Cafe
Breakfast restaurant
Located on Digbeth Street in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, The Hive is a charming café known for its classic fare and rustic ambiance. The cozy interior with stone walls creates a homey setting where visitors can enjoy freshly roasted coffee and homemade artisan produce throughout the day. The fully licensed eatery offers a laid-back atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a delicious Cotswolds brunch or just to drop in for a drink.
The warmest of welcomes as we came through the door. Lovely staff, couldn't do enough for us. Literally every member of staff smiled and that goes a long way. The venue is a clean and tidy cafe, very well presented. The menu had plenty to choose from and the Full Hive breakfast was outstanding. We will definitely return.

Just left the cafe and feel we have to review straight away as it was fantastic. Struggled to find a cafe with gluten free options and the hive had plenty. We had the warmest welcome, gorgeous brunch (such good GF bread!!!) and such good coffee. I would recommend the Hive to anyone.
Miss M — Google review
One of my family members raved about this cafe/restaurant during their trip to Stow-on-the-Wold last year, so of course, we had to try it while visiting the Cotswolds. We arrived shortly before closing one afternoon and were seated right away. We tried the vegan sticky toffee pudding and a “pim” slice of cake: both were so good!! You couldn’t tell that the sticky toffee pudding was vegan at all, especially with its rich and decadent frosting. We enjoyed every bite and would definitely return the next time we’re visiting!

I really wanted to leave a 5 star review, however, i found the price point to be excessive which I presume is “cotswold weighting” largely I guess to the number of one hit tourists visiting. Im not a fan of tipping culture in coffee shops and cafes, and being asked to tip, even though its polite (I did tip) added to an already expensive experience. Everything else is as you would expect, well presented and pleasant.
Rob — Google review
The Hive was such a good find - we stayed in the apartment and ate in the cafe. Both were excellent! Spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable apartment where attention to detail is evident. Absolutely everything has been thought of - from the electric remotely operated skylights, to every conceivable kitchen item, plenty of crockery, glasses etc so no need to keep washing up/putting dishwasher on, lovely white company bed linen and towels, smart TV with soundbar, underfloor heating in the bathroom, and so on. The cafe downstairs was the best we ate in throughout our week in the area (and we tried a few!). Deserving of it's obviously good reputation, made evident by the number of people in for weekend brunch. Lives up to it's name with the 'buzz' of people enjoying food from the exceptionally good menu. Super friendly owners and staff who were not flustered at all by the busy-ness of the cafe - patient, attentive, efficient service. I highly recommend the Hive for food and/or accommodation.
Fiona P — Google review
I recently visited this restaurant and was really impressed with the overall experience. The customer service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The food itself was okay, nothing extraordinary, but still enjoyable. Prices were reasonable, making it a great spot for a nice meal without breaking the bank. The atmosphere and décor were beautiful, creating a relaxing and inviting environment. Overall, a lovely place to dine, especially if you value excellent service and a great vibe.
Thagalini K — Google review
What a pleasure it was to find this adorable little cafe. We enjoyed a Delicious breakfast and experienced excellent service, which is not surprising seeing as the owners are from Up North originally. Lovely to hear the Manchester twang! Would highly recommend

Coffee shop
Huffkins Burford is a historic bakery and tea room located on High Street, Burford. Established in 1890, this charming spot offers a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu features a variety of delicious seasonal dishes, including vegan and gluten-free options. Visitors can indulge in traditional afternoon tea or savor delectable baked goods such as homemade scones, chocolate brownies, eclairs, and more.
Had a great breakfast here on our last day in Burford. Food was delicious and a cute cafe setting. It was fairly quiet on our visit so not much atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have a separate section next door for takeaway orders which was interesting and can see it would be an advantage on busy days
Amie S — Google review
We didn't have the best experience at this coffee shop. The food took quite a while to arrive, and when it did, it was disappointing. The eggs were tasteless and bland, with a very basic presentation—it looked like a homemade dish in a not-so-great way, yet it cost around £15. The pastries were fresh but quite small, and the butter croissant with jam and butter was £5, which felt overpriced. However, the scones were a pleasant surprise—both the savoury and sweet ones were absolutely delicious. I wouldn’t recommend this place, as there are better options nearby that offer better value for money.
Elena — Google review
Set in the most beautiful historic building. Initially when we walked into Huffkins, the cafe only had 2 people in it however we could not find any staff. We returned 10 minutes later & staff were present. There is half table service- you select your meal, pay for it at the counter & then it is brought to the table. We chose the Cotswold cream tea & the savoury cream tea. It was great to see they were using local produce. The clotted Cornwall cream is heavenly. The savoury cream tea was a warm cheese scone with farm butter & the most delicious house tomato chutney. This tea house offer vegan, gluten free & children's menus. Dog friendly. Outdoor seating. Bakery next door.
Trish S — Google review
Came here for lunch with my family and was quite disappointed. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, but it just looked and tasted like a cheap frozen breaded chicken burger, it was not crispy and the bun was dry. At £15, it really didn’t feel worth the price. The scone was also underwhelming. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and the venue itself was lovely, but unfortunately, I wouldn’t return.
Josephine W — Google review
Located in a gorgeous building on the main high street of Burford, this lovely tea room and restaurant is a delightful stop for visitors to the area. The staff were attentive and helpful, the food came quickly and was top notch. Couldn’t recommend Huffman’s more!
Martyn P — Google review
A truly delightful experience in Burford! The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, the staff were lovely, and the vegan cream tea was absolutely exceptional. Everything was beautifully done — the perfect spot for a sweet, peaceful break in the heart of the Cotswolds.
Stefano — Google review
Looking at the menu and the prices you would expect a fine afternoon tea establishment. However, the most recent afternoon tea experience was the proverbial nail in the coffin. Each of the last 3 visits have become incrementally more disappointing than the last. Firstly, staff here are very junior and make everything from seating, ordering, and paying much more difficult than it ought to be. There needs to be a duty manager that caters for large tables, or more complex orders. Eventually, the more senior staff member did indeed attend. From the garish pink decor, to forgetting to provide cutlery and plates, to not being familiar with their own menu such that our party had to advise them of the usual inclusions in the afternoon tea, the whole experience was a poor showing from start to finish. There were no offers for beverage top-ups, one millisecond check-in, and service from multiple staff members was cold and curt. The food was poor value at best and poor at worst (particularly the sandwiches), and those with gluten intolerances were somehow treated as if their orders were an inconvenience. With the immense margins on a £65 afternoon tea for 2, one may reasonably expect a higher standard of service. Needless to say there are better alternatives for afternoon tea elsewhere. Hufkins needs to improve their service for this offering in particular.
Nathaniel C — Google review
Found this place on Google and decided to make a trip to visit for Afternoon Tea. It’s a cosy place with 135-years of history. Ordered the Afternoon Tea for Two and we ended up packing the sandwiches for dinner.

Lucy's Tearoom is a charming, family-run establishment located in a listed stone building in Stow-on-the-Wold's main square. This traditional English tearoom and B&B offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a delightful courtyard garden at the back. Open daily from 10am to 4pm, it's an ideal stop for enjoying teas, cakes, soups, light lunches, as well as wine and beer while exploring the town or browsing antique shops.
Heard this place was famous for scones, and they definitely lived up to the hype. Surprisingly, the tuna mayo toastie we ordered was the highlight—absolutely delicious. It was busy with a bit of a wait, but totally worth it.
SE J — Google review
I visited on a Thursday in August so it was quite busy. I ordered a Ploughman's lunch and was told there was a 30 minute wait for food so I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived after only 20 minutes. The Ploughman's itself was excellent - no ham but a tasty sausage roll instead along with sweet pickle, pickled onions and gherkins and of course the obligatory slab of cheese with bread and butter. Very enjoyable 😃😄😃😄😃

I had such a wonderful experience at this tea room! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, but what truly makes it special is the staff. They are incredibly attentive, genuinely kind, and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Every detail, from the service to the presentation, reflects great care and thoughtfulness. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax, enjoy your tea, and feel completely at ease. Highly recommended!

We were lucky enough to stay here this past weekend. We haven’t stopped talking about it since! The building is warm and charming in the gorgeous square of Stow-on-the-Wold. Everything is within walking distance. The room was perfectly cozy and the bed was perfect. We were the only ones there for the night. We met Dawn who was the absolute best host we’ve ever come across. From welcoming us with the best shortbread to giving dinner recommendations, to coming in early with the rest of the team to serve our breakfast before they opened to the public. She even gave us keys so we could come and go through the shop after hours since our room was tucked away in the courtyard! You can stay somewhere else if you’d like, but I’m willing to bet you’d have a better experience at Lucy’s. Besides - you would miss out on Dawn. You’d regret that for sure!
Hank L — Google review
We went today, on a rainy morning, attracted by the place and the reviews. The atmosphere was cosy, very homely and rustic, and both the teas (with lots to choose from) and the cakes, scones and sandwiches were spectacular. But best of all was the attitude and service of the waiters, both Max, who took our order, and the girls, all helpful, attentive, joking and very professional. A ten out of ten experience, we hope to return one day, it's nice to find people and places like this.

