The 41 best bars and drinks in Dudley

We visited this attraction for the first time and it did not disappoint. In fact, it was better than expected, with the whole family enjoying the beautiful animals and stunning gardens and castle. We were surprised how much it had to offer. Many varieties of animals, big to small, cute to scary and everything else in between! The gardens themselves were absolutely amazing, it was a pleasure to walk around all day, soaking it in. There were also a number of playgrounds for the kids a long the way and we all loved the chair lift. - We managed to get over 20,000 steps! The facilities were a little dated (restrooms and restaurant) but functional and offering what you would expect. Overall, good value for money for a family of 4, will likely visit again if we are in the area.

Good selection of animals, enjoyed photographing them all. The site is on quite a hill, and there are lots of hills and steps. Land train is useful for getting to the top. Some areas are rejuvenated and look great, other areas look tired. We had eaten before arriving, which I am glad we did, as food prices were very expensive. £5.50 for a sausage roll is too much.

I visited Dudley Zoo and Castle with my wife and two kids, and we had a great time. There’s plenty to see and do, and all the animals looked healthy and well cared for. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the day, and the grounds were clean and well maintained. The castle grounds are particularly impressive, with lots of interesting information about the site’s history. It’s a long day out, but there’s enough variety to keep everyone entertained. A couple of small downsides – the signage could be clearer, as it was sometimes difficult to get your bearings even with the map. The food was also quite disappointing and expensive: a £6.50 burger was just a plain patty in a bun, with no salad, sauces or cheese, and the chips were cold. The main café building itself looks quite tired and could do with a refresh, though I can understand that much of the money rightly goes towards the care of the animals. Overall, I’d definitely recommend visiting, but I’d suggest bringing your own food or picnic to make the most of the day. It’s a great family outing with a lovely mix of wildlife, history, and scenic views.

Dudley Zoo is a great day out in any weather! The membership is amazing value, and the new playground is fantastic. We went most recently on a grey, rainy day and still saw the tiger, lions, lynx, giraffes, arctic foxes, owls, red pandas, flamingoes, giant tortoises, lemurs, penguins, meercats, all the reptiles, wolverines, geladas and much more. Great fun for children and adults alike. Also love the BSL signs up on some of the animal enclosures.

This zoo and castle combination is a nice place to visit. The enclosures for the animals are suitable and they seem well looked after. I got some great views and photos. You can see Lions, Tigers, Red Pandas, Giraffes, Tapir, Lemur, various monkeys so there's a lot to see. There is a fun chairlift and a few rides. The buildings are not in great condition, but it does have a certain kind of charm. My impression is that this zoo will not last forever, and no one will build a zoo in a castle grounds again, visit while you can.

A fantastic day spent here. Loads of animals to see. Went to the bird of prey talk/display. It's really interesting & well worth doing. History of the castle was great to discover. Would definitely recommend this place to visit.

Absolutely fantastic time at Dudley Zoo. We went on a Thursday afternoon and it was really quiet. The non-zoo animals were baking in the sun, it would have been nice to see bowls of water out for them (the birds and so on). Great selection of wild animals, absolutely beautiful.

Superb Best Bitter (brewed next door) accompanied with a delicious pork pie - a great combination at this truly classic Black Country gem. It can get congested around the bar at lunchtime it’s such a popular place to eat and drink. So encouraging to see conversation rules here - no music and hardly a 📱 in site 👍🏻

Absolutely classic black country pub with brewery attached. Lots of different rooms with various character(s), mild and bitter on handpull like it's 1980 again, cobs too. One of the essential visits in the black country.

Probably my favourite place in the world at this point. I enjoy to take the busses from Brum through the rolling Black Country hills and work up a bit of a thirst while taking in the views from the top deck. The first pint of Mild always goes down in just a few gulps. Ridiculously tasty. Make certain you grab a seat in the front room with the bar in it - you'll always find yourself amidst a good chit chat. I love the bright afternoon sunlight beaming through the windows as the sun sets. 100% pilgrimage worthy place.

Delicious, smooth, creamy golden bitter ale. The best in the Midlands, if not the UK, in my opinion. There's something beautifully unique about Bathams you just can't put finger on. Totally moreish and goes down so easy, Nectar of the Gods, complete Heaven, or medicine as the locals call it. Combined with a pie, cob or pork scratchings a hew pints at The Vine is pure bliss. Friendly staff & atmosphere, wonderful service & great black country prices !! Been coming here for over ten years, Can't beat it !!

The bar is a bit clicky, and not too friendly at times if you're not a local, but the rest of the pub is like stepping into another world, and I feel comfortable in the other rooms. Strangely, the beer isn't always the best pint of Bathams around imo, which is surprising given that it is home to the actual brewery. Anyway, overall it's good enough for me to keep coming back every now and then.

I've already submitted a glowing review but this time I simply popped in for a takeaway. A couple of ham salad rolls and a pork pie! Great traditional, simple food at good prices.

This pub is not your typical boozer.. it's lovely in here with a real homley feel always made to feel welcome and everyone talks to eachother. The food it out of this world with a nice but simple menu.. proppa black country food and cheap as chips.. also deffo recommend the steak and ale pie 👌 Bostin!

Been for a lamb dinner today dinner was nice but the portion of lamb you get is really low like a few little bits of lamb and that's it my missies had the beef theirs two massive slices of beef

Great pub with delicious food. I was there for the second time and I was still nicely surprised with the taste of meals. Portions are big, the food is freshly made and is nicely decorated on the plates . The staff are friendly and the pub is clean and tidy. Summerhouse has plenty of car park spaces and also the garden with the tables and sits outside. Behind the garden area there are meadows with wild flowers and free roaming horses. I highly recommend this pub. It's a shame for me that this pub is not close to Coventry where I live.

wow, wow, wow, beautiful food, had the cottage pie off the lunch menu and it was beautiful, the topping was lovely and fluffy, the meat so perfect and so tasty, my other half had the pasta which stuffed full of flavour and meat, everything was just lovely and tasty, Ela looked after us who was lovely and couldn't do enough to accommodate and look after us, this is a new favourite and will be returning alot!

