Asian fusion restaurant
Modern Australian restaurant
Supernormal is a trendy Asian-fusion restaurant in St Kilda, known for its vibrant atmosphere and open kitchen. The menu offers a variety of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean flavors, with options like duck and lamb. Guests can also enjoy karaoke in a dedicated booth after their meal. Andrew McConnell's expertise in Asian cuisine shines through dishes like the lobster roll made with local crayfish and Japanese Kewpie mayonnaise.
Visiting this place from a friend’s recommendation. And tbh, it’s beyond what i expect. Nice food and amazing wine list. Really enjoying a whole dinning experience. Since i’m going solo, i’m happy that some of their menu available for half portion. I order szechuan pickled, chicken prawn dumpling, prawn toast, cold cut chicken, tuna and oyster. Everything is beautiful. Their peanut butter & chocolate desserts is to die for. I mean, what can go wrong with those combos? Surely i will comeback for the next visit.

Although wasn’t intended to visit as my son just needed to go to the toilets but the manager was very nice and kind so we stayed for lunch after knowing it’s an Asian fusion restaurant. The dishes were amazing. Very well plated and cooked. We had a pleasant time.
Yiyun W — Google review
This is my second time at this restaurant, and the food is still just as good. We ordered the lobster burgers and sticky rice cakes again, like last time, and also tried some new dishes. I highly recommend the roast pork—it’s perfectly cooked, soft, juicy, and full of flavor. The dumplings, on the other hand, were a bit too plain and not very impressive. The flounder was an interesting surprise for me. It came with a type of Japanese kombu I hadn’t tried before—it looked grey, turned a little slimy when eaten, and had a very strong taste. Personally, I enjoyed it, but I can see how it might not be

***** Supernormal: My Go-To for a Fantastic Night Out! Supernormal is, quite simply, my favorite spot in the city. After five visits, it remains consistently excellent. Everything, from the moment you walk in, is top-notch. The food is always the star, and I can never go past the lamb, it's always incredible, perfectly cooked, and a dish I look forward to every single time. And let's not forget that amazing little complimentary touch: the soy-roasted pumpkin seeds they bring out at the beginning are addictive! Beyond the food, the ambience is buzzing yet comfortable, the service is always great (attentive but never intrusive), and they truly nail the drinks. Their cocktails are inventive and delicious, and the wine selection is broad and thoughtful. Supernormal delivers a fantastic experience across the board. If you're looking for an unforgettable meal and a great time, this is the place. I can't wait for my sixth visit!

My colleague and I had lunch on Saturday, September 27th. We thought it was a very pleasant venue to get together. The menu is somewhat limited, but we didn't worry about it. The quality was great. We had double portions of the Lobster roll ( 2 each), the Duck leg, and the Scallops. Prepare to pay premium prices. We were seated at the counter which isn't convenient for personal conversations. ( hence 4 stars). The staff were very accommodating ( The manager (?) in the black suit and glasses was a typical and a professional host. Compliments to the Sommelier. Delightful wine list and the Medhurst Chardonnay 2024 ( Yarra Valley) was such a great accompaniment with the lobster rolls.

Friday night 5pm no reservation no problem. Grand Final eve so the vibe was great. Excellent Gin Martini served politely and professionally by Jez I think? Snake Bean side excellent, Prawn Toast and Lobster roll A1…. but what brought me to tears literally with some Umami taste stimulated dopamine hit …was a special dish of a Shark Bay WA Scallops. Seaweed butter torched on shell with some sort of Culinary Voodoo inspired seasoning it became immediately the most delicious thing I’ve eaten in decades. We hastily ordered another serve. Having been reviewed weekly in my own hospitality environment I am not prone to thrashing out reviews for reviews sake. Truly exceptional experience food and service.

My partner and I went to supernormal which is a Melbourne institution for Asian fusion. We sat at the bar/open kitchen and its great to see your food being cooked and plated right in front of you. Service and food where on point but in my opinion the dishes are overly sauces. Personally I just find my pallet in over driver after every dish. Don't get me wrong eveything was delicious! Do give this place a try~
Jono K — Google review
Booked for dinner here for two having been a while back as part of a larger group and wanted to share the experience. I'd originally booked a table for 8:15 but managed to move it to a bar sitting at 7:00 which suited much better and the staff were very flexible with helping with that. It's a buzzing place and the one thing we made comment on was that there was just the incredible sound and atmosphere of people chatting and enjoying themselves, without any heavy overbearing music anywhere. Made it very easy to chat and enjoy and discuss everything we were eating. We went for the set menu option 1 so we could try a little of everything and have to say that overall it was outstanding. The only dish that seemed to lack a little in our opinion was the chicken, which unfortunately was the main course, although the selection of dishes we had been served up to then didn't make this a massive disappointment, and in fact we asked for the chicken to be packed to go with us. Desert was a wonderfully decadent dish and the perfect finish. Will definitely be looking to come here again and try a variety of other dishes.

Cake shop
LuxBite is a bakery in Melbourne that skillfully combines French baking techniques with Asian flavors to create unique and visually stunning cakes. Their Lolly Bag Cake, featured on Masterchef, showcases their playful approach to dessert making by incorporating classic confectionary into a seven-layer masterpiece. The Endless Love cake, with rose moisturizer, lychee ganache, raspberries & lychees, exemplifies their expertise in blending different flavors and textures.
I had an enjoyable experience at this cake shop. The grapefruit tea, priced at $3 per cup, is very refreshing. Easter cakes are so cute and came in four varieties: - Adorable little yellow chicks, looks like just-hatched-from-an-egg 🐣 - Carrot 🥕 - loved by the cute bunny. - Chocolate eggs with white angel wings attached. - There's also a hidden design featuring the little bunny – unfortunately, it was still a work in progress when I visited. Well, maybe next time. Opted for the white mousse cake for a birthday celebration, and everyone thinks it’s deliciousness. The texture is delicate, not overly sweet, with a refreshing mango flavor and crunchy hazelnuts. 💖

Ordered the Signature Tea Set from LuxBite via Uber Eats, and honestly, it was just average. It looked fancy, but the flavors didn’t match up—felt like it was more about presentation than taste. Nothing stood out, and it lacked the richness I was expecting. Probably wouldn’t order again.
Shruti K — Google review
Both desserts I tried were so delicious, especially the kuma one. They were both $13.50 each even though the heart one was quite a bit smaller. The interior was very clean and there was lots of seating. Would recommend visiting !

Absolutely love this cake plus pastry shop! The cakes are delicious, beautifully crafted, and not overly sweet. The croissants are incredibly flaky, and there's a wide variety of flavors to choose from. Highly recommended!

Heaven for the sweet tooths. 😍 Amazing variety. A place where you wanna go for Instagram as well as your heart. Loved the desserts with an Asia twist 🍰 If you're a fan of durian cream croissants and boba croissants, this is the place for you. The Endless Love macaron is a true standout.

one of my favourite cake and dessert cafes 10 years ago and safe to say it’s still just as good! The cakes are luxurious, presentation and taste is on point- with a lot of attention and detail put into each cake. The chocolate is tempered well and they have nice flavour combinations, perfect treat for any special occasion. They’re currently doing a limited edition Easter cake series and that includes the: 🍴Chick me out ($14.88) Mango mousse with tropical exotic fruits jelly, coconut dacquoise, yellow chocolate glaze 🍴Easter Egg ($13.88) White chocolate mousse, milk chocolate ganache with soft caramel spread, caramel chocolate shell 🍴Carrot Baby ($13.88) Jaffa dark chocolate mousse with orange jelly, orange chocolate shell with green sponge Our favourite was probably the Easter Egg, classic flavour combinations done well! The designs are soooo cute and perfect for this Easter! It’s nice to see their popular cakes have remained permanent items, I loved their giant raspberry macaron and matcha cake - loved it many years ago and I still enjoy it- flavours are light, well balanced and not too sweet, they have a refreshing element to it with a nice contrast through layers of different textures and flavours. We also tried the- 🍴I heart you ($11) Light vanilla mousse, elderflower jelly, strawberry compote, yoghurt and almond crunchy base 🍴Uji Matcha Cheesecake ($10) Uji matcha joconde, Japanese rice wine, pistachio ganache, cream cheese, salted matcha crumble with a matcha and pistachio macaron 🍴Endless love ($11.50) Giant Macaron with lychee ganache, rose cream, lychee and fresh raspberries 🍴Epic chocolate cravings ($9.50) Dark chocolate cake with hazelnut crust, chocolate truffle filled with salted caramel and dark chocolate and gold garnish 🍴Pandan coconut and salted caramel macaron ($3) ☕️Grape Ice Tea ($3)

Tried the salted egg croissant. Very tasty and unique. Also ordered a chai latte, it was made with fresh spices however seemed to lack flavour and was rather milky

Bakery
Tori's is a charming bakery with a vintage feel, offering a delightful escape from the city rush. The cozy ambiance invites guests to relax with a book while enjoying an array of coffee, hojicha, and premium matcha. Their selection of home-baked cakes and treats includes lychee shortcake, madeleines, banoffee pie, and black sesame cheesecake.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – The Best Matcha Strawberry & Cheesecake in Melbourne, Hands Down If you’re a matcha lover, Tori’s in Melbourne absolutely needs to be on your radar. I came here for their signature iced matcha strawberry, and I can confidently say — it’s arguably the best in Melbourne. The matcha is smooth, perfectly balanced, and the addition of fresh strawberry takes it to another level. It's refreshing, rich, and honestly addictive. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by their front cabinet of cakes, and it's impossible not to be blown away. Everything looks stunning — but more importantly, they taste just as good as they look. I got the whole matcha cheesecake, and to this day, it’s the best matcha cheesecake I’ve had in Melbourne — and anywhere in Australia, full stop. Creamy, earthy, perfectly sweet — it hits every note just right. You really have to try it to understand how good it is. Tori’s has earned its reputation, and it’s easy to see why — their matcha drinks and desserts truly speak for themselves. I still need to explore more matcha spots around town, but so far, Tori’s holds the #1 spot for me. Highly, highly recommend!
Aj P — Google review
This place is really popular, but it was just okay for me. We ordered two slices of cake — the premium matcha was rich and definitely my favourite. The cakes weren’t too sweet, which is good for those who prefer lighter flavours.
Ijaykay — Google review
Average strawberry shortcake with a hefty price tag ($14 on weekday; surcharges apply - 10% on weekends, 15% on public holiday). Don’t get me wrong - it’s tasty. Has the potential to make a good strawberry shortcake with its light cream (cake moisture could be better). However, nothing outstanding. Won’t be returning for it with this price tag. Did not try other beverages. Overall - Cafe was bustling with decent line on a Monday afternoon (4pm). Cute atmosphere in the cafe but you’re on your own to scout for seats (only after you order at the counter). Lady at counter is cheerful and takes your order with a smile despite the snaking queue (keep it up!)
Kaitlyn Q — Google review
The best strawberry matcha I’ve had in Melbourne 🍓 I have a sweet tooth, so this might be too sweet for some and the other cabinet food was good. The service could be better - wasn’t asked it if I was dining in or takeaway and had to grab mini plates and wooden utensils myself. Though it makes sense because they are popular and have to work through long queues.
Gianna — Google review
Unreal matcha drinks and patisserie! I highly recommend EVERYTHING if you are matcha OBSESSED! Sidenote — beware consuming too much high quality matcha in one sitting, in my experience, it can hinder and slow digestion.
Amy A — Google review
A popular cafe in a small alleyway. Both cakes look so beautiful. The garlic bread is 10 out of 10. It was freshly baked and still warm when we ate it.
Xinyu W — Google review
This Jap cafe near the CBD area is quite popular, drawing a queue even on weekdays. I had high hopes for authentic Jap beverages, but I was disappointed to find that their premixed matcha was sweet and the dessert was on the sweeter side. I was reassured it won’t be too sweet when I checked in before I placed my order. The experience was further marred by the poor service. The staff at the counter didn’t even bother to ask if my order was for dine-in or takeout; they simply assumed everyone wanted takeout. When I requested dine-in, I still received a takeout order. He made no efforts in assisting me to get a seat. The service was terrible, and with average food and drinks at a higher price tag, I would imagine it is hard to revisit or recommend this cafe. There is better matcha cafe in this city.
Y T — Google review
I looove Tori’s! I bring people here all the time and also come myself when I need a little break and a realllly good matcha! The cakes are so beautiful and delicious, you can watch the bakers in the kitchen from the seating areas. The matcha is all hand whisked with traditional whisks and matcha bowls. An iced matcha + a slice of cake is around $25 depending which kind you get (cake slices are around $14, iced oat matcha is $9-10 I think) but it’s such a nice cafe that it’s worth it to me! There is limited seating so come early in busy periods as can be hard to sit down! There will likely be a line out the door but it moves pretty fast. The staff are all lovely and have made an effort to remember my name as I come here a lot! The couches are comfy old seats that bring a real cosy homey feel. The air conditioning is amazing in here and perfect for a hot day! There’s also nice merchandise available to purchase and cute plants around! Highly recommend if you’re ever in the city ☺️

LeTAO Melbourne, the flagship store of a Hokkaido-based brand, opened in Melbourne last year. The shop offers a variety of cheesecakes including their signature Double Fromage and exclusive items like Neige Blanc and Snow Cake. Their milk and cheese-swirled soft serve is a must-try, especially when paired with Market Lane coffee.
I paid about $15 for this ice cream and cheesecake. It is super delicious. They mix the cheesecake into the ice cream which is banging. Came here a second time and they had run kut of thr half and half ice cream and cheesecake. Still good though!

One of our favourite recent finds. We’ve bought our last two birthday cakes from here, and the size is truly perfect for the two of us. Something we can enjoy during the night and for a few days to come. We bought their recent seasonal cakes and enjoyed both, with the Yuki Akari being our shared favourite. A perfect balance of sweet and creamy, light and refreshing. Pick-ups have been smooth, and the staff are polite and kind. We appreciate the late opening hours, which has meant that we can pick up our cakes after dinner. What we’ve ordered: 🍊 Yuki Akari – $49 🍓 Strawberry Double Hokkaido Ichigo – $45

Absolutely loved their cakes! 🎂 Super soft, light, and not too sweet — just perfect. Even my mum loved it!

One of the nicest dessert shops I’ve found so far. Their cheesecakes and ice cream are so delicious. Nice and friendly staff. Very fine and modern setting. Highly recommended.
Khalid A — Google review
Dropped by LeTao and tried their soft serve — it was rich, creamy, and paired perfectly with their signature cheesecake. We wanted to try more of their cakes, but unfortunately, they were only sold as whole cakes. Since there were just two of us, we were worried we wouldn’t be able to finish it. Hopefully, they’ll offer cake slices in the future — we’d love to try more! Still, a great experience overall and highly recommended for dessert lovers.
John T — Google review
LeTAO Melbourne is the kind of pâtisserie that makes you spark up a grin the moment you catch sight of the display. You step in off high street foot traffic and instantly the warm glow of glass cases stacked with dainty sweets and signature cheesecakes welcomes you. The noise and pace of the street drift away, replaced by soft instrumental music and the scent of fresh cream and baked sugar. Staff greet you quickly, letting you pause at the counter to decide without feeling rushed, the vibe relaxed even when there’s a queue forming. Sweets here carry a reputation, and for good reason. The Double Fromage cheesecake arrives with a delicate, baked top and a melt-in-your-mouth interior that balances tang, sweetness, and that buttery crumb base. Mochis filled with fresh berry creams are fragrant and light, contrasting beautifully with the richer mont blanc or chocolate gâteau. Every slice is presented with care, and even the garnishes look practiced rather than slapped on. Drinks support the sweets rather than compete: espresso is smooth and balanced, and the hot milk tea comes lightly sweet and creamy, perfect for cutting through rich flavors. A few tips. Visit during mid-afternoon or early evening when it’s less crowded; mornings can get busy with walks in for coffee. Space is cozy, so it’s best for solo indulgence or small groups. Prices lean toward the premium side, but considering the quality and the artistry, they feel fair if you treat this as a tiny treat-me moment rather than everyday. Perfect for picking up a celebratory slice, treating a friend, or saving a little luxury for yourself in the middle of a busy day.
Le G — Google review
We tried their ice-cream + cheesecake bowl and were completely blown away. The dessert was rich, smooth and beautifully balanced. There is usually a short queue but clearly worth the wait. The store design is impressive - clean, minimalist, with stone and concrete style finishes that make the desserts stand out like works of art. You can sample different desserts before buying. Also, they serve soft-serve ice cream in milk or cheese flavours, and many of the cheesecakes are shipped from Japan and then thawed or served fresh in the store. Overall, if you love premium desserts and a stylish café environment, LeTAO Melbourne delivers. The craftsmanship, flavour and setting all combine to create something memorable.

