The 35 best shopping and stores in Carrickfergus

The Store Layout is rubbish. I hate shopping in Tesco now. It just does not flow right. The freezers and chillers should be at the tills. The only way to logically shop is anticlockwise to end at freezer chillers. Add in the fact that Cards and Flowers / Gifts should all be together. Not opposite ends of the store. The old store layout was better as you actually went round more Aisles now there are dead zones where very few people venture making purchases and footfall from those aisles likely lower. A rejig defo needed because ease of shopping and flow trumps analytics. If you want to keep customers coming back you got keep them happy. This layout does not.

Did you pick the new aisle order out of a hat? There's absolutely no order to the store at the minute. The signs at the end of aisles don't help. Some aisles can only fit one trolley at a time. I advise people go to sainsburys instead.

Normally easy enough to find your desired item of purchase, and prices aren't too bad. Regularly stores items for that time of year for eg. School clothes, Halloween stuff, Christmas stuff, etc etc. Staff are friendly and can help direct you to anything you are looking for. The store also includes a specsavers area, a small upstairs café, toilet facilities and a bakery area, and an area where you can print off photos. Overall I would give the shop a 4.6/5 rating.

The best tesco in Carrick. Lots of room walking round and very well stocked shelves. I can absolutely recommend the large Jaffa oranges. They firm but yet ripe and soft inside, the sweetest, juiciest oranges I've tasted in a long time in fact since I worked on a farm in Israel 20 years ago. The staff are exceptionally helpful especially Lisa in the fruit department.

Great staff. Great prices usually always busy unless you shop midweek. Great selection of household items and clothes and of course groceries. Staff are always very courteous and helpful.

They have installed £1 coin onto trolleys, yet they will not supply any plastic coin to use when at the store. Most people don’t carry cash these days! When asking about the plastic coin, I was told to buy some scratch cards and he will add a £1 cashback! Seriously. Carrickfergus get a grip of your store, worst Tesco I have ever been in.

VERY VERY bad customer service. We had bought a curtain and it was not the right size. I had the receipt also to return it. They insisted they cannot take it back for no obvious reason … You will lose your customers with such a BAD service. I will return it to another Tesco

Quite well-stocked shop, fast and efficient service

I've been to alot of shops but poundland in carrickfergus is by far the worst. Where to start? The shelves are constantly having gaps. Nothing ever seems to be tidied. The shop is just a mix and match half the time. The vape oils are all over the show. The fridges are a mess even early in the morning. You never see any staff on the floor unless it's coming to closing time. Only good thing I've seen is the staff on tills

I find poundland in carrickfergus to be an excellent store. Its prices CANNOT be beaten. The staff are the friendliest people I know. The staff are always on hand to assist with any query or product I may be looking for and I always get a friendly chat. They REALLY do care about their customers. Brilliant shop and brilliant staff. Everytime im in the shop, thers never bags its always the £1 bags. And i mean everytime, yes you do get bargains but come on £1 for a bag, ur having a laugh. Wont be buying too much in it from now 0n

Because this place is a litter bit out of the way, people think its not worth the while to walk a few extra steps. But boy are they are missing out on a great shop, go on give it a try. Geoff.

We had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant with beautiful views overlooking the Harbour. The white New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc was crisp and refreshing—an excellent pairing for my perfectly baked halibut. My partner had the short ribs and raved about how tender and flavourful they were. The dessert menu offered plenty of tempting options; we shared the Neapolitan sliders and the meringue dessert—both were delicious and beautifully presented. A great spot for a memorable meal with both stunning scenery and standout food.

Food was beautiful, really enjoyed our meal. The creamy chicken was so tasty, 10/10. Food was a little slow coming out but it was worth the wait. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back!

My husband and myself went today, first time and I can honestly say the service and food was top notch. We got lobster and prawns and fish and chips. My husband loved the lobster and my fish was done in a light batter, it was delicious, will definitely return.

Just had a lovely meal, nice menu with all the usuals but also plenty of fish and choice seafood such as lobster and crab Service was excellent, food was really delicious and good portions size Cocktails were great and the singer after dinner was good. Nice to see the Windrose back

Hi all I will always give a honest opinion and point out some minor faults Saturday night myself and two others arrived around 7pm no bookings required just turn up, 5min wait to your table very quick , Remember your seated outside so all foods and beverages is brought out you. Good points Food was tremendous hot not over cooked loved it . The batter on the fish was perfect and not greasy like other places ☺️👍 was just enough ,my two college 👍 Drinks Nice pint went down a treat Bad point Waited 20-30 mins for drinks a few cross wires on who was bringing them to you so didn't arrive together 😞 did notice a few time others that were in after us were served drinks before you .worth sorting out the little snags Finally All in all had a lovely night out and would recommend the Wind rose to everyone 👍😀

went for dinner and got the lasagne with chips and honestly it was disgusting, it looked like tomato soup with a lump of cheese in it. the food is very poor it did not look like lasagne at all, it was more like a cheap ready meal. The service from staff was not great when ordering food the staff member was very abrupt and rude. The toilets in the place have no doors/locks on them and the water is boiling which is definitely not suitable for children.

Good and well priced food with a good selection of drinks. Nice view over part of the harbour from the outside seating. Very convenient if you're arround the area or staying at the premier inn next door.

