This was my first visit with three people, including myself. If you're going with a group, it's best to park and make reservations as soon as you arrive and then go your separate ways! We arrived around 11:00, and parking lot 1 (9 spaces?) in front of the restaurant was full, and parking lot 2 (10 spaces) behind the restaurant only had one spot available. Apparently there are three parking lots, but I couldn't find their exact locations.
The reservation machine is right at the entrance, so we headed straight there without getting lost! After making a reservation, you can either wait in your car or line up near the entrance. Since you register your phone number when you make a reservation, it's great that the system notifies you when it's almost your turn, even if you're far away. This time, we arrived around 11:00 and were the 27th in line, and we were able to enter around 12:15.
There is a tatami room, but since there were a lot of families there, we sat side by side at the counter seats with a view of the kitchen. The staff gave us a QR code, which we scanned with our smartphones to start ordering! I was tempted to order the beef bone salt ramen with three kinds of char siu toppings, which I've seen frequently in reviews, but I wanted to try some side dishes as well, so I decided to forgo the meat topping.
Here's what I ordered:
●Beef bone salt ramen with green onions (730 yen + 180 yen)
●Beef bone salt ramen with extra noodles (730 yen + 150 yen)
●Beef bone salt ramen (730 yen)
●Japanese black beef roast beef plate (900 yen)
●5 black pork gyoza (400 yen)
I ordered the ramen with green onions.
The other three of us shared everything except the ramen.
The first dish to arrive was the roast beef plate 🥩
This special dish is only available on the QR code menu, and I was so glad I ordered it! Thinly sliced roast beef topped with sesame oil, green onions, white sesame seeds, onion sauce, and egg yolk. It was served in a chilled bowl, so it was refreshing.
The melt-in-your-mouth roast beef, cooked just rare, melts with every bite, bursting with flavor as the oil melts. Of course, it pairs perfectly with the egg yolk, making it incredibly delicious! However, I recommend skipping the first bite and then adding the egg yolk to your liking from the second bite onward.
Next came the beef bone and salt ramen 🍜
The bowls arrived in the following order: regular ▶︎large ▶︎green onion topping. The first thing that caught my eye was the mountain of white scallions, accented with the crimson of chili oil! I was hoping to enjoy the original flavor of beef bone and salt ramen, so the unexpected addition of chili oil, which wasn't listed on the menu, was a bit disappointing.
Taking a sip of the soup before the spiciness mixed in, I was greeted with a gentle, salty taste, followed by the sweetness of the beef bone. It paired well with the medium-thick, curly noodles, and I couldn't stop eating. The large pork slices were firm yet tender, blending perfectly with the noodles for a delicious meal. The dish also contained bean sprouts and bamboo shoots, so even the green onion topping alone was quite filling, and by the end, we'd run out of noodles. If you're planning on adding any other toppings, a large serving of noodles might be a better balance.
The last dish was the black pork gyoza 🥟
These steamed gyoza were just the right size for an adult to eat in one bite. The filling inside the thin skin seemed a little small, and at first glance, it seemed average...but one bite and my impression completely changed! The strong aroma of chives hit me right in the head, and the juices from the coarsely minced meat filled my mouth. Looking more closely, I noticed that it also contained shiitake mushrooms (?), which I personally found to be an unusual combination. The accompanying sauce was light and tangy. I ate it with ramen, so I preferred dipping it in the ramen broth rather than the sauce.
Because this is an incredibly popular restaurant, the customers were constantly coming and going, and the restaurant always felt hectic. However, the staff were smiling and worked efficiently, and there was no sense of rushing, so it was a comfortable atmosphere.
I'd like to come and eat here again if I have the chance to come to Yonago ♪
