider variety of cuisines (Japanese, Taiwanese, Indonesian, etc). Orders are written down in your own seating and brought to the counter along with payment. My recommendation: AYAM PENYET. Super crispy chicken though lack consistency as sometimes it's juicy and other times dry. Sambal has changed in taste from the last time I've been here which isn't negative as it's still tasty (you can opt for spicy or non spicy sambal). Rice has changed from plain rice to rice fried in oil which is a little more fragrant and fatty. PENANG CHAR KUEY TEOW. Noodles were QQ and had the char taste. However, it lacked the flavour from my last visit but still one of the top halal kuey teow in town. Honestly, I'd recommend ordering anything in the menu especially the desserts or special drinks. Everything's very well priced at their quality. Depending on the times you dine in, some items might not be available or run out pretty quickly as it can get very crowded during rush hour. The staffs were really friendly and the service was quick.

We stopped by Ximply Chriz for coffee after breakfast, and while it was quite crowded, we were lucky to get a seat without a reservation. The staff managed to pull up an extra seat for us, which we appreciated. However, the service wait time was extremely disappointing. It took half an hour for five drinks to arrive, with the first coming out after 15 minutes and the rest trickling in every few minutes. By the time the last drink was served, the first one had long been finished. When we gave feedback, the waiter simply apologized, saying there was a long queue. But given that this place is regularly busy, shouldn’t there be some operational improvements? A simple apology didn’t quite cut it, and the experience left a bad impression. As for the drinks, they were alright overall, but my sea salt chocolate mocha was way too sweet, and I couldn’t finish it. The presentation also seemed off—just look at my photos, and you’d probably agree it’s hard to believe that’s the intended design. That said, the food looked pretty good. Not sure if I’ll be returning.

I tried their matcha strawberry latte (bnd6.50), and it was as refreshing as it was visually stunning — creamy matcha layered over sweet strawberry compote with just the right amount of ice. The grilled chicken salad (bnd14.90) was a standout too, packed with juicy grilled chicken, hearty mushrooms, and crispy croutons, all on a bed of fresh greens. It was both satisfying and well-balanced for me. The Hearty spaghetti bolognese(bnd11.90) was rich with a generous portion of meat sauce and topped with a crisp parmesan tuile that added a nice texture contrast. The ambience of the café is calm and minimalistic, perfect for a relaxed meal or casual catch-up. Service was friendly and efficient.

We tried the waffles and chicken and their fish of the day. We absolutely love their chicken. Crisp on the outside while tender and moist inside. Their fish of the day mixed with greens, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms makes it tastier and a must try. Quite pricey but worth the try. They have large amount of serving so you can share it with your mates. Staff are also accommodating and helpful with your needs as well.

Right off the bat the restaurant gave off authentic Chinese vibes that makes it stand out from other restaurants within the building. I'll get straight to the point. + The food tastes great. Presentation is just as good. + Pricing is reasonable to the quantity and quality of the food. = Place is rather cold, so it is advisable to grab a jacket or sweater to keep warm. - A big fly unfortunately dove into one of the plates, so we asked for replacement. In my opinion, there should be more fly traps. - Additionally, while requesting replacement, none of the staff responded swiftly. While I do recommend this place to anyone wanting to try Dim Sum, this place has room for improvement, at the very least keeping flies away.

There was this noodle dish that was fried with meat from the Peking Duck. It was over cooked and burnt. I complained to the waiter. He looked and me and walked off. If it wasn’t the burnt noodle, I would have given it a 4 star rating. Give a 👍🏻 if you find my comment useful.

A nice Chinese restaurant in Brunei with duck, pecking however no pecking skin menu or a dish, the duck is good, not excellent though. The dumplings were good, so is their soup, I do recommend to eat their dumpling siew mai. The shop is well organize, crowded at peak time, try to avoid this time to get your food in timely manner. It’s gotten really bad lately. Even if the food is still alright, the feeling you’re left with is the equivalent of dining at a food court. And I hate it when the things I order aren’t available; basic dim sum. Come on! I take it back, the food isn’t alright! The bao was spoilt (with a weird earthy waft), the lamb was so smelly and some of the food is too peppery. seriously, do you even eat your own food? And your cost cutting measures make your restaurant look even cheaper. They’re pretty obvious.

We came here for dinner and ordered the Soto Special—and it was excellent. The broth was rich, aromatic, and full of comforting spice, easily one of the best soto soups we've had in Brunei. The kangkong and kubis (cabbage) sides were perfectly cooked—simple but full of flavor. The riverside location adds a unique charm to the meal—dining outdoors with a view of the water is something quite special in Bandar Seri Begawan. That said, the place is a bit out of the way and can be tricky to find without local guidance. On the downside, the udang galah (giant freshwater prawn) lacked freshness, which was a bit disappointing given its potential. The toilet facilities could also use serious improvement. Still, for the soto alone, it's worth the visit—especially if you're looking for something different and authentically local.

Went here by using Dart for dinner. It's absolutely fantastic. The place has this amazing view, the air is just fresh, the menu might be confusing for new customer because there's lots of choices (i think it's a bit too many). Got the soto special, it has the cow offal. So good it gives the soto a more complex flavour and texture. In my opinion it tasted like "rawon" but without the "kluwek". Also tried the cucur udang / shrimp fritter. It's a bit too sweet for me (the dough somehow tasted sweeter than what i'm used to. Back in my hometown usually they are savoury). Also the sauce didn't help because it's sweeeeettt as well.

