To dine at Hangten Rooftop Restaurant, you may encounter a lengthy queue during busy hours. It is advisable to increase the number of staff members to handle such rushes. The restaurant's interior could benefit from a partial refurbishment and additional seating, particularly near the window area where there is currently no provision for sitting. Taking pictures may be challenging due to the crowded environment. The quality of coffee served is satisfactory.
This place has a very good atmosphere! I love it. 🫶🏼✨️❤️ Every morning, I watched surfers in the ocean during breakfast and enjoyed great music. The breakfast was very tasty! Sweet and savory options. 😇 🥑🍳🌯🍤🥞🫐🍓🥥 The smoothies and juices were delicious too! 🍹🥭🍍🥕🥤We tried a different option every day. The prices were normal compared to other restaurants in this location. Also, you can buy a postcards with a stamp here and send them straight away! ✉️🌍 So I definitely recommend visiting this place! ❤️

I visited this restaurant for both breakfast and dinner, and I absolutely loved the experience. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. For breakfast, we had the Banana Pancakes and Shakshuka, both of which were amazing. I also have to mention the espresso , it was so good that I ended up having two in a row For dinner, we tried the Chicken Parmigiana and Smash Cheeseburger. The Chicken Parmigiana was excellent, while the Smash Cheeseburger was a bit disappointing (I think they might have forgotten the cheese), but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. I also have to highlight their juices, they are huge and incredibly tasty. Overall, this place is fantastic, and I would definitely come back again

This place feels so good. I relaxed, took my time, and enjoyed amazing coffee and delicious food. You can even create your own dish by choosing the ingredients you want. The staff is beyond excellent—completely dedicated to what you ask for.

Perfect spot and view of the ocean 🙌 they have a great choices of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner on great prices (lower than usual but very good quality and amount). The vegan bowl was huge and full of protein, I loved that you can create your own avo/breakfast toast! They also have a selection of sweet baked goods every day. King coconut + watermelon was quite refreshing! Taste + View = Go to 😝
Julia D — Google review
I had the smash burger and it was lush!! So flavourful and makes a perfect lunch or dinner. You can watch the beach from this restaurant and I really enjoyed my time here✨

Had 2 amazing meals at this restaurant. The best burger ever and delicious fish and chips. Arresh our server was extremely welcoming and attentive. Great atmosphere with a view of Weligama beach. One night we came and had live music. Would 100% recommend.
Anoushka J — Google review
Super Tasty food for a reasonable price. The place is really chill and has a great view.
Ol E — Google review
The food is really delicious except for the toast with goodies- They brought me dry bread, five pieces of avocado and the egg was full of butter so it wasn't tasty. But the rest of the food is excellent, we came back here to eat lunch almost every day. The burger and pesto pasta are really good. Prices compared to other places are reasonable

Nestled along the stunning shores of Dewata, The Shack Beach Cafe is a hidden gem that beckons beachgoers and surfers alike. With its sleek dark-tinted glass exterior, it may not reveal much at first glance, but step inside and you'll discover a culinary paradise. This laidback surf cafe serves up an array of delectable dishes that celebrate the flavors of the ocean and local ingredients.
Love this place! We spent pretty much every afternoon here for seven days in a row. Super chill vibe, nice lounges. The food is delicious, and the cocktails are great too! Also perfect if the monsoon catches you by surprise – you can play billiards, darts, and table tennis. There's also a great surfboard rental just around the corner, run by incredibly friendly and welcoming owners!

Popped in yesterday to see if Australian AFL Grandfinal would be televised. Told yes so we turn up for Footy, breakfast and a beer. They are having internet problems and can't get tv to work. Had 4 staff trying everything including setting up another TV outside. They called in the boss. Probably on his day off!!!! He gets it sorted. I could have kissed him! Awesome venue absolutely on the ocean. Staff are unbelievable. Food beautiful. They deserve a 20/10. We can't thank you enough. So great to watch the grandfinal while out of the country.

