Breakfast restaurant
Nestled on the picturesque Avon Beach, The Noisy Lobster is a delightful haven for seafood enthusiasts and casual diners alike. This family-run gem offers a relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of Mudeford Bay and the Isle of Wight, featuring both indoor seating and a dog-friendly terrace that invites you to soak in the coastal charm. With an emphasis on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, much of their menu showcases fresh catches from nearby fishermen in Mudeford and Lymington.
Very friendly, efficient and professional staff. Views were amazing! All entrees, mains and desserts were beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and delicious. Flavours were matched perfectly and their wine choice was spot on. They were very happy to cater for dietary requirements which was very much appreciated. You will not be disappointed with any of the dishes you choose. We would not hesitate to go back!

The food was very good and beautifully presented. The location of the restaurant is also excellent, with lovely views of the sea. We arrived around 5pm and asked to sit upstairs, but unfortunately we were told that section wasn’t open due to limited bookings. However, we did notice that there were still some guests seated on the upstairs balcony at that time. We ended up sitting outside downstairs, where you can still enjoy the sea view. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, though it would have been nicer to sit upstairs.
Sami M — Google review
Delicious food. Quite expensive but that said there are burgers and fish and chips for £20 odd which looking at location and quality of food is worth it. If you want something else a little more special then price goes up and wine costs all add up! But beautiful food lovely location and worth the money!
Shaun H — Google review
Really good food, there was a musician on in the front of the restaurant that we couldn't quite hear, but it was good in the background. Food was amazing, the only thing that let it down was the prawn cocktail that was a bit bland. But the Monkfish more than made up for it on flavour!
Lynn W — Google review
Great location, lovely looking restaurant. Staff were great. Had monkfish 1st visit which was amazing a bit pricey but your paying for the view aswell i think. Had the dressed crab the next day and which looked great, but i was really disappointed with it. It was dry and bland and quite a small crab, looked like most of the white meat was used elsewhere. This was well overpriced at over £30, I have had loads better off a local fish van for £8. This has put me off going back and will be trying other restaurants around the area.
Jacko D — Google review
We came here after a few friends had recommended it. A very good choice indeed. Our party of 5 included or 10 year old, my wife and her parents, so a wee age range. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was absolutely superb. From the lobster, to the crab, to the steak that I had (I'm not a fan of seafood). All of it was cooked to perfection and served well presented. The staff were great, attentive and friendly without being overbearing. It was lovely watching their interactions with some customers who were clearly regular. The restaurant was clean, well laid out and the atmosphere felt right, which is a fairly subjective thing. There was some live music in the bar area, fortunately it wasn't too loud in the restaurant space as sleepless or can be quite distracting having to talk over someone trying to entertain you?
Carl B — Google review
Visited for lunch, food was absolutely gorgeous. Don't be fooled by the standard battered fish and chips on the menu, best I've ever eaten! Monfish main was beautiful, highly recommend. Octopus and prawn starters were delicious and the foccacia with seaweed butter is 100% worth ordering. Beautiful food with fantastic views.
Katie W — Google review
Fantastic food, stunning location, excellent service. Prices a bit on the high side but justified by the overall quality of the venue. Dog-friendly walk-in terrace on the ground floor no, paying carpark adjacent, gorgeous views of the Isle of Wight and Christchurch Bay on a sunny day.

Spanish restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Bournemouth, Lolas Spanish Tapas Restaurant is a delightful haven for those craving authentic Spanish cuisine. This inviting and warmly-lit venue specializes in sharable tapas plates that are perfect for enjoying with friends or family. The extensive menu features a variety of dishes, from beloved classics like patatas bravas and garlicky prawns to more unique offerings such as ox cheeks and black pudding.
We loved our visit! The staff is wonderful and the food is incredible. It definitely felt like being in Spain. Couldn't recommend just one thing: everything we tried was superb. Croquetas, albóndigas, bravas, cheese, jamón... and the alioli! You MUST try it. Remember to save some space for dessert, though, as they're also delicious. Will definitely visit again the next time we're around.
Salva Z — Google review
Absolutely loved all the dishes we chose. Very good portion sizes and delicious freshly cooked food. Staff were very helpful and accommodating of our coeliac and other specific requirements. Needed to book, even on a Monday evening, although we were lucky as a walk in couple. Highly recommended. Jennifer, Staffordshire

We had an amazing visit to Lola’s Spanish Tapas! The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere felt truly authentic. We were hungry, so we ordered five plates (plus desserts!) and loved every bite. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Bournemouth. Thank you so much! 🙏😁
Elsa — Google review
Can't fault it. Good food. Good atmosphere. Friendly people. Would recommend. Edit: Noooooo it was all going so well but I had to dock a star, to be true to my values, for including gratuity on the bill. I would have tipped anyway, now I'm tipping with a bitter taste.
Dan M — Google review
Such a lovely little gem in Bournemouth. Some of the best tapas I’ve had outside of Spain. The staff really went above and beyond for the birthday in our group and were generally very attentive. Food was hot and fresh and quick. Really would recommend!
Natalie A — Google review
Lola's is a family run and friendly Spanish restaurant specialising in tapas. Comparison with food served in mainland Spain is inevitable, but those comparison and prejudices should be left at the door. Lola's do their tapas dishes in their own style and some will be hit or miss. On our first visit in July 2021 we ordered a mixture of dishes including patas bravas, prawn pil-pil, grilled prawns, jamon croquettes, squid rings, and chocolate fondue which we greatly enjoyed. Highly recommended. Our second visit in June 2022 was just as good as the visit, highlights were the garlic prawns, patatas bravas and extra spicy pil-pil prawns. And the service was once again very friendly. Another visit to Lolas with the family in November 2024 and once again great tapas. The star being the garlic prawns. The most recent visit to Lolas was in July 2025 when my wife and I had sangria, pil-pil prawns, ham croquettes, squid rings, deep fried aubergines with honey, bread with alioli, and patatas bravas. Followed by creme catalan and Almond Tart for dessert. Muy buena.
James D — Google review
We arrived quite late, the kitchen was just closing. Ordered half a dozen tapas, all very fresh and tasty, the croquettes were most delicious as were the meat balls!
Graham T — Google review
We went to Lolas to celebrate our anniversary and it was such a wonderful experience. Magdalena was so friendly and kind. They put heart shaped candles and napkins on the table which was such a lovely touch. The food was also delicious! The music was fun but not too noisy. It was a great experience and would definitely recommend it!

Nestled in the heart of the New Forest, The Oak Inn in Bank near Lyndhurst is a charming country pub that embodies the essence of traditional British hospitality. Owned by a major brewery, this inviting establishment features on-site parking and serves up a delightful menu that combines classic dishes with modern flair, all crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Whether you're stopping by for lunch or dinner, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings.
We had dinner in this country pub which is really nice. It is settled in the heart of the new forest in a very quiet road. The car park has flat pebbles and they look great. The building is beautiful inside with low ceilings, full of character. We were attended politely and the food came quickly. The portions were good and we really enjoyed our dinner.
Marta F — Google review
So happy we stumbled upon this lovely pub in the new forest. One of the better Sunday roasts we've had in a while! We had the new "sharing roast" between 3 of us and we were absolutely stuffed. You get a bit of every meat and all the regular trimmings plus some cauliflower cheese! Not to mention the service was amazing and the servers were just the kindest people 🤩
Craig L — Google review
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Oak. The food was amazing and the service exceptional. Anita, who gave us a warm welcome, looked after us and made sure everything was in order. The food here is really good; great presentation and generous portions. The Fullers beer is served from the barrel so is fresh and in tip top condition. If you haven't visited The Oak put it on your to-do list because it's a gem.

We visited the Oak Inn on Sunday 6th July 2025 for lunch. We were greeted by friendly bar staff and were placed in a lovely bay window table. All the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The roast chicken was very tasty and portions are not stingy here, we all got so full up. The atmosphere of the pub was great, and we can’t wait to come back in the colder months as it would be very cosy. Will definitely recommend. Thank you.

Best steak I have had in years! Great decor n service. Lovely to follow lane on for a wander in forest. Heard a woodpecker. Ponies passing us to take a drink at a brook. The free library in telephone box outside looks a tad sad so bring some unwanted but quality books to top it up ;-).
Marta E — Google review
I came here for the 1st time in a long time, we had 3 roast been dinners, I was so disappointed. And the serving staff I think might not be allowed to speak to customers as I never got anything from the young lady serving us. Food and service was awful, luckily they had good customers, as it helped with the atmosphere. I won’t be coming again. I will say location and building is amazing, just a shame about everything else. Food attached of the beef, I couldn’t cut because it was so tough.
Annie A — Google review
Have often driven past and wondered what is was like. We cycled there as a group on a tour of the local pubs. Had a lovely Thai green curry and it was served with a pint of Clarksons Hawkstone lager! What a great combo The interior of the pub is spotless and had a welcome feel to it . The bar staff are very friendly and the service on the food was very good

We had a lovely meal with visiting Polish friends, we wanted a typical English experience. Chloe was superb from the moment we arrived, she was engaging and friendly. A real personal touch which made our visit very memorable. Thank you Chloe for your warm welcome. Thank you too for the delicious fish and chips and beer!

The Elderflower Restaurant in Lymington offers a refined modern British fine dining experience in a relaxed setting adorned with monochrome shades. This establishment presents a fusion of French and British cuisine, creating an exquisite menu for patrons to enjoy. With its elegant ambiance and delectable dishes, The Elderflower Restaurant is a must-visit destination for those seeking an exceptional culinary experience in the area.
Visited The Elderflower to try the 7 course (yes, 7 course) tasting menu, and I must say it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Every dish was incredible, but not large enough to make you feel like a stuffed pig by the end. The wine was matched perfectly to each dish and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Easily one of the best restaurant meals I've ever tasted, just superb.
Tom C — Google review
I’m always impressed by the quality and creativity of the food here. The chef’s talent shines through in every dish, with flavours and presentation that are consistently imaginative and beautifully balanced. I’m a big fan of tasting menus, and this one easily holds its own against several Michelin star experiences I’ve had. Not knowing what’s coming next, and having each course introduced as it arrives, really adds to the sense of occasion. It’s also great to see a place investing in future talent—the energy and enthusiasm from the team is infectious. Our waiter was genuinely thrilled when we complimented the bread—he couldn't hold back that he’d made it himself that morning. Just a heads-up: tips are cash only, so it's worth bringing some along to avoid getting caught out. I can't wait to be back, if only I could fit in more than once a year.
J G — Google review
My wife and I ate at the Elderflower in Lymington and had the 3 course lunch menu. It was a delightful meal at a reasonable price. The freshly baked bread was such a lovely way to start, along with the bouquet garni butter which was very moreish. We had an oyster each, which we didn't regret! We've never had a better Oyster, and the flavour pairing of jalepeno and honey worked so well. We had the starters of duck salad and cuttlefish, which was pleasant. The main course was the highlight, the mixed grill of seafood was awesome, and the smoky charred flavour was addictive! The desserts were brilliant, especially since it was my first soufflé ever! So delicious. Thanks to Keane and the rest of the team at the Elderflower for a lovely lunch.
David G — Google review
I ordered a takeaway Mixed Fish Grill with potatoes for £25 from The Elderflower Restaurant In Lymington, expecting a decent portion and quality for the price. Although the restaurant staff were nice the food experience was a letdown. First of all, the portion size was shockingly small for a £25 meal — it felt more like a starter than a main course. To make matters worse, instead of the potatoes I ordered, I received plain noodles, which made no sense. For a dish that’s marketed as a premium option, this felt lazy and overpriced. I definitely won’t be ordering from here again. There are plenty of places that offer better quality and value for money. Very disappointing.
Agata K — Google review
A "10 minute wait" for takeaway fish & chips turned into a 35 minute wait, orders came out in waves and for the last 2 portions we were informed that they'd run out of chips and they were now coming fries (looked like the type ovened from a frozen bag). If I had known in advance I wouldve chosen a different venue for our lunch. The standard dining-in experience may have been given the AA 3 Rosettes, but the takeaway option sadly doesn't live up to that grading at all. Communication of expected delays in advance and knowing stock levels could be improved significantly. From what we saw whilst ordering, the quality of food being carried to tables inside looked great. A last tip if ordering the takeaway is to check your order by opening the box before leaving to confirm that you have salt and vinegar on, as they didn't add any to mine despite confirming it at the counter. Not worth £16.50, grab a sandwich from the store opposite, save yourself £10 to use on a flapjack, coffee and 30 minutes of your holiday.
Josh F — Google review
A wonderful full on experience. I chose the KF Fish wings as my starter. This chef must be mad to come up with the idea of fish wings KFC style. It’s so hard to eat without getting frustrated by a bone here or there; but it is soooo worth it. A totally tasty, barking mad, delicious starter. Being a Friday I followed by posh fish n chips. It’s just what to expect from an excellent restaurant. Spot on. To finish Rasberry soufflé. An amazing and incredible desert. It’s a must visit restaurant.
Paul C — Google review
This is fine dining restaurant, but we felt a little disappointed. The duck salad was tasty but didn't seem to have any meat and was what seemed to be duck skin scratchings. The seafood mixed grill was more stew like and the fish was a bit over cooked. The raspberry soufflé was the star dish and quite brilliant.
Richard R — Google review
We chose the four course tasting menu with accompanying wine flight. What a revelation! The whole evening was perfect in every way. Yes, it was expensive, but quality and inventiveness costs - and this evening had the best of both. Great venue for that special treat. I won’t post pictures as that would spoil the surprise of the tasting menu, but each course looked and tasted incredible.