A handy place to meet up for a bite to eat and a quick drink. Menu selection was good with staff willing to work with us on small changes. Staff were very friendly and approachable, waiting time once food was ordered was minimal. Overall, very pleased and I will return.

The value for money is outstanding! I mean an evening main meal Monday to Friday for a fiver👏🏻 A great place for a family on a budget to relax and have an evening out for a special occasion. Well Done Brewers Fayre.

Table of 4 in for Sunday carvery at 2pm (carvery is serving until 6pm). By this stage they have ran out of all meat apart from gamon and most sides were cold or missing. Each pina colada we got had different measures and did not look the same, very little consistency. Man on the bar lost his till card every time we went up to order so each order took a while....

Kirsty and Sarah are amazing, always Making sure you have everything you need . Most importantly for my family they show inclusion for our asd children and make sure their needs are met .Great place for families.

We booked for Sunday dinner, staff were friendly helpful. Even when we ordered food, had to order smaller size of fish and chips they accommodated it. Food amazing, good value for money. Second time here. Car park facing ownies free after 6pm and all day sunday.

Love the atmosphere of Ownies and service was great, we hadn't booked and it was no issue at all. Staff incredibly friendly. The vegan burger is very mushy texture wise and I couldn't finish it unfortunately. The chips were delicious. Would still come back to try the vegan lasagna however.

A varied menu with reasonable prices. Food quality is excellent. Because of this, the restaurant part of this establishment gets filled pretty quickly at dinner time - better book your table before heading over to this pub. If you are willing to pass the time over a pint before your meal, there are plenty of seats at the bar area. The decor and the atmosphere are similar to the Belfast venues Ben Madigan's and the Benedicts sans the loud music in the latter.

We have been to ownies a few times. Like how the vegetarian chips etc is cooked in separate fryers from the fish/ meat. Food was tasty, although the burger bap was processed. Creme brulee was a bit of a mess. Was just like a massive bowl of custard, wasn't 'crispy' on top like it should be. Dog friendly which is fab, although they aren't allowed upstairs only downstairs which is a shame as a different menu. Would I go back? Yes off course!

Had lunch there today. My friend ordered a chicken burger - cut it in half and it was pink and raw in middle. We sent it back. They brought out another one and halfway through eating it discovered it was bloody. Told waitress who informed us that chef had checked temperature on it and it would be safe to eat. Needless to say my friend didn’t eat it as she’d lost her appetite. To add insult to injury they made us pay for the burger only knocking fifteen percent off bill. My friend couldn’t eat her burger! Unless you want salmonella avoid avoid avoid!!

Only had food and drink. But looked like good Craic (fun) in the evening too. Food and drink were lovely. Staff were so nice. That N Ireland charm is strong here. I Would definitely go again.

It was my first time at Josh Macs, and the food was great. We had the Chicken Stack and the Old Mac sizzler. Good service was excellent, and the place had a nice atmosphere!

Had to repost, due to it not showing up on the reviews, why?!!! Don't know, maybe too many stars, 😉 Relaxing time, as called in for a meal with my wife, we were seated, and offered the menu, and asked if we would like to order some beverages. Really courteous and polite.My wife ordered the mocka, or fake cocktail, myself a coke with blackcurrant, really refreshing. For the mains, a Caesar salad , and the chicken stack with BBQ sauce. Both delicious, and tender pieces of chicken. The salad had square potatoes and maple bacon included. Really filling and well satisfying. As we visit a quite a few times, we are never disappointed. The menu has a lot to offer, and worth a visit.

We really enjoyed the food we chose. Plenty of flavour and plenty of food. The lady who took our order was warm and friendly and attentive. We'll be back.

Really pity about this place. Been a while back and food wasn't great, met friend here again and the food looked great, what a disappointment. The grease was just too much. Lovely chicken wrapped destroyed by deep fired battered chicken that the grease was still oozing from the batter and the garlic fries was just garlic butter put on top of what looked and tasted like 2nd time in the frier that there was little to no potato in the fries just pots of grease, couldn't eat them and left most of the wrap too. Coleslaw was good, service was excellent, food big let down.

Lovely staff. Why is nothing priced? For over 2 weeks, No prices on anything, not ice creams, coffees, desserts, sweets or drinks! A staff member offered to print me a price list? A piece of chalk could give many prices on their advertising board! Won't stop me from revisiting as favourite place with friends and grandchildren.

Queue was almost out the door! Tried the chocolate honeycomb ice cream for the first time. Amazing. Had my eye on the desserts on and chocolates too.

Place is a hone now toilets have been closed for mths with a sign saying out of order… but the man who is a guess looking after the pace says they are closed as the school kids will rack them … Altho it’s been the summer holidays and they are still permanently closed … seems like they can’t be bothered to clean them … I’m not they only one who thinks this … needs a good clean everywhere anyway .. the place is dirty the floors look like they have been cleaned right is mths … baby changing is always locked … it’s an actual joke .. not impressed at all

Not a bad little shopping centre. It has a reasonable range of shops. However in recent months the maintenance hasn't been keep up.

To be absolutely fair, its a dump got. Outside is stinking and not much better inside. Defo needs some loving care.

