Laneway is a rustic-chic cafe located in the heart of Devonport, offering a relaxed and warm vibe for breakfast and lunch. The menu features hearty mains, single-origin coffee, and healthy power breakfast options like coconut chia pudding with activated almonds and super smoothies. Situated in Rooke Lane, the cafe opens at 6:30 am daily and provides parking next door in the Payne Avenue Car Park.
We had lunch here. Teriyaki Beef Salad, Southern Fried Chicken, Cheese & Bacon Burger, and Steak n Eggs. The food looks great, tastes even better. The staff are friendly and helpful. Very warm atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Easily one of the best spots in town. The steak sandwich was extremely good. The vibe was amazing, the staff were super friendly. Will happily go back. One criticism is I ordered a croissant and they cut it open and toasted it in some weird way which kinda made it a bit stale and greasy tasting - the joy of a croissant is that that inside stays very fluffy and soft and steamy when it’s hot and you open it. Also better cold and fluffy but definitely never cut open. Also salted butter would be more tasty with it.
Jane C — Google review
Amazing cafe which is close to the port. As the first feed after landing Tasmania, I was pretty satisfied. I ordered iced long black and steak n eggs. I would say the steak just normal level but the side foods were great. Nice staffs and good vibe here. BTW, one of the staff was having fried rice which looked so yum! 😆

Delicious place for breakfast and coffee. Really love the feel and the food. Ate here each morning on an outreach trip for work. Can’t fault it and will certainly be back on my next trip to Devonport.
Mel — Google review
The perfect cafe to drop into after disembarking from the Spirit of Tasmania early in the morning. The staff are warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxed. It’s accessible, kid friendly and pet friendly!

Why this place is only rated 4.6 will forever be one of life’s greatest mysteries. Calling all glutards: do not bother going anywhere else, do not pass Go, do not collect $200. These guys have you covered. I’m up from Hobart for work and already contemplating how I can convince my husband that we need to drive three hours every Saturday just for brunch. The chicken waffles? Say no more. Hands down the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time—and I eat out a lot. GLUTEN FREE. I’ll be back, and I’ll be shouting this place’s name from the rooftops. Do yourself a favour: just get here now.
Emma D — Google review
Laneway has a very relaxing yet cool vibed atmosphere. The staff are pleasant to deal with and quick to attend to you. The meals were served in a timely manner and presented beautifully on the plate. (I usually take photos - will update eith pictures when I go back again) I tried the Eggs Benefict, Steak Sandwich and the Southern Fried Chicken & Bacon Burger served with chips, aioli sauce and a Go Go Mango smoothie. All meals were delicious, the flavours went together perfectly. Nothing was off balance! The beverage was served in a perfect sized glass, it was just enough to quench your thirst without leaving you with a feeling of wanting more. Pricing is suitable for serving you're given and the quality of the food. For example: todays meal (26/10/25) we ordered - 2 meals, 2 coffees and a Go Go Mango smoothie cost around $89.00. The owners: Amber and her husband are also very approachable and hold great conversations. Highly recommend Laneway!
Talia T — Google review
We first discovered Laneway a few years ago and have made it our regular breakfast spot when we come in on the Spirit. Disappointed to find this time that they no longer have a separate vegan menu - while many of the same dishes are still available on the main menu, they are now "vegan options" which means paying full price for a meal with ingredients removed (plus a 10% weekend surcharge). What we ordered was still tasty and well prepared, but the value for money and overall experience were less than what we had come to expect.

Playfish is a charming café located on the outskirts of the CBD in Devonport. The owner, Dean Bramich, has curated a menu that fuses Asian, Italian, and Australian flavors. The café offers exceptional service and serves up delectable coffee, cooked breakfasts, and an array of delightful treats. With free on-street parking available right outside the café, it's convenient for visitors.
What an amazing place this is!! Words can't describe the explosion of flavours from each bite of both the sandwiches we had! This place is hands down by far the best cafe I've been at in northern Tassie. I'd definitely list this as a must visit!! The chef owner clearly takes pride in his food, and actively seeks feedback on each dish. It certainly shows in the love you feel has gone into every dish! I'll be back to try their vege eggs dish and smashed avo that other reviews have highly recommended previously
Cashew S — Google review
Curious name. But good sandwiches, oops Toasties. This was recommended to us by the hosts of our holiday home. And it's really super near so we might as well. On a chilly morning the crew were friendly and the Toasties were good and quite substantial. A few of us couldn't finish and had to bag it for takeaway. If you're in the area, I'd recommend this too.
Jpm — Google review
We had an absolute treat! The food was incredible, and the coffee was amazing! But what really made our experience stand out was the super friendly staff - they made us feel right at home. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Tasmania. Highly recommend! 🤌🏻🤠😎🖤💥