Soto Pabo is truly a gem in Brunei 😋 Firstly, the location is perfect for viewing the gorgeous sunsets on the river 🌅 The food was all amazing! I really loved the pakis and nasi goreng balutak and the chicken satay 🙏 I also tried ambuyat for the first time but it wasn’t for me unfortunately 😕 however the side dishes that came with it were all perfectly seasoned The coconut shake was sweet, milky and refreshing 🥛🥥 Additionally, the prices are very reasonable! Went for the first time as I saw the review that it's a great place for sunset. Although, we missed the sunset, but the ambiance was still very much enjoyable. Beautiful night view. Most of the tables were reserved as we came at 7pm. Luckily, we still got 1 table left. Food wise: I'd say my expectation was higher (but mind you, I get accustomed to Indonesian+Malay cuisines, so..). The Soto was a bit too salty for me, it was okay though. The tahu telur was good with tasty dip sauce (too oily, but understandable). We ordered satay as well, it was good (more to the Malay sweet taste). All in all, I'd still recommend to stop by at this place if you're around.

Very nice place to bring tourist around. Sotos were really good but just a heads up if u cant handle spice really well then don't add their mixed chilli sauce! Loved the atmosphere however parking space is quite limited especially during peak hours.

Whenever my overseas friends visit, I make sure to bring them here. The Soto special is a must-try, and we also ordered the Brunei delicacy ambuyat so my guests could experience it. I appreciate the ambuyat served at Aminah Arif, but I prefer the smaller portion available at this restaurant. Finally, this location is renowned for its picturesque riverside views.

I love this place. Their lunch buffet was really good. I believe you need to book earlier in order to have lunch in there as there will be government staffs who will be having their lunch as well. Walk in available but if the capacity is reached they would not allow people to come in. You can also have the water village view while having your lunch. I would say this is worth trying if you're coming to Brunei.

came on a tuesday morning, 10am. there was a bit of a wait before the staff got to my table but it was understandable seeing as how full the kopitiam was. after taking my orders, the food came really quickly :) nice teh c, siu mai was tasty, fried wontons were a little tough but it was ok. the mains were really good and came in big portions - kuey teow had some wok hei, nasi lemak (biasa) was fragrant, nasi ayam penyet had great sambal.

Visited here twice. First time we come we waited for almost two hours but to our surprise they served us chill food. Second time we visit and again they served to us chill food. I would not recommended this restaurant to anyone.

Disappointed. Celebrated a birthday at the rest last night. Pre-booked for 7 pm and pre order our menus 2 days ago. Food only started to come after waiting for more than an hour. A vegetable dish and some drinks only came after we nearly finished our food around 9 pm. Selection of food was not bad but quality of food served was much to be desired.

I went here for my mum's birthday, had dinner with my family. We had the bbq buffet. My grilled chicken was maroon-pink. The sausage my sister ate was expired. The corn on the cob was too hard to cut into. The lamb I had was tough to cut into as well. The roast beef was really dry as well as one of the cakes. The bread pudding had a bitter-sour taste but the vanilla sauce was ok. So far, the best food for me were the mashed potatoes and mushroom soup. I'd like it if the buffet had more seasoning because the flavour was underwhelming. I felt really bad for taking my mum here for her birthday.

Good place to play here. A lot of people always come here. The place is crowded and funny. You will enjoy here. But me and other seven people are coming to play FIFA20, unfortunately they only have one CD. We didn't like it because we have to wait a lot of time for others to finish their games even though we do co-play 2vs2. I recommend this place for small groups not for large groups. They offer some food and have table if you want to come handy play some cards.

The cappucino was great.. i should say it's one of the best i ever had from cafes in Brunei! we came with young children (age 4-10), and they got to explore many interesting board games, card games, and even Jengas and Duplos. The server wasnt a super friendly type of person nor he was proactive, but he's helpful and will answer appropriately when we asked questions.. he was alone, so i could see that he's quite efficient in serving our orders. The menu is basically snacks, so dont come with hungry tummy. i would come back even only for the coffee👍

The cafe is aesthetically pleasing and has it's unique touch due to it having board games along with your food and drinks, whether you want them separately or both of them at once, but better at once because you get them for only a minimum price of $5 per person. From that price you are able to play any board game of your choosing from the plathora of games that they provide. The food was mediocre, if you're expecting to be full this is not the place to be but just to have a nice time with your friends and families. If you're looking for entertainment in this area this probably it, assuming that you're with friends, if alone you can just go to the cyber cafe nearby. From a review I saw before coming here, they stated that the male staff here had a bad attitude. When I arrived, the male staff already is nice enough to explain to us if you were to ask how it works. $5 per person to play any boardgame in their store until they close, $6 per hour of playing on the PlayStation4 that is available if no one is using it (you are also able to play your own games whether it be a board game or a ps4 disc, you have to wait for your turn if there is someone else using it however) or just play the ps4 by itself. The overall experience is great and fun to hangout with your friends, I certainly had a blast when I was there. I'm definitely coming back here sometime in the near future.

I recommend this place for if you want to stay for a long time! Coffee tends to be small though reasonably priced. There is not many staff though, so you might have to wait a bit but that's okay. There are many games to choose from! I would suggest adding more two player games though for dates ;)

The place itself is nice. My friends and I generally come here to play the games, especially Avalon. Last night I decided to rent that very same game for a friend's birthday. I paid $20 for the rental and upon returning it today I was told that there is no partial refund of the deposit. I have never encountered such a preposterous rental policy nor a price as steep! Manager please amend this policy, otherwise you may find none of your games returned!

