Garden
San Diego Botanic Garden, located in Encinitas, spans 37 acres and boasts an extensive collection of exotic plants from all over the world. The garden features four miles of trails with picturesque views and a variety of flowering trees, palms, and bamboo. It is a great destination for visitors of all ages, but especially appealing to kids with its interactive children's garden areas such as the Hamilton Children's Garden and Seeds of Wonder Children's Garden.
The San Diego Botanic Garden is a.perfect place for plant lovers to visit. From beautiful fragrant plumerias and towering banana trees to unique pitcher plants, and dragon fruit, every corner was wonderful. The statues covered in succulents, water lilies, and birds of paradise add even more beauty. The massive bamboo was incredible. So much to see and explore. We didn’t have enough time to see everything in just a few hours. When we’re in the area again, we will definitely return.
Thuy M — Google review
We enjoyed the gardens with what little time we had. We, unknowingly, purchased tickets 1 hour before closing. We would have appreciated a warning from the associate that we had 1 hour left. We should have done our research, but this was an impromptu visit. Surprisingly, tickets are full price whether you have all day or 1 hour. We will possibly visit again, with plenty of time to enjoy the whole gardens.

Another fun weekend activity with our son during our San Diego visit! The San Diego Botanical Garden may be small, but it’s packed with plants from all over the world. We especially enjoyed the South African section — very unique species you don’t see every day — and the fun “plant mariachi band” in the Mexican garden made us smile. They even had a magic show for the kids, which was a nice surprise. For those who love gardening, there are plants available for sale too. The bamboo garden was another highlight — really interesting to see how different types of bamboo grow. Overall, a cool and relaxing visit surrounded by nature.
Regis K — Google review
Amazing gardens situated not far from the coast. You can see the Pacific from an observation tower at the back of the gardens. These gardens are not as big as the Golden State Park gardens but the San Diego Botanic Garden has a large variety of ecospaces packed into it. The bamboo forest is amazing. Make sure you go through it. The plants attract a variety of animals including monarchs in the butterfly garden. The hummingbirds are found throughout, and the pond is a delightful place to see water plants and turtles. Some of the garden's standouts are olive trees, cork trees, and an artistic Mexican fiesta garden.
Dan's I — Google review
I expected so more from a botanical garden. It's in desperate need of a face lift. Half of the plants didn't have signs letting you know what they were. And the signs they do have are faded, tiny and really hard to read. It seems like there is a serious lack of plant maintenance. There were some really beautiful areas though, like the lily pond. And it was a nice place for a peaceful morning stroll. Be advised they do not accept cash, only credit cards.
Terri A — Google review
In all of my time in San Diego this was my first time to visit the Botanical Gardens. The Light Scape Walk was well worth the time. On my next visit I have to try to make time to visit during the day.
Alfred B — Google review
Calling all the plant lovers! this is a really cool spot! Way bigger than I expected and super relaxing to walk through. The bamboo garden was definitely my favorite — super peaceful and felt like its own little world. The rainforest section was awesome too, with all the greenery and little paths winding through it. Perfect place to just stroll and chill for a bit. Would totally go back.
Jess R — Google review
An awesome array of plants to see. Unfortunately many of the signs seem to have been removed from the children's areas. Additionally, the layout and map were rather confusing. Thankfully they have printed maps at major intersections with ideolocators (the 'you are here' mark)

The Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens in Encinitas offer a serene escape with koi ponds, benches, and stunning ocean views. This spiritual center was founded in the 1920s by Paramahansa Yogananda and is dedicated to sharing the teachings of Kriya Yoga. Visitors can explore the beautiful gardens, attend meditation sessions, and even take yoga classes at this tranquil retreat.
This is a hidden gem right next to Swamis Beach. Beautiful pristine views overlooking the ocean, and sparkling water. The gardens itself is a place of immense spiritual energy, and is ideal for meditation out in the nature. Variety of vibrant plants and vegetation can be enjoyed here, and its perfect place to get immersed into the beautiful landscape as well. Very well designed, and perfect place to relax and meditate after a stressful week, while absorbing the gorgeous views of the ocean and stunning natural formations which surround this area. Admission is free, so I highly recommended going here for a short weekend getaway or wedding proposal. Its absolutely worth every minute spent here, and experience oneness with the source of creation.
Nikhil K — Google review
The garden is out of someone’s imagination. It does not feel real. It’s like the Elysian Fields. The ocean and views are dramatic. People flock here. They don’t let you see the sunsets or they would never be able to empty the garden. It always gets overcrowded. It’s beyond beautiful as the garden and ocean meet.
Been’ T — Google review
Clean, beautiful, and cozy. Yes, there are always visitors here, but it doesn’t prevent you from being alone with yourself. You can stroll along the well-kept paths among flowers and trees or find a modest bench and enjoy some solitude. Part of the park overlooks the ocean, offering magnificent views and fresh sea air. When I was there, I noticed an unhealthy-looking foam on the surface of the koi pond. I hope the fish are not in danger. I will definitely come back.

The Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens in Encinitas are absolutely stunning. The gardens are peaceful, beautifully maintained, and offer incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. It’s the perfect place to slow down, reflect, and enjoy a quiet moment away from the busyness of life. The pathways, koi ponds, and flowers all add to the serene atmosphere. A true hidden gem that feels almost magical—highly recommend stopping by.
Ricky M — Google review
There is a large two door fenced gate open with a donation to see this must see fellowship garden. Being there feels amazing and meditation scenery is available all around. It is the most lively garden I have ever seen.
Miriam A — Google review
Such a beautiful gem! Beautiful gardens. I wish it had a quiet rule. I wanted to meditate uninterrupted but there were a few loud visitors.
Katy M — Google review
Been wanting to go to this place for a long time, but just never have time to go there. So finally decided to go there today. It not as big as it seems on video clip everyone see, but it very peaceful n very nice to go and just wondering around to get rid of stress. Glad I went here. So go, you will not regret it. Just make sure you don't speak too loud and leave your phone volume very high...

This is such a gem in the San Diego county. Peaceful with sound of ocean, bird singing and running water in the fish pond. Blooming flowers with pollinators. Respectful of this nature beauty and the peace it brings to the community.

Recreation center
Swami's Beach, located in Encinitas next to the Self-Realization Fellowship Temple, is a beloved spot for surfers and beachgoers. Despite its popularity, the beach often remains uncrowded. At low tide, visitors can explore the tide pools just north of the stairway. The area near the large tiki statue is a hub for local hoopers, dancers, and musicians showcasing their talents.
During my recent visit to Swami's Beach in Encinitas, I was captivated by its unique blend of natural beauty and vibrant surf culture. Descending the staircase from the bluff-top park, I was greeted by panoramic ocean views and the rhythmic sound of waves crashing against the shore. The beach is renowned for its consistent right point break, making it a haven for surfers. I spent hours watching them skillfully navigate the waves, their silhouettes framed against the horizon. Even as a non-surfer, the energy and passion were palpable and infectious. Beyond the surf, Swami's offers a serene environment for relaxation. The adjacent Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens provide a peaceful retreat, with lush greenery and koi ponds overlooking the ocean. It's a perfect spot to reflect and soak in the tranquil ambiance. The community atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Locals and visitors alike gather to enjoy the beach, share stories, and bask in the California sun. Whether you're there to surf, meditate, or simply unwind, Swami's Beach offers an experience that resonates long after you've left.
Kytka — Google review
This is our favorite beach in Encinitas. We like it because it's small and romantic at sunset. There are a lot of surfers here and it's fun to watch them. The Easter Island statues are cool and the view from the parking area overlooking the beach is amazing. The steps down to the beach are steep but the view of the reef break is worth it. The sand on the beach is firm so it's nice to walk on. Depending on the tide you can walk to the Boneyard for more cool views. The parking area and facilities are always maintained and very clean every time we come here to walk. It's a small parking area, but there is plenty of parking in the street area with a scenic walk. If you're here in Encinitas just visiting, you should definitely make this a stop.
Rich M — Google review
Lovely little getaway beach. Visited on a Wednesday around noon and although the parking lot was full (and small) there were a lot of parking spots available on the street. Free and no time limit. The staircase down to the beach is long, but lots of surfers and people of all ages get up and down just fine. A blanket of clouds lasted a few hours before the sun finally came out around 2:30pm. Pretty seashells are found along the coastline but there are signs prohibiting the removal of shells or sea creatures from the beach. Heard there were tide pools but we arrived too late in the day to see them. Compared to other SD beaches I’ve visited, Swami’s wasn’t nearly as crowded. We had such a calm, peaceful beach day! Even spotted some dolphins and seals in the water. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintainer which was nice. Lots of good food spots nearby too. Highly recommend checking it out!
Melia — Google review
Swami's Beach is so nice anytime of year! Small parking lot but plenty of street parking. Take the stairs down to the beach when the tide is low. There are some nice tide pools along the cliffs that are full of sea creatures. There are restrooms here and you don't have to pay to park.
Robert C — Google review
Beautiful beach with panoramic view of the ocean and perfect spot for watching surfers and sunsets. The beaches dotted along Encinitas are some of the best. Parking lot at Swami is small but there’s road side parking along hwy 101. Beach is only accessible by stairs.
DTM — Google review
Such a lovely beach with a stairway to the tidepools. The best time to see it is couple hours before 6:30pm sunset and to see the tides.
Miriam A — Google review

Moonlight Beach, located 39 km from the city center of San Diego, is a popular destination known for its rich history and family-friendly atmosphere. The beach got its name from the midnight picnics held by Encinitas Boulevard residents in the early 1900s. Over the years, it has become a favorite spot for both locals and tourists, offering sandy shores and ample space for families to enjoy.
Visited July 7-8, 2025 This beach is beautiful. It’s in Encinitas. There is plenty if parking but most arrive early for availability. We most relaxed and sunbathed. Stuck our ‘toes’ in the water which was cold but you’d adapt as you waded into the water. Clean beach too but the public bathrooms…well, public bathrooms. We also had the opportunity to play 2-on-2 volleyball. That was fun! We’ve always wanted to play in California! There are vendors for food. Lifeguard stations and first aid available. It’s a big beach. Family friendly. Be sure to bring sun block and all the beach amenities. However, you can rent umbrellas. Not sure how much. Lastly, be sure to return to catch a sunset, it’s incredible!
CG F — Google review
Good beach and beach park with lifeguards. Beach also has volleyball area and snack bar. Parking is above beach on lot. D street surf break is just south of Moonlight and favored by locals. Benches above beach in parking lot are a good place to watch the waves…4:20 is a prime time.

