Nestled in the historic heart of Ludlow, The Queens is a delightful family-run pub that exudes charm and warmth. Housed in an inn dating back to the 1840s, it offers a cozy atmosphere where visitors can savor home-cooked meals made from locally sourced ingredients. The vaulted ceiling restaurant provides stunning views over Ludford, while the inviting bar serves up a selection of real ales.
Really great service, they gave us a lovely welcome. We had a dog so we’re seated in the bar area, restaurant was full anyway. Nice menu and tasty food (steak and pie and chips. Crumble and custard for pud was amazing too!). Would definite again. Thanks!

Wow just wow food great the politeness of the bar staff was superb. Dogs welcome in the bar area. Boy did our dog get spoiled the locals were lovely. Clean tables with a old feel to the place and yes would go back if ever on our holidays here again.
Allan O — Google review
Went here today, 03/10/25. Unfortunately, last day of holiday. Wished we had found this earlier in the week. All I can say is, food amazing, staff lovely and welcoming, and the bonus of being dog friendly. Keep up the good work guys, you deserve all the credit.

Up there with one of the best pub Sunday roasts we have eaten . We stayed in Ludlow last night, stayed at the Downton lodge where the food was exceptional . I’m only saying this as I wanted to share how good this pub food was . We had the mixed meat roast each and have to say it was delicious. Also my partner is very fond of bloody Mary’s , apparently one of the best she’s had also . The manager/ owner Jane was absolutely lovely , very professional and attentive to every need , the staff were also attentive , Thankyou Sue for helping us . We had a lovely chilled afternoon and definately will return to Ludlow and the queens .
Perry A — Google review
I didn’t stay the night here but I ate dinner in the pub. I don’t normally leave reviews but it was so nice that I had to comment. I only had one course, the pan fried sea bass with the sides but it all had such a nice flavour and was so carefully done that I really had to write this. I didn’t try any other dishes as I was quite full by the end but I’d fully recommend that.
Ayesha H — Google review
Just had a most delicious Sunday lunch. A plateful of tender, lean, roast beef cooked to perfection. Superb cooked vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and wonderful gravy. Excellent service and great value.
Brian E — Google review
We were staying In Ludlow for a week and ate here twice. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Jim C — Google review
We came to the area for a few days from Wales and found this lovely pub in Ludlow. The Sunday dinner was superb, best one we've had in a good while (Cobblestones in Dunster is the best!) We brought out spaniel who also was welcomed and enjoyed. Great choice of local beers and ales to boot!

Nestled in the charming town of Ludlow, The Blue Boar is a historic pub that dates back to 1650, offering a delightful blend of traditional ambiance and modern comforts. With its inviting indoor fireplace and seasonal outdoor garden, it’s the perfect spot for enjoying local beers and fine wines while savoring delicious pub fare. Whether you choose to dine al fresco or cozy up inside, the warm atmosphere encourages conversation among friends and family.
Six of us had five different mains and I was coveting all the others' choices. Don't choose the sausages option. No complaints but it was average and unfulfilling. The Thai waitress was brilliant and a good evening was had by all
Michael W — Google review
I ummed and aahed between a 3* and 4*, because it was generally good, but it wasn't very good and there are far better food and beer options in Ludlow. They could have done a few things better. We had 3 courses here. The starters were okay. A very nicely done chorizo scotch egg and an okay terrine. The terrine was bought in rather than made on site which was a bit disappointing, and it was fine. We both had scampi for main, and it was okay but not great. The chips were really lacking. I think it was £16.50. For that price, the chips should be brilliant and the scampi crispy. Puddings were pretty disappointing. Crumble was lacking in flavour, so heavy on the crumble relative to the fruit and they felt either rushed if homemade or bought in. Beer selection was good but not as local or as wide ranging a choice as elsewhere in Ludlow. And finally... it was bloody cold! Everyone in the whole room had coats on. The radiators was off and it was cold.

First time eaters. Well, just got me self a new job and the Mrs wanted to go out for food to celebrate. Spent the best part of 2hrs deliberating where to go and settled on here. Warm welcome from bar staff. Had starters and mains. Great food at a decent price. Would have taken pics of food, but was starving and pretty much inhaled it. Sausage and mas oh and a spag boll. Here's a pic of an empty glass of proper poured Guinness!
Matt B — Google review
Lovely traditional pub with great food and friendly helpful staff. In fact i asked if it was possible for a taxi to be booked to take us back to the hotel we were staying at, and was told that the taxi service was pretty spase in Ludlow. But not to worry as she was finishing her shift and she would give us a lift back! Which she did. 😁

Beautiful old building in the town centre. Lovely layout inside, friendly staff and great service - really enjoyed our food and drink. Something for everyone.
Richard W — Google review
Had a meal here, few days ago. Four of us went and we all enjoyed our meals. Staff were absolutely lovely and so professional. We would go back again and recommend this place.
Alison F — Google review
Very nice traditional pub, with a (very welcome) open fire. The food we had was good, I enjoyed the fish and chips. The Gammon was a little grisly in places, but otherwise very good. I would definitely recommend the Blue Boar if you like a good traditional English pub with good traditional pub grub. This would not be for those who are looking for a gastro pub!

