Cafe
Located at 2112 Main St, Julian, CA 92036, the Julian Cafe is a historic eatery and gift shop with Old West decor. Established in 1972, it is known as the Home of the Famous Julian Apple Pie. The cafe offers hearty and traditional Western fare from breakfast to dinner, including their renowned apple pie available in various flavors. Despite being busy on weekends, the place offers a good ambiance and generous serving sizes.
Decided to camp close by Julian. The flowing day on Sunday we went to town and decided to get breakfast. As I was searching, I saw a long line outside Julian Cafe. We were a party of 6. Even though it took 40 minutes for us to get a table, the food was worth it. They give you very large portions. The biscuits and gravy were delicious and so was the hot chocolate. I will definitely stop by again to try some of their other menu offerings. Just remember that there will definitely be a wait especially on the weekend.

From the very first bite, I was blown away! I tried the apple pie and the cinnamon roll, and let me just say—they were out-of-this-world delicious. Hands down, the best I’ve tasted so far! The flavors, the texture, everything was perfection and made the stop so worth it. If you know of any other spots serving desserts this good, send them my way—I’m on a mission to find the best! Go out, explore, and treat yourself to something amazing!

Julian is so popular that parking is just crazy on the weekends. This said, the café is probably the most popular and best place to eat downtown, so wait times for lunch can get to be well over one hour. Staff will let you know about this when they are taking your information for your reservation (you reserve your seat when you arrive when there are wait times, kind of like waiting in line). I was told 45 minutes to wait for a table for 2 at 2 pm on a Sunday (lunch rush). When I came back there was a misunderstanding and a second person told me it would be 30 more minutes. I came back a third time and thankfully found the person who I spoke to originally and she managed to seat us! I didn't catch her name but I'm so grateful! We were served drinks within minutes of being seated and it took about 15 minutes for our food to be prepared and it was worth every minute of the wait. There are some places where you specifically order the one thing because it's their specialty and the one good thing they sell, but here I try to order something new each time I come because the food is amazing and I want to experience it all! I ordered the chicken breast and it was amazing. It was juicy and the crust was crunchy and it melts in your mouth. The gravy has a wonderful blend of spices. They had an option of fries or mashed potatoes. I had mashed potatoes the last time, so I asked for the fries this time. They were crunchy but not hard, not salty at all, and not greasy. The coleslaw is fresh and light, not heavy or greasy, and not overly sweet. I ordered a double shot latte. It was perfect. I didn't want something sweet. But if you like something sweet, you can add flavoring. We didn't order desserts, because we were satisfied with our food, but we have taken whole pies home before and they are delicious. If you are in Julian, this is the place to go. It's definitely worth the wait.
Velia S — Google review
Popped into this place for some pie and coffee after dinner as it was one of the only places still open. Waited about 20 minutes for a table but it was worth it. Had a piece of apple-boysenberry and a slice of their seasonal apple-pumpkin both with a crumble top and huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. So good!! Some of the best pie I’ve had. Will definitely be back.
Sophia L — Google review
The food here is delicious and the portions are super generous—definitely come hungry! The atmosphere is charming and cozy, but emphasis on cozy—the space is pretty cramped, and the bathrooms are oddly located through the kitchen, which feels a little awkward. Be aware that breakfast ends right at 11:30 sharp—miss it by a minute and you’re out of luck. Also worth noting: the entrance has a big staircase and is not wheelchair accessible, so plan accordingly. Despite the quirks, it’s a great spot for a hearty meal in a cute setting.
Brian H — Google review
First time to this lovely town. Missed breakfast but we were extremely satisfied with our lunch. Cara took care of us like we were VIP’s. Literally the crispiest onion rings and fried chicken ever. We had to leave some room for the famous Apple-Peach pie slice a la mode and it was just delicious. Brought a whole Apple pie home and it’s nearly gone! We will be back for sure. 😊

What a great lilltle historic restaurant. We visited on a busy Sunday, mid-morning, and had a short wait, about 20 minutes. We were attended to immediately once seated by a wonderful server, Tara. Had to wait a bit after ordering our food but, to be fair, there were three parties of 7 or more that got seated just before us. Food was AMAZING and portions were large enough for two meals. I ordered the corned beef hash omelette with country potatoes and sourdough toast. Corned beef hash is made daily, in-house, and was on point. My wife ordered the pancake stack which consisted of two, plate size, fluffy pancakes served with butter and syrup. Total for the two breakfasts and an Arnold Palmer with free refills, including tax, was $38 and change. About the going rate these days, but the food quality and quantity was well worth the money.
Ron P — Google review
We both had the Chicken Pot Pie Turnover. It was very disappointing. Not enough sauce/gravy in it. The gravy was all on top and soaked into the crust making it mushy. We asked for more but never got it. The Cole Slaw and French Fries were delicious.

Nestled in a historic building on Main Street, Soups & Such Cafe is a charming and popular spot known for its traditional cafe menu and cheery artwork adorning the walls. The cafe offers a relaxed and welcoming environment with amazing food, friendly staff, and good vibes. It's a go-to destination for fresh, simple, and delicious meals including vegetarian and vegan options. Visitors rave about the quality of ingredients used in their soups, salads, burgers, and sandwiches.
Burger was recommended by the Julian Hotel. Meat is nicely salty. Brioche bun. Crunch with the fresh onions. Sweet fries were perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. Host was very nice.
Quyen T — Google review
Let me start with the positives: The food was amazing. I loved my burger, the soups were great, the house made potato chips and sweet potato fries were delicious. Just a warning, this place has a sign on the door that says they struggle to seat parties of more than for. A very nice man informed us it would be about 25 minutes to sit. It was only 5, which we appreciated! Unfortunately, it was about 20 minutes before our server took our order. It was another 20 minutes for food which i didn’t mind because jr was soo good. And I say that despite the fact that there were two mistakes on our check. My burger was brought without cheese which was fine, I just asked the server to take it off. They also forgot to write down our soup so that never came. When we got the bill, the soup wasn’t on there, so that was fine but the cheese still was. At that point I really just wanted to leave so I let the dollar go. I think they need maybe one more server for these really busy days. the food saved it from being a total wash.

Excellent Reuben sandwich, and salad. Our toddler had 1/2 grill cheese sandwich with Swiss on sourdough and super good!

Wife and I stopped by this place for breakfast and we were NOT disappointed! From the moment we entered, we were met with friendly greetings. Service was awesome and the food came out really quickly. Both of us got the breakfast plate with 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. Everything tasted amazing! Especially the potatoes, which were perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy. We would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Julian!!

This is a must visit cafe! We went right at lunch time and were sat immediately. I had their tuna curry sanwhich and salad combo. My husband thinks they are the best burgers in San Diego. The little ones like their variety of grilled cheese. My folks enjoyed a BLT and sweet potato fries. Everything we had was delicious! We often come in the winter for their Thai curry chicken soup after a day of snow fun.

Brewery
Catering food and drink supplier
Julian Beer Co. is a laid-back brewery and eatery located in the heart of Julian, California. Situated on Main Street, it offers a spacious barn-style setting with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The venue specializes in handcrafted beers and serves up a variety of casual dining options including BBQ, pizza, sandwiches, and small plates. Visitors can enjoy live music, games, and events while savoring their delicious offerings.
Stopped in with my girlfriend today and had lunch. First of all, I love the laid-back vibe of the restaurant. The food was great. The 1/2 lb beef brisket was fresh, juicy, and fell apart in my mouth. The flavor was on point. We were able to order Cesar salad wraps (off the menu), and those were just as great. Thank you for the friendly service and quick turnaround on our order. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

What a fun little find! We stopped into Julian Beer Co. Brewery and Eatery after a local shop owner recommended it, and it definitely added to our adventure. This place has a cozy, small-town charm that makes you feel right at home. My husband and I shared the Classico Pizza and a 1/3-pound brisket. Let me just say—the brisket was incredible! Juicy, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The pizza was good with a nice fresh crust, but I probably wouldn’t order the Classico again since the garlic flavor tasted more like garlic salt, which was a bit too salty for me. Still, not bad at all—just not my personal favorite. Overall, this is such a quiet and quaint stop worth checking out. Just a quick tip: there’s no air conditioning, so it’s best to come during the cooler part of the day (unless you’re someone who doesn’t mind the heat!). Keep exploring, keep tasting, and keep the adventure alive!

