Axil Coffee Roasters Hawthorn is a bustling cafe and roastery with an industrial vibe, featuring hanging lamps and a light menu. While the brand has multiple locations across Melbourne, the Hawthorn headquarters offers a quintessential experience. It's renowned in the city's coffee scene and even produced the winner of the 2022 World Barista Championship. The smoked trout wrap with scrambled eggs is highly recommended, and their expertly brewed coffees are not to be missed.

Axil coffee roasters has turned 15 years old this year, which I feel like is fitting and finally time for a review. I have frequented their beans for use at home but never actually visited! They have many locations across Melbourne. The one I’m visiting today in Hawthorn has a very large shop front/ dining area, with outside and inside seating too. The seat choices are multitudinous with bench seats if your prefer your butt being cushioned, tables for groups or pretty high stool seating too.
The decor is I would say “it’s own”. It feels snug but modern. There’s a large emphasis on hexagonal shapes and wood with walls that have a nice gradient and lighting which is perfectly soft and warming (especially at 7am in winter). Open air design (common now) which makes the place feel big and not stuffy. Starting to get busy just before 8am as you can tell it’s a popular spot for morning coffee / food for office workers.
The service I would say is prompt and pretty immediate. It’s a ship that’s tightly run and you can tell that the moment you walk in. Workers are friendly and are on a mission to get you your coffee asap!
From walking in, getting a seat to placing an order and then receiving my coffee was all in under 3 minutes which was almost incredible? Crazy fast. But fast doesn’t always mean good, But this time it did.
I ordered my usual, a double shot mocha which if the coffee is burnt you can taste it, or if it’s over extracted the coffee becomes thin and loses its glisten. But the coffee came out in a fantastically warm cup, was smooth and most importantly tasty with silky froth on-top. (I even forgot to take a photo before my first sip!). When I got to the bottom of the cup I did get some “grainyness” from the powder in the mocha but that’s expected when you aren’t using real chocolate in it.
One thing that’s worth noting is that the tables (atleast the 2 seater ones) are the most sturdy cafe table I have ever leaned on. You would have no trouble bringing a laptop in and typing away and don’t have to worry at all about the wiggle of the screen as you type your very important emails!
In the department of actually purchasing their beans, there is I believe a complete range of their products. From beans, pre ground for drip, espresso, instant coffee, pods and even ready to brew coffee bags.
If you are after a reliable and consistent coffee with no fuss, Axil coffee roasters is a great option out of the many out there.

Needed a quick brunch + good coffee fix- the pan fried pumpkin gnocchi was delicious. The candied hazelnuts worked surprisingly well with the crispy sage and pumpkin. Coffee was excellent as usual. Service was efficient, prompt and warm.
This was my first time to Axil's hawthorn branch, we had to visit as a friend of ours works here. The layout and decor is exactly what'd you expect from a company that prides themselves on quality coffee standards.
Their coffee is second to none and the food dishes were nice also.
We literally had a perfect breakfast here. So much so that we congratulated ourselves on the way out about what a great choice we made. Smug smug smug!! service was awesome and food was just perfect, temperature, amount, taste and appearance!
I’ve visited Axil many times and it is always great. The food is delicious and even when they are very busy the service is prompt. Highly recommend!

I was on my way to bunnings when I stumbled across this coffee place. So I went in ordered a small latte and a orange muffin. The coffee was richer in taste. Muffin was lovely and taste amazing. The time between order and collection was quick. Staffs were friendly as well.

We where looking for a place to have a breakfast today and this was the only place open in the area. We were not disappointed. The service was quick and the place was full but plenty of sitting still available. We quickly ordered and got exactly want we ordered quickly. The facilities are clean. The staff is nice. The prices are reasonable by today’s standard. Overall, highly recommend for a breakfast or just a coffee and dessert.

Really have some low IQ staff members at this store I purchased $66 worth of food through an app and they provided me with the a small portion of rice and two spoonfuls of lentils.
They even confirmed it was less value than $10 and they expected me to be ok with it. Let me know in advance by easily cancelling it through the app. The two store workers weren't even doing anything in their store they were closed.
So they definitely had time to go to the app to cancel the orders rather than me making a wasted journey.

We stopped by after reading glowing Google reviews, and we’re so glad we did! The food definitely lived up to the hype, especially the Louisiana Waffles, which were absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great vibe.
That said, we visited around 10am on a Saturday, and it was quite busy. There was a bit of a wait for our order, but it was totally understandable given the crowd. If you’re planning to go for brunch, I’d highly recommend reserving a table in advance.

