Nestled in the picturesque Peak District, Colemans Deli is a delightful café and restaurant that doubles as an event space. This charming spot offers a diverse menu featuring European cuisine, including expertly prepared steaks that cater to various tastes. Whether you're looking for a hearty meal or just a light snack, Colemans Deli has something for everyone. Its inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal place to relax after exploring the stunning surroundings of Hathersage.
Called in after a walk with the wife. Excellent service. Food was also good, had the chilli chicken sandwich we I have had before and recommend. The cakes are also very good, original and homemade.

Perfect little spot for post-Higger Tor hikers! A short 5 minute drive from the National Park which was great after working up an appetite. Food was tasty, arrived quickly and the staff were happy and friendly. They stop serving food from their main menu at 3pm so when we arrived at 2:30pm they had run out of a few things, but the alternatives I chose were lovely.
Claudia — Google review
Had the soup of the day served with fresh sourdough bread, the chef highlighted his dressing and seasoning of the bread which made it more special. Generous portions! As well as a Lovely gingerbread hot chocolate - service was phenomenal, friendly and helpful. All staff clearly take pride in their work. A wonderful atmosphere after a day hiking and swimming. Would come back for this cafe alone.
Heather C — Google review
The staff were welcoming, friendly and very accommodating with the pram we had with us making sure we had a table with plenty of room. The drinks were spot on and the cakes tasty. Highly recommend to visit for a grab and go or sit and eat.

We were thinking about this lunch while hiking around Bamford Edge and it did not disappoint. The chilli chicken sandwhich was delicious. The granary bread and bacon also tasted amazing. Coffee and service was also lovely. Couldn't recommend more!
Jess L — Google review
Such a lovely place. Delicious food and coffee. And the chocolate tiffin was delicious as was the almond croissant and the bacon brie and rocket focacia. Lovely staff and thank you to a kind lady (staff) who helped my friend when she bumped into the glass door she was very attentive and kind. Highly recommend

Outstanding in every way. The food is extremely good, and all the staff are friendly and on the ball. I'm looking forward to going back.
Paul F — Google review
This cafe used to be fantastic and have many great food options but it seems they’ve changed it up a bit and the food is quite underwhelming now. Sausage roll was soggy and not crisp, chicken sandwich was quite disappointing and no sign of the black pudding scotch egg they used to do and have now got a sweet potato one? Quite a shame. The chorizo toastie and coffee were very tasty and I was happy with those. Also the tablet asking for tips seems a bit too American, not a fan of it.

Cafe
The Penny Pot Cafe is a charming spot nestled near Edale Station, making it convenient for visitors arriving by train from Manchester or Sheffield. The cafe offers delightful hot chocolates and features indoor seating with a wood-burning stove, as well as outdoor seating under trees and a covered area for shelter during rainy days in the Peak District. Additionally, it boasts a book swap library where patrons can exchange books or make donations.
Such a beautiful cute little cafe with plenty of seating at the rear. It used to be a train ticket office , now rebuilt as a cafe after it burnt down back then. Prompt service. Smiley faces of staff. Delicious food before starting hike.
Pnm D — Google review
Perfect place to start day or hiking. It was lil chilly day so try to grab a coffee on my way. They were busy at the time but still hood and quick service. Very convenient location next to station.
Win T — Google review
The only option for food around here so it's not like you have a choice, doesn't really matter what I write in this review 😁 It was good though. Cyclists stop here on their 5,000 mile ride to rest and refuel. It has a nice vibe to it.
Mana J — Google review
This cafe must get missed by so many people, head towards the station and you will come across the most unassuming building housing a little gem of a cafe, nestled in the Edale valley with wonderful home made pastries and good selection of coffees and teas. There is also plenty of seating inside and out (front and out back). It’s a must to try if you’re just stopping off, or finishing a walk, I would highly recommend it.
Steve C — Google review
The café is conveniently situated adjacent to the train station. Inside, a display provides the upcoming train schedules, ensuring you won't miss your connection. Furthermore, the availability of Wi-Fi is quite advantageous, especially given the lack of a data signal in the vicinity. I found the mocha coffee to be quite enjoyable, and the cherry bakewell was simply superb.
Jiri V — Google review
The great place to start your adventure in this area. Clean toilet. Next to the bus stop and the train platform. They also gave a free walking trail map. Absolutely recommended to visit.
Juthathat K — Google review
Did Mam Tor and Kinder Scout few days ago from Edale. Once you hop off the train, you'll be greeted by this quaint cafe. I had coffee, matcha late and pastries which were all very good. My personal favorite is the carrot cake.
Albert F — Google review
Such a friendly cafe. I stopped here for a coffee at 8am before setting out on a walk and the gentleman serving was the appropriate level of chatty and cheery even at such an early time. I'll be planning more walks featuring this lovely cafe.

Hassop Station Cafe and Monsal Trail Cycle Hire is a charming spot located on the edge of the Peak District, offering a variety of experiences for visitors. The old station building houses a bright cafe with cosy sofas and a large sun terrace facing the Monsal Trail.
Been here a few times for breakfast and coffees. The staff are fantastic so friendly and courteous. The food is out of this world, probably not a good idea to have a big breakfast before going for a big walk as my husband has found out but still insists on having them haha. I highly recommend going, we drive over an hour to visit.
Dawn B — Google review
We had a very disappointing experience at the Hassop Station Cafe. When we first arrived, we were impressed by the extensive menu after a very long walk. We ordered at the till, but the person who took our order didn’t input it correctly. After a while, we received one of our meals and patiently waited for the other. However, that one never came so I went to check on what’s going on. They had only put through one meals despite there clearly being two of us? Oh well, mistakes happen and I reordered the second meal. While dealing with that, my partner’s fish finger sandwich had gone stone cold. So she went to look for cutlery so we could share it (rather than make a scene and send it back). There were none in any of the canteen style trays provided because it was quite busy, fair enough. So she asked a staff member for a knife - only to be met with an eye roll and a patronising response to look in the trays despite already doing so. It just felt like we were being an inconvenience to the staff. Overall, we were looking forward to visiting after seeing good reviews online and on social media - we just had a disappointing experience. The food was average but expensive.

Lots to see and do at Hassop Station Cafe. Right on thw Monsal trail, this ex train station building has been transformed into a hub for those undertaking outdoor bound activities in the nearby area. Easy access, traffic free access onto the picturesque monsal trail coupled with various bike hire options aids with this. Hassop cafe is also a solid food and drink choice in itself. There is a good eange of savoury and sweet options across the site including pizzas outside in summer. I have had various of these on numerous visits and can attest for their quality across the board. There is a large shop attached to the cafe selling a range of items produced in the local area. Service I have received here has always been friendly and helpful.
REG — Google review
We stopped off at Hassop Station to break our journey home from visiting our family. We ordered a Hassop big breakfast, which we shared between the two of us. The breakfast arrived very quickly and was piping hot. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the coffee which was also excellent. Thank you to all the pleasant staff, which make Hassop Station a joy to stop at for a break and a special thanks to the chefs and kitchen team we don't see working behind the scenes preparing the food we enjoy. Looking forward to stopping off again soon.
Tom L — Google review
Called in for lunch and had a great meal. We had the ploughman's and the steak & ale pie. Both were large meals and spot on. Despite being busy we didn't have to wait too long for the food to come out. Be careful where you park. Part of the car park is for visitors to the cafe and is free, but the majority of the car park is pay & disply display.
Craig H — Google review
Bike hire gave us a bike with a flat tire but that was quickly replaced when we returned it. Cafe was a shambles - dirty crockery, they'd run out of cutlery and the food took 55 minutes to arrive. Had to pay for extra parking as a result. No apology, no offer of a free drink and no mention of a huge wait on ordering. Family next to us left after getting a refund, having waited for 45 minutes for lunch.

One of my favorite spots! The coffee is always good, and the staff are really friendly and make you feel right at home. Great place to catch up with friends, or just enjoy a good cup of coffee

The Village Green Cafe in Eyam, Derbyshire is a charming spot offering takeaway and ready meal options. This cozy cafe is known for its award-winning bakes and perfectly brewed coffee. Located in the heart of Eyam, it's a great place to grab a bite after exploring the area. The menu features delightful options, making it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike.
Absolutely lovely cafe, we have came here quite a couple times and love it. Food is absolutely incredible, healthy, delicious and very good quality. Staff are all super friendly and inviting and overall a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It’s lovely to sit in the sun outside looking at the cozy little village as you have your meal. Theres even a dog menu if you wanted to bring your pup along with you. Definitely recommend their chocolate banana loaf, super yummy. Overall absolutely lovely place and will definitely come again if we are in the area 😊❤️

Really nice little cafe situation in the centre of the town. Nice simple menu when we went they were only doing the counter food so we were too late for any sandwiches as such. However was really really nice, chicken sausage roll was amazing!! Well worth a visit whilst you are in Eaym!!

Nice food, good coffee Had a sandwich and salad, well presented. Bread was nice Polite staff A bit expensive for what you get but nice overall. The cake looks fantastic Tuna melt sandwich was lovely according to my wife. Outside seating too. Right in the middle of Eyam
Dan C — Google review
This cafe is only small but has seating inside and out, overlooking the green in Eyam. We stopped here for refreshments and enjoyed good coffee and some very nice Berry & Yoghurt cake. We found it to be clean and tidy and will definitely revisit.
J R — Google review
Small but perfectly formed, describes this venue! Plenty of outdoor seating, but weather was a little variable for that option when we visited. Lovely staff and food that tasted every bit as good as it looked. We had spinach and feta tart and a roasted veg, chilli jam, cheese toasty, both served with a delicious homemade coleslaw, and great coffee. Not the cheapest lunch out there, but definately worth the money.
Deborah H — Google review
Beautiful little cafe in the lovely village of Eyam. Called here early this year and got an amazing jam and coconut sponge. Back in Eyam this weekend, and was determined to try it again. I was disappointed they didn't have it on Friday, but a kind member of staff said they'd have it today, Sunday - and they did!! It was as amazing as I'd remembered. Beautiful toasted sandwiches and soup at lunchtime too. Highly recommend and I look forward to returning again.