The best food in downtown Julian. Great atmosphere. Outstanding BBQ. The brisket sandwich was melt in your mouth delicious as was the succulent chicken accompanied by tasty pesto pasta salad and cole slaw. The smoked beef rib and pizzas also looked top notch so I'll have to come back. Decent beer selection. Premium price super premium product.
Sean J — Google review
This place is always busy so be aware of the long lines and wait times. It takes about 30mins to an hour to get to the front. The pulled pork sandwich is really really good. The brisket is pretty good as well. The sausage wasn't bad as well. I would definitely consider coming back but the long lines are no fun!
Carlos Q — Google review
We went here on a weekday evening to avoid the weekend crowds. There was a short line to order but it went pretty slow. My friends who ordered through the QR code got their orders, especially the drinks, much quicker. If you order from the line, you are given a pager. If you order on your phone using the QR code, you will be notified when you order is ready at the bar. Food is hit or miss. Ordered the BBQ Pie pizza on a friend's recommendation and it was tasty. I do like the crust too. The pepperoni pizza was thinner and delicious too. The garlic artichoke pizza was a hit too. We recommend ordering the pizzas. The ribs were very salty. We didn't even finish half of the order. I do not recommend ordering those at all. I feel like the side dishes like elote and beans were okay. I guess we expected just good old fashioned elote and baked beans but instead got something different and the flavors just weren't working for us.
Sharon B — Google review
We got the brisket and the ribs and the street corn. And none of it was very good. The street corn was soupy and didn’t taste fresh at all, and the brisket was really salty and dried out and the ribs were also very dry and not very tender. The beer and cidar was very good and the casual atmosphere was fun, but you needed to bus your own table And wipe it off yourself. If we go back again, I think I would try the pizza.
Ann T — Google review
It's a great place for family, friends and even pets to get together and enjoy the great food and weather. With plenty of inside and outside seating. The menu has a little bit of everything, from Vegetarian options to Meat Lovers Fest. Oh don't don't forget the variety of Pizzaa d Drink options. It's been a Family Fav.
Ilianna M — Google review
My husband and I came to the Julian Beer Company to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary on the recommendation of my sister, who had a good experience here. I generally give a lot of grace in my restaurant reviews, but it was tougher with this one because we didn't have a great experience, but they have many good reviews and my sister had a good experience. I have to say that some of this was that the food was really not stellar, some of it was poor timing, and some of it is a matter of personal taste. I have gone ahead and given my opinion, but you should take these things into account before deciding to eat here or not. There is no wait staff. You order and pay at the counter then go and pick it up when they page you. There is really no other interaction with any staff member. We briefly were able to ask the young lady filling the ice machine to take a picture of us. We had to wipe down our own table before we sat down because no one was doing that. There are long tables that you share with others in two buildings, lots of outside seating at smaller tables and counter type seating all along the balcony railing. We got 2 half pound orders of brisket, 2 mac & cheese sides, one street corn mix side, one potato salad side and water to drink. It came to $55 with tip. We went about 4:30 to beat the dinner crowd. I was a little leary about going that early, thinking the food may not be as fresh. Turns out I was right. The brisket was not fresh and soaked in grease that was also pooled in the bottom of the serving containers. The slices either had a lot of fat on them, were dry end pieces, and overcooked meat shreds from the bottom of the pan that were soaked in oil. It was Iike they scraped the bottom of older stuff in the lunch pan and divided it up between us. I tried dabbing some of the oil off with napkins and soaked 4 napkins. I transferred my meat to a paper plate to get it out of the grease, and the plate became soaked with it. After cutting out all the fat from the meat, I probably had about 2/3 left. I tasted it, and it was very salty and very dry. I figured I would just put a lot of barbecue sauce on it. I tasted the sauce, and it was like thin tomato sauce with lots of chili powder in it. Not to my taste at all. I ended up mixing some of the ranch dressing they had there with the barbecue sauce to cut the chili powder taste and make it tolerable. On to the mac & cheese, which looked really good, but was luke warm and had very little taste at all, very dry and bland. I could hardly taste cheese at all. There was a crust of toasted cheese on the top and very little anywhere else and not saucy at all, just dry cooked macaroni that was dried out and crusty on the inside bottom and sides of the serving container. The street corn mix with black beans was a cold dish. The corn did not look roasted. It was more like canned corn and beans in ranch dressing with chili powder and cotijo sprinkled on top. It wasn't bad, but lacked that nice roasted corn taste. The potato salad was the best of the batch with large chunks of red potatoes in a creamy dill sauce, but it would have been better if the potatoes were at least bite size. We didn't bother trying to get anyone's attention about the meat and mac & cheese because they had become busy and there really wasn't anyone around to talk to except the order takers with a line of people waiting to order. Overall, it was a very disappointing dinner celebration. The picture is of the 4 grease soaked napkins in the brisket serving containers on the grease soaked paper plate with all the fat and burnt pieces I cut off of what I ate. My husband's serving was similar.

Romano's Restaurant is a historic house on Main Street in Julian, California, offering old-school Italian cooking and a wide selection of wines. Established in 1982, this renowned establishment specializes in authentic Italian cuisine with a legacy spanning over four decades. The restaurant prides itself on homemade pasta, bread, and sauces that hark back to the old country.
Absolutely loved this place! It’s super cozy, warm, and has such a welcoming vibe — you instantly feel at home. The staff were fantastic: fast, friendly, and genuinely kind. We had the mussels and calamari — everything was fresh and full of flavor. Our friends ordered the beef and chicken dishes and couldn’t stop raving about them. One of the highlights was the owner himself walking around, checking in with every table to make sure everyone was happy — such a rare and thoughtful touch. We’re honestly blown away. Can’t wait to come back! (Sharing a photo of the menu below so you can check it out too.)

This is a can’t miss place while in Julian. Food is exceptional, and a lot to choose from, portions are generous. The vinegar—which came of course with the bread and with the antipasto salad I had—tasted like it was homemade. Great atmosphere too—very peaceful, and the staff is very friendly…can’t wait to come back!

Best caesar salad i’ve ever had!! The lovely waitress said the dressing is their own recipe. I also loved how the atmosphere felt like setting the table at home. There was a lot of homey decor like lamps and tables in there that made it feel so special. The music playing softly in the background was so lovely too!! Super sweet experience.

My fiancé and I went here after touring our wedding venue in Julian. The food was so amazing we decided to have them cater for our wedding come up. My favorite food is pesto pasta and they had the best one I have ever tried (I don't live in the area and crave it all the time). The restaurant has a nice environment that works perfectly for date night, family dinners, or just a casual meal. I gave the service 4 stars only because they can get a bit busy, but the staff is still attentive and friendly.

My husband and I love to visit Julian and last night I had the delight of eating at Romano's. I ordered their Chicken Piccota and I got to say that it's hands down the BEST Italian entree I've ever eaten in my life! The garlic butter capers were freaking INCREDIBLE... We're definitely coming back!

Miner's Diner, located at 2134 Main St in Julian, CA, is a charming retro-inspired diner that offers classic American fare in a cozy and laid-back atmosphere. The restaurant is adorned with nostalgic artifacts and features red and white checkered chairs and tablecloths for an old-fashioned feel. Visitors can enjoy delicious home-cooked meals such as burgers, fries, malts, ice cream, and sodas while taking in the vintage decor.
I love the ambience here! Very rustic. Ordered the tri tip dip and it is possibly the best dip sandwich I ever had! I contemplated getting a second one but remembered I still needed to get some pie. Pace yourself. Also, don’t forget to check out the vintage candy store. Pretty awesome down there.

We only got an ice cream to counteract the hot day in Julian. The inside is rustic. Our single scoop ended up being about 4 after the waffle cone was filled up. There is a train that circled the restaurant and there is a candy mine below the restaurant with old time candies like gum cigarettes. The staff was very friendly with big smiles.

Always go here, this time was blah. We were stoked cuz no wait. There were booths available but we were sat in a crappy 2 top. I asked if we could move to a booth, server said she would ck...what's the biggie lol 2 min later she said it was OK. Food took a long time even though it was dead compared to how it usually is. Western burger was not good. BBQ sause thin, onion rings cold...same with my partners mushroom burger. Chili was outta can. It's like a C+ only cuz the atmosphere is amazing. Server was doing bare minimum...didn't match the kitchy, home town vibe of the place. More of an east coast vibe. Not bad just lost something in the past few years. Next time ill try one of the deli's I saw. Oh ya...paper straws. Fin. Update, with our stomachs were not happy at night.
Kenny H — Google review
Pamela our server is THE best. Very nice, attentive and friendly. We ordered onion rings for the table. Very good. Crisp and flavorful. I ordered Miners burger. It had all the fixins- . Sadly it c was tasteless. The patty had zero flavor. They ought to add a little salt, seasoning salt as a patty needs help.

We were in town today a few minutes before 11 AM and wanted breakfast. They were only serving lunch. We were hungry and decided to stay. Gal was nice and opened front door for me as she saw I had difficulty walking up the steps and husband was parking the car. Spacious comfy booth. Cute place but upon walking in is a kind of negative sign about not serving people if they are not nice to staff. Not very welcoming and they could have made a funny sign not one that feels you are being reprimanded. I actually did not see till I sat down and it might of deterred me as we are always nice and tip well. Limited menu choices. I had a burger and husband had a patty melt. Both overcooked when we requested as rare as possible. Onion rings kind of doughy and both are meals were left halfway unfinished. Food just did not taste good or fresh. They charged us $6.00 each for a Coke and Diet Coke. Sorry $12 is out of line for a diner. They put on a service charge before I even paid. Our bill for small burger with fries and coke and patty melt with onion rings was almost $60. They did give us a military discount when I inquired.I told her I would pay cash and they removed. They also had a note about not taking large groups. We will definitely not be back nor recommend.

My first time here. Visiting friends in California and happened by this wonderful quaint little town called Julian. This restaurant is on the main street in town and looked like a little hole in the wall type of place that I love. Although the atmosphere was definitely up to par, the food left much to be desired. The food wasn't bad but they could have done alot better with the preparation. I got the turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich with a side of onion rings. The sourdough bread bread was dry and not toasted, they put very little turkey on the sandwich and just a few drops of mayonnaise. Also, the onion rings weren't bad, there was way too much breading for my liking. On top of that, the service was fairly slow even though the place wasn't that crowded.