This place is always busy, and now I know why! The food was great, the service was quick despite the crowd, and the atmosphere was lively. I’ve been here twice with my friends, and so far everything we’ve ordered has tasted fantastic! The staff are super patient and friendly—they even crouched down to take our order, which was such a thoughtful touch. The only slight downside is that it can get a bit noisy, probably because the place is so popular. Still, we had a great experience overall!
Local cafe in Glen Waverley. everything was good with great coffee. we had the eggs Benedict and the presentation and vibrant colors of the dish obviously reflect the pride this restaurant have for their food. The portion and quality great and reasonably priced.
Had the Chicken Parma, Mocha Jo’s OG Beef Burger, and a Matcha Latte. Everything was alright — nothing blew me away, but it did the job. A nice spot if you’re just after a simple, no-fuss meal.
Epic breakfast!
The beef short rib benedict was amazing and HUGE! I was not expecting a full rib cut, so it was a pleasant surprise. As good as beef gets and slow cooked to perfection, I left only just the bone on the plate and was full the rest of the day. The benedict and beetroot puree were amazing and very complimentary to the rib.
Great tasting coffee and very friendly service too, can't wait to come back!

Fragrant lobster bisque and fresh seafood (Prawns, Mussels, Calamari) presented beautifully in a modern style. The risotto was cooked perfectly and soaked up all the flavours. Loved it and would rate as one of my fave!

12-hour slow-cooked beef ribs falling off the bone with perfectly poached eggs. The meat was so tender and great with the hollandaise poached eggs, potato hash and beetroot puree.
3️⃣ Homemade tiramisu $16
A classic Italian dessert to finish the meal with cream and fresh strawberries.

This was the perfect venue to host my bestie's bridal shower. The staff were super friendly and accommodated all of our requests, including putting on our own music, using our own decor, and personalising our printed menus. The food was great quality and we loved having the option of paying a little extra per guest for unlimited non-alcoholic drinks. They catered for gluten and dairy free dietary requirements. The parking was a bit hectic due to Hawthorn Footy training being on, but that wasn't the venue's fault and they contacted us in advance to let us know the training was on and we'd need extra time for parking. We had a fabulous time. There was no pressure to be out by a specific time. I'd totally recommend for a function!

I order the big breakfast on my recent visit. So highly disappointed.
Food was extremely bland, the bread and tomato were cold, the mushroom was super soggy, the spinach just tasted like straight oil and the hash browns tasted defrosted.
The bacon is just 2 heads of the bacon???? I have never been to a cafe where they are charging $25 for a big breakfast and giving just the head of the bacon. Like do they save the tails of the bacon for another meal?
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the only redeeming quality.

@piatellacafebar is always buzzing at night, but this was our first daytime visit to check out their brunch menu — and we left seriously impressed! 😍
They serve up a delicious mix of Modern Australian with European influences, and it shows.
🐙 The grilled octopus was tender, smoky, and beautifully plated — no rubbery texture here. Just perfectly cooked, full of flavour.
🥙 The Piatella Lamb Souvlaki hit all the right notes: juicy lamb, warm pita, crisp salad, and that creamy garlic dip on the side? Absolute game-changer. 🔥

Piatella has always been my go-to spot for late night desserts. Their freshly made waffles and crepes never disappoint. This time, we tried their dinner menu. They’re currently offering a Monday Steak Night for 28.9, which includes a Porterhouse steak, chips, salad, and a glass of wine.
The pork ribs were a highlight—juicy, tender, and full of flavour. I also spotted some tables with their massive meat and seafood platter, which looked absolutely indulgent.
Piatella in Glen Waverley never disappoints when it comes to desserts. The selection is decently sized! Cakes, crepes, and sweet treats galore. Everything is fresh and indulgent.
The cakes are always fresh and whether you dine in or grab takeaway, the quality is always consistent.
Service is fast and friendly, which makes the experience even better. The coffee isn’t the most memorable in Melbourne, but it’s a solid caffeine fix that does the job.
Overall, a great spot for anyone with a sweet tooth looking to have a decent slice of cake - Piatella is dessert heaven in the heart of Glen Waverley.