One of the besr beaches in California. Lots of parking and easy to get to. Well maintained and very clean. The public restroom is perfectly locat d steps from the beach and park. There's a snack bar too! Endless sand and space for people to enjoy. One of my favorite beaches. Definitely worth the visit. Be back soon.
ARNEL D — Google review
Moonlight beach is a beautiful beach in Encinitas CA. While on vacation we came here for an afternoon on a weekday. It was rather crowded and finding parking was time consuming but worth the effort.
Ivan H — Google review
I really enjoyed visiting this beach! It was clean, spacious, and had a friendly atmosphere. The location is super convenient just a short walk to plenty of food spots and shopping areas. It’s the perfect place to relax or hang out with friends and family. I think I’ve found my new go to beach.
Elianna V — Google review
Moonlight Beach is a Beautiful beach. Free parking. Amazing place
Michelle H — Google review
Free parking, lifeguards a plenty, outside showers, snack bar and grill, rentals, BBQ, and a playground! And the biggest plus!? No rocks, just sand, seaweed, good waves and sand crabs! Best beach all around! Yes, it's very crowded at times, especially when all the local camps and junior lifeguards are there during the summer, but Moonlight Beach is worth it!
Christina R — Google review
It's Moonlight in Encinitas. That's all you need to know. Local and tourist favorite. New amenities - well kept - showers, volley ball courts. Bathrooms are OK. Beach isn't as soft as say Coronado or Mission Beach and not as flat so walking is harder but it's better surf. Pretty crowded as it's not a big beach.

La Paloma Theatre, a historic 1920s movie theater located in Encinitas, is known for its diverse offerings. It showcases foreign and independent films, hosts festivals, and stages concerts. The theater has a rich history as one of the first to screen 'Talkies' during the transition from silent pictures. La Paloma also boasts a beautiful pipe organ, reflecting its heritage from the silent movie era.
This is a beautiful old piece of history. We went there on Sunday morning at 9 am for Light Church and I can't recommend this enough. Music was relevant, the theater was packed, and you truly felt the Holy Spirit. The sermon was applicable to life and I met many wonderful young people there.
Dawn M — Google review
I love this theater. They show classic movies and it brings back such a sense of early 2000s nostalgia. I came here to see the Phantom Menace and attack of the clones five stars for being able to choose our own seat, great customer service, and great quality concessions.
Jessie W — Google review
Crazed Imaginations was in fine form on Halloween and we had a blast at their sold out show!
Regina — Google review
Cash only. Admission is $12, but the candy and popcorn is all $5, which is overpriced in my opinion. Seats were uncomfortable and the overall theater is poorly maintained. Has a lot of potential to bring new indie films to the area, but instead choose only cult classics. Which is fine, but personally it could have a more impact on the community by having events and showings.
Sammy M — Google review
Perfect novelty. A lovely treasure for San Diego history and film lovers. Also the perfect place to watch David Lynch’s Eraserhead. A worn theater but still so nice.

Nestled in a stunning setting with ocean views, Encinitas Ranch Golf Course is an 18-hole haven for golf enthusiasts. The course offers a mix of easy and challenging sections suitable for all skill levels. After a game, players can unwind at the Clubhouse or savor delectable meals at the Ranch Grill Restaurant. The driving range provides an ideal spot to refine your swing. With its breathtaking Pacific Ocean backdrop, this course promises an unparalleled golfing experience.
Encinitas Ranch Golf Course is a great spot for a round of golf, especially with its coastal vibe and those ocean views sneaking in on a few holes. The layout is super friendly—wide fairways give you some breathing room, but the greens make sure you stay sharp. It’s always in great shape, and the pace is nice and laid-back, perfect for enjoying the California sunshine. Plus, it’s just a fun course whether you’re out for a casual game or something more competitive.
Bill H — Google review
What an awesome course! I came to San Diego for a 3 day golf trip and this was my favorite course that we played. The course was in amazing shape and the views of the ocean were beautiful. I definitely would play here again when I’m back in the area.
Max K — Google review
There were great views from a few holes. The golf course is well maintained and high up, hilly. There were some big slopes on fairway as well. They charge the golf cart per person not per cart
Scarlett — Google review
Great course! Well maintained and friendly staff. Fun to play! Nice views of the ocean on front 9. Definitely worth checking out if in the area.
Blake D — Google review
2nd best public course in all of San Diego (behind the PGA course of Torrey Pines). Beautiful view and well maintained. Fun layout that can test you but is very approachable. Opportunities to shoot low and good pace of play.
Alex L — Google review
In north San Diego up in Encinitas this course is on the easier side with wide open fairways that let you stay in bounds if you miss hit your drive but the greens can actually be a hit tough in an enjoyable way. Course was in great shape and they’ve got a great driving range as well as putting greens. Hardest thing on this course is to get a good tee time because they have kept pricing reasonable even though their competitors in Orange County and San Diego doubled their pricing in the pandemic, which was a pleasant surprise. For a foursome, carts, 2 pairs of Travis Matthew shorts, it was still all under $400. Great value and price for such a nice course. They even had ocean holes and sprawling views that were breathtakingly beautiful. Absolutely love this place! 5 stars
Peter — Google review
Course was absolutely stunning and in excellent condition. Pretty forgiving with open fairways on most holes. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice course to play in San Diego without paying Torrey rates. Paid $95 w/ a cart
David T — Google review

Nestled in the charming Encinitas neighborhood of Leucadia, California, the Leucadia Farmers Market is a beloved Sunday tradition for locals and visitors alike. With over 75 vendors offering an array of fresh produce, artisanal foods, and handcrafted goods, this market is a paradise for foodies and craft enthusiasts. From organic fruits and vegetables to delectable baked goods, meats, seafood, and more, there's something for everyone to savor.
Great farmers market! So much variety of fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, eggs, nuts, prepared food items, and non-food items. Plus, it's very spacious, making for a pleasant experience walking and shopping! Prepare to spend a bit of time parking, as it can get quite full.
Mary L — Google review
Probably my favorite farmers market I’ve ever been to. Lots of parking nearby with only a short walk. Takes place at the cutest elementary school. Plenty of fresh produce, local artists, fresh delicious goodies like pasta and tea and almond butter, and plenty of food trucks. Great experience with a community feel.
Gabrielle S — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised at how great this market was. I always visit the vista Saturday market, but was looking for something on Sunday. I really liked that the majority of the market was on grass rather than hot pavement and that it has plenty of seating to take a rest and enjoy a bite to eat from one of the many food vendors. Live music was great and not too loud, just right! The only downside in my opinion was that parking can be really tough since the venue is at a school in a residential neighborhood. Streets are narrow especially with cars parked on them.
Kim B — Google review
This farmers market is a decent size and has a good selection of vendors. There is cooked food, meat, plants, fruits and vegetables, and people selling other things such as clothing and pottery. It is actually on a grassy school playground. There is also a covered area with picnic tables perfect for sitting at and enjoying some food just purchased at the farmers market. There is a small amount of parking at the school, but most have to park on the street. Overall a good farmers market.
Sandra B — Google review
Never been treated so poorly from a vendor. The almond booth seller was an absolute grump. I highly suggest someone speaks to home regarding decent conduct and customer service. Stay away from this booth if you want to continue to have a nice day. Otherwise it was a nice experience. It's true how one bad apple can spoil a bunch.
Anthony L — Google review
one of the tightest communities for a busy farmers market I've ever been to. it's a large market with tons of vendors, 95% foods food and produce, not many vendors selling other goods.
Caleb D — Google review
This is everything you would want in a farmers market. The vendors are friendly and diverse in their offerings. There is tons of produce, meats, cheeses, and other great things to try. There are also some other vendors too like clothes, candles, plants, etc. There is a small chicken coup and food vendors as well. Great place to make a morning of it or for a brunch and shopping trip.
Chris S — Google review
Very pricey and posh, on my understanding a farmers market is where you can get local produce at an affordable price, Leucadia is unfortunately becoming Downtown Encinitas, where all the good food restaurants are being replaced by "Trendy joints" that are very worried about price vs offering quality.

Nice beach in the Encinitas area!! Sand is super nice and soft. Lots of people watching the Pacific ocean. A volleyball court and children's playground. Nice and clean restrooms. Plenty of space to walk along the beach and a decent parking lot which is free. Also a good spot to get great tacos.

Moonlight State Beach was hands down one of the best beaches I’ve been to in a long time. The atmosphere was incredible—families gathered around a cozy fire pit, sharing food and enjoying each other’s company. Even though it was a little chilly because of the time of year we visited, it was still relaxing to have our feet in the sand, breathing in the ocean air. There was such a good vibe all around—peaceful, friendly, and full of life. It felt like a perfect blend of fun and relaxation. The beach was super kid-friendly, which made the visit even better. There were plenty of people out surfing, giving it a lively, active feel, and the playground nearby kept the kids entertained when they weren’t splashing around. The showers and restrooms were convenient and clean, which made the whole experience that much more comfortable. Plus, the big lifeguard building nearby gave me an added sense of safety, knowing help was close if needed. I could definitely see myself coming back again—whether for a full beach day or just to catch a sunset by the fire.

If you're looking for a great public beach that has it all, this is the spot. You've got volleyball, a kids' area, and calm water, but you can also find some solid surf waves if that's what you're after. Just remember that it can be a little foggy in the mornings, but the famous California sun usually breaks through in the afternoon. I got here bright and early on a Sunday (6 a.m.!) and had no problem with parking. It definitely fills up later, but there are lots and street parking to choose from. A quick tip: park in the residential area near the volleyball if you want to skip the stairs or hill. My favorite part was getting to watch the surfers while I went for a run—and the outdoor rinse-off area was perfect for removing all that sand before heading out.

I had some time to kill before heading to San Diego and was pleasantly surprised to find such a beautiful spot to have lunch. I was expecting to pay for parking but it was free.

Bro-Am 2025 was great! Love Moonlight Beach. There are public bathrooms, food vendors, and limited parking. There was a bus shuttle. We didn't attend the entire day. The Switch foot set was wonderful!!

Pretty cool beach. They have decent bathrooms and outdoor showers. There was a little Cafe and playground. There are also rentals (like surfboards). I rode my bicycle and they had plenty of good bike racks, that were buried in the concrete, not just loosely bolted in. So I felt comfortable locking up my bicycle, along with all the other bikes. They also had volleyball nets.

This is such a great place with so many things to do! They have a pretty awesome concession as well! You can rent boogie boards and volleyballs to play in the sand courts. The lifeguards are amazing and actively running the beach and in and out of the water. They go above and beyond to ensure the safety of the people. I felt super safe knowing the lifeguards are actively watching and protecting!

One of the best loops in San Diego. Easy parking, great views, and a lot of bird sightings. Park Tip: Park on N Rios Ave (west lagoon) all the way in.. Then enjoy.. Access to the Ocean (1/4) into trail but you need to run across PCH!

It's such a beautiful easy walk with bridges that have greatly extended the trail system. The visitor gets to view the estuary (mixed fresh water from the inland mountains and salt water from the sea) and the beautiful sea in the lovely town of Cardiff by the Sea, just both of Del Mar and Solana Beach in North San Diego County.

Outstanding hiking adventure for all ages! My 6 year old loved it!