When exploring Southern California, a visit to Julian Tea & Cottage Arts is an absolute must. Nestled in the picturesque gold mining town of Julian, this charming establishment resides in a beautifully restored turn-of-the-century home dating back to 1898. Surrounded by stunning pine and oak forests, it’s just an hour's scenic drive from San Diego.
A fantastic and cozy experience. I took my 5 yo neice to celebrate her birthday. Since it's right after St. Patrick's day, we did the St. Paddy's tea service. Everything was delicious. The tea selection was great. But above all, the servers and staff were fantastic. My baby girl came in her princess attire, and our server called her "princess" the whole time. 🥰 Highly recommended experience. Will be doing it again. Only thing to be aware of: there is no dedicated parking. So if it's a busy day in Julian, plan to spend some time finding a spot. Totally worth it!

We had wanted to visit this place for a long time. We were especially interested in trying the tea, since this place specializes in it. I was pleasantly surprised that it’s a very large space where you can buy everything starting with tea. There are so many kinds of tea — different, diverse, for every taste. There is also a big selection of beautiful tea ware: cups, teapots, and various accessories. You can also find home and kitchen accessories. The service was very pleasant. The tea was delicious. The scones were tasty and fresh. A cozy place to enjoy tea. I am very satisfied and highly recommend everyone to visit this wonderful place🩷

My boyfriend surprised me with reservations on our trip to Julian and it was the highlight of the day! The staff were kind enough to accommodate my boyfriend's preferences ahead of time, as he cannot eat most cheeses, and the service was amazing! The mini eggnog cheesecakes were my favorite and they have a huge selection of teas and related goods you can buy as well! Really amazing and friendly service, I can't recommend them enough!

I’m sad I didn’t get a chance to try their tea/food since I had a dog, but they have a huge array of teas and tea/kitchen equipment. There’s an upstairs too!

The most fantastic tea selection I’ve ever seen in one place. Great customer service and a lot of fantastic flavors. Also a great gift selection!! Super fun place for a tea lover.

Came during their 27 year anniversary and got their prix fixe Classic Afternoon Tea for $29.95 for adults and $9.95 for children. This is the quaintest tea shop, located inside a historic home that dates back to the Gold Rush. The shop also extends to the second floor. They play the calmest piano accompaniments throughout the store, have the cutest tea accessories, a plethora of antique to new teacups and teapots. The women who work here are extremely delightful and friendly. I have a tradition of coming here every year, by myself and a book, to just sit and take in this quaint mountain town with some delicious tea and foods.

Very small dining area but quaint. Decent selection of tea. Menu was tasty but also limited. We got the Afternoon Tea and at $32.95 per person was a bit overpriced for what you receive. Also, a suggestion to the owner, please place a sign in the dining room asking patrons to refrain from talking on their cell phones as this really takes away from the entire experience and will ensure that I won't be making the hour drive from San Diego again.

I finally had tea here during my last stay in Julian! It was well worth it. I was lucky enough to get a walk in afternoon tea and what an pleasant experience it was. I waited about five minutes for them to setup before taking my seat. Presented with a menu and the months tea selections, I ordered the four course afternoon tea selection with bottomless tea. I had salted caramel pureh tea and something with apricot. The finger sandwiches are AMAZING! As are the scones and dressings. They're not open on Tuesday or Wednesday, but if you can catch them when they are open, they have a wide range of tea and tea related items to peruse as well.

When visiting Julian, California, one of the must-visit spots is the Julian Pie Company. This quaint bakeshop attracts crowds with its delicious pies, cookies, and apple cider donuts. The highlight here is their wide variety of pies, especially the apple pie which has gained quite a reputation. If you find the main shop busy, there's a satellite shop just outside of town in Wynola.
I went to the location to pick up a Dutch apple pie. I was so happy with how it tasted. The quality of the apples, the crust, and the topping is amazing. I love all the flavors that they have for options. I can’t wait to go back.

During my visit to Julian, I couldn’t miss the chance to stop by Julian Pie Company — and I’m so glad I did. Their apple pie is an absolute classic: flaky crust, rich apple filling, just the right amount of sweetness, and that homemade taste you can’t forget. I loved it so much that I wished I had bought an extra to take home. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is friendly, and the pie itself is unforgettable. If you’re in Julian, this is a must-visit spot. It’s not just pie, it’s part of the Julian experience.

Still the 1st stop when we come into the town of Julian! There is usually a line but the employees move fast and are very friendly. We love the boysenberry apple crumble with no topping. You can have ice cream alamode but you don’t need it. The Carmel apple crumble is super sweet and needs coffee ☕️ to wash it down. Don’t forget the apple cider maple donuts to take home!

Love stopping here every time I visit Julian. This is the place that makes the BEST Pies! I always get a big slice of Pie with a Big scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream...SO GOOD!!

Julian pies are the best… If we lived closer we’d come more often! Happy they have separate (shorter) lines if you buy whole pies! Unfortunately, they had run out of their pumpkin apple pie just before we got there - so that was disappointing as it took years for us to finally visit there again! We ended up getting peach-apple and mixed berry - top it off with cashew yogurt and coconut creme and we’re on cloud nine! 😋

Nice spot with lots of outdoor seating. There’s the main restaurant and then a pies, merchandise, and souvenirs shop where the bathrooms are located. - mountain berry apple pie w/ ice cream 5/5 - apple cider donut with maple 5/5 - chocolate chip cookie 3/5 - coffee and cappuccino 3/5

Mom's Pie House in Julian has been a local favorite since 1984, offering a variety of delicious pies, cookies, and other baked goods made from scratch daily with the freshest ingredients. The bakery has grown to two locations, serving up treats like their famous Gluten-Free Chocolate Pecan pie. To avoid lines at the Main Street location, customers can call ahead for whole pie orders or visit their Wynola location.
Very busy over the weekend with lines out the door. Instead, we stopped here early before leaving Julian to pick up a pie to take home (no lines). Many pies to choose from, but I've always defaulted to the standard apple pie with the buttery crust and lots of apples. Can also get honey and other tasty treats.

Very good pie, sweet team, enough seating. We stayed in Julian for the weekend and the pie scene is pretty big. Multiple pie businesses for such a small community but its great to have so many farm-to-table options. I bought a bumbleberry pie to go and had a slice of apple with ice cream. The family loved it and they served it warm which was a nice touch. They also have a few lunch options which is great! Check out the video.

Julian is an amazing little town just around the corner from where I live and after a fun filled day we decided to stop by and get a few slices of pie. The pie was delicious but the only reason this is getting a five star is because I believe the older of the four workers there I believe her name was Bonita was amazing and working harder then the three younger ladies who where just playing around laughing and not paying attention to customers. We attempted to ask a question about a pie that looked like a chocolate filled one but after attempting 4 times to ask the question and was being ignored because the young ladies where playing around to much. By time we walked around to the cashier we just said we wanted apples pie slices and went and sat down. We did stop the older worker Bonita and let her know she is such a hard worker while the others were playing around. The 30 mins we where there Bonita was boxing pies up then running around wiping counters and tables picking up trash and making sure everything was presentable for customers meanwhile the young ladies helped a few people and then went back to playing and not helping clean or anything.

I tried their apple berry crumb pie and it was just delicious. Be aware of the long queue! But the pie is worth waiting in queue. They’ve variety of pies to choose from and even has oldest oven in the dining area. Recommend to all the pie lovers out there.

Mom’s Julian is exactly what you’d expect in this quaint old town: a bakery featuring apple pie. The tradition of this apple growing town is the first thing anyone asks if I say “I went to Julian.” “Did you have some pie…?” Yes, and Mom’s Pies is where to go. Delicious! Respects hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail. Treats everyone with courtesy. You gotta’ try a slice with crumbles! Go here.

It’s just a perfect place for a quick delicious bite of apple pie, especially on a cold day, as soon as you walk in, you feel the warmth and smell the delicious fresh baking of pies, there are several different choices, all absolutely delicious. If you’re just in for a slice and one to avoid sitting for a long time or waiting at a restaurant, this is a perfect spot, they also have regular coffee, or you can buy the whole pie.
Rocio B — Google review
Update 7/14/25 I tried their bumble berry pie with the traditional crust. Wow it was amazing so much thin buttery crust, and not overwhelmingly sweet with just a touch of tartness. Really nice cute place pies looked very tempting. I wasn’t able to try any. There is usually a long line outside the door You can see them baking the pies from the window

If you can stomach a sometimes 45 minute to hour wait on the weekends when its busy this will be some of the best pie you have ever had. I highly recommend trying the Apple carmel Crumble pie its to die for. The atmosphere in here is also wonderful!

Nestled in a 1920s bungalow behind lush green trees, Julian Grille is a family-run restaurant offering French- and Italian-accented American classics. Located on Main Street in the quaint town of Julian, California, this hidden gem boasts a picturesque setting and a full bar. The menu features delectable dishes like fettucini alfredo tetrazzini with sauteed spinach in olive oil.
So good- except the burger, pass on that. French dip was delicious! And so was the brie, the ribs are fantastic and so was the pulled pork sandwich. They have a really yummy doggy lunch here that comes with the biscuit that our dog loved. They also have a bathroom. I highly recommend stopping here for lunch before you hit Julian. Ask for Daniel he’s the best server here.

Came here for a quick lunch 3/23/24 since we were in the area. They had a pretty good menu and their broccoli cheddar soup was delicious but the crackers were a little stale. The soup was amazing though. Got the tuna sandwich and added sliced avocado, grilled chicken sandwich, pulled pork sandwich and linguini with pork sausage. I was pretty bummed out that they had ran out of cinnamon sticks for my hot toddy drink but it was still okay. The ladies did an amazing job answering all of our questions about the menu and being very attentive. The restaurant is very cute and vintage vibes with a fireplace. Also dog friendly in their patio area

Restaurant in a house. Quality from the moment we walked in the door. Trout was delicious, not over or under cooked. Also were the roast beef sandwich and tuna salad sandwiches. Shared apple pie ala mode which was a huge serving. Coffee good too. Nice quiet place to converse with friends and family.