Empty units, paid parking. Only a few shops in the place, on the plus side it does have a Home Bargains but it's only open to 6pm Monday-Wednesday & a Sat then late night Thursday Friday but the public toilets close early

My chicken was comically dry but the gravy made up for it ten fold! Service was top notch and the chips were otherworldly. Would definitely dine again.

Fantastic experience at Papa Browns in Carrick! The food was delicious and full of flavour, but the highlight was the service. Clair was incredibly helpful, friendly, and made sure everything was spot on. Can’t recommend this place enough – I’ll definitely be back!

Food was OK, nobody was 'wowed' and we wouldn't hurry back for a while, but we will return, we always do! Portions were too big, if that can be a complaint! Burgers were impossible to lift and eat. Mixed grill was poor - medium steak came well done and very tough and chewy, even though it was a thing slice, most of it was left, pork sausage was poor also. Deserts were good as was the service.

Took this place in in passing for the first time last week and really loved it. The decor is fine, nothing special but it's a nice enough place to sit, the booths are nice and there is a decent amount of space and comfort. The staff were mostly on the younger side and both helpful and friendly, so it is a pleasure to visit. As for the food itself it was great and a real standout. I got the chicken burger and it was simply one of the best Ive had in a while. Looking forward to calling back in here when next out that way!

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the team at Pappa Brown's who hosted 1st Greenisland Cub Scouts as we celebrated the children's hard earned Chief Scout Silver Awards. The manager and servers were very accommodating and the children had a lovely time. They certainly enjoyed their desserts. Many thanks 😊

Hadn't been here in years, yet decided to go for a meal, as heard it had changed. My wife ordered the fish and chips, it came with garden peas, as she would have preferred mushy, myself ordered the ribs with chicken, which was served with a side of chips or french fries, it also had coleslaw and sauce, and corn on the cob. The ribs were really fatty, and a bit chewy on some, even though there was not as many as I anticipated. The chicken was coated a light batter, not as tender as expected. Onion rings were ok, I know I'm sounding like a critic but you want to hear about the experience, but it was still enjoyable, if it makes sense, but not as what it was years ago. The wife's fish, wasn't straight from the sea experience, as was probably from the fridge or freezer, but still she enjoyed it. Not as good as it was, but hopefully it will be.

On a welding job in carric we found a spoons as everyone knows the prices are cheap the food it's self is ok but it's not served hot but here it's was surprisingly good compared to most , see pics ,

Visited Sunday evening. Some items on the menu and some tap beers at the bar were not available. What was available, was prepared or poured correctly. Prices are still keen, albeit after the covid lockdowns the menu has become less interesting: some Asian additions and some European removals. The Gourmet Steak meal is greatly missed. Working hours are being quietly shortened: the food used to be available until 11 pm, now if you walk in after 9:30pm, you chance a partial or complete unavailability of menu choices.

Very good place to visit. Well situated on the Antrim coast road at Carrickfergus. Lovely views of the sea and castle from the upstairs room. Good selection of real ales and drinks with a very good food menu served by helpful and friendly staff. We enjoyed a really nice curry there last week. Nice surroundings with the castle and harbour to visit, coastal walks and some interesting shops. Would suit family groups. Strongly recommend.

The staff at Witherspoons Carrickfergus are great, but unfortunately, the food has gone downhill fast, from being alright to quite bad. I used to look forward to going there for breakfast every day, especially since I suffer from critical heart failure and it's one of the few opportunities I have to get out of the house

Well run Wetherspoons.Fast service even though it was very busy.

While others are fighting for the top spot there is some competition for the worst chippie in Northern Ireland. You'd be excused to probably believe a place in Carrickfergus could make chips but no, these are what I can only class as minging. Stuck together sweaty oily mess. A mere smattering of them too alongside 2 dried up sausages that look like they've been out all day. £7+ for this???? Should be utterly ashamed. Avoid like a thing you'd not want to be near.

Ian and his team are really great.. the food is of a really high standard and tasty. The staff always greet you with a smile. When ordering over the phone they are pretty sharp on their timings highly recommended.

Got a Saugage Supper this evening. The sausages were fine but the chips were totally rubbish. Sadly gone down hill since the last times I got from here :( It use to be of a consistent high quality.

Disappointed with the food. Chicken goujons with barely any chicken in them. Surrounded by hard batter. Two of the goujons I could have used a hammer to open up and eat. Overdone unpleasant.

Victoria Hot Spot is always an excellent meal ! Food is always fantastic and they are always nice and quick with the service !

Given that the Hot Spot has about 8 staff and the place is always rammed with people will speak a thousand words on the quality of their food. I'm nearly 100% positive you will not be able to find anything here that's not really nice. Try the pastie bap, epic 👌

Nice place right by the ocean and the castle. There is lots of parking nearby and it’s easy to get to. The menu is simple but has something for everyone. We stopped in on vacation and were served quickly by friendly staff.

Could not recommend enough. Rumours gave us Soup and a Panini. They were both piping hot and just what we needed for a cold Monday afternoon. Service was friendly and attentive.

Always good to go to the glasshouse in Carrickfergus. Food lovely, Jordan the server works so hard very pleasant manner and very attentive. Jordan needs promoted. a pleasure to come to the glasshouse for calmness and spacious surroundings. Thankfully no background music that you have to shout over. Thats why I love coming here.

