Le Boating Club, located in Sainte-Rose, is a charming and cozy restaurant that was originally founded in 1889 and later relaunched in 2014 by a group of friends with ties to the original founders. The establishment offers a unique blend of history and modernity, creating an inviting atmosphere for visitors. With its welcoming terrace overlooking the Riviere-des-Mille-Iles, patrons can indulge in seafood specialties while surrounded by a decor that seamlessly combines historical elements with contemporary design.
This place is a gem! The drinks are very well made. The wine selection is very diverse and the food menu is very good too. The oysters are excellent, best I've had so far. As for the service, they take care of the clients for water refils, and asking how is everything often. The ambiance and the all around atmosphere are great. The decoration inside is awesome and the configuration of the space and seats makes it a cozy place to talk and enjoy food with a loved one or friends without being disturbed. There is a karaoke downstairs also. Will be back.

Came after the spa Finlandais for a quick bite, we were lucky to be served by Liane! She was great, very attentive and always present when you needed her. Very smiley and made the experience even better! We had the soup of the day, red cabbage and potato, gnocchi , burrata, and fried halloumi salad. We even indulged on the Sunday promotion for cocktail shrimp one dollar each! We ended the evening with a creme brûlée. Just delicious. No complaints here! Love the ambience and will be back soon.

Le boating club could be a very interesting experience with a few caveat. The food is well made, tasty and plentiful. They use fresh and good ingredients, with seasonal additions and adapt their menu for the season. The service is very good. Where the place falls apart is in the atmosphere department. It gets noisy and busy and they try to manage that by raising the music volume which adds to the overall chaos. They handle gluten-free people, but vegetarian beware, they have most pestacarian options but they have no purely vegetarian main.
Louis-David G — Google review
Always an amazing dining experience at the Boating Club. We came for husband’s birthday and were pleasantly taken care of by Leanne (sorry for the spelling). She offered an amazing dining experience, from food and wine suggestions to being super attentive. We had oysters, tuna tataki, braised beef and seafood orecchiette pasta. Been coming here for years and always an amazing dining experience.

One of my favourite restaurant in north shore ! The food is always fresh and for the quality on point ! A nice little spot to watch the hockey ! They have many tv’s and a projector
Captain — Google review
For our first visit to Le Boating we sat on the very zen terrace and enjoyed tasty mocktails, followed by crab cakes, swordfish and braised beef, and finally for desserts, the Milles Crêpes (spoiler - there are three) and carrot cake. Everything was exceptionally delicious and artfully plated. What a hidden gem in St 🌹 Rose
Kathy M — Google review
Lovely restaurant with creative fusion dishes at relatively affordable prices. The mushroom gnocchi is a must!
Danny K — Google review
This place was AMAZING I recommend a thousand times. The food was 10000/10. The whipped feta was to die for especially with the hot weather. The gnocchi OMGGGG we got two plates and we’d go back for these in winter for sure they were DELICIOUS. The service was so nice everyone kept checking on us and making sure we were satisfied. I’ll be going back for sure

New City Gas is a massive multipurpose venue located in an 1859 industrial space, offering a vibrant dance club experience in the heart of trendy Griffintown. The venue hosts a variety of events, from arts and live performances to EDM shows featuring international DJs. With its sprawling outdoor space and impressive selection of drinks, New City Gas provides an electrifying atmosphere for party-goers.
Got to experience Crankdat performing on the first 360⁰ stage at the venue, absolutely perfect stage setup for the venue. visuals were awesome, sold out show but still had room in the crowd, bar prices were decent and was not over heating. Enjoyed my first time going to NCG and it definitely won't be my last!
Seth J — Google review
The place was super duper crowded. You can barely dance. The club is huge and has fancy lights. Good crowd though. The staff is friendly. I would say pick and choose your DJ. We went with Camel Phat and was 3/5. Have seen much better lightening and sounds than this but it is worth a visit if you love partying. Drinks are $$$.
Harshil P — Google review
We visited New Gas City during a conference social event, and it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was fantastic with plenty of dancing , tightrope walker and an incredible DJ who kept everyone on their feet. One of the highlights of the night was the performance by the three aerial silk dancers, truly mesmerizing to watch. The food and drinks were excellent, adding even more to the experience. Everything was so well organized and created a fun. A fantastic venue for events.

⭐ New City Gas (NCG) Review – The Good, The Bad & The Overpriced I’ve had two very different experiences at New City Gas — one absolutely electric ⚡ and one that left me shaking my head. Let’s break it down: 🎉 The Magic Moments During a conference social event, NCG was nothing short of spectacular. The vibe was off the charts: • 💃 Non-stop dancing, a tightrope walker, and a DJ who kept the floor alive. • 🤸‍♀️ The aerial silk trio? Pure art in motion — hypnotizing to watch. • 🍸 Food & drinks were spot on, with smooth service and fair prices. • 🎶 Crankdat’s set on the first-ever 360° stage at NCG was a game-changer. Amazing visuals, perfect stage layout, and despite being a sold-out show, it didn’t feel suffocating. It was so good that I left thinking: “This is THE spot for epic events in Montreal.” ✅ ⸻ 😬 The Major Letdown Fast-forward to the G-Eazy show, and wow — what a contrast: • 🏚️ Layout? Felt like a hallway party. Nothing immersive, no wow-factor, and zero small touches to elevate the vibe (seriously, not even free popcorn). • 🥂 The so-called “VIP”? Just an elevated bar with $15K table quotes 🤯. Nothing luxurious, just overpriced and bland. • 🚨 Security? Hyper-focused on guarding VIP while missing a passed-out guest and even ignoring a harassment incident. It was the crowd that stepped in to help, not staff. • 💡 Lighting disaster: blinding spotlights on the audience most of the night. Unflattering, harsh, and a total vibe-killer. It felt like a mid-tier club wearing a high-end price tag — and failing to deliver on every promise. ⸻ 🎭 Final Verdict • When NCG is on its A-game: it’s unforgettable, artistic, and worth every dollar. • When it’s off? It’s a cash-grab dressed as luxury — and honestly, Rebel in Toronto makes it look amateurish. 👉 Would I go back? Yes — but only for select events where I know the production team is top-notch. Otherwise, hard pass. ⸻ 🔥 Overall Score: 7/10 (but split between a glowing ✨ 9/10 night and a disappointing 😒 4/10 show).
J P — Google review
Went to New City Gas for the G-Eazy show this weekend. While his performance was good, the venue itself was a major letdown. As someone used to going out at Rebel in Toronto—my home club—I couldn't help but compare, and unfortunately, New City Gas fell short in every way. The layout felt like a glorified hallway party. There was nothing immersive or engaging about the space: no photo-worthy walls, no performers or dancers to elevate the energy, not even small touches like free popcorn. The VIP section? Just an elevated bar platform with zero atmosphere. And yet, they were quoting $15,000 for a table beforehand—which is outrageous for what felt like the bare minimum. Nothing about that area said "exclusive" or "special," just overpriced and underwhelming. Security was hyper-focused on guarding the VIP area, yet somehow missed a girl who passed out at the front of the stage and a man who assaulted me near the side. It was the crowd—not staff—who stepped in to help. The lighting was also a huge miss. Whoever designed it thought it would be a good idea to shine a bright spotlight into the audience for what felt like the entire night. It was harsh, unflattering, and totally killed the vibe. If you're going to charge luxury prices, you need to deliver a luxury experience. This was not it. A cheap, mid-tier club pretending to be high-end. I won’t be returning.
Monique F — Google review
This is a really fun venue, I was here for a conference event, and had a really great time!
Daniel K — Google review
I’ve been to plenty of concert venues, and this was by far the worst. First off, we were told doors opened at 10pm, but we were left standing outside in below 32°F weather until 11pm. Then the opener dragged on for two hours. Once the venue started filling up, it became absolute chaos—there was zero crowd control. People just kept pouring in nonstop, and by the time I finally decided to leave, I could barely move, let alone make my way out. I had to shove through the crowd just to escape. At multiple points, I was literally stuck, unable to move an inch. Even as we left around 2am, more people were still being crammed inside. It was an obvious fire and safety hazard, and honestly shocking that no one has been trampled yet. Hands down the worst concert experience I’ve ever had. Would give less then 1 star if I could.
2Lenne — Google review
Right now I am writing this comment with my group of friends because what happened to us in this place was incredible. I can only say that it has been the worst experience we have ever had from the security personnel and the other workers. The security personnel are very rude and the coat check did not make sense, exactly because I had to enter my phone number and a photo of my face; in addition, I had a problem with the workers since they had a mistake and on top of that they had the nerve to speak badly to me until I got serious and they started treating me better

