Nestled in the charming area of Chickerell, The Lugger Inn is a delightful traditional pub that offers a cozy atmosphere and casual dining. Just a short stroll from the stunning Jurassic Coast, this inn features 13 comfortable rooms equipped with satellite TV and tea-making facilities. Guests can indulge in delicious meals at the on-site restaurant or unwind with a drink at the bar, which boasts an impressive selection of local ales, ciders, and whiskies.
Went to The Lugger Inn for a family "do". It's a lovely big pub with a pleasant maze of rooms, some cozy and others larger for buffet groups. The staff were so warm and welcoming. Made everyone feel at home and were attentive but not intrusive. We had a buffet which was excellent. Wish I'd had time to try the actual menu. Good selection of beers and spirits at the bar. They also have accomodation rooms available which I didn't try as was only in a day trip to Weymouth. If you need WiFi they have that free too. The location of The Lugger is a little hidden. But that adds to its charm. Next time I get down that way I will make sure to stop there and try the things I missed this visit.

Third visit to The Lugger Inn and they did not disappoint. Liam and his staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. The food was incredible and reasonably priced. My friend and I really enjoyed the live bands that played over the weekend. Warm and inviting atmosphere all round. Looking forward to our next visit.
Adrienne M — Google review
The food was great in the bar and served in a reasonable amount of time. Our room was ok, the en suite was very small and could have done with a good clean. Toiletries were supplied and towels, (but quite small) we slept quite well even though the pub was still open when we went to bed.
Sylvia R — Google review
Great hospitality, Liam made a wonderful coffee and bacon roll before they were properly open, for a tired walker in need of a boost! Sorry not to have been able to stay longer, clearly a wonderful community pub/restaurant/social hub.
Daragh F — Google review
Stayed for 3 nights was really pleased with the room, very clean and cosy and the bathroom was lovely, my only criticism is that i think a handrail in the bath/shower would be useful as i felt a bit unsteady when i showered but everything else was spot on, we ate in the restaurant the first evening and the food was that good we decided to eat there every evening rather than eating while we were out. All meals were perfect and the portions large including the childrens meals and prices were really good, will certainly stay there again next time we visit weymouth.

Super tasty Roast Dinner. Great selection of Meats and freshly roasted potatoes and veggies. The homemade gravy is delicious. Highly recommend this Roast Dinner My favourite roastie the best!
Julia R — Google review
Food was good, reasonable price and staff friendly. Would recommend this for Sunday Roast.. Parking was a little hairy as I have a big van but if U have a car plenty of room in the car park
Miranda W — Google review
Ok the room was nice that's about. Will one night was ok...food was vile. To taste to it. Drinks were pretty dead really for somewhere out of town. Chef came out to see his family was wiping his sweat into his chef gear. To top it off we could not even get into the place on our 2nd night we were locked out. We had to sleep in the car. Do not stay here and definitely do not eat here. Really bad.. I've had to give this place a 1 star but it should be nothing. This place sucks.

Seafood restaurant
Nestled on the Jurassic Coast, Crab House Café is a charming seafood restaurant in Weymouth. The rustic seaside hut offers a laid-back atmosphere and upscale fresh seafood dishes at reasonable prices. Overlooking the Portland Coast and Chesil Beach, it specializes in serving fresh local crab on large wooden boards with all the necessary accessories. Additionally, it boasts its own oyster beds just in front of the cafe, ensuring that diners enjoy the freshest seafood experience possible.
Had dinner here yesterday and it was incredible! The food, the service and the atmosphere were all top notch! The staff were all lovely and really accommodating, and couldn't do enough to make sure we had a memorable meal. The food was so so good - I had the half crab with no idea of how to crack it, but the waiting team helped me out with some tips, and I got there in the end! Would definitely recommend!

Honestly, 3rd year in a row we have been here and it never disappoints. Once again we were lucky enough to get the table for 2 next to the pass, so we saw everyone else’s dishes as well as our own. Crab and sardine starters were superb, my wife’s stuffed sole was great, my lobster came in a bowl of the most delicious liquid I have ever tasted. It’s great to find a seafood restaurant that just does seafood, and there are always multiple things that temp on a changing menu. You will need to book ahead (we took a guess when we would be sailing in to Portland and adjusted our trip to make sure we could be here). If you love seafood you will love this place. And every single person we interacted with here were professional, enthusiastic and friendly.

My wife and stepsons took me out for my birthday dinner. Fantastic food, great service and absolutely perfect ambience. Lovely rustic chic and brilliant food. The only disappointment was my wife's bellini. Tasted great but presentation was a bit off. Food still gets 5 stars because it was absolutely phenomenal. We came all the way from Southampton just off this meal and we were not let down at all.

Been coming here for over 20 years, since it was Abbotsbury Oysters, love the food, the oysters, the atmosphere and great service too. Friendly atmosphere, I recommend booking to guarantee a table. Plenty of seating areas to chose from and some are also dog friendly. The menu is full of choice which makes decisions difficult!

Never disappoints! Hits the spot every time! Outstanding choice, value, food, location, service and atmosphere. Food is incredible. This is a very very special place. You can feel it as soon as you walk in. There is no other restaurant like it. My absolute favourite in the whole of the UK.

Fantastic varied menu, incredible wine list, beautiful setting and amazing staff. The food was sensational and every member of staff was so friendly, attentive and professional. Highly recommend this lovely place.
Louise H — Google review
This place is amazing, the atmosphere the staff the restaurant deco & the food is fantastic. Recommend to book & go, if walk in then no chance of getting a table. Good quality sea food is served here. All we ate was delicious & really very good. We ate oysters, Lobster & the spicy Japanese Crab
Danita F — Google review
We went for lunch unplanned at the last minute and were totally blown away by how perfect and fresh every single dish was. The staff are all genuinely lovely people as well. A very rare 10 out of 10 dining experience. My wife and both spoke about how delicious the food was all the way home and would highly recommend this restaurant. We had the spicy crab, soul fish, scallops with wild garlic butter and some delicious oysters. Followed by a trio of desserts. Every dish was fantastic! All the other dishes coming from the kitchen looked equally as delicious.

Rendezvous in Weymouth, located next to the town bridge, is a multi-level venue offering dining and drinking facilities. It's known for its great brunch options and tasty cocktails. The place has a friendly vibe with excellent customer service. The venue also offers a pleasant ambiance with chill music and beautiful views of the harbor. Additionally, Rendezvous impresses with its fast WiFi and delicious vegetarian breakfast options.
Went here for our first ever bottomless brunch and it was such an amazing experience. The staff were wonderful, our glasses were never empty before our server was asking us what we wanted next, the food and the cocktails were absolutely beautiful. Would highly recommend going here for food and drink as I can not fault the place at all will definitely be going back when I visit weymouth again. Thank you so much to our server and all the other staff 😊

Some nice vegan options. The mushroom tacos and cauliflower wings were the best (both very tasty and filling). Tuesday's they have a cheap wings deal so you can get quite a lot. It was very quite on a Tuesday night, so no issues getting a table or being served.

We visited in a quiet Monday afternoon for a soft drink. Staff pleasent and efficient. Plenty of seating inside and out with views over harbour. Saw others ordering food which looked good. We had large lemonade and blackcurrant drinks for only £2 each. Looks like it's a popular night spot. Toilets up loads of stairs and small with broken locks no good if you have mobility issues.
Melly K — Google review
Rhy and Kyle were both very attentive and lovely. Rhy kept us topped up the whole two hours. She was so lovely and enthusiastic. I came here for bottomless brunch for a date and it was my first time at bottomless brunch. Wow. Such good value for money. And a view of the harbour from the window! Thank you xx

Had a great pub meal. Very fast service Tables and chairs very dated and dirty table and glass but apart from that its a food pub to visit

Impeccable service. The staff were friendly and fun but also professional. The food was so good, probably one of the best burger and fries I've eaten out (mind you i do usually only go to spoons) The cocktails were really fantastic, they looked great and tasted even better. I would 100percent recommend the bottomless brunch for value. The view of the harbour was beautiful. We had a fantastic time. Thank you to the staff in Weymouth for looking after us teachers and assistants yesterday. Can't wait to return. See you again soon (sorry, in advance!🤣)

All around an amazing experience in the food service and the view looking over the river. My partner has a dairy allergy and struggles just about everywhere but this place has quite possibly the best vegan menu I have ever seen. Had Ruben as our bar and service he was very helpful and got us the best seat in the house overlooking the river with the doors open. and then helped us out with the allergy sheet and was more than happy to awnser any and all of are questions. Thanku!!! Would highly recommend especially if allergies are an issue.

The George Bar & Grill is a waterfront steakhouse restaurant and bar housed in an updated brick building with mezzanine level tables. The menu features a variety of dishes made with home-grown produce, including burgers, salads, pizzas, and a famous grill selection. Vegetarian options like Vegetarian Paella and Halloumi steak are also available. The outdoor seating area at the Smugglers Inn is open for up to six people to book in advance on the pub's website.
Dog Friendly. Fabulous Carvery on Easter Sunday. Excellent choice of meats, especially the melt in the mouth beef. Wonderful selection of veg and a rich tasty gravy. I Pre-booked our table online, hassle free with an instant response confirming booking. You are also able to add special requests or requirements as you book. Really nice ambience clean and tidy despite being very busy. We were blessed with polite & friendly staff who were extremely good at their job. I couldn't recommend The George more but booking is definitely advisable.

Absolutely stunning carvery. Beef was cooked perfectly, huge portion of meat, all the trimmings included, crackling incredible, all the veg was fresh and well cooked, banging toasties. To top it off every member of staff was so lovely. The host who Sat us down was chatty and friendly, the young lad on the carvery had a really nice chat and really seemed to care, the waiting staff were all so attentive and helpful. A great venue with great food all served by a great team.

A nice bar on the harbour for food and drink. We had the Mexicana chicken burger which was okay for the price we paid. We also had tacos for starter which were good and the perfect size for a starter. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Our food came out very quick between starter and main, not leaving us a lot of time to digest and our main was slightly overcooked meaning the chicken was chewy. However, having said that we would go back but not get the burger again (altho that would probably be our option as the menu felt limited).

Super friendly atmosphere all staff are lovely and have a great sense of humour, came here months ago for a meal and was wonderful, returned for a cocktail afternoon and was absolutely delighted. Had a strawberry daiquiri which can be a bit sour where I regularly drink but this was WONDERFUL staff were a great laugh while making them and was all round a wonderful experience as always

Couldn't fault it. We were met with a friendly greeting at the door and shown to our table with lovely views over the harbour. We were served by friendly, attentive and professional staff. All 5 in our party thought the food was excellent and then we had some excellent live music to round off a thoroughly enjoyable evening! Perfect!

Wow! What a sensational steak and ale pie! Absolutely immense! Fully packed pie; tasty and full of flavour. The red wine gravy elevated the dish! Lots to eat. You definitely won’t leave short changed with this dish!

