We had our anniversary dinner here and it did not disappoint. We both got the Butcher’s cut of the day which was the Wagyu Flank. Absolutely delicious. Keen on trying their burgers next time as those looked phenomenal too!

This spot always come out as recommended place for a late night meal. Came here on a Saturday and luckily wasn't packed. They serve a whole bunch of meat and the place is nice and vibey. We got the burger and the special of the day which was the french dip. The burger was decent, nothing special, but done right. The french dip is what I enjoyed. The meat was nice and tender and the jus gave it more depth. I enjoyed our meal here and would recommend for late night cravings. It's a bit pricey for the serving size tho.
Enjoyed the experience here. Coeliac safe gluten free options, as long as you don’t have any of the gf bread options. Very fresh tasty Greek salad, lovely chips, friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Generous portions for a very reasonable price. Recommend.
The place is quite basic and lacks ambiance. The food is simple—though I’ll highlight the pastrami sandwich, which was tasty. However, the steak & eggs were disappointing, especially for a meat-focused venue; the dish was underwhelming and poorly presented. For the same price, you can find better options elsewhere easily. It’s fine for a quick snack or casual bite with low expectations or for a meal after a big night out, as mentioned in most reviews.
Service is fast and friendly, but there are no restrooms—you need to use the pub next door. It’s clear most regulars are local workers grabbing a simple meal. I ended up here by chance and wouldn’t return or recommend it. At night, it turns into a bar with tapas until 1 a.m., but I’ll leave my comments there.
Tried this place with my boys on the way to the footy Friday night. Was easy to find a seat as we were early. Son had the steak sandwich and the rest of us had the cheeseburger with bacon. Both said was the best they had ever eaten. Chips were brilliant as well. Will definitely be back.

What a great diner, and what a great recommendation! This simple, clean and vibrant diner brings quick and efficient service, a great menu and fantastic food.
I had the simplest item on the menu, the hamburger (no risks taken here). It was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly, full of flavour and with an excellent bun. Every bite was a joy.
Mostly shred counter seating inside, but well suited to the venue. Plenty of outdoor dining on the picturesque’Paris’ end of Bourke St.

I came here late at night with my girlfriend, hoping for a late night snack. Each bite was incomparable. It was a million org*sms. It was a look into the future. It was like biting in the sun and a million golden rays comforting the world. It was only a cheeseburger and I will be dreaming about this for years to come. Godspeed.

Great Indian street food! We got a samosa chaat and butter chicken. The curry was not too sweet or greasy, and it came with a big serving of rice and naan. The samosa chaat was very filling and tasty.
Thoroughly enjoyed my food at this restaurant. I went with a friend and we ordered the Chaat platter and mix thali and loved everything. The food is bursting with flavour and the portion sizes were perfect. Only criticisms I have would be the presentation for the chaat platter felt a little overloaded, and the restaurant feels a little small so manoeuvring through felt a bit tricky at times

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Delhi Streets Indian in Melbourne, and it was such a great experience from start to finish. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly service that instantly made me feel comfortable. The staff were attentive without being over the top, and it was clear they genuinely cared about making sure everyone had a good time.
The atmosphere inside was really nice—relaxed, welcoming, and easy to enjoy whether you’re there with friends, family, or just grabbing a casual meal. It had a good vibe without feeling too formal, which made the whole evening even better.
The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was full of flavor, fresh, and cooked to perfection. You could really taste the quality in each bite. The spices were well-balanced and not too heavy, and the menu had a great variety so there’s definitely something for everyone, whether you like things mild or a bit spicier. Everything we ordered came out looking great and tasted even better.
What really stood out to me though was the service. The staff were not only friendly but also really helpful when it came to recommending dishes and making sure we were happy with everything. It’s that mix of good food and genuine customer service that makes a place memorable, and Delhi Streets nailed it.
Overall, I’d highly recommend Delhi Streets Indian. Between the excellent customer service, the tasty food, and the comfortable environment, it’s definitely a place I’ll be coming back to. If you’re looking for a spot in Melbourne with great Indian food and friendly staff, this is the one.

They are serving the authentic taste of Indian food. We ordered pav bhaji,dosa and thalis , everything was amazing. Food took bit time to arrive but wait was worth it. Definitely gonna visit again.

Let’s begin with the ambience. The restaurant is clean and well maintained albeit a bit cramped. The walls are decorated with retro style movie posters and the chairs got the common Indian brand name logos ranging from Maruthi cars to Hawkins pressure cooker. They have medium sized tables and also provide bar style seating.
Moving on to service, the staff is friendly and helpful. I sometimes like to throw in a “please select a dish for me” at the staff and I’m glad to report that I was happy with the choices made on my behalf. Also worth mentioning that they have a booking system in place, both online and over the phone, if suggest using the online portal as sometimes phone bookings could get messed up.
Coming to food, to keep it simple it’s delicious. We got samosa chats for entree and it was a blast. The potatoes were not mashed to oblivion and had a nice bite to it. Chole Bhature is definitely the star of the show when it comes to mains. The bread is fluffy and not too oily and the chickpeas cooked to perfection. Thali meals were not so bad either, but probably have had better, that’s not to say it was bad.
Definitely a good experience and worth coming back for.
Delicious! Plenty of coeliac friendly gluten free options! The staff were fab, fun atmosphere and the dosa was amazing! Only fault is there wasn’t much chicken in the butter chicken. Still recommend.

Soi 38 in Melbourne is a popular Thai restaurant located in the CBD. Known for its authentic and spicy flavors, it's a favorite among the city's Thai community. The restaurant offers a wide range of Bangkok street food, including green papaya salad, Thai-style ceviche, deep-fried pork intestines, noodle soups, zesty salads, pork belly, oysters and grilled skewers.
One of the best, cheapest lunches you will find in the CBD. $12 for a healthy serving of the most delicious laksa you will eat all week. Recommend coming a little early so you don’t have to wait for a table. Come here often, you won’t regret it.

Having a early lunch, order signature boat beef noodles, but there was some pork in my soup just wonder if it’s normal, taste still good, but what I have in Sydney city for $6 something would be no different. And then I order pork belly was very disappointed for the taste and tastier: it’s cold and hard no good deep fried pork skin smell, hard to chew, meat part are not tender and feel powdery should be thinner slice.
I went to this restaurant on Friday around 8 PM and waited about half an hour for a table. The food was amazing, tasting just like in Thailand. They even have authentic tuk-tuk decorations inside. The restaurant was quite busy with lots of customers and staff, but it added to the lively atmosphere. The restroom inside is very spacious. The menu is diverse, mostly focusing on Isaan dishes.
Food was very good but the Thai food scene in Melbourne is so good these days that it didn’t wow me as much as I hoped it would. But it was still good and worth another visit. I wished the prices were a bit better for the portion size though. Atmosphere is 10/10. I felt like I was in Thailand. Service is also really good and despite there usually being a line, it moves at a decent pace.

The food is EXCELLENT. Had the raw shrimp salad, fried intestines and ox tongue.
The shrimp was super fresh and the salad sauce was not fishy. Ox tongue is superlative! Grilled to tender perfection and went well with the flaked salt and crushed garlic condiments. Fried intestines were also crunchy and fresh.
Would definitely return if I go to Melbourne again.
I just LOVE this place so much. The food tastes so good and the service is really quick. I also liked the atmosphere because it had a tuktuk and street food stalls as their paying counter which I found was very creative. If you ever visit Melbourne CBD you should definitely try Soi 38!!
I ordered beef boat noodle. it was standard for me. My brother ordered tom yam noodle, he likes it. He came twice just to eat the same dishes. The beef ball was ok, the coffee was standard, I prefer Vietnamese one. Overall ok
A cool little place down the alley, has alot of potential but sadly the crispy pork and crying tiger were very dry and had no hint of moisture. The prawn entree was great though, plenty of flavour. Overall had potential to be good but didnt hit the mark. Have had alot better in the city.

Laksa King is a popular Malaysian restaurant with locations in Flemington and Glen Waverley, Melbourne. It's known for its spicy laksa, a traditional Malaysian noodle soup dish that's rich in coconut cream and spices. The restaurant also offers a variety of other Malaysian and Singaporean favorites such as Hainanese chicken rice and sambal seafood stir-fries.
We had the Laksa King fried rice which had pieces of roasted duck which was fragrant and tasty. Definitely has a good char off the "wok hei". The black bean beef was a good pair with the rice along with the five spice calamari (so tender and tasty). The Hainanese chicken rice was succulent and a lovely chilli dipping sauce. Of course a visit here would not be complete without an order of laksa. We had the fish fillet laksa which had a velvety laksa soup which was aromatic and delicious. Would definitely be back for more.

We came for a dinner on Sunday and it was very full, so had to wait around 30-40minutes. And the food arrived 15 mins after ordering.
We had the seafood laksa and cha kwe tiao - which both really impressed us! The laksa broth is thick and had great flavour. No wonder they’re called Laksa King!
Kwetiao had a good amount of wok hey, the rice noodle texture was great - we enjoyed everything!
We came back a few days later on weekdays lunch time. Arrived around 11.30am so was still quiet (before lunch rush). Food arrived under 10 minutes. We got the laksa again, and this time we also tried their Nasi Lemak (tender beef rendang, tasty coconut rice and pickles) - though the anchovy could have been crispier. Tofu vegetable stir fry was also delicious!
Stopped by Laksa King after a while and it’s still as flavourful as ever. The laksa had a nice, thicker broth — rich and satisfying. We also ordered the fish fillet noodle soup, which was comforting and well-balanced. Great to see that they can cater to dietary requirements too. We came in early when it was fairly quiet, but by the time we finished, the place was filling up fast — always a good sign.
We’ve been coming back as a family for years even after moving further away. Love the food! Service is so quick and efficient. Book your dinner at 5 pm to avoid the busier times. After 6 pm the crowd and waiting for a table might be too much for some. Vegetarian and combination Laksa are our family favourites. Plus roti if you have any room left.
Had been meaning to try this place out for at least 10 years and boy I’m so glad I did! There was a wait to get a table but worth every moment of waiting. Had the chicken laksa which was incredible, not too spicy but warm and delicious, the chicken was breast which I was happy about. Can’t wait to come back!

We arrived just before 12, did not wait for a table. Staff were lovely. Ordering opens at 12pm.
Got two of the lamb kebabs and the deep satisfaction. We all loved our meals. The lamb was just spicy and the tahini sauce is addictive.
The cauliflower is a whole other level altogether. It’s soft but mushy, salty and savoury and just to die for.
Highly recommend.

