Fun place to hang out with a lot of activities. A bar A big ground where a wedding was taking place. Clean rest rooms loungers Clean beach and a lot of people enjoying voters in serenity. Also a deer happened to come and became another attraction. Will reach it late and still enjoyed all the facilities at this magnificent club. A great place to be in Vince, you're never on. It's a little ahead of the tuna club. Number hundred, and both the walk on.This island for the scenic beauty.

Fake euro summer. This beach club rivals some of the beach clubs I’ve been to in the French Riviera. The service is awesome and friendly, the chaises are pretty big and the water is beautiful. They even have the rocky beaches like in Europe 😂 the public beach gets packed so it’s nice to have your own space and the option of shade under your own umbrella. The chairs are pretty well spaced out as well. The one difference between this beach club and European ones is the obnoxious music the DJ plays when she comes out at 1pm. Somehow he fits 3 songs into 1 min. I would choose any random wedding DJ over this guy. If you get to the beach club when they open at 10am, you’ll have a few hours of serenity and very few beachgoers. Oh the food and drinks are good too and very reasonably priced. Just go! It’s worth it

Such a nice place to stop and eat on the island. Good service, good food. Is near the water and I'm thinking you can rent chairs and eat on the beach if you want. Not sure so don't quote me on that. I ordered the Peruvian Ceviche, delicious!! I highly recommend it. It has a little kick so if you can't eat spicy, don't order this. The sword dish sandwich was also tasty. Never had sword fish. It was good. I highly recommend to come and enjoy the food and view at Descanso Beach Club.

My favorite part of my trip to Catalina, absolutely. Beach Clubs like this one offer unparalleled convenience and relaxation. These are getting hard to find, especially in the United States. Everything was excellent, including the food and services. Drinks were delicious although a little on the weak side.

Had a great birthday day trip to Avalon-Catalina Island, Descanso Beach Club is a must visit- a cozy small beach that you can do swimming, Kayaking, snorkeling, or just relaxing in a tropical setting. Bring your own beach chairs or rent a cabana. Good choices on drinks, foods. Clean restrooms and onsite showers.

Legitimately some of the worst food on Catalina Island. For the price, I would expect the lettuce that was provided for me to assemble my own chicken wraps would be washed. Chicken was borderline inedible, tasted like dog food. Wings were frozen and tasted like cardboard. Told them my boyfriend was severely allergic to nuts and they served him the walnut dressing anyways. 0/10.

My wife and I had an awesome time at the club. It was my first time on the island. Our first day, she booked us a couple of beach chairs at the club. The service from Mitchel was top notch. He really made the experience elevated. Super friendly and professional. Our drinks never sat empty and he was always checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Day two was in a Cabana and again, had the great pleasure of having Mitchel. Great drinks, great service and great conversations. Couldn’t have been happier with our service. We will be returning to the club this summer because of the great experience we had with Mitchel and the entire staff.

Stopped in for breakfast during our three day weekend and even though the wait was extremely long to sit down and to be served, the food was pretty good. This place can get very popular depending on the time and day so be prepared to wait a bit. Inside was very crowded so we had to sit at the bar, but we were just a party of two so we didn’t have to wait as long as some of the larger groups. Inside is quite large, they have many different sized tables, but no outdoor seating. Our server was very polite, but it took at least 15 minutes for her to come over for the first time and take our drink/food order and all of our food items came out very slowly. When they did come, some of the items were missing, but the taste quality was there. For my first visit, I ordered the Crabcake Benedict with avocado, and they forgot the avocado when it first arrived as well as some other items from other members in our party. That being said, the crabcake was actually very good and this Benedict was the best of the three that I had on the island during my visit. Pricing is pretty fair and the menu does have a lot of good options. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area and would give it another try in the future next time I visit the island.

The host sat us in the very far left corner where it was very very cramped and the sun was beating down. There was many available tables but I don’t like how we were sat in the worst spot in when it was not busy. We saw other parties of 2 who were sat at bigger tables and with shade not in direct sunlight. However we asked a server and we moved to the bar instead. Katie and Angel were very nice and the food was delicious. The drinks were also amazing. The food did take long to come out but it was worth it. Overall the experience was fine but the host who sat us gave us a bad vibe.

A great place to catch some good seafood. Their ambience is great and their service is amicable. We got lobster roll, fish tacos, and clam chowder. The clam chowder was creamy and flavorful. The fish tacos was fresh and juicy and the lobster roll was fresh and juicy. It was hot lobster roll with sourdough with coleslaw. The coleslaw was also fresh and crunchy. The meat was soft and tender. Overall had a great time here.

From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. The staff was warm, attentive, and professional, ensuring every detail was taken care of. Alexander went above and beyond saving the day with his rapid charge phone charger . I was able to charge my phone and make it back to Palm Springs that night . 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is a MUST stop if you visit Catalina! I have had blackened fish a lot in my life and The Lobster Traps blackened fish is the best! All their food is amazing, the atmosphere is fun, and the bathrooms are clean! Great job guys!

The food was amazing!! I had the macadamia nut crusted swordfish and my mom got the lobster. Everything was delicious!! We were joking as to why you even put veggies on the plate because there's so much other food options to eat! The service was very quick and kind!

Worst Calamari’s I've EVER had they are square flat and hard almost no calamari inside mostly breading. I don’t have a pic but I travel all over the world. The food is ok at best but the prices are ridiculous $96 for two people no drinks only water.

The ambiance, the atmosphere, and food. They all tie in together to contribute to the cohesiveness of the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised with the popcorn while you wait. The grilled Octopus is a must try, succulent, juicy, and flavorful. Although I wish they had a bone in steak the food was on point.

Visiting Avalon for an extended weekend for my birthday so we decided to give Avalon Grille a try for dinner and had a very nice experience. They don’t take reservations, like most restaurants on Catalina, but there was no wait when we arrived at 5:30 and were able to be seated right away. All the staff that we encountered, including our server, were very polite and everything that we ordered came out pretty fast. You can tell the inside has been recently remodeled, and there is a large oval bar in the middle of the restaurant with TVs around it so this would be really nice place to have dinner and/or drinks. As a few reviews mentioned, it is a bit pricey, but not overly so. It’s less than you would spend at a lot of restaurants in West LA so I feel that it is fair, especially given it’s proximity to the water. They have a lot of great dishes on the menu so it took a minute to decide what I wanted to order. For my meal, I decided to start with the Watermelon Feta Salad and really enjoyed it. It was a good size portion and would be easy to split between two people, but it’s also the perfect amount for one person if you’re hungry. For my entrée, I chose the Whole Branzino and really liked it. I get Branzino often so I’ve tried it all over California, and beyond, and I can say that this is a good version. It did have quite a few bones in it, but that’s what you get when you do a Whole Branzino. The side succotash was really nice and overall it was very good. Given the limited options in Avalon, I would say this is one of the best places to grab dinner and certainly has an amazing location. I would recommend and would try it again next time I’m on the island.

The food was incredible! The service was excellent, with a great atmosphere all around. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the staff’s recommendations were spot on. The drinks were simply amazing! Highly recommended.

We couldn’t find any place open to eat the first night we arrived at Catalina, so we were thrilled when Avalon Grille was open! Then we just continued to be delighted - Jimmy was our server and was amazing ! He recommended the gnocchi and it was chuck full of healthy vegetables and the noodles were made from scratch and were so fresh and delicious ! He also recommended the Sunny day which was a light and fresh summery sparkling drink that I absolutely loved ! The kitchen had made a wrong drink for someone so he graciously gave that to my husband as well! We loved the desserts Jimmy recommended as well ! He also had some fun drone tips to tell my husband about and was great to talk to! We highly recommend Jimmy and Avalon Grille :)

We stopped into the Avalon Grill as another restaurant had a 45 minute wait and we just didn't want to wait that long. I am glad that happened because we all enjoyed the lovely atmosphere, impeccable service, and the delicious entrees that were available. It was also very interesting to get habinaro seasoned popcorn while we waited for our main courses. Pro tip: they do not take reservations so get there a tad bit early for your evening meal. Overall great experience and loved feeling the fresh ocean breeze flowing through the restaurant.

This was the best restaurant that we found in Avalon! The happy hour is fantastic and the food and drinks were delicious. It was interesting that nobody mentioned it when we asked for recommendations, but we were so happy to find it.

Great restaurant located right on the main walkway. The food was delicious, service was top notch, atmosphere was great. We actually enjoyed the branzino even more than the steak!

Visiting Catalina for a three day weekend and of all three dinners that we had while on the island this was our favorite. It’s right across from Avalon Bay so you can dine staring at the water, which is a lovely option. If possible try to sit at one of the tables by the windows which have the best views. It’s located up on the second floor so you have good views of the entire bay. Inside is quite large and they have many different seating options available for many different size parties. Our server Juan was very polite and everything that we ordered arrived very fast. For our dinner, we ordered the Artichokes and the Wedge Salad to start, which were both nice and a good sized portion. I wish the Wedge would have bacon with it as that is the standard version but still this one was very tasty and a good start to the meal. For our dinner, we chose the Shrimp & Chips which was very good and had very large, plump shrimp. For myself, I chose the special of the day, which was the Barramundi cooked in a lemon caper sauce and honestly really loved it. It had some great flavors and it was very tender and cooked perfectly. I got a baked potato on the side, which was quite small, but still had nice flavors. Overall, we had a great dining experience and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the island and I would certainly dine here again next time I visit Catalina.

My friend and I went there for dinner. Service was superb. We ordered shrimp and scallops dishes. They tasted very good but not super good. The best feature of this place is the amazing view! Overall it’s a very nice place to have a relaxing dinner.

This place was TOP TIER! From the service down to the food was exceptional. Our server Johnny was nothing short of amazing! Everything he recommended was perfect 👌🏽 this is a MUST TRY if you’re on the island!!!!! Go check them out and tell Johnny “Nika” sent you ;)

We had a great experience celebrating a birthday. The food was delicious ,we ordered the tomahawk steak for dinner and it did not disappoint. Our server was friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for a good steak on the island, I would definitely recommend this spot. The atmosphere was a bit laid back, not super fancy or upscale, which I was originally hoping for, but it seems like that’s just the vibe of the island overall. Either way, Steve’s Steakhouse delivered exactly what we needed for a memorable night

We had the Duck Cigars and the Ponzu Scallops for appetizers, both of which were amazing, sadly I forgot to take pictures. For dinner, I had the Scallops Avalon and my husband had the Sea Bass which was a special. Spectacular is the only word.

Atmosphere was a little tight, but pretty. It was a packed Saturday night. Food was ok. Steak was great but I don’t recommend the dessert.

We were lucky enough to get a table overlooking the street! It was so beautiful and a great end to a perfect birthday weekend for me! The food was AMAZING! I wish they used real lemon juice in their lemon drop martinis, but it was still very tasty! Joey our server was very nice and efficient! The food was PIPING hot when it came out and the crème brule was excellent! Wonderful meal!

A solid breakfast diner in the heart of Avalon. Stopped in for my first time this morning and overall we had a nice breakfast. It’s not quite as good as a lot of spots on the mainland, but given its location I feel they did a good job. It was quite busy on a Thursday morning, so I’m sure it can get even crazier on weekends. They have a very large menu filled with all sorts of classic dishes so choosing some thing was a bit of a challenge given how many options there were. Our server was polite, although we just saw him at the very beginning of our meal and not again. Our dishes arrived actually pretty slowly, but given that I’m sure the kitchen is smaller than a lot of mainland kitchens I won’t fault them too much for that. Pricing is also pretty fair given that it’s island food and feel it would be a good stop if you’re in the area and looking for breakfast. For my breakfast I chose the Dungeness Crab Eggs, Benedict and thought it was pretty good. The sauce was more watery than I prefer, and the Dungeness Crab was very chopped, almost like burger meat, so I wish it would’ve been more in chunk form like you see in a Dungeness Crab Cocktail. Also the hashbrowns could have been a bit crispy but overall not a bad meal. They do have Kona Coffee so the coffee was very strong and tasty, which may have been my favorite part of the meal. I would suggest if you are in Avalon and looking for a nice place to have breakfast.