Kid friendly and exceptional service! Food was well above average. Friendly staff that had smiling faces and great with little kids. They had a high chair and an area out the back where baby could stomp around while waiting for the food. Many vegetarian options. Very fair pricing. I don't normally leave reviews, but I thought this place definitely deserves a shoutout as being a cut above many cafes in this country that disappoint too often. No blasting music. Good vibe.

Playfish Cafe in Devonport offers delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. The menu features a variety of dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. The staff, including the fantastic and helpful owner, is attentive and welcoming, making every visit a pleasure. Whether you're grabbing a coffee or enjoying a meal with friends, Playfish Cafe is a great choice for a memorable dining experience in Devonport. Plus, if you're off the Spirit of Tasmania, it's the only place available with yummy and unforgettable food and coffee. Thank you 😊

Within 30 minutes of arriving in Tassie on the ferry, we came across Playfish for breakfast. Google reviews lead us here and we were not disappointed! Hubby and I ordered an eggs Benedict which came with a generous portion of bacon. Super soft fresh bread and perfection sauce. Thank you chef 🙏 This lovely cafe has a retro feel with the old Formica tables and colourful chairs. Coffee was great, so much so we took another one for the road. The owner Dean was a delight and clearly knows what he is doing in a kitchen! If you have the opportunity we highly recommend you check it out
Jodi A — Google review
We loved the food, the service and the retro decor. A lot of thought has clearly been put into all of it by Dean, the owner … Open early, so a great place to head for brekkie after getting off the Spirit of Tasmania ferry from the mainland!

Straight off the boat and could not receive any better welcome to Tasmania 🙏 Best eggs Benedict with delicious 😋 bacon. It's pitch black and pouring rain outside and thankfully I googled the most convenient carpark options for towing a caravan. We didn't want to eat breakfast on the boat but wanted a decent hot serving and decent coffee. Ticked every box and customer service outstanding 👌

Fundamental Espresso in Devonport is a top-rated coffee spot, known for its exceptional brews and friendly service. While the seating may be limited, the welcoming atmosphere and prompt turnover make it a popular choice for locals grabbing their morning pick-me-up. Visitors praise the high-quality coffee that rivals Melbourne standards and recommend trying the truffles mushie sandwich. The owners, Tom and Em, have created a fantastic shop with delicious in-house breakfast bagels.
Great service, staff greeted us immediately when we walked in. As a serious bagel consumer, I can say this was one of the best bagels I have had!! Vegan options too. Great iced latte.
M — Google review
Absolutely loved our visit to Fundamental Espresso! I ordered a double shot oat latte and my partner had the long black with a double shot—both were spot on. The texture was perfect, super smooth, not the slightest bit bitter, and you can tell they use quality beans! 🙌🏾😍 We also grabbed a couple of bagels—halloumi for me and a BLT for my partner. Fresh, tasty, and really satisfying🙏🏽 The café has a welcoming, spacious vibe with music that's not too loud—just the right volume to enjoy some old school bangers in the background, which really added to the relaxed and fun atmosphere. It's a great spot to sit in and relax or grab something on the go. Plus, there are some great views just around the corner. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Devonport!🫶🏽

