Where to eat: the 19 best restaurants in Lajares

We visited Canela Café as a group of 3 adults and 3 children after hearing that they had a play area where the kids could play while the adults enjoy a meal. Unfortunately, we were told that our group was too large for the play area and were instead seated at a different table. The staff was initially friendly, although the table we were given was quite dark. We ordered Nachos (as a starter), Chicken Fingers with fries, Mini Burgers with fries, two “Complete” Burgers (one with fries), and a Veggie Burger (also with fries). It took an extremely long time for the food to arrive. The Nachos, one of the kids’ meals, and some fries arrived first—well before the burgers. The burgers then trickled in one by one, with around a 10-minute gap between each, which meant the fries were cold by the time everyone had their main. This made it impossible to eat together as a group. When we pointed out that we had ordered the Nachos as a starter (as clearly listed on the menu), the waitress responded rudely and said she didn’t know that. We didn’t realize we had to explicitly ask for the starter to be served first. As for the food: the burgers were honestly inedible. The meat was cold, dry, and flavorless. The veggie patty was soggy, greyish, and tasted artificial. The burger bread itself was dry, and when we asked about the missing vegan cheese on the Veggie Burger, the server claimed that a small blob of sauce was the “cheese.” We returned the burgers, as they were not edible, and were met with rudeness—despite us staying polite throughout. It’s absolutely fair for a guest to mention when a dish is not up to basic standards. Afterwards, we could hear staff members complaining about us in Italian, which felt very disrespectful. In the end, we weren’t charged for the burgers (we would have paid), but the overall experience was extremely disappointing. We weren’t expecting a gourmet meal, but a basic level of food quality and customer service should be standard. We ended up waiting over an hour, and the food was served at such different times that it was impossible to have a proper meal together. We cannot recommend Canela Café and will certainly not return.

Went here for our last meal out before flying home the following day. Just wish we'd gone there earlier in our holiday. Nice friendly staff, very nice burgers. Would recommend the nacho starter.

Great experience! Friendly staff, great food, cold beer. Had the nachos, awsome! The chicken fingers for the kids are homemade. The ribs were tender and the meat fell off the bone the wife loved the burgers! Definitely should try it.

Nice place in Lajares with a good variety to choose from. Staff was friendly and effective. Maybe our choice was not good. The falafel burger was not great, fries were similar to any fast food chain, and the chili con carne burrito was average. The salmon poke was good. Affordable prices. Less than 20 EUR per person. Good place for breakfast, nothing special but varied options available, but somewhat small in size. Live music on site in the evenings. Spacious and comfortable. Limited seating outside. Can pay with card. Friendly staff. Worth a stop if you’re passing by.

Best restaurant we’ve tried in whole Fuerteventura (tried most of the top ones on TripAdvisor). Nice prices, great atmosphere, fantastic service and excellent delicious food! The burgers are absolutely amazing, and I can also recommend the Nachos Locos. A huge portion, and tastes so yummy! Been there twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. Going back tomorrow for breakfast, before heading home.

This is by far the best Indian in Corralejo, the flavours in each curry are amazing, Starters and side dishes are lush, they catered for my daughters 21st birthday and just re-visited again today. The staff are really friendly and cannot do enough for you. Would highly recommend any curry lovers to visit. OUTSTANDING from Dale & Sue

I had an amazing experience at Indian Tandoori Spices in Corralejo. The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors, and prepared with great care. The service was equally impressive. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. It’s clear that both quality and hospitality are top priorities here. If you’re in Corralejo and looking for excellent Indian cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended!

The food was absolutely amazing 🤩.. Dipika, who served us was very sweet and helpful. The food was so good, that I went for lunch the next day too 😍.. and the Quantity is great as well. Hats off to the Chefs as well as the whole staff for being so welcoming ☺️

Just been to Spices Corralejo for another fantastic meal today. Large menu choice and would highly recommend the vegetable pasanda and peshwari naan. Staff and owners are very polite and remember previous customers. You never feel rushed whilst having a meal. Would never go elsewhere

I just had the Chana Masala for dinner. They asked me the level of spicy-ness. I told spicy. Then they served me the meal with rice . The meal was delicious! I tasted the masala on every level and the chickpeas in it were a good amount of soft. I also tasted the spicy-ness and it had just the right edge. Also, the workers were nice and happy. Furthermore, the atmosphere in the restaurant is good because of good vibes and other customers enjoying their food. If you want to eat good Indian food, this is the place.

