Sushi restaurant
Koiso Sushi Bar is a renowned eatery tucked away in a strip mall in Kihei, Maui. Despite its unassuming appearance, this small but acclaimed restaurant offers some of the best sushi and sashimi on the island. Chef Hiroaki tirelessly sources the freshest fish to create beautifully presented, traditionally prepared dishes that are nothing short of extraordinary. The intimate setting and personalized service provide a special dining experience that feels exclusive and welcoming.
All the poor reviews for this place is for entitled people who didn't make a reservation. If you like sushi it's a must stop. The price to fish ratio is insanely good without sacrificing quality. In addition, the people there are so nice and wholesome. Great experience. I would've made multiple reservations if I'd known it would be this great. We made ours on the first of the month a month in advance
Thieney — Google review
If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation you’re in for a a lifetime experience. My husband and I are experienced sushi eaters from SF and we’re absolutely blown away. Just call and go, you won’t regret it!
Stephanie A — Google review
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Best sushi I’ve ever had by far. So fresh and melts in your mouth. The service is amazing too! Don’t skip this, and make sure you get a reservation!
Kamjam 1 — Google review
A brilliant "hole in the wall", completely authentic sushi bar with stunningly fresh fish made by the master Hiro-san from Japan (I know that's redundant, but it's intended for emphasis!). The sushi literally melts in your mouth. I didn't have to chew. The service is brilliant, the sushi to die for, and the ambiance unpretentious and authentic. Call early because they fill up quickly!!! 🤤🤤🤤
Cynthia B — Google review
Hands down THE BEST Sushi! The Chef is amazing and the service team is as kind and welcoming as can be. We were lucky to get a last minute reservation for 2. Book early. Just plan on coming here and start calling weeks in advance. To the Chef, THANK YOU for sharing your story with my wife and I. And thank you for allowing us to share our story with you and how your sushi has kept us focused for 10 years to get back to Maui to enjoy it! lol

Our last day on me and my husband’s honeymoon and nothing suited it better than this amazing dinner at Koiso Sushi Bar. We were extremely lucky to get reservations last minute as they are usually booked weeks in advanced. From the moment we were seated to when we left it was nothing short of an amazing experience as well as what I would say the best sushi I have ever had. It was our first time trying chef’s choice “Omakase” and it is definitely the way to do it. The fish melts in your mouth and tastes extremely fresh. Each piece you can tell is made with attention to detail and care. If you can, make sure to make this a stop on your trip to Maui.
Katie N — Google review
Most definitely the best sushi restaurant in Maui. It was some of the best we’ve had around the world. It is run by a Japanese couple and the only seats 11 people. Reservations need to be made well over a month in advance at the first of each month and they fill up with immediately.
Norman J — Google review
The best sushi I have had in Maui. This sushi is one of the top I’ve had anywhere. I’ve been to Japan before and this experience was better than my Tokyo sushi I had while traveling. It is a small environment which means a well thought out and planned reservation is necessary but it is worth it. Order the omikase and let the sushi chef choose your meal and you won’t be disappointed.

Nalu's South Shore Grill is an open-air eatery in Kihei, Maui that offers a delightful dining experience. The restaurant prides itself on serving seasonal, locally sourced Hawaiian recipes and occasionally features live music. Their breakfast menu boasts hearty comfort food like the loco moco made with local eggs and grass-fed beef, as well as the Black and Blue ahi Benedict and fluffy pineapple-banana pancakes.
Stopped by on a Wednesday evening around 8pm and although it was quite busy, we only had to wait about 10 minutes in line to place our orders and we were able to find a table that suited us best. Overall, we were quite impressed with the quality of service and food served at this popular local restaurant. All staff here are kept quite busy but are friendly and helpful and seemed happy to be working there. Crab Cake & Greens was good with and a nothing special crab cake but with a very fresh and tasty organic salad. Pacific Mahi Mahi was excellent with very tasty Wild caught Pacific Mahi Mahi, sautéed with lilikoi-piccata vinaigrette. Fish & Green Bean Fries with the beer battered Pacific Mahi Mahi, served golden brown was the best deep-fried fish I've had in a long time. Green bean fries were interesting but not that interesting. Roasted Beets & Goat Cheese was excellent with very fresh and tasty roasted beets, organic greens, goat cheese, etc. Ahi Club was exceptional with fresh island yellow fin tuna seared rare, topped with applewood smoked bacon over crisp sourdough. Nalu’s Raw Salad was fresh and tasty. The Straight Up Burger was perfectly cooked medium rare with swiss cheese and bacon and the Korean Bulgogi Burger were both delicious and filling. The toasted brioche bun was perfect for these burgers. With reasonably priced delicious local food, service with a smile and very good live music (although a bit too loud for my tastes), this was our favorite place to dine in Maui. We will be back if we have a chance again.

First time at Nalu’s .I have been reading about it for years and today we checked it out! We Went for Happy Hour and it was great! The Mai Tai’s for $8 is a great price and you can taste the rum! Really good and a fabulous price! We had the happy hour ahi which was really good and worth $7.00. The calamari was good but probably wouldn’t get it again. The ribs were outstanding but for 3 small pieces for happy hour I would skip the happy hour ribs and go for the full order of ribs with rice, Mac salad and kimchi! We ended up ordering a full rib meal to share after the happy hour order because they are that good! Had two Mai Tai’s each because they are that good and such a great price! Not watered down or weak! Really good! Staff is friendly and attentive! No dishes left on the table and everyone is so friendly!
Heather M — Google review
It was one of the only non-hotel affiliated breakfast places we could find on this side of the island and I'm glad we did. Many great breakfast options. We had the pancakes, french toast, Portuguese sausage side, and vegetarian Benedict between the 3 of us. Everything was very tasty. We liked the open air setup. Would definitely return for another meal.
Ewa C — Google review
Nalu’s is such a unique spot where everything comes together: delicious food, generous portions, fast service, happy hours, and live music. The atmosphere feels both casual and vibrant, making it one of the must-visit places on Maui. A quick tip: check the menu in advance! Here you order and pay first, then grab a table. Don’t be scared off by the long line at the entrance — it moves really fast thanks to this system. Overall: tasty food, great vibes, and a true island experience. Highly recommended!
Ekaterina K — Google review
Nalu’s is one of my go-to spots in Kihei! The staff is always friendly, upbeat, and makes you feel right at home. The location is perfect — easy to get to, with a relaxed open-air vibe that really captures the Maui lifestyle. I stopped in for happy hour and everything was on point. I had the seared ahi, Hawaiian short ribs, and ahi tacos — all absolutely delicious and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The portions are generous for the price, and you can really taste the care that goes into their food. Their happy hour is one of the best around — great prices, generous portions, and awesome drinks. The cocktails are fresh, creative, and the perfect pairing to the food and island atmosphere. If you’re looking for a spot that’s got amazing food, great people, and good vibes all around, Nalu’s is it.
Hayley B — Google review
Had a great breakfast here. Danny the manager of the day checked in to see if we needed anything. He brought over a small glass so we could try their house made hot sauce. Attentive and friendly service was much appreciated for breakfast. Food was excellent and tasty. We had the French Toast and Three Egg Omelette. Casual family atmosphere at breakfast time. Interesting array of flavored water.
Tom V — Google review
Best happy hour food. Great value and service. We tried the crab cakes, calamari, poke tacos and short ribs. Mai tai’s were some of the best with good portion and price.
Jennifer A — Google review
Didn't like the waiting line. This is one of those places where you do a line to ask for your food before being seated, and in our case, the line was quite long. That said, the food was really good; we had a burger and a tuna poke (amazing). We didn't try anything else but saw the desserts at other tables, and they looked good.

Nestled in the heart of Kihei, Cafe O'Lei Kihei is a delightful dining destination that captures the essence of Hawaiian hospitality. This charming bar and restaurant boasts a vibrant atmosphere where you can savor an array of delectable dishes, from fresh seafood to sushi, all crafted with local ingredients. Whether you're indulging in their famous blackened mahi-mahi or enjoying a refreshing cocktail after a day of adventure, this casual eatery provides the perfect backdrop for relaxation.
We went to Cafe O’Lei to celebrate our daughter’s birthday while on vacation in Maui and we absolutely loved it! The food was truly outstanding, the lobster risotto was one of the best meals I’ve had anywhere. The service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was beautiful. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and we had a lovely evening. Highly recommend!
Terese L — Google review
Cafe O’Lei in Kihei is such a gem! We stopped in for lunch and left completely satisfied. I ordered the steak tip sandwich, and let me tell you — the fries were absolute perfection. Crispy, golden, and somehow stayed crunchy until the very last bite (seriously, how do they do that?). The sandwich itself was solid — juicy steak tips, melty cheese, and a horseradish aioli that added just the right amount of zing. I only wish it had a little more heat, but that’s just the spice-lover in me talking. The bread had a slightly bitter aftertaste, but it was still hearty enough to hold everything together without falling apart — points for that. My partner went for the fish of the day, which was fresh, perfectly cooked, and had that just-caught Hawaiian flavor you can’t fake. The sides were just as thoughtfully prepared, and everything on the plate felt fresh and well-balanced. On top of that, the service was genuinely amazing — warm, friendly, and attentive without hovering. The place is spotless, too, which always makes me feel like the kitchen is running just as smoothly as the dining room. If you’re in Kihei and looking for a spot with great food, super clean vibes, and service that makes you feel taken care of, this is a must-try. Pro tip: get the steak tip sandwich and a side of fries, and don’t be afraid to ask for extra aioli — you’ll thank me later.

Make a reservation! This is a highly popular restaurant any night of the week and it’s worth it to plan ahead. Everyone comes here for the Maui Onion Soup En Croute and they are right to do so. Cooked in a wood fire oven and delivered fresh and hot to your table. Delicious drinks made expertly, friendly and professional staff, chill and beautiful atmosphere. We ended up staying for a full meal instead of our original plan for soup and a cocktail. Everything was delectable. Make sure to make time to catch the sunset on Kihei beach before dinner.
Chelsea W — Google review
This restaurant is located in the center Kihei and is an excellent restaurant for local dishes and flavors. It has a casual atmosphere with comfortable tables. The staff is friendly and very efficient. The food is excellent, on par with popular fine dining restaurants. It's known for its mahi mahi. Anything you order will be delicious. Large windows surround the Hawaiian themed dining room. A full bar and counter anchor the center of the dining room.
Roy A — Google review
It is a truly extraordinary experience where you get to know your food: especially as a newbie on Maui! Funny and knowledgeable waiter - a true slam poet! Mahi Mahi fish blackened or as fish and chips are tasty with perfect batter and crunchy French fries. But when it is on the menu, you have to have the Ono fish with Cocos curry on rice. And try Hale Kapena and Maui wowie! And when you still have place in your happy belly try the deserts! We will be back!! Slam poetry of the day: „the ocean is our cooler, the mountains are our ice house“.
Andrea B — Google review
It was our last day in Maui and we decided to have dinner in here. After couple of the bad experiences with the food and mostly customer service we didn’t expect anything miraculous, but everything starting with the wonderful hostess, bartender and ending with the marvellous food and cocktails - was gorgeous!!!Thank you for a wonderful last day on Maui. We really enjoyed each bite and sip!

Fantastic!!! We wandered off the resorts to try something local and this place was in the top favorites! The outside first appears to be less than top quality but once you make it upstairs and into the restaurant ans try the food and drinks, you'll want to go back. Our sever was on top of his game and we can't find one thing to complain about. We'll make this a must go to spot everytime we visit maui.

We had a fabulous meal at Cafe O Lei in Kīhei. It’s unassuming outside and the atmosphere brightens as soon as you walk in the door. We were wowed from start to finish. The food was amazing and the service was friendly and attentive. Our group had the lettuce wraps (best we’ve had anywhere!), coconut shrimp, eggplant napoleon (beautiful presentation), prime rib, and macadamia nut roast pork. The mashed potatoes were out of this world! The ratings are spot on (which isn’t always the case). Will definitely eat there again next time we’re in Maui and recommend you don’t miss it.

Nestled in the heart of Kihei, Coconuts Fish Cafe is a laid-back eatery that has become a beloved destination for seafood lovers. This charming spot offers an array of fresh Hawaiian fish served in tacos, sandwiches, plates, and even pasta. The menu boasts local favorites like Ahi poke and coconut shrimp as appetizers, while the main courses feature mouthwatering options such as their renowned seven-layer fish tacos filled with mahi-mahi and ono.
Great place to grab takeout tacos and fries for dinner at Charlie Young Beach. The fries were fantastic, small McDonald's size but so much more flavorful... Nice little dusting of paprika. Pork tacos were tasty. Wish there was a smaller size available. Large indoor seating area, but also a popular spot to grab takeout. Located on the second floor, up a set of stairs. Large shared free parking lot.
Robbie B — Google review
Wow, this place has so many reviews, thanks mainly to the tourist folk. ATMOSPHERE: The always-packed eatery is located in the Azeka Shopping Center next to Peggy Sue's. All indoor & outdoor seating on cool surfboard-shaped tables are communal with posted signs encouraging the sharing of personal bubble space. Thankfully we did takeout as I love my space, especially when eating lol. MENU: Seafood apps, salads, chowder, tacos, sandwiches, rice plates, fish/shrimp & chips, pasta. FOOD: Shrimp & Chips My request of doing half shrimp and half fish with chips was denied. The seven pieces of breaded shrimp were on the smallish side, possibly even frozen, but deep fried perfectly and not oily, with a generous portion of shoestring fries, a cup of coleslaw, and cocktail sauce & ketchup for dipping. Very mainstream but good. SERVICE: Friendly and helpful gal was taking orders. Our takeout order took about 20 minutes as they were pumping even at 2 in the afternoon. A friendly guy brought our package out to us, double checked the order, and thanked us. Very good service! OVERALL: The words "coconut" and "fish" definitely riles up the tourist folk, LOL.

Wanted to try the « Famous Fish tacos » : it was the best I ever ate ! We ate at the restaurant but people seems to order and pick up more then sit in even though there are many tables :you pay first and you get your cutlery and wait for your order .The employee who takes the order is very friendly . We tried also their Poké ahi and salmon ( choice of shoyu, spicy or teriyaki ) and there were good .

I went to a couple of Coconut’s Fish Café locations in Maui, and the Azeka one was better. The service was better, and it wasn’t as busy as the other place. The food was really good, and everything was stocked. At the other location, they didn’t even have ice for my drink, but the Azeka one did. Overall, the Azeka location was cleaner, better stocked, and had friendlier service. I’d go back there again.

I stopped by Coconuts Fish Café at the Azeka location and tried the Ono grilled with salad—wow, so good! The fish was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and grilled just right. The salad was crisp and refreshing, which balanced the meal nicely. Great casual spot with a local vibe. Definitely a must-try if you love fresh seafood!

Cute place, good customer service! Good food! Beware of wasabi in the coconut milk coleslaw on the tacos. Wish they would list that, waste of $24 for my dinner :(

Great location, friendly staff, the happy hour menu was great and the food was delicious. Coconut shrimp was crispy and tasty, the poke was amazing, and the fish tacos were fresh and amazing.

Kihei Caffe is a popular breakfast spot located in the Kihei Kalama Village, offering a variety of delicious and filling breakfast options at reasonable prices. The menu features Hawaiian favorites like Loco Moco and Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, as well as classic dishes such as omelets and cinnamon rolls. The cafe has a cozy interior with a spacious patio for outdoor dining, making it an ideal place to enjoy freshly roasted Hawaiian coffee and hearty breakfast plates.
Kehei Cafe: A Must-Try for Breakfast on Maui Kehei Cafe is definitely doing something right! I visited this morning with my daughter and was thrilled that we were able to get a table pretty quickly—a great start to the day. The staff was fun and helpful, making for a really pleasant atmosphere. For our meal, we decided to indulge, and every dish was a winner. We started with a classic cinnamon roll, but the real stars of the show were the savory and sweet mains. The breakfast burrito was awesome! It was big and tasty and got an extra layer of deliciousness from the addition of fried rice inside—a truly inspired combination. The French toast was equally impressive. It was wonderfully thick and perfectly prepared. The topping was what set it apart: they used bananas that were kinda fried and absolutely incredible, all topped with a unique and delicious coconut syrup. Between the quick seating, the great service, and the truly delicious and hearty food, Kehei Cafe is a must-try for anyone looking for an excellent breakfast spot. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito and the French toast!

The food line to order was fun (wish I knew to jump inside and grab a menu, rookie mistake) and wait for your food from a food runner. I was great experience and took about 10 minutes to get my omelette !! The bacon side order was a portion, which came on a separate plate, that makes mainland breakfast places, blush with envy. My photos don’t do the place justice enjoy when you go!

