If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Hampton, look no further than Venture Kitchen & Bar. This contemporary American kitchen is renowned for its gourmet brick-oven pizzas and an enticing array of tapas that are perfect for sharing with loved ones. The menu is a creative showcase of unique dishes crafted by a talented culinary team, ensuring there's something to please every palate.
This is my all-time favorite restaurant in Hampton. I have literally never ordered anything from this place that I have not thoroughly enjoyed. Their house tots are the bomb, I highly recommend starting with those, from there they have a study menu of delicious food and a rotating weekly specials menu that I usually order from because I love trying all of the new things that they create. They also do a weekly specials pizza if you wanna try something unique. They offer specials throughout the week and on Mondays they have six dollar martinis and half price pizza of the week when you dine in, if you’re a on a budget. The prices here are a little bit high, but the food is worth it and the portion sizes are huge. The atmosphere is cozy and I love taking family and friends here when they come to visit. You will not regret visiting, guaranteed. And if you don’t enjoy it, don’t come for me. It’s not my fault that you have bad taste. Enjoy this photo dump of all of the photos. I’ve remembered to take it before I ate the food over the years. But sometimes I eat it too fast because it just is that dang delicious. Run to Venture Kitchen!

A couple friends and I visited Venture Kitchen & Bar for the first time on Mother's Day for brunch and this may be my new favorite brunch spot on the Peninsula. We arrived just after 10AM and there was no wait so we got a booth right away by the Kitchen. We ordered alcohol and a basket of breads/pastries to share along with our meals which all came out in a timely fashion. The drinks were incredible! The bread basket was a Mother's Day special and SO good. Our food came out shortly after and oh my goodness, what a delicious meal! We all agreed we would be back again. Our service, food and drinks were all top notch! We also kept seeing other dishes coming out of the kitchen and it all looked amazing.

Nicole the bartender was awesome and reinforced my menu choices. She was right. They were awesome! Although there were plenty of things meat, lover options, it was nice to see some vegetarian and vegan fare that was spectacularly tasty! Had the veggie dumplings and the green goddess pizza. Bright, spicy, and oh so good!

Great menu - creative chef. Ordered a bowl of chowder & the short rib meat poutine over sweet potatoes and cheese curds (delicious). I would normally recommend and give more stars, however I got food poisoning I believe from the bowl of lobster & corn chowder. What an awful overnight sickness 🤮

This place was my new favorite place in Hampton until the bartender tried to teach me why I should enjoy soggy pizza. And how much the pizza oven cost. I'm going back to Mama Rosa's where they know how to treat people, and they can make a good pizza. And they have bourbon. I was doing my job as a customer. I'm sorry I expected you to stand in your position as someone charging me for sloppy service. And soggy food . I intentionally did not leave a tip because of the service, and they decided to tip themselves $20.00 i usually tip the bill but in this case, there's a loss of trust here that goes way beyond good or bad pizza. I've contacted my bank as of now... I'll be processing a criminal complaint tomorrow, and you're not allowed to tip yourself because you feel justified.. I hope they give you a free sharpie.

Best spot we’ve tried down town Hampton. Perfect date night when there is live music. Good drink selection and rotating specials. Wish we got to try the lobster ravioli. I wish I could do 4.5 for food. I don’t know if could improve on my order. The food offered just couldn’t be a 5…

This was one of our favorite places - until tonight!!! Ice tea was just water!!! Onion rings came on a plate filled with grease at the bottom. Very disappointing!!!
Nancy H — Google review
This small restaurant and bar is one of the best places I have dined at. The professional, yet laid back atmosphere is welcoming and comforting. The tables are comfortable and spacious. The service is excellent: Friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and accommodating. But it was, by far, the food that stood out at this place. The infamous in house tots absolutely lived up to their reputation. For my dinner, I had the pizza special, Three Little Jerks, and it was wonderful. The slightly crispy crust pairs well with the mixes of fresh cheeses and quality toppings. When they first gave me my pizza, I thought it was too much for me to eat. I had to stop myself, but it tasted so good, I could have easily eaten the entire thing. The finale was, of course, the dessert. The Brown Butter cake was heaven in my mouth. The caramel gelato mixed with the moist sweet butter cake was a delightful combination. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Every thing about it is 5 star. If you are trying to find a place to eat go to this restaurant and enjoy.

Seafood restaurant
Marker 20 is a casual establishment that offers American cuisine, including seafood, and has a fully stocked bar with outdoor seating on the deck. Customers can enjoy watching sports on TV and listening to live music while indulging in their meals. One of the standout dishes at Marker 20 is the Andouille sausage and chicken pasta, which is served with sun-dried tomatoes, asparagus, and a delightful cheese cream sauce. Another popular option is the shrimp po-boy sandwich accompanied by fries.
Came here for dinner, we had the tortilla chips and queso to start, then the fish and chips. The fish and chips are not as stated on their menu with thick cut fries, they were cut thin and circular. They were ok but not as said on their menu, I'd rather have had their regular fries if I'd known. Good food and service, rather sit outside than in. Parking is a little difficult at times and we ended up a few blocks away. All in all a good place and would come back.

What a bacteria ridden nightmare. It's our fault really, by the time we sat and ordered food, we realized that it was a serious dive. The tables were disgusting and filled with old food particles, there was fruit flies, and the putrid smell of unkempt drains/vomit. If you're oung trying to drink and find a one night stand... shoot your shot, but if you're trying to have a meal and some drinks, run! There's a million other places better. The only reason we found ourselves there was Bull Island closed at 10pm

My boyfriend and I have lived in Hampton basically our entire lives but just started frequenting this bar the last year/year and a half. It’s very mom and pop like, a Hampton gem if you’re from our tiny city! We are always served by Melinda who is SO good at her job, she doesn’t even have to ask us what we want! She just knows and it is so nice and refreshing to have someone like that, which makes our visits all the more fun. The drinks are always good and so is the food! I usually get the wrap (you can ask for ranch instead, lol) and my boyfriend gets half and half wings. The servers are always so kinda and fun and honestly without them and the same regulars we recognize every week, it just wouldn’t be Marker 20. It is NOT a chain bar so don’t come expecting the atmosphere of one! It is in Old Hampton, a city characterized by lots of history! The bar very much gives that feel. If you ever decide to check it out, PLEASE request Melinda. You won’t have to wonder if the service will be good and if you’ll want to go back! Because of her, our visits have created memories I’ll cherish for the rest of my life!!!!!!

My husband and I visit Marker 20 regularly. It’s always an amazing atmosphere, food is hot and delicious, drinks are cold and delicious, service is always outstanding. I love the Chicken Philly. Seriously, I don’t think I even chew. I inhale it like a hoover. My husband loves the steamed shrimp. If you don’t visit you are missing out. Get in the car right now, and go!! It does not disappoint!!

I just want to say I am in love! I came here a little while ago for a beer, but did not get the food. However the food is decently priced, large portions, and overall absolutely delicious 🤤! My server Kayla took care of me and made sure my table had everything we needed. They have an outdoor patio that is large in size to practice social distancing but still quaint enough you don’t feel alone. They have a ton of events and, I heard a blues band would be playing tonight. I am sad I can’t make it but will come back to take a look at the music 🎶 vendors they have. If you go in ask for Kayla or Kyle! They both were phenomenal. We got both pastas, the chicken tender meal, and also the chicken Caesar wrap. All items were delicious and I love that they partner with the Sly Clyde brewery, and have their beer on tap! Such a great local spot. Check it out and you won’t miss it!

What a hidden gem in downtown Hampton! Marker 20 has an awesome vibe — laid-back, welcoming, and full of energy. We had a great time with amazing food, cold drinks, and an incredible live band that really brought the place to life. The atmosphere was the perfect mix of fun and relaxed, and the staff made sure everyone felt right at home. Whether you're there for the music, the seafood, or just a good time with friends, Marker 20 delivers. Can’t wait to go back!

DO NOT come here unless you want to get yelled at by your server :) i just got married and the night before our wedding my husband and i just wanted to do something casual with our friends. after some googling found this place, had never been, and it looked like it could be a good spot for us. boy were we wrong! when we arrived it was drizzling a little bit and their staff let us know that the only place they could fit our party (12 of us) would be outside in their COVERED patio. we of course said that was fine, sat down, and ordered drinks and food. shortly after we got our drinks the rain started coming down heavier and the cover over the patio clearly was not rain proof as we and our table and drinks started getting SOAKED. we decided to walk inside to see if there was another solution or place for us to sit to which our server (blonde woman, 40s-50s) immediately started screaming at us in front of all the other patrons inside the restaurant because we “knew it was raining”, which yes we did but we assumed that since they were seating us on the patio even with the rain we wouldn’t be getting soaking wet outside. we proceeded to explain that since there wasn’t a place for us inside and it was now impossible to eat outside (tables and chairs were also soaked at this point) that we would just cancel our food, pay for our drinks, and try to find somewhere else. our server, continuing to yell at us, says that we have to pay for our food even though we hadn’t received it yet and had no where to eat it. this went on for about 20 minutes. we had no idea what to do as we didn’t want to leave without paying but didn’t understand why we were being forced to pay for food we had never received and could not sit to eat in the restaurant. our server continued to walk around the restaurant yelling about how terrible we were. mind you, i and many of my friends that were in attendance work in the restaurant business as servers and bartenders, and were trying to be as kind as possible but could not imagine EVER speaking to a customer in the way that she was. eventually the bartender on shift (may have been a manager) got involved, there was space for us to sit in a party room the entire time so we agreed to sit and eat our food since we were being forced to pay for it either way. while i will say that the bartender took much better care of us, no apology was made for the treatment we received and we still paid full price for all of our food. it was an absolutely insane experience and i would recommend not wasting your time going here when the people are terrible to their customers. it was a horrible way to start off the night before our wedding. if you need somewhere fun to eat- go to park lane tavern. we went after and were promptly sat and had the BEST service ever. i’m thankful they actually took care of us and made us feel so special!

We had a great experience on our first visit starting with walking into BCBC and being greeted by the bartender with ‘Welcome Friends’! We arrived shortly after they opened at 11:00 on a Thursday for brunch! I had the burger of the week, a smash burger served inside 2 waffles along with a fried egg, bacon & cheese! So yummy with syrup for dipping! Hubs had the unholy hen sandwich, it’s the hot version of their holy hen sandwich, he likes heat & spice with his food so perfect for him! We recommend you pay the $1 extra for the onion rings and sweet potato fries, so delish! I enjoyed a blueberry lemon drop martini and hubs had a beer, the martini was flavorful, light & refreshing. We received great service from Anneka whom was knowledgeable and gave good recommendations! We’ll be back!
Dawn C — Google review
My first impression of this place is that the atmosphere and decor is pretty good. However, we had to fight flies that would circle our food during our time eating (we were eating indoors). I got the sticky fingers burger with two smashed patties. Usually smash burgers have thinner crispy edges, but my burger didn’t, it was just regular thinner patties. They forgot the habanero sauce on the burger too…and without the sauce, the burger was a little bland. The beer cheese mac and cheese was worth the extra cost to upgrade, highly recommend to try it. The service overall wasn’t very great either. We waited and felt ignored for most of our dining experience. We waited well over 20 minutes to get our check, and no one came by to refill our drinks. On a good note, the bathrooms were clean. Overall, I don’t think we will be coming back to this place :/
Hannah C — Google review
Been there a few times now, nice place. Breakfast on a Saturday is pretty slammed, so service was a bit slow, but understandable. Lunch and dinner was. great. Sat out front on the new King's Way dining area, watched a singer perform, great service, even with all the activity downtown. Had a monsters BBQ sandwich that was absolutely killer.
Sam B — Google review
The food was amazing! The only thing that was a miss for me was the mac and cheese, it needed more flavor in my opinion. But the spicy burger was fantastic! Great texture and flavor. I got a summer slushie alcoholic beverage and it was delicious as well. My friends waffle fries were on point, too, so I'll be getting those instead of the mac next time. We got the brownie for dessert and it was literally the best brownie dessert I've ever tasted. A crunch on the outside and so soft and gooey on the inside. I've been thinking about that brownie for a whole week after I went there! I also tried an orange soda float which was so good, too! Our hostess was a sweetheart and server was as well. I'll definitely be coming back for more soon!
Isabel G — Google review
I’m going to be honest. But this was really unfortunate because we live essentially across the street and frequent the bars there. Someone saw this and thought, let me give someone a burnt cinnamon roll? why though? :/ . I was really looking forward to the cinnamon roll dessert, but it’s inedible. Hard as a rock. I knew it was burnt from the smell before I even opened it. So disappointing

Graham and Tyson were AMAZE BALLS. If you’re not getting your drinks from Tyson and Graham at Brown Chicken Brown Cow, what are you even doing with your life?! I walked in for a meal and left emotionally attached to two bartenders and the most pieces of brisket. Graham mixes drinks like he's auditioning for Top Gun: Bartender Edition — fast, smooth, and slightly dangerous. That man could talk you into anything — even ordering something called “liquid marijuana”… which turned out to be the best decision of my life. It's green. It's glorious. It's like a tropical vacation slapped your taste buds and gave you a high five on the way out. Now let’s talk BRISKET. When you get the right cut — and trust me, you’ll know when you do — it’s like a smoky hug from a cow that lived a really good life. Juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. Don’t mess around with the wrong slice though… that’s like asking Tyson for water (rude). Bottom line: Come for the drinks, stay for the brisket, and leave questioning your loyalty to any other establishment. Tyson and Graham, y’all better put me on the VIP list… or at least name a cocktail after me. Preferably one involving meat. Or green stuff. Or both.

Paradise Ocean Club is a seafood-centric bar and grill that offers a seasonal swimming pool and a private beach area. Visitors have praised the cleanliness of the venue, ample beach seating with umbrellas, and friendly staff. The club attracts a diverse crowd with live music featuring jazzy Motown and 60s covers, encouraging both older and younger couples to dance. While there is an entry fee, it provides access to the beach for the day.
My family and I always have a great time at Paradise Ocean Club. Great staff, food and non-alcohol drinks. Beach area is always clean. Life guards on duty at the pool. We rented a Cabana for the day. Our waitress Maria was very accommodating and checked in with us often. Kids can’t wait to go back!
Shenise L — Google review
I'd recommend going here with friends and going early to get an umbrella and chair. The bar is busy and it takes staff quite a while to see you. They seemed focused on the couples and groups. Drinks are reasonably priced but with the gratuity it gets a little ridiculous. The beach is nice and clean and the live music is lovely. I didn't eat at the restaurant but I heard good things.
Mary P — Google review
Had a nice experience at the Beach club located on the old fort Monroe site. You can either swim at the beach or the large pool.. there is a nice bar and pool side food area. (Food is a little pricey we are pizza before coming) My kids loved the pool and diving on the deep end. It was not to crowded the day we went and our pool facilitator Zack was very nice and helpful. The only negative experience we had was on Sundays (the day we were there) after 3pm is adult only in the pool are. Not all but some of the staff were rude when they told you to leave the pool area. We were gathering up our items but one life guard rudely said you need to leave now. Other than that was a pleasant day

Had a blast here! Rented a cabana with some friends, ordered lunch and everything was delicious. The cabana comes stocked with water in a mini fridge and you get complimentary chips and salsa. We were close to the ocean but not too close as well as close to the other things provided.

Everything was very nice and the food was good. Because I have had some nasty chicken tenders and fries and shrimp from other establishments that will have you questioning the kitchen.
LATOYA J — Google review
I want to update my review of Paradise Ocean Club at Ft. Monroe because the management truly stepped up after my initial concerns. My wife and her adult children were celebrating her birthday, and at first, the experience was overshadowed by music that was too loud for the atmosphere. At the time, it felt like our concerns were being dismissed, and I left disappointed. However, after I posted my review, management reached out right away. They explained that the DJ had in fact been asked to lower the volume by the general manager, but they were unaware that my wife still felt ignored in the moment. More importantly, they offered a sincere apology and even refunded part of the cabana cost to make things right. That level of follow-up shows integrity and a commitment to their customers. I’ve been around long enough to know that things don’t always go perfectly in any business. What matters most is how management responds when a guest feels unheard, and Paradise Ocean Club responded with professionalism and respect. They didn’t have to go the extra step, but they did. Because of this, I want to sincerely thank them for making amends and for valuing their guests. That kind of customer service earns my respect, and I look forward to giving them another chance in the future.

Restaurant
Surf Rider is a laid-back, Southern-inspired restaurant with a focus on seafood and nautical-themed decor. The place offers beautiful views of the dock and passing boats. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, with friendly and helpful staff. Customers praise the fresh and delicious seafood, particularly highlighting the She-crab soup and Fried Seafood Plate. Despite some seating policies, patrons appreciate the great food, clean environment, and attentive service at Surf Rider.
The seafood served here is fresh and cooked perfectly. They are very generous with crab meat. The crab cakes are almost all crab meat unlike some restaurants where they are mostly breading. I enjoyed the broiled seafood platter which included shrimp, flounder, scallops, and a crab cake. I also enjoyed the potato cake. It is made with shredded potatoes instead of mashed and they are mixed with cheese and served with sour cream. The restaurant is located right on the water. I highly recommend it.

first time here, beautiful restaurant, right on the water with the tremendous view of the water as well. recommend the calamari really good. had the shrimp pasta tasted good. The Alfredo sauce is a little watery, but still good. beer prices are very cheap. They have a full bar come on down great bar prices.

Came for lunch and it was a great experience! Tori was our waitresss and she was attentive and communicated well! The Sweet & Spicy Chicken appetizer was amazing, chicken was light, moist and crispy! The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was hearty and flavorful, as well as the tater tots! The Seafood Surf Rider was also excellent, smaller portions than I expected but still a great choice!

Such great food and drinks. The best view. I love coming here.
Francesca S — Google review
While Surf Rider boasts excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere, its menu has remained stagnant for years, presenting challenges for health-conscious diners due to the lack of flexibility in side dish options. Addressing this issue by offering heart-healthy alternatives to the heavy-handed pushing of fries and fried potato tots would elevate Surf Rider to the top spot among its peers in the Hampton Roads area.
Scott S — Google review
Very good seafood restaurant. A little out of way for me, but that doesn’t stop me. Their clam strip is a must try. I haven’t find any clam strips near me that are as good as theirs, and that’s saying something. Most of the restaurants’ clam strip taste like fried rubber bands. And their steamed shrimp is also very good. Good size and portion. Actually, I would recommend any of their seafood dishes.

Great service from friendly staff. Burgers: banging Fried Seafood: banging Fish tacos: lacking the flavors you would expect from an authentic fish taco. Where's the cilantro, pico de gallo, acidity? No idea, but I know where it's not, these tacos

The only thing that's really annoying if half your party isn't there they will not sit you, so there's no point getting there early if your friends are late, I don't agree with this policy but we still got seated because we were there at open. Honestly though if all the tables with views were taken and we couldn't sit at a window, we would've left and found ourselves at a different place. The service was good, our server was really sweet. I didn't even realize my broccoli portion was by what they said small and they tried to make up for it by then I was already so full though. The food is amazing and beautiful well worth every penny. I got the flounder that was topped with a she crab soup omg it was delicious. The mimosas are reasonably priced and equally as delicious. All and all great clean place to enjoy a beautiful view and great food. Highly recommended

Whether you're enjoying a meal with family, friends, or that special someone, The Deadrise offers an inviting atmosphere complemented by outdoor seating options.
The food was excellent! Service was great even if the kitchen seemed a bit backed up. It was worth it though as the crab cakes were plentiful and loaded with crab! Nice thick tuna steaks as well and cooked perfectly. Great sunsets to boot, we will most certainly be back.