Long black was a long black, nothing too special and nothing terrible. Could benefit from some coffee ice rather than regular ice, simply for the $7 price but I digress.
Grilled octopus was $33 and personally, not worth. Still yummy, still worth the try, but likely wouldn’t be a returning pick.
The combination of feta and olives made the salad incredibly salty and unpleasant, even when a bit of everything was eaten at the same time. Ultimately, the salad felt too unbearable-
The toasted bread was good, crunchy and soft at the same time, but it felt less like butter toasted and more so dipped/sprayed in oil and placed onto a pan. The oily residue on the plate didn’t help.
However the ambiance was amazing and I’m half certain everything else ordered by my friends was delicious considering they finished it all.
Would defo come back for breakfast or a different selection of dinner. The desserts looked amazing too. Unfortunately, didn’t get the chance to try.
What a gorgeous, cozy little place hidden away. Walk in and you know you've found something special. The service was amazing. Lovely polite people. Food is just delicious. You could have one of the deserts for a main meal. So yummy. Highly recommend.

Such a lovely cozy cafe! Loved the ambiance and the guy who took our order is a really lovey chap! We went in for coffees and waffle after lunch and after knowing that it was our friend birthday, he decorated the plate and also put a candle for her!

I guess we walked in last minute yet they happily took our last order but only for desserts and that's what we actually went for. Served portions were quite huge which can easily be shared amongst two or three people. We loved the waffle with ice cream and the crepes as well. It was quite lively even for the last hour. The location is a little out of the way for me, however it is always worth the visit ✨️

This cafe is set in a nice and quite neighbourhood area which is relaxing, there's indoor and outdoor seating and a heater for the more chilly weather.
Pets are welcome here as well ☺️, love seeing the pooches around!

We had a great time at Temperance Society. The Seafood Pescatore was the highlight — fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. The Lamb Croquette was beautifully crisp on the outside and tender inside, with bold, comforting flavors.
The Green Punch was a refreshing drink, light and balanced, and the PB Cup made for a rich, satisfying finish — perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth.

@fo0die has dined both as a guest of Temperance Society as well as a paying guest.
The venue has consistently provided good coffee and delicious food every time we (or one of us) has visited. It definitely is one of our favourite spots to organise catch ups with friends given its central location to the group of us.
Mr J typically has a decaf and not many places are able to make it such that it tastes just like a normal coffee but Temperance Society nails it every time.
Food wise, we have enjoyed many dishes off their menu with some of our favourites being the baked eggs, the seafood pescatore, craboulade and for the days you just want variety, bit of this, bit of that (though the croissant isn’t as fluffy as you might expect of a croissant).
The only thing we have noticed is the menu doesn’t change often. The venue may introduce one new dish once in awhile depending on the season.
The venue has seating area out the front of the cafe, some indoor seating and a lovely undercover area at the back with heating which is the area we usually frequent.
One of my most favourite cafes in Melbourne- love the outdoor area with heaters when I have our pooch- she is always made to feel welcome too! The food is outstanding and dare I say it the best presented smashed avocado you’ll see! Great coffee and great vibes 🍃☕️

My personal go-to's are the breaky burger and the smashed avo, both are super satisfying and packed with flavour. It’s got a relaxed vibe, friendly service, and consistently good food. The Hills Pantry is a must-visit!

The yapping dog outside was annoying, but that is an indictment of the owners, not the establishment. The outside area seats about 20 with three heaters. Indoors seats about the same but is too noisy. Staff were attentive. And no Credit Card rip-off fee.
The Hill's Pantry is a true gem in Wheelers Hill. This cute little cafe is located in the local shopping centre and is no doubt one of the drawing points. The coffee is excellent and the menu is simple yet delicious with all the cafe favourites and a great selection of sandwiches/pies/pastries/salads on display (although sometimes variable in what is available). The staff are all very friendly and services is excellent. Keep up the great work!
I got the sausage roll with peach muffin and the sausage was very nice and tasty, pairs well with the lettuce and tomato sauce on the side. The peach muffin was nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Also my coffee was exactly the way I like it nice and frothy. Overall a great experience and will be back soon.
Been here several times for coffee, brunch & lunch. Friendly staffs, the food was very tasty and fresh, coffee was used to be excellent but it has gone downhill since my last couple visits. My last latte was disappointed, it was weak and too much milk. I left them some feedback and hope they will hire a better barista soon.
Enjoyed a very pleasant and relaxed breakfast at The Hills Pantry. The coffee was great and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had the Chilli Scrambled Eggs and the Avocado Fetta Smash with poached egg and bacon. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to go back. Love eating local!