Night club
Lounge
Le Rouge Bar is a trendy 2-story nightspot located at the bustling corner of Prince-Arthur and Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal. With over 17 years of experience, this club offers a vibrant mix of original artists and popular hits, making it a hotspot for locals and visitors alike. The venue hosts various events catering to different tastes, such as the Heels & Rose night on Fridays with complimentary J.P Chenet bottles for early birds.
Le Rouge Bar is the perfect spot for an unforgettable evening filled with great music, great people, and an all-around vibrant atmosphere. It’s the kind of place you can count on for a good night. From the moment you walk in, the energy is contagious. The DJ keeps the vibe alive all night, and the staff truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The bartenders are quick, professional, and genuinely friendly. One standout is Nadine, she always serves with a smile, keeps the drinks flowing effortlessly, and brings such a positive vibe behind the bar that you can’t help but come back for more. Le Rouge Bar is a place that feels like your go-to night-out destination. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

Staff is horrible. They steal your coat and make your pay 4$ for it. When talking with the manager, he wanted to hear nothing and we had to pay. Worse night ever in Montreal, music was horrible and people in the club were not frequentable. It was also really expensive. Do not recommend at all. There are many better clubs nearby, even cafe campus is better

Every time I walk into Rouge Bar, I’m greeted with the warmest welcome !! it honestly feels like coming home. The vibe is always on point, thanks to the bartenders who not only mix great drinks but also bring amazing energy to the place. You can tell they love what they do. And I have to give a special shoutout to Mass🫶🏽 hands down the best host around. He’s got the magic touch when it comes to packing the place with the right crowd and making sure everyone is having a great time. Whether it’s your first visit or you’re a regular, he makes sure you’re taken care of. Rouge Bar is always a good time!!

Security refused to believe I was the same person on my ID. I've had no problem with that VALID piece of ID they just all acted like I looked nothing like my own image. Meanwhile some guys with their own vodka bottle from home were let in. Not to mention securty just watching as women are groped and manhandled by strangers. L staff.

My friends and I weren’t even planning on doing bottle service, but so glad we did, and even more glad we got Melissa. From the second we sat down, she made us feel completely taken care of, without it ever feeling forced or over-the-top! We loved her service, and we can definitely see ourselves coming back!

Rouge is such a vibe! Came here on Halloween and had the best time. Big shoutout to our waitress Melissa ! she was the absolute sweetest and made sure we had everything we needed, even with how busy it was. Definitely coming back!

bartender auto tipped herself 25%. Part of it is my fault for not saying anything when she handed me the machine with just the credit card tap button but no price was shown and i think it would be more respectful to let customers choose their own tip.

It hosts both global stars in techno and house music as well as local DJs like Cesar Romero, Kris Tin, and Alex Pycke. The club is located in the Village area of Montreal, alongside other popular spots like Circus and Cabaret Mado.
Stereo Nightclub in Montreal is widely considered one of the premier nightlife destinations in the city, and for good reason. Located in the heart of downtown, this underground haven is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience world-class electronic music in an intimate and high-energy environment. The dimly lit space creates an inviting vibe, and the layout is spacious, with multiple levels and areas to enjoy the music. The dance floor is the heart of the venue, but there are also cozy alcoves and a VIP section for those who prefer a more private experience. The overall ambiance feels exclusive yet welcoming, which adds to its allure. Sound System One of the standout features of Stereo Nightclub is its world-renowned Funktion-One sound system. It’s no exaggeration to say that the sound quality is among the best you’ll experience at any nightclub. The deep bass, crystal-clear highs, and rich mid-range frequencies create an immersive audio experience that perfectly complements the deep, driving beats of the music. Whether you’re on the dance floor or in a more relaxed spot, the sound is impeccable, surrounding you and drawing you into the rhythm of the night. Music & DJs Stereo Nightclub is first and foremost a venue for music lovers, and they are committed to providing top-notch performances from both local and international DJs. The club is known for its intimate vibe, allowing fans to get up close to the DJ booth and experience the music in an authentic, unfiltered way. Staff & Service The staff at Stereo Nightclub is efficient, friendly, and professional. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel taken care of. The door staff is welcoming, and security is discreet, ensuring a safe environment without being intrusive. The energy is always high, and you can expect a vibrant, dynamic atmosphere that keeps you going throughout the night. Location & Accessibility Stereo Nightclub is conveniently located in downtown Montreal, making it easily accessible by public transportation or taxi. Whether you're a fan of deep house, techno, or just looking for an unforgettable night out,
Joey B — Google review
I'm not really into electronic music, but I went with a group of friends. The service at the door wasn't very nice. Even though we had reserved 8 tickets, the doorman was in a bad mood and annoyed because we were all waiting to get in together. The man checking people in at the next entrance after going up the stairs in front of the clothing store yelled at us to say no jackets. Later, it became clear that jackets weren't required inside. The atmosphere was pleasant. Another interesting fact, and no less important for the reviews, is that THEY DON'T ALLOW YOU TO TAKE PHOTOS, MUCH LESS THAN VIDEOS! 🙄 REALLY??? What kind of nightclub in 2025 doesn't allow this? Well, here's an example. If you use it, they'll kick you out. There's a sign that we didn't see at the entrance in front of the stairs because you're looking where you're stepping and not up (bad choice by the owner). Paying $75 per person and not being able to enjoy yourself the way you want. I didn't like it and I DON'T RECOMMEND IT. Too expensive to have your head buzzing and not be able to take souvenirs with your friends because they kick you out. But here's a part of the video we were able to capture. 🤪🤭
Natu R — Google review
This is a nice underground club with a great apace and incredible sound system. Having said that it's heavily shirtless (if you're into that scene), the staff is not friendly, they will take away any gum you have on you, and they don't serve alcohol (you can't bring your own). There's a really fun dive-karaoke bar around the corner, lots of fun.
Eric S — Google review
Incredible club. Outside of Montreal I've gone clubbing in New York, Miami, Ottawa, and Boston, and this place is incredible and stands up great in comparision. No fancy production, no fancy decor, just a great atmpostphere, and it works for them. I think there's a reason they've been in business for almost 30 years. Best under the radar spot in town when you need a spot to dance for after hours. Coming here for Markus Shculz marathons is a must, that was one of the best shows I've been to in my life. As someone who has been to simlar spots like Club Space in Miami I'd put this right up there on atmosphere. Excited for many more nights here! Let's drag in Carl Cox soon!
Craig A — Google review
Amazing sound system and some of the nicest staff in Montréal. The lady at coat check is a gem! I left my phone there by accident, and both security and coat check staff made sure it was safely returned. Very Berlin-ish vibes all around!
Harsh G — Google review
Overall, the experience was terrible. I went for the Halloween event and paid $50 per ticket, and they don’t even sell alcohol. The music and DJs were the only decent part, because everything else was a mess. The bouncers were rude and disrespectful, the staff was needlessly aggressive, and the bartender demanding a tip for an $8 water was unbelievable. She actually cancelled the transaction when I chose the no-tip option for a bottle she barely even had to reach for. Not to mention the fact you cant take any photos or videos inside the place!
Zachary Z — Google review
If not the, one of the best sound systems I have experienced while clubbing. The space is great – clean, comfortable couches and staff is super friendly. I really appreciate the no photo and no video policy – it really keeps the vibe of clubbing which I love. If you love house/techno music, it is a must at least once in your lifetime. I traveled from Long Island, New York and it was worth it. Thank you Stereo for a magical experience.
Peechee C — Google review
There is a reason (((Stereo))) is often mentioned as one of the best clubs in North America and even the world. Before going you must know a a few things. Stereo is not you typical club with loud people, dress codes and bottle service. This is a temple of sound and an afterhours club. If you aren't into techno and house music - this place is not for you. NO ALCOHOL is sold here which means that there aren't (many) annoying drunks. If you want the drunken vibe - this is not it. Strict NO PHOTOS or VIDEOS POLICY means that you can actually relax and be yourself. You don't need to worry that you'll end up in someone's reel without your consent. This also means that the dancefloor is concentrating on the actual music and not IG selfies. This is refreshing and makes me think of all the iconic clubs in Berlin. Put your phone away and enjoy the moment. No chewing gum is allowed, they will confiscate it at the door. Stereo has amazing wooden floors and it's such a blessing that it's free of sticky gum. Bring mints if you want something refreshing. Last but not least - this is probably one of the safest and most welcoming dancefloors in Montreal. Most (if not) all people there come for the music specifically, and it shows. Big smiles. Folks of all shapes, ages and genders :) With its custom built famous sound system, some of the best International and local DJs and a very respectful patrons - Stereo is a legendary venue and a must attend for everyone who is into electronic music.