Italian restaurant
Bar
Restaurant
Tipo 00 is a cozy Italian restaurant located in a charming laneway, offering an intimate dining experience with an open kitchen and marble bar. The establishment is known for its coveted bar seats and European bistro hours, allowing patrons to enjoy dishes like pan-fried calves' livers and golden polenta chips. The menu features a variety of handmade pasta dishes, including midnight squid ink tagliolini with tender squid and casarecce with pork sausage and radicchio.
Tipo 00 is such a treat! The stracciatella & grilled ox tongue set the tone beautifully as starters — full of flavour, great texture, and just downright delicious. Every bite just hits right. I then ordered the pasta, and wow — the squid ink tagliolini had a lovely touch of spice & was cooked to absolute perfection, perfectly al dente with layers of deep bottarga flavour. I also got the braised duck pappardelle - and it was rich, savoury, and incredibly satisfying — that kind of stuff that makes you pause between bites just to enjoy it. And of course, I couldn’t leave without the “tipomisu” — super rich, extra creamy, and the ultimate way to wrap up such a great meal. The restaurant space might be on the smaller side, but it feels warm and inviting with its open kitchen and bustling energy. Add in the fantastic service and an impressive lineup of wines, and you’ve got yourself one of those Italian places that is a must visit. Absolutely loved it — highly recommend!
Joshua W — Google review
To me, it was very average and overpriced. The music was too loud, it was overcrowded and noisy, not a good place to catch up with friends. The pasta was good but not impressive. They charged $18 for one king prawn, and it was overcooked. The tiramisu was way too rich and sweet. Service was minimal. No one checked on us to see if everything was okay. The staff weren’t very friendly and made us feel like they wanted us gone as soon as possible so they could serve the next customers. I don’t think I’ll be back.
Sofia V — Google review
My family and I were in Melbourne for a week and there were no reservations but we were lucky enough to nab a table as a walk in and we were not disappointed. Tipo00 lives up to the hype. We had a great waitress from NZ. The food oh the food. It was faultless. It was delicious. The flavours were incredible. I love this place. The chef's really know what they are doing and that reflects in the dishes. The produce they used was excellent. For such a small kitchen the dishes are superb. This place deserves the excellent reputation it has. Thank you Tipo00. You more than hit the spot x
Vicwa — Google review
I love this place for its consistency, always elite service and exceptionally high standards for food. I enjoy trying new restaurants, but I just know I’ll have a great meal every time I go to Tipo 00. It’s a smaller restaurant, so I don’t bring my kids here as the tables are quite close together, but that actually adds to the cosy, intimate atmosphere. The squid ink pasta is divine, and the octopus was perfectly cooked. The dessert was decadent without being too rich, the perfect end to a meal. Their Negroni is always spot on, and the staff never disappoint. It’s super easy to get to in the CBD, great if you’re visiting Melbourne and staying nearby. For locals, street parking can be tricky, so I’d recommend using Melbourne Central or another nearby parking garage and walking down. I’ve also had a ceviche here (I think it was kingfish?) that was wonderful. Highly recommend this spot, a true Melbourne gem!
Jasmine F — Google review
Tipo 00 had been on my list for quite some time, and with how busy it gets, booking in advance is definitely required. It’s known as a true institution of Italian dining in Melbourne, and overall, it lived up to its reputation. We ordered five dishes plus the complimentary focaccia. Complimentary Focaccia (4.5/5) – I didn’t expect much since it was complimentary, but it was fantastic. Served warm, with a pesto and cheese combination that worked beautifully together. Simple but so well done; I’ll definitely be recreating that at home. Tuna Crudo (1/5) – This was on the specials menu, and we decided to try it out. The price wasn’t mentioned, but it turned out to be around $60 (if I remember correctly) for six small pieces, roughly $10 each. The dish itself was very average, nothing out of the ordinary, and definitely not worth the price. Felt like a bit of a rort, to be honest. Grilled Ox Tongue (3.5/5) – As a big fan of ox tongue, I had to try it. Unfortunately, it was just okay. The thinly folded slices lacked that chewy texture I enjoy, and the sauce was a little overpowering, masking the natural beef flavour. Linguine with Moreton Bay Bug (4/5) – The linguine was spot on; perfect texture and bite. The sauce was rich and full of flavour, though I would’ve preferred the bug served in its shell for presentation and juiciness. Some pieces were a little dry from being mixed into the pasta, but still very tasty overall. Pappardelle with Braised Duck (4.5/5) – The standout of the night. The pasta was beautifully al dente and clung perfectly to the sauce. The duck was tender, and the porcini added great depth of flavour. Tipomisu (3.5/5) – Tipo’s version of tiramisu was enjoyable but overly sweet. The chocolate overpowered the coffee flavour, and I think a bit more mascarpone would have balanced it better. Overall, Tipo 00 delivered on quality and craftsmanship with a few standout dishes, but also a few misses. Despite the disappointing crudo, I’d still come back for their pastas and that focaccia.
Mathew H — Google review
Tipo 00 deserves a 5 out of 5 rating for an exceptional dining experience. To start, I ordered the Lingua (ox tongue, balsamic & pink peppercorn), which was rich and flavorful. For the main course, the Tagliolini al nero (squid ink tagliolini, squid and bottarga) was perfectly cooked with a delightful depth of taste. We also tried the daily special, sea urchin and abalone spaghetti, and were thrilled by the freshness of the seafood. A tip for fellow visitors: there is often a queue outside the bistro about 15 minutes before it opens at 11:30am. It’s wise to either make a reservation (deposit required) or arrive early for a chance at a walk-in table.
Michelle H — Google review
The staff are professional yet warm and welcoming. All of my allergies are catered too without any hesitation, which is huge given I am a Celiac and anaphylactic to nuts. The pasta is delicious. Always on my to visit list when we go to Melbourne.

Nestled within the chic confines of the Adelphi Hotel, Om Nom is a dessert haven that promises an unforgettable culinary experience. This unique venue specializes in theatrical cocktails and innovative desserts that are as visually stunning as they are delicious. One of their signature offerings, the Adelphi Seasonal Dessert, features a delightful mango passionfruit mousse sphere paired with lime sable and mandarin gel, topped off with freeze-dried pineapple and coconut nitro for an interactive dining experience.
Om Nom was originally a stunning dessert bar. Was hands down my favourite in Melbourne. The last few years they have changed to a cocktail bar, and whilst I miss their uber creative desserts, I love their current flair. Have been here countless times for both their high tea and cocktails, and will continue to keep coming back

ORDERED: High tea ($79.00pp) 🥪 Savoury: Gougere, pork sausage roll with seeded mustard, boudin en croute, prawn roll en croute, truffle egg sandwich, ribolitta with saffron aioli and pecorino, mushroom arancini with tarragon mayonnaise 🦢 Sweet: Entrement, carrot & walnut financier, passionfruit & coconut layer cake, salted caramel chocolate truffles, macaron, chantilly swan, scones with jam & cream REVIEW: It was a pleasant surprise to see Om Nom operating outside of dessert hours - they offer high tea at $79pp basic package without card & weekend surcharge!! 🍵 ❤ Incredibly filling selection of food. I found that anything mushroom flavoured (truffle egg sandwich & mushroom arancini) was absolutely delicious. Om Nom pulled the earthy, umami flavour of mushrooms so well! 🍄 The rest of the savoury selection were decent. From the sweets, the stand out was the chantilly swan. Unfortunately I was too full and didn't get to try everything (cry!! 😭) but the chantilly swan had an amazing lightness that was easy to consume. It had a beautiful construction that felt like I was eating a piece of art. 🎹 With the live piano playing in the background, it was an elegant place to celebrate my friend's bridal shower. The sweets tier also came out with a lovely Congratulations message. Thank you!! Atmosphere wise - great place to have a girls catch up but the lighting is a little too yellow for our liking (photos don't come out flattering).

Love the setting, and the art / theatre of the signature cocktails. I would of given this place 4 or 5 stars, however we were a little miss lead as they are not a dessert bar as some of the photos show on the reviews. Very much recommended for cocktail and small nibbles. Thanks for the experience and friendly service.

What an amazing place! Sensationally crafted desserts with an eclectic array of flavours. 100% worth a visit, but you must book ahead. Expensive for the size, but the novelty factor makes it very worthwhile regardless. Staff also provided a detailed description of the dessert as it was brought out to us. Incredible stuff, definitely coming back!

Went with family for a nice High Tea (we got the standard package with the sparkling) and the food was sensational. The savoury dishes were absolutely amazing. The sweets were great as well. As I have personally lost my massive sweet tooth, some of the desserts were quite sweet for my current liking but as someone who appreciates a good dessert they were tasty and amazing. The complimentary tea/coffee is a must with the desserts. The range of teas were exquisite. The ambiance and staff was lovely, and enjoyed the relaxing afternoon Saturday. Some people might say the experience is expensive and portions are on the smaller size but honestly you're paying for the experience, the ambiance and it is a High Tea not a bottomless brunch.

We have a wonderful night to celebrate my husband’s birthday here. You’ll never regret to having dinner at Om Nom Kitchen , dishes and desserts are look like pieces of art and taste delicious. Staff are helpful and friendly , especially restaurant manager and bar tender, they both take a good care of us. After the birthday dinner, we visited again on the next night for the signature cocktail, girls night out and toothpaste Mojito!! We love it!

Nestled in Flinders lane within the Adelphi hotel is a Spectacular kitchen Om Nom. Besides standout dishes we came to visit it’s famed dessert bar. Pure artwork on a plate. The menu is highly creative, beautifully plated and is refreshed regularly. We had the Cherry Poppins, a signature dessert with a glazed cherry filled mousse, tempered chocolate stem, chocolate crumble soil, with filled raspberries. Decadent, rich, surprising. a beautiful strawberry dessert and a pineapple based dessert was ordered by my friends. All 3 unique, impressive and surprising. Each dessert will set you back $25-28 but is worth it. Don’t miss this one if you are looking for something unique. Booking ahead highly recommended. Very friendly staff who make you feel welcome.

I ordered two savoury dishes - the scallops were probably the best that I've ever tasted - and so was the asparagus. The desserts were delightful, I ordered the cigars, which was a theatrical treat even if the cigars themselves didn't blow me away. The biggest disappointments were the beverages - the kiwifruit drink was too sweet and the apple oolong tea was exceptionally bland.

Ice cream shop
Gelato Messina Fitzroy is a must-visit destination for gelato lovers, boasting an impressive selection of over 40 inventive flavors. This celebrated gelato shop features trendy decor that perfectly complements its vibrant offerings. With multiple locations across Australia, including three in Melbourne, Gelato Messina has become synonymous with indulgence and creativity in the world of frozen treats.
Ice cream was a slight too sweet for me but the experience was incredible! Entered the shop with upbeat music, way too many flavours to choose from and such friendly staff. I asked them what flavour do they recommend and she immediately gave me a taste of the flavour, decent ice cream size and the texture is milky and creamy. Very comfortable place to hangout as it has plenty of seats and the glass window that let you see the production of the ice cream, very cool ice cream shop!
Kitty C — Google review
Gelato messina fitzroy is located at a beautiful and peaceful place in Melbourne. Plenty of flavours and sorbets to choose from but not all the flavours are nice at all. Pandan coconut was too sweet and the flavour actually did not match well. The ice-cream with hazelnut was not well too. The nut in the ice-cream certainly did not taste like hazelnut. I hope they look into the flavours again.
LiV3 L — Google review
Delicious selection of vegan options! Highly recommend the pandan and coconut! And chocolate sorbet. The workers in here were under the pump, but appreciated their help and patience, considering all the taste testing and questions they continuously get.

This is the most awesome Gelato that I have ever tasted in Melbourne. My family visited this place for the first time as a family, since it is our family holiday. I ordered the Super Dulce De Leche, + Pear and Rhubarb (2 scoops). Firstly, there is so many choices to choose from, that you will be spoiled with choices, because of GELATO. Second, the person in charge there during yesterday evening, that I think is an expert. She really knows HER GELATO!!! She said that she has been working in the ice cream industry for 11 years already, and i sometimes saw her advising on the pairing of Gelato flavours. And thirdly, Gelato really tasted creamy, not too sweet (for me), tasty and yummy. It is just delicious. After i finished my Gelato, i sat there for while to observe her working enthusiasm. I was admiring her enthusiasm working there, she connects with her customers, sometimes chatting more with them. Then she goes to the back to handle some work stuff, but she always kept herself busy at the counter, wiping the gelato screens, wiping the table where the cartons are being placed, making coffee, etc, and also informed customers that she will be right back once she has finished an order. What a good, admirable of an employee to have MESSINA. Well done.

We visited Gelato Messina in Fitzroy after a friend's recommendation, and I can confidently say it lived up to the hype! We tried the mango, coconut, and chocolate chip flavors, and each one was absolutely delicious. The quality of the gelato is exceptional, and I can see why so many people rave about this place. The variety of vegan flavors is impressive, making it a great spot for everyone. The environment is inviting, with plenty of seating options to enjoy your treats. Overall, I highly recommend Gelato Messina, and I can't wait to go back and try more flavors!

Bakery
Lune Croissanterie, located in Melbourne CBD, started as a small shop in Elwood where locals would line up early to get their hands on the exquisite croissants. The owner, Kate Reid, with a background in aerodynamics, used her technical skills to perfect the art of croissant making. Now housed in a larger bakery in Fitzroy, Lune has gained international acclaim and is considered by some as possibly offering the best croissants globally.
As I started to write this review I’ve asked myself a few times if waiting in the line was worth it - and I keep coming back to ‘yes.’ The line can get long, we waited about 20-25 minutes, but there’s a reason why so many people are visiting. The pastries are fantastic and the coffee is even better. Coffee was definitely the highlight for me. If you have the time I suggest stopping by Lune.
Warren W — Google review
I was here for at least 3 times over a week during my holidays here in late July. That explains how good the pastry here is. Tasted almost everything that is offered here. Price is on the high side, but the quality made it up. This cafe is a bit small, more suitable for takeaway or a quick bite before you move on. There is road side parking just right in front of the cafe so it is very convenient for those who drives.
Alan T — Google review
Finally tried Lune as I’m usually buying from Agathe or South Melbourne bakery. We tried a few and the quality is good, crunchy and soft. Our favourite was the ham and cheese, absolutely delicious. Always wondered about the line every weekend and then we saw how small it is on the inside. Quality might have something to do with it too. They’re expensive but what isn’t these days. Service was excellent. Thank you 🙏
Anthony N — Google review
A famous croissant shop in Australia — today I finally got to try the Melbourne branch! Luckily, the queue wasn’t too long. The croissants were delicious and lived up to their reputation — perfectly crisp and flaky. If you love that crunchy texture, you’ll probably enjoy these. Personally, I think if the line were much longer, it might not feel that worth the wait, but the quality is definitely good. The prices are on the higher side, though still reasonable given the large portion size. My favorite was the original, while the almond one was also nice. I also tried the chocolate but found it just okay — the lemon one, however, was really well done! 🥐🍋
Gwamiyan — Google review
I finally had the chance to visit this place, and what I loved most were the coffee and the fresh, delicious pastries. There's not much else to say—it's a small, mostly takeaway spot. I wasn't actually aware of that beforehand, which was a bit of a surprise 😅. The place has a minimalist vibe, and I really appreciated how the menu was displayed on the table—very easy and thoughtful. I guess I was expecting a coffee shop with tables and chairs but overall, the coffee and pastries were fantastic. It was quite a busy spot, but that just shows how popular it is!
Ayushi S — Google review
I usually am pretty forgiving in reviews but with such a famous establishment I am sad to say it was…meh. I went with a group of 5 people, one of them was me. Two of them got coffee, I asked one to write what they thought of it and they wrote “With a lack of coffee milk options and an extraction that tastes sour despite being based on good Ona beans, it feels like Lune needs to focus on good coffee to pair with their excellent pastries.” To sum it up in their words ”the coffee was shit”. Some would say that Lune is about the pastries and not the coffee and I agree, I am sad to say the pastries were meh. My friend said it wasn’t worth it and I have to agree. At an average of $6 to $8 a pastry, they felt more created to look nice than taste good. In fact I would say they rely on looks, from the ridiculous lines, them making the pastries in front of you and of course the beautiful looking pastries.
Zachary C — Google review
The service at Lune was great, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The croissants are definitely on the pricier side, and I would have liked the option to have them toasted given the cost. That said, I understand it’s a very busy spot so it might not be practical. Seating would have been nice, though I do appreciate the unique standing experience they offer. The option of sparkling and still water on tap is a great touch. We ordered two almond croissants, which were beautifully made and clearly high quality, but overall I’m not sure they fully justified the price.
Sasha G — Google review
Ordered an almond and classic crossiant. Almond is a 5 on 5. Flaky, perfect amount of sweetness and good taste of almond. The classic crossiant was a 3 out of 5. A little soggy for my liking. People who like crossaint on the more flaky and crispy end, might not like it. Sorry I was so excited, I ate it first and then took the pictures 😂

Mister Nice Guy's Bakeshop in Ascot Vale, Melbourne is a must-visit for dessert lovers. Despite the terms 'vegan' and 'allergy-friendly,' their cakes are so delicious that you won't miss eggs or dairy. Their creative cake names like Holy Biscoff and Unicorn Milkshake match the inventive flavors.
My partner and I picked a few things to takeaway from the window and they were all incredible! I love how everything is labelled nicely, as well as the GF options, and the owners were so lovely. Definitely coming back to try the subs and shakes!

We drove a long way to visit this vegan bakery. Great service with good energy vibes from who I assume was the owner. Slightly disappointed that not all the deli options that were listed in their website were available (had 4 sub options but no bagels?). We went for the Meatball Sub and a Chick’n schnitzel Sub. They were very very filling. Could have shared one between us to be honest! Meatball sub for the win! Love how they segregate the bakery items so nut free are on their own shelves. Makes it so much easier. Well done. We bought some desserts for takeaway. Glazed donut, cinnamon donut and Portuguese tarts. Glazed bad boy for the win! Oh and coffees were very good as Happy Happy Soy Boy is one of the best milks for latte.

My go to for birthday cakes - always amazing! Love the flavours, the presentation and of course knowing it’s 100% vegan. All Are Welcome in Northcote, Australia, is a bakery known for its high-quality bread and pastries. The establishment was once a 1950s Christian Reading Room and has since been transformed into a popular local gem. The bakery offers an array of freshly baked goods from various European regions, including sweet pastries like ensaimadas from Spain and medovnik from the Czech Republic.
The most popular bakery on High St! 🔥 Their bread is super famous here. I went a bit late, so only the regular options were left. Tried the Za'atar Feta & Honey Twist—fragrant, crispy, savory, and sweet all at once. Definitely something I'd go back for! The vibe is amazing too. People sitting in the sunlit alley, sipping coffee, chatting away. The perfect spot to unwind and soak in that relaxed atmosphere. ☀️

Great cafe that was buzzing on a weekend afternoon. We tried the sausage roll and nothing about it was ordinary - the tomato sauce was like a tomato x spicy salsa combo and the pastry and sausage was incredible!! We also tried the bread and butter pudding which was quite good but quite soggy (I think it is meant to be like that. I just hadn’t tried a bread and butter pudding before) The coffee was quite good and smooth, vibes and atmosphere was quite relaxed. Note this is a bakery not really a cafe so seating is fairly limited and it’s mostly for coffee and pastries, not like brunch etc!

And let's not forget about the sausage roll! A good sausage roll can be hard to come by, but they’ve nailed it. There were so many other tempting options as well, like the 🍐 Pear Danish, 💛 Passion Fruit Cream, 🧀 Pistachio Basque Cheesecake, and more!

Cute bakery. Lots of sweet and savoury treats unfortunately when I took the photo it was after lunch time so a lot of them have sold out. The coffee is really good and the service was fantastic. The bread loaves on the shelves look really good so will cone back for them. Had the croissant and the pistachio and pomegranate friand this time, both fantastic. Not the cheapest place to get treats but well worth the money.

I got the Morning Bun and Pistachio and Lemon Curd Twice Baked Croissant. Both were delicious. Hopefully it’s just a one-off because of lockdown because their pastries are delicious.

From purple yam with caramelized coconut curds to avocado condensed milk, the small batch shop presents an array of innovative and exciting flavors. Tried Kariton Sorbetes and had their ube halaya. It was rich, creamy, and packed with that classic ube flavour I love. The texture was smooth and not overly sweet, letting the ube really shine through. A great spot if you’re looking for unique, high-quality Filipino-inspired ice cream. Definitely worth stopping by!

Unique, Filipino-inspired ice cream flavors. I had the buko pandan, which I absolutely loved. It was so unique. I did try a few others and they were alright. I wish I had a chance to try the ube one, but it was sold out. The seating area is pretty cool. They’re just small, short plastic seats, which adds to the vibe of the place. The server was also really cool and friendly.

