Food is very nice. Black risotto is 10/10. Good service. I recommend reserving the table in advance. Overall is great but a bit pricey. €221 for 2 of us. 4 dishes and 2 bottles of sparkling water.

Finally, proper fine dining in Croatia! Many locals somehow got the wrong idea that simply increasing prices makes a restaurant “fine dining.” They put extra effort into this illusion by charging more and more every year, while offering astonished tourists the same cheap grilled food and very slow, poor service. Unfortunately, you rarely have a choice – 90% of restaurants work exactly like this. But back to the experience. The lady at the reception was wonderful. We arrived a bit early and she entertained us with small talk until our booked table was ready. The service team was very attentive: always refilling water and wine, bringing complimentary homemade bread, and showing us the fish of the day. The tables are spacious, which makes you feel incredibly comfortable. Every detail – from the tablecloths to the lights and chairs – is well thought out (only the logoed wine glasses felt a bit cheap, in my opinion). The food was delicious and the portions were fair. The only minor issue was with the fish serving: the waitress didn’t do a great job deboning it in front of us and left quite a few bones. Still, her sex appeal made us forgive her 😺. Overall, the experience was a solid 5/5. It was a relief to see that Croatians can deliver proper hospitality if they put just a little effort into it! My sincere compliments to the owner – a very pleasant man, sipping his bottle of red wine at the bar while making sure everything on the floor was running smoothly. I’ll definitely be back soon!

We had an unforgettable evening at Gariful. The seafood tower was outstanding – fresh, vibrant, and full of flavour. From the white fish to the scampi and squid, every bite was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The highlight of the night was pairing it all with a bottle of Billy champagne, which was nothing short of sensational and complemented the seafood perfectly. What truly made the experience stand out was the exceptional service. Our server, MICO, went above and beyond – warm, attentive, and professional. He made the evening seamless and so enjoyable. The atmosphere, food, drinks, and service were all world-class. Gariful is a must-visit in Hvar if you’re looking for an elegant, fresh, and vibrant dining experience.

Amazing dining experience! The lamb and ribeye was delicious and the waterfront setting made it even more special. Our server Ivicia was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. Definitely worth a visit when in Hvar!

I typically will not write a review without properly experiencing a restaurant but the experience was so bad that we had to walkout before ordering. We had reservations and upon seating the table next to us was chain smoking. I have asthma and had to immediately leave. We requested another table and despite the restaurant having so many open tables not near the smokers, the hostess refused to move us. She said she would add our name to a waitlist and call but never did. I’m glad we left as it is a notorious tourist trap.

Gariful in Hvar is a must-visit – stunning sea views, ultra-fresh seafood, great wine, and flawless service. Pricey, but worth every bite.

We stopped here for lunch on our maiden day in Hvar on the recommendation of our hotel concierge at Casa Benita. We had a spectacular culinary experience. Before our appetizer was presented, we were offered a refreshing aperitif of carob-infused chilled brandy. This was so refreshing given the day's temp of 34° C. Next, the chef offered gratis a fried polenta bar that was packed with flavor from multiple herbs and seasonings. For the appetizer we consumed the steak tartar with truffle slices and toasted baguette slices. This far exceeded the steak tartar we had on Split a few days earlier. For the shared main courses, we ordered the black gnocchi with shrimp in truffle sauce, octopus salad and curry risotto with shrimp. All were very delicious and the risotto was prepared to well done as requested. At the end of our meal we were again offered gratis a pine needle infused brandy to wash down our meal. We had three different servers who were most attentive to our dining needs. As for the check, the total amount was discounted 10% because we chose to pay by cash versus card. We highly recommend Dalmatino for anyone visiting Hvar and will certainly return when we come back to Croatia in a few years!

This place not only has great food and service, but they also go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. My octopus salad portion was generous and tasty, and my husband’s curry shrimp risotto was mild with a rich seafood flavor. During our lunch, they offered us one complimentary small bite and three free drinks—which were really good—plus a 10% discount for paying in cash. Such a great experience!

This has to be one of our best meals in Croatia. The service is so great, they make you feel so welcome and the food was absolutely outstanding. Definitely coming here again while we’re in Hvar! We had the Istria Truffle Gnocchi and Octopus Carpaccio with the chocolate cake for dessert. Dalmatian food is 🤩🤩 and it was perfectly executed at Dalmatino. Highly highly recommend! Don’t skip this if you’re in Hvar!

They definitely have the best black risotto in Old Town Dubrovnik! We ordered so much and nothing disappoints! We had an octopus salad, fish of the day and pasta 💯 The staffs are accommodating as we didn’t have a booking but managed to squeeze us in. So make sure you book ahead of time especially for dinners!