Casa Del Popolo is a vibrant hub of indie music and arts in the Plateau and Mile End neighborhoods. The cafe-bar offers a budget-friendly vegetarian menu and an impressive selection of draft beers. Additionally, its cozy atmosphere and leafy rear terrace make it a perfect spot for enjoying drinks before catching a show. Founded by members of Godspeed You!
Very nice customer service. Meals are done for like roughly 10 minutes. It's one of the healthier choices among some die-hard vegan fans. Flamenco performance is one example to show some awesomeness.

I’ve only ever had good times and good food here. I went for tacos today and liked the pleurote and jacquiers ones. There are a lot of vegan options so I’ll be back. The bartender was rude at first so I assumed she was having a hard day. I gave her a good tip anyway, I don’t know if she saw. she warmed up to me afterwards 💗 and asked me to give feedback about the food so I said the tofu tacos I ordered were too spicy and she said she’d pass the word to the chef 👩🏻‍🍳
R M — Google review
I really appreciate vegan options and theirs were very good. Portions are on the smaller side. The concert area is extremely small and intimate, I felt bad for the bands performing for only a handful of people, but I also felt privileged. They have a lot of great beers and delicious cider.

. The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming. The staff were curtious and professional. The food was fine and filled my belly. Thank you. Then we went to see our friend perform in the room next door. It was a bit chilly in there so we kept our coats on but the performance was A1.

Been coming here for twenty years. Wifi and credit cards have changed the vibe ever so slightly but all in all good changes. Always interesting music and the recent editions to the (always) vegetarian or vegan menu are great. I love the tofu salad and the new al pastor tacos.

I would’ve liked to see a larger menu, but what we did have was very good. For purchase, there was live music in the back that was amazing!

Nice ambiance in the restaurant and the adjacent live music bar and stage is very well insulated. You can almost not hear the music from the restaurant even though the music can get quite loud. Went to see some live music and really enjoyed ourselves.

Amaaaazing concert venue for the metal, punk, and alternative genres in Montreal. This venue really is the heartbeat of the music scene here. Had a blast at the show with "Settle for Sleep"

First time here with my friend they had their happy hour 5-7. Which only included very limited options with basic alcoholic beverages... knowing what to order without it having 2 alcohols was fun -..- I took a gin tonic that barely tasted like gin...I thought let's give it a chance...then a Campari with soda...omg it tasted like water...we were so disappointed....the cider was worth it...for the happy hour. The only thing worth it. The service was just ok. The waitress explained what we could order...They came to remove our glasses...never asked if we needed anything we had to call them a couple of times when we wanted to order. I didn't like the service tbh. And neither did my friend. My last drink was taken away when it was half full in front of my face and I was so shocked no one asked if I was finished...I won't go back unfortunately. If you're going to have a $5 drink and it's all watered down..I'd rather go elsewhere I'm sorry.

Good shows, good drinks! Love the atmosphere of this place and the staff is so friendly. The doorman is also great and does a great job and keeping turbo haus a safe and enjoyable environment for all.

I went there with friends and the doorman was so nice, I shook his hand and he thanked us for being so respectful, the staff was great in general, we left generous tips to bartenders for being so professional and the cocktails were absolutely delicious, even the alcohol-free drinks were incredible. My favourite bar, we had a blast at the thursday night karaoke and we plan on coming back even just for quiet drink or dates. Thank you Turbo Haus!

Walked in by accident, there happened to be a band playing in less than twenty minutes so we stayed for a drink and watched the show. The band was great and the drinks were good and reasonably priced. The bar had a very interesting personality as well. I'd go again!

I have never met staff this rude in my entire like. Feels like you're bothering them when asking for a drink, they take time to chit chat with their colleagues before answering custumers, and don’t seem to grasp the basic concepts of costumer service, such as respect and kidness. The tables were sticky and wet, and the drinks are expensive while tasting like watered down juice. 10/10 would not recommend, unless you're into getting degraded

I always have a great time at open mic nights here! Affordable drinks and free entry makes for a good spot for students/lower income folks like me to come have a good time at a reasonable price! the performers are always insanely talented I’m amazed by the talent here in montreal every time I come by to hear them jam

Best place for a vibey night out. The performers freestyle and dance, and crowd is really fun. Every Wednesday is packed. The last Saturday of every month is disco night, and it’s really fun. No cover charge. Drinks are $10-$14. They check ID at the door.

An unforgettable night at Casino de Montréal! The ambience, architecture, and waterfront views were absolutely stunning — especially during the night. The entrance bridge lit up beautifully, and the overall vibe was vibrant yet classy. Even if you don’t play, it’s worth visiting just for the lights, the energy, and the scenic walk along the water. Highly recommended if you’re in Montreal!

I had a great group experience visiting the largest casino in Canada. The games are plentiful and exciting, the atmosphere is incredible, and the free soda-coffee-juice bar is fantastic. The casino is relatively clean and the music there is fantastic unlike clubs and other casinos.

Nice décor. The weekends it's lively often with shows and such. Free drinks bar self serve (soft drinks, coffee). Booze is at the bar $ The arcade is meh, more expensive than elsewhere with a card and pt system. You can redeem pts for some cheapie toys or snacks. Not enough cheaper table or digital ones for stuff like blackjack where there is still a little bit of a social aspect of playing with other real people. Can get a little lost and confusing in there. There is also a place to buy food and a canteen.

Gorgeous casino. Truly a marvel to see. Tons of games. Tons of slots. My only gripes are that the only crabs table isn't a conventional crabs table. It's digitized. The other gripe is you don't get free drinks while gambling. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in Montreal though. Very cool!

A must see if you are in Montreal. I was slightly disappointed that the glass floors with water and fish swimming below us was completely removed ( that was 30 years ago). We still had a great time. Place is clean and is one of the nicer looking casinos I have been to. Tip: People wear comfortable clothes. I have seen jeans, T-shirts and running shoes although many people still like to dress up. Keep the place classy by dressing up if possible. 😉

Irish pub
Pub
Hurley's Irish Pub is a charming establishment located in Downtown Montreal, offering a cozy atmosphere with its brick-wall and carved-wood setting. The pub features a patio where patrons can enjoy beer on tap, single malts, and delicious grub while soaking in the lively ambiance. Spread across two floors, the upper level provides an ideal space for drinks and conversation, while the lower floor hosts regular nightly programming such as folk artists, Irish musicians, and open mic nights.
Stopped in looking for a good bar seat and some solid food, and this place hit the mark. After checking out a few other pubs in the area, this one had the right vibe—welcoming, relaxed, and just lively enough without being overwhelming. The bartender greeted me quickly and had a cold beer in front of me within minutes. I ordered the crispy chicken wrap and, as someone who takes crispy chicken very seriously, I can say it was absolutely top-tier—hot, flavorful, and perfectly crispy. There was some live music starting up in the back (fiddle, guitar, vocals) that added to the charm, though I couldn’t stick around as long as I wanted. Wish I had! All in all, great service, great food, and a really nice atmosphere. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.
Robert M — Google review
Hurley's Irish Pub has long been a Montreal favorite, and my recent visit reminded me why. Catching up with an old friend over a couple of pints, I was reminded of the pub's enduring charm. Stepping into Hurley's is like stepping into a traditional Irish pub. The decor is warm and inviting, with plenty of dark wood and cozy nooks. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. While Hurley's offers a menu of traditional pub fare, we were there for the Guinness. And Hurley's certainly delivers on that front. The Guinness was perfectly poured and tasted just as it should. But Hurley's is more than just a place to get a good pint. It's also a great place to catch up with friends, relax after work, or enjoy some live music. The atmosphere is always lively and convivial, making it a great spot for a night out. If you're looking for an authentic Irish pub experience in Montreal, Hurley's is definitely worth a visit. Just be warned, it can get busy, especially on weekends. But that's just a testament to its popularity.
Brandan J — Google review
Busy busy weekend and Hurley's was packed..found. A seat for the game and enjoyed an entertaining evening of all sorts for a few hours. Service was slow, staff was short but in the end they delivered. Food was ok for an Irish pub but not all felt that way since they closed the kitchen halfway through the night due to volume. Beer made it better that point. This bar is full of books and crannies all over the place, live music multiple bars and patio. Definitely need to check it out
ScottF — Google review
I recently visited Hurley’s Bar in Montreal for the first time, and my experience was definitely memorable—especially since I went on Saint Patrick’s Day. If you’ve ever been in Montreal on this holiday, you know the streets are packed, and Hurley’s was no exception. To add to the excitement, it was also the 200th anniversary of the parade, making the bar incredibly lively, with a festive atmosphere that you can only get when live music, a fun crowd, and plenty of green combine. The vibe was spot-on for the occasion, filled with a mix of locals and tourists all in high spirits, enjoying the parade and soaking up the Saint Patrick’s Day energy. The atmosphere at Hurley’s was fantastic. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the sound of lively Irish music. The place was buzzing, but not overwhelmingly so—it had the perfect balance of energy, making it feel like a classic pub experience where everyone was there for a good time. The crowd was friendly and there was a genuine sense of community, adding to the festive spirit. As for the food, I opted for a smash burger and poutine—two quintessential bar snacks. The burger was solid. The patty was juicy with crispy edges from the smash technique, fresh toppings, and a soft bun. While it wasn’t a game-changer, it hit the spot, especially with a cold beer in hand. The poutine was equally satisfying. The fries were crispy, the gravy was rich and flavorful, and the cheese curds had the perfect squeak. It wasn’t the best poutine I’ve had in Montreal, but it definitely met my expectations and satisfied my cravings. That said, I found the food a bit overpriced. At $10 for the burger and $10 for the poutine, the portion sizes felt a bit small for the price. Of course, I understand you’re partly paying for the location, the vibrant atmosphere, and the experience—especially on a high-energy day like Saint Patrick’s Day. While the food was enjoyable, it wasn’t extraordinary, but it certainly did the job in satisfying hunger and adding to the overall experience. In conclusion, Hurley’s Bar in Montreal is a great spot for anyone looking to experience a lively and festive atmosphere, especially on Saint Patrick’s Day. The food is solid, the live music is a great touch, and the energy of the place makes it a fun spot to soak in the holiday spirit. I’ll definitely be back—but next time, I’ll probably visit when it’s a bit less packed.

