Mumbles Pier, a Victorian structure that opened in 1898, is a historic landmark with a lifeboat slipway, boathouse, and fishing platform. The village of Mumbles offers an enchanting experience for both residents and visitors. As you travel down Mumbles Road, the stunning sweep of Swansea Bay unfolds on your left. Nestled beneath a steep cliff are small houses leading to the coast where the Victorian pier stands proudly.
Pier is still closed to walk along. Lovley spot to relax and have food. Arcade for the kids with icecream and shakes available. Can be busy at times. The sea wall defence is near completion and has made this walk along spectacular. Parking is good with many spaces available along the route. Car park ticket machines are difficult to use. If you catch the weather and tide in your in for a treat beautiful place
Jam C — Google review
Please don't waste your time or money visiting the pier, it's more like a room by the sea. The views are really good if you like walking, the car park so too heavily priced, even disabled badge holders have to pay. Wouldn't waste my time again going here.
Kristy — Google review
This place is mind blowing. Must visit if you are at Swansea. The giant wheel is the key attraction & the view of the lighthouse on the adjacent island is mesmerizing. The food option are not great (taste wise) at the pier. But everyone can enjoy ice-cream while spending unlimited time overlooking the sea.
Rajendra P — Google review
Lovely little pier that is under renovation so partially closed. There is a fantastic restaurant, Copperfish, which has a separate take away as well as the main restaurant. The food is excellent and well priced. They run the pop up bar in the pier and again not over priced. Ample places to park and the whole area is worth a visit
Leigh P — Google review
Great little place to go and explore the surrounding area and also the Pier itself. June 2025 it is still not fully restored but you can still go on the pier for the first part (up to the clock tower) Small fair, arcade, café and restaurant on site. There is an upper (Big Apple) and lower small car parks next to the pier. Explore the rock pools below and at low tide you can scramble over the rocks to get to Middle Head and further to Mumbles Lighthouse. Explore above to the Mumbles Hill Local Nature Reserve for a better view.
Aaron C — Google review
Decent Pier. Unfortunately it was only open half way perhaps due to some maintenance. There is a big ferris wheel, dogems and an amusement arcade. There is also some nice food places including Copperfish which is where we grabbed some fish & chips. My wife is vegetarian so she was glad to be able to have the vegan fish which was a cleverly battered tofu and seaweed package. Overall it was worth the visit as there was a decent view of Bracelet Bay too.
Rajen M — Google review
What a fabulous place. Spotlessly clean, no litter at all. Lovely flower baskets, well serviced with cafes, little fun rides etc. Plenty of benches. Wonderful view of the entire bay (and the Swansea Air Show today).

It was a lovely warm evening the day we visited. Lots of people enjoying the sunshine, eating and drinking, enjoying the atmosphere, and playing on the pier. So many things to see and a great place to spend some time.

Perched above the stunning Bracelet Bay, Rok Mumbles is a family-owned restaurant and bar known for its delightful dining experience. Run by siblings Ryan and Lucy Hole, this establishment offers a perfect fusion of fine dining and a welcoming atmosphere. Guests rave about the exceptional service and breathtaking views of Mumbles lighthouse and the coastline. The restaurant's attention to dietary needs, such as coeliac disease, has been highly praised by visitors.
A superb dinner with drinks beforehand in the lovely bar. All food and wine was excellent. The plaice and sharing steak and pork on the bone were all great. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend! A modern sophisticated venue, overlooking bracelet bay! Loved the interior! A lovely manager greeted us and the staff waiting on us were polite and alert to anything we required. Most importantly - fantastic food! So tasty and delicious and beautifully presented! We will be back!