On the north side, you can go to the visitor center and there is a short hike there of about a mile or so. On the south side, you can enter from the East or from the West and maybe one or two points in between. You can create your own hike of 1 mile in length to maybe 7 or 8 total miles. Wildlife is abundant. Birding is great- we've seen American Kestrels and white-tailed kites. And a couple of times we have seen the deer herd that lives out on the island. This is a great place for a stroll, a jog, or a hike

Cardiff State Beach is a protected beach within the state park system, known for its popularity among surfers. The sugar-sand beach gently slopes into the warm Pacific waters, attracting professional surfers like Rob Machado to ride the waves near Cardiff Reef. Visitors can also admire the six-foot bronze surfer sculpture, the Cardiff Kook, and explore tide pools teeming with starfish, sea snails, and other marine life.
Although it can get crowded, it's a very picturesque beach. We enjoy walking at sunset to the beach and the cliffs as well.

Nice Hike and bike location. Site is close to bathroom and showers. Has bike rack. Site is next to Cardiff Kook which means that there a blazing lights and train noise at night at the camp site. There is a gate close to the site that shortens the distance to stores across the RR tracks. The gate is closed at night Go to Go to VG donuts. It is the local must go place for donuts. The reserve plays a crucial role as a natural habitat for various plant and animal species, including sensitive bird species and young fish.

Very educational and informative center with some live snakes inside aquarium's habitat to view. Its a large preserved wetland habitat with many different variety of native birdlife, fish and reptiles. A great place for a short or long walking trails. No biking here just walking and running trails. Free parking in the main lot is limited but lots of parking on the other side of the street. Bring your camera!

Beautiful views of the Pacific! Sunset looks stunning! Waves make the best sounds! Lots of surfers, has trail for walking along the Pacific and access to beach via a stairway. Has paid public parking. Relaxing way to end a hectic day! Lots of good restaurants nearby to pick up good food.

Campground was wonderful. We had I believe one of the top 10 spots at these grounds. Our site allowed us to walk right up to tower 16 and woke up looking at tower 16 from my tent. Restrooms are kept up and cleaned daily. No drone restrictions were detected. The low tide was nice to enjoy with the kids. I recommend bringing water shoes if planning on enjoying the beaches. My children's feet were cut up pretty bad from all the hard stone and reefs in the shallows during higher tides. Also ant repellent. Lotta ants! Many of the RV and trailer campers I noticed used the ant chalk to detour them from climbing onto their campers, great idea. Also if tent camping our location the ground was extremely hard and have sturdy stakes that still were difficult to hammer down, so don't bring those cheap stakes, you might as well not even stake the tent if you do so. Our fire ring could have been cleaned out more but not a big issue.

Oh, Cardiff By The Sea! Such a quaint city with one of San Diego County's most beautiful beaches! Get there early if you want to have a parking space in 1 of the lots which you do have to pay for, but besides the hassle of parking, this beach is amazing and worth it! We always see such beautiful water (very clear most days), good for surfing, paddle boarding and also the kids just wadding in the water. & Dogs are welcome! We will usually come early and stay all Day to enjoy the sunset. There's some a lagoon that goes under the bridge where you can also fish. Wonderful beach!!!
LaTasha A — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking beach and one of my favorite spots to surf! When it breaks right you can catch a long ride 🤙
Mr. E — Google review
The beach was pretty cool. When you walk out in the water, it’ll stay flat for a couple feet and then goes to a drop off. There was lots of seaweed everywhere. Where the water enters the lagoon, stingrays and leopard sharks were swimming in and out of there. Super cool to watch. The beach is mainly flat, they have good parking, and tables for picnics or birthdays. Surfing is a bit tough as the waves are good. During the morning it’s fine, but in the afternoon when the wind picks up, it just go straight mush. It’s a good reef break at high tide. There are lifeguards nearby and on duty, you’re right by the road so it’s a little bit noisy but not too bad, the ocean usually disperses the sound. There’s lots of places for young kids to play in the sand or go out on the water. Lifeguards are also putting up safety signs/rip current flags. Fun little beach to visit in the summer time.
Adventures G — Google review
Parking easily paid with the machine or a QR code. Restrooms, water fountain on site. Surfers love it here.
JitkaKac — Google review
We had such a great stay here. The waves and water were wonderful. The sea weed was all over but that didn't bother us. The water was cool but we got used to it. Once in the water though there was quite a bit of rock. I went to walk in and kept tripping on it. While boogie boarding it was ok, surfing seemed to be pretty good out there, but to wade in the waves was a bit troublesome. The campground facilities were great! Bathrooms and showers were kept up with and were everywhere. There were also water spickets throughout the campground, very nice to have. And at the top of the stairs from the beach were showers. The gift shop on site was really great! Some nice, quality souvenirs at reasonable prices. My husband got a great IPA for a great price too. I didn't try the fresh food though. We plan to go again and can't wait, however I may request that we drive to another beach at least once. As for camping, tent camping would be pleasant. We used to always tent camp but this time used a camper. It was difficult getting it in the spot but lesson learned. I'll be more strategic about our spot next time. Picnic tables and fire pits available at all sites were great! Wild life was squirrel and rabbits and pigeons as well as sea birds. Lots of stairs to get to the beach.

This place does everything well but the atmosphere it does splendidly. The building won an award for its architecture with the use of concrete wood and it is hard to miss. While it is casual and cone as you are the building oozes a sense of elegance and brings local cuisine to life. I recommend stopping in while exploring the soft and friendly Leucadia vibe in Encinitas.

Hiking Trails
Annie's Canyon Trail is a thrilling hiking experience located in the San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve. The trail offers sweeping views of the ocean and lagoon, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts. Hikers can start at the Gemma Parks Interpretive Trail and choose between different routes, each showcasing native flora with interpretive signage.
A really fun and interesting hiking spot with well-marked trails and detailed signage. You can choose between a moderate or difficult route to reach the overlook. If you go for the difficult option, the trail becomes a loop—you’ll enter from the challenging side and exit from the moderate side. If you choose the moderate route, you’ll reach the overlook and then return the same way. The entire trail isn’t too long - about 30 minutes - including the time waiting for others to pass, especially in narrow sections. Some parts require a bit of scrambling with both hands and feet. The view from the top is worth it, with a beautiful overlook of the lagoon. Great for a short, adventurous hike!
Jing — Google review
What a fun, short hike! We found free street parking at the trailhead and it took about half an hour of leisurely walking to get to the mouth of the canyon. It's a tight slot canyon, but short, with a fun exit up steel ladders. The top of the canyon loops back to the trail. Total time round trip was less than two hours including some sitting time. Take the side trail down close to the water to see some birds and perhaps other critters.
Dan's I — Google review
Annie’s Canyon is a beautiful place to hike with more experienced hikes, it’s very tight in the slots. Make sure you have good hiking shoes or sneakers that grip because there is loose sand and rocks to climb up. The parking is across the street off of Manchester next to the gas station, and plenty of signs to direct you to the hiking area. Make sure you take water with you and there are NO restrooms at all unless you buy something at the gas station. Do not take little kids or dogs if you are planning on hiking up because there is a ladder you have to climb. 🧗‍♂️
Julie S — Google review
Very short but difficult slot canyon, with very good views and once you walked up all the way to the top you could see a very pretty view of the ocean. If you like bird watching you should definitely go there as there were many birds and even if you don't like bird watching its still a very fun and scenic hike. This hike only takes about 10 minutes but to get to Annies canyon it takes 20 minutes on a trail. Not good for strollers because very tight spaces in some spots or wheelchairs. People with physical difficulties not go because of steep ladders.
Brandon M — Google review
Highly recommended hiking trail! There is an easy 10-15 hike to the Annie’s Canyon Trail, then there is a loop, and you want to make sure you take the path from the left. The view was memorable and the journey was fun. Tips: - good hiking shoes highly recommend! Some places are sandy slippery, not a difficult hike but needs to be focused. Not suitable for people who have difficulty walking, especially at the top. - you might need to have both hands to hold on, especially at the ‘top’, therefore, do not recommend holding a phone or a water bottle. - when you see the sign for Annie’s Canyon Trail, take the path on the right. It’s the fun, exciting, and slightly challenging trail. Part of it is narrow and some parts are steep, and some stairs. It is a one way path and will reach the top, and the path down is the path that was the one on the left. (So if you take the left, easier path up, you will totally miss the fun!
Tony F — Google review
Mos def an experience to try. I went early and on a weekday, so that there was nobody there. Had enough time to go thru the trail twice without anyone nearby. The earlier you go, the better. It's cooler then. Once that sun comes out, it gets warm. It can be a bit challenging if you're claustrophobic, so be prepared. I recommend that you try this trail hike. I'm from San Diego and have never heard of this!
Andre E — Google review
Loved the trail and its views. Even little kids can make this hike. Truly enjoyed my time here. Highly recommend!

Stunning hike alert! Gorgeous views of the bay and ocean open up along the way. The trail runs right through the hills — narrow, rocky, and full of charm. In some places, it’s so tight only one person can pass at a time. I spent about 80 minutes covering the whole loop. Spotted a snake and a few lizards too! Start at the end of Solana Hills Drive for the best experience. Bonus: it’s perfect for a date hike.

Beacon’s Beach is a prime spot for surfing enthusiasts and spectators alike. Visitors can witness skilled surfers taking on the waves from sunrise onwards, showcasing their prowess in the beautiful Pacific Ocean. It's also a great place to bring your own gear and try surfing for yourself.
Beacon’s beach is a family favorite for us! A great spot to surf and a beautiful sandy area below the cliffs as well for those who want to relax and play on the beach. Varying tides sometimes make it pretty rocky or filled with seaweed so look into current conditions before planning your beach day here. Also there are steep switchbacks to climb down to access the beach, so keep that in mind for accessibility.

An iconic beach experience. The lack of sand and parking can be a challenge. Although there is public parking on Coast Highway 101, that isn't too long of a walk. A must-see attraction in Encinitas is the Encinitas Boathouses, which are two unique houses shaped like boats called the S.S. Encinitas and the S.S. Moonlight. These houses were designed by Miles Minor Kellogg and are a fascinating sight to behold. Visitors can easily spot them while driving by, but it's important to respect the privacy of the residents by admiring them from the sidewalk or street without trespassing on their property.
A really fun landmark in Encinitas! These historic apartments were built in the 1920s. They are starting to fall into disarray, but the historic society is working to raise money to refurbish them. I was lucky enough to get a tour of the inside.

Historical landmark was cool to see. You can only view from the curb as I think there are tenants and no trespassing signs around. I heard a interview recently from a tenant? This place is so cute. There are a lot of different areas to sit in both inside and outside. I love the big chairs that sit under the tree. The coffee is really good and not bitter. Really tried liking this place but I’ve never been impressed, especially with how much you’re paying. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and asked them to add on bacon (extra $3). Paid $8 for a matcha latte that literally tasted like 90% water. Got my breakfast sandwich and turns out their $3 bacon comes from a bag of bacon bits. $3 for bacon bits is crazy. Not to mention the not so friendly staff this time around. This place is cute but I am consistently disappointed every time.