Everywhere one goes, there is always (most places I guess) at least one ‘Japanese’ (sushi) restaurant that exists in a country. Normally that one sushi restaurant is the popular choice to get your sushi cravings - and perhaps other Japanese dishes but mostly one shouldn’t expect too much on the taste and quality at times. Excapade has earned its place for that sushi restaurant in Brunei. Scattered throughout the country with multiple branches, some with special features, some not just generic. This one is one of the several that doesn’t really boast any special features - maybe it’s one of the “larger” branches in Brunei with some spots for attempted private setting and good for group special occasions- if you can’t afford Kaizen. Recently I came here via walk-in basis for a group of 4-5 person. Picked up some plates off the sushi belt - which is limited compared to its menu. So we ordered most of our dishes off the physical menu. Excapade requires writing down the code on the paper slip, adding any requests to the dishes if needed etc. Dishes are marked to label which dishes are vegetarian friendly, which makes it easier to pinpoint for those who don’t eat seafood (like myself). Unlike many places in Brunei, they really understand in accommodating to dietary requests. For reference, I ordered hosomaki (kappa/cucumber, avocado, oshinko/pickled radish, wakame/seasoned seaweed), plain inari, vege tempura maki, yasai tempura, plain rice and picked up a plate of wakame off the sushi belt. We also had green tea. The hot water dispenser off the side of the table had weak pressure so I requested a kettle of hot water. Hosomaki: these were not tightly rolled so upon picking up with my chopsticks it would fell apart. Filling distribution were good. The inari was quite thick in the distribution of rice and the rice seasoning was too overpowering and strong - too much vinegar was mixed in perhaps. The vege tempura maki came last. Yasai tempura was an assortment of vegetables and came with dipping sauce. On each table, disposable chopsticks, pickled ginger, wasabi paste, soy sauce and I think teriyaki sauce, shichimi togarashi was provided. Also, plates and sauce dip plates, cups. Service was decent and better than many places in Brunei. There is a button on each table if one would like to call a staff/server. The atmosphere was too noisy - I think the layout of the restaurant makes the noise just vibrate throughout the restaurant. Makes it harder to have a hint of privacy in conversations even though there is supposedly 'private seating' space, but not really.

Very good atmosphere. Wide range of soup and dish choices. Also tastes very delicious!!!! Only problem is when you order too much, the waiters sometimes get you the wrong dishes, but they will get you the correct one ASAP!

Fantastic Japanese restaurant! I've tryed escapade for business dinner and I remained very satisfying for large choose of menu, delicious taste of food. Everything I've tryed were fresh, well cooked and presented. Despite Restaurant were full and we were a numerous table, the time of service was reasonable and pretty fast. Informal location, too high air condition but on request they reduce it. Kind staff Ratio quality-Price is optimal! Very suggested.

One of my fav place to go for sushi.. Eventhough the staff can be rude and bitchy but luckily I'm used the hostility. Love the salmon bento and party sets. So fresh and size are good.

Beautiful cake house decorated with local and lavish items. When you enter the front door, you’ll be welcomed with a full counter of traditional cakes (Kueh in Malay). Unfortunately, they don’t sell savoury kueh anymore as of early 2024. However, you can also enjoy a variety of local and Malaysian food dishes. Staffs were friendly and attentive. It’s a great place for breakfast and it doesn’t get too busy with people coming in and out to take away. Heres what we ordered: PENANG FRIED KUEH TIAW. Cooked well with the wok hei taste, generous amount of cockles served with a side of sambal. The sambal went really well with the noodles and added a spicy and sourness to it. KEK BATIK. The original kek batik or cashew kek batik were really good. The cashew was an interesting innovation tasting like candied cashews below of the original kek batik layer. Its not overly sweet either. KEK LAPIS. No matter what flavours of kek lapis you choose, you will be satisfied. The layers were really well made, it wasn’t too dense and not too oily or sweet. Overall, a recommended place to enjoy local food and cakes to get to know Brunei food culture a little better.

Had lunch here where the restaurant usually serve malay food. This is also our go-to place for quality traditional kueh. The service is ok and the overall place has a nice warm ambiance. Overall, its a great place to have a snack or to have a simple meal.

Had a dinner with family at this fusion restaurant. The service has been good because may be it’s because there were not many patrons during the time. The atmosphere is like a cafe. The food we ordered were done in an interesting fusion. We ordered Grilled Fish with sambal (Ikan Bakar) and rice. The rice tastes like chicken rice, the fish fillet with light sambal sauce is easy with spiciness so it is good for children or people who doesnot like spicy food. A bit disappointed with the vege that comes with it. They only provided a light preserved cucumber and carrots (jaruk of timun) instead of fresh vege. The spaghetti with seafood we ordered looks similar to local fried noodles- but taste was ok.

Beautiful food presentation! The restaurant has a simplistic vibe. The staffs are friendly and attentive. I highly recommend: NELAYAN. An innovative twist to the spaghetti marinara with substitution of the tomato base to sambal. It was so savory and unexpected with a strong lemongrass flavor leaving the tastebuds wanting more. There was a tonne of seafood and spaghetti. My number one recommendation for anyone yo try. DAGING BAKAR. The beef was flavourful however was quite tough and chewy. The rice was fragrant with pandan. Overall the dish reminded me of the simple Malay daging bakar but elevated to a new level. AYAM PANGGANG ROSEMARY. An innovative take to a rosemary chicken using the Malay style grilled chicken. The breast part was used and to my surprise it was soft and tender. The rosemary sauce was creamy but resembling more to a black pepper sauce. The presentation was beautiful with different vegetables laid around. PIASAU. Milky Panna cotta with coconut shavings and vanilla ice cream. Refreshing and not too sweet. Overall really impressed with all the foods presentation and flavors. Will come back again to try other dishes!