Well I finally found what I was looking for. The best she crab soup in Hampton Roads. I planned to have dinner at the Deadrise restaurant on Fort Monroe then watch the fireworks. Thinking of the crowds and the waiting to get back home I decided to have an early dinner then get out of dodge before the shooting started. Parking was easy but there were only a few people in the restaurant at 4 o’clock. Had to pause to admire the view of the marina and the daunting stair case. There’s a nice covered outside seating area. Inside was nice and cool. Not a very big place. The friendly waiter at the bar got me going with a drink and the shrimp cocktail arrive in a few minutes. Nice and fresh with a kicking cocktail sauce. Possibly the best shrimp yet on this visit. Chatted with the waiter about the old Painted Lady and my introduction to she crab soup. Well this is the closest yet. Flavorful base with lots of crab meat. Not to thick like all the rest have been. Came with a nice chunk of fresh bread instead of the ubiquitous oyster crackers. Didn’t try the key lime pie till the next morning and it was great even then. Highly recommend trying this place ! Oh, Noticed the small elevator on my drive out. Not sure if it’s for the restaurant or not. Best to check if you might need it 🤔

My husband and I stumbled upon this place while in the Hampton area for a conference, and we were blown away. We expected the beautiful view and relaxed vibes to come at the cost of mediocre food, but we couldn’t have been more wrong. The seafood was absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and easily the best we've had in a long time. Plus, the portions were generous and matched the quality perfectly. We were so pleasantly surprised and have already decided we’ll be coming back every single year. This spot is a must-visit!

Food is delicious, scenery is great. It was an hour wait, buy it was worth it. Will be back! The tuna bits were some of the best I ever had. I also had buffalo shrimp and crab dip, which was all delicious. As you can see most of it had to be pack because it was plentiful!

Waterfront dining without the fine-dining fuss! We arrived during golden hour and waited outside for a table — the view was absolutely gorgeous and made the time pass quickly. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to eat outside, but it was pretty busy, so we understood. Inside is casual and a little noisy, but not in an unpleasant way — just the sound of people enjoying themselves over good food. We loved the flavor-packed She Crab Soup. This one was different from most I’ve had — just a kick of spice instead of the sweeter versions I’m used to, and we really enjoyed the change. The crab dip was insane. The menu said it came with Ritz crackers, but they must have upgraded this night because we got fried pita instead — and it was amazing. Big, plentiful lumps of crab made it even better. For my entrée, I ordered the seafood nachos because I’m obsessed with both nachos and seafood — so why not? Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. Everything but the seafood itself was prepared well, but the seafood was really dark and soft, and the texture and taste just weren’t what I expected. My fiancé ordered the fried shrimp and absolutely loved her meal. Our server was friendly, attentive, and quick with drink refills. All in all, we’ll definitely be back — but next time I’ll skip the nachos and stick to that fantastic soup and crab dip.

This restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating by the marina. I usually order some crab dip when I see it on the menu, and theirs was good! The crab stuffed flounder was a big serving, so my husband only ate half of it at the restaurant, and I had the rest for dinner...it was delicious!

I’ve been coming to Dead Rise whenever I can for over 6 years. The menu has always offered a nice variety to satisfy seafood cravings, and the views outside are always beautiful. The fans, the atmosphere—it’s always been an amazing vibe. I’ve never had an issue with service. In fact, my service today was top tier as always. But the food quality has significantly declined. I paid $36 for a dish that had no more than 4 shrimp, which were heavily peppered and soaked in butter. The crab and scallops were also disappointing. The vegetables tasted like they came straight from a frozen bag, and the potatoes had no flavor at all—no seasoning, nothing. I didn’t even finish my meal. I just asked for a box so I could take it home and season it myself. While sitting outside, two different groups leaving asked me how my meal was. I told them it wasn’t as good as it used to be—and they agreed, sharing that they had to send some food back. At the end of the day, I feel like I only paid for the service and the atmosphere, not the food. Really, really disappointed because this used to be one of my favorite spots.

One of the best views in Hampton/Fort Monroe and I always forget about It. If you are a fan of outdoor dining, this os right on a marina with views of the HRBT. The outdoor seats aren't the most comfy, but the food is outstanding. It sounded pretty loud inside. Probably the best crispy clam strips I've ever had. We shared the 2 seafood combo and had amazing flounder and shrimp (we added the clam strips as an app.) Everything was fantastic.

What a wonderful experience ❤️ My husband and I were greeted with a wonderful and friendly attitude from the host. The waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable about their food served at the restaurant. WOW the food was absolutely delicious! Family friendly restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere and it's not too noisey. The price was reasonable too. We will definitely be coming back when we visit the area! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant if your looking for some DELICIOUS BBQ ❤️

This was my first visit and I must say, I was impressed. We started with some corn muffins, which had a hint of sweetness and were served with a generous dollop of butter. Then I had a catfish sandwich and the fish was bigger than my hand. It was moist and flaky ... and the coating was crispy, crunchy and delicious. It was served on a toasted roll with lettuce and tomato. The fries were hot and had a special touch which added an extra level of crispness to them. The coleslaw was tasty as well, with just the right amount of moisture. The portions were good sized and the food was very good. My dad had the barbecue pork sandwich and was equally impressed with the flavor. The pork was shredded but also included large chunks. He sampled the various sauces provided on the table as well. I could tell he was pleased with his choice of sides, as both dishes were empty (coleslaw and baked beans). Our waitress was kind and helpful and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting.

SIDES ARE AN UPCHARGE!!! I'll start by saying the food is great and the service is pretty decent. I enjoyed the Brisket Platter and my wife got the Mississippi peace maker. Both were good and came out really fast. HOWEVER, the menu and wait staff are not honest about the sides and their additional cost. You already paying a high price for bbq and then they want to tack on an additional charge for every side we got. The menu does not mention any up charges and clearly stated ANY two sides for the platter. The waitress also mentioned nothing of the upcharge. It is not at all about the money and I happily paid the additional 3.25 upcharge even though they did offer to take it off. This is a dishonest, misleading and deceitful way to do business decided by management and not mitigated by the wait staff. My hope is that management reads this and at least decides to disclose this upfront to it's customers in the future. Most people will not mind paying the money for a premium side but some may....They should know the prices when ordering, not get a gotcha when the check comes. Doing it in a misleading way discourages customers from coming back when the rug is pulled out from under them when they never minded paying it to begin with. Not worth it! I have added photos of their menu and our check.

The smoked sausage and smoked wings were phenomenal! The sausage was perfectly seasoned with a deep, smoky flavor and just the right snap with each bite. As for the wings—tender, juicy, and packed with bold, smoky goodness. You can tell they were cooked low and slow with care. Everything was bursting with flavor, and the smokiness wasn’t overpowering—it was just right. If you’re a fan of BBQ or smoked meats, this is a must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Stopped in for dinner, was pretty busy for a weeknight but we got a table within 10 minutes. Our server was very friendly and helpful recommendations. they're known for smoked meats so we got the 3 meat combo with pork shoulder, chicken, and beef brisket. All three with delicious, not dry or over cooked. We tried all five BBQ sauce flavors and liked the Carolina Gold and Lexington sauces the best. Mac and cheese and Cole slaw were also delicious. Wide selection of draft beers and cocktails. Will definitely be stopping in again! Prices are fair for the quality and quantity of food, our order was enough to share comfortably with leftovers.

Ummm. Oi. Ok so it's an incredible place. The food is amazing, the drinks are wonderful and the sides are great. BUT, we went to lunch at 11:15 *they open at 11* We tried to order an appetizer. We were told they they didnt have any pita chips. Ok, no issue. We tried to order the fries... they didn't have fries. We were told the night before was busy and they didn't have fries or chips. Ok, so then we tried to order some drinks we were told the draft list wasn't "ready" so we said ok.. what kind of bloody Mary's do you have? We were able to get a drink and then ordered our lunch. But no fries. I tried to order a prickly pear margarita since it was on their "drink menu" not speciality JUST regular drink menu. She came back yet again and said "we don't have the prickly pear mix but I can add another flavor?" For a $67 meal with 2 drinks..... And being told the kitchen was out of basic sides and drinks. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that Saturday was just so busy that they didn't have time to have someone get fries or chips to be able to have meal sides and apps ready. The food was really good and I appreciate our waitress doing the best she could.

Food is always on point. Complimentary cornbread muffins, good eats. However their sides are always a hit or miss for me. Host was friendly, server Josh excellent, management came over to make sure we were getting taken care of, and bathroom clean. They have THEE best ranch! Summer time so someone let on an annoying fly. Will always go back

Nestled in a charming, old-school setting, Tommy's Restaurant is a beloved family-owned diner that captures the essence of American comfort food. Known for its hearty breakfast and lunch offerings, this eatery serves up generous portions of classic dishes made from fresh ingredients. Guests can indulge in mouthwatering omelettes, fluffy pancakes, and satisfying breakfast sandwiches to kickstart their day. For lunch enthusiasts, the menu features delightful seafood options like fried shrimp and catfish tacos.
A great place to stop for a well-made and classic diner breakfast if in the Hampton, VA area. The decor is classic and the staff is very friendly. The food is the star, and I especially enjoyed the pancakes in my house special combo. It's worth noting this place only takes cash, and when I visited, their in-house ATM machine was not working. But definitely worth a stop if in the area for breakfast.

My first time eating at this restaurant and probably my last😅 I ordered catfish with two sides. The fish comes with hush puppies. You don’t see them because they came after I was done eating 😭. Also when you order catfish it usually come with 1 1/2 pieces of fish, my other half came when I was about done eating the whole fish😅. The sides were pretty decent. When it came time to check out this place only takes cash😭😭😭 apparently there’s a sigh about this at the entrance oh and let me add they have their own ATM🤣🤣🤣 So yeah very inconvenient and you’d think the waitress or someone would have said this when we were ordering but there was a guy named Benjamin who let me and my colleague Chime him and he gave us cash… So thanks Benjamin but I most definitely will not be dining here again

Absolutely delicious. The building itself on the inside has so much character it’s adorable. The staff are excellent and the food, OMG it is incredible. The biscuits to start were homemade- thick fluffy and melted in your mouth. The main course, I ordered the country fried pork chops and they were splendid. The batter was thick and crispy and stayed on the pork chop when you cut it and it was seasoned perfectly. I ordered a side of gravy to dip and it was 10/10. The eggs were light and fluffy and full of flavor. Everything was just delicious. We live about 3.5 hours away but would come here on a weekend getaway and eat here time and time again.

I have eaten here a few times but not since they reopened. This was my boyfriend’s first time. He was eager to try it since I was raving so much about the place. The decor is typical of a diner. Reminds me of grandma’s kitchen growing up. The kitchen is right there so you can see everything cooked to order. The menu is wonderful and I love the fact you can have breakfast, lunch and or diner food. Tommy’s is a cash only establishment. It states that right on the front door. They also have an ATM in the lobby/waiting area. There are table and chairs and they do have a room for a banquet or large event.. Our server was an absolute gem. She was very attentive but not too overbearing. It was so hard to decide what to eat but I ended up choosing the “Breakfast from the grill” - 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and then two sides and french toast. I had no idea that it came with all of that! I’m very picky about my eggs and they were the perfect over medium. I also ordered brown gravy for my hashbrowns. My boyfriend ordered the 2 eggs with 2 country fried bone in pork chops. That also came with 1 side and toast or biscuit. You get very reasonable portions for the price. I would be surprised if someone didn’t end up taking home left overs. We went during a weekday. If you go on a weekend I highly suggest you get there when it opens. The line forms out the door and the parking lot will be full. But it is worth the wait! The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the floor is sticky but other than that - well exceeds standards.

Heard about this place for years and decided to stop by while I was in the area. They take cash only and there’s an ATM inside. The food was kinda bland but decent portion for what you pay. Waitress was very sweet and provided great service. My food came out in less than 10 minutes. There were mostly regulars that knew each other and the waitstaff. Wasn’t what everyone raves about but cool if you want a lot of food for cheap.

I came with me & my bf and everything was okay. Before we even came in the parking lot was packed so we thought we was finna grubbbbb. When we came in they had a thing that said cash only but they had an atm right at the door so we was good. We was waiting for a good minute for someone to even take our order & drinks. But they were asking us as they walked by to attend other ppl and our waiter was really sweet and apologetic about it. I did not get her name but she made sure to make sure we were good. I got the eggs, bacon, sausage patty, grits & i got pancakes he got French toast. The waiter we had was really sweet, and she was considerate. I asked for cheese on my eggs and I think there was bc I saw a small piece of cheese in it but it didn’t taste like there was cheese and they had little to no flavor and were dry. the grits, eggs had no flavor. I’m also really picky with my eggs tho so maybe it’s js me but it just wasn’t good. The fried apples had too much nutmeg and cinnamon. It was no sweetness js the flavor. I added sugar to it and it did get a tad better but all that nutmeg was throwing it off. This seems like a good spot to go with your family, but not for good eats. The pancakes and the bacon were really good tho. I added some whipped cream on my pancake and it was good. I got me some apple juice also to drink and I’m ngl that juice had me NEEDING to check my blood pressure lol. It was extremely sweet. This is a good place but if I was to ever come back I would edit my order a lot to make it taste better than what it was. Or I’ll just pay attention to see who in the kitchen cs not everybody know how to put love in every dish they make.
Miyah C — Google review
I heard great things about this diner, and it generally has excellent reviews. Maybe I went on an off day? The food was inedible for the most part. I enjoyed the buttered toast they handed out in lieu of biscuits, and the french toast was tasty enough, though nothing special. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese in them and could not recognize them as eggs when they arrived. They tasted and had the consistency of powdered eggs, which I hope they were because if not then something went really wrong. Sausage patties were small and hard. The hash browns weren't too bad. Fried apples were fried to the point that they near gelatinous by the time they were served. I could literally see through them. Everything was drenched in grease. The waitress was attentive and decent, and the staff was kind. I got the feeling that I didn't want to see what the kitchen looked like through. Overall, I felt like this must be a diner that's charm is firmly placed in local nostalgia. Cash only so heads up before going there.

Circa 1918 is pure perfection and I can't believe I was honored enough to get a reservation there on a Saturday night! This restaurant is located on a little cute strip, filled with vintage looking shops. It's cozy on the outside and in the inside. The ambiance at night is giving romantic date night. It's a pretty tight space but it gives an intimate feel. I personally love that. I went here because one of my friends said that it is his favorite restaurant. He explained how their menu frequently changes and is chef-curated. He really hyped it up. And the experience I had here with friends really lived up to the hype!! Immediately waking up, the hostess greeted us with upbeat and high energy and she quickly seated us as well. The hostess also ended up being our waitress. She was very well-informed and knew the food and drinks like the back of her hand. I'm always impressed when waitstaff know what they're talking about because I've been in their shoes before. So I know the work it takes to get like that. We started with a house appetizer. I don't remember what it was exactly but it was all beautifully topped on a slice of naan. It really started off the night on a great note. Our appetizers were the charred octopus, beef gyoza, and the fried oysters. Our drinks were excellent craft cocktails that I don't remember the names of. But each one was gorgeous and delicious! Next up, we had the grilled asiago bread, bison meatloaf, pan seared duck breast, and the seared jumbo sea scallops. Goodness. Not a single disappointment in any of these dishes that I listed. Maybe one disappointment is that I couldn't have unlimited charred octopus and duck breast... LOL. I often get lost in thinking about the charred octopus here. It was crispy on the outside with the perfect amount of char, but yet it was soft and tender in the inside. I got my duck cooked at medium rare. The duck breast melted in my mouth. I didn't want the experience to end. Overall, this place is absolutely worth the hype and is all the rage. I'm 1000000% coming back here when I'm back in town again.

If you want an elevated dining experience but still kinda casual with the best tasting meals, definitely check this place out. I forgot what the starter was. Then we got the charred octopus and frisee salad (not pictured) both amazing. Porkchop was a special for the night. It was the most tender pork ive ever had. It almost tasted like beef. The sweet potato sauce was probably the best sauce I ever had. My husband really enjoyed his lamb. We'll be back again

We’ve been here three times now and each time has been terrific. The food is amazing every single time and presented beautifully while still giving you a normal amount of food (looking at you, other nice restaurants serving plates with one bite worth of food). Drinks, appetizers, and desserts are great too! A bit on the pricier side but it’s totally worth it for the high quality food that you get.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! Our server was Kat and she was a delight. Her energy matched ours. She was new and learning the menu but was excellent. IIf she didn't know she found out to answer all our questions. All of the staff we encountered were great. The menu features brunch, lunch and dinner. We arrived for lunch and each ordered the Cobb salad which included grilled chicken for only $16. An awesome price. We also had the Belle Isle Lavender Lemonade. Delicious. A sparkling wine and lavender vodka that was so refreshing. We also had appetizers crab dip and fried oysters which I don't partake of but the crab dip was delicious. Served hot with fried pita bread rounds which was everything to me. Now I will say though I don't eat oysters they looked so good I was tempted to try them, but I didn't. 😊Now let's talk about the restaurant itself. Beautiful. It is large has a separate room that you could probably have a separate gathering. We loved the bathrooms. Each were themed, clean and all very nice. It has an atmosphere of date night, girls night or hanging with the fellas. Now it's also for family but I don't think the kiddos would care to be there long. But if family friendly. Right next door is the market which features home baked goodies, breads, wines and oddities. I purchased the magic bar, brownie and oatmeal cookie. They are huge and homemade. Can't wait to try them. Our time at the Grey Goose was a total experience not just a meal. We will definitely be coming back.

We really enjoyed our dinner! Our server, Casey, was attentive and friendly. The chicken with grits and collards was on point. The salmon with kale was also delicious. Both dishes cooked to perfection. We came on a tues night to celebrate a special occasion and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Trivia was happening in the back room but did not disturb our dining experience at all. Look forward to our next visit! PS the mud pie cake was a great way to top off our meal!

My wife and I really enjoyed the food. I order their signature burger and my wife ordered the Hot Honey chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches were well flavored. The French fries were very well cooked and seasoned. I think the layout of the seating is awkward, it's a little too open. We were the only ones dining, but I can imagine it gets loud because there's nothing to break up the sound. Pricing is above average and probably will prevent me from eating there as frequent as I'd want to. Our server, Anna, was very friendly.

We had Father’s Day reservations but they would not seat us until everyone arrived. Our son had to get gas & air in his tire, so he was running late. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked to be seated and told them we wanted to start ordering drinks. I had a turkey BLT with a Bloody Mary. Both were ok, not over the top. Our waitress, Jessica was outstanding!! She kept coming by our table to make sure we had everything we needed. Great job, Jessica!! The ambience was a bit lacking . Everything was tastefully done; it was just lacking in props. It seemed like a well decorated cafeteria. The space is too open. Some music would have been nice.

