The Cornerstone Bakery & Cafe is a cozy spot known for its breakfast plates, sandwiches, salads, pastries, and cookies. The friendly staff creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay and savor everything they offer. Whether it's their freshly baked green chili bread, delectable cinnamon rolls, or satisfying Mexican lunch options, you're sure to leave feeling full and content after experiencing the down-to-earth charm of this cafe.
I had an amazing experience at The Cornerstone Bakery & Cafe! Steven, the owner, personally came out to make sure everyone felt welcomed and was enjoying their meals, which really added a special touch to the experience. The food is hands down the best in town for both breakfast and lunch, and I’d even say it’s the best in the entire state! The staff were incredibly friendly, with such positive and uplifting energy. Don’t leave without trying their homemade pastries—they’re absolutely delicious!

Usually a line especially on the weekends but it moves at a decent pace. While waiting they have menus available. You order at cashier then sit at your table. Waiter will bring drinks and food. You can add on to order while you eat. When finished they pay. You can order from the bakery on the way out. If they are busy it’s easier to go out of the side door instead of front door. There are gluten free options available. If you have multiple food allergies you can order from sides where there are many options. There are a lot of drink options as well.
McKayla R — Google review
One of the best in Ruidoso! Be prepared for a line on the weekends, but the wait is well worth it. The staff is always incredible and the food is outstanding. Bonito biscuits and gravy and Chile Relleno Omelette especially. Cornerstone is a staple of all of our trips to Ruidoso.

11/9/25- Came here on a Sunday at about 930. Sat down right away. Staff attentive. Ordered the omelet with veggies and cheese. The potatoes were a little undercooked, that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. The French toast was decent, but I'm just not a fan of a huge baguette piece of bread for French toast. The biscuit was good. Ambience is decent. I then got 2 chocolate chip cookies, the white chocolate pistachio color, and a cinnamon bun to go. The cookies were incredibly average. The cinnamon gun was loaded with glaze so that was good. It could is been a tad better with the quality of the dough that was used. Overall I would come back again.

This is a great little bakery, shop, cafe, all in one right off the main drag in Ruidoso. Came highly recommend by 2 friends of ours in Texas. I see why. We came in ona. Sunday at 930am and had 0 wait time. Orders at the counter and got seated. Our plates came out in about 15 minutes. I got the green chili cheddar club sandwich (minus mayo) with a side of their house tomato basil soup. Both were absolutely delicious. I'd get this again for sure. My 10 year old son got the eggs and bacon with diced potatoes and a house baked biscuit. He ate almost all of it. My wife got the sausage and blueberry pancakes. She said they were good but not great, needed more blueberries inside them. Our server was very kind and tentative. The manager came over to check on us as did one of the cooks as well. Nice to see that endgag from staff with their guests. Prices are good for what you get as well. Will be back here again in the future when visiting town.
Josh H — Google review
Once again, Aiden & Haile were fantabulous! Haile assisted my wife building her order according to her dietary restrictions. Aiden was very busy, but he & Amy made a point of stopping by our table. Emma was also very busy, but very attentive to our drinks. Another gold star for Emma was when we were parking. She was running across the parking lot after a male customer to give him his ballcap.
Marcos G — Google review
If you've ever watched the show Kitchen Nightmares, you know exactly what kind of establishment this is. We ordered 2 chile relleno omelettes, 2 Vietnamese coffees, and an almond croissant. The croissant and potatoes (that came with the omelette) were decent, but everything else tasted really off. The "green chile sauce" on top of the omelette tasted like a watered-down hollandaise that had gone bad. Coffee was really gross, with a 2 inch layer of water on the top, that even when mixed tasted of stale coffee and rancid milk. On top of that, the biscuit was soggy and falling apart. Our server was nice, but she genuinely seemed scared to get the manager for us. She also warned us that the restaurant can't "take off" items from your bill you don't like. The manager took 15 minutes to show up after passing my table once and not saying anything while bringing take-out to the kitchen. Not a good sign.... I told her it tasted off/spoiled, and she seemed skeptical. I offered to pay for what we ate (potatoes and croissant), and she agreed. She showed up with a bill of $30, which was only $1 less than the previous "discounted" bill that still charged us for the coffees and biscuit. I can't recommend this place at all, from the weird and off-tasting food, to the scared wait staff, and the Cornerstone of it all: the disrespectful and scummy management (see other bad reviews) that will nickle and dime you for everything.
Stephen S — Google review
Wonderful food! It’s obviously a local hotspot. There are tons of signs outside that direct people on where to go. Obviously this is the case because they get long lines. However, we didn’t experience that which was actually really nice. We sat outside and it was brisk, but they had heaters on, and it was nice. All the staff was really friendly and the owner came and checked on us. We ordered fresh squeezedorange juice, and decaf coffee (it was very weak…also, for a place with pretty fresh ingredients we were surprised they didn’t serve their coffee with real half-and-half. However, not a deal breaker). We got a cheese and berry danish thing that was excellent. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant with a side of potatoes and their special house cheesy sauce, which was delicious. It was a huge amount of food and I could only eat half of it. My husband ordered savory ham crepes which he said was very good. He ate it all but didn’t eat again until dinner. The portions were hefty! It’s a fun vibe and I would highly recommend going here for breakfast, whether you want something on the lighter side, something sweet or something hearty. They had gluten-free options as well. They can accommodate large groups so I think it’s the perfect spot for families to meet up!

Sandwich shop
Nestled in the heart of Ruidoso, The Village Buttery has been a cherished spot for both locals and visitors since 1994. This cozy kitchen specializes in refined American lunches, offering an array of freshly prepared dishes that include savory soups like tomato basil and chunky cream of broccoli, alongside creative sandwiches and daily quiches. Their menu also features delightful housemade pastries, cookies, and pies—perfect for those with a sweet tooth!
Employees were super kind and attentive. You order inside and they ask if you're sitting inside or outside. I sat outside and they brought silverware and offered water to my dog. They were on it with refills and clearing plates. Ample seating outside and inside- and I went on a Saturday afternoon. The pie was also delish, and the soup sandwich combo was just the right amount! You pay the check after the meal. Would go back here!

This is a nice cozy place with very friendly service. We arrived around 12:30pm during the lunch rush and was lucky to find a table. There is outdoor seating which I imagine is wonderful during the warmer months. I enjoyed the spinach mushroom quiche with a side Caesar salad while my lunch buddy had the green chile stew soup and side salad. The best part of the meal was the buttermilk pie. It was not too sweet, just right, and the custardy filling was satisfying. If you're in Ruidoso, be sure to check this place out!

Nice place! They have indoor and outdoor seating. Nice healthy menu. Reasonable prices. Great service. I will definitely come back!

Amazing, outstanding and delicious! We were in Ruidoso and heard this was the place to get pie and boy were they right! They have an entire case full of flavors that change daily. From their famous buttermilk to the classics like cherry and apple, they have a pie for everyone. Their pies were so good I tried 5 different flavors; coconut cream, coconut meringue, fruit pie, and chocolate cream. Everything was outstanding but my favorite was the coconut cream. Pro tip, if you want to take a whole pie home you can and I did! I didn’t have the pleasure of enjoying their many delicious options for lunch but next time I’m back I will.

My family and I stopped in while visiting from out of state and were very impressed. Simple menu with excellent food. The staff all seemed to be family and were exceptionally kind. I highly recommend the green chile and ham quiche! You have to stop here while in Ruidoso!

One of southern New Mexicos hidden gems! Great tasting food and excellent service. Fresh homemade deserts, pastries and pies. Daily specials. Patio dining. Award winning buttermilk pie.
Mark W — Google review
Best place for lunch in town. Take your lunch outside in the shade and enjoy the atmosphere with the best service in town. There are lots of daily specials of treats and drinks- delicious! They have good kid-friendly options and high chairs available! We had a great time! Much better than the cornerstone bakery!

I love everything about this restaurant. The service is 5 stars! The staff is always smiling, friendly, and attentive! The sandwiches are delicious and the servings are more than enough. I’ve tried various soups and enjoy all of them but my favorite is their French Onion Soup, absolutely delicious. My kids love the Mac and cheese. My husbands favorite meal here is their Crab Salad Sandwich. I’ve tried their pies and they are also satisfying and delicious, you need to give one a try. This is one of Ruidosos hidden gems that you need to try! They have inside sitting and patio sitting as well.

The restaurant takes great care in crafting their burgers, ensuring top-notch quality from the meat to the flavorful toppings. Great selection and tasting burgers. Visited during lunch on a Monday, and it was busy, but orders were delivered in a timely manner. Selected the Hawaii 5-0 & Lone Star well cooked and nice juicy portioned size burger. Not disappointed, well come back. There is plenty of public parking around.

Second best burger I've ever had in my LIFE. Only burger better was from Killer Burger in Portland, OR. I got the Hawaii 5-0. JUICY, smokey bacon, stretchy cheese, crispy fries, and tons of flavor. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants a casual dining experience and incredible food.

Had a great hatch chilies cheese burger with a side of bottle caps, they were hot don't think I would of been able to eat them without the ranch dressing. Fry's are crispy and good flavor.

Best burgers in Town! The bacon cheddar tastes great, with battered fries, theyre awesome. It gets very crowded, so come with some spare time, cause most of the time youll be waiting. The place can get a little messy, so be patient.

Best burger place in ruidoso. I ordered the Hatch Chile burger and my partner got the Loan star burger. The service was quick, they were attentive. Food got to us quick and everything was delicious. We will be back soon ♥️ Fries were great as well. I am a little concerned about the garage doors. They look a little scary

The Front Desk is Impeccable with taking orders. Detailed and communicated thoroughly. The food is Real. So it takes a bit. But entirely worth it. If you're okay with midtown , get yourself to hall of flame.

My 17 year-old and I arrived at 2 PM to a full parking lot (a good sign!) and were seated in the upstairs dining area. Our server was quick and attentive, the food hot and delicious…so much so that the teen kept clapping over her meal (Hatch Green Chili Chicken Pasta).

Stopped by on the way to our cabin and sure glad we did! We were greeted and seated promptly. The restaurant was cozy and quiet with a very welcoming atmosphere. Every employee we interacted with was attentive and polite. Herschel took great care of us, a true example of what great customer service looks like. We ordered the Rio Grande Burger and Hatch Chicken Alfredo, both were amazing. The burger had a thick and juicy patty with plenty of fresh toppings. The Alfredo had an amazing balance of flavors. Both portion sizes were great for the price. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend you stop by Rio Grande Grill and Tap.

Wow. How a year can change a review. I will not be coming back here and cannot recommend. We visited for my birthday dinner and we ordered some wings w the honey-sriracha sauce and 2 ribeye steak meals. The wings a year ago were perfect, large and crispy…tonight they were still crispy w a good flavor but half the size that they were last year. The ribeye steaks though…absolutely terrible. We expect a ribeye to be juicy and tender, but these did not look like ribeye steaks and they were extremely lean and had zero flavor. I now know why the staff had asked us if we wanted steak sauce! My steak had a super intense char taste to it, and it tasted off, and a it had tough texture; the mashed potatoes were weirdly sweet; and the fresh vegetables were sour. The manager/chef came out and I explained I did not like any of my meal but he was more focused on explaining that the steaks were in fact ribeyes and he trims the fat so he isn’t charging $40 for a fatty piece of meat…then still charged us for the full price of both steaks. I had 3 bites of my steak and one bite of each the mashed potatoes and vegetables, it all tasted off to me. I felt as if I was being ignored and the manager/chef was not acknowledging me. He was rude and argumentative when explaining his cooking method and did not address my dislike of my entire meal. We will not be visiting this location again, and, as a local, I do not recommend. I will say that our waitress was very nice and attentive and she apologized to me. 5/9/2025 ————————————————————————— Made it out to Rio Grande to try out their wings and other things, we've been hearing good reviews from others. We were not disappointed!! The parking looks bad from the street but there's some behind the building. We ordered wings, spinach artichoke dip, fish & chips and finished it off w a carrot cake. Also ordered drinks; root beer and the hard tea. The wings were fantastic! Perfectly crispy and not too saucy. We ordered 2 orders of 6 so we could try both the spicy boq and the honey sriracha sauces. They were not too spicy or too sweet, a very good blend of the flavors. The carrot cake was devine!! The best cake we have had in Ruidoso so far! Our server actually recommended the cake to us and I'm very glad he did! The spinach artichoke dip was okay, I wouldn't order it again. It was a little too cheesy and more spinach than artichoke and was lacking flavor. The fish & chips were alright, again I wouldn't order them a second time. A little too much batter on the fish and the tartar sauce was bland and the coleslaw was watery. The chips were perfect though!! Best fry I've had around Ruidoso so far! The root beer was delicious and their hard tea was pretty good, we were offered a chance to buy some to-go which was cool. The restaurant is really cozy too, all wood and warmth, and the tables are located upstairs. That was nice bc you can be away from the bar area to enjoy your meal w a more restaurant feel upstairs. Definitely recommend and we look forward to going back to try some burgers and steak!

