Fine dining restaurant
Guildhall Tavern is a renowned restaurant in a charming part of Poole's old town, offering classic French cuisine and signature seafood dishes in a simple, nautical-themed dining room. The menu features varied choices including posh burgers and pizzas. The restaurant also boasts an elegant cocktail lounge with mouthwatering signature and classic cocktails, as well as happy hour specials on select days.
We had the pleasure of booking the Guildhall Tavern for our wedding lunch reception and we had the most spectacular food and wine pairings topped with the best service. Our guests absolutely enjoyed the menu that was curated for the occasion by the chef. We are still raving about the food almost a month later. Also, if you're there please do try the English Sparkling Wine (Champagne) it was divine. Thank you to the Guildhall Tavern team for giving us the best treatment and elevating our dining experience, making our day even more special.

Amazing seafood and steak at the Guildhall Tavern tonight. We’ve been coming for years and it’s one of the best restaurants in Bournemouth/Poole in our opinion. Ingredients are always fresh, great taste, wonderful service, welcoming ambience with nice decor. We will be back again soon!

What a delightful evening. We were searching for a place for a special celebration and the reviews looked great so we booked a table. The food was DELICIOUS and the service from Dom and Apple was also delightful. I had the days Special - which was Massamon curry with huge pieces of meaty fish and an amazing sauce which was like lobster bisque meets Thailand - absolutely fabulous. My husband had the platter with catch of the day - also stunning. We even squeezed in a chocolate fondant to round it all off! I only wish we had found it sooner!!

Simply the best restaurant I’ve eaten at in Poole and the best Sunday Roast I’ve had in 10 years. The staff were superb, the Chefs are artists as far as I’m concerned and I had a great pleasure talking to Alan who’s the owner who was eating at the table next to me and chatting to guests and the pride in his restaurant and love for his staff and customers was so apparent. I’ve never felt so welcomed, looked after and enjoyed a leisurely Sunday meal like it

Everything was at a high level. The dishes were delicious, and I personally liked the scallops. The service was excellent. The main dishes were not served quickly, although the restaurant was not fully loaded. A nice bonus from the restaurant for my birthday. Overall, I recommend it.

Wow, what a fantastic find, we went here today, and i am seriously impressed with the quality of the food, in particular the fish cookery, I've eaten seafood around the world, and this comes out on top of all the seafood I've eaten, top marks to the chef, and all the great staff, we will definitely be back, and I have no hesitation in recommending this fantastic restaurant 💜 And it's dog friendly too, massive bonus points there too
S S — Google review
The food was superb and the service was great. Really liked that they sell a locally made Prosecco. Only small downside was the beer choices—not the best, but the bottled IPA was actually really good.
David G — Google review
Great food well presented, well cooked and well served - good knowledge - Restaurant high standard in the area, be prepared for decent food with a cost attached - # Ensure to check fixed priced menu is actually accurately available as advertised on website #

Da Vinci's Italian Restaurant offers a casual dining experience with pizza and pasta in a charming setting. The restaurant features wooden floors, exposed brick walls, and large windows that overlook the harbor, creating a picturesque atmosphere for enjoying Italian cuisine. The owner, Nicola De Paula, draws inspiration from his upbringing in Calabria to bring authentic flavors to the menu.
Lovely restaurant, lovely people and fanbloodytastic food. Lots of choice and a menu of the day. Even packed me a doggy bag as I couldn't eat all of mine. Also had a dog menu. Thanks all.
Chris H — Google review
Da Vinci’s has a great location and a lovely atmosphere, and I really appreciated the use of fresh ingredients in the dishes — you can tell the produce is good quality. Unfortunately, the positives stopped there for me. The service was the biggest letdown. On arrival, we were greeted (if you can call it that) by a young man who I believe is the owner’s son — his selfie is in the menu. His attitude was rude and sarcastic from the outset, which immediately put us off. The other waiters didn’t seem to know what they were doing and couldn’t even name the dish when serving it to me. It felt like the staff were more focused on payment than actually providing good service. Also no women working, only very young men which is strange to me.. Food was slightly overcooked, which was disappointing given how fresh the ingredients seemed. Also, the outdoor seating could use an upgrade — some nicer chairs would really elevate the space and match the otherwise charming vibe. A place with potential, but sadly the service and attention to detail really missed the mark.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Me and my bestie went to Da Vinci’s for their Set Three Course Motown Event, and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish! We started with the bruschetta and prawn cocktail, followed by the famous Da Vinci’s fish pie and pork steak — both cooked to perfection. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and the cheese board which was such a fun touch! The atmosphere was incredible — great music, people up dancing, and nothing but good vibes all night. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and attentive. Honestly, we enjoyed every single moment. Can’t wait to come back for the next event! 🎶🍷✨
Sami K — Google review
Just had a fabulous meal sitting outside at Da Vinci's. I had a locally caught skate wing with a lovely sauce and it was cooked perfectly which is not easy to do. My wife had a very tasty sourdough pizza. The service was overall very good and attentive. Rounded off with sharing home made profiteroles. Good food well cooked in a great setting for a reasonable price. I'll be back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in ages! Came here with a group of five and we all left absolutely obsessed. The place has such a lovely vibe — cosy but lively. We came on a very wet and rainy day and looked fully booked! The food was bloody amazing. Every single dish looked incredible and tasted even better — starters, mains, desserts — all the plates were spotless by the end! You can tell everything’s made fresh and with proper care. The staff were just as good — super friendly, chatty, and actually knew what they were talking about when it came to the menu. It makes such a difference when people genuinely love where they work. It was my birthday, and the waiter told me my main was on the house if I took a photo with the owner for their socials — such a nice, funny little moment that honestly made the night even better. Overall, can’t fault a single thing. Great food, great people, great atmosphere. 100% would come back — already planning the next visit!

Not a local—just visiting the area—but really glad I stumbled across Da Vinci’s down in the port of Poole. It’s in a great spot with the option to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air or tuck into your meal inside in a cosy, welcoming setting. I went for the Linguine Scallops and King Prawns (£30) from the specials board, and it was absolutely spot on. The seafood was fresh and generous, and the pasta was packed with flavour—garlic, chilli, cherry tomatoes, anchovies and a splash of white wine. Rich, delicious and not too heavy. It’s also really child-friendly, especially for earlier diners—there were families around but it still felt relaxed and well-paced. Staff were lovely, friendly without being over the top. Not the cheapest dish on the menu, but for the quality, I’d say it was well worth it. Would definitely come back if I’m in Poole again.

Awful experience starting by being moved from the table we were seated at, only to be verbally abused by the people moved into our table when we complained. They seemed to be friends with the owners hence the special treatment. The waiter didn't seem bothered we were getting abused by their mates simply for complaining. Asked for chilli oil for my pizza and got a bottle with 1cm of flavourless oil in it. Salad was served without onions and salad tongs. How difficult is it to do a green salad? My friends lasagna was very poor and we were never offered Parmesan. Cocky waiter didn't seem interested in us and I had to walk up to the bar twice to get their attention.
V L — Google review
I went for an impromptu dinner with a good friend. The waiters were wonderful! We were greeted with a smile and a great sense of humour. The waiters were attentive and lovely to speak with; nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious, and my friend and I wanted to share each other's food. So, the waiters kindly provided extra plates for us, again, with no trouble at all. The prices are good for the quantity and quality of the meal. We had the Margherita pizza and the seafood linguini. YUM! We will definitely visit again, and soon! Thank you for having us!

Rick Stein, Sandbanks is a chic seafood restaurant located in a prime spot along the luxurious Sandbanks beach. The interior design is minimalist and Scandinavian-inspired, providing a stylish backdrop for the main event - an impressive display of fresh seafood offerings. The restaurant offers both casual brasserie dining on the lower level and more upscale white tablecloth service upstairs, with stunning sea views from the upper floor.
Another fantastic meal in Rick Stein's. We had the 4 course meal. Well you could say 5 as there was also an appetiser. The waiter was also amazing. We had a glass of Champagne each as we was celebrating our wedding anniversary and a small peice of brownie each for free. Can't wait till next year to go back.
Sheryl V — Google review
I expected more from a Rick Stein restaurant. The one in Padstow was excellent, this was not. For the price paid and level of food expected it was severely disappointing to say the least. We were a bit disappointed with the starters..my Mrs coconut prawns had no taste of coconut whatsoever. My mackerel salad was mediocre. We had the goan lobster and herb lobster for main , and whilst it seemed good value with a glass of champagne thrown in with the deal; they were both under seasoned and under spiced, and were bland at best. The accompanying sides were worse than I’d expect at a 1 star restaurant though…presentation was severely lacking for the quality of restaurant this was advertising. The cucumber and lime salad was literally cucumber and some lime juice ( I take more care slicing cucumber evenly at home !) and the buttered potatoes were bland to say the least ( I put parsley or chives on at home). There seemed to be no love in the food preparation. This may be because we sat at 8.30 and it was late in the day , but this not excusable for a restaurant that sells itself as higher end. On the plus side, our service from Luke was impeccable. Really good. The atmosphere is great and the setting amazing. Still, it didn’t detract from the bland food.
Richard A — Google review
Great location, nice and cosy inside. Could use a few less pillows on the seating so you can actually sit down. The food was amazing. I had the crab burger, I always live seeing crab as a choice on menus because it isn't very common. Stunning burger and desserts. Highly recommend.

Superb restaurant, impeccable staff - warm, down to earth but super good. Amazing views and the food was top notch. We had the Fancy fish and chips and were blown away by how good it was, Best Ever! The octopus and halloumi small plates were delicious too. Definitely a special occasion venue or just a really nice treat.
Pre M — Google review
The menu/food selection is great. I ordered the coconut prawns starter, which were very crispy and seasoned beautifully and tasted great. My main course was the wonderful crab linguine. Again, very tasty. We had a centrally located table for the 7 of us with a fantastic harbour view.

Wow 😋 I was speechless. From food to staff customer service( many thanks to Paul, Emanuel and Elena who served me today; you were 10 out of 10 👍) skills to ambiance - everything went flawless. I am looking forward to my next visit. This is the place to visit if you love shellfish as much as I do 🦞🦪🍤

Treated myself daughter to a lunch here to celebrate her pregnancy. I said in my reservation that she had been through ivf and not been successful but now actually pregnant naturally, when we arrived we had the best table overlooking the harbour, with a congratulations balloon, the food was exceptional, the wine was fantastic, the fresh juice was so tasty and the service was impeccable.

We went for mother's 80th birthday. We asked for a table bt the window. The view from the table was fantastic. The food was exceptional and so was the service. They piped in chocolate on her plate Happy birthday. Nice touch.

Poped in yesterday and was totally amazed by how lovely this pub is it makes its own ales very nice that are to. The place is spotless very welcoming with great staff. Unfortunately didn't have time to eat but intend to return soon I have posted pictures. Great management 👏

Amazing pub. Service was friendly and great including beer tasters to decide which I wanted. I had one of their local brews and roast chicken dinner. The food came out quickly and was excellent. Tender chicken with two pieces, a breast with wing and a leg. Roast potatoes, carrot and parsnip and a Yorkshire pudding accompanied the meat. Totally enjoyed it. You can pay up front or have a tab. Pub was fairly quiet but enough people to be lively at 8pm on a Sunday night. Server Callum was great, thanks!
Paul P — Google review
A fantastic brewing experience day! My father and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt very welcomed by the team. Euan was particularly accommodating, had great knowledge and an obvious passion for brewing! Lots of great memories, wonderful facts and flavours to savour for years to come 🙏

Fabulous!!! Scrumptious Sunday dinner!!! Thank you, Glen, for finding me a seat short notice. I'm so happy you did. Best meal I've had in two weeks in England. I'm so happy I found the Poole Brewhouse. Thanks to the chef, too. He made my business trip a happy full one. Your staff are awesome!!!
Rosie F — Google review
Found this great place while having a wander round Poole so we decided to pop in for beer on a lovely warm day so glad we did the bar staff were excellent telling us all about the beer the brew and letting us sample a few before we chose our tipple of choice we decided to stay for a few beers and then stayed for some lovely food
Lee J — Google review
Service was pleasant and timely. Toilets wreaked of urine. Dining area was cold. Door to garden area open wide at 7pm on a cool night. Drinks were good. Food was poor. 4/10, 6/10 and 6½/10 for main dishes. I went home after & got myself some food that I enjoyed. What's the point of going out to a place like this if you can do considerably better at home? Parking is on street or public car park. Either way it costs £2.50 for 2 hours at a machine or £2.70 via Ringo! Add that on your bill.
Baby D — Google review
Super friendly service from Hannah which made up for the lack of availability of food on the menu. She handled it really well and luckily we were able to make alternative choices. Most of what we chose was great, although the pulled shiitake mushrooms weren’t to our taste! Can highly recommend the Mac n cheese. Wide range of drinks available and the place has a good vibe, loved the decor.

"The Grasshopper" is a charming 19th-century pub-restaurant that exudes character and comfort. Recently renovated, it offers a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, with the option to enjoy drinks outside in good weather. The menu features freshly roasted Sunday specials, including a 28-day aged West Country beef roast and a vegetarian Parsnip and Cranberry Nut roast. Additionally, the establishment serves colorful coffee, has a dedicated kids' menu, and provides function room facilities.
Elaina is a fantastic member of staff and makes superb coffee. The food is to die for and the ambience is wonderful. Well worth a visit

My Brother chose The Grasshopper as it was his 50th! Large open space ... fairly quiet maybe because it was Bank Holiday Monday lunchtime ?? I ordered Chicken Roast last dinner which wasn't available so had Beef - stated "pink" on menu but far too uncooked for me - the rest of the dinner was delicious. All 6 of us had desserts - my Nephew chose waffles, was asked 1 or 2, decided on 2 but was then told they only had 1 left. Apart from the "not available's" we all enjoyed the meal and the venue :) A
Julie K — Google review
Service here was appalling & slow staff didn’t seem happy & the food was lukewarm, the chips tasted slightly frozen & not hot in the middle.. my partner came expecting a chicken roast on this Sunday & turns out they told us there was no chicken in the kitchen! So decided to order something else. Coke was completely flat & then they said they gave me a bottle replacement in a glass however that seems a lie as that was completely flat as-well. It was very dead atmosphere & I can now see why! I do Not recommend.

