This place is absolutely insane — full of people, shops, food, everything! Go with an empty stomach and a couple of hours to try everything you can think of. If you don’t like strong smells, seeing animals, or exotic foods, I’d recommend skipping this market. I loved it! Definitely try the eel, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, wagyu beef, shabu-shabu, and of course, sushi.

Another so called must go tourist place in Osaka. A lot of tourists here. And all the prices are also very touristy. Well, its willing seller, willing buyer. Most of the stalls selling seafood and food stuff. Saw some puffer fish slices, didn't dare to try. Again, it was pack with tourists the time we went during summer. If you never been there, why not.. but once is enough.

Kuromon Market is a great choice for Japanese seafood cuisine along with some signature local beef, pork and chicken dishes. The fusion of aromatic Asian condiments and local savory ingredients all add up to the great dining experience. The general ambiance of the market is extraordinary. The market is huge! Soooo many different stalls, food shops, and overall a great vibe. I wasn’t able to come here my first 2 trips to Osaka. And Im happy i did now because I just ate so much food. Went at opening 9am, and there was not much people. Worth it to come here!!!

I love visiting markets during trips, and this one is definitely on the touristy side, but with plenty of street food to try. We had some oden, which was warm, satisfying, and a delicious street food. The award-winning melon and milk ice cream shop was a real highlight, the milk ice cream was impressively good, even surpass those many in Hokkaido. We also tried grilled scallop, which was just okay. The giant cracker was our least favorite, fun for photos but too hard to enjoy, and we gave up after a few bites. It was less crowded than I expected during our visit in late July in the morning. Overall, it is worth visiting at least once.

Food tasted a little bland but was expertly fried. The staff don’t really speak English and were nice. The upgrade to the Wagyu sandwich was interesting but probably not worth it. Thoroughly enjoyed our kushikatsu 18-skewer course - ingredients are allowed to sing as the even, thin layer of batter adds a delicate crisp that doesn’t complements, not overwhelms. Fried ice-cream was the perfect ending to the meal.

We made reservations at this renowned one-Michelin-star restaurant in Osaka’s Kitashinchi district, celebrated for its kushiage — expertly deep-fried, breaded skewers. Recommended by a friend, the experience largely lived up to expectations. Each skewer was perfectly executed, with standout selections including the duck, uni with caviar, and foie gras. That said, I was somewhat disappointed that my birthday, which had been noted on the reservation, was not acknowledged, particularly as other guests received flowers and a celebratory dessert.

Located in a basement (B1 floor) with a narrow and not-so-clean corridor. But the restaurant itself is great. I experienced an amazing 20-course dinner. Almost every course is tasty. The chef also recommends the best sauce for each course. Overall a super nice experience.

APRIL 2023 Reserved online in advance and selected the special meat skewer course. Dined at the counter where you can see the chefs prepare and deep fry the skewers. For each skewer they will recommend the sauce to pair with. The batter was light and crisp and did not feel greasy, ingredients were fresh and tasty. A lot of high grade ingredients were included in the course such as A5 wagyu, truffle, foie gras and caviar. The course took two hours finish, food and service was great.

Kushikatsu at its finest. Although I don't have a comparison, I've had many a katsu during my time and the batter here is light, with the focus on the produce. We managed to finish all 25 courses, and also the supplementary items - salad, miso soup with soba, wagyu sando and the dessert course. The highlights for us were - the first course, crab, all the Wagyu pieces, fish eggs with uni and caviar, bear meat and finally the tomato and cheese with proscuitto. The fried chocolate was also superb. Not easy to find, in the basement amongst a bundle of restaurants, and when you go downstairs second restaurant on your right. Not a lot of transparency with pricing but we had the full 25 course menu + a bottle of Hakkaisan sake + a cocktail for about ¥43,000 (for 2 people). Hopefully this gives you a ballpark.

When it comes to quality of foods, when you are exploring the place you’ve never been to in Japan. i can give you one tip. The smaller restaurant sign or the simpler sign, the better. This Kushikatsu restaurant is no joke. Frying batter is so nice and thin, you can feel zero oiliness of the Kushikatsu even though it is deep fried. Frying batter is not overpowering and giving some extra crispiness and crunchness depending on the ingredients which is so good! You don’t have to worry about the smell lingering in your clothes. Their frying utencil and system is creative and geniously perfect!

It’s located on a side street and by atmosphere I mean the hawk style atmosphere. Food is quite authentic and juicy and freshly made. The owner is very friendly even if we don’t speak Japanese which is not always the case. We tried three different kinds and they are all good… okay maybe the ones with mayo is the best.

They had great music playing, mostly punk/pop punk and some T Swift obv, the gentleman working was HOT, hilarious, and super friendly, and the okonomiyaki was so savory and saucy and delicious! You get your own drinks and squeeze a rubber chicken when you do which was very fun. The decor was weird and funky and once again PUNK af. Love it.

Completely unique experience. The managers friendliness and energy is unmatched and the food is awesome. I’m a big eater but couldn’t finish a single serve of the delicious okonomiyaki. Truly one of a kind experience that everyone should try while visiting Osaka!

The place is run by only one person. Although he is quite nice and energetic (ocasioanlly too energetic), he cannot take care of everything. The place is pretty much self-serve and self clean. There was no soap in the bathroom, and the place overall is far from clean. Given the tight space and lack of big tables, I recommend this place for groups of at most 3 people, unless you don't have an issue sitting at different tables. Also, some of the spaces are quite tight and uncomfortable. The food is quite good and plenty.

Such a fun experience! Very small place full of character, there is one incredible guy who welcomes guests, cooks, cleans, and all with a smile on his face. One of the few places where you can get a great vegetarian okonomoyaki! The portions are huge and cheap. We loved it and we are recommending it to everybody. My dad found this place when we were in Osaka and we decided to have dinner here. It was literally the most fun, interesting, and welcoming experience we’ve had in Osaka. The food was glorious, the atmosphere of the place was so fun, and the owner was so kind and friendly! My dad spoke to him in English and the owner did his best to communicate back, bless his heart. Prices of food were good, and it was a lot of food! I’m definitely coming back when I return to Japan at the end of this year!