Bakery on the Water is a family-run artisan bakery located in the picturesque Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water. Established in 1978, this charming bakery offers an array of top-quality baked goods, including freshly baked scones, rich Eccles cakes, and delectable Chelsea buns. Visitors can also enjoy rustic sandwiches, traditional pastries, and savory options like pasties and quiches.
This was definitely the right place for breakfast! Both mornings we ate here, there was a line out the door. We ate in and enjoyed scrambled eggs on toast with a flat white. The bread was freshly made, the eggs were nice and cheesy and the flat white was made to perfection! We really enjoyed having breakfast here and highly recommend.

Fantastic little cosy place, placed in the lovely town of Bourton-on-the-Water. It has been a great moment finding this place, amongst all other bakeries. We also arrived quite late in the day so not many of the other places were open. Great service and lovely pastries as well ;)
Michael ( — Google review
We had the best cinnamon rolls, so fresh and squishy and huge, the icing was very tasty too and served in a muffin case - so cute!! smooth flat whites, served at the right temperature. Fab little garden at the back just watch for the wasps …. Bonus points for being dog friendly. All the bakes and pastries looked amazing making it a tough decision. Would have been 5 stars but you refused my Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 money even though it is legal currency in the uk……
Rachel P — Google review
Brought a malted loaf very late in the day. They managed to sell one for me, as I think they were all sealed up and ready to put away. Reasonable price for a large loaf, £3.80.
Elisa W — Google review
The bakery on the water was a bit of a disappointment to me. I purchased a sandwich a sausage roll and two pastries for a whopping £25. The food itself wasn’t bad however it didn’t not distinguish itself from other cheaper bakeries a short walk a way. The sandwich and the sausage roll took 20 minutes to toast and I was ignored by the staff. What a-shame, had the food been cheaper I would not of mined but for a premium price I expected a bit more.
Gvs — Google review
Very cozy small cafe with very delicious food and drinks! Had a spot at the window with a lovely view.
Maria M — Google review
Nice sitting area with lovely view, service is fast, friendly staff. We loved the lemon cake (11/10), the sandwiches were tasty (vegetarian option) and the cortado very well done.
Amal E — Google review
I marked down a star because of the wasps, I know it can't be helped, but I spent my visit on edge. The focaccia I ordered came with a surprise salad and crisps that I didn't realise was included. All was very delicious and the iced tea I had was also very nice. Would visit again, just maybe with a citronella candle.

Visitors rave about the delightful atmosphere, helpful staff, and delectable food and drinks. The indoor and garden seating areas provide a charming setting to savor the tasty offerings.
Broadway Deli is a gem in the heart of the Cotswolds! I picked up some clotted cream fudge, marmalades, and their Scotch eggs, and everything was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and the deli itself is charming and full of high-quality, locally-sourced goodies. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

What a treasure place! Over the years I brought few pieces pretty porcelain plates and bowls, they are not cheap but definitely worth it. The exotic fruit and vegetables and the bakery are most attracted to us. We never come out of the shop with empty hands.

Quaint little shop on the Broadway high street. The deli is full of items you never thought of but actually would really like to try! They have a crockery section too with unique pieces and collections. Their deli section is fresh and packaged really well for takeaway. Prices met the standard for a local deli. Only wish their outside seating area was open.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Broadway Deli – Broadway 🥕🧀🌿 What a wonderful little gem in the heart of Broadway! ✨ The whole shop feels like a celebration of good taste and colour — from the amazing fresh vegetables 🥦🥕 to the smell of bread and cheese filling the air. We popped in just to browse and ended up buying a Bordello Pinio plate shaped like an artichoke 🥰🍽️ — absolutely beautiful craftsmanship, couldn’t resist! Staff were friendly, the produce looked like it came straight from a countryside painting, and the whole place has that warm, rustic charm that makes you want to move in. 💛 A must-visit for anyone who loves fine food, beautiful things, and the art of good living. #BroadwayDeli #CotswoldsCharm #FreshProduce #FoodLoversParadise #ArtichokePlate

Broadway deli is know for produce and the deli but their restaurant food is fantastic. There is a great room upstairs for larger group that is very cozy. Cheese Souffle was the best I ever had. Food was way better than expected. High recommend.
Hendri E — Google review
Get in there because of the local fruit and vegetables. But decided to sit in because they have a nice open area for dine in. Not much seat so may need to wait a bit. But the food and coffee is good enough for waiting. The one really impressed me is the SOUFFLÉ, Twice baked cheddar soufflé & dressed salad with bread & local Holmleigh Dairy butter. I have never had something like that before in UK. They do have a good barista, and you can order extra hot coffee if you want. But we are all good with the normal coffees. We did enjoy a very good morning there. Finally I bought a sausage roll take away for my next day lunch and it is really delicious too even I ate it cool. I will definitely go again when I visit Broadway.
Zennot C — Google review
It was a beautiful shop where you can dine in with limited snack options. Fresh fruits and vegetables and different sections. Definitely worth browsing a d buying.

We came here to eat with our extended family on a Thursday. The place was quite busy and unfortunately, we ended up having to wait for our food for a very long time (about an hour). The staff were friendly and attentive, but the service wasn’t good. After the long wait, some of our side dishes were missing when we finally got served. Also our calamari starter didn’t arrive and we were told we already had it. Well, we didn’t have it, didn’t eat anything for the first hour. By the time we got served, the restaurant was almost empty, with just us in it and a couple of other guests. Anyway, the waiter apologised and served us everything in the end. He was very patient and nice and so were we. Fortunately, the food was good, everyone finished their meal and enjoyed it. The calamari was tasty.

I almost never leave 1* review but this place is abysmal. I don’t even know what the fries were supposed to be but everything from the presentation to the taste was absolutely awful. The burger was dry and was the cheapest frozen patty I think you could buy, with cheddar cheese in (weird cheese for a burger) and just to top it off the coke/pepsi was flat. But atleast we got a mega sized portion of coleslaw and half a chips worth of BBQ sauce. The prices here are astronomical for some of the worst food you could get

The interior was nice. Slow service, waited at host desk for about 10minutes with no one in sight. Had to pay at bar. The breakfast was disappointing, plain, just tasted of microwave. Small juice glasses constantly have to go up to refill. Waitress took the drinks station few minutes early too which was inconvenient.

Second visit here - another very positive experience. Staff were cheerful and helpful when we arrived and so it continued. Our waitress, Sue, was friendly and efficient; our food came promptly with good timings between courses. Both the steak and lasagna were delicious. Definitely recommended!

Coming from South Wales to meet up with friends from the midlands, this was about half way for both of us. We booked a meal deal with the Premier inn. We had a drink on arrival and booked our table for 7pm in the restaurant area for our evening meal. The serving staff were great, the place is clean and the food was good standard pub grub. However, we were a bit disappointed at the end of the night when we decided to have one for the road. Went up to the bar and a stern lady told me the bar was closed and it closes at 10pm, this was 10.02. When I told her that the website states it is open until 11pm she told me there's nothing she could do as it has been shutting at 10pm for 2 years. I asked why the time (on this site) had not been altered and Mrs Stern told me she could do nothing about that. Really??? What's the matter with getting your regional manager to get whoever updates the site to alter it? My main gripe was not the closing time, but the fact that nobody had come to warn us the bar was closing soon, or rung a bell of some sort. You've eaten, we've had your money, now there's the door. If we'd known we would have had another drink and been out of there by 10.30 no problem, not exactly into the early hours is it? It wont stop us meeting up there again as everything else was fine.

Attended early evening (17:30 booked table) and restaurant not busy. Shown table and after bringing drinks order, left to peruse menu. Ordered RibEye steak (medium rare)with Diane sauce, served with usual accompaniments and was very nice. Waiting Staff were very professional and attentive all time. - Recommended.

Cotswold Barn is a charming shop and cafe with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owners, family, and staff are friendly, down-to-earth, and dedicated to providing an excellent experience for visitors. The food is fresh, delicious, and locally sourced. They serve comforting English breakfast dishes alongside a nice selection of cooked dishes and hot drinks at reasonable prices. The coffee is decent, and the portion sizes are generous.
Quite simply one of the best breakfasts we have ever had. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the full English breakfast. Harriet had the Eggs Benedict. All the ingredients were fresh and local and all beautifully presented. Being a bit greedy we also had a cake too - the orange and cranberry cake was freshly made and absolutely delicious. All the service was first class too, everyone was so friendly. A special mention to Caroline who served us and was so helpful and fun. Lastly I must mention the cleanliness. The whole place was spotlessly clean and immaculately presented which matters to us so much. Thank you, everyone we will definitely be back! 🙏🎉🥳👏

First time here and it was just lovely. Service was great and food was delicious. Lovely location and plenty of car parking. Maybe only downside is the toilet is in an outside building and not the best quality but no bother to us. Bumped into the owner who was so nice and had a chat with us. Would recommend to visit if you are in the area!