Visited on a Wednesday morning with a group of 10 - seated 1 group indoor and outdoor. Restaurant was quite busy - service was a little slow and a few things forgotten/had to remind and ask to bring out. -Fries -Vanilla Milkshake (asked for it/wasn't om the menu) -Pancakes -Kids Benedict Everything was pretty good. Would recommend for a casual breakfast or lunch.

We arrived for brunch around 9:30am on a Saturday and the place was packed. Luckily, they were able to seat us quickly. I ordered the Catalina veggie omelette, which came with hollandaise sauce, pancakes, and fresh fruit, my friend ordered the Belgian waffle with strawberries, and my other friend ordered orange juice and chicken fried steak, which came with hashbrowns and biscuits and gravy. Service was very quick and the food came out fast. While not the best food I've ever had, it helped fuel us for the rest of our day kayaking and touring the island.

We visited here for dinner though. It's very popular breakfast place. We were very happy to be escorted to a nice table. Esmeralda took the orders and helped guide us through the availability of Italian dishes. I took the salad and the minestron soup. They were excellent. Noodles with meatballs and well cooked. Rub yeoli dish with spinach. Everything tasted, yummy drinks were available. We went in for simple Coke and water. The service was very good and being a birthday. They gave a complimentary tiramisu, which was icing on the cake. Excellent place. We enjoyed all the hospitality and great service. Very reasonable prices and made evelyn, even more memorable

Breakfast was busy but they managed to get the food out pretty quickly. Whatever they order the food on, I guess sends it straight to the kitchen so it didn't take long. Drinks were great. Food was even better.

Great food! Small space, definitely felt a family vibe there. This place is felt unreal, just 50 feet away you got the beach and other shops. I will definitely come back!

We sat outdoor seats and they are nice and decent spot to have breakfast. We both got chicken and waffles, you will get nice and crispy 4 chicken wings and a soggy waffle. I assumed it’s premade. Not crispy at all and kinda cold. Maple syrup was pretty runny wand watery..? The staffs were nice.

Stopped in twice during our stay on Catalina - breakfast both times. Very cute little place, friendly service, and fairly quick on serving. Outdoor seating. -White Chocolate Mocha Frozen Drink -Blackberry Coffee -Breakfast Burrito with Vegan Sausage + Salsa Verde on the side -Bagel with Turkey Sausage -Jalapeno pretzel Everything was delicious and prices decent for area. Would highly recommend for your morning/lunch casual meal or drink.

A great place to catch up for coffee and breakfast. Firstly the line was long and wait was a bit tedious. It’s better to go for online order and pickup but I felt a few dishes were not available online. The wait was worth it. I got white mocha which was must try. We also got to build our own burrito, avocado toast and almond croissant. The coffee was fresh and soothing. The croissant had a flaky crust and a soft and spongy inside with Almond filling which was not too sweet. The avocado toast was amazing, with sour dough. The burrito was also great. Overall it was an amazing breakfast.

Great coffee and breakfast options! I found this place had better ratings than other places, and it had delicious looking options for our early morning arrival on Catalina island. There are options for online ordering, which I recommend if it’s busy, or you can order at the counter. The staff is so friendly! They have cute merchandise too. We added the fire roasted corn medley to our egg sandwich - it was great! I highly recommend, and I’ll be back for more great breakfast next time I visit Catalina Island.

Traveling from Carnival Cruises with one day in Catalina Island. Looking for a cozy atmosphere with music and cold coffee drinks. This fit our search. Nice, friendly staff with lots of seating outside and a 2 piece band singing our jams. Loving it 😊

We hit this up on our food tour and the cookie, and the dark chocolate pistachio was really good. The strawberry hibiscus tea was also really flavorful and not too sweet. You could taste that. It was actually fresh and they make their own syrups.

Catalina Coffee & Cookie Co. is such a great little spot. The coffee was really good and the cookies and pastries were super tasty. It has a chill vibe and feels like the perfect place to hang out for a bit. The staff was really nice and made us feel welcome. Everything we had tasted fresh. Definitely a 5-star spot and I’d come back every time I’m in Catalina.

Great little spot to grab some coffee and a breakfast sandwich only place that we found open early on the island. The breakfast sandwiches were very delicious. The cibatta sandwich is big enough for two people .

We came here for dinner on our first night in Catalina, and it was good choice. Everyone liked their meals and the fries were the best ones we had on the island. My sea bass was meh, lacked in flavor, but everything else was very good! We got: Crispy Calamari Gold Spotted Sea Bass, Pacific New York Strip Angus Cheeseburger Grilled Chicken Chopped Salad Spicy Margaritas

Such a beautiful location! The sound of the waves, the smell of the ocean, an amazing view!🥰 it was my birthday and we mentioned it at the entrance and ask for a table by the water- and we got one. The service was friendly, but while we were having lunch, the waiters came up about 15 times, asking if they could clear the plates (even though there was still food on them) and if we needed anything else.. it was a bit intrusive. The lobster roll was a bit dry:( They didn’t offer a birthday treat, but that’s ok, not many restaurants go above and beyond for their guests like that.

We ordered the halibut and the sea bass during our visit to Catalina. The food was just about average, what you are really paying for is the beautiful ocean view and the calming sound of the waves. The atmosphere is relaxing and perfectly captures the charm of Catalina, but the food itself did not stand out. The plating for both dishes was appealing and well presented. The sea bass was described as sweet, but I found the sweetness to be quite subtle. I would suggest making the cream sauce thicker, since the watery texture made it difficult to enjoy the intended flavor. If a sauce like that is served, including a spoon would help guests taste it properly. The halibut was breaded, but the flavor reminded me of lake water, which did not appeal to me. Overall, the experience was not spectacular for my taste, though the setting on Catalina Island made it worth trying at least once. I still encourage others to visit and form their own opinion.

View was great and the food was even better. You sit on the shore the sound of water waves makes it so peaceful and romantic. They’re usually pretty busy through out the day. No reservation! But believe me the wait is worth!!!

The atmosphere can not be beat at this place on the island compared to the other restaurants. We got a seat right next to the water so you could hear the crashing waves. The bread was amazing! I got the lobster roll which was good but not the best I have ever had. My husband got the raw oysters which he loved and the Seafood Paella Valenciana which was good but had a very strong wine flavor that overpowered the dish a little. The service was good and fast! We came on off season (October) so there was no wait but I would imagine on peak season there would be quite the wait.

Bluewater Grill is a great spot with awesome views of the water. The seafood was fresh and well cooked and the portions were a good size. The service was really good too, everyone was friendly and attentive. Prices are a little on the higher side but that’s to be expected on the island. The atmosphere made it worth it, especially if you sit outside by the water.

Bluewater Avalon Restaurant is truly amazing. They greeted you with a warm sourdough bread with a huge dollop of butter. The fried fish is a delicious white fish in a crispy fried batter. The French fries are golden crispy with a soft center. The clamp chowder is silky and full of clams and potatoes. YUMMY! Jesus, our server, is amazing. He's very attentive, knowledgeable, friendly,and most of all caring. I HIGHLY recommend The Bluewater Avalon when you're in Catalina Island. They have the best view of the ocean. Just watch out for the bees.

After reading through other reviews I thought the staff was very friendly and kind. They walked us through the menu and they were polite and kind. So maybe it's certain individuals? 🤔 I thought this place was cheaper and had better food than the other restaurants. We did a lot of scouting and even though there was limited seating it was with it. The claim chowder was awesome and was hot and full of flavor. It was a good size portion. My wife loved the fish and chips and she wanted to take home their tarter Sauce! 🤣 My brother got the onion rings, but even though they were good he wished he had gotten the fish and chips! I liked their fries but they were soft. I prefer crunchy fries but I found them comparable to mc Donald's fries. My wife loves the soft fries but I'll let you decide! Overall I would recommend this place, good good, good service. Something to work on; prices and seating availability.

I'll start by saying it was my very first time visiting the beautiful Catalina island, and I had a blast there. My family and I wanted a quick bite, so we decided to eat here at Ericks on the pier. I know inflation has kicked in hard, but man, $78 bucks for 2 plain burgers for the kids, a sope plate for the wife, and fish-n-chips for myself was just crazy. however, I gave it the benefit of the doubt due to a good smell coming from the place, but the food was not that great, honestly the fish and chips were good but im the type of person that loves seasoning and that was not there. My wife said the sopes were not amazing, but they were decent. And my kids said their burgers were okay. We all agreed that the chips or fries, whatever you may call them, were way too soggy and not seasoned what so ever. Prices didn't match from online to the actual menu, so that needs to be updated for sure. Im not saying that the food was nasty at all it just didn't meet my standards and wasn't worth the money respectfully.

We’ve been coming to Catalina for vacation on our sailboat for 25 years and we rarely miss Eric’s. My son and I always get the buffalo burger. Slightly gamey and very simple. We like it and you can wash it down with a cold beer. Is it a gourmet burger? No. Will it be the best burger you’ve ever eaten? Unlikely. But the location on the pier is convenient and you can’t ask for a better view. It’s expensive, but it isn’t fast food in a strip mall. Catalina is a small island tourist destination where all the food for the island comes over by sea. Everything on the island is expensive. In my experience, if a reviewer thinks the food is overpriced that tends to color their whole experience. I can’t tell you if the onion rings are frozen or not, but they’re good. I don’t like thick battered onion rings or greasy soggy ones and I’ve never gotten a bad order. My wife gets the tacos and she wouldn’t say they are the best, but she enjoys them. We like Eric’s for its amazing location, simplicity and the vibe! Did I mention the cold beer?!

Came to the island for the day with friends. Didn’t want to wait in a restaurant just wanted a quick bite and then off on our adventure. Didn’t expect anything amazing here, just good food and service. The lady taking our orders told us “no”with attitude, asked to sun onion rings for fries no , extra plate no, knife to cut or burger no. All our burgers were drowning in mustard, had to wipe it off. Fish and fries— no chips! Fish was cooked well and tasty. They say your # good luck hearing it… pier is full of people and seats are not very comfortable. Hard wood bar stools. Kids screaming. Very loud. Not a lot of room to eat.

If you love micheladas get one here! It’s authentic Mexican taste they make it to the order not premade mix. 10/10 Michi, we only had fries for food but they were good :) and the spot has good views. Will be coming back here only for beers!

I ate buffalo burger. I’ve never eatten buffalo meat. So I want to try this one. I worried about this flavor and smell But taste and texture is literally same as beef Hamburger bun is quite crispy

Arrival: 12:30pm on a Sunday Wait time: basically none Service was decent. Food came out pretty fast. Bottled water for sale only, so bring your own water. Poke bowl with salmon. Half rice, half lettuce Rice was very hard. Not fully cooked. Salmon was minimally seasoned, but tasted pretty fresh. I added soy sauce and the rice ended up too salty. The masago, avocado, seaweed salad, and edamame were good. Spicy tuna burger It was good. Has a decent kick (coming from someone who had a spice tolerance). Fries were very salty. Shoe string. Very crunchy. Garlic bread was good.

The sign said they close at 8:30 PM. We arrived at 7:45 PM and placed our order immediately. We ordered the kids’ salmon with the sauce on the side, but it still came with the sauce on it. We ordered sushi rolls, and they came out with no ginger or wasabi—we had to ask for it separately. The Mexican server looked visibly unhappy and even threw a tantrum. By 8:35 PM, the bearded server started stacking chairs loudly, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Please check your cameras, owner. I asked for the bill because the vibe was already so negative, and then I found out they automatically charged us a 20% gratuity. Tips should be earned through good service. Honestly, they’re the only place selling sushi on this island, so if you’re not desperately craving sushi, you’re better off going somewhere else. Their sushi is not bad, but the service is horrible.