Good service, was served by bartender called Peter, who was friendly and efficient. Bonus points for him dropping our lemon on the floor making my friend and I chuckle quite a bit, but he gave us a new one so all was good 👌

Wow, I had such an amazing experience and I'm still thinking about it! The food was absolutely delicious; every single bite was a burst of flavour 😋. Also, the service was truly top-notch, with the staff being super attentive and friendly especially Mary Lou who I felt like she really went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and satisfied. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good time with great food. I can't wait to go back again soon!

Went today for a late lunch. This is my local so I have to be loyal... but that's not difficult because it's a great pub. Lovely staff, excellent food. Restaurant if you fancy formal or the bar which is cosy and has a fire. Lots of outdoor tables with heating. Pub quiz Monday and DJ on Saturday. Dogs welcome. I've posted a range of food from the different menus they offer, their Christmas dinner was really good
Ingrid S — Google review
A few months ago this would have been a 5 star review, but sadly no longer. My friend and I have been having coffee at the Grasshopper for several years now. We arrive at 11 when it opens. Until a couple of months ago the staff were friendly and efficient. Now there is one person serving who also seems to be overseeing building work. This week we ordered our usual coffees, sat outside and waited, and waited and waited. Customers arriving after us had their drinks so my friend investigated. Our coffees were on a filthy tray waiting on the counter. The staff member confirmed they were ours and said he'd forgotten to bring them out. The same thing happened the previous week too. I know it's not a busy time of day but the service needs be better. Other regular coffee goers have commented to us that they have noticed a downturn in service and they, like us, are looking for alternative places to go. I would have thought that some money from coffee drinkers was better than no money at all.

Our two night stay was bought for us through Red Letter Day Experiences however, we are so glad we found this little gem to book. After battling cancer this place and the people is just what we needed. The place was great, the room was clean and surprisingly large, food was just beautiful but mostly the staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. We were so close to Poole Quay which was great to explore, the sunshine was an added bonus. I would certainly stay again and encourage anyone venturing to Poole to give the Antelope a go. We are glad we did 😊

I'm up in Poole again to deliver some training.. So, I was looking somewhere to eat some food. After a good walk around the town I found myself stumbling upon this little pub. I was greeted by a really friendly member of staff and was advised to go and pick a seat out the back. I ordered myself the salt and pepper squid, a chicken and ham pie with mashed potato vegetables and onions rings and to finish off, I had Apple crumble with ice cream and custard. I'm not exaggerating here but the food was incredible, from the squid that was really fresh and cooked perfectly. Moving onto the pie it had a really nice thick crispy pastry with thick gravy and I'm not normally a fan of gravy but it was very nice. The mash potato was soft and you could tell it was fresh. The crumble was really nice although a smaller portion than I would normally have. It was just perfect as I am a bit greedy . There was a lovely atmosphere nice and cozy. If I come back to Poole, I would love to come back here again.

Food and service here was amazing tonight. The staff Toby and Lilly were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Toby recommended the chocolate fondue dessert and it did not disappoint. Melting chocolate from the centre of the cake it was heaven. The pesto and halloumi salad was great and husband was very happy with his lamb shank. Great atmosphere and beautiful restaurant that has blended modern decor with the beams and arches of the original building.

Stayed for 2 nights. Room 12 on top floor which was billed as small double but plenty of room. The shower was awesome!!. Breakfast was cooked fresh and plenty of choice. Bar quite lively during the afternoons. Will certainly use it again in the future.

We stumbled upon the Antelopes Smugglers restaurant on our visit to Poole while on holiday in Dorset. And what a gem of a find. The setting has an old world meets modern decor, with the old brick work and wooden beams. It has clean modern bar and furniture. We were tired and hungry after our walk and I had the fish and chips and my partner had the beef rib bourgoignon. He said this was delicious, and my fish was fresh and so tasty. I can't comment on the hotel, as we didn't stay but the service in the restaurant was top rated. Our server Toby was helpful and attentive. Thank you

We found the Antelope by chance after receiving poor service from The Lord Nelson on the quay. We had meals and drinks there and the staff were so happy, friendly and welcoming. The pub had a great atmosphere with a DJ playing music for all tastes. The burgers were delicious and my husband said the sticky toffee pudding was the best he's ever had. Italian restaurant
Nestled in the charming area of Ashley Cross, Dolce Vita Poole is a delightful Italian fine dining restaurant that transports you straight to Italy with its exquisite homemade dishes and authentic ingredients. The talented chefs have skillfully reimagined traditional family recipes, infusing them with a modern flair that promises an unforgettable culinary experience. Upon entering through the adjoining bar, guests are greeted warmly and seated promptly, setting the stage for a memorable meal.
Had a lovely meal for my friends birthday. There were 8 of us and everyone got their food at the same time (starters and mains) and we all loved our food. Our waiter was very attentive and ensured our requests were met. Three of us wanted steaks bigger than what was on the menu so the chef cut them bigger. Presentation was lovely too. I will definitely be returning.

Really enjoyed dinner here. All the dishes come in tapas sizes so we mixed it up and shared lots of food. Fab happy hour. Lovely staff who really looked after us. Live music was on in the bar and by the time we left it was packed with people having fun. Best expresso martini I've had for ages. Party atmosphere. Great place.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The food was delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Their kindness and attention to detail really took our evening to the next level. The music added the perfect vibe, and we had such a fun, memorable time. Highly recommend!

Food was fantastic, a solid 8/10, the calzone pizza was incredible. Highly recommend their tiramisu, 9.5/10, only wish there was more 🙂‍↕️ Service was good and restaurant was empty, quite surprised to see very few people around. Went with family, but it would be a great location for a date, as there’s a small park opposite for a nice walk after as well. Very lovely lighting too, romantic.

I went to this incredible Italian restaurant last Friday, and it was nothing short of amazing. The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the mouthwatering aroma of authentic Italian food—it instantly transported me to the heart of Italy. I ordered the carbonara, and let me tell you: it was the best I’ve had in Bournemouth, hands down. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, just like they serve it in Rome. No shortcuts, no heavy cream—just the real deal. The atmosphere, the smell, the flavors—everything felt genuinely Italian. It’s rare to find a place that gets it so right. If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, this is the place. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great evening celebrating a friend's birthday. Carla and Nanda were really lovely and helpful, always with a smile on their faces. The cocktail happy hour deal were very nice. The Carbonara was delicious, really recommended and my friend's Torteline Sofia was beautiful as well. Highly recommended Italian restaurant.

St Tropez Lounge, located in Poole, is a new dining spot offering exquisite seafood and French cuisine. The restaurant is the brainchild of Severine and Frederic Seweryn, who have a strong background in hospitality and culinary arts. Their previous venture, Guildhall Tavern, was recognized as the Best Restaurant in Dorset and has been featured in prestigious guides like Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide.
Is this really one of Bournemouth's best restaurants? We wanted somewhere to go that we could take our doggies with us. If you book on their website and tick you are bringing a dog, they will allocate a suitable table. Upon arrival, we were all very warmly greeted. As if we were old friends. Bearing in mind we had only just booked with them for the first time an hour earlier. We were shown to a reserved table on the terrace. The food they serve is Seafood and French cuisine. It's open all day from breakfast time to evening. As it was lunchtime you can choose from their Bistro or Main menu. We went for a couple of starters. Scallops in Normandy garlic butter. Double baked cheese souffle finished with cream. And for mains:- Turbot fish pie. Fresh Turbot, mixed fish, prawns & mushrooms, Muscadet cream sauce topped with mash. Monkfish Medallions & Tiger Prawns In a red Thai curry served with rice. We were not planning on having a dessert. But noticed they do an all time classic of Crêpes Suzette, orange segments, flambéed with Grand Marnier. The food served here is excellent, with menu choices that are mind-boggling. If you can't decide what to have? It's the sort of place you could go to and just say, "Bring me anything". That's if your are not a fussy eater🤣 Yes,this really is one of Bournemouth's best multi- award winning restaurants, and we can see why. With great food, exceptional service and amazing hospitality.

This was our first time here as recommended by my mums friend. Super tasty and fresh seafood, and fabulous service. The owner and chef came out to greet us which made it an even more enjoyable experience. The garlic scallops, oysters and grilled Dover sole was my favourite!

What a lovely gem of a restaurant we found by accident on our holiday last week. We were welcomed with our dog (it was lunchtime) - superb service and wonderful food. Next time we are that end of the country we will be back. Even the iced water was infused with Lemon, Lime and Mint. Much needed as it was a hot day. Thank you to the lovely staff - it was lovely.

We had been recommended to this restaurant by friends and relations. It did not disappoint. Very French but with a sense of humour, the staff were lovely and attentive and it had a light and fun atmosphere. They clearly took the food very seriously though, and the food and the wine were both outstanding. I thought it placed the sea but it doesn’t, or at least the section we sat in did not, however it did look out onto the quay side.

HIGH END QUALITY!! If I could give 6 stars I would!!! From moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm smile 😊 exceptional food that is stunningly put together … each course looks like a piece of art! Truely delicious & the flavour bombs you get from each mouthful is out of this world. Amazing Fresh & New cocktails!!!! Front of house service was impeccable ♥️ and the knowledgeable father regarding wine pairings …. WOW! It was beautiful to see such a well oiled machine/resturant ! Which is run by their family♥️ we truely had a lovely experience at your restaurant and can’t compliment you ALL enough! Your hard work & dedication shows. We thank you 🙏 ♥️

Our second visit to this amazing restaurant and where do I start with the feedback?. The food & wine (and cocktails) were obviously outstanding as always. The wonderful family team of Alex, Frances, Hem and Elisabeth plus the new fab addition of Gee made us feel so welcome and relaxed. I honestly don't have anything apart from 'simply perfect' from start to finish to say about Thirteen. If you haven't been yet then make sure you book as this is a culinary experience not to be missed!. Thank you Thirteen for a fantastic night - we will be back!

A fantastic dinner celebrating our wedding anniversary. Alex and the team couldn’t have done more to make it special. Great food, atmosphere, service and fun. Best restaurant in Bournemouth area.
David A — Google review
From the outside, the location and entrance are modest and unassuming. But once inside, you are warmly greeted by the father, who introduces you to his daughter, son, and the rest of the team. Even as the restaurant fills up, you feel as though their sole focus is on you. This is far more than simply having food placed in front of you — each dish comes with a story. The chef personally delivers the plates, explaining the inspiration behind each creation. Presentation is impeccable, with every course served on a beautifully unique plate. While every dish we tried deserved five stars, three standouts must be mentioned. I’m not usually a fan of anchovies, but the lamb with anchovy was nothing short of extraordinary. The beef with chanterelle mushrooms will stay in my memory forever. And the blackberry and nectarine dessert stopped me in my tracks with its incredible freshness and depth of flavour — so much so that I had to shake the chef’s hand. We left the restaurant walking home talking about the food, the service, and the unforgettable experience. Thank you.

This was posted by our son, Alex on Facebook. Suffice to say Thirteen more than delivered. Mum and dad concur. “This was absolutely extraordinary. This is Thirteen, a relatively new restaurant that's open near us and is PHENOMENAL in every way. My parents and I checked this out yesterday night to celebrate my 23rd birthday, and were absolutely blown away by it. I couldn't possibly have asked for a better birthday dinner. The whole experience was flawless from the incredible welcome on entry, to the service throughout, to the birthday card I received just before the dessert, signed by the whole team. That latter one especially blew me away - it was truly above and beyond, and deserves a special "thank you". Head chef Alex, along with his parents Elizabeth and Hem are absolute gems, and their passion was wonderful to see. But that goes for all the chefs, who took it in turns to introduce some of the courses, who I didn't quite catch the names of. It's rare you see such passion these days. And this doesn't even cover the immaculate, even spellbinding, 13 course degustation menu. To be honest I'm really struggling to name a favourite course, as they were all out of this world levels of brilliant, but I think the "herbs, cabbage", "mushroom, mushroom", and "brill, lardo" come out on top, roughly in that order as top. This was an absolutely brilliant experience that is fully deserving of a 5/5 rating on any review platform, and one that I really hope gets a Michelin Star soon - it could compete with (and probably exceed) any restaurant that already holds one any day. Absolutely tremendous, and I cannot wait to return.”

I couldn't fault the last visit. Was served by the manager Claire. She was brilliant, fast and even provided us with drinks not on the menu. Turned on the Aircon for us too as it was very hot. We were then served by Sophia who was also excellent. Very friendly, gave great service and made sure we made the most of our app vouchers and didn't want a tip. Really good service. So much better than before when we had the kids The bottomless brunch has changed, but the food you get is a lot more. Just a few less cocktails but we still enjoyed them Definitely the best bottomless brunch

The Poole Arms is a historic and rustic pub located on Poole Quay, dating back to the early 17th century. Adorned with beautiful green tiles and featuring the Poole Coat of Arms, this establishment offers a charming dining experience. Run by friendly hosts, Bob Kerr and Maureen, it specializes in homemade seafood dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The pub's terrace provides a picturesque setting to enjoy international wines alongside delicious meals.
Holy! This place was such a gem to stumble across in Poole. The prices were incredibly reasonable compared to all the other surrounding places AND for fresh seafood. I’m from Australia and I know good seafood and by god THIS is good seafood. We ordered the oysters which were HUGH, the scallops and the sardines for starters which were all fantastic and tasted fresh. Then, we ordered the smoked haddock pot, the skate wing and the sea bass and gosh all were 10/10. I think the skate wing and the smoked haddock pot were the highlights. The chef definitely knows how to cook fish. Also, the servers were amazing - big shout out to Emma and Debbie - they all had great banter and were very professional. If I wasn’t leaving tomorrow, I would be back again and again.

