Nestled in the charming town of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Billy the Kid Casino is a vibrant gaming destination that promises an exhilarating experience against the breathtaking backdrop of the Sierra Blanca Mountains. With over 300 slot machines and various table games like blackjack and poker, it caters to both seasoned gamblers and casual players alike. Stopped in to check it out. After walking out of another for lack of service. The staff was awesome, food delicious, beautiful place. Would recommend it
Yvonne S — Google review
The dining room very scenic, wish we came here during horse racing time. The outside has places to bet, a small bar and a performing stage. The food was a little overcooked but good tasting. The service was haphazard, we didn't get our silverware till after we got our food. Our server Pretzel tried her best, very friendly and full of good information about the area. The casino was ok we broke even. They do have military discount.
J P — Google review
Sad the infield is all dirt. Use to be a pretty view of green. I hope they do some landscaping soon. The casino is always fun. They have a smoking area with slots and video blackjack.
Kimberley H — Google review
Our first visit and it was fun.. the Casino is not as big as I thought but again it's a horse track first. The restaurant atmosphere was great, the sitting was indoor and outdoor. They had a person playing a guitar and singing. He was not bad at all, did a great cover of Sam hunts song. The food was okay could have been great with alittle more seasoning.. the employees were AMAZING.. PBR WEEKEND WAS AWESOME, THAANK YOU!!!
LaTonyia R — Google review
The flood had a negative effect on the casino. It was still good but no horse racing due to the damaged race track.
Steve D — Google review
Do not go there they do not care about the customers they have had no ac all summer and it’s 100 degrees in that place they have a 10%payout and nobody goes because it’s too hot. Just roll down your window and throw your money out same effect except you get cool air
Anita T — Google review
It's a small casino, mainly slots, video black jack and roulette. It was fun playing some penny slots. The staff keeps it clean and wipes down the machines. I didn't notice any waitress getting drinks but there is a bar outside the casino floor area.
Darrell D — Google review
Great service, atmosphere, and food. Little pricey, but with the service it’s worth it.

The Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art venue located on a scenic mesa overlook, offering upscale entertainment including Broadway-caliber shows, world-class theater and dance performances, symphonies with incredible acoustics, and famous comedians. Since 1997, this non-profit theater has been entertaining audiences with professional performances of the highest caliber. The venue also features a beautiful glass lobby and an intimate atmosphere that endorses cultural enrichment in rural communities.
Great place! In the middle of nowhere and this beautiful theater just pops up! Saw a ballet there and all the seats were good, the staff was kind and friendly and the location so nice. Plus it's getting renovated so I'm sure it'll only get better!
Jakayla M — Google review
I've been here for many events over the years, and it's an amazing venue for its size. The drive to get there is absolutely beautiful, whether you are staying in Alto, or coming from other nearby locations, like Ruidoso. There really isn't a bad seat in the house, the design and acoustics are fabulous. There is an atrium event space, so would be good for meetings, receptions, etc., and offers a wonderful view of the surrounding area. Note that all the parking is in the rear of the building, and there is plenty of it.
Neil C — Google review
Spencer theater is one of the main Staples of Alto Ruidoso and surrounding areas. It's a huge asset to our local community. The performing arts here are spectacular and some of the artists that we attract are amazing. Needless to say, we have the pleasure of supplying dumpsters to this amazing place for a roof replacement. Thank you for the work and thank you for being here for the community. Looking forward to more plays and theatrical arts
Mountain L — Google review
We purchased the dinner before the show and it was delicious. Nice atmosphere and great show. Theatre is not too big so any seat has a good view.
Nancy L — Google review
This is a cute, intimate theater and I endorse the mission of bringing cultural enrichment to rural communities. Architecture is nice, and the glass lobby is beautiful. Staff was all exceptionally friendly. I was not very impressed by the dinner service offered before the show, however. Served on plastic plates with plastic utensils, I felt like I was having school lunch. I feel like this was more of a fundraising effort. But I loved Cats and I'd definitely come again to see more touring broadway!

