Visitors praise the extensive menu selection and delicious offerings. The restaurant is known for its warm hospitality and welcoming ambiance. Guests have enjoyed fabulous dinners from the fixed price menu and appreciated the fast and cheerful service.
Great food and service. We ate lunch and the food was very good. Good menu selection for lunch. Very fresh.

I really enjoy going there for lunch. Best falafels and I also love their fresh juices.

Had breakfast here on the last day in Salamanca! Maria Jose was the waitress, she is very friendly and accommodating. The view was unbeatable, I would recommend it!
Nikita C — Google review
Cena fabulosa! We selected from the fixed price menu. Excellent. And, fast and cheerful service. Just after we sat down a party of 20 came in from the university. I was ready to bail, but we decided to wait and see if we got service. Our waitress popped right out after she seated that party, a bit breathless, but super cheerful. The meal came quickly. And, the owner helped me with my Spanish. Recommended.
Ben H — Google review
Excellent venue which we found via our Lonely Planet Spain guide book... Three course menu of the day for €15. The waitress gave us an additional menu (same items in English rather than Spanish). Great food, more than just a restaurant, beers, coffees, cakes, ice cream, meeting up with friends etc. Photo of my starter squid ink black rice with shrimp... very tasty.
Howard H — Google review
Great tapas and menu de día! The portion of the menu is big and delicious including lots of choices and desserts. But there were a lot of people during the weekend just have to wait for a little time
YC H — Google review
Wow nice prices incredible selection. We loved this place. Also it is one of the cleanest cafes/restaurants around. Thanks to all the women working there. Btw, there are only women working in this place. But men are welcome too ;) There is no open air tough...

Restaurante La Cocina de Toño is located in the Plaza de San Juan Bautista, just a short distance from El Toscano. It's known for its wide variety of cocktails and an extensive selection of chupitos (shots) at reasonable prices. The restaurant offers a fantastic range of Basque-inspired tapas, also known as pintxos, with impressive presentation. Visitors praise the spectacular attention and cuisine, noting that each dish surpasses expectations.
Went as a couple for lunch following DK Eyewitness guide recommendation . It was outstanding , great food and service. 17 euros set lunch, 6 courses! Great bottle of vino rosado 17 euros. Went away very satisfied. Many locals eating.

I had dinner here with my family, and our overall experience was positive. The waitresses were polite, and the service was okay. All of our dishes were delicious, especially the beef, which was very tender and juicy, and the chipirones. However, I believe that the prices were too high, considering the quality of the food and the size of the portions.
Felipe A — Google review
Nice and simple dinner place. It's decently priced, don't expect the best, but just a nice a simple night. The waitresses are really nice. Maybe not the most knowledgeable, but extremely polite and we'll mannered. Nothing wrong with this place

Bambú Tapas y Brasas is a stylish gastrobar known for its modern tapas, sharing platters, and grilled meat and seafood. It's a popular spot in the trendy Chinchibarra neighborhood, attracting locals, university students, and tourists alike. The restaurant recently underwent a transformation to return to its roots of offering traditional Spanish tapas and grilled dishes with a street-style twist.
What a treat! We tried the chef's tasting menu, and every course was a taste sensation. The staff were wonderful, making sure everything was well presented, making excellent recommendations, and working hard while keeping a relaxing atmosphere. Congratulations on an excellent menu and service. Our favourites were the mussels and the iberico pork. The house wines are well chosen to balance the flavours. It was one of the best meals we've ever had. Thank you, and we wish you a very successful 2025.

Excellent restaurant in Salamanca, everything I tried was nothing less than espectacular. A MUST try is the prawn & octopus chupito, the cod buñuelo, the pork chops, everything here is guaranteed to be out of this world. The service is top notch as well. Definitely one of the best restaurants I have been to. Keep it up!
Sebastian T — Google review
This was truly excellent. A diverse menu with dishes for all dietary requirements, each perfected to an incredibly high standard. The atmosphere was brilliant, not too loud, just the right volume. The staff were all lovely, and I was very grateful for them accommodating us by speaking to me and my family in both English and Spanish (however I must say I was pleased I was able to speak a good amount of Spanish and come up with some decent replies!). The food is very quick to come out. There wasn’t a single empty table in the place and they still manage to keep on top of things really well. Highlights for me were the Pork Belly, sirloin, and The truffled duck egg. We also had pretty much everything pork and it was all truly incredible. I think my favourite dishes were the pork dishes. Really highly recommend.
Charlie K — Google review
We are on an escorted tour with Collette Tours and our tour manager Philip suggested this place. We arrived for dinner but the place was full with reservation, so I made reservations for the next night. We were seated right next to the kitchen. It was fun watching the chefs prepare the dishes. We felt like we were watching Top Chef. Great atmosphere. We had a variety of tapas, all excellent. We had the Pork skewer marinade Moorish style, the smoked Iberian top shoulder pastrami bun, grilled pork belly roll, the lamb "pincho" oaxaca, and white wine. The most interesting item was the lamb "pincho". We were told to eat it from the bottom. The top had a chocolate syrup. It was a combination of savory and sweet. We really liked it! I really wanted to try the braised scallop, but was pretty full by then. In fact, we gave some of the pork skewer to our friends who were at the next table. For tapas, it's on the pricey side, but the taste, quality, culinary experience and presentation outweighed the prices. The staff was friendly and helpful when we were looking through the menu. If we ever get back to Salamanca, I would definitely dine here again.
Monica P — Google review
Excellent place to get delicious tapas. Lots of wine options and tasty food offerings. I would recommend getting a reservation. I managed to get a seat as I arrived early, but I saw a number of people get turned away. It was a lively venue, with good vibes. They had some English speaking staff and English menus for people like me with poor Spanish skills, but the majority of the patrons were Spanish. It clearly enjoys popularity with locals and travellers alike. I can definitely recommend it.
D C — Google review
Had a delicious dinner here last night. Every member of the team there was fantastic. They were all very kind, attentive, and lovely and took time to explain the vegetarian options on the menu as well as to tell me about the desserts. I had the scallops (10/10, citrusy and the oil was delicious as well, dip your bread in it), patatas bravas (9/10, quite good, hugeee portion), the avocados (20/10, out of this world, would go back only to have this, so flavorful and fresh), tinto de verano (10/10 lovely), and for dessert, the cheesecake (10/10, one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had, so creamy and loved the flaky crust as well). Can highly recommend to vegetarians (but not vegans). Oh, and whoever was in charge of music last night, loved it! It was all 90s and 2000s hits and your girl enjoyed that thoroughly. Remember to reserve in advance. Thank you team 😊