Bad: First of all they are doing open construction. Raw, cut drywall everywhere. Electric wires hanging out by the mirror in the bathroom. It was dusty in the restaurant. Good: My food was delicious. I had the Chefs Garlic chicken tikka. That is definitely a reorder.

I would have to say the best Indian food ive ever had! Service was pleasant & quick with great recommendations! We ordered the butter chicken amazingly tender great flavor, also got the lamb chops to die for! Phenomenal flavor from the marinade & seasonings so so tender melt in your mouth! The rice was great & the Garlic Naan so fresh, hot, & flavorful. The fact that this place wasn't absolutely packed is crazy to me because they deserve a consistent line out the door. Its been a few weeks since I went to this place, but it was fantastic. The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal. The food was fantastic. The service was efficient but a little brusque. The ambiance is weird. They have lovely wood tables and chairs, but cold, hard lighting and marble floors. The music is soft jazz, very nice but hardly Indian. I recommend the place for the food. You won't hate the rest, and you will enjoy the food.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Hampton, look no further than Mama Rosa's Italian Family Restaurant. This charming eatery boasts a vibrant atrium and a full bar, making it an inviting spot for families to gather over authentic Italian cuisine. With an extensive menu featuring everything from specialty pasta dishes and subs to mouthwatering pizzas and calzones, there's something to satisfy every craving.
Great value! Food was good, staff was nice, and the place feels nostalgic. The little bread they serve doesn’t look like much, but it is really good. Portions were big enough for lots of leftovers. Feels like a nice family restaurant. I’d be happy to return.

First time here with my hisband for a date night with our 3 year old. When I say this is by far the best Italian food I've had I mean it. Food was so good I called my dad in the parking lot and told him I finally tried Mama Rosa's and OMG was it good. I'm already looking forward to my leftovers 😋. Can't wait to try them again. The menu has a lot to choose from.

Very nice family Italian restaurant that is clean and has great food. Dishes are generously sized and about half of our party needed to bring home what they couldn't finish. Ticked all the boxes for great Italian comfort food. About $20 per meal, with tax and tip about $27 per person. Lunch specials until 2pm are $13-15 per person.

I was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and welcoming. The staff made us feel right at home, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely go back.

If you're clueless like me and thought you would never have Anna's again , I was so happy to find out that they are Mama Rosa's now. Everything is all well in the world now. Amazing!!!

I knew right away when I walked in and saw the door to the kitchen open and saw nothing but Italian men in the kitchen cooking that this was gonna be a great place to eat. Everything we are felt authentic and homemade. I would recommend the mozzarella sticks and the chicken Alfredo with penne noodles. BEST ALFREDO SAUCE IVE EVER HAD.

Everything about this place is pure gold! The food is amazing, authentic Italian, with the right amount of everything. The drinks, don't even get me started on how wonderful the drinks were, excellent bartender, excellent servers. I never had to ask for a refill on my water, the food came quickly, and overall I have found my new favorite spot! I suggest making a reservation, because they are definitely busy, and the tables go fast! Again, don't think because it's busy you'll get poor service. Would recommend!!!!

We have driven by this restaurant for years… & finally decided to try it out! Wow! We were missing some really authentic and yummy Italian food! We will definitely be back! Great food. Great service. Family vibes. Garlic knots are A+!! Side of (2HUGE) meatballs did not disappoint! Lasagna was bubbling HOT! Seafood pizza was a great Pescatarian option! Salads were nice & fresh. Salad dressing def homemade :)

Restaurant
El Azteca Mexican Restaurant is a branch of a laid-back Mexican eatery chain renowned for its traditional cuisine accompanied by margaritas and a full bar. The cuisine was satisfactory, albeit slightly expensive. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated, although the service became sluggish once we were at our table. We ordered fried ice cream but received a regular scoop topped with whipped cream and sprinkles instead. Unfortunately, the check was difficult to decipher, leaving us clueless about the charges.
The food is great here! I usually get enchiladas, but decided to try the fajitas for the first time. They were really good, especially when you drizzle their spicy salsa on top. The service is good, and the atmosphere is very nice. I normally don’t like refried beans, but their beans are soooo good!
Hannah C — Google review
Stopped here by chance. We were craving Mexican and happen to be driving by. The place wasn’t busy. Seat you when you walk in. There are booths and tables. Decor is someone typical of a Mexican restaurant. The place was very clean. They have several TV’s hanging up so it would be a nice place for a sports fan. They do have a full bar. The food came out hot and fresh. The refried beans are one of the best that we have had anywhere. Boyfriend ordered Tacos De Carne Asada and I had the Taquitos Mexicanos. I chose this because it came with 2 beef and 2 chicken. Everything tasted fresh and cooked to perfection. We will go back and try more items. The menu is extensive and I appreciate they have a section with descriptions of the Mexican food.

I realized, ive lived here for 5 years and I have never wrote a review! Better late than never. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant to go to! First, the service is always great. The servers are always very nice, and the food is always delicious and fresh! Not to mention, its always clean!! Its also affordable, and I highly recommend anyone looking for a bite to eat, to come check them out.

I have been coming here off and on for years, yesterday I came and of course got fajitas again, it was the nastiest/ strangest chicken / steak I’ve ever had from a Mexican place, dry weird texture , maybe it was old, anyway was absolutely not impressed in the slightest. Disgusting: try other restaurants that aren’t serving dog food. The review below is 5 years ago, Great customer service , great friendly staff very fresh meals made and prepared for you here we had chicken and steak fajitas and it was out of this world

Absolutely Amazing!! Can't say enough good things about this place. Service was top notch and super fast. Definitely a favorite.
MrJayroca3 — Google review
I’ve always considered this my go-to spot for a good margarita, especially after a long day at work. While I’ve never been blown away by the food — it’s always been pretty mediocre — the margaritas have consistently kept me coming back. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a big disappointment. After working a full day in the shipyard in record heat (110°!), all I wanted was a cold drink and a cool place to relax. Instead, I walked into a restaurant that was uncomfortably warm inside. I asked the server if the air conditioning was on, and he casually replied, “Well, we have the fans going,” with no real concern. I have to say, it’s really disheartening to learn that this place doesn’t run the A/C in extreme temperatures. That’s not just uncomfortable — it feels borderline unsafe for both customers and staff. I get trying to save on energy bills, but at 110°, that’s just not it. So, I guess I’ll be back in the fall — or maybe not at all. I’ll definitely be skipping this place during the summer months from now on.

Mexican restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful Mexican dining experience in Hampton, look no further than Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant. This beloved establishment has been a staple in the Hampton Roads area for years, offering an extensive menu filled with classic Mexican dishes that are sure to satisfy your cravings. One of their standout features is the guacamole made right at your table, adding a personal touch to your meal.
At first, I didn't want to go here. I thought Rubby Tuesdays was open, but nope,. So, I gave Plaza Azteca a shot. I really didn't want 😔 Mexican food because the last time I had it, it wasn't a good experience. Boy, this place has turned my attitude around about Mexican food. First, don't be fooled by the outside of the building because thats not what you're here for. You are here for what awaits you inside, and let me tell you! If you want a Mexican birthday or celebration, then look no further! I took some pictures, and I hope I was not disappointed! The drinks here are great! The food is good. But the atmosphere here is what you came here for! The pricing is not even that expensive! I paid around $28 for my meal. Minus my military discount, thats an extra percentage off. I gave the waiter the complete 15% because $7 isn't going to pay his rent for the month.
Javier G — Google review
The restaurant has a striking decoration, designed to resemble an Aztec pyramid, which creates a unique and impressive atmosphere. The lighting is excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. Service was attentive and friendly, with a reasonable waiting time. Drinks were outstanding and definitely a highlight of the experience. The only downside is that it can get quite loud due to the number of people, even though the music itself isn’t too loud. Overall, it’s a vibrant place with great food, drinks, and ambiance.
Luiyer M — Google review
Service was beyond any expectations we had going in. Food was good. Large quantities. Table side guacamole was the best I’ve had anywhere. Good people, good food.
Jillion B — Google review
Love the atmosphere of this restaurant! I ordered a pineapple dish with fajita meats inside. The flavor was decent, but the steak pieces were so overcooked that it was tough to eat, almost jerky-like. But the portions are large, and there was enough food for me to take leftovers home. Also tried the horchata, and it was really good, tasted homemade and not like the instant packets. The service was subpar, we felt a bit neglected when it came to drink refills, and they forgot to bring out the tortillas that came with my dish, I had to ask for them. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, there was maybe 3 other tables occupied.
Hannah C — Google review
Overall the food was pretty good. I got the spinach enchilada which says come with sour cream, but it was just a drizzle. I asked for additional and they charged me $2.00! My son got a kids meal hamburger and he said it didn't taste good. My husband said his was good not not worth what we paid. The atmosphere/decorations were nice, but feel the cost didn't match the taste.
Alice B — Google review
The chicken fajitas were amazing! The enchiladas with Verde sauce were equally great. The drinks were mixed well and the appearance alone made it worthwhile! I would recommend stopping by if Mexican food is what you're craving. Very clean inside with great decor!

Ordered for office lunch. Beautiful faux plants hanging over tables when I went to pick up. I will say lunch is better than dinner service at this location but food was hot and tasted great

THIS Plaza is my favorite mexican restaurant in the area. LOVE their happy hour. I’ve been to many, but I always get great food and drinks here. (Although I usually just sit at the bar opposed to the main dining area. Not sure if that makes a difference.) I’m a picky eater and I like to see my food separated on a plate. lol. Plaza is one of the few places that do this. Highly recommended.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Old Hampton, Goody's Deli & Pub is a charming spot that perfectly blends a cozy bar atmosphere with delicious food offerings. Known for its hefty sandwiches and refreshing drinks, this inviting establishment features outdoor seating and high-top tables inside, making it an ideal place to unwind after a long day. The friendly staff, often dressed in tartans reminiscent of traditional English pubs, adds to the warm ambiance.
My husband and I had a good experience at this place. They were very welcoming and the food was really good, especially the Reuben. We definitely will be returning and play some songs at the cool looking music machine.
Claudia E — Google review
I was at an all- day event down the street, decided to walk over to Goody’s for lunch. Place is a total dive bar, which I love. Not very crowded at all, easy to get a spot at the bar for a to-go order. Quick service with the menu. I ended up getting the hot pastrami, as well as the Texan for a friend. Served with come slaw and a bag of chips, the price was $13.95. I wasn’t expecting much, honestly. But wow, that was a fantastic sandwich, one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, piled way high with pastrami and melted Swiss. Incredible sandwich, incredible value. The Texan looked insanely good as well. My colleague loved it! Would definitely go back!
Morgan R — Google review
Service was great, friendly and inviting. Conversation with the bartender was a breath of fresh air. Kitchen staff gave a good recommendation, Loved the atmosphere. All the trinkets add a personal touch and give character to the establishment. However the recommended Rueben sandwich would have been perfect with the stuffed ingredients in rye. By the time I got to the second half of my sandwich, it had soaked up so much juice, it was rendered useless in the overall flavor profile and would have fell apart if it weren’t for my persistence in making sure I got it down. Given the time frame I was working with, I wasn’t going to ask for it to be redone; also not my style. With all things considered, this experience had the potential to be perfect if it weren’t for the neglected underside of this sandwich. As a sandwich artist, a precautionary napkin or some sort of padding to protect the inevitability vulnerable underside would have definitely been used if it were my creation.
Gary C — Google review
Usually would have pictures to post but the company I was with and the atmosphere of Goody's was too good to interrupt. Our server Courtney was attentive and pleasant. Great portion sizes for the reuben and beef and cheese sandwiches. Good laid back place to chill. Fully enjoyed myself

Very nice Deli Pub and downtown Old Hampton on Queensway Mall. Outdoor seating available as well as high top tables and bar stools inside. Very nice and efficient bartender taking care of the outside tables. Service was fast an accurate and very nice. Food was great I had the Reuben and we also had the pulled BBQ chicken. Lots of people on Queensway mall with the live entertainment on a Friday night. I would highly recommend it if you're tied up at the Docks in front of the Landmark Hotel. Great local spot

Restaurant
STUFT Restaurant is a relaxed establishment that offers a selection of Mexican street food and a full bar featuring margaritas, accompanied by live music. Their innovative approach to Mexican cuisine makes for an intriguing and delectable dining experience. With both a food truck and a restaurant, they specialize in their signature Stuft burrito shells, which are reminiscent of large tacos filled with an array of distinctive ingredients.
STUFT is a stylish restaurant/bar located in a very stylish section of Hampton at Buckroe Beach. The staff could not be any nicer! The live music is worth going, therefore by itself, however, if you leave there without trying some food, you will be very sorry for not trying the hot dog taco with cabbage and so much more, it was melting in my mouth. You want good food, good staff, good company and the best music in the area and without a doubt roll by. STUFT

5 stars for a quick turn in Mexican bar. Live music. Good service and I could kiss the cook! The tacos are not what you’d expect but literally everything you need. They’re known for their cheesesteak egg rolls which are also 5 ⭐️ but trust me on the tacos and the guac. PJ kept the refills coming and was too cool 😎 I will be back!

Walked in for a quick lunch. Did not expect to have such a wonderful time! The food is so good and very affordable. The staff are considerate and kind. Absolutely will return when Im back in the area.

This was my first visit to Stuft even though it's been on my list to visit for a while. There was no wait and we were able to seat ourselves. The waitress attended to us quickly and she was friendly. We ordered the walking nachos with chicken, pew pew tacos, and the bulgogi cheese steak eggrolls. This was the best food I've had at this price point in a long time.
Lawrence R — Google review
Just finished eating here for the first time and I must say that the bulgogi egg rolls are absolutely to die for, the burritos are HUGE! And all the ingredients tasted fresh! I don’t know how I missed this hidden gem for so long but so glad that I found it! Cailin , our server was fantastic, very attentive, friendly and made the already great atmosphere even better! Will be returning in the near future and recommending to all my friends!

First time trying the food here and I was very impressed, the 14inch burrito was HUGE and the flavor was amazing, the godzilla fries were unbelievable, so much flavor, i found my new Mexican spot
Juicy G — Google review
STUFT is consistently great food—and I dare say, they have the best French fries on the peninsula. The menu is affordable, and the portions are generous. There’s a little something for everyone, including non-meat eaters (their soyrizo is a nice touch). The smoked wings are outstanding—flavorful enough that they don’t need sauce, though it’s available if you feel compelled. Their homemade dressings and salsa are also top-notch. The kitchen is small, but the staff work hard to get food out in a timely manner. You may have to wait, but that just gives you more time to enjoy the company you're with. They host live bands fairly often—on those nights, it’s smart to reserve a table. STUFT is also one of the few places I know where you can still get a beer for $4. The staff are busy, but always kind and friendly. Is it family friendly? Overall, yes. Maybe avoid bringing the kids late at night—not because it’s unsafe, but because bars after dark tend to be adult spaces. That said, my child loves the Walking Taco.

This family-run gem, helmed by the dynamic duo Greg and Sara Barnhill, boasts over thirty years of culinary expertise. Their menu is a delightful journey through Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and the Mediterranean—each dish crafted with high-quality ingredients and classic techniques.
This could be one of the coolest eclectic restaurants around. I have to come back to try more food. I'm seriously going to try the entire menu. So I said I would come back and I was not let down. This time I had the Cuban sandwich, now I've eaten my fare of Cubans ,but never with additional salami. Which gives it a subtle meaty flavor I also had a side of loaded twice fried potatoes. Wedges hot and crispy, soft and fluffy on the inside top with crema , cojita cheese and green onions
I C — Google review
We stopped in for lunch and it was my first time, I ordered the chicken sandwich with the Asian seasoning , my friend got the quesabirra quesadilla , my Sandwich was good , I ordered a side of fries , I couldn’t believe the fries were so plain and not what I expected when I saw my receipt they charged 6$ for a side of fries…… they were t anything special . For the excessive price on sides I think I’ll pass on trying the corn dog. Great location, the food wasn’t bad. And service was good, the bathroom smelled so bad
Anell M — Google review
They never disappoint! Their food is always amazing. We love coming here for a lunch we know will be great. My daughter loves the chicken tacos, husband loves the quesabirria and I’m a big fan of their ramen and nachos.

This restaurant is a gem. They have reasonably priced, delicious menu items from all over the globe. The Korean Corn Dog was a favorite, as well as the BimBap and Tampa Cubano. The Falafel was okay, and the Fried Eggplant Sandwich got soggy quickly, so it was hard to judge. Their twice fried potatoes fell flat. But honestly, so, so good overall and we will definitely be back when in town. Patio area outside that allows pups too if that's your thing. Churro Donuts were out of this world. 😋
Robin G — Google review
This place is SO good. The food is absolutely mouth watering, the atmosphere is cozy, the employees are always nice and welcoming. I can’t say about about the food. There are several options for different cultural food and it’s all just delicious! The only thing that is a little disappointing is the Bao Buns they have on the menu online, they’re my favorite! However they often don’t have them in the restaurant. I’ve been several times when they weren’t available which is kind of irritating, most times I go there specifically for them. However other than that, everything is amazing. Def check them out!

The only reason why I'm giving 5 stars is because I CAN'T go any higher!!! This place is amazing 😍😍😍😍😍!!! I came here on a recommendation from a fellow foodie and boy were they right! I had the Korean hot dog and let me tell you, this is my first time trying it and I already know this place has set the bar high on this!! So tasty, hot, spicy, salty, sweet and cheesy!!! I also ordered Famous Greg's Onion rings and they tasted like a combo of beer batter and tempura onion rings, EVERY BITE is better than the last!!! Lastly I had the Cambozzola burger, first bite and I was in Love!!! I'm a big believer in a World of Good, because this place just did me a world of good!!! Thank you for the wonderful meal, it brought up my mood!

Wow! This place is amazing. You might miss this little gem when you drive by but you will not be sorry if you stop. The food is centered around a Latin - Asian base but it's not anything typical. I had Arepas and they were great. The nachos were also really good and not the boring normal nachos you get anywhere else. Every bite of every layer of flavor in my food was fresh and tasty. The staff was freakin awesome too. I'm definitely going back for the rest of the menu.

Went here for a coworkers retirement party in the upstairs area. The place was cozy and the staff was amazingly friend and helpful. The food was seriously delicious! 😋 I got a cup of the shecrab soup and the Capsizer sandwich and both were awesome and I'm usually a snob about seafood but everything was on point. Drinks were strong, tasty and a good price! I had the mango crush. Definitely check this place out!