I got married November 2018 , and let me tell you it was the best decision we ever made! I wanted to give a shoutout to Simon (she is a loving cook), Sharon (She is a great house manager and I might add a super great bartender), Every staff member down to the IT guy have the best personalities. I was not ONCE stressed. From the beginning of the year to to the day of! Everyone was wowed by our venue, Im telling you right now if you get married there rent both the crystal lobby and the the stage, your family and friends will be wowed!! P.S. get Mad Jacks BBQ in Cloudcroft 100% worth it

If you go the the buffet you have to make reservations. We were disappointed about that and hungry. But the concert was excellent. The theatre is very nice.

A must for anyone who enjoys the theater and Chihuly glass (That is Don Chihuly's signature on the stars wall). Free behind the scenes tour on Tuesday and Thursday Mornings. I would love to see a performance here.

Fort Stanton Historic Site, located in New Mexico, is a well-preserved military fort with a rich history dating back to 1855. It has witnessed significant events such as the Indian Wars, Civil War, and the Billy the Kid era. The site also served as a tuberculosis hospital and an internment camp for WWII German sailors. Visitors can explore various buildings and exhibits that offer insights into its historical significance. The on-site museum provides a 10-minute video presentation and features a gift shop.
Excellent Museum and historic site. Several of the buildings you can walk through and see how the soldiers and occupants lived from the time period that this fort was occupied. You go through the hospital their barracks, the dining hall. There was a lot of incredible history here that I was not aware of please do yourself a favor and spend some time walking around the grounds reading the different signs on the grounds. It was a $7 fee to go through everything, if you are a veteran it is free. What a great place hidden away in the mountains, very very cool
Tom S — Google review
Interesting array of different archtecture thru the ages it was actively being used from 1855. It's been a tuberculosis hospital, POW camp, and of course, a US Calvary fort. Many buildings are open to walk through.
Diane F — Google review
So much history at this one place! The varied uses through the years make a visit very enjoyable. Many of the buildings have fallen into disrepair, but restoration is ongoing and the completed areas are great!
David S — Google review
We stumbled across this site while looking for a hike. Its a fantastic place that is working hard to save history. We ended up spending almost 3 hours walking around, going into the open buildings, and the visitors center. The museum and visitors center is really well done and the volunteers a wealth of information. Ended up doing the cemetery hike which was lovely. About 2.5 miles long
Kyra P — Google review
Very cool place to go check out. A ton of history at this fort. We really enjoyed being able to walk into some of the buildings and see exhibits that took you back in time. The fort does a great job at telling the history, along with pictures and pieces to help with the visual including trying on old uniforms and ringing the church bell. Inside the museum there is a little gift shop and you can watch a 10 minute video telling the history of the fort and the area. $7/person with kids under 16 free. This is definitely worth going to see if you are in the area. Restrooms on site as well with benches scattered throughout the fort.
Honeymooners A — Google review
Great piece of American history. There is a fantastic small museum and then several original buildings to walk through. They are in various stages of reconstruction, with some returned to almost original states, some representing the tuberculosis hospital stage and some still ravaged by time and various construction phases.
Steven H — Google review
An immensely well kept and preserved historic site with original buildings from years past, some that still show the passage of time. Although I arrived late and was unable to do a full tour of the place, it was interesting to see the buildings, the barracks, officers quarters, medical area, etc and felt like you took a leap back in time.
Manoj N — Google review
If you are a history buff this is a place for you. Army fort in the 1800's. Tuberculosis sanitarium in the early 1900's. Drug rehab facility more recently. Adjacent to a federal veterans cemetery with its own history. It's quiet and peaceful.