We had a booking (which is essential during busy times). Staff were friendly, and while it gets quite loud, that’s to be expected at a good, bustling cafe.
The acai smoothie bowl was amazing. Fresh fruit, granola, and a generous dollop of peanut butter on top made it a standout. The pesto chilli scramble was also excellent: well-cooked, flavourful, and a solid portion size. Both meals left us full and very happy.
We ordered a long black and an oat cappuccino. Both looked great but were unfortunately quite bitter. Honestly, some of the worst coffees I’ve had in a while.

Popular local cafe with friendly staff and awesome breakkie options, including the first I have seen; light deep fried eggs Benedict on roti, with a side of bacon. Unfortunately I was not able to give all five stars because the chai masala was a little underwhelming; seems the chai had insufficient heat or duration to better infuse the spices, and was a bit over sweetened to our taste. Perhaps an option in the future for sweetness level. IMHO, the lack of any decorations, particularly soft, sound absorbing fixtures, such as wall hung tapestries, would have helped dampened the hard reflected conversational voices by all of us patrons from the concrete tables (good idea) and hard floor. When the cafe was packed, it was very difficult for conversations, which could have easily escalated into shouting conversations, if some of us weren't busy stuffing our mouths with the good food. But would definitely still come back.

Mr Grumpy's Cafe, located near the Spaghetti Junction, is a hidden gem that offers exceptional service and a laid-back atmosphere. The food here always has very generous portions - you definitely won't leave hungry! Would recommend sharing the baguettes in view of this, but everything I've tried has been delicious although a bit heavy.

We had breakfast here this morning, and the food was wonderful. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant has both front outdoor and backyard semi-outdoor seating. Don’t be deceived by its look from the front — the backyard is beautiful, pleasant, and spacious. We had the chili omelet and the big breakfast, and both were delicious, especially the sausages and the chili omelet. Probably the best chili omelet in town!

I ordered the “magic mushroom” which was a variety of oyster mushroom, enoki etc. on toast with a poached egg. It was absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS- so much flavour packed into that dish. Worth every cent and I will be ordering again!!! My friend got the lamb toastie which she reallly enjoyed. All the dishes that came out of that heavenly smelling kitchen looked amazing. Coffee was really nice too! Such an unassuming and humble little cafe tucked away in a row of shops that serves up some insanely delicious food.

Hyde n Seek — because apparently breakfast this good needs to be hidden from the masses. Out in the burbs, they serve a big breakfast so perfect it could be in a food magazine… if the editor wasn’t too busy eating it. The herb tomato is smugly seasoned, the lamb sausage tastes like it knows it’s better than you, mushrooms are drenched in butter like they’ve just quit a diet, scrambled eggs are silky enough to make an omelette jealous, and the bacon… well, let’s just say it’s the kind of crispy that could start a religion. It’s packed for a reason — the service is excellent, and worth braving suburbia’s winding streets just to find it.

This is our local cafe, not our first time visiting them. We like to walk here with our dog and sit at the back, it's a nice vibe, but the food doesn't live up to the expectations.
The lasagne was very mushy, doesn't have a bite to it and the tomato sauce was very weird. The 2 sandwiches we ordered were alright. Leaving 4 stars since it's a local business, I want them to be better :)

We came to Hyde N Seek as a half way point to meet friends! Saw they had 4.5 stars and thought it’s got to be good. Unfortunately it really didn’t hit the mark for us. The service was friendly of course but we were kind of forgotten in the back and had to go and ask to get our orders taken.
We ordered:
🍗 2 x chicken parmas - very thin, too much breading, chips and salad were nice!
🥑 smashed avocado, poached eggs done well but just a small serving in my opinion for the price, lacking a hit of flavour. An actual wedge of lemon would have been nice to put on top instead of a slice for decoration
🥪 schnitzel toastie - nothing amazing
🥞 kids pancakes was probably the highlight even though I didn’t get to try it but was the best presentation and pancakes themselves looked fluffy
☕️ iced chai was really good! I did have to ask if it was powdered or loose, with an extra charge for loose leaf which is fine but worthwhile the staff asking customers which they prefer when it’s being ordered to avoid disappointment.
The back area is lovely, great spot for kids to have some space to move around!
Lovely coffees at Hyde n Seek with very friendly staff service. Lovely to come through nearly every day for a caffeine hit and the odd yummy scone. There's a terrific backyard set up and dogs are welcome. I bring mine and they love it.

Hyde n Seek is a hidden gem. I loved their big breakfast, and that made me even more interested in trying out other stuff. So, we ordered a few other items too. We weren't disappointed at all. Everything is cooked to perfection, and I know because I've been to literally hundreds of cafes. Presentation is great, too.

