Tapas bar
Bar El Frances is a renowned establishment in Tarifa, known for its Andalusian classics with a modern twist. It's advisable to arrive early as they don't take reservations. The bar offers generous portions of dishes such as pigs cheeks in red wine sauce and spicy patatas bravas, which are said to be the best in Tarifa. Additionally, their tuna meatballs and rice with baby squid, prawns, and vegetables are highly recommended.
I loved the waiters here as they're fun and sassy, and it's different from other formal places. I knocked my glass of wine off the table and the waitress immediately told me no worries. She gave me another glass while she cleaned up. How nice was that! Food was good too and we enjoyed sharing them. It's a great night!

Bar El Francés was one of the highlights of our time in Tarifa. Yes, we had to wait a little to get a table (they don’t take reservations and there’s no phone or website), but trust me it’s 100% worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the chicken couscous absolutely blew us away. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and totally unexpected from a tapas bar. Every dish was spot on. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the prices are more than fair for the quality. This place is a gem and we’ll definitely be back.
X K — Google review
A wonderful spot with live music that creates a great atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and always happy to recommend what to drink. The food is absolutely first-class — everything we tried was delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommended for a relaxing evening out.
Marcin P — Google review
An absolute revelation. The cuisine dazzles with bold, mouth-watering flavours that linger memorably, ensuring you'll be plotting your return before the meal is through. Complemented by a staff that is both impeccably professional and delightfully engaging—particularly with younger diners—the experience is flawless. It stands as a pinnacle of family dining, compelling enough to warrant an immediate revisit. A must-try.
Joel M — Google review
They were very nice and let me sit at the bar since I was by myself. I ordered the tuna meatballs (20/10), tuna montadito (ahumado) (15/10) and the chocolate mousse (6/10). I’ll be back for the eggplant with tomato and cheese which looked amazing. Everyone was very nice even though the restaurant was packed and they were very busy but it took them a while to bring the check and take my order even though I was at the bar. The music was great and the service had a really friendly and welcoming vibe. Would definitely recommend and I’ll be back.
Josefina Z — Google review
If you are in Tarifa, there is no way you can miss this restaurant. Everything was amazing but if you want to taste something heavenly try the meat balls and the goat cheese mushrooms. We simply loved it and it worthed the wait.
Andra S — Google review
Everything is fantastic here. Food is so delicious and the prices are very reasonable. The service is so perfect and the personal is extremely kind. Very recommended

Amazing place. You can not reserve a table. So come early and you will have a spot, because it can be really crowdy. But food is fast and good. We come back every year🙏 eberico secreto and the mellanzane with goat cheese🤤 really fabulous!! 🫶

El Lola - Bar de Tapas y Flamenco is a cozy and popular spot in Tarifa, known for its intimate interior and spacious terrace where locals gather to enjoy classic tapas, wine, and live flamenco music.
Lola a must visit during your stay at Tarifa. It can be really busy, but its worth it. The atmosphere is fantastic. Service great! Good with kids. Food above standards. A good Rioja for 3 euro a glas, just perfect! Overal we enjoyed our last evening on the terrace. Take the tuna platter to share👌and the jamon croquetas👍
Plukker — Google review
I couldn't recommend El Lola more.. this was our most memorable meal during our 10 day trip to Spain. We had the spicy tuna tartar, goat cheese, chicken meatballs, and pistachio cream dessert. All were delicious but I'd travel back to Tarifa just to have the tuna tartar again. The meat was so fresh, not a fatty piece in it, and such a generous portion. On top of the food, the wine, service, and atmosphere as we sat outside were all top notch.
Michael H — Google review
A very nice restaurant with delicious food and well-sized portions. The staff was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. However, it was quite crowded, and we ended up at a less comfortable table with bar stools and an uneven surface, which took away a bit from the dining experience. In my opinion, the prices are a little too high for what you actually get – still good, but not fully matching the cost.
AnotherPerspective — Google review
Great atmosphere, food good, we had various half plates, which were delicious and substantial, the calamari sliders were delish, as was the boquerones on toast, followed by the Iberian ‘Lagato’ which had the most amazing chargrilled flavor. Service was sketchy as they were sooo busy but everyone was very polite. They don’t take reservations, so get there between 7:30-8pm if you don’t want to queue for an hour or more. Very much worth a visit!
Dub — Google review
10/10, one of the best meals I’ve ever had in the world - not an understatement! As someone that loves food and eating out this restaurant blew me away. The things they did with the Atún rojo have to be experienced if you’re in Tarifa, went for lunch and had to go back for dinner to try the food again. HIGHLY recommend.
Charles D — Google review
5 stars — Waiting 90 minutes was absolutely worth it. The croquetas, the little hamburguesitas, and the revuelto de patata con jamón ibérico were all outstanding. Every bite felt special, full of flavor and made with care. Truly magical tapas worth the wait.
Marco — Google review
LOLA in Tarifa is an absolute must! The food is out of this world – from the house signature Frito Lola to the spicy tuna tartare (whaaaat a mezl 🤩) every bite is delicious. The atmosphere is full of flamenco-style charm and energy. Just remember, it’s first come, first serve, so get there a little early. Totally worth it!
Ghizlane B — Google review
This place is super popular and way too busy. There are equally good choices nearby. As such, the atmosphere with the street full of waiting patrons continually staring at you is a tad annoying. We arrived at 8 and waited 5min. Those that arrived at 8:30 waited till 9:30 to be seated. The highlight is the service. Super fast, not one set waiter for your table, ultra-attentive, and fun/friendly. Food is excellent, but it is also excellent in the mutliple adjacent restaurants. El Lola specializes in tuna; also meat and veggie offerings. Anything heated/cooked is very salty, thus the flavor. The rare tuna was great - no salt but good balance of olive oil and garlic. Photos are of the Tataki Tuna and the Presa Iberica de Bellota. I do not recommend the presa.

