Restaurant
Restaurante San Miguel is a must-visit in Ribadeo, offering a delightful dining experience with its specialty in Asturian cuisine. The restaurant boasts a balcony overlooking the estuary, providing a picturesque backdrop for enjoying their delectable dishes. From traditional favorites like fabada and pote asturiano to seafood delights such as mussels, prawns, lobster, and the catch of the day, every dish is prepared using top-quality ingredients.
For a guaranteed enjoyment be sure to make a reservation in advance. The staff is very friendly and fairly professional. We had a HUGE and well cooked steak with fries ans pimientos de padron. And the black squid with rice and potatoes (?). And a fresh salad with Tuna, tomatoes and red onions. Served with tasty Bread like fresh from the oven. All very tasty and more than an adult can eat. The staff wouldn't mind to make ma a doggy bag for taking approximately 500g of my delicious steak back to our ship. All food and wine (bottle of Gewürztraminer) was justified the price. My cooking advice for the squid: A bit more seasoning, salt and lime juice would leave a more balanced taste. Better don't combine rice with potatoes. Change potatoes for fresh vegetables. For instance: stir fried Broccoli or sweet paprika, zucchini and egg plant. Thank you for the friendly service and nice food. Will be back on our next stop in Ribadeo.

Location : At side of Port Ribadeo Service : Stander Food : local and seafood We went for the seafood rice for lunch . All the food is good and tasty. Their seafood rice with lobster is especially satisfied. Every summer I go there for this. The fish is also super good . The restaurant has a good view of Port . Ps: always reserve in the summer . Around have free parking
Rebecca Z — Google review
The food was pretty good and the restaurant was big enough for a good amount of people to be there. The view is incredible too, truly loved the area. The service was not bad but they were very dry and in a rush which is understandable because of the amount of people but I just felt rushed and a bit uncomfortable
Nicole F — Google review
The food was disgraceful, lamb cutlets were like rubber boots, one steak (which was asked for medium rare) was barely edible and the second steak was asked for well done “no pink or blood” and came like the photo below. All food was left on the plate and no staff even bothered to ask if everything was okay or what was wrong. Very disappointing. Waste of €70.

A very good restaurant in a beautiful spot with great menu. Loved the fish which was so fresh and tasty. Service is good and fair price and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Recommended by our bungalow host, and glad she did. A fabulous restaurant in a fantastic location serving quality seafood. Worth a visit if in the vicinity.

Made reservations at the restaurant. They only open at 9pm for dinner. The staff was friendly and there was english menu. The scallops were well cooked and was delicious. The hake fish cheek had a bit of a stale taste and i felt it wasnt really fresh. The restaurant had good views over the channel.

Restaurante La Solana is a charming establishment in Ribadeo, Spain, boasting a rustic ambiance with wooden floors and stone walls. Renowned for its Galician stews, grilled meats, and rice dishes, this restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience. Situated at Rua Antonio Otero 41, it serves delectable seafood along with Mediterranean and European cuisine.
A few years ago, the monkfish tail here was really unforgettable, with a cute plate, round bread on the table, everything was finger-licking, and I came back again. The monkfish cooking method has changed to an ordinary fish dish, but fortunately the seafood 🦞 paella is absolutely five stars, not too salty, everything just right!! Oysters are fresh and sweet. Still will keep come back here again on my next trip. :)

EDIT!!! WARNING - Prices outside are different from what they have in the restaurant … would have left a good bote but these things should be revisited by the owner… if you change the the price … CHANGE EVERYWHERE. Also on the outdated website - Nice place for a pit stop (open on Monday night) … 🐙 order yes or yes 👍🏻

Absolutely amazing. I had the Hake fish in Sider sauce and this has to be the best plate of sea food / fish I’ve had since arriving into Galicia. Service was very good. Professional. Wine was beautiful with plenty of options. Thankyou and hopefully we will book again before returning to Scotland
Juan G — Google review
It was absolutely delicious and expertly prepared dishes. Octopus, lubina and merluza all cooked to perfection. Service was marvelous and professional with wonderful recommendations. It is kid friendly too with a kids menu. We can't wait to be back to try more dishes.

We went to this place with 6. Ordered dinner. The food was good, as was the wine. The waiter was unresponsive, we had to ask several times if we needed something and the place wasn't crowded all. The portions were good. The price is high. The bread that they put on the table costs 1,2 eur per person, this isn't indicated anywhere. If you don't want this tell the waiter to take it away.

Excellent and highly recommended restaurant! Please try Pulpo à galega, Mini vieiras and Paella de Marisco, it’s amazing there!

The quality of the dishes and the price system are acceptable. The stereotyped impression of some service staff is puzzling and can even be ignored. After all, there are many better restaurants to choose from in town.

Rice restaurant A Cofradia de Rinlo is a local favorite for its arroz caldoso, seafood broth with rice. The restaurant also serves baked and grilled fish. It's a great place to go for lunch or dinner, and it's also open late night. Parking is available, and the restaurant accommodates wheelchairs.
The best arroz caldoso at the best price. We ordered 2 portions for 3 people, and it was enough.
Seoyeonjin C — Google review
The Arroz caldoso con Bogabante was fantastic, the best I ever had, full of flavour and Bogabante, and the cheesecake (Spanish style) was amazing. But the service was very poor, maybe because we arrived at the "rush hour". On a sunny warm day the terrace is very pleasant. No doubt that is a place to visit for the food. It is highly recommended to make a reservation. If you want to have any of their special dishes (such as the Arroz caldoso con Bogabante) indicate it at the moment of making the reservation. Very reasonable prices for the quality and quantity of the food.
Pedro T — Google review
Good food (especially "pulpo") and picturesque place Dog friendly!
Olga S — Google review
We had an amazing experience at A Cofradía de Rinlo! The location is stunning, right in the port of Rinlo with beautiful sea views. The seafood was incredibly fresh; I especially loved the "arroz caldoso de marisco" – it was bursting with flavor. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made the meal even more enjoyable. The service was top-notch, attentive without being intrusive. I highly recommend making a reservation to ensure a spot. This place is a true gem for anyone visiting Galicia!
Raouf A — Google review
The food was not special . The rice was overcooked and the taste of the sauce was very mild. The waiters didn’t ask if we need appetizers they just put the arroz and they forgot to serve the break. The service and experience was below average. The coffee tasted horrible. The check had a mistake. The overall experience was average.