Staying in Poole for a few days, 30 seconds away from this gorgeous pub. It has set the standard for all food we will eat, and service going forward. The freshest oysters we've ever eaten. 10/10 recommend and would return.

The food at Poole arms was so delicious. The portions are huge and you can tell that everything is freshly made. The menu is also really well priced, we had starters, mains and alcoholic drinks for two at around £80. As the pub is so small I would definitely recommend booking. We booked on the day and only had the choice of first or last table as they’re quite popular! It’s very quaint inside but is very old school pub style and not very modern. All of the staff were really friendly so if you are looking for a lovely old pub experience I would thoroughly recommend.

Delicious, fresh and well-cooked food superbly presented with great and honest service. Really good ambience in the pub as well. We had been wanting to visit Poole Arms for quite some time and, yesterday, we finally made the journey. It was well worth the wait and the travel. The place itself is located on Poole Quay. A charming, and quirky little place and with such a welcoming atmosphere. The seafood was our reason for going and Poole Arms did not disappoint!! It was exquisite!! I had the Gambas Pil Pil to start and the Poole Arms Seafood Casserole for my main. Both were cooked to perfection and were absolutely delicious. The menu offers seafood lovers a great selection of well-cooked, and delicious starters and mains, and there is also a great selection of ploughman's and sandwiches. All in all, I would highly recommend a visit to Poole Arms. Book well in advance as it is a very popular venue, and with good reason!! We went back today for lunch. Delicious food and excellent service. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Dropped in Thursday 5pm for drinks, Tia and Lexi acknowledged us straight away. So we reserved a table for 6pm whilst we sat outside with drinks and quayside views. We loved our visit! The staff is wonderful and the food is incredible. It definitely felt like being in Spain. Couldn't recommend just one thing: everything we tried was superb. Croquetas, albóndigas, bravas, cheese, jamón... and the alioli! You MUST try it. Remember to save some space for dessert, though, as they're also delicious. Will definitely visit again the next time we're around.

Fantastic find on Google reviews. Off the beaten track so unlikely to come across this place by accident. The waitress was fantastic. So friendly, outstanding service and even surprised my father with a complimentary birthday treat at the end. And as for the food, it was incredible. Lola's is a family run and friendly Spanish restaurant specialising in tapas. Comparison with food served in mainland Spain is inevitable, but those comparison and prejudices should be left at the door. Lola's do their tapas dishes in their own style and some will be hit or miss. On our first visit in July 2021 we ordered a mixture of dishes including patas bravas, prawn pil-pil, grilled prawns, jamon croquettes, squid rings, and chocolate fondue which we greatly enjoyed. Highly recommended. Our second visit in June 2022 was just as good as the visit, highlights were the garlic prawns, patatas bravas and extra spicy pil-pil prawns. And the service was once again very friendly. Another visit to Lolas with the family in November 2024 and once again great tapas. The star being the garlic prawns. The most recent visit to Lolas was in July 2025 when my wife and I had sangria, pil-pil prawns, ham croquettes, squid rings, deep fried aubergines with honey, bread with alioli, and patatas bravas. Followed by creme catalan and Almond Tart for dessert. Muy buena.
James D — Google review
Lola’s Tapas Restaurant is a great little, authentic restaurant. There is a good range of choice on the menu with all the usual favourites for a tapas. Sangria by the glass or jug with a choice of other drinks too. The service was friendly and quick. It’s not a big place and the atmosphere on a Saturday night was buzzing with great - but that does mean if you want to go you probably need a reservation.

Shell Bay Seafood Restaurant is a casual dining venue located by the beach, offering a menu focused on seafood and more. The restaurant provides outside tables with stunning sea views. Situated on one of the National Trust's protected Studland beaches, it offers soft-sanded shores backed by dunes and overlooks Pooles glimmering harbor waters and Brownsea Island. The establishment has been recognized for its excellent seafood dishes and al a carte menu, catering to even the most discerning palates.
What can I say?!? This was the best meal we had during our time staying in Sandbanks. Firstly, the service was perfect and we were very well looked after for the entire meal, including a special birthday surprise for one of our group. Every dish, from starters to desserts, was delicious & creative and we could tell they used super fresh ingredients. We loved the fact the restaurant had a laid back & relaxed vibe whilst offering incredible food. And the views were beautiful! Thank you so much Shell Bay and compliments to the chef ☺️

Amazing seafood and spectacular location. Portions are generous and the service first class. Even waiter service for our doggy. Prices are steep but you get what you pay for and the quality of food and cooking could not be faulted. However, the only comment which I mean constructively is that the wonderful seafood just needs some good plain sides. I felt the rather fussy sides were competing with the main dish and we would have liked a choice of simple sides to go with the fish.
Neville M — Google review
The Shell Bay Restaurant is now one of my favourites in Dorset! We went there for my birthday yesterday and I cannot fault it. The menu is extensive, but in no way overwhelming. We opted for a selection of nibbles, rather than two starters, and I am glad we did, as it gives you the opportunity to sample a wider range. All the food was outrageously tasty and beautifully presented. The service was utterly impeccable - one of our waiters has worked there for 11 years! - and the views/location are definitely some of the best in the UK. Dogs are very welcome, and all the staff made such a fuss of our two little Pugs. Would I go back? The biggest YES ever! This restaurant scores a perfect 10/10 from me in every respect. Simply stunning!

Booked here for a birthday meal for a dear friend. Have wanted to go there for a while and we weren't disappointed. Great to see an open kitchen. If you’re a well-travelled food lover, this restaurant is unlikely to impress. Aside from the stunning views over Poole Harbour, both the setting and the food felt underwhelming. The atmosphere lacked warmth, character, and flavour. On arrival, there was no welcoming greeting—just a blunt “have you booked?” To make matters worse, the restaurant allows pets inside. Watching dogs drool on tables while being fed by their owners is far from acceptable, and we certainly did not appreciate having to look at a dog’s backside for the duration of our meal. Guests should at least be asked if they’re comfortable sitting near pets, especially given that allergies are common. As someone with a dog allergy, I was shocked to be seated between two dogs with no consideration. If restaurants ask about food allergies, why not pet allergies too? When we raised a concern about the skate wings—which were left unfinished because they didn’t seem properly cooked—the waitress merely replied, “hopefully dessert will be better,” which hardly inspires confidence. At nearly £200 for two, the experience felt disappointing and overpriced. Even the oysters, though nicely presented, were so small they resembled cockles rather than the delicacy you’d expect. Overall, the restaurant feels overrated and overpriced, and I would not recommend it. There are plenty of restaurants in and around Swanage offering far more flavoursome food, better value, and a much more enjoyable dining experience. 👎👎👎👎👎

Wow – Stunning Food with a View This fabulous fish restaurant has stunning view across the water to Brownsea Island. However, be aware that there is no parking at the site, but, there is a 200 metre walk from a National Trust car park that charges £5 for non-members. There is an excellent choice of fresh fish that is cooked on a grill. We had the langoustine and anchovies as starters then both elected to go for the grilled palace as main course. Great, friendly service, the restaurant is pricey, but good value for money. We went there for lunch, but have to have to go back for dinner to catch the sunset over Poole Harbour.

What stunning restaurant, so beautifully decorated and styled, it really causes you to stop and stare as you enter the doors! My husband and I had booked the Valentine’s set meal and had arrived a little early, we were the first to enter but were greeted warmly and shown to our table. We enjoyed sipping some Valentines Cocktails whilst we waited on our food… Nibbles - EBI Senbei (prawn crackers) - huge crackers with a spicy mayonnaise type dip to go with them. To Start - Aigamo Gyozas (crispy duck dumplings with hoisin) & Heart-Shaped California Roll (Dorset crab meat, avocado and cucumber topped with tobiko, spicy may and tempura crumb). - Both were very tasty, the gyozas really crisp on the outside and the hoisin had a deep, strong flavour which was great. The California roll was really good, however they did fall apart really easily so you ended up with a good chunk of it in your soy dipping dish. To Follow - Tori Katsu Curry (chicken katsu with Japanese curry sauce) & Yakisoba (chicken, king prawns and vegetables stir-fried with ramen noodles). Now these 2 dishes were absolutely fantastic! The chicken katsu was SO crisp, we’ve not experienced such a crisp coating ever in chicken, whilst the chicken stayed succulent and the sauce was really flavoursome. The yakisoba had plenty of chicken and prawns and the vegetables were very fresh. To Finish - Matcha Platter For 2 (Two mini matcha brûlée, matcha mochi and matcha chocolate truffles). The brûlée was really creamy, although cold, the truffles smooth and intense and the mochi were incredibly cold (the centre was still a little frozen) and was so-so. Some improvement was needed here. After the Valentine’s cocktails we had a couple of pints of Drgnfly pilsner which was a very decent pilsner, with great taste and a smooth finish. Throughout the meal all servers were friendly, attention and smiling throughout the meal. Our main server was Karly and she was truly wonderful, so full of joy, nothing was too much trouble and she was enthusiastic about making sure you had everything to enjoy a great evening. Thank you Karly! Some feedback - for such an amazingly styled restaurant full out authentic charm, the music was a rather odd choice, it was standard music you would hear in the car, rather than some traditional Asian instrumental work that we were expecting.

What a fantastic lunch today at Drgnfly. Hosted by the unflappable Lauren who was not only a wonderful floor manager and server. She simply navigated the day sublimely. Joshua on the bar gave us a wonderful glimpse of the homemade syrups and bases for the cocktails and we were delighted with the Champane Mojitos. The food was beautifully plated and delicious. We had the Aidan Gyoza (Crispy duck dumpling's), Shio Kosho (salt and pepper squid), Dynamite Shrimp, Firecracker Sushi, the Sushi platter for 2, and Sake Teriyaki. Dessert platter for two… berry cheesecake, brownie, Matcha bites and Matcha pancakes…

Really aesthetically pleasing as soon as you walk in it really gives you the oh wow !!!! We went on a Sunday evening so it wasn’t busy and by the end we were in our own . Food was ok , the sushi was delicious , but the steak for the price of it was a little lack lustre . Service is good and friendly .

One of the best restaurants around, if not the best! The food is exquisite, the hospitality is brilliant and friendly! I really enjoyed the evening. Every dish was cooked to perfection along with the most beautiful, mouth watering flavours! Its a real treat to come here! You won't be disappointed

Avoid at All Costs – A Complete Disaster from Start to Finish I rarely leave reviews, but this place was so appalling it deserves a public warning. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a pleasant experience. The staff looked like they’d rather be anywhere else, and we were ignored for a good 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence — and when they did, the service was indifferent at best, bordering on rude. As for the food? Absolutely shocking. What was advertised as “authentic pan-Asian cuisine” was little more than reheated slop that wouldn’t pass in a motorway service station. The sushi was warm (yes, warm), the noodles were overcooked and drowning in oil, and the supposedly “crispy” duck tasted like it had been fried last week and microwaved to death. Bland, greasy, and completely uninspired. Drinks took forever, the wrong dishes were brought out more than once, and no one ever came to check on our table. When we raised polite concerns, we were met with blank stares and a shrug. Overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly embarrassing. If this is what they consider “premium Asian fusion,” then they need to go back to the basics — starting with edible food and basic hospitality. Do yourself a favour and eat literally anywhere else.

I went on date recently with my girlfriend recently and I had a fantastic time. The food was delicious and the staff were lovely. We were the last people in the restaurant but there was no pressure in rushing us out the door and encouraged us to get dessert too, staying open longer than they needed to just for us. Fantastic place will continue to come back!

Ojo Rojo is a charming, independently owned restaurant and bar located in Bournemouth, offering a warm and rustic-modern ambiance. The menu features Mexican cuisine with a twist, including elevated street tacos and tapas inspired by Central American flavors. Whether you're a vegan, gluten-free, or a meat lover, there are plenty of options to choose from such as pulled pork tacos, vegan nachos, shrimp, and chicken wings.
I loved it here! We ate so many different things and everything tasted amazing! My highlights were the pork tacos and the trio of dips with tortilla chips (one of the dips is hot cheese!) The cocktails are really interesting and delicious. Staff were very friendly and informative, even warned us before the kitchen was closing so we could order any more food we wanted. The decor is very fun with pretty twinkling lights. My only tiny gripe was that I did get a little bit chilly towards the end of the meal but otherwise a perfect dinner out.

Went in for my partners birthday, took him for food and drinks and it was fab! Great service, great drinks and recommendations. Was still very quiet when we were in there, I think we were 1 of 3 tables sat down but atmosphere was still good and waiters very friendly! Deffo recommend!

Was a quieter evening when we went. Service was good and everything came within a reasonable time. The atmosphere was still lovely and the lady that served us was so amazing and friendly!! The corn ribs were the BEST, honestly wasn’t expecting them to be so good but they were one of our favourites. Would recommend!!

Amazing place. My friend and I chose Ojo Rojo because she needs a decent gluten free me u with plenty of options. We had not visited here before but will definitely be back again. We loved the ambience, look of the place, lovely warm welcome. Great menu choices for food and drinks. We had mulled wine 🍷 on the advice of the server. Every dish was gorgeous and as he predicted we didn't eat it all and took a doggie bag home. The guys that served us were welcoming, friendly and fun.

Came here for dinner on a visit to Bournemouth, it's a great cool spot, staff were polite and friendly from the point we arrived to when we left, good choice of dishes, everything tasted great, and the happy hour cocktails were also fantastic! Well worth a visit if you're in the area, not one to be missed!