I did a pickup order and it was quick to come out. The person on the phone was nice and answered all my questions, but that’s the only positive point. Hence a 2 star. The rice was so hard in my nigiri it would get stuck in my teeth, I couldn’t stomach eating it. My husband had a difficult time with his poke bowl too and had to throw it away. Just not good, unfortunately. The fish was mediocre at best. I had high hopes, what a waste of $60.

NDMC Fish House .... A hole in the wall restaurant on Catalina Island that carries a huge stick. I was out here celebrating a friends birthday. After a day of walking around the island it was time to eat. All we saw on the sign outside was "Sushi". We were before the lunch crowd and were immediately sat at a booth. The ambiance and vibe was that of my favorite Sushi house in Kihei, Maui. Kenneth was out waiter... Cool vibe emoting from him. After reading the previous reviews. Do you like fish? Do you have taste buds? We started with awesome sashimi. Then we went to a fish collar that reminded me of the best "end of a fishing day" grill up. And then it was time for the Catalina Cioppino. This soup will not be found anywhere else in Southern California. There may be similar takes; there may be others with the name; but this, this was divine.

We had the tuna poke bowl and ceviche. Both were delicious and the ceviche was the best we had on the island. We'll definitely eat here when we visit Catalina Island again.

I saw this place in a YouTube video. We didn’t realize it opened after 11 a.m., but luckily we made it just in time for a late lunch or early dinner , and it was worth the wait! The food was fantastic, the vibe was cozy and relaxed, and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. Although it’s a small spot, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It’s a Mexican and seafood restaurant, and we tried the chicken nachos , the chicken was packed with flavor. We also had the calamari with fries, which was fresh and perfectly cooked. The creamy white dipping sauce they served on the side was so delicious we asked for more! We also sampled a few cocktails, and the staff was super flexible. I initially ordered a Bahama Mama but didn’t enjoy it, so they kindly let me switch to the local specialty, Buffalo Milk , and it was amazing. Located right across from the ferry terminal, this place is the perfect final stop before heading back home with good memories and a full stomach. Highly recommended!

We were not disappointed for waiting 30 minutes for a table at all. It was well worth the wait!!! The ambiance in the restaurant is so Vibrant! They have the best music playing. Fish and Chips is a great option! If you order a certain drink.You get a straw hat for free.

We had dinner at Luau Larry’s and we must admit: service was great, drinks were amazing. We ordered a Clam Chowder and it was loaded with potatoes, so many that there was no soup at all. we also ordered a mixed platter and it was ok. Food was nothing extraordinary. Music and location were awesome. It’s a great spot t stop for drinks.

Bright and colorful with a laid-back, beachy vibe — tiki style. It’s a great spot to grab casual drinks with friends and soak in its unique character. The drinks are definitely the highlight — strong, creative, and really well made. The whole place just felt really good — the kind of spot where the drinks hit right and the vibe makes you want to stay a little longer.

We had such a great experience at Buffalo Nickel on Catalina Island! The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, and our server, Ricardo, was fantastic - friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I ordered the Mexican pizza, and it was absolutely delicious… fresh, flavorful, and perfectly satisfying. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area, and ask for Ricardo, he’ll take great care of you!

Perfect day on the island. BN was recommended by the bike rental lady. Fantastic ceviche. Mexican shrimp cocktail with octopus is amazing. Good beer selection. Free shuttle back to the ferry, too!

ETA: A tour guide reported that they have a shuttle that will pick you up in Avalon for free! We loved our walk, but for those who can’t do it, just call them! A 30 minute walk from Avalon is so worth it. The ceviche is magical and the service was excellent. We even got to watch a helicopter take off. Seriously, though, GET THE CEVICHE. The potato tacos were also very tasty!

My visit to Buffalo Nickel was fantastic. The place has great views, making it perfect for a relaxing meal. The selection of food and drink was impressive, and they even offer a free shuttle to pick you up. We tried the ceviche, which was amazing, and the tacos were delicious too. The atmosphere and service were excellent. Highly recommend checking it out!

We stopped in on our last night in Catalina. Wished we had come here sooner. Orders potato skins and chicken fajitas. Both items were huge and probably could feed 3 people each. Could not take home leftovers since we were leaving the next morning. Please stop in and sit in the patio! Great food!

We loved this Cafe! We ate here for Breakfast and Lunch every day we were in Catalina because it was perfect, quick service and delicious clean meals. I got the Chicken Bacon Avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries and it was delicious Definitely would recommend!

Stayed on the island for several days and this was our favorite spot for a quick bite! Everything was so fresh and had so many healthy options! We had the BL+A with sweet potato fries, tuna sandwich, Mediterranean salad, and the raspberry tropics smoothie. Everything was amazing! One of the best tuna sandwiches I’ve ever had! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was always quick and hot!

I appreciate the smoothies and fresh juices. I have tried the green machine and the raspberry one. Both solid taste. It's one of a few places, where you can get a nice smoothie, so highly appreciated!

I had a delicious bacon Metropole burrito (breakfast) and it was generous portion. For coffee, they only have hot black coffee (real coffee) but you can add cream and sugar if you want. Their prices are compatible with the rest of the island. I definitely will eat there again!

Had to wait very long multiple times to get my food, even on non busy days. Food is expensive especially considering the small portions, but the quality of the food seems to be good. No wifi and few places to sit inside.

We were looking for a local restaurant which served pressed juices, smoothies and sandwiches! The locals go here as they know delish food! I had the tuna sandwich and the cold pressed green juice and it made me so happy that I located this restaurant on Google based on great reviews. I am another one giving a 5 STAR to this little impressive take out restaurant! You order, pay, your food is brought out to you as you sit around tables in the small patio next door! Very charming!

Yum! We stopped for lunch at Harbor Reef while we were visiting Catalina. We were actually the first people to get the lunch menu (which starts at 10:30) and it was great. We got their burger, their hot dog with bell peppers and bacon, and their nachos. All 3 were delicious and fresh. The nachos were generously topped, which I appreciated because dry nachos suck :( The seating outside was beautiful and gives you a good view of the palms and sand. Everything pictured came to 46 dollars, which I think was fair for a heavy lunch, especially in a more touristy area. Good eats! 😼

This place rocks! My group went twice during our backpacking trip in Catalina. Shout out to the chef and staff for being awesome. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

I ordered a fruit cup and a latte, and unfortunately it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The latte was probably the bitterest I’ve ever tried, and the watermelon in the fruit cup tasted like it had been sitting around for a week—it had already gone bad. On top of that, the service was not welcoming at all. Definitely won’t be coming back, even if it’s the only place around and I’m hungry.

We came up for a late lunch and had the BEST time. Our server Caroline was very sweet and accommodating (we had a few special requests) the food was 😋 we had the Chaat-chos as an appetizer, but we dug in so fast, I didn't get a picture. My husband had the black bean burger and I had the ahi tuna and my friend had the oke poke and it was all very fresh and tasty. Thanks again to Caroline for the exceptional service. We hope to come back soon and taste the rest of the menu. I almost forgot to mention the fresh cut potato chips were also great 👍

Year round fresh fish dinners are no longer offered on a daily basis. This policy has now been going on for three years. Catalina is an island where people come to fish, and yet there isn't one offered on the menu. Why did you have to go to Avalon to get a fresh fish dinner. Harbor Reef used to have the best fresh fish on the island, yet when I was there no fresh fish offered. Why, what happened? Somethings fishy but not on my plate! Follow Up: We miss the days before the pandemic- Sea Bass, Baked, Mashed Potato or Rice Pilaf plus Vegetables . Choice of the Soup Of The Day or Dinner Salad and Fresh Bread. We couldn't wait daily to see what was written on the chalk board. They had New York Steaks, too. On a positive note. Presently your old stand by "Yacht Club" is arguably #1 sandwich on the island. The food tasted a bit off. Like something wasn't fresh or had been sitting too long. Not just bland, but questionable. The wait staff seemed completely disengaged, like they'd rather be anywhere else. No energy, no hospitality, no effort. Beautiful location, but it feels like they're phoning it in and coasting on the view. Would not recommend.

Coney Island West offers solid fast food with some outdoor seating. I tried the fish & chips and clam & chips—both were crunchy and satisfying. Perfect for a quick bite if you’re craving something fried and tasty. Great casual spot!

If you want fish and chips don’t go here. If you want a burger and a hot dog, it’s seems like a decent spot to eat at a very reasonable price. I got two orders if the fish and chips and it was rather gross. The breading was very thick and chewy and wasn’t crispy at all. It was chunks of white fish with a white bread like batter. I wish I got the burger.

Came for dinner and was highly impressed with the burgers 🍔, fries were standard. Burgers came loaded with condiments and thousand island, the grease from the burger seeping into the wheat bun made it delicious. Highly recommend coming here at least once. Quick service and very reasonably priced. Seating outside is nice.

Get the fish and chips! It was hot and fresh. Other reviews are right, the batter isn't very crispy which is why I removed one star. But still worth trying, especially for the price. The portions are generous (3 people shared 2 meals) and there's plenty of outside seating.

We made a reservation for dinner here on the first night of our vacation. The staff was so hospitable and attentive. We were a family of 5 (myself, husband, 3 sons) and there was plenty of seating for large groups. The restaurant was quiet in a nice way - it felt slightly more upscale than many of the other restaurants in Avalon. Everything was delicious (crispy ravioli appetizer was a hit!) We’d definitely eat here and recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Italian food and great service.

Stayed on Catalina for three nights and this was our favorite meal! We had the meatball appetizer, our entrees were chicken parmesan and manicotti, then for dessert we had tiramisu and chocolate cake. The black raspberry margarita was very light and refreshing! Everything was exceptional! The views were breathtaking as we sat outside watching the sunset over the water. Would definitely go back.

Very nice place. Linguine pesto scallop pasta was amazing!!! Staff was very friendly and professional. View was beautiful and music was great! My husband has ordered a steak and it was super yummy! Also they got us a high chair right away and coloring book for our daughter:) highly recommend!

The food was absolutely amazing. The clam chowder here is easily the best clam chowder we’ve ever had. The waiter we had was very attentive and nice. Very twinkley and romantic at night.

The M Restaurant... Welcome to the island. I came out here for a friends birthday. This was my first time eating here. We originally had our sights and appetites set for the Blue water Avalon. However we were rudely advised by the lady cleaning the door windows that they were closed. So we went to the M instead. The "M" (lucky #13) was a God send. Our waitress was Stepania. She was ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY AWESOME. She is literally Jonnie on the spot. I even took her suggestion for my meal. She recommended the Steak and Eggs. She did not disappoint. The meal in it's entirety was very good. I highly recommend it. As for the ambiance... The outdoor patio is very relaxing. If you plan on visiting Catalina Island in the near future please, PLEASE, PLEASE eat at the M. You will not be disappointed. P.s. Bluewater if you read this. Please talk to your staff. What they say in Spanish can easily be interpreted by someone who knows the same language. NOT COOL what she said. Bluewater you just lost a customer. M you just gained one.

Stopped by pretty close to closing time and Ruben was very accommodating. Service was friendly, professional, and unrushed. The Chicken parmesan and lasagna were both delicious & the cocktails were on point. He even took care of us with a free hazelnut torte for my girlfriend's birthday. Highly recommend stopping in here when you find yourself on Catalina!

Delicious! We were on the island for 5 days, and everyday we ate at at least one restaurant. The Naughty Fox was my favorite! I got the Cataline Chicken Bowl, and I ate ALL of it! So refreshing and you won't feel like you overate. The hubby got the Ahi Poke Nachos and he said it was great. I don't like raw fish, but I tried a chip with the poke sauce and it was very good! My girls got a salad and burger, and they both liked theirs. My 16 year old said that the chicken in her salad was dry, but everything else was good. Our drinks were really good too! We got the Chile Mango Margarite and the Svelt Strawberry... SO GOOD! We will be going back FOR SURE! The worst part is the lack of seating, but it was worth the 15 minute wait.