Casa Villaronta is a veteran stone-walled taverna in Ribadeo, known for its delicious Galician octopus, squid, and empanadas. The restaurant has been family-owned for over 40 years and is a popular spot among locals and visitors alike. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the service is fast and accommodating, making it suitable for families with children.
My friends who are from the area and love food took me there and it did not disappoint. It's known for its pulpo (octopus) and despite me not being a big fan I am now a convert! I enjoyed everything we ordered and the desserts were also really good. The place was packed and full with locals but despite everything the service was pretty decent. Absolutely recommended
Tam G — Google review
Not recommended vermouth, cute vibes on this street, good stop for octopus 🐙

Absolutely amazing! Never had nicer pulpo nor Croquetas de Marisco. Service is really great too, Teresa very nice and friendly, great suggestions!! Can’t wait to come back. It’s something special.
Benedetta C — Google review
Overpriced small portions. The pork was old over cold french fries. The Squid came with potato chips out of a bag. The wine was good but the two dishes did not justify the price charge.
Ethiopianic — Google review
Decent food and wine, not expensive too.
Maksim S — Google review
Our first visit to the area and we noticed the restaurant the day we arrived - walking by, it was very busy with a great “vibe”. We finally stopped in today. Not being from Spain we were a little timid, but we were seated quickly and the service was fast and very accommodating for a family of 5 with little kids. The food was amazing - the best pulpo and calamares we’ve ever had!!! Mil gracias!!
J S — Google review
Service was miserable, let us standing in the rain outside for ten minutes. Food was okay, but overpriced. Did not offer any help with choosing food even though we were obviously tourists. Pulpo was ok.

Location: Center Service : Stander . They are very nice but really busy Price : 25-30 euros pp Food : Good seafood The place is very famous for Pulpo . But today the patata not cook so good a bit hard . Also the zamburiña is over cooked . PS: better book first otherwise need wait .

This rustic-chic restaurant serves some of the best seafood in all of Spain, including lobster. The décor is interesting and colorful, and the service is excellent. You'll definitely want to make a reservation if you're planning on coming here.
Great portions and quality at a good price. Service very attentive. Typical "Arroz con Bogavante" but all the dishes are delicious at a moderate price. To drink, a bottle of "Albariño". Saturdays and Sundays essential to book, although you can have luck getting a table. Dont forget to order "arroz con leche" and "Tarta de queso" for dessert.

The rice with Lobster was really tasty. However me and my partner got food poisoning from eating at this place. We had one of the worst nights of our lives and we had never felt so bad in our lives

Notable menu items include the 25 euro chuleton, 15.50 euro pulpo, and 14.50 euro calamares.
We have been coming here for 12 years. Sorry if we are boring but we never eat the meat even though it looks great. We are just too in love with the arroz caldoso con bogavante. It’s just the best

Always good food. Every year we visit Foz and comes here because food is always good and never disappoint. Service is also good but this time I gave only 3 stars on service because of charging us more than we ordered. Bill should be check by the waiter assigned on the table before giving it to your guests. So just double check your bill before paying especially if its a lot of you.

Very good and delicious food.
Miles Z — Google review
Unfortunately we didn't eat anything. The waiters probably thought it was too expensive for us (judging from their head-to-toe look at us), they were wrong... They seated us at the only table in the sun (!), despite other vacancies. We had to leave the premises.
Marika M — Google review
Awesome food, fresh & amazing with a good price,a good wine list etc but the service is a big let down, there’s a waiter who should probably retire if he doesn’t want to work there as his attitude was just bad and gave a very bad image to the place,1-2 waiters were the same, hope they improve
Samuel L — Google review
The fish we ordered had no flavor and the texture was like it spent the night in the freezer. Maybe we were just unlucky that day.

We had a great meal at this restaurant. We over ordered but enjoyed the salpicon, green salad and two different hake dishes. The service was friendly and prompt. Nestled in a picturesque setting, A Horta de San Roque is the perfect dining destination for anyone looking to enjoy a delightful meal. With its stunning terrace that offers a cool respite on hot days, this restaurant creates an inviting atmosphere for families and friends alike. The menu features mouthwatering dishes, particularly the entrecote steak, which has garnered rave reviews from visitors who can't resist returning for more.
I went for a lunch with my family while on holidays. The place is a beautiful restaurant with a impressive terrace in the rear. The weather was hot the day we went for lunch so seating there was pretty cool. The food was amazing and the waiting staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and we had a very lovely time. I have to say that I was positively impressed with the food quality. We had some croquettes and squid to started, followed by their specialty “arroz caldoso”, that is a wet rice dish with seafood (lobster). We loved it. The dessert wasn’t bad either, and one of them was a special remembering for the head chef grandparents as the dessert represents them. I thought it was pretty cool having that special touch celebrating his family’s names. All the experience was great and I fully recommend the place for a special occasion or to go with friends or family. Do not forget to book in advance as they are always busy, and if you want the rice to have to say it when you book as it is by request.

Best restaurant in Spain!!! Pulpo a la brassa, tiramisu and croquettes. Highly recommend the tiramisu especially if you love aesthetic food. It’s cute and tasty!!😎 Pulpo was amazing too. You need a reservation, otherwise you’ll sit in a tent 😉

A Horta is an amazing place to eat. If you enjoy eating steak, have the entrecote. We ended up eating here two days in a row on a road trip because the food is so good. Also, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. ¡Gracias!