Lovely food. We had the Cheese and Bacon Burger, and the Katsu Chicken Burger. The food was really nice. The staff were lovely and friendly, despite being busy. Would definitely come back, but think the menu could be expanded

Disappointing for a Greene king. Your standard Greene king set up , menu, and prices but Disappointingly drab and run down, it's filthy, and the fixtures and fittings are in need of replacement / upgrading. Toilets leaking and dirty doors and handles need a really good clean. Inculding the doors to enter the pubs that have dirty handles and glass. Smoking area could do with weeding and a sweep of cigarette butt's and rubbish. Sorry, but this visit was disappointing and won't be retuning to this venue in a rush.
Daniel L — Google review
One of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. We picked this restaurant because it was advertised online as having a kids’ play area, which turned out to be false. When we asked the waitress for colouring sheets or even plain paper and pencils, she bluntly said no and walked away. My partner had to go to a nearby pound shop to buy some things to keep the children busy. Ten minutes later, the waitress brought freshly printed colouring pages to another table. When I asked if we could have some as well, she reluctantly gave one sheet per child and said she would give the rest to other tables first. She never returned and we never got any pens or pencils. For family-friendliness, I would give this place zero stars. The food was just as bad. Three of us ordered the Sunday roast with beef. Instead of telling us they had run out, they tried to stretch what little was left across three plates. Each of us got just two tiny slices of beef, barely the size of a drinks coaster. The roast potatoes were rock hard and had a horrible smell, clearly from being cooked in old oil that must have been sitting for days. It was insulting. Another meal, a bacon and cheese burger was served with a bun that looked stale and like it had been taken from back of a shelf. When the waiter asked if everything was alright, I said “so-so,” expecting at least a follow-up. Instead, he just turned and walked away. Both the food and the service deserve zero stars. To make the experience even worse, while we were still eating, the waiter put a board on our table saying the table was reserved from 4 pm and we had to leave by 3.30 pm. I was speechless. As paying customers, we should never be told to cut short our meal. If I choose to stay until 7 pm, continuing to order food and drinks, that should be my decision – not theirs. It was rude, unprofessional, and unacceptable. This place is a disgrace to the Greene King chain. The food portions were ridiculous, the service was dismissive, and families are clearly not welcome. I would never return, and I genuinely do not understand how this restaurant has managed to achieve a four-star rating.
Adam M — Google review
Dropped in for a late lunch on Sunday. The steak and ale pie was amazing and the portion size was generous without being too much. Served by cheerful staff ( Jenny and leigh ) and I will look forward to visiting again in the near future 😀

We had a really good lunch on Tuesday. We were made so welcome, helped with gluten free menu selection. There were six of us, and we had a lovely table together with space to chat with each other. The food was first class. Thank you for a great time.
Sandy C — Google review
Lovely pub. The steak and ale pie was absolutely superb, I had it with chips and garden peas. Big plus for me was that the gravy was served separately, many places slosh it on whether you want it or not. Service good, and atmosphere good, and beer good. No problem with toilets except the fact that they were upstairs, which was not a problem for me. I was told that they do a Sunday carvery, I expect it will be good I will return!

Fish and seafood restaurant
French restaurant
Restaurant Les Enfants Terribles is a charming and unpretentious bistro in Weymouth, specializing in fresh seafood with a French influence. The head chef, Eric Tavernier, brings 30 years of culinary experience to the table, ensuring expertly cooked and beautifully presented dishes. The menu features locally caught fish and seasonal selections like fresh oysters from Poole and dressed crab from Portland.
Fantastic food by chef Eric who took the time to connect with us. Wonderful experience!
Teodora T — Google review
All the food were fine and delicious, the signature fish was delicious (except the chips are bit soft and wet), but we waited for a very long time. That was 30 mins for starter and 1 hour between starter and main course. Obviously there wasn’t enough staff and the restaurant could potentially go to a higher level from better staffing-system. However the chef and the waitress were both lovely people. And was still happy to had our dinner here.
NA F — Google review
The service was particularly slow this evening, we understand it is cooked from fresh however we were there for 3 1/2 hours from starter to main. The seafood platter for £160 was okay. I think abit extortionate for the price. The seafood itself is cold and plainly dressed, which is okay, the seafood does the talking itself. The tomato salad was not good. It would’ve been delicious if higher quality tomatoes were used, however these tomatoes were clearly the cheap unripened type, firm and tasteless. Vine ripened tomatoes with more flavour would’ve worked lovely, quality ingredients were needed. For £7 a portion, it should’ve been premium ingredients. The green beans were nice, flavour was nice. Decent portion. For the price, I would expect the best quality and better service. Unfortunately I was not impressed. I frequently visit restaurants in London also and have spent similar £ on meals, I would not return again to this establishment.

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant for her 19th birthday, we aren’t very familiar with Weymouth however saw this restaurant was incredibly well rated on trip advisor so decided to take book a table! Upon our arrival we were the first seated, but not for long! All of the floor staff were friendly and attentive, Kirsty was very welcoming and took our drinks order promptly, the house white wine was really lovely and very reasonably priced for the taste I thought! Chef Eric then came over and explained the specials for the night, although we had pre ordered and were happy with our choices it was nice to have the option! Before our starters arrived we were given two glasses of bubbly as a gesture for the birthday girl and chef even sang happy birthday in French which we both agreed was very sweet and really made us feel special! I ordered the carrot and butternut squash veloute which was fantastic, perfectly seasoned and salted to contrast the natural sweetness of the ingredients, topped with a perfectly poached egg! My girlfriend had the terrine which she really enjoyed, the mushroom ketchup was a fantastic addition to the terrine! We then both enjoyed the dressed crab with fries for our main course, it was garnished with two different caviars which were rich and complimented the fresh crab perfectly, it came with two huge portions of home made fries and tomato salad which we both agreed was really tasty and brought the dish together fantastically! Overall it was a really special experience, very personal and friendly service, delicious food served in a quaint restaurant with fantastic atmosphere, we will be recommending and we will be back!

First visit to this restaurant. Service was a bit slow, but it does mention this on the menu. My pork belly was off the menu but was replaced with pork cheek WOW! It was wonderful. Restaurant is in a lovely part of Waymouth with lots going on around. Can get very expensive if your ordering starters mains and pudding so check menu online before you go will visit again when next in Weymouth.
Romeo F — Google review
My boyfriend and I visited Weymouth for the first time and I was told the seafood here was particularly good so we ordered the seafood platter for two. It was an amazing first experience of many things for him: oysters, crab, and lobster. We both really enjoyed it, and we were the only people in the restaurant at the time so we also appreciated the chill ambience and the very friendly service. The only thing that I will say is that it was a LOT of food. This is great as it was really good value for money but unfortunately it meant that a significant portion of our meal was discarded so it depends on your priorities!
Chickbea — Google review
Would like to give this a better review, but considering the overall price and the fact we were asked by the restaurant to choose from the menu ten days before we actually visited, I simply cannot give this any more than three stars. I believe that one of the kitchen staff did not turn up on the night we visited, so they were short staffed, with just one young lad serving the whole restaurant and Chef Eric helping at times. We were not asked if we would like any drinks on our arrival and after waiting at our tables for over ten minutes, we politely asked the waiter if we could be served some drinks who then took our orders, however another ten minutes went by and none of us had received our drinks. By now our starters had arrived, and the food was nice, and perfectly pleasant, but nothing more than that sadly. I had ordered six snails as a starter and unfortunately two of the snail shells were completely empty. For the price paid, this really should have been spotted by the chef. Our drinks finally arrived after everybody had finished their starters. The main meals we ordered were decent and the crab I ordered was cooked very well. However we had to ask the overworked and clearly inexperienced waiter if we could order another drink two more times, and still nothing had arrived. By now after being in the restaurant for over 90 minutes we just gave up. Two hours after originally arriving, Chef Eric came over to our table and then chatted to us about some of the desserts and wines on offer, and for the first time in the evening, it actually felt like we were valued or made welcome, and considering our table of six spent nearly £350, I dont think this is good enough personally, not that it should matter how much you have spent. I think the food here is good, and I appreciate that every business has its bad days, but the whole experience was a bit of an anti climax, it felt unprofessional, the front of house was poorly run and the general ambience of the restaurant suffered because of this. I also overheard Chef Eric get into a dispute outside with a group of customers when he asked them their opinions on their experience, and they were not particularly satisfied either. If you pay higher end prices in a restaurant you expect quality food, drink, service and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the only thing that resembled any quality that night was the food. I would try here again to see if it was just a bad night for them, but I have eaten at many other similar priced restaurants over the years and the vast majority have been better.
John C — Google review
As we live over 100miles away we only visit about two or three times a year but yet again Chef Eric and his staff have scored another full marks review. We had the squid to start with followed by the prawns for my wife and the mussels for myself. Dessert was the Honey Cake and a double cream with small berries accompanying it. All the dishes were absolutely superb as was the restaurant’s own bottle of Sauvignon Pays D’Oc. So good that we bought a bottle to take home. My wife who is one of the fussiest eaters in the World went to tell Chef Eric at the end that it was one of the best meals she’s ever had and we’ve eaten at many Michelin Star restaurants. 10/10 for the food, the staff and the ambience. No wonder we travel so far just to eat here and no wonder it wins best restaurant awards.

This is a typical pub with traditional decor, offering wide-ranging food to go with ales and ciders. It has two entrances in the town centre and is popular among locals. The William Henry offers good value for money, and is a good place to start or end your day in Weymouth.
Amazing service and lovely people! Their breakfast is very with the price, and the steak deal with a wine is an absolute banger! Don’t miss out the 2-5pm offer for lunch meals, it’ll be around 30% cheaper than usual for cod & chips and other lunch menus.

You can’t beat a Wetherspoons! This one is ideally located near the beachfront, with a huge range of drinks and great-quality food at really reasonable prices. The portions are generous too, which makes it fantastic value. It’s very popular, so getting a table can be tricky and you might have to wait a while — but it’s worth it. Service was great, the staff were friendly, and the food came out incredibly fast, piping hot and freshly cooked. The only downside is the rowdy crowd it can attract later in the evening. We ate early with the kids, which was perfect, but after 8pm it does get quite loud and lively. We’ll definitely be visiting again during our stay.

Great spoons, quick service and easy to order on the app. Great price for feeding the family. 5 mins from the beach and idea being on holiday.
Hug D — Google review
Better of the two 'Spoons' in the town as this one is a little further back from the riverfront so attracts less of a crowd. Not to say that it is empty, far from it, usually busy. There are two levels and the staff will direct you to an available table. Easy to order using the app and the drinks with meals are delivered to the table when all are ready. Prices are below average and the food often better than expected from a budget chain pub. No parking anywhere near but there are plenty of cafe's in the area if driving.

The service is excellent, polite and very quick. Convenient app used for orders. In terms of food quality nothing to complain honestly all fresh and good.

Great Food, Great Value – Highly Recommend! Wetherspoons is a lovely place to dine. We had breakfast there — it was very filling and incredibly affordable, especially with the added bonus of free drink refills. On another visit, we enjoyed coffee and lunch, and again the prices were very reasonable. The food is consistently delicious, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. It does get quite busy, so finding a table can be a bit tricky, but it’s definitely worth the wait. There’s also a lift available, which is helpful for anyone who might find stairs difficult. Overall, a fantastic place with great service and great value. Highly recommend!

One of the worst experiences of my life, went here for some food before we went to the clubs for my best friend's hen party and the place was far too loud for us to hear eachother the table next to us were having a seriously vulgar conversation whilst we were trying to eat our dinner. The food that was brought to us looked okay at first glance but the burger was seriously over cooked and when we tried to return it the staff member was too busy socialising with people at another table I understand the staff are human beings but talking with your friends should wait until after a costumer doesnt need you to take food back to the kitchen and when the food was taken back and returned it looked no different. The chicken I personally ate seemed fine as it was smothered in bbq sauce but it gave me extreme stomach ache to the point I spent the rest of the night in the bathroom back when we were staying and it left me in serious discomfort even now as I am writing this over 24 hours later I have a stomach ache and the drinks that were served here were absolutely awful we had done bottomless brunch that afternoon and they were no where near as tasty as the bottomless brunch cocktails, my best friend ordered a pitcher of a cocktail she had at the bottomless brunch and it tasted nothing like the one we had that afternoon. Will never return to this place again highly recommend staying far away from here as the drinks were just as bad as the food. Paid £50 for three meals and drinks to spend the rest of the night in a toilet and not be able to go out to the clubs with the rest of the hen party.

Often come to this pub when we are visiting Weymouth. The service is excellent, very quick. We always order using the app so it's very easy and convenient. The drink and food choices are very good and the quality of the food is excellent as well. For the price and service this place is hard to beat.

