Pub
The Ship Inn in Tresaith is a charming beachside inn with cozy rooms, a themed bar, and a restaurant with a heated terrace. The building dates back to the 1780s and is adorned with seafaring decor, creating a welcoming atmosphere complemented by a log fire. This traditional fisherman's local has been frequented by stars during the filming of Moby Dick and Under Milk Wood. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in designated areas.
I came to the area on a whim with just myself and my dog, and thankfully The Ship Inn is dog friendly, so I had two dinners and one breakfast here! I can highly recommend eating here, and can confirm they are dog FRIENDLY, they offered treats, water, and gave my girl some fuss too. It's also barely a 15 second walk from a dog friendly beach too (the right side is dog friendly year round) The staff were all so friendly and helpful, having come on a whim I hadn't thought to book ahead - I'd very much recommend booking as it is a popular pub, but I was lucky to have been accommodated both nights and one morning.

Stunning location, fantastic service and delicious food, we had an amazing stay here, the staff are fantastic and a special mention to Hayley, Finn and Leah who made our experience extra special thank you. The food is incredible we had the lamb duo the pie was amazing and the lamb rump cooked to perfection, the apple and cherry crumble with custard was gorgeous, there is a great selection of drinks, lovely relaxing sofa area to chill out after food with board games. The view is absolutely stunning and we had a beautiful sunset. The hotel is dog friendly and the dogs loved the beach. We highly recommend and we will be returning, we can’t wait.

This place is a little Jem! The view was gorgeous with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were delighted with our meals, not only did it look very presentable it tasted really good. Definitely will go back and recommend to others.

Popped In late for a quick drink on way back to caravan. Staff were amazing very friendly and welcoming. Kate, Fin, and Shaun were fab. Me and my partner had a great laugh with them all at the bar. Would highly recommend. Will Defo come back again. Not to mention the views. Watching the sunset. So beautiful.
Claire T — Google review
Views across the bay were amazing. Service was very friendly. Food was typically chain food but not bad. Kids Mac n cheese was apparently amazing. Only had pedigree on tap which was off which was disappointing. Had to settle for Guinness. Inchs cider was good though
Arron N — Google review
The location is lovely however there is extremely limited parking outside the inn. You could park on the road however we were advised there is a traffic warden that works Sundays too and tickets will be issued (not the inns fault). The staff were friendly, helpful and it was great to see the place busy. However this meant that dining later things had sold out on the menu but we couldn't book a table for earlier. It wouldn't put us off going back just always this it's better being honest. Even if you just fancy a drink it's a lovely location for the inn & very dog friendly.
Karen W — Google review
Lovely evening with sightings of dolphins! Couldn't ask for more! Parking is limited and a challenge in a large vehicle but really worth it. The beach is gorgeous and the waterfall a real surprise and just stunning!
Lisa L — Google review
Visited the Ship Inn on our travels along the Welsh coast. Beautiful surroundings, unfortunately the tide was in so we couldn’t see the waterfall. Staff were very accommodating of our dog and baby, especially with my wife breastfeeding, and were very friendly and helpful. Food was lovely too, as was the gorgeous view. Would recommend if you’re near Tresaith and are looking for somewhere to relax for a while and take in the beautiful scenery.

The Daffodil is a charming food pub located between Newcastle Emlyn and Llandysul. Managed by Hugh and Gill Matthews since 2014, they have successfully transformed this hidden gem. The establishment boasts stunning countryside views and an inviting interior decor that exudes warmth. Their Sunday lunch is highly recommended, with the sticky toffee pudding being a particular standout. The staff are known for their friendliness and welcoming attitude.
What an amazing place. We were exploring the area and saw the pin on Google maps for the pub. Dropped in and we're smitten as soon as we stepped in. Very friendly staff and the choice of food on the menu was very good. Definetly on our list to revisit and maybe bring a few friends to sample it too. The atmosphere of the pub feels very upmarket and welcoming at the same time.
Stuart C — Google review
Make no mistake, this is a lovely pub with food beyond the standardised pub grub. As you enter you'll notice the two Mitchelin plates which instantly tells you your in a place where quality prevails. My wife and I were lucky to get a table as they were very busy with private Christmas parties, so book in advanced, the high tables are absolutely fine to dine at. We opted for the Everyday Christmas dinner option and it was good, nothing too remarkable, just solid good. The turkey was soft and tasty, the dish was well rounded with a nice blend of root veg, homemade cranberry and decent roasties. In my opinion the gravy could be thicker or served with a gravy boat for those who prefer more gravy.. especially at the price point of £21 per dish. We also had the Christmas dirty fries which were about right to top up a well sized dinner to a bigger more plentiful dinner. Overall. It's a stylish, warm and welcoming pub, they have an incredible array of drinks on offer and a very attractive bar area, the staff are friendly and the food is the best you'll get for miles around. Worth a visit. 8/10.

Fantastic place, extremely kind, welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful bar and restaurant. I sat on the terrace in the sun with eggs Benedict and Earl Grey tea. Thrilled that they cater to different diets and so happily accommodated my keto requests by serving my tea with cream instead of milk, and switching out bread for black pudding for a tiny surcharge. Food was wonderful as was the view - see photos. Plenty of parking, good toilets, decent pricing. Would go again in a heartbeat - highly recommended.