It was for sure the best food I had all around fuerteventura and more . The food was extremely tasty , the service was absolutely amazing . I am so glad to have found this place and to everyone who is in doubts where to eat in fuerteventura I would say just reserve that table and order because you will have an incredible experience . Great restaurant. Service is not rushed but the food is excellent. Good wine list. We had the Iberian pork fillet which was cooked to perfection but the absolute star was the bulls tail ravioli. Possibly the best ravioli dish I’ve eaten- light but packed full of flavour A wee decanter of limoncello to finish was a lovely touch Can’t recommend enough

Just had a beautiful meal here. Excellent service. We hadn't booked, which I would now recommend. But they made a table available for us. Had to vacate by 21.30. But as it was just after 19.00, that was not going to be an issue. The lamb ravioli was delicious.

I've been to Italy a couple times and lots of Italian restaurants over the years but had to come to Fuerteventura for the best Italian food I've ever had 😁 To make things even better, the staff (possibly the owners?) were super nice and friendly. They're obviously very proud and happy in their restaurant and who can blame them. They also took time to be super nice to my 7 month pregnant girlfriend and shared anecdotes about Italian food and a visit to our hometown (Dublin). An absolute must visit if you're in Fuerteventura and have a hankering for some of the best pasta you'll ever have.

Let's start with the best: the food... which is amazing! Even the pitted olives are extremely tasteful. 5/5 Had a long wait though with the owners (I guess these 2 are a couple and owning the place) giving more attention to other guests. It would be a 3.8/5 But then the bill; an additional 1.50eur for cutlery and service. It's a more common thing in Italy, but we are here in Spain! For that also no tip; they applied their own already. When asking attention for this, they felt offended. A no go zone out of principle...very unfortunate. ************* After reading your reply, I've adjusted the 2 stars to 1 as it should be 0. Crazy defense strategy in which by the way I didn't even use any bread! Pasta is enough already. The olives (which weren't finished either) were very tasty though! The tip you already included yourself (by italian standards, not Spanish) has gone to an amazing waitress. Good luck!

I recently visited this restaurant that, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations in terms of the food quality and overall experience. However, I do want to acknowledge the friendly waitresses who did their best to make our visit enjoyable. While the atmosphere of the restaurant was decent, the food left a lot to be desired. The dishes lacked flavor and were not prepared to the standard I was expecting.

We came back to a newly opened citrus. It looks really amazing and the eating experience was again very nice! The smoothies were fresh and full of flavor. The “boring burger” was juicy and the tropical yoghurt tasty. Till next time!

Really good food and huge portions for a small price. My favorite was bbq ribs for a big hungry :) nice atmosphere. Breakfast option for 5 euros including juice and coffee it’s a good deal.

The restaurant has a central location and the food is good. Furthermore, the prices are really fair and the waiters are nice. The internet is also good and ideal for working online. Definitely recommendable.

Great interior design, very urban and stylish with a variety of interesting dishes. We will come back for sure (even though there is no more xevapi, pljeskavica and burek ) it is still great and very friendly staff. Well done!

Not sure whether the place had recently had a refurb or had reopened but inside looked smart and fresh. Ordered pizza and gourmet nachos. Both very fresh and tasty. Smoothies were also very nice. Waitress was very friendly and service and price were great. We visited twice and will visit again when I come to Corralejo next time.

I love this place, so far, the best pizza I've had. Also, I really enjoyed the caprese salad. Nice red wine. Staff are friendly and attentive. All perfectly cooked. Next visit I'm ordering the Lasagna, it looked really good.

Really tasty pizza and super quick takeaway! We even had time to enjoy an espresso while waiting. Service was a little rough, but the speed and quality made up for it.

Excellent Pizza and also the self made Tortellini was very delicious! Attention, not all noodles are self made but also very tasty e.g. Gnocchi.

It was OK. Wouldn't make a beeline to head back there. Server was class. Commented on his incredible English, but then was served Garlic prawns rather than mushrooms. Pasta was mediocre, nothing to shout about. Price point is around 18€ per person for main and drink.

