Vegetarian restaurant
Vegan restaurant
LOV is a charming restaurant located at 464 McGill St, offering a refined selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes in a stylishly decorated space with a patio and bar. The menu features an array of global influences, including the banh mi burger and gnocchi. The whimsical decor includes white brick walls, rustic chandeliers, hanging woven egg swings, and dried wildflowers. In addition to its delightful ambiance, LOV offers vegan paraphernalia for purchase.
If we could give more than five stars, we would do it. The food was amazing: it was flavourful, tasty, and the presentation was impeccable. Our waiter, Kevin, was very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. There is something special about some of the appetizers: we tried three, and we are going to be back to have some of them again. I've never tasted (veggie) calamari as good as these. Aranchini were soft and had perfectly balanced flavors. All the sauces, even every one of those tiny amounts placed around the edge of a dish, balanced the flavor perfectly. Overall, this restaurant provides an exquisite experience, and we will be back.

Exceptional experience! I came across this restaurant on Google maps and would like to try something different from my planned trips. It turned out amazing. All the staves were amazing, warmly welcomed with great treat. Food- beyond expectations. Location- super Ambience- perfect Staves- outstanding Service- fantastic.
Quangvinh D — Google review
Superb service, the waitress was incredibly sweet and professional. She did not hurry us at all despite ordering 30 minutes before closing time. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. Most importantly the food was incredibly tasteful and beautifully plated. All in all, wonderful ambience, short walk from the metro and quick service of incredible food could not recommend this place enough.
Raven D — Google review
I remember watching a buzzfeed video about this place a long time ago and figured if I’d be in the area I would visit. Worthwhile decision! I got seated quickly during lunch hours by really friendly staff. I ordered fish tacos and the kimchi fries (the main point of visiting) which came out quickly and looked very appetizing. The food was delicious and so well seasoned. This spot is vegetarian/vegan based and I feel it proves that meat doesn’t always shine. The atmosphere was also felt very inviting and chill. I highly recommend coming here and getting some great food!
Matthew K — Google review
One of the best Vegan/Vegetarian restaurants I have ever been to. The food was so so so amazing — the dumplings and calamari are to die for. The sauces match the taste palette perfectly and are paired with the right dish every time. I had the Big LOV Cheeseburger and the patty, sauce, and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside bun made it extraordinary. But out of all of this, the desserts had to be the absolute best. All completely vegan, they tasted incredible! First time around, we got the Crème Brûlée which was amazing! Second time we got the cherry crumble and brownie. The cherry crumble had a wonderful vegan yogurt base with the perfect ratio of cherry to crumble. The brownie was very nice and rich, the warmth was very fulfilling! The manager & chef was very nice and welcoming. 5/5, would recommend!

Chose this restaurant for brunch given the vegan/vegetarian menu and the kid friendly options. I'd really love to have loved it more - the kids waffles were liked my by kids, but the faux eggs benedict was way too vinegary, and while I realize not liking something isn't necessarily a reason that you'd get reimbursed, the server saw the full plate, asked if we want a takeout box, then didn't really say anything when we gave the feedback that we didn't like the meal. The tofu was good but again there was something off, perhaps it was just too savory/umami/vinegary for what we're used to. We had the same complaints as others that the seats were too close together.
Jessica D — Google review
We had the truffle risotto, the Cari Coco bowl, the brownie, and the crème brûlée — everything was delicious! The crème brûlée was the best we’ve ever had. The service was good, though the dining room was a bit cold.
Morgan M — Google review
Stopped by LOV McGill during a recent trip to Montréal and was pleasantly surprised. I had the house-made vegan burger—not your typical Impossible or Beyond patty, which was a nice change. Flavorful, satisfying, and held together well. Definitely a solid choice if you’re looking for a good plant-based burger. Highly recommend going with the sweet potato fries over the regular ones—they’re crispier and have way more flavor. We liked it enough to come back a second time. I tried the fish taco (also vegan), and it was actually really good—great texture and seasoning, one of the standouts on the menu. Overall, a great spot for anyone looking for a vegetarian or vegan-friendly meal in a stylish, casual setting. Worth a visit even if you’re not strictly plant-based.

Asian restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Jatoba is a chic and sophisticated restaurant located in downtown, offering a modern twist on Asian cuisine. The interior features stylish elements such as exposed brick walls and hanging red lanterns, creating an impressive ambiance. Known for its beautifully presented seafood dishes, including salmon, cod, and dumplings, the restaurant has garnered praise from both critics and patrons alike since its establishment in 2014. Chef Olivier Vigneault's innovative cocktails complement the exquisite menu.
⸻ Absolutely delicious! The cod recommended by the server was excellent, and the mushroom side dish was just as impressive. The bartender, a genuinely friendly man, customized a cocktail to suit my taste — a nice touch that made the experience even more enjoyable. I come to this restaurant often because the dishes are consistently flavorful and well-executed. My bill came to $200 for a cocktail, one main dish, a vegetable side, and a glass of wine. It’s not cheap, but the food and service are definitely worth the price. Highly recommended for a refined yet welcoming dining experience.
Isabelle B — Google review
Jatoba is on some PREMIUM shit. Yes, the pricing is high, but so is the quality across the board. The food is exceptional. Every dish, from signature plates to secondary sides, feels intentional and well-composed. Ingredients are ultra-fresh, and the balance of flavors shows real technique and care. Even the items that aren't meant to steal the spotlight still bring something memorable- like the slaw and sesame salad. The ambiance is another win. The covered back terrace is a perfect summer vibe, lush, stylish, and just far enough removed from the downtown noise. Inside, the decor hits that sweet spot between elegant and contemporary. Service was attentive and on point throughout. The staff knows the menu well and makes the whole experience feel seamless. If you really want to enjoy Jatoba, go with a group of 4–5, order wide, and spend $1000.
Ryan S — Google review
The whole experience was absurdly fun and wonderful, very enjoyable staff members, food is just delightful and the cocktails are really special for the type of establishment they are running. The inside decor fits the theme perfectly and it feels like a whole atmosphere to eat in. Only “bad” point about my dining experience, the waitress never gave us the dessert card, another waiter came and offered it, seeing as the waitress assigned to my table was busy, but I personally don’t consider it a negative point, simply shows that they all work together in a team at Jatoba. Definitely go for the experience.
Emmanu — Google review
Beautiful place and great ambiance. Food is very fresh and vibrant. Many options for meat and fish. Staff were all on point with well informed on all dishes and pairings. Dessert options are also vast. Must try spot.
Claudio S — Google review
I had high expectations. I was disappointed from the moment I checked in for my dinner date. The hostess was unfriendly and unwelcoming- like showing up to purchase a pack of gun from an airport vendor. I sat at the bar waiting and ordered a drink which took a very long time to arrive. My friend showed and she ordered a drink and it was slow. The atmosphere is perfect. 5/5. Beautiful. Not to noisy. Intimate. We asked for recommendations from waiter for dinner and got maki, nigiri, nori and then dumplings and gyoza. Food was 3/5 as I’ve had way better sushi in Vancouver or Calgary at 1/2 the price. Anyhow it’s a nice spot. Average food and service and very expensive. I would not return or recommend.
Crabby E — Google review
Many years ago, I first tried black cod and Asian fusion here—it opened up a whole new world for me. It’s an old restaurant known for its excellent quality ingredients. Be sure to book ahead, it’s very popular.
Ashely L — Google review
First time going to Jatoba and it was an amazing experience. Probably the best food I’ve had in a while. The sashimi and maki was delightful and presentation was also great. The food came out fast but that could be because I went during lunch. The atmosphere is great and beautiful to look at. The waiting staff was also amazing, and was constantly filling up our cups of water and asking if we were okay. I will for sure be coming back in the future, maybe for dinner next time! It is on the pricier side but definitely worth it. The food is fresh and good!
Diamond S — Google review
Culinary excellence at its finest. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the unique way in which the flavours come together in each dish is just sensational and a true work of art. Even the cocktails are crafted to perfection. The ambiance at Jatoba is chic and vibrant, with comfortable seating. Service is fantastic. It is a gem of a place, and the absolute perfect setting to enjoy delectable, refined Asian cuisine. Forever a favourite !

Portuguese restaurant
Bar & grill
Restaurant
Nestled in a charming stone building in Old Montreal, Porto Mar Restaurant offers a cozy and rustic ambiance, making it one of the more down-to-earth Portuguese dining spots in town. The menu features an array of classic Portuguese dishes, including fresh seafood like shrimp, whelks, and sardines, as well as various meat options such as sirloin steak and calf liver. Whether you're a fan of surf or turf, both are equally celebrated by diners.
Attentive service and incredible and tasty food ! We tried a Portuguese soda pop juice passion fruit and orange and it was so sweet and good. Also we tried the mix grill for meats and it was amazing!!!! The steak was juicy. Also we had their fresh vegetable soup of the day and some salads. Good choice on our end and we found this spot accidentally Amazing and cozy spot 🩵🩵 loved it so much
Marysabel G — Google review
I give it 3 stars because the classic Portuguese dish was not tasty. Namely rice with seafood. They first brought this dish to me spicy (it's not a spicy dish), then they remade it, but it still wasn't good. I thought the problem was the rice and the sauce. Nevertheless, the homemade sausages were delicious. The cocktails were good, too. The service was excellent.
Oleksandra G — Google review
We went to Porto PT last year. This dinner was a treat from a dear friend we caught up with in Montreal. It was very good. The atmosphere was terrific. Going to the toilette is its own adventure. (Stairs)
Vanessa W — Google review
Very old school restaurant with an uninspired menu and relatively small portion. This is sort of a local tourist trap, you can literally go one street up and try 20 much better restaurants at a similar price point. Why my client wanted to go there I have no idea but it was a very disappointing and underwhelming experience. Like eating cafeteria food, served in cafeteria dishes and a crumbling setting that hasn't been renovated in like 40 plus years. Do yourself a favor and just cross the street and go to Gibby's you will thank me for it.
Alex B — Google review
This was without a doubt the worst calamari we have ever had. It was served bland and rubbery; a stark contrast from any other calamari we have had. When we discussed this with the waitress she dismissed our feedback saying that this was the proper way of cooking Portuguese Calamari. I thought it may have been a bad batch, but I found another review from a Portuguese national that had the same complaints, so maybe it is just the way they prefer to make the calamari.
S P — Google review
A unique and perfect experience. Great food and one of the best priced meals we had in the area on our trip. Highly recommend which does not come easily from me.
Lorne F — Google review
The food was good, but what really made the evening was everything else. The service was excellent: the owner and chef came by for a friendly chat, and our server, Jaiden, was kind and attentive without hovering. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, with tasteful Portuguese-inspired décor and music that set the tone without overwhelming conversation. We brought our son along and felt completely at ease; the place is family-friendly without being loud or chaotic. It’s not overly fancy or pretentious, and the staff treat you like real people, not like you’re at a formal banquet. If you're debating where to go for a relaxed family dinner, this spot is a solid choice.

Oyster supplier
Seafood restaurant
Located in the bustling Jean-Talon Market of Montreal, La Boite Aux Huîtres is a hidden gem known for offering some of the freshest oysters in the city at reasonable prices. The spot serves a variety of flavors imported from different coasts and is popular among locals for its essential fixings of shaved horseradish and lemon. On Tuesdays, visitors can enjoy oysters for just a dollar each.
The oysters were incredibly fresh, with a great variety to choose from. The vibe was chill, and there was plenty of space for us to relax and enjoy our seafood. The service was friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. The prices were absolutely reasonable for the quality. We came a long way to visit again, this was our second time here, and we had no doubt about returning. We missed this place so much, and it definitely lived up to our memories!
Bela I — Google review
I felt like a kid in a candy store here. This is a brilliant shop. If you're in Montreal and you love oysters then you should make it a point to come here. Coming from New York City there were oysters of fantastic quality that I've had before. Most of the oysters were new to me. Their selection is outstanding. I can't wait to come back here again. Minor nit: The raspberry mignonette was just ok. The cocktail sauce could use more flavor. I was keen on buying an apron that was on display. It was of great quality. Unfortunately they had none for sale. The other goods that they sell are of remarkable quality. I wish this place was close to home! Cheers!
Carlos B — Google review
The selection and freshness of their oysters is outstanding! The spicy classic sauce was delicious! And service is quick and friendly! Great oyster spot!!!
Craig W — Google review
Super friendly service and incredibly fresh oysters! I always order their Slurp Slurp Express and Tour du Monde so I can try different types — from salty and briny to creamy and buttery. Every time, it’s absolutely delicious. The cashier and staff are always nice, welcoming, and make the whole experience enjoyable. A must-try for any oyster lover!
Ngoc N — Google review
JEAN TALON MARKET - Yeah!! Third time lucky with bi-valves!! During the past year, this lack of self-discipline Bi-Valves lover ( and family members ) had suffered the wrath of food poisoning by having devour some tainted oysters at Barcelona’s Mercat de la Boqueria and London’s Borough Market. At Jean Talon Market, the sight of one of the most impressive oyster stalls ever came across was too much of a temptation for this oyster addict to pass-by. Armed with travel medical coverage and the fact that we are still in Canada, I decided to take the plunge and go for it!! Man! Am I glad I did. The ‘triple-checked’ ( according to the vendor owner ), pristine fresh products, served super cold were so ^^$$@$% good!! In particular, the JUMBO Mamacita, which was so umami sweet, plump and chewy, not overly salty or without an excessive metallic taste. The less imposing size Sea Angle was mighty fine too. But those super-sweet and crunchy Cherry Stone clams?! Wow!!!.....IMO, the best $2 bites in the world! Oh! BTW, this time I was protected by the Foodie God…..NO food poisoning symptoms!! Pheeeewww!!
Charles Y — Google review
Phenomenal experience my first time having oysters; the staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly! It was an absolute delight to spend a few minutes chatting and enjoying some fresh oysters! Definitely will be returning to try some more!
John P — Google review
I’ve been coming to this place for over 6 years and have always received great service. But today was very different. We are customers who regularly shuck our own oysters and we particularly enjoy Pacific Coast oysters for their unique taste. Today, however, we were served by someone who refused to sell us the oysters, explaining that he could not guarantee their freshness. We made it clear that we understood the risks, that we were comfortable with them, and that we are long-time regular customers (visiting monthly, and even every two weeks in high season). Despite this, he still refused—and his final comment was simply, “It’s my shop.” Coming from the owner, this attitude shows very little consideration for loyal customers and raises real questions about his approach to customer service. We left very disappointed, and decided not to purchase anything at all.
Mel W — Google review
My first time ever trying oysters was here and it was a success. Loved it so much and the cashier was extremely nice and informative.