The Julian Grille is located on the Main Street in the town of Julian CA. The town itself is a quaint spot with lots of history. We were excited to find a place for lunch that welcomes dogs. They actually have a dog menu that includes hamburger patty, chicken patty and a couple other choices. We ordered a French dip sandwich and ravioli. Both were great and the service was very good. The outdoor eating area was nice and we had a great view from our table. The inside dining rooms looked fun as well.

I tried Julian Grille's creamy mushroom soup, and it blew my mind – so good 😍 On the flip side, the tuna sandwich and burger were just okay. They didn't quite match the soup's wow factor. Stick to the soup if you want the real star of the show! 🌟

Went here for lunch with my wife while in Julian. Looks like they built the restaurant in a what used to be a residential house. Nice and clean inside. Happened to be raining the day we went so eating outside wasn't an option. Good was good but not great. A little bland for my taste. The only thing that was a bit strange were their prices on the menu were substantially more then they advertise online. Probably would choose somewhere else next time.

This place was amazing. It was a nice little quiet place to stop for lunch after a long hike. Their food here is a little higher priced than other places however it is Julian and they have to ship a lot of their food up there. The staff was friendly, food was tasty, and you can even bring your dog and sit on the patio. We were there on a perfect day that was very nice to sit outside.

Bakery
Apple Alley Bakery, located on Main Street in Julian, CA, is a charming bakery and cafe known for its delicious apple pies and pastries. The bakery offers a variety of pie flavors including sugar/gluten-free and vegan options, as well as a simple lunch menu. With outdoor seating available, it's the perfect spot to enjoy their delectable treats in the pleasant Julian weather. Customers appreciate the gluten-friendly options and commend the owner's knowledge and understanding of gluten concerns.
Apple Alley Bakery is by far our favorite place for apple pie — and we’ve been coming here for the past 4 years. Every visit is consistently amazing, and the quality never disappoints. We visit about 5 times a year, and during the holiday season, we usually take home six pies — yes, they’re that good! Over the years, we’ve tried several varieties: • The traditional apple pie • The sugar-free apple pie – incredibly delicious and perfectly spiced • The gluten-free apple crumble pie • The gluten-free boysenberry apple pie • And the pumpkin pie (special order) is honestly the best I’ve ever had! Their coffee is also fantastic — the perfect complement to a warm slice of pie on a chilly Julian day. ☕️ And the service is just as memorable. On our most recent visit, we brought our pup, and the staff went above and beyond — offering her water and treats, and making her feel just as welcome as we were. 🐶💕 If you're in Julian, do yourself a favor and stop by Apple Alley Bakery. You won’t regret it!

Food was good, pies were good but they took forever to be served. When my husband ask "what salad you have" to the lady taking our order she answered in a very rude manner "just salad". Oh, I forgot about the cookies, they were really good too. Wait, I almost forget about the cinnamon ice cream, I loveeed it. Thanks for reading!

They have outdoor seating in the back which is nice and our pie came out quickly. It was good, although I still prefer Julian pie company since I like my pies sweeter. Still good though! I’m happy I tried it.

Local Treasurer just off the Main Street in Julian We have visited Julian for years and have always enjoyed the more known Pie Shops. This year we decided to slow down and spend a weekend exploring this wonderful town. I was delighted to find this local treasurer and enjoy their creation of the popular Apple Pies that Julian is known for. I had their Apple Crumb Pie. It was absolutely delicious. The pie crust was flaky and the Crumb topping was so delicious, totally complementing the star attraction, the Apple filling which was so yummy. I definitely recommend checking this place out. Great ambience featuring a delightful outdoor patio with Apple trees . Great people and great service!

As we were walking down the street I saw a sign in their window that they have gluten free pie options so I had to check it out. I decided on the boysenberry apple crumble pie warmed with vanilla ice cream. Delicious!!! Thank you so much for providing gluten free options for those of us that can’t eat gluten.

The sweetest folks with even sweeter pies. Delicious, friendly, and patriotic!!! Try the lunch special with the amazing tomato soup and a slice of Mango Apple Pie. They were even kind enough to split it. Thank you for the wonderful experience. This is a must stop family owned small business to support.

Apple Alley Bakery, located on Julian's main street, is a small yet charming shop that offers more than just baked goods—it’s an inviting spot for lunch or dessert that feels like a hidden gem. Despite the 40-minute wait during a busy Sunday afternoon in the fall season (October/November), the experience was worth it. The friendly and attentive staff made the wait pleasant, even suggesting adding milk to my coffee and highly recommending their standout pecan caramel apple pie, balancing sweetness and texture perfectly, which did not disappoint. We also tried the sugar-free apple pie, which was delightful, especially when paired with vanilla ice cream. The cozy, tree-shaded dining area adds to the experience, providing an idyllic setting for spending a relaxing afternoon enjoying delicious tea and sweet treats. Parking is available along the street but might be tight during peak hours. This bakery is a must-visit for visitors in Julian looking for comfort food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Lovely place with amazing service. We have tried different types and owners allow tasting of pies. We loved the apple pie crumble. The crust is crumbly and buttery and the apple filling is of ideal balance of sweet and cinnamon flavour with lovely cooked apples. I will definitely be visiting here on my next trip to San Diego.

The restaurant boasts a cozy indoor space as well as an inviting outdoor deck where guests can enjoy their meals. Visitors praise the unique and flavorful dishes, highlighting the irresistible flavors found in each bite. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere adds to the overall dining experience, making guests feel right at home.
The food was delicious and so was my margarita. Our server was very polite and attentive, especially considering the restaurant inside was very busy. She made sure to get to us as soon as she could and I don’t think the wait was terrible. Remember to be kind and patient towards staff, especially at locations with a smaller capacity. My family really enjoy eating our meal outside where our toddler could roam a little bit. There were even toys outside. Overall, we enjoyed our entire experience and look forward to coming back when visiting Julian again.

Unplanned road trip to Julian and we found this gem. I eat wholefood/vegan so it's usually difficult to find places to eat. Quecho did not disappoint! Hubby had the fajitas with shrimp, chicken, and steak. I had the Burrito Bowl minus the cheese and sour cream. We both had the Agua Frescas of the day, which was watermelon lime. All of it was delicious. Service was top notch! Definitely recommend!

This little Mexican restaurant is an absolute gem! The food is bursting with authentic flavors and you can really taste the difference — everything is made from scratch with so much care. From the freshly prepared salsas to the perfectly seasoned dishes, every bite feels like home-cooked comfort. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff treat you like family. It’s not just a place to grab a quick meal — it’s the kind of spot you want to come back to again and again. If you’re looking for real Mexican food made with love (not the watered-down version you find in so many places), this is where you need to go. Highly recommend!

Great mexican restaurant located in Julian. Can be seated outside or inside. Started with a small guacamole and shared a molcajete. Molcajete was huge and filled with lots of steak, chicken, chorizo, and nopales. This also came with tortillas, rice, and beans. Ended up taking leftovers home for another meal. Staff was friendly and checked on us often. Menu had a lot of other great entrees and would stop here again the next time we visited Julian.

Today was veterans day, meaning the staff should be super locked in today. Once we arrived, the lady seated us at a random picnic table in a pile of dirt in the back of the restaurant. We ordered our food, then waited 2 HOURS (not exaggerating, we got there at 1 and received our food at 3) for our food. Food was decent but not worth a 2 hour wait. Do not recommend.
Jon L — Google review
We were looking forward to dining at Quecho as they received awesome Google reviews and thankfully, by the time we arrived there wasn’t a wait. The ambiance was relaxed and the AC worked well which we appreciated on such a hot day. Our waitress was also incredibly nice and welcoming. We ordered the chef’s taco plate which consisted of two carnitas, pollo and carne asada tacos. Sadly, the carnitas and pollo were dry and bland. The carne asada had a little flavor, but there were unchewable pieces. The spicy salsa was delicious though. It helped add the clearly lacking flavor. We also ordered Mr. Manitas’ famous nachos and the best part of this dish were the chips. They were crunchy and salty. The carne asada on this plate had less flavor, but they were at least tender and tasted fresher. The cheese was too strong and the salsa had no depth. Overall, another disappointing dish. My daughter ordered their bean and cheese burrito and sadly, this too, was insipid. Luckily, their rice was decent enough that my daughter ate that instead. For dessert, we tried to order a Julian apple pie, but they were sold out. What?! We are in Julian, known for apple pies and there is literally, an apple pie shop down the street. It seems like it should be the one dessert, well stocked. I also ordered their classic margarita and it was just alright. It was a little sweeter than I preferred. We spent, with tip $92.72. Their prices were quite reasonable, but unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend the food.
Sarah C — Google review
Just off the main road, so you won’t see it if you don’t turn up into the neighborhood. Friendly staff. Lots of outdoor dining perfect for a nice day. When they say the molcajete is enough to feed 2 people, they aren’t kidding. The dish itself could use a little work as there wasn’t much depth of flavor. If it wasn’t for the spicy salsa we got on the side, then it would’ve been too bland for my preference. Washing it down with a locally brewed jalapeño beer was fantastic.