Cool coffee shop built into a historic train station. There is a large indoor and outdoor seating for hanging out (no wifi if you are trying to work). Coffee and food that we had was good...decent amount of food options beyond just pastries. Service was friendly...though took some time with how busy it was. There was a pretty consistent line out the door through the whole time we were there on a Saturday morning. Cool spot...would definitely go back.

Recently tried this unique coffee spot after living in the area for years and we were pleasantly surprised! Our group ordered an assortment of baked goods from these huge muffins, cookies, pastries and even this savory cheese bread and they were all amazing! The baked good section is a little chaotic but it fits well with the “old timey” charm of the place. Very cool place to come enjoy a fair priced, eclectic, coffee shop in Encinitas. We’ll take this spot over a commercial coffee joint any day. Come for the vibes, stay for their incredible cheese bread bacon thing!

Nothing exceptional but par for a coffee shop. The lattes were excellent, definitely the highlight. They have a super cute gift shop too!

Really Cool Coffee Shop with Delicious Coffee and yummy baked goods (baked fresh on premises daily). Good breakfast/lunch options as well. Love the outside large patio—great for hanging out, studying, meeting, people watching. Dog friendly. Limited parking though..a few spots on street in front and a tight, small parking lot in back. Great Spot though with a small gift shop as well. Be warned—lots of steps to the Restrooms👇

Batiquitos Lagoon is a stunning coastal wetland that offers visitors a unique blend of natural beauty and wildlife observation. Spanning 561 acres, this protected area is home to over 180 bird species, including the endangered Snowy Plover and California Least Tern. The lagoon features a delightful two-mile hiking trail shaded by riparian trees, providing ample opportunities for hikers to soak in panoramic views while enjoying the serene environment.
This is a lovely place with sparkling lagoon with water that shines in the sunshine, surrounded by tall green plants. You can take a peaceful walk or jog, spot many fascinating birds, and soak in the calming natural beauty. Plus, it's a perfect spot for capturing beautiful photos. When I visited it, I had two beautiful experiences. At 8 am, it was misty, creating a serene and mysterious atmosphere. Then, around 9 am, the sun came out, and everything was surrounded by warm sunlight, giving me the best of both worlds. It's really worth a visit!

Taco restaurant
The Taco Stand is a casual eatery that draws inspiration from the street carts of Tijuana and the Baja Peninsula. It prides itself on offering made-to-order tortillas and fresh guacamole, as well as scratch-made salsas daily. In addition to their delectable tacos and burritos, they also serve Mexican popsicles, refreshing beverages, imported beer, and authentic Rosarito-style churros.
One of the best taco places I have ever tried. On a Sunday evening there is still a long line, had to wait around 30 minutes but it was well worth the wait. I have never seen a taco wrapped and presented this way, and it made it so easy to eat. Every taco was delicious and packed with flavor and meat. Very friendly staff and some self serve drinks and condiments.
Shawn S — Google review
Best authentic Mexican food! The tacos are always delicious, and the churros are made fresh, they’re absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is very lively and happy, making it such a fun place to eat. Sometimes it does get pretty busy, but it’s definitely worth the wait. Every time we’re in town, we make sure to stop by. We love this place! 🌮❤️

I’ve been hearing about this place so I stopped to try it out. I have it a 4 star because the first taco I tried was Al Pastor. I did. It like that mix with the pineapples. It was ok. Next I tried carne Asada. This taco was really good. 5 stars. Fresh and delicious. The I had a Burrito. Carne Asada. One the best burrito I have ever eaten. Freshly made. The wait wasn’t bad. Place was packed. There’s a backyard too for seating

Taco Stand never disappoints!! Well worth the wait. My fave is the Pollo Asado burrito, add cheese. The chips and guac are amazing/fresh, and the salsa bar is stacked. Taylor provided excellent service today!

Ibheard this place was good, so had to try it out. Tried the al pastor, Carne asada, and the grilled pollo. All pretty good. Not great, but definitely better than a lot of taco trucks I have had.

Taco Stand basically remains undefeated for price vs quality Mexican taco stand classics. Authentic and hot, served fresh. Plus an amazing lineup of sauces and salsas. Get the Mar y Tierra fries for a great combo of everything - or a California Burrito for a good time.
Jacob M — Google review
This place is amazing. Just go!!! Chips and fresh tortillas are the best I’ve ever had! Guac was awesome and the salsa bar has plenty to choose from to keep it simple or keep it spicy! Shrimp and carne asada were totally worth it. Super good food. Long line for lunch, but long lines means good food. The service was quick and super friendly!

If you're searching for authentic taco flavor in Encinitas, this stand is a must-visit. Each bite transports you straight to Mexico with its perfectly seasoned meats and fresh, vibrant toppings. The tortillas are soft and flavorful, complementing the rich fillings beautifully. It's a genuine taste of traditional tacos, proving that sometimes, the simplest spots offer the most profound culinary experiences.

Coffee shop

Cafe
Better Buzz Coffee Encinitas is a trendy and charming coffee shop located in downtown Encinitas. The cafe boasts a chic rustic design with communal workbenches, aqua tones, and white brick walls. Its garage door windows allow gentle coastal breezes to sweep through the building, creating a delightful atmosphere. This spot is perfect for daytime meetings, coffee dates, or solo study sessions. Better Buzz offers an array of creative coffee beverages, delicious sandwiches, acai bowls, and other brunch fare.
I made a quick shop at the Cake House and wanted a morning coffee. Better Buzz was right across the street and looked like a good place for a brew. Plenty of tables and seating for those who want to enjoy their brew at the shop. The coffee shop was clean and inviting. The young lady that took my order was friendly and professional. I usually order a flat white but the shop didn’t offer those so I got standard latte. Foamy, thick and tasty the latte made for a good morning watching the waves at Moonlight sipping my latte and smoking a nice pre roll. I recommend Better Buzz when in the area. Tip: the benches in the parking lot above Moonlight Beach are a nice spot to enjoy your morning water or not you are 4:20 friendly.

This morning, I enjoyed another coffee date with my beautiful wife. This time, we ventured to Better Buzz Coffee located in Encinitas. We ordered the medium blend coffee ☕. My wife said the medium blend was blah. Better Buzz quickly provided her a dark roast, much better. The energetic ambience of Better Buzz wakes you up. There is good energy here, with music playing in the background. The coffee shop has large windows, which provide an open air feel. The shop is pet friendly. Parking is somewhat tricky. Yes, there is limited street parking in front, but there is also parking behind the shop. Better Buzz provided art work, so you know exactly what back door to enter. Finally, my daughter likes this coffee shop. Yes, I plan to enjoy more coffee here, and you as well should come and enjoy a cup ☕.
Michael R — Google review
I had high hopes for this coffee shop, based on all the reviews I had read, the online hype, the long lines, and the general Buzzy atmosphere, as well as the polished and unique aesthetic. I ordered the horchata cold brew, and sadly was disappointed. I don’t know how to describe it, but I have traveled to almost 50 countries to drink coffees from all around the world, and the coffee here just tasted very disappointing, very flat, and just very cheap. I didn’t enjoy the taste of the flavoring they had used in my drink, And perhaps worst of all, I wanted to order one of their famous breakfast burritos, but they were actually out of tortillas. I mean, being out of tortillas in this region of California is actually pretty crazy to think about. I would definitely not come here again, it just felt like a Starbucks with a different coat of paint on it, very solace, very lacking flavor, however, I really enjoyed how nice the staff was, and it did seem like a great place to work.
Brent T — Google review
Great coffee and food options! Love their early hours! Very friendly staff that were welcoming even at 5AM.
Jess E — Google review
Tried three different drinks and all of them were way too sweet for our taste. We couldn’t finish them. That said, if you’re into super sweet drinks, this place might be right up your alley. Staff was nice and the vibe was good, just not our kind of flavor.
Lisset L — Google review
I visit this location weekly, and I was genuinely surprised that it took 15 minutes to receive my drink. For the price, I could easily make my own coffee at home and work from the library instead. My drink was left sitting on the back counter instead of being placed on the pickup shelf, so I was left wondering where it was. When I finally received it, my hot coffee was already cold. The barista kindly offered to remake it, which I appreciated, but by that point, 20 minutes had passed. I’m not looking for anyone to be reprimanded — I simply ask that drinks be placed on the pickup shelf or that names be clearly called when orders are ready. The current system clearly isn’t working and wastes customers’ time. This is the only location I still visit in San Diego County after previous negative experiences elsewhere, including management ignoring serious issues with aggressive patrons. Please address this problem, or I’ll have to take my business elsewhere.

We live a little inland so love coming here in the summer for a cooler day at the park. Great variety of climbing, swinging and slide. My kids love the monkey bars here cause there's a set lower in height where they can build their muscles trying to do theonley bars without worrying about getting hurt.

Very nice, well kept park. Pretty large area. Small concrete skate park and some fields etc, really cool playground that is covered. There's also a tucked away dog park.
John F — Google review
Nice park, but the people with dogs treat the entire park like a dog park because there is a specified dog park within. Many people have their dogs off their leashes where it is clearly marked that you should have the pet leashed. I just say this to warn anyone with a dog in training or aggressive towards other dogs. You may have yours leashed and safe if it's not socialized, but these people are asking for trouble by not having their dogs leashed where they should. Other than that, it's a great park.

We’ve driven past this park so many times seeing the large flower shade over the playground from the freeway. I love that they added this shade covering because on a warm day, the playgrounds would quickly get very hot without them. The ropes course structures were a huge hit with the older kids at the park but my son is still too little to maneuver around them so we spend most of our time on the swings and slides. My son was inspired after watching the people at the skate park and turned into a little skater himself and had fun wiggling around on the little skateboard bouncer at the playground. I love that the park is so clean and there is so much room for kids to run and ride bikes! 📍425 Santa Fe Dr, Encinitas, CA 92024 🚙Free parking in lot 💰This park is free 🎠The play structures and swings (standard & bucket swings) are built on a rubber ground surface with a large shaded canopy overhead 🚽Restrooms 🧺Multiple picnic tables 🍔Charcoal grills 🪑Park benches at playground 🖼Huge lawns 🌳Not a whole lot of trees 🌟Clean grounds 🛣Far from busy roads 🚲Paved path perfect for small bikes, scooters, roller blades, or a stroller jog 🐶Dog park 🛹Skate park ⚾️Baseball fields ⚽️Soccer fields

This modern spa offers a range of traditional treatments such as facials and massages, alongside holistic healing services provided by healers, mystics, and yogis. The tranquil setting includes bungalows, a Balinese-inspired bale over a koi pond with a waterfall, a Hammam room, and a serene courtyard.
Consistently my favorite place in San Diego to get a massage! I love the property itself. It's a lovely place to enjoy a cup of tea between services. Four Moons customer service is also always fantastic and worked with me to get the exact order and timing of my services perfect. My massage therapist, Sonserai, was amazing, professional, communicative, and skilled to the nines!