Bad music, flat highball, food smells & taste like McDonalds, dote was 100% FAT & 0 beef, cabbage isn’t free, potato was sooo hard, sausage taste cheap, floor is sticky so table is moving forward if I put my arms on the table top… All the staff have been walking around IG coughing as well… Quality hasn’t really gone down & this place has been added to my list of worst places to eat in Kansai…

Kushikatsu (fried meat on a stick!) and kushiage in general is known to be famous in Osaka. We tried Daruma, a well-known chain with locations across Osaka, after doing some research to find a place that was more authentic and not too pricey. Close to our hotel, we showed up around 7pm and had to wait for about 20mins to be seated. They have an online QR code ordering system but also have English menus should you require. We really enjoyed the food and quick orders here! We thought we'd spoil ourselves with some of their more expensive kushiage, like their Iberico pork, A4 wagyu and Kobe beef. Of the 3, we'd recommend the A4 wagyu while skipping the other 2. You're better off going after their more typical and lower priced options... The classic kushikatsu (fried beef stick) was okay but it was their pork belly that we tipped our hats off to. At 139 yen per stick, both are at the lowest cost tier and something we could eat time and time again. Their renkon (lotus root) was also a standout. Overall, I'd say more of their lower to mid-priced options are great. Batter is crispy but not too heavy and the filling is cooked just right. Their kushiage sauce is a great way to cut through the grease. If you want to try something a little fancier, get the A4 wagyu too. Highly recommend Daruma if you're looking for a more authentic kushiage experience!

We had a lot of fun. A local joint. We were the only tourists in the restaurant. We arrived right around 6 and didn’t have to wait for a table in the main dining room. The staff speak only a little English but they have an English menu and we were able to make it work. The food was delicious and portions were large. We found it easiest to go with one of the set meals.

I went to this restaurant on a Friday night. It was very crowded and we had to wait about 20 minutes. The locals obviously like it - kushikatsu is a food unique to the Kansai area like okonomomiyaki, however, I thought the coating was a little too thick. I was fortunate enough for someone to let me enjoy homemade kushikatsu and the difference was great. The home made version had a light dusting of "panko" (breadcrumbs), whereas the commercial version practically had a pretty thick coating of batter or flour before being covered with panko. The ingredients were fresh though. Service was very good and polite. And despite taking our orders on an electronic device, they still got our orders wrong. But we were not charged for the wrong items. Price was not cheap but not terribly expensive either. I highly recommend the mentaiko, oyster, salmon, and fatty pork.

Great service, waitress always refill the ice water without prompting. However no photos of the main grill. One person one okonomiyaki was just nice and does not make you feel too full. Taste wise - flour amount was ok and quite substantial ingredients.

I ordered the most popular suji negi yaki, while it doesn’t have much meat inside, so probably should go with another option clearly stating more meat ingredient. Great restaurant serving negiyaki which is basically spring onion version of the okonomiyaki! The taste is interesting for those who have not tried. I highly recommend but I still prefer the original okonomiyaki because it is much more tastier. Spring onion version taste like eggy with lots of spring onion taste. Not much sauce taste. Staff of the store is very good and friendly, can speak English as well. Long queue as it’s popular with Japanese as well as tourist. Side note, you will stink after eating with smell of stick to your clothing. Best to eat late at night.

If you like Negi (Japanses spring onion), then you might like this place. Negiyaki replaced cabbage in okonamiyaki with Negi, and so it has a softer texture. This store is famous and can be really busy, so you may have to queue up a bit. Or you can have a late dinner to avoid the crowds. You can make the order once when you enter the store, so make sure you order enough for yourself. 1 main item is usually enough for one person, but you can do with an extra side dish, and a large eater might need 1.5 potion.

We had one special beef and Konjac Okonomyiaki and one shrimp Negiyaki, which is basically the same pancake but replaced cabbage in okonamiyaki with Negi (green onions). I visited Kushikatsu Daruma - Namba Main Shop by accident and had a pleasant experience overall. Huge shopping street! Indoors is perfect for a rainy day or storm. In between the intersections you do have to cross the street outdoors though! Has something for everyone and any budget. Shops from Daiso to higher end. Some thrift shops too! Just walk up and down the street and you can do all your Osaka shopping. Souvenirs & trip magnets are a good price here and won’t find them much cheaper elsewhere.

If you love matcha and Uji tea culture, this place is a pilgrimage. We waited almost two hours for a table, and the matcha flavors we did try were absolutely worth it—fresh, vibrant, and unique. I was hoping to try their famous matcha curry udon, but it sold out before my turn, so plan to arrive early! Even with the long wait, the staff remained kind and welcoming.

The covered walkway makes it comfortable to explore in any weather, and there’s always something new to discover. Street food, friendly shop staff, and the lively atmosphere make it a must-visit spot for both tourists and locals. If you love shopping or just want to enjoy Osaka’s city vibe, Shinsaibashi-Suji is the perfect place to spend a few hours (or even a whole day!).

A must-visit in Osaka if you love shopping and food! Shinsaibashi-suji has everything — from big international brands to unique Japanese boutiques and endless cosmetic/drugstores. The street is always lively, with great energy and so many food options along the way. It does get very crowded, but that’s part of the fun atmosphere. Easy access from Shinsaibashi or Namba Station and connects straight to Dotonbori.

The foods is really not good taste and expensive than the one I had in Dotonbori. We also had to wait long time for our food. Consider it if you want to experience this famous food, as this restaurant did not deliver the true taste.

Randomly chosen restaurants as others were closed after 10pm. Surprisingly the food was not too bad, the skewers were perfectly fried and not oily.

First time trying kushiage and kushikatsu and this joint blown me away. Order a set of 15 diff sticks n all were wonderful. The different ingredients were fried to perfection, crispy outside yet soft n juicy inside. The quilt eggs were still runny inside! Ordered beef stew also and it was fantastic! We finished off all the soup! Even the raw cabbage tasted so sweet!

UCC cafes are one of the last remaining cafes that serves the traditional siphon coffee. I ordered set lunch (House sandwich) and you can ask the daily coffee which is higher quality than the blend coffee to be included in set price. Also 2nd cup is 220yen only (used to be 100yen + tax) Their waffles are also popular Well after I wrote review and start the coffee there was some floaties in the milk and oil. Well the staff did promptly replaced it and I got a fresh cup poured personally by the barrister. Tasty cheesecakes! Long queues form just outside the store. Be prepared to wait a little while. There is a guard to control the crowds. There is a separate queue for those who ordered two hours in advance. The staff take pride in their work and serve customers with a broad smile! It was a very pleasant buying experience. There is a limit to the number of boxes each customer can purchase. I will be back for more! Thumbs up!

I’m from Australia and it’s similar to uncle tetsu cakes - but softer, fluffier, bouncier, and also more affordable. It was 1065 yen for the cake. They had two lines- one line for the freshly baked hot cake (took about 20-25 mins) and one line for the cakes that were baked 2 hours ago (took about 5-10mins). They sell other things too like toast and cookie things. The cake itself was very nice and soft. It doesn’t actually taste like much but the texture is so beautifully fluffy. It’s like a simple sponge cake but it kinda melts in your mouth and feels like you can eat the whole cake without being full. Overall, it is probably a bit overrated but as a traveller, it isn’t super expensive so it’s nice as a simple dessert. If you’re not too fussed, just buy the 2h old one and heat it in the microwave. Also, you can only buy two per person…

2025 September 4.5★ Rikuro is a traditional, Osaka-based chain serving a superior light, airy, and creamy texture. Cheese flavor isn't over powering like another brand. Ordering... There are two lines, left side is for those who want to buy a baked cooled down 2hr ago cake. There's usually no line ups and unless you want to eat it immediately, it's fine. The cake will cool down within 2 hours anyways. The right side is where you will see people lining up. The line can be fairly long and expect to wait about 30 minutes. Seating upstairs are by reservations. Is it necessary? Probably not, unless you know exactly what time you are planning on going. Very giggly. Very good. Would recommend. Would come again.