Great pint of Guinness, up there with the best I’ve had in North America. Food left a bit to be desired, certainly not bad, but not great. We had the chicken wrap, burger and poutine and overall it was lacking a bit of quality, but again, it was not bad. Service was good.

'Twas long ago, my last visit to this blessed place (early 90's), though every time think back to it, have a smile on my face and a song or two in my heart. Was worth the drive up from Maine to just be there, soaking in the live music on the weekends and enjoying the conversations with dear old friends, that you just met. At one point, copies of a few of the poems I wrote there, on bar napkins, used to hang on the wall. While I live in the west, now, and no longer drink spirits, if I am ever back Montreal way, will stop in again, and hope to make some new fond memories to add to those of before.

The food is classic pub food but quite decent. The atmosphere is charming and the waiters super cool. We went for comedy night and it was cozy and fun. Cobb salad was ok, the sweet potato fries were a massive bucket with curry mayo sauce that was yummy. The smoked meat sandwich was small but good. Would go again for drinks and entertainment :)

Jazz club
Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill is a popular spot located downtown in Montreal, featuring diverse live jazz performances and jam sessions. The semi-basement venue hosts local acts like drummer Jim Doxas, blues singer Dawn Tyler Watson, and jazz icon Ranee Lee, as well as international musicians. Recognized by Downbeat Magazine as one of the world's 150 most important jazz clubs, it offers a vibrant atmosphere with live music five nights a week.
Make sure to make a reservation for an hour before the show is meant to start so you have time to order and eat your food (we got there for 06:30pm for a 7:30pm jazz show on Wednesday night). The seating is very close and cozy and you are able to chat before the show starts but won't be able to (and shouldn't!) once the show starts. The jazz was up close and personal and VERY GOOD! If you are looking for a cozy and authentic night of jazz in Montreal you won't be disappointed with Upstairs. The food was really amazing! It is VERY reasonably priced, a fairly large serving, and surprisingly fancy! Like I said the place is very cozy so the serving staff are side stepping quite gracefully between the tables, and never stop moving, but expect a bit of a wait for your food if it is a full house.
Michelle K — Google review
The reviews of this club are all over the place, some are unfairly critical. It’s a lovely and intimate place to enjoy live jazz music. Intimate means it’s small and crowded, that’s why they offer multiple seatings. It’s a really great way to enjoy the music! The food was delicious, but with it being small and crowded, of course service may seem slow. To avoid that, come early and eat prior to the music so you can relax with an after dinner drink while listening to some of the best live jazz in town.

Cozy place with a lot of character. Brick walls, candlelight, a grand piano by the window - everything sets the mood just right. The music is good, the staff is kind, and it's just a nice spot to relax.. We only had one evening in Montreal - and we’re glad we spent it in this jazz bar.

Like many jazz clubs, many people in a small place. Two of us booked rez late for 9:45 show on a Fri night, so were only able to get seating at the bar. On arrival they were delayed in turnover from 7pm show, so patrons for 9:45 show were standing outside til 9:30 not quite knowing what was going on. Hostess was wonderful and we all got seated. Bar space is shoulder to shoulder and on high stools angled at 90 degrees to stage. While you can manuever head to see the stage thru other heads, being twisted at 90 degrees was tough on my back. The sound system was excellent and all seats are close to stage with space being small. Having one of first 5 bar stools would be much better. The bartender was excellent and fast being right in front of you. We saw Dawn Tyler Watson Quartet and found ourselves lucky to stumble upon such an amazing voice with excellent musicians for such a small price. Show was 75 minutes, with every bit of it enjoyable. Get a table and you will love this place.

First time checking out Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill on a late Sunday night. There's up to 3 sets with cover ranging from free to $15.00. The inside is intimate, dimly lit with a mix of seat options. Checked out a 10pm show (free cover) that featured a quartet but the show was only 35 min. Ordered a Belle Gueule blonde ($5.00) and Sauvignon blanc ($10.00). 3.5 stars.

We’ve been to Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill around fifteen times over the years, and it remains one of our favorite spots in Montreal for live music. The atmosphere is always inviting, intimate, warm, and with that unmistakable charm that makes jazz feel alive and close. The lineup is consistently strong, from local talents to seasoned performers, and the sound quality in the room is fantastic. The beer is good but the selection is not solid, same for food is good, though I’d love to see the menu refreshed from time to time (perhaps every couple of years) just to keep things interesting. The current dishes are well-prepared, but the variety could be a bit broader. Still, the overall experience more than makes up for it: good service, great music, and a cozy setting that never loses its appeal.
Iustin D — Google review
Great venue for an intimate jazz experience. Food was good (had salmon and it was excellent, others in party had burger, steak and quesadilla which they said were ok) and service was better than expected after reading mixed reviews about service. Biggest issue was very talkative table next to us which took away from the experience. We would have liked to see servers address the talking as it escalated until the end of the show and that was even after someone in our party asked them to be quiet. Overall a fun experience and will definitely recommend to others.

(4.5/5 if I could!) Don’t let the name fool you... Upstairs Bar & Grill is actually downstairs! I got in last-minute off the waitlist for a seat at the bar, and I’m so glad I did. The vibe is lively and welcoming, with very friendly fellow patrons (definitely a late Gen X/Boomer crowd overall; think relaxed, music-loving regulars rather than rowdy kids). Service was warm and personable; it was a packed house so things were a little slow, but totally understandable and handled with grace. Food was a standout: I had the salmon salad and it was fantastic. Great value, flavourful, clearly a well-thought-out menu overall. Drinks were also on point: I enjoyed a well-balanced dirty vodka martini made with a new-to-me top-shelf vodka, and the wine selection looked solid. The space was completely packed, which speaks to how popular it is, though part of me wished there had been room to dance. Can’t have it all, I guess! Would definitely go back for the atmosphere, the food, and that martini. Highly recommend grabbing a bar seat if you can snag one.

House of Jazz Laval is a swanky nightspot that offers Canadian cuisine, wine, and live jazz in an elegant, old-fashioned setting. The establishment boasts eclectic decor with a mix of Paris and New Orleans influences, featuring a large chandelier. Specializing in barbecue, it guarantees visitors a satisfying experience for both body and soul. With rotating musicians performing, it's an excellent choice for a date night or a fun evening out with friends.
We had an amazing time at House of Jazz in Laval for a group party! The atmosphere was fantastic—live music set the perfect vibe for an unforgettable night. One Love Project was hosting the musician jam night, and the talent on stage was incredible. The mix of musicians kept things fresh and exciting, making for a truly special experience. Beyond the music, the ambiance of the venue is something else! The chandeliers and unique decor give the place a vintage, upscale feel that makes it stand out. It’s a setting that feels both elegant and lively, perfect for a night out. The food and drinks did not disappoint! Their burger was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were well-crafted and hit the spot. The service was friendly and attentive, making sure our group had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a place with great live music, a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, and fantastic food and drinks, House of Jazz is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a great time at The House of Jazz! The food was absolutely delicious and the cocktails were amazing — perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Although our reservation wasn’t honored as expected and we were seated upstairs in a more hidden area, the staff made it up to us with two rounds of shots, which we really appreciated. The live show was truly impressive and full of energy, adding so much to the overall experience. That said, the space does feel a bit overwhelming — there’s a lot going on visually, which can make it hard to fully relax and take it all in. Still, the combination of great food, drinks, and music makes it a unique spot worth visiting!