Upon arrival my wife and I were greeted with absolute joy and explained where we can sit, even offered multiple tables to sit. We looked through their small menu and ended up deciding on two apples juices and a slice of spiced pear and cranberry cake. Within minutes of ordering our drinks and cake arrived, the juices were lovely and cold. The cake is absolutely amazing, not over sweet but all the flavours bursting through with every bite and is incredibly enjoyable. Definitely worth the visit

Stopped off on our way back from visiting diddly squat farm. Stopped for a quick drink and ended up finding a little gem. We were welcomed by the most wonderful man who showed us to our table. We ordered apple juice with a spiced pear and cranberry cake which were both absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back

Love this place, we booked for breakfast, midweek, no problem with booking and seated straight away, excellent menu choices, great quality ingredients, sausages were amazing!! Situated in rolling hills with fabulous views, We were treated to a BMW rally which we sat and admired. In all a lovely experience, we will be back!!

Simple but very comforting and tasty breakfast. Serving up hearty English breakfast dishes we all know and love. The small veggie English breakfast was just the right amount and cooked very well. They have a nice selection of cooked dishes and hot drinks on the menu with additional items you can add to your breakfast depending on how hungry you are. The coffee is pretty decent and the prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. The service was superb and the staff are really friendly, despite it being a windy, rainy and cold day. There is a really nice wooden (and covered) outdoor eating area which offers a good amount of protection from any bad weather whilst we're still having to dine outdoors only.

Stopped here for breakfast with a friend. We both chose to opt for the 53 breakfast. (£15) Whilst I had a flat white and he had English tea. Service was good (order at the bar) whilst the breakfast itself came relatively quickly. Unfortunately the sausages were very over done ( very dry and tough) which let it down, however the rest of the breakfast was really good and tasty - great quality ingredients. Atmosphere was pretty good, lots of seating and seems to be itudoor seating too (that area was closed off when we went)

Missed opportunities here … I ordered lunch which was pleasant enough. On ordering, I paid up front, which is fine, however the terminal prompted me to offer a tip upfront which is completely back to front, so I politely declined. Surely a tip should be given for the service based on the customers experience. As I collected the menus, and our drinks no really service was given apart from delivery two plates of food to the table which is hardly service. On finishing the food which was pleasant enough we asked politely to have our plates cleared by the waiter (using the terminology loosely). As he was passing and had an empty tray after bringing food to an adjacent table, he said I’ll get someone else to collect it. Despite returning to our table a few times he still didn’t collect the plates.Obviously he thought it beneath him, eventually it was collected by ‘him’ . On finishing our lunch a group of people were looking for a table for four, so I mentioned that we about to go and offered the table to them. The waiter then said the table was reserved, which it wasn’t as we were still sitting there he then moved a reserved sign on to the table for another table in front of us. I politely mentioned that we had offered the table to waiting group, and as we hadn’t left how could it be reserved. By his lack of understanding he was either having a bad day or lacked any service skills, I think the latter was the case …anyway moving on! The outside area has the potential to be really lovely … unfortunately it was tired and the tables were not wiped once between service and the are chairs grubby, it would take a little effort to elevate the outside area to make a place to return too… unfortunately we won’t. be coming back. In summary good food, shocking service from one individual, I guess we all have bad days!

Quite busy with a nice vibe. Tasty food, although a touch pricey for what you get. We shared the smoked salmon on toast which was nice although slightly too much whipped goats cheese and not enough fennel to balance the dish. Good quality drinks and friendly service.

Absolutely LOVED our visit to Martha’s! We visited on a very busy Sunday & even though the team were run off their feet, we were welcomed with smiles & looked after from start to finish. The coffee was excellent & our brunch was delicious. We had the sausage, fried egg, Swiss cheese & onion chutney on toasted sourdough & it was so good! I think I’ll be dreaming of that taste forever 🤤 the flavours really complimented each other, round of applause for whoever came up with that combo! The seating area is small but it’s so cosy & it’s a lovely setting to relax. We also loved the decor, especially the salt & pepper pots! I really want to stress how lovely the team were. Hospitality is hard work, especially on extremely busy days, but the guys at Martha’s couldn’t have been more accommodating for us. Thank you so much, We will definitely be back 🫶🏻✨

We stayed in the airbnb the night before and decided to have breakfast in the morning… how could you not after smelling the cooking below you. The food was absolutely delicious, atmosphere was peaceful and beautiful and the service and staff were outstanding. We had an iced latte each (with oat milk) followed by the sausage, fried egg, emmental and red onion jam breakfast bun (we asked for scrambled egg instead of fried and they happily obliged) and this was insanely good. A perfect start to the day. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone visiting the area. Locally sourced food that was beautifully cooked to perfection all for a decent price.

There is free car parking directly outside.

Beautiful atmosphere, but unfortunately let down by poor service. There were six staff members—two at the front and the rest in the back—yet the service was extremely slow. We ordered scones, coffee, and an English breakfast, and it took 40 minutes for the breakfast to arrive. It appeared that the team in the kitchen was disorganized and lacked coordination. While waiting, we noticed concerning hygiene practices: one staff member handling food was taking ingredients like cheese, bread, and lettuce from multiple places without washing her. FOH very good job BOH take the mic

OK to decent coffee shop, I didn't try the coffee, I came to have full English breakfast. There are not many parking spaces, so arrive early, you may get blocked in but the staff are aware of this. The breakfast was OK, it was above greasy spoon cafe quality but there was no baked beans, or black pudding. It was OK, the sourdough bread was nice though. The pancakes were good, as was the milkshake. On the first floor there is a shop selling clothes, kids books, toys crafts etc.

Food is generally good but service can be slow. We rarely visit though, as they will turf you out at 4 on the dot, regardless. When they say closing at 4 they really mean last orders at 3:30 and doors locked at 4pm. Could really learn about customer service from a café further down the canal who are lovely and friendly and will happily make a drink and cake 5 minutes before stated closing time. They let you consume this on the premises while they carry on cleaning up.

Really lovely place. Staff are friendly. Chill lovely vibes with amazing food. The cream tea is 100% worth the price. I never knew there was an upstairs with a few bits to shop from so that was a very nice surprise. There is a car park for the caffe or off road parking a short walk down the road.

I booked here for my sisters baby shower. The food was absolutely delicious and freshly made. The only thing that I felt let down by was a welcome from the staff and also service to see if everything was ok for the group or more drinks needed as the teapots kept running dry! But the thing that really did put me off was basically being swept out of the door before closing !

This cafe has been one of our top highlights in Blockley (which kept us coming back 4 days in a row). We love the fresh artisanal food that’s prepared with much care by the chef and team. Blockley Cafe’s hot chocolate with cream is the best we’ve ever had. Ordered a vegetarian breakfast (without the egg) and an iced coffee. The staff were really polite and helpful. It was quite busy when we went as there was a hen group present, but the waiting times for our food was still reasonable. The food was sooo tasty. Rixy's Cotswold Tearoom, located on the High Street, is a charming stop for a delightful homemade breakfast and lunch experience. The tearoom offers an array of delectable options including Full English breakfast, American pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, as well as gluten-free cakes and scones. Visitors can also indulge in a scrumptious afternoon tea featuring tasty sandwiches, soft and fresh bread, heavenly scones, and delicious cakes.
This was our first visit to the Cotswolds and we wanted to get the full authentic afternoon tea experience as we've never had it before and let me tell you booking at Rixy's was the best choice we could have made! The afternoon tea had to be ordered and paid for in advance because they are making the food fresh to order which I think is fantastic! When we arrived, we had a really warm welcome and the staff were so friendly. There was basically no wait to have our drinks order taken and the food arrived promptly after. In terms of the food, this place is such a treat! The afternoon tea here was divine. Everything was freshly baked, the ingredients they used were extremely fresh and the food tasted amazing, I honestly wouldn't change a thing. I would highly recommend coming here for afternoon tea or even lunch when you get a chance, you will not regret it!

We went here twice for breakfast. The only reason we didn't go three times was because we had to be on the train before it opened. We were impressed with the gluten-free options. There were several guests who had their dogs. The coffee, tea, and the main dishes were all wonderful!

Visited today having been gifted a voucher for afternoon tea, and it didn’t disappoint! A super friendly welcome, our table already reserved with water on hand. Our drinks order was taken, and swiftly arrived at our table. Then the main event, possibly the best afternoon tea we’ve ever tasted. Unbelievably fresh ingredients, the flavours were out of this world. Honestly, if you’re looking for afternoon tea, or even a good breakfast or lunch, in the Cotswolds, look no further! Thank you all at Rixy’s for a true 5 star experience.

