Chilimosa Comida Vegetariana y Vegana is a charming vegetarian restaurant located in Tarifa, Southern Spain. Started as a takeaway joint by Denny and Saira in 2005, it has now expanded to include a few cozy tables for dining in. The menu offers an extensive selection of global vegetarian dishes such as spinach and feta-stuffed pastry, Thai green curry, veggie soya burger, samosas, falafel, and vegetables with coconut milk.
Restaurante Chilimosa is a cute little restaurant that serves lovingly prepared food that is flavorful and delicious. I devoured the lasagna accompanied by a good salad. I also took a wrap to go, and a piece of carrot cake and an apple pastry. It's the best food I've had in Spain since arriving one week ago.

Small, lovingly decorated vegan & vegetarian restaurant A truly charming little place – thoughtfully and beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. The food was sensational – full of flavor, creative, and beautifully presented. A big plus: everything is vegan or vegetarian! We’ll definitely be coming back – it’s absolutely worth a visit. Little tip: try the soap in the restroom – it smells amazing! 😊

Lovely team, always friendly :) we had starters, main dish and a dessert. All vegan, all good. The onion pakora is better than in some Indian restaurants. Everything’s made with fresh and clean integrients. Absolute must visit as a vegan in Tarifa ✌🏻
Kurt B — Google review
Chilimosa in Trifa is a fantastic find! As a vegetarian, I was delighted by the creative and flavorful dishes on offer. It's clear that they put a lot of love and thought into their menu, with options that go beyond the usual veggie fare. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the positive experience. If you're looking for delicious vegetarian food in Trifa, Chilimosa is a must-visit! P.S. the Katsu Curry was a highlight!
Yoni Z — Google review
Lovely restaurant but very small get there early for a table or you will have to wait. The bhajis are a must to try! 95% authentic. I think they need to add a bit more coriander, asofotedia ginger and garlic. With coriander seeds and ajwain and it would be 100% authentic. We ordered a burger which was nice but the bread roll was way too dry and would have tasted better on a brioche bun. The sextant kebab was delicious The vegan lasagne was that great. The carrot cake it lovely. I would have ordered the curry next time because it is cooked freshly in the kitchen.
Hetal S — Google review
The nachos with the chili sin carne - wow! Also the other dishes were great, cooked with love. Happy place for veg and vegans. Just the space itself is a bit small and the atmosphere could be lighter. Still, worth a visit

Wow! Amazing food and lovely staff! We loved everything, highly recommend

There are generally not many vegetarian restaurants or dishes available in Spain, so we came here. It is very cozy, the food is really good, and the service is attentive. A lovely place for vegetarians!

Surla is an eco-conscious cafe in Tarifa that offers a variety of international dishes and an extensive tea selection. The cafe has a relaxed and leafy ambiance, making it a great spot for breakfast, lunch, or brunch. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. With options ranging from Andalusian salmorejo to vegan choices, the menu caters to different dietary preferences.
I recently had breakfast at Surla in Tarifa, and I was thoroughly impressed with their take on a simple yet flavorful dish. The fried egg on toast was beautifully presented—crispy, golden toast topped with a perfectly cooked egg. The bright yolk was silky and delicious, complemented by a drizzle of green sauce that added a zesty touch, while the seasoning gave it a subtle smokiness. The artistic swipe of puréed vegetables on the side was a nice visual touch and added a fresh burst of flavor. Overall, it’s an uncomplicated dish done exceptionally well—hearty, satisfying, and just what you want to start the day. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quality breakfast spot in Tarifa!
Piotr L — Google review
We spent some time in Tarifa at the end of April, beginning of May. We had done a little research on where we wanted to eat and Surla was on our list. We were not disappointed. Surla was close to our accommodation so we ate there more than once, enjoying lunch, breakfast and afternoon drinks and cake. The food is excellent, portion sizes very generous and we felt they offered extremely good value for money. The serving staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and always friendly. You may have to wait a little for a table but it will be worth it!