Great find on our walk today. Really nice cafe. Great coffee and cakes. Special mention to the whiskey fruit cake and banana chocolate and date loaf. Special mention to fact offered bottle of child water once we ordered. Thoroughly recommended

Deli
The Loaf bakery in Derbyshire offers a wide variety of breads, cakes, pies and pastries. All of the products are made from scratch without any added preservatives. The bakery is popular with locals and tourists alike for its unique offerings.
I visited The Loaf on Saturday 21st January. We had seen reviews online and had been looking forward to visiting for breakfast/brunch. On arrival unfortunately no tables were available so we elected to wait inside for seating to become vacant. There is a seat in the corner of the shop adjacent to the counter that you can use as you wait and the friendly shop assistant asked us would we like a drink as we wait, we took her up on the offer and noticing that only one cheddar and stout sourdough loaf was left on the shelf asked would it be possible for them to remove it from sale and hold it behind the counter until we had eaten and was leaving? Once again the assistant was happy to help. Fortunately we did not have to wait long (approximately 5 minutes) for a table to become vacant. The menu had numerous delicious sounding dishes available and between the three of us we elected to have the rarebit and poached egg, avocado and grilled halloumi and creamy garlic mushrooms all of which were served on toasted sourdough. The food was delicious and all of us enjoyed what we had ordered, the quality of the tea and coffee was also fantastic and the service was excellent throughout. In addition to the bread, pastries and cakes the bakery also has some fantastic looking preserves and other deli items for sale. I would definitely recommend visiting this establishment if you are in the area. Thank you for our delicious brunch and see you next time we are in the area.
Simon B — Google review
I took part in the half day sourdough course and it was exceptional. Keith knew everything there was to know about the bread making process. He made it informational, relaxed and fun. I ended up with two incredible loaves of sourdough as well as some Chelsea buns. Lots of snacks and drinks throughout the course was an additional bonus. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their baking. Thanks Keith and the entire Loaf team, you've got something really special here!

Ordered 2 pasties which were piping hot and really good. Called in another day for cake to take to a sick relative. Didn't get to try them but judging by the ack of choice when I got there in the afternoon they must be good

This is our local bakery. The bread is great, but I highly recommend their chicken and mushroom slices! As well as shopping we’ve also done one of their baking courses and have two more books. It was great fun and very informative too.

Loaf are one of our suppliers! Their customer service is first class, their bakes are phenomenal! We’ve been a couple of times for brunch and the service and food is exceptional.
Christian — Google review
OMG What's not to like! Lovely village (very small) with some typical village shops including the Loaf which is a bakery/cafe. The bread is famous across Derbyshire (and can be sourced at Matlock market on Wednesdays just be early!) and is just amazing. The cafe is busy locally and rightly so..... 5*s across the board
Phil T — Google review
Nice place , could do with a more varied menu for breakfast . My order has been forgotten quiet often and when I asked about it the last time I was told they were busy and it was in the way , not very friendly - I watched as they then proceeded to speak to another team member and quiet clearly it had been forgotten . Dog friendly and the pizza take a way is great The quiche to take out is tasty
Kara B — Google review
We used the Loaf’s delivery (and by accident collection) service via text. We ordered loaf boxes and various items to be delivered to ourselves and our in-laws. The service provided by Suzie and the team was really good, the food itself is fresh and so tasty. With excellent feedback to all those we shared it with. I can’t wait until lockdown is lifted so we can go and try The Loaf’s cafe facilities. Thank you again, you’ve been brilliant!

Cafe
Hartington Farm Shop & Cafe is a charming family-run establishment nestled in the scenic village of Hartington. They take pride in offering homemade meals made from locally-sourced ingredients, including breakfast, lunch, snacks, and delectable cakes. The on-site shop features an array of locally made gifts and fresh produce such as milk, eggs, bread, and meat. Visitors staying at the Barn can also stock up on local cheeses at The Old Cheese Shop in nearby Hartington village.
Best place in Hartington to get a quick drink, breakfast, lunch, sweet snack or do a little shopping. Previously only getting some products and gifts from farm shop, this time we stopped for breakfast (full English) and coffee. Mocha was really nice and served very quickly. We had t wait for breakfast but it wasn't more than 15 minutes. The breakfast was very tasty and the portion was definitely too big for me. The menu is decent, including the menu for kids, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. Great cake display on the counter and very good prices (next time I'll try some of the cake). The staff was friendly and helpful. The place is converted farm, with lots of space. The shop is situated in front, the cafe in the back with plenty of tables. Local artists pictures are on the walls (for sale) which gives more character, the place is clean. What's also worth mentioning is that the farm shop won some awards and they source ingredients from local farms.

I only came in here for a cake, and had the raspberry and white chocolate flapjack. It was really really nice, and it lasted in the packaging for several miles, unlike some cakes that stick their icing to the bag The lady who served me, was beyond lovely. Full of character and charm, really good local knowledge, and funny. Like talking to a friend you’ve known for years but have actually only just met. it’s worth going in here just to make her laugh It was busy when I walked in around 1040am, and had a really nice atmosphere, with a mix of locals and tourists. I don’t stay still in places, but if i was to choose to go to a cafe, it’s be a place like this

Very accommodating, friendly, good breakfasts focused on local produce & high quality coffee. A nice blend of the community - different ages, local and visitors, dog friendly. Cafe separate to shop so a good flow. They work very hard and its a warm atmosphere. Its also spotless.

We had a lovely breakfast and really good coffee. Separately, the farm shop sells enough of a range of food stuffs if you are self-catering, including a really good selection of locally brewed beer and even locally produced wines. We would recommend a visit

Moose Coffee is a classic American and Canadian-inspired diner that offers a wide range of hearty breakfast and brunch options. The concept was born out of a love for the breakfast culture in New York City, aiming to capture the essence of American and Canadian attitudes towards the first meal of the day. With two locations in Manchester, Moose Coffee has become popular for its delicious pancakes, eggs benedict variations, and an all-day breakfast menu featuring dishes like Might Moose and Coney Island.
We had the most wonderful breakfast here! Our waitress, Phoebe, was absolutely fantastic—warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was just as impressive. Chef Juan’s cooking was outstanding, especially the pancakes, which were perfectly fluffy and absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. A big thank you to Phoebe and Juan for making our morning such a treat—we’ll definitely be back!
Angela M — Google review
We were served by Phoebe and her service was impeccable. The food here is also really good, that we ate here twice despite only being in Manchester for a short while! I had the Bronx Brunch and it was delicious. Loved loved this restaurant and would seriously recommend it to anybody unsure of what to eat while in Manchester. The cookie butter shake was also so amazing for my sweet tooth! Thank you guys for the great food.
Hyunsjae — Google review
Brought my Mum here for part of her 60th birthday treat for breakfast. The food was fantastic and the service was amazing. Phoebe was an excellent server, friendly and had a wonderful attitude. Nothing was an issue and happy to help. Absolutely will be coming again. Can't recommend enough. Been a few times and it's always been great service. Converted my Mum and partner into moose coffee. Thank you.
Thomas D — Google review
Moose Coffee is a lovely spot for breakfast or an all-day bite in Manchester. The place has a nice vibe, with the option to sit indoors or enjoy the al fresco area if the weather's good. The coffee was very good - smooth, strong, and exactly what you'd want to start the day with. Service was excellent as well; the team was friendly, attentive, and kept things running efficiently even when it was busy. All in all, a very nice place to relax over breakfast or brunch, with good coffee and warm service making it well worth a visit.
Merryheart — Google review
Before leaving Manchester, I went to Moose Coffee. Their coffee was a bit light for my taste. I tried their Americano—it was okay, not bitter, not overly roasted, with a slight hint of coffee aroma. The Flat White was a bit disappointing, as the milk overpowered the coffee (the coffee does look good on the photo). The avocado with poached eggs tasted good (they put the sweet and spicy sauce + 1 slice of lemon), and the price-to-performance was excellent (served with 2 slices of sourdough, as you can see from the picture). Excellent service and amazing food as always. Phoebe our waitress was so friendly and welcoming and made sure we had a wonderful experience. I tried the new lemon curd cheesecake pancakes today with digestive crumbles biscuit sprinkled over the top. Absolutely delicious. My props to chef Michael.

The Admiral Rodney in Loxley is a charming country pub and restaurant with a rustic feel. The picturesque surroundings offer a perfect setting to enjoy hearty seasonal pub food, carefully selected cask ales, and fine wines. Visitors have praised the friendly service and delicious meals, such as piping hot Sunday lunches with generous portions and a variety of options. The mismatched wooden furniture, banquettes, and framed mirrors create a roomy atmosphere for patrons to savor British bar menu offerings.
We came in here for a Sunday roast and it was delicious. Food came out super quick and service was brilliant. We were served by Josh and Sophie and they were both so lovely. Thank you for a good time, we will be back!

There is plenty of parking and in a lovely location. The pub itself is very nice with plenty of room between tables. The staff were very friendly and the service excellent. The food was nice, though a little over priced for what you get.

Such a nice pub with gorgeous views. Food was great and hearty. Pub food more refined and a great Sunday lunch. Got the honey and truffle Camembert to start and the slow cooked pork belly with baked apple and it was delicious! Service was slightly slow but not a bad thing for myself as don’t like being rushed. Will definitely be returning!
Alyss L — Google review
A very good pub/restaurant. However it was very cold in the pub and had to leave my jacket on, also they forgot to come back to us when we asked for a desert menu, I think they forgot but were apologetic. I had a lasagne and it was very nice but if I didn't order some chips on the side it would have been a small potion. I think lasagne was about £14.99 plus with chips so I reckon about £19 or so, the tiramisu dessert was delicious. Very nice food without a doubt, Very friendly male waiter.

Nestled in the charming village of Castleton in the Derbyshire Peak District, Three Roofs Cafe is a beloved local spot offering traditional home-cooked meals amidst stunning views of the Derbyshire Dales. Whether you choose to relax on the sunny patio or soak up the cozy atmosphere inside, you'll be treated to freshly prepared dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The cafe also caters to various dietary preferences, including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options.
Had breakfast with a friend as a catch up. The full English was so tasty and a large portion. The pork sausage was one of the best I've tasted. The only negative point of the breakfast was the scrambled egg - over done and rubbery, but the rest of the breakfast was so good. Flat white was good too. Would definitely be back again (hopefully better eggs next time)
Wil C — Google review
We actually came with zero expectations, just because we were super tired from the trails and wanted to eat somewhere. We both got the Asian burger and it was fantastic. Absolutely exceeded our expectations and definitely would be eating here if we were in the area again!

This is a lovely little restaurant and worth your visit when in Castleton. It serves some amazingly tasty and fresh food, which has homemade written all over it. The staff are wonderfully warm and welcoming, going out of their way to make you feel comfortable despite the cosy space. The ‘soup of the day’ is consistently delightful and never disappoints. A spot I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting.

Stopped in to Castleton on our way back from Mam Tor, and found this lovely little spot for lunch. Great menu, very friendly and polite staff and just the perfect place to grab a quick bite to eat and a much needed refuel! Coffees were hot (none of this lukewarm, pretty foam art nonsense thankfully!) and very good beans, baguettes were huge and stuffed with filling, and the hand cut, home made chips were exceptional! Definitely give this place a try if you're heading through or staying in Castleton

Lovely bright clean airy cafe, service excellent, fresh ingredients for the tuna jackets and generous portion of salad. Would recommend.