Tarts Anon is a popular tart business founded by Gareth Whitton, former head pastry chef of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. The shop offers classic flavors like chocolate and caramel tarts, as well as more contemporary options such as tiramisu, smoked pecan and maple, pumpkin spiced caramel, and carrot cake tarts. These delectable treats are known to sell out quickly at their pick-up only locations in Cremorne and Collingwood.
Fantastic tarts as always. The pistachio cream in the pistachio saint honore was just a bit bitter but other than that it was perfect and had the perfect crust. The raspberry jasmine tart was also divine, with the jasmine flavour shining through and working well with the raspberry. The ube passionfruit tart was nice and had a yummy but powerful passionfruit flavour that overpowered the ube a bit. Coffee was unfortunately disappointing for me, with my citrus cold brew tasting like medicine. Also got a soy matcha latte that was not bad, but would probably prefer a stronger matcha flavour and creamier milk texture. Still giving 5 stars because this is a tart shop.
Kiley L — Google review
I tried Tarts Anon’s special pandan coconut tart and it was amazing. The pandan had a subtle flavour that worked beautifully with the coconut, and the balance of flavours was spot on. The base was perfect, exactly what you’d want in a tart. I also tried the sticky date earl grey. I’m usually not a big fan of earl grey as it can be overly fragrant and almost soapy, but here it was done just right. The earl grey was delicate, complimenting the sticky date without overpowering it. I also had their ube foam matcha - the ube foam itself had a nice flavour, but the matcha was a bit average. The quality of the matcha used wasn’t amazing.
Nibble N — Google review
Came here on international coffee day and got a free coffee flan tart with an order of coffee. Also had two of the monthly special tarts which took about 20 minutes after opening time before they were available. The flat white was mildly strong and well balanced which paired well with the sweet tarts. The coffee flan tart was decent; quite flaky but didn't like the inner layer of the crust which seems to be slightly undercooked. However both the matcha strawberry and the hazelnut tiramisu tart were tasty and not too sweet.
Barry — Google review
The Smoked Pecan & Butterscotch Tart is unreal—perfect balance of sweet, nutty, and smoky in a buttery crust. Easily one of the best desserts in Melbourne. Can’t wait to try more!
Soumya H — Google review
Tarts Anon is one of those places that completely lives up to the hype. The tarts here are on another level — beautifully made, rich without being heavy, and absolutely packed with flavour. You can tell every tart is made with care, and the flavour combinations are creative but never over the top. The classic flavours (like lemon or chocolate) are perfect in their simplicity, while the seasonal specials are where they really shine — things you’d never think of, but somehow they just work. The pastry itself is always flawless: crisp, buttery, and the kind you can only get from people who know exactly what they’re doing. The shop has a simple, understated vibe that lets the tarts do all the talking. The staff are friendly and clearly passionate about what they’re making, which adds to the whole experience. It’s not the cheapest pastry in town, but the quality is so high that it feels worth every cent. They’re the kind of tarts you want to bring to a dinner party or keep just for yourself at home with a coffee — they always feel a bit special. Tarts Anon is easily one of the best pastry spots in Melbourne, and once you’ve tried them it’s hard to go back to anything else.

Stopped in for a quick afternoon pick me up and boy did it hit the spot! The food we had here was alright, felt like the flavours and seasoning weren’t as potent on the night we visited. However it was an unreal dining experience in terms of the quality of service we got here. Excellent team working the floor provided us with great insight on the dishes and made our stay here much more enjoyable. Bread was phenomenal tho.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a mostly pleasant experience. The entrées and antipasti were absolutely delicious, and the drinks were well-made. We really appreciated how attentive the two male servers were; one of them even noticed I didn’t enjoy my drink and kindly swapped it out for something I'd like better, which was a lovely touch. However, the experience did have some inconsistencies. While the mains were okay, the off-menu tiramisu we ordered for dessert was quite disappointing. It was overly sweet and didn’t have that classic espresso flavor we were hoping for. Additionally, the presentation was a bit messy. When we mentioned this feedback to another server, the response we received felt a bit dismissive, which was a noticeable contrast from the otherwise great service we had earlier in the evening. In the end, it left us a bit disappointed. Overall, we’d say it’s a place with some really good highlights, especially on the appetizer side and thanks to some of the staff who went above and beyond. But there’s definitely room for a bit more consistency in both desserts and service attitude.

I reserved my birthday dinner on 27/06 here seeing the good reviews. However, my experience did not reflect any of the above. First of all, I am not allowed to bring my birthday cake in to share, which if fine and when I asked whether I can bring it in to take a photo, the lady over the phone was very hesitant so I just didn’t bring the cake at all. We were warmly greeted in the beginning and the nightmare begin when we started ordering. The restaurant light was very dim and it made us a bit difficult to see the menu, when the waitress in the black frame glasses, brown hair, ponytail came up was the real nightmare. My parents don’t speak or read English very well. Hence, my brothers and I are translating for them. It was a bit difficult for us to translate as the menu was hard to read with the lighting and with all the Italian words. The waitress came up and she was very impatient she sped read through the menu and the special menu and just took off. The restaurant was not the most quiet and with all the Italian mixed in her spiel it was very hard to follow. She left after she did her spiel we were there left dumbfounded. Afterwards we decided to ask her whether there is any recommendations so we can order according to that. Again she was very impatient and rude. She also asked previously whether there is any allergy and I advised her I was allergic to mango. However, my mum didn’t feel like seafood that day so she advised me before we asked for her recommendation. She was in a very condescending tone stating:” you should’ve told me before this is why I asked you if there is any allergies.” I was too shocked to reply as I felt like I was being scolded like a child. I didn’t know not feeling like seafood and allergic to seafood falls into the same category. However, I continue to let her recommend, she again spoke at a ultra fast speed and said all the none seafood is on the special menu. When I asked where is the special menu she said it’s in her head. I do recommend that there is a physical special menu as I cannot understand a single word coming out of her mouth. She also had quite an unpleasant breath, which really affected the experience. A gentle reminder about personal oral hygiene could really help maintain the restaurant’s excellent standards. After ordering I was left feeling really disgusted by her attitude. I can’t believe this is the service coming from a chef hat award restaurant. The first dish took forever to arrive. A simple lemon lime bitters took 20 minutes to service. The time in between each dish is way too long. The ravioli was quite salty and when I mentioned the food was alright to that same female staff she was unhappy with my response and again very rudely said, “ what’s wrong” I had to say the ravioli was quite salty and she seemed very upset about it. The final wagyu was too raw for my parents. I was never asked how we prefer the wagyu to be cooked. I’m not sure whether we are never asked or there was not preference for how the wagyu is cooked. The duck was quite dry and hard to chew. We were never offered the dessert menu as well. In addition, I personally thought she was just having a bad day hence the attitudes. However, she also served the table behind us and because the tables are very close and she is very loud I can hear her voice. I found out she is capable to being respectable and nice to the two caucasian lady sitting behind her which leaves me wonder why here attitude is like this with us? I do hope it is not because of a racial preference. On the contrary, all the other staff I have encountered in the restaurant are very nice, respectable and patient, that’s why I gave one star for service. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience and it was the worst birthday dinner I’ve ever had. The service really makes up a big part of the experience. Overall I would not recommend to any of my Asian friends out there or friends who doesn’t understand Italian as it seems like it is a prerequisite to understand Italian to order otherwise you will be looked down by the waitress.

Came here for dinner with a reservation and had the 'Gran Four' tasting menu which included seven dishes as well as some starter snacks, sourdough bread and pre-dessert palate cleanser which was not listed on the menu. Most of the dishes were very tasty; highlights were the scallops encased in a light crispy coating, the lobster risotto which has a condensed seafood and cheesy taste with a few big pieces of lobster to enjoy, and the duck tortellini which was rich and savoury with a nice al dente texture. The strawberry sorbet was also very good with a naturally sweet and refreshing taste. Service was friendly and attentive, each dish was explained in detail and the course took around two and a half hours to finish.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere, not to be faulted. After so many years, still the best Italian food in town.

Dinner at Grossi Florentino was such a lovely experience. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The service was friendly and professional without ever feeling over the top, and every course was full of flavour and care. The pasta was fresh and delicate, and the desserts were just beautiful. It’s one of those places where you can relax, enjoy great food, and really take in the moment. Everything flowed perfectly, and you could tell the team genuinely enjoy what they do. A wonderful spot for a special night out in Melbourne.

Argentinian restaurant
Steak house
San Telmo is an Argentinian restaurant located in the European end of Melbourne's CBD. The restaurant offers a menu focused on chargrilled meats and tapas-style plates, cooked on a traditional 2.5-metre-long parrilla grill. The ambiance is described as dimly-lit yet vibrant, reminiscent of the Argentinian Tango. San Telmo prides itself on its use of local O'Connor beef and offers a variety of seafood and land-based proteins.
Wow, wow, wow! This place was fantastic. Really high quality food and produce and worth every penny. The flavours in every bite were amazing and it was like a party in my mouth! The beef tartare was unmatched. The fresh herbs and silky egg yolk was truly a highlight. The crisps it came with were lightly salted and added just the right amount of flavour to an ideal mouthful. Another highlight was definitely the steak, it was so tender and juicy and just tasted so fresh. It literally melted in my mouth. The dessert was this light flan dressed in some peanut brittle and a caramel like sauce, and although it was rich I kept going back for more. My only tiny improvement would be to the immediacy of the service. As soon as my friend and I sat down, a floor staff member began reeling off specials and the way the menu works, without giving us a second to settle ourselves. Other than that, everything else was perfect.

We booked a couple hours ahead of time, recommend the seating inside on comfortable bar stools by the kitchen or down on the main floor. Service straight off the bat was exceptional and well organised. Atmosphere buzzing. We had a $125 set menu per person. Everything tasted amazing, our highlights were the ceviche, steak and dessert. A special thanks to our waitress, she clearly excels in the hospitality industry. We will definitely return, this is now our new favourite restaurant in Melbourne.

Finally tried San Telmo, after having been to Asado and Palermo (both from the same group) — so expectations were high for this one being the original spot. Starting off with the Solomillo (striploin) — nicely cooked with a solid char on the outside and a juicy interior. Could’ve used a touch more salt to deepen the flavour, but the chimichurri on the side brought a nice herbaceous lift that tied everything together. Texture-wise, it was tender enough, though not the most melt-in-your-mouth cut I’ve had. The Entraña (hanger steak) was where it fell short — unfortunately very chewy, to the point where it was hard to enjoy. Generous portion, but the texture really worked against it. The beef tartare was a solid dish — balanced in seasoning, not overly rich, with a nice freshness to it. Personally would’ve preferred a more vinegar-forward profile like a tataki-style seasoning instead of the slightly sweet dressing they used. Among the smaller plates, the provoleta stood out — bold, strong cheese flavour with that gooey centre and crisp edges, balanced nicely by the red chimichurri. The corn, onion & mozzarella empanada was good too, though it could’ve used a little more cheese filling to round it out. Didn’t love the calamari — texture was on the chewy side, though the dipping sauce helped. The chorizo had a great spice profile and snap, while the black sausage (morcilla) was more subtle and earthy — good to try once for something different. The papas (potatoes) were the weakest side — under-crisped and lacking the punch you’d expect from a parrilla-style grill. I’ve had better versions at Asado and Palermo, both in texture and flavour. Overall, San Telmo still brings that authentic Argentinian grill experience with its smoky meats and rustic feel, but the execution on some cuts and sides was uneven. When it hits, it’s good — but for the price, I’ve had tighter, more consistent dishes across the other venues in the group.

We had such a lovely time at San Telmo! The food was delicious, and the steak was perfectly cooked. Our server Helena was amazing — so warm, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. If you’re in Melbourne and looking for a great steakhouse with genuine hospitality, this is the place to go!

I've been here like 5 to 6 times and every time it's bloody great. The team is by far the best. The food is 100% the best quality. The vibe and comfort is sooooo good. Definitely take your fam and friends to experience this amazing opportunity

San Telmo feels timeless. The room glows softly, smoke rises from the grill, and the sound of meat hitting heat fills the space. This place doesn’t chase attention; it earns it. I’ve been coming here for years, and the food stays steady every time. The steak is the reason you come. Perfect crust, juicy inside, and seasoned by someone who understands beef. Other restaurants claim to serve Melbourne’s best steak, then fail to deliver. San Telmo never slips. It serves it right every time. The chimichurri cuts through the fat cleanly. The sides fit the meal. The staff keep things sharp and easy. San Telmo is an institution. When you want a proper steak in Melbourne, this is where you go.

Our waitress was Helena and she was incredible. Although the food is amazing, she made our experience that much better. She recommended items without being too pushy, she checked in on us for feedback throughout the meal, and was so pleasant to talk to. Overall this was our favorite dinner in Melbourne. Everything we ate was 10/10 (ceviche, fried broccoli, chorizo, wagyu porterhouse, potatoes, and flan)

Australian restaurant
Cutler & Co. is an upscale modern Australian restaurant located in an old metalworks factory, offering a tasting menu and a romantic dining experience. The restaurant features a moody yet sophisticated atmosphere with sleek metal and glass partitions, creating a unique dining space. The menu offers flexibility with options ranging from a five-course degustation to comfort food like dry-aged steak for two, paired with wines from an exemplary list focusing on small producers.
Cutler in Fitzroy is one of Melbourne’s most stylish dining experiences - modern yet warm, with a beautifully designed interior that blends industrial charm and luxe detailing. The clean lines, moody lighting, and leafy marble accents create a welcoming, sophisticated atmosphere. The service lives up to the hype too: warm, professional, attentive but never overbearing - guests are truly looked after . On to the food: Culatello ‘PROSCIUTTO’ with persimmon – an exquisite pairing of salty cured meat and sweet, fragrant persimmon. What a beautiful combination! TUNA on toast – super creative; the crème fraîche, bullhorn peppers and horseradish elevate it to a memorable dish. Burger – fantastic, exactly what you’d hope for in a gourmet setting. Chocolate GÂTEAU – rich and decadent, with dates working beautifully against the dark chocolate. Overall, Cutler offers brilliant food, from innovative small plates to comforting mains, set in a polished yet relaxed space with top-tier hospitality. Highly recommended.

This is my second time dining here and its remains one of my top restaurants in Melbourne. The waitstaff is always amazing, even though our waiter had only been working there for two weeks he was super professional and friendly. My favourite dishes from this visit were the whiting and the apple tart tartin, I would highly recommend getting these two dishes. I also appreciated there were lots of interesting mocktails to try. Would definitely recommend Cutler and Co for a fancy dinner and lovely evening.

My fiancé and I had the pleasure of dining at Cutler back in July. The food, service and ambiance were immaculate. We loved our experience so much that we are returning next month for our post elopement dinner. Special shout out to our server who never rushed us, gave us amazing recommendations (side of fries to dip in the sauce with the fish!) and was all around delightful.

A classic Andrew McConnell restaurant - great quality and consistent food. While the menu is never ground breaking, the consistency of quality and consistent execution is something to be marvelled We dined on the chefs menu which was very generous on portion sizing. Tuna entree was delicious, fresh and clean The main of steak could have had a much better sear. Pavlova for dessert you can’t go wrong. Service was lovely & wine list very good.

It became the best memory of our trip to Melbourne✨ All the staff were so kind and welcoming! Even about me bringing my little plush friend along🐰 One of them even asked for its name, which made me so happy🥹💗 The staff member who served our table had amazing knowledge of the menu, and we followed his recommendations — every dish was absolutely perfect for both me and my partner🍽️😊Especially, the duck we had...It was the bestes...🥰 From the moment we stepped inside to the moment we left, everything was just beyond words. Truly an unforgettable experience💖

Fine but uncomplicated dining, Cutler’s menu is elegant, delicious simplicity. The whiting and venison dishes were both lip-smacking, but our fave was the little bowl of humble anchovy & sage fritters. Like a fancy beer snack, I could’ve easily scoffed 50 of these tasty morsels alone! The space is gorgeous, an old metalworks factory with marbled walls & intimate candlelit booths. Service was seamless and attentive, with table crumbing between courses. Would definitely chomp again when next in Melbourne!

Dining at Cutler was an experience I won’t soon forget. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless — warm, professional service, a beautifully designed space, and a menu that strikes the perfect balance between creativity and comfort. The ambiance is modern and elegant without feeling pretentious. Soft lighting, thoughtful décor, and just the right level of background music made it ideal for both conversation and relaxation. Now to the food — absolutely phenomenal. Each course was executed with precision and heart. The ingredients were clearly fresh and of high quality, and the flavor combinations were inventive yet familiar. I had the seared duck breast with roasted fig and truffle jus, and was blown away. Every bite was perfectly cooked and balanced. Even the sides and small touches, like the house-made bread and butter, were memorable. The service truly stood out — attentive without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, offered great pairing suggestions, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Cutler isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a dining experience. Whether you're celebrating something special or simply want a night of exceptional food and atmosphere, this place is a gem. Highly recommended.

Andrew McConnell’s flagship restaurant Cutler since inception 2009 has always been busy and bookings are always essential. Similar menu arrangement as cumulus, small bites to entrees moving on to mains and larger mains accompanied with sides. Degustation menu can be sampled to try his craftsmanship. Time of visiting the seating was quite dark although by the large front window dinning can be enjoyed thoroughly whilst watching the world go by on Gertrude St. Try the house warm donuts chives and salmon roe and sour cream. Mushroom pithivier. From the grill the O’Connor Sirloin cooked perfectly paired with glazed onions and condiments to enjoy with. Dessert the dark chocolate tart with liquorice and fromage Blanc you cannot go past to finish off. Great food but not too sold on half looking serves on the pithivier and tart.

Coffee shop
Lune Croissanterie Fitzroy is a renowned bakery that has gained international acclaim for its exceptional croissants. Located in the heart of Fitzroy, this minimalist yet inviting space is always bustling with pastry enthusiasts eager to sample what the New York Times hailed as the best croissants on the planet. Run by siblings Kate and Cameron Reid, Lune Croissanterie prides itself on meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to French baking techniques.
We were a group of eight and stopped by in the late afternoon at this popular croissant shop—definitely a must-try in Melbourne. We ordered a variety of croissants to share along with some flat white coffees, hot and cold chocolate. The drinks were standard, but the croissants were excellent. We were lucky to visit this Fitzroy branch, as the queue was much shorter compared to other locations.

It was the best almond croissant I ever had. There were crunchy textures of the bread, the almonds were glazed with caramel perfectly. The Vegemite one was decent, not too strong flavour. The pain au chocolate kind of surprised me. The chocolate flavour wasn’t incredibly sweet and the bread was honestly amazing. The butter made the whole texture soft. The hot chocolate was very elegant in its appearance. It wasn’t the sweet kind you would get in stores, it was slightly more bitter and the cacao powder was a perfect match. The only thing that could be improved was the seats. There were very little seats in a big room. And the tables were too low. So it felt awkward eating there and my back didn’t feel very well. Overall, you must come! If you come at when it’s almost lunchtime. There would be less people than in the morning.
YANCHIK K — Google review
I heard the queue here is shorter than at the city location, which was a pleasant surprise. The almond croissant was fantastic—flaky, crispy exterior with a rich, flavorful filling. The classic croissant was also impressive, boasting a perfectly crisp crust and delightful taste. However, the pain au chocolat was underwhelming, lacking the same wow factor.

Hands down one of the best croissant experiences I’ve ever had. Their Fitzroy flagship is a must-visit — spacious, beautifully designed, and laser-focused on just two things: croissants and coffee. My favorite is the Kimchi Beef Croissant — it stole the show with its bold, savory kick. Close behind is the classic Ham & Gruyère, buttery and perfectly balanced in every bite. The seasonal Strawberry Sundae was a sweet surprise, but you can’t miss the Almond — that one’s a true classic. This isn't just a quick pastry stop — it's totally worth the trip. What I like the most? (From fav to the least) Kimchi Beef AUD13.5 Ham & Gruyère AUD12.2 (Seasonal) Strawberry Sundae AUD12.5 Almond AUD12.5 Pain Au Chocolate AUD8.5 Breakfast Negroni AUD15

Yeah. The pastry here is quite elite. Never had a croissant pastry like this place. Always come for the specials, especially the Golden Haze. That is top notch quality flavours. Of course any croissant is amazing, the cruffin with that tart lemon curd and the amazing vegemite scroll.

Incredible experience at Lune Lab. I have been trying to get tickets for a long time. Great dining experience, 3 courses (traditional croissant, savoury and sweet). We were really impressed with the savoury and sweet courses, the design and taste of the meals was excellent. The information shared by the chefs and team added to the experience. Highly recommend. Great unique experience.

The best croissants in Melbourne and probably across Australia. Nice chic environment with friendly staff, they’d explain each pastry in detail which is helpful for first timer. Not a lot of parking nearby, just limited street parking.