Went in for Sunday lunch on father's day, not too busy, lovely atmosphere! Food was served quite quickly, my son had the beer battered fish and thoroughly enjoyed it! And I had the roast beef which was tender and delicious, all veg was cooked perfectly and tasted divine, each guest was pleased with their meal, will definitely be returning.. 1 fish and chips, 3 roast dinners, 2 Mediterranean tart meals with 2 tarts to takeaway, and 8 drinks £137 which was reasonably priced as well

We stopped in for lunch and a drink on a Saturday. The start serving food at 12 and almost all the tables were gone by 12.15 so they are very popular! Nice to drink a local pint of Ludlow Bitter. My wife really liked the tomato soup.

I loved it, the beef and Yorkshire pudding was a really excellent meal, the beer was absolutely wonderful

Had the tavern ultimate burger. Best burger I've tasted. Misses had the chicken burger and she said the same. Really, really nice. You can tell that it's locally sourced ingredients. Would definitely come back here. Thank you

Everywhere else in Ludlow had stopped serving/ run out of food on a Sunday afternoon! So glad they had because the Bull Ring food was amazing. They were very busy but the service was excellent and the food arrived promptly.

Food was delicious and plentiful at reasonable prices. Pleasant relaxing atmosphere. Great friendly and helpful staff.

Walked in off the street, not booked. Met by a lovely lady who asked if we were there for food.. I really liked this , puts you at ease . Food was good, not great, but just good.. There are a lot of places that can't even manage that.
Mark W — Google review
Called in for a late lunch with Mr P after exploring Ludlow. The female member of staff was very friendly. The menu was varied and the prices what you would expect for the area. I had fish pie and it was very, very good. Lots of filling, nice sauce and great mash topping. Mr P had fish and chips. We both enjoyed our food. Definitely somewhere we would return, maybe on a Saturday night when they have live music. Beautiful old building too.

Had Sunday lunch today in the Wheatsheaf. OMG, it has to be the best Sunday lunch we've had in a long time. Food piping hot, peppery mash, veggies cooked to perfection, beef cut like butter. Staff were very friendly. Couldn't fault it. Also great value. Will definitely return.

We stopped at the pud for a Pint and a sandwich and found a table outside with a great view down the street as it felt you were sitting in theiddle of the road. Lovely sunny afternoon location so had to enjoy a few more pints. Great people watching location and the muppets trying to drive through the road restrictions 😂😂
Mark ( — Google review
Lovely food experience. Friendly staff. Cosy bar area. Excellent setting.
Tom A — Google review
Be warned that some of the rooms are directly over the bar and it is a loud pub staying open late. Noisy until 12.30am and then people going up and down the corridors until way into the early hours.
Clare U — Google review
Stayed here in March and sadly, it wasn’t quite the cosy escape I’d hoped for. The whole place had a lingering smell of used oil that made it feel more like a chip shop than an inn. The mattress deserves a special mention – imagine lying on a pile of coat hangers and you’ll get the idea. Noise travels impressively well through the walls and floors; I felt like I was part of every conversation happening downstairs and next door. With a bit more TLC, it could be lovely, but it’s not somewhere I’d rush back to. Sorry

Decent pub just off the market square. Good selection of beers on tap plus alcohol free Guinness. Like most pubs it's not overly busy but has a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Iain W — Google review
We stopped in for a quick drink and a spot of lunch. The menu you in the alleyway mentioned a selection of loaded fries but only one type was available at the time. We went with the brisket loaded fries with cheese, a good portion size and quick service. Would highly recommend. I suspect it can get busy in there, and this isn't helped by a party of two deciding to sit on a table suited for six. Would definitely go back again.

Both Flat Eric and I love Joules pubs, never been to a bad one. This pub is a super old world pub down a side alley. Flat Eric had a pint of Joules Pale Ale. Ic and Flic on cider. Toilets upstairs. A super pub to visit. Lovely ambience.

Lovely pub! Very big indoor space that is a "proper pub" but is fresh and clean and has a beer garden too. The food was lovely! We had homemade lasagne and garlic bread, served in individual dishes. So tasty and a big portion. Will definitely be back next time we're in Ludlow.
D M — Google review
Authentic pub worth a visit in Ludlow! The Guinness was a good pint (hard to find these days) also fairly priced. Unable to comment on food as we didn’t have any however what I saw coming from the kitchen looked nice 😊

Food good. Steak superb. They were busy but we didn't have to wait long. Starters large portions. Leave space for mains.

