The Old Talbott Tavern, established in 1779, is a historic gem that has welcomed travelers for centuries. This traditional tavern not only offers down-home American fare and live music but also boasts the world's oldest bourbon bar. Guests can savor exceptional Southern cooking, including local favorites like Kentucky hot brown and Southern fried chicken. The tavern also provides accommodation, but beware of ghostly sightings – it's rumored to be haunted by figures such as Jesse James.
Had a brief wait for a table but sat at the bar until ready. Seated in an old room with lots of character. Ordered drinks and food with prompt service. The food was better than expected. The steak was great, mashed potatoes needed some butter. Whatever they lacked the steak made up for. My wife had the bourbon walnut chicken which was amazing. May have liked it better than the steak. Definitely worth the try if visiting!

While in town, couldn't pass up stopping by and getting a bowl of the Tavern's famous Burgoo. Delicious! And a very nice cold, fresh side salad. Good service. Good food. Nice gifts like bourbon chocolates and hats, candles etc to choose from in the lobby. They say that Jesse James stayed here and George Washington and more, as it was the first stage stop west of the Allegheny mtns. A lot of history in this building which was restored after it caught fire.
Ed S — Google review
Love the history of Talbotts, along with Jesse James backstory (He stayed here and had a shoot-out upstairs). The food was good (not great, but very good) My wife had the fish, which was a little dry and I had the pot roast which was nice, but nothing special, the room was great, so much history, and the Service super nice! I am not a fan when you have to pay extra for bread, but I guess it is becoming more normal. I still think this is a must for anyone visiting the area, and I would repeat. Do ask where you want to be seated, the first room was dingy, cold, and loud. We asked to be seated in the corner room, which was SO MUCH NICER as you can see in the pictures.
Christian S — Google review
We came for lunch. Wonderful server, Danielle. Tried some new foods we have heard about like the scotch egg. Crunchy and delicious with the mustard. Food was fresh and hot when served. The selection of seasonal food and drinks gave plenty to select from. The atmosphere is amazing with the heritage filled rooms.
Dani G — Google review
Stayed recently on a short trip to visit some distilleries in the area. The location was fantastic and the room was very comfortable. The price of the room included breakfast, which was decent. Sadly we got cold food on our second day (even after it was remade it was still cold). We had some other issues with the room during our stay (housekeeping related) which we brought to the attention of the desk staff twice. Both times we were assured that they would discuss with their manager and someone would reach out to us. No one ever did. Over all the property is very nice and likely we would stay again. It was just disappointing that no one seemed to truly take ownership for our experience there.

What a very cool Inn and Restaurant! We loved walking through looking at all of the history in the inn. And the restaurant is yummy. Delicious food, great atmosphere. Ask for Kennedy. She will take good care of you.
Peggy M — Google review
Came here for dinner! Fall Menu was excellent! Beer cheese app was tasty and so was the Apple Cider mule! Had the fall special of chicken spaghetti squash and it was great. Great atmosphere, great service. And the self guided tour after was cool!
Sue P — Google review
The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. It is walking distance to many of the museums and distilleries. We were there on a Saturday night and being next door to the tavern we were mildly concerned it would be noisy. We didn’t hear anything. The free breakfast is good and made to Order. You can’t go wrong staying here.

The Rickhouse is a subterranean eatery located in the basement of a former boarding school, offering a menu featuring quality ingredients and seasonal produce. The restaurant boasts an extensive collection of local bourbons and is known for exceptional steaks and a two-inch-thick 24oz porterhouse pork chop served with sweet bourbon apricot chutney. Additionally, there are lighter options such as sandwiches, soups, chicken, and fish dishes.
Another gem in Bardstown KY. Great spot for a hearty meal after a day of distillery tours. Ribeye was great. Mussels we large and meaty. The Mac and Cheese was also very good. Wish we could have tried more. Great spot.

This resturant is located in the lower level of the city county building in Bardstown. Very unique experience walking into what seems like a bourbon cellar. The food was matched to the atmosphere. The special ribs with bourbon bbq sauce melted in your mouth and had very little fat. The double baked potato was massive and filled to the brim with bacon ,cheese and sour cream. Topped off with fine wine and a complementary chocolate brownie for dessert to celebrate our anniversary. They even put some roses in our table just fir us! Highly recommend visiting this place if you are in Bardstown, KY. But make a reservation because they fill up fast.
Diane J — Google review
An absolutely outstanding experience! The Rickhouse exceeded every expectation. The food was phenomenal — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen takes real pride in what they serve. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and had that perfect Kentucky charm that makes you want to linger a little longer. A huge shoutout to Aly, our server, who was truly second to none. She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. It’s rare to find service this genuine and professional at the same time. If you’re anywhere near Bardstown, make The Rickhouse a priority — it’s a must-visit!
Steve — Google review
Visited The Rickhouse recently and had a mixed experience. The service was a highlight—staff were friendly, attentive, and made the visit enjoyable. However, the food was disappointing, lacking flavor and creativity, which brought the overall experience down. On the bright side, their bourbon flights were solid, offering a wide variety of choices that any lover would appreciate. If you're here for the drinks, you’ll likely have a good time, but don’t expect much from the menu.

The Rickhouse was a group favorite this weekend!!! Our waitress took wonderful care of us. We had a phenomenal table by the windows. The old fashioned were marvelous! The spinach artichoke dip and warm bruschetta was amazing!! We tried a wide variety of entrees; filet, ribeye, blueberry salmon, mushroom ravioli and steak pasta. The steaks were all seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ravioli and great cream sauce was a favorite. We left full and headed downtown to taste our way around Bardstown. Definitely agree with assessments that this is the best fine dining in Bardstown!!
Joseph B — Google review
The best sirloin I’ve ever had! Looked beautiful on the plate, cooked to a perfect medium rare with amazing flavor! Others at the table had the half chicken with the barbecue sauce and the scalloped potatoes and the mushroom ravioli. Everything looked and tasted amazing! The server did a great job from start to finish. She even came over and offered to take a few pictures when she saw us trying to take a selfie! The rolls she brought out to start were delicious with the cinnamon butter. And she unexpectedly brought a brownie for dessert since we were celebrating a birthday. Great all around dining experience!
Jessica M — Google review
We were not impressed with this restaurant. Service was not good, server was not friendly and the food was very slow in coming out. We ordered 2 appetizers and received 3. When we mentioned this to the waitress she apologized and but credited only 1/2 of 1 of the appetizers. (Even though we didn’t eat it) The pork chop was good but the rest of the was not great and it was not hot when it came out. In my opinion it is an overpriced venue for what they have to offer in food and service!
Keith — Google review
This place is the absolute best! Came in super late (about 45 minutes till close) and the whole staff was happy to have me and my folks for an absolutely fantastic dinner. Sarah and the rest of the staff were super attentive and kind. The food was amazing and the drinks were top tier. The vibe of the place was so cool. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a high class yes fair priced dinner out.

Mammy's Kitchen & Bar is a family-friendly restaurant in Bardstown, known for its American comfort food and casual atmosphere. The place offers hearty breakfast and lunch options, with generous portions of classic dishes like Country Breakfast, blueberry pancakes, and bourbon chicken sandwich. With barnyard-themed decor, this family-run establishment has been serving traditional Southern cuisine for many years. Visitors can enjoy a warm Southern welcome while indulging in flavorful plates such as Bourbon pork chops.
This is a great place to eat with really good food! I know everything has gone up but the prices seemed a little high for what we received. I wish there was just one piece of french toast you could order instead of two great big pieces. The little three pieces of bacon was not worth $7.00 in my opinion. The sweet tea is fabulous! We always stop here and I don't mean to complain as it really is good food.