We had an incredible visit, we had 8 people which they made us feel really welcome. We all had the Sunday dinner which was sublime, the beef just fell apart. Our dog also had a wonderful time as they supplied a dog menu too. Definitely will be coming back, absolute Gem of a place.
Alex S — Google review
Excellent service, kind and caring staff. Came here with my elderly father who suffers from dementia who had a few issues whilst here with h8m. Staff managed it discreetly and compassionately. Absolutely would recommend this place, we have since returned. The food is first class, simply put an outstanding establishment.
James W — Google review
Possible one of the best Sunday lunches we have had. Well prepared quality beef. A great range of vegetables. Very busy but the service was great with just the right time between course's. Prawn cocktail was also very tasty. Dog friendly with a dog menu should you need it. This was our second meal here during our holiday and it won't be our last.
Les S — Google review
Utterly amazing, saw coffee and cake on the sign and decided to treat ourselves on the way back from a failed Facebook marketplace peruse. We had a trailer and the guy serving immediately offered the carpark when he saw we'd parked on the road. Found a place on the veranda and tucked into the coffee and cake - brilliant. We'll be going again with everyone we know!?!

Visited here last night for the first time after receiving a gift voucher for our recent wedding. Food was excellent ( I had the lamb and my wife had the chicken strips). Was impressed by the decor. Staff were excellent and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend and will definitely return in the future.

Whether you're in the mood for a classic pizza or a hearty pasta dish, Baravin has something to satisfy your cravings.
Always good food here and service was top notch! We had the tortillas to start and there's are incredible. The Ragu for main was out of this world with plenty of it. Honeycomb cheesecake for dessert was also very good. Can highly recommend the elderflower mojito too!

Sat outside, beautiful weather - cheese burger was exceptional. Worth it. Pleasantly surprised - really good staff.

Dropped in for lunch without a reservation on a Saturday, table for two seated straight away. I would probably recommend booking if you want a guaranteed table. Food is fine but I would say not worth the asking price,I enjoyed the minute steak but £24 worth I'll let you make your own mind up from the picture. Next time we are in town we will probably try somewhere different.

Visited on Wednesday, 03rd September 2025, for the second time, but first in the evening. Located on the seafront as a location, it can't be bettered. We didn't book a table, and the only one left was not in the main seating area, so we couldn't enjoy the lovely views from the rotunda-style windows. As it was, the menu is quite limited, but it is more of a bar/café, so that's fine. It's a bit pricey, but it had some stunning Pizza. Limited alcohol and none on draft, unfortunately. Friendly staff and a fun atmosphere.

Dinner for 2. We had fresh fish and sides. Extremely good! We sat outside under heated lamps. Perfect, dog friendly. Cocktails and huge choice of food. Great deserts, too. Friendly server very helpful. Will revisit, thanks again.

Stayed here for two nights in August and loved it. The bathroom was huge and very well laid out. The room was well decorated and had all the amenities you could ask for, including a fridge! The hotel has a coffee and cake happy hour for residents which was a lovely experience. We had dinner there on the first night and the quality of the food was excellent. The only thing to be aware of is that there is limited parking at the back of the hotel but there is some a short walk away.
Sian B — Google review
Lovely place to eat and everyone loved the fish dishes and wine choices but very disappointed with other aspects, which should have been better for the price. Service was very friendly and prompt though unimpressed with their recommendation of the pistachio tart which wasn’t great. I did let our waitress know this but she didn’t say much in reply. The children’s tomato linguine seemed to be literally tinned tomatoes on pasta rather than a lovely, homemade sauce. The new potatoes in the side dish were slightly hard and way, way too garlicky (and I love garlic) and the twice baked soufflé was extremely disappointing (heavy and dense, maybe reheated). Crispy cockles were a mix of good and chewy.
Sinead E — Google review
Decent music in the background. Slow to offer menu and drinks, then very slow after giving us our bill. We went to the desk to pay, as we appeared to be ignored. My starter of scallops with a Thai dressing was overwhelmed by the vinegar in the dressing. Putting a shell on top of other shells doesn't make for easy eating. My main of chicken supreme was fabulous. Best main I've had in ages! Hubby's starter was lush, pigs cheeks - but his main of hake in red wine jus was very salty. So we each had a good one and a bad one. Chef needs to look at these things.
Fiona P — Google review
Nice setting by the harbour. Strange service model. First you are seated by receptionist but without menus or option to request a drink. Secondly menus arrive (eventually), despatched hurriedly, again no option to order a drink. Carafe of water delivered. Finally abrupt young man arrives to take order. Meanwhile receptionist seats new arrivals at table that needs cleaning - why, when plenty of clean tables available? This could all be so much better. Coffee however was absolutely delicious. The young man who delivered the drinks to the table was very pleasant. Wine upwards from £10 a glass.
Jean B — Google review
Amazing luxurious hotel room. Breakfast was of a high quality. All the staff had the perfect balance of being friendly, but making the stay feel like a treat. We also booked an evening meal, and this was also excellent, and quite good value for the very high quality.
Marc R — Google review
We ate tonight. Keian was brilliant throughout. Explained that we had a 30 minute wait. No problem. Had a great seat an a beer while waiting. The food and service was exceptional. My lamb meal was beautifully cooked. More importantly, my Wife's fish meal trout was superb. The experience was quality. Many thanks to all. Annette and Ian Parry Prestatyn North Wales.