Nestled in a charming location, The Squirrel is a bright and modern pub that caters to families with its inviting patio and play area. This establishment serves up a delightful array of rotisserie and classic dishes, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. Guests have consistently praised the warm hospitality provided by staff members like Helen, who goes above and beyond to ensure everyone feels welcome.
First meal here, won't be last. Seated promptly, service really good from the host and the guy who brought us our meals. Long wait for desserts, but but overall experience left us really pleased. Food was delicious and the presentation was good.
Ellie — Google review
Attended today and was served by the lovely Helen. She was very accommodating and offered advice on puddings. Food was tasty however the steak was a little tough. Lasagne was very nice.
Charlie W — Google review
Had big expectations reading the menu and in the end we decided to have a pie each. I chose the best pie ever and my wife chose the steak and pie duo. Unfortunately, both were underwhelming, with my pie crust being burnt which meant it was inedible. Very disappointed. I was told the steak was nice but as you can see from the picture the pie was tiny (eaten in 3 bites). The pub is lovely and love the dog snacks menu 😃. The service was fine but with it being a Saturday lunchtime the staff were very busy and no one came to ask if our food was okay so I couldn't mention the issue with the burnt pie.
Jonathan P — Google review
Visiting Ludlow with my Dad for 2 nights, we ate at The Squirrel for dinner both nights...I can highly recommend the food ( good selection of pub standards) & have to make a special mention of the warm & friendly welcome that Helen provided, as busy as she was she took time to chat, smile & gave recommendations, perfectly professional & relaxed, this is as good as hospitality gets....we hope to be back to visit again..many thanks...
Tracey P — Google review
We visited the Squirrel twice during our two night stay at Ludlow. On both occasions we had a great experience. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The food was especially tasty and decent size portions. Definitely worth a visit. Thank you to all the staff, you're all doing a great job.
Martin F — Google review
Had a great nightcap at The Squirrel and a cracking breakfast at The Squirrel, whilst staying at the Foldgate LaneTravelodge at Ludlow next door, which doesn't have a cafe or restaurant. We were made very welcome and enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended.
Belinda H — Google review
We are giving 5stars for service because of Helen’s attentiveness to our table, she helped my daughter order an appropriate and tasty meal to accommodate the dessert (sundae) she was soo excited to have. We’d had a long day, Helen’s cheerful demeanour and helpfulness was welcome. Alex the chef brought our main course and made sure we had everything we needed and were all content, we appreciated his professional hospitality. When we arrived we felt initially welcome by a lady with short hair, after her welcome we were rushed to our table by James who spoke very fast and we felt very much a burden and almost as though we’d intruded. When my daughter and son’s much anticipated “sundae” arrived in a soup bowl rather than a flute they were disappointed, they didn’t make a fuss but Helen did overhear their slight disappointment and offered to change it, (especially as they’d seen adults eating the same dessert a half hour earlier in a flute) Bless Helen, she did ask James if she could change it to sundae flutes, sadly we heard his response to her which was along the lines of “it being the same amount of ice cream” “no, there’s no sundae bowls left” Overall lovely meal but Helen should be manager, she’s an excellent example of hospitality/service staff. Thanks

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Ludlow, Bistro 7 is a beloved gem among locals that embodies a straightforward yet delightful philosophy: serve up smiles, source top-notch local produce, and cook it to perfection. This charming eatery prides itself on crafting beautiful homemade dishes using only the finest ingredients. Diners rave about the deliciously prepared meals that strike just the right balance in portion sizes while remaining reasonably priced for such quality fare.
What a fantastic restaurant! The food was tasty and perfectly cooked, the portions were exactly the right amount and everything (including the wine) was fairly priced for the quality! Service was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend booking this place if you are in the area.
Pauline J — Google review
It was our first visit to Ludlow, so before we went I did some research as my wife is celiac and so I was looking for somewhere that would accommodate us and Bistro 7 looked very good. I contacted them via email with our request and requirements and managed to book in advance. When we arrived, there was a sign saying fully booked, so we were chuffed we'd got a table. From the get go, the staff were really friendly and accommodating and had taken note of my wife's dietary needs, that was very good we thought. The staff kindly altered one of the dishes for my wife abd were on hand to answer further questions. I had a local beer that was super and my wife a soft drink that was very refreshing. The beer was so nice I had another! When the starters arrived they looked superb, with flavours to match, they were so nice. Suitably impressed when the mains came they were equally impressed, the combination of flavours were a triumph. The resturant is not huge but there is a very nice atmosphere. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, it was a lovely experience. Unfortunately, we couldn't manage desserts despite the fact they also looked very nice. Our thanks to all of the staff for making our short stay in Ludlow very memorable, we had a lovely time. We would certainly recommend.
Stephen B — Google review
Very tasty and well-cooked meals, pleasingly presented and at a sensible price. Excellent service and restaurant decor The portions for the main courses were quite small and left us wanting more (not that we are at all part of the 'pile it high /as much as you can eat' brigade!). Maybe it's a cunning plan to up-sell the starters and desserts 😂 These were also excellent A good experience and we'd definitely re-visit
S L — Google review
Booked in advance for a meal at Bistro 7. We wasn’t disappointed. Restaurant fully booked. We had a starter & main. Too full to eat a dessert. I order the pate for starter and must admit I coulda have eaten this again - it was so tasty. My husband order the pigeon for starter and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Our mains were the beef stroganoff and the steak. A good sized portion and tasty food. A nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Our only negative point would be too many tables in restaurant, as your quite close to other diners, plus no hand sanitiser in bathroom. We recommend dining at this restaurant
Tracey C — Google review
A little bit of fancy! What a fabulous menu... Starters, mains and desserts are superbly varied and most definitely not the regular menu of so many restaurants... Great choices include Cajun bubble and squeak with poached egg, Wood Pigeon and Venison , all beautifully seasoned, cooked and presented. Such an enjoyable meal in a lovely atmosphere. The owners certainly know their trade!
Debbie C — Google review
Luckily passed this place, called in to see if they had any availability, and managed to book a table. All the food was beautifully cooked and presented and delicious. Good wines were available, the service was great and the staff were friendly and efficient. Couldn't decide on which dessert to have so had the sharing plate😋Would definitely recommend and come back if ever in the area again.
Kate R — Google review
The bubble and squeak starter was mouth wateringly warming. Followed by the Hake which was full of flavour and a delightful crunch to the cockles. The the sticky toffee pudding was sweet and light. More of a light sponge and the toffee sauce soaked into complete the perfect mouthful. Or in other words.......Yummy in my tummy!