We came in for an early dinner on a Saturday and were seated right away. We got a flight of hoppy beers and jalapeño poppers to start. We realized early on that service was slow and ordered our drinks and food before we wanted them. For our entrees, my daughter got the lasagna, I got the crispy chicken sandwich, and my husband got the elk burger. Food was pretty good, portions are massive!
Karmen — Google review
Great place in Ruidoso to eat and have beers. The food was excellent, our party had everything from salmon, Rio Bravo burger, elk burger, tender basket and Manicotti. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. The waitstaff was excellent and friendly. Very accommodating and it had a great atmosphere.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in Ruidoso, Michael J's Italian-American Restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for savoring classic Italian dishes paired with a selection of wines. The restaurant is renowned for its delectable pasta, seafood, and meat offerings. Locals often recommend this spot for an authentic Italian dining experience. From the flavorful minestrone soup to the tantalizing pasta and meat entrees, every dish exudes comfort and satisfaction.
I loved the saucy lasagna. The Chicken Parmesan and the Chicken Marsala were pretty good as well. We had excellent service from Nicole. She was very polite, attentive, and professional in her service. I would totally plan a return trip.
Mary L — Google review
Michael J’s wasn’t exactly what I would imagine authentic Italian food to be. First, our server was very nice, pleasant and talkative. She did have a family member seated in our area so more attention was paid elsewhere but it wasn’t like we couldn’t drink wine and enjoy the patio. I will say that when your server tells you what her favorite dish is..you should probably order it. My table companion had the fettuccine Carmella and it was fantastic. It could be over the top if the pasta was made in house. It was still very good and should be highlighted as the signature dish. The veal parm?? Not so much. Overly breaded which didn’t bind to the paper thin cutlet. It just became a soggy mess as it was placed on top of the pasta. Lacked that kick of Italian seasoning. The mussels were the big disappointment. A $15 price allowed you 8 mussels. We were sharing the bowl because the assumption was that it was your typical large bowl of steamed mussels. We should have been told that one serving was not adequate. The price per mussel breaks out to $1.87 per. We aren’t cheap but this isn’t worth the price. The broth tasted great but it’s wasted as there wasn’t anything to enjoy it with except an order of bread. High expectations prior to dining there. The staff obviously works hard because the kitchen is booming. If we go back we at least know what to and what not to order.

We were a little late to make reservations for a Saturday night, and unless we wanted to eat later, the only availability was in the bar. We arrived promptly at 6:30pm for our dinner reservations. We were greeted warmly and led to the bar, where we opted to seat close to the fire. My wife was not in the mood for alcohol, but they have a fairly extensive wine list- all pretty main street. I opted for one of their draft beer. Our server/ bartender took our order quickly, and it wasn't long before we got our food. Kitchen was pumping out food that evening. I started out with their side Caesar salad that I added to my entree. Dressing was excellent. I followed with Fettuccini Carmella in a rich tomato cream sauce loaded with chicken, prosciutto, spinach and a couple large shrimp. It was extremely flavorful. I truly enjoyed it. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and her only complaint is that the bread crumbs coating were too mushy- pasta and sauce were good. Our bartender/server Shawn was very personable, efficient, and gave us excellent service - which is always a nice plus to a good meal. Very enjoyable dinner and a must try.

Husband and I ate here when on vacation. I had chicken piccata and my husband had seafood pescatore. Both entrées were DELICIOUS! The wait person was very nice service great. The bread offered was very skimpy but good. Overall a good, moderate priced restaurant. Recommend making reservations.

Tina's Cafe, located at 2825 Sudderth Dr in Ruidoso, NM, is a cozy and welcoming eatery that offers hearty breakfast options to fuel your adventures. The cafe serves up classic comfort food such as fluffy pancakes and hearty omelets. Known for its traditional New Mexican cuisine, the menu features dishes with green chile, including the popular Breakfast Burrito and Eggs Benedict.
Great place for breakfast! We requested the patio because the temperature around 11 AM was around 78 or 79 F (August). Beautiful, chill, shaded patio with vegetation and vines swayed to and fro by a cool breeze. Perfect place for New Mexico green Chile chicken enchiladas. The chicken was tender and the Chile was spicy but not hot. We also ordered one of Tina’s breakfast bowls which consisted of red Chile, chorizo and two eggs over easy, and the huevos rancheros platter. The kids’ Mini New Mexico platter was the perfect size for our growing 8 year old. Beware the pancakes are big and fully! We had some beers and enjoyed the breeze with a full belly. Loved it here

Stayed in Ruidoso for five days and had lunch and dinner at different locations throughout our stay and I have to say that Tina’s Cafe had the best tasting food. If you’re looking for good home style cooking, this is the place.

I came in for the candy pig cinnamon roll but was bowled over by the steak tacos and the super friendly service. The host, server and even the cook were very sweet and clearly wanted to ensure I enjoyed my meal and had everything I needed. Definitely worth a stop!

Decided to check this place out due to many good reviews. Unfortunately, we weren't that impressed. I asked for an omelet, pretty sure they messed it up and just scrambled it. The biscuits looked soft and soggy as if they were reheated. The cinnamon roll was delicious, but not worth $7. The service and atmosphere was OK, but the music was a little loud and made it hard for the waitresses to hear our order. Finally, for some reason two out of the four of us had stomach aches afterwards. We will be trying a different brunch location next time.

Yes! I’m glad I tried this place! I’ve lived in Ruidoso for a few years now and never gave it a try because someone said the owner was racist. I decided to form my own opinion and glad I did! The food is really good and I absolutely love the atmosphere. Our waiter was also super friendly and courteous and attentive. This will be a restaurant my family and I will frequent. The Green Enchiladas were tasty and cheesy, and my husband enjoyed the Migas. The only thing I didn’t like were the potatoes that came with breakfast, I found them bland. This place also has live music on the weekends, you’d have to follow them on Instagram to find out what dates. They have a selection of beers, cocktails, and wines. Oh and they have pitchers of mimosas! Stop by and give it a try!

Southwestern restaurant (US)
Restaurant
Grill Caliente is a Southwestern restaurant located in Midtown Ruidoso, offering a unique twist on traditional Mexican cuisine. The cozy patio provides a perfect setting to enjoy their delicious dishes, such as the grilled salmon and southwestern pork chop. The menu features a variety of chile-inspired items, including steaks, burgers, tacos, and imaginative vegetarian options. While the service and menu could be improved according to some visitors, the overall experience was enjoyable with fair prices for quality food.
Good service, amazing food, and a good atmosphere. All of the staff were super friendly and the manager was awesome. I would suggest getting the queso fries and adding a chicken breast to it. It’s the perfect meal.

My husband and I visited on a Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving. They were pretty busy but we were able to get a table. Service was very good and quite fast. Prices were reasonable for the portions we received. The drink from the bar was very good. My husband ordered a burger and he said it was very good. I tried his fries and they were good. I got the Brussels sprouts and they were DELICIOUS and hot (also on the spicy side). My mushroom tacos however felt undercooked (shrooms were still kinda raw-ish) and they were luke-warm. Tortillas fell completely apart. Burger was also warm but not hot. My side of rice and beans were good. I didn’t feel like sending the food back-I should have because I hate food that’s not hot. All in all, decent. I loved the vibe of the building and its architecture and the staff was very friendly. I’d say you would do well to go and get apps and drinks. When I’m back in town I’ll give it another try since they offer vegetarian food.

The service here was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and the manager was so kind. Unfortunately, the food really missed the mark for me. I ordered the veggie enchiladas, but the chile sauce was overwhelmingly sweet and so hot that I couldn’t taste anything else. The heat and sugar completely overpowered the dish, which made it unpleasant to eat. I really wanted to like it, but the flavors just didn’t work for me

We're vacationing in Ruidoso from Texas, and the wife and I wanted to go on a date (without the kids) before heading home. We decided on Grill Caliente, which was good overall. We arrived about 45 minutes before closing. The wife had the chile rellenos with the red sauce, and I had the Carne Asada. Both dishes were really good; however, the rice on my wife dish was raw. We informed the wait staff to let them know and enjoyed all other parts of our dinner. I do recommend Grill Caliente, though.

the restaurant's friendly staff, delicious food, and cozy atmosphere. Some customers mention specific dishes they enjoyed, such as the green chili cheeseburger and the fish tacos. Others appreciate the reasonable prices and generous portion sizes.

Flavorful enchiladas. I love the Green Chile Chicken enchiladas, they are always packed with delicious flavor and have a spicy kick to them. The black beans and rice that accompany them are also flavorful. I love them. The Mushroom Swiss burger is a crowd pleaser, hearty and delicious. The Chile Rellenos were also satisfying and delicious but they do pack a kick so if you don’t like spicy food, pick something else. They are really good though. This place offers various alcoholic drinks, the margaritas are a personal favorite. They have a variety of local and imported beers on bottle. There’s plenty of seating indoors and on their patio area, which is enclosed so you’re not really sitting outside. The service has always been friendly and fast and the restaurant is always clean. It’s kid friendly, group friendly, and also has a small selection of vegetarian options. Both my family and me enjoy this restaurant and have never been disappointed with the food, it’s tasty and satisfying.

Was excited to try this highly rated restaurant. Went on a Wednesday night and there was a good atmosphere and the service we recieved made us feel at home. The food however was subpar. The fried green chilie rings were probably the best thing. The green chilie enchaladas were the worst that I've had. The best way I can describe the enchiladas were as if they were a chalupa. The meat was unseasoned dark chicken meat. The plate was lacking flavor and texture. Stuffed poblano was OK. Nothing special. Would be nice if they offered a beef option. The queso burger was just awkward. I got more bread than meat. The meat that I did get did taste good, however there was just too much bread. The bread was a wheat bun. I would stay away from this option. I may have chose the wrong plates, but from the expierence that we had I won't be going back.

Food is just not as good as it used to be. Too many changes. They did finally get their beer, wine and spirits. $16 for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc! Wow! The pour was extremely disappointing at that price, and an entire bottle of the same wine is less than $16 at the store. I told myself I would try this place one more time since the new ownership, and I am sorry to say we won't be back.

Breakfast restaurant
Casa Blanca is a casual eatery in Ruidoso, NM that offers a variety of familiar New Mexican dishes. The restaurant has a simple ambiance and is known for serving hearty New Mexican cuisine, best enjoyed with a pitcher of margaritas. Visitors can savor traditional dishes like red chile and green chile sauce, or opt for the Christmas sauce which combines both.
Well, this is an update. It had been awhile since I had eaten at Casa Blanca. There had been some construction going on and I just passed by until Sunday Easter. Dropped in for a quick bite about Noon. Good crowd. Did not have to wait for a table. I had a combo plate. Man, it was delicious! The the rice and beans were perfect. The enchiladas had so much beef I ended up getting to go box. Chips and salsa were fresh. Loved the salsa, spicy but not too spicy. No mouth burn, just great flavor. Ummmm, splurged and had a house margarita. It was well poured. Not stingy on the tequila one bit. So good in fact I had another one, on the rocks. Delish. I don’t know why I waited o long to enjoy the Mexican plate I had. I won’t wait near as long next time. Really recommend. The atmosphere was busy but efficient. We were not rushed by any means. Enjoyed the table where we were seated. Our server was a delight, wished I had gotten her name! She was attentive but didn’t hover. Great experience.

We arrived with a party of 11 people. The hostess was extremely friendly. We waited 10 minutes for an area which held our entire family. Very clean restaurant with plenty of options to choose from. To access the kids menu, you have to use the QR code to load the full menu. I went with the stuffed green chilies mixed, one cheese and one ground beef. They were battered and cooked perfectly. My husband with the combo plate of enchiladas, tacos, and green chilies. The server was very attentive and the food was delivered in a timely manner. The price was affordable. Definitely recommend this place!

The service is friendly but very poorly trained. We ordered margaritas and our apps. Then the server came back and took our lunch order. We never saw her again until after 30 minutes when all of our food and drinks came out at the same time. To top it off she forgot 1/2 of our order. The green chile enchiladas were excellent and the green chile strips were great too bad everything came out all at the same time. The margaritas are not worth it.

We really enjoyed this place. The NM egg and the red sangria were fantastic. The fajitas had lots of veggies and the green chili chicken enchiladas were stuffed with chicken

Arrived mid-afternoon so not a very big crowd. We asked for a window seat and we're seated right next to the kitchen. We ordered a couple of supposedly renowned margaritas and after several minutes the waitress came back and informed us that we'd have to wait a while because the bartender had step away. After 10 or 15 minutes, I became impatient and just ordered a beer. In the meantime we ordered a bowl of tortilla soup. Let's just say it was awful. We both tried it and it was just awful and we had it returned. When the waitress took the returned to soup up to the Cook window, she very loudly proclaimed that we did not like our soup and mentioned that we would like a refund. Just very unprofessional and uncomfortable to do it so loudly. We then ordered our entrees and waited probably 20 minutes and at which point we became impatient over the slow service and left. I might also add that the cleanliness of the service area around the kitchen window was very lacking. We will not be going back
Chris — Google review
We had the BEST servers! So friendly and helpful. The food was beyond delicious and the prices are low. Atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. You must try the chili rellenos. Very authentic and entirely tasty. Too bad we were in Ruidoso only 3 days, but we came here over and over. For a laugh, ask for a RED STRIPE. (Sorry; inside joke with me and the delightful server, Samantha, who was fantastic!).
Ed S — Google review
The food was okay. I had fajitas. They were under seasoned. My wife and son had the green chili enchiladas. They were too peppery. The green chili strips weren't peeled or roasted. It would have made them better. The server was friendly. It took bit to get our appetizers, food, refills, etc, but that could have also been the kitchens fault. If the kitchen is behind, the servers will be behind. The atmosphere was nice. We sat on tiered level, and the steps were a bit high. It could be dangerous for elderly or anyone who may have a little too much to drink.
Laurence F — Google review
We waited about 10 minutes just to have our drink order taken, and another 10–15 minutes before the guacamole arrived. The guac itself was disappointing — it tasted like plain mashed avocado and was missing the usual tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and lime that give it flavor. The rest of the food wasn’t great either. The portion of rice and beans was very small, and the tortillas were extremely greasy. The atmosphere could also use some improvement — for a Saturday night at a Mexican restaurant, having some background music would make the place feel more inviting. The biggest concern was the wait time and overall service pacing. We also overheard another table nearby complaining about the lack of refills, cold food, and the long wait, so it wasn’t just our experience. I do want to mention that our server was excellent. I didn’t get his name, but he was attentive and friendly. The issues seemed more like a kitchen or management timing problem rather than the server himself.

Cafe Rio Pizza is a popular spot in Ruidoso, NM, known for its mouthwatering East Coast-style pizzas crafted from scratch using fresh local ingredients. The laid-back place is decorated with flags and license plates, offering a cozy atmosphere to enjoy their specialty selections or customize your own pizza. Their menu features heavy-on-crust pizzas bursting with flavor, including options like The Kitchen Sink and sweeter choices like the Carolina-Style BBQ Chicken or The Connoisseur.
Can get busy during Saturday at lunch time. We were a party of 2. Had to wait a bit but not very long. We had 2 slices that were HUGE and it was like NY style pizza. I love that kind so it was amazing! Seating is tight in there but witnessed a lot of people take orders to go. Service was pretty good & you pay on your way vs waiting for a check. Parking is tricky so find public parking & walk there.