It's a nice place where the staff are really friendly. The food standard is good,although pricey for what it is. However, in their defence that's the sign of the times for all restaurants. We were a large party when we visited and they accommodated really well. I would definitely go again

Been there few days back with my friend for a quick drink on a hot day. It was surprisingly quiet but still welcoming. The staff were kind and took note of my allergy, ensuring our drinks and dessert were safe for me to consume.

Although we have eaten here before it was our first Sunday lunch. We thought we would give it a try as we had heard good reports. Unfortunately our booking seemed to have "disappeared" but no problem as the very helpful "Alicia's sister" found us a table. The service and atmosphere was relaxed which suited us. The roast beef, and turkey were excellent, tasty and tender however the "trimmings" were a little sparse, with only a quarter of a roasted carrot and same for parsnip. We also thought the green beans and savoy cabbage were a lot less than "al dente" and would have benefited from an extra few minutes cooking, I suspect it wasn't just us judging by what was being left on the plates of others and suggest it needs addressing. The desserts were a good end to a pleasant time.

Advertises itself as a sports bar... Yet on a few occasions when I've called in looking for somewhere to watch the football this pub have been more interested in having a singer or a DJ. They are advertising the England game on Sunday which starts at 5, but in the same post showing a singer from 2:45?? What about the Formula 1 from 2... edit: just completely missing the fact I asked about the "Formula 1".. not the football. as I figured the singer would finish before the football starts

Went for bottomless brunch yesterday for a friend's 70th. They certainly look after you our glasses were never empty. Food was good service was excellent. Definitely recommend 👌

Every bottomless brunch I have at slug and lettuce is always incredible! Always very fast with service ie food and keeping drinks topped up. This time we were served by Daisy-Dilys who was really sweet and gave us amazing service! She really made our experience even more wonderful. Thank you Daisy for an amazing brunch :)

I stopped over on Wednesday evening and it's karaoke night. They had some great up and coming acts perform. Atmosphere was electric, service was really good. A good spot to relax after a stressful day.

Awful! Would have give no stars. It was so quiet yet we waited about 50 minutes for substandard food, which tastes like ot had been cooked in the dirtiest fat ever! I can still taste it. We were given no cutlery, no serviettes and they gave us 2 sachets of sauce and salt and vinegar for 4 people. The toilets were so dirty. The bins were rusty and there was mold around the sinks. I.would not bother!!!

Intriguing place great atmosphere and packed pre kick off. Dirty fries were good. Service with a smile. But the cocktails were over elaborate and pricey but it was like drinking fruit juice. Alcohol felt absent.

Awful experience and wouldn’t recommend going! I was served by 3 different people and their service from all of them was terrible. I asked to speak to the manager and I saw her roll her eyes and she came off her phone to come over to speak to me. You walk into the venue and you feel as though you’re an inconvenience being there yet we are paying high prices for drinks. Wouldn’t go back. Would suggest to anyone else to avoid this place at all costs. Very poorly run

Drinks although lovely are very expensive and not always worth the price. Some staff often try and encourage you to have a gin cocktail worth £8 when you ask for a standard gin and tonic. The food is surprisingly good and reasonably priced. Seating both indoors and outdoors so it's a good place to visit all year round. Outdoor seating is very pretty and indoor seating is a bit quirky.

We drank and fully enjoyed it! Amazing place and friendly staff! They have 241 on cocktails which is good! Outside is amazing, also has a bar outside too! Definitely worth a visit to see for yourself! Amazing place!

Booked in for bottomless brunch. Was running a tad late and tried multiple times to call and no answer. Despite this when we arrived we were greeted by the friendliest of staff. Nat and Rhi I believe their names were. Informed us on how the evening will run and kept drinks flowing. They even acknowledged my dietary requirements so thank you. Had a chat with staff about your own infused gins which are to die for, didn’t mind paying extra to try them. Although limited on the bottomless drinks it’s definitely great value for money and will definitely be returning. UPDATE: Went again for another bottomless brunch. X10 better. Shannon and Natalia this time around we’re wonderful. Many more cocktail selections to choose from. And dietary requirements were still catered for. This is our new fave brunch place🍹 I’ll be back!

I really enjoy visiting Grain Store! The staff are always lovely, the cocktail options are great and there's tons of gin options too. The area out back to really cool and sheltered in case of rain. There are food options that I haven't had the pleasure of trying yet. It's such a great night for casual catch ups or events!

This was my first visit here, and I was excited after reading about the recent refurbishment, and I was very impressed. It's a very lovely pub with a traditional feel. The menu was huge and it was very difficult to choose from so much! But the sandwich I ordered was lovely and the rest of the group were also really impressed.

Food is amazing as always loads of choices of drinks new play area for kids is fantastic great views from the beer garden. Lovely old tavern feel. Parking is available but the pub is very popular and can become impossible to park close at time. I recommend booking a table well in advance and turn up 30mins before just to get a spot then enjoy a drink in the beer garden before a fantastic meal

This place is great, would highly recommend. Very friendly and cozy. And the food is BANGING. I got the Big Bear Burger (or whatever it's called), it was bloody delicious. Picture doesn't do it justice, plus I ate 2 of the onion rings.

This is the first time me and my husband have visited and it definitely won't be the last, from the second we walked in the bar staff were very friendly and welcoming.we had our dinner in the garden with a beautiful view. The scampi and chips we had were amazing. The staff were all chatty and friendly and you could tell they were happy to be there. Sorry didn't get any names but all the staff seemed to work well together and appeared to be young adults which was lovely to see them running the pub so well.

Very friendly and welcoming staff! 2 cocktails for 11 pounds is a bargain for an Australian used to >20 bucks for a single cocktail. Also the cocktails were actually well done and not watered down. Ordered the chicken burger. Was extremely massive and filling. Would come here again, mostly for the cocktails 🍸

Been here several times for food and have to say that this is among the very best places to go and eat and drink in the area. Food is always excellent, beer selection is very good, the atmosphere is great too. Also the staff are friendly and provide excellent customer service. Highly recommended for a pleasant evening out, booking in advance particularly on weekends is essential.