We sat in the cute garden. The gluten-free scones were so good! A choice of plain, fruited or savoury with jam and clotted cream. The price for 2 scones included coffee or tea, and was very reasonable. Will be back as we're local and there were plenty of gluten - free options. Friendly people working there too. 😊

Had a delicious cream tea here. Everything thing tasted great and it’s well worth visiting if you’re in the area although you should definitely pre book as it’s quite popular. The staff were friendly and went the extra mile as I have a serious allergy. Sandwich’s were delicately made and yummy as well as the selection of cakes. Highly recommend
Thomas J — Google review
Tried this café recently and had mixed feelings. The food was tasty and the service was genuinely excellent—friendly and attentive throughout. Their white mocha is a standout and definitely worth trying. However, there was a serious issue with the gluten-free labeling. I ordered a “gluten-free breakfast” which came with regular gluten bread. This could be dangerous for anyone with a gluten allergy or coeliac disease. When asked, staff didn’t seem fully aware of the risk. If you require a strict gluten-free diet, I’d recommend avoiding until they clarify their menu and kitchen practices. The space is also quite small, and when a couple of people brought in dogs, it quickly became cramped. Cozy, yes—but not ideal during busy periods especially with a couple of wet dogs in the space . A great café for coffee lovers without dietary restrictions, but disappointing (and potentially harmful) for those who need gluten-free options.

The selection of food was amazing and we had never been before, we went after being recommended, however our starters were a mixture of raw, overcooked and rubbery. Our mains were not edible due to raw sides and over cooked and dry meat, the drinks were great and our server was lovely, however, food was incredibly disappointing, which was a shame as, the service and atmosphere was lovely, after a whopping £60 with some dishes taken off the bill, unfortunately I would not say it’s a value for money and I would not return

Their menu features everything from classic full English breakfasts to vegan options, ensuring that all dietary preferences are catered for. For those seeking a quick bite, their small breakfast is affordably priced at 6.
We recently had lunch here, and it was an experience worth sharing. The meal was nothing short of exceptional, both in flavour and value. We ordered the grill mixt and shepherd’s pie, and both dishes exceeded our expectations. The grill mixt was a hearty selection of perfectly cooked meats, each bursting with flavour. The shepherd's pie, rich and comforting, had a beautifully seasoned filling topped with a golden, fluffy mash – the very definition of a classic done right. But the true highlights of our meal were the desserts. The apple pie was a delightful blend of sweet and tart, with a flaky, buttery crust that was simply irresistible. The carrot cake was moist and perfectly spiced, with a cream cheese frosting that added the perfect touch of indulgence. It was the cherry on top of an already satisfying meal. Adding to the experience was the service – attentive, friendly, and efficient. The staff made us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

Great place. We went for breakfast and both had the New York Pancakes with bacon on top. Very tasty. I liked that the bacon were chunked rather than whole pieces. We had a side of hash browns which were also very good. Service was good. Dog friendly. Cool spot.

It ain't no coffee place, it's a fully fledged rest-o-raunt. Coffee not too bad, in fact it's better than a lot of stuff out there. My eggs on my benedict were well cooked, and by that we're not talking overdone, we're talking cooked well. We're also talking cost effective pricing so why are there only three stars showing? It's all down to my personal preferences and Revival can't cater to what they're not aware of. Latte served in a glass is a no no. Latte served without a swirly is a no no. Give me a spoon that looks like Uri Geller's had a go at it is a no no no. Benedict served on a roof tile........ other than that.......

We had a great time dining here—it made our visit to Cheltenham feel quite the adventure. The owner, staff, and even the customers were all really friendly. Lovely food, and it was so nice sitting outside, watching people go about their day.

First time trying this cafe but so pleased I did! The staff were absolutely lovely. The drinks and food came so quickly! Special mention to Emma who was a delight to deal with. Would highly recommend for some quick, easy and tasty food. Kids portion was just right for my 3 year old daughter who ate every bite! Apparently they were understaffed but you would never have known!

The Bantam Tea Rooms & Guest House is a charming spot in Chipping Campden, featuring a traditional English feel with its honey-colored Cotswold stone building. The top level offers plenty of seating and a cozy atmosphere. While there are steps at the entrance, there's a grab rail for assistance. It's an ideal place to start the day with a hot cup of coffee and delicious tea cakes.
I stayed here for 3 nights in Room 3 which is a single and small but is lovely and has everything you could need. Nice and cool in the hot weather. Great location, a bonus to have parking, and the breakfasts were nice and quick (I was always in a hurry!). The staff were especially great - thank you for a great stay! (Oh and the cakes are amazing too 😊)

Food was good and the service was nice and friendly. BUT. The place was full of wasps, inside and outdoors. Maybe it’s seasonal but we then saw a hive in their garden, right in front of some outdoor dining tables. We saw other people moving tables trying to avoid the wasps, just like us. We had to finish the food quickly and take the coffee and deserts away. Very nice place with an unnecessary complication.

Amazing tea in Chipping Campden! We arrived after a walk and were awed by the scones, cakes, and drinks served by friendly and attentive staff. We sat out back in sight of the seventeenth-century guildhall. Couldn’t ask for a more picturesque experience with memorable delicious baked treats and fine tea.

We stopped here for a cream tea, and it was absolutely delightful! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, creating such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The scones were exceptional, freshly baked, perfectly fluffy on the inside, and served with delicious clotted cream and jam. Honestly, they were some of the best scones I’ve ever had! The tea was nicely brewed and complemented the scones beautifully. Overall, a charming spot with great service and wonderful treats. I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area! On a side note, the staff member we spoke to mentioned he’s expecting his first child, such lovely news, and we wish him all the best!

Beautiful tea rooms in the heart of Chipping Campden. We had a full English breakfast which was delicious and really good value for money. Service was spot on - really friendly and welcoming staff. We’ll definitely be back to try homemade cake (which look amazing!!)

A little disclaimer to other travelers who are used to good service and fair prices: - it took the staff 5 minutes to just clean out table and we had to ask them for wiping our table and it was dirty like hell - you have to order at the front door and the staff ignores you completly when you do hand signs without any explanation. Therefore it took loads of minutes till we figured out how things work in there - the vegetarian breakfast wasnt enough to feel well fed. when ordering more toast be prepared to get robbed: one plain toast costs 2 pounds on top of 12,50 pounds per meal already. and for that the meal was plain, boring and not even well presented. so a quite underwhelming experience - the staff wasnt quite welcoming and seemes very stressed even tough they had a lot of personnel running around. maybe they should consider restructuring their way to work: you are not efficient when carrying one pot of coffee at a time... - the boss of the restaurant was nice tho. she wiped the dirty table when her staff failed to do so ✨ So in a nutshell: Better spend your money on something else- this breakfast wasn't worth it all. The location is nice and thats it. Very disappointing.
RIORDIAN — Google review
Went twice during a weekend visit - coffee is ok but it’s worth going just to watch the chaos in the shop. It’s like being part of Fawlty Towers - the organisation is terrible. First time we were shown to a table but no one took our order until we went to the till. Second visit we were given menus by the door and just left being told to look through- then the next staff member came up to say why didn’t you go to a free table? It’s comical

Nestled in the heart of Burford, The Priory Burford - Cafe Tearooms & Accommodation is a delightful destination that beautifully marries history with modern comfort. Guests can indulge in an array of British fare crafted from local and seasonal ingredients, all while enjoying the picturesque garden patio.
Popped in for lunch after our journey from Kent. I had the full English and it was absolutely delicious! All the food was fresh and tasty, they even gave me two more eggs as apparently they weren’t up to their standard which I didn’t even ask for, but was very pleased to say the least! The hot chocolate was probably one of the best I’ve had so so tasty with the cream and sprinkles on top. Me and my fellow companion moved on very very satisfied as we continued our stroll around the beautiful village.

Booked through Secret Escapes, which was a retirement gift. We were dismayed to find that our room was a long distance from the reception and restaurant and up a staircase. There was no service from reception in carrying our luggage to our room, which although was a good size with a large bed, it unfortunately was very outdated with a dirty looking brown carpet and curtains and beige walls. The coffee making machine was broken and had to be fixed the following day. The shower was good and nice toiletries provided. Food was very nice but no toast at breakfast. Staff all pleasant. Entrance area looked worn, and the mat was very dirty. I felt that this area, in particular, needed some work doing in order to look more welcoming. Especially did not like seeing cleaning equipment all stashed under the staircase. Probably would not visit again as the experience was not particularly special.
Lois B — Google review
Rooms were great, nice and clean. Modern and not run down. Breakfast was good, sourdough and poached eggs were good. One thing they need to fix are the exit signs in the rooms, they light up the whole room at night, disturbing your sleep.