Rongbranch Restaurant in Julian is a popular choice for those looking for a rustic dining experience. With a country-western ambiance, they serve up tasty dishes like chicken pot pie, BBQ ribs, and bison burgers. Recently adding breakfast to their menu, this long-time favorite offers a variety of satisfying entrees. The pot pie is particularly delicious with its flavorful brown gravy filling and flaky crust.
Originally, I wanted pizza, but I'm glad I stumbled upon this place. The service here is very friendly and down-to-earth, which is really helpful since I don't get a chance to relax and eat much. The staff is very attentive, and the food was delicious; it felt homemade, especially my skillet. My wife had the chicken pot pie, and since the pastry is made there, everything tasted fresh. I wanted to show my appreciation for the restaurant by letting everyone know with my simple review.

We arrive around 1:30PM on a Saturday and waited for ~15min to be seated. We ordered 2 bison burgers, country side steak and brisket. It took more than 45 minutes to get the food. We were starving!!! Burgers were good, fries undercooked. The brisket was chewy. The fried steak was OK. The server was nice, the atmosphere too, but not worth the wait and price.

1 hr wait. Burn fries. Feathers on the fried chicken. And a unknown black ring object. Hairtie?? No seasoning o. Anything

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a good experience here. The staff was nice, but the food was very bad :/ they told us the wait was 45min-1hr which was fine with us we could just walk around in the mean time so we decided to buy some fudge since we were very hungry and it was so bad 🤧 we don’t recommend it unless you want diabetes. Then my husband ordered the BBQ pork and could not eat it, no seasoning whatsoever. I ate the garden burger which was better and shared it with him since he was starving but we both had upset tummies for the rest of the day. The waitress was very nice, she offered to give us something else from the menu but we were done with the food there, plus we didn’t have to pay for his food. Honestly, don’t come here, just plan accordingly so you can go to a better place

A long time favorite in Julian! They offer a good selection of entrees and just recently started offering breakfast. The pot pie was delicious! While it isn't the prettiest presentation, it has so much flavor! The crust was flaky and they use a brown gravy inside. There were a variety of vegetables and chunks of chicken. The salad was cold, crisp and fresh when served. The ranch dressing was tasted like it may be homemade. All entrees ordered were hearty portion sizes and very filling. The cold cider was my favorite in all of Julian that we tried. The server was friendly and kept our drinks filled.
Shondra J — Google review
Took 20 minutes to even order They’re out of chilli, iced tea and apple cider 40 minutes later still no food and we find out that there is no chicken for the sandwich we ordered. We decide to scrap it and not even attempt to order something else because we didn’t want to wait even more!! 1 hour and 15 after we were sat the ribs finally come out… another 12 minutes and my cornbread finally comes out. Absolutely horrible service. There was one waitress that was hustling and on top of it but not ours.

We waited 55 minutes for our food. If you’re not in a rush and willing to wait best place to go. The fried chicken I got was overcooked and dark. Extremely disappointing to be honest since I drive 2 hours to get there.

In Julian for the first time, Pizza was great was not dry, just enough sauce inside. Bbq chicken is what we got.suggestion add butter to the edges with garlic salt. Only complaint was the misleading mexican item of rolled tacos.. we asked if they serve chicken, the gentleman man that was at cashier said no, so we got beef, him not knowing my sister in law had ordered chicken previous to us. They ended up being store bought tequilas with hard Sour cream and guac.. a big no. And for the price that should be cut off menu.. hopefully owner reads this..

The Julian Cider Mill has the best apple cider in Julian. They also have a great gift shop with lots of other food items, plus free samples.
Rod G — Google review
YOU NEED TO STOP HERE! You will miss out if you don’t. This is where you get the authentic Julian California experience. You won’t find anything like this anywhere else. This Cider Mill store is something where 90% of the products are made from local venues, farms, orchards,… etc . The various amounts of jams, sauces, syrups, candy, chocolate of every kind of flavor you can possibly imagine is right here. Different flavors of fresh cider are also in the fridges they have. This is NOT your generic store on products that are mass produced for the entire country. Why anybody would give this place a bad rating, is beyond me..

Great place for various locally made candy and other sundries. Staff is extremely helpful. Candy apple is delicious.
Monica M — Google review
The Julian Cider Mill is completely insane! They have everything you could want — numerous types of honey, homemade jams and jellies, candies, ciders, teas, salsas, and more! It’s the perfect place to stick up on great items or just pop in quickly for a cup of hot cider, a caramel apple, or a piece of fudge. Definitely a must-visit spot in downtown Julian whenever you’re around the area. Worth stopping at even if you’re in Santa Ysabel or Cuyamaca.

I have been here several times and I'm always amazed at the selection. There is everything you can think of, plus sugar and gluten free options. Of course my favorite is and will always be the honeycomb. They have it in white and milk and dark. I admit, I am not a fan of dark though. There are few sweets I can more say are higher on my favorites list. Although, the huge selection of candy canes is staggering.

Buffalo Bill's Cafe of Julian is a charming spot located slightly off the beaten path, making it a relaxing escape from the bustling crowds. The cafe offers a dog-friendly environment with limited patio seating, so be prepared for potential wait times. Despite this, visitors rave about the fantastic customer service and quick food delivery. The menu features delicious buffalo burgers and garlic parmesan fries that are worth the wait. Additionally, guests can enjoy outdoor seating while dining with their furry companions.
Great bison burger, Fresh potato salad served on a bed of spinach leaves. Excellent fries. Friendly staff. Seating inside or out.

This place was fantastic. I'm a little late on reviewing, but visited them back in the fall. It was drizzly and freezing cold, my good friend myself and my two young girls were starving. So we come to visit here and the customer service was fantastic, food was great and delivered quickly. The burgers are fantastic. Will definitely visit again.
Michelle D — Google review
The nugget burger is amazing, and the best onion rings we've had in a long time! Bit of a wait but that's just fine, food is definitely worth it :) staff is super fun and I liked listening to the banter with themselves and customers. Plus all the guys were super cute. Would definitely come back 10/10<3
Joel C — Google review
They have potential and you can eat food here, but..... They are not properly staffed for the number of tables they have. We were told the wait would be 20 to 30 minutes. It was 30 minutes. We were then seated and told the kitchen was really backed up, as if I couldn't see that for myself, and that we'd have to wait about 45 minutes to get our food. They were right again. We got our food, one correct order and the other incorrect (charred burger instead of a medium rare patty melt), in 45 minutes after we ordered. I don't blame them though. I think this town is cursed. I've been to Julian so many times as if something may change, but each time I go, the waits are extremely long and the food is mediocre. Such mismanaged potential.
Jim W — Google review
I had the smaller buffalo burger with the garlic parmesan fries, it was delicious. We were visiting Julien during one of the busiest weekends in October so the wait was long, but relaxing as it is up a slight hill so it is a little out of the way. They are dog friendly - but there are only 2 patio tables - so if you're looking to sit down to lunch with your pooch and they're taken - be prepared to wait until after those two tables are finished.
Chrystal L — Google review
One of our favorite spots in Julian. They are very courteous and accommodating, even though they were super busy this weekend because of the beautiful snow. My burger was delicious too!

Best buffalo burger EVER! It's off the main street but I'd recommend this cute cafe to anyone. And our waitress Vivienne was delightful. We'll definitely be back!

Jack's Grocery in Julian, California is a pleasant establishment with an impressive selection of products for its size. Despite being the only grocery store in town, they manage to keep their prices reasonable. Additionally, there appears to be a deli section at the back of the store. Other than that, it meets all the expectations one would have for a typical grocery store.
Jack's Grocery has a wonderful selection of nearly any item you may need. Beautiful clean, fresh, crisp produce. Excellent selection of fresh meat. Wonderful deli with a line waiting for service. Do yourself a favor and give them a try! We actually found a great but on Hawaiian 10% Kona Coffee for a better price than we can buy in Hawaii! If you find my review helpful please give me a thumbs-up 👍 Thank you!

So good! The service and the sandwich were top notch! I was camping at Heise and nothing in the cooler looked good so I braved the crowds and drove into Julian on a Sunday. I had never been to Jack’s but saw the sign while driving around the back. There was plenty of parking behind the store and also a back entrance to avoid the Main Street foot traffic. I ordered off the digital screen menu, found a fizzy beverage and went to the counter to pay for my provisions. The man behind the counter whom I assume was Jack, I could be wrong, was fun and funny and even let me pet his dog, Daisy. After I paid, my sandwich was done being prepared so I picked it up and headed for the car. I had to stop and rest a couple of times on the way to the car, the sandwich was so big. What a treat! The bread, meat and veggies were so fresh! The sandwich was less than $15, easily feeds 2 people, and comes with chips. Who doesn’t love chips??? The sandwich also comes with so many fresh veggies, you can even take your vegetarian friend there for a sooper yummie veggie sandwich. Thank you, Jack! I’m a fan!
Johna F — Google review
Nice place with a surprising availability of products, considering how small it is. That said, this is the only grocery store in the town. Prices were still fair. It also looks like they have a deli in the back part as well. Aside from that, it's what you would expect from a grocery store. There's a convenience store across the street that sells similar packaged goods, but as far as grocery, they are the only game in town.
Rafael E — Google review
Always excellent meats and some things that you can't get anywhere else on the mountain. Been told Sam is new owner. Will miss Ray but it's the same family and nothing much has changed. Enjoy the Deli.

Is this place for real? I understand this is a small town but this is NOT even close to being a grocery store. Unfortunately this is the only grocery store in town. There's a tiny variety of liquor, a small restaurant and a few snacks. I'm not sure if I would even buy anything out of the store, it looks disgusting and rundown. And the cashier was no help at all.