The food choices are awesome. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is delicious 😋. The servings are plentiful. You order at the counter and they give you a number and you seat yourself inside or in the outside patio area. The servers bring your food out to you. There is a self serve station where you can get cold water and condiments. It is located inside the Lahaina Gateway Shopping Center across from Ross. There is plenty of parking.
Blanca R — Google review
Food was absolutely delicious! Don't be intimidated by the long line, flow is well managed, staff take your order and sit you, line is the only waiting, for us it was very long line but no more than 15 min wait. Classic benedict and French toast were delicious. So as iced mocha and mango ice tea
H. M — Google review
We were debating between this and Bacon & Blossom we went for Kihei Caffe bc it’s more of a landmark but it’s definitely like an overpriced Dennys breakfast. You have to wait in line first to order, only one cashier so line can get long, then you get your drinks and look for a table. If you’re lucky you won’t be surrounded by chickens who want to eat your food. They even came up to our table it was a bit scary. There is no restroom so you have to go across the street to the beach restroom or at the outdoor market next door. If you want to go for the experience, cool it’s nice in front of the beach but food definitely didn’t wow me.
Nancy R — Google review
I’ve come here over 10 times just for their coffee alone. It’s the best best Macnut coffee I’ve had on the island so far and nothing comes close. The food options are very solid as well and quite large. The only food I didn’t like was the omelet. Everything else from Loco moco, ube panacakes, and french toast was 10/10.
Vasu B — Google review
I had the pancake and it was large and filling. The line was long but flowed fast and inside where you place your order the staff is awesome and proficient. Good food and good vibes for all ages. As we ate we watched the activity at the beach.
Dave M — Google review
The food is excellent. The staff is warm and friendly. Excellent patio seating might be a bit noisy for some. Some might also find the caffe a bit pricey. If you're planning to enjoy your meal on the patio tables, ORDER FIRST then find a table. Don't save tables before ordering. This is very helpful for guests who have already ordered find a table. The staff will bring your order to you. Also, while waiting in line, look over the handheld menu so that you have an idea what you'd like when it's your turn to order. Over the years (decades), this local style caffe has become very popular with regular visitors to Maui...for good reason. The food is excellent and the portions are large. As such, we strongly suggest visiting as early as possible. Each of the plates includes a local flair. There are a large selection of dishes, each is delicious. Various coffees and juices are available. The later guests arrive, the more challenging parking can be. Limited parking is available in the street. A large parking lot is available adjacent to the caffe. Restrooms are a short walk away.

Maui Brewing Co. has made a significant impact on the craft beer scene in Maui, offering refined flavors that incorporate the island's bounty. With two locations on the Valley Isle, visitors can enjoy a chic interior, games, and live music at their Kihei tavern or savor fresh homemade food at their west side restaurant. The brewery offers four flagship beers like Bikini Blonde and Big Swell IPA, as well as limited release beers such as POG IPA and Mango Hefeweizen.
Visited for lunch and had a great meal and great beers. Huge place with an indoor/outdoor seating with a great breeze so was very comfortable no matter where you sat. Service was prompt and was able to make my own beer flight. Several of the beers I wanted to try were out but all the ones I tasted were great. Food was very good with big portions. Would have liked a few more vegetarian options but the burgers were really good and huge! Family friendly and looks setup for great evening activities and large outdoor space. Definitely recommend and would return on a future visit.

The original Kahana location closed, so this newer and much larger location is their sole spot on the rock. ATMOSPHERE: They have a humongous building in the tech park. The landscaping looks so mainland-ish, I love it! There's a good-sized living room-like area at the front, outdoor lanai seating and a gargantuan main dining area with bar. BEVERAGE: True North Refreshing with nicely-balanced flavors. Highly recommended. Lei'd Lychee Unfortunately served lukewarm, it was very light on lychee flavor but heavy on the pineapple. FOOD: MBC Nachos We added spicy Mexican beef which wasn't spicy hot at all. Mainstream version. Chicken Bacon Ranch Sando I wanted to be a little healthier and got his tasty little sammy. SERVICE: Consistently good throughout the years. OVERALL: South Maui's best bar & restaurant setting.

Great spot in Maui! The place looks awesome, staff was super friendly, and the patio is perfect, especially during their happy hour from 3–5 PM with some solid deals. I sat outside and tried the Peach Hard Tea and Pineapple Chi Chi, both really tasty and refreshing. Everything was going great until the Truffle Garlic Fries showed up. First few bites were amazing, but then it got way too heavy on the garlic. Honestly felt like I ordered fried garlic with a side of fries. Tasted fine at first but… yeah, spent the rest of the day burping garlic with a slight stomach ache, not ideal... Other than that, everything else was smooth. The menu’s big, with lots of food and beer options, prices are fair, and the vibe is great. I’d totally recommend coming here and would go back next time I’m in Maui for a second chance.

5 stars because of the experience and the beers but the food was a little bland. Going for dinner the wait was long since we didn’t have a reservation and it’s a popular spot. We were able to sit in the tasting area and drink while waiting. Got a table outside which as the sun went down it was a good temperature and they opened the large garage doors. The food looked amazing but the hot fish sandwich wasn’t hot and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The fish tacos were the same way too. Enjoyed the dessert though and recommended getting some cheesecake cake. Would good again since it was a really nice brewery and to try other food.

We had planned to come here for happy hour but got blown off the beach by the wind so we were a bit early. Parking is easy and plentiful, and the space is massive both indoor, covered patio, and outdoor games space. It was our first time here, the bar seating is seat yourself and the rest a host needs to take you to the table. It wasn’t too busy but we were clumped together with other tables when there was plenty of space to spread out. We both got Mexican lime lagers and they were pretty good but not super cold? We also shared the pork belly bao buns and the flavours didn’t complement (needed something pickled to offset the fatty pork and hoisin instead of the overpowering chilli mayo). Service was friendly. Would be a great spot for groups or an evening hangout spot to play the outdoor games. Next time I’d come for happy hour and get a flight to try several beers and the $13 pizza, but I’m not rushing back (and you can get their beers on tap at other establishments on island for cheaper than the source).

What a great brewery and restaurant. I wish I could have tried every beer! This was our first stop after picking up our rental car on the way to our condo. So glad our friend recommended this stop. The grounds are beautiful, whether you are sitting inside or outdoors, the entire restaurant has an open feel. The staff were all very friendly and the environment is very clean. Had we had time I would have come back for one of their brewery tours and to try more beer. I had the Pineapple Mana Wheat, delicious with a perfect balance of flavor. It paired perfectly with my jalapeño bacon burger... which was amazing. I'll definitely recommend this to friends and family and when I make it back to the island for a speaking gig or an Own Your Awkward retreat, I'll be sure this is part of the experience.

We undertook the brewery tour on Saturday and found it very interesting. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. The size of the operation blew us away and the hyper focus on sustainability was a big green flag. The tasting session after the tour was great and the sample sizes surprisingly decent. Great craft beer. Mahalo Just an addendum. We returned for happy hour 3-5 with half price pizzas and $2.00 off draft beers. Great value, excellent beer (again) and good pizza. Only recommendation would be to maybe add cider to the beverage list.

It pains me to give this low of rating on typically a consistent 4 or even 5 star experience but my experience today was so terrible I feel like a review needs written. I really believe the server sets the tone of the evening for the establishment and our server came off like she could care less about her job. We had to flag her down to order dinner, drinks, ask for more water, ask for refills ask for our check. She would often just walk by our table, never check in. I really do not like to flag a server down, but at one point, I really thought she forgot about us. She also forgot to put food items in to order, so it took almost 90 minutes just for our full order to come out. And upon paying, she requested at 25% tip. The food and drinks were really delicious. I do want it noted that this is the third place I have ordered a Caesar salad, and while the prices line up with the other establishments, this portion was about half the size, so I would not order it again. I do hope to go back to allow them to redeem themselves, but this was a big step down in the experience from last year, and I would hate to stop going in general. Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice in Kihei and Lahaina is a must-visit spot for shave ice enthusiasts. They are known for their exotic flavors like pickled mango, lychee, and passion fruit. The shave ice is made with gourmet Maui-made ice cream at the bottom, extra fine shaved ice, and topped with their delicious local favorite juices and other optional toppings.
We have tried a few shaved ice places on the island and this is easily the best one! There is plenty of flavors to choose from and they also have something called snow cap which is a condensed sweeten milk for an additional $1. I added this to my grape/ orange ice and it was good. My son got the cotton candy and it tastes just like it. My wife got the mango coconut and she said it was good as well. The only issue is the long lines, this is worth it as they do not skimp on anything. We got the keiki (kids) which was plenty for each of us. This is a must go place if you have about an hour to kill. From the photos you will see from where it was taken it was about 35 minutes of a wait. Don't pass this place up just cause the lines are long. The parking is terrible but get past that and you will enjoy.

What a great local spot! You can tell how popular it is because even on a Wednesday afternoon the place was packed. If you’re looking for an authentic Hawaiian shaved ice experience, this is the quintessential place to go. I’ll admit, I’m not usually a huge fan of shaved ice, but the flavor combinations here were fantastic and the toppings were really unique. You even have the option to add ice cream, which makes it extra fun. The vibe is beachy, laid-back, and full of local charm. Yes, there was a long line, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The shaved ice itself was perfection—generous portions, bold flavors, and plenty of toppings. They definitely don’t skimp here. If you’re in Maui, this is a must-visit treat spot.

Popular shaved ice spot with multiple locations. Came here for an afternoon sweet treat and ordered the Local Motion with the snow cap and macadamia nut ice cream. The Ulu size was good for two and we really enjoyed the mixture of the condensed milk with the shaved snow. You pay and order first before receiving your order. They have a free parking lot. Be careful with the birds because they are aggressive in trying to steal a bite of your dessert.
Shanelle S — Google review
Best shave ice I’ve had during my vacation! Their ice is fluffy and holds its shape and the syrups are concentrated and flavorful. We ordered the Jem’s jam which had strawberry, guava and pickled mango, with the hi ling mui drizzle. It’s sweet and tangy, absolutely delicious!
Caitlin L — Google review
One of the best shaved ice! Got it with mochi and vanilla ice cream. There is chicken roaming around so be careful friendly but they do like to nibble on shaved ice cream too! Popular with tourist!
Jennifer K — Google review
Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice is hands down the best shave ice I’ve had in Hawaii — and I’ve tried four different places! The texture is unbelievably soft and fluffy, and the flavors taste so fresh and vibrant. You can really tell they use high-quality syrups and ingredients. The service was friendly, and everything was made perfectly. If you’re going to try shave ice anywhere in Hawaii, make sure it’s here. Nothing else compares — 10/10 recommend and will definitely be going back before departure.
Stephanie W — Google review
Came here on a nice hot day after the farmers market nearby. There is a line since it is popular but well worth the wait. We got the flavors from top 9 that are supposed to be locally sourced. We got the Mango, guava and passion fruit with hazelnut ice cream. It was great
Raghu M — Google review
Friendly service, but syrup taste was underwhelming We visited Ululani’s Shave Ice at 61 S Kihei Rd during our trip to Maui. One thing I truly appreciated was the excellent customer service — the cashier kindly honored my 10-year-old coupon and gave us a free shave ice with the purchase of the highest-priced one. That gesture really stood out and deserves recognition. As for the shave ice itself, the texture was great, and it was nicely prepared. However, I personally found the syrup to be average in taste. It had a strong sweetness that felt more like glucose or sucrose, possibly cane-sugar derived, but it left a bit of an artificial or powdery aftertaste — almost like Splenda or similar sweetener. It just didn’t hit the mark for me flavor-wise. That said, I know many people love Ululani’s, and the service and location are still a big plus. It might come down to personal preference when it comes to sweetness and flavor.

The Maui Thai Bistro is a casual Thai bistro with a bar that serves up delicious dishes from both classic and contemporary Thai cuisine. The service is attentive and the food is tasty, well prepared and fresh. The restaurant is modest but clean, with staff that are kind and courteous throughout. They also take Covid seriously, requiring proof of vaccination before seating customers and approving their order before it can be served.
Amazing food and truly Hawaiian twist with macadamia nut in some of the curries - they have a separate Vegetarian menu which we appreciated. Highly recommend for vegans/vegetarians

Maui Thai Bistro is a decent spot for Thai food, but it didn’t stand out compared to other Thai restaurants I’ve been to. The flavors were good but pretty typical—nothing particularly unique or memorable. We went during rush hour, and the service was noticeably slow. It took a while to get our food, which was a bit frustrating. However, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re craving Thai food in Maui, but don’t expect anything extraordinary.

Wow what a wonderful restaurant and very tasteful food. The staff is truly down to earth, very knowledgeable and helpful to decide your dish if you are vegetarian like few of us. This is a genuine wonderful restaurant to visit if you are in town, don't miss it. We had a great experience, time and food. We took some pictures and videos which I have posted below 👇

Having spent the afternoon at Whalers Village in Lehaina, I was coming back late to South Kihei at around 20.30hrs on a Tuesday night. By that time, a lot of restaurants and stores had closed for the day. However I was very grateful that Maui Thai Bistro was still open and I was able to order some take away Thai to bring back to my hotel room. Thank you, my meal was magnificent as was your hospitality.

Amazing food! We loved it so much we came back 2-3 times during our trip! The Drunken Noodles were a highlight - so flavorful and delicious! Enjoyed the yellow Thai curry takeout, and the Drunken Rice was a standout during our dine-in experience. Generous portion sizes and great options for vegetarians. Highly recommended!

Seated right away. The place filled up quickly after we were seated . There were a lot of take out orders between the time we ordered and we had to ask our waitress where we were in line for a pie. She asked the cook and got our pizza out to us within 5 minutes. The 3 servers were busy with other tables, and we had to ask for drink refills as they passed by. Great pizza but maybe they are short staffed during dinner hours?

This pizza tasted very good, but I ordered a Hawaiian pizza and it came with not one single piece of pineapple. So there’s that. When I tried calling, it said their mailbox was full and they were unreachable - hence this review. So disappointing… when I went to their menu I saw that this pizza is the meat one. I got the wrong pizza altogether. On the bright side, at least it was good!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pizza Madness in Kihei is the real deal! Whether you’re visiting Maui or lucky enough to live here, this spot is a must. The dough is incredible, the pizza is always spot-on, and the hot wings are some of the best around. Their salads are huge and super fresh — definitely not your average side salad. The atmosphere is just as good as the food. Affordable prices, comfy picnic-bench seating, and really fun local-style art (sharks and fish chomping down on pizza!) give the place such a cool Maui vibe. It’s one of those rare spots that tourists discover and rave about, but locals keep coming back to because it’s consistently awesome. Love this place! 🍕🔥

I was visiting friends in Kihei from Chicago and this was our first stop from the airport. The pizza was just as amazing as in Chicago. The pizza crust was the perfect texture, delicious sauce and cheese blend, beautiful location, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Natalie, Keno, & Max were amazing and made us feel like family. I was shocked at the generous size of their pizzas and their rewards program to earn a free pizza. Thank you!

I love this place. I’ve seen a lot of reviews from YouTube travel bloggers. It looked nice in camera so I decided to try. O my godness… life won’t be the same again. The freshest fish I’ve ever consumed in my life. All the sushi, sashimi and home made ice cream were gorgeous! Go there. Try!!!

Incredible sushi! The TNT roll is to die for and so fresh!! We also ordered the Alaskan Roll, Local Roll (ours featured fresh caught snapper), and a baked roll—which we learned we preferred cold sushi. Also got the hamachi carpaccio which was okay, personally didn’t enjoy the texture. Staff was friendly-can’t wait for our next visit and hope the new location opens soon!
Kayla S — Google review
The sushi was absolutley incredible! Our waiter was awesome as well. We ate the Miso Phat Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and our waiter takes us onto the TNT Roll and it was so worth it. If you like spicy have then add jalapeño to it. We also ordered the Baked Dynamite Roll and my mother in-law loved it. Looking forward to the new location opening up. There will be a lot more seating.

Definitely one of our favorite meals during our trip to Maui! Everything was so yummy. The wait staff was so kind and service was great. The TNT roll and Alaskan roll were our favorite. House made ice cream was also delicious! Highly recommend!
Sydney F — Google review
The food here was fantastic. All of the specialty rolls we tried were incredible. The TNT roll had so much poke on top it was falling off. It is difficult to tell you if the 007 or the Local was our favorite because we enjoyed both so much. The baked Rockin roll was our least favorite, although the scallop on top was excellent. The only thing I wouldn't get again is their miso soup as the tofu was incredibly bland as if they diced it up and tossed it in at the end instead of cooking it in the broth. The staff were also great, there when you needed them and having a good sense of humor. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Awesome food! Excellent service! We were there for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was pretty relaxed and we got seated quickly. We had Pad Thai and Yellow Curry. If you don't like fish or oyster sauce in your Thai food, this restaurant has marked dishes as Vegan Option. Those can be ordered without those. Very flavorful. Amazing food and flavors, service was great with all details explained and requests accommodated where they could. Food came out very quick and portions were filling. Spice level was just right as requested and wish I lived in Maui so I could visit again. Highly recommended especially for vegetarians and anyone looking for some spice and great flavors. And the best part is you don’t need to drive all the way to Hana for this!

Food: The flavor in the lemongrass chicken was so delicious and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I ordered this twice as the first time was so good, but the second time the flavor wasn’t as intense as the first time although it was still really good! Service: Very kind and attentive staff. Atmosphere: Plenty of indoor seating available. Only one bathroom available but it wasn’t as clean.
Viviana — Google review
I found my new favorite Thai restaurant in Maui. Not sure why I’ve not tried this place before. Went here two days in a row and the food each time was great. Not sweet or salty like other places. There’s 4 different levels of spice you can get, so that was nice. But they should have a super spicy level! The wait staff is nice but the hostess could have been more personable. She wasn’t rude but a little friendlier would have been nice. I understand it can get busy but being friendly helps. There is plenty of seating here, so not sure why there is a wait. Maybe to ensure the cooks can handle the orders in a decent amount of time? Since it’s pretty spacious, we could speak freely without being too loud. So a great place to bring your date! I’m sure I’ll be coming here for Thai food more than any other place when I’m in Maui.