Second visit and certainly not our last as we are so lucky to live in the National Park. Food is always first class with generous portions and cooked beautifully, and with a huge amount of choices. The cafe is very attractive and spotless with plenty of seating, both in and out. Staff are super friendly and professional. Love it!

Three Roots Cafe provided a bustling atmosphere when I visited around 3 pm, with the place completely packed. However, the person taking our order appeared to be in a rush and somewhat inattentive. Despite this initial impression, the food surpassed all expectations. I opted for a veg soup paired with a cheese sandwich, both of which were incredibly flavorful and satisfying. Additionally, I indulged in a chocolate brownie, which undoubtedly ranked as the best I've ever had in my lifetime. The cafe boasts a wide variety of delightful desserts, although I wish there were more vegetarian/vegan options available for the main course. The interior decor is charmingly simple, a bit congested but lively - contributing to a pleasant dining experience overall.

Tong Garden Centre is a charming retail destination located between Bradford and Leeds, offering an extensive selection of plants, trees, compost, and outdoor furniture. The center spans 17 acres of picturesque countryside and boasts a diverse range of gifts, toys, homeware, and clothing. Families can enjoy the indoor play center for children while visitors can indulge in delectable treats at the onsite eatery.
Thought we’d have a ride out to The Tong Garden centre as they recently took over our local garden centre Deans of York. It’s a large site with lots of different suppliers set up with their own area. They have a restaurant and a cafe both have plenty of seating, we had a main meal in the restaurant and a cream tea in the cafe, both excellent and served very quickly. Staff were all very helpful, happy and polite. Worth a visit if you’re passing.

Such a beautiful and lovely place to visit. They have everything from fish, plants, outdoor decorations, barbecues, cafes, playgrounds, snacks & food, pet feed & toys, plants and more. I love the beautiful array of indoor plants, seeing the Koi Carp, the frozen bakery treats (great for the airfryer) and just walking around! There is so much to see :)

Fabulous garden centre with lots of areas. Plants to trees to gifts to bedding. Lots of eateries. Fabulous soft play area along with a huge outdoor area. My grandkids love the bouncing pillows and zip wire. We booked an outside cabin for an afternoon with afternoon tea. The food itself was a bit disappointing: every sandwich was tuna. I wouldn’t pay for the picnic lunch again. Despite this my grandkids had a wonderful visit.

My family purchased a David Austen Rose care course at the Tong Garden centre. This lasted for nearly two hours and covered most things from planting, pruning and after care for maximum blooms . The course came with a cream tea and the option to upgrade and get a rose. You told the then what area you wanted to plant in and how big or tall you are aiming for. They then told you what rose is suitable. Very informative and a good way to spend a morning. A quality garden centre with knowledgeable people on hand to answer questions. Will go back .

Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield is a captivating destination that delves into the city's industrial history. Located on a manmade island with over 900 years of heritage, the museum offers interactive galleries and skilled craftsmen showcasing Sheffield's manufacturing roots. From steel-making to the mass production boom during the Industrial Revolution, visitors can explore various aspects of industry, including exhibits on knife-sharpening and a working 12,000hp steam engine.
Great museum, well worth a visit to find out more about industry in Sheffield. At 2pm they run the steam engine that is well worth watching. Free entry and accepts donations, don’t forget to complete your gift aid if donating. Staff were very nice and very helpful. Toilets are clean, well stocked and tidy. Cafe is good for a coffee and cake, like other museum cafes a little expensive but well worth it. There is a kids activity sheet to complete and some hands on exhibits and a little dress up area too so kids will like it here. Not one negative to our experience. Suitable for all ages. Free parking or 10 to 15 minute walk to town.

A wonderful museum detailing the history of steel making and the making of tools and of the cutlery trade in Sheffield. Helpful friendly staff. You can wander at your leisure or have guided tour. No entry charge but donations welcomed. Small car parking further on past the museum entrance. The Museum is a ten minute walk from Shalesmoor blue tram stop.

Nice visit to the museum with the kids, free entrance however donations recommended (cash or card) educational for the kids. They enjoyed looking and learning about the dofferent items on offer. Parking at the back, reasonable prices £1.50 for 2 hours.
Kim B — Google review
A must visit for technology and history buffs when in Sheffield. While the museum is free, donations are welcomed. I spent a good deal of time here just exploring and absorbing the steel industry. Who knew that aside from armoury and steel plating, sheffield was also famous for cutlery and other steel based utensils including pocket knives! Friendly staff just enhanced the whole experience. You also get to see the huge steam engine made for rolling steel and which they turn on allow to run on Thursdays to Sundays. Check the times as I missed seeing it run having visited on Wednesday. Still an amazing site to behold!! Love the visit and I highly recommend it.
Dharm N — Google review
This is fantastic if you are an engineer or interested in the history of steel making. Lots of great exhibits the best of which are the large steam engine which you can see running it made me tingle watching it. Also a Crossley engine that turns over showing how these things worked plus plenty more things check out their website. Suggested payment is £5 which is frankly very low for the display on show. You must go

I had the June special toast. Pulled pork Benedict. It's very filling and delicious. Definitely would recommend it if you're visiting in June. I found it to be a little on the pricier side, but it was worth it. The place itself is really nice, spacious, and cosy. Also great service!

A must-visit if you’re looking for good brunch. I was in manchester for just a weekend and still chose to go to this same place twice because of how good it was. The pulled pork benedict was definitely the best thing on the menu, but the variety of options is also good, and their poached eggs did not disappoint once. The coffee was fantastic, and the bloody marys, a cocktail that’s so easy to get wrong, was just right in every way. Great food, great atmosphere, lovely people, this is a food place recommendation you later on use to brag for introducing people to their new fav spot

My flatbread was pretty tough and there wasn’t much flavour in the food. They missed my coffee and I had to remind them twice to finally get my coffee. I’m also quite surprised that they don’t serve atleast halal chicken, especially in a city like Manchester which has a huge Muslim population. I asked to check if the chicken was halal and the server pulled quite a face when I asked?? Felt rude to me and quite dismissive. Coffee tasted fine but not the best. Service was pretty bad in my experience.

Came for brunch and a nice coffee. Love the atmosphere and comfy sofa. We missed the breakfast by about 20 mins so selected from their lunch menu instead. We ordered burger and lamb burger. They were both a bit on the dry side although the patties were thick and obviously hand made, which is a plus point. Now, their salads. Fantastic! Homemade, really tasty and generous in the servings.

Wonderful sandwiches! I had mushroom, vegan cheese and pesto on brown bread and I can honestly say that it was easily one of the most delicious sandwiches I've ever had. A big shout-out to the young chefs as this really was made with care and tasty flair! Brilliant! The table service was fantastic to have and all staff were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. A huge thank you to you all!

Ladies and gentlemen I produce you exhibit A - Eggs Royale. The food was very pricy for the quality of the foods that was given. The eggs royale was was not quite as I expected it. Usually it should come with muffins however, this one had 2 slices of bread that was of basic quality that you would find in supermarket. The sausage was also of low quality and was not even cut when placed in the ciabatta. It had only one egg which again was not of farm quality. The ciabatta was not toasted. On the other hand coffee was very good! I am not mad but just disappointed with the quality and price ratio of the food. I most likely won’t be returning again. Cameron was happy though.

This is a friendly cosy cafe with a nice outdoor seating area as well. We had delicious avocado on sourdough, and BLTs with fries, on a cold windy day. It was like a haven to be honest. Haven’t been to such a high-quality café in a long time. The staff are warm and welcoming, which makes the whole visit feel special. The food is fresh, delicate, and beautifully plated even though it’s just a scotch egg I ordered – you can tell everything is prepared with real heart. Coffee and hot chocolate are both rich and delicious, definitely a highlight. What makes this café stand out even more is the atmosphere. They even have a lovely garden where you can relax, and the interior is tastefully designed. Each table is decorated with fresh flowers, which adds a charming touch. Ramblers Retreat is a charming, family-run tea room located in the picturesque Dimmingsdale within the Churnet Valley. Since 1981, it has been serving traditional homemade food against the stunning backdrop of its 19th-century lodge and beautiful gardens. This cozy country tearoom is a favorite among walkers and cyclists exploring the area. Visitors can enjoy comfort food, delicious homemade cakes, and even dog-friendly treats while taking in the serene surroundings.
Ramblers Retreat: A Motorcyclist's Perfect Sunday Stop Easter Sunday provided the ideal conditions for testing out my pristine BMW motorcycle with a ride to this highly-rated coffee destination. Located approximately an hour's ride away from Sutton Coldfield, Ramblers Retreat proved to be a worthwhile journey, though the final mile might challenge four-wheeled visitors. Both main and overflow parking areas were at capacity during my visit, but as any biker knows, two wheels always find a space. The café lived up to its reputation, serving an excellent flat white paired with a picture-perfect Victoria Sponge. Despite the busy period, I managed to secure a small table to enjoy my treats. The setting is absolutely magnificent, and the clientele - mostly dressed in hiking gear - suggested numerous walking trails in the vicinity waiting to be explored. The popularity of this hidden gem was evident from the bustling atmosphere, though this didn't detract from its charm. The quality of both coffee and cake, combined with the stunning location, makes Ramblers Retreat a destination worth seeking out. I'm already planning a return visit with my partner, though we'll opt for a weekday morning to avoid the weekend crowds.

Lovely tea room with indoor and outdoor seating. Attractive garden area next to woodland walks and lakes. Friendly service and good food at reasonable price. Enjoyed our visit!

Walked from Quarry Walk Park and this was a planned and much welcomed rest stop. Couldn’t get through on the phone to make a booking but we were lucky enough to get a table inside. In peak season I would definitely book ahead though. It is a lovely and quaint tea room serving good food at honest prices. The sandwiches are delicious with generous fillings, crisps, and a side salad. The Staffordshire oatcakes were very tasty and the eggs on toast were cooked perfectly. My son had the s’mores brownie which he devoured in seconds and said he would definitely recommend. Service was good and fast and the guy remained calm even during a busy period. We will visit again on our next trip.