Best pizzeria for sure! We had take out and was so impressed we went back on a different evening and ate in! Very authentic with a pizza oven in part of the the main restaurant which makes it very hot (only negative thing to say). Portion sizes are big and would suggest sharing starters! All in all would definitely recommend and would return!

Amazing pizzas and fresh pasta. The combinations of ingredients very tasty. The staff is very kind. And the extra tip, have the pizza with nutella for desert, amazing.

Unfortunately the food was not delicious at all. We packed it to go because we couldn’t eat it. The octopus is not fresh, the meatloaf was not meatloaf and was horrible. We paid 50€ for the worst meal of our lives. We took it because we didn’t have to feel like we threw out money away. Trying to figure out how to re-cook it to be edible. Service is ok but the food was such a disappointment.

I felt quite hungry and heard that it was cheap, i thought I'd try it. Sadly I was very disappointed. I ordered the octopus vinaigrette. It didn't look fresh, as you can see in the photo, and it was very small considering I ordered a full portion. I would have given 1 star, but when complained and said I would not pay for it, they took it away, and that was that thank goodness.

Perfect local restaurant with a GOAT meat on the menu. Delicious baby goats dish. My wife loves it. We stopped there on our way back to El Cotillo. And we didn't regret it. Everything was tasty and tender.

Great place to have some local food. We had goat croquetas and grilled octopus with tipical papas con mojo. Nice please to have some comfort food!

Went a few months ago and had to wait 50 minutes for our food. Watched how other tables who were locals and arrived later than us were served before us. Went again today and the restaurant was almost empty. Same story 45minutes wait. Food not bad a bit salty but by the time it arrives you have eaten the whole bread basket with the comercial ali-oli sauce, drank your beer and aren't hungry anymore! Give it a pass unless you are locally known

cool bit rustic place at Lajares, they have amazing coffee (not very usual at Fuerte :D) which they are roasting by themselves. The food is also great, very reasonably priced and staff is lovely. I will definetely come back. Sweet touch for me, they serve glass Coke, love it.

Not ashamed to say I’m a bit of a coffee snob and the coffee here is up there with the best I’ve had anywhere, and definitely the best I’ve had in Spain. It feels like a much lighter roast than you often get, probably down to the fact they roast their own beans. The coffee was so good, we even bought some of the beans to take home.

This cafe was great! It was so good we made it here twice during our stay in Fuerte Ventura! I enjoyed #9 both times (why not stick to tried and true)? Many of the options were tempting and I am a picky eater. The staff was friendly and nice! A very relaxed atmosphere !

Very good coffee from a experienced and very friendly barista. They‘re roasting their own coffee and give you options on which beans you would like to have for your coffee. I can really recommend their Ethiopian beans 👍 Food was also great, so good place to spend some time.

The restaurant was quite busy, with a lively atmosphere mostly filled with locals. The food was okay — decent but could definitely be better. Service was generally good, friendly and attentive enough. Overall, a nice spot for a casual local experience.

Food is excellent and plentiful, really good value. Staff is attentive and welcoming. Great atmosphere, good laugh and pleasant locals. 2 drinks, pincho board, canarian potatoes, half mix charcuterie and a barraquito £35.

We had a lot of things and enjoyed everything. Missing on the picture are the pinchos which were absolutely a great experience too. Very good place!! The ribs were ok, but not special. Especially good were the avocado/prawn bruschetta, the meatballs, chicken fingers and also the poke bowl.

This is an amazing restaurant. We had the Pinchos as a starter to share between the three of us, then for mains one had Ribs, one had Tuna Steak and one had Roast Chicken. All the food, the service, the atmosphere and the price were amazing. You got to go and check it out.

We probably ended up on the wrong day. The waitress didn’t even bother to look at us, messed up everything we ordered—a lemon Fanta instead of sparkling water, and for dessert, instead of vanilla ice cream spaghetti, we got a mushy mess with apples and a scoop of ice cream. The fried fish was drowning in oil.

Closed on Friday 4th July 2025 at 5.35pm, no notice or sign on the door, or on Facebook / Google Maps, according to a nearby business they're closed for the whole of June but I've no idea if that's correct. All I know is I drove here especially, not impressed with it being closed.