The Beach Shack is the perfect name for this place. It’s a rustic, unassuming, yet tidy beachfront spot with top-notch coffee, a tiki-style bar, surfboard rentals, a pool table, ping pong, live music, and an all-around great relaxed vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly — by the end of the week, they were even delivering coffee to our nearby room! A relaxed and welcoming place that was out go-to coffee spot for out time in the area.
Lindsay T — Google review
If you want to eat vegetarian, go elsewhere. The food is good but the options for a veggie are very limited. The staff are friendly and seem fine making adjustments where possible. A shame really but if you eat meat, there is a lot more on offer.
Torit P — Google review
Great view of the water while you eat. Though generally the place feels more like a hostel chill area. Food was delicious, though portion sizes are quite small! The service was friendly, though forgot to give me back my change. My main issue was with the owner (British) who made my male friend and I very uncomfortable. He spoke very inappropriately such as not having been with someone born in the 2000s and "good job" to my friend. Be warned female travellers

Amazing place, amazing vibe. Went there 4 times in one week. Great surf rental nearby. Service was great. And food aswell. The cocktails were classs.

Ceylon Sliders is a laid-back hotel that offers simple and well-appointed rooms and suites, some of which offer scenic ocean views. The establishment caters primarily to surfers. Recently, the BBB Beef Burger at Ceylon Sliders was sampled and found to be exceptionally delightful. The burger was flawlessly prepared to personal preference and boasted a succulent beef patty with unparalleled tenderness.
Review of the restaurant: Almost every day we went here for a pre surf coffee and sometimes had Juices and some food. Very friendly staff and tasty coffee. It was very quiet and is a hidden gem. Perfectly if you wanna surf near to Island point.
Steve H — Google review
My young family and I loved Ceylon Sliders: the staff were beautiful hosts, the menu was varied, fresh and tasty and the coffee was great! We stayed in the private Ceylon Weli House just along the road and loved the space, interiors and privacy. Loved it so much we’ve been there, done that and literally bought the t shirt!
Antonia O — Google review
We specifically came to the café for a special occasion. Last season we enjoyed it, but this time we were first told we could go upstairs, and then the manager refused. Our time was wasted. If some areas are closed, it should be stated in advance – nothing about this is mentioned on Google Maps.
Vitya B — Google review
A cozy and modern hotel with two spacious rooms, each with its own balcony. The espresso machine makes breakfast especially enjoyable. In the evenings, you can enjoy great drinks on the rooftop terrace. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They even parked our scooter in the courtyard each evening. Thanks to the hotel's security, someone was on-site 24/7. We stayed for a total of six nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Many thanks to the fantastic team!
João T — Google review
We had a fabulous time at Ceylon Sliders. The staff was super friendly and warm. They treated us very well and made sure that we felt welcomed. We were here for 3 nights initially but extended our stay further. The ocean is just in front and the beach is also few meters only. Suresh guided us very well during our stay and where all to visit.
Bhavya J — Google review
Came here on the low season. The rooms are good, the only down side is that you can here the main road and the honks of the buses. Good and clean bathroom. We saw some ants, but nothing special. Also a good breakfast, you can choose between the five options of the brunch and a coffee and juice. In general really good.

Very nice place for a brunch. Quiet and pleasant to have a peaceful breakfast. The coffee is very good. The burger (that’s what I had) was very good too.

Café Scenic Rooftop & Bar in Weligama is a true treasure for food lovers and those seeking breathtaking views. This charming spot offers a delightful array of dishes, from scrumptious surf and turf tacos to mouthwatering chicken fajitas, all beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The friendly staff enhances the inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal place to unwind over a meal or enjoy quality time with friends.
Great location with panoramic views of the bay. Food was fresh and tasty. Wine was ice cold, cocktails amazing. Service was prompt, friendly and happy. We went here for dinner and the view was great being full moon. Wish we had have found this place earlier and watched sunset from here.

Very nice place with amazing views and the stuff really friendly. I had a smoothie bowl and was delicious! Thank you so much for the good attention! I will come back for sure.