Ming Wah is a family-run restaurant with 18 years of experience, offering classic Peking and Cantonese recipes alongside British dishes. Despite its unassuming size, it has catered to a diverse clientele including dignitaries, food critics, and locals as well as international visitors. The restaurant is known for serving freshly cooked Chinese cuisine from various regions such as Cantonese, Szechuan, and Malaysian.
This place is definitely worth the money spent! The service is very good and the food is beautiful! I would most definitely return here again!

Generally fine food, well presented, a little pricey. We over-ordered on the rice by a long way. It would have been nice if the waiter had indicated this at the time of ordering. The satay sauce was tasty and slightly spicy, some of the best satay I’ve had. My egg fried rice was a little too sticky but still tasty. The ginger sauce with my chicken lacked flavour and punch. The restaurant had nice decor too. Unfortunately we were sitting near to a big pile of Just Eat boxes which maybe could have been kept at the back somewhere out of sight. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome.

7 of us called in around 9pm on a Thursday evening. We enjoyed an outstanding meal...all the 'classics' were on the menu. The service was quick and everyone thought the food was absolutely first-class. The only negative was no Saki! I would highly recommend this restaurant...excellent value.

We went to Weymouth last week to celebrate my hubby's birthday. And we had simple dinner with this restaurant. The food was great but the service was poor. Is it because we are Asian that’s why we are less priority. Because we didn’t have reservations at the restaurant still I ask the staff if they accept walk-in customers and the staff told us that they would have table available after 30 minutes. So, I told my husband to walk around while waiting for a table to be available. When we came back there was a couple behind me also asking for an available table and also they didn’t have a reservation for that restaurant. However, I came first and asked first for the table before them. To my surprise they gave the table to the couple behind me. Since it was my hubby’s birthday and he only wanted to eat rice for his bday. I insisted to the staff if they can give us table because we had informed earlier that the table would be available in 30 minutes and also saw one table for 2 near the entrance. The staff told us that they will find a table for us. Again I was surprised because the table was close to the toilet and also we noticed that they gave complimentary treats to all the guests apart from us. So we were just waiting for our food to be served.

Went on a Wednesday night, read the reviews and thought give it a go and what a disappointment. The food was not good the surroundings were poor, been to better restaurants in China, no table clothes on the tables, the carpet needed a good scrub. Just not good will not be visiting again. They probably don't read there reviews and if they did then maybe things would change. Also over priced.
Steve G — Google review
We visited as a group of 4 adults and all commented that the food was very tasty. We weren't t sure what to expect because we knew that the original owner had moved on and we has recently seen a few negative comments on Facebook. So we were all pleasantly surprised when we found that the food and service were all great! Sometimes I find with Chinese food that it doesn't fill me up but this wasn't the case. There were so many original vegetarian options to chose from that I could personally visit all week long and not get bored lol Prices seemed reasonable too, worked out at £30 a head including a drink each . I think the last time I visited here was about 30 years ago and in all honesty I had pretty much forgotten about the place! It's firmly back on my map now and I think next time i want to eat out I might bring the family n kids - the chopsticks and fortune cookies will go down a treat :-)

Absolutely shocking. My wife and I ordered a takeaway meal whilst on holiday in Weymouth, we ordered starters, chicken lettuce wraps for the second course along with main dishes and a rice, we eat out regularly and we do not mind spending money on nice / good food but I do not think that we have ever had such a poor quality meal. Please save your money and look elsewhere, nearly £70 wasted.

Well what an amazing find… this gorgeous little back street pub.. not too far from the madding crowds is so welcoming and cozy it surely must be the nicest pub in Weymouth if not the whole of Dorset. Without question the best steak pie I have ever had! My wife had the fisherman's pie, it was full of fish in a lovely white sauce. The homemade steak pie was large and came with mushy peas chips and gravy, in a separate gravy boat. The pie was packed full to the top with steak, it tasted delicious. Lovely crumbly pastry, if you like a steak pie and chips you have to try this, the best ever! The staff were attentive, I think we waited about 30 mins for the food to arrive but it was so worth it, all the food was piping hot throughout, not microwaved. We fully recommend The Red Lion as the place to eat traditional pub food in Weymouth, thank you.

Looks pretty but turned away 4 adults and 2 children from sitting outside just for a drink as the one child was under 5. Could not take the 3 year old to the toilet. So disappointing and unfriendly. Luckily Weymouth has public toilets nearby. All other pubs nearby have been wonderfully child friendly. Never returning to this pub but will definitely be returning to Weymouth.

Really nice pub near (but not overlooking) the harbour. Good menu, good food, good service. Only lost a star because having run out of whitebait for the big seafood platter I was told the chef would substitute something else in place and I guess he forgot (and the people I was with would prefer me not to risk making a fuss or I would have mentioned at the time). But over all it's a really great place and I'll be back.

Had a lovely Sunday roast and they catered to my big family of 12 with 3 of them being in highchairs. Very understanding and accepting of the 3 children with autism that make a lot of happy noises. Definitely recommend and always come back here whenever we're on holiday. The roast dinner was stunning and the gravy was proper thick gravy. Children's play area was so good, they also enjoyed seeing the fire engine in the garden. Thank you so much to the waitress with red hair, I didn't manage to catch her name but she was fab

Visited on 27 Jul 25 for Sunday Lunch and couldn’t have been more happy. Friendly service, reasonable prices and really good quality home cooked food. We had the trio of meat Sunday lunch for £17.99 and were very happy - really good portion sizes, plenty of veg inc Swede, carrot, red cabbage and cauliflower cheese and certainly more than enough for those with big appetites. I’d recommend those who don’t have big appetites chose a normal roast or maybe even the child portion - I like to eat and the trio was more than enough for me. Daughter has chicken nugget meal and it was lovely big chunks of chicken, good portion of chips and baked beans. Beer and Cider were good and priced ok. Seriously can’t fault this place and would like to highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Big shout out to all the friendly staff, especially Miles who was an excellent ambassador for the pub. Thanks Spice Ship, 10/10.

Came to see friends on Saturday who were entertaining that evening. We stayed overnight in Room 6. Which was cute, cosy, clean, comfortable bed/pillows, modern small shower room with soft towels, toiletries & hairdryer. There was tea/coffee/water/biscuits too. Also a full length mirror & plenty of phone charge/socket points! We slept really well & then had a lovely full English breakfast. Staff were always friendly & welcoming. Dinner the previous evening was good too, with lots of options. I would definitely recommend The Spice Ship & definitely stay again. Thanks 🤩

Nook Cocktail Club was a fun place to have a few drinks whilst on holiday in Weymouth. The drinks were lovely and staff pleasant. Claire and I just popped in to have a look to see what the Nook was like. It is amazing and for a Tuesday evening waa fairly busy. And to be honest, if the Nook had more than one member of staff working that night, we would have stayed for at least two more cocktails each. You have a fantastic business, guys. we believe you are missing out on keeping customers due to the lack of staff on shift. Only claire and mine opinion guys, apart from that, we will pop in every time we are in Weymouth and that, on average, is 5 times per year. I do hope we haven't offended you. We absolutely love your place . Best Regards cliare and clive

Good quality, massive choice of cocktails and friendly service, bartenders were very efficient and welcoming. Good music being played too from what seemed to be a quality sound system, overall a good atmosphere with a lovely view and nice outside space! However my girlfriend and I both agreed that the toilets let the place down. Working in a nightclub and having managed a pub myself I know what it’s like going in the loos at the end of the night and it looking like a gross bomb had landed and regretting your job choices, but it was 6pm on a Sunday and you could smell the loos before you saw them there was chunky sick all over one of the cubicles in the ladies and the gents was covered in urine and the lock on the cubicle had been booted off causing me to be disturbed multiple times during my bathroom break haha! Luckily we both have a good sense of humour so still enjoyed our visit but felt if the loos were as well presented as the venue we would have wanted to stay for more drinks. We will definitely return though when we are next in Weymouth!

Great welcome. Mums in a electric wheelchair. Front of house manageress said give me 5 minutes. A table was joined together. My steak cooked perfectly. Only fault was spicy Korean burger was not spicy (everyone has different tolerance to spice). Thank you to all the staff.

Food awful, burgers drier than Ghandis flip flops and just as tough, burnt macaroni balls, soggy mushrooms, burger buns cracked under finger pressure. Ordered passion fruit martinis, brought to table but no prosecco. When queried they'd run out but couldn't inform us that while ordering so £13:00 for 2 half cocktails made with concentrate. Blue lagoon advertised with sugar free lemonade....don't have any!!! At this point we mentioned how rubbish the food was and were told by the manager that things had indeed gone wrong but they were tired after a busy weekend!! No point any apology offered. Lewis, the Scottish server, was the one shining light in that place and was very sympathetic. We were going for breakfast as staying at the Premier, but quickly decided against it. Luckily for us there is an amazing cafe "The Weymouth Bay Coffee Co" which is inbetween the hotel and the sea life centre. Amazing service and the best breakfast had in some time!

Worst food I've ever had at a brewers fayre chef must be on YTS as can't cook a steak medium or cook sausages absolutely vile wouldn't feed the food to a dog when I complained 1 sausage and another over cooked steak was brought out which i had to drown in pepper corn sauce to actually swallow. Only bonus the floor staff were helpful pity the chef couldn't cook a total waste of £22 for my meal DONT order mixed grills they're uneatable

Shockingly poor. Low quality food which took >45 minutes to arrive. This image is what claims to be Chicken Katsu Curry. It was nothing more than boiled rice with chicken dippers, splashed with curry sauce.. £13! The kids pizza resembled something pre-made from Aldi. To top the experience off, we had to pay £4.50 for the children to use the soft play area.. which was a new concept. Safe to say we’ll not be back. Hopefully this performance won’t be sustainable for much longer which will force them to improve, or close.

Well what can I say went in with a fancy for fish and chips. Ordered at bar.pleasant enough. Service with a smile. Haddock and chips came out...and here is the reason I am giving 1 star for service... the waitress actually brought this from the kitchen to the table the FISH BATTER WAS SO OVERCOOKED AND FULL OF OIL. THE MUSHY PEAS WERE AS DRY AS AN ARABS TRAINER. Now she was not blind because she did not fall over anything. Or walk into any tables.......so she must have seen the state of the food and still decided to serve this to a customer. Worst fish and chips I have ever had did not send it back because I have seen what happens to food when a replacement comes out of the kitchen and the chef is not happy at having to do another plate of food. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.

This is the *smothered* platter at the lodmoor brewers fayre for a birthday meal. What a shocking dissapointment. I dont even see a drip of sauce let alone smothered... when asking the server where the missing sauce was he just didnt care. Responded like I was the most boring person ever and he didnt care about being there. When enquiring about the rest of the tables missing sides and meal items he just dismissed it like we hadn't paid for it all. Then when he finally came out with the missing bits, it wasnt even the right stuff!!! Eventually after telling him I myself have worked in a kitchen and I would expect my staff to be able to read and follow a simple instruction. He shuffled off and finally brought everything over. But his idea of enough sauce for a smothered platter was just a tablespoon worth... Keep your fingers crossed for me and guaranteed food poisoning this weekend.

I recently visited The Springhead pub and was absolutely blown away by the incredible food and atmosphere! The juicy burger was one of the best I've ever tasted - perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The kofta was equally delicious, boasting a delightful blend of spices that left me wanting more. Took ages for the meal to arrive although there were only us and one more table in there. My sea bass with Mediterranean veg was delicious. My granddaughter was not so keen on her Mac and cheese! Not cheap. I paid £3 for one sausage for my dog which arrived freezing cold. They gave us a menu and said they'd be back to take our order. We waited so long we thought we must have misheard and ordered at the bar. Same thing happened with our dessert order. The pub was virtually empty so they weren't busy! Dog friendly pub with some quirky dog portraits in a lovely setting by a stream. Small car park.