We got lucky finding this good quality restaurant in Avalon, food was incredible and delicious. It took awhile for us to be seated and order food but they made up for it by being flexible on the menu, patient in explaining everything, giving recommendations. We got two chicken bowls and mac & cheese without lobster. Our go to lunch spot from now on!

The Naughty Fox is in a nice location with a good view. The servers are helpful and attentive, even with a to-go order the presentation was nice. I do agree with other reviewers that the cost to portion size is on the smaller side. What I did have was very good though. It would be five stars across the board if it was a little more reasonable.

I had a great time at The Naughty Fox. We came in for drinks only, and even though we didn’t try the food, everything about our visit was excellent. The drinks were great, and the service was just as impressive, thank you Diana! While the prices were a bit high, that’s pretty standard for an island since most things are imported. The staff was friendly and easy to talk to, which made the experience even better. I can’t wait to visit again.

Came here for brunch and it was sooo delicious! We got the mimosa flight & got to choose 4 different puree flavors and it did not disappoint. Great location right next to the water too. A little expensive but everywhere here is pricey.

This place was pretty decent. The service was all right nothing special. The guy kind of seemed bored and just very nonchalant. But the poke nachos were definitely the highlight with the wonton chips.

Good little spot off the path of of Avalon. Food was good and service was quick. They have a cool bar spot that's half outdoors. Also they have some outdoor seating that gives you a great view of the ocean.

Service was great. Went around 11am and was able to sit outside. Got the grilled fish tacos with Mexican rice. The beans did not have much flavor. They gave me a lemon instead of a lime to squirt on the tacos which I thought was odd. They tasted a bit dry. I removed the tortilla from the second and it tasted better but I wouldn't get them again. They were just okay.

Wow! Stopped in on a Tuesday evening with 10 guests (celebrating our parents' 37th anniversary). It was quite a wait/busy, but they put tables together for us right on the sand in front of the water within minutes. Very kind, friendly greeter. Ordered several drinks and dishes, and everyone loved their choices! Prices were as expected for the area. Like most of the restaurants, they do not offer tap water in glasses. You have to order bottled water. But they did allow us to bring our own tumblers of water. -Potato Tacos + Salsa Verde on the side (delicious!) -Lazy enchilada (folded in half) with red sauce wad so good (almost an Italian flavored red sauce) -Bahama Mama Cocktail -Pomegranate Daquiri (little too sour/sweet) -Lava Flow frozen Cocktail -Crab Enchilada Everyone raved about their dishes and drinks. Would highly recommend for a nicer meal with a group. Restrooms inside, and interior decor and atmosphere was very nice as well.

We stopped here for lunch. The service was great and the staff was attentive to our needs. The vibe and music were chill, perfectly matching the sunny day and blue water around. I wish the tacos were more flavorful and didn't just taste like grilled chicken with plain tortillas.

We stopped in Maggie’s Blue Rose for some lunch while on Catalina Island. We ordered the Seafood Enchilada Combination. It came with a lobster, crab, and shrimp enchilada. (along with rice and beans). They were all good, but the lobster enchilada was phenomenal. Additionally, the sauce was amazing. I think my husband would have licked the plate if he could have. The service was prompt and friendly. The view was peaceful and serene. It was a great lunch in an incredible location.

The hot salsa was to much lime and the regular salsa had no flavor, all tomatoe. The perfect Manhattan was not great, to much cherry. The service was slow on getting just bottle of cokes. Its an okay place.

As a vegetarian, I would skip this place. The chips and salsa is not what one would expect. The chips are stale and the salsas are about average. The Pico de Gallo had no jalapeno and lime 🍋‍🟩, that's weird. The Chile Rellano tasted good but had very little cheese filled in. The rice is not that great. It felt as if it was made of overnight rice.

I guess the place is good for drinks like any other place around. The food was no good, disappointing. We tried the fish options and it wasn’t good. Fish had no flavor. Felt like frozen. We were hoping we would get fresh fish. Service was late. We waited 45+ mins to get our food. I think they were short staffed. So much crowd but less people to serve. Would not recommend. We only liked the Poblano soup. Atmosphere is good.

This restaurant is conveniently located on the main strip and has a pleasant ambiance, but the food was disappointing. The flavors were bland and the portion sizes didn't justify the price. I wouldn't recommend this place for food. The drinks, however, were good and worth a try.

We sailed into Catalina from Carnival Cruise. We had all the meals on the cruise but just wanted a good coffee as that was not good at cruise. However, I was totally disappointed with the coffee there as well. Staff was friendly but looks like management was stingy. What caught my most attention was the board," TOILET ONLY FOR CUSTOMERS". This must be the only place I would have seen this. anyway can't say much more about food as I didn't order anything else but I saw around their servings were very big.

Shrimp was delicious, cheese appetizer was interesting, margaritas didn't taste like they had tequila in them, and our bill was outrageous (we didn't get a detailed receipt to know why). Location off of ferry and decent views. Service wasn't terrible. I'm glad we checked it out, but I wouldn't love to return, though.

Fine experience at Mi Casita. Overall it's an average American Mexican restaurant with the typical fair- don't expect anything fancy. I suspect most people come for the giant margaritas. Food: The portions are gigantic. You can easily split one dish between 2 or 3 people. I recommend the nachos, which were the best dish we ordered due to the copious amounts of cheese on top (which was actually melted all the way, I was quite impressed). The fajitas are quite salty and the burritos are average. The guacamole is alright. Atmosphere is average: the interior is dated and not well maintained (rips in the seat cushions, etc), the glasses are plastic, the cutlery and napkins are quite cheap. The service however is very attentive and extremely helpful! Our waiter came around often and the order came out correctly and quite fast. Kudos to the service staff, they do their job well.

Service wasn't super friendly, food was bland and overpriced (touristy area obviously). The bees flying around everywhere are annoying, you have to pay for chips and salsa, only get one free beverage refill, and if you wanted to share a meal they charge you $5 to do so, they also don't even have cheese dip (what kind of Mexican Restaurant doesn't have that?!?) Our waitress argued with the party right next to us and was very unaccomodating. They asked to have a drink remade and was told that they had a good bartender and if she wanted it remade she would have to charge for another one, if she didn't like that then she could leave. I would expect more friendly and accommodating behavior from a touristy place such as a restaurant on Catalina Island, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Visiting Catalina for a long weekend and of the three breakfast places that we tried this was our favorite of the three. It has a beautiful location right across from Avalon Bay so you have a great view of the water while dining. It was quite busy when we arrived for our 9:30 Friday morning breakfast but we didn’t have to wait very long. They have a pretty large menu filled with a lot of great options and the other diners around us seemed like they were enjoying their meal as well. Pricing is fair and our server was very polite. The restaurant is actually larger on the inside than it looks on the outside so there are plenty of seating options. The food was pretty good, not quite as good as the breakfast you will get over in the mainland, but for a little island breakfast spot it was really enjoyable. For my meal I ordered the Chorizo Sizzler and enjoyed it. I wish there would have been more chorizo and a little bit less onions but still overall it was a really nice meal. I also got a coffee and thought it was strong and tasty. I would recommend to anyone visiting the island and I would stop in again next time I visit Catalina.

This place is cute. The wait wasn't long considering we went on a nice August Saturday. Our waitress in the left side bar area of place was not very friendly. Had to hunt her down for refills and butter for pancake. Plus she said oh we only have 1 knife clean so you'll have to share. It's kinda pricey so I expected better quality and better service. The food was meh. I wouldn't return again . The view is cute though.

Came for brunch and had a great experience. Greeted and served by amicable, quick staff. Waited less than 5 minutes on a very busy weekend. Price-to-portion size was very reasonable. French toast as on point and delicious. Eggs and sausage were great. Establishment was very clean and ambiance was friendly, family oriented.

Pancake Cottage is a VERY popular place for breakfast. If you get there early (before the ferry’s start coming in) you have a better chance of getting a table. The line outside gets long. Prices are ok. Staff are nice and can be quick with service. We split a pancake combo (2 pancakes, 3 slices of bacon and scrambled eggs. It was good. They don’t serve booze

Great place for brunch. Close to the ferry terminal. Usually they’ve long wait as they are super busy. But the service is pretty quick and everyone is so nice and helpful. Food is tasty. Pancakes are the softest!!!! If you’re visiting Avalon, must go to place!!!

Great staff and food was delicious. We got there just in time before the cruise folks. This place was recommended by the locals.

For fellow tourists: there is another breakfast place 3min away called Jacks or Jake’s. I think that place is better Food was very mid to low quality, i got an omelette with only egg whites and maple syrup tasted so fake and the corned beef hash was not okay. This is so weird.

I really think the ladies were just having a bad day, but don’t bring that into work. We went into get coffee and granted we came in on the 7am ferry so we are there super early. The service was slow, had a bit of an attitude and EXPENSIVE. I knew we should have gone somewhere else. It was NOT it.

Great coffee, nice view! Before heading back to the mainland, we stopped here to chill and have a late afternoon coffee. The team member working was friendly. The logo is pretty. We got an iced coffee and a hot decaf. There’s space for sitting inside and outside. You can see the water from inside or outside the coffee shop. I really liked this place, and recommend. It was a nice spot to visit during our wonderful time on Catalina Island. Next time I’m on Catalina Island, I’ll definitely stop by. I recommend!

I've gotten the latte here several times. The coffee is bitter and burnt. Even with lots of sugar, you can taste the bitterness in the coffee. If you like your coffee that way this place is fine. If not go to one of the other places.

We came here early in the morning and it was really crowded with people. The place is good decorated and serve a great coffee to be honest as they grind, pour fresh roasted, hand crafted dancing goats coffee ☕️(as they described it). They have a good collection of desserts 🧁, sandwiches 🥪 and other snacks . Not to mention their pizza 🍕. They also serve Hand picked selection of craft beer 🍺 and microbrews. And more to be discovered next visit;) the only thing is that the staff were really busy to make sure that their tables are clean and ready for customers

I recently visited the Catalina Island Brew House and had a fantastic time. The location is great, right near the water, and the coffee is really good. One of the best parts was the amazing views of the ocean. We also enjoyed the food; the good coffee was a perfect start to the day, and the vegetarian egg bites were delicious. Overall, it’s a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy some quality refreshments. Highly recommend!

The ham and cheese quiche and iced were both delicious. One of the best destinations for a quick breakfast on the island!

If you want a real Mexican dining and food experience, you must try this place! The staff were incredibly welcoming and provided the best hospitality. The environment was lovely. Very spacious, relaxing, and scenic. This is a hidden gem away from the tourist spots. Worth the walk to here. Thank you to the staff and cooks for serving my daughter the mojarra she has been craving ❤️

Tucked a scenic 15-30 minute walk from the bustling town center (or a breezy 7-minute joyride by golf cart—don’t forget: sip, don’t drive!), this spot is a legit hidden gem for locals, students, and cruisers alike. And guess what? They get you. Specials for cruise-goers? Check. Student deals for the nearby school crowd? Double check. Happy hour? Triple taco check. Let’s taco ‘bout the food. I only sampled the fish taco and chips & salsa, but wow—¡qué auténtico! The fish taco had a good flavor within the Baja expected. The chips? Fresh-made daily, a rare flex. They were thicker than I usually like, but still hit the spot when dunked in that zesty, made-from-scratch salsa. The aroma of grilled carne asada was absent so I didn't try the tacos. I'm from San Diego so it's hard to try meat tacos from other places unless I know for certain. I chatted with friendly customers and they too delighted in their meal choices with accolades. The vibe? Open-air beauty. Shaded by trees or sheltered by actual structures, it’s a spot where your margarita gets a little extra glow from the Catalina sun. Seating choices abound: bar, table, or those high-top seats that let you sip and spy on passing golf carts. Full bar, clean restrooms, mobile-accessible, and full of the kind of warm service that makes you feel like you’ve been coming here for years—even if it’s your first time. INSIDER KNOWLEDGE: Catalina’s got a couple other Mexican joints near the center, I’d steer you away from them with a firm flick of my tortilla. The Sandtrap? Decent stop on our e-bike tour. $2 happy hour tacos starting at 2pm but be forewarned: there's only one order taker, and the line gets LONG.