My wife wanted me to find a place to celebrate our anniversary and I ended up found this place nearby. Well, probably because we’ve been dining at so many cafes, my personal thoughts as for this cafe is that their coffee is ok, food we ordered is good but we are not amazed. Hyde and Seek serves up really good coffee—and don’t get me started on their eggs Benedict with bacon... generous portions and absolutely delicious! The space is beautiful, with a stunning outdoor area out the back that’s perfect for a lazy brunch. The owners are warm, welcoming, and their beaming smiles make the whole dining experience even better. Five stars, easy!

This is my my new favourite breakfast cafe. There aren't too many places that serve brunch around this area so this place is a rare treasure.
The service was fast and friendly; and the coffee came out super quick. The meals were fantastic and cheap, I'm not sure how they make money off this.

"Lovely little hole in the wall" this is a little Clayton Gem.
Firstly, the quality of meal was great(eggs Benedict) great flavours with good use of soy sauce for plate garnish adding some extra tang to the overall meal. Portion size was above average incomparison to most Melbourne cafes. Oh, by the way pricing is not bad at all.
Mmmm, café? Perfecto! This is my only real hindrance, if you can even say that.
I would have liked to have had a glass of cold brew. Though they don't serve it(insert sad face) they have the next best thing "cold drip" now in itself, still very delicious.
Overall atmosphere is awesome, the Twosome Team were very friendly with quick service, however a little more awareness of when to clear dirty plates would polish the team off perfectly.
All said, great experience! Awesome job Twosome crew. Look forward to coming back and seeing a "5"

This McDonalds is by far the worst restaurant ive ever been to, ive order multiple times from here as its our local and each time theres major issues, 3 drinks ordered tonight all three quarters full, asked why? Apparently the ice machine wasnt working but there was ice in them, didnt fill them up still, got home realised no oreo mcflurry was with our order, also opened the triple cheese burger (pictured) the worse excuse for a burger I've ever seen, ordered no pickles no onion and got this monstrosity with 5 pieces of meat and no buns??? order number is FR86 for verification. The place is dirty. The coffee they made is milk like, not really coffee. No one was preparing the coffee order despite 3 customers were awaiting. When complained, the young female manager or team leader is arrogant and ignorant to customers. 25 mins to get my cup of coffee which actually is milk, not coffee.
Went through the drive thru around 9pm the other night, ordering just a simple chocolate pie. Whilst waiting at the window for about 5 minutes, I was watching these 2 crew members (pictured) eating food on the middle of floor, giving us dirty looks etc. a bunch of laziness, finally a worker comes to the window just to be told there is a 6 minutes wait on the pies. Just left, need to train your managers better if they just let crew sit around, chat and eat.
I ordered two spicy chicken patties through the drive-thru but received the regular ones by mistake (I might not have been totally clear when confirming). When I went inside, the staff were super helpful and quick to sort it out. The manager kindly swapped the items without any fuss, and I even got an extra hash brown with the original order, which was a nice surprise. Thanks for the great service!
Honest review. Housekeeping was horrendous not very clean at all, with no one cleaning the table and making it hygienic to eat, this place is on the main road they get busy, and maybe they are understaffed. Bins were overflowing with trash in the main dining area.
Food took a while we waited for at least 10-15 minutes for our meals, and only 1 person working the front line maybe 2 on the drive-thru. Honestly, more staff are needed to maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant and restrooms.
Hi, just wanted to share some feedback.
We were at McDonalds today, and my little brother found a straight hair in his cheeseburger. It definitely didn’t come him as he has curly hair, so it was pretty clear it came from the kitchen.
It was a bit upsetting, especially since we usually enjoy coming here. Maybe consider reinforcing hair covering policies for staff who handle food.
Aside from this, it’s always been a good place with friendly service. We just hope things like this can be avoided in the future.

This has got to be one of the best experiences I have had at McDonalds. We were dining with friends, and one of our kids had accidentally thrown their Happy Meal toy on to the roof😭
He shed a few tears and I felt so bad for him, I went to the counter to ask if they could give us another one.