My favourite restaurant of all time. I have expressed it in multiple platforms and verbally on how underated they are. Incredible fusion food, cooked to perfect, well balanced flavour. Their food may not suit everyone's taste, but that should not take away the culinary efforts on making the dish perfect. I've tried almost all the food in the menu, none has dissapoint me, and if i have to choose just one meal, it has to be ikan bakar. Highly, highly recommend to give them a try atleast once. You may come back often like I do.

Modern take on local dishes. Quality ingredients, very flavourful, beautiful presentation. Prices are reasonable based on local cafe pricing. flavours can tend to be on the strong side so its a place for special occasion. As a regular dining place, the flavours might be too heavy.

I can say this is one of the few gourmet restaurants that exist in Brunei. It had a cafe type ambiance and the foodwas awesome. We ordered the arrabiata, bucatini and kerabu. Both the arrabiata and bucatini was very flavourful even though there was little to no meat in the pasta. The kerabu was also very fresh and was aesthetically pleasing. Staff were friendly and the mural added to the positive experience of dining at their restaurant. So overall this is a lovely place to have a bit of gourmet at a reasonable price and also a nice place to hang and chill with friends as well.

The menu are western like pasta and steak. We ordered Bucatini with parmesan for $6, arabiatta $6 , both have similar sauce taste of pesto rich flavor but for arabiatta black olive is the difference except when we ate there's no black olive. Taste is approved as they achieve correct Italian flavors. We also order kerabu sotong ,it's Thailand squid spicy salad on fish sauce and lots of crunch from toasted garlic. Overall the food are like gourmet style in an affordable level. The staff are polite and the ambiance is romantic with warm yellow lighting. Last time we passed by and the place is being renovated but today it still looks the same place , except now we see a closed kitchen and fire sprinklers so it must have been an inspection issue. We just have an issue on their irregular opening hours because many times we wanted to eat but we always come when it's a closed business hours. The prices are s bit on the high side from $6to $24 for steak.

Cafe that serves modernized local cuisine with a hint of western influences. My top three recommended dishes there are the Kearny Sotong (spicy squid salad with pomelo), Ikan Bakar (Grilled fish with samba land fragrant rice) and the Puteri Mandi (Pandan flavoured dessert with Gula Melaka). The other dishes could be a hit or a miss depending on your taste or preference. Definitely worth it to try out the food here if you haven’t already. Do note that this place does not open on Sunday nights, so plan your visit accordingly.

Dark interior settings. Prompt service. Photo menu on the tablet is really helpful. The double flavour chicken came presented exactly as the photo on the tablet and came up light and crispy. A decent place to come back to if stuck for dinner. Accepts card.

First and foremost..service is super tip top..they usher us with umbrellas to the car during the rain..make us feel like VIP..and the food is lovely..

Amazing restaurant. Excellent service staff and phenomenal dishes! Hands down one of my favourite restaurants. Only down side is that their slipper lobsters always run out because it's so popular! All the food served here are extremely delicious, I cannot stress that enough. Would definitely come here again without a doubt. 5 STARS!!!!!

Love the food we had. Tender lamb, fresh seafood and thirst quenching drinks. Staff are great but food could've come a little bit faster though. Just a little bit. My biggest problem with this place is the entrance to the main road that leads to this restaurant. It's tight. It only fits one car. So getting in can be tough depending on traffic.

Terrible! The sweet and sour chicken was virtually meat free. Just battered in flour. Inedible. I don't get all the good reviews...

The best vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Brunei! Really impressed with their flavours and textures. The place is beautifully decorated with plants and wood theme. The staffs were really friendly and service was quick. Heres what we ordered: PIZZA. The base tastes like sourdough and was crunchy yet chewy. You can choose half and half to try two flavours. I recommend the honey cheese and onion jam tuna. The combination of honey and cheese were delicious. The onion jam tuna was amazing. I couldn’t tell that this was a vegetarian substitute of tuna at all. The flavours were well balanced. However, my recent visit the pizza toppings were too oily and there wasn’t any micro greens or pickles on the onion jam tuna like previously. THE DAUN KUEY TEOW. Delicious with wok hei flavour. Slightly spicy and not too salty. The plant based meat almost tasted like chicken. Overall, was very delicious. SIZZLING NOODLE. The broth was thick and flavourful with plenty of vegetables. The portion of the noodles were quite large as well. Tastes almost exactly like the ones served in Chinese restaurants. KUIH IN TEA. This is a seasonal drink that we really loved. Reminds me of kuih seri muka but in a drink. It was very refreshing, light and not overly sweet. SWEET SOUR CHICKEN. The vegetarian substitute for the chicken was quite spot on. In terms of flavour I could hardly tell it was plant based. The texture was softer than chicken which I really enjoyed. The batter was nice and chewy, the sauce was addictively sweet and sour. TARO AND SWEET POTATO BALL. This dessert was refreshing and light. I really love the texture of the sweet potato balls, very chewy. Overall, we really enjoyed the mains served to us. However, for the snacks we found that most deep fried snacks like the ONION RINGS and LOTUS ROOT CHIPS, were very oily. Will definitely come back especially for the pizza!

Love the foods here .. mee Siam was good along with flavorful vegan beef , the cream mushroom sourdough was good too but too stingy on the mushrooms .

First time here with my nephew. lovely lively clean restaurant. Service was good. We ordered Nasi lemak. It was okay nothing special about it. The sliced cucumber were cut way too thin, no crunchiness. I preferred the other vegetarian restaurant (can't think the name on top of my head) are so much better. Don't think I would come back again.

