Bakery
Bao Bao Bakery & Cafe is a cozy spot in the heart of Boston's Chinatown, offering a diverse selection of Chinese buns, sandwiches, egg tarts, and pastries. Known for its Asian fusion baked goods, this bakery is popular for its custom cakes, creative pastries, and bubble tea. Customers rave about the pineapple and red bean buns, matcha roll cakes, and eclairs.
Amazing Chinese pastry. So good. Got a curry beef bun and matcha fluff. Not too sweet, savoury curry and matcha bitterness, all tastes just on spot in both buns. That add 50C on a payment with card under 10$, but okay, some other bakeries don’t let you even let you pay under 10. Recommendation!

Finally got to cross off a long-standing bucket list item: crepe cake—and I’m so glad I did it here. I tried the ube flavor, and it was everything I hoped it would be. Beautiful layers of delicate crepes with just the right amount of cream in between, and that earthy-sweet ube flavor that’s both unique and comforting. It’s a dessert that feels light, but still delivers that luxurious, melt-in-your-mouth richness. Just a heads-up for first-timers: the crepe cakes are sold frozen, so you need to give them time to thaw. It’s worth the wait. Once it’s ready, the texture and flavor really shine through. Bao Bao Bakery has a huge menu—everything from buns and pastries to bubble tea and savory snacks. But for me, the crepe cake was the standout. It’s not something you find often, and they do a great job with it. If you’ve never tried crepe cake before, or if ube is one of your go-to flavors, this is definitely worth checking out. Sweet, elegant, and a little different from your typical bakery desserts. I’ll definitely be back to try more flavors next time.

Gold macaron was my first time. Sweet and yummy! And other breads are soft and tasty.

Cute little bakery with some great treats. We had the Ube Crepe Cake (so so good) and a honey cake. Very enjoyable and would go back!

**Review: Bao Bao Bakery in Chinatown, Boston** I recently visited Bao Bao Bakery in Chinatown, Boston, and had a mixed but ultimately positive experience. While the staff wasn't particularly great, the quality of the bubble teas more than made up for it. We tried a few different flavors, and each one was really good and reasonably priced. In addition to the bubble teas, we enjoyed some delicious pastries. The variety and taste were impressive, making it a spot worth returning to. The bakery also has a nice sitting area inside, which made our visit comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, despite the service, the tasty treats and beverages at Bao Bao Bakery make it a place I'll definitely visit again.

I bought some mini mooncakes here for the mid-autumn festival. They had a lot of options. I got lotus paste, red bean, and green tea. Overall, the mooncakes were fine. Nothing super amazing but they hit the spot. I really liked the green tea one. It had a lot of flavor. I also had lychee green tea boba because of a coupon I received from an event a while back. It was good. Nothing amazing, just lychee boba. I might come back to try their other pastries just to see what the hype is all about.
Wren L — Google review
Pastries are relatively cheap but not as good as the pork buns you'd find in NY. I got the curry bun and classic pork bun and they were both just average. But, the little bakery is set up nice and cute and staff were quick and helpful. There's also no seating offered, so, y'all tourists will have to find a place to sit on the street or eat on the go.

Bakery
Levain Bakery has recently expanded its storefronts outside of NYC, including a new location in Boston's Back Bay. The bakery is known for its famously enormous six-ounce cookies in flavors like chocolate chip walnut, dark chocolate peanut butter chip, and oatmeal raisin. Visitors have praised the pleasant atmosphere and welcoming staff. However, some have noted that the pastries and cookies may be undercooked at times.
The outside of the bakery was very cute and when I went inside I immediately smelt the sweet aroma of the beautiful pastry’s. I ordered the oatmeal raisin($5.75), chocolate chip cookie($5.75), and a lemon pound cake($5). All of the pastries were nice and soft, the chocolate chip had the right amount of chocolate chips and melted in my mouth! The lemon pound cake is the right amount of dense and is moist. The oatmeal raisin cookie was good, but I wish there was more raisin in the cookie.
Kali — Google review
Personal opinion but these are the best cookies out there!!! I prefer the buttery cookies over the super sweet cookies, so if you want something super sweet … this is not your place. These cookies are so delicious and well worth the money. I love that they have gluten free cookies too. Not only does this place smell amazing, it’s always super clean and staffed with the friendliest souls on earth!!! I love these cookies and totally recommend stopping by here the next time you’re strolling Newbury Street.
Erin W — Google review
service is very fast and efficient making any size line move fast. if your lucky you can get your cookie still warm on the tray which is by far a better experience than one that has cooled to room temperature. either way your going to have an amazing experience. more seating would be nice as we ended up sitting on the curb outside.
Elizabeth S — Google review
I’ve been trying to have these cookies since 2021, I was in NYC in 2022 but at that time the line was insanely crazy. This time I was walking in Back Bay, Boston and noticed the small white bag with blue letters so I figured that a Levine was nearby. I rushed to the store it was empty at the time (kudos for that) the girl who attended me was extremely nice and she gave me a word of advice of which to choose. We grabbed a classic chocolate chip and a peanut butter chocolate. The presentation of the cookie is excellent, they look amazing, and I was excited to give them a try. We went to Commonwealth to eat them surrounded by squirrels and ducks. To give them the final verdict. It is a great cookie, it’s quite big, it’s crunchy from the outside and chunky and soft on the inside. The chocolate chip cookie is filled with tons of chocolate, so for any sweet lover that’s a go to. For me it was good but after just a couple of bites I was done (I’m not crazy about sweets) On the other hand, the peanut butter one was amazing, it has the perfect balance of sweet and salty, it crumbles but it maintains its foundations so it’s not a messy eating experience. This cookie was great. I would say if you’re a sweet fan you must try this place, and if you’re more like a salty/sweet person ask the crew about options that aren’t too sweet, they’re super nice and always eager to help.
Gerardo M — Google review
Oh my gosh! Where to begin! I am a huge cookie lover and with so many options to choose from I was in heaven! The cookies are excellent, crunched outside and soft gooey center. The service was great, so friendly and helpful. Beautiful storefront and loved the location.
Jody S — Google review
I always choose local spots for coffee rather than chains. Their coffee was perfect. Price was very decent for a large size, right around 3.50. I brought my own stash of sweet n low to add, since that's my fave sweetener. So glad that I stopped by. Will be back through when in Boston again.
Chasity N — Google review
I SWEAR BY LEVAIN BAKERY!! Whenever I’m up north I always find my way back here. Seriously they have the best oatmeal raisin cookie. Also they always have something fun for the seasons— like this spiced chocolate chip cookie for fall. Thank you always, Levain 🍪🍪🍪
Sophia K — Google review
Had heard about the chocolate chip cookies and was excited to try one. Worth the hype, warm and gooey with a ton of chocolate. My daughter loved the cinnamon brioche! We sat outside and had fun throwing some brioche crumbs to the cute little birds that clearly know to stick around.

Coffee shop
Jonquils Cafe and Bakery is a whimsical patisserie located on Newbury Street in Boston, offering a playful ambiance and specialty coffees, teas, cakes, and snacks. The cafe's food and drinks are reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland with added flowers and rich colors. They boast state-of-the-art brewing equipment including a Kees van der Westen espresso machine that has gained popularity on TikTok. Their geometric desserts are constructed using a 3D printer for an extra touch of creativity.
This place has really inventive pastries that are both tasty and visually beautiful looking. It completely elevates the experience of eating cake into something special. The Geometric Apple is a stand out but the Raspberry Pistachio was also delicious. Nothing was overly sweet. The cafe is clean with a decent amount of seating. Service was good, with some friendly staff members helping us out.
Osama M — Google review
Beautiful coffee shop with beautiful desserts and baked goods. The scone was very good, with a nice crusty edge. Coffee was really nice, smooth and great with cream. Not bitter and not too strong. The service was good, only one person in front of us, so not much of a wait. Lots of indoor and outdoor patio seating.
Jody S — Google review
I love this cafe! The seating is a little limited, but that’s to be expected in this area. The items are not only delicious but also beautifully presented, and the cappuccinos were excellent. I probably wouldn’t go here regularly because of the seating and location, but it’s definitely a fun spot to treat yourself or grab a special coffee/pastry. Worth checking out if you’re in the area!
Mia — Google review
I went for coffee with something sweet to this cafe and was surprised to see the dessert galore at this place. Everything was so artistic and eye catching, it was a tough decision but I decided to have the Raspberry Pistachio and it was like a burst of flavors in my mouth. I also got a strawberry rose to go and it didn't disappoint. The ambience is modern and clean. An awesome cafe with delicate desserts in Newbury St, not to be missed. X
Lisa H — Google review
We ordered the geometrical apple and the raspberry pistachio desserts, with black and green tea. They brewed both teas and it tasted so good and fresh. The desserts were out of this world. We specially liked the contrast between the smoothness of the mousse and the crunchiness of the cake layers, or the sweetness of the white chocolate layer of the raspberry pistachio with the sourness of the raspberry filling. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was so chill, with a nice selection of music.
Setareh K — Google review
Jonquils Café & Bakery on Newbury Street is truly spectacular. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels cozy, warm, and welcoming, the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at home. Everything they serve is absolutely delicious, from the pastries to the coffee, always fresh, carefully prepared, and beautifully presented. What makes this place extra special to me is the personal connection I have with it. Every time I come here, I am reminded of my very first trip to Boston with my mother as an adult. It was the first time I was able to invite her, to share those little moments together over coffee and something sweet, and that memory will always stay in my heart. Coming back to John Gil’s brings that feeling alive again, which makes it so much more than just a café for me. It’s a wonderful spot, not only because of the quality of the food and drinks, but also because of the way it creates lasting memories. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Newbury Street, you’ll find both amazing flavors and a truly meaningful experience.
Anie C — Google review
The desserts were picture perfect and had a great flavor. There was no wait for the food and the staff were nice. The seating was limited but the decorations were nice. Would highly recommend coming to try the desserts and drinks!

I visited this place twice in one week. Their pistachio dessert is out of this world, and the geometric apple-shaped sweet is a must-try. Enjoying it with a cup of matcha tea was the perfect complement. I’ll definitely be going back soon

We always get our kids birthday cupcakes here and the Party Favors team has done amazing variations over the years. A Solar system. The very hungry caterpillar and their wonderful animal designs. This is an amazing family run business and we are lucky to have them in Brookline!

Party Favors is truly the best!!! We needed a cake and dessert bar for our wedding that was safe for my husband’s peanut allergy. They went above and beyond from the moment we contacted them— from the tasting to the prompt email responses to the delivery to Maine— the communication was excellent. We planned our wedding out of state and I could not have been more grateful for Sarah and her team. Our cake was filled with lemon curd and fresh blueberries and had a vanilla buttercream frosting— it was unbelievable. They made mini fruit tarts, key lime tarts, brownies, chocolate mousse cups, and assorted cupcakes— respecting our requests for gluten free and dairy free options. Our guests RAVED about the desserts! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
Carly E — Google review
My husband and I both love The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, so we thought a hobbit house themed cake would be perfect for our joint birthday part. I called up Party Favors and spoke to Sarah who understood immediately what we wanted and said to leave it to them. We were absolutely blown away by the cake they created! It was so beautiful and incredibly detailed. And fun! They even made a tiny "No admittance except on party business" sign for the front gate. We hated to cut into it, but that's what cakes are for, and it was as delicious as it looked. Thanks to Party Favors for helping to make our party as special as Bilbo's 111th!

We ordered cakes and cupcakes for our boys’ circus-themed birthday party from Party Favors, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! Danny was fantastic to work with—friendly, attentive to detail, and really took the time to understand what we wanted. The cakes came out beautifully and tasted even better. So many of our guests commented on how delicious they were! Party Favors truly helped make our celebration extra special, and we’ll definitely be back for future events.

I ordered a custom cake for my brother’s 30th birthday and they nailed it! I asked for a bbq theme with hot dogs and burgers and the creativity displayed on the cake was above and beyond what I could have imagined! I will always get my cakes from party favors! Their display cakes are also cute and tasty if you’re in a pinch

We got our cake of our elopement from here, and the whole experience was amazing! Their cakes are truly amazing, and the staff is soooo nice! We truly loved everyone we interacted with, and they made everything stress free and fun for us! Will definitely be our new go to spot for special occasions!

I called 24 hours before I need 20 balloons and they did it and the balloons lasted almost 48 hours. I would buy at like star market and they deflate in hours. These ones I just popped because I ave another bday. But today 9-30.25 makes 4 days I had them. They was ok. So this is my new balloon baby laces it’s very pricey. Like 13 dollars more than most places but they last longer. So it’s worth it. Thanks!! My 11 year old loved all the balloons and the numbers are still up and look like I just bought them. So those are worth it to.

Cafe
Matcha Cafe Maiko is a go-to spot for matcha lovers, offering special treats like soft-served matcha ice cream and sakura-infused delights. The cafe's offerings strike a perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness, unlike the overly sweet drinks found in many American cafes. Despite long lines, the service is quick and the servings are impressive. The desserts here resemble those found in Japan, with just the right amount of sweetness.
Beautiful weather calls for a delicious treat! 🍦❤️ Nothing beats the perfect blend of matcha and strawberry ice cream. Plus, the wall art here totally vibes with my love for Japanese anime, especially One Piece! 🏴‍☠️✨Check out the amazing wall art while you're there! 🎨🤩

We stopped in for a refreshing boba tea and it was a great experience. I got the earl grey boba and my friend got the black and gold. Both were delicious! Be aware there are “boba straws” & normal straws, so make sure you get the right size. Bathrooms need a code from your receipt. This is about a ten minute walk from MFA and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

came in on wednesday afternoon for takeout. great matcha soft serve, helpful staff who was kind enough to let me have a cup so my soft serve didn't melt everywhere. saw lots of people here to study, meet with friends, and first dates (i saw two!) the only improvement needed is on the lighting and decor, but honestly it's still a great spot.
Duong L — Google review
I had the Bubble Waffle with Ube and Matcha soft serve mixed, I have to say it was a bit expensive. The staff were very nice and welcoming. The paintings on the wall were very cool.
Huseyin E — Google review
Long line and EXPENSIVE! I was excited to try this place, and I guess so was the rest of the city. Line went out the door. The cafe is small so the line inside also meant that tables were hard to get to and everyone was cramped. The soft serve ice cream is great quality, but if you order it with a waffle it’s $15. Which is insane. It also takes forever, almost 15 minutes after ordering when busy. After so much time the waffle isn’t warm either, so overall lackluster. Nice food. But at that price point I don’t think I’ll go back.
Diego S — Google review
Delicious!! Not a ton of indoor seating and no outdoor seating but it's near the Fens and is very accessible. The bubble waffle with ice cream was so good and they have interesting soft serve flavors and also boba ice cream sundaes. Worth the trip.

I visited Matcha Café Maiko based on a recommendation. I’m not a fan of matcha or these kinds of products, but I know many people are. For those who love matcha, I’d say it’s worth a visit. The products are high quality, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Everything was clean and well presented. It’s not really my thing, but I still recommend it for matcha lovers.

Matcha Cafe Maiko, the place to OG Matcha beverages and cuisines. I have been hearing a lot about the Matcha so I decided to give it a try and ordered a Matcha ice cream 🍦. Boy oh boy, it was one of the most amazing things I have tried in this place. The taste as well as the flavor was just top notch. The generosity of the staff amidst such crowded weekends definitely deserves applause. This place is highly recommended but be sure you arrive early as it is generally crowded.

Ice cream shop
The Scoop N Scootery, located in Allston, is a fantastic ice cream parlor known for its wide variety of ice cream sundae flavors such as Holy Cannoli, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Moose Tracks. A popular recommendation is to try the Cookie Monster with Oreos instead of M&Ms. The establishment offers a large selection and generous portions. Customers can conveniently order from a tablet at the storefront or pre-order online for quick service at the pickup window.
Scoop and Scootery is hands down one of the most creative ice cream spots around! Their flavor combinations are absolutely insane (in the best way possible), and every dessert is crazier than the last—in the most delicious way. Whether you’re in the mood for something classic or want to go all out with a totally wild sundae, they’ve got you covered. The staff is great, and the ice cream is next-level. If you love over-the-top, one-of-a-kind desserts, this is THE place to go. Highly recommend!

Great tasting ice cream and TONS of options! I got the Demogorgon which was super chocolatey and rich. The smallest size is still huge (and pricey) so definitely split with someone if you can. I would definitely go back and split the mini with someone easily. Their homemade whipped cream is also fantastic!
Alex I — Google review
This place is amazing! The staff is super friendly and patient, even when it’s busy. They let me try a couple of flavors first, and every one was delicious. I went with the brownie core sundae, and it was absolutely incredible — rich, fudgy, and perfectly balanced with the ice cream. The portion was generous, the cone and toppings were fresh, and the whole thing was worth every penny. The shop is clean, has a fun vibe, and you can tell they care about quality. Definitely my new favorite ice cream spot — I’ll be coming back often!
Connor B — Google review
I didn't know what to expect coming here. It's an efficient operation: order via a QR code on your phone or at the kiosk if it's available, receive via window. I was overwhelmed by all of the options, but eventually decided to go with Thick Mint. Supposedly "mini" size, but there are two full scoops of ice cream, a brownie, fudge and Nutella whipped cream. Overall the ice cream was nothing special. The chocolate was better than the mint chip (though I did like the chocolate chips in the mint -- they remind me of Ben and Jerry's). The whole thing was too sweet (my fault for ordering such a decadent option), and the two of us couldn't finish it. I probably wouldn't come back -- the sundae combinations are numerous, but the base ice cream that we tried wasn't anything special. If you have a sweet tooth, though, you'd probably love this place.