Restaurant
Comptoir 21 is a renowned Montreal spot known for its delectable fish & chips, with three locations across the city. They have been serving their mouthwatering dishes for 8 years, featuring cod as the star ingredient and offering an array of homemade sauces. The cozy joint provides bar-style seating indoors and a charming patio outside. Customers praise the crispy and fresh seafood, along with the variety of flavorful sauces available.
Went on a Tuesday, wasn't too busy, food came quick. Great little place. Calamari was fresh but lacked in flavour, had it with the Thai sauce, yum, had the fish with fries and a burger. Burger was good. Fish was delicious and perfect! The curry sauce was amazing. I would definitely go back.
J M — Google review
Came here because I live just around the block and it came up as one of the suggestion from yelp(bad idea) *So..... the food here is.... let's just say disappointing. the calamari is hard and tasteless. (taste like frozen ones bought from supermarket and not well fried ) the fish is alright but the batter is overcooked even a little burnt. Fries are soggy but taste ok and the salad..... don't get me started on the salad. if you ever wanna try this place out. do not I repeat, do not get their fish with salad. it's super small and taste really bad!!! so overall, I would not recommend this place. Two stars because the waitress was really nice and friendly.

Decent burger late at night. A bit dry, but nothing too bad. Very good service and atmosphere
Guy — Google review
Dropped in for a LATE dinner (1030pm). Ordered a double-cheese-burger, poutine, and calamari. Burger was cooked just right—not overcooked. Fries were crispy. The calamari was a little soft—would’ve liked it crispier. The joint is narrow with bar style seating inside, but they also have a patio, which is where we sat. Our server (Jason) was lovely, and very knowledgeable about the area—gave us some local advice. Would definitely recommended Comptoir 21!
Gabe S — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised by both the quantity and quality of the food. Ordered the calamari appatizer, which is a great value, and a fish n' chips order. The fish was not too greasy, and the fries were also delicious.
Sirat A — Google review
We ordered the dégustation plate for two and it was delicious. There was one tempura shrimp, fried fish, calamari and many different sauces to try like paprika, curry, herbs and two or three other sauce. The food was crispy and fresh. The place is small you can sit at a counter inside or on the terrasse outside. The price is very reasonable. Highly recommend this place.
Sophie L — Google review
My recent visit to comptoire 21 on st catherine was very disappointing.....while the fish was good and perfectly cooked the batter was...well burnt! Not only did it look burnt,it tasted burnt. What a shame. Either the oil was too hot or too old .Maybe the cook was inexperienced. No excuse for this since the price is steep. I did not have fries because of prior negative experience. I shared my concern with the young lady who served me ....no comment. Could it hve been the batter mix, ?...I hope they do something about it because next time I will refuse the plate.
Camille M — Google review
Best Fish'n Chips and Clam Chowder east of McGill. Service always friendly. Although fairly busy, customers don't tend to linger, so be patient and a spot will open soon. They have a great people watching terrasse in the summer.

Ferreira Café is a downtown Montreal restaurant that offers a modern take on Portuguese cuisine in a Mediterranean-inspired setting. The establishment prides itself on serving authentic Portuguese dishes, with a focus on seafood. Critics and newcomers alike favor the roasted sardine filets, fish soup, raw oysters served Portuguese style, and fresh seafood casserole. The restaurant also boasts an extensive selection of wines and ports to complement the flavorful menu.
Red snapper fish is an expensive species, so don’t be surprised by the price tag. But, if you’re not a huge fan of fish, this simple preparation method highlighting the fish’s quality might not taste worth it for you. I personally thought it just tastes similar to other white flesh fish, so i was glad we had also ordered other more heavily flavoured dishes like Seafood Rice, and Mushroom Duck Risotto. A point i would like to praise is the general lack of bones. Beautifully done. The Seafood Platter is also expensive, but you’re paying to be able to have a bit of everything. The smoked fish is really salty, but is good with sourdough bread. Lobster is great. Crispy octopus is a must-try in my opinion. The exterior is slightly crispy while keeping a soft interior. Amazing. Risotto has a very strong mushroom flavour, the duck falls off the bone. The dish is a bit heavy if you don’t have any sides, but it’s perfect to share. The presentation looks awkward with the dish being so deep compared to the amount of food in it. We didn’t order any drinks. Our waiter made a few mistakes and was difficult to get a hold of, but we were a table of 6 and it was late, so it’s understandable. The restaurant is very loud when it’s full. The small tables are pretty close to each other. The kitchen on the elevation has a transparent separator, letting you see. I suggest reserving even for week days, especially with the weather getting better. Overall great experience with the variety of dishes we ordered.

The food and atmosphere of this place is amazing!! I wanted to try everything on the menu so will be going back. However what we decided to order was good but not excellent. The crab cake was mainly béchamel and onion. Good but not what we expected. Most things were slightly overcooked. For the price we expected perfection! The citrus earl grey sorbet crunch has such potential but has so much liquid it made the ‘crunch’ soggy. Ask to sit in the back if you’re interested in haut cuisine— you have full access to see the kitchen! Very cool. I think we came on an off night because the menu, service and atmosphere speak for themselves! One to come back to to try again 🤞🏻

Ferreira Café is an exceptional dining experience that beautifully blends elegance with warmth. From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional without ever feeling intrusive. The staff made sure every detail was perfect, enhancing the overall experience. I ordered the ceviche and the octopus, and both dishes were prepared to absolute perfection. The ceviche was fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor, while the octopus was tender, expertly grilled, and beautifully presented. Each bite reflected the chef’s skill and dedication to quality ingredients. The atmosphere of the restaurant added to the experience—sophisticated yet comfortable, ideal for both casual and special occasions. Ferreira Café truly delivers on every level, from service to cuisine. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable meal in a refined yet welcoming setting.

I wish I could give this place 6 stars! We went at 9 PM and had the prix fixe menu. The food was perfect and the service was outstanding. With the promotion after 9 PM, we got way more than what we paid for. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked. We tried both of Mr. Carlos Ferreira’s wines, and they were excellent. We even ended up buying his olive oil to take home. Thank you to this restaurant for exceeding my expectations!

I highly recommend this restaurant for authentic and delicious Portuguese cuisine. Exceptionally very fresh seafood. Very attentive and welcoming staff despite the fact that it was busy. I would say you can’t get wrong with anything in the menu, but I would highly recommend so sardine appetizer!

We were looking for a late dinner in downtown Montreal and our hotel concierge snagged us reservations here. The food, service, and atmosphere at Ferreira Café is top-notch. The highly capable staff will not guide you astray. Every one of their recommendations were delicious!

Very nice restaurant for the group dinner I had. They blocked off the entire 2nd floor for the private function with an open bar. The tuna tartare appetizer was very tasty. The steak was just alright as it could have been more flavorful. The chocolate mousse a bit too thick. The setting was very nice with great service from the servers.

We went for L’après 9 promotion and were absolutely satisfied with the food. Big portion & very tasty. Their signature bouillabaisse is a must-try. The duck confit risotto was also great.

Estiatorio Milos Montreal is a stylish Greek taverna known for its fresh seafood and popular fixed-price lunch in a whitewashed setting. The restaurant offers an elegant ambiance, personable service, and sizable portions. It is renowned for its ultra-fresh fish and seafood caught just hours earlier, making it one of the best fine dining establishments in Montreal. The food quality is authentic, with ingredients like olive oil sourced from Milos' own private label and vegetables locally sourced.
Service was excellent. Francoise is a professional who’s very good and passionate about servicing people and leaving a great impression. Food was tasty, though pretty pricy. Atmosphere was a bit disappointing but only because apart for the food and picture frames on the wall, nothing felt Greek. They did have a beautiful display of the fresh food, so you can introduce yourself to your meal before it gets cooked 😝

Haven’t been here for 20 years and was curious to return. The decor is pretty much the same. We went for lunch wish was a much smaller menu. $49 I had a small appetizer of grilled octopus on a bed of green pea hummus. Then shared 2 meals. One was grilled veggies with a tiny piece of cheese. The other was grilled fish with capers. They were both good together. I had the baklava Ice cream which was very good. The person I was with had the walnut cake which was not my favourite. We finished with a nice cup of Greek tea.

Service was very slow here. We would have also valued that our server at least gave us a heads up that we didn't need a 4lb fish, that we could've been okey with a smaller fish, but she insisted in the bigger one. Food was very good, though. 3/5

The food was honestly beyond words. Each dish felt so fresh, from the ingredients to the presentation. The flavors were clean yet rich, comforting yet refined — it’s the kind of meal that lingers in your memory. The service was fine, but the food really spoke for itself. I left feeling happy and completely satisfied.

Food was alright, it lacked seasoning, service was absolutely terrible, not sure who our server was but this was on Tuesday during lunch hours. I used to love this place but the service has gone downhill. Won’t be going back.

Amazing food and great service! 😋 The only small downside is the big cement beams in the middle of the restaurant , they give an industrial vibe that was trendy a few years ago, but now it just feels a bit harsh and out of place. Painting them white or something softer would totally brighten up the space. Still love the place overall! 💕

Excellent food and excellent service. It would be great to have a bit more variety on the menu.

Incredible service from Kaya and Ahmed. They were attentive to our needs the entire time and kept everything clean and comfortable. We ordered the classic tomato salad and the white fish, both were fresh, flavourful, and consistently delicious as always. The food came out quickly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I’m Greek, go to Greece often and Milos is my favourite restaurant. Kaya is my favorite waitress as well

Brit & Chips is a cozy British eatery located in Old Montreal, offering a variety of deep-fried fish and pub favorites. The restaurant, created by the team behind popular spots like Burgundy Lion and Bishop & Bagg, serves up classic fried fish and fries as well as unique options like Scotch eggs, popcorn shrimp, and battered cod cakes. Vegetarian-friendly choices include smoked tofu paired with french fries.
Amazing fish & chips!! Also, an amazing place to come for poutine, one of the best in the city!! They have a lovely outdoor seating area. I would definitely visit again!! The service is very quick and there isn’t much wait for food. They also have a number of beer options and cocktails as well. I love how they had a bowl of water outside of their restaurant for dogs, very British! This place is worth a visit! :)

Listen, I've been here a few times and I've mostly enjoyed myself here, be it inside their cool looking restaurant or outside on their sunny patio. The food is good, the service is top notch and it's hard to beat their atmosphere. For this I'm giving it a 5 star review. HOWEVER if Google.ca would allow me I'd give it closer to 4.2, and that's because of how expensive this place is. I mean, this ain't gourmet food, it's proletariat food. I paid 13$ for their cod cakes, which compromises of only 5 small fish balls. First if all it's an appetiser to 5 is awfully awkward to share, 6 should be the standard number. And 13$ is just way too much. Tasty balls? Sure. Affordable balls? Nope! Anyways... Alaric recommends 👐 🐟 (just make sure to ask your employer for a raise 😉)

One of my bucket list restaurants during my Montreal visit. It’s pretty close to downtown, old school seating inside and during summers, they had nice outdoor seating. Tried the classic fish and chips, tried the cod, and ordered some tandoori fried shrimp since the Indian in me wanted to try out the Indian style shrimp in Montreal. Both dishes were truly well cooked and delicious, service was apt and quite timely. The bud light went well with the fried dishes and kept me cool during the sultry day. Overall, a nice experience.

We stopped by this fish and chip shop in Montreal because they offer gluten free battered fish, and it was such a great find. The portions were huge, two big pieces of fish, and you’d never be able to tell the gluten free one from the regular. The fries were homemade and perfectly done, and both the tartare sauce and curry sauce were spot on. It does get super busy for dinner, so we went right when they opened for lunch, which worked out perfectly. Classic fish and chips done right, with the bonus of being gluten free friendly without sacrificing taste.

Ordered trio of “morue style poulet chaud sandwich” (special of the month). Fish was tasty but there was only one small piece — really disappointing for the price $$ The sandwich was mostly two huge slices of thick bread with sauce and green peas. Fries were delicious and salad was good.

Food and appetizer were so juicy and tasty. The place is cozy and cute but it is a bit noisy when it is getting crowded. Overall we loved it and will go there again for sure ☺️

I’ve tried fish and chips in London and this place truly matched the deliciousness of what I’ve eaten in the UK. They even import sodas from there (irn bru and Ben Shaw)! Plus the view is really good and the location isn’t swarming with people. After eating peacefully, you can enter the Old Montreal area where’s there’s a lot more people. Absolutely recommend! PS: get the dandelion soda, was really good.
Kumiko V — Google review
Montreal is not the city to come to for exceptional fish and chips, however, if you happen to find yourself craving it while you're in the city then this is a fine place to tide you over. Though if you're used to great fish n' chips, you'll have to keep looking. Great decor tho! The tarter sauce was a bit stodgy, the vinegar lacked punch, and the fries were on the mushier side. The fish was cooked fairly well though and the batter they used was inoffensive. It'll be a perfectly palatable meal to most. I will say our service was quite poor, we had to refill our own glasses with water we brought from a hike on numerous times, the server didn't come by even once. We even had to go to the front and ask for the bill at the end and that was the first we saw the staff after they gave us our food.

French restaurant
Chez Delmo is a historic venue in Old Montreal that has been revived with a contemporary touch. The restaurant, which originally opened in 1934, offers an elegant space to enjoy traditional fish and seafood specialties such as Dover sole, lobster Thermidor, and lobster bisque. The menu also features novelties like lobster rolls and salmon tartare.
It's rare to find a restaurant that truly delivers on every front—ambience, service, and most importantly, food—but this place absolutely nailed it. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt inviting, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. We started with a selection of appetizers that impressed across the board. The grilled octopus had a wonderful smoky flavor, perfectly complemented by well-seasoned greens. The calamari was delightfully crispy and light, not greasy. We had the following soups: the tomato soup was rich and creamy with a beautifully balanced flavor, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster chunks, and the clam chowder was indulgently creamy and brimming with fresh clam meat. For our main courses, we tried the walleye, scallops, the Creole crab and lobster ravioli. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. The ravioli was stuffed generously with real lobster meat and none of the usual tasteless filler (cheese). Every plate was a hit with our group. Service was top-notch, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, William. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made our night better. If you’re heading here, definitely ask for William’s table—he’s exactly the kind of server you hope for when dining out. This restaurant has earned a spot at the top of my list, and I’ll definitely be back when I'm in Montreal again.

I had the pleasure of dining at Chez Delmo this evening and it was delightful in every way possible. I dined at the bar and had the pleasure to meet the owners, who are a joy to converse with, as was the incredible staff. The lobster bisque and the staff recommended walleye were divine. You can truly taste the love that goes into these dishes. It is places like this that remind us how special a dining experience can be. Thank you Benoit, and everyone I had the pleasure to meet!!