McDonald’s Burwood offers the usual range of fast-food favourites like burgers, fries, chicken nuggets, wraps, breakfast items, desserts, and beverages. However, the customer service at this location is very poor. The young team often seems distracted and not focused on customers, leading to delays, incorrect orders, and a lack of courtesy. It was a frustrating experience, especially when the place gets busy. While the food is consistent with McDonald's standards, the lack of attention and professionalism from the staff makes the visit far less enjoyable. Needs improvement in staff training and customer care.
Burwood McDonalds has an amazing staff selection. As I went to order my Triple Cheeseburger with a double quarter pounder (hold the pickles!!) and two serves of large fries and a Mcfrappe with extra milk. I was Greeted by a young handsome man named Maks. He was so nice and charming I was about to share my food and give him a McKiss ;). Unfortunantly, when I received my food, Maks wasnt on the menu for me. Im only going back if Maks is there.
At drive through and wasn't served despite being there earlier than the other cars that were served. Claimed to not see my car yet with two drive through lanes it's common sense to check both. She wasn't really apologetic. Surprise, surprise on her phone as well when I left. Horrible service.

Ordered through DoorDash for two days in a row because I really wanted a frappe. Both times, it wasn’t made. Yesterday I thought maybe they ran out of ingredients, but today it still wasn’t available—and instead I just got a $5 voucher.
No message about replacing the drink, and the frappe is still on the menu. If it’s not available, please remove it. This feels like staff are just rushing orders during busy times without caring about quality. Really disappointing experience.

Thiss restaurant treats prepares their food just like chucking food in bins. No management - as they prioritize customers with smaller orders. No service - delivery girl had no smile But impatient face. No quality - as seen in pics - i prepare food for my dog better than this. Complained thru the app and replied by one of their managers (not even store manager) and get responses like he copied and pasted from template. These people are just hopeless.
It was super busy and extremely crowded when I was there late Friday night with the descent of an after event with university students. The staff coped very well. Kudos to them especially given that there were so many individual small items being ordered.

I ordered a happy meal and a quarter pounder. It does not take 30 minutes to make these items. Plus there were hardly any people, and when I asked if my order was done, the cashier just side eyes me and said no. You can’t blame her for saying no because my order wasn’t even processed into the system even though I had already paid. To make things worse, they didn’t give me the sauce and they also only gave me half of a drink that wasn’t even a drink, it was basically just ice.

I was very impressed by the fact that you are doing your job with a small number of staff.
The food was a disappointment. Almost all the dishes are too heavy. I got their popular Prawn Chorizo Chilli Scrambled Egg, Big Brekkie, and Indomie Fried Chicken Noodle. The scrambled egg dish had nothing to "cut" it with, so I was left feeling really overwhelmed, sickened, and heavy. The Indomie was nothing to call home about. Literally, I could make it at home. Also, their take on the big breakfast was mediocre... all the components were simply ok. Additionally, the environment was chaotic, with crying children and people crowding around without direction of where to sit. We were also not acknowledged until about 3 minutes after we entered. They're understaffed and could use one more person for a weekend shift. They were friendly but I just feel like this place was unfairly rated so high on google, as my experience didn't match up to 4.7 stars.
I love the vibe of this cafe, my fave order is Prawn Chorizo and their matcha latte 💕 it’s warm and milky, you can request the barista to create different foam designs on it for aesthetic!
Two years ago, here was an impressive place, just visit again today, I would say quality of service is need some attention for improvement. Most of waitresses and waiter seems new? They seems like no ideas what they were doing, not even serving us water, waiting for her to bring us menu, she look like sleep walking around. Getting frustrated, I went to the counter to grab the menu and later order myself in the counter.
Never needs to do this before, I would say last year. It was full today but I can’t say it is busy. I have to say the floor staffs are so inexperience. I would say, if one experience floor staffs will able to well. Please be more switch on.

Visited on 14/08 in the morning and was greeted by an incredibly kind and friendly staff member. The lady serving was fast, attentive, and made the experience feel welcoming from the start. The café has a warm and comfortable atmosphere, perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. Prices are fair, and the service is excellent. The coffee and food were fresh and well presented. Highly recommend for both the great service and the inviting environment.

