Great little mexican place. Had a burrito, was fairly priced. Good range of fresh ingredients. Seating was clean and welcoming. Staff were knowledgeable. Would definitely go again for another Burrito 👍

In Cheltenham for the day. A Google search revealed Paparrito's which got good reviews so I thought I'd give it ago. I wasn't disappointed. The service was swift and friendly and the buritto amazing. Would happily go back the next time I am in the town.

The larger woman with glasses was very rude to me today and seemed to be having a bad day. Please don’t take it out on us customers and delivery drivers. Took a couple minutes to be served also as she was just gossiping with her colleague so didn’t even realise I was waiting in the store. Won’t be coming back.

An excellent establishment for those who need an inexpensive but hearty snack. I have been here twice and I can assure you that this cafe is worth your attention. Delicious food, quick cooking and the choice of filling is dependent on you. Recommendable! I would come back here again.

Got a takeaway haddock and chips with curry sauce. Haddock was good size tasty and had crispy batte , good chips and tasty warm curry sauce. Comes with free tartare sauce which was also good. Quick and friendly service (Note the crushed peas in the photo were homemade)

Absolutely fantastic service, some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. I don’t eat fish but it was fantastic. We arrived after they had shut and they still served us and gave it to us on the house. 100% would recommend, lovely people, lovely food, amazing atmosphere!

I did a click and collect order yesterday having not visited before - I was greeted by name, and a smile, and received prompt service. The food itself was lovely, good portions sizes, and complimentary tartar sauce. The various garnishes were also a great touch! I'll definitely be back :)

Travelling on the road for work and gigs, you can't beat a good fish and chips, especially when it's cold out there. Cheltenham and Gloucester have a fair number of chippies but when out that way, this is the one I generally return to. More of a traditional chippy with pickled onion too, unpretentious with friendly staff, not over done but still crispy battered cod and fluffy chips which are never oily. Bonus, especially for the Cheltenham area is parking is free from 6.30pm in nearby car park or street and had a small eating-in area.

This place was great! Came recommended by a coworker and I'm glad I went. Was promptly greeted by friendly staff and the food was ready in minutes. Crispy, delicious fish and thick chips. They even asked if I wanted malt vinegar, which I happily accepted. They had a few tables in the back so I ate there. Highly recommend stopping by!

The best pasties and sausage rolls I have ever tasted. Staff are very nice and efficient, don't worry if there's a queue, it will move quite quickly unlike some others in the area. The prices looked about the best in town too.

This was the first stop on a “mystery picnic” and the staff were incredibly friendly. We were able to pick any baguette we wanted, and they adapted one to be dairy free as I have an intolerance. The baguettes were delicious and all the ingredients clearly very fresh - we will be back next time we’re in the Cotswolds.

This place is absolutely the place you’d want to eat food from, for lunch! We visited during a trip to the Cotswolds back in August 2023 and this totally fit the bill for what we were looking for! The food is exceptional, fresh and super tasty! We’d recommend to anyone in Stow on the Wold!! In my opinion, this is the best Japanese restaurant in town! The food is excellent, prices are decent and the service is always friendly, quick and easy-going when i want to amend a dish. It's not the cosiest atmosphere as it's a bit like a canteen style, but it's always friendly and honest. Always take my guests there!

Not only the best Japanese restaurant in the area but in my opinion, one of the best restaurant in the area. Current personal circumstances and a passion for food allowed us to discover restaurants in and around Cheltenham. There are a lot of fantastic places, but most of the time, they come with a huge price tag. The beauty of Wakame is that you get amazing food, great service and a drink without breaking the bank. Their egg fried rice is absolutely delicious( I'm obsessed 🍚🤤), sashimi fresh, and their miso paste homemade. When dining at Wakame you genuinely feel like home. The place is warm, clean and comfy. People are so friendly and accommodating. We love coming back there and are looking forward to the next visit. Thank you Wakame, it's been a pleasure 🙏

There is a very aggressive woman who works here (possibly runs it?). Without her, the place might be alright. But there’s a cliquey atmosphere as though you’re entering their territory, they’re rude most of the time and act like they’re doing you a favour, and the fish is small, usually cold, and a bit chewy. It’s a bit strange really — you’re only going to buy some fish and chips, after all. Check the opening hours — they’re wrong on here. And doublecheck your order when you get it — that will likely also be wrong.