Best breakfast of tarifa and good portions. Love the acai bowls, but tostadas (salmon and mushroom) are also good. We come back every year:)

Very glad i discovered it during the short stay in Tarifa, absolutely perfect for a morning coffee, nice Company, very friendly Staff. Knew at my second visit which coffee i ordered the firdt time, very cool!
Petra P — Google review
Surla is the best breakfast spot in Tarifa. The fruit bowls are delicious and the coffees well done. You won't have space for the eggs but also worth trying. The only thing about it is that as great as it is, I think prices are generous for a breakfast spot - typically a bill of at least €20. Do you leave happy? Yes, at a slight but worthy cost.

Almedina Cafe Bar is a unique and historic late-night spot in Tarifa, opening at 8:30 pm. Nestled within the medieval walls near Guzman Castle, it offers a charming ambiance with exposed brickwork and arched ceilings. The bar hosts a weekly live flamenco show, usually on Thursdays, adding to its allure. Situated at an entrance to the old medina, this venue provides a timeless atmosphere amidst thousand-year-old stones.
Live Flamenco shows + Freshly made Pizza + great Wine and a solid selection of Gin and Spanish beer wrapped in a fantastic vibe inside ancient the walls of Tarifa's historic centre. Pricing just perfect .

Quant little bar which has been built into one of the ancient towers of this lovely historic town. Live Flamenco each Thursday is well worth getting there early for.
Michael F — Google review
Beautiful place right inside the old city wall. Staff is very friendly, the coctails are really nice. The caipiriña was the best I had. Thursday flamengos are a great experience with local artists.
Ivana K — Google review
So, we didn't eat there...but the service and care are amazing, even when the place is as packed as a great day's catch in a tiny trawler. The stars come out when the flamenco gets going. Make sure you find out when. You'll witness greatness from the pros and fin, fun, fun from the locals who get up and have a crack. You? You'll sit down and admire them, and yourself for not letting the cheap drinks persuade you that you're up for a crack on the floor. The locals, there and in the local hospital will also be forever grateful.
Kitchen I — Google review
OMG this place! A great class of cava, a phenomemal flamenco show, friendly bartender and owner, and a great atmosphere. What more could you want?! I was there two nights ago and am planning my day so I can return today. On flamenco nights, get there early for a seat. You will love it!
Sophie A — Google review
Great place for drinks and food. Also nice live music (flamenco sessions). Great service and the terasse in the stairs Is a must try 🙌

If you are passing by tarifa, don’t miss this place for a great flamenco show … good sangria… Small place so try to arrive early if you want to have a sit and enjoy the show.

Morilla is a popular restaurant located in the heart of Tarifa, offering a great value menu that includes a starter, main course, dessert, and drink at an affordable price. Situated beneath the famous Iglesia de San Mateo, this restaurant provides a prime location with a charming terrace. The star dishes include seafood soup, grilled tuna, and homemade almond flan for dessert. It's known for its delicious food and friendly service.
Very nice place to eat. The food was lovely, the service was great and the atmosphere just right. The price was definitely value for money. Would definitely recommend 👌
Leslie C — Google review
Based on the reviews we chose this place "in a pinch". Let's start with the good: the service was friendly + fast and the fried baby squids and leg of lamb were very tasty. Unfortunately the Lamb Chobs were a big disappointment: it looked and tasted boiled, even though it was supposed to be grilled. The dessert coffee was quite good
Timo J — Google review
This is an average south of spain restaurant prototype, nothing special. Basic food with basic taste. The service was kind with us and the environment is okey. Restaurant is located close to the center town.
Ricard C — Google review
Seafood soup is absolutely disgusting. The first time I couldn't finish paella. Frozen seafood. The sauce is really bad... And extremely overpriced for this quality ..You can easily get poisoned.. The place is good only for drinks
Aleksandar V — Google review
We ordered spaghetti at the restaurant for take away. A bolognese and carbonara. The service was quick and staff was nice, but the result of the food was terrible. To start with the worst: the bolognese smelled disgusting. As if the meat had been heated up several times. The meat was mushy in a negative way and tasted like it smelled. It was inedible. Salt and pepper was necessary for the carbonara. Also, all the cream that had been used was separated from the oil and not emulsified. Although it didn't smell like spoiled meat, the portion was half as small as the bolognese (not as shown in the photo, we already ate it). I would NOT RECOMMEND any of these pastas. If the rest is as bad as the pastas, I would not recommend the restaurant. How hard is it to make a pasta that you don't want to throw away?
Elise — Google review
I think a picture is worth a 1000 words. Whereas the service is good and atmosphere is lovely, what's on the picture is, in the opinion of the reataurant, espresso machiatto and Spanish omelette. I would call it coffee-fkavired milk and frozen potatoes with eggs on top, warmed up on the skillet
Igor S — Google review
Morilla - Very nice place in the middle of the old town, in the city center. Delicious food and very nice service in this spanish restaurant. Menu del dia is cheap and just excellent. Served by efficent and friendly waiters. Crowded at lunchtime but even lots of locals in the evening. We really enjoyed our visit. The staff was really kind and helpful and everything we ordered was tasty and fresh. Great location. Very spanish, very friendly and very tasty! Fish dishes are higly recomended.