Lovely views from seating areas both indoors and outdoors. Family friendly with kids menu amd highchairs. Great food and friendly staff. (Couple of steps inside)

I went to the restaurant with my husband twice while on holiday in the area. First was for Sunday roast lunch and then again for dinner. I can't recommend this enough. The food on both occasions was amazing, the staff incredibly friendly and the environment and view superb. Very dog friendly, and we had 3 (small ones)! We would definitely go back again if we are in the area.
Steven K — Google review
An incredible view over the Teifi, and an excellent atmosphere to the dining area. Freshly prepared, locally sourced food, everything that we have eaten here has been absolutely delicious, with generous portions sizes. The burgers are fab, and the chicken and chorizo tagliatelle was amazing too. All the servers have been lovely, quick and personable.
Miranda S — Google review
Lovely warm welcome, staff were wonderful and attentive. Food was very good, lovely pub grub theme with a fantastic view over the river. As a family of four we found it a little pricey - 1 starter of gloves and bread, 4 mains ordered, 6 drinks and 1 dessert came to £138. Especially charging £11.50 for an Aperol Spritz. £6.85 for a pint of Moretti. These are London prices, which I find rather off-putting.
Chris C — Google review
Great food, great service. Just ve aware that there is very little parking. Get there early and try and find roadside parking a few hundred yards away. Worth it for the food. The cheddar burger on sour dough bun and the seafood basket were really nice. I would of preferred chips to fries but that's a personal choice. Would definitely recommend
Holmsey3 — Google review
A pleasant pub overlooking the Teifi estuary. From the outside it looks small but extensions at the back on the riverbank provide plenty of space for eating and drinking. The bar area is more traditional and reassuringly cosy. I would suggest that booking is essential in the summer. The range of beers is good and the wines fairly well priced. I thought the food was a bit pricey although the portions were generous (particularly chips). Service was good, as was the view.
Bruce J — Google review
Seriously spot on. The staff are wonderful, welcoming and professional. We had a very early evening meal, which was quiet. How we wanted it. The food was exceptional. And well, hopeful to go back again soon. The pub, I thought, was really small..but upon walking in, it was like a tardis. It goes back a long way. Amazing 🤩
Mim H — Google review
Despite being a slightly limited menu the food was excellent, all freshly made and locally sourced not to mention the portions were generous to say the least. The staff were very good and attentive and the drinks were also good. If I had to mention a negative it would be that the place seems to draw in slightly pretentious clientele but you can't help who books a table I suppose!

Absolutely delicious meal at The Hive. The Sunday Roast was perfect, cooked to perfection. The staff are lovely and attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them. I could not believe how reasonable it cost, soft drink, meal, dessert and coffee for £34. I would highly recommend The Hive.

Went in for breakfast on a rainy weekday. No waiting. Ample indoor and outdoor seating available. Staffs are friendly. Food is flavourful and portion size is good. They have a few vegetarian options on the menu. At their ice cream kiosk, do try honey vanilla, a 50 years old recipe. We also enjoyed honey chocolate ice cream🍦

Lovely Gluten-free cone and range of ice cream flavours! So nice to be able to have a cone as most places don’t provide this, so will definitely be recommending and coming back here! Only down side is that they didn’t have any dairy free ice creams available - only sorbet. Unfortunately, this is often the case at ice cream places and would be amazing if even 1 vegan vanilla was provided! Sad to see a little girl in front not able to have an ice cream because of this. Apart from this, the customer service was quick and would recommend for gluten-free customers! Photo: My Gluten-free cone on the left and my partner’s gluten cone on the right. (Please note they do NOT do gluten-free wafers so your gluten free ice cream will come without).

4.5/5 Lovely food, if a bit pricey. Or maybe £18 for a pretty standard burger and small portion of fries is the norm these days. The mussels were delicious though. Excellent location but not great views. I was expecting to be able to look out at the harbour but you couldn't from where we're sat. Friendly and quick service.

Me and my boyfriend came here for an evening meal whilst on holiday in New Quay… and we were not disappointed!! After having a drink outside during the day and seeing how nice the food looked, we knew we needed to book in to eat the next night. This was by far the nicest meal we’ve both ever had! We started with the Korean BBQ Chicken. My boyfriend had The Hive Burger for his main whilst I had the Welsh Lamb Kofta flatbread which was to die for. The Elderflower Collins cocktail was stunning! Good price for pints for him as well. Rebooked for another meal with the whole family and cannot wait to try something else from the menu. Amazing restaurant and amazing staff. 11/10 😍

Known for its welcoming vibe, The White Horse stands out as a must-visit destination for those looking to experience authentic flavors while soaking up the rich heritage of the area.
A lovely atmosphere with music that doesn't hurt the ear drums. There is an ample choice of food and offers on the menu. Not too busy which was nice but a steady flow of people. There is seating upstairs and downstairs so plenty to choose from. The food wait wasn't too long at at all and everything was cooked to a good standard. Clean, classy and welcoming. A great little high street pub that doesn't break the bank 😀 Great job

Plenty of choices on the menu and prices are very reasonable. However, we did have a very long wait (approx 45 mins) for what were quite simple dishes. But the food was ok and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.