Amazing food and service! Visited about 6 on a Sunday evening, and it was quiet. We ordered the chicken enchiladas to share, the chicken and the duck tacos, and 2 tapas, which were the hasselback chorizo and the rojo rice.

Really wanted to love this place. I love mexican food and tapas and this place looked amazing. Unfortunately my high expectations were too high. Half of of the food we had was very bland and some of it was very small. We did like the duck, the chorizo and potatoes though. We'd only order these if we went again We tried 2 of your cocktails and they we really bitter. they're a different type of cocktail compared to most other places. They look amazing but they're very marmite Service was a mixed bag. The Swedish/European guy was amazing but the other guy with the dark hair wasn't. We had to ask him twice for some garlic sauce and didn't know how to process out gift card

While it's temporarily smaller than it was before the food is still as good as I remember - but watch this space as I overheard the exciting new plans and I can't wait!

Breakfast restaurant
Brasserie Blanc in Bournemouth is an upscale French restaurant with a menu crafted by renowned chef Raymond Blanc. Located in Lymington, it offers easy access from London and the Isle of Wight, boasting stunning sea views and proximity to the New Forest. The restaurant's seasonal menu features dishes like fresh asparagus with poached egg, garden chicken with morels and sherry cream sauce, and lemon parfait with kirsch-soaked cherries.
This establishment offers a delightful culinary experience, featuring delicious cuisine and thoughtfully prepared gluten-free options. The service was exemplary, deserving of a five-star rating. A particular commendation is extended to Valerio, who provided exceptional assistance with the menu and enriched the dining experience with engaging insights into Italian traditions, while also showing genuine interest in my own cultural background. His attentive and proactive service ensured a thoroughly enjoyable meal. I anticipate returning in the near future.

We dined at Brassiere Blanc for Fathers Day lunch and we were greeted warmly by Justin. He offered me a beer on the house. The service was fantastic and attentive The food was superb. We had the Rib Eye for two with all the trimmings. It was a perfectly cooked steak and very tasty. The cottage pie side and crispy potatoes were show stoppers as well. Desert the pistachio soufflé and the rebar crumble were delicious. A must go to for a great seaside location and a great tasting meal. 5/5 on all accounts

Food- As shown in the photo, the salad accompanying the Devon crab was a bit small and wilted, chips were a generous portion but soggy. But, the devon crab itself was great being rich and fresh in flavour. We also had the escargots which were not shown, they were submerged in garlic butter making them quite oily and ‘bubbling’ hot upon arrived. Service- Nice and polite, some requests were forgotten, unfortunately. However, the bill was incorrect due being charged independently for each children’s dish rather 2 course’s price. Atmosphere- Quiet and amazing sea view. Tables reasonably well spaced.

A place with a good atmosphere, French music in the background, and delicious food. Everything is fresh, made with fresh ingredients by the chefs, not frozen like in some restaurants. The service is very friendly and attentive. I recommend it 100%.

We walked in this restaurant due to a bad weather, the waiter told us that we should come back 30 minutes later, actually they have a bar, why not just tell us to go to the bar first? I don’t understand. I feel not welcome. We ordered a bottle of water, and we didn’t get the water after we finished our dinner. But We still paid 5 pounds for tips. Because the food was delicious.

me and my partner visited this establishment and we were vividly disappointed. on first arrival everything seemed fine, service was great and we ordered our food. we were not asked if we had any allergies but on our receipt they had in fact said we had none. (luckily we didn't but lucky it wasn't someone with an allergy). we had the bread with dips to start and fair to say they were brilliant really enjoyed the simple starter. after that we were sat at the table waiting for over 1 hour for our mains. people next to us were eating their food and finishing before we even had ours. anyway after waiting an hour we got our food. i had the rabbit and my partner ordered the trout. my partners trout was in fact salmon as she was served the totally wrong dish. my rabbit, was fine but the mash potatoes were just slop and the 'mustard sauce' was just oil. as well as this, the food was not hot at all, lukewarm at best. after receiving the bill we were told that 2 of the cokes had been removed for such a long wait (nice gesture) just to find that the total of these cokes removed was added as gratuity. Safe to say the staff were friendly in this establishment but not attentive to our concerns. there was no communication to the guests about the wait time of the food until after we received it. really unfortunate because this place at first glance looks really nice but in fact is not.

If you're looking for a spot to enjoy some delicious Italian wines in the sun, then Rosso's is the perfect place! Withviews of some beautiful locations, the restaurant is warm and inviting with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The menu features a variety of dishes including pizzas and pasta, as well as tempting starters such as salads and antipasti. So whether you're looking for something light or hearty, there's something on the menu to suit your needs!
Went there in a Thursday night when it was warm enough to enjoy a walk down the quay. We were welcomed warmly and invited to take a seat be the window so we could enjoy the view of the quay. The waitress was very attentive and relaxed. Was able to joke with her. The ambiance was great. The smell of Italian food, nice background music and warm with a great view. We had 3 courses, a sharing platter for starters. A seafood pasta for main and a Creme Brûlée for dessert. Finished with a coffee. The food was amazing. It came out quick enough and we were not rushed. Even after the meal and we paid the bill, I didn’t want to leave. It’s a great restaurant and if you are thinking of trying it, you should. If you are not thinking about it, you should.

Would definitely go again. Great for couples/families.

Small and busy restaurant with good views of the Quay. Food was lovely and authentic (see photos). I had the melanzane parmigiana and it was the best I've had in a long while (and aubergine/eggplant is easy to get wrong!). We all cleaned our plates! Good choice of drinks and I appreciated the fact my Aperol Spritz came with different fruit in it....lemon, lime, blueberry and strawberry. Extra refreshing on a warm day. Decor is simple but pretty and it is dominated by large windows (the only snag being low lying sun!). What really made this restaurant was the staff though. They were good with communication and explained they were a little behind, asked if that was OK etc. They were very warm, friendly and polite. Definitely felt like eating at Nonna's with true Italian hospitality! Recommend and will definitely go back if in the area again.

View across Poole Harbour and service awesome. For me the pizza I'd like a little bit more authentic, hence 4 star for me. 4.5 Stars if I could. Everyone else loved the food. Looking forward to trying something else next time. Bill was for 9 people, pizzas are cheaper than the major retailers.

Went here for lunch on Sunday whilst the sun was shining, Christian was very helpful and made us very welcome. We had an amazing table outside on the terrace over looking Poole harbour/ Quay. The food was very good, I had the lamb which was a decent sized piece of meat and my wife had chicken pasta and the price was excellent value for money. Wine was reasonably priced and so was the food, total bill £60 per person including a good quality bottle of wine, we will definitely return to this restaurant.

🕓 I visited Rosso's Italiano on Saturday 22 March 2025 at lunchtime. I was with one other person. This was my first visit. 🍽 The restaurant comprises of one medium sized main dining area with plenty of tables with full table service. The restaurant was bright and clean with a good view over Poole Quay - great for people watching! 🤗 The team were incredibly friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. 🍕 I enjoyed the four meat pizza for my main course and the chocolate brownie for dessert. The food arrived hot, was very well presented and tasted exceptionally good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. 💷 The food was good value for money. ⭐️ Overall I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely come and visit again. ⏳️ I spent around an hour and a half here.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this charming restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the owners made us feel genuinely welcome, warm, friendly, and incredibly professional. Their passion for hospitality really shines through in every detail. The starters were fantastic, the calamari was fresh, lightly crispy, and perfectly paired with a creamy garlic sauce and lemon. The prawns in butter and garlic sauce were divine, served with toasted bread and beautifully presented alongside a crisp salad garnish. For mains, the seafood pasta was a real showstopper, full of flavour, generously portioned, and filled with mussels, prawns, and rich tomato sauce. The crab linguine was equally delicious, with just the right balance of spice and sweetness from the cherry tomatoes. Every plate was thoughtfully presented and absolutely bursting with flavour. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food, a lovely atmosphere, and heartfelt service. We will definitely be back!

A hidden gem towards the bridge end of Poole Quay. We booked in for Sunday lunch and definitely were disappointed. A starter of mussels really set the tone for what was to come. We favoured the fish dishes, bass and sowrdfish, but there was also a good selection of meat and veggie dishes, with an absolutely delightful peach dish shared between us for desest. Service was great, but then you don't survive 47 years by being average. If you're in Poole and along the Quay, definitely an option to consider

We have a tradition of going out for a family meal on the first Sunday of the month and decided that a return visit to the Rope & Anchor was in order. It's a Wadworth pub so a good selection of real ales available and the cellarman is doing a great job. The food is very much standard pub choices plus Sunday roasts and a few specials. Excellent value for money, well cooked, crackling cruncy and good yorkshire. I did find the cauliflower cheese a bit disappointing. The cauliflower was well cooked, suitably aldente, but the cheese sauce lt it down, a bit waterery which saw it pooling at the bottom of the dish, rather than coating the cauliflower. Conversely the Dorset Cheese Board at theend of the meal was a real highlight, rich in flavours and with a really good chutney. Atmosphere waqs relaxed, staff attentive, good value.

Came here for the first time for the Sunday roast dinner and all 3 of us are presently surprised at how good the food was; the portions are generous, even the meat, and everything tasted really good and fresh. The left overs from nan's roast (as stayed, very generous) was wrapped really well to take home. This is one of the only places my Notoriously fussy Nan has actually liked! Hotel du Vin Poole is a chic hotel located in an 18th-century building in Poole Old Town. The hotel offers stylish rooms and suites, a French bistro, a cozy bar, and wine tasting experiences. Guests can enjoy convenient amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, wedding services, and tour/ticket assistance. The Bistro du Vin restaurant specializes in British cuisine, while the bar/lounge offers a variety of drinks.
Attended a wedding reception at the hotel. Deceptively spacious building. Looks small from the front but behind that frontage is a lovely enclosed and patio area and part-covered patio for those seeking shade or shelter from the rain. The facilities inside the hotel are great with an intimate dining area in the Port room as well as a larger dining area in the bistro. Staff are super friendly and helpful and very attentive. The food was perfectly cooked and well presented, arriving hot and fresh at the table. A great experience and I will definitely go back for an afternoon tea one day.

Very stylish and comfortable hotel. The location is ideal close to the Quay. The staff are pleasant and attentive. Outside there is a large attractive garden area with seating. Inside a comfortable bar area and lounges and an air cooled dining room where breakfast is served. The breakfast is excellent. Brilliantly cooked and with a vast choice of cereals, cakes etc. Our room was spacious, brightly decorated and spotlessly clean. I have slightly meanly taken one star off because, as with other Hotels du Vin the cold tap doesn't run cold. Not really the greatest problem but I don't like cleaning my teeth in warm water. Also like other Hotels du Vin there is no lift but the helpful receptionist took our case up to our room so no problem. All in all a very pleasant stay in a wonderful hotel.

If you are taking the Brittany Ferry, this hotel works for the location. We stayed in a deluxe room, which had everything you would need. However, the hotel is a hidden gem with an excellent front of house and restaurant team working hard to ensure you have a wonderful overnight stay. The bistro has an extensive food and wine menu and don't forget your night cap from the whisky list. Thank you so much for an excellent stay.

Absolutely Disgraceful Treatment – Avoid at All Costs I am appalled at how I was treated by this hotel. I booked a room in advance for myself (heavily pregnant) and my young child, only to receive a voicemail—not even a proper phone call—saying the hotel had double-booked and had no room for us. This message came while my phone battery was dead, so we only found out upon arrival that we had nowhere to stay. We were three hours from home, exhausted, and I was already dealing with the challenges of being heavily pregnant with a young child in tow. The hotel staff were shockingly unhelpful and rude. They offered no support, no apology, and no effort to help resolve the situation, despite the urgency and seriousness. All hotels in the area were fully booked, and the only available room we could find was over £650—which they outright refused to contribute to, even though the mistake was entirely theirs. The lack of empathy, responsibility, and basic human decency shown was disgusting. I habe no choice but to drive back three hours home, heavily pregnant, with a small child, late at night—completely stranded by their incompetence and lack of care. I would strongly warn anyone considering staying here: do not trust this hotel. If anything goes wrong, you’ll be left on your own, no matter how vulnerable or urgent your situation is. Shame on them for treating paying customers this way.

My husband and I often come to Hotel Dun Vin to have drinks in the courtyard during the summer months and love it, it’s a real hidden gem in Poole. We’ve had lunch a few times which has always been delicious and so decided to go there for dinner for our anniversary. We had the chateaubriand and Malbec deal, added the Camembert mash which was genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life! We had the most incredible meal, everything was cooked to perfection and the service was also absolutely fantastic. Would highly recommend and looking forward to many more visits.

Lovely hotel and nice room! Had a small panic attack when I thought there was no tea but found this hiding in the cupboard. Great location in Poole old town with a short walk to the many bars and restaurants in the area. Only gripe would be parking. Very limited parking space but that's nothing the hotel can do it's just the location. Would definitely go back!

Lovely hotel very conveniently placed near the front.Only a small area available for guest parking but there is plenty of parking available close by.Rooms are very comfortable with nice bathrooms.Breakfasts are very nice with a wide variety.Very reasonable evening menu and choice.Hotel has an extensive wine list.Staff were very friendly and obliging. Would stay here again.

Enjoyed a mid week lunch here with my wife. The carvery was excellent as expected with plenty of choice if well cooked food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for great food. This was mid-week and there was plenty of parking. Highly recommended! Thankyou

We popped in on the off chance of a place being available. We were offered a bar table. The gent who advised us (wearing a Hawaiian style top) was polite, professional and an asset to the company. We had to do self-service and order at the bar. The young bar man that served us was polite, professional and funny and made us feel welcomed. The food was good as! usual. Whilst eating our food we could hear the 'front of house' man doing his thing with waiting customers. His bedside manor is excellent and made all feel valued and important.