The atmosphere had me expecting the pizza to be 10/10. We had 3 pies, and some spicy cheese bread. The pizza was pretty good. Fresh ingredients but the crust wasn't ideal. I would buy the pizza again. The breadsticks were a let down, i liked the spicy tomato sauce it was served with, just not the breadsticks. Based on the reviews people seem to really love this place.

Cafe Rio is amazing for a few different reasons. First and foremost Gloria!! She was our waitress both times we ate there and she treated us like she had known is forever. Second. Their pizza is amazing. We had the white the first time we went and the Tuscan the second tike both were amazing. Their garlic bulbs were also really really good. If you go after 4 or so be prepared to wait and this isn't their fault. They're the only thing open. So the locals and the tourists are trying to get in the place. The do table service, phone orders and have a walk up window. The waiting for your food isn't on them but trust me, they're worth the wait.

Wow, this is the absolute best pizza we have ever had. We got the white pizza and added brisket and green chilies and also the meat pizza. Both pizzas was absolutely amazing. We only had about 5-10 minute wait. This is what was left. Highly recommended.

Stopped on our way back to Lubbock from Alamogordo and ordered a Tuscan. OMG!!! So good. Nice thin crust, fresh toppings and cooked perfectly. Every time we’re in town, we see a line waiting outside the door and now we know why. If you love, good pizza, you have to try this place

Delicious. If you are coming here for a fire-roaster fluffy crust, this ain't it. But if you are coming here for a huge foldable pizza with delicious top tier ingredients, this is the place to be. That 20 inch is ridiculously large! Single slices are also a healthy portion size. Great flavor in every bite. Will definitely be a regular when we come back to Ruidoso!

The warm and inviting atmosphere adds to the dining experience, making their fluffy pancakes and fresh waffles even more enjoyable.
My family and I stopped by the Log Cabin Restaurant on a recent trip to the Ruidoso area for breakfast. It’s a charming place with rustic decor and amazing food. It’s a favorite spot for the locals as well. Even though it was super crowded, we were able to get a table in about 10 minutes. Our waitress was very friendly and quick to make sure we had everything we wanted. The chicken fried chicken was crispy and smothered with creamy white gravy. Pancakes and waffles were huge and fluffy, crispy 🥓 bacon, buttery grits so yummy! An absolute delicious place to start your day out right.

This is the second time I’ve come here and received sub par service. The hostesses are not friendly. The waitstaff was not attentive. I asked for extra crispy hash browns and couldn’t even get that after waiting 20 minutes for the food on a Monday morning. I have had the dessert breakfast and that’s what the stars are for. For the price and the service 👎🏽.

The food is always amazing but I had to wait 1 hour and 17 minutes to get seated with the hostesses failing to communicate with each other and people who came after us being helped before us. Absolutely loved this place and I’m a regular here but the hostess training leaves much to be desired and as a local this has been the worst experience at a restaurant here. No apologies whatsoever for skipping us after such a long wait and coming up to check how far our name is a couple times. For such good food your hostess is quality is shockingly poor. They also communicated that the wait time will be 35 to 45 minutes so that was also a lie and no communication from them to us and the other customers that the wait time will unfortunately be longer.

Food and entertainment was awesome! Best steaks I've ever had. They were cooked to perfection!

Let’s start with the positives- we were able to secure a table as the last walk in for the patio. The margaritas were heavy poured if that’s your jam. The bus boys kept the table clear and water filled. They comped my mom’s steak. Now the negatives- our dinner service took 2 1/2 hours outside for some of the most mediocre food I’ve ever had. My chicken fettuccine Alfredo tasted like bland gravy and the chicken was burnt. My mom’s steak was ordered well done. Idk how you burned the outside of a steak and the inside was still pink, but bravo. My husbands chicken fried chicken had a very odd taste to it and the twice baked potato was bland. My dad enjoyed his steak, but he likes his steak messed up anyway so I’m not really surprised. Some seasoning could go a long way on this food. Our server was often unseen. The ambience was good but if the food had been better this could have been a solid 4. Not worth the price tag of $200 for 4 people.
Ashley R — Google review
We made a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was very nice and personable. Everything took so long to come out from drinks, appetizers, salad and the main course. The drinks were strong. We each typically drink 2 alcoholic beverages when out to dinner. I only managed 1 tonight and felt a little buzz (which is not what I want at dinner). The appetizer and rolls were delicious. The salad was average. The sides were good. The steaks seemed a little under cooked and had NO flavor. It was a real disappointment considering it took them 50 minutes to get them out. By that time, we had no appetite left. It just took everything too long to come out. I doubt we will ever go back.

This is an incredible steakhouse. I had the 6 Oz. Filet. My husband had the Elk tenderloin. Both entrees were delicious! The wait staff was nice and service was perfect! Highly recommend this restaurant. 😊😋

I had a craving for a steak and baked potato, and this place really hit the spot. We order the bacon wrapped chicken livers. They where okay but a little over cooked. I ordered the 6oz fillet and my wife ordered the coconut shrimp. The waiter also talked me into trying the green chili cream corn. My wife's shrimp where huge and delicious. I ordered my steak rare and it came out perfect. Honestly one of the best steaks I have had in recent memory. The baked potato was also perfect. The skin was nice and seasoned with a little crispness to it. The cream corn was too spicy for my wife and son but they where perfect for me. A nice balance of sweetness and spice. I had a really great experience overall. Had the liver not been burnt I would have given them a perfect score. Will definitely go back if we are ever in town again.

Last night I took my son and his family to the Texas club for dinner. We had reservations and were seated right away. The server took our order and salads were served however the rest of the meals took a long time. I ordered the hamburger steak medium well. I could not eat it. Dry and very well done. The green beans were canned mush. After 2 requests my grandson's cheese burger finally arrived after everyone was finished with their meal. He had rolls for his dinner. Definitely not the quality of food and service we expected.
Joan J — Google review
We tried this place for the first time and were so impressed with the food. My steak, which I asked for medium rare, was not only cooked to perfection, it was delicious. My picky adult son got chicken and ate every bite of it. The next time we're in Ruidoso, we're definitely going back there for dinner.
Dotti C — Google review
As others have stated, the food takes way too long. Had a 530 reservation for 8 and the hostess acted she was doing us a favor greeting and seating us. We did not leave until almost 8pm. I worked in a restaurant and know large parties can take a little longer, but 2 1/2 hours was no beuno. We did not have separate checks. Drinks, appetizer, steaks, dessert were all very good. Our server was pleasant but clearly overwhelmed. She kept apologizing, and we actually felt bad for her. There were at least 3 busboys working that night, but none were helping her with refills, clearing plates, etc. We won't be going back.

We own a home here and live here half the year. I for some reason spent the last 20 years never having visited this place and it’s a huge regret!!! There is a popular Mexican restaurant in town that’s a tourist trap with awful food so I’m 1000% grateful for Peña’s. We go at least 2-3 times a month. I’ve never had one thing bad. I didn’t live the pancakes but the buckwheat was just different for me personally. I usually get the combo platter and they seriously have the best chili relleno ever. The green sauce is more of a tomatillo instead of hatch green which I appreciate because I do not do heat. Hubs like green too but prefers spicy hatch. The red sauce you can ask for extra heat. Unsure if you can with green. Chips are fresh and handmade. Salsa delicious. The waitress is the best. Chef’s been there for decades so it’s always consistent. It’s tiny inside but so have outside when seasonal. May have to wait. But worth it. Please not hours are early. Usually closes at 3pm.

In addition to wines, the winery also produces flavorful cheeses like Green Chile Jack and Ghost Chile Jack.
This place was awesome. I came here for wine tasting. Very pleasant seating arrangements with merchandise stands set up out of the way. There was a very nice bar style serving area for wine tasting. There are also nicely separated table/booth seating, as well as outdoor patio area. Every single thing I tried was delicious. Red wine, white wine, rosé, bubbly, and cider - all delicious. Additionally, the staff were really polite and provided exceptional service. Cheese board, prosciutto panini, drinks, staff, and the shop - all 10/10. Will definitely be back.

Stopped by this winery after shopping. This place did not disappoint. Janet was very knowledgeable on the wines and suggested the ones we would like based on our tastes. We would definitely come back for more wine and cheese. This place has a very good chill vibe. Try out the Demigod room when there. We ordered the baguette platter, which was really good. What a lovely little coffee shop. We stopped on by on our way to Ski Apache. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Drinks were warm and delicious. They even offered our pup a tasty treat as well. Awesome place to eat and spend time with friends and family while in Ruidoso!

I have special dietary restrictions and actually found some decently healthy snacks and shakes, which were all very good. I love the atmosphere & the barista was helpful and friendly. Located right next-door toSUBWAY®. Decent prices also.

Drinks were really fantastic so if it’s Java you want they have great choices, food is a lot smaller than I thought tho, it was tasty just half as big as I imagined it was. I do still think that it’s worth the try it’s basically a lot similar to Starbucks kind of food if you like that stuff. Coffee was better than Starbucks 100 percent. It was pricey but not if you’re used to the insane prices of Starbucks basic run of the mill food and drinks. Atmosphere was swanky and chill and the employee was very nice and helpful. When I went they had a sign on door CASH ONLY which isnt a big deal but still minor inconvenience since I Spent an additional $3 on ATM fee which they have located in the corner in case you’re all card/phone payments

Good coffee, good vibes. This was a nice place to stop for breakfast - I got a bagel and my friends got oatmeal/croissant sandwiches. We all enjoyed. When we stopped by it was cash-only but there was an ATM inside. Not sure if that was because a system was down or if that’s a regular thing. As for seating, most of the tables available are small two-seaters.

It's Good coffee. It's been in our town for a while. Not My go to place anymore as I'm loyal to the Kup. However this place has great baked goods and such. Choose this place OVER Starbucks. I beg of you. Their better. 😝

Nestled within the stunning landscape of the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation, the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino is a sprawling destination that offers a blend of relaxation and excitement. With its understated yet comfortable accommodations, guests can enjoy amenities like a refreshing pool and an impressive golf course. The resort also features live entertainment and casual dining options, making it perfect for both families and couples seeking adventure or leisure.
The hotel was very beautiful and mystical. I love the sound of the flute playing throughout the lobby. There is so much to see. So many details that make that place is beautiful like the paintings on the wall or the staircase in front of the lobby or the giant windows with the lake view. Even the lighting in the hallways were eye catching. And the golf course was one of the most amazing courses I’ve been on. We are definitely going back to play more golf.

I came here on a daytrip to have some fun at the casino. I had a blast! The staff is extremely kind and hospitable. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The only thing that was a negative, was the food at the Broken Arrow Tap House. The service was top notch, however I wasn't a fan of the food. It was extremely overpriced and the quality isn't what you expected for the price (I ordered a Alfredo dish and the sauce tasted like it came from a can -it was super gross). However, I do plan on going back and trying another restaurant.

A beautiful and romantic getaway spot! My wife and I recently visited the Inn of the Mountain Gods in Ruidoso, and it was absolutely breathtaking! Even though we didn’t stay overnight, the visit itself felt like a mini getaway. The views of the lake surrounded by mountains were peaceful and picture-perfect — the kind of scenery that makes you stop and take it all in. We spent time walking around the resort, enjoying the casino, and having a delicious meal while taking in the view. Everything was clean, relaxing, and welcoming. The staff were kind and made the experience even better. It’s truly the perfect spot for couples looking to unwind and enjoy nature’s beauty. We’ll definitely be back again soon! ❤️

I have never visited their rooms and have only checked out their casino. For the region, this casino is the best of the best. Technically my closest casino is sunland park but I rarely have a good time there. I go out of my way an additional hour to visit Inn of the Mountain gods. The casino floor is closer to “Vegas style” than any other casino in the El Paso/Ruidoso region and I highly recommend it if you’re into slots. The casino does offer some dealer/table games as well, such as poker and blackjack and craps roulette and more, with a few digital tables/games as well. You’re not allowed to drink on the general casino floor, but they do have some workarounds available to help us with the restrictiveness of our region. For example, there is a shot bar on the casino floor that’s opened on weekends or when it’s really busy, that allows a quick shot then back to the floor. There’s also a sports bar and a cigar lounge that also allows you to drink with some slot games. Keep in mind the slots in the sports/cigar area are bingo slots. So although they don’t allow a full freedom of where you can drink, I still appreciate the steps that they’ve taken in order for us to have a good time with the laws in place. I absolutely love the inn of the mountain gods and I’ve probably found myself going to this location about five times a year. Have fun and goodluck.

The Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino is a gem in Ruidoso! The location is absolutely breathtaking—nestled in the mountains with stunning lake views, it’s hard to find a resort with a better setting. I spend summers in Ruidoso and frequently visit the casino, which never disappoints. The building is beautifully decorated, celebrating the Mescalero Apache tribe with thoughtful cultural touches. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and offer gorgeous lake views. Wendell’s restaurant is a standout—top-notch dining that elevates the experience. The Fourth of July fireworks are a highlight, truly unbeatable. Highly recommend this resort for a perfect blend of luxury, nature, and entertainment!

The house was beautiful and the views were spectacular! The house was rented for 4 days but they only left 1 small roll of paper towels and 2 small rolls of toilet paper in each of the 2 bathrooms. For the price paid the paper towels and toilet paper should have been stocked better for 7 people. Other than that it was a great vacation!

All with the best attitude and utmost respect I hope you guys give Denny some type of incentive for reviews cuz he deserves it. Alone off of his customer service we will gladly come back. Thank you for a great experience and time

When we checked into our room the toilet wouldn’t flush but sounded like it was constantly filling up, maintenance came and fixed it. The shower did not have a shower curtain, when I called the front desk the guy said to look at the shower and I’d see it. I repeated there was no curtain so house keeping brought me a shower curtain. The shower itself is an abomination, the pressure is terrible, the shower head leaks everywhere, just rough all the way around. The in room dining service is really good, Wendell’s was really good, and the gambling was great, just wish the room was better.