Easily my favorite restaurant in Swansea. Booked a table post-Christmas for an early New year’s celebration with my partner. Front of the house was great at checking our reservation, took our coat, and was very welcoming. Our server was also great and attentive without overly in your face and chatty. They have great selections of mocktails, which both my partner and I enjoyed very much as 2 people who don’t drink. And the mocktails actually taste delicious and unique, which mocktails often just taste like juice and not worth the penny. We ordered the milk bun with homemade welsh butter. Of course, this was the reason I came here and it was everything I could ever imagine. The bun comes in hot and steamy, perfect crunch on the outside and soft fluffy on the inside, and that butter… with the flaky salt on top? delightful give me 10 of those. We ordered multiple small plates: Cajun monkfish with gumbo (a bit spicy, my favorite of all), scallop (my partner’s favorite - was not rubbery at all), the mini burger (you can skip this one, quite basic), and chicken something which was also delish. I end the night with a sticky toffee pudding to myself. And it was THE BEST sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever tried. Truly worth every bite and will def come back

This was my second visit, having been really impressed with the quality of food and service the first time. This visit we chose the Sunday lunch option, which include both starters, main and dessert. I opted for the mackerel starter which was delicious incredible. Full of flavour and plenty of textures. The pork belly main had so many tasty elements, everything really complemented each other. I wanted a lighter dessert and went for the chocolate delice. This was so light and with the added white chocolate ganache and passion fruit was so refreshing. Everyone I came with was so impressed with their meal and was definitely worth the trip from Cardiff!

Sunday Roast at Rok Mumbles – Comfort, Class & Caramelised Cauli 🌊 We finally made it to Rok Mumbles for their Sunday roast—and it was every bit as heavenly as we hoped. We started with a milk bun & charcoal butter—soft, warm, and moreish. Then came the main event: 🥩 Well-done Longhorn beef – tender, richly flavoured and perfectly cooked. 🍗 Herb-brined chicken breast – juicy, succulent, and packed with flavour. Both arrived with golden aged beef dripping roasties, glazed carrots, root veg, seasonal greens, Yorkies, stuffing, and lush, velvety gravy. We added the caramelised cauliflower with Hafod cheese sauce & truffle crumb, and oh wow—it was pure decadence. Silky, savoury, slightly smoky… easily the star of the sides. We also had a children’s roast (just as beautifully done), though the only slight miss was the pot of veg—not quite enough to share between three, including our little one. A tad more would’ve been perfect. Dessert was next-level: 🍫 Chocolate delice with passion fruit textures and white salted chocolate ganache—bold, sharp, smooth. 🍮 Sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream—rich, gooey and utterly soul-soothing. ✨ Every course was crafted with care. Rok’s roast isn’t just a meal—it’s a full experience. Coastal setting, exceptional service, and plates that balance indulgence with elegance.

What an amazing find! We visited the beautiful Mumbles on a sunny Bank Holiday Sunday, 24/08/25, and stumbled upon the stunning restaurant, The ROK. Having made no prior reservation, we enquired whether any tables were available for Sunday lunch. We were greeted by the magnificent Debbie, who was incredibly warm and welcoming — she truly gave us a first-class introduction to the restaurant. Despite it being a busy afternoon, Debbie managed to find us a lovely table for two with breath taking views across Bracelet Bay. Our server, Josie, delivered excellent service from start to finish. She took her time to explain how the dining experience worked and made us feel well looked after throughout. The food was exceptional — amazing quality, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The cocktails were equally impressive, crafted with care and bursting with flavour. It was clear that the entire team at The ROK are hard-working and passionate, all working together to deliver a first-class dining experience. From the warm welcome to the final bite, everything was spot on. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

Beautiful restaurant on the mumbles point. Menu is well put together with a great variety. Dishes were executed extremely well and beautifully plated. Flavours and balance also on point. Small critic would be some of the hot plates did not arrive hot and just warm and also the price ratio was just slightly high on some dishes for how much you get. Otherwise a very nice dining experience and you can tell they want to do their best to give customers a memorable experience.
Greg S — Google review
What a Fabulous Dining Experience! I recently visited Rok in Mumbles, and it was absolutely sensational! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The food was to die for, and Debbie is an absolute gem – so warm and welcoming! We started with the milk bun (wow!) and moved on to the venison, which was chef’s kiss. The small plates of bon bons, prawns, and pork were all incredible, and the black garlic parmesan chips? I could live off them! The chicken was juicy with super crispy skin, and the buttery mash melted in your mouth. For dessert, the crème brûlée was one of the best I’ve ever had, the sticky toffee pudding was light and delicious, and the pear Bakewell tart was simply divine. Great selection of mocktails, cocktails, and wine – everyone loved their drinks. The staff were friendly and the service was top-notch. Honestly, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to go back!