We came to eat as a rather large group ( 24) For our annual slimming world Christmas lunch. The staff were amazing. The gentleman who orginal took our booking was very helpful and happily added a couple more people on. The lady who took our order and served our food was brilliant even with people changing their mind from the two course to the three course lunch!! And then smiling even when another two people wanted to order starters! We had a really fantastic meal. All food served at the same time. Not too long await at the carvery. Vegetarian food was well received, and the desserts looked pretty yummy! Great atmosphere and a lovely time was had by us all. I was volunteered to book the meal this year but with the fantastic organisation of the restaurant staff I feel happy to take on the role next year. That said, i will be in before then,as a family we love to eat at the toby Northbourne 😋

A mix-up over table size( my mistake) on a very busy night, was quickly and very politely dealt with by the manager, and our server, Martin was very friendly. Queues for food were very long and food only just warm. The meats were well_cooked but vegetables were uninspiring, either very hard or claggy. It was a Christmas outing, so probably queues may not usually be that long.

This is nowhere near as good as the Cooper Dean one. We walked up to the bar, and the manager saw us but walked away. When I said aloud that we are being ignored, someone else came to help us. We were then told that the manager was actually the one who needed to help us. We had to stand & wait till he came back to assist us. There is a sign stating to check in at the bar. We did that. We were told to wait at the other counter. We've never had a good experience yet. It's always been an issue. One waiter had to serve the whole restaurant, he was very good, but we had to wait a while to pay. We would definitely rather go to Cooper Dean. The only issue we had there was not knowing we had to register our vehicle & received a fine. I contested & didn't have to pay in the end. They now have a sign at the entrance to warn you, so no one should get caught out now.

Nestled on the outskirts of Poole, The Yachtsman is a charming family-friendly pub that radiates warmth and hospitality. Just a stone's throw from Hamworthy Park and the beach, it’s an ideal spot for casual dining with kids in tow. Families can unwind while children enjoy the dedicated play area, making it perfect for leisurely afternoons.
Family meal for mothers day. Grandchildren enjoyed macaroni cheese and ice-cream. Adults all had the roast beef. The roast potatoes veg Yorkshire pud etc were all very tasty. We also had a sharing platter with pigs in blankets, extra roast pots & cauli cheese. Beef a little tough & stringy in places. Probably just the joint we had as I understand they can vary. Excellent service from the lovely Grace . Meals were served quickly and we're nice and hot. Nice atmosphere and comfortable seating. We live in Poole but haven't been to the Yatchsman in years due to past bad experiences but things have certainly changed and we will be back.

The Yachtsman is a warm and inviting spot, perfect for a relaxed pint and good conversation. The interior blends classic pub charm with a touch of nautical character — wooden beams, soft lighting from vintage-style lamps, and maritime details create a cosy, welcoming feel. The seating is a mix of sturdy wooden tables, comfortable leather armchairs, and higher bar stools, offering plenty of choice depending on your mood. Large windows bring in natural light, and the gentle hum of friendly chatter adds to the laid-back atmosphere. It’s the sort of place where you instantly feel at ease, whether you’re catching up with friends or simply soaking in the ambience with a drink in hand.

We had a really nice meal at the Yachtsman this evening. We ordered roast dinners, and the food was very tasty and there was lots of it. Good value for money. Popped in twice this week… because once just wasn’t enough. First visit was for their special pizza, which was freshly made, perfect pesto drizzle, genuinely 10/10. Came back for brunch as they open at 9am now and had the veggie breakkie, the hash browns and mushrooms… actually out of this planet. Staff were super chill and really attentive both times. It was a little quiet when I was in, but you can tell it’s got the vibe to be a proper community spot. Definitely coming back for round three!

AMAZING Tuesday deal - £10 for any steak. We enjoyed an 8oz flat iron and the Tomohawk Pork - wow wow wow. Perfectly cooked and huge, think I’ll be going every Tuesday from now on 🤣 get booking as it was busy! They sold out of rump steaks… the wait was looong too as they were so busy but still well worth it. Extra sides are £5/6.

Ate here 3 times in our week stay, staff are amazing and attentive, Sunday roast was fantastic and steak night was also very good, It's not cheap for food or drinks and a service charge of 12.5% is added to the bill, maybe it's the same everywhere in Penn Hill so you just have to go with it?

Went here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. It was nice and quiet so I was able to walk in and still find a table but did start to get busy in the evening! We visited the outdoor terrace of this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate a birthday lunch and found it to be an enjoyable experience overall. The setting, with views overlooking the Bournemouth Gardens, offers a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere that suits casual dining occasions. To start, we ordered the smoked haddock Scotch egg. The flavour was well balanced, with the smokiness of the fish complementing the egg nicely. While the yolk would have ideally been runny, the dish was still a strong introduction to the meal and thoughtfully composed. For our main course, we had the Fish and chips. The fish was well cooked and encased in a crisp, golden batter. However, the fish itself carried a slightly muddy aftertaste—likely due to the variety used—which somewhat detracted from the otherwise commendable execution. The hand-cut chips were excellent and arguably the highlight of the plate, showcasing a clear emphasis on freshness and quality. The pea purée had a pleasant flavour but was served cold, likely due to the plates not being sufficiently heated to retain warmth. The house-made tartar sauce, however, was well seasoned and a welcome addition. We also ordered a seasonal local beer, which paired nicely with the meal. It was flavourful and a fitting accompaniment to the dishes. The service throughout was friendly, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, contributing positively to the overall experience. The total cost came to just under £70 for two starters, two mains, and beer, inclusive of an automatically added service charge. Considering the central location, garden views, and quality of the ingredients, this represents good value for money—particularly when ordering from the set lunch menu, even if the selection is understandably limited. While no individual dish reached perfection, the meal was well prepared, the ingredients were fresh, and the experience overall was enjoyable. A fair rating would be 7 out of 10, and we would consider returning—especially for the home made chips and the inviting outdoor setting.

We had the Best of Both Roast and our son had the Chicken Pops and it was out of this world. It was amazing! My husband had this place recommended to him by 3 different people and it's not hard to see why. We were in the area from Portsmouth for something completely separate, but we both agreed would travel just to eat that roast again. Omg it was so good; everything was cooked to perfection and portion sizes were hugely generous! The staff were so friendly, the service was 15/10 above and beyond, thank you. The only problem was trying to drive an hour home when all I wanted to do was take a post roast nap 😂

The plan was to have dinner here with friends. Never been here before and it was super crowded, the only seats available on saturday night were outside, wooden benches, one heater in the center of the whole garden. We sat quite far from the heating as all seats were taken close to it, decided not to have any food as it was too cold. Shame. Definitely will be back to try that clay oven charcoal pizzas. We've had really nice malbec and yeah willing to go back when it's not so busy so we can sit inside and have a nice meal.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fish & chips restaurant
Harry Ramsden's in Bournemouth is a branch of the renowned fish 'n' chip restaurant chain, offering both takeaway and table service. Situated on Bournemouth's iconic seafront near the Oceanarium, this location is considered one of the largest fish & chip restaurants globally, accommodating over 420 diners with stunning views of the seafront and pier.
What a great location for a restaurant higher up on the east cliff promenade overlooking bournemout beach and pier. The restaurant is well laid out with balcony seating, covered terrace or inside tables. Very roomy airy and well decorated . The staff were super efficient and helpful. We had the famous fish chips and mushy peas and we were not disappointed it was amazing.
Richard B — Google review
I recently tried fish and chips at Harry Ramsden’s. The food was decent – nothing extraordinary, but enjoyable enough. Service was fast and polite, which made the experience smooth. Prices felt a little on the expensive side for what you get. On the plus side, the view overlooking the sea is really nice, and the option of both indoor and outdoor seating is a bonus. Overall, a decent spot, but not outstanding.
Jasmeet S — Google review
Why does Harry Ramsden's now fry in Beef dripping? Certainly not suitable for vegetarians or pescatarians, and a minority of customers for religious reasons would not wish to eat food cooked like this. In the takeaway service section is not even clearly marked that the food is now fried in beef dripping. There is an alternative available 'Palm Oil' on request. But is there not a lot of controversy about the use of Palm Oil? My order was delayed due to requesting my two large Haddock with two regular chips. An IT issue with my order not being sent to the kitchen. But the staff swiftly dealt with this matter. Pricing is reasonable I guess in this location. Just over £30. But one of the fish served looked like it had been in an accident. The waiting area is relatively sparse with self-service terminals to order from. I ordered at the counter and paid cash. The fish was tasty and the chips less so.
M J — Google review
Very enjoyable experience we had here from our waiter Miroslav very professional and helpful and always working with a smile 😃 Very clean premises and toilets were clean and smelling fresh. And for the important part the fish&chips 💯% absolutely delicious and tasty 😋 served hot and the condiments are on point too. So in all a very well presented meal and professional staff. Really lovely atmosphere and facing the beach to look along the sea. That’s just the starter. The fish and chips was absolutely amazing and cooked fresh with an option of beer or vegetarian oils. Really lovely for a meet up with family and friends and is the go to spot when going to the beach.

So I have been around the UK and had Fish & Chips from various places. This one is okay but not the best. That to me is still on the Isle of Skye. Just for the fact in June was an easy place to go at the time was okay. On my fish there was a big chunk of batter with no fish, the fish also tasted a bit stale as if it was an older and not so fresh fish. The dessert however was delicious. Couldn't fault the staff on helpfulness even when we decided we needed to change tables and service was impeccable. In my opinion it is an okay place to go but not the best fish and chips considering the price, this needs working on.
Marcus S — Google review
Great Fish & Chips by the Pier This is a fantastic spot for a takeaway lunch or even a quick brunch while spending time at the beach near the Pier. The quality of the fish is excellent, and the portion sizes are generous. The chips are fairly standard, similar to what you'd find at most fish and chip shops, not my personal favourite, but still decent. The halloumi and cod sandwiches are just as good as the classic fish and chips, and the fish bites are a great option for kids. We ended up coming here two days in a row, it never disappointed! In my opinion, it’s one of the best food options in the area, even compared to the nearby pubs and restaurants.
M M — Google review
Was recommended this place by a friend who is a local, and it was one of the best places I had food from. The fish was very tender, the breading was tasty and they serve a lot of chips. The service was very quick. Despite being decently full, I got my order in less than 2mins. There’s the restaurant on top and the take away below. The takeaway is cheaper and quicker, there’s some tables outside. Just watch for the seagulls.

The Crab at Bournemouth is a refined contemporary seafood restaurant located just steps away from the sea. With two Rosettes and Michelin Star trained chefs, it offers an exceptional dining experience with locally sourced seafood from fishing villages in Dorset, Newlyn, Brixham, and Looe. The menu features gourmet twists on traditional British favorites like fish and chips, made with the highest quality produce that changes with the seasons.
We had Catch of The Day (Sea Bass), and Special Fish and Chips. Both were super delicious, perfect taste, perfectly cooked. It was the first time we had Fish and Chips with 2 special sauces, yummy. They even gave us 1 prawn on the side (it was chef's surprise). The prawn was also really delicious. The service was excellent, the staffs were friendly. But the atmosphere was not really cozy because it was noisy when we had dinner there. Free wifi for customers is available. Toilet for customers is available.

Went for a midweek meal. It was quiet, so we got a table without a reservation. The staff were very nice and took our order promptly. We had anti-pasti to start, and this was quite a small portion for a sharing dish, only one type of meat, but it was very nice. For mains, we had mussels and fries. It was a large portion of mussels, and the sauce was very nice. A lot of the mussels were quite small. Considering how quiet it was, we had a long wait between courses. We enjoyed what we had but found most of the dishes on the menu very expensive. I would have liked more choice of non fizzy soft drinks, but that's just me. If you don't mind the wait and happy to pay a little more, they have a good selection of fresh fish and seafood.

We came here on a Saturday evening; however it wasn't particularly busy. The food was lovely when it arrived, but the service was incredibly slow. It felt as if there were a lot of staff milling around at times. For example, we were asked by multiple people if we were ready to order. The slow service did disappoint us overall as we were expecting good things, so we probably wouldn't return

Surprised at the reviews, as I expected it to be much higher. My partner and I have been dining here a lot over the years, and I can say that its our favourite restaurant for a fine dining experience at an affordable price. My partner and I spend £100-£120 (including tip on top of the service fee) for a main course, wine, and dessert. In my opinion this is excellent pricing for how the quality of the food, and flavour. Its not a fast food restaurant, so be prepared to enjoy your drinks and have a conversation while you wait a reasonable time for your food to come. The waiters are lovely, and help each other out. They also go above and beyond to learn your name when you go more than once. A small thing, but it feels extra special. I took my partner for a birthday meal last night. I had the catch of the day sea-bream. (We usually have the calamari) My partner loved it so much that we returned the next day to have it again. We noticed familiar faces from the previous night too, coming back for seconds. Please don’t concern yourself with the negative reviews. I haven’t been to a restaurant in Bournemouth that is consistent like The Crab. I have never walked away disappointed. They also take your opinions on board and implement them, so they actively improve their service. The catch of the day, and the mousse (bear in mind the menu changes every season so they may not have it) is our favourite.

Walked in at opening time, told they needed the table back in 1.30h, said no problem... A starter of humans took 30mins to arrive, tiny bowl and one pita bread for £5. Had lobster for main, again took ages, asked for mayonnaise which never turned up. Had to go to the bar 3 times to get my own drinks. Over priced and under serviced. Refused paying the "discretionary" 12.5% service fee. Bill still near £70 not good value or service. I'll never go back.