We went on a lunch time and it was packed. Luckily there was an accessible table for us to avoid the steps. The staff were so lovely and the food and cocktails were so yummy. Definitely be back for the BBQ chicken baguette 😁

Visited on Sunday evening. Had a roast as they were still serving until 1830. I had a lamb shank which was delicious! Service was great 👍 👌 staff were attentive. Unfortunately my friends car was stolen from their car park during our visit. This is realise has nothing to do with the pub ans they were helpful in viewing CCTV. Recommend this place.

Well this place is indeed a real find!! I think it's independent of a major brewery chain. The food is excellent and of the Home Cooked variety. Great and varied menu. Wide range of Ales, Beers, Lagers Table Service with a smile. Prices on par with Ember inn and similar so much better value given the quality and service provided. Highly recommend you book in advance as a lot of people already know about this place. I Will be back.

Boss was nice and we can custom our main course and the food was amazing and more than we can eat !!!! Loads of food , we even take away the rest of it !!! Nice service and definitely we will go again!!!!

Incredible value for money. The food is really nice, and the prices are relatively low compared to other bar and grills in the area and that’s why this place is a 5/5 for me. Pound for pound it’s one of the nicest, cheaper places I’ve ever come across. Has a “locals only” vibe, but the atmosphere was fine and the staff were lovely. Enjoyed the chilli chips, and the chilli chicken. My family enjoyed the paneer korma, and roti.

The attention to detail here is amazing. Even the starter — a small salad with balsamic dressing — was bursting with freshness. My main dish, filet mignon, was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Highly recommend.

Went here last week for a mid week family meal. Excellent service, food was lovely and a nice atmosphere. The barman was so friendly and hardworking. Reasonably priced and the beer was good. I had the house curry which I would highly recommend. My daughter had a balti which she loved and my husband had a fish pakora wrap which he said was really good. The kids menu is good too and my youngest had sausage and chips. Overall, a great experience and we will definitely be returning.

Loud music, overpriced, and no quiet corners... Greatly inferior to Spoons. The lack of explicit vegan options on the menu is unacceptable - every section of the menu should have at least 1 or 2 options which are 100% plant-based.

The Royal London is a very popular pub they have a wide range of beers, lagers, and cider, including four hand pulled cask conditioned real ales on when we visited. The real ale was in excellent condition. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick despite it being a match day and the pub being packed out with football fans. We didn't have anything to eat, so i could not comment on the food.

Excellent service and very friendly staff. I was served by a member of staff named Emily and she was very polite and helpful. The food is always great quality and cooked to the perfect standard. There are variety of services as well including pool facilities, a range of seasonal events and live viewings of sports.

Four of us had the bottomless brunch which was great. I did have difficulty booking as you have to pre-book, however the link on Facebook messenger didn't have the pub listed on it. The staff were great and let us have the offer without having pre-booked. I hadn't been in the Royal London for some time, they still have a few pool tables and SkySports on the Tele. The food was lovely & we were well looked after.

What an amazing meal we had here and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Food was incredible 😋 local meet and chef even came out to see us personally to deliver yet more garlic bread to our son. I would say the place is clean and tidier than most pubs I've been to. The food and drinks were served very quickly too. Overall 10/10

On a very short first visit to Dudley, we stopped here (in the restaurant) for dinner. We were so impressed that we came a second night. The food was delicious - beautifully cooked and a good choice of menu. The staff were friendly and helpful. We’d definitely eat here again.

Came here for Sunday lunch today and it was amazing! Honestly the best Sunday lunch I've had in a long time. As a party of 8 (4 adults and 4 children) everyone loved their meals. The service was also excellent. We had: 3 adult Beef dinners 2 adult turkey dinners 1 adult lamb dinner 1 child beef dinner 1 child turkey dinner Great portion sizes for both adults and children. I like how the veg and gravy are bought out in separate bowls and we could all help ourselves. Great selection of veg and all of the meat was great! We then had puddings: 2 orchard crumbles (crumble of the day) 2 chocolate brownies 1 profiteroles 2 vanilla ice cream 1 kids chocolate brownie Again, all puddings were delicious. Value for money was good for what we had. We all agreed that we will definitely be returning soon! Thank you for a lovely Sunday!

I've heard a lot about this place. My chum Christopher Nott often performs here. I thought it was a social club, but it's actually a pub, and a very nice pub too. It's conveniently situated next to Dudley Zoo so if Chris isn't singing you can always sit outside and listen to the animals instead! The service here is first class. I'm a red wine snob and many places serve up pre opened bottles that are days old and taste like vinegar. Barmaid Kayleigh was excellent- So friendly and helpful, and quite happy for me to sample a little wine before she poured a full glass- That is proper good service! She is a asset to the pub. The crusty cob was wonderful with just the perfect amount of cheese- and it came with salad too. All in all a fantastic pub with great food, top service and friendly clientele 👍♥️🙂

We went with friends on Saturday evening to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. We had not been before and would like to say the food was excellent and value for money. However the staff were superb, attentive but not intrusive, helped with any minor issues, spoke and listened to us. It was a lovely experience, would recommend it and will be back soon. Lovely to find a little gem so near to home. Thank you.

I had lunch here. The food is very mediocre—basic and uninspired, like something thrown together without much care. Hygiene is clearly not a priority either; the place could use a serious clean-up, and some furnitures could use a replacement. Overall, not a great experience. One plus side is that it was very quiet as it is Adult only pub and there wasn’t many customers at the time.

Tivi Ale is a good little bar that is unfortunately let down sometimes by it's strict rules and it's table bookings policies. It offers decently priced beers and ales and has a good selection of snacks and cobs. The outdoor seating is perfect on a sunny day. It has all the potential to be the heart of community. Unfortunately my family is no longer welcome due to a misunderstanding about table bookings. But all that aside, it's a nice bar.

In an area that's lost most of its pubs, Tivi-Ale is a welcome addition. A microbar with a great atmosphere, good selection of cask ale, gin, lager, wines and spirits and a good snack selection. Tivi-Ale is a single room pub, therefore can get very busy of a weekend. It's worth getting in early for a seat if you can.