The Church Inn is a historic pub and guesthouse located in the heart of Ludlow, Shropshire. Housed in a Grade II listed building dating back to the 14th century, it exudes warmth and character. The inn offers a selection of hand-picked local ales and serves pub fare in its bar/restaurant. The modern guestrooms are spacious, some even featuring balconies.
Had lunch at the Church Inn and it was wonderful. This is a really well-run gaff with top-notch food and a great array of choice. Staff were friendly, efficient and rather lovely too. It has pub classics - pies, fish & chips, etc. - but one or two seasonal and French-inspired dishes. Like the pea ravioli I had with asparagus, broad beans, butter... you get the idea! The one criticism is a minor one. The Rum Baba needed more of a rum kick! That aside, no complaints from any of us! 5* nosh. Happy to recommend The Church especially given its central location. Will return soon!

Sunday Lunch. Nut roast was excellent. A really lovely plate of food. Very happy campers with a pint of Ludlow brewery ale. Sat upstairs with nice view of church and houses. A really well run place. Clean and the gents are well worth a visit just to see the urinals and instructions.
Tim P — Google review
I didn't stay here. I came to the restaurant and had dinner on a Sunday night. The food and wines were excellent. I really enjoyed my starter of Chicken liver parfait, and I was bowled over by my mains of roast pork, with five wonderfully prepared vegetables crowned by a huge yorkshire pudding. I have to say that it has been a long time since I have savoured British food this good. Most impressed. Recommend highly!
Dominic D — Google review
We normally love to come here to sit in the church beer garden under old trees. Lovely venue. We've never used it as hotel and cannot comment on the rooms. We have also not tried the food. It's great for drinks usually but this was a busy weekend with performances at the castle and a lot of visitors. Most places were prepared for it and so they should be. They knew what to expect. Unfortunately bar staff were slow and not very efficient. A lot of time wasted to queue for drinks so we only stayed for one. The queue was so long and annoyingly, people kept dropping in from the street, ignoring the queue and ordered directly at the bar. Staff didn't react or direct them to the queue which was really annoying so we had to say something. Poorly managed. Otherwise nice place.
Cloud — Google review
Why it wasn't 5 for location was because of being next to big church with bells going off from 7am in morning. But if you're a heavy sleeper no problem. Great rooms, so tidy! Would definitely stay there again if I went back to Ludlow.
Phill P — Google review
Didn’t stay here, just had an evening meal, which was…..genuinely, one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The starters were amazing and the mains were amazing. Could not fault this food at all. It was well presented and tasted phenomenal. There were 3 of us in total. We had starters of: slow roasted belly draught bites, cheese soufflé and fish cakes in a Thai Red curry sauce. They were all so tasty, words cannot describe how good the cheese soufflé was For mains, we had: Steak and ale pie, chicken cordon bleu Caesar salad and chips and pumpkin with squash tortellini, all of which were to die for

Staff managed to find the two of us a table to eat - we hadn’t booked ahead - thank you. It was mussels night and I thoroughly enjoyed them - my wife had the pea ravioli and it was lovely. Beer was nice and the staff made time to interact with us during our meal and drinks ordering. A great find and we were glad we walked through their doors!!!!