I came to this place because it was "highly recommended" by my colleagues. The service was great. The waitress that was attending us was pretty patient and nice, she answered all the questions asked about the menu. I ordered the Arabic Shawarma, Onion rings and buttermilk pasta. The pasta sauce was extremely watery and I couldn't find the "wow" factor once I had a taste. The onion rings were the most disappointing dish. The onions were BARELY covered with batter - you can still see the onions and just a little bit of bread crumbs surrounding it. IT WAS NOT IT. The Arabic Shawarma was supposed to be the "winner" since it was quite expensive - $8 for the dish. However, it didn't taste as good as it was priced either. It gives off "Jollibee Pita Sandwich" which is much cheaper and tastes exactly the same. I was overall disappointed with the food. Ambience - great. Service - great. Food - not so much. I'm not sure if I'll return again.

The restaurant features vegetarian malay dishes. The meat substitue are either eggs or mushroom. The nachos were light and made of rice but the sauce did not do it any favours. The cauliflower wings tastes like tokoyaki. The cakes we ordered were scrumptious and full of nuts. The bubur chacha had a mellow sweet flavour and the coconut milk was fresh even though there was no sago. Their butterfly pea tea had subtle flavors of pandan , the oatmeal was crunchy and had a good amount of berries. Theservers were friendly and the restaurant itself has a bright and clean atmosphere. Overall, its a great place to have good desserts and chill, if you dont mind the price.

This restaurant is considered by many to be the ultimate bourgeois restaurant in Brunei So how does it compare to other fancy restaurants? The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful perfect and soft lighting The decorations are immaculate with great attention to culture and traditions The place is pleasantly quiet with nice music playing in the background but it's not too loud that it becomes distracting The big surprise I find is the price on the menu The price is not that different from other cafes and fancy high-end restaurants And the portion that you get is definitely worth the money, in fact it was enough for me to share it with others This restaurant is a great place to bring the entire family on a once in a blue moon splurge

‘Meh’ is the best way that I can describe my overall thoughts of this place. Airport restaurants are almost never stellar and overpriced in contrast to local pricing standards anyway. I had the vegetarian aglio olio. I know how to cook this dish it’s one of the easiest pasta dishes. The choice of vegetables is abhorrent - who puts broccoli, cauliflower and carrot chunks in an aglio olio dish? Brunei restaurants are so clueless when it comes to cooking vegetarian and vegan options. Be logical! Apart from that - food tasted average and presented well. Water is complementary. No other comments. Can pay using card too.

Surprisingly very delicious! Food was pretty good, but it is pricy. Had the nasi lemak with beef rendang, murtabak, lamb biriyani and caramel gula apong. Nice meal before a flight, but service can take a while - make sure to leave plenty of time if planning to have a meal pre-flight.

A bit disappointed to be honest. Price is expensive (well, it’s airport) but the food weren’t great. Egg serves also like few slices of omelette on the noodle, looks very sad indeed.

Situated in the Brunei International Airport, this restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is a convenient place to dine while waiting a flight. Service can be great depending on how busy it is. It’s normally quite busy so expect waiting time to be seated. Food here is decent, but doesn’t give justice to our beloved Bruneian food. Price range is on the steep side, just like any airport based restaurant. Recommendations: EGG MURTABAK. An Indian bread with egg served with a side of curry sauce. You can choose from chicken, beef or fish curry (depending on availability) NASI LEMAK. Coconut rice served with sambal, chicken, anchovies and vegetables. Nasi refers to rice and lemak refers to fat due to the addition of the coconut. CLUB SANDWICH. A loaded sandwich with beef rashers, grilled chicken, fried egg, tomato, cucumber and cheese served with tortilla chips and salsa on the sides.

The price tag for the food does not reflect the quality at all. Sure it's airport food, but paying $6.80 for Roti Telur is appalling, whats worse is it's so mediocre at best. Calling this restaurant "bougie" is a complete and utter joke. 1/10. I would recommend walking outside and get Jolibee instead.

Had dimsum brunch on a weekday. Place was not busy and service was attentive. Food was delicious, portions fairly standard. The egg tarts are excellent, even if a bit small. Price is steep when compared to their competitors, but acceptable given it is a hotel restaurant.

Well, the restaurant certainly fit the aesthetic of outdated Chinese restaurant style. The food and the menu? Well… The menu provides labels for dishes that are vegetarian, spicy, best sellers, and contains prawn. While it seems organised and accommodating at a glance, the menu falls short of several important features needed and goes along the same crowd as many restaurants in Brunei. The menu includes both English and Chinese languages. However, it misses the mark of adding descriptions of what the dish entails/contains. Not pictured, I ordered crispy salad prawn. When the dish came it was slathered and mayonnaise. I was not happy as I don’t consume dairy. When I asked the staff that I didn’t know there would be mayonnaise, their first response was pointing to a picture. I told them how would I know that is the dish when it’s not even labelled. At least add descriptions to each dishes and label the dish. Imagine if I had an allergic reaction. Food-wise, I know and heard the dim sum is good. But I’m not commenting on that, I’m commenting on the dishes I had, which didn’t have a stellar and remarkable taste. Quite forgettable but not too bad. Price-wise, it makes sense for the portion.

First time dining there after hearing so many positive comments about it. I must say what a miserable place. Service is bad on a Sunday at 8.30am. The dimsum is awulful. I can't believe that people enjoy this poor quality of food. Online menu is lacking of the full menu. Need to ask for the booklet menu which show full list. Nevertheless food is poor quality. Price is at or above yumcha gadong but quality sucks. See pics attached. Supasave roasted chicken tastes better than here. Luckily we only order a few just to try out only. This will be my first and last time ever visit this place.