What I thought would be a unique facial turned into something so much more profound. It was more like a healing ritual. From the moment I arrived, Marlena created a sacred space that allowed me to fully relax & receive treatment. Her combination of the buccal massage technique with the sculpt & lift + custom facial was masterful, but it was her presence that made all the difference. The buccal massage itself was revelatory, and the way Marlena worked her magick created layers of release I didn't know I needed. I left feeling renewed both physically & energetically. Marlena is more than a skilled esthetician, she is a healer & an alchemist! Thank you, Marlena for sharing your gift & for the beautiful energy you brought to our session. I look forward to returning to your table in the near future.

I had the most amazing time celebrating my birthday at Four Moons Spa! From start to finish, the experience was truly special. The atmosphere is serene and beautiful, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. I started with a massage, which was incredibly soothing and just what I needed. The therapist was skilled and attentive, making sure I was comfortable the entire time. Next, I had a medium reading with Kim, and she was absolutely delightful! She has such a warm presence and made the session feel personal and insightful. It was such a unique and special part of my visit. The hammam bath was an absolute highlight—my skin feels so incredibly soft! It was a luxurious, deeply cleansing experience that left me feeling refreshed and glowing. I also got a facial, which was equally fantastic. My skin feels nourished and radiant, and the esthetician was knowledgeable and gentle. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday treat. If you're looking for a place to relax, rejuvenate, and feel completely pampered, I highly recommend Four Moons Spa! I’ll definitely be back.

Robie was so great getting me set up for the day and telling me about the property and the koi fish. I will definitely be back.

Stopped by Four Moons after seeing reviews online as I was on my way to San Diego! I stopped by on a weekday so it wasn’t super busy. I opted for a sauna and soak and left feeling very relaxed! It was nice to have that section of the spa to myself for privacy (it also may have been late in the day). I also appreciated the offer for tea while soaking! The staff was overall very friendly and helpful. They let me hang around for a few after my time ended and I didn’t feel as if I had to rush out asap.
Nadine — Google review
First time visitor to Four Moons Spa. I wanted to give this spa a glowing review but it is in need of a refresh. First the good: the massage I had was really good as was the "Head Trip" add-on service. The oils smelled amazing! The staff was friendly. The Bali inspired vibe outdoors is relaxing as well as sitting next to the waterfall and Koi Pond. I was offered hot tea after my massage which was nice…. but my friend (who came with me) was not offered tea after her treatment and had to ask for it (strange). It was definitely a perk that Four Moons allowed my friend and I to bring our lunch and drinks to hang out at the spa after our treatments. They offer sound baths and other services that I would have liked to try. From a marketing standpoint and to help get repeat customers - I offer the following suggestions to the owners: signage from the parking lot that points towards the front desk would be good. The gift shop had some really nice merchandise but it would be even better if more product testers were set out so that customers can smell or try the products on their skin. Most of the daybed wood has been weathered from being outdoors and needs a fresh coat of stain or paint to refresh the ambiance. Same thing for some of the linens on the daybed and cushions in the swing chairs. Found out that you only get a robe and lockers if you book multiple treatments. Why not let every customer feel special when coming to your spa by issuing a robe to hang out in after the treatments? I was in the rose quartz room, which was OK. But when I got off the massage table to get dressed, I noticed the door to the room was half way open because there was a industrial white tubing going out the door from the air conditioner. This was unsightly as well as the lack of privacy getting dressed was concerning. In the gift shop, there was a strong smell of mothballs. Not exactly the smell you expect when you walk into a spa!! I was told that it was mosquito repellent. I think citronella would be better scent than mothballs! All in all I give Four Moons Spa a 7 out of 10. With a little attention to details and sprucing up old linens - this place could really be a 10!

Water & Amusement Parks
LEGOLAND California Resort is a vibrant destination in Carlsbad, California, just north of San Diego. The resort features a lively hotel with LEGO-themed quarters and amenities like dining, an outdoor pool, and complimentary breakfast. The hands-on theme park offers over 60 themed rides and interactive attractions for kids aged two to twelve. Additionally, the SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND Water Park provide entertainment for the entire family.
We had such a great time. I feel its better than the zoo and maybe even Sea World. We'll at least for a 4 year old. The employees are really kind young kids, which gives me hope for the future. A young man named Juan even rode with my daughter, because we waited in line and it was just me and a 6 month old, so I wasn't able to go. He really made my daughter's day. That was so kind. The pizza, pasta and salad buffet was great. Had nice outdoor seating too. The Trick-or-Treating even was awesome. They gave out huge bags of candy that I saw all parents eating 😀. There are a ton of really neat parks with big slides and all sorts of fun stuff for them to climb on. A great way for parents to get a little rest in. We will definitely be back!!

We had such a great time at LEGOLAND! There are so many fun things to see and do — way more than I expected. The creativity behind all the LEGO designs and attractions is amazing, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The aquarium is definitely worth visiting — it was one of my favorite parts of the day! There’s a great variety of animals and it’s really well done. However, the park really needs better maintenance. A lot of things were dusty, faded, or missing pieces, some water features weren’t working, and a few attractions were closed. It’s still a fun experience, but I’d love to come back when everything’s fully restored and running at 100%!

We had a good time at Legoland. Parents, grandparents and a 2 1/5 year old. Place was clean and employees were nice. I gave them 3 stars because so much of the park needs maintenance. The mini city section was a big disappointment. Buttons to make things move - most did not work. Much of the display was broken and in need of repair. The map on the app was not updated and we took a long walk to avoid the construction because the app is not updated. The park was pretty much empty but on most attractions we had to walk through all of the long queues instead of just letting us skip the lines. We were also surprised that we only saw two characters out in 2 days of walking around the park. Our grandson had fun building and playing in the toddler area. The aquarium was quite a hit!

First time Vacation at Legoland! We had our 8, 7 and 3 year old and my in laws with their 3 year old. I would say that this theme park is definitely for under 10 unless your kids love more action/activities then it might not be for them. Let me say this...Lego masterpieces everywhere!!!!! Amazing how all was put together to show a little of everything. We started our Sunday with Sealife and then headed to the Brick or Treat event. Kids were dressed up and they were given small bags for candies. Now the candy stations (less than 10 stations) were in certain areas and at times a little confusing with everything that was going on. I feel like it would be nice and easier if candies were to be handed out in front of the rides but thats just me. There was no waiting times during our Sunday night. They were able to get into a few rides as well as enjoying the lego art. Monday visit was a bit more busy and humid. We waited almost 20-30 minutes for the roller coaster and the duplo train ride. Other rides were less than 10 minutes. Most rides that include parents with young children have a weight limit of 330 pounds for the seat. Luckily we were able to take turns and enjoy some rides with our boys. Like i had said previously the rides are definitely for younger kids and they only last maybe less than 2 minutes and have little to no motion. My two older boys enjoyed the roller coaster and the ride that goes up and down(its in my pictures). We did a few family group rides like the big boat ride that takes you along the lake, the duplo train, and the submarine ride. We also bought the 2 day cup and the popcorn bucket but unlike other theme parks, the freestyle machines were not everywhere so it was pointless and the popcorn bucket was only refillable at that kiosk from what we saw because we asked around a few places and those places had no popcorn. The one thing that I don't know how to take it as is at this lego car exhibit my brother in law took my boys to see the car and apparently as soon as they went in the male employee there told him- that there was nothing exciting to see and dont waste your time there and instead go on the rides- so whatever his intentions were we'll never know but my son loves hot wheels so he was interested in looking at that car. So now that I pointed out my experiences I want to say that we had fun, and a few meh moments and for us it was a one time thing. Staff was friendly in the park and hotel.

Title: Not Worth the Price — Disappointing Stay for $700 a Night I booked a fully themed “Friends” room at Legoland Hotel California to celebrate my grandchild’s birthday one November 1, 2025 for one Night. Honestly, for the $700 I paid for one night, it was not worth it. I hope this review helps anyone deciding whether to book here. The room was very small and felt extremely crowded. We were given one king bed, plus a bunk bed and a pull-out bed, which sounds great but left almost no space to move around. The furniture looked old-fashioned and worn out — some pieces were chipped, the wallpaper was scratched, and parts were even peeling off. Around 4 a.m., I tried turning on the TV, but it wasn’t working. The screen said to call the cable operator, so I contacted the front desk. They told me I had to wait until 7 a.m. for someone to come in and call the company. The room was generally clean, but it was clear that cleaning was only done on the surface — not in detail. I have asthma, and I could feel dust irritation right away. Also, please note: the photos you see online when booking are not what the rooms actually look like. The hotel’s biggest advantage is that it’s right next to the park, which is convenient, but honestly, you’re better off staying at one of the nearby hotels that offer more space and comfort — especially if you’re traveling with kids.

I had a great time at Legoland with my family! The park was full of color, creativity, and fun activities for everyone. My son absolutely loved it — from the Lego-themed rides to building his own creations, he didn’t stop smiling the whole day. The miniature Lego cities were amazing to see up close, and we all enjoyed exploring together. It was such a wonderful family day out, and we’re already talking about going back!

We came here mid-day on a Monday October 6, 2025. Legoland is located in sunny Carlsbad, California. There is a very big parking area and rates start from $36.00 for regular all day parking. There is even vallet parking which will cost you a pretty penny. When we arrived the lady at the front counter was informative, friendly and professional. Buy your tickets online if possible. It's way cheaper than paying at the ticket counter. Once we got through the entrance, we noticed the park is clean and well kept. The Legoland park is big. Lots to see and do. As it is October the theme park has a bunch of Halloween decorations up currently. The park is attached to the hotel resort. A single night in a hotel room will run you upwards of $300.00 or more. The rooms are based on themes. My family and I made our first stop at the Pizza and Pasta buffet having skipped breakfast and snacks and drove for over an hour on the I 5. It cost $76 for a family of three. The pizza and pasta are bottomless as well as the soda pop. After lunch we set out to see the sights. I knew the park was big but I wasn't aware how massive and spread out the property really is. I have including a pic of the park's map in this review. Too many places to name. The boat ride around miniature land is amazing and I totally recommend checking out Legoland Movie World and taking a ride on Emmet's Flying Adventure. It's basically a large screen simulator with immersive features such as spraying mist and drizzle as you and your family fly through the clouds. I would recommend coming early so you can make the most of this magical adventure. 5 stars 💫💫💫💫💫Enjoy!

Restaurant
Cardiff Seaside Market is a renowned gourmet grocery store located in the beach community of Cardiff, San Diego. It offers a wide selection of prepared foods, including the popular BBQ Burgundy Pepper Tri Tip on a brioche bun. The market resembles a combination of Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, offering fresh produce and quick-order kitchen options. Visitors can enjoy outdoor dining while indulging in delicious meals such as the Cali breakfast burrito or Philly cheesesteak.
Maybe one of the nicest grocery stores I've been in. The selection was great, the produce was super fresh, and the market food was so good. We obviously tried the Cardiff Crack and we're not disappointed. For anyone that's had trip tip before, this was maybe the most tender and juicy cuts I've had. Not over seasoned and still so tasty. Would it be weird to consider moving to a city for it's grocery stores?