Came here for some tea and ice cream while going through Burford and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The tea was great, the ice cream was nice and creamy while not being too sweet, and the scones were fresh too! Definitely worth checking out.

Very friendly & helpful staff. We stopped for a drink before undertaking a 6mile hike. The coffee & chai latte were very good. They even made us sandwiches and wrapped them, so we could take them on our hike. The sandwiches were so good we had another coffee upon our return from the hike. Again, great friendly service.

The Priory is centrally located! This accomodation was spotless with crisp white bed linen! The room has tea and coffee making facilities and was very comfortable and quiet too. The manager was keen to check that we were comfortable and happy with the accomodation. We parked on the road just outside. I highly recommend this place and you must try the fruit scones which are light, fluffy and a culinary delight. Thank you for a comfortable stay in Burford.

Pleasant overnight stay. The rooms are very compact and, being 6' 7", the ceilings felt quite low. But they are very modern and quiet and the location was great. The adjoining tearoom doesn't open till 0930 so went elsewhere for breakfast.

Visited here several times over a few days and overall had a wonderful experience! We were served by a lovely lady with ear stretches one day who was super friendly and helpful! Charming privately owned spot with delicious hot chocolate and sweets. We tried all the bars and found them unique and also dependably chewy and grainy. Like granola with various toppings. The signature hot chocolate with orange was really sweet - recommend a child help you eat it! The owner and the young people working alongside him were welcoming and diligent about clearing tables. We were part of a rush, I think, and still the vibe was graciousness and happiness behind the counter. Free WiFi. Restroom upstairs. People brought their dogs in, and children guests clearly know the drill here. The locals were hanging about having tea and a chat. It was nice to see. We took some dessert bars home so we could continue the memory of this delightful spot from the comfort of our Bnb.

We were in Tewkesbury for a few hours one morning and decided to wander about in the town. There are lots of cafes and eateries but this one stood out to us as it was in a beautiful building and the menu had some classic British choices at reasonable prices. The cafe itself is set within a stunning historic building with a great layout that makes the most of the characterful features. The ladies running the place were exceptionally friendly and attentive. We had a nice window seat on the first floor, which was not too busy so we could enjoy some quiet. The menu has a great selection, but I was drawn to the Bubble and Squeak, which you rarely see available these days. I'm glad I chose it because it was so tasty. I could have eaten it all over again when I'd finished! My partner went for the staple English breakfast, which was a very generous portion and good quality ingredients. The coffees were also very tasty, and once we'd finished we paid the bill. The meal was excellent value for money and if we were in Tewkesbury again we wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Went here today, 8/2/24 for breakfast. It was very wet and cold outside but we had a warm welcome from Debbie the owner as we entered. We ordered 2 full English breakfasts, one with poached and one with scrambled eggs. They were both cooked to order and were presented to us steaming hot with 2 cups of gorgeous coffee. An absolutely top quality, tasty breakfast, the best I've had in a long time. Will definitely return in the near future

Put a Note on Google to advise you do not serve food after a time!!!! We went 2 times, food is okay , chocolate cake is very nice and coffee is nice on the small size tho. Second time we went at 3pm and was told kitchen was closed! There is no Where on the site or Door or Google to say they don’t serve food from 3pm! Even if the Coffee shop is open until 4!!!! They were like 5 members of staff on their phones! If you advertise open Until 4pm please put a Note if you not serving food from 3 to keep the kitchen Clean! Quite pricey too and yes the bread crust on our first time sandwiches was hard but okay.

A real mix of good & bad here. First impressions were pretty poor. No idea whether this was table service or not. No welcome. Tables not cleared from previous customers. No menus in sight. Worked out you had to go to counter to order. Difficult to hear staff because "background" music was too loud. Food was GREAT..... well done. Needed the toilets but no signage..... toilet sign on door down a dark corridor but had to wander around trying to work out where to go. Good facilities. But general condition of restaurant dirty..... crumbs, dust and cobwebs.

We had a lovely time here. Great choice of sweet and savoury treats to tempt you. The scrambled eggs were a generous sized portion and cooked to perfection. Coffees and hot chocolate were good and enjoyably small compared to places that sell bucket sized mugs. What a delightful spot for a cream tea! The scones were absolutely scrumptious—fresh, warm, and with the perfect crumbly texture. Sitting upstairs is a must! The first table by the window, overlooking the serene canal, is pure magic. The view is stunning and adds such a special touch to the experience. The service was fine, though it could have been a bit more friendly and less direct—nothing major, just a touch impersonal. But honestly, the charming setting more than made up for it! I had such a lovely time and would probably come back, especially to snag that dreamy upstairs table again. Highly recommend for a cozy, picturesque treat! 🫖

Very rude staff. We came as four people and bought two ice creams, but were told we couldn’t sit inside because ice cream is “takeaway only.” When we tried to order cake, the staff whispered to each other saying something like “they probably won’t order just one piece,” which was really rude, and then told us we should order more. Be aware — if you don’t order a lot, they won’t let you sit inside.

Bit of a let-down, to be honest. The staff had a bit of an attitude and didn’t seem too fussed about helping. My sister and I visited at lunchtime today (Wednesday 6th August) with her two young children. It was a lovely atmosphere and the food was lovely, but the thing that really stood out was the staff and the service! Super brunch place! Very busy on Saturday morning as they only do walk-ins on weekends. Great friendly staff. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with seasonal fruits (this is specified in the menu) & clotted cream but as far as I'm aware berries and mangoes are not winter fruits so it might be an old menu. However, it was still delicious!! The green smoothie and mango refresher smoothie was absolutely yummy! Very filling. Highly recommend!

Although it was Sunday lunch time and it was very busy, the food was incredible! The amount of salmon for eggs royal was very generous :)! The capucchino was lovely and although it felt quite a squeeze overall it was a nice experience. I think either having some fabric on the walls to make it easier to talk when sat down and having more hangers and places to put their clothes, bags would have been better. Would be back!!!

Popped in for a spot of brunch on Tuesday as my friend had heard good reviews of the food. We had "The Full Find" and "Eggs Benedict" with added bacon and a pair of lattes. All for less than £30. It's counter service when you enter, however they do do table service if you ask. The food was great and the coffee enjoyable. If you find yourself in Cheltenham and fancy a bite to eat and or coffee head to The Find, you won't be disappointed....

Love this place! Salvatore is a champion! Delicious breakfast and awesome coffee... Sicilian style!

I ordered the basil tomato soup and it tasted distinctly like pizza sauce. It came with "warm bread." Really awful fat white sliced bread. One small foil wrapped butter pat. When I asked for another, he tossed another one onto my table. I ordered a decaf latte and got instant decaf latte. He was kind enough to provide the foil packet. The cafe is cute. The owner/server spend the entire time at the 2 tables in front of me trashing a common acquaintance and his "coarse" wife. Yuck on so many levels. Finally, I had just been somewhere earlier, and because I was talking, i misplaced my payment card. The owner/server noticed me searching my pockets and my pack. He loudly said (so the entire restaurant would hear him asking) if I had a problem. I assume he was thinking I was going to stiff and him he was not going to let any shenanigans go unnoticed. I found it. I paid him. And I happily went out into the rain.

We came here as we really wanted to try somewhere different and saw a lovely pic on their fb of eggs Benedict. What we got was a totally different experience. The bacon was COLD, and not crispy as described. The eggs were either undercooked or spoilt. Every time we popped our eggs open, they literally burst out with water. It was actually disgusting. We were hungry, so we ate. Both of us were extremely unwell very very quickly. I honestly would avoid.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. This was an unexpected visit but was pleasantly surprised. The iced drinks were amazing, very good value for money. Food was reasonably priced and tasty. Great service. Will definitely visit again to try their other dishes. Edit: Tried the Eggs benedict too. Environment was once again very friendly. It seemed like they had a lot of regulars too.

This travel stop, known as The Cotswold Outpost, offers pleasant outdoor seating with scenic views. The chef here puts in more effort than the average establishment, resulting in a delightful experience for patrons. Their mashed avocados on toast are exceptional and the spicy tomato sauce is likely homemade. They also sell delicious sourdough bread. The staff is friendly and the cafe has charming decor in a great location. Additionally, they cater to dog owners by offering ice cream for furry friends.
An Absolute Gem of a Café! The food was exceptional — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a delight, and you can really tell they put thought and love into their menu. The BEST coffee I’ve had! Smooth, rich, and expertly brewed and an amazing selection of fresh bakes to go with a coffee (the almond croissants were unreal!). The decor is stunning, they have really captured the New Zealand/ Country vibe. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel like a valued guest from the moment you walk in. There’s plenty of parking, and is both dog and child friendly! Our pup was happily welcomed and enjoyed a puppucchino we were given a dog blanket, treats and fresh water too. All in all, this café is a rare find — a perfect blend of delicious food, great coffee, warm hospitality, and thoughtful design giving incredible value!! Can’t wait to come back again (and again!).