Google Maps lost my review from Sept 2023 along with the actual listing of this great little local gem. (I must say, Google Maps hasn't fixed this despite me bringing it to their attention Jan 2024 🙄) I was introduced to this place by a local friend. Their coffees are second to none, and have actually improved compared to my first time here. Quality is well above the Tassie average, and comparable to Melbourne standards. AND their truffles mushie sandwich is to die for. Even better after a good workout session!! And I must give a shout out to the team as well, who are always warmly welcoming to every single customer. You can see this from the high level of customer throughput here! Keep up the great work team!! 👍 💪☺️
Cashew S — Google review
Where to start. You drive off the boat and barely know what day it is. Coffee. They absolutely nail the long black, despite not using anything special in terms of beans. Please fix that, as Tassie have some awesome roasters. Then you get the music. Last trip I heard Neal Francis playing. Shazam helped and haven’t stopped listening to him since. But here is the kicker. The bagels. A little pricey, yes, but they could be the best I’ve ever had. That’s including Melbourne and New York. Everything about this salmon bagel is perfect. The dill and capers through the cream cheese, the Tassie smoked salmon, the slice of cucumber for freshness and crunch. And the bagel, nice and doughy, but not chewy. God damn. What a bagel.
Andrew M — Google review
the most Elite coffee! the absolute BEST you will find on the NW (and truthfully anywhere else you’ll go in Tassie). The service is amazing & the staff are truly so welcoming & friendly! the owners, Tom and Em are wonderful & have created such a fantastic shop, the atmosphere and vibe in the store is fantastic! Definitely make this your port of call off the Spirit - make sure you get a breakfast bagel, they are made in house and a 10/10.
Natalie G — Google review
Magnificent bagels and coffee. ☕️ Delicious coffee beans and perfect temperature. True aficionados in this space. Years of experience here but Google lost their original profile. Chairs and breakfast bar on side wall but not for those wanting a chair and table setting.
Bryce M — Google review
Great salmon bagel. Coffee is ok. Atmosphere is very good, white coated benchtops from birch plywood, greetings the first second you enter and quick service from The staff. Guys are missing on TripAdvisor, worth adding the place there! For outstanding service please serve a glass of sparkling water with short black
Artem M — Google review
I got a magic and a flat white. The service was great and the cafe was clean. However, the coffee didn't taste great. The magic was strangely sweet. The flat white did not have a coffee taste. If you ever visit singapore, do give the magic from Tiong Hoe's original store a try. It tastes a lot better than the one from this shop.

The menu features a mix of Western and Afghan breakfast options, along with Indian, Korean, and Australian dishes. The cafe is known for its delicious coffee and house-made treats like baklava and chai. Visitors can also enjoy the light, flaky roti wraps and flavorful Afghan curries.

Super friendly staff, fantastic food. The best hot chocolate I had so far in Tassie. The roti is so crispy. Highly recommended!

I recently visited the Afghan café XOXO and was pleasantly surprised. The cozy atmosphere and warm hospitality make it a truly special place. Their matcha was absolutely delightful – perfectly balanced in flavor and beautifully presented. The highlight, however, was their traditional Afghan dishes. The rich aromas of spices, fresh ingredients, and masterful preparation created an unforgettable dining experience.

Delicious halal food with plenty of variety! The space is beautifully designed, showcasing the rich Pakistani and Afghani culture. A perfect spot for great food and a warm, aesthetic atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Been coming for years now. The food and coffee are sensational; so good infact that sometimes I just drive 2.5 hours to get there for my ‘fix’!! The food is fresh and delectable and made to order. Excellent value for money considering the quality ingredients. Every dish is made with love; you can just taste it! If you don’t go you’ll miss out for the rest of your life!

I tried the falafel with green chili and it was absolutely delicious… such a lovely taste! The reception was handled by a girl from Punjab, India, who was very lovely and had a great style of hospitality
Hussein B — Google review
This is lovely cafe that doesn’t just sell awesome coffee. The house made turmeric chai latte is also a must try as it is creamy and full of flavour. The food is of exceptional quality, especially the Afghan curries and pratha. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend trying is the Korean cuisine on the menu as it is over priced, with not the best authentic flavour. My humble suggestion is the café should focus on what it does the best: coffees and Afghan cuisine.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The menu said to ask about the specials, so I did, but the staff just told me to check the board outside and mentioned there were only a few left without any further explanation. There were no timings listed on the menu, but I was told that lunch is only available from 10:30 am. When I asked about a dish I had seen earlier, they bluntly replied, “If it’s not on the menu, then it’s not available.” After waiting 30 minutes to order, I asked to add eggs, but the said eggs were only available until 10:30 am and couldn’t be added to the lunch menu. The service was unfriendly and unhelpful, making it a very disappointing visit.