The friendly team goes above and beyond, whether you're ordering a birthday cake or simply grabbing a quick snack. Their cakes are consistently scrumptious, maintaining high standards even during busy times.
We came super early looking for coffee as everything else in the shopping centre was closed. Despite not being quite open the girl at the counter took our order and told us she would make our coffee as soon as she finished setting up. The coffee was perfect I was a coffee roaster and love my coffee and this was one of the best I’ve had in Melbourne. Not sure why everyone here is bagging their service for us it was great

I go to chaddy Fergusons most days I am in the office. The service has always been amazing with great team and smiles all around. Massive call out to gray and Vicky who always greet me at 630am with a smile.
Sorry to say this but I had such a bad experience with them in chadstone. They told me about a promotional box which you can compose as you prefer and so I did. They gave me completely different flavours (I asked for chocolate almond croissants and received the plains). It’s not the end of the world but it was for kids who were disappointed. I texted them on instagram (they told me to sent an email) I emailed them and never received a response (7 days ago). I explained the situation also on instagram but again no response. I don’t recommend this service at all.
Always friendly staff and accommodating even if super early or last one - they will happily take a quick order. Cakes are universally yummy and always with the same standards. They do very well even on days when the line is very long.
I went seeking a 21st bday cake two weeks ago. I was lucky enough to be assisted by Vicky, knowledgeable, friendly & made really appropriate suggestions to find the best option for my request. I ordered the cake & when collecting again had a great experience & all was ready on time. I'll be back.

Been wanting to come here and we were very pleased and satisfied with our meals. The chili scrambled egg was full of flavor and cooked very well, chili was very hot and a little bit too much but overall the dish was good. The bacon benny was cooked very well too, the poached eggs were runny, bacon and rosti and hollandaise sauce went well together. The chicken tenders in the kids meal were very delicious and juicy. The staff were very friendly but place could be cleaner. Coffee was well brewed and smooth. Overall good value and delicious. Would definitely come back if we were in the are.

I had an absolutely horrible experience at this cafe. The service was not even up to standard. When our table of food was served, it was served one at a time - this was not the problem, the problem was that we were not served cutlery at all. We had to stand up and walk into the cafe three times to ask for cutlery for each dish. We had ordered x1 hot cakes dish and x2 bacon and eggs Benedict dish. One eggs benny came out good, but the second one was very dry - there was basically almost no Hollandaise sauce on it compared to our first. When we brought this to the staff, they insisted they had to charge us for more sauce. I will never be returning back to this cafe. I am absolutely appalled by their horrible service and food. Dry food for reference. The place would do for a good clean as well. Very disappointed with this place.
We had a fantastic Sunday brunch at Code 5 today. The place was buzzing with locals (a great sign), and I highly recommend making a reservation to avoid any disappointment. We didn’t, but luckily we managed to snag the last two barstools by the window, while others had to either opt for takeaway or wait for a table to free up.
The staff were welcoming, the Inglewood Coffee Roasters coffee was excellent, and the menu offered a great mix of all-day breakfast and lunch options, with a few Asian-inspired contemporary dishes.
Despite how busy it was, the service was quick and efficient. Our meals were delicious and offered great value for money.
If you're looking for a quieter spot, I’d suggest sitting at one of the outdoor tables, as it can get a bit noisy inside when it's this busy.
The basil pesto chicken baguette was very nice. Pesto was herby and complimented the chicken. The matcha latte was extremely weak which made it disappointing as the waitress had confirmed it was strong before I ordered. Otherwise I would have grabbed a coffee.

Delicious food and great coffee! 😋 The outdoor seating area is absolute heaven on sunny winter days, the perfect spot to soak up some sun. It’s a bit windy these days, but honestly, who cares when the vibes are this good ? 😌❤️
The Korean chicken burger was yum. Perfect amount of chilli and the chicken was very tender. Outside area wasn’t cold even on a Winter day thanks to the heating system.

Tables are too close to each other - coz maybe it’s a very small cafe. You could hear the next table’s conversation. Tables are also set up outside the cafe which look good during summer. A Good Friday indeed- I Had an amazing breakfast/ brunch experience at Mackie in Mulgrave today!
Any place that does all day breakfasts is already a favourite.
The outdoor garden ambience was serene and peaceful - a perfect spot to start the day.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Shout out to the cute chirpy girl who asked me what my weekend plan was :)
But the real star was the food - particularly the Mexican Bowl, which was absolutely delicious! If you're a fan of bold flavors and wholesome meals, this dish is a MUST-TRY. Can't wait to come back and explore more of their menu.
Second time here and still a great place to be. The pork benedict is quite good, generous with the eggs and bread as it should be. 2 pieces of bread, 2 eggs, a lot of places miss this and leaves you wanting more, I recommend this dish. Onion rings were decent as well, really crunchy but a little too salty for my liking. Friendly staff.