Restaurante La Pescadería is a popular seafood restaurant located in the heart of Tarifa's old town. The restaurant offers a relaxed setting with shaded outdoor tables, making it an ideal spot to enjoy regional seafood plates and rice dishes. Their extensive menu features local almadraba tuna catches from the Strait of Gibraltar, pescado frito (fried fish), and arroces (rice-based dishes).
The food was very good. The fish and all the seafood was very fresh and well prepared. We were lucky with table, please book in advance. One of the best Catalan cream we had here.
Tamara — Google review
Busy fish restaurant that serves good food which is reasonably priced. It’s located on the edge of town centre with plenty of outdoor seating. All dishes we ordered were very tasty and good size portions too. Great choice for anyone who is not sure what to order as menu is quite extensive, including Maroccan inspired dishes.
Zdenka F — Google review
Everything at this restaurant is at least a 10/10. The service is very attentive, quick and super nice. The food is extraordinary. We went here twice in a row, tried different foods and are in fact sad that we have to leave and can‘t try every single dish on the menu.
Jocelyn W — Google review
Good andalusian fish restaurant. Can be a little hectic inside. My grilled seabass was nice, but could have been filleted better. Vegetables were top notch. Service was top, afterwards a cherry on the house. Generally recommended.
Niklas R — Google review
What a lovely place to eat, the staff was super friendly, and the food was to die for. We went twice in a 2 days trip, first day we got the tuna 4 ways and the octopus 🐙, but the second day it was the cherry on top 🍒 the pasta with clams and king prawns was amazing, but the croaker with aioli and squid ink rice is something that you MUST eat, is not the cheapest place but it is completely worth it. Is a place that we will go every time we visit Tarifa!

The restaurant is located in front of the port gate in a nice square. You can also step in from the oldtown. The waiters are kind ,helpful and attentive from the beggining till the end . The arroz was quiet good and plenty for two person . At the and they invited us for a dessert wine however we couldn’t eat more :)

Chilimosa Comida Vegetariana y Vegana is a charming vegetarian restaurant located in Tarifa, Southern Spain. Started as a takeaway joint by Denny and Saira in 2005, it has now expanded to include a few cozy tables for dining in. The menu offers an extensive selection of global vegetarian dishes such as spinach and feta-stuffed pastry, Thai green curry, veggie soya burger, samosas, falafel, and vegetables with coconut milk.
Restaurante Chilimosa is a cute little restaurant that serves lovingly prepared food that is flavorful and delicious. I devoured the lasagna accompanied by a good salad. I also took a wrap to go, and a piece of carrot cake and an apple pastry. It's the best food I've had in Spain since arriving one week ago.

Small, lovingly decorated vegan & vegetarian restaurant A truly charming little place – thoughtfully and beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. The food was sensational – full of flavor, creative, and beautifully presented. A big plus: everything is vegan or vegetarian! We’ll definitely be coming back – it’s absolutely worth a visit. Little tip: try the soap in the restroom – it smells amazing! 😊

Lovely team, always friendly :) we had starters, main dish and a dessert. All vegan, all good. The onion pakora is better than in some Indian restaurants. Everything’s made with fresh and clean integrients. Absolute must visit as a vegan in Tarifa ✌🏻
Kurt B — Google review
Chilimosa in Trifa is a fantastic find! As a vegetarian, I was delighted by the creative and flavorful dishes on offer. It's clear that they put a lot of love and thought into their menu, with options that go beyond the usual veggie fare. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the positive experience. If you're looking for delicious vegetarian food in Trifa, Chilimosa is a must-visit! P.S. the Katsu Curry was a highlight!
Yoni Z — Google review
Lovely restaurant but very small get there early for a table or you will have to wait. The bhajis are a must to try! 95% authentic. I think they need to add a bit more coriander, asofotedia ginger and garlic. With coriander seeds and ajwain and it would be 100% authentic. We ordered a burger which was nice but the bread roll was way too dry and would have tasted better on a brioche bun. The sextant kebab was delicious The vegan lasagne was that great. The carrot cake it lovely. I would have ordered the curry next time because it is cooked freshly in the kitchen.
Hetal S — Google review
The nachos with the chili sin carne - wow! Also the other dishes were great, cooked with love. Happy place for veg and vegans. Just the space itself is a bit small and the atmosphere could be lighter. Still, worth a visit