Average fish and chips. Fish was quite chewy/rubbery but batter was good. Service was very good and quick and the place was very busy. I had the medium cod and chips and thought it would be too much but fish wise there wasn’t actually much fish in all the batter but there were plenty of chips. Overall a good experience in the shop but not the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. £8.30 for medium cod and chips.

This is a really nice good old fashion (but updated) fish and chip shop. We were impressed with the batter on the fish and the chunky chips were cooked really nicely too. This chip shop is a bit pricey though, probably the most expensive I've ever been in, but the food was nice.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Great Food, But Packing Mistakes Let It Down We’ve been loyal customers of The Friar Tuck Shop Bar for the past two years, and I have to say, the quality of their fish and chips is absolutely spot on. The chips are always perfectly cooked, and the fish is fresh, crispy, and just right. It’s genuinely one of the best chippies around! However, it’s with a heavy heart that I have to leave a four-star review due to a few recent hiccups with the packing of our Deliveroo orders. About a month ago, we placed an order for the family, but a couple of sausages for my kids were missing. We called up, and one of the staff members—who had just finished her shift—very kindly offered to bring the sausages to us. That gesture was genuinely appreciated. Then, just last week, while I was in the birthing ward with my wife (who was in labour), we ordered one fish and chips and one sausage and chips for the kids. What arrived was two fish and chips. As you can imagine, in the middle of all the chaos, we just told the kids to get on with it, and an hour later, our newborn baby was here. Mistakes happen, and we took it on the chin. But then tonight, we were missing a chicken pie. We called up, and this time, we were asked if we could come and collect it ourselves. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option for us. They apologised, but it’s now becoming a bit of a pattern, and I have to admit it’s starting to feel a bit unreliable. I understand they may be incredibly busy and rushing to get orders out on time, but it’s starting to show in the packing mistakes. It’s a real shame because the food is genuinely fantastic, and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. I’d still recommend The Friar Tuck Shop Bar, but if you’re ordering for delivery, I’d suggest either going in person or double-checking the order before you leave. The food is worth it, but the packing could definitely use a bit more attention, especially during busy periods. Hopefully, they can iron out these issues because we’ve always loved ordering from here.

We were staying one night in Stow for tourism and I’m so glad we went there rather than an expensive pub. The cod was the best I’ve ever had, my friend and I were blown away. There’s no sitting inside but two benches on the outside which was perfect. Best fish and chips of my life, will be thinking about it for a long time!

My go to for fish and chips. When dining in, you can expect the fish to be freshly cooked, to a more than adequate size with a good quantity of chips. They also serve the usual variety of foods including kebabs, pies and sausages. Oh, and there are customer toilet facilities. Update, might be a change of ownership, but the seniors cod, chips, mushy peas and a hot drink was excellent as always. An other table had 4 different dishes, all very large and looked really good. Recommended!

Bought fish and chips recently paying by card. The guy serving, offered me the card machine without first letting me know the price. I asked, he said £16.50 and I paid. Got home to find a bank notification on my phone for £17.50! I’d love to think this was a mistake but really not sure. This chip shop has lost the friendliness and quality of Monica’s previous owners. Will not be going back and would advise to always ask for a receipt. I didn’t!

I asked if the food.had been cooked from fresh as the pies looked not as good as I would have e hoped. I was told they were. I can now confirm I've been lied to. I’ve been a loyal customer of Charlie’s Chips for many years and always considered it the best in Cheltenham for chips and curry sauce. Unfortunately, both have recently changed, and the quality has dropped significantly—they were average at best. A real shame, and sadly, I won’t be returning.

Bought Fish & Chips here last night, home within 2 minutes and the fish was horribly dry and chewy and the chips were dry, it’s like they’d been sitting there for ages and were served to us because they couldn’t be bothered to cook fresh. £24 wasted and we won’t come back.

Without out any doubt, the BEST Takeaway in Cheltenham. Their homemade fish cakes are amazing, and for gravy lover's like me, their gravy is awesome 👌. Their chips are dam good too 😋 👌

We’ve been loyal customers of Charlie’s for years but don’t often treat ourselves so thought we’d go and get two steak pies and chips, got there at 7pm to be told not steak pies so opted for chicken instead, how disappointed we were, the top of the pies were rock hard and the chips looked and tasted like they’d been reheated! Just wished we’d saved our money and gone somewhere where they appreciate the custom 😩

Staff flustered, portion sizes small. My fish was mostly batter. Wasn’t asked if I wanted salt and vinegar on anything, didn’t think to ask. As we were on holiday we didn’t have any with us and the kids were hungry, so couldn’t go back. We ordered a large and regular chips and this didn’t feed 4 of us.