Beautiful flavours in the avocado and feta brekky, beetroot sauce was awesome, good amount of avo and feta, nice and quiet atmosphere to relax in and super friendly staff.

Good coffee. Average customer service. Decided to pivot today and order a juice (the gut healing combo) and when i received my order it tasted horrible - like watery celery with nothing else - I asked about having some more fruit added and was shocked to see the pineapple was going to come from a can! I have never in my life seen a cafe use canned pineapple in a FRESH juice. What in the world. I could have purchased a much nicer quality juice from the fridge if I wanted processed pineapple juice. Totally threw me. I'll just stick to a takeaway coffee going forward and go else where for FRESH juice. **I understand that fresh fruit is not always readily available all year round - so maybe change your menu to reflect the season? And most importantly BE TRANSPARENT and let your customers know!

The Harbourmaster Cafe has quickly established itself as a beloved destination for both food enthusiasts and coffee lovers alike. Recently, the cafe revamped its menu to showcase some of the finest cuisine in Devonport. During a delightful weekend visit, I found myself returning multiple times—each occasion revealing more delicious offerings from their new selection. Housed in the charming original harbour master building, this airy eatery is bathed in natural light and offers stunning views of the river and passing boats.
Enjoyed a late breakfast here after arriving on the Spirit of Tasmania that morning. They were very busy and despite the fact we hadn't got a booking the waitress said she'd have a table available for us if we were prepared to wait a short while. The eggs Benedict were absolutely delicious and really filling and it had a nice relaxed feel to the place.

An unexpected delight - we stumbled across this cafe on a walk and absolutely loved it. Great views, good service and most of all an unexpected menu with your classics as well as more creative options. We‘ll be back 😍

Wow. The consistency of this cafe is unreal. Have been here multiple times over the past few years, but moved to Adelaide and haven’t been for a while. We came back for their Father’s Day bookings this year; had their beef brisket eggs, and it was one of the best breakfast I’ve ever had. The rest our table also thoroughly enjoyed the food, including the chilli eggs. They always have great service, quick with their food and drinks, and a great selection that caters to all dietary requirements. The view is beautiful to top it all off. Highly highly recommend. Best cafe on the north west coast by far !

The Harbourmaster Café is an absolute treasure by the water. The chilli scrambled eggs were possibly the best I’ve ever had; fluffy, full of flavour, and with just the right amount of heat. The coffee was top-notch and paired perfectly with the relaxed waterfront scenery. Service was spot on, and the whole place has a welcoming, easy vibe. Hard to beat for breakfast in Devonport.

McDonald's is a renowned fast-food chain with a rich history, famous for its delectable burgers and crispy fries. This classic establishment has captured the hearts of countless customers over the years. Despite belonging to a large restaurant network, it is worth noting that this particular McDonald's branch left a lasting positive impression on many. Located conveniently by the riverbank opposite Spirit Tasmania Devonport, diners can relish their meals while admiring scenic views.
What a toilet!!! This restaurant is disgusting. Uncleaned tables and food on the floor everywhere. This place wins the country's worst McDonalds restaurant. Staff on attendance standing at the counter laughing together when clearly they should be cleaning. This will be the last time we will enter this establishment. I'm appalled. Food COLD went to speak with the manager on duty (Gemma), who sent Molly a lovely girl from the back of the house, and the meal was replaced. Gemma came to table 5 minutes later and blamed owner and lack of staff when clearly there were two girls at the counter with enough time on there hands to laugh and giggle with others but too understaffed to clean. God forbid if the manager came into the floor. The manager returned to the office, and nothing changed. Tables dirty on arrival were still dirty and 30 minutes later.... and this is what Devonport has to offer when our visitors get of the Spirit of Tasmania. Devonport McDonald's, you should be ashamed.