Salamanca Coffee is a popular spot located near the main plaza in the city. It's often compared to Starbucks and offers a cozy atmosphere with charming staff. While some visitors have had issues with inaccurate opening times, others have enjoyed sitting outside on a pretty street, sipping on iced coffee and cappuccinos. The cafe also offers baked goods, but options for dairy-free food are limited.
Very good Coffee ☕️😊

Jonathan A — Google review
Salamanca Coffee is not only about an Americano or a Macchiato, but charming staff and cozy local. I was there when this cafeteria started. I heard about a new local opening in the same center with real coffee and stylish design. Ever since, I use to stop by at least once a week, despite a considerable number of offers alike. Then, here it's why I keep going and you won't regret if you do so: Either the staff either the local itself provide with cozy, smart and comfortable experience for both studying or hanging out. On the top of it, it is located in downtown close to Universities so a perfect match between classes. Finally, they open early in the morning suitable for both students and early-bird tourists.
Ronal A — Google review
Nice atmosphere, but the coffee was pretty bad and the red velvet cake very dry and too sweet.

Restaurante El Mesón de Gonzalo is a legendary restaurant in Salamanca, operating since 1947. It offers two distinct concepts on different floors to cater to diverse clientele. The upper floor features a casual bar atmosphere, while the lower floor provides an elegant dining experience. The menu combines traditional Spanish dishes with modern twists and includes vegetarian options.
Recommend by our Hotel and it did not disappoint! They made a reservation for us and would recommend you also make a reservation , we arrived at 7:30 pm when they open and the restaurant filled up fast . We started with the cheese plate and bread. We had the sirloin steak 250g and was excellent, very tender and full of flavor:) We added French fries since the steak comes without accompaniment. We ended with the creamy Cheesecake with strawberry ice cream:)

One of the best meals I had in Spain, and I had no shortage of great meals. Everything about this place is so enjoyable. The location. The interior. The fantastic service. The delicious food. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Reasonably priced. An excellent wine list as well. In a town with many fine restaurants, many of which have won Michelin accolades, it can be a difficult to choice to select a restaurant. But you will be hard-pressed to find a better option than this one. Highly recommended. Also recommended - making reservations (which can be done via their website)
Jaded G — Google review
Great place, with a very friendly service and good food. Only comment or advice is to try not to use the tables that are so close to the street since there are a lot of locals that approached us asking for money or food…. Maybe a table inside would be best.
Andres V — Google review
We were driving from near Madrid to Porto on this day and we stopped in Salamanca for lunch. El Mesón is a Michelin recognised restaurant so we made a booking before leaving our resort at El Santo Reserve. We were delighted with our au fresco table, fab service and delicious food. I had a sashimi fusion dish with tuna that was amazing and popular. We shared a fried calamari and shrimp starter. We also had beef meatballs, fish and chips, and ribs. We were so full we could not touch the desserts. We want to revisit this cool town and come back to this popular restaurant.
Rhicke J — Google review
A great disappointment. I went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a dear friend of mine—a chef from Salamanca—who urged me to try their celebrated Galician beef chop, dry-aged for 40 days, weighing some 900 grams and served boneless. To accompany such a dish, we chose a fine bottle of Carmelo Rodero, expecting a meal of true distinction. Alas, the experience fell far short. Service was slow, and when the long-awaited chop finally arrived, it was served cold. Summoning a waiter proved a challenge in itself, and when at last I managed to request that the dish be warmed, the plate was whisked away without a word of apology or courtesy. Moments later, it returned—clearly reheated in a microwave, a grievous mishandling of what should have been the crown jewel of the menu. For a restaurant of this reputation, and for its most expensive dish, one would expect not only excellence in execution but also at least a sincere apology or an explanation. Instead, there was indifference. A regrettable experience, and a sad waste of what could have been a memorable meal.
Q G — Google review
A solid 4 stars, nothing more. The food was good, but be warned if you are American the portions are small. Vegetables were consumed as gazpacho prior to dinner, served with bread that you should not eat. This is because there is a €3 each charge for bread that isn't otherwise announced and the bread itself is terrible. I ended up ordering an appetizer of steak tartar and a side of fries as dessert when I was still quite hungry after having the meatballs. The wine is quite affordable by American standards, and good, though pours are short. Bathrooms were clean. We made a reservation despite wide availability online and were lucky we did as others were turned away on a Monday evening.

Walk in August 2024 Outdoor seating a group of 8 hungry but time short tourists.. they were happy to accommodate us and even thought we were short on dinning time the service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious and amazing Great prices, excellent food and service Would definitely recommend

There were four of us dining at here a week ago. The evening was very important to us, though our waitress didn’t know that. Still, she is the reason I’m writing this review. From the very beginning, Carmen was the perfect companion for our evening. She gave us recommendations and advice — even when she didn’t have to. In the end, everyone had a delicious meal, and beyond that, we all felt so well taken care of and comfortable that we wished we could eat here every day. We want to thank you for an exceptionally wonderful and, as mentioned before, very special evening, and we hope that Carmen will be able to create this experience for many other guests as well. Greetings from Germany

Cuzco Bodega is a tapas bar in Salamanca, Spain that offers Mediterranean, European, Spanish cuisine with tasty and accessible prices. The waitstaff is friendly and the food is delicious- I highly recommend the duck burrito!
Nice small bar with good tapas options and good wine selection. We came here for something small to eat and a drink while touring the city and can definitely recommend it. They have options from the region so don’t expect the typical spanish tapas. Plenty of meat options and also some items outside of the menu. The food quality vs price is great and the staff are very friendly. You can tell it’s a place for locals so if you like sitting at the bar, having a glass of wine and something to eat, this is for you. Definitely recommended..