Nice little vibe restaurant with a upstairs and good old fashioned food. Servers were vibe friendly, cool and joked with the customers. Staff was quick and efficient on their cook to table skills. Bloody mary was alright but mimosa was pleasant even though I only had it one time before. Gumbo grits was my plate of choice and it was a 8.5 out of 10. Catfish on top of the cheesy grits with sausage, shrimp and peppers is a must try. Next time I go I'll add hotsauce on the fish to see if it knock my socks off. Pour chick sandwich looks like it was a SLAPPER even though I didn't order it. But my wonderful mom did. Happy Mothers day to all and it's a yes on coming back to this restaurant to review other meals. The FOOD is FOODING

Their food is phenomenal. The chicken curry is a Must try, super flavorful. The curry sauce pairs very well with the rice. The rice itself is just basic white rice but adding the flavors from the meats makes it way better. The wings are good as well. They’re nice and fried and have like a sweet Thai chili sauce coating. I’ve only had pancit like twice so not to sure what to expect but this one was good as well. Not dry or mushy. I felt like it needed a bit more flavor though, maybe some spice.

Very friendly owners. I met Jan he was very cordial smh welcoming. I've been out here for 20yrs and it was my first time eating philipino food! The pork stew was thee best! It's missing from my plate but the pieces of pork were big along with sliced carrots. He put lumpia and sweet and sour sauce in it. I've heard a lot of lumpia, not sure if it's spelled right.

Quick and easy fare. Feels like a family owned establishment when you walk in. About the meal...I can't recall the names of the dishes, but every single one was flavorful and prepared perfectly. The meat was so tender, wow. It's in the perfect location too. You can grab a bite then drive 5-10 minutes to the shore for a relaxing lunch. 10 out of 10 I highly recommend 😋

The food was terrific, overall better than the VB offerings. The big difference is that since they make poke, they serve Japanese/Korean rice for everything. It was so fine. The rice soaks up the sauce better than Jasmine rice. The longanisa was nice as well, not microwaved as in Glenda's Bulalohan (Glendas has great sizzling study, though). The longanisa was garlicky, with those guys of paprika that you love. Great place, you want to go. Go now.

I love this place. It's close to the naval station gate 4. I get it when I want a treat for lunch. Poke bowl is awesome.

This place is a top-of-the-list must-have anytime I'm in the area. The owners are so warm and welcoming, and the food is just phenomenal! Everything tastes top-notch notch but I supes recommend the lumpia, pancit, and menudo.

Very nice people and delicious food. Poke & veggies were fresh with fantastic sauce combos. They had sold out of many items by the time we got there (around 1:30 PM) but everything we did try was tasty (lumpia, pancit, sausage). Great experience, highly recommend.

The food is excellent - crazy good in comparison to others in this area. I typically only order the Filipino side, not the poke. Jan is the man; he is awesome! Pick up some trading cards or Legos while you’re here too.

If you're looking for a delightful seafood experience, look no further than Got Fish? Seafood Hampton. This charming eatery offers an inviting atmosphere with warm and friendly staff who guide you through their enticing menu. The seafood trio is a must-try, and while the portions are generous enough to share, you'll likely want to take some leftovers home! Their signature crabby sauce is simply divine—it's something you have to taste for yourself.
I use to chase down their food truck 🚚 now I can just walk in and order at their restaurant. 1st impression I was blown away of how clean it was inside. Service was fast. Food was hot and fresh. Crabby Fries and Butter Crunch Cake are still the best in the 757. The staff is great and the owner is right there checking on you. Black Owned. Dine in or carry out in Hampton or Chesapeake location. Got Fish?

We were greeted when we walked in & had the menu explained by a really nice lady. We got the seafood combo with crabby fries and whiting platter with grits and hushpuppies. The cornmeal batter is everything and the huge pieces of whiting were on another level. The butter crunch cake and toffee cookies... delicious! The entire restaurant (especially the restrooms) was spotless and the staff cleaned constantly. Great portion sizes and fair pricing as well. Another black owned business that is doing it right consistently 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Great concepts...excellent customer service. I'd like to point out that their customer service is on par with Chik-fil-a. That means more to me than mostly anything else. So, I didn't mind paying for the higher than expected prices. The food was a quality grade, even though I don't like the cornmeal style breader on my fish. The shrimp and Crabby Fries were to die for. Next time, I'll stick with the items that do not include fish. The restaurant was very clean and well kept. I can't wait for the Chesapeake location to open. Overall...two thumbs up.

I’ve been here twice and on both occasions the service was beyond stellar. They were helpful, attentive, and made you feel like family. The food is consistently delicious, very well prepared, and full of flavor. I highly recommend Got Fish for an awesome vibe and great food!

Amazingly Delicious 😋 Food!!! Love the music played in the restaurant, no explicit lyrics perfect environment for all ages. Staff extremely friendly and very very attentive to all customers. 4 Stars instead of 5 because you have to be very careful while eating the fish, there are lots of little bones. Unfortunately, you will have to navigate those little bones while enjoying your delicious meal. Typically not what most of us plan on doing when eating a fish sandwich.

Got a yearning in your belly for authentic Cajun seafood? I have the right place for you, Got Fish Seafood in Hampton, Virginia. The restaurant is located right off of I-64 located in the Hampton Town Center. I truly wasn’t expecting to walk in and find a beautifully designed modern masculine contemporary restaurant. Handcrafted oak counters, tables, and booths, accented with red, black, and white decor. A path led us around to the state of the art menu wall and a merch section that had cost-friendly items that will let everyone know why your smiling. Breathing in all I could smell was the cleanliness and fresh food. This restaurant has risen the bar on cleanliness and eye appeal, I then wondered if the food would be as comparable. Having visited the website gotfishseafood.com my plan was to order what was on the website. Standing there looking at the beautiful dishes on the menu wall, I got lost in a sea of variety. My tummy took over my prior selections and chose the Seafood Trio and a side order of Crab Cakes. What a wonder did my belly find? The aroma forced me to speed home! Or that was the excuse that I had planned on telling the trooper if I was pulled over. LoL Once home I could not wait to dive into the food like a child on Christmas morning. To see the care that was taken when placing the food in the cartons made me smile. It was unbelievable at how it was prepared and boxed just like the pictures on the website. Unable to wait any longer I broke off a piece of fish. It was excellently cooked to flakey perfection, coated in a Cajun batter and fried golden brown. The flavor was AWESOME!!! Next, the crab cake was calling my name. I could not resist taking a piece of Cory’s crab cake. LoL, I saved mine for the salad I made the next day. Yes, it was just as fresh and delicious. The crab cake was mostly meat with little to no filler. The flavor was all natural with a subtle hint of cajun. If you like hot sauce on your food you will be in heaven with this crab cake. But be ready to slap your grandmother because you're gonna think she gave them the recipe. Ok, I have to tell you about the Crabby fries. Yeah, I thought this was going to be something from SpongeBob Squarepants too! Far from it! Imagine waffle fries smothered by crab meat in a special sauce. And trust me when I tell you they did not skimp on the crab meat in the sauce. I almost hate to mention it, I know it is going to be a best seller!! The pound cake is to die for!!! I would like to highly recommend this restaurant. It has surpassed my expectations of cleanliness, customer service, quality, and flavor of food. You will enjoy it!!!

This was me and my daughters first time and everything from start to finish was AMAZING!!! The staff is so incredibly inviting and warm. We were walked through the menu and ordered the seafood trio as recommended with an extra piece of fish since we were sharing. The portion is large so we really didn't need it but were more than happy to take left overs! The crabby sauce..... my God. Just so good. You have to try it yourself! My daughter also grabbed a piece of butter cake which was heavenly. We're hooked and you will be too!

A review that is way over due. I've been eating here since they were only a food truck. The food never disappoints. Always perfectly seasoned and cooked. My pickup order is always done on time. The sauce is always placed in a separate container so that the fries do not get soggy. I don't have anything negative to say. Just always an overall positive experience, from food to customer service, every time I dine here.

Surf Rider Restaurant is a relaxed, Southern-inspired establishment with a strong emphasis on seafood and a bar that features nautical-themed décor. It offers an authentic east coast experience in Hampton, Virginia. The service provided is exceptional and the menu offers a wide range of food options, specifically highlighting delicious seafood dishes. Wonderful seafood restaurant with nice staff and excellent views of the marina. We dined here during a family weekend. We wanted to go somewhere that offered decent affordable prices, good food and a great atmosphere. We arrived to a full restaurant. The weather was very nice outside so we decided to eat outdoors on the deck facing the marina. It was getting close to sunset so that was perfect. Our waitress Maddie was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu and she offered some favorites. 2 of us ordered the broiled sampler, which was good except the shrimp were overcooked; Our waitress took note and the manager Mary came out and checked on us and she sincerely apologized and assured us that she understood and she had the kitchen prepare a fresh batch for us. The food was good; the service was fair, we did wait for refills quite a bit (as the cups were small), and the scenery was unmatched; as , did get to catch the sunset. Thanks to Mary, Maddie, and Dontay; and the whole Surf Rider staff.

I went in with 3 of my friends, Friday around 4:30. There was hardly any people there and we were able to sit outside. The service was very good and the food was on point! Fun fact, I love their broccoli and holandaise sauce. I got 1 lbs shrimp and it was fresh!

Such a great restaurant! We had prompt and courteous service. The menu and specials looked quite good. We both ordered specials ( honey glazed tuna and a blackened mahi) that were very good, and with the generous sides were plenty of food. Great looking restaurant, clean and well kept with lots of windows so you can see the Marina and the boats from almost everywhere. If It had been just a little warmer we would have chosen outdoor seating. Oh and they easily accommodated some allergies in our group. I would highly recommend Surf Rider on Hampton Creek!

My husband and I went for dinner. We usually go there about once or twice a month with friends and last few times the food/service was excellent. Tonight took a turn that I could not even imagine at a place like this. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger dinner and a blackened tuna sandwich. The cheeseburger had cold crusty bacon. French fries that had been thrown in the fryer over and over again- loaded with grease, and a like warm burger. My husband tuna was served wrong temperature freezing cold tator tots and I asked for it to be remade. It was remade with the same crusty bacon warmer French fries and my husbands tuna still not cooked at correct temp. Asked for the check and I could not believe that a manager never checked on us and there was not one dime taken off the bill. When I brought this up to the bartender/server she told me that they already lost money since they had to remake our food which there was nothing wrong with it to begin with and as I told her everything that was wrong she threw the checkbook with our credit card at us and it landed on the floor and I was told I made her upset. I did call her a name which I was not happy about but I have never been treated so rudely. This place must be democratic because they think they are entitled to screw up your meal and you need to apologize to them for that

This charming eatery specializes in mouthwatering BBQ and Southern cuisine, all served within a cozy brick-and-wood ambiance. Known for their award-winning barbecue team, the Serial Grillers, County Grill offers an ever-evolving selection of craft beers to complement your meal.
Excellent food and service. We had the brisket and sausage combo with coleslaw and warm potato salad. The brisket was juicy, tender and flavored with the perfect amount of smoke. The sausage was amazing. It was also juicy but had a complex flavor profile that was really delicious. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I had their homemade warm banana pudding. Outstanding! I'm going to be craving this week's later, I just know it.

Great sauces, good food. It was tasty enough, just wish it hadn’t been lukewarm. The Lexington and East Carolina were my favorite sauces. I had the pork shoulder platter with collards and pit roasted veggies. I would have liked to have had some vinegar for the collards, but they didn't have any. I used the East Carolina sauce and that worked. The veggies seem to be steamed, not roasted. D.B. was great and so nice that I didn't want to complain.

My first time here and our waiter took great care. I enjoyed the pulled pork with Lexington and Eastern NC sauces. The sides were coleslaw and beans, which were fine but the meat was the star. I'd come back again and try other sides next time.

Lunch today at County Grill & Smokehouse, Hampton. My first visit to this truly Star Spangled BBQ and as I eaten around the central and southeast. I’m developing a sense of if the bbq pit is trying too hard with lots of kitsch to say they are more authentic. Well that’s probably not truth. So entering CG&S you don’t get that vibe you get laid back and relaxed, welcome come on in we don’t put on aires. You will be seated in large roomy booth and then greeted by your server who will cover your table in butchers paper. Ok you can now guess there will be sauces and juices the 4-6” stack of thick paper towels near the wall of your table and the rack of bottles could have been your first indication. The menu everything you expect to come out of the smoker from shoulder, ribs of every sort to sausages, brisket, chicken and turkey. Give County the opportunity they will start you with your favorite alcoholic or non beverage and an item or tree from the starter menu Stuffed Bbq Shrimp, Brisket Bacon Dip, or maybe Chili Cheese Fries topped w/brisket and if Wings are your thing go 5, 10,15,or 20. But save room for the main event Pork Shoulder, Beef Brisket, Ribeye Steak, Center Cut Pork Chops, or Smoked 1/2 Chicken and for the family members say they need something lighter Yellow Fin Tuna all these served with two sides and warm Corn Muffins. And if you’re looking the Sandwiches and Salads they don’t disappoint the same freshly smoked meats tucked into fresh bread and rolls. Or topping fresh from the garden greens and vegetables. For those with a sweet tooth and have a tiny place set aside they have a selection of traditional comfort desserts. You can make your visit to County your office lunch break but I recommend you give yourself a little more time relax, enjoy, and don’t forget to lick your fingers. This is what a bbq should be.

Very good. Brisket was not quite as tender as it could have been and they don’t have the bark perfect but it was a solid 3.5-4 stars I would say. Poblano Mac and cheese was amazing, corn bread was very good too.
Joseph W — Google review
The food and drinks were almost perfect! The brisket is definitely something to brag about. Smoked wings are also five star worthy. Once I put the salt & pepper on the greens and Mac and cheese it was no flaws to be found. My only problem was the lion ribs; I probly just got a bad cut. Just get the St. Louis style ribs instead. I would have took a pic of the corn bread but they didn’t last once we added the honey butter.lol

Nestled in the heart of Hampton, Park Lane Tavern offers a delightful blend of American pub fare and a stylish ambiance reminiscent of traditional London taverns. With its charming wood decor, this spot is perfect for those looking to unwind with friends over delicious food and drinks. The menu features crowd-pleasers like fish and chips, bangers and mash, and even a ghost pepper burger that strikes the right balance between flavor and heat. For starters, their pretzel sticks are a must-try!
This is the coolest looking english pub. Their decor is so on point and the food is equally delicious. Fish and chip Tuesday is awesome. Portions are HUGE, so be prepared, if you are not a big eater, probably consider sharing an entree with someone because again, I repeat, the portion is humongous! Excellent service as well, we are not into beer but can see they have a pretty wide selection, someone who enjoy beer would have a great time here! What a place. Food, Beef Wellington, was amazing and delicious. Honestly it ranks in the top 1% of meals Ive ever had. Seasoning was on point, portion size was great, and flavor was amazing. Can’t recommend it any more. Naiya, our server, was very professional and definitely took her job representing this restaurant seriously. Group of 6 with ZERO issues at all…well done! 5’s across the board and can’t wait until my next trip back to Hampton. Solid drink menu and food selections are solid.

What a great place to come and drink beer and eat great food. We had the pretzel sticks to start, then between the 6 of us had the alpine chicken, fish and chips, bangers and mash, corned beef dinner and pizza, everything was absolutely amazing. Our server was great and checked on us frequently without being harassing. Parking is on the street but there are generally enough places to find something close. Inside the main feature is their bar which is great, and the other decor is very tastefully done. Go here you won't be disappointed.

🍹 Reliable spot for a great Old Fashioned! I’ve been coming here since I’ve been in Hampton, and I always make sure to grab an Old Fashioned. It’s not a wine-focused place, though they do have some options. Happy hour Monday through Friday is a bonus, with specials on different nights. The food is solid—fish and chips and pizza are good, and the beef Wellington is decent. Service is friendly and attentive, making it a perfect spot if you want good food and drinks without spending too much.

I've been coming here for years and it's always great, everytime. I might be a little biased since I had a first date here 8 years ago, who turned out to be the love of my life and we have been together ever since. We come here for birthdays and anniversaries, and we always suggest this place to everyone we know. I love that they have specials every day, and they also have an amazing brunch. I think almost all of our kitchen glasses are from steal the glass nights lol. Their menu and food quality stays consistent, but the only thing I wish they would bring back is their happy hour food specials, they used to have these bomb buffalo chicken sliders that I used to get after work.

This is truly one of my absolute favorite places to dine. It’s if an Irish, British and American bar had a baby. We were visiting for a comic con and this sounded exactly like what we yearn for and it met and surpassed our expectations. We enjoyed it so much our first time for dinner we came back the following night! The decor is awesome, with a large bar in the middle of the restaurant and seating set up in a rectangle around it. We had a wait both nights but was always under half an hour and while you waited a waitress came over to see if you wanted anything from the bar. A genius sales tactic and it worked both nights. We enjoyed old fashioneds and house martinis like the smores martini which was a special Friday night (martinis $6) once seated the waiters are very prompt and what you hope for, come to order, bring food and check periodically if you need anything during your meal. Both nights stellar waitstaff. The menu is my dream where you can get anything from crispy chicken wings to beef Wellington for under $30! And it’s good! The beer offerings are excellent, great food and better prices. Makes me so happy and I’ll recommend it to anyone and go out of my way to visit anytime I’m remotely in the area. Oh and get the fish and chips it’s truly is the best ever! And I’ve been to Britain numerous times.

My little family and I were visiting the area from California. This is the first place my husband wanted to try while searching for restaurants around Hampton. He was born and raised in Louisiana, so the menu grabbed his attention. We decided on the day we were flying back to California, which was a Monday to come check it out. We parked in the back parking lot and entered through the backdoor. We were greeted by two lovely young women. We were instantly seated. Our waitress was Ty, and she was amazing from start to finish! Shout out to Ty! She explained the menu to us as first-timers and didn't leave anything out. Which we appreciated. As we waited for our food and sipped our drinks we noticed the ambiance was very nice! For those of you who like the esthetics, this place is it for a nice photo-op. When our food was brought out, it was plated nicely! I love good picture-ready plating. The best part was the food was as delicious as it looked! Even though my son and I opted for a simple meal as we were flying out, my husband helped himself to a nice portion. My son and I ordered the classic French toast, him with a side of bacon and me a side of potatoes. My husband had fried catfish with grits, eggs, and toast. With all three of us having a mango lemonade. The food did not disappoint! Delicious! Our experience at Mango Mangeaux far exceeded our expectations. What made it special for us was the hospitality shown to us by Ty! I asked jokingly to send us off to California right, and she did that! I also, want to thank the cooks and the whole kitchen staff for a simple yet memorable meal! Thank you! I pray I get the chance to dine with y'all again in the future!

A beautiful restaurant, but one that never quite made it to great in my opinion. The savory beignets I had were so over salted i could taste nothing else, and I didn't want to finish them because they were 1 note- salt, which was a shame because the promise of shrimp and crab fondue on fresh made beignets sounds incredible. Unless you are a deer looking for a salt lick, I would avoid these. My friend had the quiche which she liked but the fruit tray had some sour grapes and the cantaloupe had no flavor. I also want to point out the wording on the "savory beignets- Served with Mango Mango Preserves and powdered sugar or savory beignets filled with shrimp and crawfish fondue." Having read it a few times I think ok, OR means I don't get both, but because both sauces were listed under Savory, and the sweet sauce is only listed under the sweet, I had thought I would get plain beignets and get to choose my sauce for dipping. It was not the case, they list sweet sauces under savory title for absolutely no reason. And they were salt licks anyway. Avoid them. While our server was visible at all times, she addressed only 1 more time during the meal, and I very much needed a water refill. A table to our right got up and left because no one approached them in about 5 minutes despite it being fairly empty at 10 'clock. I know Mango is only open until January, but if you're open at all , put in the full effort.