Really tasty. If we had come here earlier in our trip I know we would have visited more than once. We were there at an odd time and it was empty. I imagine this is quite a lively place when it's busy.

One of the best places to eat & / drink in town. Good to see a long term family business still in Avalon, Santa Catalina Island, California. Tacos are yummy.

This place is a vibe. You stroll in post hike or after wandering around Avalon and it somehow welcomes you like it’s been waiting there just for you. Portions are generous, your wallet doesn’t collapse when you pay, and that fish and chips basket was so crispy and satisfying I briefly considered building a shrine to it. We split a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and fish and chips basket and still debated which was the real MVP. Full confession: I’m a die hard burger guy, and yet that fish had me second guessing life choices. Staff were super nice, making you feel like you weren’t just buying food, you were feeding your soul. The setting is great too. You’ve got that indoor outdoor dining deal going, birds and squirrels eyeing your table like they’re ready for a snack heist, and you can’t help but feel like you stumbled into some secret Puerto inspired breakfast nook but with tacos and margaritas replacing churros. Honestly, if you wander in here and don’t walk out thinking “this was well worth the detour,” check your taste buds. Sand Trap is the kind of hidden spot that makes Catalina Island feel like more than just a postcard scene, it makes it feel delicious too. You owe it to your stomach to give it a go.

Optional covered or umbrella patio seating outside. Can be chilly in evening hours. Beautiful view of golf course, mountains, school, hospital, street and horse stables. Always great food, fast and friendly service, best prices in town. I highly recommend. They have many items to choose from menu for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner. Give the Sandtrap 10 stars

Very cute place and very vegan friendly! I asked if they can make fajitas with beyond meat and they did it which is great. Even though they were very generous with the plant-based meat the flavor of the fajitas was off. Big portions and delicious fresh chips!

Iv been here before for dinner and it was great! Somewhat salty but not bad and good portions for the price. What really stood out to me was the service and price of a margarita. I came by around after closing time to which they were still taking walk ins. The margarita was huge huge huge. Seemed endless in the comically large cup. And that at $11. This place rocks. It's great for a late night thing since they're open later than all surrounding places.

The only Mexican restaurant I've eaten where chips and salsa is not served before the meal. Waited a long time for our food. The server never asked if we wanted a refill our beverage or how the food taste, I had to get up and ask the bartender for a refill. Bad service and the food was edible but definitely not worth $70 plus tip. I would suggest eating at a different restaurant. On a positive note Catalina Island is a beautiful place.

Came here for the “all you can eat” from 3-5pm. It was $20pp which is a good price for this sort of thing. However the food was not good, seemed like it was just microwaved. My friend felt sick immediately after so we had to leave early. The employees were nice and the atmosphere is alright but i would not recommend coming here

I had the avocado ceviche and I have to tell you the fish was absolutely fresh, wonderfully cured not too salty not too sour just great flavor and great texture. Plus a nice heap of homemade tortilla chips on the side and of course, the half of avocado perfectly ripe. I was by myself and found a great table by the window. There’s a nice little bar tile and mural decor, and another group came in. It looks like almost 20 people, and they lined them all up, conveniently along the mirror wall with plenty of room for other tables inside and out. An intimate place with friendly people. Big thumbs up.

Cute restaurant with nice decor, but the food was not great. They also didn’t have all the items available on the menu like the ceviche and shrimp consome. I ended up ordering the green aguachiles and some of the shrimp were not deveined. For $23 I think the shrimp poop should be cleaned at the bare minimum. lost my appetite after seeing that and ended up just eating the avocado, onions, and chips. Fish tacos were alright but not spectacular. Service also was not great and it took a while for our server to bring us the bill. Overall food and service was mid, save your money and go elsewhere

So I just got back from Catalina and I'm still reeling from the most epic drink ever - Buffalo Milk, yeah I know, weird name, but trust me, it's a game changer. We hit up Coyote Joe's, because, Mexican food, duh, and I was on a mission to try this mythical drink. We scored a seat outside, because people watching is the best, and the weather was straight fire. We ordered the cheese enchiladas plate, because, basic, and my wife got the Birria Tacos, which were, no joke, amazing. My enchiladas, meh, but hey, I wasn't there for the food, I was there for the Buffalo Milk. Our waitress brings out these two glasses, one big, one small, and I'm thinking, okay, this is it, and oh man, it did not disappoint. I tasted the small glass, and I get it, the hype is real. It's like crack, but, you know, in a good way. I downed that small glass, and then proceeded to steal some of my wife's, sorry, not sorry. I'm making this drink my go-to from now on. Major props to the bartender, you're a genius. Only bummer, no free chips and salsa, what's up with that? The decor was on point, bright, festive, the whole shebang, and our waitress was awesome, wish I'd caught her name. All in all, Coyote Joe's is a must try, and don't even think about leaving without ordering the Buffalo Milk.

Just hung out for drinks but what a place the history is cool! If those walls could talk. The bartender was great and he had plenty of advice! Could not recommend a better place.

Not on the main drag, but definitely a don’t miss spot. Ardis was helpful and made fantastic drinks. Beers are definitely reasonably priced. Shocked it wasn’t packed to the gills in here. Come here when you stumble off a cruise or come to the island. You will NOT be disappointed. Also, the bathroom was super clean.

The atmosphere is so neat! I love that the locals go here and they seem pretty nice!! The bartender was nice and direct, but fun! I would love to return.

This place is really fun was told that it was one of the oldest bars on Catalina.

Had fun in the beginning because of Savannah the bartender but ERIN the other bartender was horrible she was very drunk on the job being messy with customers. Didn't want to serve us water lol. She also threaten to fight me when i called her out for being very rude. Also locals said she's always like this don't know how the owner hasn't fired her embarrassing! She also lied telling people she was the owner lol locals said keith owns the place.

A nice cozy local bar, very casual, friendly bartenders. A local "Cheers' like hangout where every local knows each other. Best of all...good tasty drinks, inexpensive well & call drinks ($5-$7), needless to say we had a few, met some great visitors like us, as well as locals, and had a great time!! Will definitely come back here on the next trip to Catalina.

Nice little bar, has 1 pool table and 1 foosball table. Service was nice, the music wasn’t our vibe but other than that it was cool.

I read some negative reviews about this place. So this is review is based on my own personal experience. We were walking around trying to find a place to eat and came across this pizzeria. We ordered 1 clam chowder 1 garlic bread. 2 small pizzas and I got the angus burger with 2 cokes. I paid 95 dollars in total. Please be aware that sodas cost 4.50 each. The food was ok can't complaint when we had such a beautiful view of the beach. Our server was very friendly and got our correct. We will be returning again when we visit the island.

Great location. Beautiful views of the ocean but interesting food. Large menu with various items to accommodate everyone. They don’t offer tap water to drink just bottled. The menu itself is a little expensive. Our server was young and needed some training. Over all cool restaurant with lots of history.

The view is amazing and the food looked good in pics but it taste ok. I will be back just to enjoy the nice view. I also came for breakfast and it was interesting. The food taste like it had no salt on the eggs and hash browns. The pancakes taste like they had more salt.

Two different locations in Avalon on Catalina Island. The larger location has a warm environment with many nostalgic memorabilia, and a great beach front view. The smaller older location has a delicious off the menu pizza, just ask for the "Lorena special" it has fresh tasty ingredients such as jalapeño, avocado, pepperoni, and pineapple. A definite must try. Make sure to stop by both locations, both extremely friendly staff and delicious food.

Not many spots are open for breakfast but this one is and has not only great food but great service and views. Delicious pancakes, eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. Can customize anything to make it exactly how you want it.

I never write bad reviews let alone any reviews at all, but after leaving this restaurant I knew I had to write one. My friend and I were super excited to eat here because it was right in front of the water and had a great view. My friend ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and I ordered a Hawaiian pizza. My friend received her pasta, and I ended up getting my pizza 25 minutes after she got her pasta (she was done eating by the time I got my food). When I asked my server about my pizza he just kept walking and rolled his eyes which made me even more upset. When I finally received my pizza, it was hard and quite frankly not even good. It was probably one of the worst pizzas I’ve ever had. When it was time to get our checks, the server didn’t even have enough guts to bring it to us and made someone else do it. He also didn’t even come back to get our check, and I ended up having to walk it up to him. I don’t recommend this place at all. If you just want to go here for the view, there are other places that are probably 1000 times better. Honestly I probably should have gotten a refund. Don’t go here!!!!!!

The gluten free pizza was great! Javier and the others who served us were fantastic. Only downside was they didnt serve water, you had to buy bottled water.

They don't do samples but I asked the girls opinion of three and she said Salted Chocolate Pretzel was her favorite so that's what I got and I was glad I did! It was unique and delicious! I tried Sailors for ice cream and Scoops gelato (also really good). Reddit said to skip Lloyd's. I looked it up and it's just dreyers ice cream. Sailors and scoops are made in house! (Sailors I had the iced latte da which I also recommend)

I’m sure the ice cream is great but this is about the Starbucks inside. It took them 10 minutes to make an iced white mocha with no drinks in line before me. I understand people were training but espresso shots quite literally pull at less than 30 seconds, and the trainer should take over if it’s taking that long. Here’s the routine for the baristas there since they seem to have forgotten: pull shot, add white mocha and catch the shot, add milk and ice. I’ve been a Starbucks barista for 7 years and can make 4 drinks in a minute 30. No reason why 1 white mocha should take six times as long. The shop is also pretty small so it was awkward standing and waiting. To make matters worse, the white mocha is sitting at the bottom, and it should be stirred before the milk goes in. Cutting corners and still taking far too long is a good sign to not return.

Popular spot here on the main dining area in Avalon. While the gelato is good, it is a little stringy, which makes it a little messy. Service is fine, but I don't like an ice cream shop that is not willing to offer samples, so they lose a star for that. Four scoops for $30 seems a bit expensive for what it is. There are many other ice cream shop options nearby.

Excellent ice cream, the banana ice cream , rose raspberry gelato and peach mango gelato were amazing!! If you don’t like sweet have the matcha it’s very true to the green tea flavour !

NO FREE TASTE BEFORE TO BUY. Lemon berry should be named sour lemon berry. They dont do free tasting, wish they did. I wouldn't have bought this flavor. Ordered in a sugar cone but got it in a cup. Don't know how that happened. There's a nother ice cream spot the block, Lloyd's so dont think you have to get ice cream from here. DO NOT BUY Marshmellow treats, not good, stale cereal, I bought the fruit loops. $9 approx 4x4 in size. I took 3 bites and threw the rest away.

Visited this place every day during our recent stay at Catalina Island. Scoops has the BEST home made ice cream on this island. I saw signs about their French Brioche and had to try that. If you do trust me you wont be disappointed. I ordered the French Brioche with a scoop of Triple Chocolate and frozen strawberries + Oreo crumbles + chocolate syrup and this was the best thing I ever had. It was delicious. I still crave for it and cant find it anywhere I live in WA. This place can have a long wait time so be prepared if you plan to grab one before boarding your ferry. The staff is friendly and there is a Starbucks in the same spot if you want to grab some coffee with your ice cream. All in all I loved their French brioche and would highly recommend this place for anyone who visits Catalina.