What can I say besides ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC TAPAS. The best we have had in Salamanca and we have visited many times. You might feel the price is high but the portions are fair and the taste is excellent. It is a small, very busy place and because they don't take bookings, you might need to go closer to the opening times or wait for a bit.

Fantastic food. Really, really good tapas that reminded me of the great pinxos up in the Basque. Excellent produce, beautifully cooked. Great flavours and they stray away from traditional into other flavours. Our waitress wasn’t going to give us any love but everything arrived quickly and efficiently. Best to order a dish or two at a time to see how much you need. Everything is good! No bookings taken so we arrived at opening time as it was a Saturday night and we had a table immediately. 30 minutes later and people were waiting inside for a table. Definitely worth the wait!

RESTAURANTE LA HOJA 21 is an upscale restaurant located just off the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca. The elegant environment features a glass facade, high ceilings, and minimalist art, offering a welcome change from typical Castilian mesones. The menu offers traditional dishes with a modern twist, such as iberico pork ravioli and langoustine-stuffed trotters for dinner. They also offer a lunch prix fixe menu on weekdays.
Nicely decorated. Croquetas were awesome. The other 2 main plates were ok nothing spectacular. Service was good, but mostly focused on the locals.
South E — Google review
Extremely good food and excellent service. The second plate lacked a bit of things to accompany the dish - it focused on the meat and fish more. I believe a gourmet dish shouldn't mean less items in a plate. The only thing missing in this restaurant is napkin cloths, it would elevate the restaurant to its proper level. For the level of the restaurant, 22€ per person for lunch is an excellent price for the quality of food your getting.
Matilde R — Google review
We experienced one of our worst meals in Spain. For an expensive 5 star restaurant, both the food and service were very poor. Having relied on the menu English translation "T-bone steak", under the Spanish title chuleta de ternera, we received white meat probably veal, but at least half was not able to eat due to extensive fat. The photo shows some of the fat that had to be cut off together with a lot of sinew leaving only half of the meat to eat. It was also under cooked even though we sent it back once. Proper translation showed the meat was veal which is surprising given veal is normally lean, not fatty. Clearly it was a very poor quality meat and certainly not T-bone steak red meat. Having complained to the waiter twice, he had no interest at all. We asked to speak to the manager who was very aggressive, rude and threatened to call the police even though we showed him the photo. We therefore reluctantly paid the full bill and left. A very disappointing evening. We visit Spain regularly and this was the worst experience.
C C — Google review
One of the worst experiences in years. Unprofessional, disrespectful and neglectful. I was in a big gala dinner and they offered rice (starter) and then somebody showed me a bowl with plain noodles saying world you eat this, it looked horrible. Then they kept serving everyone completely ignoring me. No alternatives were offered, they were looking at me staying and everyone is eating, serving a dish after the other. It was a surreal experience. Only in nightmares you can find such low level of unprofessional behavior. I had to leave to find a place to eat. My advise, is, avoid at all costs.
Mohammed S — Google review
An excellent restaurant with a different quality of food that I suggest you definitely try. Also, their hosting is excellent. Calm atmosphere with delicious food and excellent quality.

We had a great experience here for a special Thursday date night. The menu is offered in the evenings during the week, so we ordered from that. The selections change weekly. All of the food we very good. The wine selection has many high quality bottles but we just wanted a glass of wine each, not a bottle, so our choices were limited. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful in describing the menu choices. The food came quickly. I thought the presentation was fine and the portions were plenty for me.
Caitlin F — Google review
Extremely surprised by a 4+ rating.. Service is poor and the food was not good either. Grilled Aubergine with anchovies appears to have been grilled some months ago and thawed out, clearly lacking the colour of Aubergine or its taste. Stewed Cod with creamy potato had the consistency of slime unfortunately. I would venture to say a packet sauce was used. Invisible cremy potatoes was a first for me. Duck breast with quamquat was just that and absolutely nothing else, a raw bloody duck breast as per picture. All foods came cold except for the chips my partner ordered because for just under €100, we were both still hungry. At least the chips was hot straight from the freezer to the deep fryer. Whatever it was that singled us out for a terrible dining experience, it would be interesting to know. When i asvised the waiter of the poorquality of food, he laughted as simply walked on. Perhaps, the 4+ rating is due to the Establishment's pursuit to have Google remove negative reviews.

Restaurante Las Tapas de Gonzalo is a vibrant dining spot located in the historic Plaza Mayor. The restaurant transforms into a lively cocktail bar later in the evening, offering a range of creative and modern tapas made from fresh, seasonal, and high-quality ingredients. The elegant setting provides outdoor seating for enjoying elevated seafood and meat tapas while taking in the picturesque surroundings. Visitors rave about their delicious patatas bravas and other menu offerings like beef tartar and Pepito de solomillo.
We were unsure about trying to find a restaurant in the Plaza Mayor because it is such an iconic spot but we need not have worried. We had fantastic service from Ana, including really helpful recommendations, and great food at an excellent price. And for lunch we were sitting in full shade on the terrace which was appreciated in 40 degrees. 100% recommend.

This is a nice place to have tapas located right in the main square of SALAMNCA. They have a small selection of tapas and the atmosphere is very nice. It is a little expensive here to have tapas however it is to be expected as you are located right in the main square. It is more expensive to sit and eat outside than inside. The food is nice and the staff are very friendly. I would recommend a stop here to have a drink and some tapas.

We had an lunch in the restaurant upstairs and were able to snag a window table on the 1st floor overlooking Plaza Mayor. It was a dream table! The service was excellent. The food was so so with the Solomillo de Morucha being quite tough and the calamares on the chewy side. The gazpacho was amazing tho. The view and ambiance made up for any discrepancy in the food.
Linda B — Google review
This is the perfect place to have a drink and some tapas!! You sit and enjoy your drinks & food as the people (and dogs) go by. In the evening, it’s even more spectacular because the plaza gets lit up!