We are a group of friends that meet for coffee, lunch, dinner, theatre trips etc and this week had the misfortune to have lunch in glasshouse bistro. Staff are fine, meals are just adequate but our experience this Wednesday was unbelievable. We had mostly finished when one of our number found a thin grey slug like creature crawling up her water glass. We called the member of staff who removed glass and replaced and seemed quite uncomfortable - we were then dealt with by manager/owner who basically said it wasn’t from the salad as everything is washed! The feeling was that we were disbelieved! No reduction or replacement was offered - to be honest no one wanted more food anyhow and discount was the last thing on our mind although in the end one was reluctantly given to the person on whose glass the slug was found, 50% ‘as you ate half your meal’. I held back, eventually going to the counter to pay and reiterating to the cashier that we wouldn't be back. Clearly they didnt care. I pointed out that I conduct external quality assurance for a number of awarding bodies/qualifications. I dont deal with catering qualifications but I do deal with customer service ones and am always looking for examples of both good and bad customer service that tutors can use with students, mature and young people, employees and college students. So congratulations Glasshouse - your response to our situation will now become both a case study and a discussion point - anonymised of course (but how many small privately run cafes are there in tourist facilities in Carrickfergus) - of how not to deal with a bunch of feisty retired ladies with reasonable disposable income who find a 5cm grey slug on one of their water glasses! The owner/manager clearly was not interested either when dealing with the individual concerned or when sitting drinking coffee, listening to my confirmation that we will not be back - the cashier suggested I went up to her and spoke! Sorry - I am not standing in front of a seated, disinterested manager, wasting my time when we were the customers - remember them? We essentially keep your business going with our custom. No longer at the glasshouse I am afraid

I recently went for lunch with a elderly member of my family . The staff were very rude there was a young girl serving at all tables she was ignorant to everyone she served . We waited 30 mins to be served when we were we then waited a long period of time to get tea / coffee and our lunch . This upset my elderly aunt as she could understand what was going on as she’s not used to being treated like this going out for lunch I was discussed . The was also a very bad atmosphere between staff Wouldn’t recommend it

Friendly staff very helpful and it's a very relaxing place to enjoy the meals on offer. The meals are beautifully cooked and there is a wide selection to choose from.

It used to be OK but in the last couple of months it's got very poor, I stopped buying from them but tried ordering from the place again just to see if they'd improve, unfortunately not the food is slop, you're paying more now for less quality, I ended up throwing most of the chips in the bin and the burgers weren't finished by all three of us as they were quite bad. Won't be ordering again, deleting the app now, unfortunately it's are local but they are really slow delivering and the standards are gone and poor, they need to work on improving but I've given the place a chance and that's me finished.

We get out of the friary regularly and it's always delicious! But tonight the chips were greasy and so disappointing to other times...the gluten free scampi was also disappointing...chewy prawns and so much batter. This is the first negative experience I've had. I will try them again as I said the food is normally 100% not sure why the chips were poor...hardly ate it. I hope it picks up again as we love here.

Their standards have dropped a lot recently, I Urge a health inspector to inspect this place urgently. As 3 times now I have found bugs in my food. Wouldn't order here again.

What a joke got a fish and my iPhone is actually bigger than the size of the fish in the box , also asked for curry sauce they gave mushy peas , did realise till I. Had walked all the way home , what a joke .

Surprising ended up being quite good. Couldn't hear what the guy said behind the screen as he was a) behind a screen and b) music was too loud. He also ignored all the meal deals and tried to charge me £9 more than he needed to. Final negative... He said it would be 15 minutes and it was more like 25. However, the pizzas were delicious... Especially the vegan one. I think in future deffo buy online on the app. They were flat out in there but in the 35 mins I was in the store apart from delivery drivers I was the only customer, yet the orders kept rolling in and pizza after pizza was being made. I had a look at the app, looks easy to use and easy to sort the deals. Delivery fee looks reasonable too.

Was in yesterday (Sunday) to pick up some Pizza and Sides. We were a bit confused as to what to get as I was the 1st time calling in for pick up. The boy at the counter (Curtis) was so friendly and helpful that he made a simple thing as getting pizza a lovely experience. Another point of note was that the place was super clean despite orders flying in. 4 star definitely earned that 5 star hygiene rating. 👍🏼 Will be back soon 😊

Hand made, from fresh ingredients, with care and pride, right in front of you. Perfect and consistent EVERY time. Service, quality, prices are second to none. Cannot recommend enough! If you want good, hot, fresh and decently priced take away, look no further.

We order the 14” mega deal from the Carrickfergus branch regularly. We get a 14” pizza, chicken goujons, curly fries & garlic pizza bread. We add a 7” plain ham for one of our fussy kids lol. Today we ordered a 7” pepperoni and asked for it to be well done. The young girl (Abbie) taking the phone order was very pleasant and helpful. She kindly suggested a thin base. Great customer service!

Very positive experience. The shop was well stocked with shelves mainly full. It bucks the trend for Sainsbury stores which mainly seem to have half empty shelves.