Nestled in the charming old quarter of Tarifa, Mandragora is a delightful culinary gem that transports you straight to Morocco with its exquisite flavors. This elegant eatery specializes in traditional Moroccan dishes, including the beloved lamb and plum tagine, savory falafel, and creamy hummus. Guests rave about the warm hospitality provided by the attentive staff who ensure a memorable dining experience. For those with a sweet tooth, Mandragora also offers an array of delectable desserts alongside a diverse wine selection.
Magnificent place with amazing service. I advise everyone who can't go for a trip to Morocco to try their food in this restaurant. The meat was well cooked, pudding with almost ideal consistency and the waiter was super polite and helping with recommending best dishes. Will definitely come back
Piotr G — Google review
The restaurant is located behind the church in a narrow street just a few steps away from the more lively area. It was too chilly to eat outside. The lady was helpful and friendly. The restaurant is missing some ambiance. The portions of the main dish are not big so luckily we started dinner with a starter. Food is okay but we expected a more typical and spicy experience. They serve automatically a sweet mint tea after dinner.
Layla A — Google review
We had the off-season luxury of having the whole restaurant for ourselves for a good half an hour. The service is very kind and polite and there is a street cat coming to get his daily food, which we love. There is some sort of simbiosis happening in this place, pretty magical. We had the tagine tuna and the tagine lamb and they were both fantastic. I would 100% recommend the lamb especially. If you are also someone who doesnt eat a LOT, then maybe skip the bread with falafel and hummus cause we couldnt finish all the food afterwards… the falafel were however, very crunchy and tasty! Thank you!
Lily A — Google review
Absolutely delicious !!! This charming restaurant offers a variety of food. Moroccan dishes are super tasty, try Chicken cuscus and stuffed Eggplants. And there’re choices, which are not Moroccan as well . We ordered Grilled Boletus, seasonal mushrooms, and were served Porcini !!!! Service is very attentive, atmosphere outdoors is romantic - the tables are spread along the ancient town wall. We will definitely come back 🩷

We had a tuna tajine and chicken couscous and both were delicious. The falafel platter was really good. Wonderful ambience and great service.

Absolutely recommend. Food was incredible and the service even better. I really appreciated the attention to the customer and recommendations from the waiter. We ordered and loved (photos below): - Falafel - Marinated eggplant - tajin with artichokes - tajin with lamb If you are looking to try something different, go here
Fabio C — Google review
Very nice dinner in this great restaurant in Tarifa old town but very quiet. Nice terasse, super gentle service from our waiter and the veggy Tajine was fabulous, as good as falafels we had for 1st dish. A must go place when in Tarifa 🙌

Everything was perfect! The food is home made, mostly locally sourced and so delicious! They have a nice selection of wine and non-alcoholic drinks. The vegan cheese cake was excellent and not too sweet. There are many vegan options. Plus, the place is cosy and the service very nice.

Amazing food and experience. Not only is the setting quite nice, and the atmosphere being so close to the beach, but the food was excellent. We ordered the ensaladilla, the fruit salad and tree different homemade pasta dishes, and everything was superb. Flavorful, al dente and full of nutty flavors. We also ordered a crepe for dessert, and I’d never tried a better vegan one. Absolutely recommend it and we’ll visit again soon.