Came here to celebrate a birthday with 30-40 other people in which we all had been seated on the second floor which makes sense due to the size of the group. The food was pretty good but not the best. It's unfortunate some of our food was served somewhat on the colder side which wasn't nice. The steak was cooked well as well as the fish. The calamari was nice and crispy. The prices seem decent although a drop on the higher side especially for the fish.... Where things go a little downhill is, if a restaurant wants to have live music, please don't reflect the cost on the customers through a cover charge. I was surprised that it wasn't just put into the prices of the menu. Don't get me wrong, the music was great but just really really loud... I was seated on the second floor and i had to raise my voice to talk to people at the table.

Wow wow wow. Where do I even begin. This is the single best jazz club I’ve ever had the opportunity to go to. The place is simply fabulous and looks like it’s straight out of a movie of some kind. I was greeted by the owner and an employee and they accompanied me to my reservation spot. While we were going to the second floor where u was meant to enjoy my meal, I was able to take a quick glance around me and see a panoply of well decorated spaces with specific lights creating an even more interesting and jazzy atmosphere. I never would’ve thought a bright gem like that one could have been hiding right there in plain sight. We had originally made a reservation for 9 people and we had requested to be put in a little room. The room will be in the videos and it was gorgeous as well. I had been there before and never even knew that it existed. The staff came regularly to ensure we were all ready to order and just to see if there was anything they could help us with. The food took an average time of 27 minutes to arrive, and I must say that it is extremely impressive that it was done so quickly seeing as we had all ordered different kinds of meals and were still served at around the same time. My meal was well plated and the tastes simply embraced my tongue like a warm and nice hug. They were gentle and agressive, offering a wide array of various sensations and flavours which all complemented one another so perfectly. I was amazed. One thing that is important to note is the price of your entry. It was 15$ more per person because we had to pay for the band and frankly I’d have paid them much more for how good they played. Then there’s also something you must look at. Just make sure you are aware that the price of the shots are marked for individual shots and not for the whole round. One of my friends hadn’t picked up on that little subtlety and was quite shocked once the bill arrived. Other than that, excellent everything. I’m super glad I got to be there and enjoy myself with my friends. 10/10 would recommend

Went on july 6th for my bday ! I enjoyed my dinner. I love all types of music and performances so I was in my element! But this is not a place where you can invite anyone , especially if they are not fond of jazz or open minded... The food was ok. The drink was ok . Be careful with the 15$ band charge, they charge for each guests and that doesn't even cover the tips... In this economy, its a lil bit excessive for a none gastronomic restaurant. And restaurants with bands there's plenty like that in mtl and they dont charge for bands... Anyway, its a restaurant for special occasions but I'm not going to attend regularly... Nonetheless, I had fun!! The decor was amazing !!

It was my first time at House of Jazz, and I loved it. The décor is so amazing with all the chandeliers and lights. The staff were dressed in 20s-era clothes and they were so helpful and friendly. From appetizers to main dishes to drinks were all very delicious. It's pricey but worth it. Now, the musicians. They were so talented and entertaining. We sang along and danced along with them. My coworkers and I had a blast, and we will come back for sure.

Le Balthazar Centropolis is a lively and modern tavern offering a diverse menu with elevated bar bites and a wide selection of local beers. While some find the food to be a bit pricey, others rave about the delicious options such as the Green butterfly cocktail, crispy calamari, and fresh salmon tartare. The ambiance is enhanced by weekend live music, although some suggest that the volume could be adjusted for a more enjoyable experience.
Food was quite good, staff was super friendly , there was a lot of action! Patrons were of all ages and all looked nice, a really good casual atmosphere, I really liked this restaurant and I will definitely go back. We were a group of 14 and it would have been just as fun being 2 or 4. Great casual yet trendy place to eat out !

Edit: July 30th - WORST SERVICE EVER! We were three on the terrace, started with drinks at 6 pm. Never saw our waiter after. Our water glasses were empty. At 8 pm, I had to go see the barmaid to ask if our waiter could come to take our food order.... We asked him what the hell?! He said sorry and that he has a section inside. Ok, so neglect your outside section?! The table next to us was livid, they paid while eating and left. We ordered wine, food came. We had to go ask inside for water, and we just brought ourselves a pitcher to our table. I asked for mayo for the fries, never got it. Waiter never came back to check if everything was ok. By the way, our drink glasses still remained on the table, they were never cleared off. Finally, time to clear the dishes (10 pm!!!!), we asked for the bills. Faster lightning service ever. Arrived with the bills and the debit machine. Ridiculous. Went to Balthazar on Wednesday evening, terrace, party of 2. Made a reservation (not possible for the terrace, but when we arrived, we asked, and we were given a seat outside). Our waiter Jean-Philippe was awesome and on-the-ball. He promptly took our drink orders (pichet: Blanche du Paradis - excellent white beer beer). For the main course, we took the Salmon tartare - my friend took the Aloha: it has mango and pineapple (my kryptonite!); I took the Orange: it was with a sour cream mix, pieces of orange, and orange zest topping. I enjoyed mine, though I feel it was lacking in spices or tang (garlic salt or maybe coriander). The side I took was sweet potato fries. I understood it was a $2 extra, but it was in fact $4 which I find crazy considering the portion I received (little basket, picture makes it seem like there are more than there actually are)...The portions of the tartare dish and baked bread (lightly seasoned) were perfect. The service for the evening was great, we were never missing anything, we did not need to ask for anything. I would recommend!

The place is amazing. Spacious, clean, the staff is great (we had Audrey, which was on her first day on Sept. 20, but extremely caring and professional), and the food was tasty AND affordable. The only reason it doesn’t get a full 5 stars on atmosphere is that the music gets a bit too loud for my taste (but it’s probably ok for other people). Totally recommend this place, you will have a great time! 5/5 overall for sure!

Very bad service from Charlotte. I gave 0% tip (which was a first in my life). Food took 45 minutes. The poutine and the burger were cold.( LIKE ROOM TEMPRETURE) The bowl with the chicken and rice was COLD! The rice was FRIDGE COLD. (When asked, they told us that’s how it should be, but it was not mentioned in the menu that the rice is served cold.) As seen in the pictures, the menus stayed on the table for the whole duration of the dinner. My fork was dirty. During the whole dinner, we were assisted by other very kind servers, who saw our dirty plates and picked them up. She never came to pick up the dirty plates… she was not busy, she was chit-chatting with other older male customers while our food was sitting in the kitchen cooling down. After no tip was received, she made a scene at the table in the corner with all the other waiters, and all the other waiters looked at us. So then I asked for her name from another girl. This prompted her to come to our table. She asked me why no tip. I explained that the menus stayed on the table, no dirty dishes were picked up, no water was ever served, my fork was dirty, the food took too long, and all three plates were cold! She insisted that at least a 10% tip would have been appreciated… I’m sorry, this was a very bad experience and I was not going to tip and encourage this awful service. 0 service 0 professionalism 0 respect 0 food

Fun service, great drinks, and perfect for late-night munchies! This restaurant may have okay food, but the lively atmosphere and friendly staff make up for it. The drink selection is great and they know how to keep the good times flowing. Ideal spot for a late-night hangout with friends!

Went on Sunday night and sat outside. Wasn’t too cold and the speakers were placed far enough so it wasn’t too loud where we sat, and conversation was easy. They played really good music, old hits and whatnot. Our server was really funny and really brought our moods up. The food was great, calamari was really nicely seasoned, had the Balt burger (try subbing the mayo for barbecue, really good, also good on its own though). Food came out quick enough too.

I had a fantastic time at Dallas Bar, a sports bar that offers an array of enjoyable activities. If you are into karaoke, socializing with friends while enjoying a refreshing beer, or playing pool at reasonable prices, this is the place to be. The service provided by the amiable Laurence was exceptional. Additionally, Isabelle, the barmaid, was incredibly pleasant and easy to converse with.
Love the atmosphere..I was thrown a surprise bday party by my family we Had A Ball..Staff is friendly and could understand me even though I spoke only English ... It was a friday and karaoke was Great!! Manager Kayla is inone word Awesome!! Will definitely go back and will highly recommend to friends

Really enjoyed my time at Dallas bar, if you like karaoke, chilling with friends over a cold beer, playing pool for an affordable price an excellent service from the very friendly Laurence. Then go over Dallas Bar and see for yourself!