There is a large carpark with disabled and parent parking. The store is all on one level with wide aisles. Sadly the cafeteria is now closed. They have more self checkouts. Ordered a special chop suey. Thinking I was going to get the chop suey sauce. But no. Bbq sauce is what came. Dissuaded. Not good. It was not nice. Never order again

All sauces have changed, prices are far too expensive for the quantity and quality of food you get. No flavour in gravy, the honey chilli sauce is like sweet vinegar, the curry is okay but also quite flavourless. Fried rice is like a mixture between mushy boiled rice with a touch of soy sauce. Starters are nearly £7, ribs are freezing with no taste. Never again, worst Chinese about.

Waited for over 1hour 20mins on a gravy chip. Phoned to ask why it took so long and was told 'were not the cookers' what kind of apology is that? Food used to be lovely but now it's took a major dive.

Parked up at Carrick castle car park in the motorhome, we decided to get pizza as we always like to support local businesses at any town we stay over. Read the reviews of "Simply pizza" and that was the one. Called in to order, really friendly staff. They were so busy, phone call after phone call. They are also well staffed and took my order right away. Told me it will be 30 mins. Come back 30 mins later and my pizza was just being took out of the pizza oven. Never seen a "20 pizza before and it looked so good. Back to motorhome and my family and I loved every bit of it. We got the Mr. Meaty and even my son who has autism and is really picky what he will eat want to try it cos of the size of the pizza. " We had to tell him it was just pepperoni" after he tried it, he wants a 2nd slice. We was shocked and happy as it so hard to get him to try new things. One of the best pizzas I have had and I have tried pizza from a lot of towns all over NI. would 100% be in my top 3, if not top 2!. If you have not tried simply pizza, do so and U will not be sorry.

Myself and my family are regular customers of this place. Simply is usually lovely, possibly the best in Carrickfergus. Although we got an order for 3 12 inch pizzas and a 9 inch. When we received the order, some of the pizzas had hardly any cheese. While eating the food there was a terrible taste especially of the dough, it tasted like it was going off. This is unusual for simply. Pizzas weren't enjoyed and felt like a waste of £35 as all 4 pizzas tasted terrible. Everyone is feeling a bit sick after the food we ate. Again a regular customer for over 20 years, disappointed.

So been ordering from same pizza place for many years but couple weeks back I decided to go with Simply Pizza & never looked back. I got a thing for mushrooms nothing weird I just love eating them, my previous pizza place when paying like £4 more for extra extra extra mushrooms then receiving one extra shroom on my pizza cut into absolutely nothing this is obviously not the case with simply pizza not only was my pizza £9 cheaper but it was also littered with mushrooms 🤩🤤 and fresh mushrooms not ingredients delivered vacuumed packed to the premises. This is what pizza should be THANK YOU Simply Pizza for making the simple absolutely extraordinary 😊

I asked for a veggie deluxe with no Mozzarella (just goat's cheese) and to my surprise it still looked so appetising ! Sometimes pizzas can be burnt without lots of cheese on but no, it was just right. Nice staff too.

Had an amazing mixed meat chow mein a couple of months ago, so was very disappointed with the mixed meat chow mein I ordered last night. No chicken, pork nor prawns just beef. Also just two bits of green pepper. Also ordered mixed meat curry...... very bland. Not happy!

A friend recommended me to go to this restaurant. I'm from Belfast. My friend is from London and I asked her to come with me. My friend in London said that we have the best Chinese restaurants in London, so we went and my friend and I were blown away with the food, the service and the ambience of the place. If I could give this a 0 I would Absolutely disgusting it was freezing sauces were like water beef wasn't even cooked and the prawns 🤢 £35 and had to go straight in the bin rang to complain and they had a cheek to say they pre cook there beef they would send fresh stuff no thanks will not be back 🤬

I rarely rate places on Google, but this place deserves it: My friends and I are from Germany and came over to explore Belfast and it's surroundings (Carrickfergus is a neat little place and the castle is so cool!). We found this restaurant after visiting the castle and having a walk and we loved everything about it! The hospitality, the taste of the food and the choices on the buffet! Definitely worth a visit!

My wife and I had lunch today . We were greeted politely and promptly by Dean, (waiter). Although we had not made a booking, we were shown directly to our seats. Our drinks orders were taken and we were given the (very extensive) menus. Our drinks were served, and food orders taken. The restaurant was reasonably busy, but the staff were coping extremely professionally. Our food order was served. The food was very well presented, hot and flavoursome. The staff were attentive throughout our visit, (not overbearing), with exceptional manners. A special mention for Dean, who was a true professional throughout. A very enjoyable experience, and we will certainly be returning in the near future. Thank you.

What an absolute gem! I just happened to find this place on google maps while on holiday in the area and I’m very glad I did. We only stayed for 5 days but ate here 3 times. I didn’t even get a photo of the evening meal here as it was too good to wait around for. Breakfast is served until 3pm which is super handy if like me, you’re not a morning person. Portion sizes were brilliant, you would never be leaving still hungry. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming and the food was 10/10 too. Highly recommend this place but I just wish it was closer to home.

Every week, I visit this diner for breakfast with my mum, or partner and kids .The food is always lovely – fresh, tasty, and consistently high quality – but what really makes the experience so special is the incredible service. laura the manager and all of her staff are absolutely amazing, very friendly, and welcoming. Springsteens is one of my favourite places to eat. I have never had a bad meal there yet in all the years I have been going there. I used to work in the area and when I moved jobs I really missed eating there as often as I used to. Every time I am in Carrick I make a point of going for something to eat in Springstees. The diner looks great inside, it has a retro American feel. The staff are also lovely and very friendly. The food there is amazing! Again it has a US style feeling, they really do it well. Springsteens really impressed me, it made a lasting impression.