Eataly is an upscale Italian food hall that offers a variety of dining options, quick-service counters, and groceries. It was first established in 2002 and has since expanded to over 35 locations worldwide. The concept behind Eataly is to provide high-quality food, both prepared dishes and ingredients, in one location where visitors can dine, shop for products, and even participate in cooking classes.
While the originator may be a bum, Eataly is a great conception of an Italian food hall. Somewhat reminiscent of the grocery stores in Italy, there are some great products and prepared foods in this store. It can be very busy but it's a large store so it was fun to explore. Great for a meal or a snake.
Millie K — Google review
Eataly is ok. The food is pretty good, the service is good, and the setting is fine. For the price, though, I cannot recommend it. Even the taste of Napoli costs nearly 30 dollars a person for small portions of pasta without meat! There are many other options throughout Boston that serve better pasta for much cheaper.
Gardner R — Google review
Ok so let’s be clear here this place is not just a dining establishment…they have an amazing and authentic Italian market, which was incredible to look through. We got the pizza and a sandwhich and it was goof nothing special special but was a solid quick bite. I would say there could be some improvements to the service and also maybe like just ensuring that you get the freshest food - we were thrown off by some of the staff sniffing a container of meat sauce haha…would definitely recommend you stop in though and grab a sandwhich on their amazing fresh bread that is really the huge selling point here for us. AMAZING bread amazing ingredients.
James F — Google review
Eatly is a solid spot if you’re looking for a quick meal that still feels fresh. The food comes out really fast, which is great when you’re in a rush, though the flavors can be a bit on the bland side. Nothing bad, just not super exciting. The staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience much better. It’s clean, efficient, and reliable for a casual bite. If they added a bit more seasoning or boldness to the dishes it’d easily be a 5-star place.
Kaylah C — Google review
I was able to buy a gasket filter replacement for one of our bialetti moka pots here(on sale nevertheless)!!! This was my first time in an Eataly store and it brought me back to springtime when I was all up in Trastevere, Rome, Italy. I had a great time looking at stuff but eventually I want to visit the location in Vegas.

The food is good but expensive. I wouldn’t say it’s authentic. It’s just American Italian food with less oil and salt. We went in 1.5 hours before the closing time. The waitress acted like she wanted us to finish ASAP. The restaurant is very bright. Same vibe as a high school cafeteria.

If any managers are reading, please start tasting all the food once or twice a day. I've embarrassed the friends I brought praising your food and presentation. Cold pasta, pizzas that tasted leftover and reheated... Unfortunately, the waiter we told about the problem told us that this was the way it should be, which is another problem. I hope this only happened to us once. This is just a criticism, and it deserves attention.

Went to Eataly for lunch with my friend today. The place is so nice and very aesthetic. The waiter first asked us if we want bread and we said no, then someone brought us bread so we thought this is the bread that any reputable Italian restaurant usually gives for free to their guests. Well this was not the cause at Eataly and we ended up paying for that bread, that was cold, hard to eat and not fresh. As for the food, we had the lasagne and scarpariello pizza. The pizza was good but not that great. As for the lasagne, it was so bad. It was very dry on the inside with a spread of tomato within the dish. It should have come with bechamel sauce like it is written on the menu but I could not find nor taste the bechamel. So brought this to the attention of our waiter and he told us that this is how it comes with little bechamel. I told him that I did not like it and couldn’t finish it and he did not care. I don’t think anyone of management would even care about this review since they did not care when I mentioned that I did not like my food at the restaurant. No one even bothered to ask what was wrong to try to make it better for the future. I don’t recommend it and would definitely not come back. Boston is filled with great Italian restaurants and this place sadly does not make it to the list.

Restaurant
Oleana, located in Cambridge, is a renowned restaurant founded by award-winning Chef Ana Sortun in 2001. The warm and inviting interior or peaceful garden patio provide the perfect setting to enjoy inventive Eastern Mediterranean dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients. Oleana's kitchen has been a mainstay of the Cambridge dining scene and has received numerous accolades for its bold fusion of Middle Eastern flavors in small plates.
Every dish was amazing. We had previously dined at the sister establishment Sarma, and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Oleana did not disappoint either! We dined as a table of four and just shared a bunch of dishes. We left full and satisfied. The service was great, they were very concerned about making sure we knew there were no allergens in the dishes. Great Mediterranean flavours and incredible and affordable wine list.

Pretty pricy. Spent $100 for 2 people. They have a rotating menu but if its there, i would recommend the sultan’s delight. The short rib was super soft but not overcooked and too greasy. I thought everything else was pretty standard. Not bad, but not mind blowing or worth the price. The atmosphere and service i would say reflect the high cost.

The food and service were excellent. We maybe a little too close to our neighbor diners. We can hear all their conversations. I do recommend booking in advance. It was a full house by 7pm on a Friday night. I really love the garden salad and bake Alaska dessert. Those two items were really a unique take on something commonplace. All the other dishes were great too!

Oleana is a cozy Mediterranean-inspired small plates restaurant with a lovely ambiance and great service — but for me, the food overall was just okay. We ordered quite a few dishes to sample the variety, and while some stood out, others didn’t quite hit the mark. Zaatar Bread: The date butter that came with it was mind-blowing — honestly the best part of the meal. The whipped goat cheese wasn’t for me, but that’s more of a personal preference. Ricotta & Corn Dumplings: Very mild and soothing, but the texture felt a little sticky. Wouldn’t be my top recommendation unless you like that soft, sticky feel. Fatteh: Their best seller — and I can see why. Definitely a creative twist on the traditional version and pretty flavorful. Dark Leafy Greens: Cooked in a garlicky something that reminded me of an Indian home-style dish. Loved this one — comforting and familiar. Spinach Falafel: The beet tzatziki was nice, but the falafel itself felt gooey and undercooked. Baked Alaska: Got this to go since we were too full, but it’s apparently their star dessert. Midnight Ramble (cocktail): Too icy for my taste, but still refreshing and nicely balanced. Service was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and efficient. Parking is available right across the street, and the Central Red Line station is close by if you’re coming by train. We went on a Sunday night, and the only reservation available was at 8:30, which says a lot about how popular the place is. If you’re going with two people, I’d suggest starting with four small plates and ordering more if you’re still hungry. Overall, a nice experience, but for me, it didn’t fully live up to the hype.
Ramya A — Google review
We made a reservation a month ago. I was really curious to know why the reservation slots fill up so fast, and what all the hype is about. This place really lives up to its hype. Small, cozy and intimate setting, that serves robust flavours. I fell in love with each dish I had. For me, all the flavors blending in my mouth was a new experience. The different flavors were intense and balanced. The portions are small but they will leave your heart content. Our favourite was Sultan’s Delight and Vermont Quail Kebab, but the other three dishes we got were fantastic too. We’d definitely visit them again.
Chandan S — Google review
Za’tar bread and fatten were definitely my favorite. I enjoyed all the dishes. Especially the meat ones, wasn’t the biggest fan of their shrimp but seething else especially the baked Alaska and lamb were phenomenal.

I had dinner at Olena in Cambridge and was really impressed. The restaurant has a simple and unpretentious vibe — nothing flashy, just a clean and comfortable space where the focus is clearly on the food. It feels welcoming and calm, perfect for a relaxed evening out. We chose the Chef’s Choice of Vegetable Meze and Dessert, and it was absolutely worth it. A series of small, vegetable-centered dishes came out one by one, each well-seasoned and carefully prepared. There was a good balance of warm and cold plates, different textures, and interesting flavors. Even without any meat or fish, the meal felt thoughtful and satisfying. You could tell the kitchen puts effort into getting the details right. I also ordered a cocktail, and it was excellent — well-balanced, not too sweet, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The drinks menu isn’t overly long, but what they offer is crafted with the same care as the food. Service was smooth and friendly — present when needed, but never pushy. Our server explained the dishes briefly and kept the pace of the meal just right. Dessert was a few small sweet bites, not heavy, but just enough to end the night on a good note. I’ll definitely return. Olena is a gem for anyone who enjoys plant-forward food, great drinks, and a relaxed, no-pressure dining experience.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe in Back Bay offers a cozy and rustic atmosphere where visitors can enjoy breakfast, soups, sandwiches, and an assortment of baked goods. The cafe's Parisian-inspired ambiance is popular among locals who gather for house lattes with cardamom and honey or indulge in shakshuka and freshly baked challah bread, paying homage to the owner's Israeli heritage.
I know this is a chain and I usually go to small quaint coffee shops when I'm visiting a town, but this is definitely worth a stop! It was probably the best cup of coffee/latte I had on my entire trip to Boston. Their pastries and desserts are delicious! Really cool vibe on the inside and there is outdoor seating as well. I can't imagine you would not be able to find something that you would enjoy here. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or a late snack/ dessert. I highly recommend!

I have a gluten allergy so it was nice to have a breakfast option that included bread. Had the smoked salmon egg breakfast sandwich, absolutely delicious and fresh —paired that with an oatmilk latte. The hubs had the lamb hash, also fresh and amazing. We left with happy, full belly’s.

My husband & I are from Pittsburgh, PA. We decided to visit Boston for a weekend fun trip! As we were walking around downtown Boston, we stumbled across Tatte Bakery! The almond and pistachio croissant is what dreams are made of! We decided to get it toasted! To this day, we say it’s the best dessert, hands-down we have ever had!! If you’re ever in Boston, you absolutely have to visit this bakery!!! It’s out of the world !!! We’d give it 10 stars!!!

We stopped in during our trip and were instantly hit with the smell of fresh pastries- it was warm, cozy, and so inviting. The place was super clean, and the outdoor patio was adorable. The breakfast sandwiches tasted really fresh, and the pastries were delicious. We tried the pumpkin latte special too—it was just okay, but the overall vibe made it worth the stop. Definitely glad we swung by.

Lovely breakfast place, great variety of pastries but also hot food. I came on a Sunday and it was very busy managed to get a seat at the bar as I was alone. Back again on Monday and it’s much quieter. The overnight oats are delicious! Will be back everyday whilst I am here for work for the UK.

This place had a huge line which after waiting 10 minutes to order I was excited. Their food presentation was quite nice, it’s definitely too bad the flavor wasn’t a match to the appearance. The chocolate muffin looked awesome but it was totally dry inside. The pumpkin pie and pecan dessert were equally disappointing as they looked so good. Overall maybe I ordered the wrong things or this place has good coffee but it was a big disappointed for me.
Coach T — Google review
We were staying a block from here, decided to pop in and great choice! It was tough to choose because everything looked so good but we weren’t ready for a full breakfast. We chose a chocolate and almond croissants. The chocolate one had perfect amount of chocolate as did the almond. Caramel latte and strawberry tea refresher which was a tad too sweet but both were good. I wish we lived closer, I’d be there often.
Christol S — Google review
Everything was delicious! I especially loved the pistachio croissant paired with a pistachio latte. Not sure if it’s possible but if I went back I would ask for the pastries to be heated up. Went with the shakshuka which is a Northern African dish. It had a lot of parsley and wasn’t chopped as finely as I thought it should be, but still overall tasty. The restaurant is packed during busy hours (8-10am) so you’ll have to scavenge for a table.

Myers+Chang is a trendy diner in Boston, known for its creative and upscale Asian-inspired small plates served family-style. Founded by culinary power couple Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers, the restaurant offers a fusion of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisines. The menu features a wide array of flavorful dishes at affordable prices, with popular items like braised short rib tacos, tea-smoked spare ribs, peking dumplings, and braised pork belly buns.
Phenomenal food and fantastic service!!! Highly recommended for vegan/vegetarian!🥰 As a party of two, we greatly appreciate the small sharing plates so we could try out different dishes. The Brussels sprouts and Sichuan sliced beef are the spotlights of the night! Our server was super attentive with great recommendations!! Besides our main server, the whole crew includes the hosts were chiming in to fill up our water and clean up dirty dishes. That's what make it a 10/10 dining experience! The place could get busy, reservation is highly recommended, especially for bigger party.

I went there for brunch. I got there right when they opened and I was the first customer. They were out of their signature shrimp toast which is really why I went but it’s alright. Then I proceeded to order half the menu. MUST GET: tea ribs, papaya salad, mussels. They were all so innovative and delicious. The papaya salad is very authentic to something you would see in Thailand and is an excellent example of introducing people to authentic Thai food. The dumplings were complete raw on the inside and burnt in the outside when u got them, I told the server and they took care of it and apologized and they were pretty shocked how raw they were, as was I. The flavor was not good either in both of the dumplings. The carrot cake is one of the best I’ve ever had, moist, cream cheese forward, and not overly spiced, 10/10. I also got the Dark Wuyi oolong tea which was wonderful and generous. The ambiance was not great, the bus stop is about 4 feet from the floor to ceiling windows, full of litter. I ought to try their dinner some time and not sit by the windows. Oh and their wines are good!

Okay, so I enjoyed my dinner here, the service and atmosphere was great, but…to be truthfully honest about the food, I wasn’t quite a fan. We got the pork + chive dumplings, dan dan noodles, Brussel sprouts, and the yuzu cider beer (all of this split two ways was $45 - kind of on the pricer side as well). This is how I would rank the dishes: 1) Brussel sprouts 2) noodles 3) dumplings. The dumplings had a bit of a sour aftertaste & the noodles were so overpowering in seasoning/taste, so maybe this was a bad dish combination overall? For anyone going here, I would recommend the Brussel sprouts & the yuzu ginger beer, but maybe try another noodle & dumpling combination.

I love the halvsies menu! From now on, I’ll come here every time I’m in Boston cause it’s that good. My favorite was only the sweet and sour Brussels sprouts but truly everything was great. Kevin was my server and he was so welcoming. I can’t wait to return!

Food - 2/5 Service - 2.5/5 Ambiance - 4/5 Ok so I remember coming to Myers and Chang a long time ago post SoWa and really liking it. Cue me 5+ years later with a guest in town and deciding to take a chance! Unfortunately, it was a bad gamble. I should have listened to the other reviews! We ordered four items to share for two people (what they recommend), and the only pro is that it was definitely more than enough food. We got the hakka eggplant, the wok charred udon with tofu and bok choy, the tea smoked pork ribs, and Thai pork lettuce wraps. It was ALL bland and lacking seasoning, so we requested salt, pepper and something spicy, which did help but was disheartening when you're out at a restaurant - we want food not ingredients! My guest at one point mentioned that some of the eggplant pieces didn't just taste a little bland but also a little raw and undercooked. To her, the pork ribs were basically a bland "block of meat" and there was not enough sauce at the bottom to dip it on. The only item that required minimal doctoring to us was the lettuce wraps because it came with a side sauce. (But no veggies? Just lettuce and pork meatballs and a handful of herbs? Sad.) It's also frustrating when this is a fancy Asian fusion place where the rice is not included and is a separate charge because then the food better be good to make up for that! Other issue was the service: I am not blaming our waiter Jake as the restaurant seemed understaffed but there were a few instances where we had to ask multiple times for things or a food item would be dropped off without a chance for us to ask for anything (serving spoons, chili oils or sauces, etc). Multiple times the food went cold because something we asked for hadn't arrived or we had to catch someone's attention to ask for it again. We packed most of the food as leftovers because my plan is to doctor the food and make it much better, and so we went home and ate something else. TLDR: Think of going to Myers & Chang as paying for an ingredients meal! I'd rather walk to Chinatown and have better food with maybe a less nice ambiance. If you love Asian food and need a blander diet, this is the place for you. Otherwise, steer clear.

Alden & Harlow is a subterranean restaurant located near Harvard, offering a rustic-chic ambiance and serving creative New American cuisine along with cocktails on tap. The menu features unique dishes like pickled corn pancakes, basil pasta with carrot Bolognese, and a sought-after 'secret' burger.
We had a great dining experience. From the food, to the service and atmosphere everything was top notch. The family style dishes were filling and very flavorful. I would say that for 2 ppl, 3 dishes is more than enough. We didn’t have room for desert. The drinks looked great; and the non-alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced. Would definitely go back there!!

Among the best food in Boston… with lemon ricotta pancakes that are life changing and really hit the spot for brunch. Shockingly not crowded even on a popular Sunday! How is this possible? Pricing is on the higher side, sure — but it’s worth it and portions were large. Dinner may not be the same story. We ordered across the menu and didn’t have a single un-devoured item among the lot. Desserts are decadent and could honestly stand to be less luxuriantly sweet, but the savory dishes were stellar throughout - although I’m going to break my own rule and say the sweet\savory pairs especially the pancakes and French toast were of course the best of the whole selection. The crispy potatoes… incredible! “60 degree eggs” run a bit soft so request a higher cook temp for those if you can. Try the steak+eggs Benedict too; those were another stand out. Burger was solid. Sandwich was solid. Nothing too fancy from the greens alongside, could have used more color there perhaps? A little tomato and feta? Outdoors can be WINDY so be aware. It was a little annoying but nice and secluded behind the venue. Indoors is cozy, darker, pretty standard for the area. Service is friendly and attentive. Do not miss this brunch! Bring a jacket if outdoors though. Would love to see heaters installed in this area. Portions are plenty big. The idea of 1-2 per person is generous and contributes to the high cost some reviewers cite. Maybe this is a bit different during dinner. Most folks will find one dish is enough but it can vary from dish to dish. Pictures will be helpful here so check those out.

I haven’t been to this beloved brunch spot in quite some time largely due to the persistent challenge of securing parking, but it has remained one of my perennial favorites. On this return visit, we ordered the farm vegetable shakshouka and the French toast with roasted strawberry and rhubarb, and both dishes reaffirmed why this place holds such high esteem in my memory. The farm veggie shakshouka was a standout. I deeply appreciate that they offer a vegetarian version of this traditionally egg-centric dish, and as the name implies, the vegetables were impeccably fresh. More than just an assortment of seasonal produce, the vegetables were thoughtfully chosen and well-textured, allowing them to stand up to the richly spiced tomato base without being lost in it. The balance between the earthy sweetness of the vegetables and the warming acidity of the sauce demonstrated a nuanced understanding of the dish's North African roots. The French toast with roasted strawberry and rhubarb was equally exceptional. The fruit, rather than being an afterthought or garnish, was roasted to intensify its natural sugars and deepen its flavor. The strawberries brought a bright, almost jammy sweetness, while the rhubarb offered a subtle tartness that cut through the richness of the toast with elegance. Together, they created a vibrant interplay of flavor and texture—a true celebration of the season’s best. This meal reminded me why, despite logistical inconveniences, this place is well worth the return.