Gin & Juice is a bar and grill that cocktail enthusiasts will enjoy, offering stunning rooftop views. It is located in Southend Gardens and has a chilled atmosphere suitable for families. Another notable dining option nearby is the Gower Seafood Hut, known for its award-winning dishes such as chili prawns and local cockles. Amazing cocktails, astounding variety of gin! Good food at a great price but smaller plates so don’t expect a banquet. Unique atmosphere with lovely staff. A beautiful sea view balcony to sit on or enjoy the eclectic atmosphere indoors. Perfect for any day! Live music on a Thursday evening. My favourite place in Mumbles.

Staff at bar were welcoming and helpful. Sitting in the outdoor part of the rooftop was very pleasant. Had the chef special, pulled beef baguette, which was served in a generous portion with delicious fries. Rarebit had a crispy toasted bit which was nice, and a good amount of cheese on. Gin and tonic was nice. Music was good. Would revisit.

We recently booked the rooftop terrace at Gin & Juice for our wedding meal, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome and looked after every detail with care and professionalism. The rooftop itself is stunning a beautifully designed space with a relaxed yet elegant vibe, perfect for an intimate celebration. The ambiance, combined with the gorgeous views and tasteful decor, created a magical setting for our special day. The food was excellent. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor clearly made with quality ingredients and attention to detail. The drinks, as expected from a place known for its gin selection, were fantastic. Our guests loved the unique cocktail options and curated gin menu. Service was top-notch throughout the event. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly without being intrusive. They struck the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, which made us and our guests feel completely at ease. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue to celebrate such an important moment. Thank you to everyone at Gin & Juice for helping make our wedding meal so memorable. Highly recommend this venue for any special occasion.

We came here for drinks Saturday night and found the place to be wonderfully decorated with a busy but calm and friendly atmosphere. The views of Mumbles Pier and the Bay were also superb, which added an open element to the cosy setting. The drinks were excellent, we asked for something interesting based around Gin and they came up with these beauties. Will definitely return again.

Joe's Ice Cream Parlour, a beloved institution in Swansea, Wales, has been serving up their famous vanilla ice cream for over 100 years. The family-owned business still uses the original recipe created by Joe Cascarini himself. With a second location in Cardiff, locals and visitors alike flock to Joe's for their consistently delightful desserts. Overlooking Swansea Bay, patrons can enjoy their fresh vanilla ice cream with various toppings while taking in the picturesque views.
I visited Joe’s on a Sunday evening. It was full, I could barely get a place to sit. I ordered a large milkshake share which I really enjoyed. Then order a plate of waffles with vanilla ice cream and hazelnut topping. The plate of waffle was really yummy and Id be going back for it.

Joe’s ice cream has few rivals in this part of Wales though there’ll be some who won’t agree but they constitute a minority. This parlour at the corner of St Helen’s Road has plenty of space to sit inside and enjoy the ice cream. There’s even a toilet for emergencies!! Great ice cream.
Brahma R — Google review
Easily the best ice cream in Swansea! The flavours are incredibly rich and truly live up to their reputation. The parlour itself is a lovely spot to visit and enjoy this creamy Italian delight right here in Wales. I highly recommend trying the classic plain ice cream — it’s pure frozen perfection! But if you prefer a little extra, there are plenty of tasty toppings to choose from too.