It's also pet-friendly with a special dog menu featuring pooch wine and snacks.
What a little gem! Our team at the Moxie hotel recommended this place to us. It had a really cute, eclectic atmosphere and great food. And our server Rebecca was a gem as well! We had the chicken schnitzel and the duck curry, which was just the right amount of spicy! Don’t miss this great little spot!

We had our first lunch at Bill's today. Was absolutely delicious 😋 I had Eggs Benedict & Chips and my partner had Steak, Eggs & Chips. The atmosphere was some comforting and homely, so much decoration to look at on the walls. We were both very satisfied with our meals and we had the most wonderful server Madison. Quick service, food was out really quickly and plates taken away quick and efficient after we'd finished eating. She checked if we needed anything twice, once before our meal and again during to make sure everything was okay, great customer service ☺️ Definitely had a great experience, will definitely return soon. Thank you 😊

A must to visit!!! Bills Southampton is amazing… from the food to the service and atmosphere all tick the boxes… will definitely be returning their Mac and cheese and corn ribs are to die for… staff are lovely and friendly and nothing is too much trouble… it was our wedding anniversary and we got a dessert on the house which was a lovely touching thing to do… we also received our meal but no drinks ( although we did have water) and when we said we were waiting for a drink they couldn’t get us ours drinks quick enough and took them off the bill which was not necessary but nice to show they appreciate their customer service.. burgers are amazing all round thoroughly enjoyed our visit and a wonderful start to our holiday

Overall, today's (August 2025) meal was good but there was room for improvement. My wife asked for her eggs to be lightly poached (runny). We both later said we noticed the waitress didn't write that down and when the dish arrived, the eggs were solid. The waitress was friendly and efficient. I disliked the 12.5% service charge, although it was optional. My burger was cooked to perfection and I liked the rosemary salted fries.

Kayleigh was very polite and courteous, prompt and efficient service by her and the team at Bills. Coconut latte was the best and I loved the vegan bacon, and the biscoff pancakes! Sam was welcoming from the moment we walked in and so friendly, with a great energy. When I asked for a smaller portion of something, Sam made this happen, thank you Sam and Kayleigh :)

Stopped for brunch and we both ordered the Bill’s Big Brunch. Unfortunately, it was the worst big brunch I have had. The egg was completely burnt on one side and the potatoes were chewy, bacon crumbled apart with a fork — not great when you’re expecting a freshly cooked, tasty breakfast. Service was great and the place has a nice atmosphere, but the food really let it down.
Vanessa B — Google review
For the past 3 years I’ve been enjoying my visits to Bills simply because the staff are super friendly and welcoming the managers are always on top of things weather you have a booking or not you still great treated with class. The menu is absolutely mouth watering leaving you with a wide variety of options to choose from. The environment is family friendly and enjoyable. My favourite go to place

Great location and atmosphere! Perfect for a pre-cruise dinner. We were welcomed and seated warmly. At first our food wasn’t quite hot enough (yes we’re picky…and middle age, verging on old age) but the Rock Star Manager, Samuel, quickly made everything right…and then some. He has a perfect personality for his role. I hope Bill’s Restaurant and Bar recognize what a gem they have with this young man managing this restaurant.

This was our second visit. The venue is beautiful, the bar is splendid it. Food: The starter - the sauce was over powering and salty for my taste. Main meal, the pigeon was beautifully cooked, still pink inside 😋, however again the sauce was over powering and slightly too salty, still managed to enjoy it. The tiramisu was pure alcohol, well over soaked and a massive splodged portion. The staff were pleasant. Would I come again? ...Possibly, Would I recommend it? Yes, it is a wonderful place with a sense of occasion.

We came here for the food, but in reality it was more of an all-inclusive experience. We spent the afternoon here, enjoying the good food and vibes. The focaccia starter was oily, but overall tasted great with the mushroom gratin. We tried the vegetarian à la carte menu because the set menu was mixed veg and non-veg items. Overall, we enjoyed the food, especially the veg hot pot, aubergines and vegetable pasta. Highly recommended, bit expensive but lovely to go for a special occasion.

On our way home from a stay in Bournemouth,we decided to make a pitt stop. It took just over 40mins to get here, navigating through the village of Lyndhurst and numerous wild ponies. The hotel and surroundings are magnificent with views of the New Forest as far as the eye can see. But as impressive it all is,we are not here for that. We are here for the food of Hartnett Holder & Co. Angela Hartnett & Luke Holder are in charge of the kitchen here, serving Italian influenced dishes. As we were early we managed to get seated on the terrace in the glorious sunshine with our doggies. While admiring the surroundings a member of staff brought out a bowl of olives and nuts. We ordered a couple of zero alcohol Erdinger beers £11.(driving). Menu wise, there was a choice between the bar, a set lunch and an A la Carte. We chose from the bar menu. Risotto Milanese £16 Saffron infused, aged parmesan & butter. Spaghetti Bolognese £15 Somerset Saxon Chicken Milanese £20 Lemon, parmesan & rocket. Cornish Fish £30 Tenderstem broccoli, lemon & green leaves. Chips Skinnies £7 Although we were full,we could not leave until we tried the Tiramisu £15. Everything we had was just as expected. Simple dishes, beautifully executed and full of flavour. With lots of parmesan to add. We didn't get to see much of the inside of the house as doggies are not allowed in. Hence that's the reason we dined outside. But we did get first class service and enjoyed every minute of our visit. Thank goodness the weather was on our side.

This is one of my favourites. A lovely restaurant in a stunning location hidden in the New Forest. Went here for Mother’s Day and the had the Gnocchi for starter, Ox Cheek for main and Baked Alaska for dessert. It was gorgeous. Will definitely be back!
Anna E — Google review
What an amazing lunch! My friend and I are huge Great British Menu fans, and we were very excited to visit. We started our visit in the bar where we had a gorgeous signature fizz, Rock Story. It was fresh and dry but still had a gentle fruit note. For entree, we shared a gorgeous heritage tomato salad that was fresh and sweet. For mains, I had an amazing veal dish, and my friend had the hake. Every mouthful was flavoursome and tantalising. We end our meal with a cheese board and espressos. One piece of advice is to give yourself a whole afternoon. Our reservation was 12:30pm and we finished up around 3:00pm. Perfection cannot be rushed. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The sommelier steered me right with the wine pairing for my veal! Our server was very attentive and helped with dietary requirements.

We went for a date night and had such a delicious meal. The risotto and gnocchi were superb, followed by a very tender lamb. Dinner was only made better by an excellent wine pairing recommended by the lovely Ava. We kept saying afterward that she really made the night for us 🙂

We visited for the second time for supper on 30 July for my birthday. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like VIPs. My wife is in a wheelchair and manager Stephanie immediately came out to help advise on car parking and to assist in helping us out of the car. We had drinks in the attractive bar and then headed through to the spacious and light restaurant for a superb meal. Each dish was beautifully crafted and presented, and tasted as good as it looked. Service was charming and efficient. The meal was truly stunning and perfect for a special occasion. We also had a problem with our adapted car which became apparent when we arrived, necessitating a call out from the RAC. Without any prompting, Stephanie realised that we may need alternative transport home and researched wheelchair taxis, which are not readily available in the evenings, so she spent some time locating and speaking to companies to ensure we had a means of getting home should the car have been out of action. She kept us informed in a very caring way with minimal interruption to our evening and we felt very reassured. Fortunately the RAC were able to resolve the problem but the way Stephanie took ownership of the situation and was so proactive to alleviate any stress for us was really heartwarming. It really was a special evening and without a doubt, above and beyond even the greatest of expectations. Thank you for such a wonderful evening and we will definitely be back!

Nestled in the charming town of Lymington, Rivaaz Lymington stands out as a beacon for Indian cuisine enthusiasts. With its sleek and modern decor, this restaurant offers a delightful blend of classic favorites and lesser-known dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. The culinary prowess here is evident, especially with their renowned tandoor dishes that have earned them multiple accolades over the years.
We were looking for a nice restaurant and we found it. We had dinner on a Monday bank holiday and we had no problem having a table even though we didn't book in advance. After we sat down the restaurant was full so we were very lucky. The service was very good all the waitress knew what they were doing and it was awesome. The food it was very nice, we had their special dish of lamb and it was delicious. The menus are on the table so it is easy to order if you wish any other favourite dishes as the food is very nice and the portions are generous. The ambience is calm and cosy that makes you feel good. I just can recommend this restaurant if you are in Lymington.

What an amazing experience . Lovely decor , really friendly & attentive staff. It was our best Indian dining experience to date! We also got a cake for my other half's bday which was a nice surprise. Don't hesitate to come here! I had railway lamb which was delicious and tender and partner had a korma /madras hot. We also tried tandoori mixed started which was amazing!! We shall return when next in the area thanks guys! :) Kat & Luke (Fareham)

I ate here with my parents a few days ago and the first thing we noticed were the large number of awards on the walls for best restaurant. When we ordered these were more than vindicated and this is honestly the best curry I've ever had. My only regret is I don't live nearby so I can't regularly come back! The staff were friendly, service was very quick, and I can't say enough about how delicious all of the food was. I can't recommend enough!

Beautiful décor and food was lovely (a little less spicy I would say than some of the equivalent dishes in West London). They served all 13 of us with ease and speed. Very helpful with the booking a week beforehand (we understandably put down a deposit which was taken off the bill). Ohh and they accept Amex

The food and service was superb. We went here during our visit to the New forest. I absolutely loved the Lamb Fire cracker and the spice was spot on! Nice and tender meat and plenty of it (not left short). My partner had the Chicken Dhansak and again she said it was great. Many Indian restaurants out there but I got to say this one was outstanding and I wish it was my local.

Very busy place and obviously popular with the locals. Food good but two of our King Prawn dishes were slightly over cooked, which is a pity. Great flavours and sensibly priced drinks. Main gripe? Cheap frozen deserts AVOID!! Come on Rivaaz, you're better than this.

Certainly not cheap but this is one restaurant where you 100% get what you pay for — and then some. To start with, service was incredible. The guys who waited on me were attentive, had great suggestions on what to order and were quick to clear the dishes when done. Food was great. A lot of traditional Indian dishes while also offering some original fusion recipes. Overall this is restaurant that stands out among the rest and is worth the money if you’re looking for nice meal and night out.

Came for dinner as recommended by a friend who lives in Lymington. Very tasty and flavoursome food in a clean and beautifully decorated restaurant. Staff was pleasant and helpful despite being very busy! I had the railway lamb which was delicious. Generous chunks of tender lamb with a bit of spice. My friends had the Chicken tikka and a chicken korma which they loved. I would definitely visit again and also recommend. Pre booking advised as there was limited timing slots when I tried booking in a day advance.