Absolutely delicious food, originally thought the price was a bit high but the portions are so sizeable that it’s 100% worth every penny. Very cute and instagrammable inside. Worth the trip from West Yorkshire

Staff were super helpful and friendly. When we came in it was busy and initially thought we may struggle to get seated. As another party left staff were straight over to clear the table for us to sit down together with high chairs available. When ordering staff were extremely helpful with accommodating my plain palette. Portion sizes can’t be complained about and everyone left full. Toilets were basic enough but had a baby change table on the wall which is always a plus.

I called in for a takeaway caramel coffee frappe, it was stunning! 100% recommended, Great customer service and friendly atmosphere too!

We haven't been here in a while so decided to give Saturday breakfast a try. It did not disappoint... There was a lovely guy on the till & serving. He was polite and helpful & so was the girl clearing tables. The atmosphere was lovely it was peaceful and not too busy at the time. Then the food was amazing, everything I like in a breakfast, looked and tasted great. We will be back

Love Creed. The Staff Super Friendly. The Food is really lovely and it's juts a nice wee cafe. Only downside is the lack of parking. But plenty of grass beside to park on.

Breakfast meal arrived without the eggs I had ordered, along with toast, which I hadn't. My plate was taken away and was returned to me with the two fried eggs that I had ordered, but one egg was so under cooked it should not have been served!

This store is due to be upgraded with a drive through cafe. When that happens I will give 5 stars

In the cafe queue for 15 mins without moving despite there only being 3 people in front of me. Very poor management of the process!! People walking away all the time due to the slowness of the service!

Store is not big enough too stock all their stock but are well placed locally they are opening a new larger store soon a short distance away but hopefully they will keep this one open for local shoppers who don't drive

Only go cos it's local... Usually only swim but tried the "spa"... We followed the receptionists instructions to scan our ticket which led us into the gym area and we ended up getting lost. Felt told off when redirected by another staff member. The open stairs to the pool don't feel "safe" can't imagine how anyone with disability uses spa N pool easily. For all the hype of the money spent on the centers upgrade it's hard to see it's value for money.. Place is looking grotty Few ppl using the steam room N jacuzzi were suprised we had paid they said they just come up from the pool 🤷

Nice staff, but the gym equipment is a bit lacking. Feel like the space could be better organised to accommodate more than 4 benches. Emergency buttons in awkward spots where you can accidentally hit them.

We had so much fun at the pool and the play area for the kids. They had nice cafe upstairs too and all the staff are lovely..amazing place and so clean

The hockey pitch was in great shape. Staff at the facility were very friendly. The surrounding area around the centre was clean and well kept. The car park was well marked out The facility is busy so if you want to have a quieter visit, stay away from peak hours.

Great facilities in Carrickfergus leisure centre, or Amphitheatre. My kids do Bushido Ju-Jitsu on a Monday night in the Concordia Suite. Plenty of space for the classes & spectators. Have also been at kids parties here in the Ludo soft play zone. Kids loved it. Party is self service. Lots of classes & clubs.

Excellent gym. Brilliant pool. Also has a park and beautiful pond beside with friendly ducks. Lovely place.

I loved this beautiful place with it's great amenities when it opened, and for years afterwards, and am a member. But now, the members showers have a door off, no soap in the dispensers, and none of the hairdryers are working!! And this has been the case for quite some time, there's a lot of talk in the place from members that they are totally dissatisfied with the upkeep of the place. Perhaps joining a private concern will be our choice.

Extremely rude and unhelpful male member of staff I believe to be called Aaron. Seriously needs to learn some manners and communication skills. Actually not cut out for retail at all! Maybe try the zoo Aaron, you might learn something from the gorillas!

Good prices but not much veriaty

Spotlessly clean, all the staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was first class and nothing was a bother to them, this was our second time there and it won't be our last. Would recommend it for a good relaxing break.

4 members of burping, misogynistic, obnoxious staff were standing/ sitting down one aisle, making for an uncomfortable shopping experience where you are being whispered about. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. Terrible staff made me feel sick once stepping into the store

I am making a complaint about the man who claimed he was the manager in the carrickfergus store in the decorcey centre on Saturday afternoon 8th February 2020 at approximately 1630hours. I was with my husband shopping for a few things an I had picked up a glass tap decanter as I was wanting to purchase it. I had other items including a mop and bucket I used my bucket as a basket and didn't realise the glass decanter was a little heavy for it and as I picked it up it tipped and the glass fell and smashed. I was extremely embarrassed by this! I stood by the glass as my husband went quickly to get someone. A tall guy arrived completely blanked me and started to clear the glass. I apologised and he still ignored me I then offered to pay for the item anyway as it cost five pounds. He still completely ignored me he did not look at me, speak to me or acknowledge me in any way. I have never experienced this and have never broken anything in a shop before! I said to my husband to leave down the other things as I wasn't shopping there as the attitude was horrible to which the guy then had a voice and said why I told him the way he treated me was awful and the attitude towards someone who had made a mistake and offered to pay was disgusting. He said I never said anything! To which I said exactly you completely blanked me. To which he then said I was disgusting! I told him I would be in touch with his manager to which he told me he was the manager! I have came away from the experience appalled at the customer service and how I was treated because of an honest mistake. I feel that you need to be aware of the service in that particular shop as its quiet enough and if this guy was the actual manager I would suggest he be trained on communication skills. This is not the example to set to the rest of the staff. Needless to say I or my husband will not be back to this particular shop any time soon.