It is only a bar with a few games like pool, etc. No food at all, no french fries for example, easy to do in an air dryer (you do not even need a kitchen to prepare them).

I just got disrespected by the barmaid Kayla Dallas who tried to poke me to create problem while i was just picking up some one. She said she wouldn't serve me & I shouldn't be at this bar bla bla bla. She had disrespected 2 pretty girls i used to come with & she always create problems for no reason. I left as I refused to give her the attention she's seeking. But this is unacceptable from a barmaid to a client who worked there 4 years ago. Poor manners...

Pandora Supper Club is a delightful dining destination that promises an unforgettable experience. With its spacious layout and stunning decor, the ambiance is enhanced by thoughtful lighting that creates a warm atmosphere throughout the venue, including unique touches in areas like the washroom and coat check. Guests rave about the exceptional service provided by friendly staff members like Estella and Lily, who are eager to guide you through their delicious menu offerings. The food, particularly the steak, has received high praise for its quality and flavor.
One of the best places to be on weekends in Laval & Montreal area. The food was exquisite, the drinks top notch. Ordered the Tiradito for entree and the Salmon for main course, and they both exceeded my expectations. Alyssia the bartender offered an exceptional service and her passion fruit cocktail was to die for! Can’t recommend this place enough.

First time there and probably won't go back if it's not for a specific event. Chose the shrimp dish with manioc fries. It was ok. The Ceasars salad was a disgrace with the simili bacon and bland croutons. The steak was cooked as I'd asked (medium rare), but only served with fries, no vegetables or some sort of presentation. The dessert.....some items from the menu resembled Costco food...no offense, but the menu needs some love. The DJ started ok, but the crowd is way too young. Not my scene, so I'll leave it to the youngsters. The servers should let people know in advance after supper that the table will only be for bottle service customers. Did not liked that our group was asked to switch places when we had already spent a good amount there. Always room for improvement!

The venue was nice, good tunes, but service needs work. Not able to order a glass of wine, because a bottle hasn’t been open?! Not my problem. Being told that a business takes 8% from the tips from the waitress AGAIN not my problem. Mixed up orders , rushing to pay bills and the attitude is the reason we left. Instagram was miss leading.

One of the worst places ive been to and never going back. Waited at least 15 minutes at the bar for a drink, barmaids don't know how to prioritize and serve customers. Extremely expensive compared to other places with better atmosphere and much better service. One of the owners was behind the bar drinking and acting like a loser instead of helping out the staff. Don't waste your time.

Honestly wow! One of the best experiences I’ve had. Especially the bartender Ervin. I rarely have good experiences with bartenders, but he is exceptional. I wanted to try a different drink and he took the time to ask me what I usually like to make a special drink just for me. It was a great connection. If ever you need a drink, ask for Ervin!! He is top!

Food wasn’t exceptional but was cooked semi right, although they got the original order wrong a fair bit. Food came close to 11pm. Our reservation was at 8 ( just to give you an idea). One from our party left without eating because he had commitments (he would have eaten if they got the service right). Oh ya…. They ran out of wine…. The manager basically said “shit happens” and comp’d the table leamonchelo shots…

Had a wonderful time attending the Brit Floyd concert at Le Place De Arms. A beautiful, well organized venue with friendly people and clean facilities. Every seat was a good one and very comfortable. It wad easy to get to and we enjoyed our evening there immensely.

🎭 Overview & History Place des Arts officially opened in 1963 to transform Montreal into a cultural capital—the initiative of Mayor Jean Drapeau. Place des Arts is, in my opinion, one of Montreal’s greatest cultural gems. The area around it has evolved into one of the city’s most charming yet bustling sectors, with something to enjoy in every season. I can easily imagine how delighted tourists must feel when visiting. Its proximity to excellent restaurants and the metro (subway) makes it very accessible, though parking can sometimes be a bit tricky—but not enough to take away from the experience. I’ve attended numerous shows here, including Broadway productions, which are truly spectacular. My only real criticism is the sound quality, which isn’t always ideal. While many may overlook this, an acoustic overhaul would significantly elevate the entertainment experience and make this venue even more remarkable.
Stefano L — Google review
Saw 2 concerts in October. Mezzanine seats are too small. Also mezzanine seats don't have a unobstructed view (lighting fuxtures) of the screen images. It's something Place Des Arts should consider for people sitting higher (project images lower i n the screens) Parterre seats are ideal.

Les Foufounes Électriques, also known as "Foufounes Electriques," is a renowned alternative bar and venue in Montreal since 1983. The club has a punk rock vibe with low-lit ambiance and exposed-brick walls, offering frequent concerts, pool tables, and cheap beer. It's a popular choice for those who prefer live music over standard club fare.
This was one of the coolest venues I’ve ever been to, let alone played. The staff were all super nice and helpful, especially considering I don’t speak French. When I return to Montreal I will 100 percent come back and hangout here.
Robert H — Google review
Back in the 80’s, affectionately called in french “Les Foufs”, the venue was to Montreal what CBGB was to Manhattan in the late 70’s. The music was loud, beer was cheap and mohawks were dangerously spiky, to say the least. To the sound of Skinny Puppy, Bauhaus and Siouxsie and the Banshees, with my good friend Mark and way too many beers, this is where I celebrated my first car, a ruined-down AMC Renault Alliance that barely made it through the winter. Nowadays, I go back occasionally so to remember the spirit, reminisce with my old punker friends still working on their art projects since the 80’s, check out if my graffiti still entertain the toilets and hope the impossible mini-putt course that was under the stairs would one day rise from the graveyard. The venue, which was back then barely the size of a trunk, is now set over several floors, and might be a tad touristy (but a legend is a legend, so I’ll close my eyes on this last fact). With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating area, a mezzanine and 2 showrooms, you can still chill over affordable beer, and later, when the beer-buzz hits the right spot, pogo-slam your way across the dance floor and yell at everybody that you were one of the originals !... Or just show-off and pretend… Is punk dead ? No, it just got more comfortable and richer, ask Lydon !

We flew out to Montreal to see Moneen back in 2023 and it was the best time. Venue is great. The crowd was awesome because Moneen! There were some jerky people there though that kind of dampened the experience a bit, but it wasn’t the venue. They were just some obnoxious people that didn’t even really care for the bands. Can’t say anything about the food. We were only there for Moneen!!!!

Went for the wheatus concert this past Monday. While I showed up early I sat at the bar and waited. Extremely friendly staff. The bartender was so nice to me even though I didn’t order a drink. On top of that the music playing is really up my alley. Dad rock, 2000 punk/alt/emo. I’ll be back for that drink for sure. The venue is also huge. The show happened in a separate part of the building built just for shows. There was bar seating available down there as well as a bar and washrooms. Wheatus was insanely good, and the setup was comfortable, felt safe and relaxed.
Miree L — Google review
The mixologists behind the bar are so willing to listen and quickly build the exact drink that the punks and drunks are demanding, it's such a beautiful dynamic. Don't ask for a menu, be an adult. Go watch a show, have a pint, enjoy Montreal's biggest punk bar/showspace that's been around since the 90s.

If you're on the hunt for a vibrant nightlife experience in Montreal, look no further than Bistro à Jojo. This beloved late-night venue has been a cornerstone of the city's music scene since 1975, nestled in the lively Latin Quarter. With live performances every night, it’s an ideal spot to soak up some blues and rock vibes while enjoying a drink. The atmosphere is electric yet cozy, making it perfect for unwinding after a long day or kicking off your evening with friends.
A Night of Authentic Blues at Bistro à Jojo I had an amazing experience at Bistro à Jojo last night! The ambiance was warm and inviting, the kind of place where you can truly feel the soul of the music. The live blues performance was incredible, raw, emotional, and full of energy. What stood out the most was the owner. You can see his passion for the music in every detail of the place. He doesn’t just run the club; he lives the blues and shares that joy with everyone. His enthusiasm made the night even more special. If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy real blues music in an intimate and vibrant setting, Bistro à Jojo is the place to be!

A wonderful place to hang out and listen to live music. The band rocked in every sense of the word. The drinks are relatively well priced and there's a $10 cover (who does a cover anymore these days but since the band was so good they can be forgiven) at the entrance. This place is a Village institution, but they need to pull it together. I was surprised how quiet the patio was last Friday night, but after the service we had I guess that makes sense. Our server mocked my friend's order ("Basic!") and then when I asked what beers they have on tap, he told me he didn't know. I asked if he could find out and he said no. It turns out that he just didn't know what "on tap" meant so when I explained that he just asked what I wanted. I asked what Quebecois beers they had and he told me he doesn't know where things are from and would order me a Hoegaarden. I eventually managed to get a menu and they had a few selections from Archibald, which is a fantastic and storied Quebec brewery. The next day we wanted to give the place another chance. We took a table on the patio but I went in to order from the bar directly. The bartender here was friendly and attentive. We took our time finishing our drinks on the patio, and not a single staff member approached us at any point. I have some great memories of Sky bar, but I guess those days are gone. Such a shame.