We started with the morning fog drink and coffee. Coffee was smooth, drink layers of flavors amazing. We started with the side biscuit and it was amazing and the homemade butter perfect. We split the focaccia egg sandwich and French toast between us and had plenty left over. French toast was not too sweet, greens on the side of the sandwich and the sandwich was incredible. What a great chef!!

Ive been a few times during brunch. Once in a group of 2 and another a group of 7. Both times I reserved in advance which was especially necessary for the group of 7. The back patio is lovely during the warmer weather, otherwise, I like inside under the skylight. The interior of the restaurant is dark and has a dimmed light atmosphere which isn’t my favorite for brunch. The Montecristo sandwich was really great as was the focaccia egg sandwich. The bravas skillet is 90% potatoes so I’d only recommend for potato lovers.

The chicken fried rabbit was slightly overpowered by the blue cheese, Duck pierogi could’ve been better with less dough, for the steak, the meat was sort of chewy although the color for medium rare was correct. I enjoyed all these dishes though and the ambiance was perfect and upscale. Would come back ❤️

Harvest is a long-standing restaurant in New England that offers contemporary seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The open kitchen allows diners to watch the chefs at work, and the restaurant has recently been redesigned to include fireside dining. In addition to its indoor dining area, Harvest also offers a private Garden Terrace for outdoor dining during warmer months. The menu features a variety of seafood dishes, including lobster bisque and locally sourced raw bar options.
I have never been here before and was invited to a wedding. The restaurant set back from the street, which is nice. The back room is quaint and isolated from the main dining area, which is wonderful for a private event. The beets & Goat cheese was fresh and mouth watering, just perfect. The potato soup was good, I prefer it a little thicker and more bacon in it. The main course I chose was steak, and it was cooked perfectly but it was not very warm ( it’s hard for a large number of people I understand). The steak came with a bed of mashed potatoes and green beans, which were both delicious. I will definitely make it back for a family dinner, the food & experience overall was great.

The service by Ruben was excellent. Went for Sunday brunch. Sourdough toast under the eggs Benedict was old on my order, burned on the other order in my party. This restaurant would be better for a regular lunch or a dinner. I feel like brunch is what they didn't sell all week. Dessert was spectacular!

This spot is always a favorite — if not for the food, then certainly for the atmosphere. The service is consistently impeccable, and the menu offers a wonderful range of choices, from vegetarian dishes to meats and fish. On this visit, we started with the salad topped with goat cheese croquettes, which was divine, and the roast chestnut agnolotti. For our mains, we both chose fish — the swordfish and the halibut. The swordfish was excellent, though the halibut was just slightly overcooked. I continue to enjoy going here but because it is pricey it is only for special occasions for me.

Pretty good place, duck and chicken were okay, but not great. Gnocchi was too soft. Potions were very small especially the ice cream. Service was strange, dishes came out right away and we felt rushed but there were very few people there. Did they not want us? Felt very overpriced in the end.

Solid dining in an upscale space (4 stars). But taking away one star for a (big) pet peeve of mine that Harvest was guilty of - high end restaurants charging premium prices for glasses of wine should bring out the bottle and pour at the table - if you're charging me $30+ for a premium glass of wine and boasting about your Wine Spectator designations, then I should get to see the bottle you're claiming to pour.

The place is hard to find bc it’s not in the street but in an alley where cars cannot pass. We arrived early so had drinks n fries while waiting fur rest of the party to arrive. The fries were sauggy. The seafood tower at $125 is not worth it. It’s very good presentation. The oysters n shrimp are good but the muscles were bland. I guess I like them in a broth smothered in butter n garlic Better off getting dz oysters n shrimp cocktails sep. the lamb was great n the pekin duck was great. The desert crème brûlée was great. The wine was superb. Our server Jacob was friendly, courteous n attentive which I always appreciate. We had a great meal.

I truly am in AWE of the desserts! The Mango Petit Gâteau with champagne mango, lime cake, basil cous cous was such a unique mix of flavors and textures that somehow felt like “why haven’t these always gone together?!” It was meant to be! I also had a pot of MEM tea and Charcuterie. Humbolt Fog, Mimolette, chicken liver mouse, and country pate were all new to me! So fun! Loved the cheeses. Not too fond of the liver. The establishment also serves up savory specialties such as shawarma sandwiches and baked feta adorned with rhubarb.
This place was recommended and after receiving a gift card I went with my mother to check this place out. While pricey, if you’re willing to cough up some cash it is well worth the money for the quality you will get from this food. We had ordered the Turkish style breakfast which had a soft boiled egg wrapped in an ingredient I do not know the name of but it added crunch and mild sweetness to it. There were cucumbers, olives, tomato that was mashed and sweet yogurt which was topped with seasonal spoon sweets. You can refer to the image but this was one of my favorite things with the blend of refreshing vegetables that were light and paired with sweet creamy substances. It was filling yet not overbearing. Geno’s egg sandwich was worth the getting my hands messy as the egg was cooked just enough that the yolk broke upon first bite adding extra flavor that brought out the halloumi cheese and tomato concasse. The granola bowl was another favorite being served in Egyptian carrot jam and labne that made it stand out compared to other granola bowls. We had purchased the Turkish coffee which we felt was decent but not as good as Andala coffee houses especially when comparing price and value. The desserts were the date almond ma’amoul and chocolate tahini tart. The tart was smooth, rich and not overly sweet compared to the breakfast Items which was a nice change. Lastly, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The music was middle eastern and not so loud that you could not have a conversation.

Wow the flavors here are so fresh and unique!! When we entered, I was skeptical, but the food was so good and like nothing I've tasted - admittedly I don't eat at meze places super often. The chicken wings (date molasses bbq and lemon herb on top) were SO good, the flatbread and shawarma tasted different from any other place bcus of the filling. The shakshuka came with pesto which was jnteresting. Highly recommended. There's not a lot of seating and it's a free for all so don't come with a group expecting to sit.

L.A. Burdick Handmade Chocolates is a charming artisanal chocolatier with locations in Back Bay and Harvard Square, offering high-end chocolate, pastries, and hot cocoa. The shop and cafe are known for their natural ingredients and fragrant chocolate used in artisan pastries. Their bestsellers include the chocolate raspberry cake made from Venezuelan chocolate with hints of dried fruit and nuts, as well as the Earl Grey mousse cake infused with tea aroma and blueberries.
Stopped by L.A. Burdick in Boston and wow—what a cozy little chocolate haven. I had the spicy hot chocolate and it was thick, rich, and had just the right kick. Also grabbed a chocolate mousse cake—super light and fluffy, perfect with the drink. Definitely coming back when I need a sweet fix!

Unbelievable! So good we stopped in for a sipping chocolate and a pastry on the way to dinner as they would have been closed after dinner. Highly recommend stopping in, they are clearly master chocolatiers. You can even take home a 5 pound bag of one of their powdered sipping chocolate mixes for $173 - see the photo and enjoy the magic in your own home. For those of us on a more limited budget you can get a much smaller bag of sipping chocolate mix or choose from a HUGE variety of chocolate bars. Can’t wait to go back!!

We got three drinks and found all of them to be too sweet. Which makes sense for Chocolate drinks but I wish there was a way to customise the sweetness. We also got three desserts and the total bill was around $54 which we found to be a little pricey! Hard to find space to sit but they have restrooms! What we got - 1. Dark Chocolate Iced 2. Milk Chocolate Iced 3. Single Source Chocolate Iced 4. The Georgetown (Pretty normal) 5. Vegan Apple Pie (Didn't like it at all!) 6. Passion Mousse Cake (Interesting but felt like the different flavors didn't really complement each other)

I’d been wanting to try the desserts here for a long time since I’d heard so many good things from friends. Finally made it to Boston and this was our first stop. The place itself is beautiful and I loved the way everything looked inside. Unfortunately, the service really disappointed me — the guy taking our order was incredibly unfriendly, which immediately killed the excitement of trying the desserts. We ended up getting two cakes, which were tasty but nothing mind-blowing. Overall, not a bad experience, but it definitely didn’t live up to the hype.

What an experience with the spiced hot chocolate we got here. Our blood was instantly infused with chocolate and we enjoyed the store chocolates and the ambience. Unless you are big on hot chocolate and can drink heavy chocolate, small is enough for anyone wanting to enjoy this place.
Anshul G — Google review
The milk drinking chocolate was so delicious. The chocolate flavor was rich and the milk flavor was strong. Although I am a dark chocolate lover, the single origin dark chocolate was wayyy too rich. It tasted like drinking melted chocolate, which sounds lkke it would be good but it was thick almost like sludge and so sweet and rich, even though it had that bitter dark chocolate flavor. It made me feel like I fell into the pool at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Next time I'll try the regular dark drinking chocolate.

I really enjoyed the white hot chocolate, it was smooth, sweet, and comforting. The La Burdick mocha, on the other hand, was a bit too bitter for my taste. Overall, a nice spot, but I’d definitely stick with the white hot chocolate next time!

Diner
Bar
Rosebud Indian-American Bar & Kitchen is a reimagined American restaurant that offers chef-driven dishes and handcrafted cocktails. It has been recognized as one of the best diners in Massachusetts, alongside other iconic diners in the state. Located near Davis Square, it stands out as a restored Pullman diner with a unique ambiance. While its food may not be exceptional, the experience of dining in a historic setting adds to its charm.
Rosebud has been a historic staple of Somerville for several years. Originally built in 1941, it has recently gone through some changes with the new owners attempting to add a South Asian flare to the traditional diner cuisine Rosebud is renowned for. Prior to the changes, I had gone several times and had an excellent experience between the food, service and atmosphere. Since its changes, there have been 2 dining experiences I have gone with a group of 3 others with. Initially, the food was underwhelming such as the hollandaise sauce on the eggs benny that were ordered as well as the masala chai french toast although the waffle order was satisfying. Aside from that, the additional berries cost $3 yet provided literally 2 berries. There were some other issues like the door being held open for a long period under frigid conditions (apx 30 or less degrees) to the point customers began putting their winter jackets on and complaining. The drinks on the other hand were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. After speaking with the owner/manager, they had invited us to return for another experience with a discount after overhearing our qualms and concerns. Upon return, the additional berries option was removed from the masala chai french toast and I found the food to be absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the drinks did not disappoint at all just like the time before. The Tandoori steak frites, butter chicken pot pie and the Ros omelette were the dishes of choice this time around. The tandoori steak frites had a nice flair to it due to the makhani sauce. While I personally felt it was a bit overcooked (I like my steak rare), it was not overcooked to the point it was inedible at all, but closer to medium/medium well. The butter chicken pot pie had a wonderfully flaky crust and a warm, moist, perfectly seasoned butter chicken that while delicious in the summer time, reminded me of waking up on a brisk morning and taking in the first sip of hot coffee to warm myself up. The Ros omelette had a curry that a spice blend that was a perfect medley of indian spices and minced onions that complimented an omelette so well that I think I'd like to eat my omelettes like this moving forward. The new Rosebud has overall been doing excellent with taking feedback to improve, and maintaining aspects of the old Rosebud charm while adding its own flair to make it unique, would recommend trying it out!
Ashraful R — Google review
Rosebud has a charming diner ambience that sets a cozy and inviting tone, which we really enjoyed. The cocktails were well-crafted and refreshing, though our server seemed unaware that Tajin was available for the spicy margarita, which was a bit disappointing. The food, however, didn’t quite hit the mark for us. As a fusion Indian-American restaurant, we expected bold, vibrant flavors, but the dishes lacked the punch and spice we were hoping for. The Kerala fried chicken, for instance, was dry and less flavorful compared to the Nashville fried chicken you’d find at local Boston pubs. The avocado toast, which mentioned green chutney, came with only a hint of red crust and didn’t deliver on the promised flavor profile. While the concept is interesting, the execution needs improvement to truly stand out. With some tweaks to the spice levels and flavor balance, Rosebud could be a much stronger contender. For now, it’s a decent spot for drinks and ambiance, but the food needs to catch up.

I had my 50th birthday day grease party theme at this diner and it was fantastic. The food the staff the manager. You won't regret it. Here are a few pictures. Diner food with an Indian kick. Great spices on the food.

We enjoyed Sunday brunch in the charming street-side diner section. I ordered the Tikka Tots with Diced Chicken, while my daughter chose the Masala Chai French Toast. Both dishes were flavorful, inventive, and fun twists on traditional diner fare... so good that we ended up swapping plates halfway through! A small heads-up: the Tikka Tots might appear under “light bites,” but the portion is delightfully generous. 😉

Loved the ambience and the concept of Indian food slightly altered for the American palate. Had very high expectations. But honestly, wasn’t pleased with the vegan/vegetarian options when Indian food has so many. The dal hummus was basically cooked dal with a few thin fulka slices in the name of rumali roti. No match for actual hummus one would savor to the last bit or to rumali roti we so love. Garlic naan or tandoori roti would’ve been so much better. The avocado toast too had much scope for customization/‘healthi’fication but was disappointed to get a very basic avocado toast comparable to dunk’s just with some green chutney for a much higher price. The chai was overly priced as well. I ended up ordering a bunch of food but didn’t feel satiated at all. Not a place for vegetarians. Bit of a loot.

Americanized Indian spot with fun fusion dishes. We liked it. The Kathi roll was great and the butter chicken pot pie was delicious. The bhel puri was the best of everything we tried. The grilled chicken mousse sandwich was okay, and the street fried noodles were okay too. Overall, good food and I’d come back when I’m craving Indian flavors with a twist.
Rithvik — Google review
Who could have thought to put Indian street food and American diner classics together? My friend and I were wandering around the area and were just too intrigued by the concept to pass it by, so we popped in for a late Sunday lunch. The restaurant definitely felt like a classic American diner, with old-fashioned booths and stools, but with an Indian twist. Our server was also super friendly and gave us a slew of recommendations, of which we eventually chose three to split: the vada pav, masala omelette, and French toast. Each item was quite tasty, but seemed to lean more heavily into the American diner cuisine versus Indian half of the fusion. The vada pav was the most classically Indian, and included a giant fried potato ball sandwiched into a slider roll. The rolls were pillowy, soft, and slightly sweet, which went wonderfully with the spiced (although not spicy) potato balls. The potatoes were hot and very soft in the center, but they had a wonderfully crunchy outer shell. It was the perfect little bite of street food before our omelette arrived; it was a pretty standard omelette, but covered with a lovely, rich curry sauce. The eggs were a smidge overcooked, but the creamy curry helped to counterbalance the slight dryness in the egg. We finished our meal with the French toast, which felt far more like classic French toast vs. the spiced version the menu promised; however, it was still plenty tasty.

Clear Flour Bread is a beloved bakery located in Brookline, known for its traditional French, Italian, and German baking techniques. Established in 1982, the bakery has perfected the art of creating authentic bread and pastries from Europe.
Delicious bakery with the croissants a stand out. Long line, we waited like 20 minutes, but worth it for the goodies. The coffee shop is separate, so if you go with someone, you can split up and order drinks while one person waits in line. Small area inside, no seating

As recommended by a friend, we made the trip to Clear Flour Bread in Brookline on a Sunday morning. Even before we parked, we spotted the line of people waiting outside and knew right away that our 50-minute drive would be worth it. The pastries did not disappoint—everything we tried was absolutely delicious. While there’s no indoor seating, you can enjoy your fresh-baked treats on a bench right outside, which adds to the charm. It was also surprising to learn that most of the customers were locals who stop by almost every week—always a good sign! The only downside is that they don’t serve coffee at the same counter, so we had to grab ours from their Coffee Bar next door. Still, I’ll definitely be coming back.

Clear Flour is well worth the drive or the walk. While I started coming to Clear Flour for the bakery, when they opened a coffee shop next door, it became a mainstay of my week. The coffee is great, and there are rotating sandwiches and snacks to start the day right. The sandwiches are spectacular (I just had the BLT, and they put a little bit of dill in the spread which made everything really pop off). It’s nice that I can come here with my veggie head friends because they offer a vegetarian sandwich option alongside their other sandwich… something for everyone!

Stepped in on a gloomy fall Sunday, looking for a hot cup of coffee and I was not disappointed. We ordered a hot honey vanilla latte and a mocha latte, both of which were exquisite. What struck me the most was the high quality milk that was being used which was the organic whole milk in glass jars. This really mattered because the coffee was rich and it absolutely delectable. They also offer a range of condiments which can be purchased. Overall, a highly recommended cafe.

Amorino Gelato on Boston's Newbury Street offers a taste of high-quality European gelato. Founded by childhood friends, this vintage ice cream shop uses rich and organic ingredients like blood oranges, amarena cherries, New England berries, and Arabica coffee to create authentic Italian gelato. The menu also includes appetizers such as calamari and signature bacon-wrapped scallops.

Asian fusion restaurant

Moonshine 152 is a laid-back eatery in South Boston that offers a creative menu of street foods with regional and Asian flavors. The chef, Asia Mei, has crafted a menu that combines familiar comfort food with contemporary twists. Divided into four phases, the new menu features appetizers, shareable plates, entrees, and desserts. Standout dishes include bacon-wrapped bites of sourdough stuffing and flavorful tacos.
Loved the atmosphere, the staff, and the service and the food was amazing. The chef herself brought the food out and that level of personal interaction with the person who’s cooking your food is a unique experience. Will definitely be coming back. The lamb meatballs were so good and was my favorite. Went back for brunch and enjoyed everything.

A great restaurant to enjoy delicious food. The space is nicely designed and decorated and the layout is good. The service was very friendly and accommodating even with our the large group and the chef checked couple of times if everything was good. The food was delicious, most of the meals we tried were very good. The Leslie Knop fried chicken and waffle was tasty (I was sold by the name of the meal since I am a fan of that show). We tried as well several desserts and they were good. A recommended place for an enjoyable dinner!
Wassim A — Google review
I’d heard a lot about Moonshine, and finally had the chance to check it out. We came in a little late (around 10:25pm, with the kitchen closing at 10.30pm), so things felt just a bit rushed, but the staff handled it with fast and friendly service. The food really blew me away—especially the jalapeño crab Rangoons and the bacon-wrapped stuffing bites. Absolute standouts! Drinks were tasty too; the garnishes could’ve been a touch more polished, but I get that the vibe here leans more toward comfort and creativity than fine dining pretension. What really makes this spot special is the personal touch—the owner, who’s also the chef, came out with the food herself. She’s not only talented in the kitchen but also a great artist, which adds so much character to the place. Definitely want to come back soon for brunch—if dinner was this good, I can only imagine how amazing their brunch spread must be.