Goodness Gravy! The scenery, immaculate as can be seen in the pictures attached (Chat, should I be a photographer?) The food, scran. The beveragé (drink for all you simpletons) Good thing there wasn't alcohol in that milkshake else I'd be an alcoholic!! (Please, Just 1 more) There was a bit of a debacle between my parents about chips not being sold alongside sandwiches but what else do you expect, they're pushing 400?! Speaking of pushing 400, there are a few old folk here. I include this like it's a bad thing but it's not, old people are very pleasant. Also, quickly circling back, when have chips ever been sold with sandwiches, that would be like... like... Umm... I can't think of an effective comparison but you know what I mean!! Nestled in the picturesque Peak District National Park, The Barrel Inn is a charming 16th-century pub that offers cozy accommodations and a delightful terrace. Situated at an elevation of 1,300 feet, this historic country pub provides breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding five counties and the stunning landscapes of Hope Valley. Renowned for its real ales, Sunday roasts, and locally sourced dishes, it's a haven for food enthusiasts.
This was our second visit to the Barrel Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our fist stay 3 years ago, this time we were extremely pleased with the rooms and food quality. All the staff are courteous, friendly and professional, nothing is too much trouble. The evening meal menu is great and the meals themselves are top quality. The breakfast is of 5 star quality. The Barrel is in an excellent location for visiting all parts of Derbyshire with many circular walks in the locality. We will be back next spring! Thanks to all the team at the Barrel, see you next year!🙂

What a superb pub. We booked a meal here for the location - which is spectacular - but the food far exceeded expectations and was very few reasonably priced for such quality. Fish and chips were traditional but with some lovely gourmet local touches like a tiny pan of fresh “bits” and a delicate curry sauce. The lamb rump was tender, perfectly cooked and came with fresh new potatoes with a light pea pesto. Superb local asparagus too. Shared an excellent sticky toffee pudding, with just enough salted caramel ice cream. Really worth a visit - arrive early to enjoy the view.

Excellent service as soon as myself and my husband arrived at The Barrel Inn to check in for a 2 night stay. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly and extremely helpful, from check in, bar staff, waiting on, the chef and breakfast. The pub itself had a friendly atmosphere and tastefully furnished. The outside views were incredible. We stayed in a double room which was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. The pub obviously has a reputation for it's food because it was very busy. The food was delicious. I'm a vegetarian and the tempura mushroom on a brioche bun was extremely tasty. Apart from the above regarding the staff what most impressed me was when I was out for a walk the following day, Oliver contacted me to see if myself and my husband needed a table for that evening. Above and beyond as far as I'm concerned, looking after their residents. As I know from the evening before the pub would have been extremely busy on a Saturday night. Well done The Barrel Inn. Looking forward to visiting you again. See review

We've always loved the Barrel. Amazing views. The food used to be delicious pub food - nothing fancy just very tasty and well made. The menu has now changed and everything we ate last night was FANTASTIC. The prices are obviously higher but it was worth every penny. It felt really special. After the meal, we sat outside with drinks and played on the landscaped bit of grass with our daughter. Perfect evening.

I came in for a meal with my friend and I loved it so much I returned again the next night with my family! Staff are really friendly and they made sure we had a great time. The food was spot on too, absolutely incredible! One of the best restaurants we’ve visited for a while!

Lovely place. Decent good grub no bells and whistles food, service was good but what you really want to come for is the views. They’ve rightly so leaned into it, a nice bench and area to overlook the rolling hills over your pie and pint. Highly recommended for the views!
Perry W — Google review
Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Absolute shocking service. Table was booked 4 days in advance. We rang half an hour before we were due to arrive to inform and apologise to them that we had been held up with elderly disabled parents and would be running 10 minutes late - which they were fine with. Once we arrived with our elderly parents we were crammed into the corridor next to the constantly swinging kitchen door, which was not only annoying and noisy, but also led to us being hit constantly with stuffy food smell, alongside the kitchen bell consistently being hit once every single meal was plated. Surprisingly they even managed to fit another table in the snug corner of the corridor, where the people who arrived after us struggled to even get in. Completely stunned at how they think it is acceptable to cram in paying customers into such a horrific space and expect to accept it! We asked to be moved to a quieter or more accessible area, with the easier access due to our disabled elderly mother who was immediately struggling with the constant hustle and bustle of the kitchen corridor and being crammed in with little space to manoeuvre her walking aid without getting in the way of the every busy run of waiting staff. The manager refused to move us, and declared it was a first come first serve basis, despite there being several other acceptable table readily available and booking quite far in advance. He said he would happily give the available tables to his preferred regulars and wouldn’t offer an alternative for us, or any discretionary compensation of drinks or anything to the matter. He clearly did not have a humane bone in his body and expressed no compassion in the slightest, only rudeness. The manager was condescending and sarcastic, and expressed that he didn’t care if we stayed or not as he could sell the table either way. We were absolutely shocked at the manner of the manager and how he could even work in hospitality let alone be a manager. We left immediately as it was not acceptable!

We went for the food, we weren't staying on the property. Locals had recommended it and they weren't wrong. It's a pub and it's grub but it's not pub grub. It was beyond excellent and I would have zero reservations of going again. The view from across the road is nearly worth going for alone.

The Grind Cafe, with two locations in Sheffield, is renowned for its award-winning breakfast options. The Kelham Island location offers a unique atmosphere dating back to the 1100s, showcasing the city's industrial heritage. The extensive menu includes various breakfast dishes such as eggs on toast, Turkish eggs, smoked salmon and avo croissant, pancakes with delicious toppings, and granola with fresh fruit and yogurt. Additionally, the cafe's infamous sausage rolls are a must-try for visitors.
Lovely cafe with a cosy atmosphere. We arrived late morning for coffee and cakes, however most of the other diners were enjoying a late breakfast, which looked really good and definitely worth sampling on another visit. There was a very good hot drinks menu and a great selection of cakes. We chose millionaires shortbread, chocolate brownie and apple cake and all were declared delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming and there was a nice atmosphere. We were lucky and managed to get a table straight away at 11am on a Sunday morning but it was very popular and full the whole time we were there. Will definitely visit again.

A great place for brunch. I had a vegan full English which was huge! As well as a breakfast burrito which was very cheesy and the meat was cooked perfectly. A great chai latte and cute spot.
Poppy R — Google review
Food was outstanding but unfortunately the service let our experience down. There seemed to be little communication between front of house staff as we were told we could sit at a table and then were stopped saying we couldn’t and then we could again. Went to the till to order and asked if there were any specials on to be met with “what do you mean, what you see is what we’ve got”. My friend ordered her food before me and mine came first and my drink arrived when I’d nearly finished my food in a takeaway cup because there were no glasses clean. I know on a Sunday it’s busy but I wouldn’t say it was overly busier than what should be expected in a Sunday and it seemed to be well staffed.

Visit the Cow Molly Farm in Dungworth, Sheffield, for a delightful experience at their own ice cream parlour and shop. This family-owned dairy farm has been providing milk and ice cream for generations. At the parlour, you can savor their full range of artisan flavors, including special editions, while enjoying indoor or outdoor seating with picturesque views of Sheffield. The farm is also home to friendly cows that contribute to the production of their beloved ice cream.
Lovely place outside the city with its own farm and making icecreams of different flavours in real good taste. Loved their themed ambience.

Really good experience! My first time in the peak district and found this place by sheer luck and decided to give it a try based on the reviews. Great ice cream, cool fresh milk and we picked up some honey for home at the farm shop. There is a shaded area to avoid the sun, parking on site, a self service vending machine and a counter, lots of benches. One member of staff bought us over chairs to sit on whilst we were standing under the canopy which was really kind!

Without doubt Our Cow Molly's ice cream is one of the best in the UK if not the world. They always have a good variety of ices to choose from. The staff are friendly and very polite. There is even on site parking, so when I visit for the purpose of taking some tubs home, I always sneak a cheeky cornet and couple of scoops, stand in the car park admiring the view and the working farm whilst I eat.

Amazing ice cream and products overall. My negative review is about the usage of ai for posters. I assumed that a local business would understand why using Ai is bad for everyone involved. The least you could do is commission an artist for something you need, it's really not that expensive.

Nice bar, a good selection of cask ales, quick service and a pleasant beer garden. We were served by friendly staff which was lovely after we stood 10 minutes at the bar of The Old Nag's Head up the road, being completely ignored by 3 members of staff. We didn't try any food but if you want a nice pint and friendly efficient service - I recommend The Rambler Inn!

Good pub which serves nice ales and lagers, which were reasonably priced. Good outside area and friendly staff, but charged £3.20 for a half pint of lemonade with a dash of orange juice. I myself had a pint of Guinness ( £5. 20 ish I think) not my round and very nice is was too, but taking the mickey on the price of soft drinks. Shame for the non drinkers.
Neil F — Google review
Walked up to the other pub to find they had no food at all... This was later on the day/early evening. Then came here to find £5.95 for a tiny portion of fries (they were very good though) and when I wanted to order another portion, they'd run out so I was left very hungry when my friends were served their mains (which looked very good). I'm vegan so there's not a lot of options but I don't mind eating fries only so to find they'd run out of a staple like this was disappointing. I waited for my friends to finish their food and then had a 1.5 h drive back home and still had to cook dinner. Very convenient location and friendly staff and food was served quite quickly. But I won't come back for food.
Alex W — Google review
We enjoyed our overnight visit . The staff were helpful and very pleasant. The dining room was a little “ shabby” and although I saw the staff clean tables with a spray bottle and cloth they were a little “ sticky”. Could probably do with a deep clean. The food was very good although if you ask for Caesar salad ask for the dressing on the side as it was too much. Large hearty portions, freshly cooked and there is a good selection.

Called in for breakfast first thing with my dog, so had to sit outside. Lovely welcome, good coffee and then a tasty breakfast was brought out but then loads of wasps appeared. I spoke to a member of staff who told me they’d been having problems and there should’ve been traps out. They immediately offered to cook a fresh breakfast as the wasps had crawled over mine. I moved to another table but when the food came out the same thing happened. The staff were so kind and supportive and the manager let me sit just inside with my dog. The food was really good but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it because of the situation with the wasps. The staff and the food were great and I’d definitely recommend it, but check on the insect situation first!

Stopped here on our way through to the Hope Valley. A bit of a pilgrimage as I used to frequent the café in my younger days while on holiday in the Peak District. Thankfully not much has changed! Food and drink are ordered from the counter and is brought to the hatch where cutlery and sauces are kept. There are two seating areas, both with a lot of original station decor, and both with lovely roaring fires. We ordered a full breakfast each, a hot chocolate and a coffee. The drinks were made immediately and were piping hot. The food was a little while after and was quite the plate full, for £8.80 including the drink was very good value for money. Don’t forget to bring cash and make sure you take your dirties to the wash up counter!

One of our favourite venues for a pre hike meal. One again fantastic value, good choice of hearty food to stock up on the calories ready for your challenging walk. Highly recommended and will be returning again when in the Peaks.
Jeff M — Google review
Good value for money and the food is not bad, nothing spectacular either but you're not going there for a Michelin star experience. The let down for me is the poor service, the usual queue to order, queue to collect your food and you have to take back your plates, I guess they don't want to pay staff to clear or clean the tables, which are minging by the way. The whole outside area is scruffy and hasn't been cleaned in ages. It's OK a dirty breakfast (in a dirty environment) but don't expect anything else. It could be so much better.