Called in for Sunday lunch. The Sunday Roast was excellent. The meat was tender. Only downside was that the Cauliflower Cheese was rather Al Dente, hard. The service was good and made to feel welcome. We sat outside next to a Doggy party! Eight one year old dogs having a get together with their Mum. It was fun seeing them all together for their birthday. The Pub is in a beautiful location and was 'very' busy but the staff made it all run smoothly. Definitely going back. Nestled in a charming coastal location overlooking Weymouth Bay, The Dorset Burger Company offers a contemporary rustic setting to savor chargrilled burgers crafted from locally sourced ingredients. This family-friendly establishment is conveniently situated near various attractions and boasts a spacious beer garden with stunning sea views. Their menu features 28-day-aged Aberdeen Angus beef burgers, as well as pork, chicken, and meat-free options to cater to diverse preferences.
Some of the best burgers we've had. Would highly recommend the Dirty Moo burger, especially if you like pulled pork. My only critique/recommendation would be to have a more descriptive menu, as some of us were confused whether the burgers have a beef patty in them or not, as it was not explicitly mentioned for some of them.
Fotis A — Google review
Really enjoyed the food, the milkshake especially was a treat. The chicken burger was delicious but could maybe have had a bit more salad etc to make it feel more substantial - the beef burger was fine on this score. Some slight constructive criticism is that most 'premium' burger restaurants tend to have great presentation of the food as well, whereas here felt like fairly standard pub-type plating up. Didn't affect our enjoyment of the food though!

Wonderful place to have dinner after eventful day of exploring Dorset coastline. We were amazed by the vegan menu in this place, as well as by very friendly stuff. Homemade patties for vegan burgers are amazing. Also, they serve delicious black olives. And personally, I do you like the way they organize furniture in the dining area; all those mismatching chairs around tables, it looks very cozy.

A good burger joint, The menu is great woth plenty of choice for meat eaters and non meat eaters too. Beer prices are in my opinion over the top for the beers on offer, off shore is £6.70 a pint as are others I'd except something a little more intresting at that price. Staff work incredibly hard and efficiently massive respect to them. It's a large venue and the noise is painful along with dim lighting I don't think I could return and mange the headache it gave me. Food was good and tasty and came out in good time and hot. Burger buns very soft. Cocktail choice is slim. Toilets very good and clean. Wouldn't return but absolutely recommend giving it a visit.

amazing food, good quality beef and fast service but not in a cheap fast food way, definitely made with love! Quick service but never felt rushed. The servers are super friendly, bearded man with glasses and tatts is an absolutely lovely chap, dessert menu was drool worthy! Lovely clean spacious toilets and beautiful interior decor of the place, wish we weren't just passing through so we could visit again!

The best burger I’ve ever had. If you’re a burger fan then this place is a must! The burger was to die for I had the “dirty moo” the meat was seasoned perfectly and the bun was the perfect amount of bread to the burger. All five of us were super impressed. A good range of bitters for my husband so he was happy. It wasn’t overly expensive, but for the quality I expected it to be more expensive than it was.
Katey H — Google review
The Dorset Burger Company specialise in one thing, as you’d expect, and full respect to them for doing that. For food and atmosphere chances are you’ll come away feeling well fed and content, with a few reservations. The burgers are cooked very well. I just feel there is some room for improvement to elevate the other elements in line with the quality of the meat. Firstly, I think there’s a little too much salt used. Secondly, the sauces that come with the burger are fine, but with my burger didn’t really cut through. I feel my burger lacked cheese, which would have helped the whole taste experience. Thirdly the buns seemed to lack substance and go a little soggy where they touched the burger toppings. Maybe a layer of cheese or better quality buns would help with this. The coleslaw is distinctly average. The service is generally fine from clearly hard working staff coping with a large venue. There was a little hiccup when they bought the wrong bill to our table. In summary, if you like burgers, go online and check out the menu.

Just amazing, this has to be my new best burger place. Ordered the Dirty Moo Burger. It was cooked perfectly, juicy crispy and full of flavour. The staff were really friendly and attentive with multiple waitress checking everything was fine for us. Topped everything off with a brownie and ice cream dessert, which was completely covered with chocolate. Yum. A well deserved 5 star and a top recommendation!

The Ship Inn Weymouth is a charming split-level pub located on the quayside, offering a unique atmosphere with bookshelves and storm lamps. Over the years, it has undergone changes including the addition of an upstairs restaurant boasting stunning views of Weymouth Harbour and a sunny courtyard. As part of the Hall & Woodhouse family since 1856, this picturesque pub offers an eclectic global menu.
Book in advance on a very sunny weekend. Was very quite indoors as people where enjoying the sun but we were a table of 9. Quick service, cool interior, friendly(ish) waiter, good menu and good food. Absolutely amazing location and plenty of seating!! Would absolutely recommend and go back!

An unexpected delight! We had not planned to eat at The Ship but changed our mind at the last minute. Expectations were not high; we were so delighted with the food, well done The Ship! On a super busy bank holiday weekend, the staff were outstanding, the food was delicious (the presentation wasn’t brilliant but this was forgiven as the flavour was amazing) and the location can’t be beaten! Well worth a visit, would strongly suggest you book!

Came in with 12 people as part of a dive visit. The people were lovely and the beer selection was superb. It was all badger beers but the choices were excellent. Was looked after by Laura and she was excellent. Good recommendations and advice. When I am back I'll be revisiting!

We booked a table at The Ship Inn today after missing out yesterday when it was packed for the bank holiday weekend. The place itself looks great — interesting décor and a perfect spot right in the middle of the harbour. There’s a good choice of beers and ciders, although unfortunately two had already run out by the time we ordered. When it came to food, we were looking forward to it after reading the reviews, but the experience was a bit hit and miss. The adult meals arrived after about 20 minutes, but the kids’ meals and a couple of sides were forgotten until we asked at the bar. The food was okay, but the portions were on the small side and looked even smaller on oversized plates. I still felt hungry after my mushroom burger, and the kids weren’t keen on the veggie sausages in their bangers and mash. It’s a shame, as we were excited to try it, but hopefully next time we’re in Weymouth it’ll be a better experience.

Just had a wonderful roast beef dinner. Generous portion of quality beef (topside). Super selection of fresh veg ( red cabbage, roast carrot & parsnip, peas & leeks potatoes and enormous Yorkshire pudding.

We reserved a table for Sunday lunch. The booking process was easy through website. The waitress was in a rush and seemed to be in a bad mood. A personable smile could go a long way of making customers feel at ease. Food service was extremely slow, took around 40 min to arrive. The roast pork did not come with crackling as advertised in the menu. The food was lukewarm. Overall quite disappointed with our dining experience. The location of pub is easy to find - good place to stop for a drink or two. Would not recommend to eat in there, it’s expensive for the quality of food and service.

Beautiful setting by the harbour. Restaurant upstairs was perfect for a family evening meal. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious- would highly recommend visit
Hannah H — Google review
Disappointing dining experience here. Atmosphere is nice, staff are pleasant and selection of beers and ales are good. It was Sunday so we ordered Roast dinners but were told they had paused the Roasts. So ordered fish pie to be told this wasn’t available. Finally settled for burgers. The burger I had was incredibly disappointing. Despite a previous review from another customer, nothing has been learnt. The burger was small in size, burnt patties and barely any burger sauce. The chips tasted like they’d been oven cooked and lacked seasoning. For £16 this was a complete rip off.

Seafood restaurant
Crustacean is a charming bistro in Weymouth that focuses on serving delectable seafood dishes with a French twist. While it doesn't offer traditional fish and chips, the restaurant prides itself on offering the finest seafood and fish from Weymouth.
Fantastic food, absolutely no complaints with anything. The service was brilliant and the food was amazing. Don't understand some of the negative reviews. One woman last night actually barged herself into the kitchen to complain that her sauce was too "sharp" and needed more butter. Sums up some of the negative reviews on here are unfounded and submitted by the worst of society. Great place, great service. Would revisit again definitely.
Chris M — Google review
Had a nice meal here. It was. Tuesday evening so quite quiet. The service was decent and friendly and the food was good but to kind of had to be. £172 for 2 adults and 2 children having 2 courses without much alcohol is a bit steep. With a price tag like that the food would have to be exceptional to get 5 stars. It was nevertheless good and we did have lobster which is never cheap.
Kyle R — Google review
Before you read my review, please see the friendly manager comments to explain how uneducated I am in my details below. Then read on ... Something has clearly gone a miss here. Uncooked prawns and off lobster. Never again... You have a high hopes reading all the wonderful 4*/5* reviews. Did we go to the wrong restaurant - nope. Did we choose something difficult to cook - nope. Was the chef off, may be. Would we go again - no! Let's start with positive, the staff who did everything the could to make the best out of a bad situation. The team was very pleasant and chatty and had plenty of time for us but.... It does not cover the fact that Thai Prawn Balls were stone cold from the kitchen. Yes they were replaced quickly but something so simple, should not go wrong. Moving on, two surf and turfs; Lobsters and Fillet Streak. On one of the dishes the lobster meat was grey and watery, it looked off. We were told one was from yesterday's catch, hence the difference in cooking. Hardly freshly caught! Hardly reassuring!! So, given my experience with the prawns, I decided to just stick with my steak and send the lobster back. I'd now given up on getting a properly cooked crustacean at this place. In fact I just given up, as the streak really was not a fillet more sirloin but i prefer this cut , so kept stum. The other steak was more a rump, than a sirloin, let alone a fillet. (Edit: menu had changed from fillet to sirloin. At least one of the steaks was good) But by now we had all just had enough, thankfully the attentive staff and manager reduced our bill by half. Even so, mistakes were made. Need to highlighted and hopefully will not happen to a different customer. Well, we know it won't happen to us again! No going back ☹️
Adam C — Google review
It was good. The service was friendly and attentive. But I have to say, they’re not expert at preparing a whole lobster. It was under cooked, the tamale was a dark green gel and close to inedible (didn’t stop me though). They steam the lobster when boiling is a better method in my opinion. The scallop appetizer was quite good, well prepared although a bit pricey (£13 for three scallops).
Jay R — Google review
This restaurant came highly recommended by friends who live in Weymouth and we were not disappointed. The oysters that we had for starters between us were huge and delicious, my husband had the fillet steak and half lobster surf & turf. He is extremely critical when it comes to steak but reckoned that this was one of the best steaks he had ever eaten!! I had the seafood linguine and was super impressed with the amount of seafood present as most places tend to scrimp on this. The service was also extremely impressive - efficient and just the right attentiveness. We will most definitely be back the next time we visit Weymouth.

Birthday family meal. Well balanced meals. Thai rice was undercooked, but the restaurant did redeem itself with a free dessert. Great ambience and not over priced £££. Recommended you book as this is a great little spot
Ronnie W — Google review
The food was good in general. One of the mains we took though was dry and kinda blund. The atmosphere was a bit dark and did not quite met our expectations. Maybe that is just our feeling. The place was full and required a booking. The seafood linguine and the scallops along with the dusted calamari was very good, if not excellent. It's one of the oldest places in the city, and worths a try.
Vagg X — Google review
Amazing food but avoid if you have kids. So, this probably would of been a 5 basing this off solely food as the food was great. But, waiting until we had ordered to then start moaning our 2 year old was moving to much, being to loud and stating that kids just break stuff is probably a tad insulting to a kid who was hiding behind a chair of an empty restaurant and singing wheels on the bus. If they raised this concern before they started to bring paid goods we would of just left and apologised we didn’t realise it wasn’t a kid friendly restaurant. But, I felt like they roped us in with needing to pay for the dinner until they decided to wanted to choke restrained and muzzled. Recommend they get a no kids sign for the window because the food is great.