What a gem! We visited Moonshine 152 in Boston during a family trip from California and had an incredible time. Chef Asia Mei, daughter of my TaiChi teacher, Master May Chen is truly gifted. The menu is a vibrant fusion of Asian flavors, and everything we tried was delicious. The Korean BBQ tacos were especially spectacular! The atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming, the drinks were fantastic, and the staff made us feel right at home. Whether you’re a local or visiting Boston, this is a must-try spot for a fun and flavorful evening out.

Father's Day dinner at Moonshine 152 was an adventure in flavor. We were lucky enough to have fabulous service from Sandra. Out of this world delicious. This place is on an other completely different level than any other place that serves food. Cos this place does not serve food. Mark L — Google review
I stumbled across Moonshine 152 on my first night in Boston for a business trip, and I’m convinced I found one of the city’s culinary gems. The cocktails? Spot-on. The food? The kind that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate it. And the service? Let’s just say the owner/chef herself came over to our table, chatted with us for five minutes like we were old friends, and even surprised us with a free butterscotch pudding (which, by the way, should be illegal for being that good). I loved it so much, I came back the very next night and it was another flawless experience. Two-for-two on incredible meals, creative drinks, and warm hospitality. Moonshine 152 isn’t just a restaurant, it’s the kind of place you immediately start recommending to everyone you know. Also, our waiter, Ben, was funny, attentive, and fun to talk to. Five stars, no hesitation. If you’re in Boston, do yourself a favor and go. Then go again.

For inventive seafood that is sure to please, Eventide Fenway is the perfect place to visit. With fresh-shucked oysters and creative dishes like lobster rolls, this oyster bar restaurant has something for everyone. Plus, the quick service makes it a great option for lunch on the go.
I’m consistently delighted by how delicious and surprising the food can be at Eventide. The lobster roll is my favorite in the city! I also love to get the tofu sandwich (so stupid good) and the fish sandwich (perfection). I think it’s always worth trying the funkier things they rotate on the menu too though! They know what they’re doing. This post was made in connection with a Toast promotion.

TikTok recommended this spot for lobster rolls and they were spot on! Eventide offers both a warm lobster roll in brown butter sauce and a cold one, and I have been craving that warm one ever since. The oysters were so fresh and delicious! Perfect spot for fresh shucked oysters. We went with our server's recommendation and he did not miss. The lobster stew was just okay for me. The scallop dumpling was great! Needed a little more scallops to balance with the prep style of the dumpling. Oyster shooters were outstanding and fun. The dirty martini and espresso martini were perfect. The brown butter soft serve was DELICIOUS! OMG! Great spot, highly recommend.

Just tried the One Way To Rio and absolutely fell in love! It’s a beautiful twist on Brazil’s national cocktail, the Caipirinha. The black mission fig–infused cachaça balances perfectly with ginger, lime, and a touch of sugar. Not too sweet! just smooth, bright, and wonderfully layered. The fig on top is the perfect finish. Well done 🍹👏🏼 also the brown butter soft serve is to die for! 10/10

Took my partner here for a birthday dinner and the food + service were top notch! Our server Tommy was very knowledgable about the drinks and food (if you’re reading this, thank you!!). The Jade Isle drink was fragrant and made with pandan in-house. We also loved their oyster selection - very fresh - and all of our entrees: brown butter lobster roll, chili crisp wings, and fried calamari. The brown butter ice cream with pecans was to die for and a perfect way to wrap up the meal!
Quynh V — Google review
The clam chowder was flavorful and had whole clams in it, which is something you don't often see, and instead of the ubiquitous plastic container of hexagonal oyster crackers, they give you a small packet of crispbread which is wonderful in the chowder. The brown butter lobster roll was equally delicious, with just a touch of spice. The portions are a little bit small, so you're not overwhelmed with the food, still have room for dessert. The service was quick and friendly and attentatively efficient

Everything was amazing , James was so attentive and informative with everything on the menu I fully enjoyed the lobster roll so much I took one to go. Both oyster shooter were delishhhh. My first time in Boston this has made this overall the best experience!!

I used to drive up to their Portland location as often as I could, so I was genuinely thrilled when I heard they were opening in Fenway. Eventide’s oysters remain unmatched in my opinion, and their lobster rolls are still heavenly, even if on the smaller side. I still dream about the salmon tacos they used to serve; they were absolutely phenomenal. I remember they told us to pay $5 for extra taco shells, which was hilarious. In the past, they used portable POS systems without providing paper checks, making it hard to clearly see the itemized billing—especially with administrative fees added post-subtotal. It left me wondering if the lack of transparency was deliberate. I appreciated that during our most recent visit, they brought a proper paper check. That felt like a much-needed improvement. However, I was disappointed to find that overall service has declined. In the past, staff were warm and engaging, but this time, they seemed very unhappy, almost as if they were reluctantly going through the motions. Our chairs still had crumbs from previous diners, which, for a restaurant positioned in the higher price range (particularly given the modest portion sizes), felt below standard. The clam chowder also seemed noticeably smaller than before. I fully understand that operating costs in Fenway must be significant, but unfortunately, this location continues to fall short of the experience I remember and love from Portland—for different reasons each time. That said, I’ll still return for the oysters, which are consistently excellent. I do hope they consider relocating or rethinking the current model—perhaps then the atmosphere, service, and overall experience would better reflect the quality of the food.

Nestled in the heart of Boston, Beacon Hill Chocolates is a charming candy shop exuding a Victorian ambiance. This local gem offers an array of local and imported treats, making it a chocolate lover's paradise. The store boasts an extensive selection of chocolate bars from around the world, as well as 30 flavors of exquisite bon bons. Visitors can also indulge in chocolate-covered nuts and fruits, fudge, candies, and more.
Local chocolate shops that sells house-made bonbons and craft chocolates from niche, independent brands. Stopped by a few times over the summer and again before Halloween to pick up some treats. While a bit on the pricey side, they offer a good selection of mini bonbons (~$4ea) and award-winning chocolate bars that make for perfect little gifts. Personally, I love grabbing a few bonbons and topping it off with a refreshing scoop of berry sorbet (they also have a small selection of gelato/sorbet). If you’re after unique chocolate treats or gifts, this place is worth a visit.

One thing I love about frequently going to Boston, whether it’s a shop, hotel, or restaurant, I’m always blown away by great customer service from helpful and kind individuals. This place is no exception. We were greeted and helped by the sweetest smiling young lady who packaged up our order so nicely. We picked out 12 gorgeous little truffles but I can’t wait to go back and get more. Worth the splurge!
J B — Google review
Online Pickup Cheaper Than In-Store Pricing After browsing their website I went to the store to buy some of their chocolates but I was charged $1 more per chocolate than what was priced on their website. A total of $50 for 12 pieces instead of $38 for the exact same selection I had priced online. I asked the staff, and they said the higher price was because the chocolates I selected were “seasonal”. But that doesn’t make sense as the website does not apply any "seasonal selection" surcharges. It seems like they simply move the most popular or in-demand chocolates to the top shelf on any given moment and add a surcharge. I even tested it by recreating the same cart online for pickup, and sure enough, it was $12 cheaper. The selection in-store was identical to what’s online, so I honestly felt misled. If seasonal pricing surcharges are applied only for chocolates bought at the store, it should be clearly stated on the website. For a premium chocolatier, this kind of pricing practice feels distasteful and opportunistic.

This is a great spot if you are looking for a wide assortment of chocolates, candies and gifts. They don't make the chocolate there, but instead partner with confectionaries from around the country. We got a couple of very interesting and tastey chocolates. A great dessert after a lunch meal. Friendly and helpful staff. No pressure to buy.

This is a pretty cool little shop that’s packed with chocolates, knickknacks and more. There are so many things to browse through and observe. Thumbs for all the offerings. As for the chocolates, they’re hit or miss. I ordered the fig and balsamic truffle and was really disappointed. I don’t know how to tell how old the chocolates are, but this was hard and wasn’t tasty. The toffee on the other hand was great. The caramel chocolate was really good. As for the customer service it really lacked. The staff wasn’t nice or friendly and gave us a very transactional experience. I was really disappointed they didn’t smile or offer any chit chat. Overall a nice store with some really cool gift ideas and items, but the chocolate lacked the amazing fresh taste and a thumbs down for the friendliness.

This is an adorable little chocolate shop, with a very wide array of chocolates and truffles. The shop feels very quaint and adorable. They also have a very cute selection of ornate boxes, where you can buy a box and then select the chocolate you want to side to make for the perfect gifts. The dark chocolate truffles are popping them were delicious. A few of the pieces of the assorted chocolates I bought or not as fresh inside. But they still looked adorable and it’s worth it.

We got some patriotic chocolate covered Oreos. We planned on taking them home to our kids, but we were worried because we were planning on walking around the city for a few more hours. We asked the associate if they would just melt and she said no because they would package them with an ice pack. We bought them at 4pm and at 10pm when we got on the subway to head back to our hotel. The Oreo and ice pack were still cold! Plus the our kids LOVE them! Thanks BH chocolate for taking the time to protect our treat for our kids.

I make it a point to come in for their chocolates and gelato whenever I’m in town. Absolutely delicious!! Great customer service as well.

Cocktail bar
Tapas restaurant
Gustazo Cuban Kitchen & Bar in Cambridge is a vibrant spot that offers modern Cuban cuisine to locals. The restaurant boasts an upbeat atmosphere, attentive service, and reasonable prices, making it perfect for both casual weeknight meals and weekend gatherings. The beverage program features classic cocktails alongside unique creations like the Westerly Wind. The restaurant's decor reflects the spirit of 1950s Havana with stunning Cuban modern art and ornate Spanish colonial architecture, creating an immersive dining experience.
I've never once left a review at a restaurant, but went here last night and was blown away. 10/10 Fancy, gourmet, delicious. Incredible. And not that expensive either, given how unique and special each dish felt like. We didn't order any of the entrees, we just ordered lots of Tapas for the table, and that's probably what I would do again. Each one was exquisite and unique. They're decent sized, I think we shared 6 tapas for 3 people and was a pretty great mix (they did offer to make some of the tapas 3 items instead of 2 for easier sharing, not sure if they charged extra for that but I wouldn't have minded). 10/10 Go here. Or don't, because I want to get a table.

Think of it as the Cuban cousin of Barcelona Wine Bar. All the basics done right, nothing bad, but nothing outstanding. Visited for dinner this past weekend. Some of my friends raved about this place as one of the best Cuban restaurants they’d ever tried, and the restaurant seemed really popular among the locals. The spacious two-floor restaurant filled up quickly, reaching near capacity within the first hour of opening. Maybe my expectations were skewed by the hype, but while the experience was good overall, there weren’t a lot of dishes we enjoyed. Favorite: Ropa Vieja Solid: Ceviche Decent: Chicharrones, Lamb Chops, Baby Back Ribs, Key Lime Pie Ceviche was a solid start to the evening. While the chunks of fish were a bit too large and awkwardly shaped (affecting the overall texture), the citrusy broth, avocado puree, and a subtle tingle of chili worked nicely with the plantain chips. From the small plates, the Chicharrones and Costillas a la Guayaba were decent but underwhelming. The pork belly and ribs were both on the drier side. The Lamb Chops were the most satisfying among the meats, elevated by a creamy, umami-rich hazelnut and almond romesco. Unfortunately, the Roasted Cauliflowers were a tad disappointing. The thick Manchego cheese sauce was overly dominant, which overshadowed other toppings. The highlight of the evening was the Ropa Vieja. It did take almost half an hour to come out, but it was worth the wait. The tender shredded flank steak, stewed in a rich tomato and pepper sauce, paired perfectly with the side of rice and black beans. Dessert was a Pie de Limon served in a cup—visually appealing but flawed in execution. The crust was stuck at the bottom, making it impossible to scoop until the very end. I ended up eating most of the sweet key lime cream on its own, which was a bit too sweet without the crust. If you’re craving Cuban flavors in a lively setting, it’s worth a visit, but I’m not sure if I’ll be back.

Went to Gustazo with a group of people a few months ago and returned recently with my partner and a friend. We really enjoyed our experiences both times! My one comment is that Gustazo seems to like to maximise tables and only have parties of four to a four person table, parties of two to a two person… etc. We were sat at a table that I would say is for two people so it felt a little cramped. Even though they did bring out the dishes one at a time, it felt a bit rushed to finish one so they could clear the plate to make room for the next. However, the food was excellent as were the drinks. (One other note is that we were sat at a table near the closed egress doors and there was a draft which was fairly uncomfortable since the temperature was low). Everything was delicious but the standout dishes would have to be the cauliflower and their key lime pie!

The food, atmosphere and customer service is top tier. It was worth every penny. The food feels like your abuela is in the back cooking with love. The presentation is chic and luxurious. It feels like you were transported to Cuba. You greeted as soon as you walk in and the waitress and waiters go above and beyond to make sure you’re okay. This has to be on my top 5 places to eat in Cambridge. I wish I knew about this place before I graduate. I will be back. The ropa vieja is so good. It’s a traditional dish.

Tapas style Cuban restaurant with delicious food, service, and cocktails! Everything we had here was delicious and shareable. There are some main entrees that we did not try but also looked good. Standout to me were the mussels which is made in a delicious tomato and chorizo sauce. The shrimp is equally delicious, as well as the mushroom croquettas, ribs, and fried rice! So good I came back the next day for more and it did not disappoint! S/o to our favorite bar tender Christian!!

Just phenomenal. The yucca fries changed my life. Don’t sleep on the chicharrones, fall apart delectable pork belly with the most satisfying, creamy avocado puree. I’ve been here twice and the vibe is always super lively - perfect atmosphere for everything from a festive gathering/celebration to a chill Friday night dinner. Loved the drinks too. Just bring a party and come here!

Every dish we ordered was excellent! The scallops were exceptional and the dessert was very creative and tasty! The place was slightly crowded and loud, especially in the basement, but the waitress let us move to a quieter spot. Overall a great experience!

Gustazo is one of my fav restaurants when it comes to intimate dining with a small group. The menu is tasty and the mixed drink selection is inventive! Wait staff is friendly and helpful. The experience would be better if the food serving would be more spaced out and thoughtful. Instead they brought everything at once which made us feel rushed.

Bakery
Nestled in the heart of Somerville, Lyndell's Bakery is a cherished gem that has been delighting taste buds since 1887. This historic bakery prides itself on crafting an array of mouthwatering treats, from cakes and donuts to Italian pastries, all made from scratch with top-notch ingredients. With over a century of tradition behind them, their menu boasts everything from classic crescent cookies and apple pies to custom birthday cakes that have become a staple for families in the area.
Best cupcakes on the planet. Make sure you get the ones that have only frosting on the top, vanilla or chocolate. Only. The other ones are good but they're made to sell to the kids because of the fancy designs and art that's on top. Those are not the same. The cupcakes I'm talking about are old school, haven't changed in over 50 years, very reliable. Just make sure to have a half a gallon of milk with you. Six pack of cupcakes! The half Moon madness special is a good deal, buy one get one free. But those cupcakes, mmmmmm!
Steve M — Google review
My mother bought a cake for my birthday and it was DELICIOUS! I love chocolate on chocolate cake and this was amazing. So rich and moist, this has to be my favorite cake in a long time. The inside is a blast from the past, from the old school number queue to the glass cases and the foot operated twine machine, it reminds me of the old bakeries you just don’t see anymore. There’s parking in the back if needed. The staff is friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be back to try more.

I’ve been meaning to stop by Lyndell’s after a friend of mine recommended I come here! I walked in and there was such a variety of baked goods to look and choose from. Staff were very welcoming and didn’t rush any customers to order. I got a raspberry pastry and 2 half moon cakes; one vanilla and one chocolate. They had a deal that day where it was BOGO free for the half moon cakes! Total came out to $6.75. The raspberry pastry was delicious! Soft, fluffy bread with some cinnamon with the tangy, sweetness from the raspberry jam and icing. Half moon cakes- both cakes were pretty good, not dry and not too sweet which was good because the icing on top of them were pretty sweet. It’s a considerable amount of frosting, so be warned if you cannot handle too much much sugar! All and all, I’d love to try more goodies from Lyndell’s! ^^

Clearly, this bakery is quite historic - and you can tell that from just walking by. Similarly, you can tell that this bakery makes quality products (and a wide variety) just from walking in the door. I had a few pastries my first visit here, and they were excellent. I will definitely coming back to try more of their wide selection of baked goods.

Such a good little local bakery. My favorite thing to get is the chocolate glazed donut. It's crunchy, but soft, not too sweet, just perfect. Pretty much every pastry I've tried has been great. The prices are mind blowingly cheap as well.

Sandwich shop
Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant South End, Blunch has been a beloved spot since 2008 for those seeking a delightful breakfast or lunch experience. This charming eatery specializes in hearty pressed sandwiches that are sure to satisfy your cravings. From the indulgent Big Papi, featuring black forest ham and spicy aioli on a crusty baguette, to The Meltdown with its gooey blend of cheeses on sourdough, each bite is a flavor explosion.
Heard Blunch had the best chocolate chip cookies, so I had to check it out. I can happily report that the Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie ($3.27) truly was the best chocolate chip cookie that I’ve had in Boston. It had the perfect crunchiness all around while still maintaining a slightly chewy center. The chocolate chips were also huge and nicely melted. Also, as heavy as this cookie was, it somehow wasn’t sickly sweet like other dense cookies that I’ve tried. I do think the price is a bit high, but it’s probably for the better that there’s something to stop me from getting this too often. Unlike other cafes, this place isn’t open on weekends, so plan accordingly. The inside is very small, but people knew not to block the flow of traffic. There is also some outdoor seating. There is a $5 minimum for credit cards.