Nestled on the edge of the picturesque New Forest, The Empress of Blandings Pub & Restaurant is a delightful spot that pays homage to P.G. Wodehouse's beloved fictional pig. With its charming weathered wooden beams and inviting flagstone floor, this pub exudes warmth and character. It's not just a haven for humans; your furry friends are more than welcome here, making it one of the most dog-friendly establishments in the UK.
Food portions are massive!! Service was fantastic, the kitchen lost our order and the staff couldn't apologise enough, then the special was finished so we changed one meal. Again a big apology and they kindly rewarded us for the mistakes. We honestly didn't feel we'd been waiting that long and the change wasn't a problem. So thank you for the excellent service and kind gesture, especially as it was our wedding anniversary. Will definitely return.

What a lovely place to come dine. The family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit, the service is exceptional and the food was excellent. Very big portions, rated by my daughter a 9.5 out of 10. First place in England I’ve been to that gave us sweets (after ates) with the bill. The service has been amazing and thank you for the meal.

our first time visiting on the way somewhere last Sunday. we had pre-booked. we arrived earlier but within minutes we were told our table was ready. we were given time to look at the menu. as we waited a guy behind had the prawn cocktail and it looked amazing. we all decide a starter may be too big so all went for the roast. our friend is vegan and had the nut roast. the meals arrived quite quickly and were amazing. I had the lamb my husband had the beef. 5 roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding with parsnip crisps. the whole meal was delicious. we decided to go for a dessert. i had three ice-cream scoops, the other 2 had a sundae each. the pub itself is beautifully decorated and we will definitely return.

The Empress of Blandings Pub & Restaurant is a fantastic spot that strikes a great balance between a classic pub and a quality restaurant. The menu offers a wide and varied selection, with something to please everyone, and the portion sizes are very generous-come hungry! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal. Don’t skip the puddings-they’re absolutely delicious and a real highlight of the experience. A great place for hearty food and a cozy vibe.

We popped in on a Friday lunchtime on the off chance there was a table available, as we had heard the Empress has been very popular recently - and rightly so! The pub was almost full, despite this the service was excellent and very quick. We were served by 4 lovely ladies who were all cheery and happy to help with anything. All the other tables around us were also checked up on regularly. The food was delicious, we ordered some of the lunchtime ciabattas which I would recommend. Good drink selection also. Thank you.

My partner and I love The Empress of Blandings.. The burgers in particular are amazing, they are our go to dish! But what sets the place apart is the service — Victoria deserves a special mention. She was attentive, friendly, and seemed genuinely invested in making sure everything was perfect. From the cosy interior, standout burgers, and service by Victoria makes the Empress of Blandings a place you’ll want to keep going back to!

Lovely local pub with brilliant service and tasty food. Good portions, would recommend the sizzling fajitas. Busy Wednesday evening, however we were served by Flo, who was attentive and made sure to go the extra mile to check back on us and refill drinks. The rest of the staff were also very pleasant. We will definitely be returning soon to the Empress!

Having food allergies and dogs, this pub was ideal. I actually had a pudding which was amazing and so tasty. Great location, great food, great customer service and would like to thank all the staff and chefs. It's not often I can go to places now and feel full. Will recommend to all my friends 🧡.

Absolutely phenomenal! Yusuf served me. Best roast lamb I’ve ever tasted. The meat was incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection with a beautiful balance of crispiness on the outside and juiciness on the inside. The flavors were rich and aromatic—clearly prepared with skill and passion. Every bite melted in my mouth. If you’re ever lucky enough to have Yusuf cook for you, do not miss the roast lamb. Five stars without hesitation!

Food was good, standard Vintage Inn so good options for dietary requirements etc. You can sit outside too, lots of benches. We had a £10 off voucher but we couldn't use it as their free WiFi doesn't actually work well enough to load up emails to show the voucher so quite dissapointed at the cost. They could see the email but refused to take the money off as the code wouldn't load.

Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by Rhys. He seated us promptly and informed us on all the relevant menu information such as the pie and soup of the day. I had the pie and my wife had the lasagna and our meals were excellent!!! We were persuaded into having puddings and they did not disappoint, the crumble and brownie were delightful and ended the perfect meal. This is a friendly and wholesome local pub which catered to all of our needs and we will definitely be back!!!

It was indeed a nice experiences trying out Greek food here. The place is not veryyyy big but looks nice and is cozy. The food was delicious and they offer a wide range of hot and cold beverages as well. Preparation time was adequate. The staff was friendly and explained the dishes well! I needed that since it was my first time trying authentic Greek food. 😌 Would not hesitate to recommend this place!!

First visit for a long time. Went on a whim. Food was flavourful and well presented. When I said that I didn't want the salad because I don't like onions or olives, my server said that she could make one without either. So many places have the salads already made and mixed that I wasn't expecting that. Good portions, enough to feel full without leaving anything or being overful. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.

We have known this place since 2019 and had food there many times. ( eat ins and takeaways) The meat was on point every time we went there in the past, but last night, it was horrible. The food was purchased in the evening by my partner. More than half of the wrap was filled with fatty chunks when she brought it back. There was barely any proper meat in the wrap, which was so disgusting. We will never get food from this place. Such as shame as we never had this issue, but nothing good lasts forever.

The Amberwood Inn is a lively pub that offers live jazz on Tuesdays and bands on Fridays. It's also dog-friendly and serves home-cooked pub meals. Situated atop a cliff, the restaurant provides stunning views of the pebble beach below. Visitors praise the delicious food, with one guest particularly impressed by the lasagna from the children's menu. The atmosphere is described as lovely and clean, with attentive staff.
What an unforgettable lunch experience with my mom! We kicked things off with a mouthwatering pork belly—perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, each bite bursting with flavor. Paired with a luscious sauce that took it to the next level, it was an absolute showstopper. Next, we dove into the lamb, which was cooked to absolute perfection. The rich, tender meat melted in our mouths, and the seasoning was spot on—bold and comforting without overpowering the natural flavors. And then… the dessert. Oh, the cinnamon crumble! A sweet, spiced masterpiece that had us savoring every bite. The delicate balance of crunchy and soft textures, with a hint of cinnamon warmth, was the perfect finale to our meal. But the true star of the show was the specialty of the house—something so unique and delicious it defies description. It was like a little treasure on the plate, something you won’t find anywhere else. If you want an extraordinary meal with flavors that leave you craving more, this lunch was an absolute win! A memorable treat shared with my mom—what could be better?

This was where I took my wife on our first date and have been back every year since (including to propose). The menu is small and excellently prepared. Outstanding food doesn't come cheap but Clos du Marquis is always value for money. I cannot recommend it enough.

We went with another couple for lunch and all felt it was the best experience in our recent memory which is saying something as we love eating out! Sorry I didn't take pictures of the food which was delicious from the amuse-bouche to the chocolate truffles served complimentary at the end of our meal. Champagne excellent, crab starter excellent, rabbit with mustard sauce absolutely divine. But in addition to the lovely food and wine, the owner was so very welcoming without being intrusive, served perfectly so we always felt taken care of but our conversations never interrupted. It was like the Gavroche where no one appears until you need them. To take it to perfect 5 stars, the restaurant was immaculately clean and the decorations and loos beautifully done. That is where these pictures are from as I would like to copy the idea - sorry no pictures of the well presented food......

Located in Southampton's dockyard, the Platform Tavern is a historic pub that offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, live music, and a menu featuring hearty British fare with a modern twist. It's known for serving pub lunches, sandwiches, and all-day breakfasts. The pub is also recognized for its connection to local culture and history, with a blue plaque honoring James McGrady, a first-class steward on the Titanic. Additionally, it hosts live bands regularly and provides an intimate micropub feel.
Very good Southampton pub close to the Isle of Wight ferry terminal. Four cask beers on handpump when I visited. A couple of tables outside. The pub's name refers to an Napoleonic era gun platform that was nearby. Part of the ancient city walls is visible behind a glass panel in the bar. Frequent live music events particularly at weekends.

A brilliant band played there last night. The beer was really good if you like craft and real ales. The location is really close to the ferry and cruise terminals so if you are visiting the local area I highly recommend a drink (or 2) in this traditional British pub. The staff are really friendly and apparently this was a pub/ale house when the Titanic left Southampton and was copied for a scene in the film. After sitting in the window seats last night I can absolutely believe that maybe true.

Walked in for dinner at 6 PM. Because we were not greeted, sat, or approached by waitstaff, we eventually went to the bar to place our order for food and drinks. Bartender poured the drinks, then refused to take our food order because she said they weren’t serving food that night even though menus were posted and we saw people eating. When we started to walk out, she demanded payment for the drinks because they had already been poured. We objected because we had told her we came for dinner. After arguing with us, she consulted with her manager, but he backed her up, refusing to hear us out. We felt belittled and threatened. It was a horrible experience.

We were visiting this area from the south east and having spent the afternoon on the beach deciding to walk over a mile to go to the East End. We were in desperate need of something to eat, anything would have done, and arriving 15 minutes before the kitchen close we thought we could at least order some chip. But no! We were greeted by a very unfriendly bartender that only offered us her pearls of wisdom, by saying get a cab to Limington or walk an hour to the nearest pub. I’m glad we are more friendly where we live. Obviously living in the new forest doesn’t give you good customer service, or you take so much money you can turn away trade. We won’t be back!

The Forest Home is a local bar in Hampshire serving fresh, home-cooked meals, as well as family-friendly atmosphere with big screen TV and children's play area. They are part of the Britstop network which makes them welcoming to campers too!
Michael, their chef, really serves up delicious and well presented food, adapting the menu to cater for vegetarians, vegans and likely more. Friendly and professional service from all. Made it a pleasant meal out. Customer service really is at the heart of this business.

We recently visited The Forest Home and were so impressed! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. A real hidden gem – we’ll definitely be coming back!

Just stopped for a drink. Great outdoor play area with two bouncy castles and a new swing area. Was very quiet in the play area. Great for the kids for an hour. Quiet for the parents.

We stopped in on route home, the hostess was excellent fabulous family atmosphere everyone we encounteredwas very friendly. We had a Sunday roast, we chose the pork, we didn't think this was a pork joint and was quite tough, maybe one of the other options would have been better.

Traditional pub, nicely decorated and atmospheric. The food was really tasty and good portion sizes and we felt it was value for money. Staff were friendly. We had gammon egg and chips (3eggs!) I had lamb shank which was lovely and we had sticky toffee pudding and coconut and lime cheesecake- both very nice. Recommend ✅

Nestled in a picturesque setting, The Gun Inn offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with roaring log fires and charming decor. The menu features an array of dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, including Solent skate wing and New Forest wild mushrooms on sourdough. The pub also boasts a superb wine list and delectable desserts, along with the promotion of local beer.
Fantastic pub. Very tasty food. The best chips I've ever eaten Great atmosphere with very personable staff. Very large beer garden with an outside bar to purchase drinks and order food. Outside area has massive covered tented area, which is good for hot weather also has heating for colder days. They have live music events too The pub was very clean. We will be back Highly recommend this pub

Lovely roast this afternoon. The pub was busy, but they managed to give us a table 😀 food was perfect with plenty of well roasted potatoes. 100% worth the 90miles drive. Especially as the key is right outside for a wonderful walk afterwards
Sue C — Google review
This is the second time to have lunch at the great pub. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu has a number of locally sourced produce and local beers including the excellent and very local Sea Wall; a pint or two of which is highly recommended. It was good to see a few vegetarian options on the menu sound with locally caught fish shed farmed produce. My only complaint is the lack of custard on the dessert menu and their running out of Yorkshire pudding for the lamb roast 🫣; minor points I know. The buffing itself is delightfully quaint and in close proximity to the coastal path.

Exceptional! The staff were lovely, beer was good and the food was one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in ages. Mackerel cooked perfectly, with a super tasty salsa and hot crispy fries. Way exceeded expectations for a pub. Will definitely return.