This is probably one of the best markets I've been, better than erewhon ( my opinion) great wine wall, with awesome prices ( special 6 bottle 10%discount) the meat department a 10 ....produce 10....I would go every day if I lived closer

This market is quite an experience. If you are in the area, you must check it out. The selection, presentation, and the quality is worth the trip. They have an extensive selection of high quality produce, wines, steaks, seafood, deli meats, salads, cheeses, craft beers, bottled water, baked goods, fresh ready to cook meals, and then there's the Cardiff "Crack" (the best marinated tri tip you will ever have). There is too much to list. You have to go for yourself.

I haven’t been here in 15 years so I thought I’d stop in and see if it was still as good as it was back in the day. It was absolutely amazing. Great food with great people.

Lots of variety of delicious food at the Cardiff Seaside Market. Nice seafood, meat, and produce. Great selection of food to go, like sushi, sandwiches and more. Friendly and helpful staff. Recommend!

I was picking up a catering order (for another friend) for a baby shower. The Tri-Tip sandwiches were incredible—so good. Saturday morning, around 10:30, the parking lot (small & tight) was full, as was the store. The service was quick & they were helpful when I asked some questions. I'm not local, but quickly understood why the food & store were so busy & popular. What a fantastic gem.
Karen P — Google review
I have traveled to over 50 countries, and I can confidently say that this is the best grocery store in the world. Where do even begin, first the selection of the food in the deli is absolutely incredible. Everything is so fresh, and walnut cheap, it is priced adequately for California. First, we ordered the tri-tip crack, brisket burrito, and it was easily the best brisket burrito I’ve ever had in my entire life. All the ingredients were fresh, delicious, but the tri-tip steak was a work of art. I don’t think I have ever had such tender, melts in your mouth, buttery, beef, ever in a burrito. If I lived here, I would order the burrito, every single week. After that, we still were hungry, so we decided to try the grilled tuna sandwich from the outside barbecue truck, and wow, for a pretty fair price, we had an absolutely delicious, tender, and flavorful piece of tuna, on top of arugula, and a very fluffy and big brioche bun, with some fresh cut tomatoes. This thing was a work of our art, and was an absolute delight to eat.after that, we wanted around the store and bought some cool snacks and bake items, because it selection is truly out of control. I love this place so much and can’t wait to come back, and just because it’s a grocery store, you should definitely pay a visit

Toms of pastries when you first enter. Also excellent meats including the Cardiff crack tie tip sandwich that you. A get from outside tent. They have a really good cut mango in a large container - mango is crisp, crunchy and comes with taijin. Good beach snack!

Encinitas Fish Shop is a beloved seafood eatery in Southern California, popular among both locals and tourists. The menu offers a variety of fresh seafood options, allowing guests to customize their tacos, sandwiches, salads, or plates by choosing their preferred fish, sides, and marinades. One of the highlights is the renowned TKO taco featuring grilled mahi-mahi with special seasoning and mango salsa.
This place made me so happy! Half laid-back bar, half cute seafood counter so you can pick your fish and style it your way. We sat outside with our pup, enjoyed crispy coconut shrimp, and devoured the fish and chips (snapper was my fave). Sweet, crunchy, beachy perfection. I already know what I’m trying next time: surf and turf tacos!

We were brought to this restaurant by locals who visit it often. It certainly met expectations. As you enter, you walk up to the order counter, where there are about 10 choices of fish displayed in an iced chilled, glass cooler. Once you choose your preference and sides, your meal is brought to the table when ready. Service is very fast, food is well prepared, staff is courteous. I chose the halibut, grilled, with lemon butter. There are several options for sauces. The restaurant is dog friendly! Our group of 8 had no problem with seating. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Beach B — Google review
Great spot for fish tacos and plenty of options. Service was great and plenty of seating. The flavors were good but not amazing. The corn tortillas were thick and hearty but not fresh. The Taco Stand down the street serves authentic Mexican tacos and this place served more “gringo” versions. 6 pieces of shrimp seemed too little. Very flavorful.
Marcus C — Google review
Food was good for sure. Visiting from out of town and I wanted to bring my family over to try something local, and this won out the competition based on others' reviews. The service was so-so as it felt more of a fast casual restaurant akin to a Panera than a sit down restaurant. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but that's what it's like. Overall, if I'm in the area again, I might go here again.
Boredom N — Google review
Low gps was not helpful in finding this restaurant. But, it's easy to spot the sign. I ordered a mahi corn tortilla taco and a jumbo shrimp taco online for pick up and it was ready quickly. I'm glad because it was the best taco ever. It was my first time and I look forward to coming back.

Had some fish tacos and my friend had the sea bass plate. Her kid had the kids meal of coconut shrimp and we shared the onion rings. All and all, it was a fine meal. Nice staff. You order at the counter.

Awesome ambiance. Food is absolutely delicious, the Clam Chowder soup is insane! but some items are a bit pricey but worth it, like the elote taco. No sit down service, order at counter and they will bring your food to you.

The Roxy Encinitas is a trendy restaurant in downtown Encinitas that offers a unique vintage ambiance with its 1920s theme. This popular establishment features antique decor and serves a diverse range of American dishes and cocktails. The menu caters to different preferences, offering both healthy options like salads and fig crostini, as well as indulgent choices like a cheesy falafel burger and gnocchi carbonara.
This place was awesome. The food is great. If you like Jazz and Blues music genres, this is a soothing place to dine and enjoy yourself. We celebrated a birthday on a Sunday with 16 people, and the staff was flexible to get our party in and out with great service. The owner was friendly and engaged in conversation with our party. The band sang happy birthday to our special birthday lady. The parking is mostly in the back of the building due to the bustling activities and shops in the area. We will attend again.

I got the Roasted Salmon and it was actually really good, cooked just right with great flavor. The band music was pretty loud so it was hard to talk at times. Service was pretty slow, but the friendly waiter and solid food made up for it. Overall not bad, just be ready for a louder vibe.

Killer venue. Staff made more mistakes (plural) with orders than reasonably acceptable. Food was good, I had the burger. The live music was fire! I stayed for two musicians. Locals are very attractive 😉 and lively. Good luck keeping up! Great time. Killer live music. Good souls all around. Highly recommended.

Awful over priced drinks. The worst old fashioned my wife has ever been served (by a long shot) and two very poor espresso martinis costing a total of $60... Will never return. Stay away if you appreciate a decent cocktail...

Lively and upscale bar atmosphere. There was a terrific band at noon on Sunday that was playing super chill music. We got the Cobb salad and a few mocktails. The salad was delicious.

It's a great place to learn about the history of San Diego. I can't believe the thing they kept and preserved over the years. It's awesome to get a tour of the place as well. Male sure you bring snacks and food to enjoy while you are here.

Our your guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. You could tell she wanted to answer any question that we had. It was nice for our 1 year old to run around outside for a bit, too. Very cool artifacts and stories.

If you're seeking an unforgettable California adventure, look no further than Encinitas Surf Lessons. This surf school offers a fantastic experience for everyone, whether you prefer private or group sessions. Open daily, they provide all the necessary gear, including soft boards and wetsuits, along with essential instructions to help you catch those waves. Families will find this spot particularly delightful; one parent shared how their 7-year-old daughter had been eager to learn surfing for over a year.
Wonderful experience! The instructors were exactly what we needed for my son to get the most out of his first time surfing. I purchased a 3 pack of 90 min lessons. My son is 11 and we did 3 days in a row. His arms were really sore and tired for day 3; next time I would plan to give him a rest day after 2 lessons. It’s good to have some flexibility in your days because the instructors know the ocean and might want to change times for a better experience.
Jenn D — Google review
i am a total beginner and my instructor Eric was great! explained things nicely and taught me the basics while helping me out in the water. the waves were pretty rough at times but he still helped me balance and gave solid advice. would definitely recommend to someone wanting to take the first steps in surfing or even someone with some knowledge already!

I had an excellent surf lesson with Leah! She’s a great instructor — really easy to learn from and gave solid tips that actually made a difference. I’ve done a few lessons before, but this one helped me take things up a notch. Finally started learning how to turn on the board and caught a bunch of waves too. Highly recommend if you want to improve your surfing and have a good time out there.

Excellent experience with Encinitas Surf Lessons! Jason was great to work with and our instructor Daniel was terrific with our two 14 year old kids. Got them up on the board in no time and turned them into passionate surfers. Can't wait to go back!

My 7 year old daughter had been wanting surf lessons for over a year, and we finally booked her a lesson while on vacation. She (we) had the most positive experience! John has a natural talent for working with kids! My daughter felt safe and comfortable with John, and most importantly, she had so much fun! He was so upbeat and encouraging with her and help build her self confidence. Once we get back to Florida, surfing is something she wants to pursue further. Also, buy the GoPro footage! You will NOT be disappointed! The footage is amazing and won't come close to any pictures or videos you will get from the beach. It is far worth the extra money!
Laura M — Google review
Jason did a great job communicating and letting us know the details about our lesson. Sean was awesome! He did a great job teaching my wife, and 2 kids( 12 and 8) the ins and outs of surfing and safety. He was very patient, helpful and kept everyone smiling and safe.

Mike was the surf instructor today for my almost 9 year old son and myself (40 y/o). My son is 4'10" & about 87 lbs, and I'm 6'2" barefoot and 220 - 225 lbs, and we were both beginners having never surfed before. Mike has such a kind, pleasant, and encouraging personality. I truly couldn't have asked for a better surf instructor. He helped my son to be able to stand and ride a wave at very least seven different times, which meant everything to me. Mike's instructions prior to surfing were perfect, and I wish I would have just followed them more exactly. I was able to stand up and ride the wave for a very short while 5+ times. My son was able to ride a wave standing up all the way into the beach, which was about 50 feet riding the wave standing. It was absolutely AMAZING! Unfortunately we didn't get video of that one, but there will be other times in the future. Make sure to ask for Mike, because he has a wonderful personality, and he works so well especially with kids but also with adults. You can tell Mike is really fit, and he physically does so much to set you up perfectly for the right waves at the right times.

Whether you're a beginner or looking to brush up on your skills, Leucadia Surf School provides an enjoyable and educational environment for surfers of all levels.
Our 7 year old daughter has loved this camp! The kids actually surf the entire time, and you get to watch them feel stronger and more accomplished as the week progresses. The camp has it's own section on the beach, the instructors are fun and teach them proper technique, and the boards they provide are perfect for these ages and waves. She's all smiles at pick-up each day, and her love of surfing is taking root. We'll definitely be signing back up!

My son thoroughly enjoyed his time with the skilled instructors at Leucadia Surf. Gerry and the team's expertise ensured a fantastic surfing experience. Their focus on private lessons with a limited number of kids sets them apart from other groups, which often have overcrowded classes and limited instructor attention. You'll be amazed how quickly you'll grasp surfing with just few hours of instruction!