I had an extraordinary dining experience at what might be the finest restaurant I’ve ever visited—a bold claim, but well-earned. The waitstaff operated like a perfectly synchronized team, anticipating every need with precision and warmth. Their knowledge was impressive, and their recommendation of a wine—now my absolute favorite— was spot-on. The truffle gnocchi stood out as exceptional, though every dish was a masterpiece. We capped the evening with espresso-martinis, and cigars, making for an unforgettable finale. This place is a true gem.

My partner and I visited this restaurant last night. I can honestly say this was one of the nicest meals I have ever had eating out. We had the Chateau Briand for the main, and granny's cake for dessert. We were lucky enough to get a table as during peak season this restaurant can be booked up to 3 weeks in advance. The food was excellent. The service was very attentive. Tony and the rest of the team went above and beyond. If you are going to eat anywhere in Hvar town, I would recommend eating in this restaurant. It was an excellent all round experience.

A great choice for a laid-back, family-style meal with generous portions. The alley dining setup makes it a unique and fun experience, though it can get distracting around 7–8 PM when lots of people are passing by looking for last-minute tables. We ordered the fish first choice and, at our server’s suggestion, combined the mussels and clams with the lobster spaghetti since they share the same sauce—it worked out perfectly. The service was attentive and friendly, which added to the experience. Overall, a casual spot with hearty portions and a lively atmosphere.

The location outside in the stones is nice with lots of people walking by. Service is very fast. The food is really good. We had lobster spaghetti and seafood risotto. The sauce of each dish was the same- light, flavorful, delicious. They only accept cash. The service was nice. A great choice.

Macondo is a little gem we were lucky to come across, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. We managed to get a table without a reservation, which felt like a win given how popular it is. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff offered excellent recommendations that made the meal feel like a true local experience. The family-style plates were perfect for sharing, giving us a chance to try a variety of dishes that were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. It felt less like dining out and more like being invited to someone’s home for an authentic meal. If you find yourself in the area, Macondo is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, great vibe, and an experience that stays with you.

Setting is lovely, but food quality was poor, and not a good value for the money. The mussel dish and the mussels and clams dish, as well as the seafood risotto, featured shellfish that tasted like it had been cooked well before we ordered it. While edible, the mussels were rubbery. There are much better places in Hvar for the same price or less.

I’m really dissatisfied that waiters were very neutral with us ( not in a good way) probably of looking Queer. We saw that they were more friendly with other guests and they were not even interested to have a chat with US in comparison with the other people seated. Food was okay bud overpriced and THEN customer service just didn’t feet my expectations

Wow.. we had amazing time here. Best food in Hvar.. The service at the restaurant by 2 the brothers was great. They were very attentive, so helpful and funny too. They adjusted the food to my allergies. The sitting is at the rooftop and I must say it felt so special. No unnecessary noises of the people near the dock area. People should definitely try here. Fantastic restaurant, situated up on a cozy rooftop with great views overlooking the City. The food was even better than the view. The burrata with pesto was delicious. For the main, we ordered the daily catch of the day (seabass) roasted in a pan with garlic and a white wine sauce, together with vegetables. Could eat this every day for the rest of our vacation. Highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and attentively taken care of by Luka and Duje, who made us feel like honored guests. 10/10 experience here, the service was the best we had in our 2 week trip in Europe, he continuously refilled our glasses with the bottle we ordered and gave us recommendations and was overall such a delight. We got the beef tartare and haven’t stopped talking about it since, we also enjoyed the tuna (GET IT RARE !!) and the beef pasta and both were SO good. I’d love to relive this meal. The food was the best meal we had our entire trip in Croatia! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive and sitting outside in the street was something out of a dream! The lavender tiramisu was a highlight!

This came highly recommended online as somewhere that was a “must visit” in Hvar. We had the sea bass which was incredible. I’ve never had such a tasty prawn before (lol!). The veal was a little tough and fatty which my partner was disappointed in and would order something else next time. We had a lovely time and had excellent service despite this.

Everything was very good here. Upscale restaurant, with the chef apparently being a MasterChef winner. Cocktails were very tasty. We started with a tomato + burrata cream appetizer ("Summer Affair") which was excellent and arguably better than the mains - should have simply ordered (x4) of these and called it a great night out! 😂 For mains, we ordered the Octopus and Gregada. Both were very good. I'd say the Gregada could have had a bit more food on the plate, but otherwise very tasty. The Octopus was delicious as well and I would highly recommend it. Finished with a fabulous Lavender Tiramisu for dessert! Overall, great experience. Staff were very good. As mentioned, it's an upscale restaurant so prices are even more elevated than the rest of Hvar Town but worth it for the experience.