Some dishes at Chez Damlo truly shine, offering delightful surprises that keep you eager for your next visit. The service is impeccable, making you feel welcomed, and the ambience creates a relaxing vibe that enhances your dining experience. The star of the menu was the octopus entrée - succulently tender and bursting with flavour, it was a highlight. On the other hand, the lobster bisque fell flat, being light on lobster and lacking the rich flavour one would hope for. For mains, the local giant scallops stood out with their impressive size and delightful taste, showcasing the young chef’s skill. Conversely, the lobster club sandwich was disappointing; it was light on lobster and overwhelmed by bacon, overshadowing the seafood. Based on my experience, I recommend exploring other, non-lobster seafood options here. Overall, you can enjoy a fantastic meal at Chez Damlo.

We try and have ourselves a giant seafood platter dinner once in a while. As we're planning on moving to Montreal in the future, we thought we'd start with Chez Delmo. They humorously sat us at a two-top. We tried to warn them. We ordered. We were promptly reseated 😆 Everything looked, smelled, and tasted fantastic. From the gigantic shrimp to the extra oysters. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. You've set the bar pretty high.

This is a late review, so I don’t remember all the details of the dishes. What I do recall is that the food wasn’t particularly impressive, especially considering the price. Service was okay, accommodating enough since we were a big group, but overall the experience didn’t feel worth the cost.

I wish I could post the video of the Dover Sole “Meunière” - it is the best fish dish in the city and I’ll take my chances and say across the country. It’s worth the price because you can’t really make this exquisite dish at home. You have it Chez Delmo where it’s always like visiting your favorite relative. Everything is excellent on the menu. My friend wanted to try the Chowder so I went along with it… oh man was it ever good. Everything here you may have had somewhere else but they deliver a dish always a notch above. The Octopus had a discreet citrus nuance to it - so so good. The service is on par with any Michelin Star restaurants across the ocean EVERYTIME (without the attitude); it’s not loud, and you are not rushed. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal.
GianCarlo G — Google review
Great seafood restaurant! A bit pricey but top quality, fresh ingredients and generous portions. The greeting is fast and professional, the service is efficient and very friendly. Arguably the best seafood restaurant in Montreal, certainly the oldest, just a 3 minute walk from the Notre Dame basilica in the Old Port. As you come in you are greeted by one of the owners through the bar section, where you can see the original stools and lamps from the 1930s. You get the feel of a classic neighbourhood joint, full of regulars, very busy. The cocktails are very generous (6 oz martinis). They have an outstanding seafood tower, very festive . The seafood pasta is outstanding. The Dover sole Meuniere is the house specialty, and it's the best i've had anywhere. Also we tried lobster ravioli, which was a highlight. The staff is young, super friendly and professional, and the owners are charming. Strongly recommend, overall a great value. They offer valet parking for $15

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chez Delmo during a visit to town for a conference, and I can't recommend it enough. A large group of us walked in unannounced, and yet, they were able to accommodate us immediately, which speaks volumes about their hospitality. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and classy, offering a setting that is both elegant and welcoming. Owner Benoit was an absolute delight—his warmth and charisma added a personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. Our server, David, was equally impressive. He was not only attentive and professional, but also incredibly informative, ensuring we felt taken care of throughout the meal. Each dish was absolutely exquisite and the entire experience, from the ambiance to the food to the service, was nothing short of unforgettable. If you're ever in town, make sure to visit Chez Delmo, it's an absolute gem.

Le Filet is a trendy neighborhood bistro known for its glamorous decor and innovative seafood-focused cuisine. The bustling hot spot attracts a stylish crowd and local celebrities to its lively bar and modern dining area. Diners can savor expertly prepared dishes like grilled octopus with Meyer lemon coulis, raw scallops with avocado, and classic Quebecois plates featuring foie gras, duck, pork, and venison.
Exceptional food, exceptional service and hospitality and great ambience. Small and intimate setting, you can see the kitchen, and cocktail bar. It’s lively and a little chaotic in a good way. Every dish we ordered was exceptional, but the buckwheat crab, the oysters, sesame tuna, and the tuna tartar stood out the most.

Le Filet is hands down one of the best dining experiences in Montreal. The service was attentive and thoughtful from start to finish, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and inviting. If you’re a seafood lover, this place is a must. Every dish we tried was incredibly well-executed — light, delicate, and bursting with flavor. You can really taste the care and creativity in each bite. Pro tip: come hungry, aim for the fish, and definitely leave room for dessert. Trust me — it’s worth it. Highly recommended for a special night out or anyone looking to truly savor the best of what Montreal’s culinary scene has to offer.

I booked the table last night to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. Tbh, i did not expect much because we are from Asia and I’ve been to many fine dining in Montreal and the service & food we received is not as good as we get back home. However, last night, Le fillet gave us a beyond Montreal standard. They really put their effort into their work. The food is good, i would definitely go back again to try more dish but the service there oh my, its amazing. Comparing to the price and vibe, its valuable for your money. I really recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good dining place to celebrate special occasion or just having a good time. I give 10 stars to my server last night as well. Thank you!!

Wow, this place hits it out of the park! Even the price is reasonable. One of the most enjoyable dining and drinking experiences of my life. I and a friend both had the beet and raw fish salad, I believe it was jack fish? My friend THOUGHT she hated beets, not anymore! I also had the Negroni made with rye. Excellent! We lucked out and arrived when they weren’t busy.

Le Steakhouse Rib N Reef is a culinary gem that has been delighting diners since 1960. This upscale restaurant specializes in charbroiled meats and seafood, making it a go-to destination for those seeking an exceptional dining experience. Nestled at the intersection of Decarie Blvd. and Highway 40, it has become a beloved landmark in Montreal's vibrant food scene.
I had the pleasure of dining at Rib N Reef, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of that classic, upscale steakhouse charm. The service was impeccable and the staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail was perfect without being intrusive. While Rib N Reef is known for its steaks, I have to say I had the greatest Alfredo pasta I’ve ever tasted. It was rich, creamy, and packed with flavour, every bite was heavenly. It’s not often you find a steakhouse that nails pasta like that, but they absolutely did! If you’re looking for an elevated dining experience, whether it’s a special occasion or just a night out to indulge, Rib N Reef is the place to be. I can’t wait to go back and experience it all over again! Thank you!! 🖤✨

Mandatory-valet, so if you do not like that, don't go. Yet I'd recommend 😁 Date night. My first time over on the east coast and my bf had to take me to this steakhouse. And they did not disappoint. I ordered filet mignonette, with lobster tail, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and asparagus for our sides. I usually order medium rare, but ordered medium and it was melt in my mouth perfection! The bread they bring for the table, came with two big pickles (I love pickles) and fresh coleslaw. We also ordered fresh oysters and escargot! Everything about this place was amazing! I'd obviously go back when I'm here again and for sure recommend!!

The place is beautiful, and they make great use of their space. It feels like stepping back in time, when dining was an acitivity reserved for the affluent. I suspect that the steak was not dried and salted prior to cooking, so don't expect any crust and ensure to season at the table. The lunch special is worth it. Spent $100 and got 5 decent plates (3 oysters, salad, baked potato, cake, coffee). The atmosphere made up for the lack of depth in the food, and the service was impeccable. I'll be back, perhaps to try their cigar lounge.
Casey S — Google review
Great food, I liked the seasoning on the tartare, delicious cesar salad and desserts. If you want a good restaurant and nice decor and ambiance and great food, this is the place for you. They deserve a 10/10. However, I do believe the prices are too high for what they offer, there are other good steakhouses with similar options and taste. But keep in mind it is high-end (valet, coat check, personalized experience, etc.) so I understand why some people would pay these prices.

Due to Google’s character limit for reviews, I am sharing my full feedback in two parts. This is Part 1, and it contains the detailed description of a disappointing experience during my most recent visit to Rib’n Reef on Saturday, May 10th. I would like to share some detailed feedback regarding my most recent visit to Rib’n Reef, which took place on Saturday, May 10th. This was my third time dining at your establishment. I want to begin by acknowledging that my first two visits were nothing short of extraordinary — the ambiance, the food, and most importantly, the service, were all absolutely impeccable. Those experiences are what made Rib’n Reef one of my favorite and most highly recommended spots in Montreal. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was profoundly disappointing, and the service we received severely affected the evening — one that I had hoped would be special and memorable, as it was a date with someone I genuinely wanted to impress. At first, everything seemed fine. We were greeted by a staff member (who did not introduce himself), handed menus, and informed that someone would be with us shortly. That “someone” turned out to be our server for the evening, and this is where the experience began to unravel. Without a word, he walked up to our table and simply stood there in silence for 10–15 seconds. No greeting, no introduction — not even eye contact. Eventually, I broke the silence and placed our order. The lack of even the most basic courtesy made us feel unwelcome, like we were a burden rather than valued guests in a fine dining establishment. After ordering, I asked for assistance choosing a wine. I had reviewed the wine list in advance and was simply looking for a professional recommendation. Instead of offering any help or even acknowledging the request, our server dropped the wine list in front of me and walked away. Thankfully, another gentleman eventually came to help with the selection, but again — no explanation or indication from our server that someone else would be assisting us. It felt disorganized and dismissive. Things continued to go downhill. We had ordered two appetizers and had made it clear we wanted to enjoy them together. Instead, only one was brought out. After a lengthy wait, we asked about the second dish and were told, “Here, appetizers are served one after another. You should have said you wanted them together.” This statement came across not only as unprofessional but also accusatory — as if it was our fault for not knowing your internal serving procedures. To make matters worse, throughout the evening we had to specifically request that the next course be brought out. Not once did our server check in to ask whether we had finished our previous dish. We often sat for 15–20 minutes after finishing a plate, clearly ready for the next, signaling with our body language and empty plates, yet received no attention. This kind of inattentiveness is unacceptable for a restaurant of your caliber. As the evening wore on, it became clear that this was not just a momentary lapse but a consistent attitude. We asked the server his name and expressed our concerns about the service. He told us his name was Kostas (Konstantinos), and rather than acknowledging the issue, he began justifying his behavior: “You see how many tables I have? I’m very busy, but I’m always here when you need me.” That simply wasn’t true — there were multiple moments when we were trying to get his attention and he was nowhere to be found. When asked why he hadn’t greeted us, he claimed that he had asked another colleague to greet us on his behalf and that this colleague had assured him he did — an excuse that is not only unconvincing but borderline absurd. The end of the 1st part.

We decided to check out this upscale steak house in Montreal, the Rib n Reef. All I can say about this place was that if you want the best service and atmosphere and the food is not the highest priority, prepare to open up your wallet and check this place out. The food was not to match the pricetag but maybe going here is not just about the food, but the experience. Hat's off the the wait staff that serve here, they are the finest.

Rib n reef a Montreal staple. The food is definitely good I wouldn't say its wow but the steaks are always cooked to perfection. Their rockefeller oysters are worth the trip alone they taste absolutely amazing. The salmon tartar was just ok. The service is always on point and the venue is very nice. The prices are pretty steep.

An absolutely outstanding evening — everything from start to finish was first-class. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor, while the Monte Carlo was rich, indulgent, and flawlessly prepared. Service was impeccable — attentive yet discreet — and the ambiance exudes that timeless, elegant steakhouse charm. Every detail, from the warm lighting to the classic presentation, made for a truly memorable and refined dining experience. Rib ‘N Reef remains one of Montreal’s finest — sophisticated, consistent, and effortlessly classy. JOSH was an excellent waiter. Kind and efficient!

Great place and ambiance! They even offered valet parking as parking was scarce. The beet salad was an excellent starter. Loved the mix of sweet and sour and savory from the beets, balsamic and the candied nuts. We shared the Tomahawk steak. Which was excellent, though I have had better for the price. The sides were tasty as well. We ordered this steak with a seafood pasta. Great dish, added acid to the meal and was loaded with seafood including a crab claw and half a lobster tail. All in all, great food and ambience. Service could be better. It seemed they were new at the job but what they lacked wasnt enough to ruin the meal.

DaVinci Restaurant is by far one of my favorites! The waiters make you feel like a princess—they even bring you food before you’ve finished ordering. The espresso martini and king crab legs are absolutely the best. Honestly, whatever you feel like eating, they’ll make it happen. Lavi makes you feel right at home, and the whole place has such a welcoming yet fancy vibe. It’s also a great spot for a romantic date, and they have private rooms available for group dinners. We had an early dinner.before a show. Our server, Carlo, was fantastic. We had a few pieces of lamb and the salmon crudo to start. The salmon was great. The lamb was probably the tastiest, tender lamb I've ever had. We ended up deciding to share the tomahawk. It came out perfectly rare and served with a selection of potatoes and peppercorn sauce. The steak melted in my mouth. The peppercorn sauce was fantastic. We finished off with a trio of cannolis. A first for me, but definitely not the last. Everything recommended by Carlo was delicious. Our drinks never ran dry. Thank you for an excellent dinner.

The menu includes dishes like scallops with foie gras, pomegranate-braised lamb, and eggplant caviar, which you've never experienced before. During summer months, the restaurant has a popular patio seating option that overlooks the bustling streets of the old city.
We loved this place! We went around noon and restaurant was empty. The service was good and fast. We tried a bit of everything and everything was so good. The grilled octopus was the best dish from presentation to taste. We also loved three sauces (cheese), potatoes, mashed potatoes and fried zucchini. The fish was very well prepared and light. As a seafood lover I enjoyed dining here. It reminds me of Europe, of sea and summer. I wish it wasn't that expensive but highly recommended for seafood. We will go back!

Had a great evening here to celebrate a project completion. Staff were friendly and provided us the attention despite the larger group. After a bit of a wait, the food came. The squid, calamari and lobster were a hit! I also enjoyed the appetizers with the delicious dips. I thought the fish, believe it was sea bass, was ok and a bit on the overcooked side. But overall good experience.

Wonderful seafood options, guaranteed delicious meal. Went with their tasting experience which was 3 shared courses between two of us, plus a shared dessert. All meal items were delicious, with the dessert slightly underwhelming in comparison to the rest. It's an expensive restaurant, the tasting experience being 96 dollars a head, and one might question the cost when evaluating the simplicity of what's on the table in front of them. An entire sea bass and a pound of octopus and squid probably adds up. Either way expect to spend around $70-$100 for an average a la carte order. That being said, portion sizes are good and flavours are wonderful. I left overly full and satisfied. I do recommend the tasting experience if you can fork out 96 dollars. To note: the fish plate did not come presented like that, it was an entire sea bass on a shared platter which was portioned out onto our plates by our server. Best fish I've had all year easily. On the side was charred/grilled leeks, which were very good also.