Other than there being NO castle, it is a lovely place for the family. There are tamed ducks that will eat out of your hand. Mostly an elaborate garden with various birds. Worth a visit for a few hours...

Best products at cheapest prices!!!

Great for low priced frozen food and slimmers products. I like the Chinese and Indian take away selection. They also have freah products and in some stores fridges for sale.

We have been going to this store for months and it doesn't matter when we go the checkout at the first one has a door that is always lying open. I think they should get it fixed. It's in the way for people to get pass. Just fix the lock on it please

Normally good experience, but this time the young man serving was more interested in a conversation with a shopper who had paid and was on to the next shopper while still talking to the previous one then was still talking about his social life while scanning my goods. Not seen him in this branch before. But I just thought a hello how are you today would have been lovely.

Always a great choice. Had to take a star off as when in store they do not pay any attention to social distancing or enforce it with their customers. That being said, this always has been a great store for value & choice, and still is.

Complaint over the years for chucking my stuff passing through the scan, broke my favourite small keyring clubcard, no apology just an "oh", not a word from her even not telling the total of cost, I have to look at the till to see, when she gave me the change, I held out my hand, then she slam down the money on the packing area. Now I just used contact-less. Not once but many times with Similar situation. The woman called Lynne never change, still racism and with a lousy attitude. I used to go to other till but have to go to her cos there's no others that's why I don't go to Iceland much as I used to ☹️

The service was excellent, I can't fault the staff as they were friendly and attentive. The food wasn't bad by any means and I didn't have any huge issues with my my meal, but it was fairly average.

Tried The Swift with friends last week and it was so good we came back this week. We all chose different meals and were impressed with how good the food was. This week we tried the Sunday lunch menu and it was excellent. The best we have had in a restaurant. We would highly recommend it and will happily use it whenever we are in the area.

This restaurant is at the waterfront and harbour at Carrickfergus. The restaurant is nicely decorated and comfortable. On this occasion we were there around 6pm on a Sunday and although we had not booked they fitted us in. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu offers a great choice including daily specials, summer slimming menu, wide choice of drinks. I had the slow cooked beef in a hot and spicy noodle dish which was brilliant. My wife had the chicken goujons with salad and sweet potato fries, the fries where the best we have ever had. Prices vary for main courses from about £9 upwards.

We went for what should have been a lovely meal. Burger was overdone with a soggy salad, chicken was really tough and we had to send the risotto back as it was sloppy and looked like someone had thrown up on the plate. When we raised this with the staff, they were quite defensive and offered a measly 10% off the bill (as goodwill!) or a free desert which we declined. She eventually took 1 meal off the bill after I explained for the fourth time that the food was really bad and I would be writing a review to reflect the service we had received. We are not the sort of people to complain in a restaurant but it was so bad, we had to say something. There was no apology or acknowledgement, just a defensive response which was disappointing. The only good thing about the meal was the prosecco. Won't ever be back. Not surprised the place isn't busy! On the plus side the location is good and the restaurant is clean but the lack of good food and friendly service really lets the place down. Such a shame as it should be a great place to go.

The food is a little bit disappointing. We ordered the Irish stew (suppose to be the signature Irish meal). It was quite flavourless. However, the service is very nice. Staff are very lovely and speedy. They didn't charge us extra for the bread. Plus, their Guinness bread is not bad at all. The location is lovely. You can see the sea and Carriahfergus castle at the window seats.

Service was so poor I had to go and find the waiter to clear our starters ! Checked on our meal just before we had finished. We were the only people in the restaurant. Meal itself was of poor quality. Squid wasn't fresh, pork was dry and tasteless, burgers served on a freezing slate, need I go on. Obviously I'll never be back.

I really like ETC. A little bit slow at busy times getting your order in, but well worth the wait. The order is brought to your table by fast and friendly staff, the scones are first class and my coffee (flat white) is always the best I’ve tasted in Carrickfergus. A fantastic little gift shop at the fore of the coffee shop makes this a very pleasant experience 😀👍

Lovely place, beautiful gifts, upstairs lovely furniture. Eye catching pictures around the walls. We had tasty bacon butties. They do offer gluten free.

I love ETC. Their food is fabulous and the staff friendly and attentive. I recently attended their first Christmas Evening. It was absolutely wonderful. The staff had gone all out in decorating the shop, even setting up a Santas grotto. The food was wonderful and there was so much of it we had to bring some home with us. If you are in Carrickfergus call in and see them you won't regret it.

Lovely cafe which could be missed as it looks like a curiosity shop from the outside, which it is. I had Lentil soup my wife had sandwiches. Both of us had a latte each. Everything was amazing. Will definitely visit again.

This is such a gorgeous bookshop! The staff are so friendly and helpful. Could spend hours in it. Called down yesterday after getting a text message from Chris to say my book had arrived they had ordered me in. Definitely call in!