Entrecôte is a lively and stylish restaurant located in South Yarra, near the Royal Botanic Gardens. The bistro features vintage light fittings, potted plants, and burgundy velvet banquettes, creating an approachable and unstuffy atmosphere.
An absolutely wonderful restaurant! I had bookmarked it for a long time and finally got the chance to try it. The prices here are on the higher side, but every bit of it was worth it. I was especially impressed by the server who took care of our table that evening—unfortunately, I forgot to ask for their name. Their service was truly exceptional, full of warmth and enthusiasm. Every dish I ordered was recommended by them, and each one turned out to be fantastic. On top of that, the restaurant also had live music, which made the atmosphere even more delightful. Overall, this place is truly outstanding.

Will be coming back! Absolutely stunning venue that's larger than it looks from the outside! We sat in the courtyard which was definitely the pick, main dining area was extremely loud. Food was delicious, I ordered French Onion Soup and the steak frites. Was extremely full and portions were generous. I really want to try the desserts, they looked amazing!
Natasha C — Google review
The Atmosphere is really fantastic and we had great service for a large group of eight. The food is also good, but competition at this price point is high. Steak was delicious but entrees are nearly all cold dishes, which was unexpected. French fries were excellent. Wine list is strong but priced high.
Tim S — Google review
First impression: the interior decor is fabulous. It feels like stepping into a venue in Paris, with high ceilings, sumptuous textures and finishes, and elegant waiters in suits. The space extends into a beautiful long bar area on the upper level with a charming courtyard-style seating area. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining. Most tables are small and round, paired with classic woven French-style chairs that add to the Parisian charm. The food is good, with the signature dish being the entrecôte (steak and fries). Service is brisk, perhaps a little too brisk for such an intimate setting. With three maitre d’s managing different areas, it felt a bit rushed. No one explained the menu or à la carte options, and they did not ask how many people were sharing desserts- felt we over ordered. A more thoughtful touch would have made the experience feel more personal. Overall, it was a lovely experience. I would definitely come back to try more dishes and entrees. Great place for romantic dates ;)

This resteraunt was gorgeous. We dined in the dining room. With the perfectly dimly lit table, live piano amd exceptional service, this place has to be the best resteraunt we have ever been too. We ordered the signature steak and that was better than we could have imagined. Perfect evening to celebrate my birthday.
Tamara M — Google review
Food was lovely but the service is extremely terrible. Firstly, the table was really small. A table for two can barely fit two plates of steak and one bowl of salad without having to scuffle things each time. After they sat us down, they immediately handed over the drink menu which is a heavy, hard cover book that we can't even put on the table because the cutleries are all set with the plates that filled the whole surface. We haven't even finished reading the drinks menu when they brought us the food menu which is as big as the drink book, when clearly there isn't enough space on the table and we're already struggling flipping over the drinks menu in the thin space between the table and my legs. But the waitstaff didn't care — he just forced the book to us and left us there with 4 books on our hands where we are clearly struggling to hold those and flip at the same time. The menu book handed to us was only the course menu. I expected this but I saw that the table of 4 sitting next to us was also handed over a piece of paper that looks like an a la carte menu, so I asked the waitstaff "what menu is that" in case we're allowed to do a la carte or if thats a 'today's special' type of stuff. The waiter—in a very patronising way—said these word per word: "they are special, just ignore that. You can only choose the course menu." It really came off as rude and dismissive as I'm only asking what menu that is, I didn't even ask him to bring me that piece of paper. I also saw some other people left reviews on here that said they're forced to do courses, and obviously there are some guests being treated as 'special' and didn't even bother to explain to you. When all the courses came out, the waitstaff only stood there slightly extending the plates, clearly waiting for us to take the plates from his hand and settle it on the table ourselves. Again the table is extremely small so we always have to scuffle things while he stares at us, not even helping to put down the plates. I saw that another table near us also needed to take the plates themselves from the waitstaff's hand as she's only standing beside the table and waited until they do so—whether this information is relevant or not, both of our tables are Asian. The whole experience leaves a sour taste that the $260 I spent there is not even worth a thing. Won't be coming here again. It's unfortunate because the food was lovely.

I really wanted to love this place 🍽️🇫🇷 The setting is beautiful and the food itself was genuinely delicious with fresh beef tartare & foie gras. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. During service, the head host was shouting at another staff member in the middle of the dining room about seating arrangements. It was uncomfortable to watch and especially awkward as I was dining alone… she kept looking my way while complaining about how “stupid” it was to seat someone in a particular way??? 🤨 It’s such a shame because the food was beautifully presented and the Le Conservatoire space is stunning, especially on a rainy day. But the unprofessional behaviour from management made it hard to enjoy any of it. Sadly, I wouldn’t come back.
Kaya E — Google review
After hearing mixed reviews about Entrecôte in recent years, I was a bit dubious about dining there again. However after a delightful meal at GiGi's, their sister restaurant, I decided to take the plunge. I was glad to see the quality l'd become accustomed to at their South Yarra location all those years ago was still there. I tried the Mitraillette baguette and it completely exceeded my expectations. The Rangers Valley Black Market beef is incredibly tender and full of flavour, and the crisp frites inside add just the right amount of texture without taking over. The baguette has the perfect balance of chew and crunch and holds everything together beautifully. For those of you who are familiar with Entrecôte, their signature sauce needs no introduction. The Secret Herb Butter Sauce ties everything together with a silky, savoury finish that soaks into the bread just enough to feel indulgent without getting messy. Despite not being the most photogenic of the offerings their refined take on a classic steak sandwich is the perfect way to sample the best of Entrecôte when you've got a tight schedule. Rich, satisfying and a little bit bougie, it's absolutely worth trying.

The toasted marshmallow is a must! My friend and I dropped by for takeaway hot chocolate. Added in a roasted marshmallow each which i thoroughly enjoyed. Great service, super friendly. Lovely inside and good seating outside with umbrellas. Parking was easy. My friend had the Dark Milk & River Salt hot chocolate and loved it as it wasn’t too sweet. I tried something different in the Australian Native & Macadamia hot chocolate. I wasn’t sure if I would like to but wanted to try something different. I didn’t really enjoy it but happy I tried all the same. Would definitely go back and try a more regular style hot chocolate next time. They had a great range of chocolates, pastries, drinking chocolate for sale as well as some beautiful handmade mugs. Definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back to try more from the menu.

Great vibe, nice options for sale. On site production of what’s on sale! However, not so many vegan options in the shop. While a cool concept, the campfire hot chocolate we had was too smoky and bitter. The GF vegan pistachio, matcha strawberry pastry was quite good, and could have been even better with a more natural fruit preserve with on the top. The cookie we had lacked a balance of sweetness and flavor. It would be great if they had vegan marshmallow options, but has yet to happen.

I’m not a big chocolate fan, but I was looking for cinnamon rolls (not scrolls) and came across this cafe online. However, I got distracted by the black sesame brownie since I’m also a sesame fan. It’s an interesting bake: the brownie is moist, and the sesame gives it a nice, fragrant but sticky texture. It is interesting but I likely won’t eat it again. I’ll come back for the cinnamon rolls that reviewers rave about!

We tried the campfire hot chocolate which is a whole experience and so worth it but AUD $15 is quite hefty for a hot chocolate so it wouldn’t be an every day treat. Coffee was good too. Fantastic customer service and although the location is a little out of the way (from the cbd) it’s really lovely to see a quieter more relaxed part of town. I didn’t try the other pastries but they all looked beautiful. Only reason I’m giving a 4 star is it is on the higher end price wise and they don’t offer any savoury pastries.

I visited Mörk Chocolate Brew House again after 5 or 6 years, and the staff kindly helped me find the same menu item I enjoyed back then. They were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the hot chocolate was just as delicious as I remembered. There were so many types of chocolate for souvenirs that it was hard to choose, but thanks to their recommendations, I found something perfect. Thank you for the warm and memorable experience!

This place is amazing! Friendly staff, baked on premises baked goods that are scrumptious and OMG - the hot chocolate! We are only in train for a week and I have had the Campfire Hot Chocolate twice and will likely go back once more (at least 😉). The presentation is beautiful with a toasted marshmallow and a glass of smoke to pour your drink into. Get it there and enjoy the experience. 🔥

Grill Americano offers a romantic Venetian experience with delectable desserts like tiramisu with hidden chocolate layers and classic vanilla meringue cake. The restaurant's retro-glam ambiance features terrazzo floors, royal blue leather seats, and a white marble bar. The menu includes the indulgent profiterole con nocciole. Despite the higher prices, visitors appreciate the elegant atmosphere and delicious Italian cuisine, making it a delightful dining experience.
This was 2 years in the making to FINALLY tasting that viral tiramisu that keeps popping up on my TikTok page. (I only come down to Melbourne once a year to see family and friends thats why it took a while) But I must say my experience for the first time (and my family's second experience) was phenomenal! Could not fault one thing whilst dining for lunch. Greeted warm and friendly at the door, the staff setting up plates, cutlery and refilling table water at our table and the quality and taste of the food was delicious! Definitely will be coming back again to try out the other dishes and of course desserts when im down again next year or even your Sydney store which is closee to home (to be opened soon at time of this review)!

We recently dined at Grill Americano to celebrate our anniversary and, while the food was absolutely delicious, the overall experience fell short of expectations—especially for what is positioned as a high-end dining venue. From the moment we arrived, there was a noticeable lack of warmth. We weren’t greeted at the door, and it wasn’t until the barman briefly acknowledged us that someone asked if we had been served—despite us only just walking in. It felt a bit disorganised and impersonal. The service throughout the evening was quite average. Our server was friendly enough, but each time he filled our water glasses, he spilled some on the table. It wasn’t a major issue, but it’s the kind of detail you’d expect to be avoided in a premium dining setting. As foodies who love celebrating special occasions with memorable experiences, we were disappointed that nothing was done to acknowledge our anniversary. Most fine dining restaurants we’ve been to usually offer something small—a dessert, a greeting, or even just a note—to mark the occasion. Sadly, there was none of that here. The highlight was certainly the food, which was beautifully presented and full of flavour. If the service matched the standard of the kitchen, this would have been a much more memorable night. We’d consider returning for the food alone, but hope the service and guest experience see some improvements in the future.

Based on the prices at Grill Americano, expectations were high and it's clear the concept an intent is high, but alas it does miss the mark by some way. The arrival experience was cold and uninviting, a chap in a suit showed no interest in extending any form of greeting, just waited to be told what we were there for! The restaurant is stunning in terms of design and layout, and seating is comfortable even if tables are fairly close together. We started with 2 Sydney Rock oysters and 2 Tasmanian Pacific oysters, all very good, we liked the Tassie ones best. We ordered mixed bread which was OK as it should be for $16.50. For starters we shared the Salumi misti with some lovely bresaola, San Danielle and Mortadella and a piece of mozzarella, it came garnished with pickled green peppers and olives. The duck croquettes were lacking any real flavour and the aioli did little to add to the dish. For main course we ordered the 600Gr bone in Rib Eye which was cooked to perfection, well rested and tasty, with the rib eye we ordered roast potatoes that unfortunately were more like boiled potatoes flashed through the oven, not at all crispy, the Green beans were undercooked, they did not even reach the "al dente" stage and completely lacking any seasoning. We asked for Bearnaise amd red wine sauces, both served in cheap ugly sauceboats, red wine sauce was just warm and the Bearnaise somewhat runny, disappointing. In terms of the food, the only real star was the warm apple pie which was exceptional, crispy pastry and very very good filling.

The Waiter who served us on Saturday 20th @ 5.15pm booking for Robyn, was absolutely amazing. The food was incredible, we could not fault a thing. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Melbourne. Will be back next month, this time bringing some friends to show them this experience and the incredible food/wine.

We had a reservation, but the waitress initially seated us at a narrow corner table even though plenty of other seats were available. After we asked, she happily moved us to a better spot. We ordered the Bistecca alla Fiorentina (1.2 kg) — it was decent, but honestly, Victor Churchill does a much better steak. The Tiramisù was the highlight of the meal. Overall, just an average experience. $200 ppl

An elegant dining space for Italian cuisine, cocktails and people watching Although a "vibey" ambiance with dark walls, commanding chandeliers, jacketed waitperson and patrons that dressed up to the nines, I find the seatings too close to each other and the noise level a touch too high for private conversations. I don't normally go to Italian restaurant because I prefer to cook Italian at home - fresh pasta, bolognese, carborana, putanesca, pesto, ragu, osso buco, risotto, lasagne, ravioli, agnolotti, gnocchi, pizza, focaccia, tiramisu, panna cotta etc - these are simpler to make (than Asian meals), and often, taste much more delicious and generous home cooked. At a recent special $30 lunch deal at Grill Americano, I saw an item on the menu that brings back lots of memories - bistecca alla fiorentina that we had during our very first holiday in Italy. We started with a plate of mozzarella and bresaola ($48.50). Then the Florentine steak (1.2kg $185) from somewhere in New South Wales (we could not get the origin from the waitperson), cooked medium rare. The char is very nice - something that you can't get in a typical home stove. The meat itself was tender with very minimal grit, cooked with varying degree of doneness (more rare for the meat closest to the bone and more cooked furthest from the bone). A simple plate of green beans (not overcooked and still with a satisfying "snap") completes the meal. Service is professional.

I had been wanting to try Grill Americano for a long time, and went last night for a second date. Inside the restaurant is very nice, perfect lighting and nice decor however the seating is incredibly cramped, I could not get to my seat without apologising for bumping the couples' table next to me as I squeezed between their table and mine, and I'm fit, good luck to anyone who isn't. The waiter who took our drink orders was good, polite and helpful with wine selection. The waitress who took our food order was also very polite and friendly, but unfortunately this is where the praise for the service staff ends. After ordering our dishes, the antipasto arrived reasonably quickly. But 90 minutes after ordering we were still waiting for a pasta dish. We got the attention of a waiter, which wasn't easy as not one waiter had come to top up water or ask if we'd like to order more drinks, and politely asked if our food would be coming out soon. After checking, the waiter returned to tell us that they'd get it started and it should only be 5 minutes. 10 minutes later it arrived, and while the flavours of the spanner crab linguini were ok, albeit with very little crab meat, the dish was barely warm. Our steak and sides arrived a bit later, and again none of them were hot. The steak was again barely warm, and the beans were almost cold. I'd say the food is ok, definitely not worth the hype, but nice enough, and probably even better if it was served hot, but the service leaves A LOT to be desired here. Not even in the ball park for the price point. Add to that having to pay a 10% surcharge for a Sunday, and it's a bit of a slap in the face. Definitely my first and last time dining here.

finally tried out grill americano during their 30 year lucas group celebrations! $30 lunch set panino americano - steak, lettuce, tomato, aioli, sourdough - 7.5/10 - the steak was flavoured really well, but the steak was very hard to chew like im not too sure how well done they cooked the steak bc it did look medium rare? but it was just hard to eat like i would bite down on the sandwich, expect a bit of tussle with the meat cos its steak, but not like fully rip out the entire steak from the sandwich because i just couldn’t bite down on it - the sourdough itself and rest of the sandwich components were amazing, the bread was so crispy throughout and like never lost its crunch, the aioli rly complemented the sandwich well mini tiramisu americano - DELICIOUS - 10/10 experience - i can see why people love coming here for the tiramisu now - it’s got such a lovely coffee flavour to it that’s not overpowering at all - the chocolate layer in the middle was amazing like more tiramisus need to do that insalata mista salad - $18.5, 8/10 - ur standard salad, lovely dressing, a bit too much maybe because my whole mouth just got slathered by sauce - fresh greens though! overall, would love to come back and try their standard/ dinner menu! and get a FULL slice of that tiramisu

Ice cream shop
Located in the heart of Melbourne's Italian neighborhood, Pidapipo CBD is a bustling shop offering traditional gelato with classic and creative seasonal flavors. The retro-funky authentic gelateria was created by Lisa Valmorbida, who honed her gelato-making skills at Italy's Carpigiani Gelato University. The dozen or so milk-based and dairy-free flavors are scooped out of traditional lidded canisters and served in cones or tubs with various toppings.
The ice cream is quite sweet but still good. I ordered Salted Caramel and Ricotta Fig Ja, both were delicious. You can ask the staff for samples, but since the line gets pretty long, you might not have much time to try many flavors. Ordering 2 or 3 scoops in one cup is actually cheaper than getting just one

Had the opportunity to try their cream cheese, caramel, carrot cake ice cream (that’s the flavour). It was really nice, very creamy and sweet. Very subtle hints of the carrot cake and it was more cream cheese-y and caramel. Also got their hot chocolate… it was topped with ice cream. It was very rich and smooth… the ice cream adds that satisfying coldness to it. Highly recommend this place!

Definitely my favourite gelato store in Melbourne! All the flavours are fantastic and traditional from Italy. Never get disappointed on the monthly specials as well. Mostly recommend pistachio and salted caramel for all the time! See how many times I had been here!

Tried their Pistachio + Passion Fruit & Ginger combo — absolutely divine! 💚💛 The pistachio was creamy, nutty, and rich, while the passion fruit and ginger sorbet added the perfect tangy and refreshing contrast. Such a balanced and addictive mix! The texture was super smooth, and you can really taste the quality ingredients. Beautiful shop vibes too — bright, modern, and cheerful. Definitely one of the best gelatos I’ve had in Melbourne! 🍨✨

What a delightful gelateria! We stopped by for a treat and were so impressed. We ordered two scoops: one pistachio and one coconut. The pistachio was wonderfully nutty and authentic, while the coconut was incredibly creamy and fresh. Together, they were a match made in heaven! The price was very reasonable for the high quality. A must-try spot for gelato lovers in Melbourne.

I love they open heater when outside is too cold. I prefer pistachio in here than Piccolina very salty. I taste more nutty flavor here, but at first I not quite used to the strong flavor. Nutella is not that good actually, expect should be more chocolate.

I thought I’d try the signature hot chocolate winter special. It didn’t disappoint. Heavenly on a cold Melbourne winters evening. The perfect balance of hot chocolate and gelato. The marshmallows take it to the next level. Stopping at just one is hard to do! Only available until end of August. Definitely worth the price.

Their gelato is supreme - the texture is perfect, and the flavour just washes over you in the most heavenly way. It was so good we came back here 2 more times! I would most highly recommend their vanilla and honeycomb, which might be one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had. Take note that there may be a queue and a little bit of a wait, but their gelato is absolutely worth it.

Miilk Cake Studio is a charming blend of futuristic and old-school vibes, offering cakes made from treasured family recipes. Their mini cakes are not only adorable and aesthetic but also perfect for smaller groups or personal indulgence. The menu features unique flavors like pandan and ube, as well as Asian-inspired treats such as pandan chiffon cake with coconut cream.
Omg this is the best cake I’ve ever gotten in Melbourne. If you are in Melbourne, you’ve gotta come try their authentic southeast Asian inspired cakes! Best desserts! Best soft serve! Best cookies! The service was top tier as well! I was served by this Malaysian guy with glasses who was super friendly and welcoming, he took his time explaining all the flavours for me! Cheers to the wonderful cake makers and decorators for their excellent work! :)

This cute place offers a variety of sweet drinks, amazing cakes and cookies. Enjoyed lychee cake. I found it a little pricey. The ube cookie I got was okay-ish compared to the cake. For me it was way too soggy. We tried this place on our first night in Melbourne and it was quite convenient that they stayed open late.