What a very nice place to visit, staff all very good and helpful. Lack of parking here at this Inn, but there is a carpark about 400 yards away where you can leave your car, it is very safe also. All in all a very good experience with our stay in The Church.

Very nice. Lovely food. The decor creates an authentic atmosphere. Great service. Will visit again. My Auntie loves it here.

Have been a couple of times and the first time had a great experience when they were doing thai style kebabs. The second time we went to the restaurant and had chicken stay which was OK, but not nearly enough satay about the amount of one bit of chicken rather than 4. Had sticky rice and the new beef main. Which was ok in flavour but not outstanding.

I could have stayed here for hours! The atmosphere in the bar was super relaxed... Lots of unusual art, some from a local artist, and little starry lights gave it all a warm glow. Tables, chairs, barstools and sofas give you plenty of seating options. The staff were all friendly, inviting and attentive. We had a nice tapas platter to start and a main meal each, all packed full of flavour and hot. All topped off with some rather delicious dessert cocktails. Fab evening with the hubby whilst visiting Ludlow.

The food was excellent in the restaurant, the best Thai food I've eaten in a long time . Great service, lovely decor . We had a few cocktails in the bar side after food and they were A*

This was my first experience of dining in a restaurant, under the 'Eat Out to Help Out Scheme' introduced by the government. It was only possible to reserve a table for lunchtime on Tuesday 18th - evenings were fully booked out. There was outdoor seating which was decently spaced out. I ordered the Pad Thai (main) with Tofu and a starter of Spring Rolls (vegetable), all served on the same plate. A Chang-style lager went well with it. I think this is the best Thai Meal I have tasted for a while; the restaurant is worth another visit and I will try out the other meals :)

We were recommended this place by locals so we’re trying it out. Very central location tucked away along a side street, with great bar and indoor/outdoor eating areas. Lots of lush planting in the spacious outdoor eating area. Food: prawn skewers excellent. Thai salad super-fresh but is properly spicy-hot!! (Be warned!). Sundays is a relaxed outdoor barbecue. Friendly service. Definitely recommended. And we haven’t even had our main course yet (Meat Platter, in case you’re wondering!).

Ludlow Brewing Co is a must-visit destination for beer enthusiasts. Housed in a sensitively restored Victorian railway shed, the brewery offers a comfortable and informal bar area where visitors can enjoy a full range of quality beers, including the toffee-ish Ludlow Best. The brewery tap and visitor center are open to daytime visitors throughout the week, providing an opportunity to witness the gleaming brewing equipment that stretches up into the old ceilings.
Had a lovely time at Ludlow Brewery yesterday! We did a tour of the premises and was educated about the roots and history of the business by Peter! Peter was excellent, very knowledgeable, personable and an all round good guy! A real asset for your business… It was that good, we called back today for some Silent Knight! ☺️ Steve&Tracey 🍺

Ludow Brewing Company is well worth a visit if you're in the area. The bar is well designed and they offer tours also which I didn't personally experience so can't rate that, but the bar is very busy and offers quality beer as you might expect. It doesn't have the best views if you sit outside as the view is basically an ALDI car park but inside the bar is well designed and a good space.

The best of local breweries - inside an old railway goods shed, with the brewery itself on display alongside plentiful seating. Excellent beers to drink there and to take away.
Kevin P — Google review
My colleagues and I visited the brewery for lunch and a tour and had a fantastic time. The food was great quality, the beer was excellent (you have to try "Silent Night", it's a standout), and the tour was genuinely fascinating. Bob was an excellent guide and storyteller, and we were all completely engaged throughout. We’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic tap room with cask and keg beer available. Plenty of seating, dog and kid friendly. The beer of course was well kept and I like the fact its a slice of brewing history. Def worth a visit if you are in the area,

We did the tour. Highly recommend. Margaret was fantastic. Very knowledgable and engaging. Loved hearing the history of why food and drink is so important to Ludlow. Great to see behind the scenes and try a selection of their drinks. Stairway is the standout!

Fab talk & tour…. Took well over an hour. Small brewery but great story. Great talk and history of the brewery and all the intricacies of brewing ales, beers, lagers and stout. I thought I knew the difference but not really !! Lovely beer sampling… Shame i was driving. Bill was a great tour guide and resident expert. Informative, informal, funny and genuine. Great guy - a real asset to the company. Would definitely recommend for an afternoon - but get a taxi and enjoy a few beers in the bar area / balcony & outside.

My daughter Zoe and I had a great Brewery tour yesterday while visiting the Oktoberfest event. Amana was a great guide with good knowledge of the beers and the brewing process and the samples were excellent. We left with an increased appreciation of the brewery, beers and care taken in the brewing process. Afterwards we enjoyed a few beers in the bar with friends and family

The inviting atmosphere is complemented by live music every Friday evening, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed night out. Diners rave about the hearty meals and friendly service; many have been pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the staff are even without reservations.
Lovely bar and cafe located in a small courtyard a short distance from the market square. The courtyard you have to pass through has the feel of going back in time, complete with a very old Morris Minor parked outside. The cafe is very well decorated, mixing modern and old and very clean. Staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent. Great coffee. Feels very comfortable, a place you want to visit to catch up with friends with a coffee in the day, or a few drinks and a meal in the evening.