Best ice creams in Swansea. The richness of the flavour is legendary and it's true. The parlour is worth to visit and enjoy this creamy Italian treasure on the Welsh soil. Wow wow and wow. I absolutely love it here. We travel from Aberdare just to come to this restaurant. The attentionnto detail here is amazing, the food and staff are amazing. The staff are so friendly and welcoming even of our loved furry four legged friends. They have water bowls around outside and even have free water and lemon water for the customers. It is more than worth the trip to come here alone for food. Again thank you for yet another amazing visit. See you next week. 😍

Great food, staff were attentive. Lots to choose from. And good value for money. Only negative is the tables aren't big enough for a group
Eira L — Google review
We visited for dinner on Tuesday, and it was just as fantastic as I remembered from last year, if not even better. The atmosphere and location are incredibly relaxing, set right by the sea with a fantastic view. Their spaghetti bolognese is a classic and absolutely worth trying. I was so impressed by it last time that I went home and tried to recreate the recipe, but nothing comes close. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which adds to the charm. And the ice cream, made fresh on site, is absolutely delicious. I’m so glad they make it in house. I suppose my only complaint was that, while we were eating, it would have been nice for the staff to be a bit more attentive. We had our plates stacked on the table for quite a while, and several staff members walked past without clearing them. It was also a little difficult getting service when we needed salt and pepper.
James A — Google review
Delicious icecream but, service wasn't that friendly, didn't even bother to smile at us (not sure if that is just us!) Despite the service the ice cream was fresh as advertised and had an amazing taste. Reducing one star for service, not for food.

Lovely views watching the tide come in. Attentive staff, even the owner walks around talking to people and said hello to us. Seating area outside, the place was packed. BEST ice cream in wales. Delicious. The new Biscoff sundae is out of this world

First time visit to this particular shop as usually call by st Helens road, must say due to being on retail park it is much easier to park ,was served quite quickly staff were very friendly, polite and professional,I had my favourite normal strawberry sundae, and partner had a chocolate marshmallow sundae, daughter had a Oreo ice-cream,also we bought a polystyrene container and had large size to takeaway 😋😋😋🤣 if you've never been to one of Joe's ice cream parlours go +try it you won't be disappointed.❤️💯👌

I went here for a lovely sweet treat after my dinner, and let me tell you it did not disappoint me one bit. Firstly, we went into the shop and it looked busy, however the cue went down so quickly! Then we started ordering and the lady at the counter was so lovely and helpful. She even explained all the sundae items because I was confused. Her name was Ella. And Ella made our ice creams amazingly and her scoops were top tier! It was so nice to enjoy on a hot sunny day will definitely go here again!

Another Joe’s Ice Cream parlour and the goods do not disappoint. Staff are friendly and polite. However, the biggest downfall is parking which is why it gets 4 stars. Nothing wrong with the ice cream, location isn’t ideal. On busy days you will be very lucky to get a parking spot. There is no indoor or outdoor seating and no park benches or the such like nearby. This would mean sitting on the grass, or as we did, opened the boot of the car and sat in there.

Forte's is a charming ice cream shop with amicable staff offering an appealing assortment of homemade frozen treats. Their Coconut and Chocolate Orange flavors are particularly noteworthy. The Coconut Ice Cream is delightful, featuring noticeable shreds of fresh coconut interspersed throughout. On the other hand, the Chocolate Orange Ice Cream diverges from expectations: it resembles an orange sorbet with chocolate fragments, still delicious but not what one might anticipate.
Love this little ice cream cafe. It also sells cakes, hot and cold drinks and breakfasts. Nice friendly staff made me, my wife and our dog most welcome. Can get busy at weekends and when the weather is good. Parking is restricted nearby.

I was walking from Caswell Bay back to Mumbles High Street along the coastal path. I arrived at Forte's around 15:40 and was pleased to find them still open. I popped in and had an ice cream and a coffee. The staff were friendly and welcoming, there was plenty of seating and the place was very clean and tidy. The coffee was lovely and I will definitely return during another walk.