On Friday it was empty at 1130, packed at 1230, with a happy, noisy and energetic crowd.
Terrific menu, with great range of options. The pitta range is the go to, with amazing flavours and generous fillings.

I come here quite regularly as the food is always tasty, fresh and consistent in terms of flavour and quality. I usually get the Rotisserie Chicken Pita or Golden Fish Pita, and sometimes with a side of Mezze. Both the chicken and fish are very tasty, the chicken is a little bigger and heavier if you are hungry and the fish is really soft, well cooked, and filled with flavour. The bread here is awesome, really soft and perfectly flavoured. Service is very fast and the setup inside is simple but nice.
I was very positively surprised by the food quality.
As the restaurants in the hardware lane seem Super touristy I didn’t expect much.
But it was absolutely delicious, I ate way too much but feel comfortable and happy afterward.
Bella the waitress was so friendly and made us feel like old friends coming to the restaurant.
Atmosphere sitting outside is lovely and not noisy at all.

Shared the shawarma, baked eggplant and chickpeas, mezze and baked cauliflower last night. Probably the best meal I’ve eaten in Melbourne in a long time. Super healthy and filling. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection.
Staff were really attentive and friendly, even letting us split the bill which is a rarity these days. Highly recommend!

I've been enjoying multiple burritos here since arriving in Melbourne a few weeks ago. Now a regular - love this place! Excellent food and great place to watch the streets while listening to music. Just all around a great atmosphere at Trippy Taco.

Good place for Tacos. We didn’t realise this place is meat-free. Apart from that, the meals were great and flavorsome. The let down was the wine which was pretty acidic for my liking.

Fries were delicious but the tacos were honestly lack lustre and service took forever. Not the best in the area but not bad at all. Considering it’s a vegetarian joint with vegan options and had a very convenient location with great decor, I can see why people would visit often. (Bit pricey for what it is to be very honest)

All their menu are made fresh and can’t also be bought in their main store here. We ordered the Zaatar with veggies and cheese pie. Truthfully, nothing on the menu is bad. Prices are very reasonable and the taste is amazing.

We had a hankering for some middle eastern food and decided to pop into A1 on our way home. We arrived during the lunch rush but only had to wait about 5 mins for a table.
Once we sat down we made our way to the counter to place our order.
Our food was ready and was brought to the table in a timely manner. Things were a little tight with the trays but we managed to get all the food on. We all really enjoyed our food everything was cooked very well and tasted great. Before we left we went to the back and grabbed some spices, they have a nice variety of things if you're interested in some home cooking.
Definitely give them a try if you've never been.

A popular Lebanese bakery, visited for breakfast and lunch. It's easy to dine during the earlier hours but lunch was very busy especially if you wanted to get a table to dine-in. I had their A1 Special for breakfast which was really filling and delicious! In the afternoon, I ordered something smaller - a custard triangle.
Would love to come back and have their other meals like the platters. They would definitely be worth trying. It's like a three in one setup here. They have a cafe section, kitchen for the food and a grocery store. Thanks for the meal A1 Bakery.

A1 Bakery Sydney Road, Melbourne is an absolute gem! Always buzzing with life and filled with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread and Lebanese pastries. Their zataar pizza, cheese pie, and falafel wraps are always fresh and full of authentic flavour. The staff are friendly, quick, and welcoming, even during busy hours.
I love how the place maintains a warm, community vibe — perfect for a quick bite, coffee with friends, or takeaway. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Definitely one of Melbourne’s must-visit spots for anyone who loves Middle Eastern bakery food.
This local favourite Lebanese bakery truly lived up to its name! It’s a popular spot among the locals.
We tried the Zaatar and Kibbie platter, and it was delicious. The Zaatar is nicely toasted with mixed herbs and pairs well with hummus or eat it plain. There’s also a confectionery section selling some dry goods and frozen items.
I stopped by today to pick up the new gluten free zataar manoush and cheese pie collaboration with Senza.
They come frozen so I took it home to bake. They were absolutely delicious. Perfectly soft flexible dough, great flavour. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I asked if they were sold hot in store but they said no. I am thinking it may be too hard to control cross contact.

We went here for the first time since it’s always crowded and thought we’d finally give it a try. We usually go to another place for falafel, but it was closed that day.
I ordered the lamb hummus with pita and my husband ordered the falafel. The lamb hummus was really good — the flavour was rich and satisfying. However, the falafel was disappointing and didn’t taste homemade. The pita also seemed store-bought, which was surprising for a Lebanese bakery.
Overall, the lamb with hummus was the highlight, but I expected more authenticity in the falafel and pita. A decent experience, but not sure I’d go back.
He place is quite busy and buzzing! You have to queue for a bit of you want to eat here. Otherwise, takeaway is your best bet.

Cute little place in CBD with an open kitchen, you can see them making the pastries fresh from the street window. Good value for tasty Borek + a decent coffee for only $8.50 (top up for plant milk), they have other lunch sets too. Great pit stop for lunch, gets pretty busy. Friendly service
Goz City pumps out gozleme like a well oiled machine. Its an impressive process to watch through the front window while you wait gor your order. The cheese and spinach gozleme is great. It's nice and crispy on the outside and packed with flavour in the middle. It also comes with a decent dollop of yoghurt, which hekps to freshen up the palate. I'll definitely be heading back soon to try out some of the other pastry delights on offer.
What a great find :-) Out trying to find a hot breakfast but different to your typical carb loaded ham and cheese croissant - I have drifted off my Anti Carb stance lately and it needs to come back. Saw this place - I love a good Borek, Goz or Pide and their bargain Breaky - Mince Borek with a double shot espresso was the go for me. Great flavour in the Borek - clearly made with Love, lots of protein without lots of carbs AND the coffee was Awesome. Will defo be back - keep up the great work Team Goz City.
Nice little place for a quick bite. Not a long wait even though there were quite a few people waiting, however very limited seating indoors and just 7-2 person tables. I'm not a big fan of places where you order your food and then go get a seat like you are at a food court. When you are with someone, one person can go look for a table while the other can wait for your food. Probably a great place for people working nearby to pickup a quick bite, I know I would, but not a great place for a group of 4 or more especially since the tables are quite small. I probably wouldn't come here if it were raining as they only have 2 indoor tables.
Had a gozelem of spinach and cheese, was very nice. Cost 15 dollars though, which I found a bit expensive, although portion was large. There are other places close by that are cheaper. But regarding the gozelem itself it was tasty but overpriced for what it is.
Delicious gozleme is. I had the mincemeat and my partner had the mushroom and veg. Both delicious. Crispy, not too greasy and served in the appropriate time that you know it’s not just reheated. Walked away with dessert, Turkish delight and Bounty Bar.

A popular street food in Turkey, I can't say I've had enough gozleme. However, after scouring the internet for the ideal 'gozleme' and compared to my experience, I've landed on 4 stars.
Why Goz City wasn't 5 stars for me:
1. The flatbread was not crispy. Perhaps the gozlemes were in its carton for too long during the travel time, but it was definitely floppy when it was being consumed. Although I do understand that the staff at Goz City are under the pump during lunch hours, we did arrive before the lunch rush.
2. Align the prices across ubereats / online menu. The prices we saw on differences sources wasn't the price we ended up paying when we ordered from the physical store. It ended up somewhere in the middle.
Things I liked about Goz City:
1. It was filling. It's a simple meal, but with so much dough it really expands in your stomach and keeps going. Extremely satisfying for a work lunch!
2. Got some sides like yoghurt, lemon juice (to add freshness and a bit of tanginess), chilli powder and chilli sauce. Gives it an opportunity for a spicy moment with every bite!
They were packed neatly into little circular cartons. It was perfectly sized to throw at my colleagues, avoiding any cross contamination during food time.
3. Really affordable. Anything below $20 during lunch time is a steal, especially when it's able to send you into a food coma afterwards.

We ordered pineapple fried rice and basil chicken. The food was pretty good but with minor disappointment with one piece of uncooked chicken in fried rice. The manager came and apologised with the incident by giving us voucher for dine in second time.
We went back for second time with the voucher and the dinner was delicious. The manager has given us the free sticky mango rice too.
I would say the service is really professional and excellent.
We had the pad thai which was the best one I’ve ever had. Very saucy with a nice tang from the lemon. The creamy tomyum soup with prawns was very flavourful. Lots of spices and prawns and the soup was very creamy and tangy. It’s best to share the soup as it could be too much for one person. Tip: add rice or noodles as the soup can be a bit too salty by itself.

But I feel like this place needs more innovation to keep up with the new Thai restaurants in the CBD. Restaurant in the underground. Have robots to deliver food to your table. Many tables so you can go alone or in large groups. Prices are not too high. Portions are average.

Don’t be fooled, Moroccan Soup Bar serves many many dishes (not just soup). In saying that, they do serve Harira, a beautiful North African soup. Harira is one of the best dishes I had in Morocco and it was delicious here!!
You can get items on the menu takeaway here (would highly recommend the chickpea bake, so crispy and delicious and from only $12), but when you dine in it works as a banquet menu for $48 pp. You get 3 courses with MANY dishes each course, to the point that all 4 of us got a container stacked full of food to have for lunch the next day.
Would highlyyyyyyyy recommend coming here for some beautiful Moroccan food!

I cannot speak highly enough about this place. Firstly, the food is incredible, I was so busy stuffing my face I didn't get enough photos, they do not do it justice at all. But secondly these are the most beautiful humans. I am currently in hospital and my husband went to get food from here for us to have something different. The beautiful woman at the counter checked my dietaries with me over the phone and then proceeded to put the most delicious feast together AND WOULDNT LET MY HUSBAND PAY. I cannot handle how absolutely grateful we were. These humans are incredible. Needless to say we'll spend a fortune here another time!

Our family of four went for dinner and given the kids are young, the lady suggested we order 3 banquets. Honestly it was a great idea, she still served us 4 of the individual items and there was so much food. We loved every bite of the entree, we found the couscous in the main dish little strong for our taste but loved the rest. The dessert was delicious and as mentioned even though we ordered 3 banquets, we were served 4 items. We are completely satisfied and would happily be back for more. The service was excellent.