Went last night had a great night first time coming here had a GP on the karaoke me and Clive will definitely come back here again great beer great service never had any food but it was late very friendly atmosphere loved it

Fantastic staff sad to see it’s the final night come up from Warrington and currently in this pub and it’s amazing entertainment is great and place is class when it’s taken over with new owners hopefully you can come here and review it with new owners. Go in every 2 weeks place is sometimes quiet other times packed out, all the bar staff are friendly and will assist you with anything always smiling and laughing with customers and that's what you need a pub, has a great selection of beers and spirits, if anyone is looking for a great night out come here, they do great food as well. The jukebox is really difficult to use when you had had a few, but meh their's a dart board, pool table and fruit machine what more do you need 😂😂

A well kept and intresting pub , had sports on and a nice beer garden.very busy pub but we didn't need to wait at all, staff were on point and efficient. A great choice of real ales 🍺 kept extremely well.

Lovely local pub , cosy , friendly atmosphere, sports on TV, music , food is also available. There is a smoking area outside which has a roof and seats with tv, and inside there's a lovely open fire 🔥 they offer a wide range of ales which my dad likes trying and they're reasonably priced, so I meet him there , it's a lovely pub with great staff . Very good .

I come in every Wednesday to work on my laptop; staff are always helpful and offer hot drinks. the small room has always been offered to me for extra quiet time, but i've always enjoyed sitting in the main room by the fireplace with the rest of the regulars enjoying their laughs!

Fantastic classic old pub of gornal full of character. Great atmosphere no matter what time of day all week long. The staff are always happy to have a chat and look after everyone. Kids are welcome too. Highly recommend to all.

This pub was our dads all time favourite . After he sadly passed away we went to see Heather to ask if we could have his wake there. Without hesitation Heather said yes and gave us all the help we needed. It was a great send off and we are sure our dad would have been proud. Heather and her team did a fantastic job looking after us. I would not hesitate to use this pub again.

Full of wannabe CHAV's and kids running riot with the parents not giving a care in the world.. the toilets are disgusting, my partner had to ask for toilet roll as there were none in hers and they gave her a loo role as if it was behind the counter like a drink. By the time we left after our one and only drink that same toilet roll was in the process of being whacked all over the floor by a feral kid!! Would never set another foot in this place if you paid me!!!

What can I say. If you want an excellent rock music venue to hang out in, this absolutely excellent place is for you. A few mins walk from The Halls venue in Wolverhampton, it's the ideal place for a beer and chat with friends before and after the gig. Landlord is lovely and a very quick and efficient service indeed. Amazing gothic decorated place to be. Well be back for sure!

There were no beers on tap when i went in both times. Amazing decorations for Halloween. Certainly a lot of effort went into it all. Can get extremely busy so makes it hard to move around.

This was a brilliant pub with a fantastic atmosphere, reasonable prices and an amazing D.J. The decor is very gothic and if you like rock/metal/alt music this is definitely the place to come to. There is every type of look of people you could see from obviously rock dressed people to office staff looks to current fashion trends. Everyone was really friendly, chatty and welcoming. It was a great night and I'd recommend giving this place a visit!

Popped here before a gig at KKs. Great old school metal boozer. Friendly bar staff and top music. Only frustrating thing was jukebox was cash only as didn't have any on me.

What a gem! Great metal/alt pub with a small dance floor to flail wildly one in a vague attempt at dancing (other forms of dancing are possible but I can only talk from personal experience) It's got cool aesthetic (and a mysterious Dark Room which was closed but has great signposting) and a DJ that's happy to play requests and friendly bar staff. Overall I was hugely impressed and can't wait to visit again.

This is the best bar in the city, hands down. Though it's a 'biker bar/rock bar' there's never any drama here, the staff and the customers are all incredibly friendly, the drinks are very well priced, and you can always have a good night in here

The cocktail's are brilliant. The organisation of staff not so good. Said the karaoke speaker was broken. But wouldn't kick the previous customer's out the room even if we was supposed to be in there. The previous people said they was playing on it to get free drinks. Load's of free shots. But we did get compensated so not so bad. Drinks are strong though,

Booked for an upgraded bottomless brunch, when we arrived we were told that the food was to share rather than per person which initially was fine but when the food arrived the pizza was tiny and freezing cold, the same for the fries and the dough balls we're uncooked. We told the manager about this and were given some free hot fries for free and offered to re make our food which was nice of her but unfortunately the food experience was terrible. On the plus side the drinks were amazing & so was the service from the manager. I wouldn't eat here again but il be back for drinks, & of an evening music is good also.

Me, my boyfriend and my friend went for late birthday celebration as mine and my friends birthday are a week apart. Natalie was our waitress for the night, as we had a bottomless brunch booked and she was amazing, she had great service and made the night really enjoyable. I would definitely come here again

Did a bottomless brunch yesterday and have to say it was the best bottomless I have ever done! The value for money was unbelievable, none of the cocktails were watered down, after nearly every round of music you were given a shot and there were so many to pick from! The pizza and dough balls were lovely and the amount of food you get it brilliant, we actually took some home! We will definitely be returning with a bigger group, I’ve done lots of bottomless brunches and we all agreed, none are as good as Bohemians!

Bottomless brunch is a must. Every cocktail was made perfectly. Food was delicious too! Monica and lee were fab and really friendly. Would highly recommend.