Best cookies I've ever had I'll start there I would choose their chocolate chip cookie over any other cookie and sandwiches on the whole are really good however their Bird on Fire is more like a snow bird there is no heat no kick doesn't live up too it's name at all. It's name either needs to be changed or for god sakes you need to bring some heat... ITS IN THE NAME BIRD ON FIRE

I never had anything savory from here, but their chocolate chip cookies are delicious. The churros are ok they’d be better if warmed. The main issue is the Hispanic man running the register. He’s unwelcoming and has no customer service skills whatsoever. The older white lady was nice. Even tho it was busy she was still very pleasant and nice. Just the Hispanic man at the front he needs an attitude adjustment.

Such a wonderful hole-in-the-wall. Seriously, I mean that with all the best intention. It is an iconic spot for BMC-era. Not only is it literally a hole in the wall … very small, it’s also so yummy and so reasonably priced. The service is always quick and pretty consistent. They have a pretty vast menu for being so small and so busy, and it really works for them. I love to treat myself to one of their sandwiches when I’m working, as well as one of their world famous chocolate chip cookies. Drool!!! They’re actually not world famous, but they definitely should be. Probably the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had.

At first sight a little cramped but the food makes it all worthwhile. I always order BLT with chicken bagel and I’m never disappointed. So juicy and delicious I want to get another but, I feel full already. Also a bit pricey but still, worth it! Keep it up guys.

Cafe
Nestled in the heart of Brookline, Japonaise Bakery & Cafe is a delightful gem that has been enchanting locals since 1985. This charming spot beautifully blends Eastern and Western flavors, offering an array of classic and innovative baked goods. Founded by Hiroko Sakan, a determined single mother with no prior culinary experience, this bakery paved the way for Japanese-inspired treats in Boston.
A must stop if you are looking for good pastry and coffee. The selection is wider than that tho, with anything from cream filled pastry to savory nigiri! its a quite, cozy place with good service. Their cold brew with cream has a nice chocolaty note 🫶 (personally the matcha flavored pastry was not that flavorful, but that’s personal)
Risha A — Google review
Wonderful little Asian bakery! I popped by Japonaise Bakery & Cafe to grab a few baked goodies for my friends and I, and we were all thoroughly impressed by everything here -- the classics (e.g., red bean bun, melon bun) were all delicious, but it was also really fun to try out a few of their specialty items (e.g., strawberry cream bun, black sesame melon bun). Every item featured soft, pillowy bread, and a generous serving of the filling. The filling was always the perfect level of sweetness (i.e., not overly sweet), although the strawberry cream bun did feel a bit more decadent / sweet compared to the other items. I also appreciated the staff's attention to detail and commitment to quality; their red bean buns were slightly overbaked, so they offered me those pastries for free. There isn't any seating available inside, but the shop is still quite cute, and there's a small covered patio a few blocks away that you can sit at.

I couldn’t recommend coming here more. I’ve been to this bakery a few times and their pastries are beautiful, fun, delicious and take me back to Japan. I couldn’t decide which filling I wanted and commented about how I love them all! That’s when an employee in the bakery kindly offered me a new bakery item to try (item in first picture). I was so surprised at the kind gesture that I felt inspired to write a review.

The pastries and food from this cafe are absolutely amazing, not only are they super tasty, they are also incredibly cute! One of my favorite items they have is a Totoro cream pastry that can have a number of different types of filling. Personally, I got the chocolate one and loved it! They also have a discount pastry section for day old pastries which are still super tasty. Their onigiri are also very good, I highly recommend the spicy tuna flavor.

I absolutely love the place. Although I don't come as often as I'd like. The staff is friendly and polite and will answer all your questions with a smile and ive never not seens the owner there. Everything is good here. Even the stuff I haven't tried whish at this point are the sandos. They even have a day old section where good have been discounted. I highly recommend the curry pan, raspberry cheese Danish, and any flavor totoro pan. They come in 5 flavors. Cream, chocolate, match, yuzu, and I forget the last. As good if not better than the patisseries i went to in Japan. Do yourself a favor and stop in the next time you're in town. You won't regret it.

Super cute bakery with breads shaped like studio ghibli, anpanman, sanrio, and doraemon! The Kiki bread was soo good. The black sesame Totoro had rich black sesame cream!

I used to live in the condo just across the street from this tiny Japanese bakery back in 2006. So yes, I might not be the most objective person in the world to rate this wonderful, amazing place — but the melon pan was such a nostalgic treat that instantly brought back memories. Trust me, I’ve been to Japan 10 times since then and have tried at least 100 melon pans. This one? Slightly sweet, crunchy on the outside, yet soft on the inside — just the way it should be.

Honeycomb Creamery, situated in Cambridge, MA, USA, is a delightful small-batch ice cream parlor that takes pride in using locally sourced dairy and ingredients to craft an array of delicious and inventive flavors. The cozy shop offers a charming ambiance where visitors can savor the aroma of freshly made ice cream while admiring the vibrant selection on display. Notably, Honeycomb hosts 'Taco Tuesdays,' featuring its renowned ice cream tacos on a first come, first served basis.
I recently visited this place. The place has some unique and new flavors. We tried the Horchata (vegan) and MatchaLemon as one small scoop and we tried thaiIceTea+JasmineSeasaltGanache. We picked good flavor combinations I think. The store was warmer than outside making it difficult to sit inside and eat. All in all, good experience.
Shashank B — Google review
Rigorous sustainability and sourcing make this place a standout! It’s awesome. Competitors are still packing their desserts with gums, corn syrup, and additives — not here! The secret is out though, so expect a line during popular times. Parking can be tricky if you don’t know the area, just be aware. Most traffic is foot traffic though. Flavors are delightful and flavorful, offering a departure from the norm. Really unique options which you love to see! Pricing is on the high side to match the quality. Some reviewers think it’s too sweet but I thought texture and flavor were all on point. Will be returning for sure. Do note the no sampling policy. The ice cream is good and there aren’t a ton of flavors on offer so you can always get a flight if you need to try multiple things. I’d like to see the pints fridge brought in front of the register instead of behind though, it’s annoying to have to ask at the register for this but they’re space constrained so it makes some sense. If anything they may need to move to a larger venue soon given the popularity of the place. Again really really appreciate the focus on quality, sustainable, local ingredients.
Noah — Google review
The shop environment is nice. They have lots of interesting flavors. The ice cream was great at first, but the surprise didn’t last to the end. I ordered a small cup with Sweet Corn and Birthdaycake. Sweet corn was great. The slight salty flavor in the corn melted with the sweet berry perfectly. I personally was not a fan of the Birthdaycake. But I’d love to come again and try some other flavors. The honeycomb candy was great. *Update: their honey lavender flavor is so good! Even though they only sale it in pint, this flavor absolutely worth it! I’ll definitely buy it again. Since there’s no corn syrup, I feel healthier than other pint ice creams I bought in supermarkets.

Maybe i have to give them a second try but the ice cream here is overly sweet. Their thai tea tastes like cereal milk and the ginger rhubarb barely tastes like ginger and the rhubarb was made into a crumble where you dont get any of the tart flavor in there. They get a second star for inventive flavors but the execution is poor.

Wow! Loved their vegan dark chocolate sorbet ice cream. It was truly delicious. I think it was one of the best vegan ice creams I have ever tasted.

Best chocolate ice cream (milk chocolate straciatella) I’ve had in Cambridge. And I’ve been to 4 or 5 other shops. Creamy, not crystalline mouthfeel. Can’t speak for other flavors but the chocolate was fantastic. And kudos for a chocolate-flavored waffle cone!

This place is THE BOMB. Just a grill in the back pumping out fresh and delicious sandwiches. I’ve had a few breakfast sandwiches, and they never disappoint. The bagels are some of the best in the area. Don’t sleep on the donuts either. The cake ones in particular are just phenomenal. I’ve never had a wait, but am usually there mid week during the day. Plenty of seating, staff is friendly, bomb food— what are you waiting for?!

Had to wait 20 min for my chorizo egg and cheese on a bagel, but it was definitely worth it. My only comment is that how they cut the bagels is absolute chaos. Maybe it's time to sharpen the knife blades? 🤔😆
Gianna D — Google review
- I was more impressed with the donuts than the bagels. Overall it was a little bit disappointing given the perceived high reviews. Good customer service though - Recommend ordering ahead of time to avoid lines
BWS T — Google review
This place used to be good. However, literally every single time I’ve gone recently they don’t toast the bagel! So you’re just left with a soggy bagel lol. This is the last time I’ll be ordering from here. Don’t waste your money here when they don’t care about food quality, there are also at least 2 other places in Davis sq where you can get a breakfast bagel that is actually toasted Update: I did request for the bagel to be double-toasted for this order (see photo below)
Nathan A — Google review
Probably the most basic and bland breakfast sandwich I’ve had for as long as I can remember. I could literally make something more tasty than this at home, for 1/3 the price. Over $8.00 for what tastes like a frozen sausage patty and a generic store brand bagel that comes in a bag, flavorless and looking rough. Someone please explain how people are saying that “their breakfast sandwiches are the best” in these reviews?? And for the price, I literally wanted to puke. I could never recommend anyone to go here for a breakfast sandwich, you’d have to pay me to.
Joe T — Google review
One of the greater bagel and bagel sandwich shops on this side of the river, I always find myself ordering from here on the weekends because the quality and taste is simply unmatched anywhere else. The prices are reasonable, especially since the cost of the standard bagel sandwich has increased over the last year. The selection of bagels have some special flavors, and they even have the elusive salt bagel. The coffee and speciality drinks are great — I haven’t found one that I’ve disliked. The seating is primarily all upstairs with one table downstairs and the floors are strangely very slippery, but there should be plenty of seats to dine-in. Highly recommend this little tucked-in shop for your regular dose of sandwiches and coffee.

Nestled in the charming Newbury Street of Boston, Lady M Cake Boutique is a delightful gem that showcases the artistry of high-end baking. This exquisite bakery specializes in its signature chocolate mille crepes cake, which features twenty delicate layers of paper-thin crepes infused with imported French cocoa and separated by luscious pastry cream. Each cake is adorned with elegant chocolate curls, making it not just a treat for the palate but also a feast for the eyes.
Lady M Boston is hands down my go-to for the best cake in the city. I’ve visited multiple times, and the quality is always incredible. Especially their Mille Crêpes cakes, which are light, flavorful, and totally addictive. When I can’t make it in person, I’ll order on DoorDash to satisfy the craving. Whether it’s a special occasion or just a sweet treat, Lady M never disappoints :)

Newbury St location is a takeout only, we bought a cake for my daughter’s bd here and we were surprised how smooth it was, we ordered the Crepe Mille style. I’ve never had this kind of cake, wow the layers melt in your mouth … we bought the strawberry matcha and the crepes are made to perfection as they’re soft, moist and chewy and packed with a beautiful bag as well as a plastic knife. Amazing cake and experience… I definitely buy it again!!!!! I gave them 4 stars because of the customer service, they didn’t have a friendly attitude.

A Takeaway counter only! . If you’re buying a cake, which is ridiculously expensive, at least you should have a place to sit and enjoy the cake which does not exist in the shop. Currently a slice cost $16.05( including tax ) This is a multilayer crêpe cake. The cream of the cake is light. We got the Dubai chocolate version. They have a display of all the current variants of miles cake. . The packaging of the cake is great, probably the best and the only thing.
Ashwin A — Google review
Walked in and liked the variety of cakes that were on display. Got an order of their passionfruit slice. Paid about $14.xx and was pretty disappointed. The cake itself is very eggy and that tends to dominate all the other flavors a passionfruit cake should essentially deliver. Every bite I took felt like I was eating a mousse made out of cooked eggs and cream with a subtle hint of tartness. Also the texture was pretty off. Nothing about it felt tropical/vibrant! Really expected a nice, zesty, punch, but well!!! Service and atmosphere is okay but it’s only takeout. Don’t think I will be going back.

I always make a stop by Lady M whenever I can! Their cakes aren’t too sweet and are of high quality. They offer both classic flavors that appeal to Asian tastes and fun, unique flavors. The environment is very clean, and the staff is friendly and attentive. I got the taro mochi flavor and the strawberry pearl flavor, and both were delicious. My partner, who usually isn’t a fan of sweets, loved the Lady M cake slices! Will definitely stop by again.

Had the passion fruit slice. like a mouse texture made of crepes and cream which was light, so points for that !! Nothing special , a jelly like layer of passion fruit which was like a sheet of paper . Feels like a lot of the crème based cakes are the same with a different gelitan topping depending on flavour . Lady serving had 0 customer service, no where to eat but packaging was amazing I had food poisoning, pain and Bloating. Overall would not recommend please don’t fall for the hype but glad I tried it once I guess as was on the bucket list. The 2 stars are for the most packaging and the cleanliness. I

Got the passion fruit slice. Bad experience. Ended up with food poisoning after having it for some reason. There were some sort of layers that had formed in the spongy part of the cake. And it is not cheap.

Blackbird Doughnuts Fenway is a bright takeaway spot that offers a variety of creative sweet and savory donuts along with coffee. Located in Boston's South End, this dedicated bakery crafts unique gourmet donuts from scratch and specializes in custom flavors for events and weddings. While the location does not offer seating, customers can enjoy their treats on the bench outside. Visitors rave about the soft texture of the brioche doughnuts and recommend trying out classic flavors like Boston Cream and Coconut.
The friendliest bartista today on this Saturday , the 18th of January. This guy really loves his job and the establishment. So happy to get good vibes when ordering my coffee and donut. Prices are reasonable for quality gourmet and best donut recognition in Boston ma . Parking is difficult but manageable. Smaller location than most and doesn’t carry the full menu . Other than that everything is perfect .

I ordered a donut with a small drip coffee. The attendant threw the donut in the bag and it almost toppled over and fell off the counter. And then he was confused about how to make a drip coffee and stared at the machines for like a minute and said uhhh and then gave me a coffee that tasted like watery milk. And the donut was not that good and not made fresh there :( I spent like $7 ish in total and just felt scammed. I wanted to love blackbird doughnut but I’d rather go to Mikes 1000x over ** EDITED TO add I've had coffee with milk before - this coffee tasted very watered down. Either the calibration does not remove human error or is calibrated poorly. I am not sure why a trainee on their first day was left alone operating the shop. And it should be common sense to not throw the food into the bag. Sorry you cannot figure out how to run a business without degrading the quality and insulting your customers...

I online ordered 6 pack classic doughnuts and 2 of the doughnuts were not what was described on the website. I reached out twice to the number listed on the website on 1/20 and 1/30 and no one responded. I love the doughnuts but the lack of response is why I won’t return here again. If you order online from here, definitely make sure that you are receiving the right types of doughnuts that you paid for!

The donuts are so good!! I also got a matcha latte, it wasn't that strong, but it's not bad. The employee working was a little rude, but I read in other reviews that they do have some awesome employees. It's a walk-in place, it's a very small store so there is no seating.

Unique selection of donuts that is hard to beat! We’ve been to Blackbird a number of times and we always order a different flavor donut and we’re never disappointed. This time we ordered the marshmallow coconut and the citrus traditional donut and they were both delicious. My recommendation is to get to the store early in the day before some of the flavors sell out for the day.

Tiny storefront donut shop near Target and Fenway Park. I tried the vanilla OF. I'm sorry, but not a fan. Maybe I am a donut snob, or maybe I am just spoiled because we have 2 of the best donut shops minutes from my door in Providence.... But this was no Old Fashioned. It was soft and doughy, no satisfying crunch.

The Iced Blueberry Lavender Matcha Latte ($6.50) tasted eh for a matcha because I tasted the oat milk more than anything, but the drink as a whole wasn’t bad. I do wish it were colder; I picked it up not too long after ordering, but the drink was already lukewarm. The worker was friendly, though.

Faye and Hannah (I hope I spelled their names right) truly made my day this afternoon. Their service was truly top-notch. Both women were so friendly, kind, and conscientious. Thank you, Hannah, for the best Iced Strawberry Vanilla Matcha Latte EVER! 10/10

Seafood restaurant
Moëca is a seafood restaurant in Boston known for its exquisitely crafted desserts by Renae Connolly. The restaurant offers a fish-focused menu complemented by beautifully executed frozen treats like smoked-vanilla-mascarpone gelato with spicy caramel popcorn and lemon bombe with basil meringue, raspberry-hibiscus puree, and pistachio gelato.
Great service and great food. We followed the suggestion to go with sharing plates and were not disappointed. Everything was carefully prepared and delicately plated, and naturally, delicious and flavorful. During our visit they had a scallop special which would be a lovely addition to the main menu - really delicious and perfectly cooked. The unicorn oysters were good, but with the topping ratio, the true taste of the oyster was a bit too masked. That said, you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Very good seafood that rivals the likes of Nobu. All dishes, especially the Tuna and grilled dishes were incredibly good, immensely flavorful, and fresh as can be. They also had a comprehensive drink menu and some great cocktails. Overall I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for high quality seafood!
Lingoro — Google review
Our best meal in Boston. Our server was amazing, and the food was fresh, balanced, and so delicious. We ordered the unicorn oysters, bigeye tuna, eggplant, shrimp special, and gnocchi. The tuna was hands down both our favorites. We also got a dessert (corn cake) and it was the one dish that felt a bit disjointed (lots of flavors that didn’t quite meld well together). But ultimately didn’t dock a star because the meal is the star of the show, and it was excellent!
Stella K — Google review
Seafood focused restaurant with shareable plates. Most of the plates were a hit especially the cauliflower and the smoked seafood over potato flat bread. The lobster sphagetti was a bit odd as it gave me buffalo wild wing vibes but it was still tasty.

Food Many of the dishes were unique and I wish they had photos on the menu. Some of them came out completely different than what we expected. Even though the flavour was decent, we wouldn’t had ordered them if we had known how they would be. Everything else The ambiance was subtle and had a quiet Mediterranean vibe. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.