Excellent employees that were all very helpful and nice. The coffees were great. The ice cream flavors were great. The amount you get is a good amount. We bought one medium sized one and it was perfect for us 2. Price is pretty good for what you get. You will have to walk to get here. There is street parking just a few feet away. Overall, a great place to get your ice cream and Starbucks coffee.

Leticia and Rosie were so sweet and friendly I actually came back a second time on the same morning. They serve Illy coffee for both drip and espresso, which is a personal fave. I only wish it were brewed a tad stronger, but then I like my coffee really dark. Bagel was also very fresh.

Had a great stay at Atwater hotel. Decided to get some coffee before we headed out. I unfortunately had Leticia as my cashier. She was extremely rude. She cut me off multiple times as I was ordering. She said chocolate mocha and I asked to confirm that my drink was White chocolate mocha not milk chocolate and instead of saying yes she asked “well what did you ask for?”. I said white chocolate and she responded with “then that’s what you’ll get”. It was uncalled for as she said my order wrong the first time and I was trying to make sure it was correct.

I love the wide variety of juices and breakfast options. The veggie breakfast burrito is just okay. I had to put hot sauce on mine. But great big portion size for the price. The cold pressed juices are amazing. Fast service! There are little tables nearby to eat. You get a discount if you stay at the hotel atwater. Staff is very professional.

Good coffee, way better than Starbucks. Nice tea selection. Zero gluten free options as all the sandwiches and burritos are premade garbage. My sister has a sandwich and said the eggs tasted frozen. Much better breakfast options at other places in Avalon.

No listed prices nor a menu, gives them the chance to charge what they want. They have food in a display just no pricing. Two chais' and a two pastries just above fifty bucks. So expensive if you ask me. Oh and both chai tea latte were large and were only half way filled the other half was foamed milk. It was disappointing and not worth all our hard earned monies.

Great experience all around. Awesome service, Michael was really helpful and knows a lot about the beers and island. Excellent atmosphere. We had a party of 6 adults and 5 young kids, it was perfect for us to spread out, enjoy the brews with good food and let the kids play. Super clean area, well shaded, bonus points for the spotless bathrooms. We will go back on the next Catalina trip!

Came to Catalina to do a bbq festival in Teo Harbor’s. Stoped at the Beirgarden cause the vibe looks great and had live music. What we got was a great Angus Burger. But we see Avalon Smoke houses a local Pitmaster does his thing here. Be back tomorrow for that. . Killer beers on tap. And Michael the lead dude really took great care of us. You can tell he loves creating a welcoming experience. You guys have a gem in Michael. Great energy and it made for a great time. We take care of so many people. I bought my lunch on the mainland. Really greasy burger and fries from an authentic L.A. food truck. Anyway, got two of everything, ate one meal for breakfast and took the fairy to the magic kingdom of Catalina. I had a great time on the isle of dreams and stopped at West End in mid-afternoon. I ordered a coffee, took out my second meal and proceeded to pig out. I had a great time for next to no $. So for me, The West End was cheap and atmospheric. A perfect place to bring your own food.

hard working crew - it could be run so much more efficient with two people working two mobile iPads instead of one register and another hidden- place is a gold mine, and how can it not be, it’s a monopoly on the island. Don’t ever show up at 7:59 or even 8am. The staff will despise you. Call me I’ll run the place much better than a 15 person line out the door. Man how lucky you are to have only one place to eat in the am in the entire two harbors —/ don’t be complacent. A few changes to make it more efficient. The staff is smiling and hard working though so props to them

This place is great for someone wrapping up the TCT or even for someone just section hiking/camping for a few days. I love to grab breakfast here on the morning I plan to go back on the ferry. This past trip I had chicken tenders when we came in as a day 0 type of thing and on our way out I had the e-bay (everything BEC bagel). I remember the service being really slow the last time we were on the island, with just 1 person working the register and 1 person in the kitchen, but this time they had at least double that and the service was quick, which was preferable. It's a little pricey but everything in two harbors is.

I had a great hamburger and fries here. Breakfast lunch and very funny. They close at 5pm. Staff were friendly and nice views too. Right beside the restaurant and saloon. Easy fast service. Where the locals go.

Good spot for a burger or simple fair. I wouldn’t order anything special here or at the reef bar/grill. Expect to be paying an island tax because everything is shipped to the island. Always super friendly staff that keep their cool even on the busiest of weekends.

Food is not even edible. Extremely over priced and overcooked, if you must stick to the blt the burger and fish were so overcooked/fried that it was painful to the mouth and wallet. Really sad because it's the only option at certain hours of the day. They need a QA check ASAP.

Had a chicken Caesar salad wrap. Was made 2 days ago. Soggy 2 day old wrap with no chicken. What a joke. And they forgot about our order! Just get a pizza or a burger if you have to…

We booked the smallest room and it was small (cruise ship size). However it was very clean and the shower was really nice. Also the beds are very comfortable. Location is key, this hotel is right in the middle of everything you will want to do but was still quiet. The staff are the most friendly ones I have met. They checked us in early and helped get the tour we wanted. I would stay here again when we come back.

Hotel Atwater is my go-to spot when staying on the Island. The staff are friendly, helpful and just overall accommodating. I really do appreciate (Livia) the hotel front desk receptionist, who was just awesome. She went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and memorable. The Atwater has a great location, it’s quiet and it has a Bistro. The Atwater has a luggage service to and from the ferry /hotel. They will also store your luggage prior to check in and after check out. I'm looking forward to my next stay at the Atwater Hotel.

We had an incredible experience! We stayed here during our honeymoon and the staff made it really special for us. They had great recommendations, and you also get a discount on island activities through the hotel, so wait to book your tours until you receive the discount code from the hotel! The location was fabulous, we were able to walk everywhere with no trouble. We appreciate the little coffee shop they had downstairs on the day we left.

If you’re looking to host a group in the island, you’ve found the right hotel. Rudy and Giovana were a huge help organizing our event beforehand and I can’t say enough nice things about how helpful the staff was during our stay. Great property. Great location. Great staff. Will repeat in future.

This place was amazing. They were so accommodating from the moment we checked in. They had great recommendations for activities and restaurants. The rooms are so cute and the location is very central to everything. Most importantly, they went above and beyond when it came to me retrieving my wallet that I left behind. I will definitely come back and stay here again.

The Junior Suite is not worth paying the extra money for. We were told it was recently renovated but the carpets are so so dirty. The check in and main lobby is beautiful though. And the staff is so nice. I would stay here again just not in a suite the view was bad too.

Wanted to play a game of bowling, it said 36 credits, we paid to play… but it only allowed one person to play bowling. I wanted a refund & they would only refund me credit. I said, it should be labeled as 36 credits per person, and the brunette girl worked was very rude & argumentative & said I should’ve asked & refused to refund me my money. But I would’ve never spent that money, had I known that the bowling cost that much. Terrible experience, did not want to stay & play the credits after such a nasty host asking me what’s the problem, when the problem was obviously I wanted my money back, when it’s ridiculous to think that an arcade would think one person would want to bowl alone… SCAM

The food is so amazing...we had lunch there and returned for dinner! Shared crispy green beans while he had chilaquiles adding egg and I enjoyed the baja fish tacos (plain). There was a lot of fish on those tacos. I preferred the chipotle aioli sauce with tacos. For dinner, we had pesto pizza and calamari. (side note, these green beans are 100% better than the ones at The Habit)

Wonderful place to bring the kids after a long day of tourist activities! They were able to enjoy themselves with the variety of games here including air hockey, giant shooting games, and even bowling! It's nice that Avalon has this here for families traveling with children since so much of the island is geared towards adults relaxing and enjoying the view. This place uses point cards that kids use for playing the games and storing their tickets that they win from the games.

This place was good , affordable prices and the service was fast. I’m from L.A and working here for the summer so it’s difficult at times finding affordable good food on the island . I ordered the carne asada quesadilla, the red chili /salsa was good and not too spicy . The food tasted fresh it had pico the gallo and avocado. I’m excited to try the rest of the menu .

This place is a lot of fun if you have some kids who like to play arcade games. It has video games, Skee-Ball, and all sorts of things you can do to earn tickets. The tickets can be redeemed for different prizes, it gets expensive quickly and as all of these arcades you would probably be better off just buying a toy if that is what you want but the fun of this arcade is using and playing all of machines. None of the machines take quarters you put money I card that can be used to activate the game.

Fun idea, but overall a fail. More than half the games in the arcade were "out of order". The basket balls for the Connect4 (fun game!) were torn & super old. Entire arcade was quite dirty & could use a bit of attention.

The food was good and the service was great. My food got cold quick but it was because the ceiling fans were on so be sire to eat quick or you’ll eat cold! My favorite thing was the restaurant’s decoration.

It was our first visit to Catalina Island and we were told to give El Galleon a try. Good food with a view of the boardwalk . Thank you Angelica for making our visit a great one.

I love a good painkiller in this place has a really good one. The zucchini fries or whatever it is we’re very good. I don’t know how they do it but it’s delicious. And the firecracker shrimp were also tasty.

Within an hour of arriving to the Island, we decided to try the happy hour here. We ordered the onion rings and zucchini, a beer and a mixed drink. Female server ask if we were ordering from the Happy Hour menu. We said, Yes. When the bill came we had been charged for 2 separate appetizers $16. As seen on the happy hour menu, the order shows as a half onion rings and half order of zucchini for $8. Here's a picture of both menus, you make the call. Felt a little on the bamboozled side, kinda like a bad fishing trip. LoL. We will not be returning.

Best prime rib in months…in our 3 days of stay, we had our lunch and dinner there and will have our dinner there tonight too…anything and everything’s awesome…

Service was great , we were seated promptly without a reservation. The firecracker shrimp was delicious! Nicely seasoned with great flavors. The salmon was a great portion size along with the mashed potatoes, would have liked more broccoli but that’s my only negative criticism. The steak was cook really well, juicy ,succulent, and buttery taste. The piña colada had great balance of rum and coconut mix. Also everything was nicely priced for portions and taste.

I really enjoyed the pizza here, and after a weekend in Avalon, I’d say this was definitely one of my favorite spots. We had the antipasto salad, some hot wings, and a turkey bacon club sandwich, and everything was a hit — no complaints at all! If you’re looking for a quick and tasty bite, this is definitely a place to try.

Visited on a Monday night with a group of 10. Were about to be seated right away but was some mixup with another customer who had seemingly been waiting 20 minutes for a table (they must've forgotten). Split our group up between a few tables inside and outside. Service was a little strange/not smooth. Food was good - pepperoni pizza, garlic cheese bread, and small antipasto salad to split amongst 3 people. Plenty of food, took home leftovers. Prices to be expected for area. Would recommend for a simple pizza/Italian meal. They also had slices to go.

This is a cozy little pizzeria on the island, full of charm, with lots of fun historic decor hanging all over the walls and even the ceiling. You have two options: dine in or grab a slice. I chose to dine in and it did not disappoint me. My waiter was a lovely kind lady who made my short stay very pleasant. I ordered a small pizza with mushrooms and a garden salad. The salad was very basic yet fresh and I enjoyed it, however, I wish there were more mushrooms on the pizza. As the photo says it all, there are a few canned mushroom pieces sporadically spread on the pizza. The crust was very much to my liking, neither thick nor thin, perfect thickness. The sauce was fresh and the cheese was very fresh and delicious. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and highly recommend giving this place a try.

Came to grab some food during our recent cruise ship stop. Nice clean store, wide variety of deli items. Decent prices on stuff you would otherwise pay more for on a cruise ship. Has self-check-out. Would highly suggest if your picking up foods/snacks for your cruise cabin. Easy to find

Came in to gather some items for a BBQ we were having while visiting the island, found all the necessities here. Nice clean store however minus 2 stars for our cashier Batina who was acting inappropriately during check out. She asked us if we wanted to donate a lunch bag or something and we polity said not today, she then got very loud and repeated back while making a funny face You don’t want to donate? She seemed angry after that and it really made us feel uncomfortable. None of the other cashiers during our stay on the island acted like this so we thought this women was very strange, also noticed she was behaving this way to the man ahead of us and he appeared uncomfortable too. Other than that experience the store had all we needed for our stay.