If you are in Aberystwyth, don't go to the 'Spoons, come to The White Horse instead! The beer is kept and poured to perfection and the food is so delicious, the meat is sourced from the local butcher and the desserts are phenomenal! The staff couldn't be more helpful and accommodating, and the toilets are spotless! I can't speak highly enough of this place!
Emma W — Google review
So I ordered The chippy feast... That contained fish & Chips & Curry sauce and mushy peas and Tartare sauce with a battered sosuage. The sosuage was far to small also not enough chips to go with all the different sauces so £11 sounds good but I hope they start adding more chips to the plate. Maybe the don't need to include curry sauce when mushy pease is already on the plate so they instead of wasting money on Curry sauce then make it so it has more chips. They see to waste plate space with all the different sauces is that because they don't like adding chips ? Service was slow considering not many in the pub. All that said the food was delicious and friendly staff.
John T — Google review

We came with a voucher that we had been given by our son, for a meal for 2. The waiter, James, wasn’t aware of the deal but he went above and beyond to ensure that we were sorted out. He was very attentive and polite and also interested in us as customers, which is a refreshing change nowadays. Thanks James for your attention.
Alison M — Google review
Neat looking pub. We had 3 starters to share. Nachos were cold and not good. Wings were ok but just put on a plate and covered in cold bbq sauce. Onion rings were just average. Server never offered us plates and we ate over our napkins. Noting special here folks.
W W — Google review
I recently visited The White Horse in Aberystwyth and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the full breakfast was fantastic. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the sausages were flavorful, and the accompanying beans, mushrooms, and toast were delicious. It was hearty, well-prepared, and truly satisfying. However, the bacon sandwich left something to be desired. The bacon was a bit too dry chewy, and lacked the crispiness that one would expect. It seemed slightly underwhelming compared to the otherwise excellent full breakfast. Overall, The White Horse is a great place for a hearty breakfast, but the bacon sandwich could use some improvement. I'd still recommend giving it a try for the friendly atmosphere and the overall quality of their breakfast offerings.

Whether you're craving a hearty Sunday roast or a selection of ales from nearby microbreweries, this inn has something for everyone. On holiday staying with friends. Went here with wife and friends who stay local and recommended it. The service was excellent and the selection although not extensive was more than adequate. Two of us had lamb which was excellent. My wife had the hake with risotto which she could not fault. An excellent evening. Would highly recommend.

Called in for a meal as we were passing. The food was excellent, we both had vegetarian options (there was a very good selection) although we are not vegetarian. It was delicious. The service was very good, the staff were friendly and service was quick and efficient. The location was lovely with plenty seating outside by the river. Highly recommended!

When you see your holiday accommodation is in walking distance of a pub, this is what you dream of. A great menu that lives up to all the descriptions, and excellent wine list and a lovely riverside environment. We visited twice and our meals were excellent and the employees were absolutely lovely. Would absolutely recommend, with jealousy that wouldn't be us going back, only due to logistics!!

Great service, great food and great location by the riverside! Food was yummy and they cater really well for allergies and dietary needs. They had different menus depending on your needs, gluten free, vegan, allergen menu. We visited as a family of 6 and ate fish and chips (standard and gluten free), pulled meat wrap, the kids ate a burger and spaghetti Bolognese. The puddings were also amazing. We were all well fed and happy. Thank you.

Every time me and my wife come to Pembrokeshire for a weekend get away, we come to the Nags head. Every time we come to the Nags Heads, our taste buds are blown away! I had the “pie”… simple dish i hear you say….. OMG You have not LIVED till you’ve had this pie! I can also highly recommend the Lamb from my last visit. Defiantly one of the highlights of our trip!

Lovely cosy pub situated next to a gentle river. Fantastic quality food sensibly priced, good portions. 9 of us (plus 2 dogs) on holiday booked a table online with no trouble for the following evening, 3 or 4 very attentive and friendly waitresses served us outside (dogs outside only) couldn't fault anything at all. We'll definitely be going back before we Go home. Will add that we had a couple of days prior tried to book a pub not far down the road on two occasions and been given the cold shoulder which as it turned out was a result otherwise we may have missed out on this perfect little find!

Passed by this place en route to campsite at Cenarth and it looked so nice, we decided to go back there for dinner despite having already bought pizzas !!! The setting is beautiful, with outdoor seating next to a river. Sadly the sun had dropped too low so we decided to eat inside. Absolutely beautiful and very quaint. Perfect menu : not a massive selection thank goodness as each dish sounded so good that it was still actually difficult to make a choice !!! Food really was good, lovely friendly service. If we are ever in this area again, we would definitely return. Well done guys, you have an amazing place.

Medina is a casual-chic Mediterranean cafe in Aberystwyth, inspired by the owner's upbringing and love for fresh, imaginative food. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with flavors from Spain, Italy, and Greece, featuring mouthwatering tapas, wood-fired pizzas, and fresh seafood. Guests can expect a delightful culinary journey in a charming atmosphere with great music and friendly staff. The menu includes staples like kebabs and veggies alongside an array of spirits and wine.
What an amazing job they've done to this old pub! Really nice and clean with a great atmosphere too. Food was VERY good and at great prices. The buttermilk chicken and belly pork were top notch. Salads are delicious and great value if you order 4 of them. Will be back for sure.

Loved this cafe! Super friendly staff! Dog friendly inside/downstairs. Great menu and brilliant cake options. Was very popular with locals for take away coffees. Coffee was great! I had the eggs and avocado, delicious! Wish I'd sampled their small lemon meringues now, will have to return.

Wonderful discovery in the middle of tourist madness places. We were lucky to get a large table without calling in. The starter combination place good, the pork belly was fabulous. As was everything else on the table. The only damper was the two cakes darts we had. Extremely sweet, unnecessarily. But so good looking!!!!