Been here many times over the years. Its an intimate venue, the sound is always in point and the size is confusing. It has a decent capacity, but then it looks tiny and it still can hold 300ish people? Must be some kind of magic. I like going to shows here.
Mubeenah M — Google review
The music was fantastic but this place DESPERATELY needs to get either a taller stage/platform OR some kind of staggered seating for the audience. The floor is flat and the stage is low, so if you're not standing right in front of the stage you can't see anything at all. Not exaggerating, you really can't see anything unless you're absurdly tall. All you can see is the back of other people's heads!! Please find a solution to this because I would love to continue to events here but it's hard to justify spending the money to watch a band that I can't see :(

Went to a “club XCX” event that was supposed to be largely lady gaga, Kesha, Ariana grande, Charlie XCX, etc. The event is only 4 hours long and tickets were just under 30$, which was quite steep for the DJ to be essentially freestyling techno for half the event and the majority of the music having nothing to do with what the event was advertised as. Waste of 30$ and dubiously advertised, if I wanted to hear a random dude’s experimental DJ set I would go on hinge.

Bar Datcha is a trendy, low-lit cocktail bar in Montreal with a Russian theme. It offers innovative drinks, dancing, and a patio for street-side dining. Founded in partnership with renowned Montreal DJ Thomas Von Party, this bar hosts regular sets by local underground favorites and event series like No House No Techno! and L Nights. The venue features underground house, techno, and dub music to keep the grooves smooth and the dancers happy.
I had a wonderful time with my two friends. We went on a Thursday for their jazz night and it was so much fun! There was a $7 add on for the live band which we were told about while being seated. Our server was so friendly and took great care of us. The bar was very reminiscent of a speakeasy, it was very dark and tables were lit by candles. If you have issues seeing in the dark, definitely take that into account. After a little while my eyes adjusted, but when I first walked in it was hard to see. Overall I had a lovely time. The cocktails were delicious, staff were friendly, the band was wonderful and I will definitely be going back!

We came to montreal and were looking for a club or bar with Russian Rave, EDM or Hardbass (similar to GSPD, CMH and Russian Village Boys) to which we could dance. This bar/club was top rated on most forums for this kind of music, so we decided to visit at night. The club was not at all what we expected. To start off, despite the place being called a bar, they boast having a dancefloor and dj - which turned out to be a 3x3 meter nook in the bar. The music itself was also very very mellow, even for my friends who are new to EDM. If you're looking to dance, this is not the place for you. Second, there is no Russian theme or music. After talking with a waiter, he told us the bar was recently bought up. The previous owners were the family that got this bar on the top of many lists and forums for EDM music and its Russian identity. As we were told, the new Ukranian owners "quickly got rid of all of the weird Russian stuff." Whats crazier is that as we were about to leave, the waiter asked us if we would like a stamp so we wouldnt need to pay to re-enter the bar that night. Although a nice gesture, we were very surprised to see that the stamp was for the political "воля" symbol on our wrists. Because of these two big issues, we felt quite mislead and regreted spending even just a portion of our night here. The atmosphere was quite gloomy, and low energy. The waiter was nice and talkative, however, the bartenders were short tempered, getting immediatly pissed off when I asked if there would be any EDM. The cocktail menu was average in both price and drinks.

I've been to the Jazz and Tarot Thursday twice now and it's always pretty fun. There's an interesting speakeasy atmosphere with live Jazz music, drinks are pretty good and not that expensive ($12-14 for a cocktail) and the service is intimate and friendly. The personalized tarot card readings also give a sort of mystical vibe to the place which is pretty nice.

If you come before the dancing, the bar has an amazing “sit down and have a cocktail” vibe. Dark and mysterious. Order the Moscow Mule, if Datcha had a taste that would be it. The candlelit jazz night is also mind blowing. One of the best spots in the city.

Event venue
Newspeak, a vibrant nightlife spot in downtown Montreal's Quartier des spectacles, is a flashy and minimalist venue known for its live music and DJ performances. Named after the fictional language in George Orwell's 1984, this second-floor midsize club is operated by Montreal promoter Love Neon. It serves as their headquarters for techno events featuring minimal and deep house performers from Europe.
Really nice venue that is pretty small but not too crowded (at least when I went) so you can enjoy dancing in the crowd at the front but you can also go further back to take a break or have more space! The lights and sound system are pretty good, just bring so earplugs as usual when going to a club. Plenty of bathroom stalls, which is nice, and the drinks seemed reasonably priced. I much prefer the Newspeak rather than the bigger clubs like New City Gas with far too much people and, often, a less easy-going and friendly crowd.

Went on a Friday and it was almost empty, good music , and fair drink prices.
Loco N — Google review
the club is so cool, the staff sleeps standing up and we got in 20 of us without paying, the bartender if you don't leave a tip she throws the drinks on the floor, a show!! we did it several times she went crazy hahah. We had a great time, highly recommend!

Morally bankrupt institution. They are a nightclub—a place where many young people take party drugs—yet refuse to serve complimentary cups of water. It’s illegal in Quebec for businesses with liquor licenses not to serve free water. This strikes me as dangerous given the drugs that may be floating around people. Perhaps that water could save someone from passing out. This is a club that does not care about its patrons.
Max T — Google review
The venue was pretty great for the Jyoty concert recently. Easy entry although it was a bit confusing with the coat check as it seemed everyone had to wait to get through regardless of coat or not. Didn’t have an issue getting a glass of water from the bar, and there were plenty of places to leave the main room and sit throughout the night.
M B — Google review
Amazing event space great staff good sound fun crowd and great choice of talent mix of local and international djs
YAG F — Google review
I had a good time there, a lot of the recent reviews say the staff was bad but they were very good with me and my friend. I even gave the coat check lady too much money and she gave me back the extra coins and just took what she needed. The vibe was nice with the sort of EDM music I like (hardstyle drops, there was some special dj playing this time). There are also places you can sit if you want, which I really enjoy at clubs. The bad and why I put 4 stars is simply the venue is not designed well for sound acoustics, it's not the largest and shaped as a rectangle and the low ceiling also hurts the sound. If you are big on sound and have the ear for it you might not want to come here, but if you are looking to have a good time and dance it's fun.

Le Belmont is a vibrant and lively entertainment venue located near St. Laurent and Mont-Royal in Montreal. It caters to a diverse crowd, offering live acts, DJs, dancing, pool tables, improv nights, and various events. The club features distinct spaces that reflect its history as a student dive bar and its current status as a trendy underground club. It is known for hosting LGBTQ+ events like Mec Plus Ultra with drag performances and electro-pop music.
The place is really good. Their beers are not too expensive as well, around 8-10$each with tip so it’s really not bad compared to other bars on Saint-Laurent
Kim B — Google review
During my visit to Le Belmont for the #wetouchgrass event, I found the venue to be decent but with some room for improvement. The space is versatile and well-suited for various events, and the sound system did a good job of enhancing the music. The lighting also contributed positively to the overall vibe of the night. However, the venue became quite crowded, making it feel a bit cramped, which slightly impacted the enjoyment of the event. Service was inconsistent, and the drink prices were a bit steep for what was offered. Overall, while Le Belmont is a solid venue for music events like #wetouchgrass, the experience could be hit-or-miss depending on the crowd and night. It's worth checking out, but don't expect perfection.

I participated in a beat battle organized by Beatkits. The place was one of the best ones I have ever been too. Although the washrooms were a bit dirty .

I usually never leave reviews, but this one truly felt like a scam. I paid $30 to get into this Latin event, and honestly, it was a bad night. It was my first time going, and a lot of people had already warned me not to bother (I should’ve listened), which is kind of sad — that so many of my friends feel the same way. The first DJ (@Itsbabylinda) was actually really good, but after that, things just went downhill fast. The second DJ completely messed up the vibe. On top of that, the crowd was just... not it. They charge like it’s an exclusive, high-quality event, but let anyone in wearing whatever. The atmosphere felt cheap and messy. The frustrating part is that the venue itself is actually incredible. The place has great potential, and the facilities are perfect. But there’s clearly a huge area for improvement in the overall experience they offer. If this is what they call a quality Latin night, I’ve been to way better. Unfortunately, I’m not going back, and hopefully they take my words to improve.