This is by far one of the finest places to be, for everyone, right from the spiritual atmosphere to loving staff, you feel right at home. And I have been coming here since the past 3 years, so it’s like a second home to me. They provide unlimited meals with concessions for students and seniors, and standard charges for everyone else: the best part is that you have a new meal everyday, vegan& vegetarian. Very palatable, and suitable for most people - the curry was very mild but still flavourful enough to be enjoyable. The staff were very lovely. Came here during lunch on a Monday, there was a line waiting for their orders. The falafels are made fresh and fried in small batches and done in front of their shopfront window. Their falafels are tasty and clearly different to the Lebanese version of falafels, perhaps it’s the use of greens that sets it apart. Their dips are also on point, it’s a delicious and healthy lunch to dine in on.
Been coming here for many years now. Food, ambience and service are always superb. Happy to travel for an hour just to have a meal at Half Moon Cafe. Half Moon Falafel Wrap is the best I have ever had. I love extra hot chilli on my food and they are always happy to accommodate. Highly recommend.

Honestly the best felafel i have had in several years hands down. I actually made a point of going back inside and telling them this! I got the full moon and it was incredibly perfect. I didnt want it to end. And when it did i contemplated on getting another. And the price was very reasonable as well, in fact cheaper than most other felafel places but 20 times better in quality.

Had a wonderful meal at Mr Ramen San. Located in an arcade off Little Bourke Street, is an authentic Japanese ramen place. We had the gyoza which was perfectly cooked with a bit of crunch. The spicy ramen broth was thick and flavorful, not too salty, not oily, didn’t burn your mouth but warmed your stomach. They offer free extra noodle portions 1/2 or full serve. My husband had the Katsu Don and he was impressed with the thickness of the pork and the flavor of the sauce. Definitely will come back again

Ramen San in Melbourne CBD is a popular spot for Japanese ramen 🇯🇵🍜. It’s usually packed, but we came just as they opened for lunch, which was perfect — no wait and not many customers.
We ordered:
🍜 Charsu Ramen $18.90 – roast pork, spring onion, wood ear mushroom, seaweed, and seasoned egg. A classic bowl with a creamy broth and generous toppings.
🌶️ Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen – pork broth with chili seasoning, but surprisingly mild in heat. Still rich, flavorful, and topped with seaweed, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, spring onion, and seasoned egg.
🥟 Pork Gyoza (5 pcs) $8.50 – pan-fried dumplings with a crisp base and juicy pork filling, a nice side dish.
Everything came out hot with generous toppings and nicely presented bowls. Overall, we’d rate the taste ⭐4/5. The price is a little on the high side, but fairly standard for Melbourne CBD Ramen.

I ordered the beef ramen with shoyu broth and it was amazing – the meat was super tender and the broth was full of flavor. We also had the gyozas, which were nice and crispy, and the edamame, perfectly salty and delicious. I’d definitely recommend this place! There was a queue, but it moved quickly.

This place is always packed because of how good and cheap the food is. Service is really fast. The udon is fresh and the broth is delicious. You can also get add ons like chicken karaage and all sorts of other fried stuff. The curry udon is also pretty good. It feels like you're tranported back to Japan.

I had the hot udon with egg. I think the egg could've been done a lot better like onsen egg. Flavour wise it was good texture was good too. My mates cold udon did feel a little under cooked.
They defs make it in house as you could see machinery. The fried food also wasn't too flash either. Don't forget the condiment station either after collecting food.

Always consistent banh mi and the chicken is spiced right, always. They use Vietnamese chilli which I quite like than fresh chilli. Extensive drinks selection and if you're lucky, you get yesterday's bread loaf for $1.50! I went with the fried egg option, and it was absolutely perfect. The roll was freshly baked with just the right crunch, and the owner cooked the eggs to perfection right in front of me.
I also tried their Vietnamese coffee—rich, authentic, and incredibly delicious.
Always consistent with their rolls! I prefer the N.Lee crust on the baguette. Can reccomend the grilled pork bahn mi with an ice coffee.

DJ was the best. They were full of energy and did their best, a combination of old and new music. Also, you can go upstairs, with different spaces. The security guys were aware of their surroundings. I love the terrace and the giraffe on the back of the terrace's wall. I reckon, it is the best free entrance bar. I haven't tried the food here, so I have no ideas about it. Whether you’re looking for an intimate meal, a relaxing drink, or a late night party, you should check this place out - it’s brilliant! The decor is cosy and romantic, with dim lighting and plenty of red, surrounding the taxidermy and large giraffe coming from the walls! It certainly gives plenty to admire while sat in one of the booths or many standard tables around the bar. All the staff are really friendly and even when it’s busy service for drinks is quick.
I decided to check out the restaurant in the evening and was very impressed. There’s not many tables which allows the staff to be super attentive. With the portion sizes it was also really good value - the garlic prawn starter was served sizzling hot and had so many prawns, and the barramundi main was huge, with so many chips! There certainly wasn’t a need for desert here! Everything was super tasty too and even the wine options were reasonable.
As a late night club it remains a really enjoyable venue - great music with the DJ, fast bar service with good prices and open into the very early hours. It was one of my favourite spots in the city centre and I will be returning again.
A place to party or to just sit and chill in the rooftop. It has accommodation for different age groups.
I did enjoy sitting at the lower patio and swaying to the music. If you want to dance then do walk towards the dance floor for some jiggy!
I do think they should have more restrooms instead of the current tiny ones.
Great bar and great food here as well - we came on a Wednesday night and got the steak special for $25 which came with a glass of wine and chips/salad on the side.
The steak was quite juicy, and the chips were well seasoned . We also needed to head somewhere quickly afterwards so we asked for the food to be ready quite quickly, and the staff lived up to that promise. They were all very friendly and the atmosphere of the place was lovely with the whole jungle theme going on.

The DJs here were fantastic!! Good mixture of 90s to the latest trends. We had a blast here at the Carlton for a good 2 hours. The drinks are great but the service is ok. Maybe it’s because it was Saturday night, they were packed!!! Hope next visit will be better.

I’ve been coming to CC for years and have always had a pretty good time, tonight was absolutely appalling. My friend and I, and others witnessed an incredibly intoxicated bunch of people engage in sex acts and violence, from choking, hair pulling, slapping to sex. When we told the guard he went over to them and pat the bloke on the back and laughed. Unacceptable.
This place is a multi tier bar/club with 2 dance floors. We came looking for drinks and to dance and have fun. The place waxxed and waned in crowd size ranging from packed to confusingly thin between 12AM and 3AM. The bar tenders are friendly and gave quick all be it very inconsistent service and drinks. The outside specialty drinks were good and the mixologist was nice but bring a book for the 35 mins each drink takes to make. Both DJs were playing great fun danceable music but the dance floors are tiny the lower level is maybe 2 Meters by 3 meters the 2nd floor is maybe 3 meters by 3 meters. There was plenty of seating and we found spots to rest drink our drinks or even just dance in the areas lest crowded like at the tables. The outside bar had heaters but the seats were all taken and it was too cold not to be under a heater. the roof was closed probably because it was so cold.

Simply put this place is nothing wildly special but the bathrooms were clean, the drinks flowed and the beats were solid. Very causal good time. The vibe was generally positive and overall felt like a safe environment. We had fun.

this place is such a vegan staple in melbourne. been coming here for about 10 years, and i still get excited to visit every time. this location is great and the space is quite big, but it does get very busy on weekends. i love their decadent drinks (like the s'mores hot choc!) and their sandwiches are incredible. they are huge portions so be warned you will walk out very very full. the deli selection is great too with lots of fake meats, cheese, etc. definitely visit if you haven't, vegan or not!

We’ve been here twice now on Sunday Collingwood walks, street art and coffee hopping, and each time we ended up here — and for good reason.
The space nails the Melbourne vibe: natural light, cool art on the walls, uplifting music, high tables, shared tables, take-away counter, even boutique wines in the fridge. You can pick meals straight from the glass window, grab vegan cheeses, take-home dishes, bar snacks, and more.
The menu is fully vegan but so tasty you could bring non-vegan friends and they’d never miss a thing. We’ve had the frittata, pumpkin pie, and vegan duck leg — all amazing. The desserts are next level: vanilla custard slice, chocolate croissants, donuts, caramel popcorn, baked cheesecake, and that red velvet with cream… unforgettable.
This is everything you want in a Collingwood/Fitzroy café: fun, funky, foodie, and not to be missed.
Sandwiches are generous and so flavorful. I had the shnits creek and it was really good, I’d get it again but keen to try all the other fillings. Coffee was very good and the cardamom doughnut was so good, the texture needs to be tried to be believed, so soft, and cardamom flavor is very very subtle, which was lovely. The standard of food is very high consistently. Lots of seating and parking on a Saturday wasn’t too bad.

This place is always rocking and I've never had a bad experience! Went with a friend over the weekend - we lined up around 11:45am and they'd already sold out of quite a few options. Hey, when you're that popular, it's a good problem to have!
We ordered two different sandwiches, but after we'd ordered, one sold out, so we ended up with two of the same. No complaints though - the flavours were absolutely delicious!
This place is like a plant-based eater's dream: pastries, sangas, brekkie, plus deli-style condiments you can take home. It's really a great experience and feels so Melbourne.
It gets pretty busy so there's not always a seat available straight away, but with the flow of people coming and going, space opens up pretty quick.

Baguettes are large, fresh and cheap. I had the Peri Peri Chicken on this occasion, make sure you get it toasted for that extra crunch. Staff are wonderful. Highly recommended, can get busy with a queue due to the corporate crowd.
Wow never realised this place existed until a friend recommended it. Truly great value! I paid only $8 for a chicken schnitzel baguette. Got it toasted and didn’t have to wait a very long time even though it was very busy at lunch.

This is a small place that closes at 4 PM on weekdays and does not open on weekends. So for someone like me who doesn't work in the city having a Baguette from here was a rare occasion. But whenever I do, I get a baguette from here, I enjoy it thoroughly.
The size of the baguettes is huge. They have 2 sizes, a big one and a really big one costing $5 and $7 resp. I love the chicken schnitzel Baguette from here which has a lot of chicken in it and tastes good. They sell quite a lot of baguettes everyday so you can expect them to be made fresh everyday. I have recommended this place to many of my friends who have enjoyed the baguettes from here. This place is great value for money.

Been here a few times and its a decent place to eat as they have a variety of baguettes at affordable prices. The reason for 2 star review is because of the roast chicken and avocado baguette that i purchased today. Not only was the food dry and not saucy, but the way it is made is very decieving... almost thought i bought this from 7/11 the way they have marketted and sold this.

Let us start with what is good/great. Service & atmosphere were great. I ordered a falafel plate.
Portion size was good, if they ask you if you want extra chili say no, not worth the extra. Liked all the dips & sauces added onto my plate.
Unfortunately, for a place that is supposed to be just about Falafel’s, the Falafel were quite disappointing. They were crispy & a bit over fried on the outside but were completely moist & raw inside. If the temp of the oil is not right, the outside will be crispy & insides will stay raw.
There are a lot of other interesting options on their menu. Probably not my fav falafel but I’ll def go back and try other items on the menu & update this post.