Restaurante Mic Moc is a recently opened and exciting spot in Tarifa, known for its creative menu and homemade sauces. The cozy decoration creates a welcoming atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a fancier dining experience. With a great selection of vegetarian/vegan options, seafood, and Mediterranean cuisine, including delicious paella, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Okay, we're the second day. Food is really very good, honestly. But I feel sad for the very friendly belgium waitress, who has to serve more than 50 guests !!! Alone ! Too much stress ! She is still so friendly to all customers and handles all this in a perfect and quick delivery of all ordered dishes. How can the owner of this restaurant tolerate this? Everybody who's working in this business knows that 1 waiter for a maximum of 25 guests is tolerable. I can't understand the owner of this restaurant ! That's the reason why I give only 4 stars. The owner should know about this. He or she has to hire much more staff. But if the owner answers my complaint with an understandable answer, I'll upgrade this review to 5 stars. Update on 23/09/2024 at 07pm: Thanks for your quick response ;-) Now, as promised, 5 Stars !!!
Stephan F — Google review
The restaurant's wok pad tai with prawns tasted worse than eating a bad kebab. Not even animals would be able to eat such a dish. It had an aftertaste at the end that left a lot to be desired. Undoubtedly the worst Wok I have ever eaten in my life. If chicote came I would not be able to continue after the first spoonful. This restaurant leaves a lot to be desired and shows their poor skill in Asian cuisine.
Carla — Google review
Delicious tapas and good atmosphere! The mussels and tuna tataki were amazing, and the service was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for a relaxed lunch or dinner.
Barbara P — Google review
Great food and great service! We had the tuna from Tarifa and the chicken burger, both were delicious. We couldn’t resist ordering dessert afterwards and were not disappointed - the chocolate mousse and the cheesecake were both absolutely fantastic. All in all a wonderful restaurant, highly recommend. They have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options as well.
Fiona B — Google review
We visited the restaurant three times during our stay in Tarifa, so I'm not sure what to talk about first. We ordered a wide variety of dishes and always had delicious food served. Fresh and local ingredients, clearly prepared with a lot of love. The soup was one of the best I had ever eaten. A lot of dishes have vegan or vegetarian options as well. We were particularly impressed by the local lemonades and avocado cake desert. Very different but deliciuous. Friendly staff as well, we'll probably come back here in the future.
Bert B — Google review
Excellent food and service! The quality of the ingredients just blows you away. We ate the Hummus Meze, Nachos and Veggie Burger with vegan cheese. The patty in the veggie burger was one of the we've ever tasted! 10/10 recommend. Note: You should make table reservation in advance
Markus L — Google review
This is by far the best restaurant that I had the pleasure of being a guest, twice, while visiting from abroad. The atmosphere and staff are outstanding, beyond that the food was amazing. All dishes I ordered were presented well and tasted even better. The food is obvously prepared fresh and the ingredients are of high quality. Do your self a favor and frequent this establishment early and often during your time in Tarifa!!

THE most beautiful evening for dinner. Gorgeous ambience, incredible food (worth the wait if they are busy - order a Ribera from the beginning to keep you occupied and have good company!) and super, super lovely waitstaff. So grateful to have dined here and will return again to try other items on the menu. Next to the harbor, so a heavenly walk home too.

Nestled in the charming old town of Tarifa, Andrea's Brunch is a delightful haven for those who adore leisurely breakfasts and brunches. This cozy café specializes in an array of mouthwatering options, from delectable crepes and hearty sandwiches to vibrant fruit bowls and wholesome cereals. For a unique twist, you can indulge in their hummus paired with fresh veggies or savor one of the most exquisite cheesecakes around.
This wonderful place opens early, unlike most others. At 8:15 in the morning, you can already enjoy a strong coffee here. Their flat white is absolutely delicious. They also serve breakfast. The staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy. I’m leaving this review because I couldn’t find this place on Google Maps when I was looking early coffee place. I hope someone discovers it thanks to my feedback. Enjoy!
Katerina K — Google review
I've been to Tarifa a number of times. Our usual vegan place was closed Mondays and Tuesday, so a quick search suggested Andrea's. It gets, just, 4 out of 5. There is a good choice of specially made food. Some of the sweets looked fantastic and the one I had was very good. The salads were spot on. No food quality grumbles; all good to fine. The menu is a little confusing TBH. BTW, when there are 4 people, give them 4 menus! Great to see real vegan choices. The setting is visually good and creative; there is outside street seating. To the crunch; THE big thing that needs looking at is the engagement and interpersonal skills of the serving lady. It was all accurate and functional, don't get me wrong, but there was no real engagement or warmth: this place deserves it. Her role is also to make us feel welcomed and come back, and recommend the place. She didn't really do this. In hospitality, in a place like central Tarifa, with all the nationalities that enjoy this location, you also have to address the lowest common communication denominator, and that is to (try to) use English, if the situation and context means it is necessary....and of whatever standard - it doesn't matter. Interrelate with the customer's poor Spanish! A team effort! This last point may grate with some, but if you've ever run a business like this, you'll understand that your reception and engagement people, or front of house, simply have to have the personality and (effort to engage with the) lowest common denominator language, English - it has nothing to do with national identities, or any of that nonsense. It's just good for business in Tarifa. So, overall it's quite good - some of the food is very good indeed based on what we had - but the engagement, welcome and buzz may be less than the establishment's imagery suggests. Go and see what you experience: maybe it was just our luck of the draw.
Moon H — Google review
The vegan crepe was out of this world! My partner got the açaí bowl and was equally amazed at the taste, presentation and overall deliciousness. Do yourself a favor and have brunch here when you’re in Tarifa.

Very good coffee from a professional machine. Breaktfast was nice too and prepared with love & care. I could have stayed there for hours listening to the 50s Blues.
Niklas R — Google review
Food was a bit pricey but nothing special at all. Weird restaurant that has no washrooms and is “unable”to split the bill of a table, might be inconvenient for them But not impossible. So overall, they charge you for being a “hip-vegan-gluten free- and what not-restaurant”but service and friendless of stuff is $0 worth.

Excellent coffee. Delicious food. Healthy choice, colourful, rich in flavour. Super nice staff. Good prices. This was our favourite place to come for breakfast during our stay in Tarifa.