After walking all day and with a 4-hour drive ahead of us, we just wanted a coffee and an ice cream to kick off our journey. When the cafe told us they were closing and had already cashed up, we were so disappointed, but a few moments later, we were elated. I won't tell you exactly what they did - as I don't want people taking advantage of their generosity - but they were amazing in what they gave us FOC! It included the coffee we wanted, but also so much more, and it made our long journey home so much easier. We will return to the Grindleford Station Cafe to repay their kindness and to enjoy some more treats the next time we are in the Peak District. Until then, a big thank you to all the staff of the Grindleford Station Cafe. A must stop for all!

We visited with our 3 year son, first stop was the ice cream parlour after a long drive, excellent selection of flavours and the staff were really welcoming and helpful. The ice real was amazing, we all enjoyed it. Next we headed off on the nature trail, a short walk through some fields and woodland, perfect for little ones. You could 100% make it a longer walk if you have a map(no phone signal). Finally we visited the small farm animal area, they had small goats, chickens and sheep. Very small farm in terms of animals but made a good addition. Great few hours spent. Especially as visiting is Free

The Yondermann cafe is a longstanding establishment in Wardlow Mires, Wardlow, Buxton with delicious hot chocolate and an extensive menu. The service was quick and the staff were all excellent. The breakfast had was also very good. Lots of parking and clean toilets are available. Plenty of seating outside is also available.
Stopped here to grab a fry up after a night of camping and to fuel up before climbing, and was not disappointed, the fry up was fantastic and gave me the option to adjust my dish without trouble, filtered coffee included was fantastic. I hardly ever leave a review, but a good fry up deserves one. Recommend to travelers passing through.

North Tea Power, located in the Norther Quarter of Manchester, is a popular daytime venue known for its handcrafted coffee and loose-leaf teas. The place has won numerous awards and is frequented by coffee enthusiasts. It offers an impressive selection of espresso-based coffees using their own seasonal Deer Hunter single origin espresso, as well as filter coffee and fancy lattes. The menu includes delicious breakfast and lunch options such as grilled sandwiches, cheese melts, and warming soups.
Been here many times now and is my favourite café in Manchester. Highly recommend the passion fruit and almond cake in the pictures!

A fantastic place on the edge of the Northern Quarter, provided you can endure hipsters of all varieties. If rolled up trousers and beanie hats aren't your scene, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. The food here is great, in particular the breakfast muffin which is reasonably priced for a coffee shop in town. Everything is prepared in front of you, and it's all super clean. There's a nice selection of cakes available too. The coffee's are a coffee-nerd's dream. They've loads on offer, and a long list of fancy teas that would shock even a veteran drinker. There's free WiFi, with good connection, and plug sockets all around, which makes it brilliant for studying (or avoiding university altogether...). The staff are ace and THEY ALLOW DOGS. Need I go on?
Dan P — Google review
I can't rate the tea (despite the excellent selection), however it us very rare to get a decent piccolo coffee. Usually its over extracted and sour, i took a punt and it was excellent. So nice I had it twice! Tried the cold brew too, more than decent!

A little hidden gem in the Northern Quarter, seating inside and out is available. I had some peppermint tea which was great, I went back in for more and the guy did a free re-fill which was very nice of him. Would 5/5 recommend this place!

I came in with my puppy after a long day in the sun, and not only were we allowed in, but one of the barriatas brought Rouge (my puppy) a little saucer of water and a treat, and closed the door so the little guy could go off his leash. On top of the amazing hospitality, the drinks I had were fantastic and the atmosphere was chilled and pleasant.

I had a horrible experience at North Tea Power today, I thought it was closed! Next door outside what used to be Simple, the pavement is up and the entrance is barricaded off. Thankfully, the other entrance was still open and I was able to still come in for my favourite lemon and ginger tea and a chocolate brownie.... delicious!

Forge Bakehouse is a bright and airy cafe that offers a variety of homemade breads, pastries, and baked goods. In addition to serving all-day breakfast and brunch, the cafe hosts monthly late nights and supper clubs. With a fully licensed bar offering wine, beer, and cocktails, it provides a larger space for patrons to relax, unleash their creativity, and enjoy entertainment.
A great coffee shop, definitely worth a visit! I have been to Forge Bakehouse (2 brunches) several times and I keep going back. Baked goods and break are of very high quality, service has always been very good. Personal favourite, the almond croissant, hands down, best almond croissant I ve had!
Eleni R — Google review
The pastel was excellent, with a crisp pastry casing that was the perfect thickness and a rich, creamy filling. The chocolate cookie was rather average, though the banana and peanut muffin was lovely. The icing was tasty, despite the muffin itself being slightly too dense. The texture of the candied banana and peanuts added a nice touch elevating it. However, the establishment is not the cheapest of bakeries.

I had brunch at the Forge Bakehouse. They microwave their food and eggs. Eggs are rock hard, way overcooked and the food overall doesn’t taste good. We are not happy with the food there sorry to say.
Lynn L — Google review
So so disappointed... Forge bake house was my fav cafe for many years but feel like since they've expanded the quality of pastries and service has gone down massively. Got a bear claw croissant at 7:30am at the train station, you'd think it would be freshly baked, but it was super dry and no filling inside!! They used to have so much almond/marzipan inside!! The girl who worked there today seemed like she hates people, never seen anyone so fed up with life :D not sure what changed but won't be going there again sadly :(

I’m allergic to eggs and nuts and zero options of sweet treats to cater for this allergy. Flat white was nice however quite bitter coffee Hot chocolate was pretty watery/milky rather than chocolatey.

Forge supplied the sweet treats for our wedding and we were not disappointed! We got two types of pastries and two types of donuts. Doing everything vegan was not a problem for the bakery and everyone was raving about them! Highly recommend if you're looking for someone to cater bakes and treats.

If you're looking for a delicious, old-fashioned slice of cake, or a rich and creamy pudding, the Bakewell Pudding Parlour is worth a visit. The selection of cakes and puddings is vast, and the staff are friendly and polite.
The young lady serving was polite and efficient. There was a good selection of tempting looking cakes, even late in the afternoon when we dropped in. I had a brownie which was a good size, and delicious. My husband had a millionaire shortbread which he informs me was equally good.

I ordered a hot roast pork roll with stuffing and apple sauce. It’s good in general but I took the 2 stars off because i couldn’t taste any apple sauce, the staff might have forgotten to put it in my roll. Hopefully, I could taste some apple sauce with the roll next time, it would be much nicer.

Popped in between Christmas and New Year with a friend. Prices are so reasonable given some of the prices of other places in Bakewell. Cute and creative festive treats. Loved the Bakewell traybake and the cookie which was a little on the sweeter side but beautifully decorated. Lady behind the counter was alone but despite a packed shop (with humans and dogs), she was so friendly and explained what the Bakewell traybake was. Our hot chocolate and caramel macchiato were excellent too. Will definitely return to try out more treats.

I normally buy my Bakewell Puddings from The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop round the corner. But the queue was long so instead I took a punt on this place. Glad I did as the pastry was a lot better than the ones I've had previously. Would definitely go again. Although word of warning, the flaked almond puddings were lacking in jam and that seems to be a recurring theme. Stick to the traditional puddings and you can't go wrong.

This cafe was recommended by a neighbour and I was so impressed! I met a friend for a late breakfast and we were not disappointed. The staff were so lovely and accommodating, couldn't do enough to make our visit comfortable. We ordered the "English breakfast" and breakfast waffles. Both we cooked freshly to order, we didn't wait too long though, and wow were they spectacular to look at 🤩 Only surpassed by how yummy the food was! These dishes are clearly made by someone who really enjoys what they do. I would highly recommend this cafe for anyone who likes really good food, and a lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

Popped in here for a quick lunch not expecting much but oh boy was I wrong. First of all, everyone in there was very friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming and clean. At first we thought the menu was quite pricey (Around 12 pounds for most items) but after getting the food we concluded that it was definitely worth the price. I had the Dhaba Chicken and every single bite was so flavourful, the mix of savoury spice from the curry, sweetness from the oranges, the sour tanginess from the pickles, and the aroma from the greens just work so well together. The ingredients tasted so fresh as well. One of the best westernised Indian food I’ve ever tried. Highly recommended.

We recently ordered bulk food for customer party from Chakra lounge restaurant, and it was an absolute delight! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The chickpeas curry was perfectly cooked with rich spices and a comforting taste that everyone loved. The salad was crisp, refreshing, and full of vibrant flavors — a perfect complement to the meal. Our customers truly enjoyed the food and even commended the quality and taste. Thank you for serving such delicious and well-prepared dishes. We look forward to ordering from you again! Aman was very helpful in getting the items sorted for us.

I recently came across this amazing café as I walked from my hotel, looking for a place to lunch, and the name intrigued me. As I stepped in, the beautiful interiors and aroma of flavours welcomed me and I knew I was going to be a regular here during my stay. The perfect blend of a lively, cosy space, with a great menu, serving a fusion of western dishes with an Indian twist, delivered with a smile - what more do you want on a sunny day! Bun samosa, the lavish English breakfast spread, Rajmah rice, Butter chicken and masala chai were the absolute favourites!! It’s a must to eat here if you’re in Sheffield, as it’s an experience one would regret if missed. Kudos to the team & owners for building such an awesome brand!

The Thorn Tree Inn is a charming and award-winning small traditional pub located in Matlock, offering stunning views of the Derwent Valley. The warm and friendly atmosphere, along with the outstanding range of real ales including TTs Landlord, makes it a go-to local spot for both visitors and locals alike. The inn also features heated outdoor canopy, welcomes dogs, hosts darts teams, and serves homemade food at certain times.
Decided to visit this pub after arriving in Matlock on the train. Long climb up a very steep hill which took about 20 minutes walking. It was worth it. Lovely little pub with two bar rooms, and outdoor seating with fantastic views over Matlock, and out to Riber Castle. Service was welcoming and efficient, and the beer was well kept - a nice pint of Old Trip by Hardy and Hanson, along with a substantial chip butty.