Managed to get a table without a reservation in advance. The staff looked after us very well and the steaks were sensational (and huge!!)
SteveG1768 — Google review
The decor is good and the restaurant looks lovely on the inside. The starter of croquetas was a bit oily but the main of churrasco was tasty, if a bit too salty, with the sweetest grilled pepper I have eaten in a while. The dessert of flan de queso, I am sorry to say, was horrendous. The caramel was burnt and bitter and I could not stand eating it. For me, a restaurant is only as good as its dessert and I sorry to say that A Horta de San Roque disappointed me with a sub par dessert.

Parador de Ribadeo is an elegant hotel with spacious, well-insulated rooms and a quiet, polished ambiance. While some rooms may lack views, the cleanliness and comfort are consistent. The highlight of this establishment is the stunning views of Ria de Ribadeo and the excellent local restaurant with friendly service. However, there have been mixed reviews about the reception and reservation process. Despite this, guests have praised staff members like Mr.
It's a Parador hotel. Everything is up to expectation. It's five min off Camino del Norte. Breakfast at the earliest is at 7:30. Peregrino on Camino de Santiago may be eligible for special rates if booked directly with the hotel, limited availability. Very impressive view out from the breakfast room.

Beautiful place if you want view over Fjord. Beautiful woman in reception, service optimal, clean room, wifi chromecast friendly tv. Just need more nights, but fully booked 😪💖

Our first time in a parador and it was lovely. Nice old building, great location on the river close to town. Good service. Comfy beds. Big good quality towels. Good breakfast choice Only lost a star because it does smell a bit damp in places
Caroline S — Google review
I stayed here for two nights while walking the Camino del Norté. I booked a room with a balcony and it ended up having an indoor and outdoor balcony, which was a lovely surprise! The hotel is slightly dated, but clean and in a great location. Breakfast was ok. They didn't cook eggs to order, which they do in every Parador I have stayed in, so this was surprising to me. Great location and the wait staff and housekeeping were very friendly.
Monica O — Google review
We stayed in Parador Ribadeo. A nice hotel but be careful. If you book a standard room, you will get a room with hidden view in the basement courtyard. We booked with booking but were only aware once paid and confirmation was received. Also, we had sandwiches for lunch there and they were awful, the worst in north Spain. Steak in a bagiette was very tough and my roast pork with goats cheese had 2 slices of somę ham meat and one of goats cheese in between 3 toasts, no salade or tomotoe for 13 euro. I expect more from Parador. The chef should get some training how to make sandwiches. See pictures below and learn, these were the toasts we had in a cafe in Finister.
Magdalena K — Google review
Excellent service, food, and location. The place for quiet evening cocktails.

What a special place! There is something surreal and very special about the location; the Parador and the gorgeous views. The food at the restaurant was also fabulous! Well located, just outside town but walking distance. Wish we had stayed longer!

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Asturias, O Tumbin Ponte dos Santos is a delightful eatery that captures the essence of traditional Asturian cuisine. This cozy spot offers an unpretentious atmosphere where you can savor hearty dishes like bean stew and cabbage rolls, perfect for those seeking comfort food. The restaurant is particularly popular among pilgrims, especially on Sundays when grocery stores are closed; diners rave about their filling meals featuring octopus and rice stew alongside fried squid and homemade bread.
An absolutely perfect and filling meal for a Pilgrim on a Sunday when the grocery stores were closed. Very traditional food - octopus and rice stew, fried squid and french fries plus bread, wine and dessert. Definitely recommended.

Rather bad value for money. Not really recommended. P.S.: Reply to the owner: we ordered Fabada Asturias twice and got basically a big bowl of beans for 30 Euros as pictured. You had to use a microscope to find the sausages and meat. Cost for the ingredients was probably 1-2 Euros. Other reviews sound similar, go check your business model. Reduced rating to one star.

La Quinta Ribadeo is a rustic eatery that specializes in traditional grilled meat dishes and seafood delicacies. Their homestyle desserts are also worth trying. The restaurant is highly recommended for its delectable grilled offerings, which are cooked to perfection on charcoal. One standout dish is the grilled pulpo, while the grilled Black Angus beef arrives with a stone plate for customers to cook it to their liking. Pairing these dishes with a glass of red wine creates an enjoyable dining experience.
Go for the grilled dishes, highly recommended!! After having steam pulpo for a few days, we were craving for something grilled on charcoal. So, we ordered the grilled pulpo, it was grilled to perfection. And the grilled Black Angus beef came slided and you grilled to your liking on a stone plate, pairing with a red wine, we had so much fun dining at this place.

Truly spectacular Galician meal. It's on the main road between Ribadeo and Playa de las Catedrales (about 15 minutes from that beach), this restaurant looks like just a roadside stop from the outside but it's really worth a visit for lunch. My husband and I shared a plate of pulpo (the best octopus I've ever had, and I've had a lot because my husband is from Cantabria), and one Menu del Dia plus - for 19.50 EUR it included delicious seafood croquetas, a great BBQ meat platter (churrasco) and a delicious Tarta de Abuela. Excellent food, nice ambiance and great service from Guillermo. Will come back for sure!

Additionally they serve hamburgers. The restaurant provides options for both takeaway and dining in.
Best Pizza we have had . Great service. Great surroundings. fab staff .highly recommended .

First time there, notice alot of locals so I assume is very popular. Maybe the pizzas are good but I ate a "Tony's burguer" but it was a bit raw. When I showed the waiter, I explained I ate almost everything and didn't notice until then, to which she sad "the point of the meat is medium to medium rare", which I replied "you're right but this is raw", as I showed her the burger. No apology, nor did she ask me if I wanted. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the burger but it was the lack of proper service (that is why I gave a 2 star). Other than that, I assume the place is popular for a reason. But I didn't found one...
Tomás N — Google review
It's my third time here and I did like the place because it has a little more variety than other Galician places. Unfortunately the non meat dishes haven't been available "today". The other time they put meat on my vegetarian sandwich after asking the waitress for non meat dishes. The 3rd tine we order the potatatas but they fried them together with meat or something because they tasted like bacon. Also after telling them we dont like meat. I understand that it is still not a common thing to not eat meat in this area and I am nothing but patient but sometimes too much is too much.. All in all for someone who eats everything this might be great place. Oh wifi doesn't work..