A delightful Mediterranean restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and tasteful background music. The décor is beautifully done, creating a warm and inviting setting. The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff are genuinely welcoming, particularly towards children. A perfect spot for families as well as friends to enjoy a relaxed meal.

Lots of tasty lunch options. The tendency is towards vegetarian dishes and salads with a meat and fish option. Is you choose a main bite, you can add two salads for 5.95, which we all chose to do. The two salads are about the right size for one person. The pork belly was delicious. The asparagus and leek tart came with a generous serving of smoked salmon. This was also delicious. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Great place for breakfast and coffee. For our group we ordered the French toast, the shakshuka, the full breakfast, and Turkish eggs - everything was very good. We also got a chocolate brownie and a chocolate cake, both gluten free, and they were moist, rich and delicious.

4.5/5 Excellent food if a bit pricey for what you get. I think the service let it down. We sat upstairs where it was supposed to be table service but the staff were, presumably, too busy to attend to a lot of the tables who were having to go and place their own orders. No one asked if everything was ok once we'd received our food or if we wanted further drinks etc.

Ultracomida is a delightful deli and tapas bar nestled in Aberystwyth, offering an authentic taste of Spain right in the heart of Wales. This charming spot is perfect for those seeking a genuine culinary experience without breaking the bank. By day, you can savor delectable tapas like slow-cooked beef cheeks paired with garlic potato puree or baked hake served with lentils, Serrano ham, and chorizo.
What an incredible place. One of a few I wish I could give a 6th star to. We had a lovely tapas lunch with Vermouth and wine. Everything, every little detail was perfect. Incredible cheese and meat platter, simply divine light and fluffy Croquetas, and the almond tart with cream and sherry, OMG! Simply stunning. Lovely staff too. Bravo!!

We always have a fabulous dining experience at this amazing establishment, the new table arrangement is a huge improvement since we were last there. The food was top notch as ever, as was the Vermouth flight, the staff were also extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended, can’t wait to return again and again.

Food was really really good here, but our server was not quite up to it. We were often the last to get our drinks and food and we're given one option for a dish of the day when someone else after us got offered 3 options! This aside, the food is very good and we'll be back to try some more dishes.

The picture is from 2 years ago ! The server is nice here but .... In Auschwitz they were serving better portions 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 That's £32 I'll never spend here ! PS: they have lovely cheese at £35 per kilogram 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 PPS: I'm Romanian and if you want you could have this food for half the price and better the quality! The outside of the pub is nothing special and with no garden and in a backwater road it didnt seem to be anywhere special. How wrong we were. After having a personal recommendation and reading excellent reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to give Sunday Lunch a whirl here. We certainly weren't disappointed. We went in the side door by mistake but once we found the restaurant we were given a genuinely wonderful warm greeting. We were booked for 12:00 (as they were fully booked and could only squeeze us in then) the spread of food at the carvery was incredible. Beef, lamb, pork and turkey with an array of vegetables, Yorkshire Puds, Stuffing and sauces. As much as we wanted. You can even have a slice off each joint if you want! Everyone was SO friendly and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our lunch and have a good time. The meats were all slow cooked and mouth wateringly tender. The dessert table was packed with home made desserts and you can help yourself to whatever you want (if you've got any room left?!) & there's a huge jug of cream to pour on top! We will definitely be back.

Went for dinner, sadly very disappointed and below average. Scampi and chips, ok. Chorizo and bacon lasagne, awful, thick layer of cheese on top, very very rich. Over cooked dry chicken burger. Such a shame as lovely location. Staff were great and dealt with professionally.

Friendly staff, very welcoming, food good as pub should be. Only downside was a couple sat two tables away and we as a couple just wanted a quietish meal. But large group of very loud people 8+ squashed on to table between us. We couldn't hear our own voices! So finished meal and moved, as did the other couple. But it is a pub, expect a bit of noise. Shame others couldn't be a bit more considerate.

The Black Lion in New Quay, West Wales is a clifftop pub with 9 simple rooms that offer sea views and complimentary breakfast at the charming restaurant. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making it a child-friendly place with a small play area overlooking the beautiful sea. While some find the prices slightly high for what's offered, others highly recommend it for its quick service, enjoyable food like cajun chicken burger and incredible sticky toffee pudding.
Best pub in Newquay by a mile, top views and well kept garden. Enjoyed the varied beer selection and some choices you don't find everywhere which was great to see, so stayed for more than planned!

Amazing pub experience, they didn’t have sprite or 7UP but they did have lemonade as an exact alternative. The food was pretty good. I had a gigantic steak and lots of chips. for dessert. I had a scoop of the vanilla and strawberry ice cream. We were a group of like nine or something, so there was a lot of space for all of us, which is good. We sat outside where dogs are permitted. You have to go inside to get what you want, which is a little tedious, but it’s how it is. The staff were very nice and very talkative. They had bathrooms, including one for disabled people. We gave them a nice tip, and they said it will be split among the workers, which was nice to hear. It took until I was essentially done my food to find the salt, so that was unfortunate. I wish they had different containers to carry the salt, rather than little bags, which are shoved underneath all of the other condiments. Overall, nice place.

An excellent Sunday roast-I’d go so far as to say one of the best I’ve ever had. We were passing and came in without booking. Seated with no fuss in the bar. We came here twice during our stay in the area, once for drinks and the second time for dinner - and for taking photos of all the memorabilia of the great Dylan Thomas whose favourite pub the Black Lion was! Awesome family pub for lovers of great food and Dylan Thomas. The beef in the chilli just melts in your mouth, the chicken in the curry was soft and flavourful and there's a hell of a meaty bite to the burger. There's also a park out the back to keep the kids entertained.