Located in a stunning coastal setting overlooking Weymouth Bay, Harvester Spyglass Inn Weymouth is a family-friendly restaurant offering a variety of grilled meats, salads, pasta, and seafood. Situated just off the B3155 near Dorchester and the Isle of Portland, this pub restaurant provides easy access to nearby attractions such as RSPB Weymouth Wetlands, Weymouth Harbour, and Weymouth Beach.
Lovely restaurant, lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area has a great view of the sea and of Weymouth seafront. They do good vegan options - the vegan tacos are really good. Service was great, Morgan was our server and was very present and quick (but not rushed) with taking our order etc. Free parking, you just need to enter your reg when you go in on the screen at the bar or where you wait to be seated. Would recommend coming here.

Absolutely shocking. Don't waste your time. Our waiter was lovely, but he was doing all the work. We were met by a young girl looking us up and down, loads of free tables but none available! Had to wait 30 minutes for one of the empty tables for some reason. She had a bad attitude and was constantly chewing, and either on her phone, swinging her hair around, ignoring customers or going outside to smoke. The salad bar was shocking, filthy and empty. They had run out of loads of different things, and the wait for food was over an hour! Literally the worst I've ever been too. Such a shame as it was my husband’s birthday meal and we were on holiday. Such a shame as it has potential. I wouldn't return.
Tamara T — Google review
It's just awful! Entered an empty restaurant to be told they were fully booked and had to wait. When we were finally seated, it was to one of many empty tables that were free the whole time. Lots of food was out of stock, including chicken, fish, skewers, etc. The salad bar was trashed and was not refilled or clean. After around 1 hour 30 mins, someone finally decided to fill it slowly. Not even a bread roll in sight, when they finally appeared, they were half defrosted. The girls who work here have terrible customer service, too busy chewing and smoking out the back. We were served within 10 minutes of being seated by the only thing that was good in the place, A lovley guy called Csaba, he was attentive, friendly and really wonderful, asked how long he had worked there he said 3 weeks, this may be the reason that's he was the only one taking orders clearing and cleaning tables and getting the complaints by all the customers for the 1hour 40 minute wait for food. I really feel for him. The others were not helping him at all they are taking advantage because he's still new. He deserves better! Meals were lukewarm and chips were soggy and stale £17.49 for a small plate of mash with a film over tony bit of beef brisket which was mostly fat and veg that had dried out unfer the hot plate Shame on the management. I would avoid this place it could be exceptional due to location with sea views.
Kammy 1 — Google review
Hmmm what to say . Its hit and miss for service. Especially finding the bar area clean . It's dog friendly but it seems you are treated differently from being in the main restaurant. Such a shame because the food is actually nice and a very fresh salad bar . I asked three times if someone could clear away the mess on the tables After a 15 minute wait we walked out. No one wants to eat in a messy place
Misty C — Google review
A long wait on food but we didn’t mind, we were told this before we were seated. Can’t fault the food or service. Salad was fresh, drinks made perfectly. A lovely day.

⭐ Absolutely Appalling – Don’t Waste Your Time Absolutely disgraceful experience at the Harvester Spy Glass Inn in Weymouth. As a family, we were left sat for two hours with no food, no update, and no apology. That’s completely unacceptable – especially as we have a daughter with special needs who needed to get home for her seizure medication. We arrived just after 18:00 and left at 20:00 – still hungry, stressed, and completely let down. The salad bar was a total joke – just scraps left, never restocked during our visit. It’s meant to be a key part of the experience, yet it was utterly unusable. To add insult to injury, several main meals were unavailable, including all fish options and two other mains, and we weren’t told until long after ordering. The re-fillable fizzy drinks had no flavour whatsoever – just fizzy water. The toilets were disgusting – one was blocked, and the other didn’t even have a working lock. Hygiene and basic maintenance clearly aren’t a priority here. Worst of all, the entire experience felt like we were just flies on the wall – completely forgotten about and left to our own. Not once did anyone check in or show any level of care. For a bill that would’ve been well over £50, this level of service is an absolute disgrace. This is not the standard you’d expect from a well-known Harvester chain. First visit – and 100% the last. Avoid this place at all costs.

Day out with the kids, partner said "Let's pop to the Harvester down the road on the way home"... the last time I went to the harvester was 10 years ago, worst experiance ever so was hesitant, wow was i wrong!! The entrance is where the atmosphere loses a star, very dark and felt very run down but once you go through to the restaurant its very nice. Service, fantastic, was served by CJ he was top notch, super friendly always helped with every query and was a good laugh, top lad. Food, why we go right, prices was a put off but once I got the food it then didn't bother me as it was super impressive and was blown away how good it was. Definatly would return when in the area, pleasant suprise!

Our server, Morgan, made the experience 100% better. he was welcoming and regularly checked in throughout our experience. He was ever so friendly and was eager to answer any questions we had. The wait times on the food were very short, and the food came very hot and amazing quality. The atmosphere was calming, clean tables and seating areas. Will definitely visit again. :)

Always a go-to pub when we visit Weymouth. Great selection of drinks, freindly staff and nice atmosphere sorting outside watching the world go by. Love the draft selection of thatchers ciders when it's a warm one! Plenty of outside seating and accessible for wheelchair users. Would highly recommend.

A pleasant enough Greene King pub. Right next to the harbour. Ideal if it is sunny outside. Happy hour is Monday to Thursday 4pm to 7pm.
Darren S — Google review
Tried one of their "award winning" steak and ale pies. Found literally two tiny scraps of steak in it. Salt and pepper squid comes from frozen, rubbery and with no flavour. Sauce for the schnitzel is soapy and gross. Would avoid if you enjoy good food
Barnaby S — Google review
Nice, relaxed vibe with a decent beer garden overlooking the harbour. Range of beers and drinks is good but that’s expected of a Greene King. The place could do with a good tidy and clean. The tables outside were quite dirty. We had a couple of drinks and the glasses were dirty but again what can you expect from a Greene King.
Loz D — Google review
We only stopped for a drink so can't comment on the food but we got a table outside on a hot sunny afternoon. Great atmosphere with the hustle and bustle of life in Weymouth harbour. Great staff and service, lovely setting and a perfect way to chill in the last summer sunshine.
Grahame E — Google review
We had a long walk along the coastal path, so by the time we got there we were starving and really looking forward to a good meal. The menu looked fabulous, but sadly the food didn’t live up to it. My burger bun was burnt, the chicken was just okay, the salad left much to be desired, there was no onion, and the fries - advertised as rosemary salted - were barely warm and completely lacking flavour. On top of that, the tables were mucky and most were covered in empty glasses, as nobody seemed to be clearing them away. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience for our first meal in Weymouth. Such a shame.

Originally a fishing village, Gloucester has since become a popular tourist destination due to its stunning sea views and close proximity to the beach. The pub features hearty steaks and home-style sides, making it a great place to enjoy some hometown flavor. The pub is also conveniently located right across from the beach, making it the perfect spot to spend a day in town.
A true hidden gem on Weymouth seafront! We stumbled across The Gloucester and were so glad we did. It’s a fantastic hostelry with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and unbeatable views right over the seafront. We visited on a Tuesday evening for their steak night deal (buy one, get one half price) and it was excellent value. I went for the ribeye, while my wife had the sirloin – both steaks were cooked to absolute perfection, full of flavour, and served exactly as ordered. The quality of the food really stood out, and it was clear a lot of care had gone into the preparation. Alongside the great food, the bar has a brilliant selection of drinks to enjoy, and the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It’s the kind of place that feels equally suited for a relaxed meal out or just a couple of drinks while soaking up the seaside atmosphere. All in all, The Gloucester is a real find in Weymouth – a place we’ll definitely return to and recommend to anyone looking for good food, good value, and a brilliant spot by the sea.

They have change the menu a bit sad now cause they remove the hot stone cooking steak plus no longer a pound for the second order. However, the side dish now become cheaper all £ 1 prices. It's tastier when it was cooked in the hot stone. Service still good 👍 thank you

We looked up cocktails in Weymouth and this bar came up high. From the outside it looks impressive but inside, although huge, it just feels drab. Feels like an old working men’s club and does not match the prestige of the outside, inside. Nice enough for a beer but there are much better places to go in Weymouth.

Staff were polite. Pizza was handmade and not bad. Had to go down steps to reach the pub so not sure if there is disabled access. Beer garden. Quite cozy inside. Tv's playing sport but not at volume. Small stage area for bands. Snooker table. Kid friendly. Playing great 80's tunes on one side of pub, quiet the other side, which is fab for anyone with hearing or sensory issues. Music not loud which was great. Disabled toilet. Blue light card discount on food which is good 👍 👍 👍

So, we went to this steakhouse on Tuesday. You know how much we love steaks, and they had this awesome promotion—the second steak was only a pound! We ordered the steak on stone, which was cool because we could cook it exactly how we wanted. It came with chips and salad, and it was all really good. The peppercorn sauce was a bit pricey at £3.50, but it was a big jug, so I guess that makes up for it. The atmosphere in the place was great. They had a TV showing the football, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend going there. We spent a little over £40 for two steaks, a coke, a beer, and two peppercorn sauces.
Gemeheme — Google review
Staff no older than my socks , over eager service making it annoying and poor. Toilets that need some TLC with an odd walk, though, what feels like the outback. The pub inside is nothing more than the likes of some branded chain pub it's souless and lacking any atmosphere with an odd table layout. Food prices are at the higher end we didn't eat as prices put us off and what we saw looked basic with many plates still left with food on. Not a pub for us it would probably be best placed as a late night bar / night club with it's larger open spaces.

Brilliant restaurant. Easily the best restaurant in Weymouth! Food was delicious, everything is so fresh. Waiting staff were exceptional. Variety of meats were great, cold buffet was fab. I’ve read through the reviews on here and the bad ones do not represent this restaurant in the slightest. Thank you for a lovely meal, and special thanks to Brandon one of the waiting staff for being so helpful and polite. He’s a credit to your restaurant!

This is an eat as much as you like restaurant. Long wait for food to be bought to table, spent a lot of time looking at empty plates. We were all very disappointed. We were then told we had a 2 hour slot and had to leave. We didn't even get time for a dessert. This was not mentioned when we booked or when we were seated or at any time during our visit. The restaurant is not accessible with 3 large steps at the front. The toilets are down two steep flights of stairs in the basement.

Quite impressed with the quality of the meat (was a bit skeptical) and sides/salads bar. Everything we tasted was delicious and so much sirloin and picanha. We didn’t see the fillet come round but I’m sure if we asked they would have, because at some point I politely asked about the chicken and within 2 mins they were coming around with it. Special praise to the staff here - the 2 young hostesses were brilliant and the two young men who brought the men around. All so lovely and great with dealing with rude customer over at next table (28 June 2025)

The staff here are absolutely brilliant! It's in an attractive building overlooking the bay, and very smart. It's an amazing place to eat - the best Brazilian food you can imagine. We had lovely views, the ambience and decor is lovely. The Brazilian food here is amazing. Perfectly cooked meat delivered to your table, cut for you off the skewers. We both asked for some things in particular and they didn't hesitate to make sure we both got exactly what we wanted. The chefs cook on charcoal and they're great. You can have your meat cooked to your preference and the place is so good we're going to book a holiday just so we can go back! The girl who looked after us is a very energetic petite young lady who has wonderful charisma and makes sure you are well looked after. We love this restaurant. Great staff, great cooked meats!

Wow what a fantastic experience!! We have visited for lunch and evening meals now and both were incredible. Staff were very helpful and friendly and explained the whole experience and were very good at remembering everyone's preferences as to how they liked there meat cooked. All meats tasted incredible and they had probably the best selection of salads and sides I've ever seen definitely something for everyone. We will be returning.