So we only booked Bohemian due to the fact Slug and Lettuce was closed for a refurb. When we arrived it was busy, went to the bar to tell them we had a booking , our booking slot came and went, eventually someone spoke to us. There were people already at the table and they were moved off, they cleaned it and sat us down. 15 mins went by and we hadn’t even been asked given our drinks yet, but our food came really quickly. We got our first drink about 20 mins in , then the server disappeared, we are now waiting again for someone to come and ask us our drinks order but there was no one around , so we go to the bar to request drinks, only to be told it has to be done at the table. A lady from another table came across to us and gave us a bucket cocktail which they had been given as they had complained about the service so was given 4 buckets as a gesture of goodwill, this helped as we still were waiting for our 2nd drinks order we were over half way through a 90 min bottomless brunch. When we did get our cocktails details were missing like the Percy Pig sweet, Starbursts and they had loads of packs on the shelf, no meringue on the lemon meringue , plus they kept running out of glasses. We booked this as there isn’t many other places in town that do Bottomless Brunches, but never again i’d save your £35 as you won’t get served No organisation , poor management , not even the staff knew where our server went , she turned up after and didn’t even return to our table to see if we were ok. The staff look fed up

Food is hot, tasty and lovely attention to detail. Even the salad was better than most! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the pub had a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. Waitress was pleasant and helpful. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a lunch so much and will be returning to try more of the menu.

We visited the Seven Stars in Sedgley for the First time today for a meal out. Being Disabled I was pleasantly surprised to Find the the Disabled parking bays next to the ramp leading into the main entrance. Inside it was well laid out into several eating areas so we easily found a table then ordered our meal at the bar. We were served by a very nice young lady Laurie-Jo, We both ordered the fish and chips. Shortly after getting back to our seats the meal was served by a member of the kitchen staff he was very helpful and attentive. The meal was very well presented and cooked to perfection. While eating our food we noticed Laurie-Jo Thoroughly cleaning the empty tables thereby maintaining the pristine condition of the interior of the Seven Stars. Overall we enjoyed our meal and visit and can thoroughly Recommend the Seven Stars. We will visit again in the near future.

First visit to this pub was Christmas Dinner with the inlaws. Very nice food hot fresh and well presented. Drinks good value and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

It was unexpectedly quiet for a Friday night (maybe because it was hot!), but I had a catch up with old friends I hadn't seen since my last visit to Sedgley just over a year ago, and we had a wonderful get together. What a great pub. Always lively. Bar staff always down for a chat. Good music good vibes. That one lad that works at the bar, Sasha I belive his name is. Is amazing. Been there in the past great pub I'm friends with Jake Hall (Owner) also went there in the past aswell back when Rock Zombie was a thing very different when I went to privously but very good unfortantly Dudley as a are I don't really like the pub is probley the best place to support live music and staff and people are quiet friendly , I'm not even a people person , Haha

Went on Saturday and was really disappointed. Was told one price for drinks when I asked, but after the drinks were poured was charged an extra £1 a drink. Also requested a song, and was given a piece of paper and physically wrote it down, only for it not to be played in the 4 hours we stayed. Overall not what we expected from the venue given the reviews and posts.

Really nice place with great beer and the young couple running it get top marks from my wife and I.Hopefully they will be successful in making a good living from running it.The Plum Porter was especially good.

Absolutely can not fault this place! We hired the room for a works party and they really delivered. The provided a bug room, buffet and DJ and it was great. The room was nicely decorated, there was plenty of food and the DJ went all night. The staff are super friendly and helpful and even wrapped up the leftover food for us to take home!

Price reductions at certain times in the day: 12-7pm, if my memory serves me right. I had a BFG and a cheese and onion cob for £5.45. Nice original features throughout the building and a view of the castle. I would go back back in the warmer months and check if there's a beer garden.

Good cooked fresh food. A great range of real ales and real ciders. They sell the regular mass produced commercial drinks too if that's what you like. The men's toilets are huge due to the history of this unique public house. During my visit there there was a nice roaring coal fire burning away. It's only a short walk away from the main bus station in Dudley so an ideal location for transport links.

Popped in for some food and had a wonderful meal, all fresh and home cooked food, really tasty and way better than usual pub grub. Service and staff are great, clean and tidy bar and great value for money. Thank you!

We have just had a fabulous meal at the Bell Inn Kingswinford. We went for the three course lunchtime special and every course was a fabulous plate of food. Special mention to Mason our fabulous waiter and compliments to their fabulous chef. Thank you 🥰

The food and service was excellent at a reasonable price including drinks and a tip. I would recommend the scallop starter and duck to follow although both my friends steaks looked very good.

Had the most lovely meal with a friend. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Made my booking online through the website first time I've been to the bell. We went as we had heard through others the food was so nice. They did not disappoint. I had the chorizo pasta very tasty big portion. The only downside I had no room for pudding :) but maybe next time. My friend had the garlic prawns. Thanks again the bell for a lovely evening.

Really nice place. Good food. Reacquainted ourselves last Sunday 22nd Feb 2025. Wow what a fabulous Sunday lunch. Good old fashioned service... In a very good way. Hot plates. Hot food. Served to help yourself to the plate. Beautiful beef, veg, Yorkshire pud. A whole gravy boat of gravy between two. Lovely waitress, nothing too much trouble. Have resolved to go at least once a month from now on. AND creme brulé. What else could you ask for........

My local for years, but it’s really took a dive. Tables and furniture are worn out and aren’t clean. Sticky table tops. quality of the drink is really poor, and sometimes the selection is limited. You can smell the toilets in the lounge. I question the hygiene of the place.

A recently refurbished pub newly mentioned in Camra Good Beer Guide. Its tastefully decorated in a fairly modern style. The tables are custom made in light wood and the rectangular ones have pipework as the legs. All the beer I tried was spot on. There is a beer garden which is illuminated at night. It is well lit which may disturb some who like darker pubs but I liked it and it fitted well with the style. A hidden gem in Dudley!

Cobs were advertised on bar but there wasn't any .the barmaid was nice this is a holdens pub and it is right by the brewery and outdoor.at the moment not always open in the day .I think there are plans so fingers crossed as it should be a flagship pub .hubby has been in since had a cob it was delicious.

It is on the grounds of the brewery so was expecting a very good drink, I chose the mild,I should of had the bitter but never mind ay, we live & learn, bitter next time I Pop in.

My local. Brew their own beer and sell on premises. Brilliant pint. Great land lord. His dog wanders around looking for a bit of fuss. Great place to come for a great pint.