Tapas Gonzalo is a solid spot right on Salamanca’s beautiful Plaza Mayor — you get unbeatable views while you eat, which adds a lot to the experience. I ordered the patatas bravas and they were delicious — not too spicy but quite flavorful. The pricing is quite reasonable considering such a prime location. Service was friendly and the vibe felt relaxed, even with all the tourist traffic. It’s a nice choice if you want to sit down, enjoy the square, and not rush.

I usually avoid eating in the main squares of the old towns because I always feel they are tourist traps, but this place was recommended by a friend from Slamanca and it was really good! All the taps were good but the Mini burgers were just amazing! 🤤
Luka B — Google review
Food excellent and good service. Sadly, we were the only people dining on a rather cold evening, so I can't really comment on 'atmosphere'!
Nigel H — Google review
Crystal bread with tomato was not crispy and little of tomato sauce on top, Melanzane alla Parmigiana ( eggplant with cheese) is so dry. Bread mussels filled with something so salty. The food is not worth the price at all. We don’t mind spending money but this one is expensive because the quality of the food is not worth the price at all.

With a little luck we found this little gem not far away from our hotel. We tried 4 tapas and 1 dessert and all of them were delicious. Service was friendly and wonderful!

Very tasty food and fun tapas atmosphere. The wines were also delicious. Highly recommend trying a few tapas while in town.

Busy place especially if you want to be outside. Got a little corner inside, it was perfect! Great service. Carpaccio was delicious!
Martine A — Google review
Its a tourist trap. A small cup of Salmorejo was 7.5euros and the tapa sandwich was 6.5euros. Both of them tasted just ok. No bread was given. In other cities, such as Sevilla, we paid half the price and got much better food. Very disappointing.
Kay K — Google review
The tapas were all very tasty, beautifully served and the atmosphere relaxed in a small alley in the center of Salamanca. We had the Risotto boletus, the hamburger, the tempura de trigeros y langostinos and the erizos. The service was fast and the drinks were very nice. We recommend it.
Kate B — Google review
The personnel were very kind, portions were generous and the taste was correct but nothing outstanding. Probably expectations were so high due recommendations and restaurant reputation. However, I would qualify with 5* the ensaladilla rusa and alubias with pulpo

First experience at Salamanca and very.good to be honest. We made our first stop in the middle of Spain at Salamanca, after 700km road trip, and tapas we took for dinner were all excellent: very good bravas, amazing tomato salad, extremely tasty bacon mollitos... All good! They only have the terrace now due Covid restrictions, but worth the experience. Massive wine list although a bit overpriced. Still good to go and taste. Fantastic! Seeing this beautiful restaurant on the way back to the Hotel we gave it a try. Fantastic food - great service. If we come back to Salamanca we come back here. Compared to a lot of other places in town you great food for great value. Highly recommend!
Joern H — Google review
Quiet, fairly elegant restaurant that combines creative starters with traditional, but elaborate, main dishes. We started off with the liquid croquette (amazing) and the hummus (refreshing, with dried tomatoes and hints of nut). Our main dishes were the pig tongue with hoisin sauce and mustard (delicious but very intense, best for sharing) and the cod loin confit (safe choice). The lemon meringue pie is a fantastic dessert. Overall, El Alquimista strikes a good balance between traditional and haute cuisine. My only issue is that the staff are not particularly pleasant, creating a somewhat repressed atmosphere.

Don’t get fooled by the somewhat “out of the way” location. This restaurant is well worth a visit for a proper dinner when you are done with tapas and pintxos! Sophisticated without being complicated and very good service.

We went with a big group, precisely 27 people, to have our lunch here and we have absolutely blast here. It's a cozy place perfect for family and friends. Atmosphere is beautiful and so is the food. But what strikes me best is the service. To manage a large group of people like us is not a joke. People working here are very friendly as well as professional too. We have full menu means starter, main course and deserts and must say we just love everything. Highly recommend always.

We arrived without a reservation and were seated outside which was a beautiful quiet square with gardens. The food was excellent, we had duck mousse (pâté) with fig jam, chicken teriyaki, followed by tagliatelle with chorizo and pancetta and salmon teriyaki. For dessert a delicious cheesecake with figs. Our waitress, Naiara, was very friendly and most helpful. She asked if we wanted to share our dishes and then arranged for each one to come, one after another, with two plates. It was relatively expensive compared with other places we have eaten in Spain but the food was very fresh and well cooked and delicious.

We had menu de mercado €35. Everything looked lovely but nothing stood out. I booked online and let them know I was lactose intolerant but I didn’t read fine print. They cannot adapt ser menu. I’ve never had that before in a fine dining restaurant. So didn’t eat dessert or petit fours They say to contact them with allergies before booking. As I had booked online and advised them. I thought that was sufficient. If you want a nice lunch it’s nice but not amazing

Quite simply amazing and inventive food in an elegant setting. We had the tasting menu and weren’t disappointed. The staff were delightful and attentive. Don’t miss this gem!

I really enjoyed this tasting menu. I'm not accustomed to this kind of dining, only done it a handful of times, but I will say this one was good but not life changing. Why five stars? It's priced very reasonably and the service was friendly and amazing. A memorable meal for sure! The final beef dish was spectacular, as was the Serrano Limon and the Thai style fish. Three protein plates in total out of nine dishes and it was more than enough! And the sorbet! Amazing! Portions are very large. I'm a overweight American and I had more food than I could eat! I would change the pickled pig ear, it was immensely greasy and didn't have enough vinegar to offset it. Second the pollo campero tasted like canned chicken, so I recommend taking that one back to testing as well.