Very understaffed, particularly the deli, meat and bakery departments. They have a great selection and a great option if you are in Catalina and want to pick up items for breakfast and lunch vs eating out all the time. But zero staff to help in these departments. I was waiting for a long time at the deli counter and finally asked the employee in the sandwich bar if there was anybody in the deli section. He was kind of rude, but the bottomline is no, there wasn’t. And he was busy helping the long sandwich line.

Nice clean well stocked store. People working here not friendly at all, hate tourists, so it seemed. Service is acceptable but rude and ignoring customers in front of their nose. No eye contact, move on, nothing here to see.

Great location walking distance from the beach and hotels, their wine selection was better then anticipated for a small store. But we had a very loud and unprofessional cashier named Batinna. She was holding up the line making loud and inappropriate comments. She was rude to us; Raising her voice and acting strange People were starring at her and she seems have no common sense or filter. Really surprised they would have someone acting like this in the store, we were told by a local he said she has a list of complaints but they keep paying to have her brought over. Anyways we got wine and snacks and are overall the selection was just as good as the other stores.

Thought we’d have a quick taco since their happy hour seemed like an amazing deal! $1.50, wow!! Will gladly sample to know a good place. Ordered tacos, puzzled why so much? Oh, you need to ASK SPECIFICALLY FOR THE HH TACOS. HH is chicken only. Otherwise, $6 each and they say NOTHING to you about it when you order and there is NOTHING saying that anywhere. Now I have no issue paying for good food, but I don’t like being tricked. We’ll be here for three days. Guess where I WON’T be eating the whole time we’re here or ANY time we come back.

Tacos and Beer! A great combination. The asada taco was a healthy portion of meat topped with fresh onion guacamole sauce. Tortilla held together and added a wonderful chew. Salsa has a nice heat. Smokey elements. Outside seating. And super fast and friendly service. 100% would come back.

I don’t normally write reviews, but this place deserves a warning. I paid $27 for Carne Asada Fries, and it was a complete waste of money. The fries were way too salty, and honestly, the whole dish was gross. I don’t even know how it’s possible to mess up Carne Asada fries, but they did. For reference, you can get the same dish in San Diego or Orange County for around $14, and it actually tastes good, nothing like what I got here. I’ll be sticking to those spots from now on. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place isn’t worth the hype.

Pete’s is the only one who opens if you are hungry after 9 pm. As you may know most of the restaurants in the island close at 8 pm. And all the bars close around 10 pm. - midnight, it’s going to be a problem if you’re hungry after 9 pm. But no worries you have Pete’s open all day all night long from 7 am. - 2 am. The food here was good and excellent service. I really appreciated for your late night work!!

Get off the strip and get the goods. Cool chill vibe, great prices. Ceviche is bomb

I love Pete’s cafe, ESPECIALLY the happy hour deals. $1.50 tacos & $5 margs- you can’t beat it. So yummy and they’re open until 2am.

This is a great location at the end of the strip near the mole. Great views and decent prices with friendly staff. Some of the food was really good (pancakes were awesome), but unfortunately the hash browns, eggs and bacon were just super oily and greasy. I will still give this place another try on my next trip to the island (hoping we just caught them at a bad time), because the views are definitely worth it.

Had a beautiful view on the roof top!! The food was so good too!!! It was our last dinner in Catalina before our boat out and it was a great end to our trip... really recommend ❤️❤️❤️

Our wedding event location was Toyon Grill & Event Center. It was incredible! The food was delicious - our guests said it was the best they had at a wedding. We had a small wedding (40 guests) and plenty of room (the space easily fits twice that) - everyone loved the location and view. Vida the event manager was wonderful to work with. Gerry the general manager and Jenny location manager were fantastic - the staff was so helpful and that was also commented on by the guests. Overall very well priced, high quality location and we were even able to stay under budget. I highly recommend Toyon grill & event center for any occasion or to stop by for their brunch when open to all as a restaurant.

Great place to come for breakfast after a long day of island exploration. Definitely, recommend the avocado toast bacon and egg. Very delicious. Also, awesome view if dining on the rooftop.

extremely rude staff, burnt toast, coffee tastes like burnt metal, they got the order wrong and they JUST DO NOT STOP with their negative attitude. my wife asked for an extra utensil set for my baby to share our food but they first refused to give them because we only ordered two meals. gotta be kidding me. bunch of dudes with attitude run this place. wont be back here Im scared they will do something horrible with our food too if i ask for more.

Got the eggs, hash browns with bacon and it was worse than McDonalds for quite a bit more. No utensils so we used coffee stirrers as chopsticks. It’s a holiday weekend so everything is packed but this breakfast gave up caring.

Full bar, great staff, good food and the best part is the outdoor seating with a great view of the Main Street and marina. They have seating on the second n third floor. Good place to chill while waiting for your boat ride

Our waitres was amazing, super sweet and attentive. Food is overpriced and not worth it. The famous drink they have taste just like kaluah with chocolate syrup.

The food was just okay. Nothing special. Honestly, you can get a better burger at In-N-Out. Mine came out warm at best, and the cheese wasn’t even melted. The fries were also cold to lukewarm, and the only drink options were bottled water or soda. I went with soda, but it barely had any fizz. The service was even worse. When we walked in, the host seemed strange and gave the impression that we weren’t really welcome. We asked her for a high chair and got nothing. Asked our waitress and still nothing. After waiting 20 minutes, I finally went and grabbed one myself. With a 10 month old baby you would think they would be more attentive. On top of that, the table next to us had to send their burger back because it wasn’t even cooked through. It was still pink inside. Overall, disappointing experience in both food and service. I would not come back.

This is a new restaurant in Avalon. It used to be Antonio's. The food here is good. The outdoor seating is relaxing and enjoyable. I had the Spicy Buffalo Pizza. The crust was perfect, light and fluffy with a crisp crust. It had a light amount of cheese and pizza sauce with sparse but tasty Buffalo sausage and pepperoni on it. My daughter had the lobster sliders which were not good. The turmeric spice on it was not good and a scant amount of lobster. KC had the fish tacos which were good but not great. The fish was overcooked and dry, but the taco shells were fresh and tasty. A little avocado or creama on them would have elevated them to another level. Andreas had the double smash burger. It is big and good but the meat is thin and reminded me of a cafeteria hamburger patty, not a smash patty. The fries and onion rings are good. Overall I would eat there again but don't expect top-notch food.

Loco moco burger. Blandest burger i ever had in my life to be honest. My partner got the farmers pizza and that too was the blandest pizza i ever had. Maybe other items are good and the presentation is good. However the taste here is pretty bland. Best of luck

Wow! We went to Pier 24 and our server Amaya was attentive, charming, helpful and truly took excellent care of us! We ordered the Double Smash burger and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten! The onion rings were perfectly crispy and yummy! Highly recommend Pier 24 and our amazing server Amaya! The manager James was wonderful too!

It’s one of those restaurant menus by the beach that tries to make everyone happy and then under delivers with lack luster food. We sat on the water side patio which used to have awesome tables but now is just a super thin deck with one long bar table. It was hard for servers and diners to get past so you’re getting bumped often. I like packed bars and engaging with people but this wasn’t that at all. Wont go back. Highly recommend going next door (wait in line) for a lovely dinner at Bluewater Grill on the water as their sand dabs are great, Bread on the table is delish, wine list has some lovely gems, and the service is attentive even when it’s busy.

Came here for lunch right after arrived from the Express. This was a horrible experience. I ordered the chicken date salad and I new it was going to be a fail when it arrived 3 minutes after I ordered it. The lettuce was chopped and wilted the tomatoes were old and soggy. I had to send it back. Literally afraid to eat it. We also ordered the tortilla soup and it was barely warm oily with the skin of the chicken floating around. I would never come to this place ever again.

One of the few places open late. Good music, pool tables & night caps. A good way to end the evening. A definite place for adults to check out.

I’m not one to get on here and write bad reviews ever. The fact that they have 18 year olds in there, but took my TWENTY FIVE (25) year old girlfriend’s ID is insane. We had to call the cops in order to get it back. Highly recommend avoiding this place, as they treat the islanders like crap.

Had such a blast at this club. Bartenders are friendly and the atmosphere is great! You can choose the music through an app which can be funny at times since the people at the club probably never heard of it but dance to it anyway since they’re wasted and just want to have fun! Will definitely be coming again when I visit the island next time.

The general store is a great place to go to get your bearings of the island. I went to kayak camp one weekend and was short on supplies so I went to the store once I got off the ferry. There, I was met with really knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff members. Specifically, one member named Blaine stood out. Blaine was very knowledgeable about the island climate as well as amenities. Consequently, Blaine also knew what supplies would be good to have based on where I was camping. He also shared the great hidden gems on the island and where to find them. Also, when I came back from camping and needed to charge my phone, Blaine was a huge help and offered to charge my phone and watch it as I went to lunch. Blaine embodies the hospitable and friendly spirit of the general store and Avalon in general!

Best General Store Ever and best employees ever! I didn’t get any names other than Shelby however I will say Shelby absolutely rocks! She was extremely friendly, helpful, fun and well, I can’t wait to go back to Catalina to see Shelby again! Thanks so much for such a great experience, y’all!

Blaine was very helpful!! I I shop at the general store year around. I’m a long time resident and visit the isthmus often. I’m a hiker and snorkel at the isthmus. I’ve spent many nights over at there. Your store always has what I need. Suggestion :maybe stock poison oak soap. There is so much along the trans Catalina trial. Love your pizza!!!

Found this place at the end of the pier. The view is nice 👍 plenty of seating with some shade. Watch out for the birds they will steal unattended food. The service is good and fast. Self clean up. The food was disappointing. $17 fish and chips but later saw restaurants nearby with better food for similar or slightly higher price and much better food that even had bathrooms and nicer atmosphere. These three fish pieces seem like from a freezer bag of fish fingers. Fries too. There is a Vons down the road just go there. Wish I saw the review before coming here. But if you want quick food and already at the end of the pier this is the place for you. Food isn’t terrible unless you consider the price quantity and other options down the road.

Avalon Seafood & Fish Market is a small establishment at the end of the pier in Avalon. They offer shaded outdoor seating with great views of the harbor because you're literally in the middle of it. My wife and I decided to eat here right after one of the semi-submersible tours because it was right at the end of the gangplank and we were hungry. If it's offered, I always get it: Fish & Chips. I asked how it was, and they said "We're well known for our fish & chips, so it's pretty good." It got me pretty excited, so that's what I got. When it came out just a few minutes later, it was underwhelming. The fish was piping hot; it went straight from the fryer to my plate. Unfortunately, the crust was light and did not offer a satisfying crunch. It gave way with each bite, and that was about it. Without lemon juice or sauce, the fish itself was slightly dry and tough. Some portions of it flaked a little as it should, but the majority did not flake well and required more tearing. With lemon juice, it was just a little tough, and the sauce was a nice accompaniment instead of a dish saver. They also have a condiments table with ketchup and malt vinegar on it, so it was nice to douse my fish a bit with the vinegar. The amount of sauce they provide is more than enough, and the lemon was easily large enough to coat my fish. Overall, I rate this fish & chips a 6.5/10 primarily due to the dryness and toughness, although the light crust did not help.