Last night, I had a remarkable evening at Libanus 1877. The food was exquisite and the movie was enjoyable. I want to express my gratitude to everyone there. I am eagerly anticipating my next visit. Additionally, in the small village where it is located, there is an Animalarium and a converted chapel cinema for rainy days. This cinema is my absolute favorite place to watch movies because the popcorn is always freshly made and warm.
I was told on our half term trip to Borth that we were going to the cinema. My partner knows the owners of the caravan we rented, and it was recommended for us too. Weird I thought a cinema on holiday?! Basically I have never visited a cinema like this and it was amazing. The seating was comfy, and I didn't miss anything about our local cinemas at all. The way we were booked, the building, and the screen room were all amazing. Really interesting place to visit and you can watch the latest blockbuster as well.

Really lovely cinema. Lovely service, really small but seat are so comfortable with loads of leg room. They have done an amazing job at this place and made it so homely and modern. Amazing place and can't wait to go again and watch another movie. 5/5

Food is exceptional. Had a Sunday roast with featherblade of beef which fell apart. You pay a few pounds more than other places but in my eyes it is well worth it, probably the best restaurant in Borth. Also watched a film in their cinema which was great. We watched Freakier Friday, seats are comfortable and spacious, there are also pillows and blankets if you want them. Wide range of drinks and snacks available and good choice of draught beer.
Sean O — Google review
Brilliant little Cinema and Restaurant, one if not the best Cinema's we've ever been too. It has 2 screens, the film we watched was shown on screen 2, with 4 rows of 5 seats and 2 sets of 2 at the back. The seats are like sitting in an arm chair and recline. Very comfortable indeed. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Can't recommend it enough, if you're in Borth or Aberystwyth pay it a visit. We have eaten in the restaurant on a previous visit and it was excellent. Will definitely visit both again.

We went here around 3 years ago and had a really nice meal, hence our return tonight for my wifes birthday. Got to admit, the food was top notch and probably one of the nicest meals that I have ever had. The thick Sirloin steak was cooked to perfection, the crispy onion rings, just melted in my mouth, the mushrooms were full of flavour, with the duck fat roasted potatoes just complimenting it all. Superb.
John H — Google review
By far one of the best Sunday lunches offered in the Aberystwyth area. Everything on the plate was a taste sensation. The staff were extremely helpful and yet we felt relaxed and unhurried on what was a very busy afternoon for those working. Love the decor. It feels interesting, relaxed and yet a feeling of home. The cleanliness was also a high standard. A gem of a venue on all levels and we cant wait to return to sample more off the week day menu.

Great place to eat. Formally a disused chapel, converted into a cinema and restruant. The cinema is small by comparison but very plush. We went to the Libanus 1877 for a meal. The Welsh Black Inn is a charming establishment that offers a unique experience with traditional breed livestock such as Welsh Black cattle, Welsh pigs, and Llanwenog sheep. The on-site shop provides home-reared lamb, beef, and pork along with an assortment of fruits and vegetables for purchase. Called in to The Welsh Black Inn on a Monday and spoke with a lovely Thai lady to book a table for 2 with a dog for the Wednesday night. All booked in with no issues. We arrived on the Wednesday for the meal only to be ushered out of the reception into the bar by an extremely gruff, self important Welsh male and told no dogs allowed. While trying to explain we had a booking for 2 adults and a dog, I was rudely cut off and told to leave. Prity sure he was just a customer running the bingo night. Such rudeness is not worth my time so we left. On the way out we passed our reserved table? Despite dog friendly signs up and selling dog ice-cream I got the impression that it was just this particular male that has the issue. I wouldn't bother if you have a dog. Despite the response from the 'owner' this does not validate the gruffness and rudeness experienced. A reservation was made, with the knowledge of a dog being in attendance, this reservation was not honoured. Very poor customer service.

A large group of us had the Sunday lunch. We'd booked & just as well as the place was BUSY! Service was very good, plenty of drinks to choose including a choice of cask beers. For the Sunday roast there were 3 meats plus a veggie option. There were I think 9 veg to choose from, plus Yorkshires, stuffing, sauces, gravy etc. All the food was very good, and plenty of the main protein. Desserts we just about managed, but they were really good too. Highly recommended

Whilst working in the area for a week, I stumbled upon this local pub after passing each morning on my daily commute. So on a Friday evening after work at 6:30, I popped in for a pint and some dinner. Staff greeted me and so did the small group sitting directly opposite the main bar. I ordered a Guinness and lamb & mint pie with chips and salad. I tried to stroke the dog who seemed to be a resident fixture but had no joy. I got a bark at least. Not sure if it was welcome or bog off? I took my seat in the empty pub area and listened to the sounds. All from 1980’s, so I relocated to the other seats by the board games. Approximately twenty minutes later, a shy teenage waitress brought my meal to me. Didn’t engage in conversation just smiled. The meal was very good, pie was very tasty. Lamb was succulent, plentiful and the gravy was delicious. The pastry was a nice texture and the chips with salad were fine. The waitress was too shy to ask if I wanted a desert after collecting my plate. I thanked the barmaid for the meal and made my way to the car park. Upon leaving a local sat at the bar quipped “ he’s from the south “ which I found to be childish if I’m honest. Then as I crossed the car park, staff unloading groceries from a car thanked me for my custom.