Much nicer with the owner present. She is kind and patient as we try to speak in Spanish. Today my daughter ordered a gluten free vegan Oreo crepe…not only did multiple people revive their crepes and orders before her when it arrived it was without the cream of the Oreo?? They mentioned this is as they placed it on the table? Why sell what you don’t have? Not even worth finishing….

A cappuccino like no other was the perfect finish to a wonderful meal and experience!

The quality of the fish was good and the service was great. The lighting lets it down. It’s very school cafetería with the harsh bright white lighting. Slightly dimmer and with softer light would really change the vibe.

Fresh fresh fresh- We have visited Tarifa twice and both times have dined at El Ancla! It is a cute homey restaurant right by the water (port of Tarifa). The service is unbeatable as the wait staff is extremely attentive and the owner is there to ensure everything is running smoothly. The seafood is absolutely fresh and feels as though it was JUST fished out of the ocean. I would definitely recommend making a reservation before visiting as it gets very busy, particularly during the summer (High season).

We saw some of them around town and they actually recognized us and said hi. The place was cozy and I could spend hours chatting with friends. Food was of course delicious. The owners are Italian so the coffee is fanatic!

A perfect place for breakfast! The shakes are fresh and delicious, and the Andalusian breakfast is simply outstanding — full of flavor and beautifully served. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot to start the day. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a tasty and authentic breakfast experience.

Cozy and warm venue with friendly staff. Tried the egg and bacon dish, and it tasted like expected (just average). Could have added more veggies and used better bread. It’s only a four star as I found the prices a bit high and the americano (coffee) was really not good.

Best breakfast in Tarifa. I’ve been here few times and definitely my favourite. Great variety and quality.

Friendly staff, good and fresh food. Thank you for having gluten-friendly options. I had yogurt bowl with A LOT of fruit. (More fruit than yogurt.) Others had Don Enrique and Americano and Croissant Nutella.

This is the perfect place to start your day in Tarifa. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality of the food. We loved the fresh fruit smoothies and the acai bowl is delicious. I'd highly recommend ordering one of their freshly made crepes or the Don Enrique if you like salmon for breakfast. We'll definitely be back when we return to Tarifa!

Brasería Vaca Loca is a popular restaurant located in the old town of Tarifa. It offers a variety of mouthwatering dishes, including an 800g steak of Retinto beef, fillet of Iberico pork, grilled chicken, and lamb. The ambiance is lively and the staff are friendly despite being busy. The mojitos served here are highly recommended while waiting for a table. The restaurant's quiet location adds to its charm and it's well worth seeking out.
Excellent food, chef cooks on a wood fire charcoal bbq and the results are excellent. We had the ribeye steak, fillet steak and chicken , all excellent. Service is great. You can reserve, common for most restaurants, seated in 20 mins for table of 5. Highly recommend

Best meat I’ve ever had until now (I’m 30) if you are in Tarifa i totally recommend you to try it! Everything was delicious! Merci au chef
Andrei D — Google review
It is hard to impress me with steak since I made steak on charcoal, gas grill, cast iron pan and pizza fire oven. But Juan ( chef ) did an outstanding job. He knows his cut and how long to keep it on the grill to be perfectly medium rare! What is also noteworthy that he asked the staff if the customer wants the steak to be more grilled he is happy to do so, nice chef who understands the customer and their wishes. Food was very good, we had steak and pork secreto. Salad was nice and pastas fritas as most places do in Spain. Service was very busy but pleasant despite the constant inflow of people. I like inside and outside but inside you get to watch the grilling in action which is very enjoyable. See I don’t want to recommend this place because everyone wants to go and I won’t get a spot. It is a must do on your list!!!

We arrived without a reservation, so we had to wait at the bar for about 30 minutes for a free table — but it was totally worth it. The staff was very friendly. While waiting, I could see the chef and the grill, and I noticed they were following all hygiene procedures. The food was truly excellent — both in quality and portion size. I’ll gladly come back here again. Great job, friends!

My second visit. Superb food quality and portions specialising in grilled meats. Great service. Located in the heart of the old town. The homemade sausage was top.

Great for meat lovers, meat grilled on a charcoal fire behind the bar. Always a queue/waiting list for tables, but worth the weight.

Phenomenal food, phenomenal service. Make sure you arrive in time otherwise wait times can get high. It's worth it though. Just a main dish, cooked to perfection. You'll leave a happy person.

An extremely warm welcome – we had a drink at lunchtime and dined in the evening. The place is honest enough to tell you that if you’re just having a drink during meal hours, you may be kindly asked to give up your table – but always with goodwill. In the evening, since we hadn’t booked, we had to wait about 20 minutes before being seated, but the meal (a single set menu – no starters or desserts) was incredible. I had excellent lamb chops, truly sublime. The restaurant’s concept is well defined, the service is excellent, and the price is very reasonable. Bravo!

Situated beneath the famous Iglesia de San Mateo, this restaurant provides a prime location with a charming terrace. The star dishes include seafood soup, grilled tuna, and homemade almond flan for dessert. It's known for its delicious food and friendly service.
Very nice place to eat. The food was lovely, the service was great and the atmosphere just right. The price was definitely value for money. Would definitely recommend 👌

Based on the reviews we chose this place "in a pinch". Let's start with the good: the service was friendly + fast and the fried baby squids and leg of lamb were very tasty. Unfortunately the Lamb Chobs were a big disappointment: it looked and tasted boiled, even though it was supposed to be grilled. The dessert coffee was quite good
Timo J — Google review
This is an average south of spain restaurant prototype, nothing special. Basic food with basic taste. The service was kind with us and the environment is okey. Restaurant is located close to the center town.