Fantastic food and very helpful staff. It's absolutely worth a stop here. We had the bacon bap/barm/bun/roll etc and the flat sausage one, they were lovely and the coffee was first rate as well. My family and I stumbled upon this lovely cafe during a sunny June day out in the Peak District and couldn’t have asked for a better spot to enjoy a relaxed lunch in their lovely garden, overlooking Win Hill. The setting is lovely and was just what we were looking for after the four of us had been on a long walk in the Hope Valley. The food was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. Everything we ordered was lovely and the coffee was great – the best that we’ve had in the area. Our experience was made extra special thanks to the warm welcome and genuinely friendly staff that we encountered. If you're in the area, this cafe is a must-visit – perfect for a tasty lunch, with unbeatable views and lovely staff. We’ll definitely be returning soon.
Orla H — Google review
This post may come across as bitter, it's not meant to. It contains a review, albeit short, but is more about awareness of our life above Grasshopper & the attitude of the owners of the cafe & flat. Decisions have been made & nothing that’s happened can be recognised as illegal or officially contested with any guarantee of success. For me, it’s more to do with the way my girlfriend & I were treated. I'm not even aiming to promote the idea of boycotting the cafe, please do go there & keep the staff in work. I am only aiming to allow anyone who takes the time to read this some perspective & insight. Grasshopper Cafe has the best coffee in Hope, in my opinion (sorry Adventure Cafe, Courtyard Cafe and Hope Chest Deli, just my opinion), but, for me, the food is good, but overpriced. The staff are fantastic, despite a relatively regular turnover for some of the younger faces. Staff there really lift the character and reputation of the business. However & more importantly, I have directly experienced the proprietors to be deceptive, dismissive, duplicitous & unsympathetic. The original basis I’ve been told for them wanting to sell their business & flat are more than plausible, but I feel the treatment of my girlfriend & I was distinctly far from reasonable. We rented the flat above Grasshopper for around a year & a half. When we began our tenancy, we were assured that any problems we had would be dealt with quickly & efficiently: ‘Any problems, come & see us.’ We had problems from the start & each was deflected or dismissed in turn. We were told, repeatedly, that problems had been dealt with ‘as quickly as possible’. This "haste" was exemplified through: • The flat not being cleaned properly before we moved in (which we left spotless after we left, with zero gratitude) • Delayed repairs to guttering, resulting in the kitchen flooding. Twice. • A broken toilet seat when we moved in that we had to replace ourselves • A filthy and damaged oven, which we cleaned & fixed • Having to chase repeatedly for our deposit back • A leak in the ceiling in the front room that after 9 months' neglect became a large hole, which took a further 3 months to finally fix Following this and more, on the 31st of January 2025, we received two copies of a Section 21 eviction notice through the post in a hand addressed jiffy bag, both countersigned by the business owners, giving us 2 months to move out of the flat. This was upsetting for both of us as we had planned to stay in Hope for at least another year & like to think that we had good relationships with quite a few of the residents, especially since we both worked locally. Given the scarcity of rental properties in the area, we were forced to look elsewhere, which threw other things into turmoil given the relatively short 8 week period. We had no contingency for this scenario & no prior notice or indication was given on this eviction, at all. In fact, we had previously been assured wholeheartedly that they would make sure our tenancy stayed in place, "no matter what", even if they managed to sell. It was instead cited that ‘a vacant flat might be more inviting to prospective buyers’ via text. That is the sole reason we've been given for our eviction. We were dealt with like unwanted squatters, with absolutely no justification. I’m not asking anyone that reads this for anything, nor am I expecting anything from this. I acknowledge that what is 'fair' or 'reasonable' can be down to interpretation, perception, or experience & that, in essence, nothing illegal has taken place. I have not lied at all or exaggerated any part of the experiences shared here & these were not isolated. A Hope resident said to me: ‘You don’t really think of someone as being unkind unless you see it for yourself, but I’d rather know than not.’ And that is honestly why I’m posting this. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Visited with my partner and 2 dogs. Went on a nice walk around the brewery. And then stopped for a drink before going home. 1 of my dogs is reactive but has come on leaps and bounds as I have put alot of training into him. I chose to walk round there as I knew it was a case of all dogs should be on leads due to live stock etc. However while sitting having a drink, a Labrador and Border Collie type dog came running off lead around him. They belonged to who I assumed lived there as they was standing chatting behind a gate of the brewery. It triggered my dog and ruined it. Personally I think it's rude. Don't ask people to have dogs on lead for live stock when you can't adhere to your own requests. Just because my dog is reactive doesn't mean he can't go to places. It takes a lot of training to help a dogs confidence. Be considerate, because I'm sure you would of had alot to say if my dog was off lead around live stock or got hold of your dog. Don't be that "oh it's ok, he/she friendly" type of person. Response to reply: My dog was absolutely fine until the dogs came right up to my dog. I wouldn't call them well trained if they are going up to other dogs while off lead and I wouldn't call the owners well trained either if they are not even taking any notice of what their dogs are doing. I think it's pretty obvious multiple people visit with their dogs and it doesn't hurt to either keep your dogs on a lead or behind the gate if they are not leashed.

£18.10 for 2 microwaved Scotch eggs, a black coffee in a takeway cup, bottle of soft drink and packet of crisps. No wonder they don't show prices in the shop!! Edit: according to your menu on the website, what I should have paid was £14.65 not £18.10, based on takeaway Americano £3.15, bottle of pop £2.45, Crisps £1.15 and two Scotch Eggs @ £3.95. Can you explain this discrepancy? Also, as for your statement about prices available, there was no drinks prices on chalkboard advertising drinks nor was there any prices on counter display where scotch eggs, sausage rolls etc were displayed?

An Absolutely Outstanding Experience at The Refreshment Room! My recent visit to The Refreshment Room at Millers Dale - Buxton was truly exceptional, not just for the delicious food, but for the incredible kindness and helpfulness of the lady who I spoke to over the phone. We enjoyed a fantastic meal – the food was great and perfectly hit the spot after our walk. However, the real highlight of our visit came after we had already left. My grandfather, unfortunately, realized he had left his glasses in the disabled toilet, and we were already a considerable distance from Buxton, having arrived back home. In a bit of a panic, we contacted The Refreshment Room by phone, explaining our predicament. To our immense relief and gratitude, the lady we spoke to immediately understood the situation. She went above and beyond, promptly finding the glasses, and reassuring us that they were safe with her. What truly touched us was her willingness to then happily post them back to us. This act of genuine generosity saved us a very long and inconvenient journey back. This lady is truly a gem, and her helpfulness and kindness are a testament to the wonderful people still out there in the world. We are incredibly thankful for her thoughtful assistance. I sincerely hope The Refreshment Room continues to thrive and receives all the success it deserves. It's local businesses like this, run by such compassionate individuals, that truly make a difference. We can't recommend it highly enough!

Rude staff. Ordered two scotch eggs and two coffees. Young lady didn't listen. She only prepared one scotch egg. Had to microwave another and said it was our fault for not ordering correctly. From the conversation between the ladies serving, they were very hungover apparently! In the wrong job if we are an inconvenience. Shame as lovely setting.

An Exceptional Experience – Heartfelt Thanks to Rachel! We visited The Refreshment Room in Millers Dale last week with our family, including my 89-year-old grandfather. The setting was beautiful, the refreshments delightful, and the atmosphere welcoming — a perfect countryside stop during our day out near Buxton. After returning home (quite a distance away), we realised that my grandfather had accidentally left his glasses behind at the café. He was very worried, and we weren’t sure how to go about retrieving them. I decided to call the number listed on Google Maps, and that’s when we encountered the true kindness and humanity behind this wonderful place. A lovely lady named Rachel answered the phone, took the time to look for the glasses herself, found them, and – without hesitation – offered to post them back to us. She even refused to accept any payment for the postage. In a world where such thoughtful gestures can often feel rare, Rachel’s kindness truly stood out. It meant the world to my grandfather and to all of us as a family. We are deeply grateful and wish Rachel and The Refreshment Room continued success, prosperity, and happiness. Your kindness will not be forgotten — thank you once again for going above and beyond!

Stunned to be asked for nearly £8 for one black and one white coffee, served in a paper cup and left at a collection table for me to go and get myself. For half that price ive enjoyed table service by a dishy waiter in the middle of Paris with my coffee in a proper cup + saucer! Not value.

Nestled in the vibrant Nether Edge neighborhood, Cafe#9 is a delightful haven for coffee lovers and those seeking a cozy spot to unwind. With its charming ambiance, adorned with wooden furniture and lush plants, this quirky café invites you to linger over your drink. The menu features high-quality coffee options alongside an array of tempting sweet treats, including smaller bites that are perfect for a quick snack.
Would definitely recommend this little Cafe; food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. After a morning of house hunting and viewings, needed a place to sit and recharge, walked past this little gem and went in. Found a seat (there aren't many tables, which is part of its atmosphere and charm), and expect this to be a favourite hangout for locals) ordered a coffee (was very good) and a granola bowl (which was excellent). A busy little cafe, but food came out quickly, and always with a smile. Great place, excellent value for money, you won't be disappointed.

Our favourite place in Sheffield! Whenever we visit family, we cannot be there without enjoying Cafe #9’s delicious homemade granola with yoghurt and berry compote - divine! We also like the ethos of the café inspired by the owner so we will keep coming back. Thanks to all the staff at Café #9 🥰

My husband and I were excited to visit this local cafe for the first time as a nice treat. We walked in and weren't sure whether to help ourselves to a table or wait to be seated. We went to the counter where neither the proprietor or server acknowledged us. No "I'll be with you shortly" or "take a seat it's table service." Both staff members looked directly at me on several occasions but said nothing when i tried to get their attention. We stood there for a while before my husband opted to sit at what we thought was an available table. No- one came to speak to us at the table either. In the end we got the sense we weren't welcome or perhaps our face didn't fit. We opted to stand up and offer our table to a young family who were also waiting to be seated and were successfully acknowledged by the proprietor. Perhaps again supporting the theory of who's face does and doesn't fit who knows. It was a real shame- the decor of the place was lovely and the cakes on the counter looked nice but sadly no opportunity to try them. We really like supporting local businesses but I'm not sure if we'd return to try again. We went elsewhere in the end.

This is the best/cosiest/loveliest cafe I've been to in my entire life and I have been to many cafes around the world! It's got such a nice community vibe that it makes you feel like home :) there's plants everywhere, fire going in the background, lovely jazzy music in the background and recently found out it's a laptop friendly too as they have a great wifi! However,it gets pretty busy as a lot of people work from there so I tend to go for 9am to get the best spot. They have some super yummy homemade cakes as well, which never disappoint and capuccino foam is just the next level!!!! Their homemade granola is supper yummy too!! Oh and you must try their cinnamon swirls, they're to die for! They have weekly/monthly gigs too, people come from all over the world ane the gigs are always super lovely and intimate as the cafe can only fit around 20-30ppl,so you always get to meet everyone at the end. If you havent been there yet, you're missing out :)

One of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. Dropped into Nether Edge after the Mark Steel's in Town episode having not been there before (outsider!) and chanced upon this place. What a gem. Superb coffee, great atmosphere and full of curiosities. Would most definitely go back again next time I visit Sheffield.
Stu M — Google review
This café is right up there for lots of reasons and if you haven't been, do it now! I thought I had been to the entire variety of cafés that Sheffield has to offer, but you could have knocked me down with a feather when I walked in. Jazz funk music playing, Dahl Of The Day on the menu and a range of herbal teas to out-do Holland & Barrett. The place has a wood-burner, punching out a warm welcome and the quirkiest of seating, with memorabilia in every corner. We sampled the coffee, lemon and ginger tea, homemade cake... one guten-free and we loved it... We'll be back!