This hidden gem is one of the best bookshops I’ve seen. There’s such a vast selection of books from any genre, all laid out perfect. Jo & Chris were so welcoming and chatty, even with my little mini human wrecking ball. 😅 will 100% be back again. ☺️

This place is such a wee haven. The owners are so friendly - they remembered my toddler’s name from the first time we went in, and are always up for a chat about book recommendations. They are so knowledgeable too, and go out of their way to help when you’re hunting for something obscure. They have so much variety packed in to a cosy and welcoming little book cave, even with a section of used books and a children’s corner. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for books.

After almost a year of searching, we tracked down my daughter's lost bear to The Secret Bookshelf and they had kept it all that time. My daughter said "If he had to be lost anywhere, it would be in The Secret Bookshelf."

This is my absolute favourite bookshop. Everyone is so friendly and there's a fantastic range of books to choose from, with every budget catered for. Happened to mention on one of their posts that I was excited about the book they had mentioned being published and they offered to keep a copy aside. There's an excellent range of events, too. And on a sunny day, there's a lovely space to sit outside with your purchases (and maybe a coffee from one the cafes beside them).

A great wee bookshop in Carrickfergus. It has a hint of magic about it and is situated in a courtyard which really adds to that 'Secret' feel. Jo and everyone that works there are great and also leave you to it; no pestering, just welcoming and friendly. In addition to a nice selection of books, they stock an array of items that make for interesting gifts so it's worthwhile calling in to The Secret Bookshelf anytime you're in Carrickfergus. On a personal note, they stock some notebooks (Flame Tree Journals - Artisan range) that I love so I make it a point to call in once in a blue moon to get a new one. Or two. Or three. 🙃

An absolute Aladdin's cave for bookworms. There's not a single inch in the place that doesn't have books in or on it. Fantasy, horror, history, geography, autobiography etc etc and a whole room just cramped full of children/teen books. The staff are amazingly helpful and super friendly. If they haven't got the book you're looking for they'll order it in. You could literally spend hours in here 😊. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great shop but the jet wash is a joke!! Today I had to attempt to jetwash the place before I could use it, the brush had lumps of muck and hay actually stuck to it, had to jet wash the brush, couldn't walk around the car with the sods of muck. Ran out of soap....so often this happens. Shouldn't allow horse boxes or farm machinery to be cleaned in it or someone should be employed to ensure its cleaned after. My car mats were muddy from my feet and the amount of straw stuck to the tyres was unreal. Cost me £6 for a half done job!!! Sort it out please, especially since removing the drive through.

Seriously disappointed with my visit here the other day. Have used this store numerous times and had pleasant staff. Unfortunately this was a totally different experience. I brought my items to one of the cashiers, she scanned them through and as I paid I asked for a receipt as I felt there was something wrong with the transaction. When I got out to my car and looked at the receipt, I had been charged for an apple which I did not purchase ( not sure how this happened as no barcode to scan so had to be keyed in ) I went back in and straight to the same cashier, showed her the receipt and said I hadn't purchased it. She called for someone from the management team and the woman asked did I want the money back in cash or on card. She was very abrupt. I said I had paid cash and she took out small denomination coins and practically shoved them at me without so much as a sorry for the 'mistake' or a smile. Rather poor customer service in my view. Sadly it has put me off going especially since the last few times I've been in the service has been poor. Lots of other stores with higher standards towards their customers.

Well stocked shop, helpful staff. Hate the self check out tills and the congestion they create while queuing for a human cashier. Like a disorganized cattle market at busy times of the day. Puts me off so much i drive to the Centra at Clipperstown now. Less choice but less hassle and a stress free queue pay and go.

Very slow service the staff end up talking to public they know there was no large cups at the coffee machine only medium ones I asked one of the staff members he spend about 20 minutes talking to someone he knew I just walked out and went elsewhere they should have more than one coffee machine for such a big store

Great shop and spacious. Plenty of varied stock and a subway plus deli of you want something tasty to eat. Hot coffee and tea available with tobacco products.

Just visited your store 9.30am today had just been to llidles in Carrickfergus where I had to queue outside in a long queue outside their car park for half an hour before getting in. There were a about 8 people outside your store waiting to get in, I went to back of queue whena lovely young man came down and brought me into the store . I am disabled and use a stick and am 75so l was so pleased with the actions of this young man be proud of your staff eurospar 😊

Great shop. Fresh fruit and veg. Good selection of prepared meals. Fresh bread. Try it. You wont be disappointed.

My wife and I had a two night stay. Terrific meals and accommodation first class.Highly recommend.

How does anybody get through on the phone to Argos Carrickfergus?? I have a query for the manager in charge and I've tried about 10 times today! Each time going through options only to be told they're busy and can't answer!! This is soul destroying. M Young

More of a collection point than a shop but still great to pick up your orders. I have never had to que.

I went to Argos at sainsburys to buy a paint roller. They had 5 choices, every one was "order now and collect in 5/6 days! " For something so simple I was having to wait nearly a week on a paint roller. Not very good in my opinion . I also wanted some espresso Glasses these were exactly the same order and collect in 5/6 days. It would be quicker to drive to another Argos or a B&Q store. Not that impressed by such a long wait.