Lenny D — Google review
We were recommended 3 restaurants from our receptionist in our hotel who was born here. The first choice meson cervante was amazing, beautiful old style go upstairs and the ambience amazing, set lunch 19 euros. We decided because she was spot on that we would try Corte y cata, this place lacks energy, is so overpriced, the cheapest wine is 24 euros a bottle and then it jumps into the 100’s and rises to 400 euros a bottle, crazy considering you can get good wines under 10 euros in supermarkets. Anyway we started with the Iberia ham 18 euros, it was good however they served with bread that was cold and hard, not warm and soft, the second dish we had was the anchovy , 8 pieces that if I closed my eyes, it could of come from a can, the next dish we preordered was the prawn tempura, nothing special . No interesting flavor 10 pieces, that worked out at 2.10 euros a piece. I normally don’t criticize but as a food lover who doesn’t mind paying for a quality meal , I say to other food lovers, don’t disappoint yourself by coming here. I read reviews praising the food and thought , what the heck? Total rip off trading on its name.

Typical place for a menu del día. The price is €11,50. Wine/beer/water/gaseosa are included, but drinks like Coca Cola or ice tea are not. The service was quick. The food was good and some dishes were very good for a daily menu. They have 6 options for starters and also 6 for main courses. The cheese cake desert tasted like natillas, it was not cheese cake. The coffee mousse was excellent.

Quaint little neighborhood restaurant with a good selection of food at very reasonable prices. When you are the only non-Spaniard in the place and have to wait 20 minuets to be seated, competing for a table against families, grandparents and grandchildren, and new and old friends, you know this is as authentic down-home Spanish cooking as it gets. For those looking for fancy fare, look elsewhere. BTW: I hear the desserts are to die for, but unfortunately I had no more room to try. Next time for sure!

This traditional Salamanca bar is well-known for its affordable and good food, with special attention given to their sinfully delicious steak tartare. Other popular dishes here include fried calamari, potatoes mashed with garlic and green pepper, and crispy chanfaina. Beer is always a great way to finish your meal at La Viga.
A superbly authentic tapas bar in the middle of Salamanca. Notorious for their "pork cheek", you'll be dazzled with local flavours. Service was beyond impeccable - and huge respect to the waiter for his awesome recommendations! Absolutely recommend

Excellent for shared raciones for a group. We got their classic Hetas -- which is exactly like a Filipino Crispy Pata. Got some callos, sweetbreads (cow brain), and stir fried clams to pair up with the fatty pork! For drinks, I recommend a Clara beverage. This lemony beer drink pairs well with all the salty tapas you are getting.

Having missed the bus back to the campsite we had an hour to kill & stopped here for a drink & some tapas. Whatever is their speciality tapas (can't remember the name) then have some! Exceptional, all the plates hit the mark, showcasing the very best of the Salamancan terroir! Creative twists of local classics and skillful inventions by the chef, we had a lovely dinner. Expert service and wine advice, muchisimas gracias to the ConSentindo team : )
Wass H — Google review
I really don’t like leaving ‘negative’ reviews, but we haven’t been able to get this place out of our minds - it was a very expensive and disappointing experience. Some of the dishes are just outrageously priced, such as a single spear of asparagus for 8 euro. (You read that correctly - one spear!) Also a tiny, tiny bowl of chard for the same price. To make things worse, we thought they must have split each of these dishes across two plates, so that we could enjoy them a compartir, but in fact we had been charged for two serves of each! It was just crazy. The service was lovely (even though our kind waiter spilled our wine, dropped our squab on the serving bench whilst carving it and knocked my glasses onto the floor!). The food was fine, but no better than any of the lovely local restaurants Salamanca offers. We just didn’t understand this place.

My husband and I share a birthday and we celebrated at ConSentido. The service, value, food, everything was incredible. We ordered the tasting menu. Definitely do that the first time you go. Yes, it was expensive but not for the level of food or compared to similar restaurants in the US.
Evelyn O — Google review
Tasting menu was very good. We particularly liked how much of it was from Salamanca and the surrounding area, and how several courses used different parts of the same animal.
Brendan L — Google review
Haute cuisine with traditional roots and local produce. You can either choose the tasting menu or order individual dishes. We had the tasting menu (€70 per person), which consists of 18 "snacks" and up to 4 optional add-ons. Every single dish was great. Our favorites were the chorizo éclaire, the mushroom broth, the garlic soup and the grilled potato with Iberian carbonara (the last one was an optional add-on for €10 per person). The cuisine is creative and elaborate, yet firmly rooted in the local gastronomy—a perfect blend of tradition and experimentation. Despite its two Soles Repsol, the atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed.

Jose L — Google review
A great market in Salamanca, just outside of Plaza Mayor. Reasonably sized, not so massive it becomes an overwhelming maze of one vendor after another. Like Goldilocks, this one is just right, with everything you need - meats, cheeses, eggs, poultry, fruits, vegetables, etc. Do not skip this when you are in the area.
Jaded G — Google review
This market is not for the Muslim. It is non halal, many stalls sell pork and pork products. It is an excellent place to buy cooking ingredients. The seafood and meat are fresh. The saffrons and honey are of good value. The prices are acceptable. The market is well listed, clean and dry.

Not as busy as some other markets in spain and smaller but still perfect. Great for veg meat and fish and a few very nice tapas bars as well. As I say smaller but still well worth the visit

We went to the market square, bought some ham and cold cuts there, and were helped by a very nice guy named Sophian. What he recommended turned out to be delicious, and we’ll definitely be back in a few days 👍👍
José M — Google review
I like its Neo-Mudejar style, built with red brick and colorful ceramic decorations, inspired by Moorish architecture.
Islands A — Google review
Fun experience visiting the market on a busy day!! All of the stalls full of meats, seafood and treats!! The Best Salamanca has to offer!! We were treated to a Port tasting with charcuterie delights!! Loved the cheese with Spanish prosciutto followed by a Tawny Port!! Just Delicious!! It’s incredible to see the variety of costs for these Spanish Hams.