We need to start of why we chose this restaurant, we passed this with our maxi-cosi with our 2 month old baby. Hvar is not build for this so we had trouble finding a way down without to many stairs. The staff of this restaurant wanted to help us down, even without us having any intention to eat here. This shows that they have hospitality build in their soul and it is not just their job. Few days later we came back for dessert after a not so good experience at another restaurant. The dessert was WAUW, my wife couldn't stop saying how good it was. So we decided to come back the day after for the whole experience. And it was fantastic! Our host was helpful as always. We took a 3 course meal, both my wife and me took different things so we could taste from each other. Not only the service, but also the food was perfect.

I were starving and wanted a Croatian food and this place was really good surprise!!! Absolutely everything is made here super fresh, the atmosphere is exactly like a Croatian family received you in with an stunning ocean local view (seriously watch this the side walk was a entertainment a part) The fish was amazingly fresh, they even offer to separate the bones themselves before we could eat (but I like to do it by myself). The wine is local and the suggestion of rose couldn’t be better. Listen to them and try what the house suggests. We try the onion ice cream, yes ONION! And yes, do it!!!! They made it fresh and it’s incredible good!!!

Best meal in Hvar! We decided to get seafood for today's dinner! We first started off with the fried calamari which was one of the best calamari we have ever tried. For the second entre was the smoked mussle which was amazing, we've never tried mussle that taste and smell that good and for the the final entre we got the sesame crusted tuna steak which was very delicious aswel 😋 Service was 10/10 very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend this family own restaurant to anyone that visits Hvar. Please don't hesitate on the prices, the quality of the food and service is beyond amazing. Thank you!

We had two nights on Hvar. We found this place by chance and had an awesome sushi night! The service and food was amazing! The next night we wanted to try another roof top restaurant. We sat down and no one came to our table for 15 minutes. We got up and went back to Passarola and had an amazing steak night. Tony and Bruno are the best waiters anywhere. A lovely restaurant in Hvar old town offering outstanding ambiance, food and service. The rooftop terrace is beautiful and airy. Very high quality. We both had the pasticada , a local braised sweet and sour beef and gnocchi dish that had been recommended . We coupled this with a bottle of the local Bartul Plavac Barrique, which was very nice. Highly recommended. *** Edit *** I just read some other reviews mentioning poor service. We saw no evidence of this during our visit. Our waiter was attentive and helpful, and it looked to be a similar experience at the other tables.

This was the most amazing dining experience we had during our 5 day visit to Hvar. This restaurant is absolutely beautifull! Al fresco dining at its best. After we were seated we were greeted within a minute by our server Bruno. I cannot say enough about the level of service he provided. He made excellent recommendations for all courses and Bruno is also a certified sommelier! He knew everything about the local wines and took the time to tell us about what made each one special. It made the evening so special. The atmosphere is lovely - great music, soft lighting, expertly prepared food, with 5 star service, and very reasonably priced. I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant.

Passarola was a highlight of our time in Hvar! Absolutely loved my dinner here ! They were so generous and gave us Prosecco as soon as we sat down. The house white wine was fantastic. The cured ham with melon was delicious and the seafood risotto was so flavourful and filled with fish. Such an amazing meal and the best ambiance. If you’re ever in Hvar you need to check this place out. Not to mention the food was actually reasonably priced as compared to all the over priced restaurants here. 10/10

There are not enough stars that I could give to this amazing, charming restaurant. We went there for breakfast every morning of our time there. It was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. €15pp for made to order eggs, bread, cakes, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, etc. They also had GF options. Not only was it an amazing deal but the service was also amazing. 10/10 recommend.

Such an amazing restaurant! So cozy atmosphere and we had a so warm welcoming experience from our waitress Rosa. We got a glass of prosecco as a welcome drink on the house, and also some bruschetta during our waiting for the food. Riquísima la comida We visited Lucillus on two consecutive nights during our 3-day stay in Hvar that’s how much we loved it. When people are naturally warm and welcoming, you just know the food is going to be amazing, and that was definitely the case here. Rosa was an incredible host, her smile radiates pure, honestly, if I ever return to Hvar, it will be to dine at this restaurant again… and this time, I’d stay at the hotel too (I didn’t even realise it was part of one). My boyfriend tried a few different dishes fresh fish one night and a variety of meats the next, and everything was full of flavour and beautifully presented. If you’re in Hvar, don’t miss this gem. So very unique and beautiful. All of our food was cooked via outdoor kitchen- which appeared to use a a wood fired grill and oven. We were served platters of prawns, whole white fish, tuna, risotto, octopus, squid, and more deliciousness. The owner informed our group that each private, outdoor, dining room and all of the furniture was built on site from materials sourced on site too.