The cheesecake is as fluffy as advertised, and very tasty. Even the smallest one is pretty big, even for two people, so be advised some may go to waste if not refrigerated properly. I would recommend getting there early to avoid big lines as they start forming even before the shop opens. The cheesecake serving is generous and affordable (around 1k) and also tasty and very fluffy.

Big line for the take away but you have to make a reservation the take a seat for a slice. It was a sponge cake and light, not sweet. Then I took another with mount blanc named, some sweet potato, chestnut and whipped cream on it. Service was fast and the waitress was so polite and helpful. I didn’t make the reservation but they took me upstairs and gave my food. She also suggested to take the video of the mount blanc cake viral video wjile shaking and making it. Thank you.

Very good cake, soft and fluffy just like everyone says. It does have a slight egg taste, as others have mentioned before, but it’s still delicious overall. The line is quite long, but the staff are very efficient and keep things moving quickly. There’s also an option to skip the longer line by buying a cake that was baked over two hours ago. However, the best experience is definitely getting one that’s just come out of the oven. It’s warm, jiggly, and extra fresh. Definitely worth the wait, especially if you’re trying it for the first time.

Rikuro is famous for their fluffy Japanese style cheesecake and it absolutely lives up to the hype. There were 2 lines, one for the cakes that were baked 2 hours ago and another for fresh out of the oven cakes. Either way, it's a super jiggly soft and not too sweet cake to try. On the packaging it states that it requires refrigeration but if not, I would totally have bought more to bring back as souvenirs.

We waited 30–40 minutes just to eat some patties. I only went along with it because my wife wanted to try it, but was it worth it? Definitely not. The whole Michelin story also seems to have ended in 2023, based on the stickers at the entrance. We tried 4 out of 5 items. My personal ranking would be 1-4-2-3. There was nothing that made us say “wow,” and the presentation didn’t offer anything particularly unique either. Honestly, you can find more delicious and creative food in many places around Japan. If there’s no line, go ahead and give it a try — but if you have to wait, I’d say it’s definitely not worth it.

Absolutely mind-blowing. This is not just food – it’s Osaka on a plate. I had the Negi-yaki, the green onion pancake, and it was pure umami perfection – light, fragrant, with that soy-based aroma that stays with you long after the last bite. The texture was crisp on the outside and soft inside, beautifully balanced. My partner had the Yamaimo-yaki with pork and squid, and it was phenomenal – airy, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth. You can actually taste the yam base; it’s unlike any okonomiyaki you’ll find elsewhere in Japan. The staff were kind, the pace authentic, the sizzling sound from the grill just hypnotic. Mizuno deserves every bit of its reputation — a must-try if you want to understand the soul of Osaka’s food culture.

It's ok. Nothing special, you can probably find similar or even better okonomiyaki for cheaper. The yam pancakes are good, but I wouldn't say it's better than the traditional ones. Also, I missed some bonito flakes. And the portions are just too small. However, not worth the wait. I waited for 40 minutes in line in not very busy day. Then, once in, I kind of felt rushed to have my meal and leave.

Wet soggy mess. Only redeeming fact their proteins we're good quality/thick. Would not queue for this ever. They got our order wrong. Have had significantly better oknomiyaki around Osaka. Does not hold together but breaks apart when picking up with chopsticks.

Lines are always long here so I wanted to give it a shot. We waited about 30mins . Not sure how Michelin cheap eats are awarded but this restaurant is an award holder . Is it better than other Omayaki (egg flour savoury pancake - probably misspelt ) restaurants? Probably but is it worth the wait - you need to decide .. the yam version is nice and worth a try.

Visited on a Sunday for lunch. They open at 11.30 and I came at 11.20, and there was already a long queue in front of me. While we wait, the staff distributed the menu and took our order. I got in at 12.30 and my order was already served on my table. I got their most recommended menu, the pork-mix okonomiyaki. It was a little different from all the the okonomiyaki I've known before, but a pleasant surprise nonetheless. The sauce was on the sweeter side, and there were pineapple chunks in the batter that actually works together with the rest of the ingredients. I especially like the crispy, almost-burnt edges. Portion size was quite big and they were generous with the pork and seafood toppings, but I was able to finish everything. The grill aroma would linger on your hair and clothes long after the meal, so you might want to consider visiting at the end of day instead.

The best OKONOMIYAKI I’ve ever had. It was so filling and overwhelming because the portions are huge. If you plan to come here when you are already full, you might not be able to finish everything. The place can get a bit hot because of the cooking station, but we were very happy with our experience here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Worth coming back.

Best Okonomiyaki my family and I have had in Japan! I got the Seafood with Fried Noodles, my brother and my dad got the Pork-Mix with Fried Noodles, and my mom got the Pork. They were all phenomenal. Would highly recommend if you are visiting Osaka. We got there right after they opened and a lien formed behind us. Definitely get there early. You won’t be disappointed.

One of the MUST TRY that I forwarded to my friends. I ordered the pork mix dish and it was sooo delicious. I wasn’t even that hungry, but I finished everything! 😋 The staff here are super friendly and one of them can speak fluent English, which makes everything easy. And… okay, side note: One of the young chefs is ridiculously handsome, like, Kpop star level. (Oops, was I supposed to be only focusing on the food? 😂 PS: Seating is limited, so arrive before opening or be prepared to wait. Totally worth it though!

Went there on a hot summer weekend evening expecting a queue but the queue was shorter than we anticipated (yay!) Located slightly away from the main areas like dotonbori, etc. The store itself is nothing fancy, just a down to earth little store serving up good food. If you get the counter seats you get to see the cooking live. They take your order in advance so your food gets served quickly after you’re seated. The okonomiyaki was delicious with a unique touch of pineapples - the seafood used were very fresh and sweet, cooked to perfection. We enjoyed our meal here.

This place totally lives up to the hype. The food is amazing and so well priced. The team working there are so kind, happy and accomodating. The place is cozy with limited seating. We came as a party of five which we knew may be tricky. They were so nice and didn’t seem put out and made room for us all. The team were so busy but seemed so passionate and happy in their work making the atmosphere fun and welcoming. They even gave my son a wee toy. Such a great place Can’t rate them highly enough ❤️

One of the best okonomiyaki places I have been to. They offer vegetarian and vegan options and you can leave out egg and mayo for the vegan option. I also asked about the sauce they use and they checked it for me and it does not contain meat. I also enjoyed the atmosphere and feel like I travelled back in time a bit.