The Billy The Kid Scenic Byway Visitor Center in Ruidoso is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. It offers informative and interactive exhibits that delve into the story of the infamous outlaw, Billy the Kid. The scenic drive through Lincoln National Forest takes you to historic Lincoln, once home to both Billy the Kid and lawman Pat Garrett. While some visitors didn't enter the museum, they found the outdoor walkway with horse statues and informational plaques quite interesting.
Great place to stop to stretch your legs. The informative horse park is very unique. The artist was very realistic. The visitor center has maps and clean restrooms, with a surprise at the men's.
Jana M — Google review
I didn't go in the museum, but I did explore the walkway. The horse statues was pretty cool and the plaques underneath gave good information on the horses. I liked that the plaques was on stands as it made it easier to read. If I'm driving by it again I will definitely go through the museum.

Beautiful mosaic murals of local history here. If you love old west history, this is an excellent stop. It also serves as a tourist info center with plenty of brochures an a knowledgeable person at the desk. You can grab a cold drink, relax an soak up some history.

This was a very interesting place to visit! I'd say it's a must see. The actual museum is closed but the walk around outside view is beautiful. And the inside tour is kinda small but definitely has some very interesting things to see and read. It's a landmark all generation can enjoy.

This is a good place to stop for gas, food, and some fun. They have beautiful flowers outside. The casino patrons were few today, but it was a weekday.
Lorena S — Google review
Red hat grille was surprisingly good. food was delicious and the waitress was amazing! Full of fun energy and gave us great recommendations. Clearly she was knowledgeable about the menu, because she knew all the changes and updates. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and experience there. Too bad we don't live closer, I would go eat there multiple times a year.
Zuzana P — Google review
The Red Hat Grill has good food but a little pricey. Service was good and the restaurant was very clean. Lot of TVs on the wall for sport watchers. The travel center is a good place for gas, booze and even cigarettes. Small casino but very clean, easy to get in and out from US 70. Food is pretty good as well. Gas was 20 cents a gallon less than in Ruidosa.
Leapfrog — Google review
We usually stop by for gas and bathroom break. There's only two bathrooms and a line of travelers waiting. I haven't entered the casino to see if there's more bathrooms in there. Otherwise, the view of the mountain is beautiful!
Silver L — Google review
We just went for the restaurant due to the history of it. Was not much history there. Some old photos but nothing much else. The food was casino food....nothing special at all. Glad to say I ate there, but would not recommend it or go back.
Stan M — Google review
The service was perfect!! Thank you Jose!! The sad part.. there is NO Chef!! No specials. You cant order basic things like Tacos or burritos or quesadillas.. they are not an option The menu while it has fire lingo on it, it is hard to figure out somethings like which one is the chicken fried steak... The chicken fried steak used to be really good.. its full of gristle or fat or something now. I would not recommend it. The prices do not match the quality of food. It's expensive. I'd recommend the workers a ,100%. But the lack of commitment to the quality of food.. far out ways a recommendation to the establishment.
Judy V — Google review
Everyone knows Casino Apache has the lowest priced gas in Ruidoso, but we never expected the casino to be such a blast and the restaurant to have such a great menu. I pulled to the pumps with an empty tank and Mi esposa decides to take a peak inside for the first time in maybe 15 years. After 5 minutes she grabs me and we're parking the truck and spending a couple of hours having fun. They've even got a comfortable sports book inside with decent lines and odds. Apologize for keeping our gaming at the IMG but we'll play here more frequently. It's a spacious place, clean, and we took a little profit that afternoon.

It also features photography, fiber arts, and mixed media exhibits that blend the past with the present. As an affiliate of the Smithsonian, it offers world-class art experiences. The museum guide dressed in 19th-century fashion adds to the immersive experience.
The Museum was Great! We got to get on wagons, horses, try on costumes, and go inside a small Casita! Even the gift shop was great! I bought some turquoise earrings and a coffee cup. Everything in there was amazing 😍!
Amelia D — Google review
I arrived after the place had closed for the day, so I just did the little trail outside and read about the different horses. I'd like to go back and look through the museum itself but with hours like that I dont see it happening. The grounds are clean and the states are very lifelike (at least to a guy who knows nothing about the breeds ha ha)
Kevin — Google review
You must visit! It is an amazing museum full of history and information. Great place for kids and adults. They have areas for kids to touch and play, they can also to dress up. Museum is well kept and clean. It is wheelchair accessible so no one can miss the fun. They also have an area to buy souvenirs.