Weather your spending time in one of the tree house tables, eating lunch or just being fancy in a cabana by the sea you won’t be disappointed! Yes the prices are high but what would you expect from a remote beach bar in the area of Hvar known for its luxury?! Make a reservation and set up a boat transfer directly with the bar. Don’t forget to always try the local wine!

The octopus salad is refreshing and the risotto is just the right balance of rice vs seafood. My personal fave is the lamb as it’s cooked perfectly - not too tough and there’s no gamey taste. We wanted the brodetto initially but that needs to be ordered in advance. Dinner costs HRK700 for 2 pax. Do note that they only accept cash so pls bring enough.

A small intimate venue with excellent service. The menu is a mix of freshly caught seafood and meat, and having tried a number of the dishes, we can confirm the food is delicious. The meals are well presented and exceeded our expectations. Although slightly out of town, this restaurant is well worth the walk. It is truly a hidden gem.

We had a fantastic dinner. Perfectly cooked. It's such a cozy place to enjoy. We were surprised, that our server spoke in our language with us, Italian and German to the other guests. They also organized a parking for our car!!! Reservation is highly recommended. For us, it is the Nr. 1 restaurant in Hvar!!!

My partner and I have eaten here now on three occasions during our holiday, we have really enjoyed the food and overall experience dining at the Agava. We had seafood on all three nights and it was extremely good. Chocolate soufflé for desert is amazing! The location has a lovely atmosphere and the service is very warm / friendly, We would highly recommend the restaurant and a must to try if you are in Hvar!

We reserved a place day in advance, but when we arrived the waiter informed us that he was not informed about our reservation. We ordered drinks, which arrived after 25 minutes, while we waited for the food for another hour and a half. My medium-rare stake arrived well done, and with additional side dish that I did not order (and was not informed that it is included) - I returned it and the replacement came frosen in the middle. The place was almost empty, apart from our group there was only one other occupied table. The vegetables were excellent, and the rest of the group was relatively satisfied with their fish dishes. If you like meat - avoid at all costs!

We had a wonderful time at the Konoba and tasting room. The food was excellent and crafted to the highest standards. The wine is delicious, and is truly like no other in Dalmatia. I highly recommend Konoba Huljić for anyone who wants a unique and comprehensive wine experience!

We came here with my friend during our trip to Hvar. He has been there before, and was strongly recommending the place, but this time the experience was different. We were seated and given the menu. It took us a while to choose something, as we don't usually eat fish or seafood. Eventually, we were ready to order, but the waiter told us that they don't have many ingredients, due to the upcoming closure of the restaurant, so there was like 30% of the fish menu still available. Which has left us with not so many options to choose from, and the waiter was recommending us one of the positions in quite a persistent way. We ordered something else in the end. Indeed, the food was delicious, and the place itself is lovely and unique, but the situation of rechoosing in a rush was pretty upsetting and inconvenient and would be solved easily, just if we were told about the limited choice options before we have chosen unavailable dishes. Still, I believe, you may get a better experience if you go there in the middle of the touristic season. Let's see the next time we're in Croatia.

Posting about the winery since the tavern and winery have the same owner. Small but impressive operation — visited early in the season but they opened up the place for us. Unique, interesting, and tasty wines. Very much recommended.

Located a 10minute walk from Hvar or a similar distance back towards Hvar from Robinson bay, it sits alone as an idyllic spot. You could spend a whole day there - by the sea (there are sun loungers and snorkels), on the terraces on beds or hammocs or on the veranda where there are delicious food and drink. Its rather like being on the set of MammaMia. The food is simply superb - top quality local ingredients well and generously presented. The owner is very welcoming and a joy to meet.

This little gem, seemingly 'in the middle of nowhere' - accessible only on foot through the woods or by boat - offers everything you might wish for: free lemonade at the entrance, cold drinks and freshly prepared food. Even bathing suits & t-shirts available, if you forgot to bring one! Magnificent views, chic design, chill music, friendly staff, cocktails, superb wine - it's a paradise!

what an amazing place Manu the owner and host is an amazing person she makes you feel so welcome. Her and her team are just fantastic and her cooking is second to none. One of the best settings I’ve ever been to in my life. The food was phenomenal. spent the day on one of the daybeds looking at the ocean swimming snorkeling and smiling. I highly recommend you visit. It’s a little off the beaten path, but that’s what makes it unique and beautiful. I took the Robinson water taxi directly from the marina and it dropped me off right at her dock. Really simple about a 10 minute ride please go visit you will not regret it

Pachamama is the place you have to go if you are in Hvar! The service is amazing staff is kind and polite food is delicious and massive portion. The boss is very flexible and helpful! Happy our is kicking off 5pm. Thank you for your this experience Pachamama we will come back for sure❤️

Great food (we had bruschetti, octopus salad and tuna steak); refreshing cocktails; very friendly staff (owner Manu and our waitress from Argentina); amazing views. It's about 30 min hike from Hvar (mostly downhill and flat, with tree shaded areas), but it's definitely worth it.