Not the first time at Ikanos, and the experience is still great. Service staff is excellent, and ambiance is very nice. Also not too uptight and nicely casual. The star here for me is the seafood platter. That plus a side and a starter is probably the best value. There is a 22oz steak to share that I haven't tried yet which could be great, but I feel like having steak at Ikanos is betraying the main reason to go there. A surf n turf is probably a really good idea though! The fish is also good. $71 for Seabass can be a bit off putting, but if it's indeed a fresh import, cooked in the wood oven, served full at the table deboned, I can see how you get to that price. Oyster black garlic mushrooms were good, but you can skip it. It's nice in moderation but don't need that big of a plate of it. It would be much nicer to have 2 smaller sides than a big side of that. Else, the Greek salad looked nice. Ikanos does (or did pre-covid) have very nice value for lunch though, so you could try that too. That is all! Congrats on reopening successfully!

Hands down the best service I've ever received in Montreal. Warm moist towelettes given between each service, every dish meticulously explain, I can't even begin to describe the taste, you'll have to try it for yourselves, every bite brought me to a different place, an absolute sensory overload. They have an inexpensive lunch menu and a mesmerizing tasting menu. If I died and went to heaven, this is what the dining experience would feel like it. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star. This is where I send friends and family when the ask for a dining recommendation.

Beautiful decor, great service. Presentation of each plate was appetizing. The waiter took the time to explain each course. Slightly pricey however worth the experience. Initially seemed small in terms of portions but appetite was satisfied rather rapidly. Overall ambiance was warm and welcoming and food was delicious. Definitely recommend!

Wow what an amazing restaurant! We had a delicious 7 course meal that was part of the festival in February (I can't remember the name!) Staff was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the sources of the food! Restaurant gets busy an hour after opening too so get there early!! Food is SO FRESH!! Was such a treat being here!! Lots of seating and the interior is very modern and formal.

I haven't had such an amazing dinning experience in a long time. We were 4 people and ordered the 96$ sharing plate for two of us & the MTL à table menu for the other two. EVERYTHING was delicious, well seasoned & perfectly portions. I cannot stress enough on how good the food was. Everything from the hummus, the bread, to the fish, pasta and seafood was perfect. Our waiter was also extremely polite and nice. The service was amazing. He was very knowledgeable of the menu which is always appreciated. I loved the atmosphere which is very peaceful and intimate (perfect for dates). The bill was about 170$ per person. With drinks. Every penny was worth it. Can't wait to go back.

Montreal Plaza is a charming and lively restaurant located on the revamped Saint-Hubert Plaza. It offers a chic yet homey atmosphere and serves elevated French bistro fare made from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. The menu features unpretentious and inspiring dishes such as chicken liver mousse, foie gras, and Chinatown razor clams. Whether for a lively date or group celebration, this energetic restaurant is perfect with its ever-changing menu that keeps patrons coming back for more.
My husband and I dined at Montreal Plaza on Tuesday evening, and i were pleasantly surpised by how lively and busy it was for a weeknight. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, stylish, and inviting—modern with a quirky charm that instantly sets the tone for a fun, memorable evening. The service was top-notch from beginning to end. Every server we interacted with was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive. It was so refreshing to see every staff member smiling and eager to help. We shared several dishes and every single one was beautifully executed and plated like a work of art. The Fish tartare with squash was delicate and flavorful. The mackerel plancha was cooked perfectly. The standout for me was the Pacman scallop—a creative ceviche-style dish bursting with brightness from grapefruit and clementines. Absolutely divine! The monkfish and octopus yakitori was another winner, served with a light salad that paired beautifully. I’m normally not a fan of foie gras, but their foie gras with truffle literally melted in my mouth—it was that good. For our main, we shared the fluke with beurre blanc. I have a dairy sensitivity, and the chef prepared the dish completely dairy-free—and it was still rich, delicate, and full of flavor. The fact that one of the servers went through the entire menu and marked which items were dairy-free made me feel so taken care of. That kind of attention to detail really makes a difference. Huge kudos to the chef and the entire kitchen team for executing a flawless meal. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, and the flavors were balanced and memorable. Dining here was such a pleasure from start to finish, and I’m already looking forward to going back. Five stars, hands down. Highly recommend!

The service here is exceptional—staff are detail-oriented, attentive, and truly knowledgeable. The food is a standout, offering unique and inventive flavor combinations that are as delicious as they are creative. But what really won me over was the decor! Whimsical, quirky, and full of personality, it adds so much charm to the dining experience. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Spent a few days in Montreal and this was the best restaurant during our stay. We ordered the beef dish which was tender and flavourful. My partner's favourite was the bourguignon which was also delicious. The environment was also very cozy and welcoming. We stayed downtown but glad we made the trip up to this restaurant.

I recently visited Montreal Plaza, a well-known spot in the city that often gets a lot of buzz. While the ambiance was quirky and the service attentive, the overall dining experience didn’t quite live up to the expectations. The menu was creative, but some dishes felt more style than substance. Flavors were decent and memorable, but portion sizes were on the smaller side for the price. It’s a nice place if you’re curious to try something trendy or enjoy the vibe, but personally, I found it a bit overrated. There are definitely other spots in Montreal that offer a more satisfying experience at a better value.
Abdulrahman A — Google review
Food was good but not wow. Strawberries felt overpowering the foie gras. Almost impossible to apply the foie gras on the provided bread because the bread was too soft / foie gras was too solid. Tartare was special with the mix of popcorn , for me it worked fine but nothing wow. The freshness of the tuna helped making the dish better. Took the braised beef as finale. There was again some strawberries... would have traded those strawberries for some more veggies. Service was good on the plating / cleaning but we definitely felt a bit snobbed or cold on the greeting and good bye side. Waiter definitely didn’t like that we didn’t order a lot of foods. I have worked in the restauration for many years so I know what’s an excellent service.

We celebrated a memorable birthday here. The atmosphere was absolutely splendid! The service was very friendly. The corn mousse was delicious, and we really enjoyed the desserts.

Montréal Plaza delivers bold creativity with a touch of theatricality (yes, even a T-Rex guarding the oysters). I started with the walleye plancha, which was spectacular, bright, savory, and perfectly balanced with the guanciale and capers. My friend had the zucchini flower stuffed with lobster, a delicate and flavorful choice. Unfortunately, the mains didn’t quite keep up the momentum. My braised beef with strawberries leaned more sauce than substance, with too little meat and too much sweetness, overwhelmed rather than impressed. My friend’s halibut au beurre blanc was well cooked but underwhelming in portion, and notably, she asked for bread after something she never does, which says a lot. Dessert was the redeeming finale: the forêt noire was rich, well-executed, and memorable. Service was attentive, though there was a noticeable delay with the mains. A floor manager acknowledged the wait with a complimentary glass of wine, which was appreciated. Overall, a creative, quirky spot with standout starters and dessert, but the mains need refinement to match the rest of the experience.

La Sirene de la Mer is a renowned seafood eatery and fish market that offers elevated Mediterranean cuisine in an upscale setting. With a focus on fish, seafood, and Middle Eastern delicacies, this fine dining establishment also features an adjoining fish and seafood shop to ensure the freshness and quality of their offerings. Guests can savor dishes like sumac shrimp prepared in various ways or indulge in seasonal lobster.
Incredible customer service! Every dish was exceptional! Next time we will order for the table and share....the labneh with mint and garlic will certainly get your attention! Scallops were not on the menu BUT were ordered from their fish market just adjacent. Need I say more? FYI: french fries, brown rice with pine nuts and onions, and wine leaves are a must

I was invited here for dinner and had a very pleasant experience. The restaurant offered great service, and the food was delicious with excellent flavors. Although it was quite busy, the quality of both the food and service remained impressive. I am not usually a big fan of seafood restaurants, but this one did not disappoint. The dessert menu was especially impressive and offered a wonderful finish to the meal. Prices are on the higher side, which reflects the restaurant’s positioning as a high end dining spot.

2025/09 La Sirène de la Mer is a Lebanese seafood restaurant. Located off the beaten path, it is worth a detour. The restaurant is bright, spacious and clean, it features floor to ceiling windows which brings in a natural light. Service is formal, with white table cloth and uniformed waiters. The menu showcases mainly seafood but not only, prepared in Lebanese, Eastern Mediterranean style, with fresh pita bread as an opener. We ordered fish and it was good. Portions were generous. In addition to the restaurant, which is on the left side of the building, the right side of La Sirène de la Mer hosts a fresh seafood store, with a good variety of fresh fish and seafood, including live lobster. The service, the food and the deserts, which were more distinctly Lebanese, Eastern Mediterranean in nature, were all delicious. The side order of truffle fries we added to our selection were also very tasty, perfectly done. This is a good spot for special occasions.

The food was delicious and savoury. The filet mignon was cooked absolutely perfectly. Great seafood dishes,as well. We were a party of about 16-20 people. Out waiter seemed to be in a rush to serve us and clear our plates. We asked to keep our fries, but clear main dish. He said ok. Came back two mins later and removed our fries while we were talking with someone (distracted). Nice place overall, though.

Came for lunch, not sure if this is a fancy restaurant or not since there was no one at the entrance to greet or direct. The waiter needs to step up his service, forgot about my drink for 30 mins. Other wise the food was good 7.5/10.

Restaurant oyster bar Montreal MAESTRO SVP is a charming, brick-lined eatery located on the Main. It offers a delightful selection of seafood and oysters, including scallops, clam chowder, shrimp, and more. The oyster menu is particularly impressive with options like raw, cooked, baked, in shooters and even for dessert. Additionally, they serve seafood classics such as oysters Rockefeller and lobster gratin. Visitors praise the amazing service and recommend trying the grilled octopus.
What an amazing spot for nice drinks, good conversations and great food. The seafood focused menu is just a delight to try out. The owner is very helpful with suggestions and very knowledgeable on the oyster variety as well. Cocktails are spot on! A great experience. Highly recommend visiting this spot!!!

An incredible selection of oysters, including some unique twists like oyster shots and dessert oysters, which were both a first for us! The seafood tapas menu encourages sharing, making it a perfect choice for a fun outing with friends. We were also impressed with their beautifully presented giant seafood platter. The atmosphere is lively and colorful, highlighted by the pink bar and charming decor. We particularly loved the wall adorned with celebrity autographs on oyster shells,

Still an incredible place! My wife and I visited 15 years ago and it was so good we looked the restaurant up when we decided to visit Canada and Montreal again. So much has changed in the world since 2010 so was really pleased to see Ilene was still running the show. And what a show it is! The food is still fabulous, as is Ilene, who is a superb host. Warm, funny and attentive. We ordered the Assiette Maestro and various dishes from the Table d'hôte, along with some baked oysters. All we're cooked to perfection and delicious. Only my wife had dessert, the trio of crème brulé, which she loved. Overall a fantastic experience and a real shame we don't live local as this is definitely a restaurant we'd visit more frequently. MCU love from the UK xxx. Oh, and we drove into the city. You can't park on the street outside but there are a number of parking lots 5 mins walk away, so easy if you're tourists like we were.

This is a rare place, one of those oyster bars that has more than one kind of oyster. In fact, they had about 15 if I counted correctly. Well maybe I exaggerate a bit, but there was a lot of different kinds of oysters from all over Atlantic Canada and some from the Pacific coast as well. Absolutely delicious. If you like oysters, this is the place to experiment and try them. And oh, I would highly highly recommend the maple syrup citrus octopus I have never had octopus that was so tender but so delicious. Crispy but soft and well the flavor so good

I liked this place and my review considers the price range. It's not the highest quality cooking but pretty good for the price. Mythos Ouzeri Restaurant is a lively and vibrant spot in Mile End, offering a fantastic selection of traditional Greek dishes alongside live music and dancing. The restaurant boasts a traditional yet chic decor, creating a bustling and sociable atmosphere for diners to enjoy. From classic Moussaka to indulgent fried feta cheese and loukoumades, the menu offers an array of authentic Greek delights.
Words can not express the warmth and charm of this authentic traditional Greek restaurant. There are so many levels of appreciation I derived from this experience. First: The abundant and energetic staff is amazingly attentive; always nearby, but never hovering, waiting to serve your every need at a moment's notice, immediately acknowledging even a mere glance or gesture. Then, there is the food. A plethora of traditional Greek staples, each of which are executed with precision and detail unmatched outside of Greece, IMHO. The fresh ingredients, preparation, taste, and presentation are exquisite. Then, there is the ambiance, reminiscent of an auberge or grotto, the spacious bar, and dining room areas are warm and inviting. To top it off, there is live traditional Greek music engaging the guests, all of which combine to complete a very rare and uniquely satisfying dining experience. Highly recommend! BTW Waiter Kosta, together with the rest of the staff, is exceptional indeed! Don't forget to make a reservation, especially on weekends.
Manny A — Google review
The food was genuinely excellent, fresh, well-prepared, and served in generous portions. The ambiance started off fine but took a nosedive when the live band arrived. The music sounded like budget karaoke and put half the room to sleep. The host/server was awkward, impatient, and far from welcoming. Despite ordering a large amount of food, after about an hour he started hovering around the table, clearly trying to push us out. With 85% of the restaurant empty, the rush made no sense and left our group feeling uncomfortable. Prices are very high. Be aware. Bathrooms are mediocre at best.

What an amazing experience! Amazing authentic Greek Cuisine (you don’t go there to eat pita souvlaki) the food was amazing and very well cooked & seasoned. The music and ambiance was amazing and actually seeing customers dance traditional Greek style and having the band singing was worth it alone. We sat next to stage and no issue with the volume. Our waiter was spot one and the best great service. My mouth is watering just writing this review :) if you a local or visiting Montreal you have to try place it’s a must! you really need to try this place. Pricing is right especially for the quality your getting, can’t wait to go again and to bring guest so they can share our experience. Btw I wish I paid attention when I got there but they have Valet Service no need to hunt for parking.
Harry B — Google review
My real rating is between 3 & 4 We ordered the trio dips which were good. They don’t have pita and instead serve very bad bread. We did not finish the dips for that reason. My medium lamb chops were over cooked and no pick. They were still tender and had good flavor. The lemon potatoes had too much lemon but were well cooked. The service was very good and the waiter added to our fun. The restaurant is very nice inside but over air conditioned.
S B — Google review
The amount of food was perfect. Delicious and well cooked. Soft ambiance, was able to have full conversations without any yelling or asking to repeat. The service was outstanding. Just to quick clarify we took the group meal for 4 while 2 others took simple meals. And even at that there was plenty, though it aint cheap. As a beer guy the choices weren't that many and a tad pricey for quality. Personally well worth it, though its a big bill.