While visiting my mother, I decided to explore some delicious dining options. I searched for the "top-rated eateries near me" and was led to Island Noodles of New Mexico, which lived up to its reputation. Despite having only two items on the menu, it received high praise and exceeded my expectations. I opted for the chicken dish and it was truly a delight. Although I anticipated a small side portion, it turned out to be worth every penny.
They tasted delicious and the service was great! We were done skiing and starving so we wanted something fast and to go! These noodles did not disappoint! The flavor of both the chicken and noodles was excellent, also very filling. The water is a must try too!
Mariana M — Google review
Our family specifically went to town for THE noodles! It was raining so we were worried it wasn’t open. They were still up and running. Happy kids. We paid for 3 containers of teriyaki chicken. It was prepared fresh on the wok. Carrot, zucchini, broccoli, peppers & cabbage. Filled with fresh vegetables and the noodles cooked perfectly. The owners were very friendly & welcoming.
Brandy W — Google review
We went and got two vegan noodle and one teriyaki noodle. Mine had a good taste the vegan was ok. The complaint I have was the vegan one had more vegetables than noodles wish it had more noodles. The teriyaki was also lacking the noodles. For 15 bucks I think it’s over priced for not serving what they sell. The service was good and it’s made freshly but like I say for no noodles on there food and being served more vegetables for 15 is not worth it.

food was amazing! not to mention very good customer service and welcoming environment. definitely recommend

The noodles with stir fry veggies and teriyaki chicken were delicious and seasoned so so well! The menu is exactly that: stir fry noodles with veggies and teriyaki chicken. Simple but delicious. He has generous serving sizes which was enough for me to have leftovers.
Catie C — Google review
Amazing! This place serves two dishes: one with chicken and veggies and one is vegan. I would highly recommend the chicken. So yummy the flavor is tasted all the way through and super tender. The noodles have a million vegetables in them (well not a million but it was amazing). Even the kiddos enjoyed this meal. If there was one place I could choose to eat in Ruidoso it would be this place. Seriously, give it a try! I was also impressed that they could put three boxes into a bag for the to-go order.

Cattle Baron is a chain of Old West-themed steakhouses known for their prime rib, seafood, and extensive salad bar. Founded in 1976 in Portales, New Mexico, the restaurant offers a wide variety of food options including different salads, soups, and grilled chicken. The establishment is praised for its attentive service and great atmosphere. While some patrons have experienced inconsistent service quality at times, many have enjoyed the delicious offerings such as the rib eye steak and bar salad.
First time at Cattle Baron in Ruidoso and I am impressed. Jaime was our server and she was wonderful. The restaurant is clean and elegant. Parking is super easy compared to everywhere else in Ruidoso. My new favorite restaurant in town! Came back and this time had the Chicken Fried Steak. Absolutely wonderful. It has to rank in the top three Chicken Fried Steaks I’ve ever had!

Our waitress was super nice, the environment was friendly and the price was average for the food. You get bread and butter and the bread is soo soft!
Jxanna — Google review
We went on a non busy day at a non peak hour and had an enjoyable relaxed time at the restaurant. I felt the portions were good enough to not need to get the salad bar with my entree, and the food tasted pretty good. It was also very close to my accommodation at the Sitzmark so I walked there, just have to be careful as the sidewalk is narrow in some parts.
Jose P — Google review
Their potato skins were great. I asked for medium rare and I got medium well on my steak. The baked potato was fully loaded and I enjoyed it. My granddaughter asked for well done on her steak and got a lot of pink in it. My son said is hamburger was good and juicy. Their creme brulee for the price was super plain, no fruits on it at all, and too much sugar which made it super sweet on the top.
GLORIA V — Google review
Our waitress Devenie really needs to be retrained. As a table of 5 on a Monday early evening we were there for an hour and a half waiting and waiting and waiting. Other tables seated 10 minutes after us were served first by other waiters. She made 3 stops at our table in all that time. We had to get her from another table to cash us out so we could leave or we would have been there another half hour.
Lori H — Google review
We were greeted and seated promptly, however it did take a while to get acknowledged by our waiter. The food was not as good as I was expecting. Salad bar and the appetizer sampler was the best thing out of the meal. We ordered the NY strip 10oz and a kids sirloin. The kids sirloin was very dry and tasteless and the NY strip was decent but a good steak should not require A1 to taste good. And it needed it. The sides were small in proportion, it was about a small scoop of mashed potatoes with gravy. I also ordered a pomegranate margarita which tasted like sweet and sour with juice, no liquor was tasted. I got more of a buz from a corona at Pizza Hut. Overall the food was overpriced and the service was not great. The sever could have been having a rough day so we still tipped fairly however I recommend going else where for a tasty meal.

Server was good. Attentive, a bit reserved but good overall. My meat plate was ok meat was 2 small thin pieces somewhat tender good but expected more quality meat for the place I ate in.The grilled jalapeño I ordered was soo good. Pricey at 4.00 (3.99) Baked potato with the works was ( no works) however good. The bread was delicious 😋 salad was yummm so my guess said. Soup to... sandwich plates with tasty fries yummm my other guess said 😋

Recently relocated to Alamogordo from the Midwest, I had high hopes for finding great Mexican food in New Mexico. However, my previous attempts were disappointing until I stumbled upon Comal Mexican Restaurant. The cuisine at this establishment was exceptional, offering fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. Norma and Sergio, the gracious owners, were kind enough to listen to my failed Mexican food experiences elsewhere. Now whenever I'm in Rudiso, Comal will be my one and only choice for a delicious meal.
Super friendly staff and the food was delicious. Very well priced and great portions. We visited from Texas over New Years with a family of 7 and wished they were open more as the times we tried to go back, they were closed. Parking is tricky, but we still enjoyed walking the streets of Ruidoso.

Best salsa in Ruidoso. This was our second visit and the food was excellent again. We had chicken fajitas and Southwestern chicken. Their red sauce is so good and has a kick to it, and the green is also delicious. Friendly fast service. We missed out eating at this place for years because we kept coming at night and they are open mostly at lunch I believe. Ruidoso’s hidden secret!

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Me and my dad stopped in while visiting the area and were very impressed by the food as well as the service! We got the supreme nachos and the steak and cheese tacos and they were 10/10. Cannot recommend this place enough!

This may be the best hidden gem of a restaurant I have visited in years. Nestled in a little clutter of shops Comal stands out with wonderful food and an even more inviting staff. It is well worth stopping in for a meal.

Steak burrito was Very greasy. The grease overpowered the flavor of the ingredients. Sauces and salsa were bland. Beans were good.

El Camino Nuevo, a gem located in the vibrant town of Ruidoso, New Mexico, is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Southwestern cuisine. Known for its spicy green chiles, this restaurant welcomes guests with a delightful green chile salsa that perfectly complements their refreshing watermelon margarita—a unique twist that’s not overly sweet. The inviting atmosphere extends to the outdoor patio where diners can enjoy friendly service and delicious dishes like tender pork carnitas paired with flavorful chips and salsa.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We enjoyed fresh, crispy tortilla chips with a nice and hot salsa. My Cadillac margarita was tasty. We had carnitas for dinner....did not disappoint. The flan for dessert was sweet and light. A perfect ending for our meal. Our server was pleasant. We will definitely be going back to this place. An added bonus is their covered patio is dog friendly.

Worst Mexican food I have had. Chili not cooked, hard as a rock. Rice was mush, beans taste like dirt all served on a cracked plate. Maybe the bacteria from the broken plate will add flavor. The Shrimp cocktail was large and full of shrimp but bland as could be. Servers were great but avoid if you want good food!
Paul — Google review
Good Mexican food, decent prices, good portion sizes. Had the Plato Mexicano, the relleno was fantastic, green & red chile enchiladas were also delicious, taco was great too.
Christian B — Google review
Outstanding "New Mexican" Mexican food which we consistently go back for every time we're in Ruidoso. Highly recommend the combo plate (ask for a fried egg on top!) And Chile Rellenos. The salsa isn't mild -- it has an extra local kick for sure! So if you normally get hot salsa somewhere besides the Southwest, you might first try the medium before graduating to hot. My wife enjoys their endless flavors of margaritas, and they've always got great recommendations for what the kids will eat. If there's seating available and the temperature is nice, sit outside on the covered patio. You might just see some wild horses while you dine! Service has always been above and beyond anytime we've visited. It's a family-operated establishment and everyone is really kind.
Kirk D — Google review
My dad really enjoys this place and was excited to take me. The service was good, very attentive and friendly. The food was fast, but it was so so for me. It wasn't bad but was very much lacking in flavor. I needed a lot of salt and pepper. Could've just been an off day as my dad enjoyed his.
Katie ( — Google review
The food was just ok. The salsa verde wasn’t good, to me. I got a cheeseburger which was standard. My other half got a taco plate. Which was “just ok”. Our server was very attentive. They didn’t have booth seating, which is something we prefer, although not a deal breaker.
Jonny D — Google review
Average place. Got the ground beef tacos🌮. The tacos themselves were decent. They were a bit plain. Not much flavor. But the shells are good. The rice and beans are ok🫘🍚. The portions for those are a little small compared to other places. The waitress was also not the friendliest. She seemed a little grumpy. But it’s a cute spot, heard the margaritas🍸 are really good. Come for the vibes, not the food lol.
Betty J — Google review
Chips that were continuously served were very Stale, to the extent that I could hear it in the crunch when my daughter took a bite. Unfortunately that was discovered AFTER ordering Queso. The Queso was very runny as if mixing Velveeta and Green Chile stew juice. And Alas the beans were runny on our dinner plates as well. Wouldn't say that I feel this was worth my money and I'm quite disappointed with my Experience.

This had to be the best, most authentic Mexican restaurant I’ve had so far. I’m visiting Ruidoso and the first night me and my family had some issues but this definitely made up for it. Customer service could be better! My kids wanted an evening snack, chips and guacamole. They put their order in, the lady gave them guacamole salad. I explained what they wanted and she pretty much got after me like I was her child. Telling me not to (let my kids order since they dont know how to order). I didnt know she didnt understand the difference between guacamole and guacamole salad. So I asked can I order a side of guacamole, she tells me all shes going to do is put the guacamole salad in a container and give it to me, I said I just want guacamole, no lettuce etc. She told me ill have to wait because they are busy. Ended up asking for a refund.

Absolutely worth it. Im skeptical about Mexican food because I love it hot hot. A lot of places claim to have spicy food, but it doesn't do anything for me. Ole Taco definitely hit spicy on the nail. The salsa has some decent kick. I ordered the adovada chimi and it was delicious. I also got the chile cheese fries and they had a good kick.

Flying J Ranch offers a unique cowboy experience with chuck wagon-style dinners and old-fashioned western shows featuring banjos, fiddling, and yodeling. The ranch serves up cowboy cooking with sliced beef or chicken in their special Flying J sauce, along with baked potatoes, cowboy beans, homemade biscuits, spice cake, and applesauce. Guests can also enjoy entertainment such as western gunfights and music shows featuring fiddle, guitar, banjo picking, and western swing.
I went with my family and I highly recommend this experience, because that’s what it is: an immersive experience. When you arrive, you enter “Bonita City” and can enjoy the small town amenities like shops and candy store, pony rides, pan for gold, enjoy the Fiddle show, and then a Wild West “shootout” show before supper. The supper hall is large but they really move the line fast. The food isn’t top tier, but it’s good and the portions are great and you get seconds. There are no alcoholic beverages sold there but I personally didn’t mind that. The entertainment was great and the performers and musicians were absolutely talented.

Buy your tickets in advance. This place is great for families. Lots to do for kids but if you’re an adult , there’s lots of downtime from 5:30-6:45p till the gun fight starts. Gun fight was a fun show for all. The dinner was a lot of food and you could even go back for seconds. The western band was great. They all can play several instruments and sing! Overall, great experience and would recommend. We even saw an elk right by the teepee.

Place is great for adults, kids and everyone in between. It's setup like an old western town. Country store. Ice cream shop. A blacksmith. Teepee. Church and a big one eating area. They have music before the show on traditional instruments. They have a western style shootout fun and appropriate for all as they make it fun. You can ride a horse or a poney for a $5 fee. (Good horsey) the food is brisket or chicken and you can grab 2nds. Afterwards they play delightful old timey music. Place is absolutely a must. Loved it all the way. My only non gripe is I wish they played the tunes from back to the future part 3! Hahaha. I joke. Great place. Will be going back for Christmas time as I hear it's fantastic! Thank you flying J ranch.

What a fun place! Lots of music, including 2 fiddle shows and a one hour music spectacular from a tight knit family/band. Bowling alley

Restaurant
I come to the Alley a few times a week. It is fun and a good place to hang with locals and visitors. Caleb always greets with a smile and loves to laugh with all of us present. He is real life, goofy and truly enjoys his job! I always look forward to hanging out! Your other team members are awesome also!!!

Love what you’ve been doing here! The bowling has always been great and now the place is even more family friendly. We spent $10 on an arcade pass after bowling and it lasted quite a while. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well!
Jeff B — Google review
Small but FUN! I love coming to this bowling alley, not only is the food really good but the place is kept clean, the prices are reasonable and the lanes are well maintained. Inside the bowling alley are 10 bowling lanes, a bar with TVs and Dart boards (only 21 and older allowed), a small restaurant/kitchen, a jukebox, pool tables, vending machines and a few arcade games. The restaurant serves salads, hotdogs, burgers, pizza, wings and various sandwiches. The wings are DELICIOUS, they are saucy and have great flavor. The supreme pizza was full of toppings and came in a good size, one pizza was enough for 4 adults and a child. The bar has various mixed drink options as well as pitchers of beer, IDs will be checked for age. Prices for bowling are as follows: HOURLY RATES - 1 Hour - $37.00 / 2 Hours - $49.00 or $5.25 per game and $3 shoe rentals. They do have specials, check their webpage for info. As far as bowling alleys go, this place may be small but in my opinion it is way better than the larger bowling alleys in bigger cities. The staff is always friendly as well. *They do have bowling tournaments so call ahead to make sure nothing is going on and that you will be able to get on a lane.