Great vibes and food! The kitchen had closed but Manuela still took me in and made me an excellent carbonara for dinner. What a great treat after a day of hiking. A short walk from town, I recommend it while checking out the beautiful beaches here.

We wanted veggie-only menu (which is fairly rare to find in Croatia!) and owner was very accommodating- even doing some on the fly changes specifically for us. Everything was delicious. The view is amazing, the whole place has an excellent chilled vibe and owner is half Croatian / half Italian which is our new favorite fusion ! Can’t recommend this place enough.

The food was really great👍 there is an insane view of the sea and all the boats. The service was very nice, Ivan was our waiter. We got free drinks at the beginning and at the end. Kids get a free dessert. I definitely recommend this place

The service was excellent and so was the atmosphere. I ended up ordering the marinated sardines for entree, and the cuttlefish and broad bean stew for mains. It was the best meal I had during my one week in Croatia. My waiter was Antonio and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. I was too full for dessert and Antonio recommended a lovely walking route which made it a perfect evening. Thank you Antonio.

The service was impeccable! Our waiter was so professional and polite. Hidden an amazing job.! Everybody liked their food. We got a whole fish steak and fish soup. All were very tasty.!! The view is beautiful.!

The best thing about this restaurant is service - many thanks two two Serbian boys and one Macedonian. They really put a lot of effort into hosting us, providing friendly & polite service. Boys are young (one has 18) but very well mannered. Food was average. Salad was kinda old, especially tomato & dry cucumbers, you need to put seasoning by yourself that is ok but salad than needs to be fresh. Fish was fresh ! There is a nice view , it is not the first raw but still you can see the see, that gives a calm feeling. On another side of our table we have a view to the tower.

Great location & their Pašticada is a must try. They have traditional dishes you can enjoy on the rooftop overlooking the water. We loved their Pašticada so much we wanted seconds. We were not fans of the chocolate dessert. Would recommend!

It's an amazing eating experience with the beautiful sunset view with Plava Alga. My boyfriend and I are in Hvar for his Spantan event. We ordered fish soup (I finished it right away and didn't take pictures), fresh fish for 2, and the restaurant offered free chocolate cake. They're very delicious. We will come back tomorrow night for dinner again. We recommend it to everyone!

Had a great meal at Plava Alfa ,ordered the Black Risotto which was delicious. Service was fantastic, thank you for the extra treats of dessert and honey wine! Having blankets available was a lovely touch for the cool spring evening. Great experience-would definitely come back again.

We came across this place by chance and felt very lucky to have a table on the balcony for dinner. We had the fish stew which was great value for money in comparison to other places we had been. Beautifully cooked. Special shout out to Dragan for his very attentive service. Brilliant!

Great place! Great service - they were super nice and polite, offering us a real local experience with food, wine and common details. Great food - I had seafood, my boyfriend beef, and all the aditionals we took were also great. The portions were really big, we couldn't eat it all. Great atmosphere - right on the main walking area, we could really experience the city at its finest, enjoying the summer breeze next to the sea and all the boats. The tables were nicely made and prepared, neat and with all the necessary details, nothing was missing. It is preferred to have a prior reservation, but they found a table for us at the spot, so that's possible as well. I will definitely visit this place again!

The best lunch we had while in Croatia! Family run for over 50 years, this place is incredible. We were served by the absolute sweetest mom and daughter duo. The food was amazing - get the homemade black ravioli and grilled prawns!!!! So good, we almost ordered more. You really can’t ask for more than this place. The best food, a great view, impeccable service, and immaculate vibe and atmosphere. Highly recommend!!!

Recommendation from the menu was perfect - we had the scorpion fish which was just like a John Dory and the service was really good. The kids were a bit chilly so they gave them blankets. Would definitely come again x

Must try this adorable 50 year old family owned restaurant. The daughter was our server, such a nice young lady just 14! The mother and father run the restaurant and the grandmother the baker. 10/10 experience. We enjoyed fresh oysters, black ravioli and the most amazing prawns I’ve ever had. Not to mention the view was chef’s kiss. Highly recommend!!!

We had a large group and were treated quite well. Several of us had fish filet and were able to share one large fresh fish. All said it was wonderful. Two of our party required gluten free and the restaurant was able to accommodate that. Everyone has a wonderful time and we highly recommend.