Warm and welcoming. Made me consider changing from unimelb to rmit. Australian Chinese hospitality is fantastic. No fear of ordering warm swee corn porridge with whipped egg drop accidentally. Service was happy and quick. Food was spicy and clean. Penny pinchers take no protein, whilst junkies will get away with a less than twenty dollar meal. Peanut, scallion, chilli, tender noodle, soup is their signature. Table served.

I was here the other day with my friend and we had a great time!
The staff were incredibly welcoming and the place had a lively, buzzing atmosphere. We sat in the courtyard, which was cool and a little more spacious than the inside, which we liked. Just a nice affordable place for homely pasta. The dishes are nothing to scream about but solid tasting. They have 9 dollar pasta but almost everyone in my group went for the 16-17 dollars dishes. The portion size is good too. I got the creamy walnut pasta, it had good amount of walnuts but lacked in salt and seasoning. If you want something flavourful, go for other options. The ordering menu online is also kinda a clunky. Hope they improve soon. The staffs are great. It remains a popular place for gathering as well

This is such a cute spot and I wish I could gatekeep it but it was so good 😭😭 a friend and I came here after she had mentioned we should go here for dinner, and I was more than pleasantly surprised. The portions were huge for the prices, and all the food was so insanely good. I think about the garlic bread every day and I wish I could remake it, but I think I’ll just have to come back instead. We also got a bottle of wine, a really nice - super light - pinot Grigio. Can’t wait until I have the chance to come back here again.

😮 Good Times in Fitzroy North has incredible pricing. A full blown 3 course meal for a very affordable $29pp.
🌟 The cheese board was great, with a great combination of soft and hard cheese on pepper crackers. Great to munch on as we wait for the mains.
Garlic bread was solid and felt more like a toastie/panini situation.
⬆ One pasta (funghi) was definitely better than the other (creamy walnut). The funghi had this heat that I liked, and the abundance of mushrooms just made me happy.
⬇ On the other hand, creamy walnut felt gritty and harder to consume - especially in the bulk portion it was in.
✖ As my friend aptly described, it feels more like 'fast food pasta' when it came to the quality. Both seemed slightly undercooked as well.
Service was incredibly busy. They won't proactively check in on you, but will be available when you catch their eye!
Their QR code didn't appear to list all the pastas available, so I ended up ordering at the cashier to get that funghi pasta.
Bookings highly encouraged here, they are PACKED. Atmosphere was a constant vibe with people coming in and out, while drawing on butcher paper was so fun!! 🖌

The Dry Noodle with Stir-Fried Tomato and Egg was simple but an excellent choice, hitting hard especially when adding some chilli powder and a chicken skewer or two to the mix. And the Beef & Green Pepper Burger surprised me for being super flaky, and stuffed with juicy beef and green pepper for a spicy kick. It’s bold, it’s messy, and it works!
The place is super busy though, don't be surprised if you feel you're eating on top of someone else. And not a fan of all the different surcharges including $1 for takeaway.

Usually always a small wait but worth the short wait as the line/queue is fast moving! Best halal tasting winter comfort food! Love the taste of the braised lamb flap noodle soup is always the most flavourful and delicious here from among all the bowltiful locations having tried all of them! The hot and spicy beef noodle soup and the special stir fried noodles even the special vegetarian stir fried noodles are so flavourful without being overpowering! Clear beef soup is good too if wanting something light. We’ve tried the kebab skewers are beautiful too! We like the pickles or meat on the side. The burger and buns are ok.

Came on a friend's recommendation, and ran into some Singaporean friends who eat here so I guess that's a good sign.
We had a booking for our group of 7 but our table was partially occupied when we arrived. Another group finished while we were waiting so ended up moving to that table instead.
Food wise we had a family set plus extra rice, chicken wings, and greens to share. I found the flavours to be decent without being particularly outstanding, with the chicken broth on the side perhaps the best element. Overall good enough to consider for a return if I'm passing this way again.
Juicy chicken, savoury sauce and the rice is really fragrant! Even tastes amazing after delivery. The roast pork is also very light and crispy. Love their consistency and portion. I always come back to Gai Wong for my chicken rice craving.

I’ve heard about this restaurant before so I had high expectations for their Hainanese chicken. However, they served the Hainanese chicken cold, which was quite unusual. It would be better if they served the chicken hot. The portion of the chicken was a bit small, but it was soft and tender.
The star of the meal was the chicken soup, which was surprisingly rich and flavourful. I could tell that they used great ingredients to bring out the nature umami taste of the chicken.
The rice noodle soup (Gai See Hor Fun) was mediocre, I was not a huge fan of it. The broth lacked depth of flavours.

Servings were quite small, and honestly for the lack of flavour it didn’t feel good value for money. Definitely have had better hainanese chicken elsewhere, especially considering this is their specialty. A bit disappointing, seems to only be popular due to hype.

Nice place serving Sri Lankan/Indian cuisine. I was expecting to see string hoppers but didn’t. No complaints about the food. You pay for the buffet, collect a plate, serve yourself and take extra helpings. I like the fact that they encourage you to use one plate and not use up multiple plates.
The atmosphere was busy and buzzing for a Thursday evening. The beers were all right but the Lion beer was a let down. It just didn’t hit the high spots but that’s just me :)

Food is so so, 30aud buffet on weekend for around 10 choices of curry dishes and vegan dishes, which is reasonable. No air ventilation inside, your clothes will have food smell on it.

Favourites were the goat and beef curry. Condiments were the green, sambar and coconut. Image shows the favourites.
Other dishes were ok except for:
Deviled fish was a little sweet. Curry chicken was a bit dry and bland. Beetroot colour was a bit too muddy for me. Lime condiment was much too sour for me.
Tried the Sri Lankan lunch buffet at Citrus in Fitzroy and absolutely loved it! The food was full of flavour and such great value for money. The staff were friendly and made the experience even better. A perfect spot if you’re craving authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. Will definitely be back!
Came here with friends for dinner. Great ambience, very busy night. All you can eat buffet at $25 is great value. Good spread of food, wholesome and so delicious! Staff were always topping up the food so there’s always plenty for all. Friendly staff, happy customers, lovely vibes. Just wished we had bigger tummies to eat more!

Amazing Japanese Cuisine in Brunswick
This is hands down my favorite Japanese restaurant in Melbourne. The fish is always incredibly fresh, the quality is outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable.
Their salmon dishes are a must-try, especially the sushi and donburi – perfectly cooked and seasoned. The balance of flavors is just right, and the presentation makes it even more enjoyable.
The staffs are friendly, and the ambiance is cozy and welcoming. It's a great spot for casual meals.

$25 for a chirashi bowl of this quality is unmatched! It was simple perfection. The sashimi, rice and tamago complement each other very well. Also, great texture to all the seafood, you can tell how fresh all the ingredients are. I should have visited earlier 😭. It was a wonderful experience. Would 100% be back before closing.
After I paid, I noticed that before serving, the sushi was left out in the open. Several flies 🪰 landed on the seafood multiple times！

A small great Japanese sushi outlet hidden inside a soon-to-be-demolished mall. Had the salmon miso onigiri which was nice but too salty for my taste, as well as the salmon and tuna maki which were superb and fresh. Will pop by again to try out more hearty dishes when I'm next around the area.
Update 07/06: Tried their miso soup, chirashi bowl & otoro. Bowl was great, big serve and they dont skimp on the fish, miso soup was hearty but could be a bit more "miso-y", otoro was delicious.
Sushi place in a seem abandoned shopping mall in Brunswick. Heard it is a busy place but went at around 12 on weekday only one person was in front of me. Male staff was busy taking orders while providing emotional support for that one customer. Which is fine but please stop talking while bringing out customer's food. I ordered the sushi of the day. Good presentation and given an introduction of what they are. Sushi tastes good and ingredients are fresh. However the portion is small compared to the price they changed. The slices are thin and when dipped with soy sauce you basically can't taste any flavour of that seafood anymore. If I were to spend $45 for lunch again I would go somewhere else. Even in Tokyo city you can get these double the size and half the price.
One of the tastiest sushi joints in Melbourne. After coming back from Japan. I can say the quality and taste is comparable. The place is run by actual Japanese.
Everything is simple, but done to a high level. Onigiri is delicious, good to combine it into Miso soup in the end. If you’re after a fancy looking place, this is not it. This is a simple, humble, but extremely tasty joint unassumingly tucked away just off the main road. Very Japanese.
A lot of people recommended this place as having the best sushi in town, so I had to try it out while visiting the local area. It's located in the middle of an arcade, making it a bit hard to find from the road. I tried their all-in platter to make sure I didn't miss anything, and I also added uni, otoro, and Hokkaido uni. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, with just the right amount of rice, and the price was reasonable. Definitely worth a visit!

Heaps of eateries but have a walk around before choosing as there’s a big difference in price… a humble pie could cost you $17, or if you look around you’ll find a better deal for as little as $7. It’s a great spot with loads of souvenirs and a few copies as well. The tram stops directly out the front so it’s a convenient place to get to.

I always look forward in visiting this place every time we're in the city! I love the Victoria market for its fresh fruits, seafoods, coffee. They also have different restaurant inside and at the back.
I also bought shirts here for my nieces. They have markets for random stuffs.
My most favourite area is the seafood place where all fresh seafood is in display. The prices of the oysters here is a bargain and it is very fresh.

It was my first time in Melbourne, and my husband was keen to take me to the Queen Victoria Market. From 6 in the morning until 12:30, we spent the whole day exploring the market. I was absolutely thrilled by the seafood section and amazed by the incredible variety at the cheese market. The whole experience was simply amazing!
As a tourist, i find this place facinating and unique. The old design in some part of the market is really amazing, not to mention their products too... Cold cuts, cheese, coffee, breads all looks inviting. Their fresh products also amazing. And in the clothing & souvenirs section... Heaven!!!