1 star is to many. The old saying goes “if it’s not broken don’t fix it”. This place was not broken but someone felt the need to “fix it”. As a long time Paton of the “Ruidoso Bowling Center” I’m very disappointed to see what the new owners have done with the place. Taking away the pool tables, black lights, and dart boards was a terrible move. The pool tables were always busy and this time I seen a few kids in there and not a single one using any of the “new” arcade games. Who ever felt the need to replace the black lights with regular lights and have every single light on in there must be blind. It was entirely too bright in there. Also there was not nearly as many tables and chairs there as there used to be. Felt like they don’t want as much business as they used to be able to accommodate for. Also what was wrong with the original pin setters? The new bowling pins on strings just didn’t have the same look and sound the original set up had. I noticed all new staff members minus 2. Didn’t see any of the staff I used to enjoy seeing and visiting when I would come in. After speaking with a bunch of friends, locals, and regulars that I once would go enjoy the original bowling alley with they all feel the same way and are very disappointed with the new environment there. I didn’t even bother to see if the “new and improved” establishment came with new pricing on everything as well. I went with the intention of bowling with a group of friends and after I spent all of 10 minutes in there looking around i left. My friends were equally as disappointed and left as well. The Locals year around hang out and family fun is gone.

It's a nice spot to bring the family. The food is decent. The beer options are great. They have a limited arcade, with pool tables and bar that has darts.
Mike C — Google review
We love the remodel of the alley people don't like it because they're resistant to change. The bar makeover is fresh and inviting and has now the appearance of a sports bar. Caleb our bartender is friendly, kind, thoughtful and most of all funny. He's very attentive to his bar customers and is always smiling.

Had a blast bowling. We were just in town for one night and enjoyed the bowling ally. Nice cold beer and nice shoes

The inviting atmosphere makes it perfect for gathering with friends or enjoying a casual date night. Went to celebrate family birthdays! We had a wonderful time! The food was amazing we tried the smash burger, sweet potato fries with cheese and green chili, squeaky cheese, and Mediterranean pizza. The staff was kind and helpful. Loved the decor! Great to see the donations for local flood victims as well!

Great food, excellent service plus a grab and go...plenty of seating both inside and outside. Good variety of their own brewery specialties. Live music on weekends. Large tables for family seating and dinning with an awesome patio. Heaters thruout for comfortable atmosphere during cold months. Two full service bars with plenty of staff. Will definitely recommend.

Pizza was really good. We had the supreme pizza and everything was perfect thin crust the chiles were really spicy but good. Drinks were excellent. My wife had a watermelon margarita and she loved it. I had an old fashioned snd that was great. The beer was great too very cold so it was enjoyable.

Met some fun people here as we rested after a long hot day. My daughter enjoyed her Italian cream soda, I enjoyed a ginger beer, and my husband had a spring fling beer. We'll be back on another day to try the food as it comes highly recommended. The outside seating was lovely.

Atmosphere & Service was ON POINT. Ordered pickup & got all the back to my hotel room and was disappointed overall with the food/beverage. Must’ve ordered to-go on a bad night (I hope). Supreme Pizza & Pepsi. Pepsi was mostly water - no syrup (I poured it out) and the pizza lacked many toppings & had literally only 10 pepperonis and almost no toppings on 2 slices. Taste was just ok for me. I eat pizza all over the place, this did NOT impress, especially for $20. I’ll go back bc the place is rad, but no pizza for me! See photos.
Michael C — Google review
Great beer, great coffee, great food! Beer: Fantastic beer, quality is on point Breakfast: the breakfast burrito was perfectly executed - crispy potatoes, crispy bacon, just wonderful. Coffee: their cortado was fantastic and the Tom had the espresso perfectly dialed in (something I don't see very often at a cafe anymore). Well done!

A definitely go back place. Beer options were nice. Even though you had to order from the counter or bar, I would still go back. Food was awesome and do recommend the green chili burger. Wanted to try everything on the menu.

Came up to DOSO for the day. This place hit the spot as meal 1 and hydration. We had tried the Meatzaa pizza very hardy definitely shareable, we had the squeaky cheese curds soooo good none made it back home jeje, smoked wings with buffalo man that yummy sauce, we tried the carne asada tacos pretty good, the beans no bueno had zero flavor, we tried a smashed burger ( hope to try the green chile one next time). Beers we had the bside blonde, breakfast club really good. Great service it is sit and then get up and order there are no waitresses to bring out food or refills. The view out back awesome.

Ruidoso Sushi is a newcomer to the town's food scene, offering creamy Japanese sodas, eel, ramen, and delicious garlic sweet and sour cucumber. The restaurant has received praise for its friendly staff and clean environment. Noisy Water Winery in Ruidoso is also highly recommended for those looking to sample local wines in a quaint atmosphere with knowledgeable staff.
The first day was okay, but the second was excellent. The food is super delicious, the Texas roll, Ruidoso roll and Arizona roll are my favorites. The chef is super friendly with the customers and so are the waitresses.

1st time trying and will definitely be coming about again. From the moment we walked in we were treated with great service. The waitress was very informative about the items on the menu. The waitress was on top of everything. From our drinks to what we were ordering they made everything a wonderful experience. This place is better than Tokyo restaurant in SouthEast New Mexico. I highly recommend the Spider roll and Ruidoso roll that are pictured. Thanks Ruidoso Suhi for going above and beyond.
Taylor G — Google review
Noticed this place kind of tucked away, so me and my friend decided to check it out. The waiter we had was so nice and polite! He brought our food out quickly. Pretty sure he was the cook/owner too. Very clean atmosphere and great music selection. Good prices. The food was SO fresh and everything had a great quality. Lots of variety and other items available for the non sushi eaters. Best sushi in the Alamogordo/Ruidoso area, IMO. As a Ruidoso local, will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends!

Super cute atmosphere! Very calming and welcoming. It’s a small spot but just what you need for delicious and healthy fresh food! The staff was very friendly and attentive! We had a rice bowl with teriyaki chicken , the sushi was super fresh and the gyozas are mouthwatering! You can tell everything was prepared fresh!

A pleasant find. Often sushi places in mountain towns are disappointing, but Ruidoso Sushi had a solid selection and quality. We really liked their interpretation of the standard spicy tuna. This one had a nice twist with more flavor. A couple of the adjoining tables were having Ramen. Looked and smelled delicious and that's what the patrons said. Would be a great afternoon stop on a cold fall day.
Michael F — Google review
Ok so this was actually one of the best ramen bowls I’ve ever had. Fantastic broth. Not too salty. The spring rolls were also great and everything else was super solid. They have a large space so a good place for larger groups. It’s kind of tucked away, but it’s right off Main St.
Tori — Google review
First time eating here we ordered takeout and we’re not impressed. Sushi was mediocre at best. No utensils were provided and no sauces were provided. My wife ordered veggie tempura and we didn’t get any tempura sauce to dip it in. Very disappointing. Not worth the $100 we spent. We won’t be eating here again.
John B — Google review
Every time I eat here, I forget I am in Ruidoso. Which is a very good thing. In a town with nothing but mediocre “Mexican” places (stale green chile, yellow cheese and grease on everything) this is a breath of fresh air. A lot of small towns have your standard mediocre sushi place, but this place is strangely elevated. The fish feel fresh, the presentation is on point and the food is always delicious. I highly recommend the unagi bowl and the seared salmon dinner. Superb.

Win Place & Show Bar & Package Liquor Store is a historic Western honky tonk in New Mexico, offering live music on both indoor and outdoor stages. It's known for its impressive bourbon collection and private tastings led by the only certified bourbon steward in the state. The bar also features ax throwing on the outdoor patio, adding to its lively entertainment offerings. Customers have praised it for its fun and friendly atmosphere, responsive customer service, and a good selection of liquor at the package store.
We had a great time Friday 9/19/25. I can’t remember the lady that served us on the patio but she was the only one working the whole patio and she Rocked It! Great job! The band was great and the beer was cold! We will be back!

The live music was really good! We had to work hard to get the waitress to notice us. I guess we weren’t “regulars”, so she ignored us unless we waved her down. It was early so she wasn’t super busy. We’ll be back regardless since the music was good.

Incredible bar that was thankfully open early in the week (rare in Ruidoso) for an afternoon beverage. While they have a big patio next door (where there's also ax throwing) that wasn't open at the time. Better for us as the vibe inside was perfect and the bartender was super sweet. They have karaoke on Tuesday and live music on the weekends. You're welcome to bring in your own food as well. All ages during the day, 21+ after 6pm.

Tall Pines Beer and Wine Garden is a new addition to Ruidoso, offering a selection of local beer and wine. The outdoor patio with winter fire pits provides a cozy atmosphere for enjoying the drinks. Noisy Water Winery & Cellars is one of the nearby wineries where you can indulge in daily tastings of wine and cheese. This venue also hosts live music events under the stars, featuring local bands and solo artists.
This is my FAVORITE watering hole in Ruidoso. Not only are the owners absolutely good people, friendly, and attentive but the atmosphere is very relaxing. They offer a good selection of cocktails, beers, and wines. There’s plenty of sitting that includes tables and chairs as well as sofas. They also have a room in the back with a video game console that plays old Sega games and has comfy sofas that can accommodate a whole family. The kids love it! It’s kid friendly so it’s perfect for the entire family. It is clean, comfortable and inviting. They have outside sitting also. My favorite drinks here are their Hot Toddies when it’s cold outside, and the Bloody Mary the rest of the days! The owner can make some killer Bloody Mary’s! This place is a MUST TRY in Ruidoso. You won’t regret it!

Los Victor's Mexican food California style #13 is a hidden gem that offers a warm and clean ambiance. The menu bursts with authentic flavors and perfectly seasoned dishes, such as the carnita tacos and fish tacos. The burritos are a favorite, offering good flavor and generous portions. Additionally, the salsa bar provides an assortment of fresh and flavorful salsas to complement your meal.
My boyfriend and I came here our first night in ruidoso and HAD to come back before we left! The BIRRA tacos were AMAZING. Highly recommend to anyone who love Mexican food and especially BIRRA tacos!
M S — Google review
My favorite item here was the burritos. They were a good size and had good flavor. My second favorite thing was the Horchata, it was so delicious and refreshing. The variety of salsa they had were quite good too, they varied in spiciness so I’m sure anyone could find one they’d like. The caldo de res was good, but I prefer it made with a different type of meat. The pozole could have used more hominy but that’s just personal preference, it had good flavor but it was very spicy so keep that in mind if you can’t handle heat. The place has plenty of seating, free WiFi, and good friendly service. The only thing lacking was ambiance, at least when I was there, there was no music playing, just the sound of other customers eating, and my thoughts. You order at the counter, they do have to-go orders, and they have a large variety of options on their menu so if you’re hungry I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll like.
Sandra C — Google review
The Ruidoso Downs location opened recently and I have found it to be the perfect lunch spot. My family and I have been eating here for lunch at least once a week for the last 3 weeks and we have not been disappointed. The burritos are fantastic and come with the right ratio of meat, beans and rice, plus guacamole, pico and sour cream if you're down w those condiments. Just ask what's on them and customize to your liking. The Campechano burrito was the best so far, steak and bacon w beans, cheese and rice!! They serve breakfast all day which is great for me if I skip breakfast before work! I've tried the chilaquiles once w red sauce and once w green sauce, I prefer the green but the red was tasty too. The huevos rancheros are very good, comes w warm tortillas. The breakfast burritos are massive and the chorizo is full of flavor! We've tried a few different taco plates and the Al Pastor is our favorite so far. You have to get one of their fresh Agua Fresca! Pineapple and watermelon are the ones I've tried and both are delicious! Medium size if you're alone and large to share. They have a serve yourself style chip and salsa area, the salsas are in individual containers and can be a little difficult to dip chips into, but it's good and helps you save room for your main order anyway. Try the carrots!!! Best escabeche vegetables I've ever had at a restaurant!
Christina M — Google review
Not welcoming at all. Guy came out from the back like I was bothering him. Food was bland especially the avocado that tasted sour and this bread did not look like the one in the menu (torta). The supposed salsa bar didn't have anything in it but maybe a spoon full and tostadas were stale... Maybe Monday is a bad day.
Xitlali D — Google review
After it was placed under new management and staff I do not recommend anymore. The familiar staff that was here before were professional during call for takeouts (like ask the name under the order, repeat the order, gave time to when to pick up, and actually gave us the total amount of the order) which these new people didn't do and felt like it was their first day of the job. Besides the previous management and staff made the food like it was made at a loving warm home (delicious!). Now, the food taste bland and dry especially the Victors super burrito (which is not so super anymore). The previous management and staff are clearly irreplaceble and I am saddened that they're gone. I suggest to go somewhere, and I'll most likely won't come back.

We picked up breakfast burritos 🌯 to enjoy at Two Rivers Park. The bacon burrito was filled with crispy bits of bacon, potatoes and fluffy scrambled eggs. It and the sausage burritos actually made two meals each. The pinto and cheese burrito was creamy, oozing perfection within a perfectly grilled tortilla. All were excellent, made exactly as ordered and freshly prepared hot off the grill.

This shop is adorable! My husband and I stopped in while traveling through Ruidoso, and I’m so glad we did. The shop owner was so welcoming and carried on very genuine conversation while my husband sipped on a delicious old fashioned. Meanwhile, I was loving on her sweet dog, Henry! He was sitting on the counter just waiting to greet us! Great drinks and great company!

Love the product lines they offer! Prices are affordable 💚 Henry the dog was just precious. I enjoyed my conversation with the owner. I have 9 children (I know! So amazing!) and she was 1 of 8. I wish I would have bought so many things. Take my advice, buy it!

Husband and I visited this awesome little shop..actually he followed me in..lol. I first off fell in love with Henry, which is the main attraction in my book! The owner, Henry's mom, was the sweetest. I found some absolutely wonderful perfumes which never happens for me. Thank you thank you. I/we will be back and next time I will be trying the cocktails she offers amongst so many other wonderful items. It is a must to visit!!