This restaurant was by far one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! The personnel was just extraordinary and welcoming from the very first second. The waitress took her time to tell us the story of the restaurant and also made a lot of suggestions on the choice of the food. The food was beyond our expectations. We choice a local fish for four, as well as mussels and pasta - everything was incredibly delicious. If you’re close by, make a stop at this amazing restaurant!! You will not regret it.

We were drawn into the restaurant by the lovely and charming owner, who told us about the history of the restaurant and so we were excited to support his family. Getting to my seat a waiter literally pushed me out of the way! Our luck that he turned out to be our server. He quickly let me know that the restaurant was busy & he was overwhelmed (I think he was trying to explain why he pushed me). I felt bad for him at that point and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and told him not to worry. But it didn’t get any better. It was clear that he was overworked and overwhelmed when he came back to take our order and repeated that they’re so busy. Throughout the dinner we felt rushed; it was not a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere whatsoever. And not once did he ask us if we needed anything or if our food was okay. The food: The truffle pizza and whole fish were delicious. The chicken caesar salad and the Greek salad were good. The tomato soup was not so great and tasted like pasta sauce in a bowl. Honestly the stars I took off were based on the horrible service - probably the worst service we’ve had during our month long trip.

After researching restaurants in Hvar Town, we were already leaning towards visiting this restaurant and then when put tour guide also recommended it, the deal was sealed! And we were not disappointed! We went three times during our stay and ate different meals every time. All were delicious! We always found the staff to be friendly and professional and felt the prices were definitely reasonable when compared with other meals we'd had on the island. Highly recommend!

In our two day stay in Hvar, we came here three times - and it never disappointed. The pasta and pastiçada were gorgeous however the grilled calamari and the fish platter were fabulous. Fully recommend this place.

The food and drinks were excellentfresh and beautifully presented but what really made the difference was the outstanding service. 👉 We had the octopus salad , green risotto and absolutely loved the fried polenta starter.🐙♥️

We went here two nights in a row. It has by far the best atmosphere and service. The food was excellent. The pizza was the best we had on Hvar (we ate it too quickly to get a picture). This IS the place for homemade, authentic dishes made from scratch. The man who seats you so very nice and the servers were great! Espresso martini 10/10, I got the truffle and shrimp pasta and olive oil tasting. I was so happy with this meal. I have not had a decent meal yet and I’ve been in Croatia for about 5 days. This blew me away. I think I might come back again tonight! The traditional meat dish was so tender that sauce was perfection. I had tried this dish at another place and it was terrible so please with this experience please go here!

Great place for a quick late-night bite. We were here in early May during the off season and there was a very limited menu. Basically only pizza was available, and is decent but nothing to write home about. The rooftop terrace is gorgeous with lots of greenery and a beautiful view of Saint Stephens.

The place offers a typical downtown atmosphere, good experience and food at a reasonable price. The service was very good, Alexander and the rest of the team were always helpful to make sure everything was okay. We've been walking around the city, and unfortunately, most places cost more than 50 euros per person, which almost means it's 100% tourism, nothing for the locals and authentic flavors.

Just popped in with a group of 4 excellent service. The pizza was the best I've had in Europe lots of toppings and flavors. Awesome sitting on the rooftop

Starting from very bad service, forgotten appetizers and dreadful bread, this restaurant did finish off our experience with a fish platter with way to less fish on it and the calamari and the tuna steak way overdone and bearly cutable. The seafood pasta was also not good with doughy pasta noodles and lacking sea food both in quality and quantity. Only postive thing was the view, the wine and the mussles. Also the chicken wings were ok in quality but too less in quantity, therefore the fries were ok in quality and very much in quantity. I would not recommend to go to this restaurant.

First many thanks to a wonderful service by Iva. This is a very reasonably priced and beautifully placed restaurant in the old part of Hvar town as you head towards the fortress. Eating out on the roof terrace is a must!!!

Really great food; much more reasonable than lots of other places in Hvar! Fab friendly service and a lovely spot with nice lighting on a roof terrace for dinner. We came at a quieter timer so was lacking a bit of atmosphere but the setting was lovely and maybe we just came at the wrong time?! Would recommend. Nice complimentary drinks was a bonus!

Warm and friendly staff who welcomed us for a lovely evening dinner at the rooftop terrace. For its prices we'd expect a better dish presentation, but at the end of the day it's taste that matters, and this was without a doubt a most delicious meal. The selection of local wines was excellent. P.S. One of the best cheesecakes we've ever had!

Simply the best, like always ! Very good food and service, friendly staff, nice view to the port and sea. We come back to this place every year, already looking forward for next year holiday. Lunch not crowdy, you can just go and get a table. For dinner, recommended to make a reservation as it might get very crowdy in some days. Short selection of what we served during last 2 weeks : sea bass in the oven, shark stew with gnocchi, fried squids with grilled vegetables, skewers, pork chops with fries, shark gregada ... all very good, all the time.