As of the first of the month.. It's changed ownership and name..it's ran by a family. They are super nice. The new menu is welcome change(although I really loved the pulled pork omelette from the old owners). They are dog and kid friendly! They even toys for the kids to play with! Once they get the full menu and baked goods up and running I would probably change my review to 5 star.

The food was amazing and the service complimented it nicely. Hubby had the banana burbon french toast with the burbon standing out suttely amongst the rest of the flavors. I had the Kickstarter that included delicious crisp ham, avacado, fluffy egg, a housemade sauce in-between garlic bread. Best part....everything is housemade even the ketchup!

On the return trip from Borrego Springs to SD. The reviews I noted drew me/us in. Folks, finding better than average food, service, and ambiance can certainly be challenging at times. Finding this combo in Borrego Springs was even more challenging I'm not enthusiastic to report. Julian does offer this [somewhat hidden gem.]. Easy to find with the standard technology. Unassuming small and weathered building as the pics, mine and others reveal. Inside is characteristic of the outside in some respects but does provide all the basics and then some. So if the weather is chilly and the business is busy, be prepared to eat outside. We sat inside and it was comfortable enough with very friendly table service; delivery of food and drinks. You order and pay upfront. Very good selection of breakfast items to include their pastries and other baked items to augment. The pies and cookies looked very good, however, was able to resist the extra calories/sugar. Perhaps when the cherry pies are in season? Our order included one order of the burbon french toast and one of their crepes, and two Kickstarters. Great presentation, fresh bread, and fresh/clean food all around. Portion size was more than fair. Coffee/Expresso drinks were solid as well and hot. As noted this is a small space and provides a nice small hometown bakery feel inside. The rating then falls in the range of 4.3-4.6 🌟's. Enjoy, please!

The servers are WONDERFUL!!! However, the menu is a lie. Crepes end at noon, bbq (including brisket sandwich) not available until 2. It's pointless coming in at lunch time between 12-2, because the menu is too limited. Side salad is spinach, so be aware when ordering - unless you like raw untamed spinach, get the chips.

We had a small wedding of about 30 people and chose to allocate our money on other concepts. None of our guests could tell because the cake we received was amazing. We had supplied a sample photograph from Pinterest. They were able to recreate the image almost exactly! It was quite amazing and for the price one of the best values of our entire wedding. Everyone was pleasantly surprised by the texture and flavors and was the perfect accent for our small wedding.

Nice little hidden pastry place. Still... impossible in Julian to escape the crowds on a Sunday, so it was full. We had a nice traditional applepie, but there is tons of choices. There was still a pile of snow in front of the door, probably the last bit in Julian.

Cute little breakfast cafe. Friendly service. Hot, fresh food. We got the Cream Cheese Dill-lite and Never Been Feta tartines (open faced sandwiches on foccacia). Both were hot, well-seasoned and served with a side of potatoes.

The tartine (pictured) was the best breakfast I’ve had since I can remember. It’s so good. My son had the grilled cheese, which uses the same bread as the tartine (their homemade focaccia) and he said “this is the best bread I’ve had in my life!” So the food is, without question, 5 stars. A couple of things about the service / atmosphere: 1. The service was very slow. I think this is due to two things, both of which are worth it IMO. First, they’re making everything fresh. Second, things move a little slower in Julian than in, say, San Diego. I like that. 2. They have a “service dog only” policy but it wasn’t enforced. A family brought in a dog and it whined loudly for a while. 3. This will sound weird / trivial, but I noticed it multiple times: the doors to the place, when allowed to close on their own, smash closed and make a very loud noise. Loud enough that I was jolted by it the first three or four times. It was the opposite of the calm vibe inside. Would be a relatively simple fix. 3. Lastly, they have a little kids area with toys and books and games. Loved that - very helpful while waiting for the amazing food.

A visit to this coffee shop left a pleasant impression. The atmosphere is quite cozy - dim lights and calm music create a sense of peace and comfort. The staff is friendly and attentive, and helped me make a quick choice. I ordered a matcha latte, and it was a good choice - the drink had a delicate taste. Overall, the place makes me want to come back. I recommend it to everyone who appreciates quality and pleasant service! The only downside is that we couldn't taste the food because the kitchen was already closed

It's a cute vegetarian cafe next to the Julian Sheriff's Department. It's about a block away from Main Street. Spacious restaurant with indoor seating and some outdoor seating without heat lamps. Restrooms around the left side of the building. We really enjoyed the savory crepes! The focaccia sandwich with the impossible sausage was plain and nothing special. The Green Smoothie was really good. Not too sweet.

I brought my wife and kids to Julian one weekend at the end of January and found this plant base restaurant. We didn’t realize that they were about to close and they were so kind to still allow us to order and dine in. This was the best plant base restaurant we’ve been to in a long time. Everything was great, the service was amazing, the vibe and environment was so calming and warm, the food was great and the taste was amazing. Also the juices taste so good and healthy. We give this place 💯. We will definitely come back and encourage other to stop by and enjoy themselves like we did.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a plant based restaurant in the community! It did not disappoint! A local recommended the breakfast burrito and it was hearty and delicious. The staff was very friendly and I will be returning everytime I am visiting Julian.

My daughter and I stopped in here finally when we were over in Julian and we have found our new favorite Julian spot! It’s an all plant based cafe and it’s truly delicious. I can’t wait to go back. The service was amazing, the person who took our order, Fay, was so fun and sweet, and she did an amazing job! The first impression was excellent and I love that. The place is clean, comfortable, welcoming and beautifully decorated. Good music, too, right up my girl and I’s alley! She got the caramel apple pie iced chai and a cinnamon roll. I got the regular iced chai and a blueberry lemon scone. We are big chia drinkers and I want to say, theirs is amazing! Not overly sweet and perfectly prepared. The cinnamon roll is the best I’ve had in years, truly mouth watering! I had a lot of feelings about the taste I got! The scone was so tender and wonderful. I don’t prefer my scones warmed and this one blew my mind with how tender and delicious it was. Very good! I am also thrilled to learn they kept the Pay with a Post It board the previous owners installed. Reading the notes and knowing people are providing for others in this special way makes me feel so good whenever we go in. 100% love to support businesses with fun and sweet things like this! 100% recommend you give this place a try if you’re in the area! You won’t disappointed! We are back for round 2 a few weeks later, and I had to come back to this review and update. Last time we came for a snack, this time we came for lunch. I just want to say that I’ve been a fan of vegan food for many many years even though I am not a vegan. I just love good food! So does my daughter, she has been raised in the garden and on flavorful whole foods . Today she had the asada fries and I had the jack fruit tacos. The flavor and deliciousness of these dishes is remarkable. So many toppings on the fries and tacos, and so many flavors you might worry it would be too much, but it is delightful! It feels good to have such a healthy and creative option for our Friday Julian trips, Kali’s is solidified as our Julian favorite! She drank a pumpkin spice chai, which was wonderfully crafted and balanced. She doesn’t usually do pumpkin spice but she was so happy she chose this drink today! I had a caramel latte, also wonderfully made. Devika also had a wellness shot, and reports that it was super good! If I could award more than 5 stars to this establishment I sure would! All this great food, amazing drinks and then to meet the super nice owner Alex, who has good energy and that same wonderful customer service we talked about before. Bravo, Kali’s! See you next week!

We drove 2 hours to experience Kali's Garden. I reviewed their menu months ago and finely said, "we are going!". I had the eggplant lasagna, my husband had the mushroom penne. One of my children ordered fries and because my other child really wanted a grilled cheese sandwich, they made it for him though it was not on the menu. The food was amazing. The lasagna was bursting with flavour as well as the penne. The grilled cheese tasted very similar to a non-vegan grilled cheese and the fries were fresh and crisp. The children had chocolate chip cookies that were still warm...talk about fresh. I also had a soy matcha latte and the matcha was top grade. Be sure to try their strawberry, passion fruit lemonade. It is sugar free yet sweet enough. I wish they were located closer to me so that I could get catering.

I came here because I wanted some fresh quality food for breakfast. We got each of the acai bowls, a hot latte, and a cold latte. The acai bowls were truly some of the worst I've had. Mine was soupie with frozen chunks that had not thawd. There was no fresh fruit on top as mentioned on the menu and when I asked they said that they blend the fruit with the acai. We asked them not to do that with my boyfriends bowl (also not sure why they couldn't make them both at once) and we discovered that they don't have all the fresh fruit listed so he had frozen pineapple chucks in his as well as acia chunks. I also really did not like that they served us everything in disposable containers even though we dined in. The people were very friendly and trying to make us happy so I feel bad but we did not have a good experience. Maybe their tacos are amazing I don't know but I'd say skip the bowls for sure.
Jane B — Google review
Pleasantly surprised to find a plant-based restaurant in such a small town! The prices are similar to everywhere else in/around Julian. Lovely patio with umbrellas. The food was delicious: I got a large iced hazelnut latte with oat milk, which was not too sweet (they offered to adjust it if it wasn't to my liking, but it was perfect), and the jackfruit tacos, which were fresh and bursting with flavor! My husband got the tropical smoothie, which I thought might have had a bit too much almond milk or something cuz it wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting, and the soyrizo breakfast burrito, which was warm, crispy, and filling! We will definitely be back ☺️

Carmen's Place is a charming restaurant in Julian that offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. Visitors praise the attentive service, with Jenny, the waitress, receiving special mention for her welcoming demeanor. The owner and cook, Carmen, is lauded for her delicious food, including Mac and cheese, fried chicken, shepherd's pie, and fish tacos. The establishment is popular among Pacific Crest Trail hikers due to Carmen's hospitable treatment of them.
A popular spot with hikers so be prepared to step over smelly packs and bodies to get in the door. The food was excellent and service was pretty good. Our server was a bit slow on the uptake but she muddled though.