Seafood soup is absolutely disgusting. The first time I couldn't finish paella. Frozen seafood. The sauce is really bad... And extremely overpriced for this quality ..You can easily get poisoned.. The place is good only for drinks
Aleksandar V — Google review
We ordered spaghetti at the restaurant for take away. A bolognese and carbonara. The service was quick and staff was nice, but the result of the food was terrible. To start with the worst: the bolognese smelled disgusting. As if the meat had been heated up several times. The meat was mushy in a negative way and tasted like it smelled. It was inedible. Salt and pepper was necessary for the carbonara. Also, all the cream that had been used was separated from the oil and not emulsified. Although it didn't smell like spoiled meat, the portion was half as small as the bolognese (not as shown in the photo, we already ate it). I would NOT RECOMMEND any of these pastas. If the rest is as bad as the pastas, I would not recommend the restaurant. How hard is it to make a pasta that you don't want to throw away?
Elise — Google review
I think a picture is worth a 1000 words. Whereas the service is good and atmosphere is lovely, what's on the picture is, in the opinion of the reataurant, espresso machiatto and Spanish omelette. I would call it coffee-fkavired milk and frozen potatoes with eggs on top, warmed up on the skillet

Nestled in the charming old quarter of Tarifa, Mandragora is a delightful culinary gem that transports you straight to Morocco with its exquisite flavors. This elegant eatery specializes in traditional Moroccan dishes, including the beloved lamb and plum tagine, savory falafel, and creamy hummus. Guests rave about the warm hospitality provided by the attentive staff who ensure a memorable dining experience. For those with a sweet tooth, Mandragora also offers an array of delectable desserts alongside a diverse wine selection.
Magnificent place with amazing service. I advise everyone who can't go for a trip to Morocco to try their food in this restaurant. The meat was well cooked, pudding with almost ideal consistency and the waiter was super polite and helping with recommending best dishes. Will definitely come back
Piotr G — Google review
The restaurant is located behind the church in a narrow street just a few steps away from the more lively area. It was too chilly to eat outside. The lady was helpful and friendly. The restaurant is missing some ambiance. The portions of the main dish are not big so luckily we started dinner with a starter. Food is okay but we expected a more typical and spicy experience. They serve automatically a sweet mint tea after dinner.
Layla A — Google review
We had the off-season luxury of having the whole restaurant for ourselves for a good half an hour. The service is very kind and polite and there is a street cat coming to get his daily food, which we love. There is some sort of simbiosis happening in this place, pretty magical. We had the tagine tuna and the tagine lamb and they were both fantastic. I would 100% recommend the lamb especially. If you are also someone who doesnt eat a LOT, then maybe skip the bread with falafel and hummus cause we couldnt finish all the food afterwards… the falafel were however, very crunchy and tasty! Thank you!

Absolutely delicious !!! This charming restaurant offers a variety of food. Moroccan dishes are super tasty, try Chicken cuscus and stuffed Eggplants. And there’re choices, which are not Moroccan as well . We ordered Grilled Boletus, seasonal mushrooms, and were served Porcini !!!! Piece of advice: if you are a foreigner make sure you book the table and you are on time if you ever want to eat there! I’m not sure if the rules are set up by the owner or by the manager of the place but she, the manager had an absolute disrespectful attitude towards me and my company every single time I came in since June 2025. (3 times in a row) First time, at the beginning of June when they didn’t have the sunbeds yet, I had a table reservation for lunch, but because we were late 30 min I called and let them know we would arrive late. She ( the manager) cancelled our reservation, we arrived at the place, waited another hour for another table while staying at the small chairs in front of the stairs and drunk something. When we finally got a table, we left occupied the 2 small chairs from the sand. While we were eating, she came to ask us to take our stuff from those chairs as we were keeping them occupied without consumation and apparently there were ppl waiting in line to take them….there was no one waiting and I asked her for 2 glasses of wine or something to consume if that’s the problem. She answered: “we don’t do like this here”. Long story short, we had to finish food in 5 min and go back to the sand chairs, cause they don’t allow you to spend whole day at the restaurant table either. For the last 2 visits, I paid the sunbeds but I didn’t get a table, when I asked her politely to add us on a waiting list for a table, she said there is no no place or waiting list. I have to mention, today we were lucky we got a table after more than 30 min waiting, even though there were free tables for more than one hour. She prefers to keep the tables empty and ppl that paid for sunbeds ( not ppl from the beach) to just keep waiting for a table. I’m not sure if is an attitude towards foreigners or in general, or maybe just towards me, because I noticed the staff is way more nicer with local ppl. On top of all these, I do speak Spanish and all my conversations with her and with the staff were in Spanish, no reason to say there was a misunderstanding. lived in Spain for 10 years and I’ve never been treated by any place in this manner, not even in Barcelona. So, I can say after 3 times visiting this place in the last month, even though I really like the place I cannot deal with such a disrespectful manager and definitely is not a place to recommend or bring my friends to.

Very busy bar in a wonderful locatiom, quite small inside with extra seating on the beach. Very friendly and efficient staff. There was live music on the night we were there and there was quite a party atmosphere, with singing and dancing. Even with all that going on inside, we were still able to sit outside on the beach chairs and watch the sun go down in relative peace. Wonderful !