Currently running from Cardiff to Chesterfield Dr in Cardiff by the Sea, it's being expanded to connect Carlsbad to Solana Beach.
Del Mar Sunset – One of San Diego’s Most Breathtaking Views Watching the sun slowly sink into the ocean from the edge of a cliff is an unforgettable experience. What makes this spot even more special is the train emerging from the mist, creating a dreamy, cinematic moment against the backdrop of the Pacific. Lots of dogs were on leash, unfortunately some owners do let their dogs get in your personal space but otherwise everyone we passed seemed very polite. Great views of the beach.

I walk, run, and roller skate this trail all the time. It runs parallel to the 101 but is elevated, so the ocean views are incredible. It runs from just above Swami's in Encinitas to Chesterfield Dr in Cardiff by the Sea. Right now the flowers are blooming along the trail and it is the best time of year to check this trail out.

Leucadia State Beach, also known as Beacon's Beach, is a compact sandy shoreline located north of downtown Encinitas. It consists of two beautiful beaches, Grandview and Beacons. Access to the beach can be challenging for those unfamiliar with the area due to its three entry points along Neptune Avenue. The beach is somewhat secluded with limited parking and no facilities, making it an almost private spot for beachgoers. Visitors should be prepared to climb down a steep bluff to reach the shore.
The Leucadia State Beach is a great place to be. It is ideally for surfing, swimming and jogging. It has parking slots available and easy to access. The beaches are endless, very clean and comfortable. Unfortunately not accessible for elderly or handicapped people. Therefore only 4 stars.

I had not been here since a few weeks but when I visited today (Aug 22) it looked fantastic. The path is hugely improved making it much easier and saver trail for everyone. Even at the bottom of the path are now sturdy steps instead of these huge pebbles that were always a hassle to walk over. Very nice! Great spot to chill on the beach or start a beach walk. Going in south direction will get you furthest. Going up north you need to have low tide to make it to Grandview with just your feet wet. Check the tide schedule. Trust me on this. I learned the hard way. Limited (free) parking currently but there are plans to remove parking to protect the bluff. Limited street parking available. Expect to park closer to the 101

Cute little beach, access was rough with getting up and down the hill but it was still a cute spot. The kids insisted the beach was fine in the wind and rain 🤣

The best part of the Pacific Ocean in this area. Come to watch surfers ride the waves, scale craggy cliffs, get breathtaking views of the ocean at sunrise or sunset, and on Thursdays, be ready for an incredible celebration in the parking lot around sunset-time. This area teaches us to value every day and celebrate life! The ocean and her mystery go on being beautiful whether we notice or not; let's slow down to take time to catch at least one or two visits of the sun sinking to the horizon's edge, the ever changing sky and clouds, and luminiscent water at Beacons. Friendly to four-legged and two-legged beings of all ages. This place absolutely rocks in its beauty and energy!

I’ve dubbed this place my beach paradise. One of my favorite beaches in the world. The quintessential laidback so cal vibe. I grew up here and this stretch of coast is a magical place for surfers, families or nature lovers. Be aware at hide tide there may not be any sand. Access may not be available for mobility impaired. As always please respect the beach and the locals.

Beach was amazing very clean. I would recommend shoes for the rocks at the bottom of the steps.
Mark H — Google review
This was a nice little beach to chill on and watch the sunset. There are several switchbacks to get down to it so it’s not very fun to come back up but it helps it be not as crowded lol. With it being a lot lower than parking lot, it also makes it a more secluded chill beach which I liked. The sand is super soft and plenty of space to set out some chairs or a blanket. My only complaint was that the sand was infested with these little jumping bug things? I’m not a local so I’m not sure what they were but they were gross😂 if you stay on your blanket, it’s not too bad.

It's always a beautiful day at Beacan's.. I could see to La Jolla to San Clemente. It's been a while since I took this route home.. Altho the trek down to the beach takes a few minutes it's well worth it. When on the beach stay away from the cliffs... Enjoy your walk.

Located in Encinitas, the ICA San Diego / North is a museum and working studio showcasing modern works by internationally recognized artists. It is considered a hidden gem in Southern California, along with other attractions like the San Diego Botanic Garden and Heritage Ranch. The museum also serves as a dream wedding venue with its beautiful garden terrace and flexible setup options. Visitors praise its beautifully designed space that hosts art-centric events and even has an artist suite in residence.
ICA was a dream for our wedding venue!! We can’t say enough about this local contemporary art museum, as well as Victor & Sarah who helped us coordinate the best day of our lives! My wife & I live nearby and always knew ICA was a hidden gem in the Encinitas area – after visiting & speaking with Victor, we knew it was the perfect spot for our wedding day and it exceeded our expectations. The garden terrace is beautiful, well laid out, and provides enough flexibility to offer various options for setup. Also, the BEST PART is that access to the lower art gallery is included, so our guests were able to enjoy the amazing local art by Taylor Chapin. It provided a unique experience for our guests, something that we will certainly never forget. Victor & Sarah were such a pleasure to work with – they were flexible, punctual, and provided enough guidance while still encouraging us to make the venue our own. We would suggest reaching out to the ICA team for your next event – you won’t be disappointed!!
Reed B — Google review
It is so hard to write this review! I had my wedding at ICA North on June 29, 2024. You want every review you write for your wedding to be a 5 star, but here I am struggling to leave 3. At the end of the day, the venue looked beautiful during our wedding, but leading up to the wedding was unnecessarily stressful and complicated. When we originally toured, the gallery was set up with artwork. We were told we could reach out a month or two before our date to find out what artist would be displayed during our wedding. This was a huge selling point for us - we wanted to have a nearly fully outdoor wedding but loved that there would be a cool, interactive, indoor area where our guests could take a break from the wedding and enjoy the art. About 3 months before our date, we learn there would not be ANY art on our wedding date. Apparently, they decided not to have any art due to hosting summer camps at that time. Thus, the gallery area was essentially just an undecorated concrete box. This was super disappointing. To us, the venue price ($5,000) was worth it in part because of the art/galley - without that, it felt a little steep. We had originally planned to have guests enter through the gallery, but we had to rework our layout to have them enter through the back as we did not want them to enter through a random concrete room and we did not have the money/time/interest in decorating the room. Guests still ended up seeing the room as the bathrooms were in there. Overall very disappointing. Our point person for communication changed about 3 times. The first person was a staff member at ICA and made us feel confident in ICA. He went on leave and we started working with a different staff person, and there was a huge disconnect. For example, on 2 occasions, we made an appointment via email to come visit the space to show our vendors, yet when we got there, no one expected us, and the people there were a little put off by us being there/seemed like we were not supposed to be there. It was like the person we were emailing with was not communicating with any other staff. About a month before the wedding, a third person became our point of contact. She was a third-party contractor/consultant. While it seemed like she had significant experience with events, it did not feel like she was "boots on the ground" at the venue - she was sort of like a middle man between us and the people actually at the venue. Also, she sent us a list of things she needed asap about 4 weeks out from the wedding (which is a stressful time!), which had never been requested before. They were all fair requests, but the list of things should have been sent to us further in advance - it almost felt like she thought we were late in submitting them even though they had not yet been requested. I asked for a venue layout a few months out to start passing out to vendors. The layout I was sent conflicted with what the original staff member had told me re outlets (the staff member said there were multiple outside, the layout showed none outside). The person who sent it did not know if there were any outside. About 2 weeks out from the wedding, I was sent a new layout, that did show outlets outside. This caused unnecessary stress as I was trying to figure out how to get enough extension cords for all of my vendors to use indoor outlets even though they were all setting up outside. I had a few personal touches that I planned to set up, including a photo display. I also needed to drop off a bunch of stuff day of. I asked to get to the venue at 10am day of. I explained that time was of the essence (as it was my actual wedding day and I needed to get ready shortly thereafter) and confirmed via phone and email that 10am worked and staff would be there to let me in. On the day of, I showed up at 10am with my parents and now in-laws and no one was there. I called the third-party contractor point person and she had to start calling staff. We ultimately waited over half an hour before someone arrived to let us in. Not how you want to start your wedding day!

Small museum that achieves big dreams. Schedule a visit - it is worth it - and there is a lot to see and do. The first building is for artist exhibits, a ceramic workshop, class rooms, and outdoor activities. The the second building, up the hill, is a gallery for the artist in residence.

We had the pleasure of getting married at the ICA San Diego - North campus, and it was a wonderful experience! The events team — Victor, Martín, and especially Derin (we’ll never forget when she played bossanova to help us keep calm before the ceremony started!)— were thoughtful, kind, accommodating hosts. From the beginning, we knew that unfortunately there would not be an exhibit up during our event, but we were able to set up our own decorations without a hitch. Our planner was able to help coordinate a walk through with ICA folks along with our catering team which was helpful, and we were able to plan droping off decor in advance during our rehearsal, which helped so much day of! They also worked fabulously with our other vendors to make sure everyone was set up well for the event. It’s an incredibly special venue and our guests (especially local guests) were so happy to be introduced to a new art space in San Diego. We would strongly recommend the ICA San Diego - North campus for any private events!

Great little gallery that plays host to a good amount of art-centric events. Beautifully designed, inspiring space that actually has an artist suite in residence. Not something you'd think to see in SD. Can't wait to see what they do in the future, as they plan to expand the campus up onto the hill. Considered them for a potential event venue, but had to pass due to size. They were very accommodating and quick to respond.

A creek runs through the park with bridges adding to its tranquil atmosphere. Visitors can also find BBQ grills, walking trails, and restrooms on-site.
This is such a great park. Great for all ages, and lots of activities spread about the park. It's great. It has a fun rock to climb, basketball and tennis courts, a large playground, a walking path, plenty of shade if you need to escape the sun, and fairly clean community bathrooms. It does have some homeless people who are scattered about, but I would consider this park pretty clean and safe. Plus, this is a great spot to host parties in public spaces.

Cottonwood Park in Encinitas is absolutely delightful. It has a riparian stream that was formerly up until 1932 the soul water source for the small city of. In the 1980s they began work to turn this piece of land into the lovely neighborhood park that it is today. Lots of options available from barbecuing parties tennis court large playground walking trails educational and historical monuments. biggest complaint is that the parking has zero shade Android limited handicap parking

Beautiful with plenty of picnic space (covered tables and grassy knolls) and bathrooms. Tennis courts and pickleball nice enough - but pickleball community doesn't have rotation, people are allowed to stay on the courts 1-2 ho7rs or so even with people waiting. Wild west there. Homeless people seem to hang out but not in large numbers... we liked walking our dogs there and the water fountains work.

Cottonwood Creek Park is a charming place to for a picnic! It was incredibly busy on a Tuesday morning with mommy & me music and yoga classes on the lawns, preschool groups, and other families playing on the playground. There is a well-maintained dirt trail that runs along the creek for about 1/4 of a mile. It continues on to a less-maintained dirt trail that runs right along the 5 freeway so that part makes it not a very tranquil walk. This part of the trail is undergoing maintenance so it looks like a mess right now. When the habitat restoration is complete, it will be a lot more enjoyable. I took our Bob jogging stroller on it but because there is so much debris on the trail it was very bumpy with a stroller. Total distance of the trail is about 3/4 of a mile. 📍95 N Vulcan Ave, Encinitas, CA 92024 🚙Limited free parking in lot & on the street 💰This park is free 🎠The play structure has a rubber/san ground surface and there are both standard and bucket swings 🚽Restrooms 🧺Picnic tables scattered around the park. This small park is a great spot to relax and spend a little time with your pup and family. Tennis/Pickle ball courts if you're into that, playground for the littles with plenty of surrounding lawn to grab a little shade and enjoy. With bridges over and near the little creek, nature walking through this park is relaxing and enjoyable. Close to the beach yet tucked away in your own little environment to be away. 1 Gazebo Covered Picnic Space Dog friendly Parking lot is small.