Glad I stopped here. In short; Coffee excellent. Food excellent. Service excellent. Would I return... Dam straight I would! Beautiful atmosphere, really clean and tidy. Staff super attentive, professional and friendly. Seating was super comfy. There's WiFi there and plug points at the benches towards the back. Coffee was strong and at a drinkable temperature. Food was phenomenal. Thank you for a quality experience.

La Paneteca is a real gem! We were here near 8.30 on the morning… Everything is fresh and still warm, as if it just came out of the oven. Croissants, buns, pastries — they simply melt in your mouth! They also serve delicious fresh juices that perfectly complement the baked goods. The atmosphere is lovely: modern interior, clean and cozy, and the staff are always smiling and friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back to La Paneteca — again and again! 🌟

This place is food heaven, everything we have had has been amazing, the coffee is fabulous, I can't rate this place highly enough Always a pleasure to visit and definitely come back too.

Cute little place for breakfast mainly. Delicious orange juice, nice coffee. Pastries were delicious. Friendly staff. Service a bit confusing when you’re not from there. You can sit at a table and order through a QR code which I didn’t know. Other than that, would recommend 100%.

We have been here before and enjoyed it. Today the tuna was bad, chewy, tasting very fishy and not fresh. Upon complaint they replied in a rude manner tone that their tuna is like that and charged it although it was not edible. Shame, been coming here for 5 years, won’t be coming again.

Hubby went here after a skate at the bowl... he loved how the service was impeccable and the drink perfect. So we went for a meal as a family. The food and service was fabulous. we had to leave early as one child was not feeling well, but they boxed the pizza, checked we were all OK and couldn't have done more. Loved it - we had amazing pizzas, a chicken salad, beers and cocktails, we hadn't booked and despite them being fully booked (we arrived at 6pm when they opened), they were happy to let us sit in the open air bar area.... Complete with patio heater. Lovely place. Highly recommended. Busy and booked up for a reason.

This food was just heaven! Such nice little specialties. Also a wide variety of beers and wines. The cheese were also delicacies. The location is a little drive from Coralejo and quite in de dark but you can nicely sit outside under the heaters. Definitely recommend going here for dinner!

Really excellent food. Great service. Good range of beers and wines. Slightly limited menu choices but everything we had was fantastic. Stools to sit on were uncomfortable, definitely need seat backs.

For a value night out, try this Pizzeria. The pizza is good, you can choose from a wide range of options to suit your taste. I always enjoy a beer to wash down the pizza, and the beer selection here is good also. There are lots of snugs to settle into, so you're able to enjoy a quiet spot to have your food. The service was great. We got a great welcome as we came through the door from the bar man. Our orders were taken after we sat down. Our drinks arrived before we had settled into our seats. The pizza arrived not long after that. I will return

Really nice place to eat Pizza in Lajares, please reserve a table as this one is reserved-out quite easily. The staff made it possible to eat with a group of 8 people even without reservation, though we had to sit on 2 seperate tables - but we coul enjoy the awesome Pizza :-)

Paid €81 and €40 was the mixed grill for 2 (which was great and the steak was massive!!) but we had 1 bottle of house wine, 1 bottle of water, 1 cappuccino and 1 brandy and they came to €41. So yes this island is starting to match uk for prices. 😔

Ordered fried baby goat, barely any meat on the plate mainly bones with a bit of meat, but the potatoes on the side were good. Flies kept crawling all over me and flying around me and my food. Very expensive also.

Nice place. Was quiet when we went but good food and nice staff. Have seen many versions of this place over the years... right now is a good version. Had a gorgeous steak and the goat stew is better than most (can be hit and miss anywhere. Is just pot luck I think)

The food was ok. The drinks were ok and the atmosphere was busy and lively. I didn't find a kitty of taste in the food and the drinks weren't as tasty as other places. Stopped here for lunch after hiking the Volcano, (reviewed). Superb friendly service and tasty food. My partner had the chicken and bacon salad (9euro), whilst I had the special which was Cod salad plus small beer (9.5euro). The lady even booked us a taxi.

We had an enjoyable light lunch here before walking to Calderon Hondo. The grilled octopus was very good and not chewy.

It’s a very cozy and nice place! Owners are very friendly and welcoming. We came here for dinner, for drinks and for dessert everytime it was amazing. Fair prices and and amazing service. Sometimes they have live music as well.