Ordered for take out and our pizza wasn’t cut. We only realized when we’re already back at the hotel and didn’t bother to go back. Not sure if this is how people eat pizza around here?? Had to rip it apart ourselves or bit it off. Not cool.

Nice place to eat. We didn't go for the pizzas but had a some potato dishes instead. All food was very good. A vege burger, some big fries and a salsa thin cut tatties with variety of sauces. Staff we fine but kept very busy. Place was filling up quick when we were at the place. Lots of families with kids. 😁😁

Our experience with a family of 5 was amazing! The service was kind, fast and detail oriented. We were, after seating, able to order our drinks immediately. As they came, we ordered our food and the quality as will the size of the nachos or pizza feed us all.

Really nice pizza. First time trying this place in Ribadeo and I’ve got to say it was nice. Very good value for money. We sat outside as inside was far to noisy. But we had a lovely meal. A nice change. Now back to Scotland for us :(
Juan G — Google review
Went here for early dinner on a Sunday and luckily got a table strait away, which seems quite of a challenge if you arrive at regular hours (I’d say from 9PM). The food was decent. The pizza felt quite heavy maybe due to the amount of cheese. Also flavour wise I didn’t find them amazing. It is tricky trying to reinvent the pizza and just topping up with “local ingredients” doesn’t work. The service was fast and the restaurant quite busy and noisy to the point was difficult to have a conversation. I think 3 🌟 is a good review considering there’s nothing outstanding here.

Restaurante A Mirandilla is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience, especially for seafood lovers. The menu features delightful starters like grilled clams and ends on a sweet note with desserts such as torrija and chocolate coulant.
Absolutely fabulous! Friendly, relaxed but very attentive staff, and some outstanding “Arroz Caldoso”, with large chunks of lobster and Almejas. If you are close by, drop by, you won’t regret it, they have very fair prices as well!

Very very good, we ate outside on the small terrace but there are some tables upstairs too. Fine service, when you are with two, a starter is not necessary if you order rice with lobster (60 euro) wich is plenty for three persons. We paid 20 for the clams as a starter. A place where locals come too....
Marky M — Google review
My wife and I used to love this place. Very good food. The staff were not nice at all the first two times we came, but we enjoyed the food a lot and we thought it was unique (we were wrong) so we compromised a little bit. Anyway, we wanted to come back to celebrate my mother in law’s birthday. We called multiple times over 5 days in a row, all during working hours. They did not answer the phone once. We skipped Mirandilla and went to another restaurant instead for her birthday. Another weekend came and we were in the area, so we decided to pass by Mirandilla and have lunch there. We walked in (we were very happy and excited) and asked for a table, they said “you need to call in advance if you want a table here”. We told them that we’ve been trying to call for a long time (over 15 days now). They said “well, we’re not able to answer the phone because we have too many calls coming in” and it was said to us in such a rude way, dismissing us. They didn’t even offer us a chance to have a drink or a tapa, when they clearly had some space to host us for at least a drink. I will never ever go back there, luckily, we found a restaurant nearby with a similar menu, better vibes, better prices, and staff that is 1000x nicer and more hospitable.

We've thoroughly enjoyed the experience of eating here. It was a sunny day, which is rare around here, from what I've read. We took the table with the best view in the front balcony. The combination of an albariño (from Rias Baixas, on the west coast of Galiza) with Zamburiñas a la plancha was one of the best gastronomical experiences I ever had. I'll surely come back for this. The Fabas com Almejas was very good as well, only the mejillones en escabeche we're not so good, and are the source of the 4 stars. Otherwise everything was above average, including the service.

Well, I am confused and sad to give a low rating for the food. Let me explain a bit. We went there with high expectations as it should be one of the best pulperias nearby. But, the pulpo was not good at all. I will be crucified for this, but I had much better pulpo in Costa Brava :P. Jamon Cocido was a disaster, too hard to bite. The chorizo and queso were of medium-low quality, and I think if they reduce the portion size, they can use a higher quality of cheese, and it will be just better. On the other hand, and this was a saver of the dinner, was Navajas. OMG, one of the best I've had. True and deliciously true. I hope the rest of the medium-low quality food we had was just a mistake, and I encourage others to give them a chance! For tonight, I am sorry, but overall it was not good (except Navajas). Take care!

We made the mistake of not checking the Google reviews of this restaurant and we were met with terrible service by a horrible waiter and even worse food. The fish they brought was visibly old with a smell I cannot even describe. It tasted like it had been left in the bottom of the cooler for weeks. We were 4 people and none of us could eat our food. We couldn’t even eat the bread. Even though we left all our plates untouched, they wanted us pay the whole amount. When we went to pay the price of the menu had magically increased from what the waiter had announced at the beginning of the meal, a real scam. Definitely pay attention to the bad reviews of this place and AVOID yourself a terrible experience.

Pulperia A Menchina is highly regarded as one of the top dining spots in Ribadeo, offering a multitude of reasons why it has earned its reputation. With an exceptional value for a complete meal, including appetizers, main course, wine, and coffee, patrons can enjoy a satisfying feast fit for royalty without breaking the bank. The restaurant's seafood dishes are particularly outstanding, serving generous portions that showcase superb quality.
A Menchina was a revelation on a yearly family trip last year. They sat us in the back (i.e. the more formal dining room) and were delighted with everything that came out of the kitchen. Family run, their brand of hospitality is as warm as it is professional. Then it is the food that I have to rave about! Last year we went for more traditional fare, which was all exceptional: best ingredients, done right. This year we had to come back! We booked a table in the same area (although they will serve the same menu in the traditional bar area) and went for the house recommendations: the grilled-to-perfection octopus, Galician grass fed beef rib eye, a truffly wild mushroom risotto —crowned with Galician beef filet, chestnut-fed pork “secreto ibérico”… all phenomenal. Their wine recommendations were on point as well (also not the priciest on the list). A solid five stars! Thank you, A Menchina! We will be back next year.