This restaurant is nothing short of amazing. We ordered the white fish of the day from the grill with some Bogdanusa wine. Along with the view this was one of the best experiences we've had ever. Must go-to place when on Hvar!

Superb representation of Southern Hvar, the food was fantastic! Truly great flavor at great pricing. The ambiance is the ideal setting with views and great music. Will make this a regular spot to bring friends when visiting the island! Pictures I added do not do justice. I wish I would've taken pictures of the entrees ordered, I did add the pictures of what they were from the menu- the Greek salad ($10 euro) fresh vegetables, generous portions and scrumptious with a side of the grilled chicken.

WOW! The setting, food and service were all home runs. The 'Green Gnochi' were SO tasty, light, perfect. The rosemary skewer with rib eye and veggies was so perfectly seasoned and cooked. While eating, you are looking out at that perfect Adriatic water color on the bay and can even stroll down the street a hundred meters and take a swim after lunch. Really recommend this place.

seafood pasta is to die for! swordfish carpaccio sublime! beautiful little beach next to the resto and nudist beach few steps away. heaven and perfect spot for all day trip!

One of the finest restaurants on the island of Hvar. Excellent fish dishes. Especially their signature dish "crna teca", or fruity di mare. Swordfish carpaccio is a must as well. Service in Davor is as friendly as it gets. If you ever visit Hvar, especially south side, you have to visit Davor.

We had the yummiest Hawaiian Poke Bowl and Pad Thai! Very nice server too and cute alley way. Yes the pad Thai tastes different than in the states, but it was still so good! Would definitely eat here again.

Lovely little sushi restaurant in a nice courtyard. There’s a 30% off your entire bill deal from 6-7pm every day too! The sushi and poké was tasty and fresh. Service was prompt and friendly. Would recommend.

Such good food! We had the rozeta sushi roll which was sooo good! Also had the gyoza which was nice and crispy. The curry bowl ( a Thai red curry with veg chicken and prawns ) was perfect with good sushi rice on the side. We arrived at 7 and our bill came with 30% off. The waiter told us 6-7 there is a discount, still gave us this even though we turned up at 7. Really liked that

The hospitality from the hostess and waiters/waitresses were amazing. However, the food was such a let down unfortunately. The Mongolian beef wok dish was pretty much rice drenched in soup and 4 pieces of meat that tasted average at best. We also ordered the tuna poke bowl and the tuna was mushy and small which was definitely not fresh which was so disappointing. The sushi wasn’t great but probably the best you could probably get in Hvar. Not worth the price you pay for.

The Pad Thai was a huge disappointment — it didn’t even taste like real Pad Thai. It wasn’t made with rice noodles, came with only two shrimp, and was served barely warm. It completely lacked that authentic Asian flavour and atmosphere. The sushi was also underwhelming — just average at best, with nothing memorable. Honestly, I deeply regret not trying the Asian restaurant right across the street instead. Definitely won’t be coming back.

We love discovering great food spots outside the hustle of the city, and this place absolutely blew us away. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted me like an old friend, super friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to be there. It instantly set the tone for the experience.The vibe is warm, relaxed, and inviting. Now for the food, absolutely delicious. You can tell there's a lot of care put into every dish. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and a menu with both creative twists and comforting classics. Whether you’re local or just passing through, it’s 100% worth a visit.

The most amazing food and dining experience I have had in Hvar. The server was super nice and outgoing and the food was just fabulous. We tried every appetizer there was and I cant decide which one I liked better. We also had the fish al forno - best fish I ever had! I highly recommend this place! The prices might be a bit more on the higher side, but trust me it is worth it.

Stajun is one of our all time favorite stops for lunch or dinner. Besides the immaculate flavor profiles of each dish, there is apparent craftsmanship that makes each plate stunning. This chef is a master of his art! We loved feeling at home with the help of Ana and Vlad! Will be making this restaurant a must do anytime we are in Hvar!

Vladimir was our fabulous server! This was a recommendation from a server at another restaurant. He said you must try it. Everything is very fresh! We had a scallop starter served with mint and pesto that was spectacular. Vladimir suggested tortellini stuffed with shrimp in a tomato sauce and a fresh fettuccine with shrimp and asparagus pesto. They were both exceptional. For dessert we had 2 beautiful dishes served on limestone. The presentation was 💯 I would highly recommend this on your next trip to Hvar.