Quaint little restaurant in Old Towne Hampton. Set in the beautiful vintage area. Beautiful. There was a large parking lot behind the building. We did not have a reservation however we were sat right away. The server was very pleasant, she made sure to explain a couple of things since we had not been here before. Looking over the menu he got the two up and two down. I had to make a decision to see between three items. I prefer the Benedicts and love me some fried chicken so in the end the fried chicken Benedict. It came with the fruit platter with the famous mango dip. He did try the mango lemonade, very sweet. We were seated in the hallway, there was lots of traffic, but only delayed service slightly. However I would have liked a refill on the coffee, they were quick to remove the empties and plates due to the small area. All in all they were very pleasant and the food was great.

My husband and I decided to try this place and we sat at the bar. Avery is very personable and great at her job :) ♡ When we came in it was time for their lunch menu. We got the mango lemonade, it was refreshing and not too sweet. My husband got the Po Boy and I went for the turkey bistro, both good and fulfilling. We then decided to try the beignets and they were so cute and the mango filling with it was good 🙂‍↕️ I know it can be a bit on the pricier side as some reviews say, but we already knew that before we came in, and had already heard good things so wanted to give it a try. The atmosphere was welcoming and clean which I appreciated as well. Again, Avery was very nice to talk to and I wanted to for sure shout her out in this review! 🩷

Had these reservations for over a month for a party of ten. I did not feel they were prepared for a welcome or accommodation. Downstairs, all tables are square or rectangular shape. I saw parties of 6 or more sat comfortably. Our seating was upstairs. Enjoyed the quiet setting but not the unwelcoming tone from our server. Assuming she dreaded having to walk flights of stairs to bring us our food. Four round tables pushed together…not sure how anyone can eat like that. Guests had to use menus to eat on. Definitely a “been there and done that” spot. For what I got, there are some mom and pops diner that serve the same thing for a lesser price. If you say we paid for the experience…you can have that. The mango purée (jam) is what saved that one star.

I was excited to visit this place. Honestly, I should’ve chosen other restaurant around the corner. The hostess doesn’t know what the word “hospitality” means. You’re the first impression, you’re the first person the guests meet in the restaurant. He walked sloooowly, looked at us from the top to toes, it looked ridiculous. It was so obvious! I felt like I owe him something but didn’t know what:) That’s not a class, it’s a joke. Anyways. The waiter was trying to be professional, I appreciate that. But little advice from the person who worked at the Food and Beverage, Hospitality field most of her life - when the guest is ready to pay, you should give them the bill to see, not just tell them the amount. Mistakes happen, and as a guest I have the right to see my bill. But it’s just an advice. I don’t feel like coming back. I left this place confused why the attitude was so weird. The food is okay. One dish was a little overspiced

Nestled along the picturesque waterfront, The Barking Dog is a charming eatery that invites you to savor delicious bites while soaking in stunning views of Sunset Creek. This laid-back spot specializes in hot dogs, sausages, and burgers, but also offers a delightful selection of seafood dishes made from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. With its casual atmosphere, it's perfect for families and friends looking to unwind together.
Support your local hot dog joint. Yes that is the correct door even though it looks like it leads to the kitchen. Natural casing dogs. Great view of the water but whatever you do don't throw rocks.

Kosher hotdogs are delicious and when you get them with toppings it's even better. The seating area was small but loved that it was by the water. It was a little wait to receive our food so don't be in a rush when you get there especially if they're busy. We had a really nice waitress by the name of Erin. The wait staff (3) didn't seem to be able to efficiently handle the line, clean and wait tables. Drinks come in a can so I'm not sure if there were refills. Would I go back...yes. I 💓 hotdogs.

Stopped here on our road trip to pick up food to go. Very friendly staff and helpful. Food came out quickly too. We ordered their crab cake combo with fries, hush puppies, coleslaw and their Diablo hot dog with fries. The crab cake was a little too salty for my taste but was a HUGE portion so that was nice. I hate when I order some thing more expensive and then get nothing of it. Their hot dog, hush puppy, and fries were great They had a lot of options to choose from. One sad thing was the to go containers are styrofoam. I hate seeing styrofoam at establishments.

Food was pretty good, tender box had good portions and fries/chicken were good. Lucha Libre hotdog was also good! Only issue is portions with the chicken po boy. Probably the smallest sandwich I’ve ever paid $11 for. Same size as my hot dog. Had more tenders in the tender box than on my “po boy” sandwich. Didn’t have any lettuce or tomatoes as advertised. Maybe they forgot the other half? 🤣🤣

Lots of hotdogs options as well as crab cakes and fish and chips. The fish and chips uses catfish, which tastes pretty good and the basket is pretty filling with hush puppies, fries and a tiny slaw cup. They have snap dogs, which are smaller hotdogs - maybe 5 inches long, and probably a good size for kids. The Alligator sausage has a hint of spice and is pretty good. The sausage itself is large and quite filling and is nice to have a non-traditional option of meat. This is a very small restaurant with lots of character and very well priced. I recommend visiting if you're in the area. However, since it is popular, there is sometimes a wait for tables, and if it's just two people, you may share a table with another couple, which can be fun in itself as well. If you're against the wait, order take away and visit something local or eat on the beach (just remember to clean up after yourself if you do).

Great little spot! Decided to try something new and this was what we ended up, a quaint little water side hot dog shack. The yellowfin tuna tacos which were fantastic. Sushi grade tune seasoned and seared, paired with pickled cabbage, cilantro, and tomato, these are filling and delicious. Next up, shrimp po boy, but you can also get clam or scallops I believe. Golden fried shrimp on a light bed of lettuce and tomato, with a creamy remoulade that wasn't over powering. For sides we had French fries which were crispy and light, and mustard based potato salad which was creamy and rich without overpowering. I know this is a hot dog place and I'll probably try those next time, but they knocked these out of the park. Great food at a decent price, generous portions, a nice selection of craft beer, and a great waterside venue.

Neat little hot dog place, waterside. Nice views, and cool breezes. Service was just ok. Lots of options for toppings and the kosher hot dog was particularly good. The onion rings were awesome. Only other downsides were that the prices were a little high for hot dogs and the place was a little dirty, especially the bathroom.

This spot is great when it’s nice weather, you feel outside but you’re inside. I enjoyed this place because the concept screams “keep it simple, stupid”. Cheap beers, in cans, and they even give you a koozie! Food was great, can’t wait to come back and try something else!

Outback Steakhouse is a vibrant Australian-themed dining destination that specializes in serving up hearty steaks, seafood, and other classic steakhouse dishes. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with warm smiles from the friendly staff who ensure a pleasant experience right from the start. The atmosphere is inviting, featuring cozy booths perfect for enjoying a meal. Once seated, patrons can expect prompt service as waitstaff assist with drink selections and menu choices.
Greeted with a smile, very friendly. Asked to wait one minute while the hostess wiped down the table. Sat down in a very nice booth. Waited about 4 minutes for our waitress (Arnissia) to come to the table.  She was very friendly. Assisted with our drink questions and helped us make a decision. 2 minutes later the drinks and warm bread with butter arrived. We gave our appetizer and entree order. 4 minutes later our blooming onion arrived - delicious! 8 minutes for soup and salad to arrive after the appetizer. Salad was crisp but had too much dressing. I would ask for the dressing on the side. I got soup but they forgot a spoon. I asked for one. Waited more than 4 minutes for the spoon. When I flagged my server down, she looked at it and said why did they give me the soup in a to go cup..she took it and said she will return with a warm one and in a bowl. She remembered my spoon! She apologized for the mishap. My clam chowder was hot and delicious. 15 mins later main entrees arrived. The server advised us of which plates were hot. My boys had sirloin well done and medium rare and they were very pleased. Mom had the Chicken, I had Salmon.  Overall great service and empathy to the customer. It was our last night in the area and this meal was a great ending to our vacation.

My old review is from some time ago. Sorry to have to update and give such a bad review. We came here for our 25th anniversary sorry we did. We waited for 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. By then we knew what we wanted so she took our drink order and a appetizer. When she brought our drinks we ordered our food. 20 minutes later someone else brings our appetizer, it was awful over cooked and so greasy we couldn't eat it. Still no server we had to have someone else take it away. Now we are at 45 minutes since we placed our food. No salads or soup. No refills no server nothing. The worst thing was there was only 2 other tables that were also complaining about their service. The table behind us their server was wearing pajama bottoms. Had to get a manager at this point to get food. While all the staff was at the hostess desk playing on their phones. When we received our salads the lettuce was awful it was warm and soggy like it had been sitting out for awhile. I asked for the food to please not be sitting under a warmer. But obviously they left it sit while we had soup which was the only thing that was good. When the food came out it was obvious it had been under the heat lamp for awhile the bake potatoe was so crunchy and the butter melted all over the plate. Couldn't cut the filet had to saw with a knife. The shrimp was rubber it was awful. The manager took off the appetizer and wanted to give us a free dessert. But by now we have been there for 2 1/2 hours. We wanted to leave so we let our daughter pick a dessert to take home and left after paying a 103.00 dollars for inedible food. Worst service ever and awful food and no care from anyone about it. We will not be back. I will leave my previous review so you can see I'm not just trying to complain about nothing. Things are expensive enough so I'm not going to waste my time and money to go to some place that doesn't care. Had a great meal at Outback. The bread was so warm. The french onion soup was the best. The steaks were so tender and cook to perfection. Our server Nathan was the best. He kept the drinks filled and brought us more bread. The pace of the meal was great by the time we were done with one thing he had the next course. Will be back soon.

Everything was ABSOLUTELY perfect today! Thank you China for excellent & attentive service! It was only your second day and your service and efforts did not reflect “only your second day”. You made certain that my food arrived hot and well presented. Thank you to the kitchen staff who prepared my food. My ribs and asparagus were cooked to PERFECTION. My ribs were very tender & my asparagus spears were crispy. Thank you for a wonderful and delicious lunch.

Order out on valentine's day. First of all wanted to order the special but the appetizer that came with the meal was shrimp. Being allergic to shell fish, I asked if they could substitute it and they would not. So I ordered something else instead and when I got home they forgot to give me my vegetables and forgot the sauce that went with my wife's chicken, plus the food looked horrible. The small container of dip ran out well before we were finished with the chips. The salad look so very sad, and there wasn't really much to my shriveled little sweet potato. I don't know if all outback's are like this but the one in Hampton is horrible. Don't waste your time.

Decided to head here after work. Couldn't decide where to go and since we both haven't been in a while. Of course we got the blooming onion. Crispy and hot. The blooming chicken my guy got was very moist. I got the Queensland chicken and Shrimp pasta. Our waitress Nicole talked us into getting the boomerita. It's 4 small glasses of different flavored mini margaritas. I don't drink but I drank from each one and loved them all. She kept up with us when we needed her, she was very helpful. it was a nice atmosphere, not crowded at the time we got there. Would go back.

The food was really good, but the service and atmosphere was awful. The owner was at the location and didn't have the courtesy to handle our complaint. The bad thing was he witness the problem an ignored it himself. He sent his store manager out. So some of the employees were hanging out at the restaurant, which wasn't the problem. The problem was one employee was braiding another employees hair while we were eating. It took another server to approach them then they moved, by that time my appetite was gone. Needless to say I will not be returning. I do appreciate the employee getting his hair braided did come and apologize. My friend that I was having dinner with, she did insist we get our food for free.

The steak I ordered was rare when I ordered medium. Not once was I asked if steak was all right, was asked if I wanted steak sauce. Also, the spinach that comes out in a mini cast iron looking pan was cold. The ribs were tasty and service ok.
April J — Google review
A little slow for my server to get to my table after being seated. The food was pretty good. My steak was tasty but a tiny bit undercooked. The mashed potatoes had a smoky flavor. My whiskey sour was very good. Though not the restaurant fault, a family with a screaming child was nearby. This experience was better than I had at Longhorn.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is a delightful chain restaurant that embodies the essence of American comfort food, making it a perfect stop for those seeking a cozy dining experience. With its charming wooden interiors and warm yellow lighting, the atmosphere feels inviting and homey. While you wait to be seated, you can explore their on-site general store filled with unique gifts and nostalgic items, ensuring your time is well spent rather than just staring at the clock.
The amount of scrambled eggs appeared to be only one egg and not two. The pancake was a little tough and had to use a knife to cut it. There was very little cream cheese filling inside the pancake. Overall the meal was good and atmosphere pleasant.

Absolutely worst experience EVER! Waited a HOUR for the food. The French toast NEVER showed up until we were leaving. Did NOT offer full menu because it was the "day before Thanksgiving" the manager was the rudest I have EVER SEEN! WOULD NOT even come out of the kitchen to speak to us and had the message delivered that we could "just leave" without being charged. That's all well and good for the lousy food and service but be a manager and handle business if that's your title!! NEVER AGAIN will we go back to store #559!

I usually don’t write many reviews and not even sure how many I’ve actually posted before but I had to write this one. Went in to the Hampton location off Mercury Blvd for breakfast/brunch. I knew Sunday would be busy and was prepared for it so patience was absolutely already there from the beginning. However, the hostess seemed nice until I asked to be seated at a different table. She initially attempted to seat us at the table in the very front by the door where there would be patrons constantly walking past. My money my preference. I think at first she thought I was asking for the table to be wiped down again so she came over, attitude in tow and wiped the table down. I walked back over to the hostess desk and let her know that I was actually asking for a different table, away from the very front where everyone was standing to wait on a table. She said, in a very dismissive tone “we are busy and are trying to sit everyone down” I told her i understood but would rather another table away from the front and was willing to wait. She sort of rolled her eyes and then proceeded to seat the next guests at a table that i actually would’ve liked, skipping past the table I didn’t like. She then asked someone else to seat us. Ok, at this point I’m a little annoyed and wanted to leave but stayed. Our server comes and takes drinks orders. I asked for a sweet tea with lemons. She brings the tea without the lemon and I had to ask 2 additional times for my lemon. By the time she brought the lemon out, my tea was watered down so I had to ask for another tea. I ordered from the new item menu, the sausage hash brown casserole. It came with soooooo much country gravy that I thought, and had to ask was it mashed potatoes cause it looked NOTHING like the picture. Despite that it actually tasted decent but nothing I’d order again. The kicker was… we went to pay the bill and was standing in line to pay when one of the workers walks another patron out from the back (they appeared from the overheard conversation to know each other), straight to an open register and tendered their bill. Completely skipping those waiting in line. I was too disgusted and disappointed with the service and food to even ask for a manager but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a while.

The absolute WORST MEAL I’ve ever had from a CRACKER BARREL! This experience is worse than any DENNY’s!! After waiting FOR AN HOUR to get my food the French toast was stale!! I don’t mean over cooked, I mean stale like it was prepared a week ago!! In addition to that it was as cold as my delicious iced coffee!! Literally the only thing I would pay for in this entire meal is the apples and the coffees. The pancakes were not only cold from sitting idle for so long, they were burnt. We didn’t receive ANY syrup so we would be forced to eat the pancakes and the French toast dry if it was edible. I expect this experience from just about anyone else, but I thought Cracker Barrel was better than that. Do not go to this location, it’s true what they say about restaurants on mercury… I have yet to have a tasty experience on mercury ave. Take the drive and visit the Chesapeake location, it was the polar opposite of this location.

DISAPPOINTED is the best I can say. I ordered To Go meals for my husband and I. I have never experienced burned food from your company so imagine my surprise when I tasted the turnip greens. Terrible flavor as well as when I looked through there were visible burnt pieces of greens snd the stems. And if that was not enough the biscuits were hard. I called to complain was placed on hold, got someone finally they listened apologized and hung up. I called back asked for the manager he said she did not hang up, I beg to differ. I will be spending my money elsewhere. Looks like the staff including the manager need customer service training. I was complaining but definitely not rude so disappointed.

Horrible service, Long wait times, Employees will just let your online order get stolen. Waited over an hour in the lobby for my online order. To figure out that my order got stolen by someone before a got there (app said the order would be done at 1:25 I got there at 1:23 so it wasent sitting there for a while)and the employees didn’t even figure that out till 30 mins into waiting now it’s 1:55. I complained about the wait time to my gf next to me and an some muscular but short employee that just clocked off walked pasted as I said that had the nerve to say “Attest you didn’t wait the whole hour yet” as he went through the doors and left. I ended up getting my food at 2:32 and got home just to realize that there’s what looks like flat black slugs in my Mack in cheese whatever it is it doesn’t look natural and it doesn’t belong in Mac and cheese?!?!? Mind you I’ve gotten this mean EVERYTIME here and that black stuff has never been in the Mac and cheese.

I feel I had to write a review for my last time eating at Cracker Barrel. We came here for breakfast my wife and I on a Sunday, before the rush hour we didn’t order anything special. I ordered the steak(medium rare) and eggs and she ordered pancakes and eggs. We didn’t get our food for a whole hour later. My steak was completely well done. The eggs that were supposed to be over medium were rubbery and just off. Everything just seemed like it was sitting under a heat lamp and our waiter forgot about us. Yet he reminded us every like 5 minutes that our food should be out shortly. Other people that got there after us, got their food before us, ate, and left before we got our food. This was the worst experience at Cracker Barrel we have had.

Typical Saturday crowd after 10AM, busy & chaotic. But for a well managed and well staffed restaurant, that shouldn't be a problem. But this is not that place... We were seated after 10 minutes waiting at the general store. But it took 10 minutes before we were greeted by our server, then another 15 min for our drinks to arrive. Was totally pondering leaving when the drinks came. But wait, no one has silverware. Finally, we got our sets of silverware. When we looked, all the silverware appeared like they were just rinsed with no soap, nasty hard water spots and mystery stains all over. I used hand sanitizer and napkins to wipe and clean every single piece. Coffee creamer dish was extra greasy. Either someone buttered their hands then handled the dish, or it was not washed from the previous customer. Really should've walked at that point, but the little kids were starting to get hangry... I tried to block out the image of a dirty plate when our food arrived. Although it appeared delicious, it just didn't sit well with me and had to leave the bottom food layer making contact with the plate. Maybe it was just the wrong day to go to this place. Maybe most of the wait staff called out sick on that day, and the dishwasher broke... I'll just assume it's their off day. Maybe it won't be as bad on a different day of the week.

I used to love eating here as a kid through my young adult years. I don’t know what happened, or if maybe today was a bad day, but the food was inedible. The gilled cheese was a joke, and the tater tots were mushy and greasy. Definitely won’t be going back. Such a shame.