This place delivers everything you could want from a café and more... The food is outstanding, easily the best full English I’ve ever had, with top-quality ingredients throughout. Every plate feels thoughtfully prepared and full of flavour. The drinks are equally spot-on, with a large range to choose from offering exceptional quality and value. The staff couldn’t be friendlier, genuinely welcoming, attentive, and clearly proud of what they do. The whole atmosphere just makes you feel instanly at home, almost as though you are visiting good friends who run the place. It’s beautifully decorated too —with a calm, stylish, and relaxed vibe, it's the kind of place you can settle into for hours without realising how much time has passed. It’s also dog-friendly, with treats, blankets and pup cup options which just adds to the welcoming feel. This is an absolute gem of a find and one that I couldn't recommend highly enough.

So lovely to see this gorgeous new independent cafe! Absolutely fantastic food that is very child and dog friendly.. A great place to relax and spend time whether you’re in for the delicious coffees and sweet treats or in for some classic country or try some kiwi cuisine (highly recommend the L&P)

Stopped here today on our way home as we needed a short break and had seen it had been rebranded since we had last driven by. New people are running it and it has a new name, menu and decor. Really delighted by how good it was. The waitress was great, the food was excellent and the interior was spotless and well designed. I don’t think I have ever had a breakfast as good as this one. The poached eggs were to die for (little balls of golden yolk!!) and the black pudding and bacon were delicious. Knowing we can stop here again in future as we go along the A40 will make the journey worthwhile. I hope this new venture is a success as it deserves to be.

A wonderful new cafe with the best coffee - always a safe bet with a Kiwi batista! We had some hot food which was tasty, fresh, and well-presented. The cabinet food included an attractive selection of cakes, tarts, and pastries - our group enjoyed a selection and were not disappointed. I was very happy to find some much-missed Kiwi delicacies including L&P and Whittakker's chocolate... a must try. Service was very welcoming, attentive and our orders were brought out in good time. Seating and decor felt really homely and comfortable. There were even some books for the kids. We'll be back for sure.

Lovely food, staff, and drinks. The cacao was delicious. They have a wonderful range of gluten free and vegan options, and lots of food that tastes good and feels very wholesome/organic. They have a range of dairy free milks, such as almond milk, which I think tastes the best in coffees! The staff were all incredibly helpful & friendly on both the Saturday and the Sunday that I was in, even though it was a bank holiday and so they were absolutely rammed. Really commendable service

Yet another 'Oh my! They've hit the bar!' in terms of achieving a five star review. Sometimes I think I'm really mean but, having had a thunk, I realise that they've not quite reached the level of my all time favourite, Slō. It's still a bit of a mystery to me why baristas appear to be some of the nicest peeps on the planet. The staff at Woodruffs were great. Not only did they not spit on me but they welcomed me in and put up with my northern-ness. Nice coffee ☕️, nice swirly (thank you, young man. I got the impression you don't offer a swirly with every brew). I'm still too fat and not suffering hypoglycaemia enough to eat the cakes on offer, but they were very tempting! Need refreshments in Stroud. Get on down to Woodruffs!

Great ambiance! Cosy cafe with lovely people who are welcoming and accommodating. Overlooking the high street. Has got a family room and more seating for kids upstairs. Wide range of menu options for vegans and vegetarians. The sweetcorn frittata was good along with the monkey cake. Bit expensive but not everything.

This has always been a lovely cafe with great service and wholesome food, I was sadly disappointed by this visit! I ordered a cacao and lions mane hot chocolate which was served in the smallest flat white cup with a £5 price tag! my daughter had the same but iced which was in a tall glass when my husband complained to the guy his response was tough it’s an expensive product! Not great customer service..and also no explanation to the size difference. my husband had a warm milkshake not iced as described! And we had the worst 3 cheese and onion pasties I’ve tasted, I’ve been coming to this cafe for 25 years but sadly will never return…feel like it’s lost what it used to be..

Disappointed with visit today. On previous visits the service was excellent and the portions larg. Although it was busy today our food took over 35 minutes to arrive. In the end I had to chase It up. It was also a smaller portion than the other times we have been there. It consisted of one small portion of sourdough and although the spinach and mushrooms were plentiful there was only one very small cherry tomato.

This is a lovely little hipster place with very friendly staff, generous food probs at reasonable prices. The menu is not huge, but both dishes we had were worth the restricted choice.

Cosy and original. This little place has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and a delectable selection of tasty baked treats to go with your coffee. Came here for a lazy Sunday afternoon coffee and chat with a friend. We each had an iced coffee, though I opted for the decaf mocha version - a nice little cocoa twist on the regular - 35p extra for decaf or almond milk (and other extras or alternatives I wasn't paying too much attention to). Tasted great and the serving size was decent with not too much ice. We also each had a millionaire shortbread - it was so decadent and perfectly made. The chocolate topping was solid but not too hard to break easily enough with a fork, the same goes for the shortbread - baked to perfection. And the lovely gooey caramel in the middle was also just right. There are a number of little tables inside with wooden and metal framed chairs, but also a cushioned bench along the one wall, there's also seating at a counter along the window for solo diners. The restaurant is a little below street level, but a ramp from the entrance looks like it could be wheelchair friendly.

I was disappointed a bit with using this popular cafe, bisto. The staff were helpful, and cheerful but the bacon sandwich delivered the bread on the drier side, no butter or spread, the bacon cooked and then microwaved too much came in the sandwich very dry and way overcooked. I had a banoffi ice-cream milk shake, served in warm glass and just syrup and dried banana sprinkled on the cream and contents......no fresh banana, it's like everything is pre cooked and done on the cheapest basis to maximise profits...a shame for sure......
Brian F — Google review
We came to Brew & Bake for brunch on a sunny Sunday morning, all the windows were open and it was just lovely. It was full but not over crowded as they had removed the chairs from the middle table. There was a short wait for the table which was thoroughly sanitised before we sat down. The menu had lots of great breakfast options including a full English, eggs benedict with salmon and my choice: bacon, avocado and poached eggs on sourdough toast, with a side order of halloumi. They were quite busy, we had some coffees which came out first and were finished just before the food came out. Everything was cooked really well - nice gooey eggs! Very flavoursome and an ample amount. The bacon was cooked perfectly too - all plates went back clean. The staff were very friendly, checking if we were ok, needed water or sauces. Everywhere was very clean and comfy. I'd recommend and certainly go back.

The Masons Arms is a charming rustic pub located in the serene Cotswolds village of South Leigh. It offers a cozy atmosphere with outside seating, serving delicious dishes made from local produce. The pub also provides simple yet comfortable rooms with complimentary WiFi, making it an ideal spot for a countryside getaway. Visitors can enjoy the dog-friendly environment and outdoor space while savoring delectable meals prepared by friendly staff.
We had a fantastic three-night stay at Masons Arms! Our room was on the smaller side, but it was cozy and comfortable, making for a really pleasant stay. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, ensuring we felt right at home. The restaurant was a highlight—we had all our meals there, and everything was top-notch. The food was absolutely delicious, and we’d highly recommend dining here. The location is lovely too, set in a quiet, picturesque village in the heart of the Cotswolds, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The only small downsides were the kitchen fan, which sometimes sent cooking smells towards our windows, and a slightly sluggish faucet in the bathroom. But honestly, these were minor issues and didn’t take away from the overall experience. If you’re visiting the area, Masons Arms is definitely worth considering for both accommodation and dining!

On first appearance, a lovely pub with lots of charm. Unfortunately our visit wasn’t the greatest, we were ignored 3 times upon arrival by an older gentleman, with grey hair, who seemed to be the owner and left standing awkwardly in the middle of the bar. We were eventually seated by another member of the waitressing team, and after an unacceptably long time, a drinks and food order was taken. There was no crackling left, which was slightly disappointing as there was still pork on the menu. Food arrived quickly, and was hot and tasty. Although the portions of meat could be slightly larger, 2 medium slices per person seems a bit stingy. Gravy was excellent, although when we asked for more we had to empty the jug and return it to be refilled. Seems a bit strange, and seems we almost had to prove we were going to eat it all! The waitress did seem quite awkward about this though so presume the kitchen mandates it! Food was good, although we didn’t like the cauliflower cheese, could be personal preference but tasted like a strong, overpowering cheese had been used in the sauce. The reason for the low score is the poor service, only one waitress seemed to actually be trying, the tall, brunette. Everyone else either meandered around, or wasn’t there at all. We had no check back and a table arrived but the table they requested wasn’t ready, they had to hover awkwardly for 15 minutes or so next to us. Despite the previous table having been gone for some time. The bill arrived promptly, but having been walked past several times without any acknowledgment for payment, we eventually went to the bar and then we were instructed that we must move to the (portable) pay machine! Overall, good food, terrible service from most staff!