This is one of the few places on Maui that I really enjoyed. Food is on par or better than Thai you will find in most places on Mainland. The restaurant vibe is great and they have nice paper menus. The pricing is very reasonable for the portion sizes. Also their spicy options are actually spicy so keep that in mind. One unique they had on the menu was Jungle curry which is a non coconut curry which was interesting! Overall if I had only one place to recommend in Maui this would be it!

Da Kitchen, located in Kihei and Kahului, is a popular restaurant on Maui known for its generous portions of classic Hawaiian food. Despite its suburban strip-mall location, it attracts both locals and tourists with its island soul food, including signature dishes like chicken katsu and teriyaki beef. The airport location offers a wider selection, featuring traditional plate-lunch-style fare as well as burgers and sandwiches.
One of the best places to eat in Maui. We came in a Tuesday for lunch and the inside was packed so we ordered to-go and ate outside. Every single bite of every item on our plate was perfection. The Musubi was heavy on the nori flavor, which I love, but my husband doesn’t so I mostly got to have that all to myself. The meats were tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Many weeks later and we’re still talking about how this is one of the best meals we ate. On our Maui go-to list now forever! Oh, and the staff were all so freaking nice!!
Chelsea W — Google review
I came here based on the reviews. While you do get a lot of food for your money, I’m not sure I’m convinced that it was as great as some of these reviews. We ordered the mixed plate and the loco moco. Both were ok. The mixed plate came with katsu chicken and mahi as well as a piece of chicken thigh and a piece of sliced beef plus rice and mac salad. The loco moco came with a burger patty, egg, topped with sautéed onions, rice and mac and cheese. It’s a very heavy meal. The dishes didn’t have a lot of flavor. Our server was nice and friendly.
Geeky C — Google review
Loco Moco was good but not great. Standouts were the fried spam musubi and the guava cheesecake (a must-order. Not overly sweet). Prices for portion size were good. My husband and I split the Loco Moco and had leftovers.

Island salad is my run away favorite here. It’s been a while since I was in Hawaii and had plate lunch. So long ago that prices have ga-gillioned? $35 for the Hawaiian? Sheesh. Used to be plate lunch was the affordable way to eat. Food was good though. Lau lau was good. Kilua pork was salty but delicious. Rice was rice. And a very little itty bitty salmon teaser. Won’t be back but happy we went. Can’t recommend at these prices.

Exactly what I was looking for! We're visiting from California. I have been craving Lau lau which is hard to find in Cali, but Da Kitchen nail it! I wanted a little of everything that reminded me of hanging at random weddings while my Dad and grandpa hosted Luau's back in the 70's. All on one fork, pork lau lau, kalua pig & rice then big spoon of poi! OMG broke da mouf!!! Mac salad was so ono as well. Great job Da Kitchen!

Don't miss this place to eat!! Impeccable service and food. We were so lucky to get Maria as our server. She was just the sweetest and gave us great recommendations. Perfect amount of attention. We had the nachos, fries, and Ono. We were lucky enough that Ono was the catch of the day. Best flavors, my husband and I ever tasted in a fish. It was like the filet mignon of fish!! This is a great place for a bite to eat or some good drinks. I had the garlic friend lo mein and added some grilled chicken to it. That meal was amazing and just the right amount. My wife had the hurricane fries which were also very good and spicy. Our server was super attentive. It was a little pricey but everything is on Maui. But the food was worth every penny. None of us had any complaints. Highly recommend this place.

We had seen this place on an episode of Diners, Drive Ins & Dives and when we were looking for a lunch spot today we thought we would drive to Kihei and try it! It absolutely did NOT disappoint!! It was very easy for us to get a lovely shaded table on the patio. Our waiter Daniel was fantastic! We decided to go with three of the shared plates…Bacon fried Brussel Sprouts, garlic fried noodles, and crispy pork belly. The pork belly was so good and gone so fast that we ordered another one so that we could take a picture of it! It was definitely the first place winner…the chili gastrique and the papaya salad completely balanced off the richness of the pork belly! The garlic noodles were epic…these are the kind of noodles that you could just eat every day and never get tired of! The brussel sprouts were scrumptious! Even if you don’t like Brussel Sprouts, you will love these!! Great dishes and a total flavour bomb of yumminess!! Definitely going back again before we leave for Canada again!

We had a great experience at Three’s Bar & Grill in Kihei! The food was delicious, and the mimosas were absolutely refreshing. We actually found out about it through the PacWhale Foundation, which offers a 20% discount—so glad we decided to stop by! A special shoutout to the staff, who were so kind and generous. I accidentally left my bag behind, and when I returned later, they had kept it safely for me. Truly thoughtful people who made our visit even better. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and a relaxed Maui atmosphere. 🌺🍹

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Three’s Bar & Grill, and the experience was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we walked in, the warm, inviting ambiance set the tone for a special evening. We decided to splurge a little and try the lobster — and let me tell you, it exceeded all expectations. The lobster was cooked to perfection: tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The presentation was elegant, and it was clear that real care was taken in its preparation. But a great dish is only half the story — the service made the night truly memorable. Maria was our server, and she was absolutely outstanding. She was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely seemed to enjoy ensuring our experience was top-notch. Her friendly demeanor and professional touch elevated the evening. The menu at Three’s is impressively diverse, with something to appeal to many tastes. From fresh seafood to hearty mains, and a wide selection of beverages (including cocktails, wines, and artisanal drinks), you’re spoiled for choice. We spent quite a while just browsing the menu — which is always a good sign. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, striking a nice balance between casual and relaxed. Soft lighting, tasteful decor, and a pleasant level of background music all contributed to an environment where you can enjoy both conversation and your meal without distractions. All told, we left feeling delighted and looking forward to returning. Three’s Bar & Grill offers outstanding food, top-tier service (thanks again, Maria!), and a warm, inviting vibe. Highly recommended for a romantic dinner, special occasion, or just a night out to treat yourself.

Our last night of a two-week trip was spent here. The kids were left at the condo so we could have a date night. Our only regret was that we couldn't go back. Honestly, we would have gone every other night for apps. I was a professional chef for 10 years, we ate all over Maui, and this place was by far the best. And the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back next time on the first day of our trip!

From the reviews ,we decided to try this restaurant . We ordered some of the food on the menu that were mentionned ( *Guy Fieri from the Food network show DDD) : crispy pork belly ( tasty) , Ginger crusted hawaïan Fish ( it was blue marlin that night and was delicious) and Chimichurri grilled salmon ( husband said it was ok ) .Over all , service was good and I guess it depend on what you choose on the menu . We had a coupon for 20% from Snorkle Store 👍🏻

The ahi was incredible — and the presentation made me feel like I should take a moment to admire it before eating. The service was fantastic. Maria’s kindness and bright presence truly elevated the night. Highly recommend Three’s in Kihei.

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar is a vibrant and trendy eatery with locations in west Maui and Kihei, known for its Japanese-Pacific Rim fare and creative sushi rolls. The restaurant's founder, D.K. Kodama, named it "sansei" to honor his third-generation Japanese American heritage and modernize traditional Asian dishes.
Went here with friends that live in Maui on a Sunday night when dishes are half price. Need to line up before 5 to get seated. Pricing is good until I think 5:30. Sushi was great as well as other seafood dishes. Seating and service was fast. Note! Location had changed from previous Google maps site, check website.

Spider roll has very good fried soft shell crab. However, it fell apart easily, not rolled well. Butterfly fish is nice and tender. Service was excellent. Ramen's noodle was OK.

New Location.. Fantastic Experience! I've been a fan of Sansei's from the early days of their old location and had the pleasure of returning to the new spot and they haven't missed a beat! The service, the food and the new location was exemplary! Can't say enough about how happy we were to return to this establishment and enjoy and great meal with familiar faces from back in the day. Cant go wrong here...Enjoy we did!

11/04/16: 4.5 out 5 - Just as good as when we first tried Sansei a few days ago. This time I wanted try something different. Tried the New York Steak. It was so very good! Must try...now will return in a few hours for the Happy Hour Sushi! 11/01/16: 4.5 out 5 - I was impressed with this place. The food, the service, and cleanliness was excellent. It's moderately priced, but you get what you pay for. Everything from the glass water to the last bite was definitely worth the price. It can be a little loud, but it's usually the If you find yourself in Kihei, Maui this is a place to go to enjoy a good meal. Definitely, try this place once and decide for yourself. We are going back before heading back the Mainland.

5/20/22 Was looking for a place to dine at a bar due to the unusual humid weather. Sansei had always been on my radar but it always looked closed from the outside because of the frosted glass. Glad I checked out the website and knocked on the door. Thus review is specially geared towards DK, the owner. I hear he's been at this location for a little while trying to overcome the labor boondoggle that's challenging everyone and everywhere. Your first impression and setting the tone of the evening is who you trust to put at the door. Kaitlyn and Mia did a great job handling two ringing lines, taking a family in, and acknowledging me. Throughout the night, I noticed them working well as a team and helping to turn tables. Really great to see teamwork like that with a younger team. It can be hard to find. Sitting at the bar, David did a quick and efficient job of greeting, explaining specials, suggesting, and checking back. I appreciated his recommendations and candor. Of course, the food is tasty, and reasonable, especially during happy hour. Place is spacious, high ceiling, clean and pleasant. One of the few places with a/c in the area btw. In these challenging times, you can see little shortcuts in the menu but it is still of good value. Moreover, it's nice to see an overall staff working well together and keeping the restaurant running well. Everyone was busy and pleasant. I sincerely hope they prevail. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. If they are busy, be patient. Everyone is short staffed but you'll enjoy your time. A good sign is you'll see a lot of locals dining as well. Great job and apparently, great leadership, DK. Keep up the great job everyone! 😉🤙✌️

You can't beat the half off happy hour 5-5:30pm on food. The sushi is really good with quality fresh fish. I highly recommend the scallops, OMG they are seared perfectly with an amazing reduction and pasta. The service was also great! Be sure to make a reservation for happy hour.

If you want tasty sushi then this place is for you. We had an excellent meal here. Some of the stand outs were butter fish, dynamite shrimp, and my favorite was the Hawaiian roll. My husband really enjoyed the butter fish. We would definitely come back here!!

Felt like sushi on our last night in Maui had the great fortune to find this gem on google map! Since we didn’t have a reservation they could only seat us at the sushi bar which was a score! Host was fantastic and reviewed some of his favourites with us which we did end up choosing most of them. WOW! I’m worried every sushi meal after this will never compare! Combinations and flavours! Definitely will ALWAYS be a must on my Maui dining list!

Roasted Chiles is a cozy, family-run Mexican restaurant on Maui known for its festive atmosphere and flavorful cuisine. The menu features creative dishes with bold flavors, including standout tacos and signature hibiscus margaritas. Guests rave about the delicious guacamole, salsa, and entrees like carnitas, chile relleno, and fajitas. The restaurant also accommodates dietary restrictions with attentive service.
Coming from Texas and being in Maui for a week , we needed a Mexican food fix the night before we left. Someone told us this is the closest thing we could get. She was not wrong!! Ate until we were stuffed. Had “chips and hot sauce” and it was the best!! We had fajitas, burrito and street tacos. Loved every bite. Thank you Roasted chili for our fix.

Pros: Service was good and drinks were strong. Margaritas were reasonably priced. The lobster enchilada was tasty. However the mole chicken did not taste like much. No reservations needed when we were there. Warning: Chips and Salsa are not complimentary when they ask.

What can I say? They never disappoint. The food fresh and amazing. The service very wonderful and the atmosphere is so relaxed. One of my favorite places when I’m on island.🌴🌺 sorry about the picture of the food. I couldn’t wait. I attacked it. 😋 before I could photograph it.

I can’t rave enough about this place. We are such foodies and were looking for dinner options during our trip to Maui last week. I stumbled upon this place and I’m so glad I did because the food was super authentic and delicious. It was so good i started eating before taking a picture (which is so rare). I ordered the enchiladas but customized it to green peppers, onions and mole sauce and it was so so so good! My husband ordered the Chicken Alambres and he loved it as well. We asked for a hot sauce and not sure what our server gave us but it was oh so yummy. It was the perfect kick to our food. Our server as well as the overall service was excellent. They are attentive, flexible with your dishes and drinks and very warm and courteous. The place is simple, yet, inviting and the food choices are plenty for all ages and tastes. We also got the chocolate cake for dessert with was mouthwatering and very moist. If you’re in Maui and want flavorful, authentic Mexican food with awesome service, do try this place, won’t go wrong with any items on the menu. Loved it and will go here everytime we’re in Maui!

Authentic Mexican dishes and flare for a reasonable price. When staying at Kihei, nice place to get a quick bite to eat. Kids had cheese quesadillas and adults had chicken fajitas and carne asada quesadilla.

Paia Fish Market South Side is a popular local food spot in West Maui, serving up freshly caught Maui seafood and fish fillets for lunch and dinner every day of the week. With its changing daily menu featuring locally caught seafood, this beachfront restaurant offers an ocean view and top-notch service. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes such as calamari strips, fish tacos, and blackened snapper salad while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere and meeting new people.
We loved this restaurant! We ate here twice on our honeymoon and I wish we could’ve eaten here more. We got blackened mahi and another one I can’t recall…. But they were both delicious!!! The cajun rice to accompany it was also amazing. It was a meal we felt good after eating and not heavy/bleh!! The staff were so kind, friendly, and helpful, which we loved and appreciated!!

Great fish tacos, they were super packed with ingredients! The flavour was very nice and fresh too. The blackened snapper was great. Really like that Cajun flavour Lot of different sauce on table to use

There’s always a line each time we drove by. So we decided to give it a try tonight. I got the calamari app and a blackened snapper plate while my bf got the shrimp taco. He was as not impressed with his tacos at all. The calamari was terrible. It was SO salty!!!! The blackened snapper was great though. The lady that took our order was super nice.

We visited Paia Fish Market in Kihei about a week ago, and the food was amazing as always! We also checked out their Waikiki location, and it was just as good. The fish is super fresh, the staff moves fast, and the food comes out really quickly. We loved it and will definitely be back!

We visited the first week in Nov 2025. I'm so glad this was suggested to us at the beginning of our trip. It was so delicous we had to come back 3 times that week. The salmon was cooked perfect each time. The rice and potatoes had incredible flavor. The flavors on the shrimp quesadillas was amazing. The clam chowder was almost as good as my own. You cant go wrong with anything you order. Also the service was fast and amazing. I loved that you ordered and then it was casual seating for this delicous meal. We will be back and recommend this to everyone.

I’ve eaten at Paia Fish Market twice in a week. It’s a very casual, open air place with picnic tables - on busy South Kihei Road. But don’t let the surroundings concern you. The fish it serves is as fresh and expertly prepared as at any hugely expensive restaurant up the road. It’s probably better. I recommend the charbroiled Ono. This is a “must go to” eatery on Maui.
Doug S — Google review
Delicious food and fair prices!” I first tried Paia Fish Market in Honolulu and absolutely loved it — so when I saw they had one in Maui, I just had to go! And it was totally worth it. The food is so flavorful, the fish perfectly grilled and seasoned, with fresh rice and coleslaw on the side. The atmosphere is casual and lively, with that great island vibe 🌺. The prices are very fair, especially for Maui, and the portions are generous. Highly recommend it — a must-visit spot if you love fresh fish and great local food! 🐟✨

Excellent fresh fish options, my favorite is grilled mahi on a bed of Cesar salad. It gets insanely crowded so dont go at peak hours. Its most pleasant when there aren't a lot of people, we have gone around 1pm and been fine and tried to go at 5:30 and walked away. Great service and easy location. We got now to the one in Kihei because of the fires, the one in Lahaina town is not in service.

Cuatro Restaurant is a popular BYOB eatery in Kihei, offering a blend of Latin and Asian cuisine in a cozy dining setting with white tablecloths. The menu features a fusion of Latin and Pacific Rim flavors, with their award-winning Spicy Tuna Nachos being highly recommended. Guests can bring their own drinks for a corkage fee or purchase from the nearby Foodland Store.
While Mama's Fish House gets the attention on Maui, our favorite on the island is definitely Cuatro in Kihei. Phenomenal chef. We have six reservations during our 2.5 week stay and will still leave without having all of the varieties we love here. The spicy tuna wonton nachos are a MUST here. And ANY fish preparation is delicious. My wife likes their classic style, I like the house style the best. You can't go wrong here...and reservations are highly recommended as it's a small restaurant. Bring your own wine, they don't serve alcohol but it's a small corkage fee. Truly a must visit and "can't miss" when on Maui.
Rich J — Google review
Absolutely delicious! Great service with humor. Lots of social distance, small restaurant with SERIOUSLY fabulous food. We had yellow fin tuna along with calamari and spicy tuna nachos. Beautiful presentation and mouthwatering. Reservations a must and did I mention customer service? Phenomenal. We will definitely return. Bring your own bottle of wine or other beverage for a minimal corkage. Parking is easy. Handicap accessible. Even cloth tablecloth’s!
Susan M — Google review
Food was delicious and staff were attentive without being annoying. My wife and I enjoyed eating here and would go again if we’re in the area. The restaurant is a bit on the small side, so reservations recommended if you want to eat at a specific time. They did not serve alcohol, but you could bring your own and pay a $10 cork fee, so we just grabbed some wine at the Foodland next door.
Steven B — Google review
Food is excellent. The fish tasted fresh and the steak was also very good. The spicy ahi nachos were a stand out choice. The portions were good. The items were somewhat pricey at 30+ dollars per dish. There aren't too many tables, so you may have to make reservations. The pasta was also good.
Ben P — Google review
This unassuming restaurant will surprise you!!! The food was amazing the the service felt very down to earth. You have to bring your own alcohol, which isn’t a problem because Foodland is right next door! Bring a bottle of wine and the servers will keep your cups full. We had the catch of the day, Mahi, it was perfection. But my absolute favorite was the Tuna Nachos! Seriously, they melt in you mouth and burst with flavor! Best thing I’ve eaten in quit awhile! I can’t wait to get back and visit this spot again for a delicious meal in a warm and comfortable atmosphere.
Heather C — Google review
This place is an ABSOLUTE gem. It can compete with any of the Big Name restaurants on the island. The Ahi Nachos are one of the best appetizers I have ever had. The pork entree was to die for. And of all things the Angel Hair pasta was an amazingly light and super flavorful dish.