Super disappointed with our order today. Came and spent $48 for 3 chicken nugget trays and our burgers. We love Smittys chicken nuggets but when we got home to eat and opened the chicken nugget trays, they were literally Tyson dinosaur chicken nuggets and over fried. I literally have dinosaur chicken nuggets and fries in my freezer. I could’ve just saved the money and made them at home if I knew that’s what we were gonna be served and not the usual chicken nuggets. This is the 4th time in a row our food has been over fried also, I stopped getting the burgers because they have been burnt that last 3 times. Super disappointing

After all these years I finally got to try Smitty's. My father used to eat when he was a kid in the 50s. And I'm delighted to report that this place is amazing. The food is excellent and the service is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend the barbecue sandwich. It's the best I've ever had! Also it's a unique experience due to it being a drive-in. Love it!

They almost had me; But then they lost me! My service was very fast and friendly, my food was hot and my drink was great, but the food. I’d say no. The fries aren’t going to have any seasoning on them so, add salt and ketchup, but at least they were hot and crispy. The burger is where it’s shaky. The toppings override the entire burger and the flavor of the burger is subpar at best. The meat kind’ve becomes an afterthought since the flavor is missing and your really only tasting the toppings. The bun was also a tad firm and dry for me as well. Not the best but, I can say it was cheap and quick so it give them a try and see for yourself🤷🏾‍♂️.

I recently dined at Olive Garden and while the food met expectations, the service left a lot to be desired. After being seated, I waited over 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged my table — even though servers were actively assisting the table right next to mine. It wasn’t that the restaurant was too busy; it felt more like my table was simply being ignored. When someone finally approached, I placed my order and asked for a drink, hoping to enjoy it before the meal. Unfortunately, the drink arrived after the food, which defeated the purpose. Adding to the disappointment, the signature breadsticks something Olive Garden is well known for were missing when the entrée was served. They didn’t arrive until I was almost finished eating. That said, the food itself was consistent with what you’d expect from Olive Garden warm, flavorful, and comforting. The portions were fair and matched what you pay for. It's not gourmet, but it’s dependable, satisfying Italian-American fare. Overall, the food was on point, but the service brought down the experience. With just a little more attentiveness and better timing, this could have been a much more enjoyable visit. Hopefully, it was just an off day for the team.

We were first ignored then another server came to our attention and found that we had not been served yet. She was very nice but we did not catch her name. She was extremely overwhelmed at the time. Our appetizers were forgotten about and the atmosphere... Overall, horrible experience. We will never be back which is sad because we like our pasta. They have downsized their menu as well. Not that many options anymore.... But we feel really bad for our server... The manager did come over, but he had excuse after excuse on why our service was so bad. Yes , he gave us a small discount , but that's not acceptable... And the bathrooms are disgusting... Goodbye, Hampton.

After a horrible experience trying to go to breakfast for my daughters birthday she decided we would give Olive Garden a try for dinner. We had never visited this location until tonight. When we got to the front door we were greeted by a very pleasant hostess. She was a breath of fresh air. I wish I would have asked for her name. She told us it would be a 15 min wait and it ended up being less. She chatted with us a few times. We were seated and our waitress Devin was also amazing. She had the absolute best personality and her customer service was great. I was unsure what I wanted and she offered up suggestions and it ended up being amazing. She is hands down one of the best waitresses I have had in a long time. I can’t wait to come back when we visit again.

Nestled in the heart of Phoebus, El Diablo Loco Cantina & Tequila Bar is a vibrant haven for lovers of Mexican cuisine. Diners can indulge in an array of flavorful dishes while sipping on expertly crafted margaritas and other tequila-based drinks. The atmosphere is inviting and relaxed, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and lively gatherings.
Stopped by for a quick bite and was very pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and quick. Ordered a house margarita and two tacos, one Pollo, one Gringo. Both were very good. The margarita was good, though not the best I've had. They do have an extensive selection of tequilas. I read in another review that they thought the prices were high. I found them to be average. Pretty much the same as many other Mexican restaurants, but considering the quality of the food, quite a bargain.

My husband ordered tacos with various meats and shrimp, it was excellent. We are on vacation, I live in PA and without a doubt I would drive again to come here and it is 4 and a half hours. It is delicious.

5 stars across the board. We LOVED the food but I'll start at the beginning. The location is great. Inside is so chill and sat wherever we wanted. It was early so it was nice and quiet which we loved but I'm sure it turns into a good time later in the day!! Our server was great! Super attentive but not like TOO attentive. She was perfect 👍👍👌 Our drinks and food came fast! We both got the tacos dinner which u get to pick which 3 tacos u want!!! and beans and rice.!!! What!? We thought that was a great meal option. I got the pulled pork one, the brisket (or something like that), and regular ground beef and my boyfriend got the fish taco, a regular one and one other (I can't remember). 👌👌👌👌it was SO good, I had to write a short story about it. Can't wait to eat out leftovers! We are gonna go on our next day off FOR SURE.

From the 1960s Lucha Libre movies playing on the TVs above the bar to the midget wrestler posters and Loteria wall decor, El Diablo Loco is a trip to visit. The bar decor feels nostalgic but hip at the same time, and isn't trying to impress anyone. My favorite bar menu item is the "beer and a shot." It is literally just a can of Estrella beer and a shot of cheap tequila for $6. And it's a banger! Meanwhile, my two-year-old son destroyed a basket of chips and salsa while zoning out to masked wrestlers on the bar TV sets. I think the actors were wrestling a sea monster? Fascinating. Oh, about the food! You can't go wrong with the Taco Dinner Plate. You gotta choose three tacos out of maybe seven or so choices. Since I'm a glutton and love food, I also added a taco a la carte for like $4.95. You can't go wrong with any of the Taco choices--just more right. My favorite was probably the Pollo taco (fried), mainly because of the white crema and spicy fresh jalapenos it came with. One taco choice you can probably pass on is the Gringo. It's just too plain and heavy with ground beef when compared to the other taco choices. The portions are very fair. Most people will be able to finish all three tacos and the sides without leaving hungry or too stuffed. For sides, you can choose chips and salsa or rice and beans. Huge fan of the rice and beans--I didn't expect them to have so much flavor. I'm a big eater, and I was very full by the end of it. One of my friends couldn't finish her third taco, so I heroically finished it for her and had to roll myself out the door afterwards. I was five tacos, two beers, and one shot deep, and I'd do it all over again at El Diablo. Great place for an impromptu taco outing. Service was fast, friendly, and cool as hell. It was pretty affordable, too. For dinner for four people with beers and shots (and a toddler--no booze for him), it added up to about $113 before the tip. That included the chips and salsa trio appetizer, too. Highly recommend!

If you're on the hunt for a lively spot to enjoy great food and catch the game, look no further than The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille. This charming chain offers a casual atmosphere where you can indulge in mouthwatering burgers, tender ribs, and an impressive selection of brews. During my recent visit from New York, I was greeted by friendly staff who ensured that my dining experience was top-notch. My server Jasmyne was attentive and quick to provide recommendations that truly enhanced my meal.
Everytime I come to The Green Turtle my service and food is amazing. The atmosphere is not loud and, I can enjoy the time I am spending there! Regarding the food, I enjoyed it very much, it came out hot and we had to wait a bit for it to cool down. Exactly how we wanted it mind you! If you are ever in the area give this place a try. We will be coming back!

What a cute little sports bar and grille this is. I came from New York on vacation and was not disappointed by the food or service provided at The Greene Turtle. Upon arrival I told our waitress Jasmyne that I was super hungry and she made sure we got our food quickly and correctly. She was such an attentive server and checked in with us frequently. She answered every question I had, provided excellent recommendations and made sure to provide great service, not just to our table, but every table around us. I was very happy with the food and the service provided. They also had a Friday night karaoke where surprisingly almost every person sounded great lol. I felt like it was a live band show and I really enjoyed my time. We ordered the spinach dip for an appetizer which I would’ve bottled up and taken home if I could. We also got tacos and a carne Asada bowl which was just what I needed after a day of traveling. I will definitely be returning with family and friends.

Enjoyed the food! The waitstaff is very very slow, but the food and drinks made up for it (slightly). The crab dip grilled cheese wasn’t my favorite, they should just put regular lump crab instead of the crab dip plus more cheese!

I had a fantastic dining experience at this establishment, largely thanks to our exceptional server, Dakota. From the moment we were seated, Dakota went above and beyond to ensure our meal was memorable. He knew the menu and provided thoughtful recommendations for dishes and desserts. Each suggestion he made was spot on and elevated our dining experience. I can't recommend this place enough! If you're looking for excellent service and delicious food, ask for Dakota.

On 10/08/2025 I had the Ultimate Nachos. They were very hot and looked great from the top layer. After digging more into the dish there was sliced cheese in the middle and the bottom of the dish. Very disappointing. I know not to order them again. That was my 1st and last time. Hampton, VA

Got to do better with customer service to the hostess thanks for sitting quickly. Never got a waiter or waitress even after being noticed. To the waiter or waitress that would have had my table 🤔 just know I asked if someone needed a table do to the not very busy at all establishment and wanted to bless you as much as I could. We were visiting the Hampton area for our church convocation and decided to try a restaurant we don’t have in our local area — The Greene Turtle. This place was awesome! While the ambiance could use some updating, the food more than made up for it. Our order started with the spinach dip, followed by a Maryland crab cake sandwich with fries, a plant-based burger with coleslaw, and fish & chips. Everything was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. The Maryland crab cake was seasoned and cooked to perfection — you could taste the quality in every bite. No one at our table had a single complaint about their meal. Even the Arnold Palmer was spot on! We will definitely keep The Greene Turtle on our list of restaurants to return to when we’re back in the area. Highly recommend!

Golden Corral is a family-friendly buffet chain that offers a wide selection of American cuisine. Their all-you-can-eat buffet includes a variety of dishes made from scratch, such as pot roast and fried chicken. They also serve premium items like fried shrimp and hand-cut USDA Top Sirloin steak. In addition to the main courses, they have a salad bar and dessert bar with fresh baked cakes and pies. At breakfast, they offer made-to-order omelets.
I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. Conversations were easily understandable. The place was very clean not a bunch of tables full of trash. Very nice place I will go there again.

UPDATE! Vomiting & DIARRHEA 10hours later! Sick to my stomach all morning!!! STAY AWAY!!!!Super slow service, ICE COLD FOOD, I should have trusted other reviews, extremely limited selection of food. No new food or even butter replenished in over an hour. Such a sad experience from what my childhood remembers. No pepperoni pizza, and when it did come out fresh and hot it was disgusting no gummy bears for ice cream, no bread pudding, cold mash potatoes and Mac and cheese. Cold rolls :( meat loaf was gross

This Golden Corral was on my way, and I thought it was an excellent choice for a meal. It did not disappoint at all; everything was clean, and the freshly prepared food was excellent. Of the several Golden Corral locations I’ve visited, this one stands out because it offers a greater variety of food compared to others.

This location is slowly falling apart. Let’s start you walk in and get your own cup and drink yet there is 3 different ice machines and not 1 of them have ice. Next the smell of soggy carpets. Should have turned around at the ice machines. $90 later the food is cold. I literally watch the worker take the ham out oven yet it was the same temp as the crab salad. There was 1 bake potato. 1/3 of pans empty and need to be refilled. The ribs were barely cooked hard. My daughter waited 10min for pizza, watched the worker take the pizza out over sit it down and walk away. 4min later he comes back slices it and it’s burnt on bottom. The workers look tired which I understand it’s a busy environment but today is not busy. The drinks (lemonade taste acidic probably need the soda machine filters cleaned. All the fried food chicken and shrimp is burnt. It was probably cooked together because they were burnt showing same color. No vanilla ice cream, no cones for ice cream.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Let's start with there is currently no silverware to be found- asked our "server" and he pointed me in the direction of the bins which I informed him were empty. He then proceeded to give me 2 bags of silverware off another table. I'm sorry, my husband has stage 4 cancer sir, I don't know who touched these!! There are at least 6 empty food trays at the buffet with people standing around complaining that there is no food to get. I did manage to snag a piece of fried chicken and it is cold, somehow dry and greasy at the same time, and taste burnt. The broccoli is cold. We were told there is a 40 minute wait on steak and the man cooking them has promptly turned the grill up to inferno and they look like charcoal bricks right now. This is without a doubt the worst Golden Corral I have ever stepped in, $30.84 down the drain... walking out.

If I could I would give this place a zero star . If you want a buffet with FRESH HOT Food this place is not the place ,go somewhere else. I ask someone in the kitchen if they could make me a fresh cheeseburger , not so well ,well, well , well done like it burnt to Crispy. That you could bounce it off your plate. One of the rude manger she is short and heavy set, rude attitude and wearing a blue shirt did not let me to finish my sentence about my cheeseburger. What happened to customer Service? I was not expecting to eat cheese and ham from the salad bar. And manger arguing about how the meat should be cooked. One of the manager says it has to be well done and burnt. Just letting you know that everyone does not like well done burnt , dry meat . I wouldn’t even feed it to my dogs. I do not recommend the place to anyone .

LongHorn Steakhouse is a delightful casual dining chain that captures the essence of American cuisine in a charming ranch-style setting. During my recent visit to their Hampton, VA location, I was treated to an exceptional experience thanks to the attentive service from Tomika, who ensured our comfort throughout the meal. The ambiance is inviting and family-friendly, making it perfect for diners of all ages.
Definitely not my first visit but I had to post these stuffed mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. The stuffed mushrooms have a signature Parmesan and garlic cheese crust and served over a creamy four cheese sauce, literally perfect combination. The Brussels sprouts were delicious and the marinade they used to cook them in was perfect. My streak was of course spot on OutLaw Ribeye😎This steakhouse is literally hands down the best around. I absolutely love the consistency. Highly recommended and will definitely revisit

I wasn't impressed. The service was okay but not good. The food wasn't that good either. The waitress brought our drinks pretty quickly. I thought the tea was okay but my son thought it wasn't sweet enough. It took a while to bring bread to our table and when she did, the butter was hard. There was no way it would spread. My son thought the Parmesan crusted spinach dip was good but the pita chips were a bit greasy. I tried it, but didn't care for it. I ordered the steakhouse cheeseburger but it didn't have much flavor. It was supposed to come with their signature burger sauce but I guess they forgot that step. I also had the steakhouse mac & cheese. It was okay. I really like mac & cheese but theirs was just okay, nothing to rave about. When the waitress took away my plate, it took her a long time to bring the check ( and the restaurant wasn't all that busy). It's doubtful I will return.

🌟 I had a fantastic dining experience yesterday at LongHorn Steakhouse in Hampton, VA, and I want to especially thank Tomika for her incredible service! Tomika was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made sure we were comfortable at all times, bringing everything we needed without us even having to ask. Her attention to detail stood out—she started by bringing our salad first, followed by a delicious shrimp appetizer, and then came the star of the evening: the biggest T-bone steak I’ve ever seen! The steak was perfectly cooked (medium), and thanks to the marinade and seasoning, even the pink parts were tender and flavorful. The sear on the outside was beautiful, and the portion was generous—easily over a pound. The atmosphere at LongHorn was cozy and welcoming. There was a comfortable waiting area near the reception, which was a nice touch for those waiting for a table. And let me say—the prices were amazing. That huge T-bone steak, with two sides, was around $35, which I found to be an excellent value for the quality and portion. Thank you again, Tomika, for making our evening so enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back!

I went in because it did not seem busy and grabbed a seat at the bar. It took a while to get service, but I brushed it off. I ordered a margarita and it was not the best, but I let it go. I got my salad and bread an it was fine. When my food arrived I started to eat the steak. The ends were alright, but I ordered a medium steak. I can eat rare but I just prefer medium and I was given rare. By this time it has already been longer than I planned to stop for and there was no one to complain too anyways. I ended up just eating it and leaving. This experience was not great by any means and I was excited to eat here because it has been several years. If I could give it a zero I would. For 50$ I got ripped off. The picture below is my medium steak...

Very nice place. Well designed inside and out. The staff noticed us quickly and took us to be seated. They offered us fresh baked bread and butter. Their menu specializes in steaks, which are delicious. The flo steak was delicious. Tender and flavorful. Their drinks are fantastic. The y serve regular drinks as well as alcoholic ones. We had the mango lemonade, sweet and refreshing. The general ambiance is pleasant. It lends itself to families with small children as well as other patrons. Our waitress was pleasant, but bisy. However, then CJ, one of the hosts, came by and gave us information, asked us about to go containers, etc. The staff work together well to ensure the patrons are taken care of. There's plenty of parking. The disabled parking is right in front and provides easy access to the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit.

Needed a receipt..ask twice. 8..let's not forget the guy one table over on something.. sun glasses on taking to the loaf of bread on his table. The worst experience in a chain restaurant I have experienced in years. Stay clear . Eat some where else for your $ 60 plus dollars a person.

A total of 36 people so I asked her “what about the 30 people at the door waiting , she said “no matter wait you still have to wait because that’s how we do it here.it’s been an hour and a half now and we have been seated but no food yet. I give this 2 stars because of the chicken. We were seated promptly. Order taken. I also had a mixed drink. Once we received our food, we were never checked on again. I had to walk up to hostess and ask for salt and pepper. I probably would have had at least 1-2 more drinks if offered. The ribs were dry and over cooked. Honestly, it was just the chicken that was good, also bathroom was clean. Service -2 Food-2.5 The tables and floor was wet and when the time came for our bill, the people across from us, their tab was on ours, which I found interesting since they arrived so much later than us. I doubt we will go back to this location. If any at all, unfortunately.

Placed order for 2 Salads to go and upon opening them there was a brown spot which I thought was wilted lettuce but to my disbelief it was a hand towel from their napkin dispenser where you would wash your hands and as I brought them back to the restaurant and they verified that’s what it was and continued to apologize and wanted to have the audacity to offer me gift cards and all they could do is apologize this is beyond sick!!!! How does this Happen. Just Dirty!!!!!

In the past, I’ve left a lower rating for this particular location. We would drive to another one further away. Today we decided to try again. I’m pleased to share that they have made some improvements. The staff is working hard to keep the dining room clean. Our server, Kia (sp?) did an excellent job, was very attentive, and had a positive attitude with a smile. She genuinely seemed happy at her job. I noticed a few other severs that also seemed happy with positive attitudes. It made our dining experience more enjoyable. In the past we’ve had severs that seemed to be having very bad days and their performance reflected that. Our. Food was all delicious and exactly as we ordered it. Keep up the good work! The worst fajita’s I’ve have ever had. Cold beef, stringy , can’t say how many times I had to pull gristle out of mouth. Peppers were cold and actually I don’t think grazed a pan. Onions had been cooked at some point but cold. All cold. Tortillas served same plate but were kind of dry and crusty from sitting on a plate all day. All side things, salsa blah, sour cream..tangy :(.. guacamole and salsa dull brought on same plate in plastic containers, . Chef does not care at this restaurant, apparently management doesn’t either not sure how that happens. Service was great.

This is a hotel lobby bar that serves food, not a separate resturant. Food prices are exorbitant and quality is poor (like microwaved frozen food). Salads are very interesting, like something you'd make at home on a regular night. Burger bun was rock hard. Fries were cold. Salmon was terribly small. It was abysmal. The service at the bar, however, was very friendly and nice. But the prices - again - were super high. And the cocktail quality was lacking. It is convenient if you're in the hotel bc getting delivery food in this area seems to be a challenge, unless its pizza, so you're better off just going for carry out.