Tafarn John Y Gwas is a charming little pub that exudes a fantastic atmosphere and boasts friendly staff. It's the kind of place that immediately feels like your local, offering various events such as quiz nights and themed evenings. The food is described as good quality pub grub without any fuss, with the staff being knowledgeable and engaging. Visitors are encouraged to have at least one drink here but should be prepared to stay longer than planned.
One of those places you need to know about. Found this by pure chance as I was camping up the road and the campsite owner runs a taxi service from the pub to the village, including pub and shop! anyway, super friendly service, great beer, friendly locals and tasty food. Had nachos followed by half n half chilli with rice n chips (that’s the half n half ) food is reasonably priced, tasty, good portions. Cake on the bar. When you go here do talk to people. Ask about the specials (salt n pepper chicken and gammon with eggs AND pineapple)

An absolute gem of a "local" with an amazing atmosphere, a great selection of drinks at a great price (including Trooper on tap!), great owners and jukebox! Yes it's a rock pub but everyone of every age, rocker or not are made to feel very welcome, including tourists and the cheesy chips are awesome! They occasionally have live bands, the last one I saw being a Ska band and their own festival featuring a variety of acts of many different genres. I just wished I could go more often than I do! I don't just recommend it, I'm telling you to go there!

The White Hart Community Inn, located in the small village of St Dogmaels, was recently acquired by the local community after its closure. This charming pub serves a variety of draught beers and local craft ales, making it a hub for social gatherings. With its warm atmosphere and friendly staff, it has become a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The inn also hosts lively quiz nights on Sundays and screens live sports during the week and weekends.
Excellent Traditional Pub. Run by the Local Community. Excellent Well kept Beer from a Brewery close by. Great Welcome. They don't have a full time Cheff, how l was informed about a Pop up Kitchen with themed food evenings 2 or 3 times a week. I will be trying the food Traditional Home Made Pie. Then on Friday Asian themed Food. I will report on these when l have sampled both. However even without Food being available, it's a great place to visit and Drink. Drink prices are very reasonable.

Lovely community pub that serves its community. Really friendly bar staff and the meal we had today was superb. Easily one of the best pies I’ve ever had. There isn’t a huge menu and only appear to serve food two days a week, but bear in mind, this is a community pub and not a chain that can afford waste

Real good local boozer, food is really worth the money and tastes great with a good portion size, Bar staff really friendly and the owner is very welcoming and a good quiz master. Would recommend.

A very cosy pub, very quite for a Friday afternoon. We were made to feel very welcomed by the bar girl and everyone. I would recommend a visit when in the area. Even for a quick drink and very basic pub grub. The place appears to be nicely renovated.

Fantastic, dog friendly, local pub. Great atmosphere and delicious food, clearly popular with locals too. We have been a number of times, mainly for Sunday lunch or a few swiftie's when staying nearby at Pencnwc holiday park. Went again last Sunday as a large group (6 adults and 2 children), and it didn't disappoint. Staff always very pleasant and welcoming. Service was superb and the food just as good. Highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area, we will definitely be back.
Gareth D — Google review
This is a proper pub, a good reason to go out. The food is simple and excellent just as I ordered. The beer was proper quality, all we wanted after a very tough day. Then the entertainment came on, the gent sang all my favourite songs so well that I thought the first two songs were the original recordings, ears are getting old, but it was very good. I predict that man will will go far. A great pub with great staff and dog friendly.

We stayed at the caravan park just round the corner and spent a Sunday afternoon here. Friendly staff, decent beer and the Sunday lunches looked fantastic and I wished we’d have booked in for one. I believe you’ve just taken over this place, don’t change a thing, we loved it being a ‘proper’ pub!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at the Penrhiwgaled Arms on Friday. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and welcoming — it’s the perfect place to unwind. The food was outstanding; honestly, the lasagne was the best I’ve ever had! If you’re traveling with a camper van or motorhome, it’s a brilliant spot to stay overnight too. They kindly offer the use of their car park, all they ask is that you purchase some food or drink — which you’ll definitely want to do because everything is so delicious. Highly recommend a visit!

Lovely little out of the way pub, came to quay West haven for a holiday and ended up at this establishment. Staff were very friendly and accompanying. Great food and well sized portions. Great to have a car park just around the back that connected to a play area and another entrance to the pub, would highly recommend.

We had dinner and drinks here our first night of holiday ! Nigel made us feel so very welcome and invited us to sit in main bar with “ the locals” we had a good chat and a giggle and felt most welcome . We were invited back for the quiz next day but unfortunately we didn’t make it as we were travelling? Which was a real shame ! The food was great and they did not skimp on portions . We have just spent the weekend at this lovely boutique hotel on the seafront. A very warm welcome from all the staff in the team and this continued throughout the stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was beautifully presented and super clean. There is a lovely bar and eating area at reception. We shall definitely be returning. Many thanks to Gareth, Hannah and all the team.

Highly recommend a stay at Gwesty Cymru Hotel! We've booked late on a Monday night and been treated like regulars. Such a warm an loving welcome by a young stuff member. Who showed us our room. Told us about the city and shared information what to see and what to miss out on. The room is Modern, clean and cozy as the rest of the interior of the hotel. The breakfast is served fresh and direct from the kitchen. I was fortunate enough to be greeted by the young chef and another very friendly staff member. It's all about personalities and care with this hotel. The location is spot on. For tourists a lovely place to stay, it's located right at the promenade. And the bar at the ground floor looked very modern and lovely. The drinks menu is great but not overwhelming. It seems that People put a lof of thought into the overall appearance and service of the hotel. I can't stress it enough, how welcoming the stuff was and how well put together this hotel is. Thank you very much for your care. We will definitely pop by again!