Service and atmosphere are awesome. Food is not so much. I had the Bloody Mary, that was awesome. I had the country breakfast sandwich that was absolutely ruined by that cheap / Kraft type cheese. It’s a shame cuz the bar tender was great and the rest of sandwich was high quality and tasty. Also it was Friday morning and there was still a wait for a table. The lady at the front desk did not let us know that we could sit at the bar we found out ourselves! If the owner is reading this PLEASE use better cheese!
Felix S — Google review
Wait was only about 20 to be seated. We ordered the fresh pork rinds for an appetizer and the were still hot and popping when they brought them out! Delicious! The place is very coolly decorated with a mish mash of rural farm versus modern settings. My wife ordered the Hot brown and thought it to be a might bit salty and I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with homemade potato chips which was really good. They have a county store but we didn’t get a chance to go in before they closed. The only real turn off was the men’s restroom was very small and unpleasant for a bar and restaurant of this size with only 1 stool and 2 urinals (which were both out of order). Waitresses were very attentive and friendly!
Bob B — Google review
Periodically, we visit Mammy's Kitchen for lunch or dinner. Pictured are the Hot Brown and Bourbon Glazed Grilled Chicken. Both entrées were delicious, but the sides were a bit disappointing. I ordered the home style potatoes and the portion was very small. The waitress added tater tots because there were so few. The mac & cheese portion was very small as well. The prices are higher when compared to similar style restaurants. The cheapest appetizer was fried pickles for $11.99. Most meals were $18 and up unless you get a sandwich or burger served with chips. The restaurant has a unique country atmosphere, but some updates/repairs are needed. (Booth seats had splits/holes) The service was average, but we have experienced that every visit. (Slow to get food and refills) If you are in the area, give it try and see what you think.
Mark B — Google review
A wonderful bar that the wife and I happened upon while visiting Bardstown. The breakfast I had, the "Hot Brown" is one of the best breakfast dishes I've had in awhile. The little store they have there is cute and has lots of little trinkets and fun treats. I loved the environment of this place and it's a long bar that seems to stretch quite a bit from the front restaurant to the back. I will say that the hostess that greeted and sat us seemed to be having a bad day that may have translated into being a little less than welcoming. Not a detriment to the overall enjoyment of the food and drinks though.

Wow… what a find!! This place was simply great.. stopped in with our pup for some lunch and were very impressed with the atmosphere, food and great service. Our servers were Abbey and Amanda, who did an amazing job. They have a great selection of bourbon for you sampling pleasure, and the food was delicious.. we had the bourbon burger and the grilled chicken sandwich.. both came with home made kettle chips and were very tasty. Abbey even brought out a nice piece of bacon and water for Memphis Belle who enjoyed the attention and treats very much. We had lunch on the front patio, which has ample seating and umbrellas if needed. Parking in the back with ADA accessibility. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed the staff… do yourself a favor.. and get yourself there for a really great experience.

What an amazing breakfast place! We ordered the fries chicken eggs Benedict with extra crispy hash browns and we were positively blown away. Katie, our waitress, was wonderful and nailed the order. I’ve never had such perfectly cooked hash browns and the hollandaise was fresh and had that perfect lemon hit. Highly recommend!
Bob S — Google review
My friends and I came here for lunch after the heaven hill distillery tour. It was a recommendation from an employee there and I must say it was a great one. I ordered the Chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Each of them were delicious. The chicken was fried and seasoned very well and went extremely well with the conrbread pancake. The mashed potatoes and gravy were real good and the mac and cheese was good. The only thing about the mac and cheese is that the noodles were bland. I really like that the menu was on a newspaper. You dont see that everyday. My friend ordered the bourbon grilled chicken and he seemed to really enjoy it. My other friends got burgers and they enjoyed that as well. A few of the guys got the bourbon bloody mary... sad to say it was not a hit. No one liked it. It was quickly replaced with old fashions and I had the Kentucky bourbon barrel stout. I liked it. The food here is definitely worth stopping in for. It will definitely hit the southern food spot if you are looking for one. Our hostess was very nice as well.

Kreso's Restaurant is a spacious, family-owned European eatery located in Bardstown, KY. The restaurant offers a warm and private ambiance, making it perfect for a romantic date or a night out with friends. Specializing in delectable Italian cuisine, the menu features dinner specials such as salmon steaks, stuffed mushrooms, and their house specialty of chicken and pasta.
One of my go-to’s when I’m in Bardstown. I’ve been going to this place since it first opened 30 years ago down the street closer to the courthouse. Consistently one of the best plates in town. Tried and true. Perfect for a quiet dinner or a large family dinner.
David S — Google review
This is a decent restaurant in a historic building with character. The service was wonderful and our entrees were good but not memorable in any way. We shared a Caprese salad, which was lacking the basil, so it started with disappointment. I had the Weiner Schnitzel and my wife had Kreso’s chicken. The ambiance in the dining area and bar is wonderful, but the men’s restroom was dark and dingy, and the trash was already overflowing when they had literally just opened for the evening. The staff were great and I really wanted to love this place, but with right at $80 spent with none of the food standing out as terrific, I can’t honestly give it 5 stars.
Brian P — Google review
Wr enjoyed a wonderful dinner with our friends Saturday night. The owners are wonderful people and so incredibly accommodating. We all had something different and we enjoyed them all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Jennifer B — Google review
One of the best dining experiences in Bardstown! We highly recommend the Kreso’s Chicken and the goulash. The chicken marsala is also superb.
Jason C — Google review
We had a great experience here. The friendly staff gave us very good service. The menu is small but everything on it looked amazing. Would highly recommend the Corden Bleu and the Kresco’s chicken. We will definitely come back!
Cathy K — Google review
What an absolute gem - you'll never meet a kinder group of folks making some of the tastiest food in KY. I had the salad, schnitzel, and goulash and ate way too much table bread 😅 can't wait to be back next year for KBF!
Blair A — Google review
Attempted to dine there on Saturday. I checked the website and verified the hours. The hours showed they were open from 11:30 to 2:00. I was disappointed when my friend and I got there around noon, only to be told they were closed for lunch, but they'd be open at 5:00. We double checked the website again and it showed that they were open. If you opt to close your usual dining hours, you should change it on the website and keep the doors locked since the door was unlocked when we got there.
Mindy R — Google review
We went there after the bourbon festival. The chicken schnitzel was not at all fried like I was expecting some sauce and boiled chicken. My wife ordered chicken marsala again boiled and sauce was terrible. The noodles were terrible. I ordered a beer and my wife a glass of wine as you can see in the photo she at some point had a fly in it and almost swallowed it. We complained and the owner was very rude basically saying it not their fault. When I said I was going to post it he offered me $50. ended up leave no cost. and here is the post.