We had a fantastic experience at Mamasita, Carla our server was so fun and friendly and really made our experience there! The food was delicious even though we were mainly there to try the drinks, we shared some delicious guac and corn. Carla's knowledge on drinks was awesome and got us trying a few new things. I had delicious spicy margaritas and can recommend the mezcal version! I would highly recommend Mamasita to anyone looking for a great Mexican and South American cuisine experience and I would come back here again in a heartbeat. Walking up the candlelit staircase into Mamasita, my excitement instantly grew. The restaurant is beautifully designed—moody lighting, checkered floors, and a stunning bar that’s a real centrepiece. Every detail of the design felt intentional and set the scene for a great night out.
The space was absolutely buzzing for a Thursday night, and I was so glad I’d booked ahead. Service was a little hard to catch at times with how busy it was, but once our order was in, everything came out quickly.
We started with the Mamasita and Papacito margaritas—hands down some of the best margaritas I’ve ever had, full of unique and refreshing flavours. Then came the food: Elote, Overnight Black Beer Brisket & Pork Belly Chicharron tacos, Lime-Cured Snapper Ceviche, and the Lamb Birria. Every single dish was absolutely delicious and the presentation was outstanding. Everything looked as good as it tasted, and I was seriously impressed.
A little tip for diners: be prepared for things to get messy, the taco tortillas do fall apart easily. And if you’re ordering the Lamb Birria (which you should), don’t make the same mistake we did—be sure to get a side of extra tortillas. They’re essential for soaking up all those rich, juicy flavours.
The only downside was the noise level—the acoustics made it hard to hear the person across from me. If that were improved, it would take the dining experience to the next level.
All in all, Mamasita delivered on incredible food, cocktails, and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back for another round of tacos and margaritas!

Fancy tex-Méx but good drinks. The place looks amazing and has a great atmosphere but the food left us feeling a little unsatisfied. The presentation is amazing but the flavours weren’t very authentic. We ordered a range of dishes from the menu but the flavours were lacking like they made it less spicy and used weaker seasoning. Still a very nice bar and restaurant if you’re wanting to go out for a celebration! This place is very busy so you will need to book a reservation in advance.
Absolute vibe for date night - we revisited last weekend and after 13 years from our first date - it’s still an amazing place to sit, stay and feel like a part of the family. Book ahead to avoid disappointment, they do have walk ins however you might have to wait and be called back. The sad thing is no one wants to leave so you might be waiting a while. For good reason - Service was top notch friendly and attentive. Cocktails were refreshing. Food was tasty delicious and by far THE CORN was the best thing since sliced bread. Cannot be beat!!! Highly, highly recommend.
Oh and we went with the special cheesecake for dessert 🍮 the (2nd) MOST amazing thing to eat that night!

To celebrate my daughter’s university graduation, this was her restaurant of choice and it didn’t disappoint. The decor is charming, paying tribute to the history of the owners over the years, which adds a lovely personal touch to the dining experience.
We started with the garlic focaccia topped with mozzarella, a delicious way to take the edge off our appetite. For mains, we shared the wagyu beef penne and the spaghetti Bolognese. Both dishes were hearty, flavourful, and perfectly portioned for three to share.
The food is wholesome and satisfying, though a little on the pricey side at $78 for two mains and one starter. That said, it seems to reflect the standard cost of dining out these days.

I went with my friend last week, the food was delicious and was really quick to get in the table but the customer service is horrible. While we were waiting for a table, the girl that assisted us til the waiter that took our orders they were super rude. They were waiting for us to leave but they don’t even tell u the time closing, just picked up the things from the table while we were eating, not even one smile (or a fake one)
Such a shame, the place looks really nice from outside but with this bad experience i dont recommend it.
A busy and animated place in the heart of Lygon Street.
Serving sizes were MASSIVE and very generous. The food was okay, drenched in sauces and cheese, I would say it was a little rich.
The eggplant parma was tasty and the tomato sauce had a nice sweetness to it. The osso bucco was falling off the bone and very tender. The veggies on both dishes were a little dry and was a little sad in comparison to the main dishes.
Overall a positive experience, friendly staff and prompt service. Would be interested to see how it compares to other Italian restaurants in the area.
3 of us went to Tiamo in Lygon St Melbourne last night ( Wed ) for my daughters birthday dinner, we sat outside which was lovely and as it was abit cold but they had plenty of heating to keep everyone comfortable. The food and drinks menu was extensive, and suprised at the reasonable pricing, so we wanted to try abit of everything as we couldn't make up our minds. Although service was abit slow as it was super busy, but the staff were very knowledgeable on meals and wines. We finally ordered which was Lamb Cutlets which you get 3 Cutlets, we got the 3 Meat Ragu and also the Veal Saltimbocca, plus had the Garlic Foccacia as a starter. The meals were all amazing, packed with flavour and all very good serving sizes too and we paired it all off with a couple of bottles of Montepulgiano D' Abruzzo and we finished off the evening with Limoncello's. Honestly this was all traditional Italian which we love so much, it was perfect. Parking was abit of an issue, but typical of Lygon St, so we had to walk a couple of blocks to get to the Resturant, alternatively there was some closer multi story carparking areas, but unsure of pricing. All in all was a top night and would definitely go back again and recommend to everyone

We visited on Sunday for dinner. We ordered lasagna, it came out cold, we politely asked to heat up more, still came out cold. Staffs were not interested, they were standing around talking, no apologies for serving cold food twice, had to ask for ice twice.
Met up with a work friend here, they booked a table for three. The place is very Italian, they have indoor and heated outdoor dining area. The staff are very courteous and the place looks wel organised. I ordered their mushroom pizza and I could almost cry - I would say it is to date the best pizza I have ever had in my life, it was wonderful and the chefs should be very proud! It was so delicious I thought of it for days. Unfortunately we only stayed in Melbourne for 4 nights, so when I visit, I will definitely eat here again. I recommend travellers to try this place, you will not regret it.
We recently had lunch at Tiamo in Carlton, and it was fantastic. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made us feel right at home. The menu offered a range of traditional Italian dishes.
We started with the antipasto and chips, which were the perfect way to begin our meal. For the main courses, we had the risotto, gnocchi, lasagna, and spaghetti marinara. Each dish had fresh ingredients and were cooked to perfection.
The service was attentive, and we didn't feel rushed at all. The prices were reasonable, considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.
If you're in Carlton and looking for a great Italian lunch spot, Tiamo is definitely worth a visit.

Have not been to this place in a long time... something is now different....and for the better.
Had a catch up with some people. Ordered a few coffee's and of course, breakfast dishes.
Food: Plesently surprised. Good portion sizes, fresh ingredients and most importantly, great flavour. Ordered the Turkish eggs and something else ( can't member right now). It goes without staying, the coffee was great.
Service: Very good. Friendly, professional and very accommodating
Cleanliness: very clean
Overall experience. Pleasantly surprised. I will definitely return again.

The food was really, really good, it tasted amazing, and looked really nice. The portions are a bit small though, for the price. Staff are kind and friendly, and drinks come out really fast. We got seated pretty quickly. The atmosphere is sooo nice! The music isn't too loud either.
Recommended by local, apparently they said St Ali has the best coffee in town, so I come and try it out.
They have really lots of variety of beans and brewing, I tried their standard and daily single origin, well, thats really good 😊
Food are very special as well, my favorite is the Barramundi Wings (fish with sweet and spicy source), a bit of thai flavor which is a surprise in view of this is a Coffee place. But i really love it, very fresh fish as well.
Turkish Egg and Fluffy pancakes are good as well.
St. Ali coffee roasters was recommended as their favorite Melbourne cafe for me to visit on my trip to Melbourne.
They roast their own coffee which is absolutely 10/10. The chili scramble was amazing the service was exceptional.

We came here for a quick coffee and it did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and well informed of the speciality drinks. We got ‘espresso flight’ and ‘strawberry cloud’. They were great. My only complaint and reason to not come back is the prices. My drink was $16 alone. Not very affordable, especially in this economy!

The blueberry lemon pie coffee was STUNNING! We had the polenta, salmon bagel, scrambled eggs and a pour over but the blueberry lemon pie drink stole the show! It sounds like a kiddy dessert beverage but it's so complex and delicately crafted - the coffee whip was so delicious to both an espresso lover and a non-coffee drinker present that we had to get another one to go!
Saddened that it doesn't seem to be on the menu at the other outlets - but we'll definitely travel out here the next time we fly into Melbourne just to savour this flavour again.

Mamak Melbourne is a popular contemporary Malaysian restaurant in the heart of Melbourne. It offers a diverse menu featuring satay, noodles, and delectable desserts like sweet roti. Mamak's food is probably one of closest taste of malaysian cuisine i had ever since I left malaysia. The service time is less, the waiters were polite and friendly. I ordered nasi lemak and teh o limau ( lemon tea ) is the same taste like malaysia.

Nice restaurant, was excited to finally try this place out after hearing/reading about this place. I arrived too early for a 1.30 appointment so happy to find this place open at 11:35. I was quickly shown to a table, provided a menu and the server was anouy to leave. I asked if order would be taken at table - No, you have to order at counter hmmm … would have been courteous if she had said that at first instant, but ok.
I decided nasi lemak ($13.50) sounded safe enough to try and they had sambal sotong which could be ordered extra for $6, plus teh tarik. Went to counter and ordered my food, no problem. Within 5 minutes my teh tarik appeared. Not bad.
Tables were slowly filling up. The restaurant seemed to fill up left end of restaurant first instead of offering middle or right side to people coming in - just minor observations by me. Then my nasi penal arrived and I told myself: looks delicious. Took my photos of the food and drinks and started on my food.
😳😳😳 what !!?? Why was the food cold ? Is this how they serve nasi lemak here at Nanak? Even the additional siting sambal was cold. The sambal was also sweet. Becos I am on low sugar diet I am more sensitive to sugar in food. Oh dear, what do I do. ? I did not want to make a fuss. Taste was not great either.
I surreptitiously watched my neighbours - they were busy chatting and seemed too engrossed in their conversations to worry about their food. is it just me? Or is this how the nasi lemak is usually served?
Ahh … I was in no mood to complain or request heated food I ate what bits I could, then left - never will I return to this place.