Our entire experience was soured by the price difference between their in store online ordering menu and physical menu. We were not informed about this at all and we’re not given any physical menu initially!!!
Blueberry hotcakes is 22.50 dollars in the physical menu vs 25.87 dollars in the online menu. This is downright ridiculous as it’s a 15% price increase on a Monday (Not a Public Holiday) and we feel completely scammed. Not going to be visiting this place again and you lost multiple customers from the local community!
We talked to the staff onsite and they said the online HungryHungry platform menu is set up that way to charge extra and they couldn’t do anything or refund the price discrepancy. This is the first time we heard of an online dining-in ordering menu charging more than the physical menu in Australia!
After visiting this cafe for the first time - fell in love with it! Staff are great, food is INCREDIBLE and the overall atmosphere is a vibe. We ordered - the chilli eggs, roast veg Turkish roll with grilled chicken and almond cappuccinos. Can't wait to come back and try more of their menu - it all looks delicious!!!

It was a new cafe day today. Somewhere close to home. Mackie Rd was on the way home so it was easy decision. I ordered the pork Benedict which was really nice. My friend ordered the Mack salad which he enjoyed. A great find and great service.
Stopped by this fantastic cafe yesterday with my family from out of the area. The staff were quick to accomodate us and took our order promptly. Hats off to this venue being cosy, but accomodating to kids/pram with a ramp entry and toilet with baby change table. My only complaint is that sitting inside, the volume of the music was so loud it was hard to carry a conversation most of the time. The coffees were great and the food was fantastic! Great portions, fresh and they made it a priority to make sure our little ones had their food on the table fast. Parking is available on street and timed. Can’t recommend this place enough if you are looking for a cosy cafe to stop by with your family.

I love this cafe! Good quality tasty asian and pasta dishes. Sandwiches are always fresh. They do a fantastic ham & cheese croissant which is a bit addictive. Coffee is great tasting too. And to top it off Ran & Kat are so friendly, always a smile and a chat when I come in to order.

I was served by Austin, and the cookies were really good, friendly staff and beautiful food.
I had salad for $ 12.90 and received approximate food worth $ 4.00 including big chunks of raw mushrooms! I dont mind paying $ 20 for good salad but this cafe takes advantage of customers as there is no other competition in area of 300 offices! The next door restaurant needs to open soon...
Ordered a plain salad roll. It was very small roll, was charged $8.50. I think these people need to come down to earth with their pricing. (Lettuces, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, salt and pepper). Also looking around they had tabouli made with cucumber. If you are not familiar with the origin of the food and the way to make, don't attempt it.

On one occasion I purchased a simple Egg & bacon roll.....the bacon was cremated, second occasion purchased a Simple salad sandwich figured that couldn’t mess that up...well I may as well have ordered a bread roll they barely put anything in it. Won’t be going back!

Sergy Boy is a cafe that has gained popularity since its opening. The coffee served here is excellent, and they offer options like milk lab milk and coconut milk. Their lunch menu includes a variety of quick grab items as well as freshly made, home cooked meals. Despite being busy, the staff efficiently serves the coffees without any issues and customers often return for seconds and sweet treats.
Get a coffee made by Amanda. The best I've experienced in the highly competitive Melbourne Market or anywhere for that matter. When you ask for a coffee the way you want it, Amanda makes it that way. Great place to come to 1st thing before I start work. Helps set my day up.

Really friendly staff and a nice atmosphere BUT i ordered a chicken schnitzel roll and it appeared to be raw in the middle! I thought that it didn’t taste quite right and was pretty cold… Staff were very apologetic, and quick to try to rectify this with replacement of food, but I was already put off so a refund was good. Went to Sergy Boy for an early breakfast. Was seated at a table but waited so long for someone to come take our order that we ended up ordering at the bar. They were busy with the rush of morning coffee orders.
The food took a long time to come out, we had long finished our coffees.
The wait staff didn’t seem to know what they were bringing out, they asked who had the ‘muesli’ when handing out the porridge. One lot of eggs was supposed to be well done but they weren’t sure which one it was.
The smoothie bowl was literally a smoothie in a bowl with a couple of bits of fruit thrown it, definitely a let down.
The other meals were nice, the French toast was delicious. The decor was nice, it’s all very modern looking.
The wait staff were not very friendly, with one pulling away a plate before my friend had even finished eating.
Whenever I walk past Sergy Boy, it's packed; so today I decided to go in. It's a big, open place, and although it's usually busy they whiz through the orders. Coffee sizes are small, large and jumbo - which I find annoying. The coffee is OK, but kind of strong and watery at the same time. Quite a lot of good treats. For those who remember, it's a bit like De Mad Hatter (further down Collins St) used to be.