My wife told me while we were in the restrant that we were going to go back again to Cuatro the next night and we did! That’s how good this place is. Don't let the short menu fool you, everything on it is awesome! We had the shrimp scampi, the chicken and the steak, well actually 2 scampis. The Cesar salad is excellent and the deserts were great too. It ends up being pricey for a family of 4 but the food was phenomenal. Next time I want to try the catch of the day in one if their 4 preparations.

This is our favorite place to eat on Maui! We look forward to at least two dinners here every January. It is small, reservations are essential, and you bring your own wine. The food is exceptional. Service is personal and personable. Don’t miss it if you have the chance. Thanks, Aaron, for a great evening. Again

Great little local deli really good sandwiches salads daily soups they make several salads fresh. Good service, reasonable prices. My only complaint is they have two registers, however, when you call in an order you still have to get in line with everyone else at the one register.

Grabbed breakfast and lunch from this awesome deli while on Maui — everything was fantastic! We tried the breakfast burrito, chop salad, chicken pesto sandwich, and the rooster sandwich. Deli counter, Maui-style! 808 Deli is serving up delicious sandwiches for a very affordable price in Kihei! Food: The menu of hot sandwiches and paninis all sounded so good I was hard pressed to make a decision. I landed on ordering the Belly Dancer without cheese and a hot dog with sauerkraut and mustard. My partner ordered the Shiitake Mushroom Melt, which comes with a side of au jus. The sandwiches are incredibly affordable given the quality of ingredient and portion. Although, both my partner and I had the same experience of the sandwiches being almost too rich. The aioli on the sandwiches are more like a super jazzed up mayo and although it’s delicious, it is almost too rich given the amount put on each sandwich. I almost could not finish mine due to this. The Belly Dancer is supposed to be burnt ends but I found it to be pork belly pieces that were browned a little extra on the flat top to mimic actual burnt ends. The arugula was nice as it added some much needed freshness to a very fatty sandwich. Note: I’d highly recommend the restaurant add a lot more arugula and some type of acid to help cut through the fat of the pork belly and aioli. This sandwich NEEDS balance! The hot dog is 100% beef and, although it’s simple, it was done very well. Mustard was bright and a little punchy. I wish the sauerkraut was a bit more acidic but it’s very mellow. Overall, it was enjoyable- especially for the price. Atmosphere: The place is super clean and very well maintained. You order at the front counter before seating yourself. 808 Deli is a very relaxed, casual vibe. Feels like the type of place you swing by after a day at the beach where you want affordable, good food for lunch. There’s a self service station where you get your own condiments and silverware. I will note that a lot of the silverware was dirty so I ended up using plastic instead. 808 Deli is definitely a place I’d go back to and would recommend for others as well! They’re doing a stellar job and I think with a few small tweaks their food could be even better!

Bakery
The Cinnamon Roll Place has been a beloved specialty bakery for over 30 years, offering a variety of baked goods and sandwiches. However, it's the mouthwatering Cinnamon Rolls that steal the show. These delectable treats, available with or without cream cheese, are freshly made every morning by an expert team who hand-press and roll the dough.
This place completely stole our hearts! These are honestly the most incredible bagels we’ve ever had — insanely delicious, juicy, and unforgettable. The Hawaiian coffee is also the best! We’ve been on Maui for 9 days and came here for breakfast every single day — that’s how good it is! Of course, they’re famous for their cinnamon rolls, but for us the bagels are the real reason we keep coming back again and again. Add to that the wonderful, friendly staff — and you have the perfect breakfast spot. We don’t even want to go anywhere else 😃

Great breakfast spot! There’s usually a line but it moves really fast!! Got the bacon, egg & cheese and the Hawaiian bagel (which is pulled pork, egg and cheese). Delicious!! The bagels are so soft and the eggs were so fluffy!! Super impressed with how delicious and soft the bagels were! Coming from NYC—home of the best bagels, we were super impressed!!
Nancy Q — Google review
This review is based on 20+ years of patronage. This is a popular place for visitors. As such, the line to order can be long. The speed of line is dependent mostly on how prepared customers are to order when it's their turn. The earlier you visit the shorter the line... usually. The staff is very efficient and cordial. They prepare orders quickly once placed. As long as you're prepared to place your order, you and everyone else in line behind you will not experience a long wait. Cinnamon rolls are prepared fresh throughout the morning. Other pre-made breads and treats are also available. In my opinion, all of it is great. On occasion, a large order will be placed, depleting the remaing tray of fresh rolls. However, it will only be a few minutes before the next try will be out of the oven. The coffee here is also delicious. They use mostly locally sourced beans. Coffee is self-served from insulated containers on a separate counter. Outside seating is limited at small tables. Unless you're the first visitor in line when the shop opens, I wouldn't expect tables to be available. It's polite to order before finding (saving) a table. The shop itself is very small. If you arrive with a large group, it would probably be best to have one person stand online and order for the whole group. I've seen groups of 6+ stand in line and all of them go into the shop and stand around taking up space. That's really unnecessary and it makes the line look longer than it actually is. Free parking is plentiful. Check the shop's current hours for accuracy.
Roy A — Google review
These decadent rolls are fresh and pillowy, and worth the wait in line. We wanted to walk away from the counter with our goods in hand so we kept the order to cold brews and cinnamon rolls. They're large so I could have split one, but my partner said he didn't want less than a whole roll.
L — Google review
Unfortunately I only took one picture of the food but that’s how fast it was gone! I’ve been wanting to try the cinnamon rolls here for while and finally got around to checking this place out. The line was out the door but moved fairly fast. Once we ordered, we only had to wait a few minutes for our cinnamon rolls and coffee. Highly recommend Thai iced coffee. The girls are super friendly. Answered all my questions and were so helpful. The cinnamon rolls are totally worth the wait, my other half said they were the best cinnamon rolls he’s ever had. My only regret is I haven’t tried this place sooner.
Eryn B — Google review
Get here early ! It was something really special. The cinnamon rolls were made fresh in store and baked to order basically. We enjoyed watching the whole process. They are filling so you could almost share ! We will go back!

I’ve been here a couple of times on my visits to Maui. One would think to get cinnamon roll right? Tip create your own sandwich with croissant, egg and cheese. You will thank me later. Portions are very generous. They have a couple of other pastries that are huge! Happy to see they’ve made the lobby area a little bigger. Do keep in mind seating isn’t the greatest. More take out vibe than dine in. There are a couple of tables upstairs or just walk to the beach that’s across the street 🏝️
Scott D — Google review
Came here in November 2015, and the owners were the sweetest couple making the best cinnamon rolls. Was excited to see Cinnamon Roll Place was still open when we came back almost 10 years later. Sadly, not the same owners. Cinnamon rolls are still good, but the service was abrupt, cold, and borderline rude. An establishment is equal parts great product and great experience. One without the other doesn’t make a business I want to return to.

Great place for brunch and dinner. Amazing view to catch a sunrise or sunset. We got to try a breakfast omelet, and some chilaquiles both taste great as well as the mimosas they have a couple of flavors available i had the chance to try 4 different flavors and they were all delicious. For dinner, we had a seafood pasta and was just amazed at the great taste of it, definitely a 1st choice for us. The location might be a little hidden. it's on the top floor of the building. You can either take the stairs or the elevator to reach the location.

If you like an open air island concept, this is for you! (We loved it) Definitely makes you feel right where you are with a slice of the coast and tropical breeze the whole time. Service is very friendly and adequate. We went during dinner, but if you want to party, stay a little later! Great bar vibe. The food was tasty, and the portions were great. There is an Argentine fusion in some of the dishes to make it stand out. Even though it's simple, we loved the Lava Fries with a chimichurri sauce that packs just the right amount of flavor and a little heat. The ribs fell off the bone, as they should. Fish tacos had a fresh and tasty salsa. Local favorite Kalua Pork and cabbage was juicy and just right, and if you like lobster you can't beat the price of twin tails with shrimp! I saw several steaks go out....a must for next time. Served on a hot sizzling plate. Avoid the chicken, it looked like chicken strips, battered and fried. Not real meat. Overall, WONDERFUL.

$2 mimosa's with food! This is the best breakfast spot on Maui with the best breakfast happy hour! We originally were going to another breakfast spot near by but they had a very long line. Lava rock bar & grill was just opening at 8am and we were the second people in line, we were seated right away and the service was quick and friendly. We only got breakfast here, but it was so good that we came back two more times for breakfast! The staff and locals here are awesome, we made friends with one of the regulars and had a great time talking with the staff as well, an amazing group of people.

This place seems to be a hit or miss by reading all the reviews. We unfortunately had a miss. I asked for my burger to be well done and it was clearly not. What I could eat of it was just ok. I've had way better burgers elsewhere for the price. Service was poor, but it was kind of busy so maybe that had something to do with it. Someone in my party had the mahi and said it was exceedingly fishy tasting like it was on the verge of turning. The fried chicken strips were soggy. The drinks are tasty, but are very weak. For $13 each I expected more than a glass of juice. I would save your money and go elsewhere, even a fast food joint. You can get juice there too.

I almost missed this restaurant. I actually found it by accident because the one downstairs had a 45 minute wait. I am so glad that we went here the food was awesome. I had the no meat sausage entree and it was delicious love the vegetables love the way the fake meat was cooked it's a great restaurant for vegetarians! my friend had the French onion soup and said it was delicious as her appetizer and for her main meal got a poke bowl and loved it. the thing that is killer is the view!!! Great place to be able to watch the sunset. they have a huge bar and pool tables that are inside the building and the outside patio area is where you can watch the sunset. I'm guessing it's a really hopping place on the weekend because they have a huge dance floor DJ booth speakers etc in and around the bar area. I was worried it was just going to be bar food but the menu is really great and the food was delicious. there's an elevator to get to the second floor or stairs. the wait staff was a little slow because there were quite a few people that all showed up at the same time. at the same time the wait staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu and had a great attitude!!! I recommend this place for anybody who wants good poke bowls vegetarian meal or their specialty steak. it's actually cooked and then brought to you to finish cooking on a lava rock. hence the name lava rock. Enjoy!

We had a great lunch at the Lava Rock Bar and Grill. The Ahi was some of the freshest on the island and the sesame seaweed salad was flavorful and complimentary. My wife enjoyed the loaded fries with aioli. My father-in-law had the barbeque wings. The drinks were beautiful and paired well with the meal. Great atmosphere and service. Isobel was friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

Fork and Salad Maui is a modern, fast-casual venue located in Azeka Plaza. It offers build-your-own salads, sandwiches, soups, and juices with fresh and seasonal ingredients. The atmosphere is described as chill and aloha, with indoor AC or outdoor seating options. Customers can customize their salads with a variety of greens, dressings, and proteins. The staff is known for being helpful and cheerful.
Found this place while wondering around the shopping mall. The food was amazing and very delicious. Kids had a salad and a quesadilla which were both amazing. Adults had papaya salad - and it was incredible. Highly recommend and will come back here again. The staff were really friendly and helpful about their menu and recommended some substitutions for making meals dairy free.

We love this place! Owner (I think) is always so nice (he added the gym discount without even asking). The food is always fresh and good. Love that they support local farms, as well. Our regular favs are the Chicken Thyme sandwich (wife) and Smokey Papaya sandwich (me). She was a bit sad they were out of butternut squash soup this time though. Sandwiches are juicy and messy, but made with care and we always enjoy our meals from here. If you haven’t had lunch here in Kihei, you must!!!

Delicious clean food that is fresh and guilt free. Healthy options packed with flavor. The falafel/quinoa sandwich with a side salad is my favorite. I was only in town a few days but stopped by multiple times. I could not get enough of that delicious taste. Highly recommended.

Used to be a regular client , not anymore and I won’t be coming back anytime soon after last week experience: Ordered a Thai salad on a wrap, I got spinach instead of arugula and cero cashews. Salad wasn’t even tossed. The lady who “made” the salad acted like she hated her job and clearly can’t follow a simple recipe. This is fast food at this point, they don’t even care. I can’t say the same thing about the Kahului location, my experience there was always positive. Called to let them know their mistake and they lied, told me they were gonna call me back and never did. This is why I’m writing this review, I don’t normally rate 1 star local business. 👎🏻

I care a lot about what I put into my body and I find it harder than on the mainland to get an adequate amount of greens and have a balanced diet that is not super fried on island. This is the best place I found for delicious, fresh greens at an affordable price point (although adding proteins makes it a little more expensive). Whenever I come back I will definitely revisit this place!

Ok so the food was good. It is nice to find some crisp romaine and greens, however, the gal who put my bowl together, I later realized, did not change her gloves which she was touching her face, surfaces, and register with besides physically touching the ingredients she was adding to the bowl. It is alarming how unaware people are of these things. People are back to their pre-Covid careless and dirty practices. 😢 I didn’t complain…it might be good for my immune system but hopefully I don’t get the runs. 😣 It’s a make your own bowl place like any other you can find anywhere in a city just with a different name.

Absolutely love love this place! We probably come here once a week and try their different salads. The Caesar Salad is my favorite, and I always leave with extra dressing to make more salads at home! I also love you can take any salad and make it into a wrap for on the go. Thank you for everything you guys do! Makes it easy to stay healthy and keep on track. <3

Akamai Coffee Co. is a must-visit gem in Maui, offering 100% Maui coffees that are worth every penny. Their signature roast and Yellow Brick Road blend are bursting with delightful flavors like caramel, chocolate, and almonds. Located at Wailea Village, this local coffee chain provides locally roasted coffee, handcrafted espresso drinks, and delectable pastries and breakfast items.
Love this coffee shop. The coffee is the best in all of Hawaii in my opinion and it’s not even close. The specials, light to medium roasts and cold brew - I could have it every day. I buy merch every time I come to Maui from here. Great quality clothing and great styles and designs.

Hands down the best coffee I had in Maui! The beans are truly something else, rich, smooth, and full of flavor. You can tell they put real care into what they serve, and it shows in every sip. We ordered two lattes, one with brown sugar and one with vanilla, and both were amazing. The flavors were balanced, not overly sweet, and complemented the quality of the espresso perfectly. We also shared a cheese danish that my husband absolutely loved. He said it was one of the best he has ever had, and I have to agree -- buttery, flaky, and so fresh. The shop itself has such a fun, cozy vibe. There's even a swing inside, which adds such a unique and playful touch. It's the kind of place you actually want to hang out in, not just grab a coffee and go. Service was excellent. The barista was super friendly and even made the cutest latte art, which totally made my day. I ordered a 12 oz and loved that it came in a mug, while my husband got a 16 oz to-go. My only wish is that they would offer mugs for the larger sizes too. It would be a nice way to cut down on paper and plastic and make the experience even better. Overall, Akamai Coffee is a gem. Between the amazing drinks, delicious pastries, welcoming atmosphere, and thoughtful service, it's the kind of place you'll want to visit again and again. If you're in Maui, definitely make time to stop by. You won't regret it!

We had two great visits at Akamai Coffee when we were staying in Kihei last month. The family-owned coffee shop (there are three locations in Maui) serves coffee grown on Maui and roasted by Akamai. The Kihei location is spacious with ample seating in a warm, comfortable environment. On our first visit, I had the Hawaiian Honeybee latte with espresso, honey, coconut, vanilla, and milk (oat for me). This was such a terrific drink and the perfect way to start the day. When we were there the first time, I knew we had to come back because I saw their fall seasonal menu had some good-looking choices. On our second visit, I did have the Autumn Spice latte with cardamom, orang, cinnamon, espresso, and milk--it was like a warm hug. I could have that drink every day. Service was terrific both times. There is a drive-thru here and they open at 6am, which is perfect for us early risers. If you want a bite, they offer pastries, toasts, bagels, wraps, and sandwiches. Definitely a five-star experience!

Akamai Coffee: A Maui Must-Visit Located in the Kehei area, Akamai Coffee is an absolute gem for coffee lovers. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making every visit a delightful experience. The coffee itself is exceptional, with a fantastic array of unique and flavorful specialty drinks. I was particularly blown away by the Road to Hana (R2H), a hot masterpiece expertly crafted by my barista, Casey. Her infectious island smile and deep coffee knowledge elevated the entire experience. The coffee shop boasts a fun and relaxed atmosphere with quirky swinging chairs and both indoors and outdoors sesting options. Parking is available in the back, and they even have a convenient drive-thru. While tucked away in an office building, Akamai Coffee is definitely worth seeking out. I can’t wait to return for another cup of perfection. Highly recommended!