Café Scenic View in Weligama is an absolute gem! The food was delicious, well-presented, and definitely worth the price. They have a great variety of options to choose from, making it easy to find something for everyone. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall wonderful experience. The ambiance is lovely, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a good meal. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Weligama!
Kisali M — Google review
It's a very nice terrace with spectacular views. It may be a little more expensive than other places, but it was very comfortable. Since it was low season, the coffee machine wasn't working and they didn't have many drinks, but otherwise it was a very pleasant place
Álvaro L — Google review
Great Brunch location with an amazing view. The food was great so were the drinks
Kraft T — Google review
Had breakfast here during our stay at Scenic Hotel. The place looks great, and the food was nicely presented. I also liked that the menu isn’t too large. However, I wasn’t really impressed overall. The taste and quality didn’t quite match the visual appeal. It didn’t feel like the ingredients were the freshest—our avocado was very brown, and one of our dishes with a fried egg arrived cold. We also experienced long waits for both coffee and food, and everything didn’t come out at the same time. That said, the smoothie bowl and coffee were actually very good! If this were my business, I’d tone down the “fanciness” a bit and focus more on quality and timing—it would make a big difference.

Nestled within the enchanting Jungle Beach Retreat, Silent Pup Restaurant & Bar is a hidden gem that feels like a slice of paradise. Surrounded by vibrant greenery and the soothing sounds of nature, this café offers an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle. The culinary offerings are nothing short of spectacular, featuring fresh seafood and local delicacies that promise to tantalize your taste buds with every bite. Guests rave about dishes like seafood noodles and coconut prawns, though some minor details could be improved upon.
Excellent smashed avocado & egg on toast. Was a relief to find great tasting western food. The mojito was perfect as well, very minty & fresh (whereas other places make it with a bizarre artificial cordial syrup & not even mint). The coffee wasn’t good though, watery, but I still give the place 5 stars because everything else felt good. Grounds are clean & garden seating is relaxing & comfortable. Some staff are chatty & friendly

We grabbed a bite at this little spot by the sea…and wow! We had the fresh tuna salad which was super refreshing, but the fish burger? One of the craziest, very crispy, most delicious things I’ve ever tasted! Great vibes, amazing service, and we even bought some cool merch tees on the way out. Definitely coming back!

Super nice and relaxing place a few steps away from the beach. The food was stunning - especially the fish curry, which was absolutely perfect - the tuna steak was a bit overdone sadly, but served with a nice wash (instead of spinach). Slightly pricy, but still very acceptable for the quality of the food. Would definitely come back and hang out there again!

Located right on Jungle Beach Retreat. Tucked away in the heart of the jungle, this place is a getaway! Let's talk location – it's like something out of a postcard. Surrounded by lush greenery, the beach feels like your own private paradise. Seriously, the peace and quiet here are unreal. And the food? Oh man, it's top-notch. From fresh seafood to local specialties, every bite is a flavor explosion. Trust me, that's the best food I had in Srilanka! The drinks are perfectly done, and so good. Staff make you feel like home. A highlight of my trip!

My favourite place in Weligama next to Jungle Beach. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is amazing and the staff is EPIC. I highly recommend Layback Rooftop Café as it offers delicious food and excellent coffee. It is one of the best places to enjoy a meal in Sri Lanka. The dishes not only taste great but are also perfect for taking Instagram-worthy pictures. The staff is friendly, making for a pleasant and easygoing atmosphere. The overall vibe of the café is relaxing, friendly, and welcoming. While the Wi-Fi works well, there may be some connectivity issues on the upper rooftop.
Layback Rooftop Café is such a vibe! The atmosphere is super chill, with cool and comfortable design—perfect for socializing or just finding a quiet corner to soak up the sun and take in the views. The food selection was amazing, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious. I was especially thrilled when the staff accommodated my daily hot chocolate request, even though it wasn’t on the menu. The service was impeccable, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I genuinely loved every moment here and can’t wait to go back. Such a fantastic experience!