I love how realistic the displays were set up here. A true representation of the rich history of the Wild West. And you get to play dress up in styles of clothing from that time period. Fun for the entire family.
Shanakay R — Google review
We spent hours here! The kid's dress up & imagination areas were wonderful! They can also complete a booklet and get a prize. No kids? There is a lot to see. Art, wagons, clothing, etc. Dont miss the horse sculptures outside! Handicap parking is available on the lower level.

A wonderful depiction of the American West. Lovely buggy's, wagons, chuck wagon and other items used to live in the wild west. Beautiful jewelry and household items from The Anne C. Stradling collection. A great place for children to explore. Along with a wonderful reading corner or a buggy to climb on. Take a couple of hours and go explore the history of the area. Note; handicap parking is on the lower back side.

The hotel was very beautiful and mystical. I love the sound of the flute playing throughout the lobby. There is so much to see. So many details that make that place is beautiful like the paintings on the wall or the staircase in front of the lobby or the giant windows with the lake view. Even the lighting in the hallways were eye catching. And the golf course was one of the most amazing courses I’ve been on. We are definitely going back to play more golf.

I came here on a daytrip to have some fun at the casino. I had a blast! The staff is extremely kind and hospitable. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The only thing that was a negative, was the food at the Broken Arrow Tap House. The service was top notch, however I wasn't a fan of the food. It was extremely overpriced and the quality isn't what you expected for the price (I ordered a Alfredo dish and the sauce tasted like it came from a can -it was super gross). However, I do plan on going back and trying another restaurant.

A beautiful and romantic getaway spot! My wife and I recently visited the Inn of the Mountain Gods in Ruidoso, and it was absolutely breathtaking! Even though we didn’t stay overnight, the visit itself felt like a mini getaway. The views of the lake surrounded by mountains were peaceful and picture-perfect — the kind of scenery that makes you stop and take it all in. We spent time walking around the resort, enjoying the casino, and having a delicious meal while taking in the view. Everything was clean, relaxing, and welcoming. The staff were kind and made the experience even better. It’s truly the perfect spot for couples looking to unwind and enjoy nature’s beauty. We’ll definitely be back again soon! ❤️
Tanessa A — Google review
I have never visited their rooms and have only checked out their casino. For the region, this casino is the best of the best. Technically my closest casino is sunland park but I rarely have a good time there. I go out of my way an additional hour to visit Inn of the Mountain gods. The casino floor is closer to “Vegas style” than any other casino in the El Paso/Ruidoso region and I highly recommend it if you’re into slots. The casino does offer some dealer/table games as well, such as poker and blackjack and craps roulette and more, with a few digital tables/games as well. You’re not allowed to drink on the general casino floor, but they do have some workarounds available to help us with the restrictiveness of our region. For example, there is a shot bar on the casino floor that’s opened on weekends or when it’s really busy, that allows a quick shot then back to the floor. There’s also a sports bar and a cigar lounge that also allows you to drink with some slot games. Keep in mind the slots in the sports/cigar area are bingo slots. So although they don’t allow a full freedom of where you can drink, I still appreciate the steps that they’ve taken in order for us to have a good time with the laws in place. I absolutely love the inn of the mountain gods and I’ve probably found myself going to this location about five times a year. Have fun and goodluck.
Jedacast — Google review
The Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino is a gem in Ruidoso! The location is absolutely breathtaking—nestled in the mountains with stunning lake views, it’s hard to find a resort with a better setting. I spend summers in Ruidoso and frequently visit the casino, which never disappoints. The building is beautifully decorated, celebrating the Mescalero Apache tribe with thoughtful cultural touches. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and offer gorgeous lake views. Wendell’s restaurant is a standout—top-notch dining that elevates the experience. The Fourth of July fireworks are a highlight, truly unbeatable. Highly recommend this resort for a perfect blend of luxury, nature, and entertainment!
Dustin S — Google review
The house was beautiful and the views were spectacular! The house was rented for 4 days but they only left 1 small roll of paper towels and 2 small rolls of toilet paper in each of the 2 bathrooms. For the price paid the paper towels and toilet paper should have been stocked better for 7 people. Other than that it was a great vacation!