No. 6 Cocina Sencilla may translate to "simple cooking," but this trendy spot in Tarifa offers inventive and delicious tapas. The stylish interior sets the stage for Spanish classics like patatas bravas, alongside more creative options such as tuna bruschetta and broccoli tart, with plenty of vegetarian choices available.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Food here was amazing! This zucchini noodle and prawn dish was fantastic; huge portion and tons of flavor and so reasonably priced €14. After being in Spain for a spell and eating tons of meat and bread I needed a change. If you find yourself at the tip, tip bottom of Europe and want a delightful meal at a reasonable price with extremely friendly people this is a must!!!

We tried the tapas and it was perfect. The service is nice and fast enough. The choice of the menu is wide and they have affordable prices. Maybe the gambas al ajillo could have more ajillo ,becsuse I did not feel it. Recommended

Even though the attention could be improved I will still give Nº6 5*, because the food was fabulous, and the waiter politely took on board my comments regarding the service. We were the only diners for the majority of our lunch time, and it took some work to get attention. The menu is a wonderful refreshing change from so many restaurants these days. Something for everyone. Presentation and flavours all on point. We will definitely return.

Best restaurant we have been to in Andalucia. We had a starter to share, 2 mains, 1 desert to share and 2 copas for 55€, for 2 people. We had octopus and tuna steak. It was very very disappointing. I have been there few times before and it is not my favourite place. There are better spaces in Tarifa. I was there over the weekend with friends and we have ordered couple of cakes and drinks. I wanted coffee they told me they don't serve coffee. ( which I have had it ion my previous visit) Then 5 minutes past I have noticed table behind us was having a coffee. I ask other waiter why they say no coffee but serving coffee to other table? He told us he will ask and came back saying they have had a food therefore the coffee is only for people ordered food. ( Bit stupid). I wasn't satisfy with the answer. Then i saw them. serving coffee to other table also i ask again this is not really cool. They said they only work there and they don't make the rules. And I ask them to talk to manager or person in charge setting this rules is nonsense. Bottom line is; I did not care about coffee at this point but the stupidity they have set them self up to was really annoying. First thing; you re not a Micheline Star restaurant and u got bookings and ur place is full u need tables to be turn in specific time. Place has strange WC also. I wont be going there again, wont recommend it unless u like to get humiliated with ur own money.

Ridiculous that this place is called cafe del mar. The worst service ever. (Waiter prefers to smoke a cigarette instead of attending clients). Food is disgusting. Toilets are super dirty. Really disgusting and worst quality i saw in recent years.

Feels like the owners changed, I have been here a couple of times over the last years and really liked it. Now there’s always something annoying about this place. I went here once for a drink and we were not allowed to sit I the sofa area because we didn’t want to order food - we literally were the only guests.. Next time I come and they tell me they turned off the coffee machine at 4pm. This time I come, sit outside to have a coffee and later a call. I took my laptop checked the battery and the waitress (after ignoring me for 10min) comes and tell me, no hello or anything, with an angry face: „no laptops outside“. The place was half empty. Outside furniture is full of bird poop, birds are flying inside in the cafe. Music is too loud to have a call or work without noise cancelling headphones. A bit sad what happened to that cafe…

This was my first trip to Tarifa and we celebrated my birthday dinner here. What an awesome experience, one of my friends is Vegan and my partner is gluten-free, there were options for both of them and their meals came out perfectly. The atmosphere is great, the house wines are delicious and the service is attentive, kind, thoughtful, and welcoming to all guests no matter if local or visiting. I would highly recommend this for a small or large group, and get the dessert! Carrot cake and the basil sorbet are two of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my entire life and I usually ski on out on dessert, just wow. Enjoy, you don’t want to miss this place!

The location is amazing, the wine list is more amazing. The food looks good in the pictures but in the plate is so and so. They use the same salsa for most plates, so most dishes tasted the same. The brioche with shrimps was amazing. The staff is nice but they don’t pay much attention to the tables. The bartender is pretty good.

I’m so disappointed with this place. My first night in Tarifa I come here and check out the menu. Extremely excited for 8€ ribs. Decided to come back later. 2 days later I spend 3 hours looking for this place. Unaware they are closed until 7:30 I walk around all of old town just to find this. The locals help me and tell them my situation, how I spent so long finding this place. I finally sit down and order and they tell me they won’t serve half plate ribs, only full plates. I only have enough €$ for half plate. I’m devastated and extremely disappointed. They lack apathy. After walking 30 minutes to old town, searching for 2 hours for the restaurant, then waiting another 30 minutes for them to open (they ended up opening late, closer to 8pm) They wouldn’t just help me with a half plate of ribs. I ended up getting the burger that looks pathetic. I regret wasting my time & effort here. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Customer service sucks.

Fear not, the gates of heaven await you. Everything that my eyes feasted on was rich, the smells were rich, a small space with a rich embrace, the people were rico and the most precious of all was the food. The highest quality meat crossed my lips and I was sure I had ascended to the pearly gates.

If you want to get a taste of local history, this is one of them. Hidden in a lane of the historic part of the town. No bookings, no frizzles, they always have a spot for you. Get the ham and the carpaccio, get whatever is on the menu. Is just classic, simple and served with carisma from the host and the team. Adid I say they serve cured ham? If not you'll probably see a few hanging around just as car deodorant, the finest car deodorant

Great local products. Super fast service but also chill. The pork carpaccio was exceptionally great. Nice place for a date or with friends. No booking, grab something to drink while you wait for your table.