We loved our dinner here. We shared the scallops which were incredible! Then had the octopus and fish fillet for our mains - both great. Wouldn’t recommend the potatoes and greens as it’s only 2 small steamed potatoes with mostly wilted greens. Location is hidden down a lane and opens into a really beautiful terrace garden. This has probably been our best meal in our visit to Croatia and we have had some fabulous meals! The food, the atmosphere, and the service were beyond fabulous. So scrumptious, so relaxing and what a meal should always be: slow and flavorful. Vladimir was an excellent waiter and host. One of the best meals of my life!

We had an amazing experience at Stajun in Hvar. The food was outstanding. The tuna tartare was honestly the best I’ve ever had! The atmosphere is charming and the service is impeccable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Hvar.

It was an enjoyable experience. We only had appetizers. We loved the raw scallop dish and delicious charred artichokes, and the clams vongole pasta. We came here before our hotel room was ready and they were kind to let us store our bags. They have a great wine list. I bet their main dishes are delicious. We did not enjoy the tuna tartare…. It was bizarrely plated & appeared a bit dirty. The tuna was served in sweet, thin, crumbly mini waffle cones.. and did not have much flavour at all… and we really disliked how its plated in a bowl of dry lentils & chunks of dried figs..

Very nice restaurant. We enjoyed the tuna steak and lamb steak, both were delicious! Peaceful and romantic atmosphere, and the service attention was fabulous. Highly recommended!!

This konoba was highly recommended by a lovely lady from one of the shops just around the corner. The way she beautifully described the ethos and the way the chef serves the tuna steak made our mouth watering. And she did not underpromise - this is the “simply” the best tuna steak we have ever enjoyed so far. It is so juicy but so incredible tender you almost want to only use your fingers to gently pull it apart. - as if it was caught just a few ours ago. The waiter confirmed, he would serve nothing else but fresh quality. 😍 We cannot wait to come back!!!

We have been for a month, eating in some great places in London, Paris, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Mostar, but tonight’s dinner was easily the best! Chef Vinko prepared just caught Adriatic tuna grilled along with (also) grilled zucchini and salad made of butter lettuce just picked out of the garden (in front of our very eyes)!!!! The desert was semi fredo with almonds, salted caramel syrup, strawberries… my vocabulary is very poor to describe this poetry in my mouth! The stuff is friendly, speak few languages, helpful, and readily available to answer all our questions. Our waiter was Vjeko, very knowledgeable and amazing young man. Tavern Batana is the place that we will always go back, bring all of our friends to, and recommend to everyone who ask where to eat. We give 5 stars, just because they don’t offer more than that!!!! The wine was house white, aperitif was carob liquor and digestive was cherry liquor.

Update 2023: Mandatory to be here! Made it 4 times within 2 weeks. Excellent food, as allways. Thank you also for great hospitality! Anazing. Again. Had Beef/Polenta in fermented Garlic Sauce. Not much places you get great stuff like this. Will have a Traverica now and think about which desert… 😋

I have actually been here many years ago with my wife. It was truly memorable. With COVID lockdown lifted, we decided to come back. The food here is fantastic. Truly sublime. The food outshined many many other rated "Michelin Star" restaurants. Also, a quick note about the staff and chef; wonderful people. The chef came out to talk to us and made us feel welcome. If ever you find yourself on the Dalmatian coast, especially on this gem of an island, Hvar. Come and see for yourself why the Romans fell in love.

If you want to experience passionate hospitality, phenomenal food and a family run restaurant, then this is the place for you. Set in a gorgeous little building, the waitress offered a tour and to show the food being made! The truffle pasta was breathtaking! I cannot recommend this place enough, it’s up the streets from the main promenade and so worth it!

It was amazing, lovely service, excellent vegetarian option - I think the only place I’ve seen grilled Tofu in Hvar… and homemade pudding - everything was gorgeous and we stumbled upon this place. Only found it as all the ‘recommended’ places were packed out full.

Good food and very attentive and polite service; food size is definitively enough but they claim (in the menu) that it will be 400g squid (see the picture). Additionally, they literally asked me to free up the table when I had finished my food, not my drink. I understand that’s getting busy but then tell people upfront table is max for up to 45 minutes...

We have excellent dinner grilled lobster for main course and cheese ravioli with truffle sous for starters for end gorgeous wild orange cake which is by the way gluten-free. A truly great experience. Away from the overcrowded Hvar to the nice and calm Stari Grad. Great location, friendly staff but, above all, the high quality food made this one of the better places we experienced in Croatia. Try the steak fillet with Rucola and Parmesan or the chicken Gorgonzola. Good local wines from Stari Grad. The red was excellent - Plavac 2015. Thanks!

Ok resturant. Food was and drinks was good but service just ok. For only our party first they missed one mojito, then a burger and last they had added one water to much on the bill. They were polite and apologized so it was not a big thing hopefully just a bad day.