Food & Drink
Willett Distillery, a family-owned establishment founded in 1936, offers a modern visitor center and distillery tours on its historic grounds. Visitors can explore the property, learn about the distillation process, and sample a variety of whiskeys before taking home a signature glass as a memento. The distillery also provides specialty tours for small-batch bourbon enthusiasts and features products like the elegant Willett Pot Still Reserve.
One of my favorite tours, and happens to be one of my favorite products as well!! Our tour guide was amazing his knowledge and personality definitely made the tour great. All the pours we had were tasty and the gift shop is full of amazing finds. The staff as a whole were all great thank you willett!!
Benny — Google review
My dad and I were in Frankfort visiting distilleries and we came across Willett Distillery. We decided to make the quick 45 minute drive over to Bardstown. As we walked in we were promptly greeted and signed up for an available tour. Jacob and his trainee Jasmine led our tour. Jacob did an outstanding job leading the tour. We could feel that this was definitely a family business and not a corporate money trap. We really enjoyed how the tastings were provided throughout the tour instead of rushed in at the end. You could also personalize your tasting by choosing between 2-3 items at each taste. We even got to keep our tasting glass. After visiting over 15 distilleries and being on multiple tours, Willett was our favorite. I would recommend reserving your tour in advance to ensure you don’t miss out on this distillery!

We had so much fun on this tour! Mary was a great guide. Lunch was absolutely AMAZING! We were so excited when Mr. Even arrived for lunch on the patio. What a wonderful story and amazing tastes and bites. Highly recommend!
Jackie F — Google review
What an exceptional place in a place where it is so hard to stand out. They are so successful in not only the exceptional product they produce, but the tour was unique, with a small family-owned feel. Our tour guide Matt was incredibly friendly, with a deep knowledge and personal understanding of the process. We especially loved the tasting being throughout the tour, which led to a better appreciation of the product, rather than the 5 or 6 half ounce pours over fifteen minutes at the end of the tour. The property and buildings on the tour were beautiful and well maintained, and the area was so picturesque! Thank you Willett Distillery, you've found a customer for life!
Courtney L — Google review
Visiting Willett Distillery is an unforgettable experience for any bourbon lover. Tour was so fun - the grounds are beautiful and steeped in history. You can feel the family legacy in every detail—from the charming barrel houses to the artfully designed tasting room. The pours themselves are exceptional—smooth, complex, and full of character. Whether you’re a seasoned whiskey enthusiast or just curious, Willett offers a genuine, welcoming glimpse into Kentucky bourbon at its finest. Book a reservation at the restaurant in advance!
Elizabeth B — Google review
If you ever have the opportunity to do the Estate Tour at Willett Distillery, don’t hesitate—it’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Getting the chance to fill a barrel yourself is something you’ll never forget, and the access you get throughout the tour is incredible. You’ll see and taste some wild and rare stuff you’d probably never get your hands on anywhere else. Nick and Mason, the creators of the tour, were absolutely amazing—super knowledgeable, passionate, and full of energy, which made the whole experience even better. Our group even got lucky and ran into Drew in the rickhouse, which was an unforgettable highlight. The lunch afterward was fantastic as always, and a perfect way to wrap up the day. A special shoutout to Luciano, the bartender, who was awesome and made the post-tour drinks a great time. All in all, the Willett Estate Tour is something every bourbon fan should experience at least once
Alexander K — Google review
Beautiful grounds, cute gift shop, but THE FOOD! You need to eat here. Pictured is, no exaggeration, the best egg salad sandwich in the US. Everything on the menu is good, but the egg salad sandwiches and the brussel sprouts are leaps and bounds above the rest. Get reservations but it is worth it because I will think of that sandwich for the rest of my life.
Kim B — Google review
This was our first stop on the trail and I couldn’t imagine a better start. The tour gets you so close to the production - you can literally touch and taste it! Shea was an awesome tour guide, the property is amazing, and the bourbon is, of course, second to none. My only complaint is we didn’t schedule enough time to truly enjoy the patio bar!

Amazing experience here. Kelly did a great job waiting on us. Wines lean towards the sweet side which was fine by us. Strawberry & Niagara were my favorites. The Supreme pizza was also very good. Definitely worth a stop!

It was a small restaurant but the atmosphere was pretty cool. They have a traditional restaurant set up with a bar in the back. The food proportions are legit so bring your appetite. We had several pasta dishes and the pizza was amazing (Note: If you're ordering a pizza for yourself, make sure you get the personal size). I highly recommend it. Great food

Food was ok. Starters are good. Thin crust pizza needed more flavor. I do like the atmosphere, but will not visit again. I want to visit other locations in this area.

Pizza was amazing! The stars are for that alone. Wine was good but on the sweeter side (I did a wine sample and all 4 were sweet). Service was lacking though. The server had to be reminded multiple times to bring us standard items such as napkins, forks, and to go boxes. Note we were there on a Sunday at 3 pm and the place was very empty so no excuse of being busy. She also knew nothing of any of the wines so we had to guess what to try- this issue could have been avoided had the wine menu described the wines but there's not one single description of any wine. Weird for a place that calls themselves a winery....

We had a very nice experience and the staff was very friendly. The buffet was very tasty and filling. They were even able to have a gluten free pizza that my wife enjoyed better then other places we have eaten. We would recommend this place for a nice date night place or even a family dinner. We will be going back again to enjoy another nice dinner and nice atmosphere. Thank you to Stacey and all the staff for a wonderful experience today.

Amazing staff that excels above any other establishment by far, that I have ever stumbled across! Amongst the days of wearing facial coverings that is hard on people who work in the public eye, the hot kitchens of restaurants and behind the scenes, the short staffing in the workforce, these ladies and gentleman really know how to go above and beyond to make an experience an experience, rather than just another day of eating out. Knowledgeable of menu items and the bar spirits, recommended an appetizer that was the best meatballs and cheesy garlic bread imaginable, and the wine was one of a kind! Made very different than any other wine process! I say it’s worth a trip if your local or near local or are just happening to be visiting the bourbon trail. Don’t hesitate because you will truly miss a hidden small town gem!

Went here for our date night and enjoyed it! It was a Saturday around 6:30 and the wait was 15 minutes. We waited upstairs in a nice little area. The food was awesome - got the pretzel for app and smash burgers. The Hot Brown was good but is more of a gravy than Mornay cheese sauce, depends on how you like your hot browns. Without asking, they comped it and brought out a smash burger which was amazing. Service was awesome, atmosphere was great and love the option to eat outside. Highly recommend!

Had a great experience overall! The setting was beautiful and the appetizers were absolutely delicious. The chicken was flavorful but just a little on the dry side. Service was mostly great—friendly and attentive—though one team member was a bit slow to communicate. Still, the vibe and quality made it a worthwhile visit. Would definitely come back and try something new next time!

Waiters weren’t paying attention to all guests and completely forgot our drinks. There was one shorter girl working both the host stand and bussing tables that was the best employee in the entire restaurant, they need more of her! Sad I didn’t catch her name to list it here. We tried the classic smash burger and the cod sandwich. Burger was basic and tasted good overall. The side of coleslaw was pitiful and felt weird on the plate with how small it was, like they were trying too hard just to add something to the plate. Cod sandwich was fish forward, in a good way, I liked that it wasn’t slopped with sauce. They have 2 different old fashions so I thought maybe 2 different bourbons, they both use Buffalo Trace (which is great) and figured we would try something else so we grabbed the “pineapple highball” and the “give me something sweet” Both were a great choice and different from the norm. Had to wait about 30 minutes for an inside table as the outside was too busy. Seemed more like the wait staff was too busy talking or checking their phones to keep the tables moving. Would we go again? Maybe grab it to go or show up before the rush to be outside. Plan to wait for service though.