Nestled within the charming Hotel & Spa La Residencia Puerto, El Patio Restaurante Tarifa is a culinary gem that celebrates honest cooking. With a commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients, this restaurant crafts both traditional and innovative dishes that reflect their passion for conscious cuisine. Guests rave about the delightful breakfast spread, featuring unique offerings like a vegetable juice machine and fresh hazelnut spread dispenser, all beautifully presented. While some dishes may have room for improvement in flavor and creativity, the overall ambiance is enchanting.
My wife and I had breakfast here as part of our stay. One of the best spreads we have seen in our numerous stays throughout Europe. Some items were even a first - a vegetable juice making machine and a fresh hazelnut spread dispenser 🤯. Everything is so beautifully laid out. A very wide selection for every choice. I may have had more choices in other locations, but the "artful" layout is very impressive. Thank you very much for such a great breakfast experience 😀🍽👍.

My partner and I myself had an amazing night at El Patio; we got the seafood paella which was to die for along with lovely wine and atmosphere. Our waiter Giorgio was fantastic and really made sure we had a brilliant night, we will definitely return and recommend to our friends and family.

Nice place and good food! Overpriced though. The service was amazing, the waiter was kind and smiling, helping with the food choice. I tried eggplant (out of menu) - soooo good! And curry with chicken - spicy, but that’s what you need to have after the windy day 🥰🙏 I recommend this place for a nice dinner, if you want to dress up a bit and have more special atmosphere.

Very pretty place with lots of plants, an andalusian style courtyard and elegant layout. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food - the tuna starter was amazing, so was the paella and local wines. Many thanks!

We noticed the restaurant while walking and decided to go in for dinner. It was a good call. The ambiance is very nice, the waiters are professional and speak English and they have a couple od vegetarian options, which is a bit rare in this part od Spain. The food was not as tasty as expected, but it was ok. The cheesecake was divine, tho!

We had both the vegan and fish paella as well as a child’s burger meal + desserts and sangria. All were excellent, in particular the sangria and vegan paella were probably the best we’ve had. The staff are friendly and attentive and the restaurant is attached to a hotel with a nice area for kids to play (room to the side). Overall very pleased and would definitely recommend
Adam W — Google review
Interior and service 10/10 Drinks also pretty good by the menu was very boring and my chicken with couscous was extremely bland and dry ( breast) with soggy - I’m guessing steamed courgettes and carrots; I’d imagine grilled veggies would suit the dish better and the herbs were lacking. The chef needs a bit more imagination and experience otherwise restaurant is very beautiful.

Guests rave about the delicious Chachouka dish and homemade cakes, emphasizing the warm hospitality and multilingual welcome provided by the young artist owner and talented cook landlady.

El Taller 2.0 is a pleasant cafe, bar and restaurant with a French chef located in the old part of a Tarifa, Spain. I went to this cafe-bar-restaurant in 2017 and again in June 2018, and I liked the food, particularly the delicious breakfast and of course the coffee. This place is small but becoming increasingly popular, similar to Cafe 10. El Taller 2.0 is a highly recommended stop for a break to eat very well prepared food, and it does have reliably strong WiFi. El Taller 2.0 only takes payment in cash, Euros, so you cannot pay with credit cards.

Found a great place in the old town of Tarifa called El Taller 2.0 homemade food that is really tasty and all made with fresh organic grown vegetables. The French / Bretagne couple that own the small cafe restaurant they are artists and their work adorns the walls of the cafe. The food really is amazing, the quiche is to die for and the goats cheese salad is really amazing. For dessert we took the Orange tart that is really fresh and super orange tasty. Given 5 stars as it was a true great experience with awesome atmosphere. The owners are really friendly and helpful also very welcoming. Whilst sitting here also met a friend who I met when living in Tarifa over 12 years ago..

Super bad! They don’t respect their customers. Super disrespectful waitress. Awful! Today we went there to have brunch and the moment the waitress came to clean the table, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, she pushed my chair and moved me while i was sitting there. So unacceptable and rude!! If they don’t know how to take care of people, they shouldn’t own a coffee!! Don’t go there if you want to have a nice experience! AWFUL! DISRESPECTFUL! GROSS! MUY MALA! BAJA CALIDAD DE SERVICIO!!! MUY IRRESPETUOSA CAMARERA! MUY MALA EXPERIENCIA!

Everything was perfect! The food is home made, mostly locally sourced and so delicious! They have a nice selection of wine and non-alcoholic drinks. The vegan cheese cake was excellent and not too sweet. There are many vegan options. Plus, the place is cosy and the service very nice.

Amazing food and experience. Not only is the setting quite nice, and the atmosphere being so close to the beach, but the food was excellent. We ordered the ensaladilla, the fruit salad and tree different homemade pasta dishes, and everything was superb. Flavorful, al dente and full of nutty flavors. We also ordered a crepe for dessert, and I’d never tried a better vegan one. Absolutely recommend it and we’ll visit again soon.

10/10 on the food. The best vegetarian food I ate in Tarifa. I had the Ravioli and it was absolutely delicious. One of those meals you eat and think about after. Makes me wish I lived in Tarifa to be nearer to this fabulous restaurant. Service was also good and server was friendly. Located near to the beach. A must visit for any vegetarian whilst in Tarifa. Even if not a vegetarian, this restaurant will deliver great tasting food that will make you realise you don't need meat and fish to make tasty meals. Vegan options are also available.