I’d been here years ago and my husband wanted a spontaneous drive to a nice restaurant. I recommended here and said I hope the food and service is what I remember… IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Food was excellent! And the staff were so friendly I couldn’t recommend this place more ! We drove an hour and 15 mins purely for the food and would 10/10 do it again! If you want a nice day out with good food and nice people , this is the place !

Great place for a coffee/tea and cake just behind the main street. Tea was excellent, the scone was delicious, fresh and warm, fab with jam and cream. The staff were lovely and the background music was great. Lovely place and well worth a visit.

Lots of gluten free options and lovely atmosphere. We specified in the online booking that one of us had a gluten intolerance, and they had written the gluten free options out on a board and put this on the table ready for when we arrived. Great service and tasty food!

Thought this was quite a cute little place with a nice vibe. The menu offers a good variety, with plenty of options for vegetarians, vegans, and meat-eaters alike. There’s parking nearby, but not directly outside, so you’ll need to walk a bit. Customer service was really good, though we had to wait a while since it was quite busy when we visited. As for the food, it was average, not bad but not particularly memorable either. The main issue was that it tasted a bit bland. On the bright side, my friend really enjoyed the tea they serve. Overall, it’s a decent spot with a welcoming atmosphere and inclusive menu options, but the flavours could use a little more punch.
Gargi T — Google review
We hadn’t booked so went by chance. We were really politely accommodated. We were looking for good hearty food and a relaxed atmosphere which is what we got. The burgers were fantastic (I can’t remember what it was called but it was their headline one, two burgers, pulled pork, chicken, slaw, onion ring). The ice cream sundae desserts looked great but we had no room left for them. Pleasantly surprised that Blue Light Card also gave a 15% discount on mains. Would definitely go again.

Since its inception in 2018 with the launch of Ludlow Gin, this distillery has been dedicated to creating premium spirits that shine both neat and in cocktails. Visitors can enjoy an engaging experience at the distillery, which includes informative tours led by knowledgeable staff who are passionate about their craft.
Stopped on a whim for a look at the distillery. Tried various samples and signed up for the tour, which was very nicely done. Informal and interesting. What a great success story and humbly conveyed. Bought some of their gin and a limited edition PX influenced whiskey, and cold brew coffee liqueur, all surprisingly decent and will continue to enjoy their products going forward.

We visited Ludlow Gin Distillery yesterday. After trying the blood orange and pomelo gin in a pub in Ludlow, myself and my partner popped in to look at the gift shop, bar & shop in the distillery and the farm shop. I was impressed by the layout of the bar/ shop area. We spoke to a lovely gent ( who unfortunately, I didn’t get his name) who was very informative and we sampled some of the fruity gin collection and the triplecello. The gent working was super friendly and lovely, an absolute asset to the shop. Safe to say we ended up leaving with the blood orange & pomelo gift set and a bottle of triple cello! Also the glasses are the perfect addition. Would highly recommend a trip to Ludlow Gin Distillery!

We were gifted the distillery tour and gin school for my 40th birthday and it did not disappoint. Ed was a brilliant host! Very knowledgeable, and generally a top guy which the time fly by. Very happy to have learned more about the gin making process and botanical flavourings. We left with a big smile on our faces and with our own 'Batch40' bottle of gin which will cracked open when we get home.

Good beer (£2.70 in the afternoon!) and wine. Particularly pleasant service from Dee. We had the basic baguette with ham/ tuna mayonnaise & chips, salad and both were more than acceptable. And at just £6.75. All in all, not an exciting place but for a’basic ‘ pub lunch difficult to better

The George is a newly renovated venue in Ludlow that offers a relaxed and friendly vibe. Visitors can enjoy delicious meals such as the 8oz rump steak and house burger, which are highly recommended by patrons. The staff is described as lovely and very attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Additionally, the pub offers a selection of handpump real ales for beer enthusiasts to savor.
We had a fantastic experience at The George, Ludlow! My fiancée and I both ordered the rump steak cooked medium rare, and it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant’s interior is stunning, with an elegant and inviting atmosphere. The location is equally breathtaking – just 20 steps from Ludlow Castle and situated right outside the Christmas Market in December, making it the perfect spot for a festive meal. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
Garin D — Google review
The food was okay — nothing special, but not terrible either. The tartar sauce that came with the fish and chips wasn’t really tartar sauce at all. It tasted more like a basic mix of mustard and mayo, and wasn’t enjoyable. Service was quite poor. It took a long time for someone to even bring us the menu. Then they forgot to bring the drink menu, and one of our drinks was missed — twice. We had to call the staff over whenever we needed something; they didn’t check in on us or ask how things were going. They also left our dirty dishes on the table for too long. The atmosphere was fine — it was sunny outside, which was nice, but otherwise nothing special. One more thing: the glasses were really dirty. When you held them up to the sunlight, it was pretty gross. Overall, I’d give it 2.5 stars.
Arnita H — Google review
We both had the surf and turf off the specials menu which consisted off a beautiful T-bone steak, cooked to perfection, and five king prawns which were delicious, calamari to start which was equally as good. Staff very polite with service quick and efficient. Little surprised by the 10% service charge, but we just adjusted our tip accordingly. Great overall experience.