First and foremost, I'd like to applaud our waitress for handling this professionally and quickly. Secondly, I would most likely never eat here again. We both ordered the hrbt pasta, which is Alfredo noodles served with a choice of protein and grilled flat bread. The pasta dish itself is small and way over priced at $24, then an additional $8 if you want chicken or shrimp. When the food arrived, we were both thoroughly disappointed at the portion size. The "grilled flat bread" was a single piece of white bread, cut into 4 triangles and grilled with some butter. The Alfredo sauce initially tasted incredibly sweet. After another taste test, it was discovered it actually just tastes like maple syrup or French toast. I'm not entirely sure how that is possible, but we immediately returned the dish to the kitchen. This incident both made us uncomfortable with ordering additional food from the restaurant and we left. The restaurant did offer us anything else on the menu as well as taking the dish off the tab. 1 star for food 5 stars for service And 3 stars for atmosphere. It's in a noisy, echoey hotel lobby. 3/10 would definitely not recommend

The atmosphere is vibrant, featuring frosty beers and flat-screen TVs that make it the perfect spot to catch your favorite game while enjoying classic American fare.
I been getting wings to go recently and everything is always so fresh and ready to go as soon as I get there. I think I've only had one order of wings that was a little over cooked but still good. I will say some of the sauce options were not available online so that was disappointing.

Placed an online order at 6:06 Pm. The order confirmed it would be ready at 6:26. I arrived and walked into Hooters at 6:27. My order was sitting on the bar. The bartender was friendly and quickly handed me the order. I happen to notice the bag was cold. I would have expected to feel at least some heat since I had 20 freshly fried chicken wings inside. I took the order home and sat down to eat at 6:47, just 20 minutes after the order was supposed to have been prepared. $34 worth of chicken wings were completely cold to the touch, not even a little warm. I had to microwave my wings before eating. This is highly disappointing to me. Also the wings seemed dry and old, like they had been sitting for a long time. I won’t choose Hooters again, unless I’m eating at the restaurant.

Service was horrible start to finish. I understand being busy, but sitting at a dirty table for nearly 10 minutes with no greeting is not okay. When she finally came over after spending most of that 10 minutes changing channels I was kindly letting her know I asked another waitress to clean the table but she cut me off and walked away. The waitress I asked to wipe the table also had an attitude, but I only asked her because she was the only one I saw walk by our table several times in that 10 minute span. When she came back there was still no greeting or introduction, just what can I get you to drink. Part of my food order came out with no communication about the rest of my food coming. When it did come, she dropped it and walked off. At the end of our meal, I let her know she could take my card when she came to buss, completely ignored me and walked off. When she dropped my card and payment recipe off at the table, she dropped it off from behind me without saying a word. You know the service is bad when your 7 year old says “why is nobody paying attention to us!” who had an iPad in her face the whole visit. I work in the service industry so I am always very understanding but the service was just unacceptable.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful breakfast, brunch, or lunch experience that prioritizes health and freshness, look no further than First Watch. This charming café chain is revolutionizing fast-casual dining by focusing on locally sourced ingredients that are prepared fresh upon order. Unlike many of its competitors who rely on frozen or pre-cooked items, First Watch takes pride in serving dishes made from scratch.
This was my second visit to First Watch having tried another location recently and was very pleased by the consistently good food and service. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained and the menu has something for everyone. The prices are competitive and the food was hot and delicious. They also offered me a to-go cup of coffee as I left. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

This is one of my favorite brunch spots. I have a friend that meets me monthly and the call or text will start are you free for brunch tomorrow? Sure were? And both of us text First Watch. This is going on now close to a year. I’m right now deciding when I text the July invite it will just be brunch at First Watch. Why? First the place is awesome centrally located at least for us, at Von Schilling. The vibe and energy as soon as you walk in you pick up the positive energy from the crowd already there enjoying themselves. And I have never walked in and been able to see more than 3 empty tables. They just stay busy. And the crew from Greeters, to servers, to the cashier at meals end are so polite and friendly they want to make their customers feel welcome. Ok the food. Wow what a great menu if you want traditional breakfast they have it eggs, any way, sausage, bacon, toast. But step it up they have awesome skillets that have amazing components you might not have thought to use for brunch. They also have soups, salads and sandwiches for lunch. And in addition to the regular fountain sodas. There’s a selection of fruit juice pick me up/ nutrition drinks. First Watch is definitely a dining stop to add to your list. You will leave satisfied with a smile on your face. And making plans for your next visit.

Showed up on a Sunday AM before Church rush. 3 of us, took about an hour in-and-out. Server was nice, fast, and correct. Manager checked in on us during the visit too. Had two seasonal menu items and a regular menu item. Wait was approx 5 min for a table, and about 15-20 min after ordering our food.

I ordered online and came to pick up. Tipped 20% too! Well when I got home my blueberry muffin had a bite out of it. I have a kidney infection and am trying to eat healthier especially during recovery. This is so unfortunate. I won't be back. Hope whoever ate damn near the whole top of the muffin enjoyed it. Cause now I don't trust the rest of the food 🙃 Karma will get ya boo 👎

I’ve never been disappointed by First Watch. The staff is friendly. Every time, the food is on point. I’ve been coming here for five years and the seasonal menus are a highlight. If you want a good breakfast this is just the spot. Get there early to avoid the wait, but even with a wait this place is worth it. Pictured is their current Fall seasonal menu, brazing dragon lemonade and their breakfast chicken hash. Both outstanding.

La Parrilla Mexican Grill is a laid-back eatery that serves up a delightful array of traditional Mexican dishes, including tacos, quesadillas, and fajitas. Diners rave about the generous portions, especially the Extra Medium Salsa and the Chori Pollo, which consistently impress with their flavor and freshness. While some guests have experienced minor hiccups with service or specific orders—like receiving only one Chile Relleno instead of two—the overall dining experience remains enjoyable.
It was our first visit and it was great! Everything is fast, the staff is friendly, clean! delicious food and large portions, we will definitely come back!

This wasn’t the first time I came here. It’s been 2-3 years and decided to come here for lunch. What I don’t understand is why the kids menu for beans, came as chili beans? How does a 1 year old eat chili in their beans? So we had to order black beans too. The service was slow for some reason when we went. There’s lots of people at the front desk, but not enough waitresses & waiters to take our order. However our food was delicious. I prefer Plaza Azteca for their food & amazing service by far.

My first visit here and was very pleased. Our waiter was very friendly and our food was served within 15 mins. Of course I ordered the Birria Tacos😅. Delicious I must say and seasoned very well. The red sauce was a lot spicy but it was definitely a perfect combination on my tacos. I will definitely revisit and highly recommended

Had a great time. Didn't take many photos as I was at a family dinner. But the margaritas were large. The table side guacamole was delicious and there were lots of options to chose from. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean Parking was easy. Will definitely be back Make sure to order your margaritas early on so you have time to finish them!.

Today, it appears there was a miscommunication on someone's part. I ordered Carne Asada tacos, which I have previously received without issue. However, the waiter brought ground meat tacos, and I verified that my order was indeed for their Carne Asada tacos. The waiter confirmed that this is how the dish is prepared. I am interested in understanding how this discrepancy occurred between what I received and what is advertised on their DoorDash menu.

Nice authentic place for lunch, convenient location from Williamsburg to Virginia Beach. Great food and service, large portions, tasty food. Maybe a little bit more on the salty side and more spices for my taste, but my family really likes the flavors. We had burrito Mexicano, Enchiladas and regular burritos. My favorite was the dessert, cheesecake chimichanga with ice cream on the side, delicious!

The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting—ideal for groups who can't quite agree on what to order.
Wanted to add my review of this restaurant because my husband and I love these smaller, homey places. We've both worked in the food industry our whole lives. Service was great. Server was new but very on top of everything and personable. I got chicken alfredo and it was great. Not overwhelmingly rich. Chicken was so flavorful. We also go the Athenian platter and it was huge and delicious. Dessert were fantastic and definitely looked homemade. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely this place a try!

This is one of those places where you would go when you want comfort food, but better than diner quality. The portions are large and the food is good. It's not the best Italian food I've ever had, but it's better than most. The selection is large and the service is great. The French onion soup was cheesy and delicious. The feta burger was a good texture with lots of cheese! The pizza to me could have used more cheese, but it was still good heated up the next day. And the Italian combo platter is huge, enough to feed two. I can't speak too highly of the side salad. It was just okay and not as good as the soup for a side. But overall, it's a good comfort food type of restaurant that you will have good solid food at.

Went to Ricco's because Fertittas next door was closed at the time. There wasn't a lot of people dining in, but there were quite a few delivery orders and call ins, they only had 1 person running the counter. She was taking calls, handling door dash drivers, and waiting tables by herself. She did her best, luckily someone showed up to help as I was leaving. That was a management problem, nothing against her efforts. That being said, food was great and reasonably priced, would consider going again.

We ate lunch as a party of 8 VERY patient people. We knew they were down a server and therefore knew we were in for a little extra wait time but not a whole two hours of it. We sat waiting for a xL pizza, grilled cheese sandwich and a lamb gyro. The kitchen was apparently slammed and poorly managed. The grilled cheese came out as two pieces of lightly browned bread and two slices of unmelted American cheese. How do you screw up something as basic as grilled cheese, TWICE? The remake was only half cooked. My lamb gyro was burnt, and tasted more like pork sausage than lamb. The fries, the easiest thing of all to not mess up, were cardboard; obviously a low quality frozen product. Thank goodness the pizza for the rest of our party was good, as everyone else ate it up. The server apologized profusely for all the problems, and we understood, none of it was her fault of course. But until they get their staffing and kitchen issues under control, I would steer well clear of this place.

I ordered a 4 pizzas for me and my coworkers. I ordered carry out because I assumed it would be quicker. After about an hour of my tracker not updating I decided to just go up there. When I got there it was only 1 guy working in the back. The 2 others appeared to be not doing anything. When one individual came to the register to assist me, they were also on checking their phone and smiling at whatever the messages they were reading. After finding the order I had placed using the dominoes app, they asked if it will be ok to wait an additional 30 mins to prepare my order. I explained that I had placed the order a little over an hour ago. They apologized and said they had just arrived to work. Meanwhile one guy is in the back getting a delivery order together and the other worker back there looked as if he really didn’t have anything to do. I was very disappointed because it seems that I always have an issue with this location.

Food is always great. But I have to say it is a much better experience when your servers are the waitresses. They at least speak and say thank you and are very friendly. When the owners wait on you they don't speak except to take you order. I think it must kill them to say thank you or act like they appreciate your business.

If you're on the hunt for authentic Thai cuisine that truly delights, look no further than Little Thai Kitchen! This charming eatery, affectionately named after its beloved 78-year-old chef known as Grandma Noi, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with friendly service from family members. Although it's cozy with just a handful of tables, the portions are generous and packed with flavor. Diners rave about dishes like pineapple fried rice loaded with veggies and creamy crab rangoon served alongside a delectable dipping sauce.
We frequently find ourselves in this establishment when we are looking for good portion to price ratio; always leaving satisfied! This was also the first Thai place within the 757 that has provided a substantial spice level when we request. I always order the crab rangoon, deliciously creamy and the sauce with it is a good addition. The curry empanadas were perfectly flaky. For soup I had pork wonton with broth so amazingly spicy and silky wonton! Our main dishes were Thai orange chicken and chicken fried rice. The orange chicken comes with rice and a delicious sauce tuned to my spice level and perfectly breaded chicken pieces. The fried rice has enough for two servings to save for later! For valentines we purchased dessert for the first time which was the sticky rice with mango. The mango was fresh and the rice was sweet but not too sweet. The owner is very appreciative of their patrons and service is always on top of their game. The establishment has four tables but typically people order out so most times you can find a place to sit in. Dining area is always clean and they play a combination of Thai music and 80s music. Atmosphere is superb for this hidden gem. The Thai tea is amazing, I get it every time. Each entree you order earns you a stamp on a punch card towards a free drink!
Skyler C — Google review
Personally the food is ok. I had better Thai curry puffs, pad Thai & fried rice, but for the price it was good. I got lots of food under $50 so it’s not bad. If you’re however looking for quality food, and don’t mind a road trip to NC, I recommend Totally Thai or Thaijindesu in Newport News.

The girl working was the sweetest and the restaurant was clean and cute. We ordered Pad Thai and did not like the flavor of the chicken. Everything else was very tasty but we also felt it was much to runny more like a soup than what we are used to having at Thai restaurants.

This is now my Thai spot!

Don't let the size or location fool you. This place is absolutely amazing! Decided to stop on a whim and am I so glad that we did! Food was amazing and fresh, service was polite and fast. We love the food and the team providing it! It’s fresh and delicious, and the staff is so nice every time we order, which is about every other week. If you're looking for a delightful dining experience, Red Lobster is the place to be! Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting their Hampton Mercury Boulevard location, where we were warmly welcomed by Mrs. Yolanda, the general manager. She truly went above and beyond to ensure our family had an unforgettable evening. The staff's friendliness made us feel valued and eager to return. Our server Alyssa was nothing short of amazing!
Alyssa is an amazing server!!! She made my party's night. She handled 4 tables simultaneously including ours and did it flawlessly with poise and grace. She frequently checked with us to make sure we had everything we needed for our meal. My mother and I will definitely be back and we will be asking for Alyssa by name to be our server again. Terrible experience. We got here at 3:30 we didn’t get our food until 4:25. The food arrived and it was rushed we didn’t get napkins we didn’t get wipes to wipe our hands. We didn’t get plates for the bread after asking several times. And my son got sick because of all of the butter that was in the boil. The broccoli was over cooked and she got my order wrong. It was so much going on we just stopped asking for them to accommodate us for there wrong doings from the jump. We really should’ve never went once we walked in the restaurant and smell of the bathrooms wrecked through the restaurant. If you go there today you can actually smell it. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had after finally finding a red lobster because of the out of business around the country. I would never again go back to one. The lack of management showed today. And it’s very unfortunate to see a child hood restaurant do this after years of experience. Maybe the others are good. But Hampton VA I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I spent $150 and it was terrible. I will be posting it on my food review channel.

I just want to take a moment to give some recognition to the general manager Mrs. Yolanda at your Hampton Mercury boulevard location. My family dined at your establishment this evening and she went above and beyond on several different occasions throughout our evening to make sure we had a memorable time. When customers feel valued they want to return and Miss Yolanda made that happen tonight! All of the staff was warm and welcoming and our family can't wait to come back again! Friendly faces like Michael's the gentleman who made our favorite cheddar biscuits tonight and an atmosphere like that makes me a returning guest.. the food is also just as exceptional as the service and my kids are already asking when we can dine in again!

Food turned out good but service was terrible. Food took over an hour to come out and no one came to refill my drink whole time I was there. There wasn’t a lot of people there either so I don’t know why there was a long wait. I finished my food and no one never came up to give me my check. I asked for a manager and I was finally able to pay for my food and get a box. The only accomodation I got was a “sorry” and a 10% discount. I asked for biscuits to go and she said it would take about 10 minutes which is crazy because that is the first thing they are suppose to give you when you sit down. I waited like 20 minutes and asked one of the servers that walked by for it and she brought them out not even minutes later even though I was told 10 mintues. An older couple had left also because they were taking forever. I was very patient the whole time, but I will not be coming to this location again. I came in about 1:15 pm and didn’t leave until 3:20 pm.

Worst red lobster we ever visited. Served 1 refill totally forgot about mine. Server didn't bring out the entire order then the manager refused to take the item off the bill. Asked for the manager who never even bothered to come out. Totally makes me rethink if I will ever even step foot into another red lobster.

I gave it 3 stars because the service was ok. The food was bland and the crab leg small!! The server said they go by weight. The picture in the menu is the size of crab leg I was expecting. Good atmosphere. Gouda steak mac and cheese was awesome. It can be very loud when the band is playing. You may need a light to see the menu at night. No smoke inside . Great! A decent size dance floor. There was a DJ when the band went on break, decent! Check it out!

First time going. I thought the food was good. The grilled cheese rib sandwich was good. I think it could have been better with a sauce to dip in for more flavor, otherwise the rib was tender and cheese was melted perfectly. The service was alright. The server did the best she could with about 20 people, but it did take some time.

This was my first visit here. It was quiet for a Friday night... (the live band canceled). The server was really attentive and extremely nice. The Vanguard burger and the mushroom Swiss burger were both good, cooked to order, and served hot. I wasn't a fan of the French fries though... I was told the Caesar salad was "too wet", so ask for the dressing on the side if you don't like a lot of dressing. All in all, a great experience!

Service was exceptional. sat at the bar. ordered GOAT, mushroom swiss, and Vanguard burgers. All were amazing but the GOAT was a standout with the blueberry jalepeno BBQ sauce. Also had red ale and stout. stout was on the sweeter side with plenty of chocolate and coffee notes. the red ale is balanced and smooth. Enjoyed the caiseal bourbon and the single malt whiskey . Will be back!

⸻ I ordered a burger for delivery and unfortunately, it arrived nearly raw in the middle. There was not an option to choose how the burger is cooked or a place to write a note for it. I would think it should at least be prepared well-done by default — especially considering it’s going to sit in a delivery bag for a while. Eating an undercooked burger especially sitting during transit is not only unappetizing but also a food safety concern. Disappointed with the lack of care in preparation.

We went for trivia night. The place huge with high ceilings. There were 20 people, maybe in there. My friend and I arrived late for the event and were not acknowledged by anyone. We didn't play and were happy we didn't. The trivia questions were so hard, few players got the answers. One question was "what is the chemical coposition of acitone?" Who knows that except a scientist? The kitchen service was slow. I ordered the pretzel appetizer and the Armory burger, no mustard, catchup and mayo on the side with a side cesar salad. Pretty basic stuff. I wasn't asked how I wanted the burger cooked. It came out medium rare. Slightly underdone for me. The meat was spoiled. It tasted and smelled funny. My friend confirmed before I complained. They comped the burger. The salad was good. They did not skimp on the shaved parmesian cheese. The pretzels never arrived and they were comped as well. The server was so cool about the whole thing. She was amazing. We will not be going back there again. I recommend that you stay far away from their food. We didn't drink alcohol. I can't speak to that.

Been here twice now. Both times we went there was only about 3 other tables dining at the restaurant. Kind of shocking the line isn't out the door like every other place because the food is absolutely amazing. It's all you can eat but you order what you want as much as you want and the waitress brings it to the table. We have tried all kinds of sushi, hibachi scallops, seafood lo mein, crab Rangoon, spring rolls, shrimp tempura and more everything is hot and fresh and made to order. Much higher quality than your typical buffet food. Both times we went I was amazed by the freshness and quality of the food cooked to perfection. The sauces were also very good. This is definitely by far my favorite sushi place that exceeds all others. Our bill today (Sunday) was only 41.00 for 2 people. We would have paid at least that eating anywhere else and again, it's all you can eat so we got a lot of food.