One of the famous takoyaki spots in Osaka. We tried the basic version with extra green onion, and it was tasty. I was a little surprised though, as the inside had quite a bit of air space instead of being plump like I expected (maybe just me since I rarely eat takoyaki). Went around 1pm on a weekday during late July and there was no queue, plus we got to sit upstairs comfortably. Free self-service water was also provided at the eat-in space.

2025 September 4★ Definitely one of the better Takoyaki in Osaka. Indoor seating at the back with 2 floors. Tables for about 12 on each floor.. たこ焼 8 pieces ¥650 Delicious, juicy. Love the fact there's also packets of the 7 spices that you can sprinkle. Worth checking out. Would come again.

I don't remember who recommended this place as the best tokoyaki in Osaka, but I have to say it was delicious! It was my first time trying this typical dish of Osaka and the place looked like the real deal despite being in an area of many tourists. You can have it "to go" but I would suggest taking the food and beer inside to eat in the small indoor area together with the locals and get a more... immersive experience. Great value for money, amazing taste and fast service.

Tbh, not a fan of octupus but this one changed our expectations! We literally enjoyed each flavors of their Takoyaki from their special 4-flavors set. Love the texture, flavors and sauces! ❤❤❤❤

Famous location for takoyaki. But would say same if going almost anywhere else. The queue went by quick and they do offer air conditioning dining space around the corner, which made it super convenient. It not the best AC but some better than none.

Great takoyaki away from the busy Dotonbori. Got the variety set, with the best ones being the standard and salted negi. Best part is there was no line wven at 6 PM, and had indoor seats to eat at.

We went for an afternoon snack around 4 pm and the line was huge, but it moved fast — we only waited about 10 minutes. We chose the takeout option, so we got served even quicker. Got the 8-piece takoyaki for under 800 JPY an absolute steal! Freshly made, super tasty, with a big piece of octopus inside. Great snack, great spot, totally worth the wait.

Hanadako is a popular takoyaki shop located in the Osaka New Umeda Shokudo-gai, conveniently situated next to the train station. The shop constantly attracts crowds of people eager to enjoy their delicious takoyaki. You have the option to dine in or take out, with takeout typically being faster. For dine-in, you’ll have to wait until seats are available. The seating is limited to a small standing counter that accommodates 8-9 people. After placing your order, you can enjoy your takoyaki while watching the chef skillfully prepare them, creating a lively atmosphere. We ordered 10 takoyaki for just 1050 yen, which is very affordable. The takoyaki comes topped with a generous amount of green onions and mayonnaise, forming a literal “mountain” of toppings. The takoyaki themselves are delicious — crispy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside, with tender, chewy octopus pieces. You can also add chili powder (which isn’t too spicy) for an extra kick, transforming the flavor in a delightful way. Overall, this is a highly recommended spot, and it’s clear why it’s so popular!

Great Takoyaki! Flavorwise, it was fantastic. The octopus portion in each Takoyaki was good. I just wished it was a lot more crispy on the exterior. Take note that if you are ordering from here, the eating-in option means standing by their store to eat which may require about 5-15 minutes of waiting. While the take away option requires you to leave anywhere near the station as you are not allowed to eat at the premises.

We came here to this area to experience the dazzling, over the top shopfronts and after walking around a few blocks, we got hungry. We popped in to the nearest crowded restaurant and ordered some food. There was a queue here but the eait wasn't too long. We took the times to perise the menu. There were a lot of options but when in Osaka, one has to try the okonomiyaki. We also ordered other items to share. The food arrived pretty quickly and everything was delicious. The team here is very friendly and made recommendations to us on what to order. It is quite lively here but we can still talk and enjoy our conversation and of course, the food as well.

Fabulous Japanese Kansai Cuisine experience. We were an Indian family of four with teenaged kids visiting Osaka for the first time. Roaming around the crowded Dotonbori area at 8pm on a very crowded street, we were famished after a long summer hot August day in Osaka. We were welcomed by a sweet smiling usher who made us comfortable with a Namaste & promptly seated us though super crowded. The lady server patiently explained us Japanese dummies the type of food and we ordered Okonomiyaki, yakisoba seafood noodle, Takoyaki with lassi & drinks. The restaurant was extremely crowded, noisy, smelling of food, full of tourists & we loved the chaos, having visited very quiet restaurants before. Everything was served hot on the grill plate, freshly made with wonderful flavours. We thoroughly enjoyed our Kansai cuisine touristy experience.

I ate here last Feb, & I consider this to be one of my favorite Takoyaki spots because of the variety of flavors they have available. If you want Takoyaki that’s non-traditional or with cheese, this is the place for you! :)

When you want to drink but go out two friends have to buy 2 drinks. only I have a need, my friend doesn't, i was pressured by the shop to buy two drinks. The attitude of the staff is not good (female staff), not male friends wearing glasses. You should not go to this restaurant, if you do, buy food in the front row, you should not go to the restaurant upstairs.

We came especially to try the okonomiyaki. They did warn us that there might be a 20–30 minute wait, and indeed we waited — so keep that in mind if you’re short on time... Tho, the food was delicious!

Stumbled upon this place while taking a stroll. wanted seats while eating Takoyaki so this place fits the bill. Food is not bad, did not have expectations and this place had food that was better than expected. its afternoon and they had a cover... each person had to order a drink on top of all the food that we ordered.

Curry Yakumido has such a comfortable vibe. The owner was very welcoming and personable. My husband and I got the beef and chicken curry combo and it was so incredible as our first Japanese curry. After a long day of walking and both having headaches, this was the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal and good conversation.

The curry was delicious, I recommend it spicy! The owner was so fun to talk to and we had great conversation. He was patient, letting us practice Japanese and sharing very interesting facts about Kyoto’s history and shrine recommendations. Highly recommend!

We were on the hunt for some great curry and stumbled across this place, and it checked every box! The place is cozy, enough seating for about 5 people at a time. The owner and his friend were such gems, we chatted for awhile during our meal! The curry is a great portion with deep and rich flavours. Couldn’t recommend enough!!

We were a group of 5 and we were lucky enough to get straight in with no wait. My partner is celiac (gluten free) and the chicken curry was available as a gluten free option, which was fantastic! The food was some of the best I have experienced! The experience was fantastic, great chat, cold drinks, and fantastic food. Only 3 choices in the menu, so guaranteed not to be disappointed. YAKUMIDO CURRY&RICE – Highly Recommended! We stopped by this restaurant during our stay in Osaka, and it was a total win! The curry was simply delicious – aromatic, full of flavor, with the perfect balance of spices and fresh ingredients. Portions are ok, and the prices are super reasonable. But what truly won us over was the heart of the owner. We had a little mishap: we'd booked a hotel with no reception, and they forgot to send us the door code, ignoring all our messages. The owner of YAKUMIDO not only helped us get in touch with the hotel but also sorted it out so we could finally get the code and access our room. That kind of help goes way beyond standard service – we felt truly taken care of. We'll be back for sure!