Amazing brunch spot in Weligama! We tried almost everything on the breakfast menu including the Labneh poached eggs, the breakfast bowl, the breakfast muffin, the smoothie bowl, the avocado toast, shakshuka, and loved everything. The service is excellent as well as the entire space inside and on the rooftop. We also tried the bang bang chicken and it was so good! A must-visit when in Weligama! Also our favorite smoothie was the tropical one, SO good!
Ashley W — Google review
Great Spot with a Beautiful Ambience We visited this brunch spot, known for its beautiful decor, surfer vibe, and delicious breakfast. We ordered two avocado toasts and one with scrambled eggs and chickpeas. The second portion was massive— even as someone who eats a lot, I struggled to finish it! The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the portions are huge. Personally, I’d rather pay half the price and get half the portion, which would be more than enough. It’s a super Instagrammable spot, perfect for snapping photos while enjoying your meal!
Michael R — Google review
Don't miss it, you won't be sorry! Fresh food made with care and beautifully presented. Great vibes: suitable for a romantic meal, a quiet spot to work, a place to chill and play games with a group of friends or solo travellers to meet surfers to swap tips and stories. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Cozy on a rainy day and beautiful on a sunny day, it's a dreamy café!
A. R — Google review
The food at Layback Rooftop is really, really good. Most of the dishes are Western. Everything feels fresh, colourful, and beautifully presented. It’s also very vegan-friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Overall, it’s the kind of place where you just feel good and want to stay a little longer.
Nikita P — Google review
A very hipster-style establishment offering food options for vegetarians, vegans, and those who are gluten intolerant. We ordered the poached eggs with labneh and the chicken burger. The eggs were great - reminiscent of a creative take on Turkish eggs - but the chicken burger ended up being quite dry, and the accompanying seven potato wedges didn’t help elevate the dish
Rolanda — Google review
Best Shakshuka on the island, not spicy (even it has to be by a receipt), not sinked totally in oil, portion isn't small. You have to try it here if you like it at all. Third floor is ventilated very well (maybe it is a windy day) and sun cannot reach you. I'm sure I'll visit the place a few times more.

PLAN B Weligama is a beloved cafe in the heart of Weligama, offering a peaceful and relaxed oasis away from the bustling main road. The friendly crew, delicious coffee, and delectable food options such as brownies, granola bowls, and hoppers make it a must-visit spot. With a variety of savory, fruity, fresh, and vegan options available on the menu, there's something for everyone.
Gorgeous spot with a super relaxed vibe and lightning-fast WiFi. They serve great specialty coffees alongside all your classic favorites — perfect for a chill work session or a slow afternoon. The food is outstanding. The mahi mahi on creamy mushroom risotto with zucchini and a hint of lime sauce was an absolute highlight. Service was warm, attentive, and totally on point. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

A fantastic spot! We’ve been coming here every day for matcha and croissants — their pastry dough is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Cloud Matcha, which they make with soy cream and fresh coconut milk. It’s vegan and incredibly good. We’re coming back again tomorrow because they’re saving us a cinnamon roll — they sell out quickly, and after four days of trying we still haven’t managed to get one! The staff has been truly lovely, always kind and helpful. On top of that, the place is super cozy and they even have a co-working area. Highly recommended!
Marta S — Google review
The food was amazing! I am the third time in Weligama and have to say it’s the best restaurant. We had the smash burger and for dessert we had the chocolate crossaint which was a little bit dry due to our late dinner, but the apple crumble was very good! Krishan was very nice and attentive. Will come again!
Sükran — Google review
Went for breakfast and the setting was nice. Ordered 2 avo smash and poached eggs and pancakes. Took a while to arrive but it was quite busy. The one avo smash had cold poached eggs and the other had the end of the loaf of the sourdough bread. Usually that would be fine but the portion was quite small, only having one slice of sourdough. In addition to this the bread was also slightly stale: not great. But the flavours of everything were pleasant and married up nicely. The vegan pancakes were also well received.

