Was in before Christmas and sat in for a while feeding my son. Adam and Katie were the two members of staff on and they were absolutely brilliant with everyone who came through the door. Especially the kids. Incredible customer service.

Lovely staff. Why is nothing priced? For over 2 weeks, No prices on anything, not ice creams, coffees, desserts, sweets or drinks! A staff member offered to print me a price list? A piece of chalk could give many prices on their advertising board! Won't stop me from revisiting as favourite place with friends and grandchildren.

Friendly, pleasant efficient staff. Always busy but quick to get served. Very good range of ice cream, diary free options as well and a nice coffee

Surely the friendliest Mauds around. Delighted to be able to get the vegan version of my favourite Poor Bear at this store. A perfect dairy free treat!

Asian fusion restaurant
Zu Zu is an Asian restaurant that offers a variety of Chinese dishes. Customers have expressed their satisfaction with the food quality, prompt delivery, and generous portions. Some diners particularly enjoyed the Hanoi duck and ichiban dishes. The restaurant has received praise for its friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. While some minor issues were reported, such as forgotten items in orders and the preference for warmer plates, overall, many patrons are pleased with their dining experiences at Zu Zu.
I'm VERY particular about ordered food, having come through a recent serious campylobacter ( food poisoning ) infection from another shop's takeaway menu. I have absolutely no qualms about ordering from ZuZu, though. EVERY order that I've made from ZuZu has been hot, delicious and more than plentiful. They offer three container sizes for your takeaway, all less than £10 and quite honestly, every time that I buy, I'm torn, between keeping eating, and discarding that which I can't eat when I'm too full. What a nice problem. The establishment is clean, service quick and it does have a sit-down area although I would guess that most of their trade is take-away. Still, I've never been disappointed yet - it's my number one go to for asian food and I confidently predict that it will always be. UK Food Standards Agency Rating - 5 stars.
Derek M — Google review
Lovely food we really enjoyed our dishes and Justin's service was great. 1 Negative: absolutely "baltic" as cold evening and no radiators on despite asking TWICE for them to be put on. We all ended up sniffles next day and my feet were like blocks of ice. Also not good for my friend who is a regular customer with a bad chest. Heaters need on in a sit in restaurant!
Laura S — Google review
I have often ordered from Zuzu (takeaway), and the food is generally very nice and arrives reasonably hot. Unfortunately, on the last two occasions, the food has arrived cold. Most recently, my salt and chilli chips and spring rolls tasted as though they had been reheated from the previous day—or perhaps not heated at all—as they were stone cold and bland. This was very disappointing, especially considering the premium prices.
Sunset C — Google review
Honestly they're great quality...but the prices are ridiculous now. Higher than any other local takeaway that I am aware of. £16.50 for a large munchy box lol no thanks, especially when the quality isn't the same.
Robert F — Google review
Sat in the restaurant based on the online reviews only to find that they don't have black pepper, chilli flakes, sauces if you're to add additional seasoning. The service for sit-in is the worst I've experienced in the whole of Northern Ireland. After waiting an 1 hour and 20 minutes we learned that the order placed almost the same time ago wasn't even started for cooking so after a long wait we left cancelling our main course. I was very glad to have the main course cancelled. Veg Spring rolls were better than the rest of the starters. Definitely NOT recommended.
Nilesh G — Google review
Ordered 2 meals, one didn't have the side. Phoned and was told I'd have to pay for it to be delivered! Been using then for years but never again.
Colin J — Google review
Great food at very good prices, you can sit in or have a takeaway. The customer toilets was very clean. The restaurant was spotless. We had a variety of food and it all was good. Portion sizes was very big. Staff are very pleasant would definitely eat here again.

The staff at this location are known for their politeness and efficiency, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Many patrons have enjoyed the flavorful curries crafted from fresh ingredients, claiming it to be one of the best curry houses around.
Undoubtedly the best curry house in the area! Have been eating curry for 30 years in London, Norwich and Brighton.. the food at Spice Merchant is top class with fresh ingredients. Highly recommended... Repeat customer here! Delivers to Whitehead no problem and the delivery people are wonderful!
London N — Google review
Can't fault the guys at the counter, but the food, which is usually very nice, was absolutely terrible today. King Prawn kebab had about 3 small prawns with a horrible sauce and about a pound of onions. Chicken Dansak was bitter and had no pineapple. I very much doubt that the monkfish tandoori contained anything other than cod or whiting. Won't be back as I just wasted 30 quid and want to be sure their standard has come back up again!
Nigel K — Google review
We had ordered from Jordanstown Spice Merchant before but didn’t realise it was the same menu in Eden Carrickfergus. The food was delicious and the chicken dishes we ordered were pure white chicken and of the best quality. Very good value for money as portion sizes very generous. The member of staff who served me in the Eden shop was very polite, friendly and efficient. We will definitely order again. Thank you
Melissa W — Google review
Amazing customer service and food. Simple mistake made with a mixup in the type of nann bread we received but we had a replacement delivered to us free of charge and poppadoms given as an apology. Food was great quality and I was very impressed with customer service. Will definitely be returning.