Small little slice of heaven in the area, the owner is awesome with better english than me!! His restaurant is awesome and the dishes he serves have been perfected over the years. Definitely a master of his craft! One of those restaurants you don’t only go to once❤️ Our favourite food in osaka, potentially japan and so affordable!

2nd time to this same shop. Prices have gone up. Most things are the same. Salmon and tuna is top notch. But scallop was a bit too firm and overcooked. Otherwise food was ok. Atmosphere wise: a bit crowded especially if you are travelling with kids. Verdict: Nice fresh food but it’s a bit pricey. Worth a try if you have not been to it before

​The seafood meal was something else. The Japanese eel, the fugu, and especially the crab roe - it was like a whole new experience. Everything tasted so incredibly fresh, like it just came out of the ocean. On top of that, the staff was truly amazing. Their kindness and attention to detail made the entire evening feel so much more special. It was a perfect PM from start to finish.

Nice seafood experience at the Kuromon Market. You can choose from different types of seafood, ready to eat or to be cooked for you. From king crab legs to octopus. I had a seared scallop with sea urchin, strong umami flavors, along with a piece of octopus that was bbq’ed, a nigiri platter with tasty tuna and other fishes, and a portion of sea urchin. The sea urchin was good, but I’ve had better in this market. All this with a cold beer, seating on a large table. Would recommend for groups and to try different things.

A smorgasbord of seafood offerings in a clean, organized space. We came near closing time and some a la carte offerings were tagged 50% off (半額)！ Larger sets were also discounted but less. All delicious! And fresh, even at the end of the day (family is extra sensitive to non-fresh food) We paid (cards accepted),and sat at one of the many tables with our spoils, enjoying the food, music, and the tea on tap. There are more prepackaged items like whale(!) and pufferfish(!) but we'd had our fill. Also, bathrooms are clean, they have you take off shoes and use provided slides.

Highly recommended for its great price and value. We ordered the ¥3300 sashimi set and the ¥3000 toro uni nigiri set; the Toro and uni are so fresh and delicious (of course the sashimi is also very fresh and sweet). We ordered to go the last minute before our trip to Tokyo. They helped us pack the food with small ice packs and wrapped them very well.

Kuromon Sanpei, Osaka — Great Seafood without the Fancy fuss If you are looking for white tablecloths and waiters in suits, Kuromon Sanpei is not for you. But if you want incredibly fresh seafood served fast and with zero pretension, pull up a plastic chair and get ready to eat. Located inside the buzzing Kuromon Ichiba Market, Kuromon Sanpei is a no-frills, partly self-service spot where the focus is entirely on the food — and it delivers. Their miso soup is simple but deeply satisfying: a clean, umami-packed broth with generous pieces of wakame seaweed, the kind of bowl that tastes like it’s been made with real care, not from a packet. The fish selection is excellent. The Norwegian salmon stands out. The fatty tuna (toro) was so tender it practically melted on the chopsticks, no wasabi needed. At Kuromon Sanpei, you grab your food, find a seat, and dig in. It is not messy (we are in Japan), casual, and all about the freshness of what is on your plate. This is market eating at its best: lively, and full, but absolutely delicious. Lastly the staff were very friendly and lovely.

Extremely lively and popular seafood restaurant in Kuromon market. Order at the cashier first, then collect a number and find yourself a seat. I ordered the seafood kaisen don at 1650 yen which comes with a forgettable miso soup. The variety of seafood is excellent for its price. You get ikura, whitebait, prawn and slices of common fish like salmon and yellowtail. However, the quality of seafood leaves much to be desired considering it is at a food market. The seafood is reasonably fresh, but I find it a little chewy. The rice does not taste like sushi rice as well. Overall, considering the price, I find it a reasonable lunch option with potential upside if you were to combine with their other products offered in the front fridges.

Throughout the trip, I went out drinking every night to meet new friends, and everyone was so nice and kind to me. The tacos were insanely delicious. During my trip last December, I promised I would come back, and I actually did. And once again, I said the same words: 'I’ll come back again. สวัสดีครับ ฮิโระซัง โนริซัง ^^

I came here due to this being the closest place to me that serves a vegan meal. I am so glad I came here the food was amazing it was the best taco I’ve personally ever eaten with homemade salsa and the food was cooked fresh!! There was also a meal for my partner that had meat which was amazing for him!! The guys were so lovely and genuine and their English was also amazing so we could actually have decent conversation. The vibe in the bar/restaurant was just exactly what we wanted even though I was just trying to fuel up the experience was so much more than that ,we stayed longer than we thought. Traveler’s Bar Osaka Tacos is a cozy, welcoming spot with a nice vibe - there’s a cool display of currency from all over the world, and the bartender speaks excellent English, which makes it easy to relax. I had a Midori sour, light and refreshing, and a quesadilla that came with a house-made salsa - it wasn’t spicy but it was packed with flavor and very satisfying. I ended up chatting with a couple of other travelers while I was there, which made the visit even more enjoyable. There was also an area towards the back to play some video games, and I saw a couple people try it out! A great place to grab a drink and some tasty food in Osaka!

The vibes of this place are great! Nice City Pop with some nerdy decorations and a headboard covered in notes from fellow travelers. We got vegan versions of the taco and taco rice and they were great! The highlight for me was their in-house salsa. The owner was super friendly and asked us where we were from and talked with us about where we were heading after Osaka. Thank you!

Felt very similar to a bar back home in the states. The staff were extremely friendly and nice and allowed us to practice conversations skills in both Japanese and English. Great conversations great food as well. All of the top tier ingredients in this country mixed with comfort Mexican food made for some tasty dishes.

Managed to find a really cool place to chill out at. The staff were very friendly and lively, the tacos was the best. If you're in Osaka, I highly recommend this place.

My favorite bar in Osaka!! Very small and intimate but with lots of charm and personality. We drank beer and had a chat with locals and foreigners alike. The owner was also very friendly and welcoming. The taco is more of a Tex-Mex style taco, not a traditional one, but still very tasty nonetheless. We also had a quesadilla tasted just like ones my mom would make me growing up. Definitely will be coming back my next time in Osaka.

If you want to try takoyaki, this is a good place to do so. I personally didn’t love it but this has nothing to do with this branch. Give it a shot and decide for yourself! You pay in cash through a vending machine and it gives you a ticket which you can use to get your Takoyaki.