10/10 on the food. The best vegetarian food I ate in Tarifa. I had the Ravioli and it was absolutely delicious. One of those meals you eat and think about after. Makes me wish I lived in Tarifa to be nearer to this fabulous restaurant. Service was also good and server was friendly. Located near to the beach. A must visit for any vegetarian whilst in Tarifa. Even if not a vegetarian, this restaurant will deliver great tasting food that will make you realise you don't need meat and fish to make tasty meals. Vegan options are also available.

Dear Brio Team We visited your wonderful and charming restaurant yesterday, and it was a sensational culinary discovery! The exquisite food with its new vegan recipes delighted us – it was simply outstanding. For us, it was the discovery in Tarifa. A true explosion of flavors – from the starter to the dessert, every dish amazed us. A real festival of delicious, refined dishes! Anyone who loves vegan cuisine should definitely visit this restaurant – highly recommended. The service was also exceptionally friendly and helpful – we would like to express our heartfelt thanks for that. A special thank-you to Javier for the excellent recommendation! When we return to Tarifa, we will definitely come back. Warmest regards Martine and Sebastian

Fantastic food as always. No processed ingredients which I loved. Especially the ravioli blew me away.
Isabel B — Google review
This place is close to the beach, it has a huge menu where all the vegetarian options can be veganized, the food is prepared and served with great care (and it's yummy!), the cakes are all vegan... Wow! I would certainly recommend the Panzerotti (fried pizza dough stuffed with veggies and cheese) and the home made ravioli. The cold pumpkin appetizer is to die for. There are baby seats and the bathroom is equipped to change babies.
Simone S — Google review
A wonderful niche spot to eat in Tarifa! The menu was big and the food was just phenomenal. Outstanding restaurant because of the Bio/Vegan food there, which is rare at the area. The waitress was really friendly and her English was good as well. The spot near the playa was beautiful and not to busy/loud. Definitely a recommendation for everyone who wants to eat not just the typical Spanish food.
Sören — Google review
Enjoyed a lovely dinner here, the food was excellent and presented with little extras to pair flavours and a desire to make a memorable meal for all the right reasons. Well worth a visit even if you are not a vegan but simply craving some fresh experiences and a change from the typical chiringuito menu.

GIOELIA Cremeria in Tarifa is a must-visit for ice cream lovers. Located at the bottom of steps leading from Plaza de Santa Maria towards the old town, this shop offers a wide selection of flavors at reasonable prices. The quality of their artisanal ice cream is top-notch, with unique and tasty flavors that are freshly made daily by the owner herself. The location in the center adds to its charm, providing a pleasant setting with ample seating and clean facilities.
The ice cream tasted fantastic. My ice cream even had fresh pistachio pieces in it. Also, the location itself is pretty with enough seating and a nice bathroom. I can only recommend it.

Delicious creamy ice cream, great original flavours. I had 2 times pistachio/caramel and coffee, they were really delicious. Best ice cream in Tarifa!
Walter R — Google review
A few days ago we visited the cafe hoping for original Sicilian products, Unfortunately we ordered granita, which was not similar to sicilian granita at all, it was just crashed ice with lemon juice. We also ordered a traditional canollo tube, which turned out to be filled with spoiled sour ricotta - we had to throw it in the trash. We do not recommend this place. The service also left much to be desired. The place opened late that day and we walked in this direction of town specifically to get there and it was not open long after 2 pm according to schedule. The place has nothing to do with the flavors of Sicily and the sicilian atmosphere. So it shouldn't advertise as one.
Jolanta P — Google review
Most delicious ice cream in Tarifa! Even a "simpler" flavour like Vaniglia was amazing! Staff is super friendly. Only point, you need to eat your ice very quickly as it's melting otherwise over your hand - but I guess that shouldn't be a problem ;-)

While some flavors shine with vibrant taste and others impress with their creamy texture, the overall experience is enjoyable.
Very nice ice-cream shop. Here you experience fantastic flavours, it is 100% home made, many vegan flavours (fruit based ones and also the chocolate one). I cannot wait to go back, it is really for me till now the best “Gelato” place in Tarifa.