I would say this is my favourite pub for lunch in the New Forest. The food and service is great (special shout out to Libby!) and the garden is really pleasant - nicely sheltered, plenty of space between the tables, bar outside for ordering. Location is perfect for a walk or cycle from Lymington or Milford on Sea. Highly recommended.

The Gun Inn is always a fantastic spot for a drink in the sunshine. They've got a beautiful back garden, and it's the perfect end (or start) to lots of great walks to Lymington and beyond. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. I didn't have anything to eat, but the food I saw looked fantastic, so I'll definitely be back to sample that!

This pub has one of the most beautiful beer gardens I've ever seen! It's absolutely worth a visit, and I always drink Landlord, but this particular pint was unusually tasty. New keg? Clean lines? Don't know, but The Gun is full of cool things to look at, and they've clearly put a lot of thought and energy into the surroundings. Very enjoyable. Super dog friendly!

Disappointing Experience at (GDK) Poor Service & Substandard Food Dear GDK Team, I am writing to share my deeply disappointing experience at your establishment today. From the moment I entered, the service was unwelcoming and impersonal. When I attempted to pay by card, I was abruptly directed to navigate your new ordering system alone without guidance, which felt dismissive and unprofessional for a paying customer. Regrettably, the food fell far below expectations. The doner kebab was tough and chewy, resembling leather more than quality meat, with a meager portion that left me unsatisfied. The chicken appeared to be processed, ground bits of unclear origin, lacking any semblance of flavor or freshness. The salad was equally underwhelming—a single piece of tomato and no sauce whatsoever, making the meal dry and unappetizing. This was my first visit, and I’m shocked by the stark contrast between your restaurant’s reputation and the reality I encountered. Doner kebabs are typically celebrated for their bold flavors and generous portions, but here, every element fell short. I cannot recommend your establishment to others in its current state. I urge you to revisit your management practices, staff training, and ingredient quality to address these issues. A restaurant’s success hinges on both service and substance, and neither was present today. I hope this feedback sparks meaningful improvements.
Mohammodpur S — Google review
Very bad kebab. Ordered it via uber, so it was cold when delivered but that's not the main problem. Meat was very greasy and not tasty, the portion ordered was normal even though I spent 3£ more for extra chicken. Very little to no salad at all, even though I ordered extra lettuce, tomatoes etc. Awful. Price 13£ for a very bad kebab from GDK is a joke, better order from local grills next time to support local business, they atleast care for their customers and the food their serving.
Karol S — Google review
Portion size very small despite adding extra meat and paying extra for that. Very expensive meal. The service is great, but in the kitchen I have seen the chef touching the food with his hand in my container before he hand it to the cashier. That place is never again for me.

Wine bar
Porters Wine & Charcuterie is a stylish restaurant located in the historical Porters Meadow neighborhood, offering an extensive wine list and gourmet meat and cheese boards. Inspired by the enotecas of Italy, it provides a great setting for socializing, whether for after-work drinks or business meetings. The venue allows guests to choose their own boards from a selection of meats, cheeses, and chutneys.
We've loved Porters since it first opened and have been multiple times. Great range of cheeses and meats and the boards are so rich with a great selection of extras. It's also very good price for how much food you receive. The wine list is big and easy to find something to match your board. The cocktail choice is also big and their espresso martinis are easily the best I've had anywhere. The mint chocolate is my recommendation! It's a great place for any occasion and we've always encountered very friendly and attentive staff. If you haven't been yet... Why not? It's absolutely worth it.

Nice cheese and charcuterie… .. coppa , brasola , nduja and a very lovely sausccison.. my advice is order 1 serving for 2 people for a small picky graze , it took 50 mins to get to our food out which was way too long for a Thursday night.. very polite staff who were aware we had waited too long .. the justification was “we are sooo busy” We had booked 6 weeks before … you knew we were coming… thank you to the polite hard working staff though, id definitely go back.

Was not sure about my friend's birthday bottomless pit choice but it was a great one. We had 2 hours to enjoy cheese, meats and salad, with breads, biscuits and chutneys. For £30 we could also have ad much prosecco, red wine, white wine or soft drinks. The board was shared, but we all had enough for each option. The staff were amazing, topping is up, providing extra salad and different bread. We all had such a great time we will be back.

We’ve been regulars here recently, but after tonight’s experience, that’s unfortunately come to an end. After politely asking if we could move to a preferred table, the manager abruptly approached us with “Problem with the table?” not as a question of service, but as a challenge. What followed was even worse: we were accused of lying and having raised that it was quite embarrassing around how she was handling it was told we weren’t made to feel embarrassed, as if we were making an issue where there wasn’t one. It was unnecessarily confrontational and entirely inappropriate. We’ve always enjoyed visiting, but this encounter left us feeling humiliated for simply expressing a polite request. There are great staff here who create a warm and welcoming atmosphere but the manager’s attitude completely undermines that. If they’re serious about delivering good hospitality, replacing this individual would be a necessary step in the right direction. Really disappointing end to what had been a place we enjoyed.

What a great addition to the Southampton dining scene. A beautifully designed restaurant specialists in cheese/meat boards and fine wine. What I love is the superb staff, friendly service and of course great food. This place can be a place to bring a date, a casual catch up or just a meeting. Whatever brings you here its guaranteed you will stay a while enjoy the wine and chilled beats. The decor is amazing too - the ceiling looks like grass and there is a lovely hand made sign over the bar! There is such a selection of food that you will find something delicious. And even a full vegan alternative so no excuses from anyone not to visit. As for access, the Porter is fully inclusive, handicapped access and I was able to bring my support dog and she was also made to feel like a valued guest. Special thanks to Milo, for always going above and beyond with the service. Highly recommended.

The Bell Inn is a charming Georgian inn located on the outskirts of the New Forest in Hampshire. It offers comfortable and stylish accommodation, with eight ground floor rooms that are pet-friendly. A lovely little pub with a nice garden, friendly to dogs and children. Pick your visiting times carefully: Monday to Friday lunchtime food. Evenings: the pub stays open until they run out of customers - usually by 9 pm.

Friendly staff, nice venue. Food was average at best. Oven chips, tasteless and floury, fish batter oily, lemon wedge clearly been sitting around for a while, salad limp. Looked okay when it arrived but very mediocre quality. Maybe I just chose badly but you'd think fish and chips would be a pretty basic staple to get right.

Very busy on a Saturday afternoon but great atmosphere. Friendly helpful staff. Good place to stop for food and drink if you are walking around Winchester. See St John's next door
Graham B — Google review
Having visited the bell inn today for lunch, I pleased with the food I had, although this was only a hot BLT, with a side of chips. The bacon was cooked well and the sandwich was enjoyable. The chips were homemade and freshly cooked, the only complaint was that there weren't many of them. The outdoor seating area was nice and there were plenty of tables to choose from and dogs are welcome. In my opinion, the main issue with the pub is the the lack of advertising, most people pass it regularly on their way into Winchester without even seeing it, which is a shame, as it has a nice atmosphere and a quiet place to enjoy food or drink.

My wife and I stopped in on a Sunday on the way home from a day out. We were warmly greeted and instantly felt at home there. The menu has plenty to offer. It really feels like an authentic Italian restaurant. The decor is beautiful and fits the way the staff treat you. I had the prawns for starters, steak for mains and Creme brûlée for dessert. All washed down with a lovely red. A wonderful experience. Please go try it for yourself.

Fabulous little Italian restaurant in Lyndhurst with a lovely cosy atmosphere and friendly, welcoming and polite staff. I’d booked ahead as I’d wanted to make sure we were OK to take our dog with us, and on arrival to the restaurant had been reserved a lovely table by the window with plenty of space for him. They even asked if he’d like some water, which was a nice touch. The menu has plenty of choice, at very reasonable prices for the portion size and quality of ingredients used. Everything we ordered was delicious, and after three courses, a bottle of the house red (a very pleasant Italian Nero D’Avola), and a couple of Limoncello aperitifs, we left feeling full, very happy and content. There was a mistake in the kitchen with my pizza order, but it was swiftly handled without any fuss, and a replacement in front of me within just 4 minutes. Bravo! We’d very happily eat here again next time we’re in the area. Would definitely recommend booking ahead though - we went on a Tuesday evening (admittedly in the peak summer season) and every table was occupied at 7.30pm - popular little place, and understandably so!

We visited here on Friday for date night and were taken back by the incredible service in Dolce Vita. From start to finish all staff were extremely attentive and made us feel welcome from the get go. We really appreciated it! When inquiring about the wine menu, a gentleman explained and recommended each option to us. Food service was very quick and all 4 of our dishes arrived hot at the same time. The atmosphere here is perfect as even on a busier night the seating doesn’t feel packed. If you do come here please order the garlic bread! Pricing for the pizza and pasta is reasonable and all in all it felt like an authentic Italian restaurant that was a lovely surprise for our trip!

Very cosy restaurant, headed by an established and talented Italian chef. The pizzas are lovely, the staff are friendly, and the portion sizes are generous. You can tell they take pride in cleanliness and presentation right from the moment you step inside, and the level of custom shows that people really enjoy this place. It is regularly completely full with diners. My only criticism is it can get rather hot in here, to the point where it can get a little uncomfortable, especially as the place gets busy.

Brilliant pub, lovely country views and vibes. Large outdoor seating area, plenty of space but gets busy. Every kind of ploughmans you could imagine. That's all they sell. Stroke of genius. Delicious ice cream. Wonderful on a sunny day. Food was delicious and fresh, service was fast. Local ales. Parking a little awkward and small for the size of the pub. Dog friendly outside. Walks nearby.

Called in to The Royal Oak at lunch time. Their menu seemed to specialise mostly in types of ploughman’s. We ordered 1 ham and cheese, saying we’d share it between us. When it came it was very large and delicious! Plenty for the two of us. It came with a large variety and a lot of ham, cheese and bread with cutlery and plates for two! Quick, polite service, large pub garden with well spaced apart tables. Well worth a visit. It’s now in my satnav for return visits!

The spacious interiors are warm and welcoming, with plenty of room to relax whether you’re dropping in for a quick pint or settling down for a long, leisurely lunch. The menu is packed with delicious dishes and comes in quick! What truly sets this place apart, is the attentive, friendly people working there. Outside, the dog-friendly front garden is a real treat too. 5 stars well deserved!

A pub has to be sure of it's menu when they have such a small selection. But The Royal Oak have it spot on. Ploughmans, with cheese, with gammon, with both, with quiche, with sausage roll or with pork pie. Really, really good, and a lovely setting with fantastic views.

Lovely pub in the New Forest. Great destination for lots of walkers and cyclists. Know for its ploughman's. I was very slightly disappointed in the cheddar one but the blue cheese was good. Great ploughman's lunch, although quite a lot of salad leaves some of which could be replaced with a different item, such as a celery stick (just my personal opinion). Had a Sunday Carvery, Generous portion of meat & fresh vegetables lovely meal, Notice saying due to wastage please only take what you are able to eat ( or similar) good idea! as seen how much people can pile on their plates & then leave! So was surprised when a member of our party after clearing his plate went up to grab a few more roasties & veg ( obviously no more meat) & was shouted at from across the room by a member of staff, 'You can't help yourself to more' apart from that being very rude in front of a room full of customers, surely it's better to eat what you have & then top up if you're going to eat it rather than overfill originally & leave a load? Next time obviously we'll probably overfill rather than suffer embarrassment!

Wow is all I can say about this place. One of the best meals we've had in recent years. The food was the best we've ever eaten on the whole of the Isle of Wight, and matched only by a few places we've eaten at. Add to this young staff, who were helpful, polite, and couldn't do enough for you made it a superb experience. The location above the ferry terminal gives interesting views if you want to sit outside. This is one I'd definitely book a table in advance.