This place is awesome. Every dish but one was a huge hit. The dish that wasn't a hit, the caserece, was cooked excellently just had 0 seasoning(0 salt). Innovative flavors, great execution, high quality ingredients was a lot of fun and a pleasure to eat. Great cocktails too.

Moèca is an absolute gem. The food, the atmosphere, and the service all came together for a perfect dining experience. My server, Emily S., was wonderful—attentive without being overbearing, genuinely kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made the evening feel effortless. I began with the Preserved Plate, a bright, well-balanced starter that immediately set the tone, along with a pomegranate mocktail that was refreshing and beautifully layered, not too sweet. The crispy oyster was golden and crunchy on the outside, silky and briny inside. The sauce was so good that if nobody had been watching, I might have licked the shell clean. The chanterelle gnocchi was pillowy and rich, with flavors that lingered in the best way. Emily recommended it over the lobster spaghetti, and she was absolutely right. Next time, though, I’m definitely coming back to try that lobster spaghetti. The bluefish was cooked to perfection, elegant and deeply flavorful. For dessert, the vanilla yogurt surprised me. I asked Emily why yogurt instead of ice cream and she explained the kitchen wanted a tangy flavor. It worked—light, unexpected, and refreshing after such a rich meal. If I could redo the night, I might have ordered a little less—either skipped the Preserved Plate or the Bluefish—because everything was so generous and filling. That’s not a complaint; it just means I’ll come back hungrier next time. One confession: I had seen a picture of a stunning asparagus dish on Moèca’s website and hoped it would appear on the menu that night. It didn’t—but honestly, everything I had was so good, I didn’t really miss it. I’ll just have to keep coming back until asparagus season. From start to finish, the experience felt thoughtful and polished. Moèca easily ranks among the best restaurants in Cambridge, and I can’t wait to return.

Decent food. Service is just ok. Price is high for what was offered. Food: we had the beef tartare, crab lil gem, pil pil, gnocchi, halibut. We especially liked the crab lil gem salad - refreshing taste and high quality ingredients. Beef tartare and pil pil were tasty too. The exception was the gnocchi, which had a lardo topping that tasted like stale walnuts. It reminded me of old and burnt oil. Upon informing the staff (waiter/bus boy?) about it, the person just shrugged it off and said that’s how it should be. We thought that was a strange/condescending response. I saw another customer’s review mentioned the same issue with this dish so maybe we are not the problem? The other waiter was nice though. We also had cocktails and the lemon cake for desserts. The cocktails were good. The cake was decent. Overall good and creative food but price is on the higher end.

Dessert restaurant
C Fruit Life is a hidden gem in Allston, offering a variety of Hong Kong/Chinese desserts that are hard to find elsewhere. Their menu includes sweet soups, pochettes, boba drinks, and unique flavors like durian and taro. Customers rave about the delicious mango coconut jelly dessert and the papaya coconut with grass jelly. The shaved snow desserts, particularly the mango and durian flavors, have also received high praise for their texture and taste.
This place has unique Asian desserts that are mostly fruit-themed. We had mango sago with shaved ice and some type of fruit pudding with fresh fruit and black sticky rice. This area of Brighton has a lot of similar dessert places which we noticed while walking around.

new founddd fav dessert place. Especially for someone who loves fruits. They have a lot of variety to choose from. Strawberry pochette just melted in the mouth. Black sesame ice cream was new and interesting flavour . Mango sago was 8/10. Loved the grass jelly with condensed milk along with mocha ice cream☺️

Really unique place! I tried: 1. Longan, date, wolfberry (goji berry), tremella soup with a side of lotus and sea coconut (also called Lodoicea or Coco de Mar), 2. Strawberry Pochette: basically a crepe with strawberry and ricotta (if I had known that I would have foregone, as I know what those things taste like). 3. Papaya coconut 🥥 milk with Sago (other names are saksak, rabia and sagu: an extract of palm stems and a staple in New Guinea and the Maluku Islands 4. Mango pizza with fresh mango and mango jam, mozzarella, and mayonnaise on top (that part sounded gross but it was so tasty). The fruit soups were not cheap, but they were so tasty, and I don’t know where else you can try this variety of vegetation! No parking right out front, but there is street parking all along other streets. Fully accessible but the door is insanely heavy to open so I asked for help. Sadly no bathroom!!! Most of the ordering is done on your phone with a QR code associated with each table.

Had the mango and the durian shaved snow. I really likes the texture of the shaved snow since it isn’t like the typical shaved ice where the flakes are a bit hard/crunchy. The mango one was good but it was a little bit heavy to me, though I liked the topping paired with it more. If I wasn’t already full, I likely would’ve enjoyed it more. I preferred the durian one much more as it fits my taste more. It felt less heavy and the sweetness was just right. It tastes like typical durian ice cream (be it the taste is a tad more subtle) I’ve eaten in Vietnam and the sprinkle of the nuts on top was very nostalgic. Would recommend to those who prefer shaved snow over shaved ice

Visited this place with a couple of friends. I bought durian snowdae. It was better than it's supposed to be. I love the mango snowdae though. Must try. Blueberry pizza was one time try. Ambience is nice and colorful. Good for a comfortable and cute date.

Overall a cute little dessert place but not my favorite! Good: - We got the strawberry slush dessert and the fruit it came with like the strawberries were nice but the slush itself was like way too sweet - Nice interior and place to sit with friends - Unique desserts on the menu Bad - Took a while for the dessert to come back Overall not too impressed since I feel like I would not come again.

Coffee shop
La Saison Bakery is a charming bake shop in Cambridge, founded by pastry chef and chocolatier Soheil Fathi. Originally established in Tehran, the bakery offers a delightful array of treats such as sourdough-crust pizza, artisan bread, gourmet pastries, and high-end chocolates. The menu features delectable cakes like Honey Apple and Chocolate Pudding slices or whole cakes like Vanilla Rosewater Nude design.
Got the Iced Rose Latte (half sweet), Peaflower Tea, Feta Za’atar Scone, Pain Au Chocolat, and Orange Cardamom Scone. The rose latte was spectacular! The drink was very well balanced: it was adequately strong, milky, and sweet. The homemade rose syrup tasted really good without taking away from the coffee taste. The Peaflower tea was also really good and unique. The highlight was the Feta Za’atar scone. Beware that it’s a bit salty, but I enjoyed it. The pain au chocolat was a miss imo as the dough wasn’t flaky enough and the chocolate filling tasted mediocre. The orange cardamom scone was pretty good, but nothing spectacular.

This place is one of my favorites—I’m a big fan of their sourdough. The pastries are great too, but the sourdough really stands out as some of the best in Massachusetts. But the coffee... I was honestly shocked by the milk foam today. Given the price and the beans, it should be at a specialty level, but the barista clearly didn’t put any effort into it. I wasn’t even expecting latte art, but I did expect a bit more care than this
MJ — Google review
The La Saison is a great bakery shop. The rose latte and Saffron latte were so delicious. Their cheesecake “Akbar mashti” was also delicious and not only packed with sugar. We got also breakfast sandwiches that were good too. I would come back again for lattes and pastries!
Aref A — Google review
Sandwiches are generally available after 10 am. Egg burger with cheese is nice however, it'd be better to put some leaves. Croissants are good. They have various bakeries, chocolate cakes and rolls.
Fuzuli A — Google review
Croissant was quite good (especially for Boston) with a very good pull and nice loud crunch sound. Kouign Aman was delightful, light and sweet. Pain au chocolate was not bad—very nice dark chocolate but the pastry itself was a bit less puffy and crispy than I would prefer. Outdoor seating only, the vibes are great, queer friendly, and relaxed(even if the construction across the street is awful and has been going on for years).
Jared — Google review
The bread here is significantly overpriced for the quality. Paying $7.50 for a barbari bread that isn’t exceptional feels unreasonable. The long lines, crowded space with no indoor seating, fancy lattes, and Americanized Middle Eastern offerings generate hype and make the menu accessible to a wide audience, but the bread itself doesn’t measure up. There are other bakeries that offer tastier breads at far better value. Gyumri Lavash, Clear Flour and Hungry Ghost all make breads with superior flavor and texture that are worth paying a premium for. I wanted to love this place because of the team running it, but it feels more reliant on marketing and hype than on true quality.

Coffee great and their baked foods are fresh and delicious. Ordered Saffron Pistachio croissant, totally loved it
Davis Z — Google review
I ate the most amazing piece of Sicilian pizza at La Saison. It was orders of magnitude better than any Sicilian pizza I have ever had. The tanginess of the sauce, a rich aroma of spices and cheese burst into my mouth a on first bite. It looked delicious too. I had another bite noticing that the dough was perfectly to my taste, a little soft just under the cheese, firm and chewy on the bottom. The crust or edge was incredibly flavorful as well with its slightly browned cheese, oregano and other spices. I took a few more heavenly bites and had to pause and talk with my wife and another patron about how good this pizza was. I contemplated saving half for later, but then couldn’t resist finishing it. I told the servers inside how good it was and they said a Sicilian chef had made it. Wow!

The Omni Parker House, a historic hotel built in 1855, is a luxurious and elegant lodging located in the heart of Boston. It has traditionally furnished rooms and is known for its association with famous literary figures like Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne, and Longfellow. Situated along the Freedom Trail, it offers easy access to attractions such as Boston Common and Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
Other than the ghosts I have absolutely no complaints or issues with the place, kidding about the ghosts of course. This hotel is a great location, central to many places making most of the places we wanted to see easy to walk to. All the staff here were great, bellhops especially. The gym was nice, had all the equipment I would want in a hotel gym, they also have work in your room kit that has some weights and other things for a workout. My room was small but was well done, had all the things I would need and I really liked the bathroom, nice shower too. Overall it’s a very expensive hotel but if you have the money and want to be close to things then this is the one to stay at.
Steven H — Google review
This hotel is conveniently located so walking to landmarks and historic places is easy to walk anywhere. The check in process is fast and the staff is friendly. It also has two convenient restaurants that serve nice drinks and good food. The room: our room was small compared to the average room. However the bed was super comfortable, but the bathroom is super small. the toilet is located in a small corner in which a big or tall person won’t fit. That is horrible I’m 6”0 and barely fit. The good is that the bathroom was cleaned and organized. One thing I didn’t like is that at 3:30 pm next day my room wasn’t cleaned so had to ask for fresh towels and leave the room as it was because we needed to rest. BTW the air conditioning is super quiet so it won’t bother you at night. Check out process is online, so it is fast and easy. In short Great location Super friendly staff Clean room Room kinda small Super small bathroom (toilet area) :( Parking is expensive at the hotel and surrounding areas. More than the average price.

Request that you stay in a room away from the alley. I was woken up at 4:30am by the sound of trash trucks and delivery drivers from that point forward. There is no sound insulation at all. The noise, beeping, smashing, and loud sounds lasted until I decided to finally get out of bed at 8am. No sleep was accomplished at all the first night. They switched me rooms without any issue and I slept much better the next day. The beds are okay. They are very soft but can feel the springs. I’m a male weighing about 195 and I’m a bit sore after a two day so far. The pillows are all down filled and turn hard after about 5 mins. Request another type of pillow if you need another one. The thing that is ultimately making me write this review is the food at the hotel restaurant. I was looking for a quick bite, like fries or something to fill the stomach, and the cheapest thing they had was pretzel bites. $21 later, I received a 8 quarter sized pretzel bites and a half filled container of cheese. I was shocked. I confronted the hostess who obviously had no care in the world whatsoever and completely oblivious to reality (obviously was there only for a paycheck like most people). She told me to talk to the bartender serving food and drinks. He and I shared a chuckle about the shocking amount of food for that price. I asked for another container of cheese which was provided and helped me justify this generous three star review. The bartender was great. Will I stay here again? No, not likely to consider this hotel ever again. Thanks and goodbye.

First there is the history of the property it is the oldest continously running hotel in the US...it is responsible for the Parker rolls and Boston cream pie...PLUS more. The service is impeccable...friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The location is fantastic. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable with high end bedding. The onsite restaurant is good for food and people watching.
Suzan K — Google review
Hotel staff was wonderful and you can’t beat the location. The hotel itself is beautiful and the renovation was needed and looks amazing. The rooms themselves are comfortable and small as many are in Boston. The issue is the noise level. Even on the 7th floor, I could hear everything going on outside. The walls are paper thin and if you have noisy neighbors, it will ruin the stay.
Carla C — Google review
Omni Parker House was recommended to us by one of the HOHO tour guides who claimed the Boston Cream Pie (BCP) was reknown for it's authenticity and outstanding presentation. The dining room was magnificent with its scrollwork. Because we only came for dessert (BCP), we were seated near the noisy kitchen (the cheap seats) even though the dining room was bereft of clientel. The French onion soup used a blend of cheeses over a too sweet broth. The clam chowder was almost tasteless with too many potatoes while also being served lukewarm. The wait staff were aloof and cheerless. In their favor, the Boston Cream Pie was divine. The Parker House rolls were phenomenal. Maybe they treat you with more respect if you are in residence. I felt slighted and judged. Boo!

The most friendly and accommodating staff in every single aspect/area. They offered the most interesting stories and best tips for getting the most out of our one day in Boston. Everything was so clean. The entire place is absolutely stunning. Just beautiful. Our room was perfect and so clean, the beds so comfortable. Absolutely would stay again.
Jaime L — Google review
We really enjoyed our stay at the Omni! The staff was great, rooms were clean (just small), and the location is central to many Boston points of interest. I would note that if you’re taller or take up more space than an average person, the rooms are definitely a squeeze and the bathroom/toilet area is SMALL. Not an issue for us but may be for others.

Stopped in after the game craving ice cream — even though it was pouring rain — and it was so worth it. 😊 The brownie sundae was delicious! The staff member helping us wasn’t exactly friendly, but she was extremely careful with an allergy in our group, which I really appreciated. Great spot for a post-game treat.

Plenty of seating inside even on a nice busy Sunday afternoon. There were quite a few people inside but didn’t seem crowded. They had public bathrooms. The store was a little dirty. The prices were high but to be expected. The sizes were not that big. We got two sundae’s and they were not big at all for the price I expected bigger and more ice cream. We also got a frappe and it was delicious, just one size for all frappe’s. There were also two benches outside to sit and enjoy your ice cream.

SERVICE is where they are slacking.. no i’m not a rich beacon hill woman who has nothing better to do then write bad reviews but I got a $12 sundae And there were barely any whipped cream on it. Then, when it came to splitting the charges on two debit cards, it took three of them to do it, and it still wasn’t being able to be done. weather That has to do with JP licks being outdated with its technology or if the staff just literally doesn’t know how to do it because this is the first job ever... It’s a situation. also, they’re extra thick crabs aren’t extra thick so make sure you tell them a few times that you want it really thick!!!! I left not happy. update; i came home and im even not happier. i asked for the cookie sundae…. where it has baked cookies on the sundae… was given a regular sundae obviously didn’t realize until i’m home and eating cuz i got it to go 😭😡

On a scorching hot summer day in Boston, I stumbled upon JP Licks, and I'm so glad I did! Their rum raisin ice cream was the perfect antidote to the sweltering heat, and the variety of flavors they offered made it even more enjoyable. First off, the rum raisin ice cream was exquisite. The creamy, rich rum-infused ice cream had just the right balance of sweetness and that subtle hint of rum that made it a true adult indulgence. The plump raisins added a delightful chewy texture and bursts of natural sweetness that complemented the ice cream perfectly. What stood out the most was the quality of the ice cream itself. It was incredibly smooth, and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. It didn't melt too quickly, allowing me to savor every bite without making a mess. From classic vanilla and chocolate to more adventurous options like mint chocolate chip and black raspberry, there was something for everyone. I couldn't resist trying a few other flavors, and each one was as delightful as the last. The generous portion sizes ensured I got my money's worth, and the staff at JP Licks were friendly and offered excellent service, making the experience even more enjoyable. In the end, JP Licks' rum raisin ice cream was a delightful summer treat, and the wide range of flavors they offer makes it a must-visit for ice cream enthusiasts. If you're in Boston and looking for a cool, flavorful escape from the heat, give it a try, and don't forget to explore their other delicious

The best and least crowded of the J.P. Licks locations around the area. Nestled in the historic Beacon Hill neighborhood, it's definitely worth a visit if passing through. This was such a random pick but boy it was a good experience! The service was good, ambience is pretty too but the best thing is their Butter chicken panini is to die for!! I would go there just to have that! Also, had their coffee cake which was not at all good. So i think it’s a hit or miss but worth a shot!

That ham and cheese croissant was ridiculous - in the best way possible. Vanilla latte was a vanilla latte. Smooth with a nice finish, but could've used an extra hit of something. Probably could add a shot next time, but overall nice. Strawberry mint lemonade? Bomb. But, that ham and cheese croissant... Straight-fire. Glad I'm not local, I'd eat that every morning and see a spike in my waistline. (Pro tip: Get it warmed up!)

Flour Bakery is a good neighborhood bakery and sandwich shop that has a good variety of baked goods and decent sandwiches. Tous les Jours is a delightful French-Asian fusion bakery offering an extensive selection of over 300 baked goods, including cakes, pies, breads, macarons, cookies, and more. The self-serve pastries are visually appealing and consistently bursting with flavor. From sweet treats like taro buttercream bread and sweet rice donuts to savory options like ham and cheese croissants or kimchi croquettes, there's something for every palate.
Had a great gathering here. I've never heard of 'strawberry latte' so tried that and it was like strawberry milk with real strawberry. It was real strawberry flavor not chemical, not too sweet, and very refreshing and pleasant. Other drinks were from my friends for reference. Tried the cloud cake and it was amazing. Very soft sponge cake and well-whipped cream. It went very well with the strawberry latte. Again, not so sweet so I felt like I could have multiple pieces in one sitting. It was yummy. Also tried salt bread: it tasted like soft, slightly salty baguette. Had a nice buttery and just-baked type of taste. Soboru bread was also soft and not too buttery or sweet. I don't like too sweet bakery so it was a pleasure dining here. Nice sitting areas to chitchat. I will be visiting here again!!