We had an amazing experience at Scout & Scholar. We were able to be seated immediately and the entire restaurant was clean and well decorated. Our server was attentive and kind when explaining the most popular dishes. The pretzel app is a MUST have. The beer cheese was a table favorite. We will definitely be back during our next trip on the bourbon trail.

We went here for dinner on a Thursday evening after a tour guide at Makers Mark recommended the place to us. We were told there was about a 25 minute wait and that we could wait/hang out upstairs. The upstairs area is for private rentals and has a few bar games + tvs. This is a really unique restaurant space that we enjoyed hanging out in! Once we were seated, we ordered a couple beers which were OK (not our favorite). The Food - We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and shared the fried chicken sandwich. I eat much less than my husband and we wanted to ensure we didn't have leftovers because of our itinerary during our trip. The stuffed mushrooms price was a little steep for 5 very average sized shrooms. They were good, but nothing to brag about. The chicken sandwich was good and exactly what you'd expect. The crispiness was perfect and not overly battered. Favorite part (weirdly) was the tater tots. They were perfectly crisp. Definitely recommend checking this place out while you're in Bardstown.

Extensive selection of craft beer on tap. Very good flavors described well from the house brewer. Had one tasting that was labeled incorrectly by the waiter and he argued with me. But it was good fun. Meatballs were good but didn’t pair well with the two sauces. The watered down Thai was disappointing. Still a fun atmosphere.

Great place for some tasty beers and food while in the Bardstown and surrounding area. They’re making their own craft beer - a d quite well. The variety of food options were impressive and very good. And the people were solid as well. Some cool artwork on the wall, too.

Hands down the best smashburgers I’ve ever had — crispy edges, juicy center, and packed with flavor. The service was top-notch: friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. And the cherry on top? A great selection of local drinks that perfectly complemented the meal. Can’t wait to come back!

The Bar at Willett, located on the historic Willet Distillery site in Bardstown, Kentucky, offers a charming atmosphere and delicious food made with fresh ingredients. This popular spot provides a wide selection of appetizers, entrees, and specialty drinks. Visitors rave about the cocktails and exceptional food like the egg salad sandwich. The attentive service from staff members like Jason adds to the overall dining experience.
I would give it 10 stars if it would let me! We sat at the bar with Alex as our bartender. She gave us great recommendations for food and drinks. She made the best Hugo spritz I've ever had, courtesy of Luciano, and my husband had a 9 year rye that he LOVED! The food was also incredible. Highly recommend the cashews, gnocchi, and brussel sprouts. This is a MUST DO when in the area. Do not miss! Ask for Alex!

Food is incredible! We sat at the bar and had an absolute blast, super friendly with great recommendations for both food and bourbon. Probably the best service I've received sitting at a bar, can't recommend enough. Order a few items and share with the table, everything is top tier. And get the cheesecake, it is divine!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The bar at Willett is a must-visit! The cocktail menu features innovative drinks that showcase their fantastic bourbons, and I loved the signature cocktail I tried. The small plates were equally impressive, especially the egg sandwich—hands down the best I’ve ever had! To top it off, the cheesecake was the most delicious I’ve ever tasted. The knowledgeable bartenders were passionate about their craft, enhancing the overall experience. The combination of delicious food, expertly crafted cocktails, and attentive service made for an unforgettable evening. I can’t wait to return!

We had heard a lot about the food at the Bar at Willett Distillery, and we really looked forward to it! Someone wrote: "... the episode for the best burger? Well this is the burger. It burger lived up to the hype." ... so couldn't wait! Well, it seems they change up the menu, and it wasn't on it. Bummer! But they had other nice small plates, so we settled on the cheese plate (crackers, pickled beets, grainy mustard, marmalade and salami). It was nice, but was a little skimpy on crackers and salami, although the onion marmalade was amazing. Also, the atmosphere was wonderful up in the bar. The room is great, and just small enough to be cozy, plus you can sit outside on the wrap around balconey. Lastly, the staff was so friendly! If you’re going to Willet distillery for a tour, you must treat yourself and dine at The Bar at Willet.

I made specific plans to be the first seating on a Saturday. As our waitress showed up she immeaditely asked if we wanted the burger, which was a definite yes. We also ordered brussel sprouts, carrots and drinks. Drinks and sides were really good. The burger... well if you ever watched "How I met your mother" and the episode for the best burger? Well this is the burger. It burger lived up to the hype and the staff were fantastic.

Another fantastic lunch at the Bar at Willet Distillery. This is the second year in a row we've stopped at this distillery and had lunch at the bar. The bar makes great cocktails and the food is delicious. My husband had an old-fashioned and I had a bees knees, which was perfect. We, of course, had to share the famous egg salad sandwich. The sandwich has its own Instagram page. It’s famous! We also shared the cheese plate, the oyster sliders and the beef tartare. The beef tartare was a generous portion and so fresh. It was served with crispy potato chips. The oyster sliders were unique and delicious. Plump fried oysters with cabbage and remoulade on Hawaiian rolls. And who doesn’t like a cheese plate? Accompanying the cheese was crackers, pickled beets, grainy mustard, marmalade and salami. They could’ve put on more salami as it wasn’t as generous as the cheese. If you’re going to Willet distillery for a tour and tasting, which I highly recommend, you must dine at The Bar at Willet as well.

Lovely location! The burger was absolutely worth the hype. The homemade pickles and sauce on the burger are perfect.

Probably the best restaurant at any distillery in Kentucky. If you go on a Saturday as soon as they open, get the burger. They only make a small number per day. It’s worth the trip from Louisville or Lexington

Bardstown Bourbon Company is an award-winning distillery and a popular spot for sipping on local bourbon. The Kitchen & Bar offers a unique dining experience in a historic setting with a modern twist, serving up Kentucky dishes made with local ingredients. Visitors can also explore the area's distilling legacy at the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History and stop by the Old Talbott Tavern.
What a great experience. We did the core tour on Sunday April 27. Josh saw I had a knee brace and asked if I needed to use the elevator and needed a golf cart to the Rick house which was a big relief. He did an awesome job presentation. This was of my favorite bourbon tours which I will always remember with my wife. Great tastings. I purchased some bourbon from the nice gift shop.
Nelson K — Google review
This review covers both the bourbon company and the restaurant from the point of view of a first time visitor. However, this is the 19th distillery my husband and I have visited, so we are not new to bourbon. When you pull into the parking lot, it’s obvious this is a modern distillery. The grounds are well manicured and the glass front rickhouse draws visitors’ attention. We were greeted promptly when we entered and visited the gift shop to purchase a lapel pin as is tradition for us in every distillery we visit. The clerk never stopped talking to her coworker or looked at us while we completed the purchase. There is a tasting bar near the entrance where they sell half ounce pours. We took advantage of getting a flight of 3 collaboration pours and it was well worth the $25 as each bottle represented retails for $150 or more. Thankfully, the Core Four tour was a great experience. The tour starts with the tasting which is different from other distilleries. We sampled Bardstown 4 origin products before visiting other areas. The tour requires the use of stairs and one room we visited was 109 degrees but we were only there a few minutes. Our tour guide Amber was very knowledgeable and did a great job. The tour ended with thieving from an experimental barrel which was a nice surprise and had wonderful flavor. Our guide compared the thieved tasting to Green River full proof. After the tour, we decided to stay for lunch. Buyer Beware - if you want to sample a pour, get it from the bar near the entrance. In the restaurant, you get a much larger pour for 4x the price. My husband got a smashed burger and fries and I got a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. The food was very good and the fries were similar to fair fries and delicious, but these meals were overpriced for what they were. We ended up purchasing the Stave Finish bourbon, which is a distillery only bottle. We enjoyed the afternoon at Bardstown and overall recommend you stop here during your visit to the Bourbon Trail. Cheers!