Dave's Rock Garden in Encinitas is a stunning oasis created by Dave Dean, who transformed a vacant state-owned lot into a beautiful rock garden filled with cactus, bromeliads, and other drought-resistant plants. The garden features walking paths lined with smooth stones and over 7000 vibrantly painted rocks contributed by locals and travelers from around the world. Inspired by an artist from Arizona, the garden reflects a diverse collection of cultures and artistic expressions.
What an amazing find! We stumbled by this place today and definitely recommend you check it out. Met Dave, who explained how it all started. He said they now have about 8000 rocks. You can also paint your own rock and add it to the collection. This place is very well taken care of by Dave himself. No cost to visit. There is a donation box also in case you would like to contribute.

Very Rad!! Love this beautiful peaceful garden.... shared to the public. It is for Adults really! Please don't let kids grab the rocks. Just look! Don't touch. Great idea for neighborhoods all over. Austin needs one. SanDeigo has more morally responsible people. The rocks could get stolen in Texas. I love this beach. I am 51. My childhood was filled with memories of this beach my grandparents lived near. We all were boogie boarding late 70s 80s here. Moonlight Beach, my grandmother could catch whale tails with her big camera from the cliff yard. Beautiful. Now 5 generations of my family have been to my favorite beach.. This is a great addition!

Olympus Park is an absolute gem, especially if you're looking for a place where kids can truly burn off some energy! We had such a fantastic time, and it quickly became a favorite for our family. While the whole park is thoughtfully designed with diverse play areas and even a reflexology path, the undisputed highlight for us was the artificial grass hill. It's pure genius! Kids were gleefully "sledding" down it with cardboard, rolling, or just running up and down, completely enchanted by the soft, springy surface. It offers all the fun of a natural hill without the dirt and grass stains, making for endless, exhilarating play. Beyond the incredible hill, the park boasts a fantastic playground with a variety of swings, slides, and climbing structures, ensuring there's something for every age. It's a vibrant, clean, and well-maintained space that truly encourages active, imaginative play. Olympus Park is definitely a must-visit for families in the San Diego area!

Such a fun park! We visited today from Oceanside and had a blast with our 3 yo Plenty of cardboard for sliding down the synthetic turf hill. It’s steep and can be intimidating but surprisingly no accidents while we were there and it was a little crowded. Plenty of space to roam around freely. The pump/skate section looked fun as well. My only complaint would be the parking, there were signs posted by residents who I assume are not happy about the influx of traffic.

Overall IMO it's a great family/kid friendly area in a great neighborhood!

No fence at all, so your pup has to be well-trained. Beautiful open area on a steep hillside with an ocean view. Secluded area, not visible from the street. Some sort of trail behind it. Dogs don't seem to care about heading up the hill, toward the (not busy) street, thankfully. Grassy park, lots of shade trees, benches, covered picnic tables, water fountain, trash and poop bags. Small fence around a nice playground. NO restrooms, street parking.

The 1 hour alchemy crystal bowl sound bath at Sacred Sound of the Soul was incredibly grounding and relaxing. I am fighting a minor infection at the moment and I felt a surge of energy as the experience was coming to a close. Noriko is very gifted at blending the singing with gentle gonging of the bowls. I would have like them to be mic-ed for a little more amplification (my mat was at the perimeter of the room). First-time visitor the first week of December, and the first thing that grabs you is the mature Poinsettia tree in full bloom. That’s worth the visit all by itself. Did I say Poinsettia? They had a number of varieties available in different pot sizes, and traditional and tree varieties up to 5 ft. They had a nice selection of other things given the time of year, including winter color, Tillandsia, and decorative items. I’d love to come in Spring. So definitely 5 star material, except for accessibility issues. Be aware of a steep incline from the parking area to the sales area, which has a concrete pathway and gravel surfaces on varying slopes. Also note that the rest room is open to the public, but it’s a very long walk, so go before you come.

Very good spot to buy some flowers. My wife is the flower person and was very impressed with the selection and prices. Nice drive for us to check it out, plus the people working there were super helpful!

Park
J Street Viewpoint is an excellent location to have a meal and appreciate the stunning vistas of the Pacific Ocean. It offers ample shade and benches for comfortable seating. The park is secluded yet conveniently accessible, providing a serene atmosphere. Additionally, it boasts cleanliness with numerous trash disposal areas available. Though there are usually some visitors present, there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy.
Such an incredible quiet lookout. It seems like most people who go are neighbors and locals. This is a great place to meditate or picnic. It does get busy but there is space to share. They also have about 7 or 8 different types of flowers, which was so nice.

Lovely viewpoint with some shady trees and picnic tables available. Nice spot to visit if your walking around historic Encinitas through 2nd street. Water fountain and trash cans. Free street parking. No restrooms.

Pelicans were flying gracefully. The overlapping waves were beautiful.

A great spot to have lunch and enjoy the beautiful views of the pacific. Lots of shade and benches to sit on. Secluded enough but easily accessible. Also very clean with plenty of places to throw trash away. Usually a few people here but there’s enough space for everyone.

WHAT A VIEW! No beach access but you can overlook the beach & waves from here. Great sunsets & free street parking.

Way up high above the surf. But you can smell the ocean from here.

Absolutely love this place! San Diego Botanic Garden is one of the most beautiful and peaceful spots I’ve ever visited. The variety of plants, walking paths, and little hidden corners make it perfect for a relaxing day out. I was so impressed, I ended up getting a yearly membership for the whole family. It’s a great spot for all ages—kids love it too. Definitely a gem in North County. Five stars without a doubt!

Beautiful gardens a mile in a mile out. Plenty of lovely trails to explore. Perfect place to bring a packed lunch and enjoy the peaceful tranquil atmosphere. Tree house for the kids. Overlook available. Multiple water features including a waterfall. Highly recommend the herb and rose gardens as well as the orchards. There is a full blown canopy and forest as well as a more desert environment. The sanctuary hosts multiple exhibitions throughout the year. There are plant sales as well as a cute gift shop to commemorate your visit. I found my new favorite place to get lost for the afternoon.

Beautiful gardens, very nice people. They have a lot of paved roads for special needs access. Plan to be there for about 3 hours, 1.5 hours, and we only saw half. Cafe at the 1/2 way point open until 3pm.

Renewed my membership and added my daughter. Since we've been enjoying visiting bathe garden again after many years absence. I used to bring my young children here all the time. They have added a large children play area and the greenhouse is gorgeous. We happened to arrive while there was an Orchids Show. For non-members there is an extra fee for this but included with membership. Encinitas has lots of orchid greenhouses and enthusiasts and the varieties of orchids on display were wonderful. We love to walk to the Bamboo garden and water lilly pond and look at the turtles Parking was busy but we could park in the overflow parking lot.

Beautiful garden spaces. Very natural and set into regions. Sitting places tbroughout. Main path paved with ability to wander into areas on dirty path.

An excellent "World of Orchid Show" during Mother's Day weekend 2025. Good weather, a kind & accommodating staff, and always a delightful garden to stroll through.

Beautiful waterfall and greenhouse. If you love plants you'll want to see this or become a member to be able to visit regularly.

What a great time exploring this park! The trails are well kept and great signage throughout. The variety of plants is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the regional areas containing their native species. You might want to bring a small pair of binoculars as there are many birds and butterflies in the park. I spent a few hours here but definitely could have stayed longer. It's a beautiful, peaceful park with plenty of benches to just sit and enjoy. I love this place!

Corner Frame Shop & Leucadia Art Gallery has been a part of the North County community for over 55 years. The shop is known for its professional design house for framing and its contribution to the Leucadia community. Customers have praised their excellent customer service, expertise in custom framing, and a diverse gallery and gift shop offering unique items like mobiles made in Denmark.
Getting artwork framed can be overwhelming, but that’s never the case at Corner Frame Shop in Leucadia. Meghan and Kelli always go above and beyond to ensure a seamless experience. Their selection is vast, and their creative eye makes it easy to find the perfect pairing for any piece. I’ve had a variety of items framed here—photographs, art prints, and paintings—and they’ve helped me achieve styles ranging from classic to eccentric and everything in between. Every time, the result is flawless. I love supporting small businesses, especially when they’re run by such kind and talented people. Corner Frame Shop is truly a gem!

THIS frame shop is absolutely excellent! I recently brought them a large piece that needed cleaning and restoration. The acrylic and/or the linen matting could have potentially needed replacing. I was at their mercy. They opened the piece up and were able to clean everything to perfection. The piece now looks incredible. I thought I was possibly facing a $1,000-$1,500 bill that ended up being $150!!! Do not hesitate! Get all your framing done at this shop!

I highly recommend visiting this frame shop. In addition to helping with custom framing needs, they also have a gallery and gift shop. I bought this mobile there and I love it. They sell an assortment of mobiles all made in Denmark. They are not very expensive and the owner was so nice to work with. Check it out and enjoy!

Wonderful place! Longtime staff are knowledgeable and helpful with their huge selection of frames and on site workshop. They also sell a variety of lovely original art and creative gifts.

Had a truly excellent experience with Corner Frame recently. They are very knowledgeable and helped me choose the best custom frame for a piece of artwork we have had for many years. It turned out amazing! Wonderful customer service, it was quick to get completed and it was less money than I had anticipated. Would recommend this shop to others 100%.
Holly P — Google review
I have had the pleasure of having most of our Art framed by the Corner Frame Shop team. They are the best in the business and the passion of their art of framing comes out in their work. If you need anything framed from a mirror to your most prized piece of art, they are the ones to call.

Being apart of North County for 55 years, has given me the opportunity to meet the real locals. Morgan was a real local, as many of us know, he has passed-on. Morgan was a special person who did so many things for the Leucadia community, plus gave us a very professional design house for framing. I couldn't help to read the other reviews; I noticed the average is 4.5 stars, why not all 5's? I read low review. Actually, those are great numbers considering Morgan had the shop for over 40 years, we all have our bad days and one should not think other-wise. RIGHT? The Frame shop is in a new chapter with professional business guidance of dear Brenda, Morgan's wife, the fine craftsmanship of Mark, designer experist of Trish, the passionate creative designer of Kelli, who also manages the shop. The team has done an amazing job of upgrading the shop; adding additions to the gallery, bringing in more light and best of all offering ten star customer service. Morgan will always be with us in spirit and once in a while, one can feel his creative presents, which is a great feeling. We will miss you Dear Morgan, the team will give it 200%