This is possibly to most unfriendly and not customer service orientated coffee shop I have visited. The staff make you feel like you are inconveniencing them, and this was on more than one occasion. At my third visit early one morning (not sure why I even chose to go back), there were none of their usual glass cups at the water dispenser (i.e. they were not replenished as part of their store opening routine) and I had to call a person four times who was just on the other side of the counter before she raised her head as she was clearly ignoring me, to ask for cups. To which her colleague took plastic take out cups and slammed them down at the water dispenser in a very evident huff, and walked away. At which point I too walked away and went to Java Coffee Shop in the next door centre, and had a completely opposite experience - a warm friendly greeting, a thank you with a smile, and just an overall lovely experience. So my recommendation - skip this place and go to Java where you are appreciated as a paying customer.

Cortado was too milky. Barely tasted any coffee. I don’t think they know the difference between a Cortado and a 6oz latte.
Yiwen Z — Google review
Our original plan was to stop here on our way to do the Road to Hana, but we loved it so much we made sure to stop by the following morning (our last day in Maui) as well! The staff on both days were friendly and helpful. The coffee is delicious! They have some really fun and tasty specialty coffee options. I tried both the Hawaiian Honeybee and Road to Hana (iced) and enjoyed them both a lot. They have some fun hanging chairs as well as other seating areas inside, but we did think the interior felt warm (like there was no A/C or it wasn't on). There were a couple tables out front as well. We will definitely visit Akamai Coffee on future trips to Maui! Two thumbs up!

This place is the BEST place for fresh food, made with love and care....and most importantly, it's delicious!! Gina, Josh, Michelle and Christina create such a welcoming atmosphere, which translates to the food. My favorite is the Power Boat, however I also love checking the daily specials too, to switch things up. The food is all made fresh to order too. I'm confident whatever you choose, your taste buds will thank you. They also play great tunes 😊👍

Such great food and super friendly owners. I crushed the lotus bowl- super yum veggies, tofu and rice. My wife had the BBQ chicken and it was delicious!! MASSIVE BONUS- they have a dog menu and we got our Great Dane the Turkey and Veggie bowl and, because she’s 130lb they gave an extremely generous portion that she demolished in about 2 minutes. They also have real good, fresh juices and home made pastries like banana bread! I think this will be our new Friday tradition

Service: Very friendly staff and food was delivery fairly quick. Atmosphere: Very clean with sitting inside and outside. Nice music inside to enjoy the lunch. Overall, great experience. I don’t think they have restrooms. Free parking within the plaza, we found a spot very quick when we arrived (Saturday at 10am)

I’m honestly shocked by how I was treated here. I’ve spent around $300 in the past two weeks at this place, and after today, I will never be back. The moment I walked in, the owner was giving me attitude and dirty looks for absolutely no reason. I was speaking quietly on the phone, at a volume you’d use in a library, and was immediately told to “get off the phone or put headphones in.” Meanwhile, everyone else in the cafe was talking to each other normally. It felt targeted and completely unnecessary — as if simply having a phone call was some kind of personal offense. The whole interaction was unprofessional, rude, and completely disproportionate. I’ve supported this business consistently, only to be spoken to like I was doing something wrong when I wasn’t disturbing anyone. On top of that, they advertise their food as “organic” and “not from a box or bag,” yet the kitchen is wide open, and you can clearly see boxes and bags of processed ingredients being used. The marketing does not match what’s actually happening. I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience pushed me to. I won’t spend another dollar here, and I definitely do not recommend this place based on how customers are treated.

Kitoko Maui is a unique mobile restaurant located in Kihei, offering an exceptional dining experience with its impressive dishes. The chef, formerly from the Four Seasons, showcases fine dining expertise through creations like seared swordfish bento and poke with magenta dragonfruit ponzu. The food truck is nestled in a tropical plant wonderland where guests can enjoy live music and find cozy spots among the palms to savor their meals.
This is by far the best dining experience you can have on Maui. This place deserves a Michelin star for its food and service and attention to detail. We came here multiple times during our stay on Maui and everything was exceptional. Dishes are creative, presentation is amazing and the taste is unbelievable. Chef and his staff are super friendly and caring. They are happy to answer questions or help you chose a dish. We’ve tried Kauai Shrimp, Crispy pork belly, Ono Poke and Lobster. Also there Lilikoi Pie is perfect. I hope they get the recognition they deserve for their hard work and creativity. Thank You!

Food: I was so disappointed about the flavors in my dish. I don’t think they went well together or tasted good. The veggies were on the harder side although their fish was tender and their crispy rice had a good crunch. Their presentation was beautiful though! Service: Friendly staff although they take a while to get your order out. Atmosphere: Place is in a food truck location so there’s plenty of outdoor seating. However, we had to move multiple times because there were so many flies and ants at our tables. Great for large parties and kid-friendly.

If you get the chance, eat here. Kitoko served the best food we had on our entire trip to Maui, and we ate at most of the famous and upscale restaurants. The venison was off the hook incredible. I could eat it every day and die a very happy man. The shrimp dish came with amazing crispy garlic that the only negative was that we didn't get more. The crispy pirk belly was cooked perfectly, and the accompanying purple potato gnocchi were so soft they practically melted in your mouth. The jicama carrot and radish slaw had a very delicious unique flavor, not quite pickled. Everything was cooked on multiple grills in their open-air kitchen right in front of you. They have tables set up in beautiful outdoor surroundings. Seriously, this place is amazing. Eat here first, thank me later.

It’s wonderful place for whole family. Tables in the shadows of palms, Buddhas everywhere, the sounds of nature and amazing cuisine. There were flies and small ants around the table we were sitting, it’s the only thing that annoyed us a bit.

10/10!! We had the seafood platter and everything from the lobster, the fish, to the salad was amazing. Totally worth wait and the cost and by far one of the best meals we had in Maui. Don’t forget to grab their lilikoi tart next door!

Wanted to love it after reading about it I was so stoked to try it but the mahi was fishy, the bao were stodgy and underdone, the shrimp were slimy and the ube gnocchi made the dish sweet. Kihei Food Truck Park is a must-visit for those craving a quick and delicious meal. Nestled behind Azeka Shopping Center, this well-designed park features a semi-circle of food trucks and trailers surrounding covered picnic tables. The gravel ground keeps the area relatively dust-free during the summer. With an array of options ranging from mouthwatering fish tacos to classic American burgers and international cuisine, visitors can savor high-quality fare without the long wait.
This is a cute little food truck hub! We tried both Maui Shrimp (honey walnut rosemary shrimp plate) and Vidad’s Local Kine Grindz (poke bowl). If you’re visiting Maui, def would recommend finding food here and supporting local rather than bigger chains you’ll find. There’s plenty of parking and covered picnic tables to enjoy a nice meal. Pita Paradise is a hidden gem in the Wailea Gateway Center, offering a blend of Greek and Italian cuisine with a sea-to-table concept. The warm interiors are adorned with murals, creating a cozy atmosphere for locals and tourists alike. The restaurant prides itself on using fish caught by its owner, ensuring fresh and high-quality seafood dishes. From grilled Mahi Mahi to Mediterranean tapas and cocktails, the menu features an array of delectable options.
The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are excellent. I started with the ziziki bread, which was delicious and a great way to begin the meal. I had Johnny’s Fresh Catch, featuring mahi mahi with Mediterranean slaw, and it was outstanding, especially with the spicy ziziki sauce. For any pitas that come with lettuce and tomato, I recommend substituting the Mediterranean slaw—it’s a great upgrade. The baklava ice cream cake for dessert was amazing, with fresh baklava, vanilla ice cream, and a honey drizzle that was even better than I expected.

We visited on 23 July 2025. This time nothing much to share as we didn't take pictures of dishes & drinks we ordered and served, took pictures of menu only. We were huge numbers of people, more than 20. Their food are very tasty, their service is excellent. Menu has vast choices. I was able to take just menu pictures. It's worth visiting when you are in Kihei, HAWAII . Menu pictures are below 👇

The first time I ate here back in 2014 it was very good. In 2025, not so much. ATMOSPHERE: Quaint corner spot on the lower level of the Wailea Gateway Center strip mall, with a small and private outdoor area seating area with big umbrellas. The bistro's interior has a very warm look and feel, almost romantic even. RESERVATIONS: Recommended, but we got seated immediately at the bar. FOOD: Lamb Pasta No longer offered but damn, it was tasty. Hummus -n- Pita This was a tasty little app that's now extinct. Lamb Kabob I had high hopes of eating a delish kabob like we had in Istanbul, but this recipe needed a lot more seasoning. The meat was fairly tender. DESSERT: Baklava Ice Cream I love ice cream and loved this too. SERVICE: We sat at the bar and had excellent service.

We had the best meal of our trip to Maui at Pita Paradise! As vegetarians, it can sometimes be hard to find great options, but this place absolutely delivered. We started with the pesto pitza appetizer — the pesto was incredibly flavorful and paired perfectly with the fresh veggies. For the entrée, the eggplant arrabbiata pasta was the highlight of the night, with a rich, unique sauce full of eggplant and onions that gave it amazing flavor and texture. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails and local beers, all recommended by our server, and they were fantastic. On top of the amazing food, the ambience was beautiful, and the live music added a wonderful touch to the evening. Huge shoutout to our server — she was so kind, friendly, and her suggestions made the meal perfect. Can’t wait to come back here on our next visit to Maui. Highly recommend!

Rather disappointed with food, the menu is limited and appealing, but the execution is very basic. The fish of the day was way too cooked (and way too expensive compared to meat, for 2 small skewers), the tuna tartare did not have any taste of tuna because of the amount of sauce. The outside is quite nice, though. And our waitress, Chloe, was fantastic.

Where do you find the best value in all of Wailea? Right here… at Pita Paradise. The owners are awesome… I remember going to their parents’ Greek Bistro back in the day… and that same heart is alive here today… The Mediterranean chicken pita… packed with flavor... The lamb gyro pita… classic and perfect… The Zeus burger… (A knockout) And the ahi appetizer… unreal freshness straight from the ocean… Don’t sleep on the chicken Parm either.. This isn’t just food… it’s sea-to-table done right. Captain Johnny still brings in the catch daily… and you can taste the difference… The service is warm… the vibe is authentic… and the value? In Wailea, nothing else even comes close. Mahalo you guys!!!

Fat Daddy's Smokehouse is a cozy BBQ joint located in South Kihei's Kalama Village, offering a variety of meats smoked with beer-soaked kiawe wood and classic, hearty sides. The restaurant is known for its deliciously sweet-tart Key lime pie with buttery graham-cracker crust and house-made dry rub seasoned meats that are smoked over kiawe wood for up to sixteen hours.
We have been visiting Fat Daddy's for over 20 years. It is under new ownership as of several years ago, but the BBQ is just as delicious. My wife loves the chicken! Hands down her favorite chicken, anywhere. I love the ribs and brisket. Their burnt ends are amazing. Oh, and their sides, especially the cornbread are phenomenal!
Robert H — Google review
I'm not sure if they changed ownership in the past 6-months, but the brisket in this photos is not what they were serving. What I had was more like roasted beef with smoke flavoring... and not much of it. The texture was reflective of that, too; mushy and watery flavored. Anyway, the photo says it all. You can see there's no smoke layer, nor bark from being inside of a smoker. To add insult to injury, I ordered a double portion, so my dinner was $35. I would've been better off getting prime rib at Cafe ole. Also, the Mac & cheese is basic (maybe even Velveeta), not the multi-cheese they claimed. And, I'm not sure what took 20-minutes to get my food out? Everything should've already been cooked. Even the corn bread was soppy and cool.
Joey V — Google review
We are vacationing in Maui and felt like barbecue, so we headed to nearby Fat Daddy's Smokehouse. We were warmly welcomed at the counter and the menu was clearly listed on the blackboard on the wall behind the counter. We ordered our food and in a short time it was delivered to the table. I ordered St. Louis ribs. They were smoky, meaty, and delicious. My wife ordered brisket. She shared some with me and it was lean, smoky, and tasty. My sister ordered chicken and shared a bite with me. It was smoky, moist, and flavorful. We also had a variety of sides: The Carolina slaw was crisp and tangy. The red bliss potato salad was creamy with a hint of dill. The cornbread had the perfect texture and sweetness (not too sweet). The mac 'n cheese had a velvety texture. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The food and service were both quite good. We left satisfied and happy. Fat Daddy's Smokehouse is a great place for barbecue in Kihei.

It makes it hard to rate this so low, as it used to be much more enjoyable. Since Covid, they have still not resumed beer/alcohol service, no biggie for me, I don't drink anymore, but lower your expectations. There is a large, fenced in patio area that used to be pleasant outside-ish seating. That area is now used for storage. The owner was working and said he needed to get it up to storage. If there's storage, don't clutter the visual aspect of your tiny dining room with boxes of storable items, and give a little comfort space. I asked how he was keeping open, catering? He said, "low labor". So he's not providing many jobs. It used to be a sit down place, now you order at the counter, take your number to your table with your can of soda or overpriced Costco bottle water, 25 cents at Costco, and add additional plastic waste to the island. He said business really hasn't come back.... Probably due to atmosphere and options. I understand business fell close to a complete stop after the fires, but most of the restaurants in the area are doing great currently. The food was good, usually great. I know it's smoked, and keeping it too warm can overcook/dry it out, but it was just above room temp. Portions were okay, Truffle Mac and cheese didn't taste much different than regular, potato salad had a good dressing, but was more just chunks of potato with dressing in it. Food is served on paper on a small baking sheet with paper liner; the meat was tender enough to cut with a basic dinner knife, but as the paper got soggy, it was easily cut into and pieces come up with your bite. Maui doesn't have a lot of good BBQ options, wish they cared more.

Everything was perfect! Ribs and chicken were seriously some of the best I, and my boyfriend have ever had. Literally falling off of the bone! Oh and the cornbread, BOMB 👌🏻 I felt as if the prices were more than fair for the quality! Definitely worth stopping by

MUST TRY!!! We like bbq, this was some of the best we have had a while. Brisket!! Wow!! It was tender, smoked, and made with love. With that plate hubby got the Mac & cheese, and slaw. All were great! I got the ribs (half rack 4 ribs), chili garlic beans and potato salad. All was good the potato salad stood out. Let's discuss this corn bread!! This is a highlight thats completes the meal! Sooo good we took 2 pieces to go. Mai Tai and draft on tap, yum. Employee at the register (in my pic) was super friendly, helpful and great attitude. The employee bringing food was also the same. Customer service makes a huge difference. We found a picnic table in the patio. A few inside tables were open. Parking in the shopping center and surrounding area. Got there around 7pm. Thanks Fat Daddy's, we will be back!

Small portions. Okay ribs. Bland sides. Not a true Texas smoke house. Overall, the pricing, portions, and taste do not correlate. Got the half rack of ribs, TX hot links, and pulled pork with truffle Mac n cheese, fried jalapeno balls, and cornbread. Ribs were okay. Not exactly the "melt off the bone" kinds I was looking for. TX links were okay, juicy, a bit lacking in spice despite being named "hot". Pulled pork was bland and boring. It tasted like boiled strings of pork. Neither juicy nor tender. Truffle Mac n cheese was bland and too oily. Fried Jalapeno balls were basically tasteless fried batter. Cornbread was decent, but $3.5 a piece? Real smoke houses provide them for free...

We had dinner at fat daddy's smokehouse and the food was delicious. Eric was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He knew the food well and could tell he enjoyed it himself. This is not a super fancy smoke house nor should a smoke house be super fancy. Fat daddy's smokehouse has a real classic smokehouse vibe and is a must try should you ever visit Maui.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in Kihei, Maui, Fabiani's is a delightful family-owned restaurant that offers an authentic Italian dining experience. The cozy and casual setting provides the perfect backdrop for savoring handmade Italian dishes and freshly baked goods. Whether you're enjoying the tranquil interior or dining alfresco on the charming small patio, you'll be treated to a taste of everyday Italian-inspired eating.
I read the straightforward menu of items that all sounded delicious online before deciding to go. It wasn't quite what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised. When you walk in, there is a table with menus and a sign that says order at the counter. Once you order, you take a number to the table and sit down wherever you like. This idea has been done of course, I've just never seen it in an Italian restaurant that wasn't fast food. I ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and my husband had the spaghetti with meatballs and we shared the garlic bread. We sat down and a lady from the bar brought us our drinks. And then they got really busy, really quickly. I watched as two people ran the entire front of house. Cashiering, waiting tables, bartending, packing to go orders, clearing tables, etc. and they did it all with a smile and connecting with their guests. The kitchen kept up with the crowd as well and our food came out in a timely manner starting with the garlic bread. By the way it isn't just garlic bread, it's focaccia and it is outstanding! Everything was incredible. If I lived around here I would be a regular at this establishment!