My son met 8 of his friends here for his birthday & they did a great job providing plates, cutlery & candles. We got Kopi Milo & the Hojicha chiffon. Both were light & delicious & not too sweet. There were 12 of us total & we all managed to sit around 4 small round tables. At the end the owner brought us some cookies to try. The spicy shrimp cookies were delicious so I had to buy a box to take home. Will definitely go back to try the other cakes!

Very disappointed with the cake in general. I picked up a cake for my bf birthday, and the cake is called tropical paradise with mango flavour. When we first smelled then bit into it, we couldn’t figure out where the mango flavour is. It was just artificial pandan and vanilla. After a few bites, we got into the mango jelly part but it was as rare as trying to find gold in Ballarat these days, and far from mango flavour as well. A very overpriced lesson for me

If you are looking for ready cakes at short notice and absolutely brilliant service..... strawberry and lychee is the way to go. 1 hour notice. My go to from now on!

Got the free cakes for Miilk’s second anniversary. We got the biscoff and secret flavour which I assumed was some sort of chocolate and kinder bueno flavour. Biscoff was extremely rich and heavy in a way which makes you feel sick after, it would pair well with a fruit or something light and refreshing. The cake part was soft but a tad dry with a weird ratio to cream (lots of cake and barely no cream) would love this with more cream and a lighter biscoff sauce. The chocolate flavour was much better, perfectly sweet with a crunchy knafeh paste in the middle which provided an interesting texture! Again, more cream would help with the dryness of the cake. With the price in mind, I’d only buy on a special occasion as they are pretty small for what you get.
Jessica B — Google review
Loved their chiffon cakes, very moist. Must recommend ube chiffon and pandan coconut. Thought the ube flavor is a bit on the lighter side but overall it’s a good cake same goes as with the pandan cake. Bought their darkest sinner mud cake, not too sweet. Flavor is there, but it’s a bit on the dry side. Cake is compact and the choco flavor shines through. Staff were friendly and very accomodating. Place is hip and trendy and appeals to younger generation. Aside from cakes they also have drinks as well as cookies and home scents(cant recall the exact name).

Piccolina Gelateria in Melbourne offers a unique twist on the classic Aussie lamington, transforming it into a delectable gelato cake. This dessert features layers of sponge cake filled with creamy semifreddo and strawberry jam, encased in dark chocolate and sprinkled with coconut. The ice cream selection is diverse, with flavors like salted caramel, passionfruit, and honeycomb that are praised for their creamy texture and delicious taste.
Piccolina Gelateria serves top-quality, authentic gelato with wonderfully bold flavors. You’re welcome to sample them all — though with the long queues (which are common here), it’s best to decide quickly! I went for a hazelnut and pistachio combo, plus their special peanut butter, caramel, and pistachio pairing. The nut flavors were rich and intense, with delightful little fragments of nuts in every bite. Absolutely beautiful gelato!

A popular authentic gelateria on Hardware Lane. There are number for different flavours and a special menu to choose from. There are some seats available both inside and outside the shop, and reminds me of Italy. Staff were friendly and patient. I tried the Lemon, Dark Chocolate and Pistachio. The gelato was smooth, but a tad stickier than some that I've had before. Flavour was on point. This shop has multiple stores throughout Melbourne with different ratings. If you are near Hardware Lane, this one is worth a visit!

Absolutely beautiful. First time in hardware lane. Piccolina has become a main place for dessert. Had the salted caramel and pistachios. Loved it. Took a long time to decide which one to go with because they have lot of options. Definitely coming back and good customer service but should have accepted cash as well. Hope they make some changes. But overall good experience.

We tried: 2 Scoop Gelato $8.90 We picked dark chocolate and pistachio — both rich, creamy, not too sweet and full of flavour. This popular gelato shop in Melbourne CBD always has a queue, but it moves pretty fast. There’s some seating inside and outside, and the staff are friendly. They’re known for their authentic, handcrafted gelato made with 100% natural ingredients. You’ll also find a special menu on the board and gelato cakes — perfect for a special occasion. 💳 Card payment only. ✨ A great spot for dessert after lunch or dinner in the city

Ordered the limited time Piccolina & St. Ali affogato which is a square cut gelato in a cup with a shot of espresso coffee. I chose the hazelnut gelato with hazelnut topping; it was pretty good but melted quite fast as the espresso was extracted straight into the cup. The texture of the nuts on top was a bit distracting; doesn't really pair well with the warm melty affogato. Also tried a bit of the affogato with the fior di latte gelato which was a much better choice to enjoy the pure coffee flavour with the added neutral sweetness of the fior di latte.

Taste like having Italy in Melbourne. Nice and helpful staff. We got few different items the best one was Lemon. Unlike most of Gelateria in Melbourne that you just taste too much sugar this one was nice and smooth

No matter what time of day, there's always a line outside and now I understand why! After finally having the chance to try it, I can confidently say it was well worth the wait. The ice cream menu is conveniently displayed on the wall, which made it easy to make our choices while still in line. It was a thoughtful touch that helped streamline the ordering process, especially with the long queue. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive atmosphere of the shop. As for the ice cream itself—absolutely delicious! We tried the mango, coconut, and pistachio flavors, and each one was creamy, flavorful, and refreshing. It’s clear why this place has such a strong reputation. If you're willing to wait a bit for your scoop, you’ll be rewarded with some of the best ice cream around. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area!

KOI Dessert Bar Melbourne is a popular spot run by a Masterchef alum and his family, offering over 150 desserts including cakes in flavors like pandan, coconut, mango, and almond. Guests can enjoy the experience of sitting by the kitchen and watching the team at work. The range of desserts is fantastic to choose from, although some find it a bit pricey due to the intricate elements that go into each cake.
Brought my mum here to celebrate her birthday — her very first time celebrating it in Australia. I visited KOI Dessert Bar in Sydney back in 2017 and never forgot how beautiful and delicious the cakes were. Ever since, I’ve wanted to bring my mum to experience it too. The cakes were just as I remembered — stunningly crafted, smooth, not too sweet, and perfectly creamy. It felt so special to share this moment with her. The taste was still as amazing as it lives in my memory. So happy to finally share it with someone I love.

There was a rich variety of cake flavours to choose from- each with unique flavour combinations and design choices. Very aesthetically pleasing and delicious. Slightly expensive. The ichigo matcha drink also had a hint of rose sweetness which made it highly distinct. Would recommend trying any small cake! However, after trying the Earl Grey cake ($28), I was slightly disappointed at the flavour. Although the base was soft and not too sweet, the cream was over-whipped and too dense, leaving a paste-like after taste. Would not recommend. Ultimately, the quiet environment and array of cake and drink selections created a very delightful experience.
Beccy — Google review
Contrary to the warm service and the atmosphere of this modern dessert bar, the coldness of the desserts are only contrasted by their lack of complexity in flavour and overbearingness. This is in no fault of the staff. Whilst visually they're beautiful and striking and the texture interesting and varying, the flavour takes all attention from that in such a profoundly negative manner that I was left in awe at the high price tag. I would only return here for the work or date friendly atmosphere, staff, and rather pleasant coffee.

Visited for the limited spring high tea session which was only available last week. Waited a few minutes after the reservation time but once seated drink orders were immediately taken and the food was served shortly after. The high tea included six petit desserts, three savoury bites and unlimited coffee and tea from the list. The savoury bites included a chicken & mushroom pie, cheddar & thyme madeleine, and a toasted sourdough topped with tomato, onion and cheese; favourite was the sourdough but the pie and madeleine were also pretty good. As for the desserts, all of them besides the 'Dubai Dream' cake contained different elements of fruit which I enjoyed a lot. The combination of textures and flavours worked well in general; well balanced and not too sweet. The least favourite was the macaron; it was still good but just lacked the strawberry flavour. Favourite was the 'Onyx' which has a subtle but refreshing herb and a nice citrus flavour to pair with the sweet apple. Coffee was decent and the teas I tried (genmaicha, serenity herbal tea and earl grey) were strong and fragrant. Overall a great high tea experience; although it was a bit pricey, everything was tasty and the desserts were delicate and well crafted; service was also good with friendly staffs who checked in several times with us to see if we needed anything else.

I am not type or person who ate cake often. But I like Reynold and his creation so I went to try. Cakes are nice, fresh(to me compare to few shop that feel frozen and old). I could see each components, it's interesting to see. The taste are good but Im not expert. only one down point for me is a bit pricey. But I understand somehow as they sell for technique and ideas. So It's kind of you eat art piece.

The place is nice and has a good vibe. For an 8:30pm visit on a Thursday, it wasn’t too busy (though we were seated at a shared table with another couple). All the desserts we tried were delicious, and both the matcha latte and hot chocolate were indulgent and satisfying. The ambiance is great, well-lit and stylish, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that by 8:30pm, there were only three dessert varieties left, even though the store doesn’t close until 10pm. It would be nice to have more options available later in the evening, but I understand they may have sold out earlier in the day. Overall, it’s a great spot for dessert if you’re around the Collins/Queen St area.

We visited KOI Dessert Bar in Melbourne as a group, eager to sample a variety of their stunning creations — and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. Each dessert was not only visually breathtaking but also incredibly flavourful and well-balanced. You can tell that every piece is crafted with precision and creativity. The standout for me was the Lychee Raspberry – a perfect harmony of floral and fruity notes with just the right amount of sweetness. It was refreshing, delicate, and left a lasting impression. From the presentation to the textures and flavour profiles, every item was a treat for the senses. KOI is the perfect spot for anyone who appreciates artistry in desserts.

Iced matcha latte is thick and umami, very well made and not bland or overly milky at all. The earl grey matcha latte is also unique, you can taste both the matcha and earl grey, works as a pair. The cookie is a bit too sweet, but the iced matcha kinda neutralize it. Love everything here

Deserving of 5 stars because of the ube bingsu. This is the best bingsu I've ever had. The balance of flavours worked perfectly. Ube jam, corn flakes, mochi, ice cream. This was as good as it looked. I've had a lot of bingsus before but I didn't think it could get any better. I've posted a full review on my Instagram: @karam.eats if it interests you. The tiramisu bingsu is very well balanced, as in not too sweet but still creamy. The biscuits (?) inside gets quite bitter the longer you eat it as those were soaked in coffee. Just beware if you're sensitive to caffeine - we ate this at 9pm and couldn't sleep until 4am.

Bistro Morgan is a charming bakery and cafe in Windsor, known for its delectable handcrafted doughnuts, baked treats, and savory sandwiches. Founded by pastry prodigy Morgan Hipworth at the young age of sixteen, this cozy spot offers an array of Instagram-worthy dough delights with perfect textures and delightful fillings. While the doughnuts steal the spotlight, many rave about their exceptional toasties, particularly the ham and cheese option filled with a divine three-cheese blend.
What a delightful experience. First time visit and certainly will now become my favourite. Service was first class and engaging. The coffee was best in the area with such a wide choice of delicious food.. Had a scroll and could certainly of had another. So light and tasty.

🏠: @bistromorgan 📍: High St, Windsor 📝: Tried out these donuts from Bistro Morgan a while ago. Such a mouthwatering selection to choose from! ❤️: My favorite was the 🍓 Jam Donut. A classic you can’t really go wrong with. Another one to order is the Cinnamon Roll. Heat it up a little and enjoy it while its soft and warm 🤤

I’ve ordered from Bistro Morgan a few times in the past, and today I finally stopped by the shop in person. I just have to say — the customer service has always been excellent! Their chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon scrolls are absolutely delicious. Whether ordering online or visiting in person, it’s always been a great experience. Highly recommend! 😊

Gorgeous coffee and donut spot, especially as a pick me up on a Sunday morning. If you are looking for donuts that aren’t overly sweet I recommend having the biscoff one!

I've been here a few times and the staff have all been super friendly and provided great service. I haven't tried any of the pastries yet, but the coffee + toastie for $15 deal is a steal! Especially considering the toasties are large, and the coffee is quite good.

Ordered a too good to go, arrived on time to be told they are closed. Cool. When asking about what I shoukd do next and as to why they had posted it yesterday he was pretty rude and not understanding as to why I might have questions about spending $12 on nothing. He repeatedly just said " we are closed" and shrugged his shoulders. One of the most bizarre shopping experiences I've had.

Millstone Patisserie in Melbourne is renowned for its delectable selection of cakes, tarts, pastries, and petit gateaux. The patisserie offers custom cake designs and caters to various dietary needs with its vegan and gluten-free options. Owner Alice Wright's training at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris is evident in the refined yet unpretentious creations that exude Parisian charm with Aussie simplicity.
Absolutely fantastic café with beautiful French-inspired food — a true local gem in Malvern. I’ve visited many times, and the food, cakes, pastries, and coffee are consistently excellent. Many of the staff speak French, which adds to the authentic, charming atmosphere. The Parisian-style chairs and tables outside give it a lovely street-side feel, while the interior is warm and cozy. The staff are always welcoming and helpful - thank you!! The nourish bowl with hot honey halloumi is my particular favourite — fresh, flavourful, and perfectly balanced. The halloumi is deliciously crispy, and I’ve never had anything quite like it before. Perfect spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or even a relaxed afternoon tea. It’s also a great place to pick up some gorgeous pastries or cakes if you’re hosting at home and want a few impressive treats.

I was happy to visit the Millstone with my wife today. The place is just "the place to go" on a Saturdays morning. The food, the cakes and over all was very nice. The coffee bland is nice but the the making of it can be improved.

My friend recommended this cafe to me years ago, but I hadn't tried it until today, despite passing by many times. Upon entering, a 'wait to be seated' sign was displayed, but there were no staff available to guide customers. I was confused about where to wait to place my order, especially with an open window next to the sign. The staff seemed occupied with various tasks, such as moving food/plates to a van, cleaning tables, and serving food, but there was no one specifically attending to customers. When I placed my order, the cashier didn't inquire about dining in or taking away. I assumed I could enjoy my cake with my coffee, but I was mistaken. Firstly, as I'm not a coffee person, I won't comment on the coffee quality, but the size was small. Secondly, the cake I ordered was meant to be consumed on-site with the coffee. However, when I attempted to eat it, I found it to be rock-hard, indicating that it needed to be brought to room temperature before consumption. 🤷‍♂️ My dissatisfaction stems not from the quality of the cake but from the fact that the staff didn't mention the need to eat it at room temperature. I was eager to enjoy it when I was in the cafe, but I could not. So it’s still in my fridge. 🤷‍♂️ If the staff had informed me during my order, I wouldn't have purchased it. After placing my order, I found a table, but it was dirty, and despite staff walking around, no one was cleaning the table. Additionally, there were no utensils, no drinking water, and no table service available when I was sitting there watering for my drink and food.

I’m so glad a friend recommended this place for us to catch up at on a rainy Friday. We scored a table for two inside, checked in and found it hard to hard as everything looked delicious. My friend had the black porridge which was in the menu. It was delicious, soul warming and a great portion. I ordered a chicken baguette what was behind the counter. It was a great size and so good with my two coffees. We couldn’t resist one of the cakes that we couldn’t stop staring at during lunch. We shared the lemon drizzle cake. It was so good. I took home a slice of the blueberry cheesecake for my kids they loved it!

What a RIP-OFF! $10.50 for a 'Dog's Breakfast' lemon sponge cake. I was shocked when I opened the box at home. I would have returned it if I was still at the shop. Not only the slide is so thin for just a simple lemon sponge cake (I was told, no sign on counter for it), and it was badly handled looked like someone took a bite. That piece of dog's breakfast should not have been sold to begin with.

I would really like to be positive about this place but its impossibile. Firstly, SMILE! All the staff are always so rude or depressed looking. The food is so overpriced and the service is non existent… if you want to charge so much money for food, at least make people feel nice about spending their money here. I also must have missed something about the size of the croissants because now they are kid sizes! Never again, extremely underwhelming.

The coffee was amazing, and the Turkish eggs were so yummy! It’s been a long time since I’ve had such proper, delicious food. Must visit place in Malvernnn !!!

Great little cafe tucked away in a side street near Malvern Station and Glenferrie Road. Very busy at 12.30 on a Wednesday, but the constant turnover of tables means you won’t have to wait long. Coffee is excellent (I had a second), as was my toasted baguette. The cakes & pastries look amazing, much more interesting than the now all too common gluten, dairy and nut free or vegan offerings in many cafes. I know some people have allergies but am prepared to bet that many more do not. Finally, the attentive manager circulates constantly, checking that patrons are happy.

such an amazing vegan treats place!! 😍😍😍😍 got a double scoop of chocolate honeycomb and milo brownie on a cone for $8.50 😋 many other great treats there too like ice cream sammies, sundaes, acai bowls, ice cream cakes(!), and more. very friendly service and great space too.

This dessert place offers ice cream, cakes, ice cream cakes, cookies, ice cream sandwiches, sundaes, milkshakes and more! All kinds of cold, vegan desserts! Staff is friendly and lets you sample ice cream flavors, if you can't decide. Overall, the taste of what I had here was okay. A bit too sweet for me. But maybe your sweet tooth will like it better! The colorful store is located directly next to the restaurant called Vegie Bar. There are only a few seats indoors.

Tried the vegan ice cream at Girls and Boys for the first time. I had the wattleseed and macadamia ice cream. It was a great flavour that wasn’t too sweet. My friends had the mango and lassi which they loved. They also sell juices, smoothies and have many lunch options.

Insanely good vegan ice cream and dessert shop. Got the sundae (you chose two flavours) with the cookie dough and sticky date pudding, and it came topped with caramel sauce, huge chunks of choc chip cookie and little buckwheat crispy bits. There was actual cake pieces in the sticky date, and ribbons of cookie dough in the ice cream. Very sweet and rich but it's exactly what you want in a sundae and it was so good! I recommend getting a one scoop ice cream if you're alone, and the sundae to share with others. I also picked up a slice of carrot cake to eat later and it was so delicious. Cream cheese frosting, soft, moist cake - probably the best carrot cake I've eaten, vegan or not.

October 2022 Still a bloody good place for a chocolate thickshake. And the gelato is delicious. 2021 I went here for dessert with my partner. We shared some absolutely delicious ice cream and a chocolate milkshake. This place is fantastic. The ice cream was soo good, my thickshake was thick, creamy and it is suprisingly good given that everything in this shop is vegan and plant based. It doesn't get any better than this!! This place is a must visit. Previous review - June 2017 I have been trying to find a great chocolate thick shake for some time now. You know when you get something on your mind and you just can't get it out of your head? Haha Well today was the day to fix that craving! I called into Girls and Boys which is a vegan/vegetarian ice cream shop. OMGosh this place is amazing!!! I had a chocolate thick shake ($8) but it was worth it. It was definitely a meal in itself!! Perfect, no need for brekkie this morning haha This place is definitely worth a visit. If you want good heathy sustainable food this is definitely the place to go. Alternatively if you just want some yummy ice cream etc this is a great choice too haha. Enjoy 😋

Throwback to these two bowls I had for delivery from Girls & Boys. I’ve been wanting to try for a long time. Had their 💛 Golden Sunrise Nourish Bowl and 🍐 Pear & Cranberry Bircher. Golden Sunrise consists of a smoothie blend of 🥭 mango, 🍌 banana, turmeric, hemp seeds, 🥥 coconut milk and dates, topped with nuts, raspberries, and coconut flakes. The Pear & Cranberry Bircher is good id you’re looking for something a bit heavier and filling as a meal. Definitely will keep you full.