I love Korean backery! We got birthday cake! Chocolate mouse. And other cakes were all delicious. Design also pretty. They give free candle and matches

They have unique desserts. I got my birthday cake and it came with candles, matchsticks and knife. Cake was so beautiful I got the mango cloud cake. Its clearly one of best cakes I have ever had. The strawberry tiramisu was delicious too.

Opened late today and very little product out. Employees are not hustling at all to fill up EMPTY bins and when asked about lack of items they are RUDE. I asked if there was a coffee menu since their screens weren't displaying anything and the rude man said latte and coffee. AWFUL service to everyone that came in. Clearly no idea how to run a restaurant and ZERO sense of customer service. Do no recommend at all. Other locations have been stellar but avoid this one.

Tous Les Jours is a popular bakery chain serving Asian dishes and drinks around Packard's Corner. The atmosphere is a bit dark, but has a wide range of seats to sit and study at. There is a lot of selections to choose from, and the staff are pretty friendly when checking out and making any specific drink orders. I usually get a range of cakes and pastries from here, such as chocolate croissants. The cakes are made in a more Asian style, with more cream and fruit based options. For the price it is a decent size, and they do offer full sized cakes for birthdays or other occasions. The pastries are pretty good, with a range of sausage rolls or dessert goods.

Sending someone a substitute with nuts without calling to ask whether they have a food allergy is just bad for business! I placed an Uber Eats order tonight not long before closing. The order was for 2 cream cheese pastry and 1 vanilla donut. The vanilla donut was for my friend and I ordered the cream cheese pasties for myself. They sold out of the cream cheese pastry, so they put in one substitute item that I was not able to eat because I'm allergic to nuts. I ordered 3 items but only got two items delivered. They put a note in the bag stating that they were out of cream cheese pasty. Uber refunded me for the pastry, but I ended up having to pay $9 to have a donut delivered and nothing for myself. Just crazy. Do better. Probably a bad idea to order from them off of Uber

If you're on the hunt for a delightful treat, look no further than Sweet Waffles + Boba, a charming café nestled in Chinatown. This laid-back spot has quickly become a favorite since its opening in 2019, specializing in delectable Belgian waffles served on sticks and an array of creative bubble tea flavors. Each waffle is made fresh to order and can be customized with various toppings like cream and unique flavor combinations such as churro crunch or matcha crunch.
This place is highly recommended! It was our first stop in Chinatown, after seeing this place on tiktok. The staff was awesome and friendly, gave us some advice for the day and where to go. The cereal killer waffle and strawberry lemonade were both great and fresh. Will definitely come back!

Lots of choices of waffles and Boba. Great customer service, very polite. Not too expensive either, fair pricing. Definitely will keep on rotation.

I would highly recommend to have something with fruits on it, anything would work, strawberries, kiwis, bananas, anything. I ordered a oreo cheesecake type but did not give the cheesecake vibe. The waffle and cheese sauce were too sweet for me and I struggled to finish them. But my friend did enjoy her strawberry kind and I tried and that was so good. So next time stick with your fruits yea.

Best Best Best waffles and boba. The waffles were so soft and sweet and there was so many different varieties to choose from which made it even better, they were also nicely sized and came out so perfect. The boba had me so excited for more, it was just tasty all around and nicely sized for its price. If you are looking for some comfort snacks this is definitely the place to come to. Environment was very nice, the staff very friendly and quick, vibes all around were amazing 100/10 experience

The waffles looked amazing, and they tasted great. We got the waffles for take out, which wasnt such a great idea for some of us getting ice cream, but they still tasted amazing I would definitely recommend trying it once, also love they they have a mystery/roulette flavor on the menu if you have already tried all the flavors or don't know what to order.

SWB is not only the best Boba shop around, but a huge part of the car community. They bring together so many different people and always give the best customer service. I’ve tried boba at other places in the surrounding MA areas and nothing compares to theirs. With so many options for milk tea, lemonade and not to mention the customizations for drinks as well as their delicious waffles, I don’t go anywhere else for my boba fix. I’d deal with the parking situation any day for their boba. Definitely worth the visit. Thank you guys!
Danielle C — Google review
This place is an absolute vibe. They have the best Milk Tea/Boba I have ever had, and their mochi waffles are delicious. Strawberry Cheesecake waffle and Coconut Brown Sugar Boba is my favorite! I first visited about a year after COVID when it was counter service only and you couldn't sit down. I immediately fell in love and now I stop in whenever I can. Now that it's open again it's even better. The staff is amazing, so friendly and they will remember you by name! It makes me so happy to see this place continue to thrive and grow. Oh, and they're also car people. So from one fellow gearhead to another, cheers! A must try place in Boston if you love Boba or dessert🧋❤️

Far Out Ice Cream is a delightful gem located in Brookline, Massachusetts, that brings a taste of New Zealand to the wedding dessert scene. This innovative ice cream shop specializes in crafting soft-serve treats by blending traditional hard ice cream with an array of frozen fruits. The result? A creamy and thick dessert experience that’s unlike anything else!
Far Out Ice Cream is a newer ice cream spot that has been open for about a year specializing in New Zealand style ice cream. They have a robust display of flavors, as well as mix-ins and toppings that go with the ice cream. It was our first time trying it, and the staff were very friendly and helpful even though it was close to closing time. They explained how the ice cream is made and the best combinations for each flavor. We got 2 different ice creams with toppings mixed in, as well as a milkshake. The ice cream looked like soft serve, but wasn't soft serve. The consistency was pretty smooth and not too sweet, and the mix-ins and toppings went well with the flavors. The milkshake wasn't too thick or too watery, but had a good flavor. Prices weren't too high, and they also had premade ice cream pints in a freezer available to buy. Overall, a great first experience and highly recommended to try.
Nick S — Google review
So they sell "New Zealand style" ice cream where they freshly blend a base ice cream (vanilla or chocolate) with Fruit of your choice, and you can add toppings. They had run out of waffle comes, apparently they also make it there. The line was pretty long when I was there. The ice cream was pretty rich. Had a strong flavor condensed milk. I had vanilla + mango and it was smooth, oddly creamy, and delicious. Would come again for the experience of it and to try different combinations.
Chan L — Google review
We visited this ice cream spot recently and had a good experience. There’s touch screen machines you can order from so it’s easy to explore options and customize to your liking. The ice cream is definitely high quality. I had the mango matcha flavour and it was delicious.

Okay I was skeptical… but this place is INCREDIBLE. I mean we came two days in a row just because of how good this place was. And we being two broke med students. I got the shark attack soda and my friend got the ice cream. Phenomenal. I mean it. Jaw dropping mouth watering stomach churning delicious. If you like those little gummy sharks you will loveeeee the shark drink!!! The only tiny thing that could be improved is my friends mango/passionfruit ice cream had chocolate in it which we didn’t ask for but it was still good!!! We may be back again tomorrow…
Vanshika D — Google review
I created my own with a vanilla base, mango, and graham crackers mixed in. Loved that it wasn’t overly sweet, and the flavors worked really well together. Only downside, there was a piece of banana at the end of my cone, which makes me think the swirl machine wasn’t cleaned properly. Also a bit pricey at $9.75 for a regular size in a waffle cone.
Kaveri S — Google review
Confused how this place has such good ratings. The ice cream is not creamy at all, it tastes like bland freeze dried strawberries mixed in frozen yogurt. Not worth $8. Was icy, not smooth
Gillian M — Google review
The ice cream was great loved the concept & how you get to sort of customize your own. They have good options with the ice cream , went with the dairy free chocolate & pineapple.. was very delicious. They also have their own coffee that you can take home. Overall great alternative to your typical ice cream.

What a great find in Boston, MA's Little Saigon in Dorchester area. This is not your average boba tea shop, it feels like a gourmet version that makes the other boba places look like fast foods. Coco Leaf offers a nice selection of boba teas, smoothies, and quick bites. I was impressed by the nice selection of Vietnamese chè (a type of dessert). I had a chance to try the artichoke drink and the pennywort/mung bean drink (both with basil seeds). And they are refreshing! The ambience is nice and cozy. And the flowers display is very Instagrammable! Pro-tip: There are many Vietnamese restaurants nearby, so make it a lunch and boba kind of deal.

FoMu is a popular vegan dessert spot known for its delectable ice cream and baked goods made with locally sourced ingredients. The coconut-milk-based ice cream comes in flavors like triple-chocolate brownie, raspberry almond crumble, and mango-habanero, all handcrafted in Watertown. The chain has expanded since its establishment in 2012 and the owner recently published a cookbook featuring these recipes.
They have such creative flavors to enjoy for those who are seeking milk alternative desserts. The person at the counter was super nice and let me try as many flavors as needed to help me make my decision. The store is really big, good for a group hangout or maybe even a small event. Would come back to try other flavors. I got the PB cookie ice cream, it tastes the least like coconut milk (which I don’t mind, but fyi) but I would have also gotten their seasonal chai flavor.

LimeRed Teahouse, situated near Boston University, has become a popular spot in the city since its establishment in 2011. Originally starting as a small shop in Amherst, it has garnered a following, especially among students, for its variety of bubble teas. The teahouse prides itself on offering bubble tea made with freshly brewed tea leaves imported from Taiwan.
This place had some of the best boba I have ever had but the oolong tea itself was lacking in the roasted flavor. This place definitely has great toppings and the price was reasonable. I loved the atmosphere it was very calming with lots of open seating.

LimeRed Teahouse is a small cafe located right outside of the BU campus, with a wide range of desserts and drinks to try out. The staff are pretty welcoming, able to cater to most requests and are able to explain any recommendations to new customers. They make the drinks pretty quick and kept us informed throughout the process. We typically come here to get Bubble Waffles with Ice cream, which does take a little time to make, but the batter used is light and fluffy and goes well with the ice cream they serve. They also have macarons here, which are pretty standard. The teas are good, some of them don't have as strong as a flavor as they should but overall is pretty good. Definitely a good place to study or just to hang out while in the area.
Nick S — Google review
Drinks were ok. What got me here writing was the service or lack there of. Stopped in for a quick pick me up and was greeted with a monotone I hate my job woman who got our order wrong and when confronted, said if we wanted tea it’s a dollar more. Yes ma’am we wanted tea and ordered tea. If unclear, simply ask or speak, perhaps even repeating an order would be good standard business practice. Will not return. We were there, Saturday 6/14 around 3pm. Cheers ✌️ A typical owner’s response to a bad review is blame the customer. Brown sugar milk tea was what was ordered, it isn’t a customer’s job to review how that is entered into your system. Take business accountability, your service just sucked and there’s plenty of room to improve upon it.

On the first visit, I had the Rose Jasmine tea. It was the best cup of tea I've ever had. It hit perfectly on a rainy day and my only suggestion for improvement on that day would have been a better choice of music. Revisited:I got the same drink on my second visit and it didn't hit quite the same. It was lukewarm and had an off (kind of burnt) taste, like drinking dish soap. The atmosphere is still great. The one-woman show is quite busy preparing to-go orders, all of them cold drinks with vibrant colorways; I commend her for that. I don't think I'll be back around the way for some time but if I do find myself in Packard's corner soon, I'd love to try one of those colder drinks that she's selling like hotcakes so that I can update my review. The jury is still out.

Awesome Boba Tea spot in a very convenient location. Extensive selection of different teas & I also appreciate the Tablet where you can place your order without having to wait on anyone. The shop was very clean & service was great. The matcha orange tea was for me personally really good as I got it with no sugar it still tasted great. The passion fruit tea was also good. The best part was the Honeycomb waffle ice cream, just a great dessert to have on a warm summer day. Wish they would have more ice cream selections like chocolate or green tea as That would be just right...overall would go again & again.

This is definitely one of my most favorite bubble teas shop to go with friends or even just going there for date. I love it that they use fresh fruits to make their fresh fruits bubble tea. My favorite one is grapefruit bubble and matcha orange with aloe. Definitely try the oat milk latte, it's absolutely best latte I never had anywhere else and the milk texture that staff makes is perfect the way I like. Limered desert is amazing especially matcha tiramisu which is always made freshly at the store. Mike's Pastry is an iconic Italian bakery that has been serving delectable pastries since 1946. Located in Boston, this beloved dessert spot offers a wide array of treats, including cannoli, gelato, biscotti, and oversized cookies. The menu features an impressive selection of cannoli flavors such as Nutella, pistachio, espresso, amaretto, and lemon. Despite being popular among tourists, the wait for their famous cannolis is well worth it.
So happy to see Mike's Pastry's in the train station. There was no line on a Saturday afternoon. We picked up a piece of tiramisu, which was delicious. They had many delicious options to choose from even though this is a much smaller location. We will definitely be back next time we take the train.
Catherine P — Google review
Before I even get to how good the cannolis are… we were stunned by the line at the North End branch, especially after already waiting 45 minutes at Neptune Oyster. So we detoured to this other branch instead. Hardly any wait (just 5 minutes!) and it was worth it. The cannoli was out of this world: crisp shell, rich ricotta filling. I loved the classic ricotta, sometimes less really is more. Highly recommend walking the extra 10 minutes to this branch inside a food court. Bonus: air conditioning and actual seats to enjoy your cannoli in comfort.

Tried a few things here that turned out good. The strawberry cheesecake was great. It was quite rich, but flavorful. The pineapple coconut pastry was also on point. It was lighter but tasted good and wasn't overly sweet. I'd try again for sure.

I have been a customer at Hanover for years. Great cannolis and great service , kind staff, always welcoming customers. Instead, after three times I was al Mike’s Pastry close to North Station , I gave up. I erased that selling point from my list of shops. The lady who is there looks like she does not like her job and like she does not like customers. Never a sign of kindness. Never a word. Always looking at you bothered . If you ask anything she barely answers with an annoyed silent gesture. If you do not see that mute gesture because you are distracted you have to ask again. So, your asking twice can cause a major annoiance. Never any more !

The restaurant is known for its unique dishes such as the olive oil ice cream, which boasts a creamy texture and a delightful balance of saltiness and fruity notes.
Wonderful food! Inventive and unexpected flavor and texture combinations all served by a friendly wait staff (hipster without the attitude). The pasta dishes are fantastic with some the best pasta (flavorful, chewy) I've ever had. A very good wine selection, too. Loud but not so loud that you have to quite shout.

Went there for dinner with some girl friends as we heard great things. We went there a little early for dinner and place was still somewhat empty. We ordered several appetizers and 4 main entrees to share. The appetizer with the fried egg was delicious. We were impressed with the appetizers but underwhelmed by the dinner entrees. The two pasta dishes we had were both super salty and the chicken teriyaki was just average. The service was excellent but we were kindly asked to leave after 2.5 hours so they can seat the next reservation. I guess I understand it's busy, but we wanted to hang out and catch up, and we tipped well and we were willing to order additional drinks. Overall good food but overpriced.

Great server, excellent food, interesting cocktail list, wine list with many new & unusual choices & the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Would return tomorrow. Danielle was our server and steered us very well throughout the meal. Bottle of Cabernet Franc, the carrots with hazelnuts, buckthorn berry jam & pickled mustard seeds was almost as good as the kale with oyster crema, Anaheim peppers & quinoa (which was outstanding!). The Pappardelle bolognese with kale was tremendous: great winter feast. Staff was very friendly. Noticed some acoustic ceiling tiles: may have responded to previous sound issues. There were none tonight.

45mins wait between apps and main course. Asked 3 different people for sparkling water before eventually getting it. Food was cold when it arrived. Burger was finished before the fries so they kept it in foil to keep warm, but then the bun was soggy. Made reservation for this 2 months ago, yet they still put us on the central community table. Really disappointed. I've been here before and it was great. Expectations were not met this time.
Stephen A — Google review
A creative tapas or racion type menu, with combinations of ingredients that would satisfy an LA Silver Lake hipster, variations with things like kale, octopus, carrots, and oyster crema abound; the tattooed martini noisy shakers at the bar produce an incredible variety of cocktails, many of which actually taste delicious and will dampen the shock that you and your date just forked out $60 a piece for Brookline's most creative cuisine. Nevertheless, worth it. What's not worth it is trying to get a reservation: they have yet to learn how to manage their restaurant to maximize their revenue and your gratification; empty tables abound.
Stephen M — Google review
Everything about this place is awesome! The decor, atmosphere, staff and most importantly food. Went here on a Friday night and was lucky enough to score a seat at the bar. The bar staff was really attentive and made great drink recommendations. There were three of us and we did the 3 for 35 special before 6:30. We shared everything and ate way to much food. We even had leftovers! Can't wait to go back there.
Irina O — Google review
In two recent brunch meals, Ribelle's star quality showed: nicely rich Grilled Cheese; Truffle Toast welling a poached egg, with delicious shishito peppers and fontina cheese; superb Loco Moco (Hawaian/Asian style salad-in-a-bowl with sausage pattie, seaweed, farm egg); flavorful Hash Browns latke-style; Pancakes (a tad dry) with lime curd and dried raspberries; a monstrously sinful Cinnamon Roll suitable for a "last meal" or "assisted suicide"; and a very good custard-centered Maple Canele. Other guests liked the smoked Halibut with Tobiko ( flying fish) Cream on a Bagel and the Quiche. Noise and music levels can be high. Service is good.

Paris Creperie, located in Boston Seaport, offers a taste of Paris with its sweet and savory French crepes. The bistro also serves smoothies, caffeinated drinks, and a stacked cocktail menu. Visitors can enjoy petite options for the crepes and try different flavors without feeling overwhelmed by sweetness. The cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for a date night or post-dinner dessert.
Cute little cafe on Harvard. A good selection of both sweet and savory crepes. I had storming the basil (savory) which was delicious. And a Nutella latte, because I could not resist ... also good. The decor is old black and white photos and posters which enhance feeling of France; the music vibes like 60s and 70s French music. I was here just after they opened on a Monday and there was plenty of seating. A few folks got things to go, all orders were dealt with quickly. Worth it for the crepes, the whimsy in some titles of menu items. This also seemed like a place the neighborhood liked (I was only visiting).