We popped in here for lunch on a Tuesday in November. We'd been meaning to go for quite a while but just hadn't got round to it. We hadn't booked but didn't have a problem getting a table. This is a lovely village pub, which hasn't long changed hands. Obviously we can't comment on what it was like, but we very much enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning. The menu wasn't huge (a good thing in my opinion) and definitely had something for everyone. Based on what we had, (a shared Aranchini starter, chilli and sausages and mash) the standard was very good indeed. Portion sizing was generous and the food itself was very tasty. I always worry about ordering Chilli in a pub. So often then can be quite bland. Not so here, it was absolutely delicious. We were so full desert didn't get a look in! Thank you to all the team who looked after us. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. So if you are looking for somewhere that does excellent quality pub food, look no further. Based on our experience, the new owners will do well.

What an amazing find! This hotel captures everything you hope for when visiting the Cotswolds. While the rooms are on the smaller side—as expected in a charming, older building—they're thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. The location is fairly central, making it a convenient base for exploring the area, and the Wi-Fi worked well throughout our stay. But the real standout here is the restaurant. The food is absolutely superb—think fine dining quality in a cozy, beautifully set space, and at a much more accessible price. While they do offer classic English pub-style options, the menu truly shines with elevated dishes you’d expect from a top-tier dining experience. Don’t miss it!

This is a very busy, cafe just off Cheltenham high street. It's been in the same location for years and is alwaysbusy so its doing something right! The service was amazing. The experienced staff make sure you are well looked after. We went for brunch 😋. It did not disappoint. The eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly. I gave the atmosphere a 4 only because it was way too many tables squished into this cafe. You can barely move in and out of your table. It's definitely not wheelchair friendly. This cafe is also extremely loud so not a good environment for anyone who is sensitive to noise. We visited on a Saturday morning, so this may have been why it was over crowded. Next time I'll try it mid week, but will go back and highly recommend it!

Great spot, family friendly, lovely crowd of all kinds of people: kids, couples, grandparents, cyclists, friends. We sat in the "main" bit, was very busy on a Sat at 2pm. There are outside tables, another marquee-type area, nice toilets, activities for kids, great service. The cake selection was impressive. I had chips, egg and ham and was deliciously fresh. Had a gluten- and dairy free brownie too which was rather dry and crumbly, but a lot of those things alike. All these topped with a soft drink cost me just a few pence over £20. There are gluten-free, vegan, and gluten&dairy-free desserts available. They're single packed to avoid cross contamination. Very thoughtful. The waiting time was a bit long, but the place was busy.

Visited The Shed near Charlbury yesterday for a Father's Day breakfast with my dad, and despite it being incredibly busy — with long queues due to the card machine having a moment — the staff handled it all brilliantly. They were polite, calm, and genuinely apologetic, which really made a difference. The atmosphere was lovely, and once our breakfast arrived, it was absolutely worth the wait. Generous portions, beautifully cooked, and served with a smile. You can tell the team really care, even under pressure.

We arrived at 2 minutes before 2 and they accepted our order, but I think they were pretty strict on the lunch menu not being available after 2. The staff were happy to help us meet the deadline, and were courteous afterwards. The food was good, nothing fancy with decent servings at a fair price. Order at the till and food is brought to your table. We sat 'outside'. Roof with 1 wall a bar. 2 other sides clear plastic walls, one side open. The birds certainly knew it well, up to having dust baths in the gravel floor.

The Den is a popular vegetarian restaurant located in Bourton on the Water, known for its delicious meat-free options. It offers a variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free snacks and drinks, including coffee with soy and almond milk. Voted as the best place for lunch in the Cotswolds by Gloucestershire Live, it's a great spot to enjoy a satisfying meal.
Always lovely to pop in. The team are so friendly and welcoming, the food is always delicious and the hot chocolate is exceptional! They cater to all dietary requirements and were able to craft me up a delicious meal in minutes. Been several times before and will definitely be back!

This is a wonderful cafe/small restaurant. I'll be breaking it down to different topics. The food is very filling and delicious. I ordered the ham & cheese baguette with the chocolate milkshake. The ham and cheese baguette's bread was perfectly baked and relatively crispy. The cheese is delicious. The ham, chefs kiss. Don't even get me started with the milkshake. The milkshake is perfectly sweet, good portion size, and the texture is really creamy and rich. The people there were so nice and kind. They serve the customers with smiles on their face which makes me feel so much better. The food arrived really quickly and was delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful, a small place but it is a warm and cozy place. Beautiful decorations. Conclusion, definitely recommend. I would recommend this if you are coming to Bourton-on-the-water and wanting a snack or meal.

Very friendly efficient staff, service was super fast and food fresh and tasty. Had a Sausage, Bacon and Egg Bap. Sausages and Bacon were lovely and the egg cooked perfectly. Very nice Latte Coffee with smoth and rich flavour. Three small tables outside tucked away from the crowds which is nice.

Wanted vegan option and this cafe had a good selection more than anyone else with vegan cheese. I was very impressed and it was so tasty and good value, lovely freshly made and baguettes were a good size very filling.

Another gluten free, vegan and dog friendly gem in the beautiful Cotswolds. Came for a gluten free, vegan bagel with vegan-halloumi, avocado and chilli jam…. It was AMAZING, and all the staff were super helpful and the service was great. Went back a couple of hours later for another!!!!! Highly recommended

I was quite excited after reading the reviews but it was quite mediocre experience. We ordered a vegan baguette and a pastry. The brownie was nice and the only highlight. The area has couple of other better food options.

I was amazed by the enormous variety they have in their menu even though it’s such a small place. Everything’s prepared freshly. I loved how they had many healthy options, sugar free, vegan, lactose free… etc etc. Great work guys. 👏🏻

I was on a group bus tour from London and because we were only given limited time to spend time at Bourton-on-the-Water, I decided to have a take-out for lunch. I chose The Den and had their Pesto chicken & cheese toasted baguette- it was very very good! The combination of melted cheese, chicken and pesto was delicious. I also could not resist trying their Bourbon brownie. And it was one of the best brownies I’ve ever had!! Crunch on the outside and fudgy on the inside!! Very warm and welcoming staff too :)

The staff was so sweet. I really enjoyed our chat. I had a tuna melt and it was perfectly grilled. My company had the sandwich with 'pickles'. I guess it was like a chutney. I tried it and loved it, too. Would definitely recommend if you enjoy a great atmosphere in a beautiful village and want to support the local businesses. I hope I can go back soon!

What a great little place! We stopped here for a cuppa and a bite to eat whilst out on gallery deliveries in the area. There is parking in the square right outside and it’s very easy to find. The space has a log burner and plenty of tables and chairs. There are also books to read and jigsaws too :) They provide tea and coffee with cake or biscuits. Also toast with butter and jam or alternatively cuppa soups and mug shots. All payment is by donation and there is a suggested tariff, but the atmosphere is very warm and friendly and everybody is very chatty. Thank you everybody, keep up the good work :)

Stopped here whilst out on a bike ride, was very friendly and helpful. Coffee was great and had a lovely selection of cakes too! I glanced up at the menu on a board above me and it looked superb with a vast array of different foods from breakfast menu's to lunches. Definitely worth a future visit!

What a wonderful cafe! Set in a gorgeous location the black cat offers tasty food and drink in a warm, relaxed setting. The staff are always cheery and helpful and keen to provide a good service. They do a great chai latte, and lots of coffees/teas and soft drinks to suit everyone. Also the cake selection is amazing! There is a wide variety of menu choices. The cafe is welcoming and comfortable, with great books that you can take for a donation, and the soft background music is a welcome accompaniment. It’s clean and tidy with lovely decor and even tables outside. I’ve met some really nice people in the cafe on my visits, and think it’s a great spot to drop by for coffee and cake with friends, or treat yourself to a nice lunch. If you haven’t tried it yet ~ do. It’s a real find.

La Reine is a delightful find with super fresh and delicious food, friendly staff, and a nice relaxing decor. The wide range of homemade food is unreal, including amazing homemade cakes. The cooked breakfast is perfectly delicious and graciously adapted. The Earl Grey tea is fragrant and delicate, complementing the divinely light Victoria Sandwich. The breakfast roll with bacon and sausage patty on a warm brioche bun is fabulously fresh and delicious. It offers excellent but slightly expensive coffee.
Situated near the Christmas shop in Bourton on the Water. A lovely cafe. The very best hot chocolate, so smooth and delicious. We had BLT baguettes they were very good. Service was quick. A great place to stop for lunch or just a coffee and a cake.

We visited La Reine during a long weekend stay at Bourton on the water and glad we did! We managed to get seating in the back garden section which was lovely and quiet as it was early in the day- very helpful with our dog that was being very reactive due to being in a new area. I had a lovely hot chocolate and we each had a full English breakfast. Lovely sausage pattie made a nice change from normal sausages. I loved the mushrooms- so many places show the mushrooms no love at all and these were really nicely seasoned. Nice fresh toast and plenty of butter. Skipped the black pudding (sorry!). Nice jammy eggs, baked beans and yummy bacon. Everything you look for in a cooked breakfast. Managed to grab some freshly made bakes goods on the way out - mine was a plum and meringue tart, the other half had a Bakewell. Both delicious! Thanks for having us, we hope to be back again.