I had a terrible experience here. I waited for over two hours and never received my food. When I asked about it, a staff member shouted at me to leave. Absolutely unacceptable service. I paid and got nothing but disrespect. Very disappointing.
: D — Google review
While our food was very tasty, it took 30 minutes just to get our order, which was wrong. I had to ask three times for missing items before I finally received my entire order. The drinks tasted flat. like the co2 needed to be changed. And the team members seemed to distracted taking pictures of eachother which is probably why my order took so long, and was wrong. I definitely suggest to others to try the other McDonald’s or maybe a hungry jacks before coming to this one.
W A — Google review
Absolutely appalling experience at this restaurant, I don’t believe there has been a time where I haven’t had to either give them back my order cause they have given me the wrong things, or times I haven’t double checked the meal in a drive-through and have had to suffer the consequences of throwing out what I have paid for, as it was the wrong. Service always takes at least 10 minutes (without others ordering or in the drive-through) which is certainly not “fast food” in my opinion.
Skali M — Google review
Just pulled into the drive through before boarding the Spirit and was told they all on break and will be back in 30min. Lights were all on, no staff and no service. Pretty average for 24h service

What has happened Banjo's???? This is my ham and pineapple pizza order. They were fresh ones which horrified me. The cheese were a sour, curdled, oily mess. The were simply as I purchased them and intended to eat immediately. I couldn't possibly eat them though. I'm wondering if it is a one off or the future Banjo's pizzas....

I ordered a salad sandwich, drove 5 minutes back to work, took the sandwich out of the back and cringed with the instant moistness I felt with my fingers. The top layer of bread (pressing against the tomato) was not just moist, but full on wet. It made a squish noise when I poked it. I tried to lift up the paper to move the sandwich and the moisture had soaked through so the paper fell apart and salad went everywhere. I tried to eat around the soggy bread but the tomato was so old and had soaked onto everything that it was completely inedible. Hopefully my chickens will eat it.

Comfy Cafe for having breakfast, brunch and lunch. Some pies and pastries such as bread always freshly baked, and coffee and chai are just perfect to serve, the staff are friendly. Recommended

Lovely potato pie, but do have a spoon and plate on hand. As it's filled to the brim of yummy mince and spills out after first two bites.

Pigeons should not be in the store. Maybe if you cleaned the tables and swept the floor they wouldn't need to come inside. It was not like they were flat out either. 7 customers plus staff.

Just another Banjo Bakery Cafe! Peaceful and clean, popular but never over crowded. Friendly staff, nice indoor and outdoor seating. No complaints.

Ordered an egg and bacon pie. The pie was dripping with oil and grease, the bacon was in a big lump at the bottom of the pie and looked like fake processed meat, not bacon.

Known for its generous breakfast offerings, including delightful eggs benedict, fluffy pancakes, and hearty breakfast burgers, this eatery serves up comfort food with a side of warmth. The inviting atmosphere is complemented by friendly service from the owner himself, making every visit feel special.
This cafe is located near my childhood home. The businesses in this location would often come and go throughout my childhood however this one has remained for the past nine years. I took the time to visit and can understand why. We were served by the owner and his hospitality and servant nature were very clear. We understand that this cafe is more than just good food and good Coffee. It’s also good people. I would definitely recommend coming and visiting and you won’t be disappointed.

The zucchini fritters were unique & amazing, loved the eggs Benedict cuz they used blue cheese, burger was good too according to my son. Their hot chocolate & coffee were gorgeous as well, even for me who’s really picky with my hot beverages. Loved their food, loved their vibes!!!

Came here for brunch with my partner. The staff was very lovely, all full of smiles. The prices were reasonable. And the food was amazing. We both had the pancakes and neither of us could finish it because of how amazing the serving size was. Can’t wait to come back soon.

Incredibly fast and friendly service given it was deservedly busy. Loved my burger and coffee. Chips were also outstanding. Big portions.