Sushi restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Jun I is a renowned restaurant located in the heart of Montreal, Canada. It has been recognized as one of the top 100 restaurants in the country and offers a unique blend of Japanese and French cuisine. The menu features sophisticated sushi, sashimi, and French-influenced main dishes paired with fine sakes.
Loved my experience here! Some of the sashimis we tried were amazing, and the nigiris were just as good. Everything was super delicious overall.
Niloufar K — Google review
The food was excellent—no complaints there. However, the service left a lot to be desired. We waited over an hour for our meals and ended up spending nearly four hours at the restaurant. For a group of six, the timing was off—some of us received our food while others were still waiting. It definitely affected the overall experience. That said, the restaurant had a great vibe, and the food was truly worth the wait.
Nithu — Google review
We tried this restaurant with high expectations—and a bill to match (over $100 per person). We ordered the Sushi Moriawase, which came beautifully presented and included some nicely prepared nigiri and a standout hand roll—light, fresh, and well-balanced in flavor. Definitely one of the highlights. However, the portion was quite small, and even after adding some à la carte sushi (like a crab one that sadly missed the mark), we left still feeling hungry and ended up grabbing more food afterward. For the price, we expected not only high quality (which was just decent) but also a more satisfying experience overall. If you order the Omakase along with à la carte sushi, I think you might leave satisfied. The service and ambiance were okay.
Claire D — Google review
Jun I offers a large variety of amazing and delicious sushi. I recommand ordering from the Tobuketsumaki section of the menu as it represents their specialty. The salle à manger section is calm and quiet making it the perfect ambiance for a date night. The alcohol menu offers a wide selection of wine, saké, beers ans cocktails.
David L — Google review
We ordered the omakase at $120 per person and left very underwhelmed. Three out of four appetizers were small shared plates that just didn’t impress. One of them, the octopus, amounted to just three very thin slices total each. We were told the omakase included 15 pieces of sushi each, but what arrived was a shared platter with two of each piece and one roll of five, which doesn’t even divide evenly for two people. For the price, the portions and overall taste were disappointing. Dessert was a single, tiny tart. I can’t speak to the rest of the menu, but I would’ve maybe preferred to stick to the à la carte menu. We spent $400 for omakase for 2, one of the cheapest bottle of wine and tip.
Erika H — Google review
Went to Jun I with high expectations. Overall, it was a good experience, though not outstanding considering the premium pricing. The sushi quality is excellent, with fresh, tasty, and fatty cuts of fish—definitely among the better sushi spots in Montreal. My personal highlight was the curry sushi, which stood out as particularly delicious. However, service was friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. Our group of six ended up staying for almost three hours, partly due to long wait times between courses. Some dishes arrived unevenly, leaving some of us without food for extended periods. Desserts were enjoyable, but nothing exceptional. One notable issue was the soy sauce, which our entire group found overly salty and concentrated. It detracted somewhat from the sushi’s delicate flavors. Despite these points, Jun I is still a solid choice for a high-end sushi dinner with friends, just adjust your expectations accordingly.
Guillaume G — Google review
Although a bit expensive, the portions and the quality of the food makes up for the price. Their omakase comes with 3 appetisers, 15 pieces of sushi and a dessert for around 120$. The pieces of sushi were quite big and the cut of fishes were quite generous. I especially liked their Funny Maki because there was a great contrast in the temperature which made it so unique and delicious. I was surprised because I usually don't like fried sushi that much. As for the appetisers, I feel like the first two dishes were a bit too sour which overwhelmed the flavours of the ingredients but their octopus appetiser had a great balance of sweetness and saltiness which made it so wonderful. The quality of the ingredients is amazing, each slice was really fresh and I especially enjoyed the fresh scallop sushi which had a great seafood sweetness to it. The service was superb. The waiters and waitresses were all extremely patient and professional, taking the time to explain each dish while they were serving it to the table. Even though the place was quite fancy with the minimalistic interior decors, I feel like the semi casual atmosphere fits the place extremely well and it was pretty easy to talk at our table until later at night when the restaurant was more crowded, I felt like we had to shout a bit to be heard.

Lucille's Oyster Dive is a popular seafood spot in Montreal that has recently expanded to a new location in Carrefour Laval. The restaurant offers a variety of seafood dishes, including oysters, lobster rolls, fish and chips, and grilled octopus. One of the highlights is their impressive raw bar with a permanent $1 oyster special. The menu features fresh products and changes regularly based on seasonal availability.
1$ oysters are not too bad, a bit small but definitely worth it. Food is quite tasty too, I’ve tried different kinds of things of the menu and didn’t disappoint. The place is nice, clean and the staff is very friendly, and also are on point with work efficiency. I would go back and recommend to any family, friends.

Not the first and definitely not the last time at Lucille's monkland location. The First time I ordered beef capacio, it was really good ! Super fresh beef Then we had a tartar trio, I found it was ok. But the grilled octopus with salad, it is really good! It doesn't cooked too dry. It is crunchy with cucumber and tomato. The sauce is good too. Not to mention the $1 oysters to start with! The service was good, and the food came out fast. I highly recommend it! And if it was your first time, definitely the monkland location is the BEST

It was the first time for my husband and I, at this restaurant on Monkland ave, and definitely not the last time! A nice warm setting, a very clean restaurant that has a good ventilation. The food is very good, many working staff members, everyone is polite, smiling and working hard, a real teamwork. The restaurant was packed, and it was only Tuesday. We sat indoors and many people sat on the outside terrace. We ordered shrimp cocktail and a Greek salad as entrées. 6 huge tender, juicy shrimps, so yummy, and the Greek salad with a big piece of Feta cheese was out of this world, so yummy, the best I have eaten in years. Then my husband had the grilled lobster with French fries and house salad, and I ordered the 2 lobsters rolls with French fries. The lobster was very good, perfectly grilled, tender juicy, and very well seasoned with garlic, butter, so yummy. My 2 lobster rolls were excellent, and the bread was lightly toasted,, the best rolls ever. We drank beer with the food. As dessert, we ordered the divine crème brûlée, so creamy, so tasty, a big portion, and also ordered the cheese cake, which was a bit on the dry side. The service was courteous, fast and our waitress Olivia was very pleasant, hard worker, very attentive and quite helpful about the menu, answering all our questions. This restaurant has a friendly and welcoming feeling which made our dining experience a very happy one. We will definitely be back to try everything they have on the menu.

I heard great things about this restaurant, and decided to come give it a visit during my first visit to Montreal. We got seated right away, because we had reservations, however we did end up waiting for awhile to get our order taken, but staff were very friendly and welcoming. We both ordered half a dozen of the premium oysters and their dollar oyster special. Oysters were sweet and tasted amazing! We also ordered the lobster roll, fish and chips, and for dessert the chocolate mousse. First time eating a lobster roll, and I was very impressed and pleased with how it came. The bread was buttery and soft, a good portion of lobster and the mayo just tied it all together beautifully. Fish and chips were decent, but personally I found that there was too much batter, that I got tired of eating half way through one piece. Fries were mediocre. I wouldn't recommend it. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse which tasted amazing and was the perfect dessert to end the meal. The atmosphere and vibe is dark and busy, but it was an amazing experience and I would definitely come back for their lobster roll!

MARCUS Restaurant + Lounge is a chic venue located in the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Montreal. The restaurant offers a versatile menu featuring brunch, seafood, and meat plates, complemented by an extensive selection of wine and cocktails. The kitchen is known for its impeccable delivery of seafood dishes, including recipes from renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson and new creations from executive chef Jason Morris.
We had the most magical experience at Marcus! It was supposed to be my daughter’s prom night, but she didn’t attend; so we decided to make the evening special in our own way, she always wanted to go there, i made the réservation and I called the restaurant last minute to ask if they could leave a little note on her dessert, and although they said it might be too short notice, they went above and beyond. When we arrived, there was a beautiful note waiting on the table, and the staff were incredibly kind and thoughtful. Everyone congratulated her, and it truly made her feel celebrated and seen. You turned what could have been a sad night into one she’ll always remember. Thank you for your kindness, your care, and your amazing service. You made her night—and mine—absolutely unforgettable. 💖 I can’t recall the waiter's name, but he was someone we will never forget. He was an exceptional person, very kind, and provided exceptional service! Thank you VERY much, Marcus team!

We had dinner at the bar of Marcus on a Friday evening. The atmosphere was very vibrant. The oysters were fresh and the pasta with lobster was just delicious. A great start of the weekend.

Really great time, very beautiful setting and fairly attentive and fast service. The food was delicious... Especially the dessert menu where you get to see all the desserts in real life instead of a paper menu... Pretty cool! Underground parking entrance was impossible to spot with all the city construction... Ended up parking in the parking garage down the street There was a bit unclarity if taxes were being added on the tip and the hostess didn't really clarify... It was a few dollars so we let it go but it would be nice if the bill was clearer.

Great experience here at Marcus we had a group of 9 and got a nice more private area seating spot. We ordered everything family style and shared everything we had ordered. We had someone who was vegetarian and the resturant accommodated by making a truffle pasta which was not on the menu specifically for him! A few of the notable mentions are the bluefin tuna tartar, the wagyu beef (this is market price so be aware of the weight), and the portobello mushroom (incredible!) We got each of the desserts that were available and my favourite was the round dark chocolate tart (unfortunately I don't remember the name of this but it was delicious if you like chocolatey things!

Great service, ambiance and staff ! Will never stop going 🤣 The pasta and lobster are 12/10. Never disapointed !! The truffle fries are also a must everytime ! Sea Tower : Fresh and delicious ! The sauce that came with shrimp was delicious 😋 The salads were a good portion and also great!

The chef table experience was wonderful. Appreciate the thoughtfulness in crafting a menu that was suited to my dietary needs. The service was exquisite. The meal started with caviar on a latke that was crispy on the outside and creamy inside. Next was a bluefin tuna tartare with wasabi cream and radishes, this dish was beautiful and had the perfect balance of textures. Our third dish was a caramelized scallop with a dairy free hollandaise sauce, the sauce was tart and absolutely delicious. The next dish was the stand out for me, steamed cod with the most amazing vegetables—this was absolute perfection! The last dish was a cherry sorbet inside a vanilla meringue cup which was so pretty! Really appreciated this addition, as finding dairy free and gluten free desserts can be challenging. Absolutely recommend this experience. Thank you for a wonderful meal! Also a note, we had breakfast at this restaurant as well and everything was great. The chia pudding is amazing! There are dairy free and gluten free options for breakfast!

Marcus Montréal truly delivers a high-end, chic experience. The atmosphere is sophisticated, the food exceptional, and every dish is beautifully presented and full of flavour. The cocktails are top-notch, perfectly crafted and balanced. The service is outstanding, the staff and waitresses are welcoming, attentive, and professional, making you feel genuinely cared for. Their valet service is quick and efficient, adding to the overall seamless experience. Yesss! It’s a fancy restaurant and you pay a premium, but every detail, from the presentation to the service, makes it absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an elegant and memorable dining experience in Montréal.

@Robyn Lazare: I dined at Marcus for brunch. $75 for myself alone and I received a two egg omelet with a cherry tomato and one slice of toast. Not a breakfast potato or accompaniment in sight. After being told they had run out of orange juice.. No orange juice?!?!? Do they have oranges? It was replaced by an $11 glass of grapefruit juice with a film around the glass like it had been stored in the fridge for days. I received my $10 cappucino in the tiniest cup without so much as a sprinkle of cinnamon and it was cold. After requesting for it to be replaced, I received my coffee at the end of my meal. The lovely girl who worked there told me that she is forbidden to eat at her own place of work as she requires several sign off signatures for the honour. I guess they value their staff even less than there customers. What a ripoff!! It seems I was even overcharged for a green juice which obviously I did not have. $14 for old stagnant grapefruit juice. $10 gratuity was added on to the bill for my server who was the only good thing about the experience.

The menu features a wide variety of makis, sashimis, and rolls along with other Japanese cuisine options prepared with fresh and savory ingredients. The spacious contemporary Japanese-style interior design creates a cozy atmosphere for gatherings with friends or special date nights.
Mikasa Laval: A must try if you’re in the area! This restaurant has a beautiful decor with high ceiling and good vibes. Not too noisy also. The entrée, sushi & main dishes were just delicious and fresh. You have choices for all palettes. The Staff were amazing too! We had a good service all night for a party of 12 people. Lots of free parking 🅿️ too!

We finally got to try Mikasa Sushi Bar in Centropolis. Very cool vibe. Quite busy. Chic ambience The lobster salad is delicious. The rolls are delicious. Avocado sushi delicious. The portions are on the small side. Order more than what you think. The service was friendly. Located right in the middle of Centropolis. The parking availability depends on the night. I will definitely go back.

Wonderful place with really great food and Caine our server was amazing and worked non stop to make the evening memorable.

After the entrance you get into a magnificent traditional interior, the decorations are on a high level, also the second floor with separate rooms is insanely interesting. If you want to fully immerse yourself in the Japanese atmosphere I recommend booking a table there (open only on Friday and Saturday). The food is delicious, beautifully served. The chef is clearly a master of his craft. Everything I tried was cooked deliciously. The only thing I didn't like was the improper scheduling of staff time. The restaurant load was 60-75% and there were exactly two waiters. In my opinion, this is wrong. Due to this we had to wait a long time for the bill and payment. Overall a great place, highly recommended.

We have been coming to Mikasa for over 10 years. Located at Centropolis in Laval with superb views of the circle with fountains it is located right in the middle of all the “action” and beauty of the area. It is a spectacular spot to be sitting outside and enjoying a nice warm evening. We ordered multiple sushi rolls, the ones I highly recommend are Le Rouge (with lobster), Saumon Fondant and Anaconda - All from the specialty menu. And for the main course the Black Cod - super delicious. A pitcher of blue Sangria was very refreshing. We were served by Billy who made sure that everything was perfect! Just an overall beautiful night.

Always a pleasure to eat at Ryu! The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between luxury and warmth, with impeccable service that’s both professional and genuinely welcoming. I was visiting from California and wanted to eat at a nice restaurant and Ryu ended up being the perfect choice. The service was fantastic, our waiter was so kind and gave us welcome shots at the end of the dinner. The food, incredible, the wine/cocktails, incredible. I highly recommend!

Came to Ryu as the closing meal of a vacation in Montreal. A friend suggested we go there as he regulars when he visits. We both had omakase and it's arguably the best I've had. Every dish was unique and some of the taste profiles were very surprising in an exciting way. Dessert was very rich and did not finish it but it was very subjective. Impeccable service by everyone who came to our table and the restaurant was very comfortable, especially considering the city was so humid during the visit. Will absolutely make this a regular when I visit again.