We had a bad experience with service here. Exceptionally rude staff, which is sad as food looked good but we never got to eat. We felt unwelcomed and left. whereas other places around here were nice. I would avoid this cafe and go anywhere else.
Shruti C — Google review
First, I want to share an incident that happened to me here. I ordered brunch, and the food wasn't fresh. The employee was bald and wore glasses. I politely asked the employee to replace it, and the employee responded in a very sarcastic and disrespectful manner, saying they wouldn't replace it. It looked like a cute cafe in a tourist area, but the staff were extremely disrespectful and sarcastic. It was a level of disrespect I hadn't seen before in England. And the employee behaved like this towards everyone. I definitely do not recommend this place.

Excellent cafe with a rather quirky atmosphere. Stopped here for lunch a group of four of us. We managed to grab on of the last tables. note at busy times you only be seated if your are eating, no drinks only orders. We ordered a mixture of sandwiches, paninni's, and drinks. all came quickly, and were well filled and delicious. Service was excellent. Was pleasantly surprised when waitress came over and apologized for accidentally overcharging us and refunded it. not the cheapest but baring in mind the location in a busy tourist area we were happy with the cost.

Lynwood & Co Burford is a charming café with a great atmosphere and top-notch coffee. The baristas are friendly and skilled, serving up delicious cappuccinos and flat whites. Called for breakfast weekday morning, found a free table no problem. Couldn't find a full English breakfast on the menu so ordered scrambled eggs on toast and side of mushrooms and a side of bacon, which was good. Coffee was a little too bitter for me. None of the tables were even wiped, let alone sanitised, between customers. Even the table the dog was seated at eating it's dog food from the table wasn't sanitised. One vacated table next to us wasn't even cleared the whole time that we were there. The loaves of bread on the bottom shelf of the bread rack at the front door had a good going over by various passing pooches. Being a dog owner myself I am all for dog friendly establishments, but this is ridiculous.

I just wanted a bacon, mushroom and tomato sandwich for my breakfast. So I asked if that was possible. The guy said it was, so that was great. Although it was £13, it was freshly made using good quality ingredients and it was well filled - plenty of lovely bacon amd mushrooms. Also buttered, which was great great. The cherry tomatoes had been roasted and they tasted amazing with the bacon. It was a lovely breakfast and totally enjoyed sitting outside with a view over the Cotswolds in the distance.

The sausages are homemade and the best I've ever tasted. My husband enjoyed the butchers breakfast with highlights including homemade hash browns and black pudding.

Tucked away in the charming Coxs Meadow of Cheltenham, The Meadow Café is a delightful spot that embodies community spirit and sustainability. This cozy café welcomes both locals and visitors alike, especially those with furry friends, making it an ideal retreat for dog owners and nature enthusiasts. Whether you're sipping on a hot drink or indulging in a scrumptious bacon sarnie, the inviting atmosphere enhances your experience.
What a lovely spot, delicious coffee tasty treats, dog friendly & seating to follow the sunshine. We sat at the back, overlooking the meadow & with the first warmth of spring sunshine it was the perfect spot after a walk in the park. The cakes looked so scrumptious, the bacon sandwiches were being enjoyed by others, but the best thing was the coffee…. that the cafe was dog friendly & the staff were super friendly. We will visit again when we are next in Cheltenham. Thank you!

Decent spot for a quick bite or a coffee, especially if you’re already in the area. The setting is pleasant and peaceful, with some nice outdoor seating when the weather’s good. Service was friendly but quite slow, and the food was fine. Could use a bit more variety on the menu too.

Cute little shop, but it’s always busy. I have been in the mornings on weekends and it’s hard to get a table so I have always had to do takeaway. I have tried a few of their bagel sandwiches. My personal favourites include the Brick Lane: good amount of smoked salmon and the dill is fresh which is delicious, I also like the Club: classic chicken and bacon and tomato and lettuce but still delicious. Their lattes are also good, but i prefer their food over their drinks. They were offering fresh smoothies one time and that was nice. I would continue to come back.

I’ve been coming to this little gem for years, and it continues to impress me every single day. The staff are genuinely lovely — warm, welcoming, and attentive. Even though they see me almost daily, their service never falters. There’s no complacency here; they take pride in what they do, and it shows. The coffee is always excellent, and the food is consistently spot-on. While the menu is simple, it’s clear that everything is done with care and intention. They know their strengths, and they stick to them — delivering quality time after time. You also have to consider the limited space they’re working with, and for that, the range and thoughtfulness of the menu is really impressive. There’s something for everyone, and it’s always fresh and satisfying. They truly deliver on all fronts — great coffee, great food, lovely people. It’s the best part of my day, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. ❤️

Great little cafe for relaxing next to Coxes Meadow. Dog friendly (with treats). Their bagels, cakes & coffee all tick the boxes for a post walk chat on a sunny day!

Had the most delicious spicy deli bagel - v tasty and filling. Tea in a pot, and was advised to ‘let it brew’ as it was organic and needed not to be rushed. WOW! the best cuppa I think I’ve ever had in a cafe! Really friendly and efficient service. I sat outside - a green oasis just a few mins walk to the High St or Promenade and with on street parking immediately outside. I went in the afternoon but they also open early for those who need to grab a coffee/breakfast/lunch to go on the way to work.

One of my favourite coffee spots in Cheltenham where I can take my dog & often meet a great group of other dog loving people . A great spot next to cox meadow so you can "walk &talk "or " sit n sip !

We love this local cafe, a fantastic local meeting spot with lots of outdoor seating that make it even more perfect in good weather. Coffee is consistently good, there is an excellent range of cakes & bagels and IMHO they do the best bacon sandwich in Cheltenham. My daughter took a tumble on her bike outside yesterday and they gave her two plasters which was so kind - so I just wanted to pass on my thanks for this kind gesture. X

Great Bath road breakfast & brunch venue. 2025 update: popped in again for lunch and still a great choice. They only had two smoothies on the menu, but the strawberry & banana one is really good. And I highly recommend considering the super food salad. I'll be back again.

Genuinely one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Great service too.

It’s a nice place for breakfast, with both sweet and salty options, we tried the egg royale and the traditional breakfast and the only things I can say is that salt was missing and that the bread was already spread with butter, which made everything a bit too sweet, but on the overall it was ok.

Having arrived at our Airbnb late, we wanted something tasty and close by. Thankfully they were still open and are dog friendly. Lunch was lovely and they don’t do small portions so be aware Coffee was lovely and I will be taking an early morning stroll for my daily fix.

Best breakfast/food and coffee in Cheltenham. Their coffee is far superior in quality to other coffee shops, and they actually know how to make it properly! I know as I have tried them all! Food is always great, and love their amazing breakfast too. Plus super friendly staff in Steph and Miles.

Popped in for lunch and had the butternut squash pappardelle which was awesome. Would usually come in for a coffee but the beer was much appreciated. Steph was cheerful as always. Finished with a millionaire shortbread, which is hand made by Steph along with the other delicious cakes. Can’t recommend enough. :-)

It's finally happened! After multiple reviews on Gloucestershire's coffee ☕️shops, we have one that equals Slō in the excellence of the final product. Joint winners 🏆 of best place for recaffeintion! Mostly Brazilian 🇧🇷 blend dancing 🕺💃 a tango on very grateful, smiley 😋 taste buds. There seems to be a theme running 🏃‍♂️ through the independently owned coffee shops of the area. The proprietors all appear to be diamond 💎 geezers and geezeressers, Havanas peeps definitely fall into this category. Next time ⏲️ you think you deserve a special treat, get on down to Havanas and spoil yourself!

Came whilst we were visiting friends in Cheltenham. We got some beautiful ice coffees to take away and they were delicious! Staff very efficient and friendly and service was quick. Bonus that they let dogs in as well. Although we didn’t eat here I wish we had as the food looked lovely!

I love this place. Havs is my favourite and regular cafe in the local area. I can be sure to get vegan food (Steven the Vegan breakfast cigar; vegan porridge; mezze bowl; cake by day, and sharing board and cocktails in the evening). I can always get a decent oat flat white or a can of Cawstons. But it's the friendly atmosphere and chance to sit in the windows and watch the world go by that I love. The staff make this place - every one of them is lovely.

Great café serving the most amazing cuban sandwiches which just hit The breakfast cigars are also so good and they serve these teeny tiny cakes which are the perfect thing to just add on because why not! The coffee was really good too I had a cortado which comes in an espresso cup which is how you are supposed to serve them!! Had a great time overall