Confitería Pastelería Santa Lucía is a charming bakery located in Plaza Mayor, offering a variety of delectable treats. The Floreta, a deep-fried pastry shaped like a flower and sprinkled with cinnamon, is highly recommended. Additionally, the shop boasts an array of items including meat empanadas and chocolate muffins. Visitors praise the establishment for its reasonable prices and beautiful decor.
During my time studying in Salamanca, I have been going around and trying croissants at different bakeries to determine which has the best. I have decided that this place is home to the best croissants. The vibes, the price, the size, the taste, all 10/10. The chocolate one is my favorite!
Lydia W — Google review
The croissant rellenos Nutella and cheesecake were amazing! The cheesecake ones were out of this world. I wasn’t in love with the hornazo but that wasn’t the bakery, more my food preference. This is a great place for desserts! Highly recommend!

Such a disappointment. Spotted this place one day of our holiday. Particularly liked a colourful truffle creation which was sold by slices in the shop window. I made a mark on my map to make sure I come back before leaving town and buy a few slices as gifts. The day we went back no one was in the shop so I thought i might be able to mix and match but the lady was so grumpy snappy and unhelpful. She refused to cut a piece of the truffle I wanted! Even though there was a huge chunk enough of 8-10 slices. Go figure. She just wanted to sell the ones that were already celofane wrapped. She was, for no reason snappy and downright unfriendly. Good luck with this attitude 3 days before Christmas.

The hornazo I had had good filling but the bread was very dry - as if the bread had been sitting on the shelf for a long time. Same goes for the roll (forgot its name) that is sweet and dusted with icing sugar. It was so dry that I wanted to throw it away after the first bite. Very disappointed. Don't be fooled by its pretty interior.

This is such a fancy little pasty shop. They have a huge variety of items, including meat empanadas. The ice cream is the best, and the prices are reasonable, not overpriced. Everything is beautiful to gaze at, and even better to eat.

Hotel Vincci Ciudad de Salamanca is a relaxed 4-star hotel located on the outskirts of Salamanca, offering warm rooms and suites with free Wi-Fi. It's just a 10-minute walk to the city center, making it easy to avoid driving and parking hassles. The hotel features a restaurant, lobby area, and WiFi throughout the property.
CLEAN and quiet. Walking distance to Roman bridge which is a good starting point to visit historical center. Friendly staff. Paid parking at a reasonable price. There are also free parking option on streets around the hotel. Receptionist Sara helped us with local food suggestions and places. And, there is also a free and very detailed city guide at the hotel for customers.
Hakan B — Google review
Need to improve their customer service and attitude toward customers. We arrived July 21st, late afternoon with elderly parents after a long hot day in the Spanish Extremadura and were met with a very cold receptionist, made check in very burdensome and made us wait for a long time while she kept babbling on the phone to a colleague. Tried our best to speak spanish but still got met with a rude persona. Asked her to pass on some feedback but she just kept talking back at us, really upsetting. Made our stay memorable for the wrong reasons. Breakfast could have been better, selection was poor, not like other Extremaduran hotels where we stayed. However two staff kept lingering around so it seems there's a mismanagement of resources. Bedroom AC was broken, you couldn't regulate it yourself, more like one size fits all which was really annoying as some of us felt really hot. Certainly did not feel like a 4 star hotel.
A S — Google review
Very pleasant stay and great value. More of a good three star than four star hotel. A little walk into centre or very cheap taxi. Safe underground parking for extra charge. Doesn't really have a proper restaurant but snack bar better than it sounds. Will return as not enough time here. Salamanca is so beautiful.
Julie S — Google review
Rooms were fairly spacious and service was very kind and helpful. Feels a bit dated and while it said parking was abundant, we ended up a few blocks away. Otherwise- nice walk into the center of town!
Patrick F — Google review
Fantastic location if driving to Spain or Portugal from Santander very close to the main routes. Safe underground parking and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Bar food is reasonably priced and tasty.
Neil H — Google review
Nice hotel - welcoming staff. Great location. Now when we arrived it was unexpectedly 34° so it wasn't that surprising the air conditioning couldn't cope. However there was no excuse for the shower cubicle door being broken. If the bar is shut when you arrive there is a nice cafe directly accros the road. It's an easy stroll to the Cathedral and town. There are two supermarkets just behind the hotel.

Nice hotel but probably rating a star under that published. Good A/C. Slightly tired bathroom. Location for main centre about a 20 minute stroll. Secure underground parking

The Good Burger is a great place to get a delicious hamburger. The interior is air conditioned, but it can be hot inside, so ask to have the music lowered if you're feeling overheated. The staff are friendly and the selection of beers is good.
Two for one Thursday deal for burgers. The bowls were a good portion and the salad as well. The potatoes were crunchy and crispy. The burger was great and tasty. The fries come in different types and there are lots of seats with a rustic feel. The food was made in about 5 minutes and we had a buzzer which told us when it was ready.
RM P — Google review
Tasty burger and crunchy fries. Good choice of burger. Burger came out smaller than expected, when compared to menu, but ok for us and we weren't too hungry. €6.90 for the meal including fries and drink is a good deal. No air con made it quite hot inside, and had to ask to turn music down as it was turned up to 11!!! Heinz tomato ketchup and mustard is a good sign. Quite empty on our visit at 16:30, but has about 30 tables, so lots of space. A few local and international beers is good also. Would definitely come again. Tasty beef.

2 for 1 Thursday. What a treat. It was the least expensive at 5,00 euros and the best. Had a BBQ bacon burger with fries that was delicious. I had the "vino tinto" which is their summer wine and that was really good especially when it hit me later. I have two more Thursdays to go! Yummy!
Joyce K — Google review
Very tasty and well presented. Great flavor! Perhaps a bit too small for the price if you don't take the 2 for 1 thursday promotion, but still would recommend!

They call themselves "The Good Burger", seriously? A two days old Mc Donald's Burger tastes better than this (and they are awful). Burger cold and small, fries cold.. Asked if I can have a fresh and hot burger and they just heated up the patty and gave me my burger in which I have bitten once right back. Never again "The Shittiest Burger"! Total waste of money...
Joe S — Google review
The hamburger was disgusting, the tables were dirty, the ketchup/mustard station didn't have supplies, the soda station was sticky all over. The bathroom was dirty and had no toilet paper and the lower floor of the restaurant smelled like mold. Not a place I would ever go back.