We were very impressed with this take away. We had a large group and ordered a variety of different things - such as: fish, chips, sausages, chicken nuggets, burgers. All of it tasted amazing! The potions are a bit small compare to other fish & chip shops, but otherwise everything was very good. The cod was one of the best I have had. It was moist, but not greasy or wet. The batter was nice and crispy. There was a large queue outside, but it moved pretty quickly. We would definitely go back and would recommend it to others.

If you near only open Thursday, Friday and sat, be prepared to wait it's very popular, Fish £8 but it's wonderful and like a small shark in size.

Location near post office on a quiet road. A Small blue sign pokes out as your driving down road but you noticed the post office first. Very disappointing 😞 Im not trying to be harsh, just being honest. Sorry lads... The pizza was tasteless and the base/cheese felt rubbery. The base somehow felt both overcooked and undercooked at the same time. The garlic bread was burned around the edges. Definitely not worth the price. For 1/5 of the price I could've gotten something much nicer from Tesco. On the plus side, the fries were very nice and they gave me a pretty big portion. They went really well with the garlic dip.

We’ve just had 2 of the tastiest pizzas we’ve ever tasted. The shop was so busy tonight and the pizzas we had were just fantastic. The ingredients were all fresh and tasty and the choices on the menu are very clear. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place if asked.

I got a veggie feast and when I saw it in the box it looked very small. However, what it lacked in quantity it made up with quality ... probably one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! Come on guys be more generous with your sizes. 4/5 for the sizing & price, 6/5 for the topping amount and overall flavour.

Thought we would try the pizzas from locojos on Wednesday, My pizza did say on the menu it had basil in it however I did not expect there to be more basil then pepperoni and underneath the cheese so unable to remove was so over powering could not eat it, the other pizza (meatballs) was again not much better. Would not buy again and definitely not worth 26 pounds!

Average fish and chip shop let down extremely poor service. Staff pleasant but they must be the slowest chip shop in the UK. Waited over 35 minutes to get a single bag of chips. It was bad engough waiting times before but now they are on Just Eat the waiting times are beyond a joke now for anyone walking in to get served as they spend all their time on delivery orders first. Ordered on Uber eats, £18 for large cod and chips, which isn’t bad I suppose, however either the delivery driver was peckish or they ran out of chips as it wasn’t a large and wasn’t worth £18 at all. Fish was nice however the batter was soggy and there was no salt n vinegar.

25 minute wait on a Wednesday night for the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life that wasn’t cooked fresh and was all ready when I walked in however they don’t prioritise what’s ready they just slowly do it in order so someone waited 15 minutes for a small fish. Bag split so the food dropped out but stayed in the packaging. When I got home I wish the food had went on the floor the fish was greasy and tasteless so had to peel all of the cheap chicken nugget batter off the side of the packaging. Amazing falafel and cooked fresh in front of you! The menu is all vegetarian. Staff are very friendly and were knowledgeable when I asked what was vegan - I always go for a vegan falafel wrap. I go there whenever I'm in Cheltenham, it's that good! It is a hidden gem in Cheltenham and more people should go! There is a large seating area and would be suitable for groups but I usually get takeaway.

Decor is sparse but colourful. I liked the carpet bags for sale on the walls. Tables well spaced out rather packed in, which I appreciated. Lady who served us friendly and clearly knew her stuff. Would really recommend Sandwich Box. The food here is delicious, especially the bread. They have a wide selection of fillings, bread, rolls (and loaves if you want!) As well as a small selection of deserts, and good options for vegetarians and you have complete flexibility on how things are prepared They often have a specials board which is delicious too! I'd say that the only downside is that is more towards the expensive end of sandwich shops in Cheltenham, but you do pay for what you get.

We regulary have their delicious bread and it is consistently good. Poached eggs are not the same unless it's on The Sandwich Box sour dough! Don't get me started on their cakes and treats - yummy!

Went back here after nearly 4 years. Still an excellent place to get some freshly made lunch. Great bread, cakes, salads and all sorts of sandwiches. It was always the best place in town and I think it probably still is. It is only let down by the long queues at peak times, no one ever looks like they're in a rush.