I popped in the other day and the lady behind the bar with the dark hair was incredibly rude dismissive and seemed to have an awful attitude towards everybody. Honestly if not for the rudeness I would recommend but she truly soured our experience

Lovely traditional pub and brewery tap, and the real ales are understandably excellent. Pictured below is the excellent Golden Glow, which was crystal clear and as fresh a pint as you will ever find, absolutely top draw! Lovely seating, nice and warm and a very friendly place.

A fantastic pub with lots of character. Never had a bad pint in here. The staff and regulars are very friendly. Holden's beer is always good, but a special mention goes to their Black Country Lager, which is better than a lot of the watery premium stuff sold elsewhere. There is a pool table here.

We had Sunday lunch here for the first time in April 2024 and since then another 5 or 6 times. It has always been excellent, £11 or £12 for 2 different meats, roasts and mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, broccoli, cauliflower cheese, yorkshire pudding, stuffing and gravy. Served piping hot and cooked perfectly. The staff are very friendly and the tables in the conservatory are spotlessly clean. Normally have a couple of golden glow too. Cannot fault it at all. Thank you and we will be back.

Popped in for an afternoon drink and stayed for Sunday dinner with my family. It smelled delicious and couldn’t stop staring at other people’s dinners! Absolutely belting grub and great service! Love that the food came out hot and was homemade by the friendly chef/manager! Great atmosphere will come again. Nice pub, hidden away from passing traffic but a welcome find. Being a Holden's pub it had even more pulling power. Had a couple of pints and the Black country special ale excellent. It's got a digital duke box which is good fun if you are in the mood for some of your own tunes. Beer garden excellent, car park excellent. It's a nice place. Haven't tried the food, but plenty being eaten so positive. Will certainly pop in again.

Just reopened and the holden beer is greate. Nice and friendly landlord and landlady. The bar staff are nice to.

Fantastic food can't praise enough everything we had was perfect. Service was brilliant there were 12 of us and we were all served at the same time. Nothing was too much trouble for them. . Thank you to all the staff for making the night a really wonderful one. Will definitely be visiting again

We go as s family most weekends and always order the Cajun which I can honestly say is delicious. it's a lovely cost eating area. Well worth the visit. We went for Christmas and absolutely delicious. Can not fault anything.

Had a fantastic meal and the service was second to none, we were treated specially, we didn't ask for it but minaz and the staff were great, however at the end of our meal we got the third degree, one of the staff said we had been there before, we hadn't, as if that mattered anyway, it was as if we had been treated specially as a first time customer, we were, but don't expect it the second time, totally confused us, we don't feel welcome returning although we were thinking of using again, not sure now, truly fantastic food though...

Very tasty food Brilliant chef, new menu has lots of variety and spectacular choices of food with amazing taste. The pub has a friendly enviroment with friendly staff members I was really impressed with the selection of drinks and how it is very different to how it used to be, even the food on the menu had lots of selections and made me want to try everything.

Another good Black Country Ales pub. I had a pint and half and a good cheese cob. I asked for mustard and waited 10 minutes for it. Probably best to leave a jar near the cobs

Delightfull place never knew existed. Like all BCA pubs it keeps real ales and serves them well. Last time seen Brew 11 must have been 30 odd years ago, had to have despite only pale ale choices. Its also dog friendly.

Quiet busy when we got here. Do a nice choice of real ales but not much else. Couldn't even get a glass of wine. Sat on a chair that was soaked through with beer so my trousers were soaked. Pub emptied quite early and lady behind bar was putting chairs up by 10.30.

Went to the Monday night quiz. A good quiz with a modern twist as it's all done on a tablet to avoid cheating. Something to get used to and you need to be very quick with your answers as extra points are awarded to the first team to answer which doesn't seem quit fair to older slower minds. A nice atmosphere though with friendly staff and good beer selection.

First time eating here. Since I visited last time, the place has had a re-vamp and looks miles better. Was excited to try the food as I’m a huge fan of Indian food. Staff were lovely and welcoming, couldn’t fault the service however the food was not up to scratch. Ordered a shahi paneer curry and when it arrived they have brought out paneer tikka shashlik therefore it was sent back. When the curry arrived, it was pretty much a bowl of double cream with food colouring and paneer…. Very bland and couldn’t stomach the amount of cream in the dish. I have had this dish at many places and it has never looked or tasted like this one. Cheese naan was also not up to scratch and left my fingertips bright yellow which was strange. A real shame as I was very much looking forward to trying this place.

First time visiting this place with my husband and granddaughter. I’m not gonna lie I was apprehensive from the outside but now I’ve been I will 100% be going back. I was pleasantly surprised. Really lovely, friendly staff and great prices for food and drinks. I had a curry and my husband had the wings and chips with sauce, he’s a really fussy eater and he really enjoyed it so must be good. Great portion sizes too, I really enjoyed my curry and took half home for work the next day, really enjoyed it and as said previously I will be going back. Cheap and cheerful, really good value for money. Friendly atmosphere and suitable for the whole family

Came here for the first time since the kitchen opened last week; with my brother, his partner and my fiancé. The revamp looks amazing, fresh, and new, the pool tables have been refreshed also. Staff were very friendly and helpful and were more than happy to help with any questions or issues. I had Rogan Josh which I thought was nice and the portion was big. My brother and his partner had the wraps and THEY WERE HUGE!! I tried some and they were amazing, I kinda wished I had one tbf. Gave it 4 for the food as I felt it could have come out quicker and had a small issue with missing items but apart from that I will definitely be back again as I understand the small issues just to be teething pains for the new kitchen addition.

Wow! Had Chicken Balti, Garlic Rice and Bombay Aloo.....Absolutely amazing the Chicken fell apart! A lot of work has gone into doing the place up and its so worth it. A lovely place xx. Mo will be looking down with a smile on his face xxx

X2 tikka massala cheese Nan and massala chips absolutely lovely my kids are very picky and they ate every bit without a single complaint .definitely recommend

Overall, having dined in many times here is a combined review all in one. The service and atmosphere are excellent. You’re always greeted with a smile. The atmosphere is nice, doesn’t matter what room you sit in, they’re all well presented and cleaned well. The food The large mixed grill is £26. When you consider the other local establishments this is on the high end of the scale. You would therefore expect to get more than 1 lamb chop, more than 3 chicken wings. It’s mostly all chicken tikka. The taste is lovely so nothing taken away from that. The curry’s and naans are delicious absolutely faultless - just get them cooked to your preferred taste. All in all a definite gem of a place!