I highly recommend the a whiskey flight of the amazing variety they carry here. Donna set me and the mister up and then finished with an old fashioned and wow!! The drink was beyond perfect. Ended up also purchasing Santa fe spirits colkegan whiskey 118% (it's so smooth!) And some lovely perfume. I highly recommend checking this store out and the ladies are beyond sweet! Love me some Donna and Karen! We will be back weekly at least❤❤❤

This restaurant truly deserves every single one of its 5 stars! From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and professional. The ambiance was perfect, with a cozy yet elegant atmosphere that made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Now, the food… absolutely outstanding! Every dish was prepared with high-quality ingredients, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The menu offered a great variety, catering to different tastes, and each bite was a delight. The dessert was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. If you're looking for a place with excellent food, top-notch service, and a wonderful atmosphere, this is it! Highly recommended—I’ll definitely be coming back! My compliments to the chef

No service. We waited over an hour and a half for our order to be taken and an hour for our drinks. Prices are very high for what you get. It’s been terrible service EVERY time I’ve been here. I would come back at all if my family wasn’t such Karaoke fans. I will definitely eat before coming in the future. By the way Mark kills it with the Karaoke 5-9 Thursdays but DON’T count one any service

It is a nice restaurant with cool paintings and a nice outdoor seating area. However their food was horrible. We ordered the surf and turf, the steak was not good at all, shrimp was rubbery and our plates were all cold. When I told the waitress she asked if I wanted to return it for a refund. I said yes please. Then she came back and said the manager said they could only remake it! Horrible! There were 9 of us and all of our plates were like that, potatoes were cold too. And when we got our checks, they were trying to upcharge us. Would not recommend

The Ranchers Steak and Seafood Restaurant is a classic steakhouse with a cozy ambiance, featuring dark wood and exposed brick. The menu offers a variety of steaks, seafood, and a full bar for drinks. Guests have enjoyed their experience at the restaurant, praising the flavorful pineapple jalapeno Margarita and French onion soup. While some found the pricing to be on the higher side, many appreciated the friendly service and recommended making reservations in advance to avoid waiting.

Absolutely delicious food. We came to Ruidoso for a vacation from El Paso and we eat out 2-3 times per day each time in a different place. This is the only place which made us absolutely happy about everything: food, service, prices. Jonathan was very polite, professional and efficient. We had Brussel sprouts, crab cake, pasta and a burger. Everything was mouthwatering. If you are in Ruidoso- that’s the best place to eat out.

We came for dinner and the restaurant was beautiful. Very romantic setting and the tables had fresh flowers. My husband got the prime rib and I got the chicken Alfredo and both dishes were excellent. We also ordered the onion ring appetizer and it was perfectly crispy and cut thin so they were easy to eat. I highly recommend that dish.

As a James Beard awarded Chef & Restaurant owner of 40 years in South Carolina, I was Impressed. Formal yet Casual. I ordered Crab Cakes as an app. It was a Meal! Full of Crab with very little filler. The Remoulade was Fantastic! Not the typical Horseradish type. More sweet citrus. Sorry no pic, tore into it too fast! We ordered the Catfish, nightly special Lamb Chops & Wagyu Ribeye. Catfish was not the typical filet. They took a Large filet and cut it into strips/fingers. Cooked to perfection! Lamb was a beautiful MidRare and tender, Wagyu Steak was also cooked to a Perfect MidRare. Trust me, American/Australian/Japanese Wagyu all cook differently. Wagyu is higher in fat and contains less moister than Angus. It also melts at a lower temp. This was Australian Wagyu(Sir Harry's??) and was perfect. Service was professional, polite and made us feel welcome. Price is fair for the Quality of the ingredients. For those that say this place is pricey....It is what it is. 2 apps, 3 entrees, 4 cocktails, $175 is Reasonable. I've paid $200 for an A-5 Japanese Wagyu Ribeye.
David W — Google review
The staff were super warm and friendly, quick to seat us and everything would've been perfect except for one thing. The steak was too salty. If things were merely mediocre, it wouldn't have bothered me near as much but the disappointment hit much harder with this because everything else on the plate was delicious. The baked potatoe was cooked to perfection, seasoned well and full of buttery goodness that was reminiscent of my godmother's homemade mash potatoes. The cut of the meat, the tenderness and the doneness was all perfectly juicy, except for the overpowering saltiness that literally broke my heart with each bite. My hubby mentioned it to the bartender/server and he was extremely apologetic about it and immediately offered 25% off the meal without hesitation. Like I said, the service is amazing. Unfortunately, nothing could've alleviated the mar of being cheated off of what could've been an absolutely perfect first-dining experience at this place. That being said, don't let my experience be the reason you forgo giving this place a chance. We all have varying pallettes and you just might be lucky enough to enjoy your visit.

There was a lot of bad reviews of this place which made me hesitant to try it. But on a whim, my girlfriend and I came here and it completely changed our outlook. The food was awesome, service was on point and very timely, all the staff were cheerful and friendly, and just as important… the beer was cold. I went in ordered a few simple things just to try it wasn’t all that I expected. Veggies were too greasy and the waiters were to consistent they don’t allow enough time to look over even the drinks. But it was very clean. I didn’t see the cook with a hair net or hair pulled back so I was kinda off guard by that but I guess that’s how they run it. The tea was good Daily pick veggies were way to greasy and mashed potatoes were to thick gravy was great though. My salsa was also good the chips some were cooked to quick and clumped together. Some were greasy some were not.

Very nice waiter. My husband loved the fish & coleslaw. I had one of the best BLT sandwiches out there. The fries were hot & crispy. We've been eating here for over 25 years & love it.

I'm glad I didn't read the prior reviews before coming to eat here. We did have to wait about 10 minutes, the hostess texted our phone when our table was ready, no problem there. We had two waitresses, one in training, both were super attentive and friendly. We didn't have to ask for refills, they were on top of their game. Both food and drinks arrived prompt, by the way, the margaritas are yummy. They also have a decent selection of beers on tap. We had the Nacho appetizer which was delicious. We also ordered the ribs, they were tender and flavorful, the catfish was good, and so was the chicken fried steak. No complaints, the food was good. The atmosphere of the place is also enjoyable. They have flat screen throughout the dining area for customers to enjoy some sports and such. They also have a patio. I live here and I'll probably visit this place regularly.

The atmosphere is nice, there’s pool tables and plenty of TVs throughout for your entertainment. The food is good, I had the chopped steak with mashed potatoes and it was satisfying. My husband enjoyed his salad, it was nice and fresh. My daughter had the kids burger and it was quite tasty. Their Green Chile Stew is one of my favorite food items here, it’s has a bit of a kick to it but it’s so flavorful! The posole is also very tasty and just like the green Chile stew, it packs a punch. If you like spicy food, those two are good options. This place has Applebees/Chilis vibes but with a lot more beer selections and cocktails. The service has always been friendly, on days when it’s packed you will have to practice a little more patience but it’s never a ridiculous wait. There’s plenty of parking, outdoor sitting, clean bathrooms and TouchTunes in the event you feel like playing some music. It’s a good place to unwind with family and friends, kids included.

On 09/12/25 at about 8pm 4 of us went to dine in at Farleys, I've been dining at Farleys in Las Cruces and Ruidoso for many years, it has always been a great experience, until now. The service was horrific, ordered 2 appetizers one came out after the entrees and the other never arrived. The chicken fajitas were ordered with corn tortillas and they could have broken a window they were so stale. I asked for flour tortillas and of course as bad as the service was I never received them. I don't think the server cared at all about good service. This was a big reflection on the management, never saw a manager. A well run establishment management will walk around and make sure things are running smoothe and customers are happy. Not the case here tonight. We were 4 at the table and had to ask for silverware and when we finally got it she brought 3 sets. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone far better places in town.

K-Bob's Steakhouse and Catering is a branch of a popular steakhouse chain that also offers seafood, burgers, and an extensive salad bar. The restaurant opens at 11 am and provides great service to its customers. There are three TVs in the smaller room where guests can enjoy their meals. The menu includes a variety of options, with different toppings on both sides of the salad bar, although cheese remains consistent throughout.
We're from San Antonio, Texas, on a mini vacation to bring our three kids to experience snow for the first time. We were looking for good food we would all enjoy and our hotel recommended this place. We tried the steak, chicken friend steak, and salad bar. Everything was absolutely delicious and well worth the price. The atmosphere was friendly and warm. The best part of our experience was hands down, our waitress. She was extremely attentive to all her tables, and interactions with our kids were memorable. Her name was Mae Lucero. If she's available, definitely ask for her. My wife made sure to let the manager know we really appreciated her service, but I wanted to include her in my review as well. They are very lucky to have her on staff. For those who are military, they also offer discount off your bill. Coming from a military city, we appreciated the restaurant offering this discount too. Highly recommended restaurant, ENJOY!

I hadn’t eaten at a K-Bobs in years. I knew we had to try the one in Ruidoso and was glad we did. The parking lot is always crowded but we were served very quickly. They still have a salad wagon which is filled with various salads, Cowboy Pinto beans and soup of the day. It also has fruit and Chocolate pudding. The prices are higher than 25 years ago but still a great value. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also brought the homemade rolls

2.5/10 Waitress was nice! Nice decorations TVs, And the sirloin was good that's where the good ends... Not as good as time... Cold Ranchers Stake. Party was disappointed. The hurricane cocktail was alright The loaded baked potato tasted like soap... Strawberry Daiquinquri was heavily watered down compared to last time... The fish & chips tasted bland. Overall bad experience. For this food I would have payed under 10$ but the average was 30$...

Anaheim Jacks is a laid-back American eatery that serves up an enticing array of burgers, sandwiches, fish dishes, and vegetarian options. This charming spot features everything from mild to adventurous burger choices, hand-breaded chicken, and fried catfish. The atmosphere is casual and fun, making it a perfect place to unwind after exploring Ruidoso. During my visit on a quieter weekday when many places were closed, I was delighted to discover Anaheim Jacks.
I’ve been to this restaurant numerous times within the last 3 years & enjoyed it every-time. I personally got the prairie grazer & enjoyed every bite. (If you’ve ever tried the beyond famous star from Carl’s Jr, it’s the same veggie patty) The burger was delicious, although the fresh fries aren’t included I ordered them on the side. My friend got Billy the kid & she was obsessed with it, she did mention the green chile wasn’t spicy but really enjoyed the burger. The fried pickles were to die for, we ordered some as an appetizer & to go. We loved them. The service is quick, the wait time was less than 10-15 minutes the times I’ve gone.

We waited in the lobby and multiple employees walked past us several times until my husband finally asked someone if we could be seated. So, first impression- not the best. However, the burgers were really good. My husband got the Regulator and I got Billy the Kid. My daughter got the grilled chicken salad. All were very good. We also got a basket of fries with queso and bacon. It was all delicious. Their pickles were great as well. So, food = delicious/ service = needs some work. Our waitress was sweet. Just not impressed with being passed by at least 8 times and not a single person greeting us or offering to seat us. 🙃

5 Stars – This Place Rocks! Anaheim Jacks is an absolute hidden gem! The vibe is rustic, fun, and full of character—license plates, sports on the big screens, and even The Rock with googly eyes watching over the drink station (10/10 decor, by the way). We tried the wings, fried pickles, and quesadilla—and wow, everything was fire! Crispy, flavorful, and served hot. That quesadilla was packed and smothered just right. But the real MVP of the night? Kristen! She was incredibly friendly, fast, and knew the menu inside out. She made sure everything was perfect and kept the drinks coming like a pro. Absolute legend! If you’re looking for good food, good vibes, and a great server—go see Kristen at Anaheim Jacks. You won’t regret it!

We visited Ruidoso on a bit of an off time, so not a lot of places were open during the week. Luckily, that left us with minimal choices which brought us to Anaheim Jacks. First, atmosphere was great and the menu come likes a newspaper, which I had never seen before. We started with the fried pickles, which my daughter had been craving, and they did not disappoint. They come in sandwich slice slivers versus coin shaped and were delicious. My wife and I split wings and son had chicken fried steak.....all were delicious and great portion sizes. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a good place to eat and want to grab a beer at the same time.

I liked the diner vibe this place has. The staff were really friendly and perhaps a little too open... but I enjoyed it. Almost felt like getting food at family friend's house. As far as the food goes, I had a green chili burrito (I was visiting NM, so had to try it) which was really, really delicious. Some of the ingredients were subpar, though, including the lettuce, rice, and beans.

I do not like to leave negative reviews if I can help it. I try to find the good and not look for the bad but unfortunately for this place it is negative. Steaks were burned and so tough could not be eaten. One of my daughters ordered the California chicken sandwich (which she always orders the safest thing on menu at new place) and she said it was good. She was the only one out of 5 that had a good meal. Chips and salsa are very good they just don't give enough to last and they are very short staffed so takes forever to get service. The homemade tortillas were good also but for the overall experience we will not eat here again.:-(

We came to this place in our way out of town looking for to go food for our trip. It was in a very convenient spot and there wasn't too many people as it was a workday after 9AM. My husband ordered the coffee and we got two bacon burritos to go. The burritos were HUGE & LOADED! They had bacon, potato and egg and they came with a yummy green salsa. These were perfect for breakfast and lunch. My one complain would be the amount of time we had to wait to get served but it could have been because the people in front of us had a big order. Overall the burritos were good and the service was friendly.

Circle J Barbecue is a small but impressive place that's easy to miss if you're not paying attention. The brisket sandwich and pulled pork sandwich are both highlights, with the brisket boasting hickory notes and a pepper bark while the pulled pork is described as moist and juicy. Visitors have also praised the real cheese mac-n-cheese and delicious sides like potato salad. The service has been consistently commended, with staff members being helpful, polite, and quick to assist with any needs.
This was a great stop for lunch, and as a Central Texan who enjoys good BBQ, this was a welcome surprise to find in New Mexico. The sausage and pulled pork were both fantastic, and my husband had the brisket and ribs and was equally as impressed. Good sides, and a peach iced tea made for a fantastic meal. My husband asked to see the smoker—and they obliged. Service, food, and even the sauces (which are great, but thankfully not needed) are worth recommending if you’re in the area.