Black Star Pastry, a renowned bakery from Sydney, has gained a cult following in Melbourne for its Instagram-worthy desserts. The famous strawberry watermelon cake is a daily sell-out, along with other popular flavors like pistachio lemon zen cake, black sesame cheesecake, raspberry lychee cake, and houjicha-flavored Japanese black forest cake. They also offer gluten-free and vegan options. Customers praise the friendly service despite items selling out quickly.
It's $8.50 per Cake, it can't match the size of Cake with price, but the taste does. The coffee is nice as well. The yard is cool except the mess on the way to the toilet.

I'm a Sydneysider, the watermelon cake is not new to me but I was happy to hear it was coming and I went on the first day it opened . I liked the open kitchen and the friendly staff and more seat capacity than Sydney's . It wasn't busy during lunch time , I ordered a watermelon cake and a black seame cake , I was a bit exciting even I have never been a fan of the cake but for me the cake is an icon for Sydney foodies ( kind of ) I was so disappointed when the cake was delivered to me , it was sweeter and the rose scent was stronger than the one I had in Sydney . $8.5 was overpriced in my option , it was about 1/3 smaller but more expensive ( from my memory)
Matthew — Google review
Even though they sold out of the watermelon cake the guy behind the counter made that negative into a positive with his customer service and friendly personality. This itself deserved the 4 star rating. I tried the flan which was quite nice, texture was quite firm, not sure if it was because it was baked. The other cake i tried was some lemon zen cake. Even though it had the lemony tang it was a bit too sweet for my liking, but im sure to others itll be delicious. Pretty pricey for the portion size $8.50 for the cake and $6 for the flan was a bit more reasonable.

Cool concepts, modern vibe. We didn't finish either of the cakes🍰 as we found it too sweet for our palates. Although in saying that the first bite is fantastic, especially the watermelon cake🍉! Perfect for a summer day. My recommendation, go with friends and share a cake you will appreciate it more because it gets too sweet! Otherwise go check it out if you have a sweet tooth 😘 Thank you for having us 🙏

The cakes are good. Somehow their lychee cake tastes better than their famous watermelon one. A friend of mine brought me one last year from Sydney and it somehow tasted better. Probably it isn't watermelon season this time?

What an incredible experience at Chin Chin on Flinders Lane! The atmosphere is amazing,I especially loved the underground dining area with its calm and intimate vibe, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal. The food was absolutely delicious and came out so quickly, which was impressive given how busy the place can get. A special shoutout to our attendant..we forgot to ask her name, but we were truly amazed by her talent in describing every dish by heart. Her knowledge and warm service made our dining experience even more memorable. Thank you for your outstanding hospitality! We dined here with family visiting from overseas, and they were blown away by the vibrant flavours and quality of every dish. Definitely a must-visit spot in Melbourne! see photos of what we ordered

Every dish we tried was packed with flavour, and you can really tell how much attention goes into balancing spice, texture, and presentation. The vibe here is always buzzing, with a great atmosphere that makes dining feel fun and vibrant. The service was attentive and friendly despite how busy it gets, which really adds to the experience. We arrived for our lunch reservation early so went downstairs to the cocktail bar while we waited, and we are so glad we did. It had a totally different atmosphere and feel to the vibrant upstairs dining area. So we asked to be seated at the there for our booking. It's more intimate and the vibe was really good. Great music and easy to chat. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was outstanding. We did the Chef's Banquet which was eight share dishes. It was an explosion of flavours and by the end of it we were blown away. If you're in Melbourne, do yourself a favour and drop in to Chin Chin. Be sure to book and I would recommend asking to be seated at the cocktail bar downstairs. Amazing.

🎉🥂🙌 Our People Award 2025 at Chin Chin Celebration Feast! 🍾🎂🥳 Last night, our fabulous crew took over Chin Chin Melbourne to celebrate our Make An Impact - Our People Award 2025 - and what impact it was! Laughter echoed, cocktails flowed, and bellies were joyfully stretched as we indulged in a flavour-packed journey selected by the one and only Jorge. 🍽️ Highlights from the Table: - 🐟 Kingfish Sashimi — a symphony of balance and freshness. - 🦆 Crispy Duck — golden, tender, and gone in seconds. - 🥩 Wagyu Tartare rich, succulent, and perfectly seasoned. - 🐚 Scallops — delicate, delightful, and plated with finesse. - 🍛 Beef Cheek Thai Curry bold, aromatic, and melt-in-your-mouth magic. - 🍅 Heirloom Tomato Salad a vegetarian triumph that stole the spotlight. - 🍌 Banana Fritter — the sweet, crispy finale that wrapped our celebration in gooey bliss. 🍸 The Chin Chin buzz wrapped around us like a warm hug electric, vibrant, and unmistakably Melbourne. Big cheers to the Chin Chin staff who survived our spirited crew with grace and grit. Huge thanks to Jorge for the stellar menu selection, and to everyone who brought their appetite, energy, and good vibes. Nights like these remind us: great food and great company are the ultimate pairing.

Sat outside and definitely the right choice because it seemed a bit too loud inside for any conversation. The service was quick and the waiters were very attentive. The food was delicious (I am Thai)! Initially I expected an Asian fusion but the menu is predominantly Thai only, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Ordered the Padseew and fish with egg fried rice.

It was my first time visiting Chin Chin and it did not disappoint! We made a group booking for a birthday and were so impressed by all of the staff who interacted with us. The food was absolutely incredible. Every dish was bursting with flavour, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. We especially loved how fresh and vibrant everything tasted. When we weren’t sure what to order, our waitress gave us fantastic recommendations that turned out to be spot on. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, making the celebration feel extra special. What an amazing experience!! We will definitely be coming back!

My experience at Chin Chin in Melbourne was very average overall. The food ranged from excellent to downright unpleasant, which made the whole dinner inconsistent and disappointing. The atmosphere was far from enjoyable — the music was extremely loud and the place was so noisy that we could barely hear our server or even have a normal conversation at the table. The service itself was just average and didn’t make up for the chaotic environment. The restaurant seems to have gone overboard with its Asian-fusion concept. Some dishes simply didn’t work. The salmon baked in bamboo leaves was overcooked, dry, and lacking in flavor. The pork belly was also underwhelming and not enjoyable at all. The duck dish was a mix of highs and lows: the breast meat was juicy and nicely done, but the leg was burnt. And while I genuinely love spicy food, the level of heat in the duck was so overwhelming that even I found it hard to eat — and that says a lot. In short, Chin Chin left me with mixed feelings. It’s an interesting spot with potential, but the execution of both food and overall dining experience left much to be desired.

Donovans is a Hamptons-style beachside restaurant with a relaxed vibe and stunning ocean views. The plush, striped interiors exude comfort, making it an ideal spot for catching up with old friends or enjoying a romantic evening. The modern Mediterranean-inspired menu features deceptively simple yet sophisticated dishes, including charcoal-cooked offerings like Queensland leader prawns and whole baked duck. Situated in a former 1920s bathing pavilion, the restaurant offers wide-open views of St.
Beautiful, cosy vibe the moment you enter. Staff were attentive, warm and down-to-earth. Food was served in a very timely manner, no extensive waiting at all. Food was delicious, each mouthful was perfect 👌 it was obviously prepared with expertise and attention to detail. My daughter and I shared 2 entrees, had a main each, and shared a dessert and we were very satisfied. They also added something a little extra when we said we were there for my birthday. For me, it was a lovely and memorable dining experience 😊

An evening at Donovans, St Kilda - where sophistication meets the sea. We began with cocktails to set the tone: the daring Scary Mary with chilli-infused Belvedere vodka, and the jewel-like Green Velvet. To start, silky chicken liver parfait, delicate beef tartare, and a rich, ocean-kissed seafood linguine. Each bite, a quiet indulgence. For mains, the luxurious spanner crab ravioli in lemon butter, a perfectly grilled T-bone, and a flawlessly cooked crispy skin barramundi — plates that balanced finesse with flavour. Desserts were nothing short of theatre: Parky's sticky date soufflé, light as air yet decadent, and the iconic Bombe Alaska for two, an elegant finale to a remarkable meal. Dining at Donovans is not simply a meal... it is culinary artistry by the bay.

Chokolait is a sophisticated shop that offers an array of elegant chocolates, cakes, and pastries along with a selection of tea and espresso drinks. Their signature dessert, the pavlova, is a must-try - a bitter-sweet pav layered with chocolate and topped with fresh strawberries or dusted with green matcha for a unique twist. The hot chocolate is particularly praised for its thickness and smoothness, available in milk or dark chocolate options.
My husband and I had such a perfect time at Chokolait! The Chocolate Pavlova was delicious as expected, but the best part was the wonderful time spent with the Harveys. Mr. Harvey went out to our table, greeted us, introduced himself, told us about his previous career as a marketing executive, shared with us all about how the bakery was established, and shared with us also their future plans. Mrs. Harvey joined us also and was so kind 😊. Our experience at Chokolait was one of the most pleasant experiences of our trip through South Korea, Japan, and Australia this last year, and one of the yummiest stops!! - Dec 2024

Got an iced dark chocolate and an iced matcha chocolate. Both tasted a bit average in my opinion and weren’t worth the price. I wasn’t a fan of the graininess of the iced dark choc, and the matcha flavour wasn’t strong enough for me (think they could’ve added more matcha powder) with the white chocolate being a bit too overpowering.

TLDR: best rich hot chocolate ever, friendly service, hidden Full review: hanging out with husband and friends before lunch. The place is quite hidden. There's a corridor off to the side of the arcade and it feels like an area for staff or a dead end with nothing down there. However, this place was worth it. If you like your hot chocolate drinks to be rich and sweet, almost like drinking a good quality block of chocolate in liquid form, this is for you. This was the best hot chocolate I've ever had. Also comes in dark chocolate and alternative milk. Husband and I ordered 2x milk hot chocolate (there's also dark available) with almond milk, takeaway. Service was friendly, though not quick... and if they tell you they make "drinks to order" what they're referring to is the fact that they don't use pre-made syrups or powders but seem to melt down chocolate bars. The drinks come in shorter, stouter cups than I'm used to but it was comfortable to hold and drink from. The venue gave a deserted feel but there was a group of people who left with takeaways as we arrived and a family arrived as we left. The place doesn't have a nice ambience for hanging out, but I highly recommend visiting for takeaway. There was also a selection of interesting chocolates and other drinks/flavours which I'll have to come back and try. There were also prettily boxed chocolates for gifting.

Stepping into Chokolait felt like entering a secret haven for chocolate lovers. Nestled discreetly in Melbourne's Royal Arcade, it took some wandering and peeking to find, but the reward was worth it. The aroma of rich chocolate instantly hit me, a warm and inviting fragrance that promised delicious things to come. The display of chocolates was mesmerizing. Each piece looked like a tiny work of art, handcrafted with intricate designs and a variety of flavors that went beyond the usual suspects. I opted for a dark chocolate ganache with a hint of orange, and it was a revelation. The chocolate was smooth and melted in my mouth, and the orange zest provided a delightful burst of citrus that perfectly complemented the richness. The cafe itself was small and intimate, with just a few tables tucked away in nooks and crannies. This added to the charm, creating a cozy atmosphere where you could truly indulge in your chocolatey escape. I grabbed a seat by the window and watched the world go by, savoring each bite of my decadent treat. Overall, Chokolait is more than just a chocolate shop; it's an experience. It's a place to slow down, appreciate the finer things, and treat yourself to something truly special. I left feeling happy, satisfied, and already planning my next visit to try a different flavor adventure.

Best Hot Chocolate in Melbourne Hands down, I’ve never had a better hot chocolate in Melbourne! Absolute heaven for chocolate lovers and sweet tooths. It’s a small hidden gem in the Melbourne Arcade - not the typical Instagram aesthetic, but I love that there are always the same staff, maintaining consistent quality and it’s never overcrowded or noisy. I love coming here whenever I want to enjoy a little treat with my partner in peace and I’ve been returning ever since my first visit. The flavor of the hot chocolate just blew my mind! It’s real delicious Belgian chocolate melted and mixed with your choice of milk. I’ve also tried the Iced Chocolate and the White Chocolate Matcha and they’re all delicious. Definitely worth the price and you can support small business!

Brunetti Oro Flinders Lane is a delightful Italian café that has carved out a niche in Melbourne's vibrant food scene. This modern space offers an impressive selection of housemade pasta, pizzas, and an array of delectable sweets that are sure to satisfy any craving. The café features a stunning gelati bar and beautifully designed cabinets filled with mouthwatering pastries, including frittole doughnuts and custard-filled panzerotto.
What a fantastic spot to satisfy your sweet tooth! We dined in at Brunetti Oro on Flinders Lane and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The selection of cakes and chocolates is incredible, everything looks as good as it tastes. The highlight for us was the Dubai chocolate ice cream, which was absolutely delicious and a definite must try. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, making it perfect for a casual catch-up, date, or even just a quick coffee and dessert stop. If you love high quality sweets and desserts, this place is a must visit in Melbourne.

Great place! The coffee shop won me over with its aromatic freshly brewed coffee and delicious cakes – a real paradise for those with a sweet tooth. The atmosphere is cozy, the rooms are just perfect for relaxing and socializing. A great place to spend time and enjoy quality in everything. I will definitely come back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5/5) Visited Brunetti Oro, Flinders Lane with a friend this weekend and had such a lovely time! ☕🍰 The café itself has an amazing vibe—modern yet cozy, with a touch of elegance that makes it perfect for catching up or enjoying a relaxed meal. One thing to note is that the menu didn’t have any chicken items 🍗🚫, which was a bit surprising as it mostly featured pork, beef, and seafood options 🐖🐟🥩. However, there were plenty of items on display at the counter, so we chose from those instead. We ordered a Piadina and a Panini 🥪✨—both were absolutely delicious! Freshly made, warm, and packed with flavor. For dessert, we couldn’t resist trying the Nutella Cheesecake 🍫🍰 and the Cannoli Tiramisu ☕🍮. The cheesecake was rich and indulgent, but the real standout for me was the Cannoli Tiramisu—I absolutely loved it! 💕 Easily a must-try for anyone visiting. The staff were fantastic 🙌—so helpful, patient, and genuinely welcoming. They made the experience smooth and enjoyable despite how busy it was. A weekend surcharge 💸 was applied, which is common in Melbourne but worth noting. Overall, Brunetti Oro delivered on flavor, service, and vibes 🌟. A great spot if you’re after quality Italian-style bites and decadent desserts in the city. Would definitely recommend visiting with friends or even for a solo coffee treat. I’ll be coming back for that tiramisu again soon! 😍☕🍮

I absolutely love Brunetti Oro on Flinders Lane! ✨ It’s a beautiful space and the atmosphere is cozy. They have an amazing range of cakes, pizzas, food and drinks . It’s so hard to choose because everything looks delicious 😍. This time I only had a cappuccino ☕ and a rum cake 🍰, and they were both perfect. The coffee was smooth and rich, and the cake was so tasty . Next time I can’t wait to try more from their menu. I might even bring my laptop 💻, enjoy a coffee and cake while getting some work done , just the right the vibe for that too. Highly recommend this place 100% for any occasion , whether it’s catching up with friends, a date, or just some solo time. 💯👏

A perfect spot for Italian desserts! The Bomba Nutella full of flavor, and the coffee was excellent. The cozy, classic Italian vibe makes it ideal for a quick espresso or a relaxed catch-up. A must-visit in Melbourne for anyone who loves authentic sweets.

Brunetti Pro has such an amazing selection — cakes, pastries, coffee, gelato, you name it. Everything looks and tastes so good, it’s hard to choose just one thing. The vibe is lively and fun, and it’s a great spot to hang out or grab something sweet after a meal. Definitely one of my favourite dessert spots in Melbourne!

Had a aglio olio but surprised its not in the usual olive oil but some sort of sources, and the spaghetti tasted more like chinese noodles rather than pasta. Not used to it. While the quinoa salad serving is good, but it doesn't have much taste or flavor. The location is rather crowded, and service was good thought.

Dropped in to get a birthday cake, was better than average, not too sweet, even after being in the fridge for hours, it cut like it was frozen, but the next day was much softer, was as if the glaze offered that protection. Was one of the few cake shops still open late and didn't close at 4pm and had lots of options. Price guide (as of Oct 2025): 6 inch cake $48.90 Happy birthday chocolate deco $5 Total charge on. Card $54.55

Din Tai Fung, located at 287 Lonsdale St, Melbourne, VIC 3000, is a globally renowned restaurant celebrated for its meticulous preparation of dumplings. The establishment's kitchen is visible through glass walls, allowing diners to witness the precision and craftsmanship that goes into creating their famous Pork Xiao Long Bao. The chic modern space offers booth seating and an opportunity to observe all the culinary action.
I recently visited Din Tai Fung with my family of five for lunch, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot for a family outing. The decor was modern and inviting, creating a comfortable environment where we could enjoy our meal together. We were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices, especially considering the quality of the food. The service was quick and attentive, allowing us to enjoy a delicious meal without feeling rushed. Overall, Din Tai Fung provided a fantastic dining experience that was both budget-friendly and satisfying. We left happy and full, already planning our next visit! Highly recommend it for families looking for a tasty and enjoyable lunch spot... :)

Food was great! My friend and I really enjoyed the clear soup noodles and the dry noodles. They look simple but were full of flavours. What’s worth mentioning is their impeccable service. We wanted to ask about the menu and this guy carrying a stack of many dim sum steamers tall enough to block his view stopped to help us. Very impressed by their dedication to be attentive to customers.

Pretty good restaurant overall with a fair price. I enjoyed the fried rice which was eggy (I like that) 🍚 and the xiao long bao with really nice soup and thin skin 🥟. The sweet and sour chicken was a bit too sweet for me, but it wasn’t bad and it aas crispy. The beans 🫛 w minced pork were mid (tasteless beans, and the pork was veeerry salty - didn’t balance well). Perhaps stick to their rice/noodle dishes and dumplings. Service was good with food coming out very quickly.

Ding Tai Fung Melbourne has exceeded my expectation for my dining experience. The servers were very kind, attentive and happy to serve. The food is great and so tasty. Our favourite is the Crispy Prawn with Mayonnaise & Pineapple. We even bought 2 to take home. The ambience was really nice as well. The Toilet is clean and well maintained. Over all, you deserve a 10-10! We will definitely be back☺️

Great place to have Xiao Long Bao, the price is on the higher side, but the service is quite nice. They are not as busy as they used to be, so on weekday lunch time, we didn’t need to make a reservation. Food wise: 👍🏼 Xiao Long Bao (juicy) 👍🏼 Spicy shrimp and pork wonton (really tasty chilli sauce) 👍🏼Crumbed chicken fillet (really good asian fired chicken flavour, maybe one of the best) 👍🏼 Taiwanese Fried Chicken Bao (soft bun, crispy chicken, the coleslaw is fine) 😐 Shrimp & Pork Shao Mai (nothing special) ❌ Chinese Broccoli with garlic (theres no sauce ?) ❌ Pan Fried Chicken Mushroom Pot Stickers (is not crispy at all) ❌ Wagyu Beef & Vegetable Spring Roll (can’t taste the wagyu at all) We will definitely come back to try their other dishes.

Pretty spacious dining place. Their steam dumplings are pretty good. Comes with different meat filling options. My favourite is the pork dumplings. So juicy and tender. We also had chicken chilli, egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken and it wasn't bad. So many option in the menu. Will definitely go back to try more. Price was reasonable. Service was fast and friendly beside the slow robots taking you to the table was a bit frustrating. Overall, pretty happy with the food

My first time Melbourne Ding Tai Feng, they taste gorgeous, super thick soup for the Xiao Long Bao. the service was pretty cool you getting lead to your seat from one server to the other which is a little bit weird for me. the fried rice is their specialty and it does taste good, and serves really fast. the dim sum are the usual shape, taste good, so no complain.