Such a lovely location, great seating outside and inside, however really poor service and questionable food. A couple of our party was running late, which we informed the staff, however they went on to ask us several more times, when they would be here (we was ordering drinks 🍷 and it was not busy). When they arrived, we were seated on two separate tables, which could have easily been put together. After rushing us to be seated, then took a while to take our food order (so what was the rush). I had the cod, it was lovely (have this if you go, nothing else), a few friends had the rump steak which was chewy and not edible, a couple of friends couldn’t eat it and one exchanged it for a chicken dish. Rump steak should never be chewy and to be told it always is and dismissed was unacceptable….source better quality steaks! Also, i really don’t know how my friends ate the cauliflower dish, it looked like a burnt lump of charcoal but we were all hungry by this point. Again, staff took a long time to come take our dessert order (even less busy at the point), then they proceeded to bring us the bill even though we hadn’t had the pudding yet! Rushed, not bothered, rushed, not bothered….make up your mind! Nice touch that they brought out 2 birthday ladies a Birthday plate with a small chocolate pudding on, would have been better before bringing puddings out (just a suggestion)! Please Check your bill… steaks were priced wrongly and we were charged more than what it stated on the menu, drinks added to the bill which we definitely didn’t have (a group of ladies aren’t Ale drinkers) and madness to the point, the member of staff had to refund us money. Overall experience was very poor and disappointing. Such a shame for such a beautiful location!

We didn’t eat and only had one drink each however the ladies who served us were incredibly kind and wonderful. Dog water for our puppy given and great friendly service. Special shout to Ronnie! What is not to love!! Thank you.

What a lovely find. We were early for the ferry and didn’t want to wait in the terminal, but the terrace is right above. Charming staff who were also very helpful Good views, very clean and lovely vibe. The only shame was there was no breakfast on offer when we got there, but the tea was good and the banana bread divine.

First time visit and will definitely return . Helpful, attentive and friendly staff, especially Ruby. Every course was just right. We had the Sunday roast. Meat perfectly cooked, good portions and hot. Followed with a caramelised banana and shortbread which again was just right. Prices reasonable for great food (roast £19 pp).

Lovely mothers day meal here. Very good service, caring and accommodating staff. Great views! The lamb shank was especially lovely ! This is the second time I have eaten here - the first was for breakfasts which were fantastic too! Only reason not a 5 was that the roast could’ve done with more veggies. Will definitely go again as there were so many lovely starters to choose from, I need to try the rest!

We had a lovely afternoon tea at Forest Lodge. Service was exceptional, and the food was great, especially the scones. We were offered more tea a couple times, and they did everything to cater for our dietary preferences despite not being warned of them beforehand. The hotel and restaurant are quite smart too. Would recommend if in the area.

The Huntsman, located in Brockenhurst, has undergone a stylish transformation by Marstons and the Concorde Group. The interior boasts an industrial chic vibe with metal fixtures, reclaimed parquet floors, and plush velour booths. The trendy bedrooms feature window-shaped mirrors, bare-bulb light fittings, and bold patterned fabrics reminiscent of a chic city hotel. For added privacy, guests can opt for rooms in the converted stable block.
Our family lunch at The Huntsman was a great choice. Booking ahead meant we had a lovely, comfortable table in a relaxed and inviting space. The food was a highlight — clearly made with care, packed with flavour, and beautifully plated. The quality, portion size, and attentive service made it a fantastic value. From beginning to end, the experience was smooth and enjoyable. The staff were welcoming and made us feel at home. A fantastic New Forest venue — we’ll definitely visit again.

This was my second visit and it will definitely be my last. I ordered roast beef with no horseradish and a side of cauliflower cheese. The cauliflower cheese never arrived, and the beef was dumped on a bed of horseradish anyway. The beef & Yorkshire pudding were inedible, the potatoes were practically raw, the “vegetables” consisted of leeks and a single carrot, and the plate was swimming in a thin, watery gravy that resembled soup. A roast dinner should be comforting — this was an absolute disaster.

Fabulous 2 night stay at The Huntsman. Newly refurbished room, which was very cosy. Tasty breakfast. Great location, perfect for Forrest walks and even a trip to the Isle of White, which we did! Friendly and helpful staff, they kindly helped us with the trains and ferry as we were a little unsure. We'll be back.

We reserved a table for a family lunch at The Huntsman and were so glad we did. The seating was comfortable and well laid out, creating a really relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen clearly takes pride in what they do — the food was absolutely spot-on, full of flavour and beautifully presented. Great value for the quality, portion size, and service we received. From start to finish, everything ran smoothly, and the staff made us feel welcome and well looked after. A lovely spot for a meal in the New Forest — we’ll definitely be back!

Well what a lovely place. Staff friendly and welcoming. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Nicely decorated place. Was very busy. Reasonably priced. Had cocktails which were good. We had food, I ordered Crab burger which for me didn't work but did try. My partner had a burger which he said was good. This is situated in Brockenhurst on the main road between Lyndhurst and Lymington. Definitely would recommend and go again

We only had food and drinks here. What we had was tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. The darts and shuffleboard were a real hit with my sons and the pub was very dog friendly. The outside bar was also really convenient.

Came here with family whilst staying in Brockenhurst. The staff were very friendly from when we arrived. Got us water for the table without us having to ask. When food was coming out our server went past a couple of times and looked to make sure all had arrived. He noticed 2 were not with the others and was going to chase as the remaining dishes came. The service was quick smooth and we were not rushed at any point. Our server Joshua was great through the whole night. Highly recommend coming here. Will hopefully return before going back home. At busy times would recommend booking so as to avoid disappointment. At the end of our holiday we decided to come here for breakfast. Didn't disappoint. Would highly recommend coming for any meal time they are open. Staff all friendly and helped book when they website messed up.

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. Our roast dinners were tasty but served on cold plates which made food cold. Dish of horseradish sauce was cracked and contained a hair which was off-putting. Staff were apologetic and did offer us a discounted bill to compensate.

Amazing food in a beautiful setting. We shared the beef and it was melt in your mouth. The new forest raspberry cheesecake was incredibly fluffy and light too. Non alcoholic drink selection very good - Spicy Marg was very good. Would definitely visit again. Was such a treat and the hotel and grounds are stunning

Can only speak to the restaurant which the setting and decor was beautiful. The food was really nice as well but unfortunately we were either completely forgotten about or simply uncared for. Plenty of waiting around to be noticed or to get someone’s attention, left a sour taste in our mouths for the price point, which is a shame because everything else was lovely.

Monty's Inn is a charming and acclaimed restaurant located in the well-heeled village of Beaulieu, offering luxury rooms with complimentary full breakfast. The inn is known for its delicious Sunday Roast Dinners and tempting options for the whole family. Guests can enjoy classic English favorites such as homemade scotch eggs, game pies, and British cheese ploughman's, all made with carefully sourced ingredients.
Very quiet on a weekday lunchtime. Very dog friendly in the bar and restaurant, we chose the comfortable bar. The dog biscuits went down very well with our furry friend. Flacks beers and Somerly cider were very nice. Haddock and chips was possibly the finest fish I've had, truly crispy beer batter and a lovely piece of fish. The full Monty burger was very good too.

Such a cosy place in this sweet town! We managed to order a few minutes before the kitchen was about to close and the portions were extremely generous! Fresh and tasty cod with an amazing tartare sauce highly recommended!
M O — Google review
Good beer and an excellent wine menu make for a good start. The food was comforting and delicious; simple and wholesome but well executed. The staff were friendly and prompt. But be aware that their food service isn't all day - I think they only serve lunch until 1430 for instance and we only just arrived in time. The decor was light and had the ceiling been higher I might even have called it airy, but something about the place felt bleak, and I don't think it was just because we were the only people in there.
Alex H — Google review
It's been at least a couple of years since mum and I visited Monty's, which is part of Montague Hotel and Restaurant, Beaulieu. At that time there was a bar menu and we each had a sandwich and a pint, the place was lively and we enjoyed ourselves despite noisy children. Our return visit was awful. We walked into the bar area and no staff (the barman was changing a barrel but this wasn't relayed to us when I went to the restaurant side to find a member of staff). Lifeless and souless. The customers comprised a family with a noisy barking dog who thankfully left and a chap sat by the fire. I asked for a bar menu and the reply was "we don't have one but we have a restaurant menu". I scanned it and thought at nearly £30 per dish for a main course....no thank you. I went back to the bar area and mum spotted that there was 'soup of the day' being advertised which was being served with a toastie (mum would have the soup and I would have the toasty). I then ordered 2 halfs of Flack Manor's Romsey Gold. I set up a tab and the 2 halfs came to £7... you do the per-pint maths. Far too expensive, even by London prices and this is only 4% ABV. Even Molson Coors Blue Moon 5.4% is only £6.80 in establishments near to this place, and is of far superior quality. The few (and young) staff present needed more experience in working in a bar and being able to offer banter with customers and the lack of any atmosphere caused me to cancelled our food order, pay for our drinks and leave. It was the first time I have ever cancelled a food order in my life. I'm unsure who owns this place and whether it is part of Lord Montague's empire. If you're wanting an up-market meal then yes, this would be perfect, eating in the restaurant. But for what should be a lively bar with its own menu then please don't bother. You will be disappointed. This place has so much potential but is desperately lacking personality. Maybe it relies to much on its location, the seasonal tourists and the fact that there is no other bar in the village. Running a bar with hotel and restaurant staff doesn't work.
L T — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here. The staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful, just the right level of attentive. The food was great - huge fish and chips! Properly dog-friendly too - dog bed set up ready for her, along with complimentary treats on a plate for her. Love their 'a la bark' menu, too.

Disappointing experience — poor service and unwelcoming attitude We had high hopes for our lunch at The Monty, having booked well in advance for a relaxed family meal. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. Despite the early booking, we were offered a table right in front of the bathroom door, with no alternative suggested. We asked to sit outside instead, but the table there was unclean and covered in cigarette ashes. Still, it felt like the better option — even if it meant eating next to a busy road. We ordered promptly: wine, a shared starter, and mains for both children and adults (burgers and fish & chips). While the drinks and starter arrived fairly quickly, we then waited 45 minutes for the main courses, with no update or explanation. After asking twice — and only after mentioning we might leave — the food finally arrived. It was decent, but by then the tone of the meal had shifted. When I politely asked why the delay, the staff member responded with defensiveness and attitude. I was told the wait was “perfectly normal,” then that there was only one chef for two kitchens, and finally — quite unbelievably — that it was our fault for ordering a starter. I was also made to feel as if we were complaining to avoid paying, which was frankly inappropriate. We were told the drinks would be removed from the bill, but only the service charge was waived, with no clear explanation. The food was acceptable, but the poor service, lack of basic hospitality, and unpleasant attitude left a sour impression. We will not be returning.
Margaux — Google review
Inexplicably cold and tasteless Sunday roast in a sparsely decorated cavernous room devoid of character or atmosphere. Staff seemed to try but this is one to avoid, particularly at £30 for a main course. No doubt summer tourists fall prey to the surroundings but there is a poor offering considering what it could be with some effort and enthusiasm. Better alternatives can be found nearby.

A quaint little tea room in the beautiful village of Brockenhurst. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had two scones. The cheese scone was very good, particularly the tomato chutney. I wanted to take a breakfast here and I had much expectation about it. It was good (maybe just good for me), but I wanted the wow factor! I am a big portions guy and... I had a hole in my stomach in the end. I mean, the flavour (again) was good but the dish was a little bit simple. That pastries and cake... That's beyond! I loved them, specially the scones! Don't miss them. The people are kind and everything is served correctly.

Lovely, quaint, quintessential country pub! Popped here for a bite to eat during lunchtime whilst visiting the New Forest. The pub has a proper country pub feel to it which I feel is lacking these days. Staff were very helpful and attentive. We ordered a sharing platter and a light lunch, with dessert. Loved coming here! Amazing food, fresh, tasty and just yum yum! Good service, everyone was polite and timely. The only reason for 4* and not 5* is because I feel like we need sharper knives to cut the pizza ! As well as that, the table was wobbly and we did request someone to help fix it which she said she would but I think she was busy and forgot (which is totally understandable!!) she was lovely anyway. The chef was fantastic, the layout is an open kitchen/ pizza oven, he was polite and friendly and it was nice to see the cooking and prep in action!! 100% would come again:)

Will always come back anytime we're looking for a nice, relaxed enjoyable eat out.