Food was good. Roti is aft and curries are well prepared. Dessert offerings are unique and tasty. Only drawback is not very kid friendly. No high chairs offered.
Malaysian street food with a variety of different roti’s. Favourite is roti tisu which comes out like a thin cone that’s wafer thin with sprinklings of white sugar within giving it a crispy sweet texture. Choose to have it with ice cream or curry. Chicken satays are great but if were cooked on coal and not deep fried then pan fried would be better. Sambal is delicious & can buy a bottle to take home for $14. Plenty of seating & clean open restaurant. Staff friendly. Eftpos surcharge, weekend surcharge & public holiday surcharge apply.
The best roti you can find in Melbourne. Roti is made fresh to order. It’s light, flaky and chewy, and when dipped in curries and sauces, it’s the ultimate snack / meal. The desert rotis were also fantastic. Along with this, the service was amazing. Staff were all super friendly.
My first time trying Mamak was in Sydney back in 2017, and it left such a strong impression that I’ve always wanted to share the experience with my parents. So when my family visited Melbourne, I knew I had to take them to Mamak Melbourne.
We ordered the chicken satay, nasi goreng, and banana roti. And honestly, the banana roti is still the must-try dish in my heart — flaky, crispy layers wrapped around warm, sweet bananas. It brought such joy to the table, especially for my mum — she couldn’t stop smiling with every bite. Seeing her so happy over a dish that holds a special place in my memory made the moment even more meaningful.
Great food and the service is Reslly attentive. We ordered the chicken skewers, tisu roti, kaya roti and roti chanai. My favourite was the tisu roti as it had a sprinkle of sugar WITHT a thin base. IVE cream was served on the side and paired perfectly. There kaya wasnt strong and tasted like orange. Roti chanai is an original and Reslly CSNT go wrong

Our starters came out fresh, vibrant, and full of character – the dumplings were perfectly crisped on the outside with rich fillings, and the smaller plates were balanced beautifully. The noodles were absolutely delicious, packed with spice, texture, and that signature punch Hawker Hall is known for.
There was a small hiccup with our main, but the staff handled it with genuine attentiveness and made sure we were looked after right away. The service overall was friendly, prompt, and professional, which really added to the experience.
Hawker Hall remains one of those spots that consistently blends great food, atmosphere, and service. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back not just for the dishes, but for the whole dining experience.

Have a weakness for Malaysian food and decided to check Hawker Hall. The ambience and service was exceptional. The Rendang and the Bombe Alaska stood out while the rest was okay.

It’s was the curry beef Rendang to make us to come back to dine in this time. We didn’t order much of the snacks selection except the salt and pepper calamari yummy. For the drink we orders two beautiful cocktails the classic margarita, but didn’t have any Ganish, which is a little bit sad but with the whiskey sour it was bang on - we love it .
Overall, the staff are very friendly that come and check with us with our meal and how it going, which is very good! And it was a fantastic night out with friends or a group of friends. They have lots of beautiful sitting section.
One last thing it is the Nasi Goreng fried rice is a little bit spicy. They should ask us that. Can we eat spicy or not and to make sure not too spicy for other customers preference.That’s all.
We visited this restaurant to celebrate our 7th anniversary, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations. We chose the set menu and spent around $140 AUD for shared dishes. From the first bite, my partner mentioned the food was too salty, but I wanted to give the next dishes a chance. Sadly, the following plates were just as heavily seasoned — overwhelmingly salty and difficult to enjoy. We even had to return some because they were inedible.
The dessert portion was also quite small for sharing. In the end, we left unsatisfied and had to go to Yo Chi.

Seating in high chairs and booths, Unfortunately the food was average in comparison to some other hawker style restaurants with Malaysian and Singaporean food.
First of all i would gave a clap to awesome service just want to dine outside and the awesome waiter keep checking on me how’s the food and refilling water and how’s my day and so so which is really nice and felt welcoming and atmosphere great for date night with great dj and sweet cool interior design .
Food not really ideal place for solo dining quite expensive but really recommend for two person or more

Despite the original building burning down in 1950, the market has thrived under temporary shelter until the 1970s. The market exudes an open and airy atmosphere with stalls instead of shops, housing old-fashioned businesses like cobblers and hardware stores.
Prahran Markets have been upgraded and are better than ever. Not too large, so you feel you get around most of the stalls and shops. Fabulous fresh food, wine tasting and great for breakfast or lunch. If you want really great quality meat then the five butcher shops present are amazing. They are a must visit.

If you love to cook and appreciate good quality ingredients, this is a must visit. Gourmet produce and everything looks so fresh and beautifully displayed. We bought some really good quality steak here. Prices are slightly higher, especially for vegetables, though I am not too familiar with local pricing.
It is not touristy and not crowded. We visited on a weekday around 3pm. Initially we planned to have lunch here, but our earlier plans ran late, so we just bought some ingredients to cook dinner instead.
Would love to return and spend more time here if I get the chance.
Prahran market is a well known locals market that has changed so much over the years. These days, open 5 days and all weekend, you can find well priced produce and fresh meats here along with fabulous locally made fresh ingredients. Coffee here is reasonably priced and its a great place to have a quick bite, catch up with some friends and even have a tipple or two.
One of the best markets in town!! As a chef, I always find products from all over the world, from america, europe or asia, also fresh veggies from local farmers and good food spots. It is not too crowded or too touristy like the others in Mlb 🤩

This used to be one of our favorite places. We hadn't been there in a while so we wanted to see if they had anything new and exciting: not really. They have some new seasonal items but they're not great. The prawn dumplings in "superior" broth and sweet & sour chicken are especially disappointing. The soy sauce noodles weren't anything special. The baked buns, prawn vermicelli rolls, and chicken/sausage rice are as great as they ever were. They have QR code table ordering now, but prices remain pretty high in such a competitive area. We weren't disappointed overall but we probably won't return in a hurry.
Tried Tim Ho Wan and found it a bit hit and miss. The food came out quickly and some dishes were nice, but overall the flavours didn’t stand out and a couple of items felt a little bland. The menu was also quite limited, which made it hard to try much variety.
Service was fine but nothing special, and the atmosphere felt a bit rushed and crowded. It’s okay for a quick meal if you’re nearby, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way for.

Food was great! My friend and I really enjoyed the clear soup noodles and the dry noodles. They look simple but were full of flavours.
What’s worth mentioning is their impeccable service. We wanted to ask about the menu and this guy carrying a stack of many dim sum steamers tall enough to block his view stopped to help us. Very impressed by their dedication to be attentive to customers.

Perhaps stick to their rice/noodle dishes and dumplings.

Ding Tai Fung Melbourne has exceeded my expectation for my dining experience. The servers were very kind, attentive and happy to serve. The food is great and so tasty. Our favourite is the Crispy Prawn with Mayonnaise & Pineapple. We even bought 2 to take home. The ambience was really nice as well. The Toilet is clean and well maintained. Over all, you deserve a 10-10! We will definitely be back☺️
Great place to have Xiao Long Bao, the price is on the higher side, but the service is quite nice. They are not as busy as they used to be, so on weekday lunch time, we didn’t need to make a reservation.

Pretty spacious dining place. Their steam dumplings are pretty good. Comes with different meat filling options. My favourite is the pork dumplings. So juicy and tender. We also had chicken chilli, egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken and it wasn't bad. So many option in the menu. Will definitely go back to try more. Price was reasonable. Service was fast and friendly beside the slow robots taking you to the table was a bit frustrating. Overall, pretty happy with the food
My first time Melbourne Ding Tai Feng, they taste gorgeous, super thick soup for the Xiao Long Bao. the service was pretty cool you getting lead to your seat from one server to the other which is a little bit weird for me.
the fried rice is their specialty and it does taste good, and serves really fast. the dim sum are the usual shape, taste good, so no complain.
Let me tell you about my trip to Din Tai Fung in Melbourne, Victoria. Now, I'd heard the hype about this dumpling place for ages, so my expectations were definitely high. Walking in, the whole vibe was modern and chic, with this open kitchen where you could see the chefs meticulously folding those famous xiao long bao. It felt a bit on the busy side, but the energy was good.
We ordered a steamer basket of their classic pork dumplings, of course. And let me tell you, the first bite lived up to all the praise! The soup inside was this burst of flavorful broth, and the pork filling was perfectly seasoned. It was like a little explosion of deliciousness in my mouth. We also tried the crumbed chicken fillet, which was surprisingly light and crispy on the outside, and juicy and tender on the inside.
Overall, Din Tai Fung was a great experience. The food was undeniably delicious, the service was efficient, and the atmosphere was buzzy. It's definitely not the cheapest place for dumplings, but the quality and experience definitely justify the price tag. If you're looking for a taste of some seriously good Shanghainese cuisine, I highly recommend checking it out!

Jinda Thai Restaurant is a family-owned eatery in Abbotsford that has been serving authentic Thai cuisine since 2013. The restaurant's warehouse-style interior with exposed-brick walls, vintage furnishings, and large windows creates a pleasant dining atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of traditional and modern dishes, including street-style boat noodles, pad ka na crispy pork, curries, tom yum soup, and more. Absolutely loved our dinner and experience at Jinda. Normally, when we eat Thai food, it tends to be a handful of dishes we enjoy and a couple misses. I must say Jinda changed that where every dish that arrived on the table was bang on, full of flavour and downright delicious. The seafood tom yum by far was the best I've had. The crispy prawns were magic. Satay with roti was yum and every curry we ordered was sensational. This was such an enjoyable dinner that we ordered takeaway from them the next night. Highly recommend for that unmessed with, flavourful food.

After exploring several Thai restaurants in Melbourne, I always find myself returning to Jinda—it's my go-to spot! The restaurant serves authentic and delicious Thai cuisine, complemented by wonderful, friendly, and efficient staff (especially M&B). I can’t recommend it enough! I often hear Thai-speaking customers sitting nearby, which speaks volumes.
My favorites are the duck curry, Tom Yum noodles, and boat noodles (the soup noodles are served at lunch). I can’t even name them all—there are just too many! 😃🤤

The seats are really full. The restaurant is decorated comfortably. It's a pleasant meal. It's suitable for parties. You just need to use a little effort when talking.

Unfortunately disappointing! Have been wanting to try for a while, pad see ew was dry and lacking taste. Coconut rice was okay, but very vague coconut flavour. Crispy tofu was 5 or pieces of tofu for $15! Overpriced, small portions, and not as tasty as hoped. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things but overall disappointed

So without further delay, I ordered the famous Huxtaburger (Grass-fed beef patty, cheese, mustard, mayo, tomato sauce, tomato, lettuce and pickles, $14.95) and Regular Chips (with Chicken Salt, $5.50). The delivery was quite fast, so by tge time I received my burger and fries both were warm.
The burger was excellent! It was simple, incredibly fresh, and the sauces were excellent. The beef patty was so juicy, plus the pickles underneath was totally new to me and I loved it! The fries too were so good. Overall, this place definitely ranks in my best burger joints around.

Ordered via delivery. Huxtaburger taste alright. But the cost for thin beef patty burger I find it hard to come again.
The most let down are the fries, fried chicken tenders and fried churro all been kept in heated oven for far too long that taste so dried and hardened. Couldn't continue to eat them and had to throw them away.
When your venue cost so much than MacDonald and KFC. You expected least better taste and quality.
The signature smashed beef patties are made with Victorian grass-fed beef and you can really taste the difference. We went for the Duo Pack: 2 burgers, 2 drinks, large chips, and your choice of 4 chicken tenders or 2 cheeseburger sliders. It’s more than enough for two, but of course, I had to add the cheesy bacon chips (a must) and slaw to cut through the richness. The smashed burgers were great, simple and done well.
Nothing gimmicky, just a solid classic burger. The chips were super crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the cheesy bacon version was loaded. The chicken tenders were a standout, especially dipped in their gravy, which took them to the next level. The slaw with ranch felt like a fancier version of KFC’s, fresh, creamy, and balanced.