Beautiful fresh tasty and healthy food always, served by friendly folk. Always a queue at lunchtime but it moves quickly and is worth it. Sometimes confusing the amount of combinations. I would love more/changing specials and toasted options.

Fresh breads, yummy fillings, including house made chutneys, and delicious extras like scotch eggs. Really enjoyed the salami special on ciabatta with a pork + cranberry scotch eggs. No real seating, but if the weather's nice you could walk across the street and sit in the park behind Town Hall.

Amazing range of bread and pastries to suit every different taste preference, local products and a family business. 5 stars don't seem enough - welldone on all the awards, they'll certainly be more in the future

Here the emphasis is truly on local ingredients and suppliers. Award winning baker produces a range of breads (sourdough Tuesday to Saturday) and a huge choice of salads. We loved the "extras" in shot glasses including seeds and toasted sourdough crumbs. It is a takeaway and you'll need to buy drinks elsewhere. There's a park opposite with a cafe where you can buy drinks

We came here specifically for the Falafel in pitta experience and it was well worth our while :) Friendly staff, quickly served, fresh and yummy. Falafel balls could have been served warmer, yet well recommended if you're a falafel enthusiast as we are.

We had a quick tasty lunch here on Saturday when we went up to Stroud to visit the popular market Falafel Mama is located just down a side street from the main market area. We ordered - Classic Falafel in a pitta - which was six falafel balls, hummus, salads and tahini - also you get a choice of spicy sauce. And a Falafel Salad box which consisted of the same with more salad and no pitta. Falafels were perfect - right amount of outside crunch and a good soft texture inside. We felt the portion size represented good value for money, with many places now charging over £10 for similar lunch fare. Our total came to £17.70. We sat outside, though there was plenty of seats inside (upstairs). Service was quick and only a few minutes after ordering we were tucking in to tasty falafel. There was also a great range of other menu items which were reasonably priced too. If we hadn't had pata de nata from the market earlier we'd have definitely shared some Fries. Worthy of 5 stars, and well worth a visit, thanks folks.

Absolutely exceptional, Surprised how hot the good food was considering I live a little bit further away. Thank you to the staff , chefs, and delivery - impressively fast- yet the quality of the food and presentation didn't lack at all. Very much appreciated. I will definitely be ordering again. Banging balls of crunchy heaven, is the only way you can describe what Falafel Mama are kicking out. What a lunch two falafel pitta lunches one half, one whole with all the trimmings and a tea for 16 quid. The must unctuously fresh thing you're ever likely you burry your face in. The staff are so wonderful, how they manage to keep the pyramids of freshly grated cabbage and cucumber stacked that high I'll never know. The building is super cool and offers a birds eye view of some of Strouds cultural gems. The only disappointment is your last mouthful and I genuinely didn't want it to end.

Fresh and delicious food served here. I ordered through the website and picked it up 10 minutes later, all ready to go. Albeit on a quiet Friday afternoon. A real asset to the Stroud food scene!

Best falafels i have ever tasted in my life. Absolute must have when you go to stroud. I have come to falafel mama many times and have never been disappointed. Very quick wait time and great atmosphere inside, staff are always very friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a healthy, fresh, delicious meal.

Amazing food. I definately recommend falafel in half pitta as its my go to. The sweet potato chips are also amazing. They've recently been selling homemade lemonade which is lovely.

Very traditional style English cafe, with menu and staff to match. Cheap as chips which is hard to do in this day and age! The old school milkshake maker was what did it for me.

Always come in here if I’m in town with my mother, good food, nice portions, most staff friendly, the odd one doesn’t seem to want to be there, some of the other customers are loud and disruptive, conversations so loud that I don’t want to hear when eating , far too many tables cramped into a small cafe and seats are fitted to the tables not good for people who can’t sit in, overall will be going back when we’re in town but only for food reasons also could staff give customers a minute to decide from the lovely menu.

Lovely branch of Poppins, reminds me of home! All team putting in shared responsibilities, very accommodating and guided me to a suitable table to charge my phone at! Food was great, exactly what I love about Poppins, consistency! Will return again when in town.

Just a classic greasy spoon, such good food, really friendly staff. Was really busy when we were there, but had quick service, and was very affordable. I would go back.