Secret Garden is my favorite food place on the island. The vibe was relaxed, the staff kind and attentive. We didn’t wait long for the food and we felt very welcomed. The food was fresh and tasted like homemade food should taste - made with love. For the setting, regional, fresh food and atmosphere, the prices are more than fair. It’s not a fast-paced place, but that’s kind of the point. If you’re into slowing down and enjoying good food in a beautiful spot, this is it.

I highly recommend this place! From the first moment we knew we were in the right place. Overall the area feels very cozy, fragrant and clean. We arrived without a reservation on a Monday and the guys from the service (I forgot to ask for their names) were very friendly and welcoming. They warned us that on Mondays and Tuesdays it is usually very busy as many restaurants in Lajares are closed on these days and we need a reservation. However, they had no problem adding us to the waiting list and within half an hour we had a table. The food was on the table really quickly and was truly exceptional. In my opinion, it is a mix of Indonesian and Asian cuisine, which offers a lot of interesting flavors. Thank you for the great service and for the great food, we really enjoyed our dinner and even though we had to wait a while, it was really worth it. This place and the people working there really deserve 5 stars. We will definitely come back!

un lugar hermoso con corazón We arrived around 18:00, which was the secret of the secret garden to enjoy it as basically the only guests and experience some nice chatting with relaxed and super friendly staff. Had various starters, which were presented lovely and everything was very fresh and tasty. The garden is truely a real gem, you dine surrounded by bananas and palms, shaded by beautifully curated trees, shielded and protected by an ancient stone wall with exactly the right amount of decay to give it some real character. On this desert island, this is truely an oasis. Truely enjoyed tapping the tip button here.

Beautiful place! I felt like I would be in the middle of the jungle haha. Staff was so welcoming and nice. Food was delicious and the portions were adequate.

Went for dinner with our little girl and everyone was amazing, the food was brilliant and the location so tranquil. We had an issue with the taxi on the way home - it didn’t come and the manager said no worries and took us back to our accommodation - the owner needs to give this guy a huge pay rise as he was amazingly kind. Absolutely delicious burger (I had the one with queso de cabra frito and mojo). Really enjoyed the unique Canary Islands flavours and the chips were super crispy. Only downside is that it is quite expensive so wouldn’t be able to come very often

After reading the reviews, we knew we had to visit Camello Bandido, and we weren’t disappointed! The crispy chicken burger was deliciously fried and crunchy, yet not dry (for the first time, I actually finished the burger in one piece, which shows how well it was put together). My partner had La Volcánica, which was an experience in itself—black bun, fried cheese, and perfectly seasoned, cooked meat. The owner was very friendly and chatty, which added to the overall experience—it was so nice to meet you! We would come again if we didn’t have a flight back home before they opened the next day!

We really enjoyed the burgers from Bandido's they could almost be the best in Lajares!! The south of the island may have the beaches but the north of the island is where the best food is, so make your way out the hotel and go get you some canarian culture!! Remember a true Bandido never shares his chips. (They also have nice t-shirts)

Juicy burgers, cooked fresh to order. Variety of options and sides and at "normal" prices. I would have preferred a better selection of drinks to match the cool vibes, instead of the usual drinks found everywhere. Great service, very friendly and welcoming. The owner is very nice and makes you feel comfortable as if you were good friends.

Probably some of the best chicken I've ever tasted! The sides were delicious, the dips were delicious, and the cheesecake was incredible. 100% worth a visit!

The chicken is some delicious. We loved the seasoning and the side dishes as they were just the right size for 2 people.

They got a lot of beer assortiment, you need to check. The glasses is also frozen what is very good and keep the beer cold. The ribs are superior, the best I had in Fuerteventura, but unfortunately the chicken was not warm and very dry, maybe it was from yesterday and they just heat up. I think the fries is homemade, that was good.

Super chill place with a delicious chicken. The chicken was very soft, juicy and with a lot of seasoning, perfect! Potato wedges and fries comes with a choice of sos 😍 very delicious too. Definitely recommended place after the walk down from volcano 🌋😍

This place is fantastic for chicken.the portions were very generous. We got the pulled chicken burger corn on the cob and patats bravas with spicy sauce and coleslaw and two beers. This meal was the nicest we had all week on our holiday so tasty and didn't break the bank. Don't pass by this place , drop in for food.. totally worth it !