Went on October 12, 2025. There’s a line, but it moves rather quickly. Ordering is done through the vending machine, and only cash is accepted. Ordered the 12pcs of takoyaki which had 3 different flavors. All flavors were generally alright but just a bit salty. There's a room/section for eating just beside the shop but it's just small and already packed with people. Others just eat out on the street while standing which can be bothersome since a lot of people walks by. You can walk a bit further out and get lucky to sit down one of the chairs in the middle of Dotonbori.

My friends and I wanted to try this takoyaki place as we’ve heard great things, it’s very popular so there was a line but it moved quite fast. Production and service is streamlined as they have enough staff members to ensure the service. You order on a machine and it’s easy and simple, you can watch the takoyaki being made as you wait for yours too. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the takoyaki itself was very delicious, i love the generous toppings especially the spring onion and we all enjoyed it a lot.

We tried the famous Takoyaki here for the first time! When we arrived, there was already a long queue full of locals and tourists. We had to place our order first at a vending machine, which only accepted cash. After that we could watch how the balls filled with pieces of octopus were freshly prepared right in front of us. Personally, I’m not a big fan of Takoyaki. I found them a bit chewy, but it was still super fun to experience this iconic Osaka street food. Definitely a must-do/see!

Tried my first ever Takoyaki here and it didn’t disappoint. Short queue moved fast, ordered on machine, decided based on the pictures and then watched as they made it right in front of us! Hot, fresh & tasty.

One of the better takoyaki spots in dotonbori. It’s easy to located because of the big takoyaki ball. Lol. The takoyaki is light with a bit of crisp on the exterior. It’s not so starchy and the filling is more generous. It also has a fun texture from the puffs on its exterior. The sauce has a good balance of sweet, savory, and acidity.

CASH ONLY. Ordered the 2 type. Arrived and no found no queu, but once I turned the queu went for around 25 people. It is worth it, and the service is super fast. The only delays you might find is when they are preparing the next batch. Overall, 10 out of 10.

The food: The food here was mediocre at best, their complementary dishes that come with the course are actually pretty good but the wagyu that they’re “known” for was a gamble. When more than 1 person orders the same course, all serving portions of said course came together, although this makes sense from a cleaning and “space on the table” standpoint it causes many issues when there are more than 2 people, I came in w a party of 5 and we all ordered the same course, however for some types of meat we received 8 slices or sometimes even 6! Which made it so people got uneven amounts of meat, the cuts of beef we receive were of drastically differing sizes and different thicknesses, making it hard to split everything up evenly. Not only that some pieces they gave us were 90% fat 10% beef On top of that it was always a gamble when eating these pieces, sometimes they would be juicy and tender and melt in your mouth but someone with the same type of meat would have a super chewy and rough piece, near the end I felt a little nauseous from the amount of fat on the beef and the fat wasn’t even from the marbling. Service: Service here was amazing everyone was super kind and friendly and the waiters filled up our water as soon as we ran out or were close to running out, they were quick to take our order and bring out our food despite having a rather large party, the staff here also understand English here pretty well. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a yakinuku place wasn’t terrible but nothing really stood out

We chose this from the places on the food floor of the mall because we were craving barbecue. We didn’t realize until we sat down that this was actually Korean bbq not Japanese bbq but it still looked good so we stayed. It is basically Korean bbq but with Japanese cuts of beef. We ordered one of the smaller sets and then one additional order of marinated meat. Unfortunately I didn’t get many good pictures of the meat we got but they all had great marbling. We also ordered a beef soup and their signature salad and a couple drinks! Overall this was a great spot to sit for a while and get to sip on our drinks with some great food. The soup and salad were both good but not something I would seek out again. The quality of the beef was really great and tasted amazing with the dipping sauces. It was a very lively vibe at the restaurant with lots of people drinking and eating while catching up with friends. I don’t think I personally would go back just because we had limited time in Japan and would likely want to seek out more Japanese food but this is a solid spot if you’re looking for kbbq! The service was also really great here. Everyone working here was very friendly and a lot of them spoke English which was helpful for us. Because of the oil/smoke smell that comes with bbq, they have a spray that the hostess will spray on you when you leave to deodorize any of your clothes which is a nice touch!

My family and I came in after lunch time and chose this place since it was one of the only places open in the area. Terrible service to start. We were seated and were ready to order in 10-15 minutes. Another party came in and were instantly given water and their order was taken within the 10 minutes. They had already received their food as well, and we still hadn’t received ours. The food was okay and the best thing was bibimbap. Unfortunately would not come back here. Sad to see that the customer service at this place is racist to those who speak only english.

A decent place for yakiniku, the beef is good, especially the negi beef tongue. Staff is very friendly.

The meat looked sad compared to the photos and definitely didn’t taste any better. Felt like a waste of money, especially after having way better BBQ at another spot recently. Honestly, skip this place. There are way better BBQ joints around here!

Would not come again but experiencing it once is enough. Don’t get me wrong, the raw tuna and seafood is great. I ordered set 1 yen with a compulsory drink (to avoid getting a service charge) for 2420 yen. My only problem is that the queue for a table is quite unclear as the queuing area is not well indicated (with a small sign) that is easily missable when you are walking into the izakaya that is very active with people. Because of this, Some of the service staff can speak English, but they can be quite rude if you’re not aware of the proper queue for a table. One female staff member (the one in blue in the picture) told me off rather loudly in her posh English accent when I accidentally queued at the payment line (so beware of her as she quite hot headed lol) which wasn’t really my fault, since other clueless tourists were lining up there too. It kinda left a bit of a sour feeling while I was eating. Overall, the food was great. Toyo can get quite busy doing the dishes and doesn’t spend much time cooking, so keep that in mind if you’re heading all the way to Kyobashi Station mainly for the Instagram photos.

Lives up to the hype, and the grilled tuna cheek is just one of many delicious foods you can order. We also lucked out and got uni and crab claw specials, as well as the standard sashimi and maki sushi items. Everything was awesome. There's something special and satisfying about eating great food while standing huddled around an outdoor table and chatting with other people who are also there for good food and a good time. Thank you to the Toyo staff for a great time!

I went to a standing bar, a hidden spot in Kyobashi. There were long lines of inbound customers. It's a unique location with a cemetery next door, making it a great place to have fun drinking in the daytime. It was amazing to see the chef handle the fish with his bare hands while grilling it over a burner. Drinks are self-serve, and hot tea is also available. There is a roof, but be prepared to get wet on rainy days. It gets cold from early autumn onwards, so please be careful. There are portable toilets next door. They are Japanese-style.