Il Capriccio d' Italia is an Italian restaurant with delicious food. The quality of the food is good, and it's perfect for a nice dinner with your friends. They have a special going on where the prices are great, so don't miss out! They also have pizzas and pastas to choose from, so there's something for everyone.
All you can eat and drink for only 15 euros! The food is really good and the staff were really nice!
Pim K — Google review
Great find just slightly off the beaten track. €12 "buffet". We had 2 pastas, both were cooked fresh, and a pizza which was generously topped, and also cooked to order. It was all delicious actually, and greatly exceeded our expectations! Would have liked to try other flavours but were too full! Waiters were friendly and service was good.
Kit E — Google review
There's a special going on and the prices are great for all you can eat €7.90 pizza and pasta. But the quality of the food is alright. The pizza fills you up easy could be for two people. Pasta is good but the ravioli was dry and needed more tomato sauce.
RM P — Google review
The service is good, the people who work there are nice. The main problem is the food. The pizza was terrible and the pasta was mediocre. The price for the buffet was expensive (8 Euro) for what you get and drinks are crazy expensive (2 Euro for a can of Coke!). In this buffet you order and food is brought to you, so can't try different things in the menu. Also the pizza is a large/family size so you probably have to share it. Again it minimizes the quantity you can eat (it is a buffet after all) and variety of the foods you can try; and when we add the terrible taste and the overpriced drinks, well, my final recommendation is: I would not go there again for sure.

Sounds strange to have Italian food in Salamanca, but they do a nice job. Super clean restaurant & bathroom.
S J — Google review
Excellent place. Pasta out of this world good. Wonderful prices. I love that just about everything is 3.90euros and there is a great variety. I'd stay away from anything American as both the pizza and hamburger were odd interpretations of American flavors but wonderful food overall and a great staff. Look for the pasta bowl promotion for 5 euros.

This is a cheap restaurant, so the food is reasonably good. It's a place you can go to with your friends if you're on a budget, bit I wouldn't book it for a family dinner. The dishes are tasty and done at the moment. The service, however, is one of the poorest in Salamanca. (Translated by Google) I haven't been there in a while and the surprise is that it's still exactly the same!!! The same place with the same decoration, nothing has changed, only the person behind the bar. The food is still great, as always, and the star, of course, is the burger, which is one of the best you can eat in Salamanca right now. The price is hard to beat and the food is quality. The burger was abundant, perhaps the big mistake is that the potatoes have to be ordered separately and the portion of potatoes is a bit small. The price of the portion varies although the portion is the same, the difference is whether you order it with sauce or without it, curious. There is a lady and a young girl serving. The attention of the older lady could be improved. . . It seems that it bothers her that you ask her for things or ask her, she puts on a serious face. . . A highly recommended long-standing place to eat good quality at a very good price. Of course we will continue going!!

(Translated by Google) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A tasty and unique experience in the heart of Córdoba My wife and I recently discovered Don Perrito and loved it. From the moment you walk in, the service is very warm and friendly; you can tell they care about their customers. The menu is very well explained and has a very interesting variety of hot dogs, both for those looking for bolder flavors and for those who prefer something more classic. We tried three different types of hot dogs, and each one had its own unique character. I like that they have options for all tastes: from intense combinations full of flavor to simpler, more traditional hot dogs. For those who prefer classic hot dogs, you can order a basic hot dog and customize it with your favorite toppings. For example, add caramelized onions, and you have a hot dog very similar to the legendary ones at the recently closed Lucas, a classic beloved by many Cordobans, but with a more gourmet touch. The bread also deserves a special mention: it has a slightly sweet flavor that contrasts beautifully with the salty or sour ingredients. The sausage is very good, well-made, and you can tell that everything is carefully prepared. As a curious detail, you can accompany the hot dog with popcorn, which is original and different. Even so, from my point of view, I think many of us would also appreciate the classic menu option of fries and Coca-Cola, something that is generally very popular in Spain and would complement the menu well. In short: a new place with personality, good service, and eager to offer something different in Córdoba. We will definitely return! ¡Volveremos seguro!

Pans & Company is a chain fast food restaurant found all over Spain and in some places in Portugal. While it may not be the most delicious option, it still offers decent food. Visitors have praised the accommodating staff and the value for money at this establishment. Some guests also appreciated the free extra shot of espresso offered with their coffee, which they found to be a rare treat compared to what's typically available in the USA.
Stayed in an Airbnb in Salamanca in November 2022 which provided free breakfast from a Pans & Company. We only realized it was a chain fast food restaurant after seeing in all over Spain and in some places in Portugal. Considering it is fast food, it isn’t the most delicious in my humble opinion, but it was still pretty decent (4 out of 5 stars for taste). I gave this 5 stars because the staff here were more than accommodating to me and my brother. As mentioned, my Airbnb had a partnership for free breakfast here. On our checkout day, we were leaving Salamanca way earlier before Pans opened for business, so the staff suggested preparing our breakfast the evening before so we can just heat it up in the morning. My brother and I were really taken aback at the nice gesture and hospitality. We had 2 free breakfasts here and we also stopped by for lunch and a snack on two other occasions. Fair prices and filling, way better than the Burger King opposite IMO, which I visited only because it was late and open and I needed a snack. Recommended.

Probably not the most popular place to eat in town. The food didn't taste very fresh, salads are premade in a box and quite overpriced for what you get.

Restaurante Shawarma Queen Al toque offers a nice selection of halal food with very friendly staff. The portions are just right for an adult, and the shawarma options include chicken and beef. While some found the mix not very good, others enjoyed the filling nature of the dishes. The fries were hot but a bit salty for some tastes. Overall, it's a nice place with plenty of space to relax and enjoy a meal.

Nice halal food and very friendly staff. The food was alright and the quantity was just enough for an adult. We ordered three shawarma. The chicken one was fine but mix was not very good. I would suggest to not put (liquid chutney) on the food because not every one may have that taste. Secondly, the quantity of chicken should be increased as it was less. The fries were hot and good but again a bit less. It was very salty too. Otherwise, nice, friendly staff and plenty of space to relax.