As soon as we walked in a tall gentleman helped us right away. Gave us instructions on how to order and had us pick drinks. My elderly father needed to use the restroom and both gentleman working were quick to tell us where the restrooms are and both of them were polite and kind. Appreciated that!!! We ordered our food and the brisket was delicious. It wasn't dry. And the BBQ sauce on the table was good. The potato salad and macaroni and cheese was delicious. I'd go again if I was in the area. My father had the turkey and he wished he had an order to go and talked about how good the food was the next day. He's extremely picky so it says a lot when he can't stop talking about the food. 😊

Very laid back restaurant- 2 people total running the front and back. Quick friendly service... best of all, very tender brisket and turkey. Only "complaint" is the meats & sides could use a tiny bit more salt but i guess thats what salt shakers are for... otherwise... this place is good!

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch after a day of off roading and were quite impressed with the service and food quality. It's such a small place I almost missed it when driving past, so keep an eye open when driving through. The brisket sandwich is on point with notes of hickory and a beautiful pepper bark. The mac-n-cheese is made with real cheese and has strings of cheese pulling away with every fork full. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich that was very moist and juicy with every bite. The sweet tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. Definitely make this a stop on your route, you won't regret it.

I smoke my own meat every summer so I am a little picky when it comes to BBQ. Me and two friends stopped here for lunch on our way to Cloud Croft, NM, the service was prompt and friendly but the BBQ was nothing special; ribs were bland and I don't believe they were smoked in house. The sides were good, potato salad and mac and cheese for sure

Poor quality. Beans were undercooked. The potato salad was in one word "yuk" . I've eaten here before but this time was not the best. If the owner reads these potato salad is not brown!!! And beans are not suppose to be hard after cooking.

A++++ will definitely be going back.

Schlotzsky's is a fast-food establishment that offers a variety of deli-style cuisine, including their signature sandwich, specialty pizzas, and salads. This counter-service chain has gained popularity for its delectable food options made with fresh ingredients. Patrons praise the soft and chewy crust of their pizzas, which are always cooked to perfection. The sandwiches at Schlotzsky's are particularly noteworthy as they are generously sized, even larger than one's face.
The sandwich that I ate was the turkey bacon small, and my wife got the apple Cobb salad. Both were good but the waitress brought my wife a spoon for her salad. Otherwise anytime we are in Ruidoso we eat at least once here.

Very upset with the product I went in and ordered a large original, and I got a Sandwich smothered with mustard when I tried calling them to get this corrected they pulled the phone off the line and just let it ring and then I finally got to the message box and started leaving a message where I was then hung up on again all I would like is a refund if someone could contact me that would be great to make up for this that left a terrible taste in my mouth. Lots of mention a terrible taste of the food as well. Going to post pics. My napkins were full of mustard.

Great variety of sandwiches and kids meals! The staff was nice and the food all tasted amazing. Only complaint is the prices are a little expensive for 3 meals it was almost $40 but we were satisfied with our meal! Good when you are visiting and need a treat for lunch plus great location in Ruidoso

It has been years, maybe even a decade since I eat at a Schlotzsk's. But this was my second time here within a few days. First was for a BOGO pizza and then this sandwich. All in all a good lunch and good drink.

Ordered lunch and sandwiches and soup were so tasty. The gentleman who took our order, I think his name is Jeff was so nice and friendly and we really appreciated his kindness. He had glasses and was a little bit older and he made all of us smile. Definitely an exceptional employee. Thank you for a great experience.

Wonderful pizzas for $5 after 5pm on Friday-Sunday. Sandwiches are amazing as well. Sandwiches are some of if not the best I’ve ever eaten. No lie

I'm willing to give restaurants a second chance to see if they can improve. We went for lunch, and I ordered my turkey bacon club on jalapeño bread with extra bacon with jalapeño chips and a large drink, and we ordered everyone else's food of a turkey bacon on sourdough,a french dip and a turkey club on sourdough all with chips and a large drink. This time, our order was correct, which was nice, and they even had a decent amount of costumers, so for it to be correct made me really happy. I even noticed this time that to go, orders were getting ready before the customer even came in. I was very pleased, so whatever they were doing or if the manager was there they should keep up that kind of service of all the time,it was nice and we will be back again 😀

Bar & grill
Bar
The bar and grill called Quarters had a closed kitchen, preventing the opportunity to sample their food. The ladies' restroom featured small bathroom stalls that would benefit from an upgrade. However, both the bartender and the person checking IDs were pleasant and offered helpful suggestions for nearby dining options. This establishment proved to be a great hometown bar with a spacious patio where visitors could enjoy happy hour drinks. Sam served as an excellent bartender, while Bert was attentive to customers' needs.
The food was amazing. That staff was top notch and they had games you could play. Didn't stay for the live music, but they have live music regularly. The drinks were perfect.
Kalina F — Google review
We ate lunch here a couple times last week. I had the tacos, which were the daily special; there was a lot of meat in them and the salsa was plenty spicy. My wife had a burger, which she liked a lot. There is a decent beer selection as well. The bartender refused to take our beer order when we stepped up to it, but we found a table and our waitress was extremely nice. The 2 time my wife had the chicken wings with Teriyaki. I tried one and thought it was okay, and she enjoyed them more than I did. They were plenty large. I had the Green Chile Cheeseburger. The grain of the patty was tight and looked like a preformed patty, and it was not juicy at all. The patty was cooked fine, with a little pink inside, and had decent flavor, but not great. The bun was basic and lightly toasted, and it held up. The cheese was American, and not melted. The green chile was fresh, but very mild tasting, and the flavor not very good. There was lettuce on the bottom bun; no condiments on the burger, but available on the table. The fries were thin, but not quite shoestring. They were from frozen, and were served warm.

Nice spot to stop at to grab a bite to eat with the kids. The hostess was great she treated my son special for his birthday got the band to sing for him. Very cool experience!! The live music is also a plus very upbeat but chill atmosphere.

3.5 stars. There’s not that many places open late in Ruidoso so if you’re looking to have some fun with friends after 9pm, you’re options are small. If you’re looking for some country dancing, kareoke, or just a place to have some beers this is one of your options. It’s usually pretty busy during the weekends especially if it’s tourist season. If country music ain’t your thing, they do have a jukebox (AMI) you can play music on and you can also download an app for it, similar to TouchTunes. This place is your typical local bar, it’s casual, nothing fancy. It has two pool tables, some arcade games, a patio, a dance floor and plenty of seating. They do have live music on certain days, check their Facebook page or other social media to get that info. They check for ID at the door at night. They do have a kitchen that serves food during the day.
Sandra C — Google review
I see a lot of criticisms on the reviews here. I’d like to give you my honest feedback on this. I personally had an excellent time, the waitress insured that my drink was full at all times and was checking up on me constantly. I love getting to listen to live music from local artists, even throughout this Covid pandemic they are surviving. The social distancing is still on point if anyone is concerned or worried about that. This is a heavy pour bar so if you like your liquor, then you are in luck. My one take away from this that would be negative, is that none of the food is fresh whatsoever and it’s all frozen. The burgers are only cooked well done which for me personally is a no go. However I did have the hatch chili burger and it honestly was quite phenomenal for a well done frozen patty. I am going to maintain a five star on this just due to customer service and quality of experience. I would recommend this and I hope that your experience will be the same as mine was.

I've been here twice. Once my husband and me had drinks outside and it was enjoyable. Second time around, decided to eat here because I wanted to try their stew but they were out. They were actually out of a lot of items. First things first, the waitress was rude and unwelcoming and kept forgetting my drinks. I eventually gave up and just drank my kids soda. Then we ordered the food: Nothing was memorable. In fact my Philly cheesesteaks sandwich tasted bad, like it was spoiled. Needless to say, we all got food poisoning after eating here. I hate that it happened because I like to support local businesses but they need to step up their game and not be so careless because there's plenty of other good food options in Ruidoso.
X K — Google review
Probably one of the worst bars I’ve been to. Seen them kicking out people for simply walking to the bathroom to the other side of the bar. The live music was great but customer service ? Forget it. They don’t have it. I’d rather go to jacks backstage.

Excellent pizza with fresh veggies on top. The green chilis added a nice heat to the pizza. The crust was thin and crispy. I’m not a big pizza fan, but this place made a great pizza. I had a Chilton for my drink since I don’t like beer or wine. The vodka used was great! We will most definitely be back for the pizza! The service was great!

Great place to sit and enjoy some hometown brews. Reasonably priced and in the middle of town it's a must stop while walking around.Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the whole brewing process so ask away.

Went yesterday after a long traveling day. So disappointing... Better beer? Beer was fine. Better pizza? Yeah, no. Tombstone frozen AT BEST. Prices exorbitant! $47 dollars for an overcooked burger ("sorry, the best the kitchen will do is MW"), a pepperoni pizza, and one beer. Also a VERY long wait, with maybe half the tables occupied. Too bad the bartender told us it would be 45 minutes for the food AFTER we ordered and paid. Tourist trap!!! Don't bother. Do better! No excuse for this low level of service and quality. None.
Adine K — Google review
The most humble and kind staff, from someone who lives in Alamogordo, they take the time to understand what you like and find the perfect beer for your taste. The live music is wonderful and the environment is light and inviting. Had a great time here. Their truffle fries are amazing btw!!!

I loved this place. It’s more of a bar but it’s family friendly during the day. The service was great, they took our order and gave us our drinks quickly. We did wait a bit for the food to come out but it did not disappoint. I ordered the House Salad and Buffalo wings. Both were very tasty. My sister ordered the chicken tender sandwich and pepperoni pizza and said it was also very good. The best part of downshift brewery was their beer selection. Snowday was citrusy and fresh and their beer flights were so much fun!

This is a nice comfortable place to go on a Sunday afternoon. I had the chicken tenders and as you can tell, I liked them so much I forgot to take a picture of the full order. The shrimp tacos were good as well. Decent beer selection. Give it a shot while in Ruidoso.

The downshift brewery is definitely a hidden gem in this noisy river village of Ruidoso New Mexico. Absolutely loved it I actually parked behind the brewery side as soon as I got out of the car very quaint place I could hear music coming out of their continued towards the village so we could shop a little bit unfortunately during memorial day weekend all the shops closed up before 6 PM. Cruised around for a minute went to quarters they were not serving food past 1 PM on Sunday unfortunately. So we went to the downshift brewery they had live music a one-man show very entertaining very diverse music from country to patriotic to rock and classics. This brewery is very inviting with a very nice assortment of IPA local beers. Definitely stop on by the atmosphere is great very inviting plus delicious food which they serve till midnight or closing time. The selection of beer is oh phenomenal cannot get over the amount of choices they offer. My favorite was the alien IPA beer definitely suggested try it out when you’re over here in town or definitely pick some up at your neighborhood grocery store. Definitely come by and check out downshift brewery in noisy river Village in Ruidoso New Mexico a great place to enjoy it have a good time. By the way this is actually a family friendly environment I took two teenage boys of 15 years old and they had a great time and enjoyed the wings the pizza and the chicken tenders.

La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant may seem unassuming from the outside, but it offers excellent and authentic Mexican food. Visitors have raved about their enchiladas with red sauce and the genuine care shown by the staff towards customers. The restaurant is highly recommended for its incredible food, including tamales, burgers, and menudo. While some mention slow service and a lack of atmosphere, the quality of the food makes up for it.
Excellent food and service. I had carne asada and my husband had carne adobada with eggs. Delicious!

We have been here before and loved it. This time not so much. Food wasn't really all that good, beef tacos tasted like chili from a can chicken tacos were clumpy and tasteless. The only thing that was good was the burger we ordered. Idk if they changed cooks or suppliers or what. We were charged for chips and salsa The restaurant was clean just not as homey as I remember.

We were starving and we wandered onto this little gem. The wait staff was so very friendly. Three of us ate the breakfast. I had the omelet. It was good. My son had the breakfast burrito and really liked it. My youngest had the kids pancake. They made them into Mickey for him. He loved the special touch. My husband had the hamburger. He said it was ok. We all ate for around $40. This is a good place to stop.

I can see why the burritos are so big what they make up in size the lack in taste and quality. No seasoning in the burrito and the chorizo was not even mixed in to the egg. When ordering the girl seemed very annoyed that we were ordering food very uncomfortable. Will not return.

On a Sunday lunch, I was the only one in the restaurant. They did a good take our business but I was the only one in the restaurant. It felt strand but it was off season in Ruidosa. Ordered a personal pizza that was quite good. Pizza was a good value but a soft drink was almost half the price of the pizza. But that's how restaurants make money today. Service was a little slow but place was very clean with a good pizza place atmosphere.

The Google restaurant suggestion for El Paraiso Mexican Restaurant was highly praised by all. The salsa provided a unique twist with its pico-like texture and the addition of an intriguing herb, enhancing its distinct flavor. The group of nine, including children, received prompt seating and experienced excellent service from their waiter. The red sauce offered spiciness while the green sauce boasted flavorful notes, making both options appealing. Additionally, customers appreciated the availability of Christmas as a sauce choice.
We had been passing by this restaurant when grocery shopping and finally stopped in one Saturday last month. Very happy we did!! The restaurant is cute and clean and has indoor seating and what looks like patio seating but inside the old mall. The staff working were very friendly and attentive. The food was great!! My husband had a chorizo and egg plate, I enjoyed the Bistek a la Mexicana plus a cup of menudo, and our niece had the Al Pastor tacos. The chips and salsa were complimentary and very good! The chorizo was flavorful and came w corn tortillas, potatoes and beans. The Bistek a la Mexicana had tender, perfectly marinated fajita beef and eggs and beans. The menudo was pretty good!! It had the best consistency and full of flavor and a good ratio of meat and hominy. The Al pastor tacos are really good and I will definitely try my own next time we are there! The tacos came w a side salsa and it was spicy and delicious, a great pairing for those tacos!

This establishment, like many others, fails to provide adequate assistance with opening doors for individuals accompanying wheelchair users. The disabled ramp, intended for wheelchair access, is cracked and hazardous, necessitating caution. Numerous menu items were unavailable. The food was satisfactory, though not exceptional.