The food was excellent, the service was great and the drinks and meals arrived in record time. I noticed all of the team worked well together and I assume it was the owner was also very attentive to customers needs. Moving people to different tables away from the door and asking if they wanted the heating on. I would highly recommend and will be definitely going again. It’s the little details that makes a difference. Upon paying I was asked how everything was and I was acknowledged when waiting to pay by one of the team who was taking a menu to another table. My boys had little lunch platters and they were generous with a great little assortment of kiddie friendly items. I love eggs Benny and hollandaise and I always order extra hollandaise. I didn’t really need the extra as the portions of everything were perfect. Great quality meals and beautiful attention to detail.

All Things Nice Bakery and Cafe is a popular spot in East Devonport, known for its early opening hours and delicious breakfast options. The bakery offers a variety of pastries, breads, and breakfast items including pancakes, toast, focaccias, and filled croissants at reasonable prices. Visitors rave about the award-winning pies such as the scallop pie which is described as the best ever had with visible and tasty scallops inside.
Came here after reading good reviews And order the scallop pie. It's better than Ross bakery in TAS that I had otw from Hobart to Launceston last week. In fact, best scallop pie I ever had! One bite, and I can see a scallop popping out! And fee more scallops inside🤤 they are soft and juicy too!!! The curry taste is pretty strong , just the way i like it! and spiciness is perfect for me. The lady was kind to heat up the scallop pie for me (10 minutes and it's perfectly hot and crips!) She is much more helpful than the other younger lady on the counter the other day I visited. There's a couple of parking on side street or some parking opposite street at foodwork😝

I took my children in to this amazing bakery yesterday as a home school excursion. The staff were super friendly, kind and helpful. All of my children said that everything they had tasted so yummy ! The only thing they had bad to say was that the Jelly was a bit bland, but other than that it was all so yummy 😊 I 100% recommend All Things Nice Bakery and Cafe !! Thank you lovely ladies for such a great experience !!! ☺️

Our first time here! Regular salad tasted amazing! Worth the amount, plenty of options & pretty filling. Wife chose a Sunrise smoothie( 🍊 juice squeezed fresh 😋) tasted good too. The gentleman who served us was patient enough to give us time to choose. Will be back again.

Got an acai bowl from here - was so runny like soup. Had half a banana and about a tablespoon of Granola. Not sure if this is the usual for this store but other acai bowls I've bought have had lots of fresh fruit etc. Also the menu said it was $11 but I got charged $12.. was it because I paid by card? There was no advertisement that I'd get a $1 surcharge.

Great value fresh juices - really tasty and vibrant. Also grabbed a 'ready to go' salad roll from the cabinet and it was so delicious! Its too cold in there though - I couldn't sit because there was a draft and in general its not the sort of place I would stop by as its a bit empty/hollow. Nice staff and fast service.

Pretty big disgrace really the cups that hold the sugar are disgusting and sticky as was the table. My toasted sandwich had all the ends of the tomato in it. When I brought this up, the server kept repeating how much I had to pay her and refused to fix the situation told me it was wrong my sandwich was like that now $10.50 10.50 I replied can you tell me how often these sugar cups get cleaned and she just kept repeating 10.50 10.50 disgusting behaviour and service. As I work in the industry myself it's quite poor to see how badly things have gotten.

Closing at 5pm, not a problem we'll have a coffee and hot chocolate please. 4pm we Sat over the back for a bit of peace so we could chat. They asked us to move to the front so they could wash the floors. So let's vacuum and wash the floors with bleach around our customers while they try and enjoy the aroma of strong bleach instead of their drinks. The one star is only so I could leave you an honest review.

Not typically one to complain but the service I received today was ridiculous at lunch time - not busy at all for takeaway, simply wanted a few items from the hot box - staff member was extremely rude and had no interest in being there quite frank from the public eye. Not to mention, working with food, hair was out? won’t be returning.