Plan B Weligama is a lovely spot just off the beachfront which opens up into an atmospheric courtyard. I came for dinner, both the service and food were excellent. I’m sure to come back for smoothie bowls and coffee too! They also have a great co-working space too.

We have been 3 days in Weligama and 3 days in a row at Plan B. We have tried multiple things from the menu and everything is fresh and with a good quality. We have tried Hoppers, Blueberry Cheesecake, Jackfruit rolls and if you like quality coffee then that’s the place for that. The atmosphere is cozy and we liked the area where you can sit on the pillows. Servers are very professionals and friendly!

Wild Beach Cafe Food and Drinks is a charming spot nestled right by the shore, perfect for those looking to unwind with a meal after a refreshing swim. The beach cabana offers stunning ocean views, although seating can be on hard wood unless you request soft mats. With an inviting atmosphere run by a friendly local couple, this cafe serves up delicious dishes like chicken noodles and mouthwatering chocolate banana pancakes that are simply unforgettable.
I started with the chocolate banana pancake, and it was hands down the most delicious pancake I’ve had on my trip. It had a perfectly fried outside, soft banana inside, and a drizzle of chocolate that made it unforgettable—I wish I knew how to recreate it at home! Next, I tried the seafood rice, which was flavorful, but it contained sharp bone pieces, so extra caution is needed, especially for kids. I spent the rest of the time relaxing on the beach, which was a highlight. The water was clear, the sand was relatively soft (with some coral), and the seas were calm, making it perfect for lounging. The unique shells scattered on the beach added a nice touch to the experience. The prices were very affordable! Also, it is family run so you know it goes to a good place. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and highly recommend trying the pancakes—they’re a must!

Amazing little restaurant and bar right on a little protected beach perfect for a swim and a meal. They have wooden lounges right on the beach and you can ask for a soft mat to put on the lounge. I’ve been back here twice and going again for an afternoon swim and sunset. Run by a beautiful local couple who are super kind and friendly. I had the chicken noodles which was a huge serve and perfect with a couple of lion beers. They also have some shaded huts for the sun or if it rains a little.

Lovely little cafe straight at the beach which is run by a lovely family, very friendly people. The food is incredibly delicious! I had the best roti and dal so far with a beautiful view on the sea 🌊💛 Edit: was so lovely, I came several times

The best fried fish I've had in my entire life. Flavourtown, cooked to perfection. On top of that, right on the beach, stunning views, perfect for sunset. Highly attentive and kind family running the restaurant. Can't recommend it enough

Stopped here for some swimming and relaxation by the beach.I literally parked on the side of the street a few meters from the beach cabana. The beach cabana was nice but didn’t have any mats/padding so you just sit/lay on hard wood.great view of the ocean and little islands in the distance. You can lounge at the cabana for free as long as you buy food/drinks. I bought a coconut for 250lkr (reasonable for right on the beach).they had a good selection on their menu but a bit pricey. THE BEST FISH IN SRI LANKA! Absolutely amazing beach front food with the most beautiful view and lovely family, we had to come here 3 dinners in a row for the fried fish with rice included only 2400 lkr. We love Auntie ❤️ picture is from the table, very romantic spot for a couple

We have been two times already in less than a week. It is an ideal spot to watch the sunset taking a coconut water. You can also go into the water in the beach. Depending on the day the water is calm. We tried the coconut roti, is very good and a very good price. They serve it usually with something else, as dhal. The people working there is so friendly and attentive. They have always attend us with a smile and warm.