My wife and I ate here after a bad experience at another restaurant. We loved it. Jenny our waitress greeted us as we walked up the stairs. She smiled the whole time we were there and that makes a big difference in how we felt about being there. My wife had the Mac and cheese and I had the fried chicken. The food was great, thanks to Carmen the owner and cook. We will definitely come back here.

Service was sketchy at best. Ordered on an early Friday night, two hot chocolates, chips, salsa, and a meatloaf. After 45 minutes all we ever received were the hot chocolates, chips, salsa, and bill. Where's the meatloaf? Waitress said she never heard the order. She never wrote it down. No spoon, no napkins, no check-up from server. Never tried the food, because it was never delivered. Next time our time and money will be spent elsewhere .

READ PAST REVIEWS ON HERE AND YELP. DON'T COME HERE! We arrived and the waitress/owner took 15 min to greet us and another 15 min to bring chips and salsa. Over an hour later we finally got our kids food, but nothing for us. While this was going on several customers saw that we were not happy about not getting our food and got up and left. Finally not wanting to wait any more I walked inside and told the waitress/owner we were leaving. She immediately got defensive and raised her voice at me saying "I don't need this s__t". I'm just happy that we were able to save a couple families from attempting to eat at this terrible restaurant. DON'T EVER COME HERE!!!!!!!!! My first mistake was not reading reviews before coming here because surprise surprise they have a history of poor and slow service. Oh yes and to top it off, I watched the owner/waitress grab a rag off the top of a garbage can to clean off a new customers table! For that I will report them to the CA dept of health

Never again. Had the most bizarre experience. First, I must say that this was a repeat visit based on the fact that the first time we went there for dinner, the waitress (I think it was the owner) was so personable and attentive, and the dinner was delicious! It was quiet and romantic. We expected at least some semblance of the same. This time, the place was packed. We couldn't get anyone's attention for menus, so went up to the cash register and was told to sit anywhere. We had a hard time finding a place to sit away from the blaring boom box. What's up with that? 45 minutes went by. Finally a teen boy came and asked us we wanted something to drink. We got our own menus and picked out something easy to order and bring. I ordered a hamburger. It was brought to me almost raw. Isn't there a law against that? I could go on and on about the very young waitress. She was really curt and rude. I think she was tasked with handling everything and she was stressed. But I didn't think she had to be so rude to me. There are a lot of really nice places to eat in Julian. I can check this one off as--been there--won't go back.

Amazing, Healthy Fresh Farm to Table Mexican Food. The best food I’ve had. Friendly people and live music.

Delicious. They only had chicken left at closing time on a Sunday, and they made us the most delicious nachos that filled both me and my fiancee up for 12$ not bad.

I cannot stress enough the fact that these were the best nachos I have ever had. The salsa is fresh and addictively delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. I already can’t wait to come back.

Love the food and the staff. One of the reasons to stop at Julian Station. They have a amazing monthly 🍣 sushi night that is by reservation only and it books up months in advance. It's a pretty cool place with local music and local fair.

Just stopped into Julian station while passing through and the smell of the food tempted us enough to stay and eat. We weren't super hungry so we just shared the nachos with Carne asada and got some iced tea. Delicious. Fresh ingredients, friendly service, homey atmosphere. So glad we stopped. I won't be coming to Julian just for Apple pie or hard cider anymore. Mmmmm

I asked a local firefighter what was good to eat in Wynola, and he suggested the " taco bar". So I gave it a try, and was very pleased with my Carne Asada salad. It’s grass fed beef and organic greens. Delicious! I’ll suggest it to my friends.

Only real Mexican food in Julian area that I've had.... get the carnitas it's bomb. Super friendly family owners. Jose knows what he is doing and they will do well.

This place is amazing. They actually upgraded and moved to one block of main st in Julian, on B st. Their name changed to Quecho. Definitely go! And get their nachos!

Located by the picturesque Lake Cuyamaca, the Lake Cuyamaca Restaurant & Store offers hearty American dishes in a rustic setting with lakeside seating. Recently under new management, this local eatery provides a pleasant dining experience with good food and service. While the prices may be on the higher side, the stunning views from the back patio make it worth it. However, some visitors have noted that certain aspects such as early closure and locked doors can be off-putting.
Best service in Julian, food is flavorful, beer variety is plenty and delicious , prices are totally reasonable, good crowd. My only complaint is the birds on the patio, super aggressive. Other than that it was relaxing, fun, fast and yummy!! The view is cool!

we arrived a couple minutes before closing and were very hungry, but they served us and told us we could sit down and eat in the restaurant. thanks to the staff and the nice girl Ashlyn! we were satisfied. the food was delicious and the view was amazing!

I had the Back Country Burger and it was excellent. The French fries are simply the best I’ve ever had (and I’m French, so that says a lot!). The staff was very attentive and welcoming, and the view over the lake made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!

This local eatery is recently under new management. See the attached pictures. We arrived at 16:45 on a Wednesday for early dinner. There was a party of 8 at one table and 2 servers. Most of the tables had chairs stacked on them sending a clear message that the crew wanted to go home. Official closing time is 19:00. This was very off-putting. The food and service was very good. After our meal, I wanted to go out on the lake view porch to watch sunset lighting changes, but the door was locked. Another clear message. The server unlocked it as I snapped a couple of shots. This is a management issue. The employees were trying to be efficient not recognizing the message. If we return and are greeted the same way, I think I will walk out and go to one of the good eateries in nearby Julian.

I had an absolutely amazing time here at the cabin! It was beautiful inside, comfortable beds, very nice sheets and blankets. The decor was cute. I loved everything about my birthday weekend getaway! With the Lakeview cabin, we got a free boat rental for both days! Unfortunately the first day was very foggy and cold, so we didn't utilize the boat, but the second day was absolutely gorgeous out! So it was perfect. Everyone who works here was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Very well staffed and I will definitely be coming back! One of my best birthday celebrations yet!! ♥

Came here during the pandemic. Sat outside on the patio with a beautiful view. The tables are set up properly with distance. Ordered a chicken pot pie and a reuben sandwich. Chicken pot pie was amazing! Craving for dessert? I highly recommend mountain berry pie! Minus one star because there was a lady at the next table coughing her lungs out without her mask on. She didn't even bother to cover her cough. The server saw it and we even complained but he didn't do anything about it.

Great eggs Benedict and omelet. Great view. Great service. We sat out on the patio overlooking the lake. Beautiful view. Our server gave my husband a piece of local pie for his birthday. We will be back to try their famous chicken pot pie 🥧

Heroes Wood-Fired Pizza is an American restaurant that takes pride in supporting military personnel and first responders. The casual eatery offers indoor and outdoor seating, with live bluegrass band performances adding to the lively atmosphere. The owner is known to greet guests and even join in on a song or two. Previously known as Wynola Pizza and Bistro, the restaurant is now under new family management.
This place was absolutely fantastic. My girlfriend & her family have been coming for years but this was my first time ever! Great service seems harder & harder to find lately so it was such a pleasant experience to be treated great by authentic, hard-working people. The whole restaurant had small-town, family owned vibe which gave our casual Saturday night dinner out a wonderful experience. We got there as the place was experiencing a dinner rush. We were asked to wait for ten minutes to order so the kitchen could catch up. Everyone was extremely friendly so it was easy to take the time to study the menu. We order a classic pepperoni za (pictured), the half Caesar to split & the sweet chili glazed wings (not pictured). The wings & salad came out promptly & were absolutely fantastic. Both dishes were fresh & delicious. This must be a scratch kitchen because the flavors were real-salad croutons were homemade, wing sauce was scrumptious! Finally the pizza was definitely fresh & real. The outdoor seating area was great. Live music was playing which made the ambiance fun & relaxing. Overall this place was great. I highly recommend it to anyone passing through or staying nearby. I will give the caveat about the “garlic rimmed crust” up-charge they offer for a dollar more. The crust was okay but the topping didn’t really add much flavor to the crust. The “upgrade” was very underwhelming & not really worth the extra buck. You won’t miss anything if you skip it. Also, the za is a taddddd greasy when it first comes out. Make sure to ask for extra napkins because these slices can DRIP before you devour the wonderful, delicious pizza you are about to enjoy!

I was hesitant to come back because we didn’t like the burgers (about a year ago when i last visited). I’m glad that i gave it another try. There’s a line to order. It took almost an hour from ordering to getting our food. We ordered two pizzas - one cheese pizza with olive and a buffalo chicken pizza. They are 12” each so enough for four of us to share. They both were delicious and the crust was good. The decor was in line with the name of the restaurant. They offer military discount too. Overall, i would go back for more pizza next time.
Bonnie Y — Google review
Service was excellent and atmosphere was comfortable. We ordered a plate of fries for the kid, a chicken salad and Margherita pizza. Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed with the food. The pizza was bland and cheese just slid off when picking up a slice. Chicken salad was caked in a kind of cheesy-tasting dressing. Had the salad remade without the dressing but unfortunately the herbs with the salad still made it a bust. Appreciated how fast service was though while they were super busy and staff were all quite friendly.