My favorite crepe is Nutella with strawberry and bananas (extra ~$1.50 for the fruits), and it didn't disappoint! It was pretty packed with both fruits and Nutella. I'd get it again. We also got the Berry Antoinette, which had a lemon poppyseed crepe that was kind of dry and cold (maybe not freshly made?) but had good sauces and berries. Overall very solid option and I'd come back for the Nutella and fruit crepe!

Cute little, casual place. Has both sweet and savory options. Tried the Mango Smoothie and berry crepe. Both were refreshing and not too sweet. A nice place to catch up and chit chat over some food and drink. It's a quite small place though. Bathroom was pretty well-maintained. Can be dark inside, even on a very bright day, and there is no patio.

A must go place if you are in Coolidge corner area! Food, ambience and service - all 5 stars! My young son had this to say ☺️ - Chocolate crepe was nice and chewy with ample amount of Nutella. Everything tasted amazing, the hot chocolate was fancy!!! The fruits on side (strawberries and bananas) were off putting! The rose decoration was beautiful.
Vaishali K — Google review
The place was nice and clean, but the crepes were disappointing. They had way too much jelly and Nutella, making them extremely sweet and overwhelming to eat. On top of that, I found a banana stem in the crepe, which clearly had not been removed a detail that should not be overlooked in food prep. Unfortunately, I won’t be ordering them again.
Sony V — Google review
Got strawberry matcha and a veganized “Ruth Bader” sweet crepe. The matcha was great but the crepe was a letdown- just a sweet crepe with cinnamon dusted on top. The description mentioned cinnamon butter but I guess it was not vegan so instead of substituting with something, they just serve it with cinnamon on top (and some vanilla syrup around the brim- barely a glaze). Maybe the other sweet crepes will be better!

Love everything about this cafe: authentic Parisian furnishings and art, incredibly kind and attentive staff, and the most artfully prepared and flavorful menu. They went out of their way to care for us, and when I forgot to order gluten free they prepared it anew and wouldn’t charge me; this is outstanding and heartwarming in today’s world. They have my gratitude and devotion. Cannot recommend them highly enough.,

As a French, I know what a good crêpe is, and, after 8 years in coolidge corner eating at Paris crêperie regularly, I can really talk about this place! Paris crêperie has been consistently fresh and good, with original mixes and great flavors, always fresh products, and a good vibe with cool waiters and a good decoration. We love it!

Tatte Bakery & Cafe is a well-known chain in the Boston area, offering a variety of delectable cakes, tarts, pastries, and gourmet coffee. Founded by Israeli baker Tzurit Or, it features Israeli specialties like shakshuka and spicy lamb kebabs alongside its baked goods. The cafe has grown from a home kitchen to multiple locations across the city.
The Tatte in Fenway has a cute, warm interior and a convenient location. It gets very busy, so be prepared to wait for a table, but it's worth it. I loved the lentil soup and the apple crumble cake. It's a great spot for a quick bite or for getting some work or studying done.

Very quick service, best place to grab a quick bite thats always consistent! The chicken veg soup is pretty good, a little lacking in flavor, and their pastries are always consistently great! Definitely my preferred cafe chain around Boston, but be prepared to fight for a seat for most times of the day!

Nice place to use free internet with yummy sweets and drinks. Free cold water was available. But Fresh juice was in bottle. Not freshly squeezed daily I think. It was difficult to find tables. Table was dirty with bread crumbs and I ask them to clean. No one cleaned. So I had to clean myself. Coffee was good cinnamon bread was yummy.

I felt the place was a little over rated. The breakfast was quite fresh. However the cakes and savouries weren’t. It’s a chain all over Boston and could find a tatte at every nook and corner.

The place can get pretty packed, so you may have trouble getting a table. Other than that, I had a great experience. The breakfast croissant was delicious and every ingredient tasted so fresh. The coffee is really nice too. Nice place to have breakfast.

Tatte Bakery & Café in Boston is a must-visit for brunch, coffee, and pastries. I had the ham & cheese sandwich and an iced coffee — both fresh, flavorful, and perfect for a quick bite or a relaxing meal. The café has a bright, cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating, making it a popular spot to study or work on a laptop. Great location, friendly staff, and a menu full of fresh-baked goods, breakfast, and lunch options. Highly recommend for anyone looking for the best coffee shops in Boston. Athan's Bakery is a beloved European-style cafe and bakery located in the serene neighborhood of Brookline, Boston. Originating from Kalamata, Greece, this charming bakery brings a taste of Europe to its patrons. The founder's vision was to recreate the European-style cafe experience in the heart of Boston. Athan's Bakery offers an array of delectable pastries, tarts, baklava, cookies, and gelato made using traditional methods in their European-style kitchen.
Fantastic unique cakes & pastries. Great coffee. Only drawback was that some cakes were defrosting, still a bit cold/frozen inside. EXCELLENT baklava.

i think athan’s is lovely — it’s one of those places you visit because of nostalgia and the need to pacify a craving for some semblance of home. it’s your grandmother’s cookies, it’s the pastries your neighbours bring for every holiday where gift giving is warranted. it’s personal and lovely, and it doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. much could be said about upkeep or service but you come to athan’s for the food, and if you’re coming for something else, then you’re fooling yourself.

The tiramisu is one of the best in Boston + affordable. We also got the lemon + almond cake. Other pastries looks good as well.

Warm and welcoming atmosphere and a go to place for a long study session. The service is wonderful and makes me want to go back every day. The food is quite fresh and the place smells like my childhood. I'm looking foward to coming back here during the school year and getting lots of work done while having a good coffee. Tried a London Fog Tea here for the first time and absolutely loved it!

Super friendly staff, tons of small-group seating, and delicious pastries and treats! If you haven't been, I'd recommend trying the Athan's blend tea along with any of the cake slices. I stop by almost every week and continue to be impressed.

Love love love this cafe! Used to come here almost everyday to work and study. Homeliest, coziest, sweetest little spot with a perfect view of Washington square and the green line. Used to sit by the windows during the snow. Recommend their mango pastry, figo (MUST TRY, BEST THING THEY HAVE) and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.
Faaiza — Google review
Great spot for anyone seeking traditional Mediterranean and European pastries and some of the city's best Baklava. Brookline has a lot of ethnic bakeries and Athan’s is among the local’s favorites. With its classic wooden interior and relatively large seating area, it offers a comforting atmosphere, perfect for a peaceful morning treat. During my recent visit, I was immediately greeted by the attentive staff, who guided me through their variety of Baklava. I got one of each and these bite-sized Baklava pieces were amazing – achieving the ideal balance of density and flakiness, with nutty fillings that were simply sublime. Among these, my favorites were the chocolate walnut and almond varieties. Their cake selection didn't disappoint either. The Napoleon puff pastry was delightful – light, airy, and spongy – while the Amendoa's delicate vanilla sponge and almond flavor was a pleasure. An unexpected highlight was the ham and cheese croissant, served warm from the oven, with enticing cheese crisps at its edges. Overall, a great bakery that serves amazing traditional pastries. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their cake and cookie offerings.

Took our friends here for dessert on Saturday evening, we’re regulars and wanted to show our friends from out of town. The lady serving was borderline rude and rushed through our order so she could get back to the back room chat. JP licks is a Brookline classic, great to stop by for any occasion whether it be after a meal or seeing a movie at the Coolidge theater, it’s always nice to have delicious ice cream! There’s always a large assortment of fresh flavors and they’re much better than the stuff u can find in stores. It’s a great option for a snack and especially awesome in the summer!
Abe W — Google review
I love coming here for a scoop or two (my classic favorite is a pistachio + strawberry, if I'm not enticed by a seasonal special) or cup of coffee. They have Cheryl Ann's challah too! While my usual JP Licks location is the one in JP, my synagogue is in the Coolidge Corner area and an ice cream cake is my go-to for a special oneg once or twice a year on Friday night. I really appreciate being able to bring a big treat like that and have it be gluten free too! It's always a hit for all ages.

I know there were a lot of people, but the customer should be a priority. I politely asked for my ice cream, and the person who served me seemed annoyed and didn't give me the size I requested. She wasn't friendly at all. I hope they improve on that because I bring my own money to pay for what I consume. I love ice cream and I always come to this store.

Great ice cream let down by poor service staff. Came in at night to buy a tub of ice cream back. I asked the staff which flavour was popular and she gave a sarcastic response. When i went to pay, the cashier snatched my $20 note as if it was owed to her. Will not visit again.

Emack & Bolio's is a dessert chain that was founded in 1975 by Bob Rook, a music lawyer who wanted to create a hangout spot for musicians after their gigs. The chain has maintained its rock 'n roll origins and offers unique and outrageous flavor combinations such as grasshopper pie, maple walnut, and deep purple chip.
Emack & Bolio’s ice cream is elite. The fact that this location only has 4.3 stars is astonishing. I’ve never been to an Emack’s that hasn’t been a 5 star experience and location, including this one - so I’m here to hopefully help boost their rating. I got a scoop of the grasshopper pie ice cream, which was delicious as always. No notes - would come back here again.

I don’t really like any of the flavors, but the ice cream was pretty good. Overall the guy who was working there was awesome super friendly super patient.

A funky vibes dessert shop. On the pricey end but ingredients are top-notch. Went for the Cookie Monster ice-cream sundae with the store-made fudge. I hate fudge usually as it’s very artificial tasting however the store has garnered quite a recipe that’s enjoyable without being throat-wrecking. Added choice of toppings at the end, I choose nuts which went down nicely. Recommend to try it. Visited October 2023.

Just visited this ice cream shop and the vegan ice cream is the best I’ve ever had. Creamy and delicious ! Had the chocolate chip s’mores flavor that was recommended by the lovely cashier and it was to die for ! 10/10 . I need one of these shops in RI!!

I had my credit card compromised yesterday here after getting ice cream with my daughter. I wouldn’t make the accusation unless I was certain, and based on card usage, interaction with the server, and observations returning to the empty store I am 100% sure it occurred at this location. Needless to say, the ice cream wasn’t worth the frustration.
Christopher D — Google review
The icecream was good, but not cold enough and wasn’t frozen enough. I had an overall pleasant experience but I think it was just a crowded day for them. Still worth a visit, but it didn’t blow my socks off! They definitely had good looking vegan options, if you’re into that!
Raghav G — Google review
Still great 40 years after first going there! This is the OG flavored waffle cone and mix-ins place before it was even a thing. Quality ice cream, solidly good flavor, nice staff. Don't be fooled by the fancy gelato and Asian ice cream shops... Have the real deal legit quality ice cream here.
Kirsten A — Google review
In the end, I enjoyed the ice cream. But we wouldn’t go back. We got two single scoop waffle cones and paid more than $16. Just not worth it. My chocolate “flake” (it has large chunks, not flakes) had several ice crunches in it. Not fresh. My wife had the s’moreo and enjoyed it. I can see the the ice cream is good, but it could have been better, especially for that much money.

Union Square Donuts is a renowned donut maker that offers a wide range of unique sweet and savory flavors, along with pastries and coffee in a modern, wood-clad setting. With multiple locations including Somerville, Boston Public Market near Faneuil Hall, and Time Out Market in the Fenway area, this establishment serves up fresh, handmade donuts daily. The prices for these delectable treats range from $3.50 to $4.75.
Last week was my first time actually inside the place. You could smell those fresh donuts. Even before you walk in, it was a very small store. You know, 5 people and you feel very crowded. But it's well worth it friendly staff. D*** good Cinnabon, amongst the other donuts. But I love the Simmon rolls.
Ron A — Google review
I very much enjoyed both the donuts and staff at this place. The customer service was wonderful, I could tell that people genuinely enjoyed interacting with their guests. I can see why this place is gaining such a loyal following. The donuts were good and I particularly enjoyed the vegan cinnamon sugar.
Brooks J — Google review
I've been a few times, but the most recent time we ordered these (just last week) they had no flavor and the consistency of cardboard. The strawberry coconut one was plain, and the other donuts we received had such a small coating of frosting that they were also lackluster. We went to Kane's instead and had cheaper, larger, and tastier donuts.
Heather F — Google review
Tried it out! Got the Boston cream and the brown butter cruller. Cruller was a religious experience, truly an awakening and a delight to eat. Boston cream was tasty, especially the frosting, but it was a little too Boston and not enough cream for my personal tastes. Overall: scrumptious ✨
Katherine L — Google review
Food: This location offers 20 columns of donuts on display, meaning they usually offer at least 20 different varieties. Some columns are split in half to fit a few more options as if 20 wasn't enough. The Fenway location has even more choices, with space for 24 columns of donuts. I tried the raspberry jam filled, Belgian dark chocolate, and Boston cream donuts. These are more substantial donuts compared to your typical Dunkin variety. The raspberry jam didn't satisfy me. The jam itself seemed good but it was all just in a small area near the middle. Over half the donut was plain sugar coated and I didn't expect nor enjoy the plain jamless parts. The Belgian dark chocolate wasn't for me either. Together with the brioche, it wasn't my taste. Don't expect it to be a sweet or light don't but give it a try if you enjoy dark chocolate and brioche. The Boston cream is very good; it has the perfect thickness and vanilla sweetness without being too light or overbearingly heavy. Despite not being a fan of the dark chocolate alone like in the Belgian dark chocolate donut, the cream goes really well with the dark chocolate to sweeten it up and also lighten the heaviness of the brioche donut. Drinks: They also serve a selection of men tea here. Service: Fast and simple. No issues at all. Seating: There is a small seating area with a few tables for dining in.
Andrew H — Google review
Nah the donuts aren't good. I've had good brioche donuts before and these aren't it. Tried them like 3 times cuz they look so pretty but that's how they get you to buy them. The people here are chill tho - donuts just suck (burger joint here is 5 stars too)
Matthew R — Google review
I have taken several friends there to try their delicious vegan donuts, but they keep running out. Today was the third time that I made the trip there, only to find that they had sold out of vegan donuts. I love this place and look forward to updating my review to 5 stars when they are more consistently stocked.

You probably didn't need me to tell you that union square donuts rocks, they're a greater Boston institution for a reason. BUT! I'm here to tell you not to sleep on their cake donuts!!! Cake donuts often get a bad rap but union square's cake donuts are unlike any I've had before. Their texture is sublime, with a lightly crisp exterior surrounding a fluffy interior that isn't the slightest bit stodgy. Truly they make all other cake donuts look like jokes by comparison! Please continue making them just like this forever please!!!

I am saving this place in my phone, because I am SO glad I found it!!!! They have challah breads of all kinds: raisin, chocolate chip, onion and poppy seed, large, small, and even teenie tiny rolls! They also have poppyseed pocket cookies that my mom used to love when we were kids. Totally coming back!!! Very friendly staff too :-).

Everything here is about five dollars or more. Besides it being expensive, there isn’t many choices in regards to cookies muffins, those sorts. I got a coffee roll, and I pointed to the ones that looked moist, but she gave me one from another pan. I didn’t think much of it because I thought if it was old then why would you do that to a customer? Well, let me tell you this coffee roll is a stone. It was five dollars and it’s going in the garbage because I cannot eat this as it tastes so dry!! I’m highly disappointed and I won’t be back. I don’t know if she did this on purpose as she did mention that they were a kosher bakery and when she said it, there was some bite to it. Do with that information as you will.

What a find during my visit after walking from Chestnut Hill into Brookline reminiscing about my youth growing up in Boston. My first sight upon looking through the glass door was a case with Black & White AKA Half Moon pastries a personal favorite calling me to come in. I was greeted with top notch hospitality and a warm welcome by Julie who provided exemplary customer service leading to a larger purchase. This place is super clean with all items presented in a clear cut manner with any questions asked answered concisely with immediacy. I returned shortly after my purchase due to the excessive heat and humidity sweating profusely waiting for an Uber pick up and was welcomed once again after asking permission to wait. This time her colleague kindly offered me a cold bottle of water for which I personally thought was the ultimate touch to a positive guest experience. All of the pastries were super yummy and being a vegan the Kosher / Pareve non-dairy trans fat made it more of a pleasure. The quality of baking, taste, and texture of all pictured were truly remarkable! My friend and host during my stay told me there was a fire there and was surprised that I found it and was happy to hear the bakery reopened. He loved it too!!! Keep up the great work, service, and quality pastries!!!

The staff is so friendly and welcoming!! Today I was having such a bad morning..migraine, didn’t have time to eat before work and overall was in a pretty grumpy mood. Decided to stop in for cookie as a treat to brighten up my day a little and the cookie was great but the staff was amazing! So friendly. One of the employees offered me some sample cookies.. she didn’t know it but I only had enough for 1 cookie on my card and this was all I was gonna eat until I finished work. I work alone all day so sometimes these small little interactions make my day the most. Cookies are great and the staff is wonderful. Can’t wait to try the challah bread! Definitely will be back

I went to Serenade Chocolatier on Harvard Street in Brookline Village to get their scrumptious truffles to give out to my guests at a recent special birthday celebration dinner. When I walked into the shop I almost fainted from the divine smell of chocolate! ! The majority of the chocolates are made on the premises. The variety and displays are impressive! Monica, the manager was a sheer delight, so lovely, warm, friendly, patient, extremely helpful, and took so much time to give me special attention. Monica was so creative and the end result was 35 exquisitely wrapped small boxes, each containing 2 truffles, that melted in your mouth!! Each one had the name of an individual guest with the table assignment - beautiful, creative presentation!!! It made a significant impression on my guests and added a special touch to my event! Many thanks Monica!!! Now that I know where you are I will be back to see you often!!!

Every special occasion in our household is accompanied by Serenade!

Great handmade chocolate...great staff. This friendly shop is not only my go-to favorite for self-indulgence, but also for gifts. Their pinata cake is my favorite gift (they ship!) for friends and family. Imagine taking a little mallet and cracking open an artisan molded chocolate cake filled with a variety of handmade chocolates. I'm posting a picture of some chocolates I ordered for Easter; they arrived in great shape; the boxes were pretty, the candy was great. This is a MUST VISIT in the Boston area, but if you can't go in person, go online!