We did the core 4 tour and it was great! This is a very technology advanced distillery which is different from a lot of other distilleries we've toured. We really enjoyed the story and tour. Highly recommend checking it out.

We had heard SOOO many great things about Bardstown Bourbon, that maybe our expectations were too high coming here to eat. We didn't do the tour, but just came to see the bar, giftshop, and get the amazing burger! So.... the Brussel Sprouts appetizer lived up to the hype, AMAZING. Also had the Bourbon Peach Milkshake... also AMAZING. Now for the main course, my wife had the shrimp fried rice, which was very good... but I had the smash burger... sad. It was way overcooked and dry, and could barely eat it. How disappointing. It seems they change the menu all the time, the famous good burger was removed and replaced with this dry patty thing with not taste. If anyone reads this there, here is a tip: Don't mess with what works! Put back the great burger that people were raving about, and leave the Brussel sprouts alone (which I heard they are changing too). Afterwards we had a flight of bourbons, and found one to take with us! Overall, nice place, but I hope they don't try to be too fancy. The room where you dine, is a bit cold, sterile, and noisy, and I would likely not come back here to dine, especially since you don't know what you might find on the menu! ... (oh, BTW, the pecan bourbon pie for desert, together with the milkshake, made up for the burger! which is why I still give the place 4 of 5 starts!)

The “new kid” on the block. This is an impressive facility. State-of-the-art facility with technology coupled with some real people that have a knowledge and know-how to create some of the best newer bourbons in the world. If they’re not available in every state yet, they will be. Definitely should be on your list while in Bardstown.

Lunch at Bardstown Bourbon Bar & Kitchen. We have dined here many times. Menu is limited. Bourbon is a show stopper especially the new Hokkaido Mizunara!! Blackened shrimp was rich with flavor, a subtle spice, and loaded with large blackened shrimp. However, the rice was a tad undercooked. KY poutine appetizer was fine but somewhat bland for traditional poutines. Korean chicken appetizer was the best. BBB&K is a must stop.

We stopped here for some lunch. The food was really good, as was our waiter, Will. We also walked the grounds. We didn't take a tour, as we didn't have any reservations for that, but we were able to see the rickhouse where a lot of the bourbon barrels were kept.

BJ's Steakhouse is a spacious and modest restaurant and bar that has been serving steak, seafood, pasta, and sandwiches since 1984. While it may not offer a gourmet dining experience, it provides great food and friendly service at reasonable prices. The family-owned establishment boasts some of the best steaks in the area as well as award-winning spicy chili.
The restaurant was recommended to us by a local. Always a good sign! The food was excellent. I had a bacon wrapped filet with sauteed mushrooms and onions. It was prepared perfectly. Our waitress was adorable and went out of her way to get things right. I would highly recommend it.

Do not eat here! The food was not cooked well at all. Whoever is working the kitchen does not know how to make prime rib. Very tough. Seemed like they took a ribeye and touched a grill and put on a plate. Very rare. They need to stop with the green ranch dressing, it just seems weird and NO one needs dye in there food. Pasta was tough and not cooked well. Sorry but I don't have much good to say about the food. Server was nice. You know its bad when kids won't eat their food. Health rating at door was low, 94. That should have been m6 sign to not enter had I seen before I went in.

Food was excellent. One day had the BLTs. Plenty of bacon and cooked just like we like it. Tried them for dinner. Ordered the NY Strip Steak. Mine came a bit undercooked, however, Dorothea, our waitress quickly had it rectified. Salads were fresh and their steak fries delicious. Highly recommend going here if you want a good steak at a decent price.

Bacon wrapped Filet was amazing. Large rm for get together was nice. Server was great. Don't recommend the prime rib though, was tough, not the slow cooked melt in your mouth you'd expect. Stick with the steak and you're golden. Sides and appetizer sampler were tasty also. Will be back.

We have ate here several times in the past it’s only a 20 minute drive for us to get there last time we ate there wasn’t the greatest experience with the food but the other times were great. I would still recommend this place and the tangerine margaritas are amazing.

So my family and I have come here several times over the past year. Initially, it was a good experience. However, lately it seems to be changing. I always have a good experience with the servers but the wait time has become terrible. Last visit, for example, was over an hour before we received our food. The worst part is that they are not giving the kitchen a chance since they are not giving wait times at the front door. I have it on good authority that the ownership tells management "If they walk in the door, you seat them". It is a deceptive way to not lose customers due to long wait times for tables. It's also a good way to lose customers for good.
Robert S — Google review
The steak was amazing! Cooked perfectly. Steak fries were good, just not the hottest. Upgraded the dinner salad for $2, and it was very good and a lot bigger than I expected. Cheese sticks were average. Onion rings were hot and probably really good if you like beer battered onion rings. I'll definitely go there for steak again.

The restaurant features an upstairs bar and prides itself on serving creative and wholesome dishes. Despite facing staffing challenges, the staff at Toogie's Table are accommodating and provide outstanding service.
Toogie’s Table is an absolute gem in Bardstown! From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The cocktails are equally impressive—well-balanced, creative, and a perfect complement to the meal. If you're in Bardstown, Toogie's Table is a must-visit. Our Toogie Experience: Booking a reservation was fast and easy. The restaurant even let us come early (swimming really does build up an appetite). The atmosphere was calm, dim lighting with little light votives on each table and just a few windows open with natural light coming in. Very relaxing & romantic. We were sat right away with window seating. My only complaint was that there were several flies on the inside portion of the window but they never flew on to the food. The table ordered country ham fritters, deviled eggs, and the crab cakes. The country ham fritters were yummy but a must share as it’s pretty salty, 2 of us found the deviled eggs very tasty but 1 of us felt like the eggs were prepackaged eggs and had a fishy taste to them. The crab cakes were good. Our entrees were less than enjoyable and we were really disappointed. I ordered the meatloaf and while the meat was moist and tender-the “sweet tomato “ topping was basically just spaghetti sauce. I felt like I was eating a pile of spaghetti without noodles. Mashed potatoes were cold and I had the gravy tasted like packet gravy. My friend ordered the fried chicken and it was probably the best thing on our table. Cooked perfectly and the skin had the best crunch. Her potatoes were the same-barely warm. We both agreed that the side veg was delicious. My other friend ordered the gnocchi and it was the worst of all. The gnocchi was horribly over cooked. she had it topped with grilled chicken and it was burnt and had the smell of dirty dishwater. It was completely inedible. I will say the waitress and the food manager were completely accommodating and had amazing recovery. They took her meal off and Gave us a free dessert. The service was great but we wish we would’ve had a better meal experience.

We came in for our wedding anniversary. We drove a hour from Louisville. At first, we weren’t sure it was open and the “Open” sign wasn’t illuminated, even though we had made reservations. We were the first customers of the night. We ordered the panko deviled eggs. It was different. We like the yolk to be a little creamier and could have done without the pickle, but it was a one time experience. My husband ate the beef brisket. The first bite was a little dry but it was tender as he cut into it. The mashed potatoes were good. I ordered the pork chop, bone in, with “local seasonal vegetables”. The pork chop had a nice grill flavor and char. Towards the bone though, the meat was very pink, but that’s kind of to be expected without over cooking the chop. My vegetables were a mix of yellow squash, red peppers and green peppers with seasoning. At first I thought I was getting a fajita. It even smelled the same. I was not a fan of them. They did give us a bread pudding with “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate. It was good, and that was as very sweet of them. If we were already in Bardstown doing something, we would return for apps and cocktails, but to make a hour trek again, we will pass. Cute place decorated for the holidays and the staff was nice.