Stopped in for lunch and the food hit the spot — everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The burger and fries were excellent, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. But what really stood out was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, upbeat, and genuinely helpful — the kind of service that makes you feel welcome and turns a good meal into a great experience. Their hospitality honestly made the trip that much better. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Julian!

Amazing staff and food. We got the steak sandwich with coleslaw and also the chicken tenders with fries. For drinks we got Hero root beer and Hero diet cola. Definitely would recommend the food and atmosphere. Because it is absolutely delicious yumm.

Went here the other day with my family. They had live music which was really great and the food was delicious as well. The Caesar salad was a great size, we got the full. The pizza was very delicious and I also got the bowl of corn chowder which I absolutely loved. It is very meaty which made it extra yummy. If I am ever in the area again I would definitely come here for dinner. Everyone was very friendly

This was literally the best pizza of our lives. The BBQ chicken pizza wasn’t only the best pizza that we’ve had, it may be the best food itself during our nearly 5 years of full-time RV travel exploring the United States. So this is particularly high praise, as we’ve gotten a lot of perspective to compare it to! And we are so grateful to this restaurant for being a Harvest Host and offering overnight RV parking in their lot to members of that program. Live music was super fun, atmosphere was great, and Julian is a super cute, fun, and delicious town. Do not die before having the pizza here—it’s THAT good!!!

Nestled in the scenic backdrop of Lake Cuyamaca, The Pub at Lake Cuyamaca is a must-visit for anyone exploring the area. Even if you come prepared with your own lunch, the allure of this bustling pub is hard to resist. To avoid long waits, it's wise to visit during off-peak hours. With both indoor and outdoor seating options—complete with refreshing air conditioning—it's a perfect spot to unwind after a day outdoors.
Really enjoyed The Pub at Lake Cuyamaca. The menu is nice, & they offer really tasty appetizers; definitely recommend the giant pretzel; It’s enough to share with 2-3 people. The wings are fantastic; great rub, smoked on site, & add the garlic-parmesan coating for the ultimate taste treat. Good assortment of beer, wine, & non-alcoholic beverages. They have a great deck overlooking the lake, but it was a little too chilly/windy for my husband when we arrived to sit out. It did warm up later, so the deck would be my choice. The service was very good: fast & friendly. Prices were fair for what you got. I definitely recommend you give The Pub a try. It’s a short drive from Julian, if you’re up for a night or two, (8-9 miles) on a not too winding road. Really glad we made the visit!

What a great hidden gem, it seems like a locals joint. Outdoor seating was pleasant with a beautiful view. Bloody Mary was like a meal, very picture worthy. The burger was phenomenal and my chili bowl was good. It was very good but a little too tomatoey, but still good if you know what I mean. Service was good, David was very attentive.

Went here for lunch. The servings are really large. Had the jalapeno burger. They have outside dining right along the lake shore. Beautiful views. There was one waitress handling all the tables and the service was spectacular. The burger could have had a little more flavor, but I fixed that with some salt. Other than that, this place has an amazing atmosphere and it very relaxing. Must see location on your way to Julian

Terrific food and craft beer. The trout entree was excellent, as was the service and the scenery. Will be back soon. Stopped by again and had the pickle Burger w/ Garlic Fries. It's a winner with chopped pickles in Chipotle sauce and cheddar cheese. The fish & chips are also terrific. The Southwest Chicken Sandwhich with a side order of Onion rings has become a favorite. One of the best San Diego backcountry pubs with an excellent Nickle beer selection and Pliny the Elder. Recommended

Our favorite place to eat before or after a hike (Stonewall Mine is a fun, nearby hike!). We're enjoyed the chili, turkey dip (delicious!), fish sandwich, and the Back Country burger with fries and fried pickles. Service was prompt and friendly. We were treated to a sighting of a bald eagle over the lake! Highly recommend 👌

The first time visiting this place, we were blown away. Service was great and the food was delicious. We’ve been back a few times since and it’s been inconsistent at best. On our most recent trip, the biggest change went from being seated and served, to ordering at the counter and finding your own seat. This in itself isn’t an issue, but they charge gratuity on every order, without really doing anything. The next issue was the food. They were serving a limited menu so we ordered two burgers, a blackened chicken sandwich and the PUBLIC chili. We’ve had the chili before and it was delicious. However, the chili was bland and lukewarm. The burgers were a huge disappointment as well. We ordered them medium rare and received them way over well done. How do you have a dry burger that’s greasy at the same time? Not really sure how that happened. Other than the change in seating/everyone staying at the counter, the staff was nice and friendly. The views of lake cuyamaca are pretty great, I only wish they kept the food quality they had.

Customer service lacking, understaff, workers have a RBF face. they have a sign in the front entrance states to find your own table , they we're rude when we were waiting by a table that customers had just left, attitude! .....20 minutes went by nobody approach us to see if we want it anything to drink, or we will be right with you. BAD bad bad bad. Stay away from this place , food is not even appealing i tried to give a chance since we love to go with my family and try different places even if is a hole in the wall. The only thing beautiful is the lake view. This place is horrible. I was in my best behavior to not cause a scene so we got up and left with my family. Had a better pleasant experience at descanso junction A+++++++

Service was horrible. I deleted my review from 2 years ago where I gave them 5 stars. We came back down e to it USED to be a great place. Service was so horrific. We sat down at bar seating no and there was a rush so we were patient. Our server (who didn’t acknowledge us at all) eventually came to help 18min later. Gave us our drinks and when we asked for a glass we were given a dirty glass. You could see lip stick remains from previous. We walked in and place was about 50% full and there was a 10min wait, why not sure, bus lady just liked to stand around. They had no cashiers at store and had to come to bar to buy ice cream, chips or anything sold at store. Horribly managed establishment. We have come here for years even before the NEW owners came in. I own a business and would have be appalled by the lack of efficiency as well as the horrible customer service. Usually I would not come here ever again but I’m going to continue to come and order minimum items just to bring awareness and monitor their service. If I see a change with staff I will change my review but I stand firm on the 1/zero stars. Any real owner would take this review into consideration and make changes immediately. The chef’s were working hard but the other staff was a complete let down (food was quality). One bad apple to you wait staff can undermine everything else. The young lady running the bar top/register is the problem. I still gave a tip cause I know it’s shared with kitchen but I really wanted to leave no TIP cause of her. Owner/manager plz do a better job!!!!! You have a great thing going here but the service/ cleanliness was horrific!!!!!! I will not let this go and recommend to everyone that you just need to watch this and you will see what I’m saying.

Visited the delightful Fat Anthony's Italian Delicatessen after being lured in by the sight of ladies indulging in cheesecake cups. Despite not being a dessert enthusiast, I was thoroughly impressed. This establishment offers more than just pastries; they also serve sandwiches. The family-owned ambiance and fresh appearance of everything only enhanced my experience. If I find myself back in Julian, I would definitely return for their great staff and delectable food.
Checked out this place finally, and I couldn’t be more grateful I did! I was able to meet the owner, and they were very friendly. The food is absolutely delicious. I ordered a meatball sub, to which they were almost out but the owner went and got the last one for me. The meatballs were very filling, sauce was flavorful, and the bread was sturdy but soft. I also snagged a mini peach cheesecake, it was so good I wish I got a full one. There was a 15-20 minute wait time, but it is more than worth the wait because you can taste the love!! I also have to mention how affordable it is, 6” sandwich + desert was $16.47! Don’t skip out on this place when you’re craving a good sandwich or sweet treat!

It was a tiny cute place with delicious food!!! I had their “Capo” sandwich, with mayo + mustard + spices and then some lettuce and pickles and oh it was so good!!! Every single item my family had was delicious! (Plus their homemade cookies, they’re as big as your palm and sooooooo good) The only down side is they take a bit to make :( But as long as you can wait just an extra 15-20 minutes for a sandwich GO!!! SO YUMMY!!! :D

Excellent sub sandwiches and service. Their bread is fresh, to go orders are made quickly, and with a good variety of toppings that are customizable for each sandwich. They also have outdoor seating for when the weather is nice.

Hands down, BEST sandwich shop in Julian. I got a BLT on a roll, good size sandwich for 6in and the bread was soft too. Definitely hit the spot after doing a hike out here. I took a pic, but it doesn't do the sandwich justice, and excuse chewed part I was really hungry, lol.. Also military discount and the staff is very welcoming too. This is gonna be my sandwich spot from now on when I come to Julian.

Awesome spot….saw some ladies eating some “cheesecake cups” and had to swing by. I’m not even really a huge dessert person, but I was throughly impressed. It’s a deli so obviously they have sandwiches as well. Will have to come to try. But overall great staff…everything looks fresh and Iove the entire “family owned” feel of the restaurant. Would definitely come back if I’m ever in Julian again💪💪💪

This sandwich is the Hodads of the sandwich world. it's a shame its tucked all the way up in julian. the sandwich was huge, the meat was excellent and generous portions. the veggies were equally generous and fresh and the gourmet pickle was a nice touch. my new favorite go to at julian

Spent the weekend at a rb&b above a Mexican restaurant. It was very cozy had a kitchen 2 bedroom 2 pull out sofa beds. Fireplace, ac, heaters, lots of blankets baby fold away crib. This place was the highlight of our trip to Julian. They’ve got a little bit of everything for everyone. The wine and chocolate tasting was so much fun. Albert really knows his stuff. Then, we had some incredible tacos while listening to live music and enjoying the view outside. It was busy, but nowhere near as bad as downtown Julian. Definitely worth the stop if you’re in town.