I revisited Luckys Surfcamp and discovered their newly opened rooftop cafe. It quickly became my favorite spot, as the atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable. The staff members were incredibly friendly, treating everyone like part of a big family. The drinks and food were exceptional, including a variety of beverages such as beer, cocktails, burgers, and juices. I particularly recommend trying their delicious Tunaburger. Moreover, the views from the cafe were fantastic with spot check being an added bonus.
Absolutely divine! Food was so fresh and tasty. We had cauliflower bites, loaded fries, fried seafood platter and the most delicious garlic prawns on a bed of rice with fresh veggies! The view is amazing and the service friendly and welcoming. Best meal we had in MIRISSA. Cocktails were good. Only regret is not getting here earlier for sunset views.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unforgettable Family Dinner at After Surf! We had an amazing family dinner at After Surf during our trip to Sri Lanka — easily one of the best meals we’ve had! The beachfront location is absolutely stunning, perfect for a relaxed evening with family. The food was outstanding — every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. But the highlight for me was the tuna — hands down the best I’ve tasted on this entire trip. Cooked to perfection and full of flavor! The service was equally impressive: friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a great meal with a view. Don’t miss this gem if you're in the area!

Amazing food! Great atmosphere and really friendly and flexible staff✨ We asked for a few adjustments since we don’t eat bacon and wanted something vegetarian 🌱 So far! The best meal we’ve had since we landed in Sri Lanka! Highly recommend for brunch, lunch or dinner. They have great variety of options that looks and taste soooo good!!

Wish we found this place earlier, I would have eaten here every day. We ordered a Tuna Burger and Papa’s Grilled Tuna. Best tuna I ever had. Was so tender and grilled to perfection, served with delicious mash potatoes and veggies. Tuna burger came with yam fries that were also so good! For dessert had a legit key lime pie. Our waiter Pasindu was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant! Made my tastebuds and tummy so happy.
Marcyhilario — Google review
Absolutely amazing. As a girl from California, fish and shrimp tacos are a standard. And the ones here made my California heart proud. The passion fruit cheesecake and keylime pie were so good, we couldn't decide which we liked more. Also one of the few places we found that has whiskey. The food was amazing and the atmosphere exactly matched the beach vibes around us. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

This place is just lovely - especially the staff (imesh and nadeesh, ruchika, banuka). They really make sure that you have a good time and that everything is alright. There aren‘t any other places where I experienced such a good service like here. The Coffee, the pancakes and the view are a 10/10! Make sure you swing by

We stayed at Lucky's Surf Camp so breakfast at After Surf was part of our day, but we would have ended up here a lot anyway. Everything we tried off the menu was delicious, we loved the tacos especially and the smoothie options. The staff were so friendly and attentive, we felt well taken care of every single time we came here. Definitely one of the must-dos when it comes to culinary experiences in Weligama!

They have amazing breakfast until 5 pm. Lunch and dinner als also really good. Coffee is awesome. We spent a week here and ate almost exclusively at after surf. Live music night was soooo soooo good 😊

CaVa is a charming bakery and coffee shop that offers a delightful breakfast experience. The menu features tasty Middle Eastern options such as hummus, sun-dried tomatoes, and babaganoush, as well as homemade granola. The friendly baristas create the perfect bumble coffee to accompany your meal in the welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, their amazing focaccia sandwiches are highly recommended, with the option to make them vegan without compromising on taste.
I love this place so much. The only cafe in Weligama where I can feel so comfortable. Coffee is so good, and the staff so lovely. I like to see a small menu because we know they care about quality more than quantity. Cava like home but better ❤️

Mama's cafe, located in Weligama, may not boast the same level of elegance as other restaurants in the area, but it offers a tranquil ambiance. The food served here is truly exceptional and reminiscent of homemade cooking. For lunch, one can savor the delightful cheese chicken kottu which stands out from its counterparts in Sri Lanka due to its moistness and delectable flavor.
Mamas has one of the best foods in weligama, made with love. She is incredibly attentive, cooks well and makes me feel as im at home. :)

They serve the best milkshakes for very fair prices and the people are so friendly and hospitable. The place is so authentic and calming.

Cute little spot right at the main road. The food was plenty and very good, same as the drinks. The team was extremely nice and welcoming and were also creating a very cool and chill atmosphere. You should definitely go there if you like both spice food but therefore huge portions (I didn’t even manage to finish half of mine even though it was really good.)