They have recently changed head chefs and have all new menu items. We sampled several appetizers and entrees, and everything was wonderful! All foods are locally sourced and unique. The business owner and head chef both talked with us and were very friendly. Some of our favorites were the crab cakes, hush puppies, salads, pork chop, and gnocchi. The Cornish hen and the meatloaf were both amazing! If you can, save room for dessert! We will definitely be coming back!

Absolutely fantastic food and service. A manager that encourages and they deliver superb service. 20 out of 10 recommend. They seated 13 people and served us together with very different plates. All food was fantastic. I overheard the manager give his kitchen team kudos for the excellent job they did after we got our entres. Our server, Amy, was fantastic and the manager, Jimmy, assisted with the rest of the dining room while we had her focus. THAT is how you keep a happy team ready to serve with excellence!

Everything about this experience was amazing. Long had I thought there were no good places to eat in Bardstown, but Toogie’s Table proved me wrong! Our server Amy took fabulous care of us, ensuring we had a good experience, and even the hose, though I didn’t get his name, checked on us several times throughout the meal (he even gave us a pointer on how to use our leftover beer cheese on a grilled cheese!). I definitely will be coming back!
Birbby — Google review
If I could give zero stars, I would. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere and the service was fine, but the food was the most disappointing part of our visit. Two of us ordered the chef’s special steak, cooked to medium rare, but it was nearly impossible to cut with the dull steak knives provided. The “roasted” potatoes were over-blanched, mushy in texture, and burnt on one side. Another guest ordered a salad that came with stale, untoasted bread, along with macaroni and cheese that had no flavor and dry, tasteless brisket on top. The last dish at our table, the gnocchi, was sadly the best of the bunch—even though it was overcooked. Overall, every dish lacked seasoning and flavor. Instead of a chef’s touch, it felt like we needed an entire spice rack just to make the meals palatable. To make matters worse, the meals were overpriced for the quality served. Unfortunately, this was one of the most underwhelming dining experiences we’ve had. We won’t be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to others.
Vance D — Google review
My husband and I were so looking forward to a lovely dinner, and were so disappointed. Our server was excellent as was the hostess. My salmon was very good, but can't say the same for my husband's burger. He ordered it medium rare to rare. Round 1 it came out well done and dry. He sent it back. Round 2 we were shocked that it came back not rare but raw. I mean barely light brown to red raw on the outside and completely raw on the inside. Our server proactively got it removed from our bill. After reading some other reviews it seems like there is a problem with the kitchen. I wish I had read the reviews before we ate there.

While traveling on a bourbon tasting tour, I stumbled upon Bluegrass Tavern, an incredible establishment located along 31. Whether you're in the vicinity or not, I highly recommend making a stop here to enjoy some delicious food. Their pulled pork sandwich accompanied by bourbon-infused baby carrots, green beans, and sweet tea was an absolute delight. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, with everything being prepared fresh upon order.
Very neat place to stop. Bring change for pool tables! Great atmosphere! Food is amazing. Burgers are not pre-made and they are soooo delish. Also get the loaded hush puppies OMG 😋

Disgusting! To start, they were out of near everything, including chicken wings. I went with the pulled pork special with no bun and it looked and tasted like dog food for $14. She informed me that they just ran out of Mac and cheese so I went with baked beans. My wife went to the bathroom and they were out of toilet paper. I had three bites of my food and told the bartender that it was absolutely vial. She ignored me. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. 🤢

Don't judge a book by its cover! This place was great! We got there close to 4pm. There were some locals at the bar and that was about it. The menu is more than just "bar food" it's got a menu with good choices along with some fun choices. They also have a good challenge. I didn't try it, but I will next time! It is called the "Fry Way to Hell" burger. Don't pass up the loaded hush puppies! The burger was great!

Was looking for lunch while traveling and saw this place on the map. From the outside, you might think it’s just a bar but it’s a fantastic restaurant too. There’s even an area for kiddos. Alexander Bullitt's Brewery & BBQ is a casual cafe known for its delicious BBQ dishes, including the best BBQ brisket served with sweet potato fries and a variety of handmade sauces. In addition to the mouthwatering barbecue, they offer a selection of local craft beers to complement your meal. Following the COVID-19 shutdown, the restaurant has introduced new menu items such as smoked bratwurst and wagyu beef steakburgers.
Great place to get some good food! Our waitress was really nice and she made the experience even better. Do yourself a favor, go to this place for some flavor! I will be back and would recommend. Prices are very competitive Food is very flavorful I left full, very generous portions sizes. The fries are to die for! (Pro tip- if you like your burger burnt or no pink inside I would specify how you want it cooked!)

We went here the last time we came to Bardstown also. The meat is super juicy and tender. I wasn't a fan mac n cheese tho. They used the queso sauce for it. 😕 We got the pulled pork queso fries and they were delicious! My husband got a burger and he loved it! We will definitely be back!

I guess you can call things that have not been smoked "BBQ"?!! I am putting pictures up so you can decide for yourself... The one picture with meats & sides is a sampler for 2 that is $29. Its supposed to be pulled pork, pulled chicken & brisket. There is ZERO smoke flavor at all! While I am not a meat expert, I am almost certain that this is NOT brisket. Every brisket I've ever had, has had 1-2 inch meat fibers - not these long fibers (it reminds me more of pot roast in texture & taste). Also notice... NO SMOKE RING AT ALL! Needless to say, all 5 of us tasted the platter & didn't touch it again. We did not even doggie bag it. So we left 7/8ths of $30 plater behind because it was so poor. The rest of our meals were burgers, pork chops & chilli. There was nothing to write home about on any of it & the price was on the high side at $90+ for 5 people. For my part (and my family's), although we live in town, we won't be back.

Alexander Bullitt's Brewery & BBQ came out of COVID19 shutdown with a mostly new list of delicious menu items. Many more "Manly-Man" choices like SMOKED BRATWURST and incredible STEAKBURGERS made from that crazy marbled WAGYU Beef. As someone afflicted with Gout I have to stay away from those kingly treasures. Lucky for me they also added a bevy of seven different flavored bone-in chicken wings to their new menu. I took advantage of their "Tuesday & Wednesday $20 All You Can Eat Wings" to sample every one of those fine flavors. I started with the COCHUJANG, a traditional Korean sauce from fermented chili paste. It was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The second flavored wings were SWEET THAI CHILI, a little sweeter than the COCHUJANG but with its own enjoyable Asian flavor. Then I moved to the more American flavors of HONEY BOURBON BBQ and CAROLINA GOLD BBQ. Both of those were sweet and could hold their own without any additional tinkering in RANCH or BLUECHEESE. The CAROLINA GOLD BBQ had a pleasant smoke aroma and a delicious mustard flare. Next came the SWEET BBQ and SPICY BBQ. I'm not a big fan of traditional BBQ flavors, but if you are, these would make you come back for more. Finally I had the BUFFALO WINGS. Now mind you, I have driven to Buffalo New York more than once to try the original and I am glad to tell you to save the gas and drive to Bardstown instead if you want the best BUFFALO Wings. These were far better but a lot closer! My only complaint is that Alexander Bullitt's Brewery & BBQ has some of the best RANCH Dressing I have ever tasted but it is not as thick as I like it. The flavor wasn't affected as I dipped the BUFFALO WINGS in for that preferred enhancement, but the drippy mess made me a sloppier than normal eater. C'est la vie. I soon forgot my spotted shirt as I finished the ALE-X that was included with the price. This BULLITT'S CRAFT BEER was the perfect accompaniment as I sat in the Bourbon Capitol of the World. It's a balanced Ale that has been aged in a Bourbon-Soaked Oak Barrel. Needless to say, I enjoyed my meal immensely.