The service was pretty good but food wise, it is difficult to find many positives. The food is incredibly overpriced for what it is. We originally thought we could order off the blackboard which looked quite an interesting menu but had no prices. We were then given a menu and were asked to order from there. We thought the menu was pricey compared to other restaurants in the region but took a chance. But that was a mistake - the octopus (€18.50) and the scallops (€18.00) were really over-seasoned and were actually quite unpleasant to eat as a result. We ordered the chicken dish which turned out to be dry popcorn chicken without any dip/condiment and tasted like it was cooked from frozen - ridiculous this cost 9 euros. The salad had poor ingredients and plastic pots of oil as the dressing and was 5 euros. Ultimately, the food was really disappointing and we have left feeling confused about the good reviews and wishing we had tried elsewhere for our meal. I would recommend this place for a beer and they do have some outdoor seating.
Rebecca H — Google review
After reading many positive reviews, with an average of 4.5 stars, we were expecting much more. The food was bad: the pulpo al ajillo was excessively salty (this coming from my wife, who likes salty food), the pimientos de padrón were burnt and bitter (after eating excellent pimientos de padrón about a dozen times in Galicia, this was a disappointment), and the pastel de cabracho tasted meh. We ended up leaving half of the pastel and pimientos uneaten, and my wife had two beers to wash off the salt of the octopus.

Restaurante Parador de Ribadeo, located in an ancient palace with breathtaking views of the Eo estuary, offers a truly unique dining experience. This Mediterranean and European restaurant showcases the rich flavors of Spanish cuisine throughout the day, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, and drinks. The establishment provides highchairs for families and caters to various dietary needs. With a full bar offering wine and beer, patrons can relax while enjoying their meal.

Ståle G — Google review

What a special place! There is something surreal and very special about the location; the Parador and the gorgeous views. The food at the restaurant was also fabulous! Well located, just outside town but walking distance. Wish we had stayed longer!

Nestled in a picturesque location, Náutico Restaurante offers an unforgettable dining experience that seafood lovers will cherish. The menu features standout dishes like the arroz caldosa with lobster and the renowned Basque cheesecake, both of which have garnered rave reviews for their exceptional flavors and creamy textures. While the service may occasionally be a bit slow, it doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment of your meal.
By far one of the best restaurants I've been to. The location is beautiful, the food is amazing and the service is friendly. They have the best Basque cheesecake. Definitely recommend!!

The food was fabulous! We had the arroz caldosa with lobster and it was perfect! We also tried the cheesecake, and it was the basque cheesecake, super creamy and delicious! I can’t rave about the service, was a bit slow to attend us, but when you get your food in the end, can’t complain. There are two parts of this restaurant the comedor and the regular bar. We got placed in the comedor, a bit fancier and expensive, next time I’d try the bar area as it is probably the same food!

I visited this restaurant with my family on May 2nd and was extremely disappointed with the service. Upon arrival, we were initially told there were no tables available; however, moments later, we were seated. After being seated, we experienced significant delays, waiting 20 minutes just to receive the menu and an additional 30 minutes for our drinks. When we voiced our concerns, the staff simply told us we had to wait. Given the lack of courtesy and efficiency, I have decided not to return and have also filed a complaint with the local council. I recommend others steer clear of this establishment to avoid a similarly frustrating experience.we ended up leaving the table . Horrible experience

Nestled in the charming town of Ribadeo, Hotel Restaurante Javier Montero is a delightful retreat that seamlessly blends comfort with culinary excellence. The hotel boasts casual yet modern rooms, providing a cozy atmosphere for guests. However, the true star here is the restaurant, which offers an exquisite dining experience that feels both serene and intimate.
Nice and cozy room. Wonderful and friendly staff and the cleanest hotel we have ever visited!
Nicolai C — Google review
Javier Montero’s restaurant is a haven of gastronomic delight—serene, discreet, and slightly tucked away. A quiet understatement that conceals a true gem of Galician cuisine: the sublime express menu, served at a leisurely pace. Three impeccable starters lead into a main course, followed by a dessert—all extraordinary. The aubergine is otherworldly, the sirloin, pure dream. After just one visit, it’s not just a place to eat—it’s a place to return to, time and again, a quiet obsession in the making. The Guide rarely fails.

I wish I could give Javier more than 5 stars! 🎖 The service is absolutely impeccable and the ambiance is just absolutely perfect. I look forward the entire year until my summer vacation to travel to Ribadeo and enjoy Javi's culinary master works. It is by far one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I have tried Michelin restaurants across Europe, Asia, and North America - and not one of them compares to Javi's cuisine. Fresh, savoury, authentic, local, and each dish uniquely crafted to perfection. I'm counting the days until my next visit next summer! :-)

Diners rave about the freshness of their grilled octopus and calamari, both cooked to perfection. Don't know why this place has some good reviews- maybe by friends. Food is standard, small choice of what you get everywhere, like patatas bravas - and they are no bravas at all: french fries smimming in ketchup. Staff is completely uninterested and unfriendly. Better choose the one next door or in front (it's my fault, should have known it: the other restaurants are much more crowded by locals)

(Translated by Google) We had grilled octopus and calamari for dinner, and both dishes were very delicious, you could tell that the product was fresh. The waitresses were very friendly and even gave our dogs a water bowl (not usually the case when we go to a terrace). What we already loved was the dessert: three chocolate cake. I recommend it 100%.

(Translated by Google) Good portions and at a good price. The egg casserole with generous and tasty zorza, the large cachopo, the portion of padrón peppers are worth it (although I don't bite any of them). The waiters are a little uncoordinated, there was a bit of a mess with the drinks, but nothing notable. The site has an indoor area for lunch/dinner and a terrace. To highlight something, we went around 9:30 p.m. and we wanted to try several dishes such as: squid, turnip tops with seafood or the pan of mushrooms, vegetables and foie, but they told us that "they didn't have any left", we had to adapt the order. (Original) Buenas raciones y a buen precio.