If you're on the hunt for an exceptional dining experience in Salamanca, look no further than Restaurante Gran Pekín. This charming eatery holds the title of being the first Chinese restaurant in the city and has become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors alike. With its central location, it offers not only delicious dishes but also an inviting atmosphere adorned with stunning decorations featuring dragons, fire birds, and Chinese deities.
Definitely the best Chinese restaurant you can find in all Salamanca! I've been living in Salamanca for almost ten years and I've tried all the Chinese restaurants here, the restaurant Gran Pekín is the best place I've found so far, and it's actually the first Chinese restaurant in Salamanca. The flavor of there is not only recommended for the native Chinese, but also for the western or other oriental diners. Being the most central place in the whole city, the price is incredibly cheap! I recommend with five stars! You really have to try!

The best Chinese food you will have in Salamanca, period. I cannot stop myself from going every week. The place has a beautiful decoration, you will be dinning between Dragons, Fire Birds and Chinese gods. The food tastes really amazing and the prices are cheap. The menu is quite diverse with options for every taste. Believe me, it is good stuff. That Mongolian Style Beef is too damn good and I recommend the chicken with almonds too. You will love it, trust me.
Alejandro V — Google review
I have been in Salamanca for two weeks and I have gotten this place for dinner multiple times. It is very inexpensive but such good quality food. My boyfriend and I got wonton soup, sesame chicken, spicy Mongolian beef, kung pao noodles, and the friend chicken wings (without the spicy sauce), everything was amazing and when the bill came it was only $26 (with a water and beer to drink as well). The service is very kind and patient as our Spanish isn’t the best. It is normally quiet in there and starts to get more busy around 9 pm.

We ordered takeout ( Kam Pao chicken, sweet &sour chicken and sesame chicken along with 2x beef fried rice. Nothing was awful but nothing was great either. Fried rice was probably the best thing but barely gets a 5 out of 10 rating. The rest of the food was bland and very cheap cuts if chicken (barely worth eating). I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Salamanca. It's not "gourmet", but it is delicious and cheaper than McDonald's, and they are usually super fast. Very nice family owned business. For the best experience, don't get delivery, eat at the restaurant! You will not regret. I have been eating there there about 15 years, and I will always return. I repeat..... The BEST Chinese restaurant in Salamanca. Some of my favorite dishes: pollo flameado (stand back, because they light this dish up in flames) , rollitos vietnamitas(forget egg rolls/rollitos primavera, these are on another level!), Dumplings(similar to gyōzas), Tres Delicias de Mongolia(shrimp beef and chicken with some veggies and ginger on a sizzling platter) , Pollo Sésamo, Sopa Agripicante (Hot and Sour Soup...THE BEST I HAVE TRIED), Kubak con Gambas... I can go on and on, but these dishes never dissapoint. Gracias Gran Pekin💛

Rodilla is a charming spot known for its delicious oat milk coffee and cozy atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the friendly and attentive staff, making it a delightful place to enjoy breakfast. The menu offers a variety of tasty sandwiches, pastries, and salads, perfect for a light meal before traveling. Whether you're in the mood for something sweet or savory, Rodilla has something to satisfy your cravings.
(Translated by Google) I don't understand the bad reviews. I often choose this place whenever I want to have a quiet coffee, study, read, or chat with someone. It's a small place, but cozy and very comfortable, and the customer service is absolutely perfect. I have no complaints. No tengo ninguna queja.

Matcha does NOT taste like matcha. Just a fair warning about the matcha: do not expect it to taste anything like matcha. The flavour of clove, cardamom and cinnamon (though when asked if I wanted cinnamon I specifically told them I did not) is so overbearing there is not trace left of the matcha, if they used it at all to begin with.😑

(Translated by Google) A disappointment, the sandwiches don't look like the photos... little filling. Plus they give you halves of a sandwich, not a whole one. The ham and cheese one is two loaches of pseudo York ham with cheese, plus for what it is it seems expensive to me. The pastries are good but I suppose they bought them that way. The attention and the place are good.

(Translated by Google) Pretty terrible experience. We ordered three sandwiches and two coffees. The sandwiches were bad, the bread was stale, and the sauces were out of date, so we had to throw them away. They were about three days old. We're dedicated customers, and honestly, they were the worst sandwiches we've ever eaten. A shame.

(Translated by Google) The place was very nice, but the service was poor. We arrived at 8:13 and there was basically no service, so we had to order a takeout order. Aside from the grumpy girls, I understand why they want to leave because I'm also a waitress and I know how it feels to want to leave and then have someone arrive. But we're talking almost an hour before closing time, not 10 or 15 minutes. They served us incredibly poorly, they served us reluctantly, and that shows even in the product. I paid, but I didn't like it, and they couldn't change it either because it's not possible, according to "the manager."

(Translated by Google) This place is very good, even though the sandwiches are a bit expensive, but it's worth it, because they are delicious. Very cozy atmosphere and very friendly staff. We had breakfast with my friend here and we liked it. Even though the variety of pastries/sweets seemed a little limited to us, but maybe it's because we arrived a little late, it was 11. The price for 2 breakfasts seemed great to me. A good place to have breakfast or stop for a snack, while you wait for the train, or simply if you are passing through 🙂 Recommended (Original) Este sitio está muy bien, aún que un pelín caros los sándwiches, pero merece la pena, porque son buenísimos.

(Translated by Google) This is my third time here in August, and I love the place. It's very cozy, but the prices are already quite high... 2.04 for a latte... But the sandwiches are still delicious. The service is very good.

(Translated by Google) It's outrageous that customer service starts arguing with customers without any arguments. I ordered a macha tea served in the worst way because they start closing the room at 8 pm and everything was to go. They treated me rudely and I returned the macha tea because it tasted horrible. I asked if I could change it for a coffee. He insisted that I had to pay for the coffee as well, because that's Rodilla's company policy, something that I find in poor taste. In all service establishments, if something is done poorly, it is changed because customer satisfaction comes first. I didn't ask for a complaint form because it's not the establishment's fault, but the people in charge of the service.