Good food. Lot of vegetarian options. Huge place. Lot of different areas for everyone to choose from. There was some confusion regarding ordering and our starter and main course came together. Altogether it was a good experience.

Had a great experience in the past so decided to visit with my work colleagues after work. There was some interesting incident outside near to the parking with fire brigade dealing with some incident which we have had no idea about. Parking today was quite easy to find as it wasn’t very busy and the awkwardness of the parking spaces is somewhat challenging at times. When we entered there was no one at the Host table and waited for few seconds till a very pleasant lady who might have been on a break or has not started her shift stood up from one of the tables and greeted us and gave us a nice corner sofa table in the main hall of the restaurant. It was quite quiet at the time, maybe around five tables in all. There were no menus available on the table and no one to ask for so i stood up and got some what take away looking menus and asked one of the staff working in the kitchen if these are the menus and he said: Yes. We looked at the menu and I would say it wasn’t the most extensive menu but had enough options. Dishes were on the pricier side as out total bill came up to £67.00 approximately excluding drinks, which were for around £7.00. All Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and ready to help us. Once we ordered we have to wait for good 45 minutes for the starters, I have had a feeling that they were not ready for shift. And was one of the issues I think they can get better at it. When the meal came it was all quite fresh and hot and portion sizes were good. Out main course arrived on time though and again was quite tasty and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though we were sitting next to the music speakers we were able to converse easily and it wasn’t overpowering. Toilets were quite clean. Apart from the speed of service and price it was overall good visit. Maybe preparedness, speed of service and price of items is something the restaurant can focus on a bit.

Great food! Vibrant atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Good service by friendly and polite staff. Definitely go back. Be aware they do show sports events on the many tv's. Had a kickball match on when we visited, which we had no interest in so check before going.

Had a table booked last Saturday afternoon/evening as it's the local for a couple of family members. The drinks choice is fantastic, plenty of room and large seating areas in different areas of the pub. When the food came out,wow!! Amazing taste and quality and kept us all busy for a while! Owner and staff all friendly and helpful and will definitely be making a return visit for more of the same. 10/10.

Absolute favourite! Been coming here the last couple years and can't believe I haven't left a review already! Always our go to for a chilled " out for food and drinks" night. Service is always good, and I have never waited long for food to come out. Honestly, I've lost count of how many times I've visited, and it's never disappointed. Their garlic naan is the best I've ever had personally. Each to their own, but I love it. The clay pot lamb curry is delicious. Rich and flavourful, without being too much. The mixed grill is always great, and I like that you can swap wings for extra tikka since it's our favourite. The lamb samosas and fish pakoras are great too! Love it all.

Nice venue where I attended a pre-wedding function for a friend. Nice food. Loved the desi dishes. Lamb curry or was it Curry lamb! Food was nice and plenty. We had to get a doggy bag, supposedly for the dog - but to sumptuously eat again at home.

So, I had a curry club meal here today that was less than Good. The staff are very good but no one checked if my food was ok ? I hadn't got the heart to complain but the naan bread was ghost like and could have cooked for another 5 minutes and the poppadoms were dripping in enough oil that could have kept a diesel taxi ticking over for a few minutes. I have included some pics. Come on The Clifton, you can do better.

Never been in even when a cinema till 78. No dark ales on, just the usual relentless pale ales can get any where. Kept well and served well. Like most Spoons, its packed for good reason, the prices are cheap and passed to customer.

Had a family Christmas get together today. The staff, service, food and atmosphere were second to none. Thank you Rachel, River and the whole team for making it so special. Nothing is ever too much trouble and no matter how busy you all are you’ve all got a smile and make people feel welcome.

I wanted to share my experience at this pub.The food was hot not warm hot when it came to the table.The service was second to none I couldn't have asked for better service.The staff were amazing so polite respectful and so helpful.And in this day and age that is very special.The pub was clean and it flowed.Big shout out to the manager who came round the tables and asked if everything was OK.The atmosphere in the but was lovely and I will go back again.

Drinks are good at night but the breakfast isn't great. Came out cold and just wasn't enjoyable, got the staff to blast it in the kitchen to heat it up but still wasn't the best however they gave a full refund and were helpful. Food did come quick and staff were nice. I've eaten here previously and it's been fine it was just this time really

Whether it be morning, lunchtime or evening. Breakfast, coffee with school mom's, lunch or drinks of an evening this place is welcoming, the staff work hard and the atmosphere is fantastic, the regulars are friendly and service is excellent. My daughter Frankie loves the staff Sarah is her bestie 💕 Keep doing a fantastic job 👏 👍

Good to spend time with family and friends, parking is a bit limited and different to other pub where you register you car, here you must pay.

Lovely pub, beautiful beer garden and great for the kids. Really friendly staff and food is really nice! Music and entertainment on a weekend is brilliant and always have a good night! Mel, Luke and team have done amazing in the Apple Tree

A friend recently told me The Apple Tree was under new management so I thought I would give it a go. What a difference, cleanliness has improved tenfold, staff were really friendly, food was delicious and well priced. I will be back.