Dear Brio Team We visited your wonderful and charming restaurant yesterday, and it was a sensational culinary discovery! The exquisite food with its new vegan recipes delighted us – it was simply outstanding. For us, it was the discovery in Tarifa. A true explosion of flavors – from the starter to the dessert, every dish amazed us. A real festival of delicious, refined dishes! Anyone who loves vegan cuisine should definitely visit this restaurant – highly recommended. The service was also exceptionally friendly and helpful – we would like to express our heartfelt thanks for that. A special thank-you to Javier for the excellent recommendation! When we return to Tarifa, we will definitely come back. Warmest regards Martine and Sebastian

This place is close to the beach, it has a huge menu where all the vegetarian options can be veganized, the food is prepared and served with great care (and it's yummy!), the cakes are all vegan... Wow! I would certainly recommend the Panzerotti (fried pizza dough stuffed with veggies and cheese) and the home made ravioli. The cold pumpkin appetizer is to die for. There are baby seats and the bathroom is equipped to change babies.

A wonderful niche spot to eat in Tarifa! The menu was big and the food was just phenomenal. Outstanding restaurant because of the Bio/Vegan food there, which is rare at the area. The waitress was really friendly and her English was good as well. The spot near the playa was beautiful and not to busy/loud. Definitely a recommendation for everyone who wants to eat not just the typical Spanish food.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner here, the food was excellent and presented with little extras to pair flavours and a desire to make a memorable meal for all the right reasons. Well worth a visit even if you are not a vegan but simply craving some fresh experiences and a change from the typical chiringuito menu.

While some flavors shine with vibrant taste and others impress with their creamy texture, the overall experience is enjoyable.
Very nice ice-cream shop. Here you experience fantastic flavours, it is 100% home made, many vegan flavours (fruit based ones and also the chocolate one). I cannot wait to go back, it is really for me till now the best “Gelato” place in Tarifa.

I’ve tried the cherry and pistachio flavors and they were both very delicious. Although I’ve tried better ones in Tarifa. Still, recommended.
Hilal B — Google review
Pricey, overpricey. For a small portion picked with standard ice cream spoon. That was disapointing for 4€. (i was sure we have overpriced ice cream in Bratislava, 3€, but small portion is much more bigger than here) Taste was good.
Simone M — Google review
I'm often mocked for always choosing vanilla ice cream when their's usually a few wild and different flavours, but if you can't do vanilla right I'm not interested in whatever else is on offer, so in 45 years I've tried a hell of a lot of vanilla ice cream, and Casa Del Gelato in Tarifa is by far the best vanilla ice cream I've ever had in my entire life absolutely transcendent. I even went back to sample the Oreo (also by far the best fusion I've tried) and of course went back for more vanilla ❤️

Gelato lovers are a peculiar bunch. We want flavour, but texture is so much of the equation. Here, some of the flavours sing, and some of the textures, but rarely simultaneously. It's a good place. Just not a great place.

Our favourite cafe in Tarifa; we spent our week visiting various places and this one stands out with the combination of traditional Spanish dishes and more bold flavours. Food arrived within 10minutes even though the place was full at the time. We will be definitely coming back!
M S — Google review
Good coffee, cosy place! They have the Oatly barista oat milk, which in my opinion, is the best oat milk to make coffees with. The flat white was more like a little cappuccino than a flat white, but the coffee is good and would definitely come again! The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is great. As someone who is, at the moment, working remotely, is not great that they are “laptop-free” until 15:00. This is the main reason I give a 4 stars and not 5. But if you are looking for a place to chill and have a coffee or have a coffee to go, then this place is 👍🏻 Gracias!

The sweets are tasty but the service is very poor. We were there in the early afternoon and we couldn't order a lot of what was on the menu. Therefore we had to reconsider while the waitress was taking our order. Suddenly she walked away and we had to wait even longer until we could to order. Later she served the dishes rather unfriendly. This unwelcoming attitude made the stay at this place very uncomfortable.
Thomas A — Google review
Café 10 in Tarifa is my permanent replacement for the poorly run Café Central which after a whole year still does not have WiFi, and no one seems to care to fix it. The owner and manager should be ashamed for poor service, and rude and careless staff. Café 10 is just up the road and it always has a crowd of young people and tourists of all ages, who often bring their laptops and portable telephones to check emails while enjoying a crepe, a delicious sandwich on fresh bread, a fruit juice drink, a cafe, soda, bottled water, beer or a glass of wine. Café 10 has very tasty food that is artistically presented, and it also has delicious breakfasts. I stopped here two times in one day, for a coffee and later a warm sandwich, which was substantial and reasonably priced. I am very pleased that Café 10 always has strong WiFi. It is a charming informal place that is very popular. There is seating inside, and outside there are a few tables in the sun. Occasionally I eat outside in the sunshine on the slightly sloping cobblestone road. On another visit a charming and efficient waiter took my order for a hot sandwich of mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes and avocado on excellent whole wheat multigrain bread and a cappuccino coffee. My food was ready in less than 10 minutes, despite the crowd of people inside and outside. Café 10 is definitely one of the hidden gems in the old part of Tarifa. Try it in the morning for breakfast with orange juice, or in the late afternoon or early evening for a coffee, beer, glass of wine, fresh fruit, fruit juice smoothie, or a slice of delicious cake or crepe. The "oldie" music from the late 60s and early 70s really brought back memories. I ordered a large café con leche and when it was brought to my table by the waitress, I was astonished to see that it was one of the largest cups of coffee I have ever had in my entire life. At Café 10, the service is always fast and all the waiters and waitresses are efficient and friendly. There are amazing cocktails and assorted cold beers. The Polish owner is a pleasant woman who told me that her café probably would be closed for a few months during the winter. However, on my arrival on December 4th, 2017, the place was open. I enjoyed a delicious lunch with a huge soup-bowl sized coffee, and the friendly English-speaking waitress told me they decided to remain open all winter.