If you're looking for a vibrant spot in Aberystwyth, The Hoptimist is definitely worth a visit. This lively bar stays open until 11 PM every night, making it a favorite among students and locals alike. During our weekend getaway, we stopped by for drinks and were greeted by the friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
We were in Aber for the weekend and we popped in for a drink during the day. The barmaid was very friendly and the drinks were reasonable so we popped back at night for a few drinks before going back to the hotel. It was nice to be in a pub with a local feel despite being a couple of hours away from home. I'd recommend a mute button for the karaoke though because I'm still having nightmares about a couple of the singers ha.

My Girlfriend and I tried Aberystwyth Whetherspoons after their renovations, but found the place was exactly the same and their menu was awful, so we decided to cross the road and try Lord Beechings Pub. We had attempted to eat out here a few weeks prior but they had stopped serving food early on the Sunday. My Girlfriend and I ordered the starter sharer which was £9.99 (picture included) and was absolutely stunning. The Thai chicken skewers were tender and soft and tasted amazing, the cheesy GB was just lovely, the Cajun onion rings were different, every single bit of it was delicious. She had the Hunters chicken for her main and I had the Steak and Ale pie. I'm not a fan of that kind of pastry (which was crumbly), I prefer flaky pastries, however this was delicious! We also had 2 Desserts, A Jaffa cake sundae which was stunning, and she had fudge cake, which was light and spongy and she enjoyed it. We went for a Sat+Sun deal called 'Wallet Saver' where a main and dessert only cost £9.99. so we had a 3 course meal and 3 Drinks (1 alcoholic and 2 pints of Coke) and it came to just under £35. What a bargain, especially considering the quality of the food. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as staff were also very friendly, and the Pub also allows DOGGOS. 10/10 REALLY ENJOYED.

Amazing deal of 2 mains for £10 and the food was so tasty! I asked for an extra and the chef asked me how I'd like it with my meal and so customer service was great. Nice, calm atmosphere and visually satisfying inside. Good portions also, left feeling full!

I ordered the lasagne, spicy chips and garlic bread on Deliveroo. First off the guy came 15 minutes earlier than the estimated time, a very nice chap, food was piping hot. Lasagne and garlic bread was an easy 10/10, chips were an 8.5/10, they were a little burnt but still nice

Quite a good Pub in the centre of Aberystwyth, it's pretty big inside with lots of tables and seating 👍. Service is good and Staff are friendly 👍. Well worth spending this money after a long day of beach and holiday. The menu is layer out in an authentic manner and the burgers are customisable and delicious. Staff really friendly. Great local feel. 5stars.

Sadly, although the chap tried his best to help us and was very friendly, this pub didn't live up to our expectations based on other reviews. We went on a Saturday evening in July and there was hardly anyone in there. 4 of the 5 of us wanted steak, but they only had 2 left. Apparently the steaks were quite good. The other 3 of us chose a build your own burger. They were served in an awful plastic basket; two were actually missing the beef patties. The barman apologised and brought replacements, but it was just too late. Disappointed, cos the reviews were so good.

The Teifi Inn, a pub located in an undisclosed location, seems to offer an intriguing dining experience. One customer mentions their spontaneous visit and the availability of takeout options on a Tuesday. They were warmly welcomed and promptly ordered burgers, which arrived surprisingly quickly. The affordability of the meal was commended, with a particular emphasis on the tastiness and size of the chicken burger. The reviewer shows appreciation for the flavors as they themselves work in culinary arts.
Cosy, local pub. Welcoming and friendly staff, and the Sunday lunch is plentiful, with different meat options and home-cooked, fresh sides of vegetables. For £9 for a small plate, and £13-16 for a large, it is great value for money.

What a fantastic place. We've been a few times recently for the Sunday lunch which is incredible. The portion size is huge and the quality of the food is excellent. They brought more gravy in fact they actually offered to bring more we didn't even need to ask. Good choice of beers. Guinness. Wines. The fire was lit so it was lovely and cosy. Free wifi. Family friendly - my daughter loved the toys & colouring books. Dog friendly. We would highly recommend.

I don't ever review, and think this is a first! I drove up in the car this evening with a friend as a spur of the moment, oooh it's Tuesday ooo teifi are doing takeaway and I haven't tried it yet! As we came in and were well greeted at the bar we ordered burgers and were told it would be about 20 minutes, now either the 20 minutes went past super fast or the food was even faster than that! With that we paid about £20 which is great! The burgers themselves were rather delicious, being a chef myself I could really appreciate the flavour there was in the chicken burger and it was huge! Thank youu! Will be back!

Cosy place, sister bar to Bottle & Barrel but with live entertainment. Great choice of drinks that are regularly changed. The Vault and The Barrel have to be the best bars in Aberystwyth, drinks aren't cheap, but so many ever changing drinks to try with very high percentages, so small serving are sold not pints when over 8%. Because of its diversity and uniqueness it doesn't get over crowded with ****heads like other well known chain pubs. So if you want friendly, cosy, good service and enjoy ales visiting is a must.