Brilliant price at spoons. You know you getting value for money. Clean in the Swan and quick service, ordered on the app. On the table in last 10 mins. Paying for adults and children under £60 for 6.
Hug D — Google review
A little too crammed in for my liking but thats just me. Food was as good as you'd expect at a Spoons, the service was excellent and the safe very friendly. Once you can get past the drinkers and smokers congregated at the entrance it's a nice pub to be in, it is spacious but when we visited it was really busy which added to the feeling of claustrophobia for me. Would recommend it though we had breakfast there. Easy to locate too it's about 30yards from the bridge over Weymouth harbour entrance.
Grahame E — Google review
Friendly and helpful staff, food and drinks came out reasonably quickly considering this was a busy weekend. Food was fresh and hot, and a small mistake with an order was rectified quickly. Wheelchair accessibility is good, just a bit of a struggle when it's busy as the tables are slightly close together (may struggle maneuvering around chairs), disabled toilet was clean, and staff were helpful on the occasion where it wasn't clean.
Georgie A — Google review
It's a spoons! You get what you would expect. Decent prices. We had burgers which were quite good. Chips were overcooked as were the onion rings however the fact there was plenty of sauce available wasn't too bad.
Dale R — Google review
Truly spectacular welcome. When we had an issue (lost glasses) the manager Thomas Newstead was so brilliantly all over it. Despite it being frantic and closing time. Delicious Jalfrezi too! A large pub for sure but one with a local's welcome and that felt welcoming. Bravo.

Enjoyed the garden very much, just outside chilling, getting drunk. Staff was very friendly, bit of banter Only put 3 stars for food, as we didn't eat anything, but were aware their fryers were out of action

Nestled in the charming village of Chickerell, The Turks Head Inn is a delightful country pub that beckons visitors with its warm atmosphere and welcoming vibe. This family-friendly establishment not only caters to humans but also rolls out the red carpet for furry friends, offering dog biscuits and water upon arrival. You might even cross paths with Parker, the friendly resident pup who loves mingling with guests.
First time visiting The Turks Head 20/9/24 For the wake of a true and special friend. The staff were wonderful, the pub itself was spotless clean. Lovely old feel and lots of wood. This goes for the loos too, fresh and clean. They provided a cold buffet which was of good quality, some home made food, the coleslaw was thick, creamy and a fantastic taste. Highly recommend a visit if you are that way.

Recommended this pub for my mums birthday. We were not disappointed. Beautifully decorated pub/Inn. Great reception. Good selection of drinks. The food was outstanding. Served on hot plates. Great service. I ordered we will revisit.
Barry C — Google review
Lovely county vibes pub. Nice staff, nicely laid out so you are not squashed up against other tables. Dog friendly. Mid week carvery, large car park. Prices are very reasonable. Vegan and vegetarian dishes, but would be nice if there were a few more. Portions are a good size and the food was piping hot. Beer garden with good sized tables and flower pots. Stayed next door for a week and never heard anything from customers as they were super respectful. Music was in background and not in your face so easy to have a conversation which was wonderful. Worth the visit

We came here for dinner whilst on holiday and were super impressed. The staff were so friendly and accommodating to families and we all enjoyed our food. In particular the shepherd's pie and the seabass special with crab mash. Would recommend a visit

Booked and went for a family Sunday roast.. we were not disappointed. The outside seating area was lovely, the staff were very friendly and the food was by far the best roast dinner I've ever had and the price was brilliant. We are not local but will definitely be returning when we visit Weymouth again. By far and away the best place to eat in Weymouth in my opinion.

Can't fault it. Good breakfast and coffee to start with. Parking right next door no problem for big 4x4 Jeep to get into. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Dogs dotted around chilled with punters on their laptops or tablets working. Had a group of 6 as well sat in the middle of the cafe having a great time. Quick walk down the beach for a bit of sea air. Can't wait to go back but with the dog next time 🤩

Visited twice this week whilst staying in Weymouth. Yesterday for breakfast. Lovely choices, especially if you don't want a cooked meal. I had muesli with yoghurt and fruit compote. It was delicious. Today, we stopped for coffee and a tray bake. I had an excellent hot chocolate and the chocolate brownie was extremely nice. Friendly staff, nice place and great views. Dog friendly inside and out.

This is my favourite fish and chips place from now in England. I tried many but this one was special. Super fresh fish, amazing crispy chips and tartare sauce was amazing! I really really enjoyed it after my walk from the Durdle door to here. I'm sure this was not the last time I visited this place ! PS : I just needed to add salt to my fish, but it's absolutely fine! I think it's better to bring fish which is not salty ! :) Thank you everybody who works in this place! :) I had a great time!

Lovely fish and chips. Service was quick and the location was excellent. Being bank holiday it was busy as expected. Staff were pleasant and attentative. After a busy Sunday I really looked forward to a home cooked Sunday Roast but it was average at best. The meat was wonderful but I found the meal over priced with the veg precooked and some funky taste in the stuffing and Yorkshire pud. We waited 5 minutes for cutlery so the dinner was cold when we finally started it. Overall not impressed

We booked for my birthday lunch with my family ( 11 of us ) we were greeted as soon as we arrived and taken to our table in a private room which was really private. We were given a very polite young man who would he seeing to all our needs . He was very attentive and checked on us regularly our food took a little longer than usual but we were updated regularly on how long it would be , our food arrived and it was worth the wait , we had a child with allergies and we were impressed that she could have all the options on the children’s menu . We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and even the new owner Rupert came and spoke to us to ask how it had been and any feedback which was very professional , we will definitely book again and highly recommend anyone going to this lovely pub. Thankyou to all the staff . KSchwegmann

I used to love wandering down to this pub in the summer for a peaceful evening drink on the lawn with family. But every time I went down there this summer there was music blasting on the veranda. We arrived at Weymouth, walk past Hamilton and decided to have dinner here. I was really surprised and impressed by the quality of food. Ingredients used was really fresh, very well done food. From the food, I felt it was cooked by a very experienced chef who knows what he or she is doing. The dish I like the most is the ox cheek stew. The meat was melting in the mouth. It goes so well with the parsnip purée and vegetables that came with it as well Well done chef. The services was really good as well, friendly staff, welcoming and caring! Would definitely visit again when I’m in the area.

The cozy and romantic atmosphere is enhanced by wooden decor and soft French music in the background. Customers praise the excellent food quality and attentive staff service.
I had passed this quaint looking restaurant during a walk round Weymouth whilst on holiday and made a note of it to return. I took my Dad here for a late lunch after completing the beautiful Rodwell Trail walk. It was a beautiful sunny day so we sat outside under one of the umbrellas watching the world go by. Dad had the king prawns and I had the trout and leek crumble. Wow, just wow!! It was honestly one of the most delicious lunches we have ever had!! Both dishes were absolutely sublime and bursting with flavour. So much so we had to pass on our compliments to the chef, Pascal. Thank you for a wonderful meal and we cannot wait to return 👍❤️

Fab lunch here. So much that I could have had but had the French Onion Soup for starter, Smoked Trout for main and Coffee and Walnut cake for dessert. The pot of tea lasted for ages. We will definitely return. Also, upstairs would be a lovely spot for a special occasion.

Exceptional find. Do not miss this French brasserie if visiting Weymouth I had a most delicious fresh crab salad. Reasonably priced for such quality. The whole ambiance in a beautiful setting is such a haven on a busy Summer day. Be assured you will relish every bite !

My friend and l were looking for a place to stop off for lunch before heading home from our weekend away. Although l know Weymouth well l have never spotted Pascal’s before, what a gem of a place it was. I had the last (very tasty) crab sandwich, lovely full filling, fresh and generous and Abbie had an equally delicious prawn baguette. We both fancied a cake as well as a treat. Again, generous portions, warm, freshly cooked cream tea for me and Abbie tried the Dorset Apple cake. I got a huge pot of tea that was topped up as well. We sat outside but indoors was charming as well and even cosier in real life than the photos would suggest. All in all a lovely little bistro with a quietly friendly owner, we will be back!

Pascal’s Brasserie is a little gem! Step back in time to beautiful authentic French cuisine. The food is presented without all the modern day airs and graces, just good honest wholesome food, that tastes wonderful. Try the onion soup, perfect and the flapjack is exquisite. I will definitely be going back.

It features big screen entertainment and traditional English pub activities like sports, darts, and cards. The menu offers great value meal deals on different days of the week, including burgers, curry, and steak with drinks.
We had my mums wake here on the 29th of August and they were amazing, we were allowed into the room slightly earlier to set everything up. The room had plenty of tables and a toilet save you having to go through the pub (massive deal for elderly family members😅). The food was amazing, presented beautifully, plenty there tasted great and definitely got our moneys worth. Would 100% recommend having a function here 😊
Gemma W — Google review
This pub has the cheapest beers in the area. The food is good, nicely prepared with big portions and the staff are courteous and helpful. The pub could use more seating as they have a lot of large tables, so that leads to a lot of wasted seats. It's also a family friendly pub, so this means there can be a lot of children running around during big matches.
Seth P — Google review
The staff were very helpful and friendly (although one of them gave me the wrong desert options even though there were only 2 options!). The roast beef looked ok but was cold. I think if the food was warm I could have enjoyed it. The apple pie came without the calvados sauce as advertised and no explanation was offered. When I asked about it I was told that they had run out. No one asked me whether I needed anything else or if everything was alright with the meal which i think is pretty standard. And required me to get up from the table twice to go hunting for staff during my meal. So pretty poor service and really somewhere I could not recommend based on this experience.

We were in Weymouth for the bank holiday and wanted somewhere to grab lunch near our campsite and googled pointed us towards The Admiral Hardy. This pub is a little gem. The staff were super helpful ,friendly and welcoming. The pub itself is clean comfortable and a good mix of different seating styles. Massive well done to the team and next time we are back we know exactly where to go to get a ruddy good burger. Thanks

Nice local pub large spaces and plenty of customers. Good coverage of Sky Sports if you like that kind of thing I watched the Lion's first match would have been nice to have the commentary but worth the visit. Being on holiday we called for food the week before which was very good, dog friendly otherwise would not have had my patriotism.

We recently attended this pub following my grandmother’s funeral. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The manager approached our table in a manner that came across as abrupt and dismissive. Despite a member of staff telling us we could remain at the table until 13:15, the manager insisted we move at 13:02. This felt unnecessary and poorly handled, particularly given the circumstances. Customer service and care were lacking, and there was no acknowledgement of our situation or any attempt to manage it sensitively. To add to the frustration, once we moved, a “reserved” sign was placed on the table. While one staff member was polite and understanding, the manager’s attitude left a very negative impression. Overall, the handling of the situation showed poor communication and responsibility. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this establishment.
Jordan F — Google review
We went there for a family meal and to meet a relative's family. We each had a full meal - in my case, I had southern fried chicken goujons, a Desperado's Nacho burger, and a billionaire's waffle. All three courses were perfect, the burger in particular was delicious (they substituted the vegan chili con carne, which they were out of anyway, with pulled pork). I'd fully recommend this place :)

Staying at local campsite and The Wyke Smugglers was a short walk away, we were pleasantly surprised at the very reasonable prices then as an added bonus the food was also really good with generous portion sizes, staff were lovely as were the locals so all in all I would highly recommend this pub for eating and drinking

Kika Beach Club is truly a hidden treasure that promises an unforgettable experience. Whether you're stopping by for a late breakfast or enjoying cocktails with friends, the warm welcome from the staff sets the tone for your visit. The menu boasts delightful options like cured meats and cheese boards, as well as scrumptious cheesy mash croquettes that are sure to please any palate. With its stunning beachfront location, you can sip on expertly crafted cocktails while soaking in breathtaking ocean views—it's almost like being transported abroad!
Wow, I wasn't expecting the Kika Beach Club to be so GOOD. Service was brilliant and attentive and very impressed by the young lady. Atmosphere was really busy for Saturday night, but was not loud a tall, just a good buzz. The food was out of this world. It's so fresh and tasty. Loved my smash burger, and jam was crazy nice. The chips were incredibly homemade, with a crunch. My friends had the fish, and chips looked amazing. The veggies had the chickpea curry ,which said was outstanding. The prices were very good too.