Had some nice pizzas for lunch here. We could see them making our pizzas and putting them in the pizza oven. Service was quick - our food and drinks came promptly. Honestly the best venue for live music in Ludlow. Wonderful, friendly staff with a good knowledge of the local area. A must-go-to place to visit if staying in Ludlow for a weekend or longer! Toby and the team are the kindess people in Ludlow!

Only my second visit here. Flat Eric said " give it a go! Hard to judge an empty pub on a Thursday afternoon in September. One real ale, Wye Valley Hereford Pale Ale. Ic and Flic enjoyed it. Annoying cRAP music blaring out and lots of TV's. An unattractive backyard beer garden and an upstairs room dedicated to two pool tables suggests a pub for the younger crowd. The building has unfulfilled potential.
MADDOGLEP — Google review
So it's not amazing. There are nicer pubs in Ludlow. But they show all the sport, the barman was great in making us feel welcome and the beer choice was alright. One cask, a few good kegs plus all the usual lagers and Guinness etc.

Not really a drinkers pub due to very limited choice of Ales. Great place for free entertainment with DJs and live music every Friday and Saturday. Late license too. Friendly staff and atmosphere. For those interested there's Sky Sports in TVs. Also a pool table in back room. Great place but let down by beer choice which is a shame.

Nestled like a charming beach hut, The Fish House is a delightful seafood haven run by Lou Hackney, whose family has been in the fishmongery business since the 1940s. This unique spot offers an inviting atmosphere where you can savor fresh seafood while enjoying the lively ambiance of locals and their furry friends. Whether you choose to dine on their terrace or at one of the cozy barrel tables inside, you're in for a treat with their renowned seafood platters that are simply irresistible.
I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I visited today and as a wheelchair user they couldn’t have been more helpful to me. Even bringing out a huge umbrella in case it rained (it didn’t). The food was first class, all the seafood was so fresh and delicious as was the fresh bread. It was decidedly yummy! The staff were friendly and helpful and I urge anyone visiting Ludlow to visit here; you won’t regret it!
June M — Google review
Well to start the oysters were fabulously huge and delicious . But the platter lacked any langoustines or king prawn , just Lille cold water prawns . It was the outdoor seating that was the main problem . On such a beautiful day we wanted to sit outside . But those benches are killers , for the back and having a table on an incline was a constant battle to keep the food on the table . You want to sit and relax and eat not have to keep shifting due to being so uncomfortable. Change your seating , and add a couple of decent size prawns please and we would return .
Travelling T — Google review
We have just had the top of the range meal today, three tiers of seafood, whole lobster, whole dressed crab, gravalax salmon, cooked salmon, smoked trout, sliced tuna, crevettes, prawns, shrimps, huge shell on king prawns, anchovies in chilli oil, mixed seafood in herb oil, samphire, chilli dip wedges of fresh lemon and chunks of cob bread. This was a meal for 4 people and was £100 set price. This, obviously, is £25 each and trust me, there is more than enough food for 4. The staff are wonderful....one lovely lady. This is a wet fish shop with 4 tables for food, it is also licensed, we had a delightful Chardonnay. You MUST BOOK, you will not get in otherwise.

What a gem a fishmonger who not only sells a great range of fish and crustaceans but also has a dining service. Seating inside is limited and there is some seating outside. We spent five days In Ludlow last week, tried a few of the pubs in the town centre, so disappointing, little more than soulless eating places. The next night we tried the Unicorn, what a find, a proper pub selling great beers, served by friendly staff. The whole place has retained it's 17th century feeling, lots of beams and charm. While they don't do meals, there are filled rolls on offer, and on the Thursday nights they put on a cheese and cracker evening, buy a pint and help yourself to a large array of cheeses, crackers, pickled onions, etc, but be quick, they disappear quickly. Thank you to the staff for being so friendly.

Nestled in a charming locale, The Maidenhead is the perfect spot for a delightful dining experience. Whether you're indulging in their mouthwatering BBQ pulled pork burger or savoring the perfectly cooked steak, every dish promises to impress. Guests rave about the exquisite presentation and quality of food, from arancini to rich chocolate fudge cake. The pub also boasts an inviting atmosphere with friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure your visit is memorable.
Beautiful pub, although on the main road B4361, you wouldn’t believe it… gardens behind are lovely…cared for by Scott. The food… husband and I both went for the maidenhead classic burger which was amazing .. Richard and Rachel run a very smooth slick pub, quick service very friendly. Hobson and Butty Bach yum.