Diners rave about the crispy vegetables and standout options like Chicken Cashew Nut and King Prawn Pad Thai, which cater to both spice lovers and those who prefer milder flavors. The Spring Rolls make for a perfect starter!
The food is amazing from here. So fresh and full of flavour, my brother absolutely loves this place and kept saying to try it, so we did and will be our new go to if we fancy a take away, the owners are so nice and friendly and always ready for a chat, food cooked in front of you and if you get delivery over the weekend it will arrive quickly and piping hot! If you haven’t tried it then you got to!

One of the nice places for thai food in Northern Ireland, there is literally nothing like this so authentic and the pricing is worth it, thai green is my favorite and we ones love the wings so do I, the 2 owners a man form south Africa and his wife who is thai, are some of the kindest people I know know. err cooking is London level in my opinion
John Q — Google review
I called in for food last night and ordered a bottle of water which the owner very kindly gave me for free not many businesses would show kindness like that nowadays. Always great food and great atmosphere ❤️
Ellie R — Google review
We were recommended by word of mouth and couldn't actually believe how delicious the food is here. we were able to watch the food get prepared and the owner was super friendly. Nicest Thai i have tried in NI and worth visiting. As you can see from the photo it looks unreal.

Best Thai food in the whole of Ireland, always helpful and nothing is too much to ask for.

The pork red Thai curry and the pad Thai noodles are delicious. The little take away is very welcoming and staff are lovely. They are more than happy to make suggestions or give advice, if customers need a little help choosing or are trying the food for the first time. Happy to recommend to others.
John N — Google review
Absolutely beautiful, I've always been scared to try thai food as I always though it was gonna be spicy this is not the case. I had the chicken noodles veg and cashew nuts the flavor was unreal the hubby got the king prawn pad Thai and he was really impressed just sorry took us so long to order from here will definitely be ordering again 1 more bonus 99% of the menu is gluten free. Thanks again for a gorgeous meal.
Elaine W — Google review
Just finished my first meal which was Chicken Red Curry and a Chicken chilli and broccoli special. It was absolutely fantastic- so much flavour. Just beautiful. The owners are super friendly and gave us complimentary prawn crackers. Highly recommended, we will be back definitely!!!

The Clock Tower Cafe is in a great spot. It has great tea and coffee choices, nice comfortable indoor seating, lots of outdoor seating. It serves sweet and savoury treats, ice cream and hot and cold beverages. A nice break after a stroll along the promenade. Also at £4 for a decaf latte and a pot of tea ... it's very reasonably priced.

Staff were lovely, helpful when having to change cups due to small handle and my myopathy. Food was delicious home made coleslaw to die for. We will be popping in again
Barbara S — Google review
Excellent afternoon tea! We were hoping for some afternoon tea after visiting the castle and this restaurant popped up on Google reviews. The owners whipped up the most amazing high tea in ten minutes, even though we didn't have a reservation and they usually require one. Cannot recommend the berry scone enough- seriously, this scone haunts my dreams- THE BEST SCONE we've ever had! All the little sandwiches and wraps were yummy and the other treats were delicious. We were so full after tea that we didn't even need dinner, lol. The owners were so kind and friendly. So inexpensive for top notch food. THANK YOU!

Wow best eating place I’ve been to food is delicious staff very friendly and hardly any waiting for my food vegetarian kebab was out of this world can’t rate this place highly enough
Jay D — Google review
I don't usually review but after what I received I feel I had to. £10.80 for this and my hand was bigger than it! Last time I ordered from here I got a doner meat on chips and it was huge, almost enough for two people so we went for a chicken kebab on pitta and was bitterly disappointed! Don't see how you can charge over a tenner for this we got about 4 bites it was appalling for the price...
Gareth N — Google review
The Moghul is a favourite, absolutely fantastic food. My favourite is Dopiaza, Bhuna and Balti. I cannot fault the food quality! The food is amazing and the price is excellent (good portions).
Keith C — Google review
Got a chicken pakora on chips tonight. The last time I was there it cost me ,£8.00 something tonight a month or two later I was charged £13.00 for the same meal. I asked the young lady behind the counter is this price correct and she looked at me and said chicken pakora on chips is £13.00. I can't believe this price increase and therefore will not be returning I'm afraid.
Andy S — Google review
Ordered kebab. Arrived on time. But was disgusting. Totally tomato, sorry totally bad tomato based. I think someone tried to mix Greek and Turkish. Failed. All in the bin, made toast.
Neil C — Google review
Order 2x chips gravy tub, curry tub and a mixed kebab waited over a hour for the food whats not a problem. The problem the food is ice cold the chips have zero heat and are soggy the tubs of gravy and curry are ice cold and all the the mean in the kebab was cold to the touch waste of £28
Aston A — Google review
Absolutely rotten food. £26 quid for two kebabs supposed to be mixed shwarma, nothing shwarma about it apart from the tonnes of kebab meat stuck on it to disguise the lack of "steak and chicken". Said delivery was zero then the guy hit me with £2.70 for delivery at the door. Won't let me upload a photo on this review