Visited for a quick bite to eat last night. The waitress was incredibly rude, impatient and obviously disliked the English and our limited Spanish. My husband tried to ask her a question and she snarled at him. We should have left then but didn’t for some reason. We ordered the hamburger and chicken burger with patatas and 2 red wines. The wine was decent but fairly expensive. The beef burger was tasty but the chicken burger was terrible quality and nasty. The potato wedges were nothing special. We would never accept service like this in England. It was our last night of the holiday and gives a poor reflection of Ribadeo.

José Luis and his wife (the cook) are excellent, friendly, and genuine hosts of their homeland. The food is high-quality and the prices are fantastic. Thank you so much! We'll be back. Today we ate: Galician broth, tuna with salad, and cottage cheese with honey, along with tea or coffee. Initially we were wiery to stay at this hotel, based on previous reviews. But we had no other choice and decided to stay over. The place looked a bit rundown and the host seemed distant and unfriendly at first. However, he warmed up at dinner and did his utmost to make us feel welcome. We had a very heart warming dinner at a reasonable price. The host really tried his best to make us feel welcome and ensure that we had enough to eat. The food was delicious and large servings. We really enjoyed our stay.

There are no other houses nearby. The rooms are new but small, and although I requested a twin room, they only had doubles. Dinner seemed to be a set menu, consisting of ganiella soup and seafood stew with rice. It was a relief after having eaten so many oily meals up until then. The portions were so large we couldn't finish them, but the waiter shared them among us, encouraging us to eat. Since it's on the side of the road, I expected there to be a lot of traffic, but there were no cars passing by at all, and it was a quiet night. We also ordered a combination plate of meat and another of chicken, both had fries that were good, the tomato was very tasty as was the lettuce, which was fresh. What we didn't like at all is that they will charge us for a couple of pieces of bread that we didn't ask for. VERY BADLY. Service: The kids who helped us did it in a good way, although one of them was a little confused. But overall good. I made the mistake of going alone and it is not what I was looking for. The place was very closed, it had no windows to the outside. You can see how they cook, which I like, it looks like it's run by a family, maybe I'm wrong. I ordered a burger, special Buzo, which is the one you see in the photo, it looks very good, but honestly it doesn't taste like anything. It's not a burger with great meat. The bread was good, but after a while it became soft. I also asked to bring a loin baguette. When I went to eat it, it was inedible, very bad bread, soft, that took away all the flavor, and didn't let you taste the loin. Second, the food took 1 hour and 20 minutes to bring it, there were children, one was crying because he was hungry and the other fell asleep waiting, and after we complained two or three times, they started bringing it to us. When there was a table of 9, it arrived later and they brought it to them before us. The wine arrived at the table open, served at room temperature, and the temperature was about 22 degrees Celsius. We asked for one of the meat dishes to be removed because it was so tough we couldn't chew it. The other was a Segovian pork knuckle, and we opted to eat the potatoes and the edges, which were a little overcooked. Overall, we left hungry and feeling ripped off. I think that to run a restaurant, they should have a minimum level of knowledge about service and cooking; not everything is worth it. Nestled in the charming town of Ribadeo, Araucaria Gastronómico is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. During a recent visit, I stumbled upon this extraordinary restaurant and was immediately captivated by its colonial-style ambiance and impeccable service. The tasting menu was a feast for the senses, showcasing exquisite local ingredients crafted into delightful dishes. Each course was thoughtfully presented, with elegant appetizers setting the stage for what would be an exceptional meal.
(Translated by Google) We have got it right. We took some friends to get to know Araucaria's cuisine and they loved it. They put butter and a little empanada while you wait for the starters. The spectacular starters: scallops, croquettes and pate. The meats and fish have great flavor and good size. As for desserts, we are fans of the brownie with lemon ice cream. I recommend coming to enjoy its terrace and its food. (Original) Hemos acertado.

(Translated by Google) The five stars fall short. We go with reservation. Located in Ribadeo, in a beautiful blue house, this gastronomic space is located in its garden. Its decoration is cared for in detail, with pretty lights, Parisian chairs and a beautiful garden. But their food is even more careful, one of the best dinners of my life without a doubt. As an appetizer they give you a little empanada, delicious seasoned mussels and salted butter that they make themselves, very good. We ordered everything to share, we started with the zamburiñas, made scallop style, with albariño, onion and bread (not the typical grated one, one more level) baked, spectacular. We continued with the steak tartare, incredible, we had never tried it with parmesan, it is a very good combination, and the dressing with mustard, capers... very good. We continued with the roast beef, which was delicious, at this point in the dinner we had already fallen in love with their cuisine, they served it as a salad with parmesan flakes, purple potatoes and a very rich vinaigrette with a sweet touch like cherry. To finish, the jewel of the dinner, grilled loin, its grilled flavor is truly incredible, it is accompanied with potatoes, the only drawback is that I would add a little more accompaniment, be it more potatoes, sweet potatoes... We accompanied the dinner with one of my favorite wines that they don't usually have anywhere, the godello Gaba do xil. The girl in the room was very friendly the entire time and so was the waiter, explaining each dish. We paid a total of 108 euros, a very good price given the quality of the menu. One more problem, we have you very far away! We will surely return just to eat at your restaurant again. Again, congratulations to all the team and the chef, thank you for a wonderful dinner.