When you walk into Cafe #9 it’s like you’re transported into an alternate universe. The chill, calm atmosphere radiates from the outside, but I felt it like a hug when I stepped through the doors. Soft music, ambient lighting, a plethora of plants and knick knacks coupled with gorgeous wooden furniture makes me want to stay here all day. I had an oat milk flat white and a mini cinnamon roll warmed up. The coffee was hearty, smooth, and very fairly priced. A new favourite place of mine

With ample outdoor seating offering breathtaking views, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy quality food in a peaceful setting. The menu caters to diverse tastes, featuring everything from sweet treats to hearty meals like jacket potatoes and meat pies.
What a gem of a place. The outside seating is first class and the views are stunning. It's so peaceful. A place to unwind and rest and drink and eat good quality food. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They cater for every palette - a coffee served with cake through to jacket potatoes, Panini and meat pies. Dogs are welcome which is so good. I popped into the farm shop expecting it to be like Diddly Squat but I was a bit disappointed. There was no meat counter and not many pies either. There was a small selection of cheese and cakes with greeting cards and cute socks and numerous jars of preserves and pickles. I can't wait until my next visit - it's definitely my new go to place. Well done to the owners and excellent staff

A great find....... A small cafe with very idyllic views across the valley. The food is great, the service is friendly and the prices are fair. I would recommend this to anyone in the area who likes a spot of brunch or an early lunch. I believe they also do bistro nights which I can imagine are great.

We called in for breakfast last week and was very disappointed. I ordered full English £11.50 and add black pudding £1.00 extra. My breakfast arrived 1 sausage 1 egg 1 slice of over done bacon very hard,1 hash brown.,half a tomato, a few mushrooms, 1 small pot of beans and 1 slice of toast oh yes 1 very small slice of black pudding which they charged me £1.50 on the bill. My wife ordered vegan breakfast and said can I have sourdough toast as I cannot eat normal white bread the reply was no as we are limited on sourdough. The tea was in a teapot and was like dish water. I spoke to the young waiter(boy) mentioned the over charge on black pudding and asked to change the tea he mumbled something and never came back. We will not be returning its a shame because the place ic nice and outside seating area lovely.

Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Headingley, Munch Takeaway is a contemporary café that caters to all your culinary cravings throughout the day. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a satisfying lunch, or just some delightful snacks, this spot has you covered. With its welcoming atmosphere and friendly service, it's an ideal place for families as well. Plus, if you're planning an event, Munch Takeaway also offers catering services to make your gathering even more special.
I revisited this takeaway hoping standards had improved, but unfortunately, the food was still unacceptable. The meal was undercooked (not even 50% fried), with burnt naan in some areas and undercooked in others. The chicken donner portion was very small, with hardly any meat, and the quality was extremely poor. Even worse, my wife suffered food poisoning after eating here on 2024. I specifically asked if the food was cooked fresh and was assured it was, but clearly, it was not. This was a waste of money, a health risk, and very disappointing. I will not return and strongly advise others to avoid this takeaw 💬 Facebook Review (casual & strong impact): Gave this place another chance but honestly, never again! Food was half-cooked, naan burnt in some spots and raw in others, and the donner portion was a joke – hardly any meat at all. Total waste of money. To top it off, my wife got food poisoning on April 2025 after eating here 🤦‍♂️. Asked if the food was fresh, they said “YES” – obviously not! Very, very disappointed. Unsafe food, poor quality, and misleading staff. Avoid this place at all costs!

On the 14th I and my husband went to this takeaway around 4pm and then a couple hour later that night I started to be sick. I ended up in hospital with food poisoning and really seriously dehydrated, I lost a stone in weight in - matter of 36hours. I said to my husband I need to go now I had no energy or fight left in my body, my body felt like I had no control anymore, I was that bad I seriously thought I was gonna die, and if I had not things could have been a hell of a lot worst and a complete different outcome, I was that dehydrated. I still can’t eat or drink and I can’t look at food the same anymore and have a fear of ever eating again. My life after that experience will never be the same. I beg anyone please DONT GO HERE your health and life is more important I don’t want anyone to go through that or anyone to see there loved one go through it. I’m could post more but they are videos. But I beg please if you read this DONT GO!! When we tried to call the shop he dismissed us and put the phone down.

Ordered a burger and munch box tray (Donner wings and chips. Salad and sauce) Burger was dry. Not edible. The box was okay. The chips was the only thing that was decent. Price was not bad. But Donner meat was like rubber. The wings were not edible either. Dry and looked overage. Won’t be ordering again. The place has awesome potential.

My oh my, these waffles were unusual and special! The texture is something ethereal that's unlike anything i have had before.  The waffles are so crisp and light as a feather.  When you bite into it, you get that sharp crispness that practically shatters but it isn't harsh or rough...and the waffles just melt in your mouth. There are a variety to choose from they also they do creps, milkshakes, cakes and Belgian waffles. The design on the waffles are amazing and look outstanding. Also i love the decoration in the shop with the flowers, very eye-catching and beautiful. The staff are kind, genuine and helpful and they always have a smile on there face whitch is lovely to see. Although I have to admit, the waffle cone was extremly delicious along side the shake, the service was an absulte let down 😔 It felt as though I was talking to an answering machine, with no replies back, instead they just kept conversing with their co-worker. It felt super awkward just standing there waiting, and considering they weren't at all busy, they should have really took the time to be friendly with their customer. Overall, the food was amazing but the service was appalling. I would come again, but I don't want to risk another awkward silence between me and the staff member! They lacked any spirit or emotion in their voice when they said anything. Disappointing really because the food and drink is so good.

Visited Tagg Lane Dairy today and it was a fantastic experience. Tucked away in the middle of the countryside, the place is peaceful and beautifully kept. The ice cream was top quality—easily one of the best I’ve had. Everything was clean, the staff were friendly, and there were plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view. You can also buy fresh milk and locally sourced beef, which is a nice bonus. 5/5 – Highly recommend.

This place is a little hidden gem. It has a serving counter where you can get some take away food, and also hot drinks. There's some outside benches, but also a small inside cafe. The main event of this place really is the home made ice cream, as its very creamy and some of the best I've ever had. If you love ice cream, you need to visit here. Plenty of free parking. To note, the pistachio sells out VERY quickly, so if you see it, try it.

Nestled just outside the enchanting grounds of Chatsworth House in Pilsley, the Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop is a delightful destination for food lovers. Housed in a charming old stable block, this award-winning shop boasts an impressive array of high-quality products, many sourced directly from the estate itself. Visitors can explore a fantastic selection at the meat and fish counters, indulge in delicacies from the patisserie and delicatessen sections, and even sample locally crafted beers and spirits.
A must-visit if you're in the Peak District! I recently visited the Chatsworth Farm Shop and was genuinely impressed. The quality of the produce is top-tier—everything from the estate-reared meats to the freshly baked bread and homemade cakes was exceptional. You can really taste the difference in the local and seasonal ingredients. The shop is well laid out, beautifully presented, and full of unique items you won't find in a regular supermarket. It’s clear they take pride in curating their offerings. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole experience felt calm and inviting. I also stopped by the café—lovely views and a great spot for a coffee or light lunch. Food was good, though service was a little slow during peak hours, which is understandable given how popular the place is. Yes, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but you’re paying for quality and provenance. Definitely worth it if you appreciate good food and want something a little special. I’ll be back!

The Bakewell Tart Shop & Coffee House, situated in the main street of Bakewell, is a sweet spot for anyone who digs top-quality pastries and comfort food. I have a so‑so relationship with Bakewell tarts as there are few and far between, and often they are lacklustre in London. But here their Bakewell tarts and puddings are beautifully made and genuinely good. We loved them so much that we bought both the traditional and coconut Bakewell tart slices to take back to London. I am still not a fan of the iced tarts though. We also went for the afternoon tea, it was good, though I have had better elsewhere. But the meat pie with gravy hit the mark, hearty and satisfying. Service was top‑notch, and the coffees were expertly made. The café itself has the small town charm that complements the heritage of the place. Overall, I would recommend The Bakewell Tart Shop & Coffee House especially if you are in the area and craving a properly made Bakewell tart or a comforting pie.

Oh my gosh! If you're looking for the best place in town for a cuppa tea and a Bakewell pudding then this is the place. We had looked at a few cafes in town and decided upon this one and by god wasn't disappointed 💯. The Bakewell pudding was absolutely delicious fresh and came with a small jug of custard. The pot of tea came with an extra pot of hot water which was great. Everyone of their cakes on display looked absolutely amazing and wish I could have tried everyone of them. You can sit in or take your food away. After our food we returned later that afternoon for another cuppa tea and to pick up 2 take away Bakewell puddings for the next few days 😋 The shops has a small selection of merchandise including a must take home fridge magnet. Try this place and you won't be disappointed 😋💯❤️

My friends and I all had a Bakewell tart at the Bakewell Tart Shop & Coffee House, and we absolutely loved them! The tarts were delicious – rich, fresh, and full of flavour. I also had an oat milk chai latte, which was really tasty and perfectly spiced. It’s the only spot in Bakewell I would recommend for a Bakewell tart – definitely worth a visit!

Hands down, a place that has to be on the itinerary if you’re in Bakewell. Opted for the tart and pudding and both were yum! The flavour came through perfectly, without being excessively sweet and both were equally good. I would say the one you prefer comes down to a textural preference.

Nice Bakewellian café with the signature Bakewell tarts. Could come in and grab one to take home or dine in. We came for a snack and an afternoon dessert. Staff are friendly and we got to add a pin to the world map.

Came for a small bite to eat for breakfast, in particular we came for the traditional bakewell pudding. There is an option for the pudding to be served with custard, cream, and ice cream however this did cost extra. I opted for custard and my partner got cream. The flavour was probably the best bakewell pudding I have had in the town, and I've visited most places that sell them as it's a bit of a tradition each time I come up. Not sure why the pictures have a green effect but it seems to be a reflection! Although the food was excellent, the falling down point was the price, as it definitely felt like tourist trap prices. The two bakewell puddings, one with cream, one with custard, and a single bottle of water came in at over £15, which for me, was too high for what you get, and takes it from 5 star, down to 4 star.