I only give such a low rating because the environment of this restaurant is abysmal at best. The floor was sticks through out and the tables and walls had sauce splatter on most of the booths. The bathroom looked like a full on brawl happened. Water everywhere, stall doors hanging on for their life, no proper lighting. (as seen in photo) The bathroom door had a slimy film over the while thing. I didn't feel safe touching it, but how else was I supposed to get out of that nightmare? Anyways, our waiter was amazing despite the overall cleanliness of the restaurant so the staff definitely makes up for the lack of corporate taking care of the place. The sushi wasn't great, barely any filling in most of the rolls I ordered. The hibachi was good. Overall would never go back to this place. If you care about your health, I'd advise you don't either.

While staying nearby on business, my husband and I decided to give Sushi King a shot due to its close proximity to our hotel. The location was definitely the best part of it for us — we found street parking nearby, which was convenient, and the restaurant itself was nicely presented. That said, there were a few things we didn’t enjoy. The drink selection was very limited, and we didn’t appreciate that they only offer all-you-can-eat sushi. According to our server, you can’t simply order a few rolls of your choice, which we would have preferred. We tried to make do with wine, but it tasted very much like it came from a box. We ended up having one glass, tapping out, and leaving. On top of that, although the restaurant itself was nicely presented, the bathrooms were disgusting, which further detracted from the experience. Unfortunately, it simply was not for us, and we will not be returning.

This place has really gone down hill. We haven’t been here in many years and they used to have sushi appetizers and decent sushi. Very few of the rolls are any good anymore. It feels so run down. The hostess whispered something to the other girl at the front and they giggled as she was grabbing the menus for me so some of the staff are unprofessional. Our waiter was great. Also a note that isn’t as bad but worth noting: in a nearly empty restaurant they sat me, someone who walks with a cane) all the way in the very back of the restaurant.

The manager was incredibly helpful and kind, and she truly took care of me as a customer. While I waited for my to-go order, she even offered me water and was very attentive. I had a wonderful experience here, and I’ll definitely be asking for gift cards to this location for my birthday and holidays!
Erika S — Google review
My boyfriend was excited to take me here for dinner because I have never been. I must say, I have never met such a cold hostess in my life, Destiny. She saw us waiting for a hostess as she walked past. Did not say hi. She appeared to be completely miserable. We all have bad days but dang. She made me not want revisit because when we were seated, she took our drink order and said ok… I ordered a mix drink. She neglected to inform us that they did not serve liquor, I found that to be extremely rude. Nor did she offer a drink menu or come back to tell us the drink I ordered would never be served. Dinner was not busy for a Saturday evening. The decor is modern and the place was clean. It was disappointing that the salad bar was not open nor the ice cream machine. Unfortunately, it seems that their prices have gone up $5 but offer less. Regardless, the food we ordered came out hot and fresh and we have no complaints on any of that. Our server was being trained and doing excellent. Both of them were very nice and attentive. I would like to try the one in Newport News.

Place is dirtier and dirtier every year. If you look closely. The carpets in areas that are harder to vacuum and clean have become extraordinarily dirty. Lack of cleaning. Can only imagine what the kitchen looks like and I will never come here again. THE NEWPORT NEWS LOCATION IS 10 times better just not as appealing to the eye due to the nice location of the Hampton restaurant. This Hampton location has let me down time and time again. I live 3 mins away so I keep trying and every time it basically sucks. Newport News / Jefferson ave location is the best by far. Have a great day.
Richard M — Google review
Been here plenty of times before but I’ve noticed that recently the service has been getting worse. This last time I went with my family right at opening, they had me waiting almost 30min for just appetizers, edamame, crab Rangoon, and some tiny corn dogs I ordered for my kid, while everyone around me got their appetizers and food and plenty more orders in… I still had to pay the $54 as if I’d eaten a full meal. I don’t usually mind waiting, but when the people around me, that came in 5-10min after I did, get the same appetizers I ordered before I do, yeah it’s a bit crazy…

Nestled in a cozy corner, Pho 79 Bar & Grill is a delightful Vietnamese eatery that truly shines with its signature pho. This charming spot offers an array of authentic dishes, including spring rolls, sugar cane shrimp, and lemongrass chicken. Guests can also indulge in Bahn mi sandwiches, rice bowls, and vermicelli plates that showcase the rich flavors of Vietnamese cuisine. The inviting decor adds to the experience while the friendly staff ensures you feel right at home.
The food was very tasty. The Thai tea was delish and the spring rolls were yummy. It’s a lowkey old school vibe, but there was definitely a dank smell in the back near the entrance/exit close to the bathrooms. Service was very fast and excellent!

I recently had the chance to eat at a Vietnamese restaurant and ordered the Pho Tai—it was outstanding. The broth was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. They really nailed it. You could tell it had been simmered for hours, with layers of beefy depth and just the right amount of spices. Every spoonful was comforting and satisfying. What really stood out to me was how similar the experience was to another pho spot I love—Pho 79 in Miami. I’m not sure if this place is part of the same chain or if it’s just a coincidence, but both locations deliver that authentic, deeply flavorful pho experience that’s hard to find. Either way, I’m not complaining—they both know exactly what they’re doing. The Pho Tai came with the usual garnishes—fresh herbs, bean sprouts, lime, and jalapeño—which added a great contrast to the warm, savory broth. The beef was tender, and the noodles were just the right texture. The service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was clean and casual. Whether it’s part of Pho 79 or not, this place has definitely earned a spot on my go-to list for pho. Highly recommended for anyone craving a comforting, delicious bowl.

Absolutely love love love my meal. My first visit here at Pho 79. I ordered P4. Round Steak, Flank & Brisket – Pho Tai, Nam, Gau. And trust me it was flavorful with all the right combinations. I also ordered a strawberry and pineapple boba it was more like milk shake. I will probably not order that again and it was made fresh. My order came to $30, a bit on the high end for lunch but I highly recommend and will revisit.

Pho 79 in Hampton did not disappoint! Ling did her thing — the service was warm, quick, and friendly. I ordered the beef egg noodle stir fry, and it was absolutely top tier. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the noodles had that perfect texture, and the beef was tender and seasoned just right. You can tell they cook with love here. Definitely my new go-to spot when I’m craving something fresh and flavorful!
Caitlin J — Google review
Very cute decor inside the restaurant, service is good and food tastes very authentic. We ordered a large beef combo pho, a combo bami and a combo fried rice, everything was very delicious. The fried rice in particular was the highlight of the meal! The bami was slightly under stuffed, I feel like it could use just a slight bit more of the daikon/carrot pickle. A note on the portion size, we were able to finish all 3 dishes pretty easily between 2 people, but also my boyfriend have a big appetite. Overall a great experience, we will 100% come back next time we are in the area, with how close pho 79 is to our hotel!

My first time trying Pho79 was a call in pickup order for the P4. It was absolutely amazing and I could never stop thinking about it after ordering. It was so delicious! Today was my second time ordering and I went in to make a to go order. Not only is the food SO flavorful, it has a beautiful cozy interior AND the customer service was amazing. Ling helped me order today and she’s so beautiful on the inside and out. The food was good enough to bring me back but the customer service and kindness was what won me over. I will recommend this place to EVERYONE!

I’ve been coming to this place for years. Every single time I order my food, it’s the same, incredibly delicious. What I love most about this place, it’s become a “comfort zone” for me. There are times when I just need to come here, order a bowl, have some water or tea and my day is instantly better. The staff is extremely accommodating, attentive and when you come as much as I do, they will put my order in without me even asking what I want. I appreciate them more than they know. Recently, the lovely ladies Ella, Ailani and Ling along with the young chef in the back, made my night! These ladies are always polite, attentive and patient with customers. The manager is my girl! Be sure to ask for any of these ladies when you come in. They will ensure you’re taken care of. This is a restaurant with great food for many, but to me, it’s home. Thank you!!!!

I get the Chicken Phö and some sort of tea. They have this Lemon Ginger tea and I love it! They always bring a side of honey for the extra throat soother. My allergies are up with the seasons pollen count, so that is GREAT! I had fried wonton I'm still not sure about, but the chicken broth is so good! I realize I can by it at the store, but this stuff doesn't taste like a box like the store ones. There are 2 servers: Ella and Lynn that always help us.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, "Closed" is a modern diner that specializes in hearty Southern cuisine, perfect for breakfast and lunch. This charming spot boasts a classic diner ambiance and offers an array of comforting dishes with a seafood twist. Guests rave about the flavorful hamburger steak served with perfectly mashed potatoes and fresh okra, which seems to be hand-breaded for that extra touch.
The food was excellent! We had breakfast, honey ham and eggs, and a corned beef hash and eggs. Both meals were very good. Special mention goes to the honey ham and corned beef themselves, they were very tasty! We would definitely return to Brandon's if we were back in town. They really know how to do breakfast meats down south!

Well don’t waste the time in the steak 🥩 3/10 never 👎 buying again. I seen the kind of meat and ask for it rare to give it the best chance. But came to the table over cooked still 🫣🫠… it was no life left in the cow The eggs I ask to be cook easy 👎 nope. But they are the average diner scrambled eggs make sure to add salt and pepper. 4/10 I would order them again. Well the pancakes 🥞 what I came for. And they are nothing near Tommy’s with the crispy edges on the pancake. But they are large in size and taste okay. 6.5-8/10 The syrup is trash real thin but not very sweet. Which is okay for me honestly but not most. Over all I would give them another try. Not the omelette I seen it made very thin.

Great local diner. Visited for the first time today. The restaurant was exceptionally clean, the service could not have been better. Has a classic diner feel and menu. Had the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and okra. The hamburger steak was very flavorful! Not just a lump of meat. It was slathered with thinly sliced and grilled onions and peppers also covered in the perfect amount of brown gravy. The fried okra seemed to have been hand breaded? It was very fresh and firm. Not overcooked. The coffee was a bit weaker to what I'm used to but it was kept hot with constant refills.

Food and staff were great. Staff was super friendly, definitely had that home town diner feel. Food was great and reasonably priced, two omelets, pancake and coffee all under $35 dollars. Great hole in the wall diner. Definitely coming back.

I have been going to Brandon’s Kitchen for 16 years now but after today I will not return. Food prices have drastically increased here while portion sizes have shrunk. I always order the pancakes because they are the best. Today my pancakes shrunk in size, were flat, and disgusting. I asked about the much smaller size and the server said it was because they were sticking to the pan but yet I was charged full price for a half portion of pancakes. While I used to always brag about this place, I will now be enjoying breakfast elsewhere.

This place was absolutely amazing for the food! The service was excellent and the food was warm and delicious. Our waitress was so friendly. However, the rest room was very bad. It was hotter than the sun and there was rust stains on the outside of the stall and part of the ceiling was coming undone. Overall a great experience except for the restroom which definitely needs some work and to be cleaned better.

Great stop for a quick affordable breakfast! 🔹 Things I loved: - Kids meal with eggs, bacon, and pancake was the perfect size - Banana pancakes were delicious, bananas perfectly ripened - Cheesy eggs were quite good - Bacon nice and crispy but not over cooked 🔹 Size of establishment (S, M, L): medium 🔹 Quality of service: friendly and efficient 🔹 Price: very affordable 🔹 Decor: diner style 🔹 Indoor/Outdoor seating: indoor 🔹 Scenic View: no 🔹 Specials?: yes 🔹 Wait Time: none 🔹 Reservations: probably not 🔹 Entertainment: no

Nestled in a humble strip mall, Krung Thai Street Grill in Hampton, VA is a delightful haven for those seeking authentic Thai cuisine. This charming eatery boasts an extensive menu featuring mouthwatering noodle dishes, vibrant stir-fries, and rich curries that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The inviting atmosphere makes it perfect for casual dining with friends or family.
A good friend told me about this restaurant. Never really paid attention to, but pass this place on a daily basis. Decided to try it out. I was not disappointed. Ordered the shrimp fried rice with extra shrimp. Fresh and delicious, and made to order. Costumer service was excellent. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. MY NEW SPOT.

Authentic Thai flavors! The dishes are always served fresh with delicate broths and delicious spices. Homemade and authentic is what keeps us coming back. More than a little pricey and small portions. But after trying many, many local thai restaurants, we continue to return to Krungthai for the truly authentic, simple thai flavors. The thai iced tea is one of my favorites around, too. That, too, is not for a small price tag. It's really a big splurge when we go! The friendly service and family recipes keep us wanting more. May I suggest mango and sticky rice 🥭 🍚 for every visit 😋 When mangos are not in season, they're not available but always go for the fried bananas in lieu of. My favorite dish is the prik king with the perfect balance of heat and flavor. For a comfort dish, I always turn to drunken noodles or any of the delicious curry dishes. The red curry is an all-time favorite in comparison to anywhere I have ever had it. The pad thai is hit or miss. Though that's really only what I suggest for those who don't enjoy any heat as Parr of their meal. I would suggest trying each menu item at least once. Nothing disappoints. Family owned and operated. I wish whoever is responsible (restaurant owners or the owners of the building) would address whatever issue is causing the standing water smell. That is the only complaint.

My coworker and I came to this Thai restaurant after our usual spot was really busy, and we were pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked in. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I had the beef salad while my coworker ordered the massaman curry and the spring rolls. The beef salad was good overall, though the cucumbers had a sour taste. I still enjoyed it, just skipped the cucumbers. Everything else was great, and overall I would definitely return to this location.

The place itself was very cute, nice atmosphere. The service was lovely, lady was very nice. My order was not ok. Drunken noodle chicken was ground chicken and not breast strips. Will Not eat here again. It was nice to try a new place but unfortunately not a good experience.

Krung Thai Street Grill is a dream come true for lovers of Thai food. The standards are so exacting—and so scrupulously maintained—that I believe it is safe to say that if the owner’s grandmother showed up for lunch or dinner, she could find nothing that would not remind her of her childhood! As Krung Thai Street Grill is far from my house, it had been too long since my own last visit. But today I put myself in the neighborhood, knowing I would never be disappointed. In my book it has always deserved five stars. And today I decided to photograph everything, and planned to write this review. The main highway running east and west in Hampton is Mercury Boulevard. Sadly you cannot SEE Krung Thai Street Grill from Mercury Boulevard—I checked that today from both directions. So you must exit Mercury Boulevard onto N. King Street, heading north. Krung Thai Street Grill will then be in the small shopping center at the first left turn at the traffic light. Today’s lunch was “back to basics” for me, starting with the heavenly aroma of a generous bowl of the lemon grass soup with three fresh shrimp and many straw mushrooms known as Tom Yum Goong. You can eat everything in the bowl except the slices of lemon grass and a couple of bay leaves—and you will be glad you did! The same soup with chicken rather than shrimp is known as Tom Yum Gai, and it is equally delicious! But today I chose to have the chicken as a salad known as Larb Gai, which has always been a very popular Thai dish of ground chicken breast, onions and lettuce. Unless you specify otherwise, it will be prepared very mild—but you may quickly adjust it to your own taste by requesting a pepper tray, which has several preparations of Thai hot peppers in various media—fish sauce, usually the darker of the offerings, adds aroma and flavor as well as heat. As usual, the meal was accompanied with the excellent Thai lager beer Sing Ha. Although the menu does not include desserts, I was delighted to find that Krung Thai Street Grill was still able to offer the wonderful confection called Mango Sticky Rice, the fresh ripe mango served chilled with the steaming hot sticky rice coated with sweet coconut sauce beside it. Yes, I managed to photograph that, too, before I greedily consumed it! I feel I should mention that although there are crab dishes available on the menu, backfin crabmeat has recently exceeded $42 a pound, and it would not be wise to expect a lot of crab in any dish. Beef, too, has risen dramatically in recent days, and Krung Thai Street Grill adds a $3 surcharge when beef is substituted for chicken or pork on menu items (there is a warming of the surcharge displayed prominently on the menu). Also, credit cards are accepted for orders of $7 or more, as credit card processing prices have shot up. If the King of Siam ever flies from Germany to Virginia for a State Visit, I think perhaps the greatest honor we could pay him would be dinner at the Krung Thai Street Grill! In the meantime, I recommend you treat yourself like a king or queen: visit Krung Thai Street Grill and DON’T LET THESE DISHES GO TO WASTE!

Do not recommend. Staff was very friendly but food was disappointing. Ordered drunk noodles with veggies to go and the serving was maybe 1.5 cup of noodles and 1 cup of veggies in a small bowl - for over $10! (Pic is after a few bites) Noodles did not even appear to be cooked in the sauce, it just seemed like the sauce was poured over and mixed in. Not at all competitive for the Hampton Roads area.

Used to love coming here pre-pandemic. Decided to get takeout and ordered crab fried rice. To be fair, It tasted amazing. HOWEVER, I paid $27 for a couple scoops of rice and a couple pieces of crab. Wouldn't have minded the cost if the portion matched the price. I felt GOUGED. Totally cheated. And it was my birthday. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Pic for proof.

Mediterranean restaurant
Mezeh offers a delightful culinary experience that begins with a flavorful base, allowing you to customize your meal with your choice of protein and an array of fresh toppings. Each bite bursts with the vibrant flavors and wholesome ingredients characteristic of Mediterranean cuisine. Complementing this are perfectly crispy pita chips, seasoned to perfection for dipping or snacking. The atmosphere at Mezeh is inviting and clean, providing a more authentic feel compared to typical chain restaurants.
We enjoy Mezeh! We have had two date nights here. The food is yummy and the service is good!

The food is so-so. Nothing homemade, it's a franchise in a box. Good, but not a great value for portion on actual nutrition (meat or vegetables), just starches. Unable to order carnivore because the staff CANNOT MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO ANY ORDER. Not policy, just a complete inability to communicate. No English at all. I can order food in half a dozen languages, and none of them worked. I got a bowl. The girl kept insisting I was getting chicken because she wanted me to have chicken. (I don't know if she knew anything else on the menu) but I somehow got one other person to give me steak. Not bad food, seating is good. Just- I wanted a salad and some meat and it's impossible to get a Mediterranean salad and some lamb. 2 stars, only because of the food being edible ..

Our family enjoys Mezeh and we have been to many of their locations. Highly recommend it and great food options for all. Unfortunately, some of the staff here came across as dismissive and rude. Better customer interaction would really elevate this location.

Service is great. Atmosphere is clean, inside feels more authentic and less like a chain than Cava and they offer more topping choices. However, they are missing lamb kefta or lamb meatballs (they offer shredded lamb) and a spicy harissa paste/hummus. I tried the harissa sauce but it’s too sweet for my liking (as a harissa sauce). I guess they have to cater to the chicken/steak crowd or lamb might cost a bit more but having a decent lamb meatball would put this place above Cava for me. Send this up to c-suite!

First time here. Wanted to like it but it just ended up being mid. Chicken chicken bowl, felt a little skimpy in areas preparing, and ended up not finishing it because wasn’t appealing. Baklava was good but nothing special. Menu instore was confusing/minimal, probably need to use your phone to see it all, don’t know.

First time eating here. Placed a to-go order online and picked up in store. I ordered a stuffed pita but recieved a wrap instead. The lettuce in the weap was soggy & the chicken was PINK! I didn't even notice they messed up my order until I got home and unwrapped it. I am very disappointed and feel like I wasted my money on a meal I couldn't eat. The wrap went in the trash after seeing every piece of chicken was pink. Will not be a returning customer and wish I could just get a refund.