Let me tell you about my trip to Din Tai Fung in Melbourne, Victoria. Now, I'd heard the hype about this dumpling place for ages, so my expectations were definitely high. Walking in, the whole vibe was modern and chic, with this open kitchen where you could see the chefs meticulously folding those famous xiao long bao. It felt a bit on the busy side, but the energy was good. We ordered a steamer basket of their classic pork dumplings, of course. And let me tell you, the first bite lived up to all the praise! The soup inside was this burst of flavorful broth, and the pork filling was perfectly seasoned. It was like a little explosion of deliciousness in my mouth. We also tried the crumbed chicken fillet, which was surprisingly light and crispy on the outside, and juicy and tender on the inside. Overall, Din Tai Fung was a great experience. The food was undeniably delicious, the service was efficient, and the atmosphere was buzzy. It's definitely not the cheapest place for dumplings, but the quality and experience definitely justify the price tag. If you're looking for a taste of some seriously good Shanghainese cuisine, I highly recommend checking it out!

Rumi is a casual restaurant located in East Brunswick, offering a modern take on Middle Eastern cuisine. The menu features a variety of dishes with Arabic, Lebanese, and Iranian influences, including charcoal chicken wings, spicy lamb, king prawns, Persian meatballs with tomato and saffron sauce, almonds and house yoghurt. The restaurant also offers takeout options for those who prefer to dine at home.
Beautiful Middle Eastern food with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We ordered individual dishes like the sigara boregi, Persian meatballs, and advieh-marinated lamb shoulder — all were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was friendly and attentive. Next time, we’re definitely keen to try the set menu to experience even more of what Rumi has to offer. Highly recommend for a delicious and memorable meal!

Beautiful evening, I let them know we were running late, the team moved our time so it was no issue,. Service was warm , friendly , efficient and fast! We took advice on whether we ordered enough dishes.. spot on! Our dips, olives, meatballs, cauliflower, salads, lamb , chicken and of course the potatoes … was just delicious the desserts too. It was pretty perfect! thank you Rumi

Absolutely love the new location. It’s large and sleek and has all the soul of the original, plus many of the signature dishes. It’s great seeing Lebanon and surrounding area represented on the wine list. The Lebanese lemonade is great too. As for food, there are no bad choices but the meatballs and the quail skewers are two favourites. There are plenty of solid veg options too including the fried cauliflower, freekeh salad and cheese cigars. Everyone working when we visited were lovely too.

Came to Rumi for the first time to celebrate my 21st birthday with some friends. The Persian meatballs, the Labne and Macdous yoghurt dip, the Sigara Boregi, the lamb shoulder and Freekeh salad are some of my top picks. Oh and the Macadamia Baklava Ice Cream Sandwich. I’d try ordering à la carte but the dishes on the menu tasted as good as they sound. I’d be so undecided or I would’ve ordered the whole menu. For first timers like I was, I suggest the banquet (set) menu. We ordered ‘The Rumi Feast’ and every course was an experience. Shoutout to the one who attended our table also. Great service. He recommended some of the specials, and was very attentive with table upkeep as we got through each course. And we had water for the table, standard at most restaurants of course, but it was about the pour. Highest pours (with such skill) I’ve ever seen, done from a pretty unconventional, though unique piece of glassware with really good laminar flow (reminds of that one teapot comparison video where they compare pots with different price points by pouring water you’d know what I mean). We also had this drink called ‘Arak Fakra’ which contained 55% alcohol. It’s pretty high but when we ordered, we were informed how we should drink it (hint: *not* straight up and it’s not wine, but more so spirits). It was not all to our tastes, but it added to the experience. I was designated driver in my group so I had the Rumi Mocktail. Nicely presented, sugar coated rim, sweet and tasty. Overall ambience was good, the decor is very nice, not over the top, clean throughout, and not at all generic. Would love to come back someday.

Regular customer, as this restaurant never dissapoints. A very impressive wine list, with an array of European selections. The food is always fresh, delicious and memorable. The banquet is a great choice for those wanting to taste key dishes on their menu... and dessert is a must! The Baklava icecream is divine!
Denise T — Google review
The quail barbecue is world-renowned, as highlighted by Anthony Bourdain in CNN documentaries. You must start with the quail kebab barbecue and order the Persian rice accompanied by walnuts and raisins; it’s divine. After that, you can try the rest of the menu, which is also amazing.

Rumi · the iconic Melbourne Lebanese-Middle Eastern restaurant still living up to its reputation 19 years after opening. We ordered the Rumi Classic Banquet for two, a Rumi Mocktail, and a Turkish Delight Cocktail. The standouts of the meal included the Almond Taratoor Dip (delightfully smooth and flavourful), the Persian Meatballs (perfectly seasoned, in a delicious sauce), the fried cauliflower (sheet melt in your mouth goodness), and the BBQ chicken skewers (the perfect blend of sumac zing and harissa kick). Some variation will be seen in our photos due to a mint allergy (leaves and sauces on the side).

Nice coffee with real chocolate crumble. Nice environment as well. But the waitress was irritated when I asked her politely to clean the table a bit and got more annoyed when I tried to clean it by myself because she didn't see or clean the sticky stain at my side. Five stars to the coffee and environment. Two stars for the service.

So. Firstly, lemon tart is very nice. Dessert is adorable. Chocolate is really rich. But I had high expection about their coffee and hot chocolate. Unfortunatelly, coffee is too hot make it taste too sour. The milk frothed very fine but how could it get so hot, I dont quite understand, And hot chocolate is really rich and smooth, but too sweet, and the topping is needless. Last thing, which probably not important, but, I really hope they could change a better plate. White plate with white table is not really good experience for photo.

The hot chocolate were pretty damn good. Comes with a cookie (which is ok). Service could be better, overall good. The cakes mostly (except for the vegan cakes) had gelatine so not generally great for vegetarians.

Utterly terrible experience here. Do not even approach this store if more then 2 people are in here. The staff have no idea how to handle multiple people ordering or completing orders. For a simple menu, only ordering drinks and cakes, it took over 45 mins to complete, during that time our order was drip fed to us making it awkward for us. We were even missing an item, the staff didn't care nor offer a resolution to the missing item. The place is small and when multiple people come in with prams and block any route around the place meaning our slow order took even longer (staff didn't assist or ask people to move their shopping bags, children or prams from all over the place). The hot chocolate and cakes were nice, but wholeheartedly not worth the wait not exuberant price.

This soul has been dying to have a perfect THICK Italian-style Dark Hot Chocolate ever since eternity (a year to.be honest 🤣). Donut shop
American Doughnut Kitchen, located in Queen Victoria Market, is a must-visit for anyone in Melbourne. The hot jam donuts are a classic and always draw long lines due to their deliciousness. Despite the wait, the fluffy and fragrant doughnuts with a molten core of strawberry jam are worth it. The service is efficient, and you can get five doughnuts for $7.50 from the cute little van inside the market.
When I told both Melbourne locals and those who had visited previously that I was heading to the Queen Victoria Markets for the first time, 90% of people (if not more!) said I needed to get in early and head straight to the American Doughnut Kitchen van. Not one to argue with the majority, I decided to do just that. I rocked up at the market at 9am sharp on Sunday and was delighted to be the only one in the queue. The workers were happy, friendly and even though I just ordered one jam doughnut, the lady serving me threw in an extra one as a treat 🙂‍↔️ I found a seat, got the just-fried doughnut out of the bag and went to doughy heaven. I’m a keep-it-basic cinnamon doughnut kind of girl, but this was a real treat. It was warm, so fresh, the jam was more like a delicious berry coulis and had a slight tang (which helped offset the sugar coating). The dough itself wasn’t overly sweet which again I really liked. It was more bread like than brioche like, and felt more ‘traditional’. Overall, it was the best $2.20 I’ve spent in a long while. *I did notice that after about 9:30am the queue to the van became super long so it’s worth getting in early!
Alouise T — Google review
Bought one hot jam doughnut for $2.30. Came around lunchtime, no crazy queue. They’ve temporarily moved to the E-Shed due to nearby construction, but it’s still easy to find. The doughnut was piping hot, crispy outside and soft inside, filled with sweet jam. Very sweet though, one is definitely enough or it gets jelak! A nice little treat to end your food hunt at the market haha. 🍩
Melvin J — Google review
The American Donut Kitchen is hands down the best jam donut spot in Melbourne. Hot, fresh, fluffy, and absolutely packed with delicious jam – all coated in the perfect layer of sugar. These donuts are next-level good. The big queues say it all – they’re pumping out these gems all day long, and they’re worth every second of the wait. An absolute must-try when visiting Melbourne!
Andy S — Google review
The line is long but it’s so worth the wait. The doughnuts are freshly made there, filled with warm jam. It’s not too sweet thanks to the jam adds a nice tanginess that cuts through. The dough is warm has a nice chew but is so fluffy. I definitely recommend getting it as a snack. They keep making them so I don’t believe they run out. Don’t give up on the wait!

Got recommended by my sister in law, and glad we tried it! It was a chilly morning in Melbourne and we had the hot jelly doughnuts, beautiful 😍😍 soft, warm and lots of filling inside. The queue was pretty long when I got there I guess it’s pretty popular.

I visited this place, coming from Adelaide for the weekend. Safe to say the reviews are on point - the doughnuts are a generous size, pillowy as all hell, warm, cozy, filled with a delicious raspberry-plum jam and coated in sugar. You honestly can't go wrong. I only got the bag of 5, but immediately I wanted to get more. I'm grateful these guys aren't in Adelaide otherwise I'd be there nearly every day 😂

Agathé Pâtisserie is a delightful French pastry stall located in South Melbourne Market, where pastry chef Agathe Kerr has been creating homemade pastries since 2015. The stall offers an array of delectable treats, including bicolored croissants with unique infusions like matcha and pandan, as well as indulgent cruffins filled with Nutella, salted caramel, and peanut caramel custard.
There is not a moment without a queue at Agathe. The decadent French pastries staring at you, makes you want to hug one from each. This time I had the cheese cake, which was rich, smooth and creamy. We also bought a chocolate tart which was just the right amount of sweetness and saltiness . I have also tried their croissants and cakes which are all so tasty and fresh.

Pretty good pastries but there was a very long line to get in. The pandan was very popular and took us two tries to get it as it kept getting sold out. While it was good, I wouldn’t get it again as it tasted like a normal croissant that was green. The croissants were fresh and hot and it was good.

Agathe is a popular patisserie in Melbourne with multiple locations. I’ve been a few times and there are always lines on the weekend. I recently got to try the pandan croissant and it really surprised me. The flavour was definitely sweet but didn’t feel heavy. And the pastry itself was just so crispy, flaky and chewy - one of the best croissants I’ve ever had. I particularly liked that it didn’t fall/flake apart when biting into it! It was also moist and seemed freshly made. The other typical flavours like plain and chocolate are good but didn’t stand out like the pandan. Price definitely isn’t cheap at almost $10. Definitely recommend a visit and hope you’re lucky with timing (I was there after lunch).

13/7/25 - 4.5 stars Probably one of the most famous bakery chains in Melbourne and for good reason. I was recommended this place several times and seems like many other ppl were too cos the lines are always long. That being said, service turnover is quite fast. The pastries are freshly made and in pretty big batches, but, even still things were sold out like the flan which was highly recommended. The quality of the croissants were exceptional though so was worth waiting. Croissants Pandan: SS, 9/10. As advertised, delicious but maybe just a bit too sweet Original: SS, 9/10. Just buttery and tasty. Texture: SS+, 9.5/10. As good as any I've ever had Value: S, 7/10. $9 for pandan is a little bit much but $7 for original is good.

OK, what do you get when you cross a croissant with a croque monsieur? No, not a ham and cheese croissant, much much more. Agathe Patisserie bakes this little number well, keeps them warm in a pie warmer for lunch (Royal Arcade store) and takes me straight back to Paris where often a boulanger adds a dollop of bechamel to the leg ham and gruyère before rolling/baking the ultimate lunchtime croissant. Well done Agathe, awesome work mate. Kate Reid your ham and gruyère croissant has a challenger!

Doughboys Doughnuts is a donut shop that delivers to suburbs within 10km from Melbourne CBD. The shop stocks six delicious doughnuts, like the raspberry old fashion or the maple long john.
Definitely recommend if you’re in the area! Went on multiple days, loved the Brûlée donut they have in June and the Raspberry was my personal favourite. Friendly staff and cool atmosphere.

This doughnut cornershop, thats been open for 10 years have onlt decided to bake fresh bagels after diving deep into inventive donut flavours. Despite the many donut shops we now have circling around, this cornershop has stood here strong and proud and is now baking bagels daily. And I gotta say their bagels are ONE OF THE BEST. Texture and quality. Theyre not here to make a loaded statement, with loaded bagels, but are bringing you authentic bagels from new york. They have new varieties for donuts but their bestseller lemon meringue and sea salt caramel will always be a staple.
Mel B — Google review
Really good quality doughnuts - up there with other Melbourne doughnut places you hear about. Tried both the cinnamons - old fashioned and original. Very nice! The original was a lighter spongier texture which I preferred. The old fashioned was crunchy on the outside, crumbly on the inside and had a darker outer appearance compared to the original - kinda tasted like a deep fried cake and definitely reminds me of older style cinnamon doughnuts that you'd get from carnivals and fetes many years ago. The standout for me was the cheesecake bomba. The filling absolutely blew my mind (it was so creamy and rich) and the white chocolate flavour was spot on! I love that the doughnuts weren't super duper sweet either. Whilst still sweet, they were balanced and easy to eat. Lovely!

As I’ve always been a massive fan of Doughboys and have been getting doughnuts from them since they were at Queen Vic market over ten years ago. I don’t think I’ve ever had a flavour I didn’t enjoy and yesterday the strawberry cookie didn’t disappoint but I found the service to be a little strange. Sometimes staff have been super friendly but it has a strange vibe more recently. I miss some of the older flavours they don’t get out so much being strawberry panacotta, blueberry cheesecake, passion fruit etc but now they have bagels in the mix too, you can’t possibly expect new flavours weekly or daily like it used to me. I will forever be a loyal fan and one of the only reasons to come to Melbourne

Had a bagel craving and came to satiate it at doughboys. Safe to say that they met our cravings! We ordered smoked salmon bagel, glazed donut and the Mont Blanc. Cold smoked salmon Bagel — 9.5/10 Smoked salmon itself was incredibly delicious, the bagel was toasted nicely creating a really beautiful crunch—only thing is that it is a tad bit pricey. Glazed Donut — 8.7/10 A really solid and high quality doughnut! Not super pillowy, slightly denser than for instance, Krispy Kreme donuts, but honestly so much better! Glaze is perfect and the dough was so delicious—you could see the little specks of vanilla in there! Mont Blanc — 8.5/10 If you like Mont Blancs then definitely try out! Orange flavour is prominent. Overall very harmonious. Recommend! Atmosphere is very clean, inviting and sophisticated. I would say that the service there was fine, but it never hurts to smile 😛

A nice spot for a quick coffee, and true to the name, they also sell doughnuts. I was recommended the matcha puff, and it did not disappoint, smooth, flavourful, and a little indulgent. I also tried the original doughnut, which was simple but really enjoyable with a soft texture and just the right amount of sweetness. The café has a casual and relaxed vibe, making it easy to pop in for a quick treat or coffee break. Overall, it is a convenient and tasty stop if you are in the area and craving something sweet with your coffee.

Best executed bagels ever—makes me feel like I’m back home in the USA. I can say with great authority, as a true aficionado of the bagel, Doughboys hits it. Service is a bit spotty, but whatever. Bagels are so good, I put up with it.

Piccolina Gelateria is a must-visit for gelato enthusiasts. They offer a delectable range of flavors, including unique collaborations and limited edition options like the Coconut and Pandan gelato with Davidson plum and beetroot sorbet. Their regular flavors like Pistachio and Better than Nutella are highly recommended. What sets Piccolina apart is their exceptional customer service, making the experience even more enjoyable. Visitors praise the high-quality desserts and quick, efficient service despite the bustling atmosphere.
Personal experience; great product and amazing place in terms of design. The icecream wasn't too cold so it melted pretty quick. They had lactose free options too!

The best gelato! Every flavour is a hit and I love all the rotating specials. The Piccolina Project has become a much anticipated yearly tradition to try as many as possible!

📍@piccolinagelateria, Collingwood We have recently tried this gorgeous gelato cake called The Final Jam from Piccolina and it was definitely my jam - pun intended 😂 This gelato cake is super fruity, not too sweet and so cute too! I absolutely love tropical fruits so the mango-coconut combo was perfect for me 🥰 They have other gelato cake options including tiramisu and lemon meringue, you can check all of them out on Piccolina's website and stores 🤗 🥭 The Final Jam $79: mango sorbet, coconut gelato, mango jam, coconut dacquoise base, white chocolate and toasted coconut glaze, mascarpone mousse, mango and passionfruit gel.

Great ice cream but man have they chopped back on the size of them. Very much shrinkflation vibes. This (in the photo) was a double or two scoop for almost $9. And when I say I was SHOOOK when she put a tea spoon amount of 2nd scoop… My boyfriend just laughed. I also have very small hands and even they make the cup look small. As much as I’d love to go back because the ice cream itself is so good, unless this changes I probably won’t be :( RIP Piccolina Smith Street, you were great until you weren’t
Will P — Google review
This is some smooth and creamy gelato. Simple flavours done so right, there’s no way you’ll stop at one scoop. Only criticism is that golden gaytime isn’t all year round - it’s that good so watch out for that rotating specials board.
Seefood C — Google review
Came here after dinner for the gelato. You can free ask for free sample taste and the staff gladly acceded to your request. After the sample taste of passion fruit and pistachio, decided to order a scoop of pistachio and white chocolate each. Well they really are good and have no regrets. They are creamy and delicious.

Oh WOW. Phenomenal. Texture of gelato was decadent. Flavor was on point. Above all, service was amazing. Great way to finish off the night (went to Solo pasta cross the street and the service was really bad) so just crossed the street and spent our money elsewhere :)
KC L — Google review
The Pistachio was creamy, thick, and nutty. It had the right amount of sweetness, without overwhelming the natural taste of pistachio. The store had a rustic yet cozy feel. Shopfront was prominent, it's hard to miss it.