Cool and interesting experience. We got there before it opened and there was already a huge line, but actually everyone got a standing table at the same time. Ordering and getting the food was super quick and drinks are self service. It’s really nice to start a conversation with other people at the table and watch the spectacle when Toyo starts cooking the tuna. The food is good but nothing too amazing. The braised tuna is quite good. Only foreigners at the restaurant and weird schedules are the main down points

Initially planned on visiting Toyo on 5th Sept but they were closed due to typhoon warnings (note to self: check their Ig page for updates). I returned on 10th Sept around 45mins ahead of opening and was 2nd in line. It was great that they started service ahead of their 1pm opening time so we didnt have to wait too long. Their sashimi was thick and freshly cut, though the knife work could have been cleaner (as some sinew remained). The main highlight for most would be the broiled tuna cheeks flamethrower performance by Chef Toyo-san which started at 1:15pm for 4 rounds. The tuna cheeks were cooked to perfection, smoky, tender and worth the wait. I wanted to order their uni rolls but was told they didnt procure them (said they were 'not in season' or smth'). The vibe is casual and lively, outdoor seating behind Kyobashi station, close quarters, lots of energy. Not polished, but full of character. Come early, come hungry and please bring cash.

One of the greatest sashimi experiences I’ve ever had! The staff and owner are amazing- very professional with years of experience, dedication to their customers and committed to quality - fish that is the freshest and to the highest standards of quality. Finally tried this place that got famous after the Netflix show. First, the line might seem long but they can fit alot of customers in one sitting as we eat standing up. Second, the sashimi is very fresh, the grilled tuna is really good. I thought its gonna be dry they way he grills it and also the hype but no, the food is really good. The chef, Mr Toyo himself knows how to hype a crows. You can tell he is a kind soul, and also he tried his best to speak in English for the diversity of his customers. Overall, good performance and ambience paired with good food at a reasonable price. Would definitely return!

Packed with people who seemed like locals - we were glad to have an Osaka native with us. Don't check your cholesterol after eating here. Smoking is allowed. Fortunately we were close enough to an exit that it didn't overly impact our experience. Card payments accepted.

I come here every time I come back to Osaka. There are mixed reviews but this place is typical Osaka style Kushikatsu place. Most of local, less expensive places are similar to here. If you are not used to it or don't like it, you may not like this place. You pick up whatever you want to taste from boxes and enjoy them with drinks (I always get bottled beer). It's not easy to pick what you want because they are all brown and look similar but they can explain what they are. They can warm up them, if you ask. They calculate your bill by skewers as there are several types that have different prices. My personal favorites are, Chicken, beef, Tuna and green pepper. Oyster is pretty good in winter.

I enjoyed this local experience. A quick and easy casual place for good for a get together and chatting. Tho, I wouldn’t go expecting much from the taste and variety ... (they were out of a lot of ingredients when I went on the Saturday evening so watch out !) You can either order or pick from the tray in front of the counter !!

As is the case with everything in Osaka, you can feel the VIBES in this place. The huge shrimp stick is delicious.

I really like the atmosphere at this place - it’s packed with locals, it’s stacked with skewers, it’s flowing with beers - this is how all standing bars should feel like! The food is average kinda good; if you eat Kushikatsu enough number of times, you might find yourself liking every different stall you go to, bcos they really taste 90% alike. What I find unique about this place as well is that you can “order” the skewer of your choice and they will refry (or heat up) the skewer from the tray in front of you. Alternatively, you can simply take your pick from the tray in front of you! I notice that the locals were just picking from the tray, especially whenever the staff tops them up with fresh ones.

Taste of the food was mediocre, but the place was filled with many locals. Best item I felt was the chicken skewer which had curry powder seasoning. Fried items were left to cool so some fried skewers were cold and not crispy.

A fun kushikatsu (deep-fried skewered meat, vegetables, etc.) standing restaurant loved by the locals in Osaka, located inside Shinumeda Shokudogai. The place was filled with locals having beer at 2pm on a Monday. It is not the best kushikatsu I have had as it is quite oily but it is reasonably priced with one stick ranging from 100 to 160 yen and a drink from 350 to 700 yen. Try to stand by the kitchen so that you can see all the frying in action. However be aware that the service is not so good because they are busy running the kitchen and serving. This place is more for experiencing the Osaka culture than the taste of the food. I recommend the Pork, Quail Egg, Camembert Cheese, Kisu (Whiting fish) and Onion. Don't forget, no double dipping on the sauce!! *English menu available

We got 6 for ¥600 but you can get a better deal with larger quantities. If you get 6 it comes on a plate vs box which works if you’re eating there. The takoyaki is VERY hot so let it cool down before eating. The outside texture was really good. I gave 4 stars for the flavour but I would give 3.5 if it were an option as there is just a small piece of octopus in each.

For the price. I expect better. Some part is burned thus given off a bitter taste

The takoyakis were well prepared, however I felt that they were too hot to eat, and they use very minimum octopus. However they were still tasty. They were really fast at making them, however I think that's the same reason it's too hot to eat. When you eat them, they break, and it's really hard to eat them without making a mess.

One of the best Takoyaki in Osaka. if you prefer takoyaki with sauce, probably they are the best. Since the inside is scalding hot, be careful not to burn yourself!

Do have quality, but relatively pricey. Good thing is no crazy queuing compare to those in a more central tourist area.

I discovered this chain by coincidence on my first ever trip to Japan, since many locals were waiting in line. They sell imagawayaki (also called "obanyaki"), filled with either red or white bean paste for 110¥ per piece. Gozasoro has many shops around different train stations in Japan, you can find them easily using Google Maps! Rikumaru consistently provides great yakiniku and service across. Orders are served up promptly and portion sizes are great and consistent. We ordered the 120min wagyu set. Meat quality is excellent. Highly recommend, great value!

The best wagyu buffet in my life ! Quality of wagyu is good and others menu is good too but they forgot my other menu except steak. I asked for other menu that not come about 60 mins 3 times and then they suggest to order again after that I got it. I eat 4 steaks but it good. Finally I’m happy for good steak more than others menu ☺️

It was my first Wagyu beef and it was magnificent! Their system is also awesome and food comes right away. No need to talk to a staff for a follow up it will come right at you. Attached bill is for their 90-minute meal with Wagyu selection and unlimited soft drinks for one person.

A Fantastic Spot! I absolutely loved this place! Even though it was peak hour around 6:00 PM, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The all-you-can-eat food was delicious and totally worth the price. While there was a bit of a wait for our orders, it was completely understandable given how busy it was. The great service and amazing food made it a fantastic experience. I highly recommend it!

Best value for money all you can eat Wagyu in Osaka, absolutely delicious! Wagyu was top quality and melt in your mouth, and service was fast and very friendly! They had an english menu and the price was 7000 yen for 120min all you can eat and drink. Big recommendation, will be coming back! Kiitos!

So much better than other options in the area! Definitely get overlooked by people who aren’t looking at the stores on different levels. We got the wagyu course with unlimited drinks. The steak cuts were amazing and the drinks were delicious. Would recommend over other options near by.