Makro par GRINDER is a trendy and sophisticated restaurant in Little Burgundy that offers contemporary Mexican-inspired seafood and cocktails. The menu features a wide variety of seafood options, including octopus, lobster, halibut, cod, mackerel, fish burgers, salads, raw bar platters, and risotto. After enjoying a meal at Makro par GRINDER, guests can head downstairs to King Crab for cocktails and dancing in a velour and mirror-lined speakeasy.
We had a big party of 25 for a surprise bday. Beside the amazing food and atmosphere, the staff was the nicest and most efficient I've ever seen! Thank you so much for the amazing service! Looooved my evening! To top it off downstairs at the King Krab, great place for drinks and music!

Not a fan of leaving bad reviews, but when you don’t get the value you pay for, it’s gotta be cautioned for anyone else considering this spot. We were a table of 8 with a total bill around 1500$. I will start with the positives. Nice ambiance to the restaurant, valet service satisfies the parking solution, grilled octopus was great. The negatives: Service is way too slow for a restaurant asking customers to pay these prices. Multiple times, servers would be seen just hanging around and talking huddled up to each other and we would have to make a sign to come see our table. Definitely not the service we were expecting. From what we ordered, we ordered oysters which were standard, but along with the grilled octopus we ordered their so called “signature” sea bass which was overpriced and overrated for what it was. In the end, it seemed pretty basic. Just a sea bass fish cut open with a couple different sauces on it and to the side. Nothing special about it. The servers hype you up with it but it’s not worth it. Just a heads up, don’t fall for the same trap! Back to the service, it would be appreciated if the servers are fully bilingual. Even though I am trilingual, If I choose to speak in English and was being responded in French, it does not reflect well on the service potential. I could understand if it was McDonald’s but at this price tag, it would be great to choose to communicate in the customer’s preferred language between English and French. That effort was absent. Valet service could be quicker both upon arrival and upon leaving. Waiting 15 mins for your car when there are at least 2 valets is a bit too much to wait. I would gladly pay these prices at a restaurant providing price reflecting dishes and high end service. It’s a little sad cause this place has potential to be better. But my bottom line: I am one and done with this one.

Celebrated my sister’s birthday with the fam. at Makro by Grinder and we had an amazing dinner! From the time we sat down we were taken care of. The food was absolutely fantastic and drinks were delicious! At the end of the evening the chef even came out to say hello and show love. Definitely will be coming back. The Orecchiette Bolognaise was incredible, the beef short ribs was melt in your mouth, the rib eye was perfectly cooked & packed with flavour. Definitely a must try the Grinder chain!!! Tell em’ Jay sent ya!

The seafood platter was worth the price each kind included was great. Personally prefer giant shrimp which had stronger flavour than grilled octopus. Yuca frit was magically tasty since I didn’t like it for the first bite. However I ended up eating them all.😆

Very good food - try the tartare, with the sweet potato fries, it is out of this world! The service was great and very attentive. The cocktails are good, the rice cakes and the Porterhouse too. It was just extremely hot in there on a summer evening - not sure if it was an AC problem

The food was delicious! Had the 40oz Wagyu Tomahawk, special for the F1 weekend, with the side of mushrooms and grilled Brussel sprouts. The steak was great, as expected, but the mushrooms were fantaaaaaaastic. Pleasant surprise. The hostess was incredibly friendly, as was the bartender (Nikolo I believe?) We had a few drinks, but I highly recommend the Piscocello and they also make a good amaretto sour. Ambiance was great, and while the wait for the food was a bit long, definitely within reason for the F1 weekend. All in all, highly recommend! All in all, great spot!

This is my second time at this beautifully decorated restaurant. The ambiance is so chill and awesome. Jennifer, our waitress was an absolute delight who took care of us amazingly. The food, I went with fixed menu priced 49$, so I had grilled octopus salad, almond and bean crusted salmon and mini dessert of cream puff, matcha chocolate truffle and nata. My boyfriend had oysters, and grilled octopus with potatoes. Our dishes were paired with delicious wine of red and white. Every single dish was stunningly presented, evenly flavored, tasted very succulent. We had an excellent experience at Makro. 100% recommended!

My friends and I loved our dinner at Josephine so much that the next night, we skipped dessert at another restaurant to go back to Josephine for a post-dinner seafood snack! The seafood is so fresh and delicious, and the service and staff so friendly and welcoming. The dish we really wanted (the grilled lobster) had just been sold out, and the server was so amazing and friendly, joking with us about our feigned disappointment. A big highlight of our trip!

Loved Josephine! Would be perfect for date night. I went alone and sat at the bar on a Friday and it was pretty empty. The fish special was out of this world, and I loved the oysters and the mignonette hot sauce that came with it. You are paying $$$ for not a big portion, just note that. I walked out a little hungry but knew I wanted something lighter. And it is still worth it for the flavors. One of the best meals I have had in Montreal!

We had difficulty finding reservations for the upcoming Father’s Day weekend. Called and they said they could squeeze us in at the oyster bar at 19:00. We walked over nearly a half hour early and were seated in their pleasant sidewalk outdoor area. Our waiter, Thomas was nice, efficient and accurate with his recommendations. My wife had fried calamari, not overcooked, light, crunchy crust, just the right amount for one person. I tried each of the 4 types of oysters offered that evening, simply with lemon and jalapeño sauce which I didn’t use. My wife ordered a grilled lobster, well prepared and simple. I ordered sea bass with a reduction sauce, mushrooms, clams and asparagus. Fish was moist, not overcooked with crispy skin. Skipped dessert. Sorry, I ate the oysters before the photo.

Came by myself on a sunny Wednesday around 6pm—place was pretty empty so I got seated and served right away. Drink landed in just a few minutes, and my half seafood platter ($55) was on the table within 15. I also had their tequila cocktail ($16), which was a solid pairing. The oysters were fresh and really good, though I wish there was more than one sauce option—they only serve them with a homemade jalapeño mignonette, which isn’t my favorite. But then came the shrimp... absolutely insane. Easily the best shrimp I’ve had in recent memory. The salmon gravlax was super fresh, and the tuna tataki was delicious too. Yeah, it’s a bit pricey, but honestly, the quality of the ingredients makes it worth it.

Le FRICOT is a popular spot in Montreal that opened in April 2019, offering classic Acadian dishes like poutine rapee and fricot stew. It has quickly become known for its lobster rolls, popcorn shrimp, and fresh oysters. The restaurant also offers cocktails recommended by the waitstaff. Customers have enjoyed the lobster rolls and found the oysters to be fresh and delicious. The restaurant provides great food, service, and value with a cozy cottage-like decor.
We ended up getting two lobster rolls (duo) with fries, dozen oysters and some cocktails (waiter recommended - which was by far the highlight of this meal). The lobster rolls were a little dry and celery flavour was a little too strong for my liking but my girlfriend thought it was delicious. The roll itself was so good! The bread. Oysters were fresh, delicious and so worth the buck a shuck. Only wish they had a variety of more condiments like horse radish but no complaints! It was definitely worth! The fries were AMAZING, It tasted like they fry it with peanut oil and it was so good! Overall had an amazing time due to the friendly staff… can’t stress the hospitality enough.

Been here a few times before. Always a great time. The food is good. Do wish they had their old menu because I miss the poutine râpée! Otherwise, great service. Amazing drinks. Great vibes. Totally worth a visit. Really spoke to my Acadian roots ;)

Le Fricot is an excellent brand new acadian restaurant located in the South West. The whole menu is well-thought-out, the interior decor is beautiful and the staff is very knowledgeable. Notre Dame Street is filled with many restaurants but Le Fricot stands out with its unique acadian cooking, seasonal seafood and dining experience. I tried le Fricot à Ulysse, the iconic acadian soup, the “poutine râpée” (apple, meat juice, origan, chicken), the lobster rolls (always served with a side), the gravlax waffles, etc. I highly recommend this place.

Good bar restaurant. Like many other bars, the food menu is not as diverse. However, they serve fresh oysters! It is not on the menu though.

Great food, great service, great value. Dinner for two with a bottle of wine for under $130. Best fried chicken in the city hands down. Gazpacho with a ton of shrimp was also a highlight. Donair is simple but pulled off perfectly and 6 oysters for 9 dollars again with a simple but perfect mignonette. Not fine dining, not intended to be. Cottage like decor a la Liverpool house down the street. A neighborhood rich in amazing food just got richer. Highest recommendation

Worst service for brunch in Montreal. They served us incomplete dishes (literally missing side items that were listed in the menu) and acted normal about it. Worst is that they didn’t serve it after our questioning, they said they were out of it. Imagine ordering your omelette with fries and fruits, and the fries doesn’t come with it? Yes that’s about what happened. We questioned the service and they gave us attitude. As for the food that was served, Im still having trouble digesting that overcooked, dry ham. There are so many good brunch places out there it’s hard to understand how they stay open. And the good reviews here, I hardly doubt they are real, the place was dead and it was late morning on a sunny Sunday. This place is trash.

Sushi Okeya Kyujiro offers an authentic omakase dining experience, where Chef Takuya Matsuda curates a culinary spectacle with carefully prepared dishes showcasing the finest ingredients and refined Japanese cooking techniques. The restaurant's minimalist yet elegant setting sets the stage for a 20-course omakase menu, featuring rare fish imported directly from Japan. Each course is designed to highlight umami flavors, delivering a multisensory journey that culminates in a traditional tea ceremony.
So uh... I haven't reviewed this marvelous experience since the first time I've gone back in 2023 and the second time in 2024, so here ya go. Both experience was an amazing experience for both me and my partner. Seeing the chefs preparing everything right in front of us and making sure that we are consuming (to both me and my partner) probably the highest quality of fish possible was amazing. We tried the lunch service the first time, and then the evening service the second time. Taking about 1h-1h30 for the former and about 3h for the latter, time flew by in the blink of an eye as you are just seated and enjoying the show and the great feast. Wish I could say more, but don't think I got enough words to explain the experience. To experience at least once if possible!

Coming from NYC i know what a good omakase feels like. Still, the theatrics and meticulousness, the music and the variety of flavors and spacing makes this bounds above the rest. I felt like i was eating food in like a scene from the Legend of Zelda or something along the like. Apparently it was inspired and modeled after circus de soleil, just a culinary version. An amazing olfactory, auditory and culinary journey.

Truly stunning meal that’s one of a kind! The sushi is the highest of quality, the service was outstanding, and everything was just amazing. It’s very true to what omakase in Japan is like and they go above and beyond with the menu here. There were some bites that made me emotional. It’s definitely a special occasion restaurant and everyone there was celebrating a birthday or anniversary, but if I had my way (or the funds) I would celebrate all my birthdays there! disclaimer: my meal was comped

I had the privilege of coming here as a surprise on my birthday. It was such an amazing experience. The food was incredible to say the least but I think the chefs and the wait staff are what stood out to me the most. Not only were we graced with the presence of the owner and headchef himself, every single person in the staff maintained the highest level of service. Throughout this entire experience, they made sure that everyone could see what was essentially a performance in the kitchen and the wait staff explained every single dish as they were passed out. I got a sweet little surprise birthday wish from the staff that made me tear up. Overall I would definitely recommend it if you have the opportunity.

This is a Kaiseki styled restaurant that serves a mix of sushi and hot dishes. While the ingredients are fresh and cooked well, the tempo of the dishes served is a bit faster than what is typical for a satisfying course. The staff was professional and knowledgeable. We had a good experience here.

a performance, a meticulously choreographed celebration of Japanese culinary artistry, where art meets precision. The 20+ course Omakase menu unfolded like an epic narrative, each dish more surprising and delightful than the last. Every plate presented was not merely food, but a revelation. The chefs, masters of their craft, work not behind walls but on a stage of polished wood, their movements fluid, deliberate, and reverent. The attention to detail was staggering. They do not cook—they compose. The service staff, equal parts storytellers and scholars, were gracious and attentive, but also deeply knowledgeable, offering insightful explanations and a fascinating background behind each course. From the first bite to the final, lingering note of dessert, the experience teeters between performance and prayer. Perhaps most impressive of all was how seamlessly the team catered to our individual needs. Dietary restrictions and allergies were handled with care and creativity, without compromising the integrity or intention of any dish, all seamlessly woven into the performance as though the script had always read that way.

Went here for lunch—easier to book than dinner. $175 per person, and with drinks, tax, and tip, it came out to about $500 for two. Food: Excellent quality. Started with warm fish appetizers and a small bowl of chawanmushi—perfect way to ease into the meal. Sushi was fresh, well-balanced, and served with warm, properly portioned rice. Only letdown was the dessert: the yuzu cake’s crust overwhelmed the flavor. Felt more like a Western-style dessert, not quite in line with the rest of the experience. Ambience: The space is small and well-maintained, but the high stools are not very comfortable—especially for anyone with mobility issues. A sunken chef’s counter with standard chairs would’ve made a big difference. Service: Very professional and well-rehearsed—almost theatrical, in a fun way. However, the pacing was fast. The entire 15-course omakase wrapped up in about an hour, which felt a bit rushed compared to the more leisurely two-hour meals I’m used to. Still, the overall quality was way ahead of places like sushi place right next to it.(I know I probably shouldn’t even compare these two together😂 but hey they are in the same price range) I’d happily come back to try the dinner service.

I've been to the Toronto location when it first opened and maybe the novelty has worn off, but my visit here was a bit of a disappointment. The experience didn't feel as luxurious (Toronto gave me a souvenir at the end of the meal) and for 20 courses, the service was pretty rushed at slightly under 2 hours. I appreciate the use of seasonal and high quality ingredients. Things like aiyu sweetfish, Hokkaido hairy crab and Ibaraki sweet potato are hard to come by outside Japan. However, it didn't feel like these special ingredients were allowed to shine in the cooking. For example, the few pieces of junsai were cut too small and hidden below the pile of cucumber, shrimp and umibudo - it didn't feel like junsai was the star of the dish. The wagyu slice was also soaked in sesame sauce, which didn't allow its beautiful umami to come through. The use of wild BC tuna for otoro also meant that it's leaner and less fatty than what I'm used to. The lack of the signature "melt in your mouth" feel of otoro was a shame. Overall, none of the dishes stood out to me. They were very bland and one-note, propped up by pretty presentation. The service was amazing and I wish the food wowed me more.

Lucille's Laval is a delightful seafood haven that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its inviting decor and warm ambiance, this restaurant stands out for its exceptional service, highlighted by attentive staff like Kim, who ensures every meal is perfectly timed. Even non-seafood lovers will find something to enjoy here; the menu caters to all tastes, including vegetarian options. Diners rave about the fresh burrata appetizer and flavorful lamb chops paired with creamy mashed potatoes.
Worth visiting. The food is good and well presented. Beef tartar appetizer is very well done. Half octopus salad looked delicious. The octopus was well cooked but the salad had too much dressing. Pasta with seafood was delicious but the portion rather small.