Larder Cafe is a bustling lunch spot with friendly staff who are always up for a chat. The homemade cooking, especially the various soups and pasties, comes highly recommended. The freshly baked sausage rolls are also a popular choice. This cafe offers interesting meal options not typically found elsewhere, such as the vegetarian pattie served with a selection of delicious salads. While the coffee is decent, there is an abundance of sweet treats to choose from.
Friendly staff always pleasant and up for a chat between serving customers. A busy little lunch spot. I can recommend the homemade cooking. My personal favorites are all the varieties of soup and the pasties. I did try some sausage rolls as I was there as they just came out of the oven. Really good choice. Will make my favourite list but would like a few more just to confirm their status as a favorite. 😉

Very disappointing- the lady serving us was so busy talking to friends that we had eaten our morning tea before we got coffee and my husband had drunk his coffee before I received my smoothie. Then we bought two really nice sized scallop pies to take home. It was all sauce I was lucky to find 3 very small scollops in it. Was here two nights in a row and shocked that this bistro did not show up when Googled Devonport food. Hidden gem as the service was prompt and food was delish First visit we ordered beef cheek, ribs and calamari salad. Never have we tasted such an amazing salad - we did ask for fetta and dressing on the side. Prices are reasonable and we were full & happy 😋 So... We came back for the eye fillet w mushroom sauce, salmon, calamari again & side of veg. Salmon was bit over, calamari consistently good, steak & chips perfectly cooked. Very satisfied!

My friend and I came in for lunch with a booking, our table was dirty and we ended up having to clean up ourselves as the server came over multiple times and didn’t clean up. We took a long time to get served and waited over 45 minutes for our food. Once food arrived, my dish was cold and didn’t come with the extras I ordered, my friends food looked awful and they swapped something on her dish without asking, what if she was allergic? It also took ages for us to get our cutlery to start eating and our iced drinks were warm. Overall not a good experience. Positive notes: there was one server who was nice, and the bacon was good.

First and last visit. I really wanted to like this café, but unfortunately, the experience made that impossible. I arrived for a booking and went to the counter to check in. The staff were busy making orders, which I completely understand — but a simple “someone will be with you shortly” would’ve gone a long way. Just a touch of acknowledgment… basic hospitality, really. When we were eventually shown to our table, I was genuinely taken aback. It hadn’t been cleared — used mugs, coffee spills, and sauce splatters were all over it. A waitress came to collect a few items, then returned again to grab the rest, and finally, a few minutes later, brought us menus — still seemingly unaware of the mess. I ended up cleaning the table myself with a napkin. Because clearly, that's what guests are meant to do now. While we were waiting, an older gentleman (not staff, but worth noting) approached our table and hovered uncomfortably close to comment on my friend’s tattoos — ending his speech with a wildly inappropriate and invasive question. Not the café’s fault per se, but certainly didn’t help the already uncomfortable lunch experience. It took about 15 minutes before our order was taken, and when our iced chocolate drinks arrived, they were barely cold and tasted watered down. Not exactly the kind of drink you’d expect to go wrong, but here we are. Then came the food — eventually. About 45 minutes after ordering, —The bagel was cold and missing the extras we paid for. The burrito bowl? Visually unappealing and somehow tasted worse. And to top it off, an ingredient was swapped out without asking — which is especially concerning considering dietary restrictions or allergies. When it came time to pay, there was no “how was everything?” or even basic politeness. Just a transaction, and not a pleasant one. I’ve worked in hospitality — I know what it’s like when things get busy. But this wasn’t just a rough day. It was a string of oversights and a serious lack of basic customer service. Definitely not worth the money, or the time

At very short notice we needed a table for lunch for eight people and three dogs (so outside, obviously), after plans for a birthday lunch had to change. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a lovely spot on the deck outside the Devonport Maritime Museum. We tried a number of the dishes and everyone gave the food 10/10. Coffee was also delicious. The service was excellent and our waitress was pleasant, quick and happy to assist with any requests. A must do when in Devonport and we'll definitely be back.

We had a lovely visit to Dine Boat Devonport! The Belgian waffle was absolutely divine—perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, with just the right amount of sweetness. The breakfast toast was equally delightful, with fresh ingredients and a hearty, satisfying flavor. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made our experience even better. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxed and delicious start to your day!

The restaurant is situated a good location where you can enjoy the sea view. And it’s a cozy place. Large coffee is really price worthy. And the restaurant has lots of options to choose from for lunch and dinner. Today we tried their breakfast, and we thought the flavour was a bit too light.