Lovely restaurant across the street from the Marriott. We loved the Chocolate banana roti and chicken and cheese koftu. We didn’t try them, but the burgers looked amazing. Super great value, amazing food. Bring cash, no credit cards.

The food is delish! We had breakfast here and wish to come back. The food was made with care. It felt like eating home. “Mama” and everyone here are super kind. The portions are big, and one tea pot is more than enough for two people. The place seemed to be going through some renovation but it didn’t bother us. Also, it wasn’t super easy to find it, but I’m glad we did! Definitely recommend 🌸🍀

RECOMMENDED! Amazing people, Amazing food, Amazing vibe This place was everything i was loonking for in the past days. It is not overhyped therefore it was not really crowded and the interrior is less european. It was not over complicated. We got what we payed for. Quick and delicious food. We consumed a double cheese pasta, and a cheese kottu. The kottu wasnt dry - HURRAY! The fried banana was amazing, loved it! Thanks, keep up the good work!

Nutry Cafe is a charming eatery located in Weligama, offering a delightful selection of Western breakfast options. The cafe provides a cozy atmosphere with ample seating on the first and second floors, allowing guests to enjoy the refreshing ocean breeze. While the prices may be slightly higher than average for Sri Lanka, visitors appreciate the European-like ambiance and quality of food. Absolutely amazing experience! Everything we tried was delicious, and the view from the upstairs seating is just unbeatable. You get the perfect, unobstructed view of the ocean. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy great food with a breathtaking view!

The go-to breakfast place. Atmosphere is great, the staff is supper attentive and nice. Went to other place to have bfast and it was a disappointment, so we end up coming here every day of our stay. The food is incredibly fresh and the smoothie bowls are just fantastic. They have a cute little puppy and a big black pit bull that gives extra joy. Couldn’t recommend more!

The burgers were AMAZING. It was soo good, we had the chicken burgers. We waited for like 20 minutes until the food came. The service is great and they prepare the food with love. There’s only a few seats here so bigger groups probably can’t fit here. But it’s 100% worth coming here!

I was really craving burger and fries. I found this place via google, so thought I would give it a try. I'm glad I did. The veggie burger did not disappoint. It was soooooo GOOD, better than expected actually! The burger was well constructed and filled. I needed 2 hands to eat it.The fries were also exceptional, salty and crunchy - just how I like them. I even asked for it to take away and it came in a proper box and everything. Lastly the people working and preparing were friendly, patient and polite. The price point was good, great value compared to some of the other places I've eaten in the area. Would highly recommend! 🍔🙂🍟

This place is a gem. Amazing food. This is a family owned business and the food was seriously so good. I had the jackfruit burger and it was so good. The bread was also very fresh.

Support small and local businesses 🥳 I happened to come across their tiny shop last night when I was on the search for ice cream haha. But I went elsewhere. However, the tiny shop stayed with me and I visited them for dinner. PS - Try their fried ice cream. Its interesting and worth trying. A small, hard working family (mother, son and presumably the daughter) are running the place. The food is delicious! And the service is warm and on-time. I'll come back again.

Memories Cafe is a charming place where the owner goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a delightful experience. The breakfast served is delicious, featuring fresh juices, tea or coffee, and delectable Sri Lankan omelettes with bread. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, some even equipped with private balconies offering scenic views. Guests appreciate the attentive host who addresses any concerns promptly. Additionally, there's a cozy cafe perfect for co-working and enjoying great food.
We stayed in the Deluxe Room with Balcony for one week and even extended a few more days. We felt really comfortable and loved coming home to this place. Our room was very spacious and there was enough space to store our stuff. The owner is very friendly and the included breakfast was super delicious, we really loved the fresh juice and pancakes. There are two water dispensers in the building to fill up your bottles and stay hydrated. Thanks for the nice stay, we can highly recommend this place.