Lucille's Laval is a very nice place to enjoy oysters. Their $1 oysters are quite small, but very tasty — honestly, 12 is not enough! The drinks are amazing — my Dark and Stormy cocktail was perfect, 10/10. Food ratings: Oysters: 6/10 Mushroom side dish: 10/10 Chicken plate: 8/10 Salmon tartare: 2/10 — didn’t taste fresh, and the flavor was very bland. It came with old plantain chips on the side. White fish tartare: 2/10 — there was more crunchy topping than actual fish. Service: 10/10 The waitress was very professional and fast, especially when it came to taking my order and serving drinks. Only downside: At one point, she drank from a customer’s glass at a nearby table. Whether it was her boyfriend or husband, it came across as unprofessional in front of other guests. Overall: Great drinks and service, some excellent dishes, but the tartares were a disappointment

I was looking forward to bringing my fiancé to this restaurant we stayed with friends a year ago. Unfortunately, the food didn’t come as ordered (porc, not spicy, etc). The waitress was very polite and friendly, but the floor manager was a mockery. Mocking us despite proof of photos/videos of the food, and offering tea instead of providing quality service. I guess they’re in for a quick buck versus building a customer base, at least with this floor manager… anyways highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere where you’ll feel properly welcomed.

Went to Lucille’s in Laval with a group of 8. The vibe was nice and the place has a cool atmosphere, perfect for a night out. That said, the service was really slow — it took about an hour and a half to get our food, which was frustrating. The seafood platter was solid overall, lots of variety and well-cooked. The lobster, though, was a tough and overdone. Drinks were good but pricey — you're looking at $18–$20 for a single cocktail. Waitresses were friendly and tried their best even though kitchen was extremely slow. Definitely on the higher end in terms of cost, so expect to pay for the ambiance and presentation.

We are visiting from Hamilton, Ontario and picked to eat her upon seeing great reviews and a tasty menu! We were very pleased! Our server Alessia was extremely hospitable, kind and easy to chat with. She gave us great recommendations on the menu and was very knowledgeable about the food. The food was delicious, we ordered a variety of appetizers, steak and lamb and left happy and full! Would recommend to anyone in the area!

Located in the west end of Montreal, Lucille's Oyster Dive has been serving oysters and traditional seafood dishes since 2009. They offer the best selection of oysters from both the East and West Coasts. Depending on seasonal availability, the oyster selection changes daily. While traditional dishes include lobster rolls and fish & chips, Lucille's cuisine offers a variety and modernization of seafood dishes that keep their guests coming back for more. Whether you're looking for a quick bite at the counter, or a night out with friends, the staff has a reputation for making you feel right at home., I have to be honest the waitress are so beautiful 😍 lol 😆..

The food was delicious and well presented. Our server was amazing, she was so sweet and offered an amazing service. Also, our food was late, so she gave us a complimentary dish (it was the calamari and it tasted so good) Honestly, I really recommend this restaurant for a fancy diner out. 10/10

Had a craving for a lobster roll and decided to order takeout. The staff was super friendly, but the lobster roll itself was disappointing — it really lacked flavor and needed a bit of a kick. $50 for two buns feels very overrated, and the salad on the side didn’t help much either. It’s not my first time at Lucile’s, but honestly, this visit was underwhelming. It could definitely be better.

Marché 27 is a trendy restaurant and bar known for its diverse small plates and unique tartare options. While it's famous for its raw bar offerings, such as raw oysters and fish, the cooked dishes like their flavorful ramen with generous portions of pork belly and egg are equally impressive. The fusion of French tartare and Japanese influences creates a delightful dining experience. Guests praise the attentive service, particularly highlighting Melissa's exceptional hospitality.
Melissa! Melissa! Melissa! This place serves good food which is a fusion of French tartar and Japanese... order any of the tartar and you will not be disappointed. What makes this place stand out is the service that Melissa provides; I had the pleasure of being served by her at the start. As I was alone she tried to be friendly and recommended really good entrees unfortunately I think she had to leave and I was then served by others who weren’t as effective or attentive. I would come back here only if she serves me.. I also noticed other people left notes for her! The owner should give her a raise as the restaurant would not be the same without her.

Spectacular. Great ambiance with pleasant music. My wife and I ordered their seafood tartar platter and Portuguese chicken, along with sangria and a Caesar Japonaise. The drinks were both made with wonderfully. The seafood tartar platter was really good, paired expertly with spices, seasonings and accoutrements. The chicken was perfectly cooked, but had a hefty covering of incredibly spicy rub. Surprised us, though I'm sure others would care for it more than we did. Pros: Excellent bartending and drink crafting. Great selection of quality tartar. Cons: It was quite busy and there were only 2 servers / bartenders for the restaurant. Very long wait times between service. Overall, very pleasant experience.

Delicious tartare! So many choices! My fav was the duck Italian style and the salmon. The bone marrow was rich and tasty. The one down part was the ramen ... too salty. I went there with 2 friends on a Thursday night and we had a great time. Plus on Thursday the wine are half price. I changed 5 stars to 3 stars because I tried to come twice recently just to find out that they were closed each time. It says that they close at 11pm .... yesterday we were a group of 6 and they were already closed at 8h30 ... very disappointed not sure how does the owner or manager allow that ...

Junjun is a modern Filipino restaurant in Montreal, founded by brothers Toddy and Jojo Flores, who are also behind popular spots like Junior and Cafe GotSoul. The restaurant offers a fresh take on traditional Filipino dishes with influences from the city. Some standout dishes include Abodo duck breast, carpaccio-style Bulalo, and a unique Kinilaw featuring Quebec mackerel. The restaurant's welcoming atmosphere complements its narrow and deep layout, including a small bar area.
An absolute hidden gem in Montreal!! From the food, to the drinks, to the vibe… everything was impeccable, especially the service/hospitality. If you’re looking for elevated filipino food, this place will certainly hit the spot. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Rebecca S — Google review
As someone who's been to this restaurant over 5+ times, I can tell you each experience has been better than the other. The kindest and most welcoming staff I've experienced hands down. The owner, Rey, makes sure that every client is tended to and satisfied with their overall experience. Initially, I had never considered Filipino cuisine since there aren't too many spots in Montreal. The aesthetic of the restaurant is what initially reeled me in, but the staff, service & food is what got me to come back time after time. Heads up for those who have never tried Filipino cuisine, most dishes are on the sweeter side & mildly spicy! (If you don't like the spice, tell them beforehand so they can modify some of their sauces for you, they're super accommodating!). If it's your first time, I highly recommend their tasting menu to be able to discover the different items on the menu! If not, the octopus (pugita kare kare), shrimp bisque & smoked mackarel (kinilaw) have been my go to-s! The drinks are always tasty & aesthetically pleasing. Each dish is always thoroughly explained and they all have their own unique backstory. One thing I really appreciate, they change the cutlery & plates after every service! You can tell that they really care about their customers. They always keep an open mind and want feedback from their clients as they change their menu items from time to time as the season changes! I 100% recommend JunJun and I will keep coming back! Thank you guys for such a great time!! :)

The drinks are very well executed. Func mix of sweet and savory. The food, well the food keeps true to it’s Filipino origins. The heat is there, but it’s controlled. Ot adds to the dishes. Octopus with peanut butter was very nice. The humble cabbage gets a major upgrade. As the lest expensive item on the menu when we visited, it packed a real punch. Will be back!

Had a great night celebrating the restaurant’s 1 year anniversary. Some standouts were the cocktails, the bao buns, and the duck adobo. I think over time this restaurant will continue to evolve into a go to spot for reinvented and gastronomique Filipino/Asian cuisine!

Brunch was amazing! It was my first time trying Junjun and it was definitely not the last time. Filipino cuisine is really underrated and they did an amazing job in combing the traditional flavors and dishes with a new/modern twist. The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Laval is a classy yet informal chain eatery known for its delectable steak and seafood options. The establishment boasts a clean and stylish ambiance, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is highly professional, ready to assist with any inquiries or offer explanations about the menu choices. Service is prompt and efficient, earning top marks for its speed and quality.
First time traveling to Canada for work, and this was highly recommended by other traveling co-workers, and locals at the jobsite. Food was stellar, and the service was great! The Keg has a very beautiful interior and atmosphere. I ordered the Mushroom Neptune for my appetizer. The Mushroom Neptune was Mushroom caps stuffed with cream cheese and crab, they are small Mushroom caps, so one appetizer is good for one person. I also ordered the New York Striploin, which was cooked to perfection. I will definitely visit here next time I travel to Montreal!

We had a dinner, ordered from the summer lobster menu. We found the appetizer tasty, jet too much butter in both shrimp gratiné and lobster gratiné. Half of the butter would have been sufficient. The main dish - sirloin and 1/2 lobster - delicious! Raspberry sorbet for dessert - amazing! The service was impeccable!

Myself and 2 friends had dinner plans at the keg on Friday. We sat in the bar area. Upon eating our food we found something questionable inside our plate. We weren’t sure what exactly it was but it seemed to be a piece of metal. We advised the waiter who simply apologized but that was it. After spending close to 100$ on my bill it wasn’t what we were expecting to find in the food

The lobster is delicious, the salmon tart 100% recommendable. The lobster au gratin is very good. Where they lack love is in the bar area. The drinks are not always good. For example, you could skip the lavender lemonade and order a beer to avoid disappointment. But the service is very good, the staff is very friendly. Don't miss the opportunity to eat on the terrace in summer as the inside of the restaurant is dark.

I don't think there are enough stars to give this steakhouse the rating it deserves. The total package is simply amazing. As an international steak critique, I cannvouch that the folks know how to cook their meats! Value for money portions and the Billy Miner dessert was delightful. Our hostess Silvie is an absolute sweetheart and the top of my charts in this continent. Book ahead as it does get busy.

Favorote steakhouse to visit when in Canada. My wife and I have been to quite a few Toronto locations, and it's always been great! At first glance, the restaurant looks nice. Once at our table, we noticed the lighting was very low. To the point we could barely read the menus. b But I guess they do it for the ambiance. The table was so small we it barely held the menus. But, we tried to enjoy the night anyway. Initially, we no one was sitting beside us, so it was ok. But, they ended up sitting another couple beside us, and that was where the issues came in. We were so close to each other that I could hear the guy breathing! You would think we came in together. Made me very uncomfortable. The service was ok, but the waitress didn't explain menu options well. So, we ended up double ordering. And what we thought was included in one meal wasn't. But, it was the table size and location that was horrible. The food was good, though.

I have never had a steak or piece of meat that i would grade less than an 8. Loved the service and atmosphere of modern day steakhouse. I buttered up that hot bread and ate more than i should have. Le Chalutier MLM is a beloved dining destination that specializes in fish 'n' chips, but also delights patrons with an array of grilled steak, seafood, and Greek dishes. Despite the initial wait for a table—often around 30 minutes due to its popularity—the experience is well worth it. Diners rave about the fish 'n' chips, highlighting the tender haddock coated in a perfectly crispy batter that isn’t overly thick.
Was not expecting much from this restaurant, but heard great things about this. Turns out it is worth the hype! We had to wait 30 minutes for a table to be ready for us (party of 4), but the fish and chips were out of this world! After trying many different fish and chips places, this one was definitely my favorite; the fish was tender, moist, and seasoned to perfection, without the breading being too thick. The service was excellent and so was everything else (soup and dessert). Definitely recommend!

I heard very good things about this restaurant before going there. I was still surprised to see the huge lineup at the door 5pm. However the crowd was a bit older. I heard that the fish chips were really good. I gave that a try and it was indeed a treat. The batter is crispy and they use haddock for their fish. Our waitress was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu to us. She even told us to order some desserts ahead of time because they are popular and run out fast. So we actually got our desserts before everything else. The decor is nothing out of the ordinary. The glasses and coffee cups were already on the glass covered tables. Not classy, but hey, I was there for the food and it was worth the trip and the wait. They also have a good sized free parking lot.

The place was very clean and the fish was delicious , it’s sad the service was very bad , very rushed. Waitress did not tell us that there’s the option of “a la carte” and “ table d’hote” , Ofc she charged us the expensive one. Also one of the guest on my table only wanted an appetizer. The waitress still charges an extra “4$” on one of the plates for “sharing” , it’s sad because the food is delicious but the service won’t make me go back . Good luck

The pumpkin was soup good. Definitely recommend.

This restaurant was recently recommended to us. Here we were for the first time. Service was excellent after waiting only about five minutes to get in. They even have a shelter to wait in outside, if it's bad weather. Once in we were served quickly. Menus is simple and straight forward, place under a glass table top. Started with a glass of Sangria for both of us and an appetizer of Caesar Salad, which was enough for both of us, tasty and fresh. We ordered their specialty, which was the Fish and Chips (Single Piece), which came with a quarter of lemon, Tartar Sauce, and a side of Cole Slaw, needless to say plenty of home made fries. No frozen food here. Definitely good value for your money here.

We went for a colleague’s retirement lunch. Lovely atmosphere! Lovely staff. Service overall was great. I wasn’t particularly happy about my choice of main dish. I wanted to try something different and should have asked more questions about my order. I didn’t realize the Ravoili was a vegetarian option. I think it had mushrooms not so sure now. I didn’t enjoy it and would probably scarred from trying out this dish elsewhere. However, others who ordered steak and the rice dish enjoyed theirs. It looked yummy and even made eating mine more difficult.🤣😂 The salad was really good, desert was good as well and the wine compensated for my lack of enthusiasm for the main dish. Overall, it was a pleasant time spent. I would definitely recommend and would love to go back to try the rice dish. 😁The sight has had me dreaming of going back for days! 🥰👌🏾

It's a modern well decorated restaurant. Average service but horrible food. Some one needs to change the menu , add flavor, change the presentation make the portion slightly bigger. All 3 courses I was served won't fill one plate, no taste in soup or salad , steak was not 12oz as shown in the menu and was over cooked almost burned for all us on the table ordering medium. Will NOT recommend this place to anyone.
N N — Google review
We recently visited as a group and opted for the group menu, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Service execution was the first challenge: many guests didn’t receive their plates in order and had to check in with three different servers, none of whom circled back with clear updates. This lack of communication created unnecessary frustration. The drinks also missed the mark, needing to be remade twice. For a restaurant of this caliber, consistency in both cocktails and service should be a priority. On the food side, our group intentionally ordered different dishes so we could sample the full menu. The standout was the gnocchi with blue cheese cream—my portion was creamy and flavorful, though I requested it without nuts (which seemed out of place in the dish). Unfortunately, other guests received gnocchi that were dry and undersauced, pointing to inconsistency in plating. More broadly, we found that additions like raisins, nuts, and what seemed to be fig/date mash didn’t complement the dishes at all—simpler, more focused flavors would be more effective. The calamari, for example, would shine with just lemon and a well-made dipping sauce, but instead felt overworked and possibly pre-packaged. The chicken was dry and underseasoned, while the octopus, though tender, lacked any real flavor. The jarret d’agneau was acceptable, but pairing it with plain boiled pasta was a mismatch. Across the board, the biggest issue was lack of seasoning and balance. As for service, training and communication need serious improvement. In my case, I skipped the main course and ordered a Caesar salad, but the server didn’t mention that it would be charged at full price. When I brought it up, his response was simply, “You are a big group,” followed by a shrug. That kind of interaction makes guests feel disregarded. Overall, while there were glimpses of potential the gnocchi being one the menu needs a full review, with a focus on simplicity, seasoning, and consistency. The service team would benefit from more training on guest communication and attentiveness. With refinement, this could be a much better dining experience, but as it stands, it was disappointing.