I can honestly say this is the best pizza I’ve had in the UK in the last 15 years! Being Italian, I’m always a little picky when it comes to pizza – but the flavours, the freshness, and the quality of the ingredients here instantly took me back home. A big thank you to Angelo, the pizzaiolo, who put such care into making them. We tried the mozzarella pizza and the mozzarella DOP with buffalo mozzarella, and both were just incredible – exactly the way they’d taste if you were sitting in a little pizzeria in Italy. And the prices? Very fair, especially when you consider the freshness and quality you’re getting. Do yourself a favour and save room for dessert too – the tiramisu is divine. The staff are welcoming, the atmosphere feels just right, and the whole experience was simply perfect. Thank you to everyone there for giving me a little slice of Italy in the UK.

Delicious Thai food in Brockenhurst in the heart of the New Forest. Food was delicious and flavoursome and the staff very accommodating when we asked for “Asian” level spiciness in the dishes. The sauce for the tamarind sauce was too thicky and saucy, the taste of fish sauce was over powering and the king prawns were VERY fishy tasting, meaning they were not fresh at all. My partner ordered the pad Thai, and the chicken tasted a little off also. Very disappointing. The guy working there was nice though and I hope they can get their chef to improve the cooking style. The fried squid was okay, it was less fishy tasting but not amazing.

What a superb restaurant! I really can't fault it. We were holidaying locally and fancied a change from the hotel's food and chose this lovely Thai restaurant. Upon entry, we were very warmly welcomed and then looked after very attentively; the young waiter was a real gent and it was a real pleasure to tip him. The food was absolutely stunning and so well presently. Prices were very reasonable and the ambience perfect. If we lived nearby, we'd go very often!

Enzee Brockenhurst Ristorante & Pizzeria is a family-owned eatery located in the village of Brockenhurst. This restaurant has a relaxed and modern atmosphere, offering a variety of Italian dishes such as pizza, pasta, and other classic favorites. If you are looking to start your culinary journey with traditional Italian and European cuisine, Enzee is the perfect place for you.
Had such a lovely meal, olives and arancini for starter, followed by the best lasagne and pizza. Staff were very nice and boxed up the rest of my main so I could have dessert - honey and lemon cheesecake which was one of the best I’ve ever had. The tiramisu was also very light and tasty! Didn’t feel rushed but staff were very well timed with taking our order and food being bought out. Had heat lamps in the conservatory area so we were nice and warm, really liked the fairy lights.

We visited this evening while staying locally at Carey's Manor, and we stumbled upon this charming Italian restaurant after leaving a few local pubs due to their lack of service and unpleasant atmosphere. What a find this was! The food was incredibly fresh, and you could tell everything was made with care. We started with bruschetta and burrata, both beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. For mains, we enjoyed delicious pasta dishes, perfectly cooked and topped with just the right amount of cheese. And, of course, we couldn’t resist dessert! The service was just as good as the food. Our waitress was lovely, attentive, and happy to recommend dishes. It made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Italian food in the area!

What a wonderful authentic Italian restaurant! Great selection of vegan options for my wife! She had the spaghetti aglio e olio which was super tasty and I had a meat pizza which had really high quality toppings. We were so impressed! It took a little while to get seated and get a table but they were fairly busy. We recommend you book. There was music but it was very much in the background. The building was nice and felt like it had a lot of history. We highly recommend this restaurant!

This is the second time this year we've eaten here, hungry after a long walk in the New Forest. My first experience was an excellent fish and chips. Most recently I went for the chicken and ham pie, with chips and veg. I can honestly say this was best pub meal I've had this year. You could tell the pie was home made, the veg was well cooked, and even the chips were amazing! The service was exceptional and we didn't have to wait long for the food. We'll definitely be back !

Nestled within the charming Fairweathers Garden Centre in Beaulieu, Steff's Kitchen is a delightful culinary spot that emphasizes fresh, local ingredients. The café prides itself on serving home-cooked meals, with many vegetables sourced from the nearby Patricks Patch. Families will appreciate the Little Rascals menu designed for kids, while adults can indulge in artisan sandwiches, meze platters, and hearty Sunday roasts.
Excellent range of cakes all made on site, they say. We had the chocolate and cherry cake and a fruit scone. The scones are huge, although a little crumbly, but good value for money as a cream tea. The breakfasts looked amazing, and we will come back soon to try it. Dog friendly, and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended.

Immensely good food! Had a handmade chicken and leek pie, new potatoes and fresh veg covered in delicious gravy. My Nanna had a welsh rarebit that was also great. There were no problems with any of the food; it was all fantastic. The service was a little inefficient, and the restaurant itself was very noisy and hectic, but I suppose that goes to show how good the food must be!

Went in for lunch on a very hot day. No problem getting a table for four inside even with part of the restaurant closed off. We ordered a mixture of meals and they all came quickly, the pizza was very nice all cooked onsite. Reasonable priced with everything for four adults coming in at just over £70. One down side we were plagued by wasps even though we were sitting inside, shame, they maybe need to put some wraps traps outside to attract them.

We stumbled upon Steff's Kitchen where we had one of the best, if not The Best roast dinners we've had! Everything was perfectly cooked and very very tasty. Good sized portion and reasonably priced. Polite and friendly staff too. Will be back to sample the extensive menu.

Lovely clean-looking spacious cafe with wooden beams and nice decor. The staff however didn’t smile throughout our time there, and made us feel like we were a bit of a burden just wanting to grab some lunch! They wouldn’t take our order at 11:56 (lunch starts at 12), and I understand bending rules is unfavourable however I am not sure why they couldn’t write our order down and leave it in the kitchen for a couple of minutes until kitchen staff were ready for the lunch shift. It just didn’t feel very friendly or welcoming. I couldn’t finish my soup as it was so salty (and I'm usually the one who adds salt to everything!) I’m sure someone had made a mistake in the kitchen, but unfortunately staff were dismissive and barely looked up at me while I tried to explain (so they could fix it for other customers). No apology and certainly no replacement or refund. Prices are also a bit silly. Adding “a slice of cheese” onto the bread you get with your soup would add an extra £3.10 to your bill. £3.10 for a slice of cheese! Oof.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable lunch here on Friday. It was busy but did not have to wait for a table outside. Visitors praise the excellent service and accommodation of dietary needs, making it an ideal spot for various occasions such as baby showers or family wakes.
Booked a birthday afternoon tea last Saturday with my mum and sister. From the minute we entered the cafe we were made to feel welcome and had a wonderful experience. Loved that there was a choice of afternoon teas so my mum and I opted for the savoury version and my sister had the sweet version. Everything served was very tasty, never had such large cheese scones and I want the recipe for the bacon chutney served with it. Overall I think it is possibly the best afternoon tea I have had and we ended up taking away what we couldn't manage to eat which we enjoyed the next day. Will definitely come back if we're in the area.

Been here a few times now, for either breakfast, lunch or a special occasion afternoon tea - and loved the food everytime! It always tastes brilliant, drinks are served in cute mismatched china cups and saucers. And the food is plated up nicely too! Staff are always friendly and helpful whenever I have been, which makes you feel relaxed. Atmosphere I think depends on where you're seated, the front entrance is definitely the cutest and cosiest with lots of natural light. Never had a problem with parking, although when a big event is on, it gets very busy! Would highly recommend this place 👏

We visited for breakfast having had a great experience when they previously hosted a family wake. What can I say - the food was excellent, the service was faultless and they couldn't have been more helpful. Mikey and Steve served us and every interaction was the perfect mixture of professionalism and friendliness. Despite being stuffed with food we were even tempted to take away one of their delicious looking cakes for later. Overall a great visit and we will definitely be returning when we're back in the area. (I enjoyed breakfast so much I forgot to take a picture)

It is delightful to come to this place. We will come back as we really enjoyed our day sitting outside in a wonderful atmosphere in a sunny day with an incredible experience eating and exceptional service from all the staff. The plates were different from other places, abundant and well served. We had cutlery disposed of after our order so we had what we needed, paper napkins and beautiful plates and trays where the food was served. It is a very nice back garden made with love, very cosy and sweet.

Great venue!! I recently had my baby shower in their marquee area in the garden, a perfect area for this type of event and we very comfortably fit 25-30 people in. We could decorate how we wanted and had a dedicated member of staff to take drinks orders. The afternoon tea was reasonably priced and was delicious, there wasn’t much left by the end! And anything that was left they boxed up for us. They even cut the cake up for me so I didn’t need to worry. Overall, such a beautiful venue, friendly staff and yummy food. Would highly recommend. Thank you Rosie Lea House 😀

Lovely lovely place, firstly it's in a beautiful setting and we were lucky to have a sunny day so we set in the beautiful back garden. Fantastic service, quick and funny, professional and very welcoming. The food that came out of the kitchen looked fantastic, so much that we said we are definitely coming again. We went for the cream tea, it was served exactly right (no butter and a strawberry on top) the tea was spot on as well and everything was so so tasty, I'm gluten free and so they made me a gluten free scone on the spot and it was lovely, everything was clean and the toilets were immaculate, my only comment is that they charge extra for milk substitute and that's very old school, saying that however they did provide up with a huge milk jug. This is by far the best cream tea place we went to and all 6 of us felt the same . The total came £48 , for all 6 ppl, so good value as well, next time we are definitely going for the royal tea! It looked fabulous 😍

For those with the four-legged friend, they even cater for those.

I’ve visited this restaurant 3 times now and never disappointed with the food and service. The waiters are extremely friendly and tentative, it can be rather quiet in there so it sometimes lacks atmosphere. Quite expensive, I had chicken tikka masala, pilau rice, saag-loo, one naan and one popadom. This came to £38 which I felt was a lot. And one thing I noticed in my last visit was they took away my popadom pickles and I witnessed them scrape them back into a new one for the next guest.

Amazing experience at The Terrace Restaurant. Easy parking at the restaurant. Waiters had good PPE kit on which is a huge plus. Great wine selection plus good value champagne :-) Food was just amazing. Quality and execution were spot on cooking delicious meal for my family. We loved the Hake and Lamb Rump. Hake was perfectly cooked and the highlight for the evening. Desserts were superb and it disappeared so quickly. My kids loved the strawberry dessert. We will be back again for sure.

Despite the good reputation I heard about this restaurant, my visit was mostly underwhelming due to the food. Nothing wrong with the good service and atmosphere but the food really doesn't live up to its price. From the tasting menu, quite a few of the courses were just rather salty if anything (next table also gave feedback about their dishes being too salty). The vegetarian menu had a course which was 'braised leek', nothing special about it at all, just a few cuts of cooked regular leek, quite disappointing frankly. The kitchen really needs a good look in the mirror and listen to the feedback from customers before slapping a big price tag on the menu.

We had afternoon tea with gin and tonic. We arrived late but the team were happy to accommodate us and still serve us afternoon tea. No one came to see to us - we were sitting out of the way and late. Really impressed that after this slight hiccup the manager came over to apologise. The service was excellent. The food delicious, especially the warm and fluffy scones. We enjoyed different treats overlooking a lush and cozy garden. Recommended.

Don’t let the pictures and website fool you. This restaurant is nothing like what’s been advertised. Some of the worst food I have ever had.
Carlo G — Google review
I used to work here 10 years ago, and it was disheartening to witness the significant decline in food quality and service. The news of their lost Michelin star piqued my curiosity, prompting me to investigate the reasons behind this downfall. Unfortunately, the person in charge of the service exhibited open rudeness towards us, setting an unpleasant tone for the evening. Our disappointment continued as we were served burnt and inedible bread, which immediately dampened our expectations. Furthermore, the fish dish we ordered lacked freshness and was disappointingly tasteless. The remainder of the food was neither exceptional nor subpar; it was simply adequate. It appears that The Terrace Restaurant has failed to keep up with the changing times, merely going through the motions of serving food rather than passionately believing in their craft. It seems that poor management and a lack of accountability are responsible for the restaurant's current state, relying solely on past glories to stay afloat. One cannot help but wonder how long this can be sustained. The only positive in this experience was the presence of two exceptional individuals who served our food, distinct from the aforementioned host. They were truly charming and friendly, providing a glimmer of warmth amidst an otherwise lackluster evening. On our trip to the New Forest we dined at the The Pig and The Elderflower, and they truly stood out in comparison. These establishments exude a genuine passion for good food and possess a clear perspective on how it should be presented and enjoyed. I highly recommend considering these alternatives over The Terrace Restaurant.