Nestled just steps away from the stunning Poole Bay and Bournemouth Pier, WestBeach is a delightful beachfront restaurant that invites you to indulge in a culinary experience like no other. With its bright and airy atmosphere, this family-owned gem specializes in fresh local seafood and succulent steaks, making it a must-visit for food lovers. The menu boasts an array of mouthwatering dishes such as seared Scottish scallops, crab croquettes, rock oysters, and baked cod fillet.
Lovely breakfast experience, the food was amazing and the service was lovely. You get an amazing view of the ocean and you are close to the beach vibe. The florentine poached eggs were amazing but our fav were the poached eggs with avocado. Everything was perfectly cooked and so tasty. Great coffee as well and great staff. We came back the next day as we enjoyed so much the food

WestBeach offers a truly fabulous dining experience! While their vegan options are a bit limited, the aubergine dish I tried was absolutely delicious easily the best I’ve had there. The service was professional, friendly, and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. Plus, the beautiful seaside atmosphere with stunning views creates the perfect setting for a relaxed and memorable meal. I’d love to see more vegan dishes added to the menu in the future, but overall, a fantastic spot that I highly recommend!

Firstly, the food was really delicious, secondly it was quick, and most importantly, we came with four little kids who were sandy, restless and noisy, yet everyone was very friendly and calm about it — thank you for that! They serve fresh fish and freshly squeezed juices. The toilets were a bit dirty, but overall everything was great.

Fresh, delicious seafood right by the beach. Prices are a bit high for Bournemouth, but worth it for the quality. Great service from Kamil – attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. Highly recommend.

We went in for just a drink and ended up staying for dinner. Thai is the second time myself and my colleague have been to this place while in the area for work. Right on the front so you can see the sea and the pier, while watching the world go by. The food is so good always hot, cooked perfectly and served perfectly, the staff are always helpful and chatty. Will definitely be going in there again, highly recommended.

This place used to be good about 10 years ago, went there again to try it as we stopped going after it went downhill. Well, it just continues to drop in quality and service. They have maybe one staff member to serve us and the food was beyond bad, especially for the price. My bacon was barely cooked to the point it just made me heave. Takes ages for the server to come take your order and to take the bill or come to you if you need another drink. Won’t come again.

We had oysters -really good and calmares -chewy and tasteless so its difficult to judge overall. Atmoshere and staff nice, on the beach
G — Google review
Great spot but the food was a bit of a cheat. Got the seafood salad. Absolutely dreadful. So small it was served in the middle of a clam shell. Not so much salad with tortilla but tortilla with a spoon of salad. Like all dishes it was swimming with oil. Straight out of a packet. I don't understand how so many good restaurants go bust but they can charge £14 for this nonsense. The £16 Tuna Capaccio also tiny. No wonder there was no table check. The waiter was probably embarrassed. The sides were generous. Other half enjoyed his trout so added a * but this was also greasy. Excellent spot on the beach. It overlooks a party bar with good vibes but still get sea view

The Baker's Arms is a traditional country pub in Poole, serving hearty roasts, cask ales and lagers. The menu features slow cooked pork belly, hand carved turkey breast, marinated Lamb rump and sirloin of beef as vegetarian options.
The roast dinner here on a Sunday is outstanding. Big portion, great value for money. The lamb was delicious and all the vegetables were perfect for my tastes. This is a classic country pub atmosphere with friendly staff and a comfortable decor.

Just happened to stop by after a visit to Wareham market....and glad we did. I've not been here for 20 plus years, so it was a pleasant surprise. It certainly has improved greatly to what I remember. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, which was lovely, as was the pub and its surroundings. The beer was lovely, and the scotch egg and fries were simply divine! We will endeavour to make sure we stop by more often!!

Cozy beautiful place, great service and delicious food. We didn't book the table, the place was busy on Saturday, but they still found a table for us. The service was fast the staff very polite and the food was excellent! I ordered sea bass and my partner odered fish amd chips. The fish was cooked perfectly- crispy outside and nice and succulent inside. We definitely recommend this place and if we will be in the area we would go to eat there again.

Who doesn't love a Sunday Roast in a beautiful country pub 😀 The Bakers Arms has had a recent refurbishment and WOW, it's stunning ! We had a Roast and Pie options - food was exceptional, unlimited gravy for roasts 👌 and it was great gravy! Lovely outdoor seating and plenty of it. We had great weather, it was just beautiful. Now this may be controversial - ** I don't advocate drink driving by any stretch ** I wasn't driving my sister was , it was a warm afternoon so she decided on one shandy with her dinner. She asked the barman what was the lowest alcohol options so she could have a shandy , she mentioned she was driving (you have to drive to the location, it's in the middle of nowhere ) The barman refused to serve her ! Which is fine that's his perogative as a responsible seller of alcohol. It was the way he presented himself, almost telling her off for her choice of drink. He didn't offer her any alcohol free options. So she settled on a soft drink, and it wasn't a big deal . It just felt very judgmental. Looking around the car park was packed, and there was plenty of wine on most tables ! My point is don't judge people, we are responsible drivers . If the drink drive policy was ZERO tolerance then I'd expect it ! Just put a sour taste on the experience 😔

Who doesn't enjoy a fantastic Sunday Roast at a cosy pub? The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The pub itself is spacious, yet its thoughtful layout makes you feel like you're in your own little corner, creating a truly special experience. And they also had a soft refurbishment. What really stood out, though, was the warmth, friendliness, and professionalism of the staff. Hats off to the management for clearly making great service a top priority. We had a lovely time enjoying our lunch in the garden, basking in the sun. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Dorset!

What a fantastic pub. The service was incredible, there wasn’t any issue the staff couldn’t accommodate. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The children’s food selection was also really good too. My kids loved the food. The food was great and to a very good standard. I would throughly recommend this pub to everyone.

I came in yesterday with my family and was greeted by Ellie who took us to the table, told us the soup and pie of the day and let us know about the weekend treat menu. Ellie took our drinks order and then our waitress chrissie did a great job taking our food order and looking after us during our visit. The team looked like they all enjoyed working their as it was a busy Friday night. The two young men on the bar were very busy and making cocktails all evening. I thought why not as it’s a Friday night I’d treat myself to a few strawberry daiquiri’s. Food was brilliant so well done to all the team during our visit. Will be returning very soon.

I had an incredible dining experience at Koh Thai. All of the chicken was very chewy as if it had been frozen and reheated and the satay was an odd colour as well as being cold when it arrived, the noodles had a very strange consistency like gluey elastic bands! Really disappointed as Koh Thai used to be one of the best Thai restaurants in the BCP area but I feel it has gone massively downhill, there are alot of better options for Thai food locally.

Sri Lankan restaurant
The Coconut Tree in Bournemouth, located on Christchurch road, offers affordable and delicious Sri Lankan street food. It's a great option for students on a budget, with main meals priced as low as 4. The restaurant is known for its pineapple curry, kotthu, and wings, catering to both meat eaters and vegetarians. Bloggers recommend trying about four dishes each to sample a variety of flavors.
I recently dined at this Sri Lankan restaurant in the heart of Bournemouth, where the vibrant flavours of Sri Lanka’s street food were elevated and presented with a refined, modern touch. The menu is designed for sharing, with smaller portions that encourage sampling a variety of dishes—perfect for two people to enjoy four to five plates for a complete experience. Of the dishes I tried, the Hot Battered Calamari stood out as the highlight. The calamari was tender and encased in a crisp batter, while the caramelised onions added a subtle sweetness that paired beautifully with the seafood’s savoury notes. It was a combination I hadn’t quite encountered before, and the balance of flavours was truly impressive, showing that the restaurant not only respects traditional Sri Lankan cuisine but also adds a creative twist. The pricing was reasonable, especially considering the quality of ingredients and the stylish presentation. The dishes were crafted with care and plated in a way that brought a touch of elegance to the dining experience. Additionally, the service was both swift and warm, with the staff contributing to the pleasant atmosphere with their genuine hospitality. For anyone in Bournemouth looking to explore Sri Lankan cuisine with a contemporary flair, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. It offers a taste of authentic street food culture while inviting diners to share and discover new flavours together.

We came on a Sunday and there's some sort of family deal to be able to try as much food as you want on the menu for a certain price. The food we tried was very good and the staff were helpful to show us tips on how to eat some of the food. They did seem a little understaffed at times when we wanted extra drinks etc. but good experience overall!

We were as a family in the coconut tree. The restaurant offers a tapas concept. Small sized portions of typical food. They are coming sequentially when ready and designated to be shared. We had different meals from the vegan and meat category. Some of them seem a little bit pricy for the portion size e.g the parotta rotti. The service explained the tapas concept very nicely but seems sometimes a little bit uncoordinated as they tried to explain this two times and also we had to request for the bill two times. The restaurant looks very nice and delivers together with the nice music an overall very good ambiente. On the other hand the design is unfortunately not kept for the way to the toilets which feel with its grey design completely different and a little bit sad. The overall concept of the coconut seems on the right track with some possible points to improve. The meals will definitively be great if you enjoy very hot food for all others the two chilly icon on the menu here really is very hot.

The food was amazing! Excellent explanation of each dish and fabulous recommendations on what to get (definitely get the prawns and the mango curry!). The service was good, Alfie took great care of us! However, it would have been great if all the dishes could come out at the same time/closer together but aside from that we had a great time!

Another fantastic meal. We love the fact we can nip here, mid-week, and have fabulous food with such friendly, attentive service. We both had the Scallop starter of the specials board - the 4th time I've had scallops here, and the 3rd different way they've been accompanied. All delicious in their own right, tonight's was more traditional with bacon and pea puree. Yum - Plates were scraped clean! My husband had the Hake special next, which was a lovely balanced dish, and such a perfectly cooked sizable piece of hake, not dry at all, and deservedly, the star on the plate. The veloute and the veg that came with this dish were delicious, too. I had a second starter for my main; the special's chicken satay with an oriental salad. The (very obviously) freshly made satay sauce was superb and not shy of that spicy kiss that makes your lips tingle slightly. I ate every scrap! Really delicious food tonight, and once again, left us knowing we'd return. Thanks, Team Oriel ☆☆☆☆☆

It was my first time in Bournemouth and I'd ended up very sun kissed and wanted to avoid getting fish and chips at the seaside. I didn't find it easy to stumble upon a place in the town centre, but my friend looked on Google Maps and our tired legs brought us here and what a treat. Everything was great - I'm just a tough cookie to give a 5!

Had dinner at the Cosy Club in Bournemouth with my girlfriend (and our small dog, which was a big plus — they’re pet friendly!). First impressions were great: the place has a really stylish vibe with funky decor and a lively but relaxed atmosphere. Definitely one of those spots where you notice the little touches. The staff were attentive without being over the top, which kept everything easygoing. I went for the cod and chips, and it was a nice twist on the classic — instead of a heavy batter, it came in a lighter breadcrumb-style coating on a big, chunky fillet. Tasted fresh and worked really well. All in all, it was a charming and relaxed experience. A good mix of great food, friendly service, and a fun setting — exactly the kind of place you want for a laid-back evening out.

We had our wedding reception on the private third floor of the Cosy Club in Bournemouth. Everyone commented how lovely the atmosphere was and how amazing the food was. The service was good as they were looking after 20 of us. We had the top floor booked between 12-5 and arrived about 1pm. We had our own private bar and toilets and the undercover deck area which is lovely. They have vegetarian and vegan options as well as options for those who have food allergies. We highly recommend the Cosy Club for private hire events. Please note photography is by Emma Rolfe.

Just had a lovely meal here with a group, and overall, it was really enjoyable! The Malvani Chicken Curry was spot on—great taste and quality. The service was excellent and the atmosphere made it even better. My only slight letdown was the 6oz Flat Iron Steak—it could've used a bigger portion and value for money didn't quite hit the mark. The drinks, especially the Amaretto Sour, were fantastic, so I'd definitely come back for that!

Rockfish Poole Seafood Restaurant is a delightful coastal treasure that showcases the best of locally-sourced seafood. Nestled along the picturesque Quay in the historic Poole Pottery building, this award-winning eatery boasts an inviting atmosphere with its impressive vaulted ceilings and open kitchen, where diners can watch their meals being prepared fresh from the sea. The menu is ever-changing, reflecting the daily catch brought in by their own boat, The Rockfisher.
Not a seafood person but this was an absolute gem of a place right on the quayside. Leaned heavily on the recommendation of hake after a patient explainer of what was fresh, from where and how it was cooked and served. It was all delicious, the chips were unlimited and the coleslaw was a gem hidden on the right of the menu. “Shipping forecast” was a nice touch. Superb.

Set along the harbourside in Poole, Rockfish delivers on brand values & the ethos of serving fresh day boat caught fish from Brixham! Staff are scripted to explain the types of fish & seafood available, & how each dish is served, but they could improve on being more attentive. The restaurant has nice inside seating, & a few outdoor tables, great if the sun is shinning! We opted for the whole seabass, which is served off the grill, along with 2 sides; a nicely dressed salad & unlimited fries! The 'meaty' Seabass was flavoursome, & cooked well, if anything I felt ever so slightly over. It was sat in a delicious garlicky butter, & for me, this could have been swimming in it, it was so good! It was a great 'social' dish & was perfect with the chips! however, we did order extra, 'unlimited' was offered; but sadly they took ages to arrive (a fryer issue!?) and we ended up eating them after we finished the fish! The wine list was good, & without starters, a shared main & no desert, the bill came to just over £100, which wasn't bad for the size & quality of the Bass! Overall a good place if you appreciate fish, but I feel service could have been better & the delay's was a bit disappointing.

Rockfish restaurant is an exceptional dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious, truly a treat for the taste buds. The staff was very friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. Special thanks to server Anette, who went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed the last 6 oysters available — her kindness and extra effort made our evening even more special. Despite arriving late in the evening, we were pleased to find that we could still get a table, which speaks to their accommodating nature. Highly recommend this place for a memorable dinner!