Don’t come here for the coffee, come here for the ice cream and location. Such a shame as well, surely if you had trained baristas you would get more custom, my mum lives round the corner and actually warned me how bad the coffee was , but didn’t think it could be that bad given how expensive it was, she was right and I understand now why she avoids this place for coffee. Have to travel to the next cafe along the coastal path, was really good there! Train your baristas and this will be a 5 star stop 🙂

I took my 3 grandchildren here. One is coeliac and the knowledge of Emily concerning the condition and the products was brilliant. A lovely young woman and delicious pistachio ice cream.

We visited on a rainy day, this is the first time we've visited when a table has been available. They were happy to make me an off menu cheese and pineapple toastie. The side salad was freshly made and dressing free, which I was very happy with :) It is a lovely spot on a rainy day to sit and watch the sea from the window. The staff were very nice, calm and freindly, which overall added to the realaxed atmosphere. We really enjoyed our visit, Thank you 😀

The best place for Vegan ice-cream! Always has at least 2 on offer, ranging from Bounty, Vanilla, Oat Latte through to Sorbets!
Kimberley R — Google review
Not suitable for celiac disease. Staff thought using a clean scoop but getting the ice cream from an already used container was ok. Serious risk of cross contamination. The staff clearly didn't understand

The best icecream and a lovely view! We always work off the icecream treats with a play on the beach after.

Nestled along the picturesque Mumbles seafront, Ripples is a delightful café that offers stunning views of Swansea Bay. This charming spot features both indoor and outdoor seating, allowing guests to soak in the beautiful surroundings while enjoying their meals. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who prioritize customer service. During my visit, I savored a delicious coffee made with soya milk and indulged in a scrumptious scone while basking in the sun outside.
While I don't have a picture of my cappuccino, I can confirm it was made well and tasted fantastic. Sitting outside with a view of the Bay, a coffee and even a scone, it was a wonderful start to a day. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere welcoming and at the same time relaxing. A hidden gem, to be found only when talking a walk along the front (promenade).

Called in with my partner for her to see an old friend. What a lovely place, perfectly situated right on the Mumbles seafront pathway and overlooking the Swansea bay. A nicely laid out place that seems to have a good balance of inside space and an outside seated area too that is edged by a small wall which allows a great view over the bay. AS for the food and drink.. we had coffees while chatting and both were lovely. You can get soya milk here for your coffee if you like. Then just before leaving we sampled the ice cream... made on the premises and what delicious tasting ice cream it is.. two flavours each to have a range of samples and each was a delicious treat. Somewhere that I would highly recommend and a place where I will be returning to. The only negative that I can find is that there is very limited parking and one may need to walk a little to get there. That said.. for those using a wheelchair, it is a flat path along the whole of the front and access to the shop is wheelchair friendly.

Amazing little ice cream shop! This is the best place in Mumbles by far. The ice cream is all made onsite by an Italian family - and the owner is so nice and friendly! Big range of flavours and the best views of the beautiful bay. Prices are reasonable, GO THERE, I can’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic venue, popular, music not too loud, amazing outlook over the Mumbles beachfront. Gelato looks delicious! Just had a latte. Favour of coffee was disappointing, and latte had a very deep froth head. Sadly won't be back, for the coffee.

Three of us called in for coffees whilst cycling. All of us thought the coffee was of good quality but we felt they could have been hotter in temperature.

Simply the best stop in Swansea Bay area. Wonderful ice creams, delicious coffee, attentive staff. Denis is master host. Cycling friendly also. A must to visit

Visited Tuesday and had delicious freshly made ice cream and roasted coffee. Was so good, returned next day for more. Lovely location, lovely staff with great ethos of customer service and friendliness. Would recommend to anyone on holiday in Mumbles or just on a walk or cycle ride along the prom. Great cafe.

Great little ice cream parlour right on the prom. It's a nice walk from Swansea to Mumbles just over halfway. So by the time you get there you'll be wanting a coffee an ice cream of which there is many choices. Relax in the sun and enjoy 🌞👍