We went for dinner at 5:30 on a Sunday evening and there were very few patrons. It did fill up more as the evening went along. Order at the counter but once you are seated, your server brings real plates, very heavy duty paper napkins, and plastic water glasses. You can sit outside under a shade cover with wind protection around the sides and no chickens or sparrows. Or choose to sit inside in the AC. N-A drinks appear to be only bottled, canned or juice boxes ... nothing from the fountain. Garlic bread is an appetizer that you order from the board, extra $ for cheese on top, extra $ for marinara. If you like thin crust pizza, then this is a real delight. It truly had a perfect crunch--was not soggy. The pasta in our lasagna was delectable. It truly just melts in your mouth. You can tell that all of the marinara is very fresh. They offered freshly grated cheese on both our pizza and lasagna. We ran out of water twice. Because you don't really have a server, just someone who brings your meal to the table with your number on it, I guess no one is watching. Once we asked though, she brought it right away. Overall, our server was very good and our food came promptly. We had to go back to the counter to order and pay for dessert because we weren't sure when we originally ordered if we would "have room." Even though the dessert is in a refrigerated case at the cashier, you do have to go back to your table and wait for it to be brought to you.

ATMOSPHERE: Nice size space in a new strip mall called South Maui Center which is on the east side of Lipoa Center. Dark decor but very inviting, very spacious with a big bar. FOOD: Caesar Salad Holy bageezuz I've found my new favorite creator of this run-of-the-mill salad. Available in side or full sizes, all the Romaine leaves were bathed in their perfectly creamy dressing that wasn't fishy or tart, but deliciously just right. I haven't had a dressing this tasty in years. Instead of traditional croutons came 2 spears of crunchy focaccia crostinis. Linguine Alle Vongole Very, very bland. The broth at the bottom of the dish had a deep garlic flavor but not much else; no saltiness or butteriness. The pasta was just plain tasteless. The clams were good. At first I declined having grated cheese added to my seafood dish - a big no-no in Italy - but after having zero flavor on my buds I flagged down the server for some. Well, a lot actually. Spaghetti Bolognese I was hesitant about ordering this as too many places make theirs sweet which is totally gross to me. A few fellow Yelpers mentioned the taste as "spot on" and "perfect". I even asked our server who denied it being sweet. Sold. And hot damn, what a killer dish it was! The sauce had the perfect consistency - meaty, a little wet, but not drowning in sauce. And best of all, it was NOT sweet but perfectly balanced with a little salt and hint of sweetness from the tomatoes' natural flavors. The pasta was al dente, and the dish came out piping hot and stayed that way the whole way through, a first for me! The portion was generous and the price affordable. Highly recommended. Penne Rosa Their version of a vodka sauce, done with mainly tomatoes and onions. The two forkfuls I tried were good, but there wasn't enough tomato flavor or salt. The dish needs some kind of salty meat like prosciutto or cheese to give it some life. The Maui Meaty All the pizzas are one size, with a thin, chewy crust. This version was topped with Italian sausage, pepperoni, and honey ham. It was tasty but a little too salty from the meats. I'd definitely try other toppings next time. SERVICE: Consistently good throughout the years. OVERALL: Extremely tasty caesar, bolognese and good pizza. Good portions & affordable. A definite return!

We discovered Fabiani's recently, after moving from Kula to Kihei, we love it here. The staff is friendly and professional. If it were in a different location, it would be packed and more expensive. I keep wanting to try something different, but could taste the spaghetti and meatballs on the drive here. My wife loves the scallop appetizer and the Ahi Bruchetta. And those desserts!

Kinaole Grill Food Truck is a beloved tropical-themed food truck located in Kihei, offering classic Hawaiian dishes against the stunning backdrop of Kamaole Beach Park. The menu features traditional favorites like coconut shrimp, grilled mahi mahi, and the standout seared ahi dish that embodies the essence of Hawaiian cuisine. Visitors rave about the exceptional quality of every item on the menu and appreciate the beautiful murals adorning the truck.
Most amazing food, huge portions everything was beyond excellent. All entrees come with a teriyaki rice pilaf and creamy oriental mixed greens salad with goat cheese. Wasabi cream is excellent as was the guava BBQ

So good I went 3x on my trip but it wasn’t there on my last day in Kihei (Monday). I’d had it on my to-eat list and was going to order the spicy garlic shrimp until a local woman got her order saying “it’s so good I could cry!” So I had what she was having: the coconut shrimp. 5 huge shrimp fried golden brown - tasted fresh and lightly sweet. I’ve never been a coconut shrimp fan but I’m a convert. Next day tried the ahi bombs - also delicious with the wasabi sauce but the coconut shrimp is the stand out. 5 stars also for the generous salad and addictive creamy ginger dressing. I’m sad they weren’t there for my last night as I’ll be dreaming about the shrimp until my next visit.

Two of us had Cajun shrimp. The other two had mahi-mahi. All was excellent! One of the best food trucks we’ve eaten at! On the other Hawaiian islands, food trucks provide some of the best food we have had. this island has proved no exception. Instead of the normal plain white sticky rice, this had some sort of teriyaki sauce on it that made it very tasty. The salad and it’s dressing or equally delicious. I would return to this food truck and a heartbeat.

I tried them at Kihei Fourth Friday years ago. FOOD: Calamari Had I known they were STEAKS and not the rings & tentacles, I wouldn't have gotten this. I could've inquired, but it also should've been listed on the board. The calamari were cooked nicely. The potato mac salad was horribly tangy. Miracle Whip perhaps? SERVICE: Friendly but super slow. Waited almost 20 minutes for my plate. OVERALL: I'd give them another try but pass on the calamari!

Nestled conveniently close to the beach, with ample parking for a quick stop, this food truck has become a staple of my dining routine. Its prime location next to where I live, coupled with the easy access for beachgoers, makes it an ideal spot for grabbing a bite after a day in the sun or during a leisurely beach walk. One of the most commendable aspects of this food truck is the service. Despite its popularity, especially during rush hours, the staff manages the queue with efficiency, politeness, and accuracy. The wait time is surprisingly short given the crowd it draws, a testament to the team's dedication and organization. The highlight for me, however, has been the food. It's rare to find a food truck that surpasses expectations to the degree this one has. Both the taste and presentation of their dishes are remarkable, rivaling that of high-end restaurants. Each meal is a testament to the culinary skill and passion of the chefs behind the window, offering a gourmet experience on the go. A minor note for future patrons: it's preferable to pay with cash, as the truck imposes a 2.75% fee for card transactions. While slightly inconvenient, this detail is easily overshadowed by the overall value and quality of the food and service provided. In summary, this food truck is a hidden gem by the beach. Its combination of a convenient location, exceptional service, and outstanding culinary offerings make it a must-visit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, missing out on what this food truck has to offer would be a mistake
Alex Y — Google review
This truck was such a pleasant surprise, so much so I had to go back for dinner the next night - and I was only in Maui for two nights. The food absolutely blew my mind, even though it’s a simple plate of wild rice, salad with feta and a creamy, sweet dressing, and a fried or grilled entree of your choice. We had coconut shrimp and calamari the first time and the mahi mahi and ahi bombs the second time. Both times were incredible. My personal favorite was the calamari. There had to be at least eight sticks of squid. The portion sizes for all of them were generous and filling, even for a hungry person. The seafood was all fried to perfection, and paired well with the rice and salad. It’s all mouth wateringly good. Please pay them a visit when staying near this area in Maui.

Nestled in the vibrant town of Kihei, South Maui Fish Company is a must-visit food truck that captures the essence of Hawaiian cuisine. This rustic eatery specializes in serving up fresh seafood sourced directly from local waters, ensuring every bite is bursting with flavor. Their menu features an enticing selection of poke bowls, where you can customize your dish with options like ahi tuna or marlin over a bed of rice, topped with delightful sauces and garnishes.
This place just served us the best, freshest poke we’ve ever had. We got the poke plate half spicy and half shoyu. Both were amazing but the shoyu was so good. I had to go no rice just to savor the flavor and texture of the tuna. The fish taco was fire and they are really generous with the fish portion. the papaya habanero hot sauce was super unique and paired really well with the taco. The pesto Mac was a nice side as well. Also the owner (or staff?) was so friendly. He was super passionate about telling us about the fish we were going to eat. We got lucky since there was an extra order of fish tacos they made by mistake and he gave it to us on the house! We didn’t get his name but it’s our honeymoon and it just made our night so thank you!

We heard so much about this place, but it wasn’t our favorite. We got the poke plate (forgot to get an image) and it was delicious! That being said, we had good poke everywhere! We were recommended to get the fish tacos. There is SO MUCH meat! However, they lacked a lot of flavor unfortunately. Definitely give it a try for the poke, and may the fish was just a bad day :)

The best fish tacos I’ve ever had. They’ve mastered the simplicity of the ingredients and combining them to create a symphony of flavors. The fish was impeccably fresh and it was paired with a slaw, unagi dressing and an aioli. We came back twice! I’d suggest getting here a few hours after open just so there’s time for them to get a groove with the grill. Thank you for this wonderful experience, we look forward to coming back.

South Maui Fish Company is an absolute must-visit! The fish here is incredibly fresh — you can taste the difference in every bite. Everything is cooked to order, hot, flavorful, and bursting with that just-caught quality. The poke is a standout — easily some of the best on the island and a must-try. Friendly service, casual island vibe, and unbeatable freshness make this spot a true Maui gem!

Solid rec from a local and so lucky we did. Nestled inside of a shopping square you’ll find, and I say confidently, the best poke of your like. Went for the traditional poke bowl and wow, was too much food to handle but it was a dish where you could not leave any of it behind. Long lines started to form after our arrival but they’re quick with service and very friendly. As we socialized with other customers they were also recommended by locals of this fantastic spot. Some customers had genius ideas and pairing their bowls with drinks and cocktails from one of the restaurants inside. No matter where you are on the island, it’s a drive you should make.

This is an amazing little food truck that serves line caught fresh fish. When we arrived for dinner they told us that they only had 20 servings left for the day. We felt lucky to have gotten there when we did. They grill the fish right there on the side of the food truck when you order it. I'm not a tartar sauce fan but theirs is spectacular. They do have some kids-friendly options like a hot dog so that you're not having to spend money on high quality fish that your kids might not like. The environment around the food truck is eclectic to say the least. There are several small vendors and establishments in the surrounding building, a bar, and no lack of character. This place is definitely a hidden gem. We had the ahi as you can see in the picture and also poke. The poke was the best my wife has ever had anywhere. The ahi was cooked perfectly and tasted like it had just come out of the ocean. These guys have got it figured out! They do use peanut oil but they have a warning right on the window that suggests you talk to them about allergies.

Fresh fish with traditional japanese style. Not authentic, but it is classic comfort poke food. Very happy with freshness and size of fish in fish taco. Poke fish was very fresh and yummy also. If you are expecting an authentic poke. This is not the place. But if you are looking for classic yummy poke, this is it!

South Maui Fish Company and Paul delivered one of our favorite Maui experiences we've had. Our idea was to quickly pick up some dinner and make it to Kalama park to watch the sunset. We enjoyed Paul's excitement as he made suggestions for us to eat, convincing us to get the Ahi tacos (Unagi sauce on side), Poke Bowl (both flavors), and a large Smoked Ahi Mac with Unagi sauce (added by suggestion)! Paul had the smart thinking of serving us up the Poke Bowl while we waited for the Tacos to go. The Rice and Coconut Slaw were amazingly supportive sides with what we learned was bigeye Ahi caught nearby. We melted over the taste of each item as we soaked in the best Maui sunset of the week. We came back to the little market after to tell Paul how great it all was and pick up some merch. I'd highly suggest making this a must try when you're in the South Shore.

South Shore Tiki Lounge is a popular eatery in Maui known for its relaxed atmosphere and diverse menu. The tiki bar features traditional and creative cocktails, while the decor exudes a typical tiki surfboard style with thatched roofs and bamboo bars. Monthly art shows attract a discerning audience, and the venue offers laid-back lanai seating, late-night dancing, and live music for all ages.
My fiancé had been craving a pizza so we stopped by here. We were sat outside on the patio and the atmosphere was very warm. There was live music and the server was very welcoming. We ordered a pizza and some drinks and enjoyed the music.

Sunday Night Delight at South Shore Tiki Lounge After seeing South Shore Tiki Lounge absolutely buzzing the night before in Kalama Village, my wife and I decided to give it a try. We half-expected the same lively scene on a Sunday night, but it was surprisingly mellow – perfect for a relaxed evening. We were immediately welcomed with a warm smile and the invitation to "sit anywhere," so we naturally gravitated towards the patio where live music filled the air. First, drinks! I opted for a Beach Bum Rum, a tropical concoction of Malibu Melon, Midori, mango, and lemonade that instantly put me in vacation mode. My wife, ever the fan of local flavors, loved her Maui Brewing Company Dragon Fruit seltzer. Then came the appetizer: crispy fried calamari that arrived with an unexpected, yet delightful, surprise – fried pickles! The tempura breading was incredibly light and crispy, making every bite of calamari and pickle perfectly crunchy and incredibly flavorful. Given South Shore's reputation for pizza, we couldn't resist. Our waitress was fantastic, letting us mix and match a small pizza half-and-half. One half was the hearty South Shore Combo (red sauce, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Hawaiian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, red onions, and black olives). The other half was the intriguing Sweet Kalua (BBQ sauce, kalua pork, pineapple, and green onions), offering a satisfying play between sweet and tart. The thin, crispy crust was spot on, and they did a stellar job of splitting the flavors right down the middle. My only small note is that the sweet oil from the Kalua side did migrate a bit, affecting the tips of my savory half. If you're as particular about your pizza flavors as I am, you might consider ordering separate small pizzas to avoid any flavor mingling. Despite that minor detail, our experience was truly enjoyable. We had a great time and would certainly return to South Shore Tiki Lounge on our next visit!

Amazing atmosphere! Live music by local artists plus loud chirping birds add a unique vibe. The meals I highly recommend are in the appetizer section: pork sliders and the coconut shrimp!! For drinks, get the Beach Bum Rum or Volcano Jalapeño Martini. The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 star is I thought the Da Hawaiian pizza was just alright - not bad and not memorable either. Overall, really great experience!

In search of another great Mai Tai. Unfortunately, not here. The rum was way too medicinally sharp. Advertised as "velvet". Any thing but. Added more pineapple to it. Didn't help much. Was it made with the cheapest Bacardi? Very disappointing. We'll head to the Hula Bar at Whaler Village, which is consistently smooth & yummy! Good vibes & nice live music though.

Really cute and fun place! The food was great. The live music was great. We sat outside and were met with people's bare feet who were seated above us on the patio, at eye/mouth level. We moved our table over some to get the feet out of our faces. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and bothered. The food was excellent. Drinks were okay, not great. We had a random person sit next to us at our table so they could watch the live music, and that was a little uncomfortable. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience with great food.

We came to the Ohana Grill on the last night of the vacation. We were not disappointed nor were we thrilled. The food was good but not great. My biggest complaint would be that I asked for my steak in my burger to be medium rare however it was all gray when I took a bite. Overall not too bad.

Hostess was super nice and on it, very cute and helpful with our young Daughters. Atmosphere was very chill and beach-bar like. We sat on the covered deck part and could see some ocean and catch a little breeze. The food was good and priced fairly, same with the drinks. They had some live music getting set up as we were leaving which looked like it was going to be fun. Wow!! Glad we stumbled upon this place. I love gelato. Ordered a small and it was plenty. Tried the pineapple and island roots flavors… both so delicious. (Did not get a photo) Will be back for more. Also ordered the Haleakala with cookies & cream. To die for!!!

Amaaaaazing waffles. They take the time to do it, but it’s 100% worth the wait. Great strong coffee too, better than most of the places on the island

Wow Wow Lemonade Maui is a must-visit spot with multiple locations offering fresh-infused lemonades and Acai bowls made from locally sourced ingredients. The menu features innovative handcrafted lemonades, including sugar-free options, dairy-free acai bowls, superfood smoothies, toasts, and grain bowls. Their Haupia Ono Acai Bowl topped with coconut macaroons is a filling and delightful way to start the day.
I’ve been here twice on my trip already and love their açaí bowls. We also got avocado toast and a blue Hawaii cold brew. The avocado toast was tasty but I wish they had a thicker bread and the cold brew was good! So far I got the Da Kine açaí bowl and the blue Hawaii and both were delicious!

I ordered the Lava Flow lemonade. I cannot taste the strawberry, coconut, or pineapple. Just looks pretty and tastes like normal, tart lemonade. Isn’t something I need again.

WOW is right! I had the mango pineapple sugar-free lemonade, & it was easily the best lemonade I’ve ever had. No sharpness, pure fruit taste, & absolutely delicious.

Went twice last week because it was so good!!! We each got a bowl both times. The pitaya was our favourite, had the most flavour in the base. Toppings are fresh and so good. Vibes inside are cool and staff are great.

Pretty average açaí bowl — nothing special. I’ve definitely had better ones elsewhere.

Amazing place, fresh fruit, everything organic. Best snack ever and incredible service!!! Their peanut butter is a must

Wish we had more time to visit this place more than once! I don't normally like lemonade but the butterfly one was delicious and pretty. Loved the Mason jar add on option as a souvenir. I'm sure the acai bowls are delicious as well but they were out for the day by the time we arrived in mid afternoon. Even if you don't like lemonade, give one a try! It was refreshing and not too sweet or tart.