Have been in today , they have a festive event where they are giving away Christmas treats , amazing to see they also have a giving tree Such an amazing way to give back to those less fortunate that ourselves Will definately be taking some tags and getting some presents and I do recommend that if you are in a position where you can give back then do The new owners are doing amazing and giving back and it’s amazing to see

Want to say a massive thankyou to Apple Tree and all the staff for making my friends baby shower special and amazing, all the decorations were put up for us free of charge and the amount of effort they put in was amazing. Was so happy with how it turned out and would highly recommend this pub for any event! Food is lovely as always, staff are so friendly and nice and prices are good. Was so easy to book with a simple message over Facebook with no hassle, they answered all my questions the same day and provided an amazing service - so thankyou so much xxx

Came here for.the family fun day, was a great atmosphere ,.the kids absolutly loved it. All.the inflatables were at no cost to people.visiting We did have food. We have the burgers. Really nice, good quality 👌 enjoyed them . Staff are really friendly, and management couldn't do enough for us Would definatly recommend 👌

Staff seemed friendly enough when approaching us with food and drinks. Although one of the barmaids ignored my boyfriend and just glanced at him when he was standing at the bar waiting to be served. Starter took 40 minutes to come out and then by the time the mains come out it had been 50 minutes since we ordered, we would have ordered more drinks while we waited but not everyone can afford to these days. Drinks and food are expensive, toilets aren’t very good. Toilet seat came off as I went to use the toilet, people sitting at tables vaping which I assume are work colleagues coming in on days off as they were in the kitchen and behind the bar or they were just really close friends with the staff. Also I ordered two Pepsi via the QR code on the table, three barmaids were just standing there chatting away so it was clear they ignored my order and I had to go up and show them my receipt. After waiting 10 minutes. You want to improve? Start by answering my messages when I ask about job vacancies and not leaving me on read, I find that quite rude.

So happy this friendly pub has reopened!🍻 Great pub with 10 hand pumps of various ales/beers. As before, they have a range of whiskies and now a new wine list. New food menu (yet to try) of pies and pizza, too! Decent beer garden.

My wife and I visited one Sunday early afternoon. We were aware the pub had been recently renovated and reopened. What’s a fantastic renovation. The front bar is a beauty to behold, like the rest of the pub, it has been renovated to highlight the original features when the place was first opened in 1897. Physically a great success. We had a traditional roast beef and Yorkshire pudding accompanied by Bass and red wine. Service, beer, good, atmosphere and a wonderful building. Everything is here and we recommend.

Lovely old survivor hanging on in redevelopment area. Tricky to access at present owing to road works. Well worth the effort. Many beers on hand pumps, several rooms. Close to Museum and University.

This is a fantastic pub, and clearly the lower ratings are undeserved/false. Fantastic selection of real ales, a lovingly restored tiled pub with outdoor seating area. I didn't try the food but the menu looked good. Go for the real ale, stay for the genuine vibe.

Very nice pub very good refurbishment left the way it built years ago,nice to see the old tiles on the walls. Would be nice if could select your own music 🎵 say a jukebox in the cellar and a select box on the wall. Anyway that's my opinion!! Staff polite and nice customers plenty of room outside with table/benches did not see much of a menu which would make this a great place to eat when you take it's location 🍺🍷 first time I've been down the Woodman for years I use to live around the area and when there quite often meet some old friends from long ago Great Place😄👍

Live in Dibdale St and used to go down fairly regularly but not been for a while. Nice pint of Guinness and for a Marstons pub in a prime location off of Himley Road, it is criminal they do not sort out a regular chef as surely, Marstons and especially the great people that run the place are losing out on so much footfall. Sort it out Marstons!!!

New owners are fantastic Dave and Imogen are very welcoming and working flat out to get this beautiful pub back to what it should be, atmosphere is great and everyone is friendly heres to the future

My husband and I visited this evening (Thursday) and took advantage of the 2 steaks and a bottle of wine deal. It was fabulous, steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were plentiful. Really tasty, nice atmosphere, great service. What more do you want on a Thursday evening for £30. We will definitely do it again.

Probably one of the best funeral buffet i have ever been to. Food was fresh, delicious and absolutely delicious. Pork pie is definitely worth a mention. Staff are attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend

Recently held a wake here for our Dad and would like to express our sincere thanks to Jemma and the team for making it such a special occasion. Family and friends were full of praise for the delicious food, helpful staff and comfortable surroundings. Nothing was too much trouble. From the welcome we received on booking the wake and the helpfulness in making sure our Dad had a special send off we can't thank you enough it was just perfect for the occasion in every way. The food was terrible and dry. I had the mushroom and ale pie, and the pastry was so tough. My daughter had the turkey. She took one bite and couldn't eat the rest. The cauliflower cheese was undercooked. It's such a shame as I tried this place after reading the reviews 😕

Brilliant little pub with such a warm welcome. The staff are very friendly, quick and attentive. The beer is always good, with a good choice of Holdens and they have a cool little Gin section too. Regular live music always makes for a lovely atmosphere.

A lovely Black Country pub with a friendly atmosphere. Although they don't serve food, some free rolls were offered, relating to the Black Country festival. The entertainment was superb - well, my son was one third of Pipelines, whose repertoire was most melodious and harmonious. Thank you! Dog friendly too 😀

Our first visit to this pub and it turned out a great night . It was Holdens 110th anniversary so Holdens beer was on special offer which was a bonus . Little Juke, a local band played which was great for us being music fans. Holdens scratchings go very nicely with the beer. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Toilets are exceptionally clean. Overall we had a super evening and will hopefully return sometime in the future.

Brilliant pub, super friendly and feels really homely. Owners and staff are great and Saturday night live music always creates a great atmosphere. (There's also a super cute doggy) Seriously, you need to go there immediately!

A Back Street pub,(formerly "The Reindeer") someone has tried to up-market this place, not really worked, although its not too bad, for this area, it has competition from a popular wetherspoon establishment 100 yds away.

Just move to the area and tried this real ale pub - live sports shown - some of the patrons were a little rowdy but obviously having a good time.

Lovely beer garden. We took our 2 young kids in, had a nice welcome. Good selection of ales/lagers. Definitely stop in again. Had my favourite spicy ring crisps so was a bonus😋

This is a warm and friendly pub full of character. The beer is well looked after, and the landlord and staff make you feel vey welcome and are only to happy to accommodate you if they can. Would highly recommend a visit.

Thought I’d give this place a try. What a mistake that was. The attitude of ‘the manager’ was absolutely disgusting towards patrons in the venue, zero respect towards paying customers who he clearly feels ‘are beneath him’. Disgusting, shall not be returning to a venue where it is apparent people are not wanted and spoken to like they are walking into a 1950’s national service barracks.