Amazing Bakewell puddings..which one can have with ice cream , cream or custard. Very good coffee as well. Staff are very friendly, prices are reasonable.

Very friendly staff lovely food and a great coffee, what more could you ask for. They have had a new makeover and it looks so much better. They also have a map of the world so visitors can ask to have their name on a flag and put on the country they live in, genius. Recommended.

Ricci's Fine Italian Foods is a small and cozy street-style Italian cafe. They serve pizza, pasta and small plates, as well as coffee and sweets. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, perfect for grabbing a quick bite or relaxing with friends.
We have eaten here tonight and last night and the food is delicious. Expect a slight wait, BUT as all the food is made from scratch the wait is worth it. Its not very expensive either. The garlic bread was the best we've had. The staff are as good as anywhere, the lady does a fantastic job especially.

Great, tasting pizza made with quality ingredients and served with a smile. The elderly couple (owners?) attending our table were second to none, nothing was too much trouble, gave us great advice, accomodated all our wishes and were always smiling!!! Such wonderful people. Food was delish and tasty! My husband is Italian so we can say hand on heart the pizza has nothing to do with the genuine pizza served in Italy (esp the base) and it is more American than Italian but it did not dissapoint at all as very fresh and yummy. We were impressed by the home made marinera sauce, infused olive oil, both full of flavour and lush mozarella cheese. Would def return and recommend! Thank you for a lovely experience x

Asked for 10 inch pizzas, they came out 6 with about 2 inches of crust all the way round..... so about 4 inch pizzas really. But to fair the boxes were tiny too so at least the chef wasn't trying to overcompensate.... Also, not sure what Fior de Latte meant on the menu? Presumably it's Italian for fish vomit? Or maybe foot sweat? Couldn't quite put my finger on the taste. Wouldn't want to either.

Stopped here for an early dinner after a day of sight seeing. This family run cafe is cosy and their food fantastic. The pizza toppings are generous to the the least. The owners are really friendly. The prices are very reasonable you will definitely feel like you are getting value for money. Only thing to note is that they only accept cash so be prepared when you go.

What a little treasure in Bakewell! Lovely homemade and hearty Italian food in a cute place served by the most delightful couple. The food is delicious and very reasonable with well-sized portions (available in three size options too!) We ordered the veggie and regular lasagna, two pizzas, spaghetti Bolognese, sandwich and two starters. Everything was really tasty and the pesto swirls we ordered for starters were definitely our favourite. A must visit if you’re around in Bakewell or the Peak District area.

Great pizza, especially the vegetarian savoury one. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, we phoned ahead and they were just coming out of the oven when we collected. It is cash only, but there is a cash point just round the corner.

Lovely and warm when we arrived. The best flat white coffees we’d had all weekend. Strong and full of flavour, just the way it should be! Breakfast was served on hot plates and the food was piping hot. Fantastic quality of ingredients very impressed at the great value.

We stopped at the Lime Lounge Coffee House in Bakewell for a break and really enjoyed our visit. We ordered coffees (asked for strong ones, which were perfect) and hot chocolates for the kids, who loved them. We also tried the classic Bakewell tart and a fruit scone both were absolutely delicious. The café was clean, and the staff were very welcoming, which made the experience even better. A lovely spot to stop and relax!

Visited The Lime Lounge Coffee House today while in Bakewell and stopped for a coffee and a Bakewell tart. The coffee was mediocre and the Bakewell tart was ok. The café itself is a nice cosy place with a warm atmosphere and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A pleasant spot to take a break during a visit to the town.

Came here for breakfast & both had the big breakfast options. Food was good quality & very tasty, waitresses very friendly. Unfortunately not dog friendly inside though, so had to sit outside and there was so many wasps around we gave up eating and left.

We stopped here for a brunch on a Friday, and it's a nice spot! My dad and I had the Lime lounge breakfast, and my mom had the Oatcake breakfast. On the whole the food was nice, came out hot and fresh. The bacon and the black pudding were particularly nice. Service was polite and quick, good spot for a quick bite. On the whole, very nice! Sat in there right now writing this haha

The first cafe I have been in that doesn’t have a children’s menu, you have to buy an adults meal at full price which is far too large. They have high chairs and baby changing so very strange. The food was good and staff friendly. Would recommend unless you have kids.

Cintra's Tearoom, located in Hathersage, Derbyshire, offers a delightful escape for those seeking a moment of tranquility. Guests can relish in the experience of afternoon tea featuring homemade sandwiches and cream tea. The cozy interior provides a welcoming atmosphere while the secluded garden offers a serene setting during warmer months. Tucked away in the village streets, this charming tearoom is also dog-friendly and serves delectable homemade cakes and tea.
Visited on a Friday at 2pm and was welcomed with a hello and asked how many people we needed a table for (2 of us) and were seated straight away. We had a hot drink each (double cappuccino and a pot of tea), toasted fruit loaf, cherry scone with all the trimmings, a slice of coffee and walnut cake and a slice of cherry almond cake. The food was delicious and served promptly. Good selection of cakes on display which all looked delicious, it was hard to choose which one to have! Lovely little space and very friendly staff who served with a smile. Our bill came to a total of £26 which for what we ordered was a reasonable price.

We came here as a group of 11 people for afternoon tea. We throughly enjoyed ourselves. We were sat under the marquee which was very nice and had our own space to enjoy the afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was impressive, the portions were excellent with the option to add prosecco too! We ended up taking lots back with us as there was so much choice. We were also pleased that they were able to cater for a vegan person in our group, which was appreciated. The service was great. We really enjoyed ourselves, thank you.

Really lovely tea rooms, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly and our border collie soon settled down for a nap in the conservatory where we ate our lunch. We both had the Derbyshire Oatcake with butchers sausage and onion marmalade. There were two thick and delicious sausages and plenty of marmalade. The dressed salad was lovely too and the homemade coleslaw really nice. We'd walked to Ashford in the Water from Bakewell and happened upon the tearooms by chance. Would recommend.

Lovely little cafe/takeaway in this gorgeous village! Being used by locals - always a good sign. Small and quirky! Charmingly friendly chap doing the 'hosting'! I'm not one for going into cafes on my own but I would suggest this is a place that people on their own would feel comfortable. I feel he would happily chat the day away with anyone ☺️. Small shop at the front with seating behind. Lovely, quirky little conservatory on the back. Nice little garden, up some steps, with a chicken or two wandering round. I've knocked one star off as there wasn't any cake I could eat today ( my fault, not yours - allergies and a good dose of radiotherapy😕) so can't really judge them. I'll be happy to up it to 5 stars if, next time we come, I can eat something.👍🏻 5 star food hygiene score. Good, no nonsense menu. Very reasonably priced. Great spot to pick if either out rambling that way or on a scenic drive. Gorgeous village. Definitely worth a visit👍🏻

What a great find. And dog friendly. I had a ham and piccalilli sandwich, served with a salad, a little coleslaw and some crisps. We also had scone with jam and cream. Delicious lunch!! Finished off with a Nottinghamshire made salted caramel ice-cream, that too was delicious. Garden was closed as there were recently hatched chicks. Chris and Cheryl made us feel very welcome and gave us a list of places to visit while we were here. Hope to come back again. Make sure you walk around the bridge, beautiful.

These are upstairs rooms with a variety of tables in just a couple of rooms. Welcomed and seated quickly. The menu isn't vast but I would say adequate for the needs of visitors. Sandwiches with salad, Cole slaw and crisps on the side, were made freshly. Although the bread slices were fairly thick the sandwiches had plenty of filling and tasted very nice. We had the Bakewell tart to follow, which was served warm and was absolutely delicious.

Wow, this place has changed and not for the better. Back in the days when Carlos had this place you could get wholesome food served all day, I should know, I used to eat here every Saturday for years before walking in the Peaks. So I recommend Byways to some friends as we're in Bakewell for the day, we arrived at 1.40pm sat down and the waitress asked if we were ready to order, we asked for a few minutes so we could decide, 20 minutes later the waitress came and took our order, but then told us it was too late to order what we wanted, sandwiches and chips, we could now only order cake. So we ordered some teas and coffees and now it's another 20 minutes later and we still haven't had our drinks. When we enquired where our drinks were the waitress said they were mostly made but we're waiting for stuff to come out of the dishwasher. 45 minutes to get a pot of tea. Once my tea arrived it was nice enough. What's happened to this place? I'm afraid I won't be recommending Byways again, and that's a sad day. Maybe more staff would have helped? Very disappointed.
Zephyr22 — Google review
It was certainly an entertaining visit for lunch. After waiting ten minutes someone came to take our order. I asked if they had a menu. Then the different members of the serving team all tried to take our order seconds apart. We ordered two Sunday roasts and three drinks. Only two drinks arrived. After ten more minutes a server came over and asked if the Sunday roasts were beef or chicken. One of each please. Five further minutes later, the server returns and explains that he's very sorry but they only have turkey. We laughed out loud. He didn't understand why. Nobody brought a bill so we hunted the staff down in the kitchen. The bill was wrong. The food was okay. The service was innocently hopeless, not bad. I'd go back but my expectations would be low.
Mark H — Google review
Very poor service. We visited due to the fact that Gluten Free Food was advertised. We ordered coffee, toast and a toasted teacake. Our coffee came and 10 minutes later no sign of our light bite. Other people had come in and received their food before us. We had finished our drinks and decided to leave as we like our food with our coffee. On the way out I spoke to a 'waitress' and told her why we were leaving. I said I would not pay due to the inconvenience and poor service. We had to find somewhere else then to cater for someone who needed GF food. The tearoom was not busy-5 tables with people incl us. Extremely dissappointed, would not return and would not recommend.

Wonderful find. Jo and her team made this small but perfectly lovely cafe a really special visit. Everything was delicious, the toasties were somehow so much better than the usual cafe fare, I think it was the high quality bread and ingredients. The puddings and custard were also excellent, we had the Bakewell pudding and the rhubarb and apple tart, both with (just howI like it, not too runny) custard. Excellent. Finally thanks Jo, you couldn't have made us feel more welcome! Best cafe I've been to for a long time, you can see why it won best Derbyshire cafe this year!

We got the Bakewell Tart & the Bakewell Pudding (unfortunately not the best photos) and they were both really good and the perfect portion per person. Moreover, something that we've never seen before is how they have extra hot water for the tea and even offered to provide more at no extra cost (the tea itself being about £3 which is lower than many places already). What made the visit even better was the atmosphere (nice and homely) the friendliness of the staff even when they were incredibly busy. Also - Great GF and vegan options for cakes and pastries which is greatly appreciated. Would definitely recommend!