I went to go see the Snotty Nose Rez Kids. Nice venue for a small to medium sized show. I think maybe it would be full with about 250 people. I couldn't find my ticket so the staff let me in anyways. I found my ticket after finally. 😆
Chris B — Google review
I went to the Hora Loca 90's 2000 event. I loved the music! The DJ was wonderful and the show was great. The venue seemed too small for the number of people, and it was difficult to dance. The bottles of alcohol were prohibitively expensive! But I really enjoy the party!
Beatriz V — Google review
It's an event venue. I've only been there for concerts. The staff is friendly and polite, I enjoy dealing with them. The parking is street parking only but there's a lot around. I don't know about food but they have a good selection of drinks. I'd easily suggest this place to hold or see a show.

Ausgang Plaza – Salle de spectacle Plaza St-Hubert is a versatile 4,500 square foot space in Rosemont that hosts a wide range of events. The venue attracts a fashion-forward and community-oriented crowd, creating a laid-back atmosphere. While not strictly a nightclub, it hosts packed DJ performances and diverse events like film festivals and VJ projections.

Fantastic venue. It was perfect for the fashion show that we organized. The alcoholic beverages are cheap in the main room. Their store that they have has montreal brands and they have those fancy espresso machines to serve coffee. Its a really lovely place. I suggest it for events or get togethers.
Bianca-Lauren H — Google review
I went to see one of my favorite artists here. She was amazing, but I didn't enjoy this venue. The worst part is the stage. It's not high enough. When you go to see an artist perform, you want to be able to actually SEE them. I could barely see her head through the crowd. I'm 5'2". That might not be very tall but it's an average height for a woman. I feel bad for people shorter than me who definitely wouldn't have been able to see the artist on stage. The next thing is that there's only one wall with seating available. In a room that holds hundreds of people, only about 10 people would have seating. Thirdly, the service at the coat check is subpar. I had to check my things since I had a backpack coming straight from work. Once the show was over, it literally took 30 minutes to get out of the building. At the coat check, I gave them my tickets, they gave me my coat, but then they ignored me and passed many other people. I was standing there for 5 straight minutes trying to get their attention before they finally gave me back my backpack. I thoroughly regretted tipping them since you have to pay in advance.
Jasmine G — Google review
Needs better communication between the venue and the company selling tickets. I was told the doors would open at 7, it was 7:35. There was no mention of a mandatory coat check, yet we had to check our coats. The ticket-taking and coat-checking process was ridiculously slow; the show was 45 minutes late in starting due to the time it took to let everyone in. Need to plan better and hire more staff if necessary! I would not return to a show here.
Susan K — Google review
Love it! Always has cool exhibits and events. Love that they support local Montreal artists and the LGBTQ+ community. It's a safe space for the urban artists, art hoes(lovers and appreciators), punks, weirdos, outsiders, badasses and everyone else in between to gather and appreciate art and have a good time.
Lyne D — Google review
A great place to host and see a show! Bar, security and tech staff are 💯 en pointe. Three projectors for backdrops and video, and multiple DJ setups. Tables and chairs available for cabaret which can also be cleared away for a dancefloor. Wheelchair accessible washrooms. Will definitely be booking with this location again.

Le Système, a vibrant establishment on Plaza St-Hubert, describes itself as a fusion of various elements including a restaurant, bar, club, venue, lounge and social club. Drawing inspiration from New York venues, this nightlife spot showcases vinyl turntables and offers an impressive selection of natural wines. Its dance floor comes alive with the help of an exceptional sound system while patrons can indulge in their menu that features delectable platters of popped oysters.
Système is an amazing spot to enjoy some delicious food and great music. The live DJ sets add a unique touch to the dining experience, making it a must-visit for music lovers. The food is excellent, and the service is top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring that you have everything you need. The atmosphere is also a standout feature of Système, with beautiful decor and lighting that creates an inviting ambiance. It's a real treat for the eyes and honestly worth going just for the design alone. The only minor downside is that the menu is only in French, which may be a challenge for non-French speakers. However, with the help of Google Translate or the staff, you can easily navigate the menu and find what you're looking for. Overall, Système is a great spot for a night out, combining excellent food, music, and atmosphere to create an unforgettable experience.

Me and my friend came in to participate in the drink and draw that was being hosted. We were both really excited to have an opportunity to socialize with other artists! We wore our best clothes and gathered all our pens and markers to share! ☺️ However, the second we got in, the person that greeted us was extremely rude. We were talking with a fellow artist outside and were asking them if they wanted to sit with us. The rude person got extremely irritated at that and started raising their voice. As to not cause problems, my friend and I opted to just say we were alone, hoping that maybe we'd be put close to the people we were hanging out with. The person made sure we were as far away from everyone as possible. :( My friend and I then just decided to focus on the drawing event instead. It went well, but as much as I appreciated the pen, papers and ideas provided by the restaurant, it wasn't hosted at all. I've been to many drink and draws and it's with a heavy heart that I have to say this wasn't a drink and draw, and more of a "everyone sits alone and draws in a bar". It seemed as though it was more about getting people to pay for a meal rather than to have an event. :/ Thankfully, the food was delightful and the portions were perfect! And other staff members stayed super polite and helpful! After drawing a bit with my friend, we didn't really want to stick any longer due to the way we had been treated and the isolated vibe of the event. We started slowly getting dressed and getting an Uber, when the rude person from before noticed and rushed us out of the door in a really sour and disrespectful manner. :( It seemed like the moment we had arrived, they REALLY wanted us gone. It sucks because my friend and I came in super excited to participate in the drink and draw and meet cool people and try good food, but instead, aside from the food tasting good, we were simply treated horribly. Whilst I'm sure that the drink and draw even can be easily improved upon, I more deeply wish that this establishment focuses on learning better customer service. It's okay to be frustrated by a customer, or to not like them on first sight, but to treat them the way we were treated isn't an acceptable way to solve an issue, especially since we weren't causing any issues at all and we're a bit at a loss as to why this member of staff was so upset and eager to get us out of the door. I definitely won't come back and won't recommend this place to anyone despite the great food, but I still hope that this restaurant improves and has a ton of success in the future. Good luck and take care!

It's the best club/restaurant in the city. Come here for dinner and stay for the whole night—you won’t regret it! The club has a wonderful selection of DJs and live music acts, a beautiful atmosphere, and A+ food and cocktails! They also have a robust wine selection.
R S — Google review
Experienced the restaurant section. Food was amazing, look and feel was nice and staff was friendly. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that it took a ridiculous amount of time to get our food (1h15 min for our 1st plate, 3 people on a Thursday). Considering this is a snack bar, you'd think they would serve in rounds, but instead they literally brought nothing for over an hour, then rushed 7 plates in about 20 minutes. I think that once they figure out their rythm a little bit better, the place will be flawless.
Claudia T — Google review
Food was pretty damn good for a club. DJ was probably the worst I’ve ever heard in my life (5/24). No one was dancing just bobbing

The Diving Bell Social Club, also known as Club Social Le Scaphandre, is a community-focused venue in Montreal that hosts local artist performances and various activities. It has become a beloved spot for its film screenings, karaoke nights, and more. Despite initial challenges with neighboring venues, it has found its place in the hearts of locals. The club offers an intimate space with great sound and a stage open to various performances.
Been here twice. Friendly service from bar staff and the cocktails were on point. If it's slow it's because they're really putting the effort into your drink. Having water on a tap accessible to everyone is genius. Nice, intimate venue. Actually has enough washrooms for people unlike other places.

Small intimate space, Great sound, the service was a bit slow but not to bad. Good size stage and the venue is open to all different kinds of performances. Very artist friendly ( theatre or music ). The only down side it they are located on the third floor, there's really no way to accommodate anyone who can't walk up 3 flights of stairs. Otherwise wonderful experience.

Great venue for shows, drag performances, comedy nights, and more. Good cocktails and a nice range of non alcoholic drinks too! Very LGTBQ+ friendly (incl genderless washrooms). Servers are nice. Try the popcorn! Only downside is that it us up 2 fairly steep flights of stairs so its not accessible to those with mobility issues.

If you're looking for a spot to enjoy great shisha, Volume Shisha Cafe is definitely worth a visit. The quality of the shisha is excellent and well worth the money. The staff are very friendly and attentive, making the experience all the more enjoyable. The ambiance is decent—good enough for a relaxing hangout, though it might not be the ideal setting for a romantic first date. The food is acceptable, though not the highlight of the experience. As a shisha cafe, the main focus is clearly on delivering top-notch shisha, and they succeed at that. It's a perfect spot to chill with friends, unwind, and enjoy the vibe. Overall, I’d rate it 4 stars, as it truly excels where it matters most: the SHISHA