Restaurant
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is a restaurant that serves exquisite European cuisine. The service is impeccable and the food is simply amazing. The chicken breast was cooked to perfection and the infamous meat fruit was also highly recommended. Overall, it was an amazing experience and well worth the money.
Amazing service, the food is sublime. The most pleasantly surprised dish for me was the chicken breast. Who knew chicken breast can be this tasty? It was cooked to the point of absolute perfection. The infamous meat fruit is highly recommended for entree. And the tipsy cake for dessert was absolute best. It also helped that we were able to see the fire from crown casino in every hour. Great experience, absolutely worth the money.
Iris N — Google review
What an amazing experience! Each dish had a unique concept inspired by what kings ate in the middle ages. The flavour combination was well balanced, meat perfectly cooked and service exemplary. Will definitely come back again. The meat fruit and tipsy cake lives up to the hype!
Katie C — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience here, as well as great food this venue is also fortunate enough to have great views over the water and city skyline by being on level 3 of crown (most are on the ground level). We had the lunch set with matching wines. We only noticed the pineapples on the spit in the kitchen (see pic) after we had finished, they looked very enticing and will certainly come back to try one next time.
Thomas B — Google review
Very late post - dined here back in Sep. Loved the entrance which sets a tone of the unknown & what is yet to come. As our group were showed to our seats you walk past the rotating pineapples which look oh so tasty. The fitout is amazing & the views are fantastic. Service was very attentive as is expected in these types of establishments. One thing is the waiter kept pushing for us to get drinks, which funnily enough ended up costing more than our meals! Food wise - unfortunately I wasn’t really wowed by the flavours, although there was nothing wrong about them either (maybe it was the dishes we ordered?). The highlight would be the meat fruit was tasty & needed more toast to go with it, so moreish! Glad I was able to try this place out either way. This place is a nice place to go with groups or for an intimate date. Bookings are definitely a must here!
Miss D — Google review
Went here for lunch and we ordered A La Carte as we thought the tasting menu would have been too much for us. Judging by how full we were off these dishes alone I think it’s safe to say we were right. Each dish was amazing. The meat fruit was sooo smooth and the bread that was served with it complemented it so perfectly. For mains we had the pork which I really enjoyed every bite of. The tipsy cake (although I’m not a dessert person) was one of my favourite dishes. Highly recommend and will definitely be back to try the other dishes in the near future!
Nikita S — Google review
This is my second time dining here. Loved it just as much the second time and was able to try some dishes I hadn't seen before from the first time. I had to have the meat fruit again, always love that one. Also had the steak which was probably my least favourite of all the dishes (it doesn't look great in the photos either). It was cooked very well and the jus was very tasty but I guess it's my fault for choosing steak when there were so many more interesting options available. My wife had the snapper and it was cooked perfectly and tasted very interesting. Dessert was my favourite as always. Had to get the tipsy cake again and it was just as good the second time around. But the eggs in verjuice managed to top it. Loved it. All in all it was a fantastic experience and would definitely do it again. It goes without saying the staff are very professional and make the experience even better with their knowledge of the menu.
Ian S — Google review
Service was excellent, waiters really had initiative and were incredibly professional, nice, and knew what they were doing. The food is cooked to perfection too. With the exception of the starters (especially meat fruit), everything felt......almost clinical. I can't fault the food because it is cooked perfectly, but it wasn't memorable and didn't have alot of personality. Although I've had food that's objectively worse at cheaper place, it so much more than the mains.
Raymond H — Google review
Amazing. The food is delicious, impeccably presented, cooked to perfection and with such interesting and historical flavours! There are so many lovely touches to make your night special like the stories inside the menu band and little treat on your departure. The staff are so friendly and professional and are prompt and attentive. I always say that a good restaurant clears the crumbs off your table sometime during the meal and this is done here post mains. This is the second time we have been here and we are never disappointed by the restaurant, its phenomenal.

Nikos Oakleigh is a specialty cake supplier and cafe known for its Greek sweets, croquembouche, macaroons, and eclairs. The location in Eaton Mall offers a bustling cafe atmosphere with an irresistible selection of cakes and confectionery creations. In addition to their sugary delights, Nikos also serves an extensive and reasonably priced lunch menu. The cozy corner lounge provides a perfect setting for special occasions.
Delicious cakes I always get Nikos cakes since we are the first one. Just got one for my Birthday, 2 weeks ago for our Wedding and for the Bridal Shower. They are all delicious and pretty cakes, I’ve communicated with Sofia for our Wedding and the Bridal Shower cakes and she was awesome. Thanks again for the yummy cakes

Niko's has some of the best cakes and coffee I've ever had. I heard George Clooney likes to stop by here so I just had to try it. There were some pigeons and I heard someone exclaim, "Oh no they're coming in through the backdoor!" But the Niko's team got that sorted quickly. I highly recommend this place.

This cake shop and cafe is a lovely place to visit. They have good options with great taste, and the cafe makes it even better for a quick stop. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Prices are fair, which makes it worth coming back. You can just walk in, but if you want a specific cake, it’s better to pre-book. The only challenge is finding timed street parking nearby, but overall it’s a great spot.

One of the best New York cheese cakes I have ever tasted. The service was impeccable and the place had a nice atmosphere. Coffee was nice too. Will definitely be returning.

I was surprised with a cake from Nikos Cakes for my 18th Birthday tonight. The talented team created the cake to look like my favourite book and the actual cake was designed as a book as well. It looked incredible to the point that I didn’t want to cut it, but it was delicious nonetheless. Thank you Nikos and continue the amazing work ❤️🔥
Vicky G — Google review
Lots of variety of desserts, very busy cafe and great atmosphere, we ordered pistachio cake (very sweet and liked the fluffiness) oreo mud cake (super dry, not very moist, not much oreo flavour) yoyo (not really sure what it was, lots of custud filling which was sweet and tangy. soy latte was nice. lots of options, would come back to try other desserts, I believe there are 20+ options and also have lots of savoury options on the other side of the store.

⭐ 1 Star – Rude and Unpleasant Experience I visited Niko’s Quality Cakes in Oakleigh and had one of the most unpleasant customer experiences I’ve had in a while. While I was taking a short video of the sweets at the counter, an older woman who works there abruptly interrupted me — like a seagull swooping in — just to get behind the counter. I let it go and bought a Turkish pistachio pastry for $8.90, asking her to pack it since I had an appointment after. I sat down outside for a few minutes to enjoy it and take a quick photo, but she came at me again and told me to get out because it was a smoking area. I wasn’t smoking, just quietly eating what I’d just paid for. The tone and attitude were unnecessarily rude and dismissive. Businesses like this are supposed to make people’s days a little brighter — not treat customers as a nuisance. It’s sad to see a place with good-looking pastries and such poor customer service.

Nestled discreetly next to a Malaysian eatery on the quieter side of Brunswick Street, Awa French Crêperie & Café is easy to overlook due to its minimal street signage. However, once you spot the inviting rows of coffee bags and takeaway cups lining one wall, stepping inside reveals a delightful experience that embodies the essence of Fitzroy. This charming café specializes in serving authentic French crêpes in a warm and welcoming atmosphere adorned with French art and friendly staff.
I ordered strawberry-banana chocolate crepe and it was very soft and delicious, good with a cup of warm coffee. It was, to be honest, not enough I wished I order more and more! The restaurant was decorated nicely with welcoming vibe, good for photos. The staff was nice as well. It was such a nice place to visit in Fitzroy!

Lovely little Crêperie in Fitzroy. The space is small but welcoming and the service was very friendly and efficient. We tried two of the sweet crepes, a croissant, a hot chocolate, and a blueberry smoothie. We loved everything we tried! The crepes were very well made and the ingredients used were clearly high quality. The dark chocolate and housemade caramel were divine. The hot chocolate was deliciously rich, the croissant light and buttery, and the smoothie wholesome and yum. They also had a range of vegan and GF sweets available too. We’ll definitely be back to try more of these delicious crepes and maybe a galette next time too.

Delicious food, it was great to buy a crepe with lemon and sugar for $10. There was tap water as well. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was very French.

Loved this place! Beautiful ambience and attentive staff. Last minute visit on the way back from the CBD for afternoon tea. Found this cosy little gem on Google maps. We ordered the Madeleine crepe together with the Paris Moulin Rouge. The Madeleine was simple but oh so lovely! I would definitely order that again. The Paris Moulin Rouge was a treat and surprisingly not too sweet. The crepes were substantial and not paper thin like some I’ve had elsewhere. We ordered a cappuccino and flat white. Coffee was exceptional! Beautifully made crepes and exceptional coffee with French music playing in the background… what more could we want?

Went there for brunch. We had Le complete and the salmon with avo. Both were good and tasty. Would recommend if you’re looking for french crepes in the area. Also the staff was so nice, I wanted to buy the madeleine but he gave it to me for free ☺️

Tiny little creperie on Brunswick St that brings the flavours. The crepes are light and delicious. I had the poached pear with their house caramel sauce. So good. I'm not a fan of hot chocolate but I tried my breakfast companions and I'm converted. There are options for vegetarians if you want something savoury and I'll be trying one of those on my next visit.

Looking at photos of previous reviews, hard to tell if their serving size has gone down dramatically or we just met a worker that was very “light” on serving. Purchased a two scoop gelato. The flavours were lovely but for the price point we felt you are better off going to picolino or another store.

This Messina is fantastic. The team who work here are always attentive and happy to help however they can - even though I end up getting the same cookies and cream each time. Thanks for all your kindness and delicious gelato.

Another great Gelateria in Melbourne.. So many unique flavours to choose from, packed with flavour & chunky ingredients. Each week they have special flavours to try which are always interesting & delicious. I had the praline pistachio which was packed with nuts but not overly flavoursome & the tiramisu which I was also a little disappointed in as it wasn’t bursting with the tiramisu / mascarpone / coffee flavours. The service was good - like most ice cream shops - limited seating inside the store. Definitely worth the visit, if in the area 🍨 Buonissimo 😋
MazCal — Google review
ORDERED: 🍦  Pistachio Praline ($6.27) for one scoop in a cone REVIEW: My favourite flavour at Messina, the pistachio praline does me right every time. A caramelised clump brings texture, with the perfect amount of nuttiness coming through. It's addictive, and if you like pistachios normally - you'll love the ice cream version. Was able to taste a little before I committed to the Pistachio. Super helpful to take advantage of trying different flavours so you don't get regret, and they're happy to cater for a couple of tries! Seating is limited, similar to their other locations. Nonetheless, Messina is a classic option and great option for an easy dessert.

Black haired guy with tattoos has an attitude problem. First when we asked if a flavour was still in, he raised his hands to the air and slapped them down rudely saying ' that was last weeks special' as if we should've known. Then when my partner was asking about what's in some flavours, he kept telling her 'if you read the board...' and fed up when she told him that she expected him to be able to tell her as he's right in front of her instead of making her read the board he got incredibly defensive fast with crap like 'calm down I'm not attacking you!' over and over again. Dudes got an ego and a attitude problem. We drove over 40 minutes to come here. Won't be coming back.

The quiche crusts were too sweet, it was like eating a sugar biscuit with scrambled egg. It didn’t pair well with the filling at all, and it was basically inedible for a savoury lunch. We essentially had to eat only the filling because the crumb was way too sweet.

The workers here are members of the community. They are personable, smiling, and excellent at their jobs. The food is more expensive than most cafes but it is absolutely worth it. Took the stress away, asked the right questions and even walked it 500m down the road at two different times. First the coffee order and then lunch. The bonus is food is fresh, healthy and the deserts are amazing. Try the baclava! This is a palace with right combination of service and food. Love it!

Not bad but not great. The coffee is too weak for my liking and the hazelnut slice is reminiscent of something you would get in Ikea. That's not a bad thing necessarily, Ikea desserts hit the spot when you need a sugar fix.

The tiramisu cake was delightful, enjoyed every bite of it. Strawberry tart was good too. But the pistachio cheesecake was a bit sweet. Prices average to about $11 a piece, so it’s not exactly cheap, but I wouldn’t mind going back for the tiramisu again 😁

Came to have a little treat, and I asked if they had gluten free options and the answer was “I don’t know.” The desserts clearly had the sign with the GF but they said they did not know if that was correct. They should take very serious what they sell because that can cause a really bad allergic reaction to someone. I suggest to get better training for these kind of questions.

Went in this morning for the first time in a few years, having forgotten why I didn't go back after the last visit... now I remember. Any time they heat something up for you, they use a microwave. How hard is it to buy a toastie press or to quickly grill something in this day and age? And in that location too? Honestly. Microwaved food sucks. Your food would be great if you just stopped using that microwave. Gross.

Almost French Pâtisserie, located in Richmond, is a charming spot that instantly transports you to the heart of France. As soon as you walk in, the alluring scent of freshly baked pastries sets the stage for a delightful culinary journey. The menu boasts an impressive array of classic French treats such as buttery croissants, delicate macarons, and exquisite eclairs, all meticulously crafted with skill and passion.
Almost French Patisserie on Swan Street is a 'no frills' French inspired bakery / Cafe. The shop itself is very plain so the pastries and breads have to do the heavy lifting. Thankfully that's exactly what occurs with delicious authentic pastries. Don't expect to be wowed with the service or decor. You can expect amazing pastries.

Love this community bakery/cafe! Totally sweet friendly service, love their version of the meat pie! Great place to rest up, have a cuppa and enjoy a quiet space.

Very kind considerate staff. Good food selections and the coffee is great. (Flat white)

I came across this small pastry shop on my way to the station. I ordered their apple & cinnamon danish and a cup of latte for breakfast. The pastry was tasty and buttery, but it was possibly made yesterday as it lacks the texture of a good danish pastry. Their coffee was good though.

Stopped in for a quick coffee, the service was a little slow, the cafe was nothing special. Service was ok, good coffee!! Unfortunately we didn’t get to try any dessert / food, it looked ok, some of the cakes looked very hard & dry, some looked good. Might try some food next time, but can honestly say they make a good coffee though ☕️👍🏾

Love them in Richmond and now a wonderful spot on Little Collins Street (ground floor of the Sheraton Hotel) with excellent food, great coffee, and warm, attentive service. Simply put, a delightful place to enjoy in the heart of Melbourne.

Milk Jamm is a delightful café that offers an array of delectable treats such as spanakota, baked goodies, sandwiches, and wraps. Their spanakota is particularly noteworthy and highly recommended if you're a fan. The quality of their food is impeccable and there's nothing to fault. Additionally, they serve exceptional coffee with friendly service that always comes with a smile. This place never fails to make you feel welcome and it's constantly bustling with customers.
Been to this place for breakfast over weekend and tried a Mediterranean Veg Toasted Panini, chicken 🍗 Schnitzel wrap and Spinach feta and all were quite awesome.

Pretty average accept the donuts were really nice. The service was probably the worst part, my husband and I both got pre made food but it still took awhile and they weren't flat out. When it was quite we went back up and ordered milk shakes and the donuts, that took a while as well and our milkshakes came out about 5 minutes after our dessert which as every cafe knows that people want their dessert with their drinks/coffees. Still left saying thank you as we walked past all the workers and not one said anything back. Wouldn't go back based on the service and the food not being something to go back for.

Great staff! For the past 6 months this was my regular spot for my morning coffee. Sue and the team are super friendly and personable, they remembered me and my order with in a couple visits. I recommend the cartocci ... YUM!

This place is great. Good value for money, plenty of good options, cool vibe, friendly staff. I came here for breakfast but the bakery portion is full of interesting premade food. You can't see everything in the photo but there is toast, mushrooms, sausage, bacon, tomato, eggs and spinach on the plate. Coffee was also good.

Only cafe close by that was open late Sat arvo in the rain. Ordered meals & the coffees & hot chocolate came in cardboard cups. When mentioning this the older lady remarked "it all tastes the same" The apple muffin was very dry even after sending it back to get heated. The lemon meringue donut was hard, meringue top just cracked and dropped off and it tasted very tangy. The toasted sandwich was very nice but looked like it had been in the glass cabinet a long time. Never again.

Would highly recommend this place Always I am made to feel welcome and their always busy .

As usual, I give a cafe several shots before I write a review to make sure my response is fair and consistent. Compared to other cafes around the area, this one falls within the lower ranks. The food is over-priced and nothing special at all - the food is generic and has an old, dry taste to it. The vibe is very limited; there's always space to sit, which is a plus, but this could be because the interior is relatively bland compared to others in the area. The staff are nice, although the atmosphere itself is noisy. If you're after a place to read a book or have an inspiring conversation with a colleague, this is not the place. It's great if you desperately need a morning caffeine boost (and its for take-away), but otherwise, I'd try one of the many alternatives in the area.
Adrian — Google review
Such a rude costumer service. I ordered banana bread for take away with butter and toasted. Without butter and toast it costs $4.5 or 5 but if you want toasted with butter, they charge you for $6.5. I told the lady(possibly the owner) who served me that it was $4.5 when I ordered the same thing but she showed me the eat in menu and even asked me if I wanna see the til to check the price. What an unprofessional attitude with not set price range. I will never go back again. If you want banana bread with butter and toasted take away, be aware to be charged $1.5. I’ve worked and been to many cafes in Melbourne but this was the first place ever to do something like this.

Ice cream shop
Fluffy Torpedo is an eccentric ice cream shop located on Smith Street in Fitzroy, featuring a quirky laboratory-like atmosphere and over 200kg of candies embedded in the floor. The ever-changing menu offers unconventional yet surprisingly delicious flavor combinations such as Vegemite and white chocolate, blue Powerade, pork butter and chilli oil, and Mountain Dew Oreo.
Another interesting find in Melbourne. Lots of different and interesting combinations of flavours. I wasn't feeling too adventurous and went for 2 scoops. Buttermilk pancake and maple syrup and Krispy creme. The flavours were on point, and i can still taste the pancake batter. Krispy creme was just like the Donught. Ice cream was really creamy and worth a try. Next time, I will ask for a taste and try something different.

Oh my god, this place is amazing. I taste-tested the Marshmallow + grape jelly (amazing), as well as the Tawny Port + Prunes + Butter. I wasn’t expecting to like the latter that much but it was amazing… So I got a 3 scoop cup with the tawny port, the chocolate mud cake, and the saffron + cardamom + condensed milk + rosewater. All were divine and I can’t stop thinking about wanting more 😂 Can’t wait to come back!

That's silly I found this place late one night. I went in we ordered buttermilk pancakes and marshmallow flavour. The marshmallow flavour was way too strong for me but the babe I was with loved it. On the other hand the understated subtlety of maturity of my own ice cream flavour - the buttermilk pancakes- was superb. If only everyone could appreciate and ice cream flavour like this. This place won't appeal to everyone, only the most sophisticated palates I suppose, but what a great addition to this suburb. I'm also really happy with the charity that they support which is the life you Can save. And I like that this place has a connection to Peter Singer.

Insanely good icecream with such cool flavours! I had salted custard and buttered baguette and they were both SO good! You’re allowed to taste the icecream too so can also recommend the orange and poppyseed cake batter and miso white chocolate!

Loved the gelato here! The flavors are so unique — I tried cinnamon and white chocolate, and they were all creamy, rich, and not too sweet. The shop is cute, cozy, and perfect for a quick treat. Definitely coming back for more!”
Jittima S — Google review
This place is extremely unique from their flavours to the aesthetic. Personally these flavours didnt suit what I liked but I completely understand why others would enjoy this place. The first second I walked in I immediately felt shocked by the smell. It smelt like vinegar and tablets from a pharmacy. The workers look scared me a bit considering their heavy makeup and depressed look. The IVE cream on the other hand has extremely unique flavours like Vegemite white chocolate and lettuce. We order a three scoop eith a green flavour mint chocolate and salter caramel with Oreo. The best flavour is my opinion was the salted caramel with Oreo. It is also advertised that 50% of the profits made goes towards a charity which is definitely the best part of the small business

This ice cream store has some of the wildest flavours out there and not too many of your generic vanilla, chocolate, etc. When we came around 730 pm many of the flavours already ran out and we ended up with lychee, lemon lime bitter sorbet. Nice combination of sweet, sour and a hint of bitter. Would highly recommend trying it once if you are into trying unique ice cream flavours. Food - 8 Service - 8 Vibe - 6 Price - $
Edwar K — Google review
A cute store with some very unique flavour combinations you won’t find anywhere else. They let you try before you buy too which is great. The ice cream was super creamy and the serving sizes were super generous too. Looking forward to trying some more of these weirdly wonderful creations.