As bodybuilders we find it hard to eat out, especially when one of us is on prep. However, having looked at the menu, we thought we could make eating here work and we were not disappointed. Having booked a table for Saturday lunch, we arrived early and were still seated straight away. The host and our waitress didn’t mind at all that my partner had bought his scales so he could weigh his food when it arrived at the table. Our waitress Charlotte was also really helpful in suggesting which catches a fish. My partner could have that would not be battered and she understood the need for no butter on the potatoes and the salad with no dressing. As for me, I was able to make great high protein choices (cockles to start) as well as opting for something a little more off plan with the Prawn tacos; these were perfectly cooked and full of flavour. We couldn’t have been happier with the quality of the food or the service we recieved; definitely one of the best dining experiences we have had in recent months. We both agreed that we would go back when we could enjoy the bottomless chips which we passed on, on this occasion

Great food, great quality, great friendly happy staff, fantastic ambiance and atmosphere. What more could you ask for ?? Thank you for another great night out. I now rate you above another well known brand that has a restaurant down on Sandbanks. We’ll be back. 😁👍

You have to wait a long time for your food here which is a major disappointment and something many ither reviewers have noted. Some of the other low reviews here point to many of the issues a chain restaurant suffers from - constantly changing serving staff and chefs. With all that said, the head server and Toni-Jay were amazing with us on our two visits. While I have seen some reviews point to the quality of food, as a seasoned reviewer I thought it was to a very good standard overall. The fish was daily and very fresh. The different starters, like the vegetable tempura, were done very well, with decent quality olives for example, and bread. The sides like beans and slaw with great, as well as rhe compound butters. I also thought their lager was tasty. The decor is very pleasing in here and the fake shipping forecast audible in the rest rooms was amusing. The owners of the chain have to get to grips with the food-speed issue and I was surprised to find it was a chain after our first visit. However, the wait for quality food was worth it overall. Many people will not come back locally if these issues persist on slow-speed of food, and on both occasions the wait for food was 40 minutes per course. Because there is a high-turnover of tourists in the summer, though, I suspect it will be able to manage this situation. This is a must-book place I would say if you are going to eat here in tourist season as it was very busy.

Such a lovely place to sit with friendly service and a great range of food. I would recommend the oysters to begin with. They come with a great dressing and sauce which makes them even better! I would recommend booking in advance it’s difficult to get a table especially at the weekend.

I do wish we lived closer to Rockfish restaurants - they never fail to impress. This is our fourth visit and it was the main reason for the trip to Poole (although our dogs were exhausted from the beach just prior). The welcome was enthusiastic and warm for not just us humans but especially for our two dogs - they were really made a fuss of with free sprats given. Food here is always outstanding. I love that the waitress describes each special fish that’s available. The mussels were large and so delicious, so too the calamari, but the real highlight for me was the Megrim Sole - it was huge and cooked to perfection. The rest of us enjoyed the John Dory & Ray Wings. Great service, outstanding food, reasonable value & best of all - very dog friendly. What’s not to love.

Italian Diva is a restaurant and bar in Poole, known for its classic Italian dishes served in an intimate and elegant atmosphere. The establishment has garnered praise for offering a unique take on Italian cuisine, with an imaginative menu that includes well-cooked and well-presented dishes. Chef patron Marcello Calipa leads the kitchen, using fresh local ingredients to create a culinary journey through the flavors of Italy. Guests have commended the restaurant's exquisite decor, fantastic atmosphere, and professional service.
To eat pasta with oxtail like this one you have 2 options. The first is to get on a plane and go to Rome, the second is to come here to Chef Marcello! The best Italian restaurant in Dorset. Selected ingredients, perfect cooking, flavors of true tradition. Spectacular!!!!

A cozy restaurant with friendly and welcoming staff. We ordered Scallops, Abbacchio Alla Romana( lamb) and Sirloin steak. Everything was delicious except the beef steak was too tough. We will definitely go back there.

Five stars aren’t enough! Diva is an absolute gem in Poole. If you’re looking for authentic Italian food, this is the place to go. I had the carbonara and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever tasted — creamy, rich, and full of flavour, just like in Rome. The staff are warm, welcoming, and make you feel like part of the family. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, perfect for both date nights and family dinners. Can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu. Highly recommend!

I went there yesterday with my boyfriend for a dinner. First impression- beautiful elegant decor. Darker light in the evening with plenty of small lights over the windows create very cosy and romantic atmosphere perfect for your date night. Lady who served us was very nice and service was fantastic. Food is outstanding. Considering I love Italian kitchen, this place has become my favourite one now. I got prawns for a starter and my boyfriend got goats cheese. Both super delicious and full of flavour. Our mains were also cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed my sea bass! Food was served very quickly and portions were quite big. Well worth the money. I was absolutely impressed! They do really have a 1st class chef! Food is absolutely amazing. I really like the fact that they do not serve pizza. It may be frustrating for some but as stated on the website it is not a pizzeria but real Italian kitchen. I had fantastic evening there yesterday and will be definitely coming back for more.

You pay for what you get and this is worth every pence. Steak is amazing and the Carbonara is correct (depending on what part of Italy you’re used to). If you want to impress someone you care about, this place is it.

Excellent. So glad we gave this restaurant a go. We only went off of the reviews we had read. Well our meal was excellent start to finish! We had the cheaper Italian Merlot, which was very tasty, would order again for sure. We had bread with dip, very nice! Prawns to start were excellent. Then we had Wild Bore Ravioli, Chicken with white wine and cream and the Sea Bass. All excellent and served piping hot. Service fantastic too. Good front of house. I’ll be headed back, 100%! I suggest you support the local businesses and go to this Italian for your dinner!

Just popped in with my sister, she had something to eat, I just had a beer. First time i have been in this pub and got to say I'm impressed. The staff are polite and friendly. The premises are spotlessly clean, and the food excellent. The menu has a wonderful choice of various meals. I will definitely be back with friends and family. Obviously good management lovely to see compared to some pubs in Poole. Highly recommend 👌

I booked the afternoon tea for two and was blown away by the whole experience. The range of food we received was far more generous than expected. The sandwiches were fresh and flavourful – the focaccia one in particular was a standout. We were then treated to a beautifully presented selection of sweet treats, including warm scones with clotted cream and jam, Eton Mess, indulgent brownie bites and a salted caramel cheesecake bite that was absolutely divine. 🤤 What made the experience even better was being able to pair it all with a cocktail of our choice. I went for the Purple Disco Machine and would highly recommend it – fun, vibrant and delicious! A special mention must go to the wonderful staff, Rosie, Marcus and Tom, who were so warm and attentive throughout. They couldn’t do enough for us and really ensured we had a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon. Overall, a fantastic experience – I’d highly recommend this afternoon tea and can’t wait to return!

Located in the heart of Bournemouth's bustling town center, The Bournemouth Stable is a cozy and unassuming restaurant that holds the distinction of being the country's smallest Michelin-starred establishment. Run by passionate owners Russell and Elena Brown, this charming eatery takes great pride in sourcing top-quality ingredients from reputable suppliers. From fresh fish and shellfish to premium coffee and farm-assured meats, every dish is crafted with care.
What a superb place! A large range of really excellent ciders, and first rate freshly cooked pizza! Thin crusts, creative topping options, quality ingredients. What with the excellent food and drink and the enthusiastic and charming staff this is now I think my favourite place to go out in Bournemouth!

Had a great time, ordered from the drink and food from the table which arrived promptly. Both pizzas 🍕 were very nice with good flavour combinations. Only negative seats a little uncomfortable.

Me and my partner love the Stable in Bournemouth. We come here easily once a month if not twice😂🫣 The service is always impeccable and the food is amazing. We go for the nachos which have never disappointed since our first date. Even after our awful experience at the Stable in Winchester, we know we are safe in the hands of the staff and chefs here in Bournemouth.

Great food but even better service. Staff were so kind and made every effort to accommodate all of us on such short notice. Goats cheese pizza is a must!

Amazing fresh baked pizza to order. Along with their pre chosen cider flight. (It would have been nice to choose your own cider. Even if it was at a premium) Friendly staff and very accommodating with my partner's dietary needs
Connor — Google review
The food at this restaurant is really not bad but ordering via a qr code and paying per order - so I got three receipts - gave me visions of a dystopian society where people are afraid to communicate with each other. And then they also have the audacity to ask for a tip with every order. For what? There is no service other than bringing your order to the table. This is a reason for me not to visit this restaurant again. Which is a shame because they have a good selection of ciders.
J Z — Google review
Great visit as always! We’ve been coming here for years - the pizza and cider are delicious. (We do miss the sofa by the window! ;) ) A special shout out to Shammi - thank you so much for finding a candle for a very last minute inspired Birthday desert, really appreciated that! Service from everyone top notch as always. See you soon xx

One of the best pizzas I had in Bournemouth was definitely here. They make decent sourdough pizzas, and I loved their Hawaiian one. You should definitely try their classic cocktails as well. Service staff was extremely polite and fast. It is a very stylish place and deserves all the hype it gets.

Lovely pint of Tangle Foot in nice surroundings. Great staff, nice clientele, although I didn't eat there it was nicely busy with people doing so and the food looked great .. and as a couple of bonuses for me as someone just calling in for a drink, there were seats available and the pub didn't smell of food (something I dislike) All good!
Jason H — Google review
Such a lovely, unique pub. Very traditional, a place you would only experience in Poole. It was busy when I went in but we managed to get seats at the bar and were served soon enough. I didn't eat there but I will in future as the food looked lovely and I heard others talking about how lovely their meals were. A really special place.
Yasmin M — Google review
We visited on a Sunday in June 2023, having popped in around 6 months earlier for a pint just before they closed. This time we were there for opening and after checking the menu decided to try the Sunday Roast. We weren't disappointed as the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was out of this world. Both the Pork and Beef options came with all the trimmings you'd expect and the veg was especially delicious. Really good portion sizes too. It did get quite busy whilst we were eating, so booking ahead is probably advisable if you want to guarantee a table. But whether you're there for food or just a drink, you won't find a friendlier pub on Poole Quay.

Just about as good as fish and chips gets on Poole quay. Washed down with a pint of cruz campo. What else do you need.

Fantastic pub....beautifully decorated in nautical theme. Had several of their seafood dishes and they were very fresh and tasty. Plenty of space inside, so ideal for families. Highly recommend

Just a lovely roast dinner. The homemade cauliflower cheese was the best I’ve tasted for some time and it was lovely to have roast potatoes that were roasted and not deep fried! Pub staff all friendly and make you feel welcomed. I would highly recommend this place for food or just out for a drink.

2025 ane back in for bike night. New owners. Had a walk in by myself to sample the fish and chips without the seagulls swooping down, stealing. Deep sea divers old masks, boats, ships in glass tanks, not forgetting the barrels as tables. You can't get more ship orientated without being at sea. So, place was full in these times, one lonely table for a biker and his jacket. Back for bike night, 2024

Nusara Thai is a delightful destination for those seeking to host memorable events, offering both full and partial venue hire across its locations. If you book early, before the end of September, you can take advantage of their exclusive offer that includes complimentary venue hire and a welcome drink for each guest. Their customizable packages cater to your specific needs, ensuring your event reflects your vision perfectly. For gatherings, their buffet options start at an affordable price per person, with banquet packages also available.
Nusara stands out as a posh haven of Thai cuisine in the area, offering a more refined take than the other Thai restaurants in Poole. The attention to detail is evident across the menu, elevating classic dishes to something a bit more polished without sacrificing authenticity. We sampled the Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Crispy Beef, and each dish delivered on both flavour and presentation. The Pad Thai came with just the right balance of tang and sweetness, the noodles perfectly cooked with a delightful bite. The Green Curry was rich and aromatic, its coconut base carrying a deep warmth that didn’t overwhelm the delicate spices. The Crispy Beef, with its subtle crunch, was a standout, adding a satisfying texture to the meal. While it’s a bit pricier than some of the more casual options nearby, Nusara justifies it with quality ingredients and well-executed dishes. For a more elevated Thai dining experience, it’s a solid choice.
Firat C — Google review
Had dinner here in December and the food is of good quality. The curry options were the best in terms of flavour and authenticity. The pad Thai was good but not outstanding. The service is good with friendly staff but the wait time was quite long despite the restaurant not being that busy. The place is beautiful in terms of decoration.

Was a really great experience! We went there as a group of work colleagues. They offer starters, mains and dessert and it's a real eye catch. The taste is really awesome!! I had the prawns as a starter and lamb shank as main and it was absolutely delicious. 🤤 Big bonus as well that the whole menu is glutenfree unless a dish has a "g" attached. I'm coeliac and have been okay afterwards, however always recommended to check with them in person, so they can advise you on the dishes. Staff has been very friendly and helpful in explanations. Toilet is in a good condition as well, so overall 5/5 experience, would always go again here!

Me and my daughter came in for 3 courses and some drinks. She’s quite fussy so I was unsure weather she would eat anything on the menus however there was still such a wide variety of things she would eat. She absolutely loved it and wants to come back asap!! The cocktails were absolutely gorgeous and my daughter even had a mocktail. Morgan was absolutely brilliant and patient while my daughter chose her food and even gave her a recommendation which is what she ended up going for so Thankyou Morgan 5⭐️ for you.