Peace Love Shave Ice is a popular spot in South Kihei, Maui, known for its fantastic shave ice and refreshing drinks. Located in the same parking lot as Nalus, it offers a variety of flavored toppings for their shaved ice treats. It's a great alternative to Ululanis in Lahaina and is well-loved by the local community. In addition to shave ice, they also serve coffee drinks, snacks, and unique beverages like the Maui-Rita or Frozen Hot Chocolate.
My daughter and I happened upon this shave ice stand after a pedicure and boy were we happy we did! Very generous portions, exciting flavors and with no artificial colors or dyes, but what REALLY set it apart was the amazingly kind and engaging service. A must stop when in Kihei!

Tiny little shaved ice spot in the parking lot, but totally worth the visit. A lot of events happen in this shopping plaza as well so great to walk around with your snack.

A very lovingly made and detailed small shave ice stand in a parking lot. Very child-friendly, with relaxed and friendly service, and a delicious selection of natural flavors and colorings. In the end, everyone was happy.

Cute little family-owned shop with a great vibe and really delicious combos to try. The owner's son served us, was super personable and talkative, and served us and another family after closing time. Great find!

Whoa! This is the place for your shaved ice when you visit Kihei. This was the first place I ever had Hawaiian shaved ice and it's been the favorite of all that we tried on our visit. The shack has an adorable vibe with a peace and love theme in everything from the cups, to the seating area, and the great vibes from the staff while you order your treat. Some of the flavors are even all natural. You'll be glad you made this your choice for shaved ice in Kihei.

We enjoyed the unique flavors including Thai iced tea, lychee, guava, and the kids loved the rainbow shave ice. Super friendly customer service.

This was our favorite shaved ice place in Maui, we got the rainbow one and replaced the blue with blue raspberry. The service was great and super friendly. Don’t pass this shaved ice stand up! 😍🩷

Shave ice in the middle of a parking lot. They have a little shack and it has a small canopy area with some small kids tables and a couple high tops for adults, all painted in bright fun colors and patterns. I loved that they make all their syrups and have a bunch of natural dye free options. We had generous portions and the person working the booth was friendly.

If you're on the hunt for a breakfast experience that tantalizes your taste buds, look no further than Maui Bread Company. This delightful bakery, which opened its doors in 2017 at Dolphin Plaza in Kihei, offers an enticing blend of Eastern and Western flavors. Their menu features savory delights like Portuguese sausage twists alongside sweet treats such as apple turnovers and cinnamon rolls—all freshly baked each day! Maui Bread Company stands out with its unique artisan offerings that showcase Hawaiian, Asian, and German influences.
Fantastic pastry shop in the heart of Kihei… the lilikoi pastry and Pina colada are not to be missed! As a huge fan of almond croissants, I had to try that as well as the cinnamon roll and both were delicious! Their almond paste is creamy and dough was very flaky. We stopped by next door at the cafe for delicious coffee too and then did a little early morning shopping next door.

Loved the chocolate croissants, Hawaiian muffins, macnut coconut cookie and the coffee. Super friendly service from the lady that runs the shop and we enjoyed walking across to the beach to enjoy the view.

We popped in just to check out the selection and I was pleasantly surprised to see a number of items free from gluten and dairy products - this time tried the macadamia/coconut cookie. It was somehow chewy AND a bit like a shortbread cookie all at the same time! Excited to try the macaroons next time!
Eva-Elizabeth C — Google review
I purchased an almond butter croissant, pretzel, and roll with cheese for a nice bread selection. The flavors were pedestrian. For the price, I was expecting something from the old country.
Del C — Google review
We visited late in the day, shortly before closing time. They still had a good amount of product available, though the selection would probably be better early in the day. We enjoyed German pretzels, cinnamon rolls, Hawaiian muffins, and POG bread. We got our items to take back to our condo, but could have taken them down the sidewalk to a common seating/eating area.
Jenn A — Google review
The Pineapple Coconut Muffin was outstanding, one of the best I've ever had. The Biscotti was also great ... The Pretzels looked great but didn't try them. Pina Colada is mostly just Hawaiian type bread with a little topping. The Ham and Pineapple was very similar to the Pina Colada (with ham added). The Macaroons were tasty but very dry and crumbly. Service was bright and friendly.

It features various departments such as a bakery, hot bar, deli, and poke bar. Visitors can find bentos, sushi, spam musubis, pre-made salads, and locally made items. Despite being smaller than other locations, it still provides all the necessary items like poke counters and bakeries offering butter mochi.
Ordered the ahi spicy poke and it was excellent! Fresh fish, just the right amount of heat, and a great balance of flavor. Portion size was generous for the price. Perfect quick meal—I'll definitely be back for more!

Amazing poke for a great price! We had so much poke during our trip, but Foodland was the best! We ended up coming several times!!

Foodland is a known favorite to buy poke (raw, seasoned fish). They have an amazing variety of fresh poke, usually sold by the pound, including classics like Spicy Ahi, Shoyu Ahi, Limu Ahi (with seaweed), and others like Tako (octopus) poke. Freshness: The quality and freshness of the fish are magnificent. the sauces are amazing and the spice gas a good kick to it but if you're a spice enthusiast, we wouldnt consider it spicey but if you find black pepper to be "spicey", then yes, you will find the spicey tuna to be a struggle. This store is very well organized and clean. very easy to find products you need. from kitchenware to bath products, this store is excellent to stock up on home products. if youre shopping here before heading out to your next Maui adventure, this place is great. Overall, a great Foodland location with plenty of parking spaces.

Be careful with the Sinaloa tortillas as they go bad before the expiration date. I bought these on Sunday April 6 and they had mould by Monday April 7 and were supposed to expire by Saturday April 12. Store is small, selections are small and they lack organic items. The one over in Lahaina is much better for healthy options and selection.

Safeway is a well-established supermarket chain offering a wide range of brand-name and own-label groceries, along with deli and bakery services. Visitors can also find hidden gems like 'Maui Cruisers' within the Safeway shopping mall for affordable transportation.
As I was searching for a special bottle of red wine to take to a friend's house for dinner, this lovely lady asked me if I needed help and offered some suggestions. As it turns out, Rosalinda is a Sommelier, a gourmet chef and from Italy. As I described the menu, she recommended a couple of wines within my budget. She was very knowledgeable and explained why these wines were recommended over others. I am so thankful I met Rosalinda and can't wait to go back to Kihei Safeway to let her know how well the wines went with dinner. Mahalo for hiring her!!

Located in the Piikea SC, this is south Maui's largest grocer. It's a modern Safeway with a pharmacy, deli, bakery and Starbucks. Parking is plentiful. POKĒ: Oyster Sauce Ahi Pokē I usually don't like sweet foods, but this was definitely the exception. The fish was super fresh, with a deep jewel-like red color, and was tossed in a bit of oyster sauce giving it a savory and slightly sweet flavor. Yowza!? Other enhancements were green onion and specks of chili. I hope this is available at the two locations nearer to me!

Got groceries, including a delicious block of Gouda cheese, but when we got home it wasn't there. Left in the self checkout. Went back 3 hours later and met Wilma at the door, holding our block of Gouda!! We explained our story and friendly, helpful, knowledgeable Wilma, without hesitation, handed us our Gouda! Excellent customer service! Kudos to Wilma!

I did not go in but my wife did. She came out and wasn't pissed, so I would say it must have been good. Joke aside, The store had some branded snacks from Maui, which was nice. Prices were a little high, but that is typical of island life. Wife said it was well stocked with variety of items.

I think Safeway is the best grocery store in Kihei. They just did a recent remodel and updated the look of the store and it turned out very nice. There is a ton of parking. There is a nice floral section and it is a place to grab a lei if you are in need. Stop by for $5 Friday to find some good deals. It is the place I go in town to look for deals on meat and stock up the freezer when I find a good deal. Stop by the deli and the hot food section and try the salt and vinegar chicken wings!

Visiting Maui four seasons from Napa CA. We stopped here for wine and baby supplies. Rosalinda knows what’s up. We got better wine for $20 from Safeway than we have gotten all week at the four seasons. Rosalinda- move to Cali! 💕

Spent $80 on a very small amount of groceries, and tried to purchase a reusable bag. Scanned it at the self check out, thought it was added, but then was chased down in the parking lot by a screaming employee saying we didn't buy the bag. We tried to explain we thought it scanned, but it didn't, and this employee continued to pester us and tried to shame us even though it was never our intention to take it without paying. We tried to pay but she kept monologuing so we finally just gave her the bag and left. Crazy. Worst customer service experience of my life. Shocked and confused.

How the mighty have fallen! I used to LOVE getting sandwiches here, but now their deli sandwich counter is hot garbage. The employees are unhelpful (if you can find one at all.) They don't know how to properly build the sandwiches or what goes on them. And just like the rest of Safeway, everything is over-priced.

Sarento's On the Beach is a charming open-air restaurant with elegant white tablecloths, offering delectable pasta dishes and a fine selection of wines. The establishment boasts tiki torches and stunning ocean views, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dining experience. Guests have praised the impeccable service and attention to detail, particularly in accommodating dietary restrictions. The menu features a variety of locally sourced ingredients, ensuring an exceptional culinary experience.
Outstanding service, incredible food and unbeatable views. We went here for our 10 year anniversary and were treated like royalty. The food was amazing and featured many local ingredients. Watching the sun set as we dined in paradise was an experience like no other, I would give 6 stars if possible.
Steven C — Google review
Sarento’s has been one of my favorite restaurants for years but tonight, not so good. Valet parking was excellent and very friendly. Hostess was nice, doing her job. Service was very perfunctory, impersonal and just trying to get through it with no mention of the added gratuity for parties of 6 or more. Disappointing at best. The food was good, not great. Sunset was uncomfortable, the sun was too bright to enjoy and even so the screens were lifted which added to the bright discomfort. I ordered a Shrimp Frito Misto appetizer and it came with only one shrimp. Not a clear description. It will be awhile before we think about returning.
Susan M — Google review
We ate here for Valentines Day. The view from our table was beautiful over looking the ocean. We missed the sun set. But if you have a reservation before 6 you will be able to catch it. Valentines Menu was set and was a 3 course meal. The service was impeccable. They really were on point. My daughter has dietary restrictions and once explained they custom made a meal for her which was sugar free, grain free, and dairy free. The made her a nice mahi mahi steak with olive oil, salt and pepper. Served with asparagus. The bread was soft and excellent with olive oil and balsamic. This was the best meal we had so far on our trip to Maui. The food was perfectly cooked and we enjoyed it. The deserts were good as well. They even cut up a pineapple for my daughter. She was super thrilled. They really went out of their way to make this meal perfect for all of us. So I give 5 stars for their service and food. Thank you to all the staff at Sarento’s!!

We had a very large group and the staff there went above and beyond to accommodate us. The food was great and, considering the amount of people, came out fairly quick. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean and the beach. The only inconvenience is the parking lot. There isn't much space for parking and getting in and out can be a challenge. But all that aside it was a great place.

Everything we ordered to eat was absolutely delicious, they were... generous... with the content of drinks. Steven was attending to our table and was a blast interact with, provided lots of great local tips, very timely service, and just a cool dude. Nestled within a Shell station in North Kihei, Havens is a delightful culinary gem that has quickly become a favorite among locals and savvy travelers alike. Founded by Maui's own Chef Zach Sato, this eatery prides itself on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes. The menu features an enticing selection of temaki sushi and smash burgers, with the added bonus of noodles available at their storefront.
This is the best kept secret of the area. The food was so great. The fish sandwich was packed full of layers of flavor and perfectly cooked fish. Noodle dishes were excellent. Great price, too. Quick service, walked up for take out, and had the food ready in under 10 minutes. Absolutely recommend this place.

We wanted a burger tonight and this one looked like the one. So we went. Great little place, off the beaten track but worth the trip. Friendly service and reasonably quick. Excellent value for the money. Now, the burger... Amazing. So glad we came tonight. Burger was a bit messy to eat, the way it should be. Tots and frozen are quite big and easily shared between two people. Would love to come again. Hope we do!

We heard about this place from The Hawaii Vacation Guide blog. Holy smokes! It did not disappoint!! And the prices are some of the lowest we’ve seen on Maui our entire trip! Good portion sizes, too. I ordered easily online (they have pics of most of the menu items) and our order was ready in 20 minutes. The North Shore Shrimp Plate was so good I never wanted it to end. Kids loved the smash burgers! Wish I had taken more pics but if you need affordable delicious takeout food in Kihei, this is your spot!!! The noodles looked amazing—wish I could stay longer and try them!!!
Amiee — Google review
The unchanging food scene in central Maui motivated me to drive to the south side for something new. Havens is Maui's newest eatery, opened by chef Zach Sato, formerly of Merriman's and The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea (the latter being a favorite of mine). ATMOSPHERE: They've taken over the former Suda Store space, sharing the building with the Shell gas station's convenience store. I knew I was in the right place as a five-alarm cloud of burger-grilling smoke punched me in the face as I entered the takeout-only eatery. The place was buzzing, especially due to their short operating hours of 10am - 3pm. MENU: Noodles (saimin, ramen, chow fun), oxtail soup, smash burgers in seven different selections, salad, sushi. FOOD: Deluxe Smash Burger - $9.00 Smash burgers are patties that are literally smashed on the grill to lock in the flavors and moisture, even resulting in an appealing texture. Don't think you're getting a skinny patty as this burger had some major weight to it as I picked it up which was a total surprise to me. The juices from the meat combined with the flavors from the dill pickles, melted American cheese and OG sauce (thousand island-based if I'm not mistaken) was so Haven-ly! Highly recommended! Crinkle Fries - $3.00 Your mainstream, frozen variety. The portion size was big enough for two to share. Tan Tan Ramen - $15.00 Not many places serve this complex broth and Havens hit it outta the park! Thick, creamy, spicy and filling, their version of sesame seed-based broth is very close to the benchmark recipe at Goma Tei Ramen on Oahu. Toppings included pork belly, Chinese broccoli, bamboo, garlic cloves and a "jammy" egg which was more hard-boiled than gooey and the only downfall of the dish. I can't comment on the true texture of the noodles as I had to warm everything up at home. A bit pricey but it's cheaper than flying to Oahu! SERVICE: I was immediately greeted and placed a walk-in order. A short 10-minutes later I had food-in-hand. OVERALL: The drive was totally worth it. Trying the Umami Smash Burger next.

I recently tried the Teppanyaki Style Steak Plate at Havens, featuring a 10 oz Angus New York steak. I asked for the steak to be cooked chef's style, and it was incredibly tender and delicious. The photo I took shows the steak halfway through eating . The vegetables served with it were also great. I first noticed Havens when at the Shell station for a car wash and saw many people ordering food. My decision to come back and try it out was definitely worth it. The meal was enjoyable and felt worth the price. Highly recommend for a satisfying steak meal. Even though it is located at the gas station there is still stool and counter top seating with the ocean visible from a portion. The staff was extremely friendly. Also free refills on soda :-)

Excellent food and service!!! We had the crinkle cut fries, crazy tots, hurricane shrimp, and paniolo smash burgers. Topped off with key lime pie!! We will be back!!
Shawn M — Google review
This is a perfectly good burger place, but don’t go with high expectations. I got the breakfast burger. It was well cooked and the bun was soft. It was pretty greasy. I also got the kolohe fries. I’d get them again if I remembered to order them crispy. They were very soft and it quickly turned into a potato salad. Overall, a great burger considering its located in a convenience store.
Marshall U — Google review
There's an increasing trend of restaurants finding their homes in gas stations (for whatever reasons I don't know). Yet despite these oddities, the food at these places tends to be outstanding. Havens is no different. We got the Paniolo smash burger and the dry noodle. The smash burger was good - it was quite large and the balance of flavours was well constructed. The dry noodle though is mind-blowing. It's hard to put into words exactly why it's so good. Likely it's a culmination of intense wok-hei (that smoky, wok-seared flavour), a garlic chili oil for the stir fry, an abundance of aromatics and impeccable preparation of each ingredient in the stir fry. The egg strips had an ethereal, bouncy texture akin to that of something between an omelette and a flan. It was so good that we got another plate for the road. And the leftovers were almost as amazing 3 hours in. Just keep in mind that they don't have the noodle dishes in their new Kahului location. If you've read this far, do yourself a favour by paying them a visit. I can assure you that you won't regret it. The dry noodle is stellar and this is up there among the best stir fry noodles from any Asian restaurant I've visited in the past.

Came for the fun vibes and the beach. Few places can beat the view. After a tiring 1 hour long bus ride, we reached Kihei. It was definitely worth it. The decor was an explosion of color and vintage objects. So fun. There was something to look at in every corner. Turns out it was Taco Tuesday. Got to try the kalua pig. Best one I’ve tried, even better than the one at a luau. Had no idea the tacos were so loaded they barely closed 🤯. All the vegetables were cut up evenly. The pork pieces were bite sized, tender with texture, and had a roasty savouriness. The complimentary basket of chips and salsa was good. Chips stayed crispy the whole time. Generous amount of sauce in the bowl too. To the folk who say the food is bland, do you not see the condiments on the table? 🧂 🌶️ Salt, pepper, ketchup, hot sauce. Mexican food doesn’t need a complex flavor. That hot sauce has a very sharp bite when it hits the tongue. Watched the sunset on the return bus trip. It was quite serendipitous timing as the bus only comes by once per hour. 🌅 This area, its views, and its shops are worth the visit. Only downer was not getting to meet the vip, Bagheera. So I left something in his honor, so he can continue to exist. 🐈‍⬛ 🤗 Will make it a point to visit Fred’s on my next trip. Can’t wait to try more of the food. 😋

A colorful, rustic, restaurant serving delicious Mexican food. There are penty of guest tables, some with ocean views. The bar/counter is smaller than one might think. The staff is hardworking, attentive and efficient. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Seat yourself at a clean and available table. Menus in silverware are at the front desk. A server will be with you shortly. There are plenty of Mexican food options, enchiladas, tacos, burritos, and more. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available. Their margaritas are particularly good. Restrooms are upstairs. The parking lot is shared with other businesses, including another restaurant. During busier times of the day, particularly during busier seasons, the parking lot can fill quickly. The parking spaces themselves are narrow. Free street parking is available, however you can expect those spots to be rare as beach visitors also park on the street.