I had my first visit to this wonderful venue today, and I am beyond impressed. I decided to stop by to try the food and was warmly greeted by the friendliest hostess. Shortly after, another team member came by to take my order. The food was outstanding—beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The vibe of the place is incredible as well: a relaxed beach-themed décor, not too loud, with a great variety of food, cocktails, and other drinks on offer. I will certainly be visiting again. A huge thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful experience!

Best gluten free breakfast I have ever had. Food fresh and tasty. All staff were lovely and friendly. Chef showed us all the things on the menu that could be made gluten free. Server was lovely. Lovely vibes and right off the beach. Would definitely recommend.

A nice bar situated on Weymouth's beach front. Nice tapas and pizzas. Cocktails are ok espresso martini was alright s.o.t.b was nice. Bar and waitress staff were lovely. Down sides. The toilet area is a bit of a shambles nowhere for ladies to wash their hands. Broken lock in the gents. Considering the prices paid at £10 a drink this shouldn't be the case. Also no military or blue light discount is disappointing. We will return but will try a few other places first great location just needs a few quid spending on the bathrooms and a thank you to the people that they clapped for during lockdown. 7/10.

Carvery was gorgeous. Only had pork but very tasty and succulent. Decent veggies, roast potatoes. It was £16 to fill your plate, or £13 for smaller plate. Nice staff. Recommend to book in advance.

Stumbled upon this amazing place today after craving a roast. Carvery always worries me, as it’s so hard to get right… but today Onxy batted it right out the park. Beautiful beef and cauliflower cheese was just about the tastiest I’ve had… parsnips and potatoes were great too! Such a lovely selection of vegetables including Brussel sprouts! Beautiful fluffy home made yorkie puds and piping hot gravy. We were told that whatever we didn’t eat, we could take away in take out containers. I cheekily asked if there were any spare meat ends for my dogs and of my gosh, they were soo accommodating. Then staff were all attentive and lovely too. Highly recommended

Baby S — Google review
This place is dark and dingy with virtually unreadable menus. Was asked if I have allergies and said yes to uncooked tomato seeds. Was told by staff member that I can't have the baked beans as they may contain tomato seeds. I assured her that I would be fine with baked beans, she argued with me twice, saying no, I said I would leave then. She took the order when food arrived, no beans at all. I said I ordered the beans and was told i can't have them. I said I didn't want the food, then and we got up and left that was 20 minutes of my life wasted on this place. Basically, you must have what they give you rather than what you request, which, in my opinion, is disrespectful and very rude. I am not a child who can't way up a situation. I consider it to be very rude, and I suggest you describe your food if there is a potential issue and let your customer choose. UPDATE: Following your very rude response, I suggest you read the sale of food act 1984. For clarification. 1. I didn't tell your waitress that I had a severe allergy. What I said was I have an allergy of raw tomato seeds. To describe baked beans, they are not raw, and if you are giving raw foods for items that are supposed to be cooked, then you need reporting. 2. The order was placed on the understanding that it included baked beans. 3. You were charging for a meal on the above understanding. 4. I did not eat the meal as it did not include what I asked for and would have paid for. Just because you cooked something does not give you entitlement to payment when someone refuses your meal. 5. If you want to report it to the so-called relevant authorities as you claim, I suggest you tell them the truth. 1. Your staff were not listening to the customer. 2. You did supply what was requested. 3. The customer didn't want what was offered. 4. The customer did not eat any of what you offered. Your veiled threats are simply because I left a negative review of your business. If you want to talk about this experience and your intentions are sincere. Leave a name and number of the owner, and I will gladly discuss it with you.

Been coming to Weymouth for years and only discovered Caffeine last year, food was so good we have returned again this year. As predicted just as tasty and perfectly cooked like last year, it is never a disappointment. The hash benny in particular is really tasty and a good portion size! Staff really friendly, I was provided with a menu and then went up to the bar/till to order, coffee and food arrived within good time. Would definitely recommend!

the waitress who was wearing the knitted jumper today was extremely rude and condescending. i have never experienced such poor customer service. she was quite rude and gestured for me to hurry up while seemingly very annoyed — projecting her own issues onto customers. my friends and i all immediately left. as someone who has worked as a waitress myself for a few years, i wouldn’t ever think to treat someone the way i was treated today. management — i advise you to reiterate the importance of customer service to your staff. they don’t need to go above and beyond, but basic kindness is the bare minimum.

Nestled in the heart of Weymouth, The Black Dog is a charming pub that welcomes both you and your furry companions. With roots tracing back to the 16th century, this historic establishment boasts stunning original Saxon architecture and a warm atmosphere that invites relaxation after a day of exploring. Known for its selection of cask ales and guest brews, The Black Dog also serves up delicious home-cooked meals made from locally sourced ingredients, ensuring every bite is fresh and flavorful.
We loved The Black Dog in Weymouth! Stumbled upon this gem by chance and very happy we did. It appears we weren’t the only ones, it was busy in there all the times we visited. It’s a proper pub. Pool table, darts and cards etc. Offers a great selection of drinks including scrumpy ciders available to take away. Really enjoyed the cocktails, pirate booty and the wrecked pirate were memorable. We tried the food too, it was good quality pub food and very well priced. There was a slight mix up regarding the gluten free dish, however this was resolved immediately and the staff were very apologetic for the mix up. All the member's of staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly place too, we loved meeting the black dog himself, Bowie! The Black Dog will be first on the list of places we go when we come back to Weymouth. Thank you!

An old pub full of history, with a cosy vibe and even a resident dog (sadly I didn’t catch his name!). The walls are decorated with historic items and info about the pub, which adds to the charm. There’s a great selection of beers, ciders, and more. If you’re planning to eat, it’s worth booking as there aren’t many tables and it does get busy. The food is classic pub grub with generous portions. Vegan options are a bit limited and basic, but the traditional meals my family ordered looked great — especially the mixed grill.

A must visit. This pub must be the or of the oldest in weymouth, a good old fashioned pub with great service and a warm welcome. Food is fantastic and well priced with a lighter bites menu starting from £5 which isnt heard of these days and the portions sizes on this menu are grest too. Toilets are ok Pub very comfortable and warm, outdoor seating also available acess from the beach side as well as town. Live entertainment most nights, a good family friendly pub. Tea, coffee and cakes also available

Came here for Lunch with Friends on the August Bank Holiday. Me and a Friend had the Ploughmans sharer and it definitely was enough for 2 as advertised! Another friend really enjoyed the Smokey Joe Burger! The Drinks were also perfect in the summer sun! The interior is contemporary and historic, making you feel like you are walking inside a piece of the deep history of Weymouth. Be aware this place can be quite busy on a weekend or public holiday due to it's historic significance, and there is limited outside seating available if you would like to sit outside in the sun. The food and drinks were Fantastic though, as were all the staff!

Well it was busy at 6 and a little unwelcoming but that might have been the faces on the patrons waiting to be served, in fact couldn’t get served so we left. Give it a chance so came back later and it was empty, beers were alright and yes there was a constant stream of people eating fish and chips from the place next door … then it’s closing at 9?? … but it’s still serving at 9.30 … I’m confused but hell if they don’t want people in there then that’s the way of things …. Usually this has been the place we want to go in Weymouth when on holiday. The first time we went in they had a silent disco and that was amazing and the second time we went in was for karaoke that was also enjoyable and they had a great selection of Drinks for all. However last night I was very disheartened by how quickly there security was to discriminate against the way I walk and my disability pointing out we had been highlighted on there radio but the other two people I was with were fine I said I will happily provide proof but they were having none of it I get security are doing a job but there’s no need to be rude, disrespectful or discriminate. This was really disappointing due to the past experiences we had being so great and we were all really looking forward to going. We also went back to the other pub who admitted there mistake after proof was shown but I also understand a jobs a job but there’s no need to be rude to customers over it

Very unhappy with this place me and my gf traveld all the way from Trowbridge for a night out in Weymouth and we ended up trying this place it looked amazing. We paid to get in and had one drink and my gf went to the toilet so I waited by the bar for her then suddenly when she came out the bouncers came to me and her and told us to leave because I was aprantly to drunk when I wasn't I felt unhappy and it did reuion are night.. So I don't recommend this place as I felt picked on to kick me out so they could get maybe new paying people in making more money possibly.. What I will say is I'm the biggest Facebook group runner in the world with millions of views every month so I will not recommend this place to the people in my groups.. Fantastic service and food from start to finish. This two and a half hour experience went so fast. Lovely ambience and decor. Every minute was enjoyable and must be a visit if you are in Weymouth. We will definitely be visiting again next year. No complaints whatsoever. Probably be looking around the £100 mark for two persons and a three course. Well done Mallams!

When you think of fish restaurants in English seaside towns you usually imagine batter and chips being involved. I'm sure they would do you some chips at Mallams, but maybe focus on the rest of the menu first. Our group had a variety of fish dishes and a couple tired the lamb. No-one was disappointed. In fact it was exceptional. Should also mention that the staff have an excellent knowledge of their wine and spirits, and gave us a couple great recommendations for pairing with the food. Mallams is a great little spot which is well worth a visit.

As 'walk-ins' on a Saturday evening (albeit early) we were doubtful of getting a table. Staff were very accommodating and 'snuck' us in (wife and I). Service was exemplary - drinks list had a very good selection with a wide selection of local treats. Starter menu was varied - I opted for pigeon - fantastic. Main course we opted for chicken stuffed with black pudding and Cornish hake - delightful. It was nice to have just enough room for sweet - 'posh' bread and butter pudding and a very suave trifle(ish) pudding. Well worth the dosh - worked out less than we both thought. Huge congratulations and thanks to all the staff.. ta...

Having read superb reviews Mallams did not disappoint, the tone was set from the start with the delightfully engaging manner in which my reservation was taken over the phone. Beautifully cooked fish, extremely more-ish home baked Courgette & Fennel Bread & we loved the eclectic choices section on the wine list. My only sadness was in not getting to sample the INCREDIBLE looking puddings, we will have to return!

Dear Google Users, Please be wary of this business. We were recently booked to clean the kitchen equipment in this restaurant, however, upon arrival the business owner was no where to be found and we could not access the property. We waited at the property for over 1 hour. This kitchen remains dirty and uncleaned at this point, would not recommend eating in this establishment as it does not comply with certified standards. We hope this feedback helps those looking to visit this restaurant.

The Fat Badger, located in the Pebblebank Caravan park in Weymouth, is a popular spot for Sunday lunch. The pub offers a unique solution to the Sunday carvery crisis by bringing all the food to your table on a platter, including three types of meat and delicious vegetables. With its fabulous location near Chesil Beach and views over Portland, it's not only known for its great food but also for being dog-friendly.
Chose the Fat Badger for a meal with family while in the area after reading some good reviews. We were not disappointed! The food was good and very tasty, the restaurant is dog friendly which meant we could bring our Weimaraner who hates being left! To top it all as well as good atmosphere and service even though they were busy, they also serve a good selection of gluten and dairy free meals which was perfect for me as a coeliac. Will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

We had a lovely visit to The Fat Badger at Pebble Bank Caravan Park. The restaurant is spotless with a calm, relaxed atmosphere, and the views are absolutely stunning — whether you choose to sit inside or outside, you can enjoy your breakfast while taking in the beautiful surroundings. All the staff we met were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which added to the experience. We ordered a large and a small full breakfast, and both were absolutely delicious. The toast was proper bakery bread — warm and nostalgic, just like my grandmother used to make. The Cumberland sausage was full of flavour, and everything tasted fresh and well-cooked. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing breakfast with a view — we’ll definitely be back!

Went only popped in for a swift half, but the Sunday lunches looked very good indeed. Lovely views over Chesil beach and a very popular location. Would suggest to book ahead if planning to eat in.