We visited here in January after my partner treated me to a spa afternoon at Senspa I’m the same location. The food was amazing and the chap that oversees the restaurant was very efficient and attentive. My only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 was despite my partner booking well before Christmas we had to wait to one side for10 minutes or so for our table which was a bit odd. But overall very nice.

Lovely food, had the sea bass for the starter which was done well and then had the lamb shank for the main which was great. The broccoli side was very under cooked and once the kitchen had closed the waiting staff seemed to disappear. They didn't charge me for the broccoli side which I appreciate but considering the price of the meal its basics. My starter arrived 5 mins after ordering and I had to ask for the main to come a bit later. I was told I could have 15 mins before my main which is fine but it came out after about 6 mins. The restaurant its self is delightful but I'm really disappointed in the service.

Lovely looking out to Cricket pitch and always seeing the ponies. We had a lovely afternoon sat outside. Plenty of seating inside and outside. And really lovely views. We did want food and asked waitress for Menu but she forgot in space of 2 minutes and this only part let us down. Rest of afternoon was lovely. The hotel inside is beautifully decorated and worth visiting. They do High-tea which looked really nice. To sit and appreciate the New forest in a lovely setting was exactly what I needed and made me realise even more how much miss home. I would definitely recommend here and be going again..

We had the wedding of our dreams! Everything was absolutely perfect - the gorgeous venue, the delicious food, and most of all, the amazing team who made us and our guests feel so welcome. So many of our friends and family commented on how fantastic the service was. The staff really went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and because of that, we got to relax and truly enjoy every moment.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service throughout. The food was really nice, both at breakfast and dinner, with plenty of delicious options. I’d asked to be put in a higher room, and they made sure that happened, which I appreciated. The location is lovely and made the whole trip even better. They also accommodated my last-minute changes, like moving my spa treatment, without any fuss - which is great by the way. Highly recommend.

Took my parents to Balmer Lawn for Afternoon Tea here. It is the only time I have visited and quite happily say that we will be back. Afternoon Tea was lovely. We couldn't finish it all and we were able to take the leftover cakes home with us. Unfortunately there was no photos taken as we jumped into the food. Decor was lovely. Staff were extremely attentive and polite.

We visited for a spa day. The spa seems to have been done recently, it was lovely, clean and quiet. We also had access to their indoor and outdoor pool. The jacuzzi is small and can only comfortably hold two people and there was two people hogging it all day so we never got to use that. However it was a warm day so we spent most of our day laying by the outside pool. They have a QR code you can use to order drinks to the pool which was handy, however it didn’t seem like anyone was working on it at the start of the day as it took 45 minutes to get a cup of tea and a pint of Pepsi. Also, I ordered a pot of tea but they don’t allow china by pool so I only got a paper cup of tea - felt a bit of a rip off at £4 for a small paper cup of tea. They started getting better at being on top of the QR orders as the day went on. We also ordered a pizza take away but after ordering they told us we couldn’t get it by the pool, even though other staff said we could so some confusion there. Apart from this we had a lovely visit and would highly recommend on a sunny day

Nestled within the charming Cottage Lodge hotel, White Tails Restaurant in Brockenhurst is a delightful culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Under the warm hospitality of Ramsey Hammad and the culinary expertise of Chef Matthew Spencer, guests can indulge in a menu brimming with dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Open from Tuesday to Saturday for 48 weeks each year, this intimate venue offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for couples or small gatherings.
Went to Cottage Lodge as a surprise for my wife as it was her birthday and our wedding anniversary. White Tails is the restaurant there. The food was fantastic, as was the service. Only 4 for the atmosphere as we were the first people in the restaurant at 6.00pm, but it improved as more people turned up.

This is an excellent restaurant, intimate but not cramped, and a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. We visited twice, whilst spending a few days in New Forest, and were impressed. The food is superb and very well-cooked. A first class menu and great service. We enjoyed it very much and can recommend without hesitation. We spent £50pp including gratuity, for 3 courses including coffee excluding wine. Suggest booking first because capacity is limited and restaurant is popular.

Had a fabulous dinner here. Amazing scotch egg and salmon cannoli for starter. For mains the sea bass and Lamb shank and to end the evening with the creme brûlée. 10/10 for the food. Feels as though you are dinning at a friend’s independent restaurant. Would highly recommend.

Was a surprise for my wife for her birthday and our anniversary. Food was fantastic. Service great. Atmosphere could have been nicer, but tbh it was probably because we were the 1st customer of the evening.

Really beautiful food. We had the scotch egg, the stroganoff (with beef), and the creme brulee and lemon roulade. Everything was super fresh and skilfully cooked, the portions exactly right. We also loved the atmosphere - from decor to music, and the host was very friendly and gave us recommendations. We felt very safe with regards to covid measures, and cannot wait to return and taste more of the menu! Edit: visited again yesterday to try both favourites and new (to us) dishes. Had the scotch egg and stroganoff again, as well as the pork loin main and goat's cheese starter. We also tried the cheesecake and bakewell tart. Eveything was simply exquisite, and Ramsey is always an excellent host. We hope to return again soon!

A warm welcome awaits you! My husband had steak and I had sea bass which were both delicious. Wonderful flavours. I recommend the Pinot Grigio Calasari. Our desserts were equally good, treacle tart and lemon meringue roulade. Thank you Ramsey for a very special evening.

The Turfcutters Arms in East Boldre is a charming traditional pub nestled in the New Forest National Park. It offers a cozy atmosphere with fireplaces during winter and a lovely beer garden for the summer months. The establishment also provides B&B rooms in a beautifully converted barn, including self-contained apartments with private entrances, kitchenettes, and bathrooms. Guests can enjoy fantastic seasonal menus and a wide selection of local drinks at the pub all year round.
Just had a fantastic stay. The rooms are lovely. My room had a very comfy double bed, there was a small kitchen area too. Plenty of space to hang this up, and the fan was welcome given the warm weather. Towels and some little bottles of shampoo/shower gel were also provided. The pub itself was also fabulous. Breakfast was a fantastic selection of cereals and cooked food, and a tray of fresh raspberries was also provided. In the evening the dinner was really lovely, the food is of great quality, all the dishes I had were a delight, and the beer was tasty with it. Service was absolutely perfect, even with a full busy pub, it was like I was getting personal service. If you're coming for dinner in the evening, do make sure you phone ahead to book a table. It was busy both evenings I was there (which shows how popular it is). Nothing to fault or improve. I shall be planning a return visit with the family.

Traditional village pub. Staff are very friendly. Food is amazing & good value. They do an amazing roast dinner on a Monday night. Ate here every night of our 4 night stay in the area, there was no need to hunt for another place to eat! Varied menu with daily specials, brilliant!

My wife and I dropped in for a drink late afternoon today. Nice looking country pub, lovely bartenders, our visit spoilt only by 2 apparently inebriated regulars, one of whom deliberately and audibly twice passed wind, once after reversing towards his drinking partner. As tourists we won't be back anyway.

Stopped off for a drink and ice-cream. Pub has a lot of character and staff were super friendly. Thevharden area had plenty of seats and dog friendly. Surprised by a bouncy castle being there along with a play area.

Great place, fantastic staff very attentive. The food is great and the grounds fabulous. The rooms are nice, not enough power points for charging phone. Also a car charging point would be great. The rooms are a great size, ours had views of the forest. They have a nespresso machine, very nice range of quality tea and FRESH milk in the fridge.

Just stayed for 3 nights and we had a lovely time. The staff are all amazing they could not do enough, they were friendly and very polite. The hotel was amazing and set in beautiful grounds. The only thing I would say was the swimming pool was a little shallow, not sure why it could not be a little deeper when they designed it, but it was nice and warm and very clean. The food was fantastic and we were bang in the middle of the New Forest, we will be going back for sure.

We had a two night break here and absolutely loved it! The hotel itself is beautiful and set in and around some gorgeous scenery. We did some lovely walks and even hired bikes to explore the area. We ate all meals in the hotel and all were delicious. Breakfast was fabulous, lots of choice and beautifully cooked. The sandwiches and cream teas at lunch were so good and both dinners were excellent quality with loads of options to choose from. We even managed a swim in the outdoor pool, had lovely spa treatments and truly felt relaxed after our 48 hours in the New Forest. I will say I saved the best for last- the staff!! Everyone was wonderful, nothing too much trouble and so helpful and kind. Liz on the reception was especially wonderful, as was Dan in the bar area.

Nestled among the trees of New Forest, Cambium is a British restaurant at Careys Manor Hotel that draws inspiration from nature. The name reflects its connection to the local area and its commitment to showcasing seasonal ingredients. The head chef's innovative menu focuses on regional produce, some of which comes from their own kitchen garden. In addition to Cambium, the hotel offers two other dining options: Le Blaireau with French cuisine and Zen Garden serving authentic Thai dishes.
Best British cuisine I’ve tasted! Everything was excellent from the fresh ingredients, the flavours of the dishes, and the chateaubriand was definitely a show-stopping dish! Perfect sized portion for 2 diners. The service we received from the young lady and gentleman also made our night a great dining experience! All the food was well-priced for the quality and care put into every dish. Will definitely be returning here :)

Lovely choice from the continental buffet and the cereals was great. The coffee on the first morning was great but very strong and bitter the second day. The eggs benedict and eggs hemming way were amazing but the buffet hot breakfast was a bit tasteless unfortunately.
Lee — Google review
Wonderful attentive staff, 3 of the four courses were divine, was let down by the king prawn and crab cocktail, slicing a king prawn in half, and couldn't see or taste the crab meat. Beautiful setting but not a lot of atmosphere sadly. And be careful with the request for non alcoholic drink requests. That could have been tricky. Thanks for a wonderful evening 😊
Maxine W — Google review
Priced like a fancy restaurant. We had the tasting menu, all ok dishes but nothing with wow factor, tastes all melded into one with dishes tasting pretty much the same. The wine selection wasn't too bad though.
Kimberlene L — Google review
I was expecting better for a 2 rosette restaurant, having visited a number of others. Perhaps I set my expectations too high. The starter and main were a little above average, not amazing, expected more. On a positive note though the servers were brilliant and attentive. The espresso martini pannacotta dessert was a 10/10 also.

The Master Builder's House Hotel offers luxurious and uniquely designed rooms with picturesque views of the river. The hotel features maritime-themed living spaces adorned with vibrant Indian fabrics, while the bedrooms exude a traditional rural ambiance. Guests can indulge in modern British cuisine at the award-winning restaurant, which prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients, particularly fresh fish from the area. Additionally, visitors can enjoy amenities such as a bar, free parking, conference hall, meeting room, and Wi-Fi access.
We had an absolutely fantastic wedding at the Master Builders House! This one-of-a-kind venue is a real showstopper, and all our guests were blown away by the stunning views. Although the weather the night before meant our ceremony had to be held indoors, it turned out perfectly—creating a warm, intimate atmosphere that felt really special. The food was exceptional (even our Michelin-starred chef guest commented on the quality!), and the whole team managed a seamless turnaround for the evening celebrations, letting us party late into the night. The atmosphere throughout the day was incredible, thanks to the amazing Master Builders team and how smoothly they worked with all our suppliers. Everything ran perfectly, and we honestly couldn’t be happier. A special shoutout to Chris, the venue manager, who was an absolute star from start to finish!

Make sure you ask if you're in the main hotel or the 'addition 'at the back. The rooms there are quite different with poor views and ambience. Staff are welcoming but the hotel does need some more attention to detail. The manager dealt with our complaint and I hope it improves. Good location for Lymington, Beaulieu and New Forest.

Had a really fantastic time visiting the Masters Arms. The staff were really nice and the food good especially seafood platter though the crudites were a little unappetizing. But the real reason for the good review is the location. Amazing setting by the river with some beautiful historic buildings surrounding it including a tiny church and a museum. All well worth visiting especially if with children.