I’ve tried the cherry and pistachio flavors and they were both very delicious. Although I’ve tried better ones in Tarifa. Still, recommended.

Pricey, overpricey. For a small portion picked with standard ice cream spoon. That was disapointing for 4€. (i was sure we have overpriced ice cream in Bratislava, 3€, but small portion is much more bigger than here) Taste was good.
Simone M — Google review
I'm often mocked for always choosing vanilla ice cream when their's usually a few wild and different flavours, but if you can't do vanilla right I'm not interested in whatever else is on offer, so in 45 years I've tried a hell of a lot of vanilla ice cream, and Casa Del Gelato in Tarifa is by far the best vanilla ice cream I've ever had in my entire life absolutely transcendent. I even went back to sample the Oreo (also by far the best fusion I've tried) and of course went back for more vanilla ❤️

Gelato lovers are a peculiar bunch. We want flavour, but texture is so much of the equation. Here, some of the flavours sing, and some of the textures, but rarely simultaneously. It's a good place. Just not a great place.

I find Día location convenient and fresh produce , selection on meats dairy produce condiments etc for last minute shopping. Walking distance from beach area. The staff there are friendly to non Spanish people .

Bakery
Ecobakery Gluten Free is a charming artisanal bakery that specializes in creating delicious gluten-free breads and pastries, ensuring that every product is safe for those with celiac disease. They use gluten-free flours and take great care to prevent cross-contamination, making their offerings completely lactose-free as well. Visitors rave about the incredible flavors and variety available, noting that the treats taste just like traditional baked goods—if not better!
This place is AMAZING! The gluten-free pasteries / bread doesn’t taste like gluten-free. I don’t know what the ciabattas are made of, but they taste like the original ones. And the „schweineohr“ (don’t know the Spanish name for it), taste so juicy and good. The cream of millefeuille is made of almond milk. We had a really good breakfast. The owners are also lovely. I wish we would have a bakery like this in the place where we live. Support those guys! The place is small but yummyyy. And we came there early to grab the best pieces ;) Thank you!!

The Lady was really kind and explained all the options, i tried the empanada de atún and palmera de chocolate. It was so good we went back to buy more! Best gluten free pastry shop i have tried, and i will definitely be coming back!

Probably not a place to pop in spontaneously, as there were only two things available (Cookies and Donuts) Both were very lovely!

I have been gluten-free for almost 20 years and this is the best bread I have ever had. Absolutely incredible, will come back many many times

The best bakery store in the world that I have ever come across.I was checking Google to deliver a birthday cake to a friend in Tarifa when I stumbled through eco bakery. The staff is extremely co-operative,genuine and helpful. Fernando, the store in charge is the most patient man I have ever come across and is just amazing.Best gluten free store that has wide range of breads, cakes and pies and prices are very reasonable. Doesn't matter where in the world you are you can still have a cake delivered to your loved ones in Tarifa through these guys. Easy payment options and best services ever. If you visit Tarifa and don't visit this place then you are missing on something big!!😊😊

If you find yourself wandering the charming streets of Tarifa, make sure to stop by Pastelería La Tarifeña, a haven for dessert lovers. This delightful pastry shop boasts an impressive array of homemade goodies that will surely satisfy your sweet cravings. From decadent cakes to the beloved heart-shaped palmeras drizzled with chocolate, every treat is a feast for the senses. For those looking for something savory, their pizza slices offer a perfect brunch option.
Fabulous selection of cakes, chocolates, honey and coated nuts. I tried the baklava and it was exquisite flavoured with orange, pastry buttery and yummy pistachios. The lady serving in the shop was friendly and polite. Will be calling in before going home for treats for family . I thought everything was fabulous value for money.

As a cake shop owner in Madrid, I can say this is probably one of the best confiterías I have visited in Spain. I had a selection of the moorish sweets as well as their popular ones. The red fruit tartelet was amazing, the "tranvia" hojaldre was very nice, there was another tartelet made with the leftovers of tranvia.....also spectacular. Highly recommend visiting this place!