The food was delicious, with a relaxed and chilled ambience and friendly staff. We ordered the two burger combo, which came with large chips, fried chicken, and two drinks, great value for sharing. I tried the Britney burger, which was juicy, tasty, and very filling. The fried chicken was also crisp and well seasoned, and the chips were perfectly cooked.
Another big plus is that they’re open late. We visited after 9 PM on a Friday night, straight after a show at 3CR radio, and it was a perfect spot to grab a bite and unwind. A great choice on Smith Street if you’re after a casual, tasty burger meal with good vibes.
First experience here and it was a damn good burger. Staff was friendly, service was quick and wait times very short. Came through around midday and there was a small line but barely worth mentioning as it didn't take long for them to all receive orders.
I had the Jane burger and whilst I don't normally enjoy a basic burger that much, huxtaburger does it very well! So I'll have to try the fancier ones another time.
Huxta always gets it right. Open late for my random cravings, with staff who know how to keep the vibe chill while serving up the best burgers. The menu has soooooo many options it’s honestly a problem, because I want everything!!!! Every time I tell myself it’s just a one-time treat, but we both know I’ll be back again. <3

However, I would have preferred the option of either unlimited roti and rice, or at least being able to choose between them. Paying an additional $4 for a small portion of rice felt quite overpriced. Offering a bit more flexibility with the sides would really improve the dining experience.

Dehli Rocks is decent value but very basic. There's not much in the way of presentation but the food tastes good. While my samosa chat was passable, the coleslaw looked like it was a few days old. The offer of extra bread is a nice touch for anyone who orders a lunch combo, and the complimentary chai is intense and sweet but also delicious.
Stopped by with my brother for dinner, a great spot that’s not far from the station. It was a Sunday night but pretty busy and it was nice to see everyone know the spot to come. We got the three curries with unlimited roti, there’s also unlimited sweet milk tea sorry I don’t know the proper name but the curries were really tasty and enjoyable especially for $15. It has good value, there’s many vegetarian curries to choose from and they’re all really good. The staff are all friendly and helpful as the nice lady gave me recommendations based on what spice level I preferred.
Today, I ordered the 'Special Thali'. It comes with your choice of 3 curries, rice, roti and tea. I had the goat, chicken and potato. All were absolutely beatiful. The place is clean and tidy. The guy who served me was welcoming and efficient. The prices are great. This place is very popular, and for good reason. The goat was so tender and delicious. The roti is brought to your table, warm and fresh. The chicken was amazing. I know I say this a lot, but I highly recommend you try Deli Rocks. You won't be disappointed. I'll definitely be back for more.
Where to begin, Delhi Rocks - you all rocked!
I have never experienced an all u can eat roti place, nor did I know what I was ordering, however, from the moment that I walked through the doors to when I left, I felt all the joy and happiness from everyone in the restaurant.
The person behind the curry counter was amazing, gave me the best curries to try and I did not mind the spicier curries. As an "outsider" I did not feel like one.
When I sat down, I did not know how or where to get the rotis but with patience and understanding, the staff explained they will cook it and bring it to you - what a terrific idea!
The man that served me the rotis, shout to you for your friendliness and hospitality.
As a bonus, the chai tea was unlimited too! I definitely will be back!
If you are ever in town and craving Indian food, I will definitely recommend for everyone to try this place! 10/10

The highlight for us has always been the freshly made roti. Served hot and soft, it’s the kind of roti you don’t often find in restaurants, and it really reminds us of home. Pairing it with their curries makes for a simple but very satisfying meal.
The service here is another strong point. The staff are attentive, polite, and quick to serve, which makes the whole dining experience smooth and enjoyable.

No one could possibly dislike The Stokehouse so no need to go on about it.....except to say it probably had The Best Waiters and Waitresses I've ever known at a Corporate function. There was no delay ever in catching their attention and being provided for very promptly. And I wasn't the only person who made that observation!!
I’m giving 1 star by default as it’s not possible to rate this place with 0 star. Literally scammy vibes here… it was so enjoyable to only realize the $2 oyster deal was not available… when the bill was handed to us. Of course the waiters are not going to mention the conditions of the oyster deal at any point, while we were clearly ordering oysters for the oyster deal. We felt fooled and upset. What a great experience. Be careful it’s not a cool place although it’s in a cool spot at the sea side. To top it off, table / chairs give a fast food furniture vibe, so no chance to feel cozy or comfortable to enjoy a $20 aperol.

Our server is amazing. She was on spot, show up at the right times, gave us a in-depth description of the menu and promptly shows up to assist us all the time. We felt like we were eating at the comfort of our homes.
My friend thought the food were on a small portion but food quality and taste is definitely top notch. Personal favorite is the oysters and Ricotta gnudi and pumpkin, side will be the grilled beans with almond.
Will definitely return to try the other offerings on their menu.
Located just across st Kilda beach. Well lit restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was efficient and polite. Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the dishes. The veal schnitzel was juicy and tender and not too oily. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly and the sauce was nice and creamy. Priced appropriately for the amazing location. So peaceful having some dinner while watching the beautiful sunset.
When we arrived, the waitress asked if we had a show to go to after dinner so that they could ensure the food came out promptly and we wouldn’t be late for our show. This was a thoughtful gesture and greatly appreciated! The communication from the staff was amazing, our meals were full of flavour, stunning views and great atmosphere. Service was great! American Doughnut Kitchen, located in Queen Victoria Market, is a must-visit for anyone in Melbourne. The hot jam donuts are a classic and always draw long lines due to their deliciousness. Despite the wait, the fluffy and fragrant doughnuts with a molten core of strawberry jam are worth it. The service is efficient, and you can get five doughnuts for $7.50 from the cute little van inside the market.
When I told both Melbourne locals and those who had visited previously that I was heading to the Queen Victoria Markets for the first time, 90% of people (if not more!) said I needed to get in early and head straight to the American Doughnut Kitchen van. Not one to argue with the majority, I decided to do just that.
I rocked up at the market at 9am sharp on Sunday and was delighted to be the only one in the queue. The workers were happy, friendly and even though I just ordered one jam doughnut, the lady serving me threw in an extra one as a treat 🙂↔️
I found a seat, got the just-fried doughnut out of the bag and went to doughy heaven. I’m a keep-it-basic cinnamon doughnut kind of girl, but this was a real treat. It was warm, so fresh, the jam was more like a delicious berry coulis and had a slight tang (which helped offset the sugar coating).
The dough itself wasn’t overly sweet which again I really liked. It was more bread like than brioche like, and felt more ‘traditional’.
Overall, it was the best $2.20 I’ve spent in a long while.
*I did notice that after about 9:30am the queue to the van became super long so it’s worth getting in early!

Bought one hot jam doughnut for $2.30. Came around lunchtime, no crazy queue. They’ve temporarily moved to the E-Shed due to nearby construction, but it’s still easy to find. The doughnut was piping hot, crispy outside and soft inside, filled with sweet jam. Very sweet though, one is definitely enough or it gets jelak! A nice little treat to end your food hunt at the market haha. 🍩

These donuts are next-level good. The big queues say it all – they’re pumping out these gems all day long, and they’re worth every second of the wait. An absolute must-try when visiting Melbourne!
The line is long but it’s so worth the wait. The doughnuts are freshly made there, filled with warm jam. It’s not too sweet thanks to the jam adds a nice tanginess that cuts through. The dough is warm has a nice chew but is so fluffy. I definitely recommend getting it as a snack. They keep making them so I don’t believe they run out. Don’t give up on the wait!

I visited this place, coming from Adelaide for the weekend. Safe to say the reviews are on point - the doughnuts are a generous size, pillowy as all hell, warm, cozy, filled with a delicious raspberry-plum jam and coated in sugar.
You honestly can't go wrong. I only got the bag of 5, but immediately I wanted to get more.

What a great find! Busy little cafe and wine bar. Staff super friendly and very efficient. The have an eclectic mix of wines that change all the time. Staff are happy for you to taste the wine to help you decide which one to choose. Most of the seating is in the arcade. After 5pm they serve snacks and they have a small menu of option that again changes regularly. Definitely we will go back again

What a great little fins for a post theatre feed and drinkies. Just over the road from the National Theatre fortunately scored the last table and right in with a dual margarita starter. Some chips n salsas which was delicious rich and spicy. We shared a set of 3 types tacos tween us and all were delicious. Crispy not only fish, beef birria and the highlight for me was the pork. Honourable mention for the birria consomme that was one of the most flavoursome I've tasted. Good enough to drink.

Also the poppers are gluten free which is a treat and the restaurant contacted me to advise the porkntacos were not gluten free so i could substitute something so you can trust them to take allergies seriously. Highly recommend. Be prepared for a but of a longer wait than other places but worth it.

Arlechin is a hidden gem in Melbourne, tucked away in a nondescript laneway with minimal signage. Originally used as wine storage for Grossi Florentino, it has been transformed into a late-night Italian cocktail bar. The menu offers an array of delicious food options such as salumi boards, pasta dishes like the beloved midnight spaghetti, bolognese jaffles, and crumpets topped with whipped baccala.
Loved the cozy vibes and great design of the place. As I don't drink much, I only went for the non-alcoholic mocktails, but they were great too. I particularly liked the 'Elderflower spritz' and the 'Greed'.
It was fairly quiet as we were there on a weekday, but the staff were friendly and attentive all evening.