La Flor de José is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly the lenguado a la plancha, featuring perfectly crispy fish that tantalizes your taste buds. Additionally, their seafood soup, known as sops de pescado, stands out as one of the finest I've encountered during my travels in Galicia. Each dish bursts with flavor and showcases the region's rich maritime heritage.
Delicious food. The lenguado a la plancha is this crispy delicious fish. And the seafood soup (sops de pescado) is the best I’ve had in my trip to Galicia yet. Yum.
Charlie F — Google review
I agree with other reviewers, try to skip this place. If your tour operator recommends it (like mine did) ignore and Google maps search something better. The seafood was not fresh, actually slimy and stinky. When asked why I didn’t eat much, I told them it didn’t seem fresh to me and they did nothing to rectify the situation. The servers were rude, impatient and not very attentive. This isn’t how you interact with customers, particularly tourists - when the place is knowingly overpriced.
Preethee — Google review
Were recommended this restaurant by our hotel receptionist as a nice, local restaurant. You’ll find loads of locals having a drink but very little (actually, none eating). Turned out to be a fraud. Overpriced meals, very little variety, not really Galician… their fish is not fresh, they serve it cold and in general the food is terrible. The Bacalao made my stomach queasy - had an awful reaction to it. My friend had Patron Peppers, which had a bad taste too. Avoid going to this restaurant. The worst restaurant of our trip and the most expensive (take into account we did go to a Michelin star!) Go to the Main Street, you’ll find better options. Even the touristy traps; they are less than a trap. You’ll have lovely food there!

Gambas en allios and the wok of vegetables and fish were not fresh, likely thawed. I don't recommend.

The food took way to long. The waitress showed no interest and was mean, didnt brought any food before the main meal and sadly the main plate was not enough in the end.

Nice coffee bar and I'm told, but do not have experience of it, a very good restaurant upstairs. The only problem I have is that dogs are allowed inside, this is a food environment and I do not believe it hygenic to have dogs inside specially when you see the staff petting the animal and then handing out tapas without washing their hands. With a little attention, I would comfortably give 5 stars
Danny M — Google review
The food was fine, but tapas were passed around several times and the table with tourists, us, was continuously skipped. When paying, I can't escape the impression that I deliberately received much too little money back and that they tried an exchange trick.

Restaurante A Pena-Vilela is a charming establishment that offers a delightful experience for travelers seeking comfort and good food. Nestled in the countryside, this albergue boasts spacious accommodations and a lovely garden with stunning views, perfect for unwinding after a long day on the road. The owners bring an eccentric yet warm touch to the place, creating an inviting atmosphere filled with character. Guests can enjoy hearty meals at reasonable prices, with standout dishes like grilled fish paired with house wine being highly recommended.

This was a clean, roomy, well run Albergue. I loved the view from the garden. The owners were excentric but have good intentions. The farmers coming in regularly remind pilgrims that this is a local establishment with lots character and not a tourist trap. The food was hardy. Prices were reasonable.

Bad attitude and rude. I assume talking behind backs and trying to earn as much as possible. Seems like he is not interested in having clients. Screaming and gossiping thinking that we don’t understand anything. We have places to compare and this is the worst. We almost everywhere leave tips because we appreciate good humanly attitude, but here we didn’t have any desire. And whatever they will write to defend themselves and say about us, IT IS ALL about attitude!!! Isn’t it strange that we are not the only clients that leaves a bad review?? Even if we ordered just a sip of water, aren’t we still clients? We did leave quite much money and basically for nothing. There was hair in a salad and the vine was also strange. We do not complain about that. Those are small things. Attitude, my friends. No respect. Stay away. Aggressive and inadequate. Basically, not interested in clients.

Very simply, if you are a peregrino staying at the albergue, and wish to visit the restaurant for food and drink, I am sure it is possible to have a positive experience at this restaurant. However as a pilgrim who arrived with an injured thigh amongst others who had reserved their place at this albergue, I decided to rest outside and wait for them for 1 hour until the restaurant opened for service, to have drinks. I was told by the bar-man to move from my seat as it was on restaurant property, so I did, until I was told that the benches I moved to were also his property (I don’t speak Spanish). His manner was consistently rude, and he absolutely made an effort to be disrespectful to peregrinos not staying in his albergue. I of course apologised and moved, and entered the bar when it opened to ask for a drink, I was refused service for the reason that the restaurant was only in service to those in the albergue, despite there being 4 local men at the bar drinking beer. He rudely walked away before I could enquire as to what exactly the reason was. I left, intending to cause no situation. The flood of negative reviews as well as opinions of fellow pilgrims staying at the albergue, unhappy with the bar-man’s rudeness clearly shows he is a poor host and provides an unwelcoming service to pilgrims. I can not understand why he attempts to defend himself within these reviews despite his behaviour.

Everything fits, the cook is cool, the service woman is amazingly friendly, and finally the food: AMAZING! 💗Small menu with all you need, made with thought and love and to add - really good blanco vine! The price for the food is not cheap but you really get amazing things! If you’re hungry order 3-4 things, a basket of bread and a bottle of vine and you will be really happy : )

(Translated by Google) A complete surprise. We found this restaurant by chance, and it turned out to be one of the best we've ever been to. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, exquisitely, on beautiful plates. The service was very friendly. The decor was thoughtful and tasteful. The only thing I have to admit is that we waited a long time for our food, and each course arrived at a different time. I know a lot of people shared their food, but we didn't intend to, so everyone ate at different times. Secondly, the interior smelled quite intensely of food. Overall, I recommend it for a delicious taste experience.

(Translated by Google) The place is very quiet and cozy with very dim lighting. There were few people (many empty tables), so I didn't understand the... no room thing. You have to keep in mind that you'll either spend a lot of money to go out for a meal or have a snack (still expensive) and then go out for dinner because the dishes, I insist, are very expensive. Six baked scallops cost 18 euros and an octopus dish 20 euros. Water was 2.80 euros, and so on... The octopus wasn't as delicious as you'd think given the price. You have to make a reservation because the place is very small.