We booked the Master Builders House for our wedding. We were mightily impressed with every aspect of our experience. This beautiful venue, steeped in history, provided a wonderful backdrop for a relaxed and supremely organised day. The wedding breakfast and canapés were of exceptional quality, those with dietary requirements were very well looked after. Food was delivered swiftly to the tables by capable and efficient staff. This is just one of numerous examples where the attention to detail elevated the experience. From transferring the bride to the ceremony room without being seen, to the unexpected gift in our bridal suite, all demonstrated the meticulous thought and planning by Lizzie and the team. The whole experience was a calm, smooth and professional operation.

We had our wedding at The Master Builders House in the New Forest in October just gone, and it was brilliant from start to finish. Lizzie, the events coordinator, was lovely throughout the whole planning process and on the day itself — so patient with all my questions, kind, and extremely organised. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every detail was handled perfectly. On the day, all the staff were brilliant and so professional. The bar manager was also incredibly helpful, and the catering team went above and beyond, even bringing breakfast to me and my bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding, which was such a thoughtful surprise. The venue itself is stunning, with beautiful views over the river and Bucklers Hard, big fireplaces and lounge chairs - the perfect cosy, charming, and warm setting for a wedding. The rooms were lovely, the honeymoon suite was gorgeous, and the food was fantastic, all of our guests commented on how great it was. Room turnarounds were seamless, and the whole day flowed perfectly. Thank you so much to Lizzie and the whole team for looking after us so well and making our day so special. You truly have a gem of a venue and an amazing team. I couldn’t recommend The Master Builders House more highly for anyone looking for an amazing wedding venue.

Commoners is a vibrant and bustling wine bar located in the town center, offering a friendly atmosphere and good selection of bar food. The place has a welcoming staff and a nice outdoor area to meet up with friends. Visitors can enjoy delicious pizzas, cocktails, and excellent food while being served by attentive and helpful staff members. It's also an ideal spot for watching sporting events on the big screen or enjoying some local ales on tap.
The Commoners Bar - in my travels, this would also be at home somewhere in Czechia or Germany. Stylish interior with industrial type lighting. Spacious with a great atmosphere. Welcomed by friendly bar staff member Lana from Ukraine, passionate. Setting up a bar-tab was no problems as we were sitting inside. High tables with high stools for 2 to 4 people, normal height tables too and comfy sofas in the front. Plenty of electrical points for those wishing to charge or use their electronic devices with free wifi. The bar, an impressive array of wines and top shelf. Cider, lager and a guest ale, Hicks, at 5%. Nicely chilled (but not too much) and not too hoppy. Looking at the menu, the prices were reasonable, not outlandish. Grazing boards, pizzas, something for the little ones, sides, buns and wraps. I opted for a burger that was served in a ciabatta bun and not brioche. Partner opted for ham, egg and chips. Both were exceptionally good. Our bill came in under £50 for drinks, sharers plate and 2 main courses. A rarerity round here. Definately coming back and suggest others visit too. Their drinks menu is one to read. Definately worth coming into this bar in Brockenhurst, relaxed, welcoming and not over-priced. Was very impressed their loos especially the disabled. Inviting and intriguing interior, lots of tables for parties of various sizes. I visited in the late afternoon and I found a table with no problem. I was very happy that the kitchen was open all day round, which was not the case in the pub down the road. The service was prompt and friendly. Unfortunately the food was not great, hence three stars. I ordered chili noodles which were way too oily and a Caesar salad which was made of lettuce, dressing and unseasoned chicken pieces - a bit spartan version and not presented very well. I wish to come back there for drinks only, to enjoy the ambiance without the disappointment of the foodstuffs.
Dorota A — Google review
The staff were super helpful, but the food was fairly standard pub-style fare. I’m not quite sure what atmosphere the owners are aiming for. There’s an impressive-looking selection of wines stored high up on a rack, but no wine list — the staff went out of their way to figure out what was available. It feels like it might be aiming for a wine bar vibe, yet the presence of a pool table gives it more of a local pub feel, and the slightly worn furniture adds to the mixed signals. Overall, a bit of an odd combination.

Lana was so helpful and welcoming, she even went to a nearby shop to buy ketchup for my husband's gammon and chips! We were here on a quiet Monday evening, and we watched our football match on a huge screen with good sound. Everywhere was perfectly clean. A great place all round.

The Brabazon Restaurant offers a convenient QR code ordering system, although it may not work for everyone. Despite this, the wait time for food is reasonable, with a 20-minute wait being typical. Families with children will find that the kids' menu is quite popular and satisfying. On average, a bill for four people including drinks comes to around £40.
We walked in at 12:30 but it was really busy so decided to come back at 2pm. We both had baked potatoes and both of us were extremely happy! Served quickly & tasted great. Also seems that management really help out, as ladies in blazers were cleaning tables & sweeping behind the bar to help their staff out
Natalie D — Google review
Terrible food and expensive. Ordered the £12.50 "Classic Burger", I assume it had been laying around somewhere for a while and mildly reheated, was solid very overcooked and cold, the chunk of pale tomato was bigger than the burger. I have never taken food back before, but this was beyond bad, I got a refund and went hungry. Wife's Mac and cheese was mediocre at best, the kids chips were petite for £4.50 each. The garlic bread was oily but at least edible. Near £50 for four of us with drinks. The server dropped the cutlery in my coffee, got new cutlery but didn't replace my coffee. The Mc Donald's on the way home was far far superior in every way, and less than half the price. Beaulieu was wonderful, the restaurant appalling. Next visit we are taking a packed lunch.
Rob X — Google review
It is a little pricy, but decent vegetarian options, decent sized portions, quick service, and a nice relaxed open environment. We had lunch, but cakes and hot drinks also available. (Operates like a pub environment for those wanting lunch.)

I don't like to give negstive feedback but the need was necessary today. Unfortunately our breakfast was stone cold. Fair play they didn't hesitate and replaced it. The only hot item on the second plate was the sausage and the lukewarm scrambled egg. I left the rest. Shame as the last few visits have been lovely.

Customer service at the till point needs huge improvements, you shouldn't expect a smile but at least a polite hello or simple acknowledgement that you're there would be nice. Coffees were overpriced, luke warm and flavourless. Beaulieu Motor Museum is a lovely place but this restaurant massively lets it down. Avoid and bring your own refreshments.
Anthony P — Google review
Food was very disappointing food was bland watery and very overpriced we did find out that any beef products contain 20% lentil. Also we paid extra for cheese that we didn’t receive
Geraldine S — Google review
Very disappointed with the customer service at the Brabazon Restaurant. When placing my order, the staff member at the till (pink hair) could not manage to take a simple order correctly. We then waited over 30 minutes for just two breakfast baps, while several other tables who arrived after us were served promptly. When I asked about our food, the response was unhelpful and dismissive, showing little concern for the delay. Eventually, after speaking to a senior staff member, our rolls appeared almost immediately — which only added to the frustration. The experience left me feeling that some staff here would benefit from better training in both customer service and order accuracy.

The Retreat is a quaint, inviting cafe and definitely a must visit in Brockenhurst if you fancy a delicious breakfast! We opted for the large English breakfast which arrived on a warm plate, clearly cooked to order (a rarity) and was presented beautifully! Excellent produce, from the golden yolk eggs, to the sausages and bacon from their local butchers. The baked hash browns were fluffy and mourish, all washed down with a cuppa! Great selection of homemade cakes- unfortunately we didn’t get to try any as we were full but looking forward to next time! Fleur and Paul were incredibly welcoming and attentive, you can see how much effort and love they both have put into their lovely cafe! They make a great team 🫖🍰🍳🥓☕️

Lovely little cafe. We sought refuge from the rain here and got a hot drink. The hot chocolates we ordered were lovely, and the service was also great. Very friendly bunch working here. Didn’t get a chance to try food here as we had already had lunch but the food menu looked good and the cakes also looked very appealing. Also bought some jars of locally made jams here as gifts.

Met up with 8 members of our family for a most-event get together. Terrific brunch style breakfast. All totally delicious served up in a lovely café with a great atmosphere and a very friendly team looking after us. Faultless. Highly recommended.

Very nice cafe in Brockenhurst. We went for a breakfast and they had a wide range of breakfast options available. I had the full English and my wife had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Both were very good quality and good portions too. Looks like they have some good lunch options too, so next time I'll try that. The homemade cakes and sweet treats look very good too, so definitely one to try in the future. Lovely service here and good baby changing facilities too. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Rhain's Diner is a delightful culinary gem that has quickly become a favorite in the area, bringing an exciting vibe to the local dining scene. With an experienced team of chefs at the helm, this diner offers a diverse menu that caters to both classic cravings and adventurous palates. The warm and friendly service adds to the inviting atmosphere, making every visit feel special. The restaurant boasts ample seating and maintains high cleanliness standards, ensuring guests can enjoy their meals comfortably.
Absolutely fabulous place - this is such a gem and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Staff are lovely, food is amazing, coffee is great, vibe is awesome. I noticed that it was spotless even though we visited on a really busy Saturday, and they were fast to serve, burger and fries were piping hot and completely delicious. This place would be perfect for a group get-together as they have a huge choice and it feels different to the normal UK eatery. Top marks Rhain, we’ll be back when we’re next in the New Forest!

Ate here yesterday and loved the atmosphere and decor. Had booked online, but the restaurant was quiet and was told we could sit anywhere and bookings weren't essential. I'd recommend you do book if you want to sit in the two larger booths for multiple guests. Son ordered the mac and cheese bites, a Ferrero Rocher milkshake and the Smokey Mountain burger. I had the Triple Cheeseburger. Son enjoyed the meal and milkshake. Mine was just OK. Glad to see that canned drinks weren't extortionate in price (just £1.20 a can). Service was good, but please note they only open until 8pm. Location is on a residential road and good to see locals using the place and supporting a local business.

Absolutely amazing service! The staff are well mannered and having an amazing energy. The place is very clean and the service itself is very quick. Food is unique, the chips and tenders have different taste to other places I’ve been to. Overall, 10/10 experience. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Beautiful restaurant with beautiful staff. Very clean. The food was above par! There's absolutely nothing bad to say about Rhain's diner! I wish this was near my house but then again, if it was, I'd be very fat and very poor each month haha! Family run business! Saf is a fantastic server, she is brains amd beauty! The chef/s know how to cook to perfection! The burger party's are spot on, hot the spot sooo much! Them Waffles too, omg! Well done to you all, keep up the amazing work, it's really paying off! I'd love it if you could reach out to some food reviewers on YouTube and get them to visit, it'd really give you guys a big boost in sales!

**Updating my previous 5 star review below because the nasty squishy veggie patty is back instead of the beyond burger. I won't be ordering again and so so disappointed. They were also out of chilli cheese bites so i had the onion rings and mac and cheese bites which were undercooked and disappointing** Absolutely perfect. The veggie burger option is now a beyond burger which I loved. Great service and quicker delivery than promised.

The hand dryers didn’t work in the toilets, and it’s on the more expensive side of fast food - about £35 for two burgers, loaded fries and sides, but not unreasonable for the quality of food. The burgers were the best I’ve tasted in a long time - all of the food we had wasn’t greasy and overly salty. You get what you pay for and this place really delivers. Food took 10 minutes and the service was fine. I’d highly recommend if you want to stop in for one of the best burgers in the new forest. It’s also an independent business so its food is actually designed to fill you up and taste exceptional. You can go walk the calories off on a lovely walk after!

Stopped off to grab a quick bite to eat. Flat white was delicious as was the chocolate milkshake. The food was served hot and came very quickly at a really reasonable price. Double cheeseburger was so tasty and not greasy at all. Proper smash burgers. Tenders were cooked to perfection. If we were local we would eat here all the time! Service was kind and friendly and our dog was made to feel welcome

So pleased to have found this place, it’s definitely added a much needed buzz to the area. The service is exceptional and I have always had a warm friendly welcome. The restaurant itself is very clean and has lots of seating. The food is all really yummy and the burgers especially are absolutely to die for. There are loads of great desserts from Gelato to crepes and milkshakes also really good coffee if you don’t have a sweet tooth. Would highly recommend this spot, you will not be disappointed!