Great cake shop with lots to choose from. The macaroons were amazing and I wish I have bought more! I could easily eat more than half the shop! The service was friendly and professional.

La Tarifena is a great place to buy pastries, cakes, Moroccan delicacies and donuts, as well as freshly-baked breads and rolls. Today it was so crowded I didn't go inside, but yesterday I looked around and noticed La Tarifena also sells honey, marmalades and they all looked good, but were a little overpriced. But do expect delicious food and all fresh.

During my adventures in Tarifa, I stumbled upon Pastelería Bernal, a delightful gem that exceeded my expectations. Initially thinking it was just a quaint bakery, I soon discovered it’s a vibrant restaurant bar with an inviting atmosphere. Whether you choose to sit inside, where the ambiance is warm and cozy, or outside to soak up the lively plaza scene while people-watching, each experience is unique.
Lovely pastries in a beautiful setting. Worth a visit. And forget the “Dubai chocolate” nonsense. Have a filled pistachio croissant here, it’s much more worth it.

A nice place with goodies. Delicious sandwiches, especially with sun-dried tomatoes. Delicious flatbreads and cakes. Friendly staff and fast service. It's great that there is a place to sit in the shade)

We stumbled upon this place when we first arrived in Tarifa. Thought it was a small bakery but it turns out it is a full restaurant bar with a great atmosphere. Whether inside or out you can have different experiences. Inside is warm and cozy, out side you can experience the plaza and watch the many people go by. The pastries and coffee are delicious and seem to change everyday. The staff are amazing, teaching us a bit of Spanish every time we went in. Love it here. Our go to place for coffee and treats.

Got in this place by mistake as I was wondering the old town of Tarifa Spain, It just feels so relaxing , welcomed, invited to taste those delicious “postres” with a late. I will return here 100% Enjoy

Omg one of the best bakeries I’ve been to in Spain and I’ve been in a LOT. The quality of the pastry here is fresh and crisp, quite light, and the fillings aren’t overwhelmingly sweet for the most part. Great cappuccino, street seating only.

La.Freska Helados Artesanos offers a unique dining experience with dishes like octopus with pork scratchings and homemade cheesecake prepared by the chef. Pair your meal with a glass of local Chardonnay for an unforgettable culinary adventure. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, the experience is definitely worth it for those seeking something special.
Octopus with pork scratchings! It worked! Homemade, by the chef, cheesecake and a glass or two of local Chardonnay to wash it all down with. Not the cheapest but worth the experience in my humble opinion.

(Translated by Google) The ice creams are very good. We tried the rice pudding one and the vineyard cheesecake one with strawberries and the chocobons and oreo one. €3 per medium tub. Super recommended, we will try them again if we return to the rate. out of 10 (Original) Los helados buenísimos. (Translated by Google) We arrived at the ice cream parlor guided by Google reviews. And for us the ice creams are simply good. Of course, the flavors are original, we find palmeritas, twins, happy hippo... but only good ones, not spectacular ones. Prices range from 2 euros to 4.5 euros depending on the size and number of ice cream scoops, so the prices are somewhat high, although not more than the rest of the ice cream parlors in the area. Eso sí los sabores son originales, encontramos de palmeritas, de twins, de happy hippo... pero solo buenos no espectaculares. Gelatto the Chef is a charming Italian restaurant located in a bustling neighborhood. The restaurant is known for its delectable homemade gelato, which comes in a variety of flavors. In addition to their signature gelato, they also offer a wide range of classic Italian dishes, including pasta and pizza. Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, Gelatto the Chef has something to satisfy your appetite.
A wonderful Italian gelateria. We got a craving for ice cream around 10 PM, and the owner was preparing to close, but he was so kind that he reopened for us and served us. Moreover, he stayed with us to chat, we got to know each other, and we laughed a lot together. With such a place and person, you feel like buying more. We had a great time, definitely worth trying!

Awful place. Owner smoking near doors :)) where a lot of kids. Bad experience. Try to avoid. They try to change name of g llateria, looks like because of bad reviews. But we wont forget them 😀💩

Best ice cream I've ever tasted and the lady who helped us was super kind and helpful (maybe new staff? Not sure what happened with other reviews).