Enjoyed an amazing dining experience at this cozy spot right in front of Mercy River! The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing meal with beautiful river views. The food is absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and flavors that stand out. Highly recommend this place for a wonderful meal in a scenic setting!

We embarked on this gem of a fusion cafe & restaurant with a breathtaking view of the Mersey River. Our timing was perfect as the Spirit of Tasmania ferry passed by, prompting us to sit on the deck to embrace the beautiful ambiance. The restaurant was clean and had a pleasant vibe, with welcoming and efficient staff. We started with the Tempura squid, which was simply incredible. If you enjoy fried calamari, this is a lighter, crispier version that melts in your mouth—absolutely irresistible. For our main courses, we chose the famous Nasi Goreng and the Chef's special Scallop curry. The chef created a delightful seafood feast with a variety of flavours in each dish. The creamy coconut curry scallops were a highlight—Savory and perfect for savouring large sea scallops in a fragrant curry sauce. This aromatic dish is a seafood lover's dream and an absolute must-try. The exotic Nasi Goreng, an Indonesian fried rice, impressed us with its unique dark brown rich caramelized colour. It was served with a sunny-side-up egg (the yolk blending beautifully with the rice), alongside fresh cucumber and a slice of caramelized pineapple. This dish is a delicious blend of flavours that transported us to paradise in just a few bites. To wrap up our meal we ordered the blueberry pavlova. In my opinion, this is the perfect indulgent dessert to finish any meal. A crispy outer shell and a fluffy marshmallow centre, topped with pillows of whipped cream and fresh blueberries. They offer a diverse selection of coffees and an amazing hot chocolate. The menu features various meal options that emphasize fresh, local produce. It's clear why Dineboat receives such high ratings from its customers—we absolutely loved it. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Stopped for lunch. Was a fantastic meal. Full flavours, with excellent service. A great place to enjoy a superb meal and watch the world go by. I enjoyed the Una Black Pork Curry. Never had this dish before, and will definitely be ordering again!

Beautiful cosy cafe with range of meal options! Inviting atmosphere and very friendly staff. Meal portions were so generous and cooked to perfection 💛 We had lot of different drinks from the menu and they were all amazingly delicious 🤤 Hands down the best in town! (My kids were offered colouring pages while we wait, and children enjoyed a lot ! ) Thank you DineBoat for this amazing food experience, we would definitely come back… 🙏🙏🙏

100% the best Nasi Goreng I’ve ever eaten. Such a friendly place, with the cosiest atmosphere. Beautiful owners who could not have been more helpful or kind, they even brought out pencils and colouring in paper for our kids. The view of the river with the maritime theme inside is so cute. Highly recommend the Sri Lankan food and really excited to go back and try more.

Moving to Burnie a few months ago and discoved this place, I have immensely impressed with the food and environment! All the staff there are so friendly and the owners are so lovely! They have an amazing selection of Sri Lankan and Western food both. Also it’s a great location to enjoy a meal as well.

We extend our congratulations to Kim, Bruce and Kurt Robinson on the grand opening of The Atrium Cafe at The Cove Tasmania. The establishment boasts a stunning aesthetic setting, complemented by exquisite furnishings and an atmosphere that is truly captivating with magnificent views even on an overcast winter day. The service was exceptional, provided with warmth and friendliness, and the meals were all expertly presented and delectable. The menu offers an extensive range of choices, catering to diverse tastes.

Positives include good range and price of wine. Great view and comfortable furnishings. Sorry but we had lamb burger which was half the size of the bun with a slice of red onion, small portion of spinach and hand full of chips..$30 We eat out to experience different food and the menu is very unimaginative. The male waiter was the best of the service staff.

Food was average and customer service lacking. We were only spoken to twice by the waitresses, once to order and once when food was delivered. There was no check-in to see how the meal was, nor were our plates cleared even after 15 minutes. I had egg shell in my fritters and let them know when I paid, an insincere apology was given. The breakfast burger is one egg, one piece of bacon and one slice of cheese with some sauce..The view and coffee are lovely though.

Popped out today and had the most delicious brunch. Ambience was great as was our wait person Luke. Great to have someone with personality and he had it in abundance. Well done to everyone.