Everything about this place is exceptional. Their staff are so friendly and welcoming, it is always clean and the food is second to none. I travel around 15 miles each way to get dinner from here as it such a great standard and genuinely the best fish and chips around. The cheesecake is unbelievable too. I can’t recommend this enough! Soggy chips, fish batter was soggy and the cod inside was very dry. Quite disappointed and I might as well have gone hungry and thrown the £20 I spent in the bin which is where most of the food ended up. How can simple fish and chips be cooked so badly?

Most of the time it’s lovely. Chips usually lush. But sometimes like tonight. The chips are undercooked. Pale and a few harder ones. And everyone felt the same. Maybe the time of year? Won’t stop us coming back but it’s hit and miss. (Same with fish)

Fantastic food including traditional fish and chips. Online ordering and delivery or collection. I love their southern fried chicken and chicken curry. Incredibly generous portions of chips - my photo shows only a third of the actual amount of chips. Friendly helpful staff. So lucky to have this in our town!

Only gave lower rate for the fish, had cod twice now and both times its been the same size as a sausage, over 8 quid for that, and it was cold and the grease went cold which wasn't nice in my mouth, so my dog had all the batter, chips and chicken are really nice though.

Oh my goodness. Usually order from Bath Road places... never again. What a great meal. Order = easy. Delivery = 20 mins earlier Food = arrived hot!!! Usually have to microwave most deliveries. Driver = great This is my now go to place. De-lic-ous

First time customer. Food delicious, portion size very good. Delivery speedy, salad very fresh. It really deserves 5 stars but the 4 quid delivery charge was really too much. I'll either collect or get delivery from nearer home in future.

Best kebab I’ve had in a long time. I like the way they keep the salad seperate so you can put it on yourself. Shredded lettuce, tomato, cucumber and onions finely sliced, you can tell it’s prepared with love and care. Great prices, portions sizes and delivery on time too. Will definitely be my new Turkish kebab shop from now on. 5/5 no complaints at all. Very nice!

Passing through while doing the Airbnb thing. Discovered a small little gem, the chefs did a great job at fulfilling or order and ensuring all our needs were met. The food itself was really tasty and flavorful. Definitely a place to do the next time paying through.

I ordered fish and chips and one chips. Waited 15 minutes for them to cook it. Was handed my order over in a bag and when I drove home, there was no fish

Good takeaway place. Food was fresh, customer service was excellent, and waiting time was short. Portion sizes are generous. The taste was good, better than some of the places in Cheltenham but still a bit away from a few of the best ones. Overall a good experience which you won't regret. I can highly recommend it.

Lovely and huge portion of Fish and Chips. The large chips is sufficient for 2 adults and they are very tasty as well. The piece of Cod I had was huge. The fish wasn't dry and the batter was very crispy. My partner had a chicken burger and he was expecting it to be a chicken fillet but it was an actual burger, not overly disappointed as it was still really nice.

Really tasty chips. Excellent, friendly service. Good portions. Was fast to get our chips this evening despite being a Friday night. Only downside is they don't take card.

Very helpful, phoned just before closing as I thought I might be a minute or two late and explained that I’m a wheelchair user and asked if he could bring food out to car for me. Wasn’t a problem. I've been here quiet a few times since the place was re named and it seems pretty good. The food is nice and the staff are all friendly. It is a pretty big shop and always clean and tidy (OK, you'd expect that from any fast food shop- but looking at a few of the big names around they do not do as good a job as this one). I thought the name was a bit naff when I first saw it but then I'm not any good at running a business and the person who used the name obviously knew a good deal more than I do. Fair play, they are a nice little place and being where they are must be good as the only other places within shouting distance are McDuffers and Kentucky. I know which I prefer out of those choices and I'll always stick to the great British diet of starch and fat. That was meant to be a joke but it probably fails like most of my jokes do. End point...I prefer the great British diet rather than the 'Great American Dream' diet.

Fast turnaround with food orders, even for a group of 5-6 people. They make wonderful bacon baps & baguettes which my team enjoy throughly on any weekday. Polite and friendly staff.

Friendly staff and great service. Food made to order and can either phone in and collect or order in store. (The mozzarella, jalapeno and pepperoni panini is delish!) Prices are very reasonable, ingredients are fresh and would definitely recommend.

Lovely service and staff, always helpful and happy :) Also one of the best Brie and Cranberry sandwiches I have ever had, and for a great price! Will be going here more often for my work lunches.