This place was recommended by our surf instructor. I'm so glad we checked it out. Ocean views nothing is better than that. They had the Steelers game on so my husband and son were happy about that. Prices were reasonable. Nachos were absolutely delicious a lot of variety of toppings and the beef was seasoned well. The chips and salsa was fresh and delicious as well. I tried the mango Lemonade. They also had happy hour menus so it made it a lot cheaper. Service was on point and attentive. It was a good vibe for sure.

Great experience dining on the patio in the early afternoon mid-week. Is it spicy traditional Tex-Mex? Absolutely not! But that is not what we expected in Hawaii coming from north Texas. We opted for the pork enchiladas, pork tacos, and chicken quesadilla. All were very good. Had a side of guac which was actually a little spicy. Overall a solid meal. Had the Paloma while hubs had a beer. Very good drink. Kiddo had churros and they were very generously sized. Atmosphere on the patio is lovely. Service from Kia was great. We'll definitely return if we're on the island again.

We give 5 stars to our awesome bartender, Brett! We’ve been searching all over the island for a bar and bartender who could and was willing to make us a Dirty Monkey cocktail. This was the first time Brett had received a Dirty Monkey request and he had a smile on his face, googled the ingredients and made us two delicious Dirty Monkey cocktails. Thanks Brett, we had a blast sitting at the bar and drinking our yummy Dirty Monkeys :) We can’t wait to come back and see Brett at Fred’s again!

Moose McGillycuddy's is a busy Lahaina nightclub that attracts locals and tourists alike. The music can be island-style live, or DJ-ed, depending on the time of night. One of the best burgers I've had in the last 10 years was here! Friendly staff, large restaurant with cozy atmosphere - definitely worth a visit when you're in Kihei. Sunset dining at moose's is always an amazing experience!
We came here twice during our one week stay in Kihei. First time was for Tuesday Tacos and I am so glad we tried their tacos! We loved the shrimp, ahi, and kalua pork tacos! Their wings and drinks were good too. We came second time during their happy hour. Again, I liked their drink. The burger was decent.

Ate two meals in one sitting. Loved the good and atmosphere. A little more pricier than other places. The decorations where amusing. The TVs were on sports. Very touristy when I visited everyone was from somewhere else.

A fantastic food estabilshment in Kihei. Great food, awesome and friendly employees. They make you feel right at home. The chips and salsa are delicious. Get the pork plate! The coleslaw is pretty good as well!

Great local restaurant & pub, classic laid back Maui atmosphere with amazing ocean views! Awesome for watching your favorite sports on wall-to-wall TVs in the bar including a big screen TV!... AND they actually play the sound!! We went on a Bingo night (Mondays) super fun, great prizes & drink specials, and they give away "moose bucks" for grand prize round! That's $$ you can use on their food/drinks!! Bartenders and servers rocked the service and food is like "elevated bar fare," definitely hit the spot!

If you are in Kihei and around for a Tuesday this is THE place for tacos. Other evening dinner deals are fantastic as well, but tacos are the grand deal in my opinion. Plenty of TV’s and drink deals to enjoy. A must- go spot while in town!

TACO TUESDAY. AKA “Tacolocious Tuesday”. Tacos $4, $5 or &6 depending on the variety. I had a calamari and a shrimp Taco. They were huge!!! Delicious!!!! And I was extremely hungry after spending the day in the road to Hana. Ordered another calamari. Great environment.

Stopped by to take advantage of happy hour. Their house margaritas were large, strong and on the happy hour menu. They also had a ton of food options on that menu - lots of different appetizers- and the chips and salsa were great to snack on.

We always stop by when we’re on vacation & we are never disappointed. More than enough food options to choose from (chicken Cesar, French dip and mozzarella sticks are my go to).. PLENTY of draft beers to choose from. Kid/family friendly is a huge plus! Ian (night) & Kaha (day) are excellent bar tenders. Service is always on point.

Oh my goodness. From the moment we walked in with the greeting at the door from the hostess to the waitress and then the manager Christine graces us with her beautiful presence. Totally amazing sweet atmosphere. The food oh my, the food was totally amazing from the presentation to the taste. The dessert was off the hook. If you haven't been here. Please go check them out. Been here twice in 4 days. Reasonable prices and good food. My first meal was dinner, I had the macadamia crusted chicken with capers, and mashed potatoes that was delicious! I had breakfast today, two eggs with Portuguese sausage and potatoes with a bloody mary. My drink was a little weak but everything was still good. Nice vibe and view.

My wife and I went here for dinner last night. The staff was friendly. Genevieve was our waitress and she was AWESOME. She was extremely personal, like talking to a friend. On her recommendations, I had the blackened Mai Mai tacos and my wife had the kalua pork tacos.. They were very good. We also fried banana cheesecake. The desert was so awesome and good looking I forgot to take a picture! Sorry about that. Try the Maui Wowie too!

Peggy Sue's Maui is a vibrant and inviting coffeehouse located at 1279 S Kihei Rd, Kihei, HI 96753. I've eaten here three times already... I can honestly say that the burgers and shakes tasted better each time I came... If you're from Maui, then you know... But if you're visiting, Peggy Sue's is a must... Stay safe and blessed everyone... 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾

Ordered the Good Golly Miss Molly burger on a gluten free bun. The gluten free bun had good texture and was not dry. The patty seemed a bit dry. The sandwich overall was mehhh. I’ve had better for a cheaper price elsewhere. Cute atmosphere. I had heard Steven Tyler is a regular customer at Peggy Sue’s, which is half the reason why I visited.
Libbi F — Google review
Peggy Sues is the best restaurant I've ever been to. Everything was perfect, from the old fashion to the food. The burgers are big and delicious, making them hard to finish in one sitting, but that's great because you can take the leftovers home. The fries are superb and honestly, I can't think of a single flaw. My grandparents renewed their wedding vows, and the restaurant gave us a free sundae to celebrate. If I could give a better rating than 5 stars, I absolutely would.
Jose M — Google review
I’ve come to Peggy Sue’s quite a few times over the years. My first impression after not being there in a while was this place looks really rundown. Although, the servers are always polite and welcoming. However, there’s a miscommunication between them and their cooks. I have a specific allergy that I make very clear to them every time I go. Quite a few times I have gotten my food back with the seasoning that I requested not be put on my food due to the fact that it makes me ill. Furthermore, their sign in their door doesn’t match the price at the register which I find a bait and switch. I requested my onions to be grilled, but they tried to charge me $2 more dollars for that. The server gave me the wrong drink, but luckily caught it in time. She didn’t check my food to make sure my allergy was taken care of. Lastly, the quality of the food just wasn’t great. My burger was soggy, my tomatoes were overly ripe, and my fries overly seasoned with garlic. I didn’t even finish my meal.
Angelica D — Google review
I ordered the fish mahi burger / sandwich. They said it was a mahi filet more like a fish stick in the middle of a bun … taste was horrible worse then it looked. Would not recommend my daughter said the hot dog was burnt and nasty didn’t finish it. Sad effort from the chef.
Rick D — Google review
Went there just to get ice cream and very friendly staff gave us multiple samples. Ice cream was really good and the coconut is a must. A good place to go and cool looking retro diner!
Carter P — Google review
I haven’t been to this restaurant in years, it really got rundown and needs major cleaning and renovations. Sad to say it looked quite filthy assuming the 2 people they had on staff doesn’t clean at all. The restaurant was very warm fans blowing hot air the ac wasn’t working properly, not a very pleasant experience nor environment to take your family. The waiter had a strong accent and gave off a creepy vibe he would just stand behind the counter by the register and stare, just watching us as if he’s never seen Kamaaina before lol. My kids were ok with it because they obviously don’t take notice to the interior parts of this establishment. However, after having to ask him for our water to be replenished more condiments etc service to me was below average & for what I mentioned above we won’t be returning. Prices aren’t any better than Cool Cat cafe which is a brand new restaurant in Kihei much cleaner & better service! Also, I still left a tip even though I felt it wasn’t worth leaving.

If you're on the hunt for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, look no further than this charming family-run restaurant that specializes in a variety of traditional dishes. Nestled in the Azeka shopping center in Kihei, it boasts an extensive menu with around 80 options ranging from pho and clay-pot specialties to noodle plates and fried rice. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it perfect for families or casual dining experiences.
Very popular Vietnamese cooking style always see everywhere in American. Good in taste as always. The most commend one is their chicken, slight fired outside. Inside the meat is seasoned so not boring breast.

11/01/16: 3.0 out 5 - Vietnamese Cuisine is catered to the tourists and the majority that makes us much of Maui. So, in my opinion, when it comes to comparing Vietnamese Cuisine to the many others Vietnamese and Asiatic foods, it's decent. The staff / owner are nice and attentive, the restaurant was clean, but there is room for improvement for the food. Looks good and tastes okay. However, don't take my word for it. Definitely suggest trying it once and deciding for yourself.

Ordered a seafood crispy noodle. The presentation is good, food is average. 2 shrimps, 5 cut of calamari (which is 1 whole 6" calamari that u would get from a seafood place. 😅). Total bill $17.67. I know u got to run a business, and it's hard during the pandemic, but come on ...
Le F — Google review
Just don’t. It’s not ran by Vietnamese folks and the food is lacking in so many ways I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s start with the 30 min wait for egg rolls at $12.95 for 4 tasteless, meatless, egg rolls on a bed of....wait for it.....vermicelli noodles. As we sit on a Saturday evening, the place is barely full with 4 tables occupied. There is one server and apparently no one in the kitchen since it has taken 45 min to get our tiny, tasteless bowl of pho. The broth has zero anise aroma.
John H — Google review
I probably shouldn't judge a Vietnamese restaurant by their Pho...but I am. The broth needs a lot more flavor. Tastes like instant beef paste instead of boiling raw ingredients for a few hours. Also, lime wedges instead of lemon would also help. Just an opinion.

Dina's Sandwitch is a charming local spot known for its array of sandwiches and tropical cocktails. The dollar bill-covered walls add to the unique atmosphere. Visitors have praised the friendly staff, with one mentioning how the bartender went above and beyond to provide a great experience. The food, including wraps and pasta salad, has been described as amazing by patrons who appreciated the homey small-town feel of the place. Located near Sugar Beach, it's recommended for a delightful lunch experience while on the island.
This place was so fun! The sandwiches are phenomenal! We had the pleasure of being served by Gretchen and she was probably one of the nicest and sweetest people I’ve ever met! We also got to talk with Jan a little and she was also very nice! Don’t look at the other reviews of this place that are bad, it was amazing!

Quirky is right. Service was great, the owners were off for the weekend and our server has been with them for 16yrs. This is a dark hole in the wall that you can barely find from the street. We had a greeting committee of two regulars at the bar (it’s 5 o’clock somewhere). Customers deface/decorate $1 bills and they wallpaper every flat surface of this place with them. Chachki artwork then is strewn about the walls. Sandwiches were good as was the pasta salad. New England clam chowder was chocked full of clams.

This is a super cool funky Maui TREASURE! The atmosphere is totally chill. You will meet locals and tourists in this unique and fun pub/restaurant. Bring a dollar bill or two to personalize and hang on the wall with the tens of thousands of others that have visited over the last ~40+ years. The menu is simple and very good. Sandwiches are fresh, delicious, and big enough for the hearty appetite. There is a full bar here too that can serve local beers and crafty cocktails to enhance your meal. Dina's also offers some great hotdog recipes and everything on the menu can be ordered for either dine in or take-away. Located on the shore of Sugar Beach it is a convenient stop to grab a lunch to go or dine in for some cheerful service. Open daily from 11am to 10pm which also makes it a great place to grab an evening cocktail with friends after the beach or day of adventures. Plenty of allowed parking available at Sugar Beach Resort. Highly recommended if you are looking for a low key relaxing and fun place. 👍

Well I'm a Mexican Mexican and iv been to alot of authentic Mexican restaurants and this one is not authentic it's more Americanized the chimicanga was just a chincanga nothing special about it as far as the carne asada it's was a thinner streak that you need a knife to cut it not an original thin carne asada that you can cut with your hands if they used a meat slicer then they would be able to say it is carne asada I posted a picture of how a real authentic carne asada should be.

Amigo's is my fave Mexican restaurant on the rock. They have two other locations in Kahului and Napili. ATMOSPHERE: Intimate space in Azeka Marketplace. High ceilings, lots of windows, good-sized bar area. FOOD: Ground Beef Burrito My go-to. I axe the rice and pico for a simpler flavor profile. Ground Beef Nachos THE best nachos on the rock. Heavy on the toppings too. SERVICE: Hit or miss. OVERALL: The "place with the best Mexican food" debate in America is a personal choice. I've had the authentic stuff in Puerto Vallarta and Amigo's is right up there with them, IMO.

While the food was ok, it definitely was not authentic Mexican food as they claim. It was also pricey for the portions. Our server Luis G was nice and attentive but he made a mistake on both my and my friend's meals charging us an extra $3.50 a piece for a wet salsa we never had. It took us waiting another 20-30 minutes to have his manager approve not overcharging us. Such a backwards system and way to punish the customer who just wants to pay for their meal and carry on with their vacation. Will not be back or recommending

We've eaten the pizza from these folks at Wailuku First Friday as well as some events at the MACC. FOOD: Lilikoi Pork Garlic Pizza Flavor was alright, though I couldn't detect the lilikoi flavor, which might be a good thing? The crust is soft and chewy. Pepperoni Cheese Pizza This was delish! I liked it better than the Lilikoi version. I'm more into mainstream toppings. SERVICE: They're always friendly at the Friday event. The wait for food can be a bit long due to them serving fresh pies, but they even went out on a limb to write down a friend's cell number and called her when her order was ready. OVERALL: Really good pizza, a bit pricey but super fresh.

Good vibes and good food at a reasonable price! Came here for a late lunch on a Wednesday. We were surprised by the quality of the food given the low price. There's outdoor seating, a pool table, big bar, stage, and the tables are spread out and not crammed. FOOD: I didn't see a menu but they do serve food. And the infamous popcorn machine seems to have a theme in this alcohol-driven section of Kihei. BEVERAGE: The beers were priced below average for domestic drafts. SERVICE: The bartenders were friendly and table clean up was fast. ENTERTAINMENT: They had a live band when we were here but not sure if it's nightly. OVERALL: Nice place to relax in cool comfort with cheap beer and free live bands.

Where do I begin? My group of friends were in Maui for four days and two of those nights we ended up at Lifes a beach. We could not get enough of the karaoke and we were welcomed with open arms even when we may not have had the talent. Kristen was an amazing karaoke host who made the party that much more fun. She had friends like Laura, who added to the fun, warm environment. The drinks were unexpectedly affordable. The bathroom were clean. The bartenders were kind and quick. But most importantly, the vibes and the people in the bar were elite. If you’re looking to have a fun time in Kihei, do not miss out on life’s a beach!!!

The Dog & Duck is a sports bar that offers traditional Irish food and sandwiches while showing nonstop European football games on TV. It's a popular spot for hearty breakfasts on weekends, with a menu that gives mornings a boost. The place has good vibes and live music, making it an enjoyable local hangout. Visitors have praised the tasty pub grub and excellent pints served at this Irish-flavored establishment. Additionally, the bar hosts trivia nights and karaoke events for added entertainment.
The Dog and Duck Irish Pub is the definition of a classic hole-in-the-wall with tons of character! We had the pleasure of meeting Mick, the owner, which made the experience even better. Sure, it’s a little dicey, but that’s part of its charm. The bartenders are amazing—attentive, friendly, and they make sure you’re taken care of. The drinks are strong, perfectly mixed, and you can’t beat the prices. This place is proof that sometimes the best nights happen in the most unexpected spots. If you’re looking for a no-frills, fun time with great drinks and even better company, the Dog and Duck won’t disappoint. Can’t wait to come back!

We came here for drinks but stayed for the chill island vibe. The triangle is a great place in general and this place was just the right spot to end a long and exciting day.

Stopped in the Dog and Duck while on a pub crawl in Kihei. Had a great time and good drinks. Met some good people sitting at the bar. Told them I was a Liverpool FC fan and they let me get a picture with a replica of a trophy Liverpool had just won. Will definitely stop in again when back in Kihei.

Good vibes and music. When i got there or was live band with good blues music. Felt like a busy local place which i like. I had a great cider on tap. The down side was the food. People said the food was good. As a vegetarian i had the broccoli soup which was nice... Not so great but not bad. Overall thumbs up!

Excited they’re now open for breakfast, and theirs is really good! If you’re a fan of cheap mimosas, they are $3 for breakfast and during games. I had one and switched to beer 🤣. But seriously, great staff, good food, and an all around great place.

Great little dive bar! Pretty standard fare but the music was great and the pours were long!