This charming spot offers an array of freshly baked goods at incredibly low prices, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area. The cafe is particularly famous for its scrumptious sausage rolls and hearty Irish stew, both of which have garnered rave reviews from patrons.
Visiting Carrickfergus: Really enjoyed this breakfast cafe/bakery. Staff very friendly, like the rest of this island, salt of the earth warm and friendly. Ordered large fry... Wow, large. Premises is cash only, ATM down the street but cafe insisted I order and eat. Very trusting and extremely friendly. Can't wait to come back.
OMac T — Google review
We used to love Delacys. Great value, delicious food and good service. However the past few years they have really gone downhill. They catered an event, got the order majorly wrong (especially given the remit we discussed for the party.) We gave them the benefit of the doubt and used them again, explaining they had got it wrong before but we were cutting them slack. Once again missed half the order for the second party. I presumed it was an issue with their catering set up but the bakery/cafe would still be good. We went back today and I ordered stew. It had was pure white with flecks of orange and maybe two dots of brown. It appeared to be a glorified bowl of mashed potato, with no stock, and a token dot of meat and carrot. When we took out my son's bun for dessert, there was a hair (definitely present in the newly opened box and not ours!)🤢 I definitely won't be using them again. Poor service and now also poor food!
Erin D — Google review
Delacys cafe is safe enough for you to go there alone and the staff is nice and kind and the price is very very very low and Delacys cafe is like a bakery and the stew is very very very good and yummy and the sausage rolls are very very very good and yummy even my frog loves the sausage rolls you can tell because he was eating one of the sausage rolls in our car in one of our photos and the scones are very very very good and yummy and the potatoes are very very very good and yummy and the value is great and Delacys cafe can only take cash
Robyn B — Google review
Haven't used this bakery in years. The last time I did I received a blue moulded apple square. Bought a soda this morning. Felt like a brick when handed to me. Could barely cut through it when I got it home. Completely stale. I bought this item early in the morning. Definitely not made that day and I doubt if it was even yesterday's. Sometimes you can appreciate why the high street is dieing when this is the quality of goods being served up 😬

Great place to go for a breakfast fry. Their takeaway afternoon teas have a great selection and are very reasonable.
Liz K — Google review
The Staff and the Young boy that sometimes works there doesn’t heat the sausage rolls properly.

This place has the most amazing bakes. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. It's hard to choose what to get as everything looks (and tastes) amazing. My particular favourite is the apple crumble blondie but we've tried the brownies, cookie pies and melting pots and all are quality home baked goodies. They also deliver at the weekends!

We absolutely fell in love with Tweedie Pies in Whitehead! From the very first visit, it felt like we’d stumbled into something truly special. The little shop is full of charm, warmth, and the most heavenly smells. But what really made it unforgettable—besides those life-changing spiced mince thingys—was the kindness of the baker. Every time we popped in (which turned into a daily tradition!), the baker greeted us with a smile and a little something new to try. Whether it was a warm bite of pie fresh from the oven or a sample of something sweet and experimental, it felt like a treat just for us. That kind of generosity and enthusiasm for sharing their craft made us feel so welcome, like regulars even though we were just visiting. And yes—those spiced mince thingys. We can’t rave enough. Perfectly golden pastry, deeply savoury filling, just the right amount of spice… honestly, we’re still dreaming about them. One taste and we were hooked. We came for a quick bite and left with full bellies, big smiles, and a genuine connection to a place we’ll never forget. Tweedie Pies is the kind of spot that makes you wish you lived around the corner. We already can’t wait to go back.

Best home bakery in northern ireland. Serve good selection of sweet and savoury food. Pies sausage rolls traybakes cakes, scones, and bread. Fab staff, very clean shop and great craic from the many locals who are regulars. Highly recommend this wee hidden treasure.

Sausage rolls...yum yum....However, whilst I used to have a weekly treat of one of theses at breakfast time, prices have risen to £1.75 each...too expensive for me!!!! I seem to remember that not too long ago, they were priced at £1 each...I also understand why price increases occur. Needless to say, I cannot see myself returning....nor recommending Tweedie Pies to numerous tourists.

A 1 hour and a half round trip is a small price to pay for the best bakery around even handing out free samples of curry sausage rolls in the queue today Bakerys of this quality are rare in this day and age I just wished I lived in whitehead

We visited after just landing in Belfast. The potato bread was amazing. And staff so friendly. Really enjoyed it here.

The best bakery around by far. Should it be buns , fresh cream buns , cakes , pies , daily made sausage rolls , black pudding scotch eggs , swiss rolls filled rolls , sandwiches, stew , soup custard tarts , baps or the Saturday morning fry i guarantee you wont be let down. I highly recommend you check out this gem when youre next in Whitehead. Keep an eye out for his fully packed pork and tomato pies!!

After walking to the lighthouse, we stopped by for lunch. A great bakery with big selection. The stew was absolutely amazing. And looking forward to eating the apple crumble tonight! Owner was very friendly offering us sweet samples to try!