(Translated by Google) Unbeatable atmosphere, it is always full, and great food, we are in a tavern. This is what I ordered: - Cova Burger: as I call it, a battle burger, which is not a gastronomical wonder, but it does not leave you indifferent either and at a time when you are simply having something, it takes away your hunger. It has everything: three slices of some white cheese, two of cooked ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, and the meat, which has a good point, but is still somewhat dry. In these cases it is more difficult for me to value the hamburger as such, which is my thing, so to speak, for me, it has too many toppings, I hate cooked ham in a hamburger, the bacon would be a little more toasted and the bread would be better. ciabatta/crystal for a hamburger doesn't work for me, but as I said: it kills hunger and gets you out of trouble. 6/10 (correct) - Cabrales potatoes: I am not a big fan of strong cheeses but my companions opted for this version, they also have them with aioli and brava sauce. The frozen potatoes from the bag (if they are fried well, which they are, they are fine for me) and the sauce, well strong, like the Cabrales cheese itself, you could notice quite a few chunks of garlic, something that my companion, who liked it, They like cheese more, he didn't like it, but for me they delivered, again, they get you out of trouble and hunger. 5/10 (pasable)

BIG King came with small burger patties. Same as child’s cheese burger. Is not a BIG King!! Manager refused to talk to me. Instead sent member of staff, wearing dirty outdoor trousers. Was cold in eating area as both exterior doors propped open letting cold air in. This place will close soon if they continue to act this way.

I am not sure that 4€ salad should really look like this ( Really disappointed in my beloved Burger King!
Google review
It's called fast food... Not slow food!ok, BK makes everything fresh, but 45 minutes waiting for the order of 5 people is too long, even for BK! The chicken sandwich didn't have only one small tiny piece of lettuce and my whopper was cold like a dead person's hand!
Magnus M — Google review
There is no paper in the order machine, and there is no toilet paper in either stall. Bathrooms dirty. The order screen is not working. It's much dirtier than is typical in a Burger King. Corporate should get on this manager. Not good.
Kathy M — Google review
Almost 1h wait. And the drinks machine only delivers water.

Great quality and friendly service. We had 3 medium size pizzas (big enough for 2 people) and took two home. For 21 euros we ate 3 days! I recommend Hawaiian and Huerta type!

Absolute rubbish, the worst food and service I have ever had

Its a takeout place. Good enough.

(Translated by Google) The food was very good and the service was adequate. However, upon entering the restaurant, I noticed that the floor has a pattern of light and dark brown colors, and in one of the areas where the color changes back to dark, there's a rise that's not easy to see. It's like a small ramp or rise that can be dangerous. I saw a child trip and fall there, and I was scared several times myself. It would be advisable to put up some sort of signage, a visible warning, or reflective tape to prevent accidents. It was also quite hot inside the establishment. A little more ventilation or air conditioning would be appreciated.

(Translated by Google) Some days very good and others very bad. Several times they went over the established time, but once it was almost 40 minutes over the established time. Also on 2 occasions they brought me the expired soda from a year ago. They have too many mistakes lately, like not bringing complete orders and having to return for it. Once I ordered the Vulcan pizza and they didn't bring me the tortilla chips, when they brought it to me the cheese sauce was already cold. I think we need a little more organization. I can understand that they are in a hurry sometimes, but in my case there have already been several mistakes. It doesn't mean that I love their pizzas, and the treatment of each delivery person who has come to bring us our order.

(Translated by Google) Authentic bar with abundant and delicious portions. We ordered a half portion of octopus for dinner, a portion of pork shoulder, and a medium jug of scrambled eggs to drink. We wanted to order a third helping but the waitress told us that it was too much and she was right. With two portions we were fed up. Everything was very delicious and at a good price.

Table was sticky (needed cleaning), the raciones are the size of other places tapas and they come without a side... Not really a good place to eat To expensive for the amount and quality of food.

Had breakfast here. The food was great but quite expensive. The most we ever paid for a bocadillo, coffee and OJ. Busy with locals having coffee etc.

(Translated by Google) We ended up in this bar looking for something to have dinner a little further away from the center, since that area is very saturated in high season. The place is very small, only 3 tables and very close together. The menu is not very extensive, we ordered a portion of octopus a feira and another of raxo for 2 people. The waiter told us that that amount was fine. It took about 20 minutes to serve us. The raxo is served with chopped and slightly poached onion, red and green peppers, all stirred with the potatoes. I had never seen it served like this, but the truth is that if you don't like pepper it can destroy your plate. The meat was not as juicy as I would have liked, as if it had been cooked when making it with the vegetables. The octopus was good, they asked us before if we wanted it with sweet or spicy paprika. Good quantity without more (we were left hungry despite the waiter's appreciation), price I would say average for Ribadeo.

Whenever we return to the area, we will stop there, a must visit. A greeting from the four picheleiros. (Original) Excepcional. Bebimos cuncas de viño e puxéronnos tapas a fartar. (Translated by Google) Terrible. We ate octopus with garlic shrimp, which had no garlic or oil (it came cooked in the water used for frozen shrimp), and fried potatoes? It was dry and had paprika on top. I've never had anything so bad in my life. The waitress was pleasant. She had a free table, so we didn't have to wait, but we understood why when our food was brought to us.

(Translated by Google) A small place almost out of the way, convenient for those traveling by car or camper to grab a bite to eat after visiting the Playa de las Catedrals. The service was a bit slow (perhaps only two waiters when all the tables were occupied is too few), but the staff were friendly and helpful. I wasn't sold on the entrecote (it tasted good but was a bit tender), and the octopus croquettes were bland (you couldn't see or taste the octopus), while the fried shrimp were good. Perhaps other dishes on the menu are better. Overall, it's not bad, but there's room for improvement.

(Translated by Google) The food was spectacularly high quality and reasonably priced. The rice was delicious and plentiful, although it says individual portions, so you can share and order another portion. The octopus croquettes were incredible; I'd never had croquettes with that flavor before. We sat on the shaded terrace and enjoyed our meal. You can do the maze for €6.50.

(Translated by Google) We went with a reservation and had some very satisfying dishes. The portions were tasty and hearty. The atmosphere was great, and the waiters were very friendly. There's plenty of parking and it's close to Las Catedrales beach. The value for money was very good, and they put any leftovers in a Tupperware container for us. Great. I would definitely recommend it.