Ordered mostly dim sums but did also order dishes, it was amazing, the service was great, super attentive and the atmosphere was the best, it was clean and subtle, exactly how I like it to be. Didn't even have to wait for 1 min for a table. Thank you so much.

Under new management now, before used to be much better. the food is quite pricy and there are similar but cheaper alternative elsewhere. This restaurant seems to cater mainly to senior government officials on salary of Group 1 to super super scale and super scale khas and Menteris and SUTs and also overpaid clerks. First time there, no more 2nd time.

Some of the food were decent but service of staff was bad particularly the Indonesian lady, wrong order came 3 times after a long wait. Lady tried to lecture us how to order instead

I got here twice already, but still the cashier didn't know how to approach the customer appropriately. For me shes very cold and didn't friendly at all! And it makes customer feel pressure to make an order and feeling so rush. I really hope the staff can improve their behaviour. Bcs it is so annoyed for me, didn't really know how to approach customers really well. While, the foods is so so and good. Not really satisfied.

Place was empty when we arrived. We tried the mango ice flakes - sad to say taste of sugar flavorings. Rice bowls rice plus a serving of chicken cube varieties. Chicken was over-fried so quite hard. The egg waffles was still ok

Ordered a plate of roasted chicken rice regular assam curry Prawn and a bitter chicken w/rice . Roasted chicken was good tender and juicy , and chicken rice chillies sauce surprisingly the best very limey and medium spicy. Buttermilk prawn was ok and assam prawn not bad very flavorful but the gravy too watery and curry and tamarind taste was quite balance , prefer if the add some slices of pineapple to bring out more flavor .

Went here for a quick snack the place is located on the first floor and is huge. Beautifully decorated with plants and a huge teddy bear in the end. I got the FRIED CHEESY WANTAN which had a chicken filling and a cheese dip. Wantan was crispy but chicken filling was a bit dry. The CUCUR PISANG was different as they use a bread batter so its soft and bready rather than crispy. It was okay. Would like to try their main dishes and update this review again in the future.

The gdg central shop looks going downhill compared to last I came here. There wasnt enough staff to entertain customers for lunch time as it took a long time for the food to be serve even though there was only 2 table taken by customers, one being myself. Next, i order roasted chicken, it wudnt be hard to tell me its not available within 15min time frame and not when they are about to serve my wife food and had to wait as I needed to order a different dish. Disappointing, lastly we ordered salted egg chicken, waited quite a while, and the person came and ask if its ok to serve fried chicken becos they are out of salted egg, worst is i paid the food way beforehand.

Their signature premier chicken rice tastes okok only. Nothing special and not worth the high price. You can find this chicken rice in any normal food court. A bit disappointed by their "signature" dish. However, chicken breast is tender. That is good. Service is also good and polite.

Wonderful delicious range of menu choices, and especially their chicken rice was tenderly cooked with pungent rice that was served with hot soup. No taste of seasoning and the food was very satisfying! Love their homemade teh Tarik not able to be found anywhere! Thanks alot for the warm Hospitable staff as well to serve us as your customers from Singapore! ;)

Roasted Sip has always been my go-to café whenever I’m in town visiting family. It’s conveniently located right in front of the hotel we often stay at, and the coffee has generally been pretty good. However, on my recent trip, I felt like the quality had dipped a little. Maybe my expectations were too high, or maybe there really has been a decline—we’ll see. I’m willing to give it more chances. As for the food, the variety isn’t the best. They have a lot of cakes, but they’re all quite sweet and not particularly standout. The pastries are okay, nothing exceptional. If you’re hungry, I’d recommend the chicken sandwich—it’s filling, but for the price, you might as well go for a proper meal like noodles or rice elsewhere. That said, it’s a decent café. Great place to meet up, good vibes, and the service is solid.

Roasted Sip has always been one of my favourite cafes but this outlet in particular has a certain charm to it with its decor and atmosphere! Centrally located in Kiulap beside J Hotel! The staffs were very friendly and their beef and cheese croissant is to die for!!!

Loved the atmosphere, cosy environment, clean toilets, clean environment, super friendly staff, easy to find free parking. Tried the Medovik cake and it’s one of the nicest I’ve tasted. However the coffee is a bit disappointing. Ordered iced latte and unfortunately the coffee tasted burned. Too burned until it left a very lasting bitter aftertaste. Can try to improve your roasting and beans selection next time.

I’m usually not a fan of cold coffee and “funny stuff” inside my coffee. But this latte with coffee jelly inside was fantastic! And the chocolate cake the richest and best I had in a long time. Definitely a place to recommend!!!

It's my favourite spot for fresh brew in Brunei. Coffee is good, and the seating is comfortable. This place is new and often crowded, and you may have to wait 15 minutes for them to prepare your brew during peak hours. You can also buy fresh coffee beans and pour over coffee. It's definitely worth the visit. Didn't try the pastries.

They have an amazing variety of coffee is specialty latte, delicious sweets and small bites our whole time in Brunei we started off the day with a nice cup of coffee and a little pastry. They open early and close late. Staff are friendly, kind, and accommodating .

Big Papa in Kiulap is an okay spot. I had honey grilled chicken rice, but the chicken seemed overcooked. However, the 1st-floor setup is perfect for birthday parties.