We've had two meals here very recently - went back the second time as the first was so good. Brilliant that they accept a Blue Light card, too as makes it affordable to visit more frequently. We were a party of 5, which included our foodie 12yr old. Great food on both occasions. The steak was cooked to perfection and so good I had it twice! Attentive staff, too. We eaten in and like the Thai restaurants in Broadstone and Lilliput too, but Nusara is our Thai of choice now locally, on service, food and use of Blue Light.
Julie T — Google review
Well what a incredible choice for Thai food. My attempts to book the other 2 close by Thais failed but saying that it was to our great advantage. Because the other 2 were not able to accommodate 6 people it fell to Nusara to come to the rescue. The service and staff were attentive and accomodating and enable us to sit out side as well. So first Gold Star Then the food....starters I could have had everyone... plentiful in portion and tasted great,I could have easily had 4/6 starters as a main! Then the choice of mains from Wok to curry to noodle dishes....divine and again the tastes were heavenly. Will definitely come again, the background music was hok but the guy could have been a little more attentive to his tunes,a little like one similar tune in a meet go round😂 however it was great to have playing in the background. The portions were great, sticky rice just so,not to hot or spicey. And one last thing for 6 of us including drinks £32 a person..great value 😍 Loveeeeeeeeeed it. Thankyou to all the staff and Chefs💖🎉💖

We dined here at 5pm last Sunday evening with our disabled foster child. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating for his wheelchair considering the layout. The chef is from Sardinia. Ambience was very relaxing - our foster child was calmer than usual. My wife said her coffee was very nice. My gluten free pizza was the best I've ever eaten. I just wish they also did sourdough pizza which my stomache also tolerates. Will definitely be back.

We were really impressed by this hotel. Staff were lovely, room was spacious, clean and tidy. The facilities especially the pool were all great. Food was really good quality and good value in the restaurant. The happy hour from 4pm until 7pm was super value in the bar. If there was one thing that I'd have like to have had it was a small fridge in the room but that's not a negative in any way just a personal preference

Location is perfect distance to the beach and restaurants, 10 minutes walk to both. The walk back from the beach is very uphill. Parking at the hotel is £15pn but literally outside the hotel on every side is free street parking (hotel fails to tell you this). The staff are amazing, super friendly. Superior double room was a good size, however the toilet smelt of constant urine. Overall staying in the room wasn't very pleasant (specially being pregnant) because of the smell and it was still there after it was cleaned. Breakfast is average nothing great, first morning breakfast was pretty cold. Spa is ok too, what you'd expect for a 3 star. Would we go back to the hotel? Maybe if we it was cleaned properly yes otherwise no.

A couple weeks ago myself and three members of my family booked and went to the spa. Staff were really friendly and kind. Facilities were okay. A bit cramped at times especially the ladies changing room, lots of waiting for changing rooms/bath rooms as well as to shower. Staff at the spa were very friendly. We had lunch there, I had the fish and chips and it was lovely, large portions and good quality food and service. The lady at the bar was absolutely lovely, before our spa session she arranged for our food to be prepared earlier as we needed to leave early.

Staff at the hotel are wonderful We stayed in a deluxe room with king size bed , good size room with air conditioning with breakfast included. The breakfast was buffet style and could have been better. The restaurant food in our opinion was expensive for what you had and menu limited for a 7 night stay. The spa facilities were excellent. Good selection of bars, restaurants and shops (much better than Bournemouth ) in Westbourne , less than 5 minutes away on the local bus , the bus stop is 5 minutes from the hotel.

Big shout out to Brett in the spa he was amazing, made sure we knew where everything was and what time our treatment was. Seaview Restaurant is a luxurious and atmospheric restaurant situated on a picturesque terrace with fantastic views of Sandbanks. The staff is attentive and kind, the food is delicious and served quickly, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a relaxing meal.
Discovered this place through a deal and can say that it is such a gem! Exceptional views of Bournemouth and Old Harry Rocks! Staff in the restaurant were kind and attentive, food was delicious and served quickly! Could not have asked for better service and views!

Service slow and food wasn’t great, pork loin was tough and couldn’t eat it, the mash potatoes tasted suspiciously from a freeze dried packet and everything on the plate was very garlicky. Over priced and wouldn’t recommend, sadly.
Gina B — Google review
Located inside the Sandbanks Hotel behind main reception, the restaurant service left a lot to be desired having tried the 2 course evening menu for two. The soup was barely warm and there was a mismatch between main course order and what was delivered: does chicken look like fish? Same colour perhaps. The food was delivered and no-one came back quicklg enough or in good time to check each course was alright. After an extended wait for the bill, ended up paying at restaurant reception. The service could be so easily fixed if those with "Crew" on their shirts were properly trained, as the issues could have been resolved at the table more efficiently, or if there was an obvious Maître d'hôtel. Note, a 10% optional service charge is automatically added to bill. Despite the cold starter and wrong order, the food tasted ok; at £25-30 per head, I'd probably only use as a last resort next time or opt for a quick pizza lunch instead of evening meal.

If I could give 0 stars i would... absolutely disgusting quality of food... prawns in buffet full of eggs and feaces completely unwashed .. salmon slimey and the hams all smelt sweaty.... the food looked as if it had been sat out at least an hour but we were apparently the first group in at 7... my partner has so far spent half hour on the toilet since returning home 2 hours ago to be told by the manager it was nothing to do with them an they will not offer any sort of compensation without poo samples from the dr... looks like this is something they deal with regularly judging by his response so be careful... you have been warned... xx

Not recommended. Pre heated food and cheap quality food with expensive price. If you are not staying at the hotel, don't go there.

Very busy with tourists and locals alike. Good selection of food & drinks.

Absolutely lovely place to eat, the food is always amazing and presented beautifully. This evening I took my parents for a treat and we enjoyed the seabass and the Hake special - both were delicious. For dessert we had the sticky toffee and rum pudding as well as the homemade brownie and neither disappointed!

We live a few miles from this establishment and are always looking for a really good local place to eat frequently. The staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was really nice. We had our starters and they were tasty and well presented. We thought we had found our "Food Nirvana" However the main courses arrived and we were left wanting 😩 The filet steak decidedly average. The chips were cold/luke warm. The Macaroni cheese side, dry and tasteless. 😩 I didn't partake in dessert but my wife had the "trio of desserts" They were very nicely presented and very tasty too 😁👍After dinner coffee's were also good. I wouldn't say no to a second visit but I doubt we have found our culinary promised land.

Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely vibe. We came for the Valentines 3 Course Menu and the value for money was really good I’d say. Originally we had a lovely attentive member of staff with long blonde hair (I think she was called Jess) and can’t fault her. The only let down was later in the evening, there was another waitress who was loudly telling everyone around us her life story and showing pics on her phone. There were people waiting to order on other tables whilst she was telling long stories and even saying to other tables “hang on whilst I finish my story on this other table”. When our payment was ready to be taken she told my partner to add things up on his phone because she wasn’t sure on the prices on the bill which is fair enough but I felt could’ve been handled better. Soured the experience ever so slightly but good visit overall.

Lovely meal for my daughter's birthday. Served by Amy who was excellent - very friendly and professional (I would expect no less from a Canadian). I had the lamb shank and it was fantastic. Cooked to perfection and nicely presented. All of our meals were lovely so, all in all, a great evening and would highly recommend. Many thanks.

Came to visit with a friend who lives local and I wouldn't hesitate to travel over an hour to visit again. Food was delicious and the prices are very reasonable. Best roast i've had in a long time. Recommend the sharing roast. Thank you for having us!

Had Sunday lunch @the Cliff even though we were a little late for our reservation, and they were very busy, we were taken to our table, and the young lady asked if we had any allergies. Our waitress was Amy lwho looked after us, taking our drinks and food order with a smile. We ordered the Slow cooked Pork belly which was delicious, only criticism would be the roast potatoes were soft and not crispy, but probably not the best season for good roasties.

A variety of different cuisines in a lovely location (moments from the beach). Had a tasty meal with my family, and our server Cat made sure we had an excellent time with every want attended too. Thank you, Cat for a wonderful and entertaining evening!

The lakeside fish & chips restaurant Lakeside Fish & Chips in Poole offers delicious food and friendly staff. The restaurant has tall windows and sweeping lake views, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. The dishes on offer include fish 'n' chips, as well as grill dishes. All of the food is fresh and well-made, and the portions are generous.
I had read some reviews before going so wasn't really sure if I was going to be slightly disappointed. I had the lakeside all day deal of haddock and chips, one side( I went for mushy peas) a drink ( I had 1/2 cider) and a choice of tea or coffee. This was £17.95. The service was excellent! lovely staff. The batter on the fish was the best I have had years. My husband had ray wings which were cooked perfectly. Looking at the photos the portion might seem small but the plates are very large.

A fish and chips shop in Poole with a great waterfront atmosphere. There’s a wide variety of menu options including fried fish, grilled fish, and other seafood dishes. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, with decent service. Many dishes are fragrant and delicious, and the fried fish is perfectly cooked. The chips are also tasty.

I had a great time yesterday. The food was delicious, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommend
Nibal A — Google review
Tucked beside the tranquil waters of Upton Lake, Lakeside offers far more than your average fish & chips shop. While seafood is clearly its strong suit, the menu branches out confidently into steaks, burgers, and a variety of family-friendly classics — all served in a bright, inviting setting. The interior is fresh and airy, with splashes of colour from the seating that give the space a cheerful, modern feel. Large windows bring in plenty of natural light, and if you’re lucky enough to get a lakeside table, the view alone is worth the visit. For those in a hurry, the takeaway counter runs smoothly and efficiently — a real bonus on busy days. We dined in and ordered the Calamari, Crayfish & Prawn Cocktail, Sea Bass Fillets, and the classic Haddock & Chips. Everything arrived promptly and piping hot. The seabass was beautifully cooked — delicate, flaky, and full of flavour — while the haddock had that golden, crisp batter you always hope for but don’t often get. A masterclass in doing the basics exceptionally well. We finished with two cheesecakes: the Pistachio and the San Sebastian. Both were standout desserts — the pistachio one subtly nutty and smooth, and the San Sebastian rich, creamy, and perfectly caramelised on top. A delightful way to end the meal. Service was fantastic throughout — welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or planning a more leisurely meal with a view, Lakeside delivers quality with a smile. A real gem on the water.

Perfect place to eat in or take away. Food was nice and staff were fast also all freshly cooked. Thx

As someone who is from Hamburg Germany and is not that big a fan of fish, this place surprised me. The fish was hands down the best fish I've had in any restaurant, the chips are fresh made and of good quality but a little bit bland, the ambiance is quite lovely, being able to look out to the water and all, the service is great. The only warning I have to put out here is that the food is served HOT. Don't be an idiot like me and burn your mouth to the point of blisters.
Fenrir10 — Google review
If I'm completely honest I found the food a little overpriced, the take away part for me is better but the service was good and our waitress very helpful. The atmosphere is nice, quiet with a lovely view overlooking the quay.

Ate here at lunchtime and had the seafood platter. Fish (Cod) and Whitebait was delicious as were the shellfish. The chips some of the best I've eaten in a long time. Great to have individual portions of Sauce Tartar, Marie Rose and Mayonnaise that weren't in a plastic packet. The service was quick and efficient and the servers polite and professional. The clientele were mostly OAP's so nice quite atmosphere. Views over Poole Harbour were magnificent.

Walked here from the nearby caravan park. Nice place to stop for a meal and drinks. We was lucky enough to have an offer of a bottle of free wine with our meal. The wine and food was excellent. The service was was very professional and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening

We booked a table for a meal on Valentine's day. On arrival we were greeted promptly and as it was very quiet (only a handful of diners) we could choose the table. We received very good service from our waiter. Food arrived within 15 min of ordering. Like with any food it's down to personal preference and taste so here's our opinion on our dishes... My partner had a beef shin which he didn't actually enjoy much. The meat was tender, he just didn't like the sauce. We both agreed it reminded us of the tinned meat meals we took camping when we were younger. The veg is described as "maple roast carrots and roast mushrooms" but they tasted and looked like they were steamed or boiled. I had a duck, which was really, tender, moist and tasty. I didn't use the gravy served as I didn't like it (a bit bland for my liking). The dish was moist enough so I didn't miss it. I would prefer the duck to have crispy skin but I understand it's a bit of a challenge when slow cooking it. Both our desserts, sticky toffee and apple pie were exceptional.

Small country pub, in a lovely village setting. Booked a table online, service was quick and efficient on a Sunday early evening. Roast dinner has plenty of beef but the vegetables looked like they had been left under a heat lamp for an hour. Also gravy looked like it wasn’t meant for a beef dish. Ended meal with nice dessert. Good local Badger beer served.

Great find , beautiful location . Stunning outside seating. Beautifully decorated inside - great country pub. Food was great and quick service. We ordered lunch , I would recommend the fish finger sandwich 👌 comes with a side of chips.

Easily one of the best meals we’ve had! We ate the minute steak and beef cheeks which were both incredible and the camembert starter was also delicious. We wanted to order it again immediately after we’d finished😅 Friendly and welcoming staff too!

Plenty of space and parking. Food was spot on. We had fish and chips, garlic bread, mac n cheese. All the food was quality. I'd come back just for the food. Not sure if the fish was fresh, but was crumbly, smelt like fish, but not salty.

First time trying Miller and Carter and what a brilliant experience it was. Food was delicious and the presentation exceptional- cooked by chef Josh, and the service was 10/10. Vicki our server was extremely attentive and helpful, taking her time to guide us through the menu, as it was our first visit. Her attitude was so positive, with a friendly smile and approach, definitely an asset to the Miller and Carter team. Will absolutely be coming back again.

Came here for Lunch with my wife for our 20th Anniversary and was served by Chloe. 5 Star service and the food grilled by Kenny was amazing. Was asked if we were there for a special occasion and told Chloe it was our anniversary and when we got our desert it was presented with an awesome surprise message. Awesome food as always and awesome service. Thank you to all for making this visit such a memorable one.

Amazing food and service. The presentation of the food was lovely. We had a grilled Camembert as a starter and burger and steak as a main. It is a big restaurant and the place was busy but our food arrived fairly quickly. Highly recommend it.