Over priced to begin with. For $24 I only got 2 pieces of fish and 6 other things of I don't remember what but I swear it was such small portions. I even asked if that was good enough for two people and they said yes. They served it in half a plate. The clam shower was decent though. All in total we spent $53 and we were still hungry. Honestly I've had better fish and way more from supermarkets for a third of the price. Honestly too expensive and not so great food. I'm not the only one saying it's too expensive for what they offer. Honestly I should have read the reviews before going there. Oh yeah one last thing the guy that helped us was cool but after I mentioned the small portion of the food he gave me a bad look and didn't even reply just rolled his eyes and walked away. I was going to mention to him he had a cool voice like he should be on the radio or doing voice overs or something like that.

Best hidden gem on Catalina Island!! So glad I ran into this spot. Amazing food, fast service with GREAT prices, and they give tab water (rare on this island)! There's also ample outdoor seating with a premium harbor view. Get the combo it comes with a free side! The sauces are also super delicious 😋 this is gonna be my go to food spot when coming to Catalina Island.

The food was passable. I was hungry and this place served its purpose. I had their Kung Pau Chicken which wasn't very spicy but it did fill me up. I was seated quickly and then my server disappeared for over 10 minutes. When I finally ordered my food arrived fairly quickly. Maybe next time will be better, if there is a next time.

I love going to Mr. Nings This is the only place to get Chinese food on Catalina Island. Lunch specials are the best and their choices on the garden dinner always seem to hit the spot. They are not always open due to the seasons, but definitely a great place to eat. Wish they never had to be closed because I love going here.

Our family used to go to Catalina a lot, 2 to 3 weekends a month though the summer and at least 1 weekend a month in the winter... "Catalina Cantina" was our go-to for Mexican food. We haven't been for about 6+ years... we moved to St Augustine, Florida... It's nice to know some things don't change, excellent food, friendly staff, fun atmosphere, and did I mention that the food is excellent??? 👍👍

Good restaurant. Good customer service. Delicious burgers. I had the bacon avocado burger, it was delicious! Delicious steak fries! Had the happy hour margaritas, they were delicious. This place is in a great spot, awesome view of the water.

Great mexican food with a fantastic view. They have a happy hour from 3-5pm with $3 domestic beers and $4 margaritas (not the flavored varieties though). Perfect for a nice relaxing stop and some people watching! The chicken quesadillas were spot on, but the shrimp tacos were messier than usual (they set them right on top of the beans). Our server kept forgetting about us, despite it not being that busy, otherwise it would have been a 5-star experience.

Here on a late dinner, food was great big plates that can serve two. The Quezadilla was very cheeze and chicken tasted good, my wife got the shrimp taco wich was bigger than a regular taco,like a very fat taco wich was good too. The carne asada burrito was giant, mom could not finish it by her self. Waitress was very nice, we had a very nice meal here and the place was nice.

Nice place to dine outdoors by the beach. Service was friendly but the food was severely lacking. Had a steak sandwich and the beef was jerky-like dry. It feels like leftovers they reheated. Shrimp basket was ok but they were tiny. Nachos were average at best

We spent a wonderful weekend on Catalina and enjoyed some wonderful meals at the Seaport Bistro. We discovered that some of the fish offerings were locally caught.

Service was great at first but slowed down once people started to come in. The steak wasn’t so great but the chicken dish was better than expected.

Have come for dinner twice within 3 days, our server Desirae was incredibly warm and welcoming. We were sat down immediately and offered drinks, we couldn’t conclude to what we wanted but Desirae was able to help us choose a delicious bottle of New Zealand white wine! Food was amazing, we had the buffalo wings for our appetizer and the baby-back ribs and vegetable pasta for our mains. They were also able to accommodate to our dietary requirements with no problems. Great ambiance, great food, wonderful wait service. Can’t wait to come back for more!

Great food! Great service! One of the few places where the food and service are based on earning a repeat visit. Too many places have the “it’s an island resort so we don’t have to work to earn your business”, but not Seaport Bistro. Greg does a fantastic job with the menu and often is out in the dining area making sure you enjoyed your meal. Off the beaten path but they do have a shuttle (Holiday Inn hotel shuttle). All you can eat nights are awesome ... best Prime Rib I’ve ever had!

So far I've been twice for their all you can eat, award winning, Sunday night chicken dinner and I can't wait to eat it again! The ceasar salad dressing is also home made and the BEST I've ever had. It really is truely delicious! I've also tried their chicken pasta with veggies and alfredo, which did not disappoint, and the mouth watering warm bread that comes with every meal. My parents have tried the Pad Thai and loved it. I really don't think you could go wrong here! So, if you're visiting Catalina, I highly recommend looking this restaurant up. You'll find them in the center of the Holiday Inn. (No reservations at the hotel required)

I had the pleasure of having breakfast at Seaport Bistro and I must admit how wonderfully delighted I was for receiving such excellent service. My waitress, Kennedy, made sure that all my food came out to perfection (I had a Traditional Eggs Benedict with a side of pancake) and indeed it did. She also helped me set my phone to charge while I was dining. The restaurant has indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Everything looked modern and well maintained. If you haven't been here, it's a must. Overall, I'm one happy customer.

Chef Greg Wenger's Seaport Bistro is a hidden gem! My wife and I just finished a fabulous dinner and we give it four thumbs up. Great quality food and service with a smile combined to make it our favorite Catalina Island dining experience to date. The Roman Style cheese and vegetable pizza was light, crispy and refreshing. And the fresh, hot bread is to die for (we heard the table next to us order two more loaves!) However, the star of the meal was the Bistro Seafood Stew. I'm not much of a fish stew person, but the broth was light, savory and layered with flavor. Packed with fresh seafood, the large portion left us full but wanting more. Kudos to the chef and his staff. We'll be back again!

Saw this spot on the map and thought we would grab a sandwich before the ferry. Interestingly the kitchen is closed from 12:30-1pm on a Sunday. Seems like a prime time to make money during the lunch rush but no luck here.

I'm not vegetarian BUT...the veggie wrap was on point. Wife and I scarfed it before we could take a picture. Don't let the knick knacks and size fool you. They have solid sandwiches and wraps.

They ripped me off and they'll rip you off. I bought a pair of sunglasses here. The next day, I noticed that the frame was sliding off of the lens - one of the screws was missing. An easy fix, right? So I went back... and they refused to fix it, refund me, or do an exchange, claiming "I could have done something to it after I bought it." I later took it to an eyeglass shop. They looked at it... and showed me that the reason that there was no screw is because there was NO HOLE DRILLED ALL THE WAY THROUGH for a screw to go through. So, literally impossible for me to have "done something to it" - it never had a screw in the first place. I learned a valuable lesson: NEVER buy sunglasses (or anything, really) from an island location that you can't easily get back to. They were well aware that I would almost certainly never be back, so they knew they could get away with taking my money and not selling me what I thought I was buying. Catalina is a lovely island with lovely shops - this isn't one of them. You can go literally anywhere else, less than a hundred feet away, and get the exact same thing for less, and from a more honest merchant.

If you get a sandwich, I suggest you get the tuna sandwich. I got mine on wheat bread and comes with lettuce and tomato. I requested pickles and relish too. Delicious. I think they might be using Claussen pickles because everything tasted so fresh and the pickles were very crispy. I requested sandwich without cheese and with no mayo, because I feel like the tuna already is mixed with mayo and the cheese would just distract from the tuna. The staff behind the counter are very kind and readily give great recommendations. I had asked about the turkey sandwich, and I sent that I was trying to decide between turkey and tuna, and they immediately said go for the tuna. I’m very glad that I did, because the turkey is not smoked turkey I only really like smoked turkey in a sandwich

Small little convenience store in the wharf of the ferry..: has the usual supplies … a little expensive

Cute little souvenir shop that also serves food. We picked up a few items as soon as we got off the ferry because it’s very close. Postcards and all kinds of knickknacks to commemorate the time you spend on the island. Located right beside the restrooms and information counters, you can’t miss it.

First time visit to Catalina Island, right off the boat my girlfriend and I saw this deli, we decided to give a shot and we loved it. She got the tuna sandwich and I got a chili cheese dog and they were both delicious, good portions, good value, and good service. We will be eating from here again before our boat leaves!

I'm sorry for the confusion. Cook: *looking at us as if he didn't want to be there.* No dine in ❌ Outdoor seating ✅ They close at 5PM according to Google, but after we ordered, they closed. 😯

We ordered Korean spicy pork and Kitty's special. The Korean spicy pork is too salty. The pork inside isn't fresh anymore. The shrimps in Kitty's special are not fresh at all. The shrimp are wrinkled and lack moisture, not chewy at all.

Let's start with this is a ca$h only establishment. Not a problem as I had cash while visiting Catalina Island. And while talking $$$ it was price affordable, price right and fairer that some other local restaurants. It's tucked away and seems like a local favorite. It's away from the tourist attractions on the main strip.. Menu options Korean and Mexican but trust me don't let that stop you if you wanted something American ish. Enjoy

It is good food, good price. Nothing fancy, but delicious. It only takes CASH.

Wow, best Coffee since we arrived in the US two weeks ago. And not just that but also very friendly and delicious pastry. Love it!

One of the only places that seems to have a good vegetarian option on Catalina Island, however they were closed and proceeded to tell me so very rudely at 4pm (when they close at 5). Disappointed, won’t be trying them. Most people can.

This is not a review on the food. Today is 1/18/2023. We read good reviews about this place and wanted to try it. Stopped by three days in a row since arriving on the island and found it closed. But Google Maps shows it's open. Finally we asked the shop next door what the deal is and were told that they were closed for a few weeks. Katie: This is not how you run a business. As a courtesy to your customers, at a minimum posting a note on the door would be nice to let people know your status.

One of the nice, easygoing restaurants near the harbor. It’s never too crowded, so you can enjoy a quiet meal every time you visit. Sitting on the terrace is especially nice with a pleasant outdoor view. The food is generally quite good. I ordered hot tea, but they only gave a few tea bags with hot water — it felt a bit overpriced for what it was.

The service was good. The drink was good. Had a cool ocean breeze coming through the window. The breakfast burrito did lack some flavor, but at least you could tell that it was fresh, never frozen though. Omar was awesome and it is a great place to unwind for a second before continuing about your day

Entry felt too noisy with public crawls..but we were guided to the 3rd level..amazing views..great weather..we were served by Fidel...who was awesome. It was easy to order even as a vegetarian...The mushroom soup was creamy and tasty..garlic bread was good...salad with ceasers dressing was OK...for non vegetarian.. sword fish ruled ...grilled sandwich too was nice e. A chocolate pastry complimentary for son's birthday was icing on the cake..superb..great footfalls and appreciation

Fantastic restaurant with a great ocean view if you sit outside. We both ordered the surf and turn steak/lobster and it was incredible. Our server/bartender Omar was amazing! He was very welcoming and warm, is a local to the island and has lived there his entire life. He truly elevated the experience and took great care of us. Highly recommend this place for a nice dinner on the island

Such a pretty place for such a bad experience. I don’t knew why staff looks at you weird when you walk into the restaurant. They do disappear for a 20 min between drinks and food orders even though they only had about 3 tables occupied with about 3or4 people each. All I ordered was a Caesar salad and fried pickles and the dough from the pickles was raw on the inside and the Cesar salad had so much water in it that I tasted like just that WATER Also this was a $4 coke $8 pickles $16 salad +tax+18-%tip= $41 …

Amazed by the food we had here. Best surf and turf i have ever had and the presentation was off the charts. My boyfriend got the Dark Seas pasta and that also did not miss. Also shared the Broiled scallops for appetizer. We will be returning on our next trip to Avalon!!!

We visited NDMK twice during our 5-day stay on Catalina and had a very pleasant experience both times. The food is good, the views are great (especially from the rooftop dining/seating area), but what really made it special was the top-notch service by Omar (bartender, waiter, and very pleasant soul)! He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and well attended to. And his "near-beer" drink is one of the best drinks we've ever had and our new all-time favorite! Omar rocks! We'll definitely be back!