Memories Cafe, offers a peaceful place to stay compared to the busier parts of town. Its location is ideal—just a short walk or motorbike ride to the center and the beach, yet tucked away enough to enjoy some tranquility. Host Shamilla is incredibly welcoming and helpful. The rooms are clean and cozy, with all the essentials for a relaxing visit. The common area and cafe are beautifully designed, featuring lots of plants that add a refreshing, natural vibe to the space. If you’re looking for a quiet yet convenient spot with great hospitality, Memories Cafe is a fantastic choice.

When we arrived here there was nobody. We had to call at least 15 times until she picked up the phone (mind you: we were standing there in a heavy storm). We told her we had a booking trough Hostelworld and she just said “we’re closed” and dropped the phone. After that we called again and said again we had a booking (mind you that we already paid a small amount in advance). She was SO UNFRIENDLY, told us she didn’t see the booking and she would not come to give us help with anything. She dropped the phone again and we stood there… in the middle of a town we don’t know, in the dark and in a big storm. Most unfriendly woman we met Sri-Lanka!!! 😤
Evva L — Google review
I loved staying here. It was very quiet and there weren’t many people, so I basically had the whole place to myself in the day whilst I did some work on my laptop (I visited in the off season). The hostess was amazing and kept bringing me cups of tea and breakfast. I felt right at home here. The communal area is comfortable and spacious and there are small homely touches like flowers and incense burning. There was air con and I had my own bathroom, which was excellent and very reasonably priced. The stay itself is a 10 minute walk from the centre, in the less western side of Weligama, so there was less bustle, which I enjoyed. Will definitely come back here when I head back down south. Thanks!
Jack G — Google review
Me and my boyfriend had a lovely time here, room was super clean and so was the hostel itself. We took breakfast included and it was very good and we loved that it got freshly made for us on arrival in the morning. The staff is very helpful and nice, always giving you a nice smile! We had a tuktuk so it was very quick and easy for us to get into town. Definitely recommend!

Lovely Clean rooms and bathroom. Super comfortable beds with a great air conditioning. Owners are really lovely and helpful, always asking if you need anything. Breakfast in the morning is great and they serve a really nice coffee. Beach is less that 200m walk from the front door! Highly recommend staying here!! :)

Don’t recommend at all!!! We arrived in the dark in the middle of a storm. At first we didn’t find the entrance but then we realised that nobody was here. We called the host and after more than 15 times she picked up the phone. She was NOT friendly at all. She told us she don’t recived a booking but we did and had proof. The lady told us she’s closed and don’t want to come. She dropped the phone in the middle of the conversation, we were standing there in a storm, soaked. We called again because of her we had no place to sleep or stay. She offered no help and dropped the phone AGAIN. The first person in Sri Lanka we met that was so selfish and unfriendly. We already payed but we will never see our money back. Don’t go there!

The place looks nice and has a good atmosphere. At the same time the food preparation is a big concern 🙁 First of all, we’ve been waiting for our dishes for the whole hour, despite the fact that when we came to this place, we were the only guests. The people who came after us were already enjoying their meals, while we were still waiting. Also when you come to the restaurant by the ocean, you expect fresh seafood. Meanwhile we got prawns, that were not fresh in my opinion (I even have a thought that they were frozen), as they were not as easy to peel as fresh. And the biggest highlight of our visit was the ceasar salad. We got just salad leaves with bread and sauce. And it costs 1850 Rs!!!! Way overpriced and unfortunately disappointing place.

What a lovely hidden gem . Found this place randomly after walking the beach hidden up a little backstreet up Weligama I was drawn in by the warm lights and cool looking place . My wife and myself were welcomed by very lovely staff , we had a chicken burger and a plate of perfectly cooked pasta . Washed it down with a few cocktails . Everything was lovely staff were very helpful and attentive. We will definitely go back again . Lovely experience thanks guys .

Great food, great service and really nice and relaxing setting. Located just off the main Weligama Bay Beach. Food was really tasty and filling, and the service was great, I had the vegetable curry. Rest of the menu looked really good so would definitely return. The cocktail menu also looked very good. Good for vegetarian options.