This was our second visit to Arlechin, this time with some friends from Sydney. We stopped in for a few cocktails after dinner and loved it just as much as the first time.
Our first visit was a couple of weeks ago after my wife heard about the place from a colleague. We had a couple of cocktails and shared the Jaffle Bolognaise and the Steak Tartare. Both dishes were absolutely delicious.
The vibe is spot on. It’s got that late-night, tucked-away feel but still has a great energy and atmosphere. Perfect spot for drinks, a snack, or both. We’ll definitely be back.
Tucked away down Mornane Place, just off Bourke and Exhibition, Arlechin delivers a sophisticated and dimly-lit late-night dining and cocktail experience, a perfect spot for a refined after-dark outing . The space seats around 40 and feels like a European wine cellar with its cork-lined vaulted ceiling, hanging lights, and minimalist industrial décor.
We arrived for a bite and ordered the steak tartare, which came with fries, a classic presentation that truly hit the mark. It stood out as one of the best versions of tartare in Melbourne, rich, finely seasoned, and beautifully plated.
To pair with the food, we enjoyed a cocktail from their creative menu, classics and twists alike like the Puttanesca Martinez and a barrel-aged Negroni, expertly executed by staff and bar manager Russell Branford. The drink added an elegant lift to the meal and complemented the dish perfectly.
The ambiance is cozy and intimate, with low lighting, wine-filled glass walls, and a long marble-topped bar lined with illuminated liquor bottles, ideal for groups or a date . They use Kuramoro ice, an extra clear, slow melting Japanese ice made from pure mountain water, which is designed to elevate cocktails without diluting them. 🧊

We visited during our family trip and were absolutely satisfied with our meal!
We ordered the tofu stew, stone pot bibimbap, and pork cutlet — everything was delicious, and my whole family enjoyed every bite.
Also, a special thanks to the Korean male staff member who was so kind and friendly.

Ordered the lunch special... It was okay not amazing. They added sauce everywhere wished they could separate the sauce. Table was really tiny for two adult and child. Didn't feel comfortable eating inside.
If you have only an hour break dont come here they it took them 40 mins to cook and sometime they cut your queue to do for someone else as well if their order is easier ???? Great so i got the food while some one who came later then already finished eating. So, 10 mins to order on the app then wait for 40 mins to eat and the food was mid, i recommend go to Surasang instead, their soup is better and quicker. omg took them life time to cook and their tables werent even full when I arrived, and still I ending up packed everything. Simple and hearty, these hot tofu hotpot dishes make me feel like I’m living an actual proper winter rather than this awful season that Melbourne calls winter. The fried chicken were crispy and juicy (would recommend). It was a little difficult to customise dishes as the QR code website doesn’t have a space for comments, and the waitress had a bit of a hard time understanding our simple request (no sides in one of the hotpots).
I was craving the king donkatsu today, so I headed back to DooBoo after a long time. The generous portions and delicious flavor were just as good as I remembered. The serving was so big, I even had to take some home. Definitely recommend!

We got there at 5pm for a pre "Annie" musical dinner. This place is an amazing surprise. Street front looks like a tiny takeaway. Go through the mysterious black curtain, wow, it's perfect. Small booths, dim lighting and the MOST PERFECT pizza I have ever had. We shared a half and half/seafood and peperoni. It's alot of food for two people, we didn't finish it, but it was brilliant. Funky large pizzas with fresh ingredients and fun to share with a group as they are quite large. Fun combinations of toppings with specials. Cool atmosphere with a live DJ playing tunes in the evening. It is a pretty small place though so it can get filled and busy rather easily but take away is still a great option too.

Booked this place for office lunch and we were not disappointed. Great place, location and great service. We ordered 9-10 dishes with drinks which came in a blink. Fast service with nice atmosphere . Food was also fantastic. Great taste. Must try.
Food was generally good but my fave was definitely the prawn taco. Very nicely seasoned, and well complemented by the pineapple salsa.
The mushroom taco was a bit too oily, so the taco ends up becoming quite soggy.
We arrived at Fonda for an early dinner — 4:30 — as I had an event to go to after 6.
Our drinks arrived within 5 minutes and the three entrees — a few minutes later.
The mains (we just ordered 4 tacos), took just under 50 minutes to selves but which stage we were getting a bit frustrated.
At 5:25, according to the receipt, I ordered a burrito to go, so my partner could have a late-night snack, and churros for dessert. The burritos arrived at 5:55, but there was no sign of the churros. I had to leave.
My partner texted me just after 7 — over 1.5 hours after ordering the churros — that they have just served them, after he spoke to the staff. I then saw a refund of $12 in my bank account. My partner spent over 1 hour on his own waiting for churros.
Although the food was nice and the staff were friendly, the waiting time was inexcusable and we wouldn’t return.
To top it all off, Fonda emailed me for feedback and I typed pretty much all of the above, after which I couldn’t submit the text, I could only click “skip” to submit the star review without any text, so it seems like they aren’t even open to any constructive feedback.
My recommendation? This is Melbourne — there’s so much more out there — do not waste your time (literally).
I love the restaurant, delicious food, especially the pulled shiitake mushroom meals and the tacos, ...but hey... you have to do something with the takeaway packaging. You could easily get another one ⭐️ for this, but just be aware of it, so others would get a nice and safe packed meal instead of a mess since we pay for it!
We had gotten uber eats and had a mix up with our order. Food was missing and after waiting so long to receive it we called the restaurant and received the best customer service from Adiel.
He went above and beyond to make sure we received the best after the mix up. He was so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much for him. He ensured we were completely satisfied before hanging up and gave us the best experience. We’ll be coming in just to get his service again!!

Had all the burritos here and can say they are made with pure finesse. Favourites would have to be the lamb shoulder burrito and the fried fish. The lamb shoulder is perfectly tender and the fish one tastes like fried chicken with no seafoody taste at all. Also tried the chicken one and it’s also good but the other 2 are my clear winners.

Danny’s Burgers holds a special place in my heart. Literally every weekend when I was younger and partying, I would stop here with friends on the way home and eat.
Long before the “burger” joint became a fad, Danny’s was here before them all, since 1945 in fact.
Actually, so long it’s been here that my dad recalls coming here when HE was in his 20’s, back in the 1960’s.
This place is an institution. An original. Its corner setting reminds me of the famous painting Boulevard of Broken Dreams. It has a very New York-American diner feel to it.
Staff are always friendly, the burgers are well priced and their quality is top notch.
One day, hopefully I’ll bring kids here. May it never close down. We have a duty to keep these independents running.

Danny's Burger are old fashion classic big burgers. Nothing fancy just burgers, steak sandwiches, chips, drinks and dim sims. A favourite for revellers and the night crowd headed home after a night out or even for a daytime meal.
Probably hands down top 5 burgers in Melbourne bar none. Nostalgia is the word I would use to describe the burgers here, I'm not a fan of greasy burgers and I can honestly say the burgers at Danny's had no drippage and yet maintained all the moistness you'd want, very generous portion with the meat and perfect ratio of lettuce, cheese sauce and bun. Reminded me of my high school days going to the local fish and chip shop and ordering the usual 'lot' burger and it was just as satisfying if not more knowing I'll be able to relive those memories as long as this beautiful establishment is open.
Danny’s Burgers feels like an old-school American diner mixed with a classic fish-and-chip shop burger joint. Got the burger with the lot — bacon, egg, everything — for around $15. It’s affordable in today’s terms, but for the quality, it didn’t feel like amazing value.
The patty was super thin and pretty tasteless — almost reminded me of a beyond meat patty in texture and flavour. Chips were unfortunately a letdown too, nothing special there. Had a dimmie on the side which was, well… a dimmie. But hey, respect the hustle.
The vibe is definitely family-run, with super friendly staff and a laid-back local feel. Can see why it’s a local go-to, even if the food didn’t really hit for me personally.

This is my favourite place to get Philly cheesesteak; it's delicious and always so consistent. The Bourbom Bacon is fantastic and I always opt for extra protein and extra cheese to make it really worth it. I appreciate that there's the option to add more to it. Spiced fries are also delicious. Decent Food, but a Few Misses
We recently ordered from Richmond Fish and Chips in Melbourne and had a mixed experience. My partner ordered the Fish Pack, which came with fish, a potato patty, a dim sim, and tartare sauce, while I ordered a veggie burger, large chips with gravy, and a can of Coke.
First, the positives: the veggie burger was delicious and definitely a highlight! However, there were a few disappointments. My large chips were missing from the order, though the gravy came separately (and unfortunately, it was just average—I wouldn’t recommend it). Also, the chips in my partner’s Fish Pack weren’t salted, which would have added to the flavor. My partner thought his meal was okay but nothing special.
Overall, the experience was fine, but there’s room for improvement. Would love to give it another shot if the consistency improves.
Started out good until we only got 1 piece of the 2 pieces we ordered of fish. When I questioned it I was almost sworn at by I am assuming the owner/manager. Lucky I am visiting from out of state. We ordered the Divine Lamb and Prosciutto pizza on our second visit and boy was it amazing! Everything was fresh and the crust is the perfect level of crispiness that I like personally. It was the first pizza we've had since moving to Melbourne and I enjoyed every second of it.
We are heading out of our Airbnb soon but this store is definitely of our list of restaurants to return to. Cheers! 👍

We wanted to love this pizza but it was a very bizarre tasting pizza. Too many olives and anchovies which over powered the whole pizza. The crust was thin and crunchy which was very pleasing.

Came to try the schnitzel burger as I heard it's a good deal. I actually saw this spot pop up in a post by @tightarsesofmelbourne promoting their Chicken Burger and I was literally salivating at the sight if it. I was around the area only a couple days later and took that as a sign. 🤣
The Chicken Burger comes in at $10.50 and it is huge! It felt clean, I loved the use of the fluffy Turkish roll, the chicken itself was extremely moist and steaming hot. The chips could’ve been crispier but had great seasoning!
The value here is great and the service is also super friendly, lots of regulars popping in for their lunch time fix! I’d definitely grab one again or try some more items from the menu when I’m in Fairfield next. 💯

I got a 1/4 chicken and chips for $9.50. There were so many chips but it was so well seasoned and fresh. The chicken was the same story. Very big portion size as well, this was a struggle to finish and I usually eat 1/2 chicken and chips with ease 🤣
Service was extremely quick, especially during the lunchtime rush. I got my food within five minutes.
Rooster Bar also has plenty of indoor seating available.
Ordered through Uber Eats. Chips were well seasoned, good texture but arrived barely warm with lid not closed on box and not full like they usually are. (Space in box) Creamy scalloped potatoes were very disappointing. Sliced potato were just cooked, barely seasoned, lacked ANY creamy sauce throughout layers. Small amount of liquid in bottom of container. Tasted like slightly seasoned milk. Or watered down cream. Creamy potato bake should be as the description says, "creamy". Potatoes should be well cooked with a thick cheesy cream sauce. $11 per serve for what you get was very disappointing. Peas were perfectly cooked and tasty. Can of drink wasn't chilled, just cold. Followed driver on route via Uber app. He had another delivery on the way to my home apparently then went the long way around to my place. Choosing to drive down a main road instead of 2 side streets which would have shortened his trip and the time my meal arrived.
Ordered the schnitzel burger was good but had a bit too much mayo and lettuce making it a bit wet and oily. The atmosphere was nice with all the kids having a teary after finishing the term. The dim sims were good but I couldn’t see any chicken salt or soy sauce which people normally have Dimis with.