Very nice burger and chips...2 big and juicy patties, well cooked a didn't have to wait too long. Service was really good, friendly and polite. They served a decent coffee too. ☕️

Had an amazing dinner this evening. I had the bbq pulled pork burger which was incredible. The roulade and raspberry sorbet were amazing. My friend had a steak which was cooked perfectly and he couldnt get enough of the chocolate fudge cake. The menu had a good selection however I would of preferred another pub classic like lasagne or a steak and ale pie or something like that. They had a good selection of drinks too. The staff were really friendly as well. I would recommend this place and i will be coming back as well. (Shared the menu in my review)

Four of us had a fabulous lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Excellent service and drinks choices. The food was really well presented and was of the highest quality. I had arancini followed by beef. Both dishes were delicious. Great to have The Maidenhead and The Boot so close to us, spoiled for choice. Can't recommend The Maidenhead enough, top notch. Dog friendly and great beer garden also.

We stopped here on our way back from a weekend away and had Sunday lunch, it was absolutely incredible! The food was delicious, with generous portions and great flavors. We’ll definitely be coming back to try the regular menu, as it was just so good. Highly recommend!

Had a lovely evening meal here on Saturday, whilst we were away in the van. Dog friendly and they even had some treats on the bar for him. Hubby had chicken breast with wild mushrooms and I had salmon with lemon, capers and a risotto. Pudding was chocolate fudge cake which was fab. Really lovely food, great beers and the staff were nothing but helpful. Would defo recommend!!!

Last night we had the most beautiful meal! I chose off the specials board “ fillet steak, fondant potato, stuffed portobello mushroom and garlic buttered green beans “ My friends had the chicken burger, and the chicken kebab, with spicy naughty fries. Really delicious!! Couldn’t fault the food, great service and atmosphere. We will definitely return, thank you

Pub
The Old Street Tavern in Ludlow is a highly recommended pub known for its excellent ales and welcoming atmosphere. It's described as a classic, well-kept beer establishment with a lively and friendly ambiance. The pub offers a nostalgic vibe with cozy seating, an inviting fireplace, and even benches outside for the summer. Visitors can enjoy good conversation and well-tended beers in this charming setting.
Flat Eric made this super find. Pubs are closing all over the UK but this is the third "new one" in Ludlow since our last visit in 2020. This was a pub many years ago and was the local for Prince Rupert of the Rhine. A cavalry leader for Charles 1st in the English Civil War. ( 1640 - 49 )..thus a long history. ( also YouTube Prince Rupert Drops!) Four real ales on handpump. Had a half of a new brewery for me, Sarah Hughes. Ic and Flic had a half of Great Newsome Golden. Both excellent. Toilets upstairs where a function room offers live music nights. Might just be my new favourite pub in Ludlow. Excellent taste in music as well.

Our first time visiting Ludlow, and I loved this ‘proper’ pub. A bar and separate small room, with another room / live music stage upstairs. A locals’ pub with friendly staff and well kept beer. Very welcoming to non-locals. I’d love to see a band here, but I can imagine it would be deafening, hahah! Dropped in twice in two days, and will most definitely be back.

We loved it here. It is a bit quirky and if you're a bit introverted and quiet then some of the conversations can be a bit intrusive, but it's ultimately a very gorgeous pub, the beer selection is brilliant, and we'd make it our local if we lived there.

Great little find. Googled craft ale pubs before we came to Ludlow and this had good reviews... all true! Great service, great choice of ales and ciders (can recommend both the Hawkstone Ale and Cider 👍. Tried a sausage roll ( new to the menu), and wow, they're a little bit fab, really tasty, and throughly enjoyed it. What a great pub.

Love this little pub. This is the pub that the tourists will miss when visiting Ludlow. Only just off the main street, this is where the local people drink and what a warm and friendly bunch they are. Everyone is happy to chat and treat you like an old friend. It's also just about the only treehouse in town, so great for beer.

A very cute small pub (NOT A MICROPUB). I've broken train journeys in Ludlow a few times, but this place was not on my radar. Good choice of four cask ales, and, if you must drink keg, an equally interesting range -I spotted Jaipur. Check out Untappd to get the gist. Cask around £5 a pint.

Smashing, proper pub. Downstairs more traditional - great selection of beers on cask and keg, and very friendly - I was made to feel very welcome by the handsome, bandana'd barman - while upstairs is a cool music venue, with live bands on each Friday. Worth a visit just gor the bar staff ;-)

Great pub with great atmosphere, cosy seats with a nice fire place. Highly recommend it if you are looking for nostalgic vibe.