Thank you to all off you

Great stay for a short Weymouth visit! 🏖️ The hotel is just a short drive from Weymouth beach, making it super convenient. Rooms were clean, well-kept, and welcoming just what we needed after a long travel day. What really stood out was the seamless late check-in they gave us clear directions and were very accommodating even though we arrived late at night 🔑.
Ankit D — Google review
The rooms were clean but a bit dated in decoration. The beds were comfortable and the linen was in good order. Perfect if you just want to put your head down and be out and about. The pub seemed quite nice and had a good beer garden but it's too far from the sea for any views. Location wise it was a twenty ish minute walk from the seafront, hard to tell exactly as we stopped off at a couple of pubs on the way. We were going to Tank Fest at Bovington and the pub was closed enough to the main roads to be convenient for travelling and close enough to walk to the front. The harbour is a bit further on from there. No food as far as I could tell, but it is slap bang next door to a well stocked Tesco express and over the road from a kebab shop, but walk to the sea front it's excellent.

Nice pub, went to watch the Scottish national on their big TV. Unfortunately at £5.70 a pint I only had 2 which was about the same as I put on the racing.

A great traditional pub with a large beer garden. Friendly service. A good range of live bands. Parking can be a bit tricky but possible. Live music in the beer garden on Sunday afternoons over the summer.

Pub
The pub, Hardys Hop House, is a dog-friendly establishment with regular offers on food and drink. It's a great place to relax with friends or meet new ones.
A great night out totally unplanned. Barmaid was informative and receptive. Great drinks at fair prices. We went on Saturday evening after seeing the Wildcats we're due to play. Really enjoyable gig
Stuart S — Google review
Could be a lovely place but needs work! Staff seem awkward & clueless, waitress wore a dirty face mask. Service was unbelievably slow, had to chase drinks more than once! Food tasted good however only luke warm.. had the potential to be delicious! No staff checked if the meal was OK (I was missing my pot of sauce) & we ran out of drinks! We waited over 30 mins for a pudding & it was past 9pm (over the time allowed for children in the venue & we had a 9 year old). We chased pudding & was told not to worry about the child being past the time... even though we were, as the language by customers was already not appropriate! Eventually got pudding refunded & left very disappointed.

Had lunch here today Burger was amazing! Can honestly say these where the best onion rings i have had. Staff where attentive but not over the top with excellent service from our server! We ordered the 'dirty chilli burger' and the cheese and bacon stack We where not disappointed The prices are good and compare well to a well known burger chain leading us to believe the food would be average at best but the quality spoke for itself and proved us wrong! Whatever your doing keep it up and expect to see us again soon
James C — Google review
Really great selection of beers. The food was excellent and appeared handmade. Very tasty and considering the style/taste, it was a very big portion. Captains burger is a must have. Very friendly staff too. Thank you
D B — Google review
We popped in here for a curry lunch and a beer after a visit to the beach. The meal we were served was tasty, satisfying, and excellent value for money. The plates and cutlery were of noticeable good quality. The men's room was clean and in good order.
William A — Google review
Visited this venue on a night out to enjoy the live band and unfortunately had a vile encounter with another pub-goer. They sexually assaulted me whilst on the premises, to which I raised this issue, and my discomfort and upset to a woman working behind the bar, in the hopes that they enforce the zero-tolerance policy and kick this bloke out so I can continue to safely and comfortably enjoy my night. But no, he continued draping himself over everything else with a pulse and made a number of women uncomfortable that night with thanks to the lack of action taken on behalf of the venue. If you want to be grossly assaulted, then this premises is for you. Also the lights are far too bright. Cannot and would not recommend.

Best pub in Weymouth. Food and staff are awesome. My dog was very welcome too. Free pool and good offers on the food and drink daily. Check this pub out.
John P — Google review
Ended in here sort of by chance, all our other choices were fully booked so was the only thing available. Must have been fate because it ended up being one of the best burger I've ever had. Yes table service was a bit slow but the decor and atmosphere were so lovely we didn't mind staying a bit longer. Very good price too ended up going back 2 days later as I had to have another burger to finish my holiday off.

Bar
The Anchor is a charming stopover nestled in the harbor, offering quick and impeccably presented food. The bar serves a perfect pint of cloudy IPA, complemented by lively and helpful staff. With its prime location by the lifting bridge, it provides stunning views and ample outdoor seating adorned with potted plants. While some patrons experienced minor issues with their drinks, others found the service to be top-notch and the food delightful.
Decent beer, lots of choice, staff were cheery and the food was great. We sat in the sunshine and enjoyed the view. I had a couple of vegetarian small plates, my husband had a salad with chicken. Both were really, really good and we’ll def go back for more next time we visit.
Kass C — Google review
Just had our fourth Barbie Chick pizza this month and is was as excellent as the first three! The pizza chef clearly loves what they do! Great food at fab prices!
Lee — Google review
Great location right along the harbour by the lifting bridge, if you get there at the right time you'll get the best views. Good amount of seating outside and it's pretty nicely decorated with potted plants. One of our party said his beers were grainy so not sure if the barrel needed changing or the lines needed clearing. Mine was good though.
Atlas — Google review
Location ain’t too sad. Trumpy pool table, £1.50 a game. Was better off using the handle end of the cue. Pub had no chalk. Not ideal when you want to get your Ronnie on.
Ryan W — Google review
Good selection of draught beers and the staff are friendly. Could do with more outdoor seating when the suns out. 🌞 The peroni tasted a little off, maybe bottom of the barrel or the lines needed cleaning. 🍺
Gary T — Google review
Came here with my Parents and was turned away because there was a cutoff time for U18s. They asked for ID but I didn't have any. I am 19 but I do look younger which can be a good thing. Staff were nice about it but I find it ridiculous that a 19 year old who doesn't drink alcohol can't even sit in there with his parents.
Bluenose — Google review
Was a bit worried about the bad reviews. My experience was very friendly and efficient bar staff. Pepperoni pizza was actually very good, came very quickly.
Matt D — Google review
Absolutely awful attitude from bar staff and door safe and as for Ruben, well what can I say… rude and intimidating and actually caused us all anxiety and brought a couple of us to tears Definitely need to rethink staffing The only pub in Weymouth we would never use again We were actually treated very aggressively for no reason except having a child under 18 with us

PlayYard is a vibrant bar that has quickly become a beloved spot for locals since its opening during the pandemic. Adorned with beautiful blossom trees, captivating wall art from local artists, and an eye-catching geometric ceiling, it offers a unique ambiance. Visitors rave about the exceptional cocktails crafted with quality spirits and syrups, making them worth every penny—especially when dry ice is available to elevate the experience.
Visited in April so apologies for the lateness. My friends and I have been here a couple of times over the past two years as we've been in Weymouth, the cocktails are a little pricey but they're excellent (proper spirits and syrups rather than pre-made stuff in a bag) and worth the money especially when the dry ice is available (which it isn't always and wasn't when we were here in 2023). I'd have no problems recommending or returning.
Harlan C — Google review
Great cocktails, staff are very helpful and friendly. Drinks are a very good price. Highly recommend. Love the décor. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
Stuart P — Google review
They had no dry ice so the cocktails were like normal. Waitress said we’d get discount but when we paid they were full price. The bar is small with 3 tables. Toilets were dirty. Only positive was the music being 00s!
Amy V — Google review
Great cocktails, great atmosphere, great staff.
Wendy L — Google review
Went as a party of 5 on a February Friday evening. Understandably running a reduced menu however the staff were very attentive and happy to create an exciting array of drinks. The evening was unfortunately soured by being asked to keep the noise down despite the fact we were the only 5 people in there and on inspection of our receipt we were overcharged for some of our drinks. It's a shame we won't be in a rush to return.

Batida Bar is a brilliant cocktail bar with a nice selection of cocktails and efficient, knowledgeable staff. The upstairs bar can be booked for functions and parties, offering comfortable seating. Nice enough small dj oriented bar in Weymouth which bar / pub wise is not amazing. Beer range wasnt the best either tbf
Jp R — Google review
Wasn't allowed in due to the bouncer who had issues thinking for himself, I wasnt vaccinated and didn't have track and trace (I'm not old enough to have the vax) he could barely string a sentence together let alone argue why I should get the app let alone why I shouldn't be allowed in. Very disappointing it looked cool in there.
George W — Google review
Only the three stars because of lack of description on menu. Jerk chicken with sticky rice and peas plus chilli cabbage was the menu. Sticky rice was undercooked chewy rice. The peas were dried out garden peas not black eyed peas which is normally served with jerk. The jerk chicken was 3 chicken breast goujons instead of the expected chicken pieces but to give credit where credit is due was exceptionally good. Great cocktail and cracking beer. When I return I will check with the kitchen to get the lowdown on how they are presenting any chosen dish.

Ok, nice cocktails, a bit pricey but worth a visit. To be fair it was our first stop of the evening so probably much busier later.

Bar
Sticks & Bones is a family-friendly games bar in Weymouth that offers a unique experience. The venue features board games, retro arcades, hot food, and a licensed bar. Visitors praise the establishment for its cool decor, console setups at tables, and a wide selection of board games. The vintage arcade and gaming section provide hours of fun for all ages. Additionally, the location near Weymouth harbor and the spacious beer garden make it an attractive spot for locals and tourists alike.
Thought it would be really busy on a Friday night and difficult to get on any games but there were only three or four other groups of people when we arrived, loads of games and tables were available. So much fun, great place for a different type of night! Drinks were really good value for money, atmosphere was great, everyone was really friendly.
Zoe E — Google review
Pros: A bit of a hidden gem unless you find yourself in Hope square and a great addition to Weymouth’s bar scene. A range of drinks to choose from including some interesting looking cocktails. Looks small on the outside but this is deceiving as inside offers a large space. Board games are available as well as arcade style games which is perfect for families with kids. Cons: There were a lot of loud youngsters running around between the games and tables which made it feel like a child space rather than an adult drinking space especially at 6:30pm. The bar staff could also do with putting a smile on their face when greeting you and were very standoffish and grumpy-like when taking your order at the bar. For the reasons outlined above, we would return if we were in the area but it would not be our first choice.
Loz D — Google review
We really enjoyed the buzzing atmosphere and the fun sounds of people enjoying their games. Food was more than agreeable.
Brooke R — Google review
Food is pretty average but definitely good when you just want to game and have a couple drinks with your friends or family. I love the cocktails! Always came out super tasty, and the staff were always really friendly! Always agreed to my stupid request of glitter in all my drinks. Love coming here with my partner and friends to play games and have some drinks. Definitely recommend, worth a visit :)
Chloe — Google review
My family’s new favourite spot in Weymouth! We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch (two kids, 7 and 10) and we could have happily spend the whole day there! More board games than I’ve ever seen outside a shop and tons of consoles old and new loaded with a wide selection of games. Not to mention one of the best burgers I’ve ever had (goes great with the delicious Bones cider!)! I worried it would be more gimmick than substance, but this is the real deal. Sadly we’re only in town once a year, but we’re already excited about next year’s visit (visits!!).
Christine P — Google review
Really cool place. Nice bar. Friendly staff. Awesome board game selection. Incredible decor and artwork. Brilliant retro arcade games. Cocktails were pretty good too!!
Darren F — Google review
A truly unique enterprise (not a sci-fi joke). Sticks & Bones caters for the modern adult gamer as well as kids and traditional board game fans. The bespoke, original decor is enough to delight anyone eating/drinking in the establishment too. Tasty, nicely priced menu alongside elaborate, homegrown drinks and cocktails and desserts. Staff are efficient and friendly, with an understanding of the plethora of games dotted around the bar, in case you need guidance in how to play. My active relationship with gaming is long gone, but I loved re-indulging myself in memories past while the daughter involved herself in the arcade's flashing lights and oversized screens. Seating in and around the arcade section is a quirky mish-mash of sofas and stools, with handy miniature tables to rest beverages. Everything seems to have been considered to the finest detail; from the sci-fi inspired cocktail menu to the placement of fantasy ephemera around the bar. The perfect establishment to waste the day in. Hope Square just became even more exciting. Recommended.