I have visited this establishment twice. The first time was a great experience, that is why I returned. However, on my 2nd visit I was extremely dissatisfied and give it 2 Stars. I ordered the 3 meat sampler it is described as "a platter piled high with pulled pork, pulled chicken and smoked brisket." Normally when I get brisket it is sliced or in chunks and because it wasn't described as "pulled" like the chicken and pork on the menu, I assumed it would not be shredded....but, I was wrong! So the problem starts with: 1. Having to order buns as a side dish. Typically with all the shredded meat, buns are included. It was an additional $2 for 2 buns. 2. No utensils for a takeout order of $20...how am I supposed to eat? 3. When I opened my food box, the meat was all thrown together. I ordered extra pork in place of chicken, but it looked like chicken, not pork. There was nothing to differentiate each meat from the other, it was all thrown together. There should be some separation. The brisket is shredded just like everything else. Look at the pic, can you tell the difference? I really feel like I got some chicken, which I don't eat. I ended up giving it away🙁 4. I had the baked beans the first time I came, so I got them again. They were good both times, however they were not consistent. The first time they were extremely thick, no liquidity. This time they were more soupy with additional meat, fat and onions (I'm assuming) that were not present the first time. I was surprised, because they were much different from the first time I ordered. To be fair, although this visit was a 2, my first visit was a 4. That's why I met in the middle to give a 3 for the combined 2 visits. The first visit I had the pork tenderloin. It was tender and flavorful. The bartender was nice and it was a great first visit. The only other suggestion is although the mac n cheese is unique with the spice, I had to pick out the red and green chillies, because it's a little too spicy for me. It would be nice to have a non-spicy option. ***I do notice that responses are given to all the positive reviews, but nothing to the reviews that are expressing bad service, or subpar quality of food. I hope that you hear me and please take into consideration my experience. I was excited to come back and patronize your establishment. I had already started telling people about you guys. Hopefully the next time will be better.***

100% worst dining experience. Came in with 15 people, with reservations, and food took 1.5 hours to be served. The food, every plate was 100% cold. Server was very nice and kept drink pretty well filled. Cooks are literally incompetent. Burger burnt to a crisp, Mac and cheese colder than room temp. After telling the server the food was cold she said "ok I'll tell the cooks." They all knew the food was cold. There is no chance I'll ever return and will tell everyone I know to do the same. There's very little times that I leave a 1star review but the was this experience was all together I wish there was a zero star option. Large groups have a 20% gratuity as well, so ,why would they care.

One of the best places that we have stopped. The pulled pork tacos were outstanding. Had a side of green beans with bacon, don't know if I'll ever eat regular green beans again. Wife had tug he wings which were very good. Service was fast and friendly, even with the place being packed.

They had great service, really nice location, the food was quick to come out and it was delicious. The coleslaw was amazing and the beer (I had the lager) was good too. Honestly this is a great place to hop into if you just want to step out of the street and enjoy a cold one or have a burger. We went after a long hike and this was just what we needed.

Wings and Rings is a contemporary sports bar that offers a diverse selection of wing flavors, along with other traditional pub fare and special deals for children. Situated just steps away from historic landmarks, a golf course, and Old Kentucky Home, this establishment takes pride in serving their freshly prepared wings. They have recently joined the ongoing chicken sandwich competition by introducing their own delicious version. The sandwich features crispy yet tender chicken with well-seasoned juiciness complemented by flavorful slaw.
I had the pleasure of being served by Heather during my recent visit, and she truly made my experience exceptional! From the moment I arrived, her warm smile and outgoing personality made me feel welcomed. Heather's kindness and attentiveness went above and beyond my expectations. Not only did she offer fantastic recommendations from the menu, but she also checked in on me frequently to ensure I was enjoying my meal. It was clear that she genuinely cares about her customers' experiences. As a bartender, Heather created amazing cocktails that were not only delicious but also beautifully crafted. Her enthusiasm for her work shines through in every drink she makes. Look for the blonde with a smile on her face! I really appreciate Heather for her outstanding service and dedication. She made my visit extra special, and I can't wait to come back! Thank you so much, Heather!

We had a 21st birthday party for 20. It was great the food was good and there games were on so it was multiple wins for all. It definitely has a sports bar type of feel. The service was great, as I indicated we had a large group, drinks were refilled, appetizers were on time, food came out reasonably close and all of it was fresh and hot. The cost was surprisingly low. Ghost pepper burger was spot on, the chicken, of all types was a hit with great feedback for all the sauces. To give the full picture, the fish wasn’t a fan fav and the cauliflower mash was meh.

We went there for our football draft and our table was set up so nice. They had football draft sheets and stickers. They provided our host a gc and gave the rest of us coupon cards. Our server was very attentive and nice. We had a great time

A great place to eat. With 20 TV's --> it's a full-blown sports bar. I don't recommend smoked anything because it gets dry & overcooked. Tried samples from other friends and tastes great! Just my bad luck.

Service was excellent and prompt. Got onion rings which were great and 5 boneless hot honey wings. With a cookie for dessert, the total was around $20 including tip (photo attached). Fine food but presentation could have been a bit better for the price.

Got too excited and started eating before taking pics. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Guessing you can see how good their wings are. Their blue cheese dressing is creamy and spot on. West Sixth on tap if I recall correctly. Decent pricing, good service, and nice family atmosphere.

My husband and I love boneless wings so he had his usual bbg boneless hot wings I a new menu item the chicken sandwich and it's official buffalo wings n rings has joined the chicken sandwich wars the sandwich was amazing crunchy but not rock hard chicken was well seasoned and juicy and the slaw added a burst of flavor to every bite. Bourbon Brick Oven & Grill, under new management, has become a top dining spot. Located near Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, and Comfort Inn in Bardstown, it's a convenient choice for travelers. The restaurant offers delicious options like the 10-inch Supreme Pizza and generously sized Calzones. The wings are particularly noteworthy for their amazing flavor options. With its transformation into a 5-star gem, the restaurant now serves authentic NY style pizzas with fresh and tasty toppings.
Great little local pizza/grill/bar! Excellent brick oven baked pizza (go for the house special!!). Eat in/carry out- not everyone wants pizza, order from the adjoining Indian curry restaurant! Big selection of draft beers.

We have been here a few times and always enjoy the food. Not part of the historical district, we found it one year after attending the craft show by using Google. Pizza is always good, and my lady loves the Calzone. Very basic dining room, but it's clean. Some changes to dining area since our last visit and looks like they are still adding more.