All with the best attitude and utmost respect I hope you guys give Denny some type of incentive for reviews cuz he deserves it. Alone off of his customer service we will gladly come back. Thank you for a great experience and time

When we checked into our room the toilet wouldn’t flush but sounded like it was constantly filling up, maintenance came and fixed it. The shower did not have a shower curtain, when I called the front desk the guy said to look at the shower and I’d see it. I repeated there was no curtain so house keeping brought me a shower curtain. The shower itself is an abomination, the pressure is terrible, the shower head leaks everywhere, just rough all the way around. The in room dining service is really good, Wendell’s was really good, and the gambling was great, just wish the room was better.

Visitors can also enjoy the petting zoo and take fun photos at this quirky spot.
This place is amazing!! The cave itself is just jaw dropping but then the artwork and creativity that went in to decorating it is the coolest I’ve seen. Plus there’s video games, board games, darts, and frisbee golf. The workers were super friendly and helpful! Really great guys. Thank you for an amazing experience!! A creative masterpiece!!

Hang out in the old Ice Cave where Billy the Kid himself used to hang out… SAY LESS! This place has amazing vibes, knowledgeable staff, and great gifts. Coolest dispensary we’ve ever been to!! The actual dispensary building is in the back to the right after you drive in the entrance, it’s actually built into a cave in the side of the mountain. Very friendly and helpful staff. The lounge in the back is a HUGE cave, there are convenient trays around and so many interesting things to look at and do. Lots of aliens. They have tons of games in there to play. It would be so much fun to bring a group of friends there and spend some more time. Really glad we stopped by!

What an absolute vibe! This place has it all for the 21+ dispensary and disc golf loving crowd. Fox cave is a former tourist spot of historical significance, rife with local legend. Now it's a dispensary with a great selection, offering something for everyone, including wall to wall choices of 420 themed gifts and novelties. Step behind the curtains and you've entered a smoking lounge that you'd think was an extention of Meow Wolf. Complete with an arcade and tv's, you could easily relax solo or with a group. Colorful and ecentric offering eye-popping fun this space is perfect for pregame partaking, before hitting the 9-hole disc golf fun course. Both the manager and budtender were super friendly and helpful, and the lounge was stocked with any apparatus imaginable to help you enjoy your purchase. The disc golf course is a riot. Bring a mid range, a putter and a smile, it's the putt putt disc course I've always wanted. Complete with fun obstacles and dinosaurs. A little more clean up and maintenance and this little course will be amazing. Didn't bring discs? No problem! There's some available in the store. One last trip to the lounge to cool off and wind down before heading home. Taking it all in, this made for one of the best "roadside" experiences we've had in a very long time. If we were local, this would be our "home" dispensary, no doubt. Thank you Weed World! We'll be back!

The upper floors look great...the lower, ground level floor, not so much. The restrooms are in terrible shape and filthy!

This is a really cool place. The staff are very knowledgeable about their products and super friendly. I "high"ly recommend these guys. Lots of cool info and facts about cannabis. Definitely a must see.

We were looking for something to do in Ruidoso, because, well, there's really nothing(unless you love nature!!!) Anyway, Google maps shows there's a Cannabis Museum, like, WHAT??? Without looking into it I just pushed "directions" and off we went. And what a decision! It's a dispensary with the museum below it, basement kinda. Lots of cool information, a dark rook with glowing art and even a spot for taking photos! Wasn't planning on getting cannabis but after visiting the museum, we had to get something. Ps, the museum is FREE!!! But you must check in, 21+ only.

This is my new favorite dispensary! The staff is incredibly helpful and extremely friendly. Quality products and great prices especially if you have your medical card. They stay open later than any other dispensary in town which is nice. I will definitely be back!