Their food reminds me of something you’d eat at your grandma’s house (in the best way). Very cozy & delicious. The staff was very friendly, too! I had an omelette with peppers, tomato, onions, cheese & shared the most savory, warmest albóndiga soup with my husband. Everything was very tasty! We wanted to go back the next day, but they were closed. Next time.
Ivonne A — Google review
Excellent Google restaurant recommendation. Everyone enjoyed everything. Salsa is interesting, more like pico than traditional salsa, and contains some interesting herb, as pictures on the side of the bowl. Not sure what that is but it's adds interesting flavor to the salsa making it unique. Large group of 9 containing kiddos seated almost immediately. Waiter was great. As typically speaking the red sauce has the heat and the green has flavor. Christmas is available for the sauces! Love that lunch specials included tea or coffee!

We were recommended by another restaurant that wasn't open at the time, but the owner came out and recommended El Paraiso. Friendly waitresses, and great food. Excellent recommendation!
Dorothy M — Google review
This place just recently reopened so I was excited to try it out, especially since they offer Menudo and Pozole. With that said, my husband ordered the menudo, it was a bit watered down but the hominy to meat ratio was good. My husband needed to add a substantial amount of salt to bring out the flavor. I had the Jumbo Shredded Beef Burrito smothered in Green Chile Sauce, it was good, plenty of shredded beef inside but it did also need salt, next time I want to try it with Red Chile Sauce. My kiddo got the kids cheeseburger which was really tasty. It came plain, just cheese and meat with a packet of mustard and ketchup on the side, perfect. The service was a bit slow which I'm assuming it's because the restaurant has been closed so they are still trying to get in their rhythm but at the same time they weren't packed so it could have been a little better. Although I wasn't impressed with the food this go around, I am going to go back a few more times to try out different items. They have 5-6 outside patio tables for outdoor dining. No indoor dining.
X K — Google review
In town for a softball tournament and found the place based of reviews. Very disappointing. The queso was literally bad nacho cheese sauce and cold at that. Although 4 servers were working, we never got refills on our drinks. Food was mediocre at best but the rice was awful.

Best New Mexican food in Ruidoso! There's a reason why the locals eat here and it's because it's delicious! The green sauce was perfect and the red sauce with it's slight heat was awesome. Even on busy days like Christmas, the Sonic team efficiently handles the crowds while ensuring prompt food preparation. Their offerings are delectable and well-seasoned.
Not only did it take 30 minutes to pick up a mobile order, the burger patty is old and hard, and the burger is made completely wrong. Since when did quarter pounders come with lettuce, onion, and tomato. Zero stars if I could.

Seriously I moved here a year ago and this is some of the most abysmal service and food I've received anywhere. Both times that I've been dumb enough to eat here I've received my orders completely wrong, staff is totally overworked and there's two people on staff when they would need at least 4 to keep good time. Whoever owns this franchise I sincerely hope you experience half the working conditions you're putting literal teenagers through. This place is totally mismanaged, terribly maintained and way too expensive to be considered fast food. Do better franchise owner! Or quit!

This was the worst experience I have had at a Sonic. All the food was cold and not made right. The drinks tasted like carbonation. I called to let the manager know and she said she would give me a refund to my credit card for the 54.00 I spent there but that was on July 5th and it’s been 6 days now with no refund. Definitely would not recommend this location to anyone.

Visiting Ruidoso, we came here twice in one day. 1st time the order was messed up and the jr chicken patty was seconds away from being burnt. On the 2nd visit we thought just ordering shakes shouldn't be a problem, right? Ordered it on the app well before arriving. After arriving and checking in to a stall, we waited 30 minutes before being so mad that we called the store to try to cancel the order. They had the nerve to say the shakes were already made. We left without the shakes and got Mc Flurries.

I placed an order at 6:39 PM and got it at 9pm. This wasn’t just about the food—it was a test of service quality. A few days ago, I tipped generously upon delivery and the service was prompt. This time, I tipped a smaller amount but paid everything upfront. The difference in treatment was noticeable and unacceptable. If you are ordering out make sure to pay in cash with them. Cant say i didnt warn you. I paid for the product and the service. That should be enough. No customer should be penalized or deprioritized based on how much extra they give. I appreciate people who serve others, however tips is extra not supplemental. I blame the business. Pay your workers. Safe-to-say i will never order delivery ever. Tip culture is out of hand

Placed my order via the app which is my usual method. My recent order was placed/received at 5:55pm and the tracker estimated delivery in about 36-51 minutes. The didn't move from "prep" for over an hour after placing my order. I called the store and was placed on hold for 35mins awaiting to visit someone about my order and the issues. (If you're looking for a job, they're hiring...I know this after listening to the recording on repeat for 35mins.)was told the tracker is merely a corporate guess and to call for accurate times. No thanks!! I'll take my business elsewhere. My order arrived at 7:30pm and was barely warm. My thin & crispy was thin & wimpy. The pan pizza was barely warm and a soggy crust. Fortunately, our pizza stone was hot (1.5hrs hot), so we heated our pieces for a few minutes. This isn't the first time our orders required more cooking or heating up. This is my last time though.

First of all...so,so good and super generous portions! We have lived full time in Ruidoso for over two years and visited many times before moving, but never ate at this restaurant. Last night, we called in and picked up one of the most delicious meals. There is no dine in,only call in and pick up. We ordered twice cooked pork, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken. My twice cooked pork was the best I have ever had! The fried rice was delish! Sweet and sour soup was very, very good. We will definitely pick up again. Just know that each item might be shared because of generous amounts. I rate their food #1

Charlie B — Google review
We went here for a quick bite to eat. It is very clean and well decorated. The reason I am giving this a 2 star is because the chicken was obviously very old and stale. I wish this was not the case. If the chicken was fresh, it would have been 5 stars. However, it is a very dangerous and disrespectful to serve stale food, especially stale chicken. I hope they fix this problem.

We came in very late but she still put out new food on the buffet. Lo mien was great! Spicy sesame chicken had a great flavor . Everything was yummy. Place was supper clean. Even the drapes (lots of restaurants over look this detail). We will be back next time we are in town.

Yee's offered the worst Chinese buffet experience I've ever had. We came in a few minutes after they opened for the evening some of the fried items on it were extremely hard and chewy, like they had been sitting there all afternoon. I was just glad we didn't get food poisoning after eating there. Would not recommend.

Impressed with food, not a whole lot of complaints other than them not having sweet and sour chicken. Food was hot for it being a slow part of the day! Very friendly and accommodating staff! Never empty cups or picked at buffet while we were there. We did go on a overcast day where it was naturally a darker day, and they had very limited lighting, it was too dim for a Chinese buffet, I don’t know if they have lights for the night but if they do that would make it better.... $8.99 plus tax per person dinner, not too bad! Building need an upgrade but other than that very good and kind staff. Seemed very clean as well!

The buffet did not look appetizing at all. The entree I ordered, Sesame Chicken was not bad but the chow mein my wife ordered was not served with noodles but just a plate of cabbage with a piece of broccoli and a pepper thrown in. She had to ask for the noodles separately. For our beverages we ordered hot tea and were served the hot tea in plain coffee mugs with the teabag in it, not the traditional small cups and teapot at most Chinese restaurants. The fortune cookies at the end were stale as well. The wait staff and owner were courteous and friendly though.

Wan not able to order due to a lack of communication and their Unwillingness to explain their menu and its prices. Was made to feel like an annoyance and shamed for asking questions. Thus making me cancel our order that turned out being well over 60 bucks . This total did not match their prices online , im pretty sure i over order but they where unable/patient enough to explain anything 😑😞 it was truly a stressful experience and we where hungry too . i doubt we will ever try again .

Breakfast restaurant
Garcia's Cafe is a cozy Mexican restaurant located on Sudderth Drive in Ruidoso. The place offers delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine, including spicy salsa, flavorful chips, cheesy beans, and all-day south-of-the-border breakfast. Visitors praise the friendly service and recommend trying the guacamole and red sauce. While some find the dining area small with limited seating, others appreciate the great food variety at reasonable prices.
Great food at a great price. The restaurant is homey and welcoming. The staff are attentive and friendly. The bathroom is well taken care of. And I got a free dessert for my birthday! Would definitely come back again

The food is good, I ordered the large breakfast with bacon waffle eggs and all that, it was good, plenty of meat, only thing was waffle was kind of dry and crumbly on the batter! But still delicious overall! I also ordered Caldo de Pescado y Camaron (fish and shrimp soup) flavor was good and a solid 8 overall, I liked it! Great price, seated fast, I recommend! This is my Go To Spot for Breakfast and Mexican food in Ruidoso now!! Highly recommend and great prices!! 👍 👍👍

What can’t we say about Garcias?? If you’re looking for the best place to stop for true authentic Mexican food, this is the place! It was recommended to us by a local. Food was so so so good!! Our waitress was great! She did forget about one of our people’s beer, she had to ask for it, but no worries. My plate initially came out wrong but they did me right and brought me the right one immediately! This place has the BEST Sweet Iced Tea outside of Texas! And I can say that cause I’ve had tea from a lot of states! Go here! Eat here!! You won’t be disappointed!

The service is good, the place is typical of what you would find in southern NM. Food was actually pretty good esp the pico de Gallo that came with chips. It is unfortunate that the red chile sauce was not up to par, for me, it ruined the whole meal; whoever made the Chile sauce mixed in tomatoes and tomato sauce in the chile sauce, It made a real runny and frankly a poor tasting sauce, also made corn tortilla for the enchilada soggy. a real unfortunate thing for a chile purist like me.

Ordered 4 burritos to go, when using my card to check out, she added her own tip and cleared the screen when I was about to question it. When finalizing the transaction, the option for tip came up again, I declined after already seeing the tip she added for herself. The food is good, but don’t be shady when tipping yourself. This is not good service. When I got the receipt, her tip was there plus the card transaction fee. Do better with your employees cafe Garcia.

First time guest. Took 15 min to get a menu and our drink order (wasnt busy yet). The drinks werent good, tasted like water, even after trying others. Cheese Enchilada was one of the worst ive had, too tomato-y on the sauce. Tamale plate was decent and Menudo was good, needed more spices though. Not one to try here again. Service was mid.

Chips and salsa served as soon as we sat down. Super good! I ordered the combination plate that had a ground beef taco, chile relleno, and a chicken enchilada with rice and beans. My husband ordered the shredded beef burrito with rice and beans. We both enjoyed our meal! Sopapillas were delicious, too!

Sandwich shop
Caterer
Fast food restaurant
Subway is a casual counter-serve chain that offers customizable sandwiches and salads, catering to health-conscious customers. The staff at this location in Ruidoso were extremely friendly and efficient, maintaining a calm atmosphere during the busy lunch hour. They demonstrated excellent communication skills while managing incoming orders. The sandwich I received was prepared perfectly and they even accommodated my request for extra pickles. This Subway reminded me of the subway restaurants in San Antonio, where teamwork and great service were also evident.
Wow! 🤩 The two guys who made my food were so nice! It was so refreshing to have such great customer service. They smiled the whole time. The sandwiches were great, and I was in and out of there pretty quick. Thank you! 😊
Cassidy B — Google review
Manager you NEED to fire your employees, they kept playing around, CURSING at each other infront of the customers, talking slang, being rude and ignoring customers while “they” were chatting. Our subway was getting made by one of the guys while the girl kept picking at him and being loud, annoying and just rude! The other guy was laughing and playing around while the guy preparing our subway was going along with both of them WHILE THERE WAS CUSTOMERS WAITING TO ORDER! Like seriously??? Facility was not kept up with and bathrooms were dirty!

DONT COME HERE! I was standing in line behind a couple placing an order for 35 sandwiches when the staff began displaying a rude attitude toward them. Additionally, the staff were openly talking and complaining about the customers right in front of everyone. Then, the staff skipped their order to help us first. While I can understand this to some extent due to the abrupt way they were told to wait, it was still unprofessional. When it was our turn, I forgot to ask for avocado initially, which meant they had to run and get more because they didn’t have enough on hand. At that moment, an older gentleman who wasn’t assisting me stopped what he was doing to lecture me with a condescending attitude about why I should have asked for avocado first. I responded respectfully, explaining that I noticed but that the ingredient isn’t visible, and I would remember next time. To make matters worse, a fly 🪰landed on my sandwich right in front of this man. I informed him repeatedly, but he did nothing until I mentioned it a fourth time. There was no apology or replacement offered for the contaminated sandwich. This experience was extremely disappointing. I will definitely not be returning, and I intend to share this experience with others.

This subway was awful. Two employees were so hateful and rude. The gentleman had hickeys all over his neck. The girl just stared at you didn’t make you feel welcome at all made you feel uncomfortable ordering your food like you were a problem the only gentleman who was nice and Very helpful. Was the gentleman working at the register

I have been to so many subways and this is by far the worst! Almost all locations participate in the deals $6.99 a 6” meal except the two in Ruidoso, all because of the owner. Every deal that’s on tv or coupons he doesn’t do because he’s so cheap. I’ve heard him get rude with a customer even asking about a coupon. This man owns 3 subways. He definitely doesn’t need the money that bad.

I recently dined at Subway in Ruidoso, New Mexico, and while the food was satisfactory and the employees were friendly, I was disappointed by the lack of professionalism in their conversation. The casual and vulgar speech used by the staff made for an uncomfortable dining experience. I hope the management addresses this issue to maintain a more pleasant environment for customers.
Ryan N — Google review
Disturbing behavior from the staff at this store. Cursing, laughing and completely ignoring customers in line. One bossy girl named Hailey verbally threatened the only nice guy doing a good job, causing a huge scene in front of us. Upon receiving our sandwich, another kid named Matt took payment with no smile and no thank you. How is it possible that the owner hasn’t fired these children?! Shameful. Never coming back.

I had done a review recently, and it was on the alamogordo subway . For some reason, it tagged this restaurant instead of the one in alamogordo, which was nasty and unclean. This subway here in Ruidoso has always been clean and has always had fresh food and great customer service. I didn't catch it until I was going to post a picture just now, but I will recommend this subway to everyone who is looking for a healthy meal