Under the new management, Bourbon Brick Oven Pizza has truly transformed into a 5-star dining gem! The wings here are nothing short of amazing - perfectly cooked with a great flavor options! As a fan of NY style pizza, I was blown away by the authenticity and quality of their pizzas. The crust was just the right mix of crispy and chewy, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. To top it off, their bar selection is fantastic, offering a wide range of choices that cater to all tastes. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Highly recommend!

We were traveling through town on motorcycles and looked up local places to eat. Pulled up and the outside looked like a decent place to eat. There were only 2 tables occupied in the bar. There were 2 waitresses, 1 of them was sitting at a booth talking to a patron, and the other one was walking around playing on her phone talking about ordering sushi. After about 10 minutes of watching her walking around playing on her phone, I said, "I can order when you're ready." Placed my order and asked her if the Buffalo wings were good. She said, "I don't know, I don't eat those." We got our food, the food was normal bar food, it was pretty good. Then a large group of motorcycles pulled in. The waitress that was sitting said "Noooo, go away!" And finally stood up. The experience was lacking to say the least. I would fire employees on the spot for acting like that. Won't be back.

As two visitors from Wisconsin... this was SO GOOD! We were greeted by Makenna and she was absolutely wonderful! She gave us suggestions that were top notch and will definitely have us telling everyone we know. She recommended the Brick Oven Special pizza and the garlic knots. She even told us a little secret that the ranch is homemade along with all the other items on the menu down to the marinara sauce (which you can definitely tell)! Definitely a must if you are in the area and love pizza!

Disclaimer: I have rewritten this review. My experience tonight 6/23 after being a weekly regular for years, makes me not want to return. The bartender was very detached, what can I get you guys was all she said in her greet. We ordered our weekly usual. It came out in a timely fashion however the Jerk sauce I ordered came out as a dry rub. Upon notifying our bartender/server whom dropped the food and began to walk away immediately without follow up service questions, i notified her that we wanted jerk sauce, she stated it had been changed a month ago to a dry rub. (We ordered it 8 days ago and received the delicious sauce expected. ) .She offered no apologies, no explanations, just that it had just been changed a month ago. It seemed that she did not care whether we were there or not, and we were a nuisance. She had 0 personality and made us feel very unwelcomed. Our drinks were empty for at least 10 minutes before she revisited us. She did not even ask us if we needed refills we had to wave her back down after leaving. She gave us nasty looks while we were there. Definitely treated us differently than her other tables. Maybe had she not been judging based on appearances, she would have realized that we were regulars and very good tippers. When dropping the bill I tried to call her back to fix the total, because we were charged for wings after telling her we did not want the ones that were dry rub. With an attitude and a nasty look, she said I'm fixing it. I'm not sure what's going on with management however we definitely will call before we come up here to make sure she is not going to be bartending. If the owners are smart, they will give the option of the jerk sauce or at least educate their staff to educate their customers on menu/sauce changes, and to not make their guests feel like they are a bother to the person serving them. Being a server and bartender of 18 years, this is the 1st time EVER that I have not left a 20% or more tip. I can't remember her name but this girl was a Caucasian girl with long dark hair and a ponytail terrible customer service, Terrible table service, And treated us like we were a bother to her being there. We will from now on, if we choose to come back, call and make sure we know who is going to be taking care of us.

There was a problem and they didnt get my order. The owner was very fast to get back to us and fix the problem. I didnt get to try the food but look forward to trying next time I'm in town. Thank you for your fast customer service. Ordered. Paid online for pizza. Was so excited to eat their food. Got confirmation email pizza would be ready at 5:30 pm. Get there they they had no idea. Had order on one computer not on other so no one made it. Told me it would be another 40 minutes had babies in car so we couldn't wait but owner was very nice in fixing issue. Employees was very quick in contacting owner. They obviously care about their customers.

Incredible cocktails, wide selection, excellent service and atmosphere. A must-visit for libations and hydration on your Bardstown visit. It had been on my list to visit for a while as we adopted our dog from a Mr Tubs team member, and had been following their journey for a while on social media. Absolutely exceeded expectations, and if our dog knew what a cocktail bar was he would be so proud. If you end up going, tell them Ace sent you. :)

This is an awesome place!! Every bourbon you can imagine. The selection was overwhelming. I asked the bartender to surprise me with something smooth and flavorful that you can’t get normally. They poured me a dram of Wild Turkey 12 year. I learned this is only sold in Japan. I’d never had it and so glad I got to try it. My wife had the espresso martini. She said it was delicious. I’ll take her word for it since I don’t like coffee. 😁

A wonderful little speakeasy type bar. This quaint location has a wonderful story with an even cooler owner. Had some awesome chats while my wife and I were up here house hunting. The owner made us feel very welcome and the drinks were amazing. I was astonished at the vast collection of bourbon behind the bar. So much I had heard of but plenty I had never. You could spend weeks on weeks here and likely never try everything but that makes this place that much more enjoyable. If I'm ever in town again, I cannot wait to return to Volstead.

Sept 2nd. After dinner at Scout & Scholar, we bought 2 bottles at Evergreen and then walked into Volstead. Boodie was exceptional, we were in late and usually last guests get that look when they come in. Instead we were treated like the first guests of the day. Bodie shared some distillery stories and his opinion on some whiskies, which were helpful. He pours nice drinks.......Weller Antique 107. Little did we know the distiller at Heaven Hill was sitting right next to us. Heaven Hill was our 2pm tour the next day.

If you're looking for a memorable dining experience, Uncle Spoony's Sports Bar & Kitchen is the place to be! Nestled in Bardstown, this gem offers not only delicious food but also exceptional service. I recently hosted a gathering there and was blown away by the catering options. The fried chicken was an absolute standout—perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. Spoony himself served us, making our visit even more special as he took time to chat with my grandson about sports.
Its hard to put into words my experience here. I was hosting a gathering in Bardstown and needed to arrange Tue night dinner. It was only by luck that I found Uncle Spoony and his place. He agreed to close off the bar for our event and provide the catering. It was outstanding! All the food was great but one thing to note is the fried chicken we ate that night. I have never had chicken that good in my life! It wasnt any kind of secret recipe but was all about the preparation. And our dealings with Uncle Spoony didn't stop there. This Air Force/Army vet met up with our group a couple times during the week and we are glad he did. He is an absolute asset to the Bardstown community and our group and I now consider him family.

Was waited on by Spoony himself. I had his baby back ribs, so delicious. My grandson had the frog legs, he said they were also delicious and gives Spoony a 10 star out of a 5 star, that's coming from a 9 year old! Robert had lots of questions for Spoony, wanted to know who his favorite NBA team is, his favorite football team and so on. Spoony took the extra time from his busy day to answer these questions. Thank you Spoony for entertaining my grandson!
Tammy G — Google review
Must stop for great food and friendly service! Had the wings and they did not disappoint! Highly recommend eating here. Be sure to chat with Uncle Spoony and his Son!
Jeff M — Google review
Down home cooking that’s legit and absolutely incredible. Just walking inside I’m greeted with the same wonderful smells I remember from my own grandmother’s kitchen, and a taste to match in the food that comes out to you. Takes me back and makes me happy every time. The staff are locals, welcoming and friendly. If you want to eat somewhere that truly takes pride in what they do, look no further than Uncle Spoony’s! UPDATE: We hired Uncle Spoony’s for a catering job, and they were fantastic! A week later and we’re still getting compliments on how good the food was and how friendly, welcoming, and professional they were. Considering their catering prices beat everyone around and they made sure of it - you just can’t go wrong choosing them!