I used to eat here a lot when I was younger. It's probably because there are other mainstream restaurants out there that this place is long forgotten. I came in one day and saw the sign and I thought, "Wow, must have been 9 years ago since the last time I've eaten here." I felt a little bit nostalgic so I went on inside to eat here to break my fast. I ordered the steamed beef with rice which was divine (but they do need to tone down the honey - it was too much that I hardly can taste black pepper sauce). They didn't prepare a soup for us but I remembered that I used to eat here with soup as a side dish so I asked for it and they kindly gave my sister and I a small bowl of soup, each. I noticed that the price went up as well, because I don't remember the food being this pricey. Quite a change.

The staffs service is so unfriendly. Tables unreserved of yesterday's booked. Simple requests to pull tables together for 20 seats was being ignored while 3 staffs were sitting & standing, doing nothing. If the booking is not allowed, you should be more transparent during the booking was made on the phone so that customer could go somewhere else. Just imagine if the table unreserved on their special occasions, then on the day you informed 'we don't accept booking' is so unprofessional. Again, your staff unfortunately did not try to help. They just ignored us. Please provide your staff a training (2 of your staffs with glasses-not cashier, were doing so well) & be more transparent in the future ahead.

Just a few minutes ago. I accidentally called the wrong number I thought it was another fast food restaurant but it was big papa’s. But instead of telling me nicely the girl who was on the call was very rude. She talked as if she doesn’t care who was on the phone and she rudely yelled at me because I kept asking questions. I was being very polite but she was not polite at all.

This one is located in a departure zone before the gates, there is another one after the passport control. Your impression of this place depends 100% of your choice. We’ve been here in morning, so I will review breakfast options. Many pastries, sandwiches and hot meals. I would recommend you to choose something from hot menu because sandwiches are very average (btw my tuna one looks the best among all other sandwiches, but it’s just ok). But scrambled eggs with salmon are really cool - hot and tasty, big portion, many fish inside. In addition, free drink with refill option. Free wi-fi, many seating places.

16/12/24 worst experience i have ever had. it may be due to the overwhelming crowd or being understaffed. order taking was quite slow. once food and drinks was done. the staff just left the food and drinks on the counter instead of calling them out. maybe they expect customers to be telepathic. the cleanliness was also quite bad. when i arrive till i left which is roughly 15 minutes, there were tables not cleaned. i dont believe it takes up to 2 minutes to clean a table. there are 4 tables i am referring to.

It’s one of the few places that serve coffee, some pastries and cakes. I was there during Ramadan and it was the only place open to get something to drink/eat. It’s not a wow café but it’s the best place to spend some hours in the airport. Service is not super friendly.

Located in the Brunei International Airport Coffee Bean is one of the few places to eat and kill boredom in. Staffs were friendly and service was quick (unless its super packed then it will take a bit longer). The drinks and food here tastes the same as any other branch. Food is pretty average though.

It's good to know that .....arrival hall still got coffee bean. Coffee ease my bored and tired day. And ...sandwich grab and go concept is good. Spaghetti are delicious too. They accepted credit card. That's super, as I'm out of brunei dollars. Atmosphere wise👍👍👍clean and full with coffee aromatic hydrocaffeine in the air. Love it. 😍👌

Had time at the airport, the order taker should learn how to smile and make an eye contact when serving customer. Yes you had a long day and so were we. It took time to pay the bills too due to technical issue and atleast tell us update us what happened. Have that friendly conversation.

The staff behaviour are rude and playing eachother. Not focusing on the order. Attitude of person who took order was worst. I ask for hot coffee but coffee was cold.

Service is a bit slow even though there are many waitresses.. but the food was overall delicious! generous portion & very satisfied... could improve more on the service...

24/05/25 food wasnt that good. it tastes old and not fresh. drink was alright. service was quick though. food came in. less than 10 minutes after i placed my order.

The restaurant was not even half full, yet the service was incredibly slow. A waiter who seemed more interested in his phone than in attending to customers. The workers seemed unable to handle a small number of customers, which was baffling given the restaurant's size. We had to ask multiple times for simple things like plates and knife. It was clear that customer service was not a priority here. The overall experience was disappointing, and I left feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. The poor service and lack of professionalism were simply unacceptable.

Went there after the lunar eclipse event when I got hungry. And the store is open 24/7 so it's really convenient. Food was great and the staff was really friendly even at that hour (3 am btw) So I highly recommend.

Will not recommend this to the others who wonder if the buttermilk chicken tastes nice. The buttermilk chicken had a distict taste that made it hard to finish. My friend says its the taste of nut oil but either way the buttermilk here wasnt to my taste. The buttermilk here might be tasty for somepeople with different taste tho.

4:22am went there for take away and this rude female cashier said alrdy close and i ask what time do you close and she did not answer my question and say its close sir. And i ask the third time then she said 5am. And i replied and said its only 4:22am. Why close so early. And she got piss and proceed with my order and smack my money on the table and receipt. Sempurna enak boss or manager please improve your staff attitude. and her name is ellen if i didn't spell it wrongly, filipino female.

There is one specific waitress always bad mood . Never smile and never say thank you . It gave u the feeling u owe her money to order your food here . Hope the management can see it . Thank you .

The place is clean and tidy. Good atmosphere and the background music was good. The must important, the food. For someone which is used to eat pork the place is alright. My order was pork platter pork belly, breaded pork stake and pork ribs. The ribs definitely were a complete disappointment, overcooked at the point they were dry meat, with no more taste. Pork belly was just right form the start to the end.👍🏼 The drink was also very good obviously without alcohol.