This place is okay, but it's not authentic. The octopus was really good, but very small portion. The calamari was okay, nothing special, there was no tentacles. The truffle pasta was okay also and the risotto dish came with a big piece of Osso bucco, was not expecting to have a big piece of Osso bucco, I thought it would be bone off. But I can say that the creme brulee was really good The service was actually amazing, the waiter was really friendly. I had ordered an espresso martini with my dessert but they had forgotten to put khalua in it and it taste horrible, when I told the waiter about it he was doubting me on why I wanted to return the drink back but then he realized that it was the khalua that was missing in the drink, he brought me khalua in a glass so I can mix it in my drink. This place seemed to be more of a place for groups, they had private rooms. If you are celebrating a birthday party or a big get together in Laval with Italian type of food, I think it's a good choice.

Went on a weekday evening, hardly anyone there but yet the service was lacking. Caesar salad was made with green lettuce instead of romaine. Became very soggy. Plates did not look nice. Steak was very hard to chew. Where was the veggies in the shrimp and veggies dish? Cold and tough shrimp. And the ravioli was just ok. I expected so much more from this restaurant. I was not impressed at all. Did not finish plates. Sprinkling tomatoes does not make a plate look nice..

Nestled in Laval, Restaurant Le Pirate de Laval offers a delightful dining experience that transports you to the high seas with its elegant pirate ship-inspired decor. Since opening its doors in 1976, this family-owned gem has become a beloved fixture in the local culinary scene. Guests can indulge in an exquisite blend of Italian cuisine and fresh seafood, all served within a charming atmosphere adorned with oil paintings and plush fabrics.
Amazing 6 course meal for a birthday gathering. We had so much food! bread, pasta, salad, prosciutto, roasted vegetables, calamari and a main course of either salmon, steak or lamb. The staff was amazing and the atmosphere was great. A little tight as there were alot of people but the accordian player really added to the overall atmosphere. It felt more like a family gathering than a restaurant. The bathrooms could use a renovation but were clean. I personally loved everything but the salad and I found the pasta a bit doughy but the pasta sauce was tasty. Everything else was fresh, plentiful and delicious...especially the lamb. My wife didn't like the rice that came with the salmon and she also found the pasta to be just ok. She said the salmon was amazing and really liked the roasted vegetables. I cannot comment on the cost as we were treated to dinner but the overall experience was great. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a great evening of food and entertainment. Our meal was almost 4 hours long as there was 6 courses plus some time for tea.

We had the chance to enjoy the fine dining experience at the restaurant to celebrate our engagement a couple months back. Today we had Le Pirate cater our son’s baptism reception. The food was delicious. Our guest were very pleased and nearly all went back for seconds. You can’t go wrong.

Held my son’s first birthday at Le Pirate, and we couldn’t have asked for better food and service for the price. Thanks to Alex for making this a family memory.

We absolutely love this wonderful gem of restaurant. The food is fantastic and the service is outstanding. Gino is the main man. Service with a smile and a laugh. We’ve been here on many occasions and the quality of the delicious plates has been solid and consistent with every visit. We look forward to every family occasion here.

The food was wonderful. Service impeccable. The menu was set but they even made changes for me at no extra cost. Nice to see that this is o e restaurant that has not changed after so many years.

This was my first time at this restaurant and i have to say from the outside not impressive but once you get inside i was impressed very clean and nice atmosphere. The staff was very nice and friendly and gave us good service. The food was great i had probably one of the best rib steak i ever had from restaurant it was good melted in your mouth. There dessert was also very good. We were 10 peoples and we all had a great time also we had 3 young children and we made them share one pasta plate and unlike other restaurants they didn't give us hard time about it which is very nice. There was a few hiccups but nothing major mostly my son got is lasagna way after us we were almost finish and they didn't have some desserts we wanted to have but like i said nothing really negative here. Will be back for sure .

Right off the bat, the place looks unassuming from the outside. But inside, you're brought into what feels like you're on an actual ship. The atmosphere is the best part about this place. The food and service was mediocre at best. In one word, our food was "okay". The lobster tasted fine, but you get very little meat. The linguine was fine. The gnocchi was straight-up not good. Very doughy. The calamari, on the other hand, was pretty good and the arancini wasn't bad. We've heard great things about this place, so we'll be willing to give it another go with different dishes.

Very good service. The waiters and watiteress were very kind and nice to us and the family. We had the place to ourselves for a private event. The only I thing I did not like was the lighting of the restaurant. I found it a little bit dark. And the room for us guest was very tight. Not that much room to move around. And also in the bathroom for ladies there is no changing table for the baby. I had to lay my nephew on the sink. But other then that the food was great. The wine was great. Very nice cuisine Italian food. And the restaurant was very beautiful. I loved the theme that it's a boat.

TOWNE380 Steakhouse is a relaxed yet sophisticated dining establishment that offers a wide range of delectable dishes, including steak, seafood, and pasta. Additionally, they boast an extensive selection of wines to complement your meal. The ambiance is highly regarded by customers who appreciate its inviting atmosphere. While the food receives positive feedback overall, some feel that it falls slightly short of being exceptional considering the high price point.
This restaurant is Laval’s Best kept secret! Our Dinner, the service & ambience was exceptional. We had a pre-anniversary dinner of caesar salad, surf & turf paired with a perfectly recommended wine. Thank you to the staff for a memorable experience. For those of you who haven’t attended, why wait till 2025 for the greatest dining experience reserve today you will be very surprised!

We came here for Mother’s Day, and while the service was excellent, the overall dining experience didn’t quite match the level of other top steakhouses in Montreal. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the different steak cuts and even plated the food for us when it arrived, which added a nice touch. To start, we ordered the crab cake, lobster dumplings, Cesar salad and huîtres Rockefeller. The crab cake was unfortunately too salty, and while the other appetizers were fine, none were particularly memorable. For mains, we had the 32 oz Kansas and 12 oz New York steaks. Both were fine but lacked the depth of flavor and tenderness you’d expect at this price point. The sides included sweet potatoes, lobster mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and mushrooms. They were rich and comforting, but nothing stood out. The sauces (réduction de veau au porto and béarnaise à la truffe) were flavorful but didn’t elevate the steaks as much as we’d hoped. Before dessert, our tablecloth had been stained with sauce from our plates, and the waiter kindly covered it with clean cloths, which was a thoughtful gesture. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake, “apple of my pie,” and the T360 cookie. They were good overall, though nothing we’d go back for. The chocolate cake, in particular, was disappointing. It was mushy and far from decadent. The bill came to around $600, which felt steep for food that didn’t quite deliver. It was a pleasant evening with attentive service, but the food didn’t quite meet expectations for a special occasion.

Towne 380 Steakhouse, what a night to remember! 😍❤️ From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. Our waiters were so warm, kind, and genuinely caring, greeting and leaving us with hugs and kisses on the cheek that made us feel right at home. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it meant so much to all of us 🥰 We were celebrating a surprise engagement for our dear friends, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make the night feel extra special, every detail, every interaction, was filled with care!! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-tier. You can feel the love in the atmosphere, a beautiful mix of elegance and heart!! Still reminiscing about this special and beautiful evening!! The entire evening was unforgettable, and I’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Towne 380, for making such a special night even more magical! Thank YOU 🌹✨

Thank you to Alfonzo for the excellent service and exceptional attention to make our experience at Town 380 unforgettable! We enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning soon! We highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for quality food and beautiful ambiance! This was not our first time dining here and definitely not our last. The staff was very welcoming and professional! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

I want to start by saying that this restaurant offers the best service in the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area. The staff and managers are extremely friendly and thoughtful — they consider every detail to please their customers. I was there for my boyfriend’s 25th birthday (Reggie), with a group reservation, and we were greeted in the best possible way. To my great surprise, the menu included a quote that commemorated the occasion perfectly. Alfonso was our waiter, and he went above and beyond — from serving us to taking our group photos. Honestly, if you’re looking for a place to celebrate birthdays, weddings, baptisms, or any other special event, this is the place to do it in Laval! I will be coming back for future occasions! Thank you again!!

36Seau de Crabe (LAVAL)

Cajun restaurant
Seafood restaurant
I have been to Seau de Crabe in Laval with my family twice now, and each visit has been a hit from start to finish! The food is full of flavour, the atmosphere is lively, and the customer service is outstanding, especially thanks to Joanna, the manager, who truly goes above and beyond. She is attentive, kind, and made sure we felt welcome and taken care of both times. On our first visit, we ordered the Family Bucket with their signature sauce—a rich, buttery, garlicky blend that coats the seafood perfectly. We also tried the seafood pasta, calamari, dynamite shrimps, and a kids meal. I was amazed when my son, who’s usually a picky eater, finished everything on his plate! That says a lot. The second time, we went with the Sea Fest Bucket, again with the signature sauce because it’s just that good. I could not resist ordering the seafood pasta again—the sauce is so creamy and flavourful, it’s a dish I would come back for on its own! Both visits were consistent in quality and care, and the staff makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you are craving fresh, well-seasoned seafood and a team that takes care of you, Seau de Crabe is a must-try in Laval. Looking forward to visit #3! Merci beaucoup!

We visited Seau de Crabe as a family and really enjoyed the experience overall. The service was excellent, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The seafood was fresh and flavorful. We ordered the Seau des délices royales (which came with 2 lobster tails, 16 shrimp, and 8 mussels) and the shrimp, calamari, and fries combo. Everything was delicious, and my son absolutely loved the meal, especially the shrimp. The concept is fun with the bibs and gloves, and it’s definitely a hit with kids. The seasoning leaned more towards buttery than spicy Cajun, but it worked well. The shrimp and mussels were packed with flavor. The calamari was a bit chewy but nicely seasoned. My only real critique is that the food wasn’t as hot as I would have liked when it arrived, which took a bit away from the overall experience. Still, it’s a great spot if you’re craving a seafood feast in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

If you’re a seafood lover, I highly recommend giving this place a try—you’ll get your money’s worth with the quality, taste, and service. The staff were also friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere added to the overall experience. I would like to commend the manager madam Joanna for providing excellent service. Definitely a spot I’d come back to again! 😊

Great food, great pricing. Awesome experience. We tried this restaurant for the first time in May 2025 and we truly enjoyed our meal. We had the family bucket and there was more than enough for all of us. Everything from shrimp, to crab, to lobster, rice, potatoes, corn, calimari and mussels. Absolutely delicious!!! $189 plus tax for the 4 of us... great pricing. We would definitely return.

This is definitely a restaurant that makes it a lot more fun when it's a bigger group. It gives you the opportunity to order more things from their menu and try different seafood. Each item in their menu is quite a big portion and expensive, so it would not be easy to go in a smaller group. As much as the food was enjoyable, we had flies all over our table the whole night and it made the dining experience a lot less enjoyable. I was also hoping they would give out tools to crack the shells but they did not have any so we had to crack everything with our hands or our teeth. As fun as it is at first, it gets pretty tough by the end of it and I don't think that's any good for the teeth as well. The service was polite. They were also efficient but I feel like they were not welcoming nor friendly at all. The water was spilling on the table when it was served and the food was served by one of the waitresses that did not look happy at all. Throughout the whole night, no one checked on us and we didn't have a single refill of water from start to finish. I usually wouldn't mind but the problem was that the food was pretty salty. Even though the seafood was quite fresh and tasty, they were dunked in the same sauce that was flavourful at first, but the more you eat it, the more salty you realise it is and by the end of the meal, we were pretty tired of the flavour. Of course they had a sauce that came with the food to change the flavours from time to time, but for a 150$ item in their menu, I wish they would allow us to pick more than just one sauce.

We travelled all the way from Nova Scotia, where seafood is a big part of our culture and dining, and I have to say – Seau de Crabe in Mississauga completely blew us away! Hands down, this was the best seafood we’ve ever had. The seafood boil was incredibly fresh, packed with flavor, and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was mouthwatering, and the portions were generous, making it well worth the visit. The staff were so friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and perfect for enjoying with friends or family. As someone who grew up around amazing seafood, I can confidently say this place sets the bar high. If you’re in Mississauga and love seafood, this is THE spot. We’ll definitely be back!

Seafood is very fresh and tasty. If you like Cajun style seafood this restaurant is a good choice. We order a family seafood bucket/plate which come with fried calamari and shrimps. We also oedered a seafood pasta. They are good and sufficient to fill up the five of us. The only thing is the signature source we chose is a bit too salty to our taste.

If you're on the hunt for a seafood haven, look no further than Poissonnerie El-Marino. This charming spot is renowned for its fresh offerings and delightful dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. From perfectly grilled fish to mouthwatering calamari and shrimp, every bite is a celebration of flavor. The welcoming staff adds to the experience, ensuring you feel right at home as you savor their delicious meals. Don't miss out on their fried Merlan—it's light and flavorful!
Delicious and fresh... Make sure you call ahead of time to reserve a spot. Call in the morning to reserve for dinner if you wish. As it might be very busy in the kitchen. We ordered grilled fish, Calamari , fish fillets, grilled shrimp, and kebbe. All items were delicious and great. I recommend it 👍

If you are looking for a home food vibe, this restaurant gives you that. The food is really tasty, salads Fattoush and Tabboulé are freshly cut and prepared, the fish and calamari are not oily, the french fries are golden and not soggy, and the baked Dorado royal tasted really good. Owned by a Lebanese/Syrian midlife couple. If you are looking for a fancy place that's not the place, this restaurant is old style, you get served what is still available just like at your mom's kitchen since it's really busy preparing take out orders, so better call and book in advance if you want to sit in. Dania, the waitress/phone operator/one woman show received us with a smiling face. She's friendly and tried her best to make sure that we liked everything while answering the calls and getting the orders from the kitchen. In this restaurant, you can use Arabic instead of French or English if you like. As for the prices, we paid 115 cad for 2 people without the tipping, so this restaurant is a bit on the pricey side considering the whole experience. But we might come back since the food tastes good. One more point, the heat was not one and we kinda felt cold.
