I think they suffer from these reviews. I tried to eat here but was immediately sent away and I could only come back in 6 days! Not sure because I was adressing them in English. Too full for one person while there were empty tables! Lady was unfriendly. They are probably the victim of their own success. Avoid with that kind of attitude.

This is an outstanding restaurant. We absolutely loved the food. Thr Matjes Bruscetta as a starter as well as cod and perch dishes as main corses were out of this world. Nice setting and great service too. Highly recommendable!

The whole area or location is really beautiful that I could have sit there and enjoyed my day. We had dinner in the mellenthin restaurant and the food tasted amazing. The steak was on point and even with 34€ for it, it was worth it. You can taste the beer from the brewery there. And it was good. What I didn't like was the wait for being seated and the ordering of the food. We were in the inside of the restaurant and it felt like...we weren't there. After a while somebody asked and the process could start. So that could be improved and what also could be improved not giving the customers the feeling that they are annoyed. What I didn't like was the 2€ you have to pay for the walkover to the restaurant, even if you'll get it back, when you're going to eat something there. You also have to pay for the parking area.

Can't speak for the rooms as we settled for a little afternoon coffee and had great waffles. The Ambiente is nice and has likely even more charm during summer. The staff was friendly and forthcoming, happy to come back again

I didn't stay here, was only for a visit...that's basically an old ,big, ruined villa, with a hotel within and a restaurant, quite overpriced....there is a canal around it, that is the only highlight worth seeing.....one can easily skip it completely, that is far from a castle....

We made a mistake with our reservation (mixed up the restaurants and had actually reserved two doors down!) but they were very accommodating and placed us at a previously reserved table, booked for 90 min later. The quality of the food was good; "bodenständig" as a German would say. The choice of wines, particularly by the glass, was however a little limited. There are definitely worse places to eat in Bansin. Make sure to reserve a table in advance.

After cycling 18kms with pleasant expectations of a yummy lunch, we arrived just at 11am. My husband need to use the toilet as he came out he was spoken to be a large untidy man accusing him of not paying for the toilet. As ONLY guests got it free. And regardless of whether we wanted to be a guest or not it was used before 11am and so we couldn't be guests. He was aggressive to us both and intolerant to my poor German. This was definitely a case of German over correctness.. We saddly left without lunch and a very bitter taste to the good memories we had there from other times. We had among other things the veal cheeks, fish soup, turbot and pike perch, which tasted excellent. We ordered cool beers to go with the food, which also went very well. Another surprise was that we received dessert as a gift, probably due to the accident that had temporarily shut down the kitchen. In any case, a very nice gesture. But now we unfortunately come to the point of criticism. The service was very attentive and brisk, until the moment when it came to the billing. Since we were sitting in a circle of friends, we had asked that the bill be split. The first two people paid and I wanted to take the rest of the bill for 3 more people. The service person calculated something on the cell phone and showed us the remaining amount, which we then also paid with a generous tip. Only when we were home, we checked the bill and we noticed that we were charged about 110 Złoty (about 23,20€) too much. Perhaps the previous amounts were not correctly subtracted from the total bill. We suspect that this was not a deliberate intention and this was due to the situation with the average/power failure and the resulting stress. It is also our fault that we did not notice this immediately, but only at home when it was already too late. Thus, we could not discuss the situation on the spot. Nevertheless, this should not happen in a restaurant. The food and the ambience were great. Unfortunately, this billing error spoiled our evening very much in retrospect. Here, the bathrobes are especially for the use in the wellness area and were therefore of a very good quality. The buffet area had everything necessary. There were fresh baked goods, various yoghurts, muesli, jams, honey, cold cuts and fish, as well as small glasses of various prepared salads. There was also a lot of cheese and - we were amazed - all kinds of lactose-free milk products (milk, yogurt, butter) as also fresh soy milk. All the staff, from the reception to the chambermaid up to the service at the breakfast - were remarkably friendly and obliging. We felt very comfortable at Das Ahlbeck at all times and recommend this 4-star house.

I had a very nice fish prepared with mushrooms on a canopy of Lentils. The fries were fresh and everything was nicely seasoned. The small issue was the spinach in the other dish which had sand in it which is probably because it wasn't thoroughly rinsed before cooking. But the waitress was nice to check with the kitchen and offer an additional glass of wine which we refused. They removed the cup of tea from our bill which was very considerate of them.

A great restaurant for a good meal. Excellent fresh fish, knowledgeable and helpful staff and overall a good experience. Possibly not great for kids as it's slightly upmarket but ideally for couples. Not quite on the beach and so without a view, but dont let that put you off, you are there for the food.

Having never eaten flounder, my husband opted to try this speciality of the day. It was a bag of bones which made the meal tedious for both of us! Very posh, very busy, but we ate in other places that were as good, as authentic and better priced.

my wife and i had the pleasure to dine at zum smutje , probably the best dining experience we have ever had, the atmosphere, the people, the food and drink. we were there about a year ago and we still talk about it and hold everything else to it's standard. not to be missed and i hope we get to germany again so we can go there. if everybody ran their business like this the world would be a wonderful place.

Food is really good and since it was our wedding anniversary we called to book a table and got one at the window. They asked my husband on the phone if he would like flowers on the table and he said yes, but once there we were told that we had to buy them for 10€. The prices were not as steep as we thought, considering this is Germany, and we were paying in euros: 7.90 euros for an Ahlbecker Fisheintopf; 6.90 Schnitzel with veggies 5.30 for fries (for the kids) 5.50 for half liter of Hefeweizen!

The best food we had in Ahlbeck. A cut above other restaurants that work on the principle of quantity over quality. If the menu had changed we would have eaten here more than once. Good for vegetarians and happy to accommodate dogs. We will definitely return.