The soup is very very good, creamy and tasty, pork ribs was fine with the sause, and the signature pasta first bite very normal, pork bit smelly, and very oily, feeling quite heavy after finish it. we ate 40BND, its satisfied full with reseanable price. Staffs were very good and helpful. I like thier soup very nice. Oh and mist try the wedges is super delicious!!!

It is a non-halal restaurant. Being non-halal what else you come here to try 😝 … I find the dishes a bit too dry. The pork chop is not too bad. I do love the pork sausages. Will definitely come back try out other dishes.

Pretty good & consistent experience so far. My go-to is the nagoya chashu don. Also recently tried their ramen - pretty good and not too salty!

24/05/2025 Went in today expect to have a real nice dinner for once in a while as to celebrate anniversary with my SO. Around 8pm ish, only one table customer and their order has already been served. With my SO, we ordered smoked back ribs (2sets). Service was soooooooooooooooo Soooooo soooo slow. But you would expect better quality of food, but to my disappointment today. Once food is serve, I pull off part of the rib and the moment I bite into it, IT IS UNEXPECTEDLY COLD!!! And I looked the rib bone being red in middle. My SO had to cut into his rib to also find it red bloody center. Both set of smoked back ribs were sent back to the kitchen, I don’t know perhaps to reheat. And which 2nd time comes back HARD & DRY. OVERCOOKED. I’m having hard time to chew on the meat and as a result I didnt properly finish my meal. A decent dinner suppose to take 1hr, supposingly 8pm ish come by and finish by 9pm ish. Which due to this reheat and meat being dry, finishing food took longer than expected and your staff to the point went to the door and flipped the sign “CLOSED” I felt being rush to finish my meal, and with that dry overcooked meat, might as well leave it. OVERALL VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE. HONESTLY IF I CAN, WOULD JUST GIVE HALF A STAR RATING INSTEAD. I DECIDE TO LEAVE THIS REVIEW BECAUSE IM VERY UNHAPPY ABOUT IT, AND YOUR STAFF WASN’T EVEN APOLOGETIC TO US CUSTOMER. ONE POINT; THE MOMENT I TOLD YOUR STAFF THE MEAT IS COLD UNCOOKED, THERE WAS NO APOLOGY SAID, THEY JUST TOOK THE PLATE AWAY. EVEN LAST CHANCE WHEN WE PAY FOR THE BILL, YOUR STAFF JUST BRUSH IT OFF LIKE NOTHING. MANAGEMENT, YOU NEED TO DO BETTER.

A very nice place to have pizza-Street style. The taste is average and can be improved further. It is possible to order two flavours of pizza mixed into one pan pizza.The seatings are available on bottom and top floors. However it is not disabled and old folks friendly as there is no elevator in the premise.

Superrr slow delivery service and unreliable phone line (called/tried calling 48 times in a span of 2hrs)!! Ordered at 6.15pm and food arrived just before 8pm, even though i live less than 10 mins away. Food obviously came cold and soggy, pizza was very subpar. Staff also needs better customer service training in taking orders and handling complaints.

Love the generous cheese on their pizza and inside the calzone...really stringy too and not at all over-salty. California pizza was yummy! Their size portion to their $ makes this a high value option (much better than pizza hut). BUT: really disappointed w the Honey Garlic flavour...garlic was non existent so it became a honey + chicken mix, which was too sweet for a pizza. Free refills for soft drinks and friendly service makes this a welcoming venue.

Seating options are HORRIBLE and lacking. We couldn't enjoy our meal properly, although the food was good. The worst part is the drafty wind blowing in from the entrance doors opening and closing when you sit indoors. It can be felt everytime customers and staff use the door. Light bulbs flickering is also extremely annoying!

The pizza is large and deliciously perfect. The thin crust, the chewiness, the generous toppings. Amazoir! Pizza lovers must eat here. Loads of mozzarella cheese on the pizza. Condiments available: Tabasco sauce, cheese powder, olive oil, chilli flakes. Oh the fried chicken - they’re super crispy and full of flavour! I’d say it’s better than a lot of big brands out there famous for fried chicken. I had 4 slices of pizza and two of the drumsticks because it’s really too delicious. I ate them without any extra sauces. Maybe a few bites with added chilli flakes. I highly recommend the pizza and the fried chicken. We had bottomless soft drinks (felt a bit watered down, but were more interested in the pizzas). My friends I had the Honey Cheese Chicken Pizza and the Ratatouille Pizza. Medium size had 8 slices (already big slices!), but next time I wanna try the large one (extra big slices!).

The last time I visited Brunei, friends from Brunei always treat us Margerita Pizza, all of us were amazed by the taste and freshness of it. And we were told that there is one located at the One Riverside, we went here and brought two pizzas, nice! Since then we said when we have the opportunity to come to Brunei again, we will have Margerita Pizza again! We did it! Yesterday we ordered a Pepperoni and even cannot wait till we back hotel we just ate one slide of it in the car hahahahaha. Recommend! P.S. I think the chicken wings have some rooms of improvement hehe

Margherita Pizza is one of the best place to eat pizza from in Brunei. The place is usually crowded. Many tables are available. The place is very clean. There is a really good view in from of the restaurant. Bathrooms are available for males and females. The offer a variety of pizza flavors and different types of soft drinks. If you like pizza, you must try the pizza here. I posted photos of the menu, I hope you find it helpful. I highly recommend this place.

Margherita pizza, cheezzy, although the toping not so excited hardly can taste the toping,. The sauce is great, but they could do better. Prize not the cheapest, but they have xtra large size. Guess I have mixed review about the place. The view is gorgeous, the food is fantastic, the service is excellent and they serve coffee and ice cream only at this branch! What's not to love? 😍😍😍