I came here back in July. I was drawn to this place by the big octopus decoration on the shop, as well as the cute little octopus boxes that they serve the food in! I thought that the box was super adorable and novel! As for the food though, I liked it but I did expect it to be a bit better. The takoyaki was flavorful, but the batter was not as crispy as I was expecting it to be, and the octopus inside was a bit tough to chew. I did still enjoy it though, and I'll most certainly remember the novelty of the experience.

Dine in with 4 surprise and 4 big octopus ball. Really yummy with soft interior. The brown sauce is flavourful, tasted of plum. Very good takoyaki, recommend to dine in as you can spam the bonito flakes.

Wouldn’t recommend it. The place is filthy, from the floors, to the tables, to the bathrooms, the carpets, the walls, and the cooking area. Out of all the places we’ve been to in Japan, this is the only one that did not meet the cleaning standards. The takoyaki was alright. Some pieces were still raw in the middle so we didn’t eat all. The guy standing outside cooking was not welcoming either. Aside from this place being cheap, I don’t see the appeal. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, I wouldn’t come again.

This takoyaki spot did not live up to the hype. I've had takoyaki in many cities, at restaurants, stands, and even supermarkets. Kukuru takoyaki ranks at the level of supermarket takoyaki, but about 10x the price. Yes, the presentation looks very cool with the octopus box. But beyond that, the taste falls flat, the abundance of sauces don't help, and even the ambiance of the seating area inside is just basic. The service was bare minimum - they just took my ticket, said wait for your number to be called, then directed me to the utensils. Something that stood out was that this restaurant is run by Filipinas, not Japanese. So, this maybe that's why the taste didn't live up to the local spots I've been to. However, it may be more impressive to tourists and first-timers. At the price of 1100 jpy for a measly 8 pices of takoyaki, I expected much more. Sadly, this was my first takoyaki in Osaka. I'm hoping other shops live up to expectations.

Not the largest Don Quijote but still plenty to buy. Prices are competitive so no real need to shop around (you can find cheaper but you really really have have to search other places). The Mega stores have a slightly bigger range. This store is busy with all the tourists and cam sometimes run out of products.

5 floors of stuff! Food, gifts, vitamins, Pokémon, luggage, pens - this place is amazing! Bring money and make sure you are not in a hurry.

The store is **very tight throughout**, making maneuvering a stroller a constant challenge. 2. **Elevator Woes:** There's only **one elevator**, and the **wait times are very long**. We resorted to carrying both the baby and the folded stroller up and down the stairs – only feasible if you're strong enough. My favorite store 🤩! You can't leave japan without going to any Don Quijote! Tourists get tax-free shopping here. They have EVERYTHING here! Souvenirs, hair care, skin care, Sanrio, anime, toy cars, food, snacks, clothes, and lots more! This one located in Osaka's Dotinburi has the largest type of ferris wheel of its kind. Which was about $6 to ride. Had a blast here and staff was helpful as well.

All the fun of the fair as usual at Donki. Frenetic, not much space, several floors of everything, fast paced, music familiar and somehow not irritating, enjoyable and entertaining to wander and browse. Some people can’t stand this kind of place but I’m super keen. Has that night market feel but indoors; this alone makes it very attractive.

I will only write a review about the comfort room. Other rooms may be different. For $500 a night, the comfort room is not worth it. The size is small for the price and the amenities offered in that room didn't justify the price. A lot of item in the room was exclusively in japanese so it was hard for foreigner to interpret. At that price, the comfort suite should have been available but I was told that the only way to book it was through contact personally and the price for that was a laughable $3000 a night. Other than that, the service was really below par and as an elite member you dont really get recognition here at hotel. The staff was very disrespectful, which is surprising for japan. Perhaps because I m use to staying at top hotels, so this type of service is normal outside the top brand

Stayed here for 5 nights with small kids. The location is very convenient - first stop off the JR Haruka Express from the KIX airport. Hotel is attached to and across the road from JR train station. Lots of big malls linked to the hotel. The Subway is directly below hotel. The hotel staff were very considerate. They set up a very nice baby cot and be railings for us. Even left a small birthday present for my kid. We didn't manage to get the late check out that is usually available for members, probably b'cos the hotel is so popular and was apparently fully booked. Didn't use any facilities - briefly saw the gym and it looked pretty well equipped. I think there is no pool. The view is amazing.. Second best hotel view in all my stays so far. Best was another Marriott actually. The hotel restaurant can be better in terms of quality and offering locally sourced items. Also I saw huge amounts of food waste, but this is sadly quite commonplace in Japan from my observations. Special mention to Yuriko from room reservations department - thanks very much! Overall: highly recommended for families looking for a central city location NB: just saw an earlier review: haha.. looks like complaining works well to get freebies like lounge access. Anyway, that's not my style so I guess I wont get to enjoy the lounge anytime soon. LOL

Great location, a bit difficult to find but once you do its very convenient. The personal touches were spot on as we were celebrating our honeymoon. Great views of osaka skyline!

I had an unforgettable 5-night stay at Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel. The panoramic views from the hotel are absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is calm, elegant, and welcoming — perfect for both relaxation and leisure. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. The location is unbeatable, with direct access to public transportation, shopping centers, and a wide range of restaurants just steps away. Breakfast was one of the highlights — a generous and diverse selection of hot and cold dishes, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Osaka, whether for business or vacation. I would definitely stay here again!

Definitely one of the Worst Marriott I ever stayed! =—- Update: they did apologize for the long wait with giving me the club lounge access. Friendly staff and spacious clean rooms! I enjoyed my 4-night stay here. The breakfast buffet had nice variety, and you can also customise and order your own omelette. The view was magnificent, could see the whole Osaka One downside was the ventilation. The two rooms we stayed in had a bad smell. 😡😡😡No Netflix, No YouTube ? 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻Five years ago, whenever I traveled to Osaka, I would always choose this hotel and had stayed here many times. However, my most recent experience was extremely disappointing. I stayed from August 20, 2025, for four nights, paying an average of USD 600 per night per room. In the past, this hotel was my first choice in Osaka, but after this stay, I feel compelled to voice my dissatisfaction. This is supposed to be a five-star hotel, yet the service I received was far from five-star standard. Television in the room – The TV was not a smart TV. There was no Netflix, no YouTube. May I ask, what era are we living in now? I have stayed in three-star and four-star hotels before, and I have never encountered a hotel without a smart TV. This is simply unacceptable. When I asked the front desk staff, they even confirmed that there truly wasn’t one. That is simply ridiculous. Security – The hotel had no sense of security. When I returned to the lobby at night, I witnessed young troublemakers causing a scene, shouting and making noise in the lobby. It was obvious they were not hotel guests, and the lobby staff clearly noticed, yet they completely ignored it. How can you guarantee the safety of your guests under such circumstances? Guest quality and breakfast environment – The hotel was overcrowded with tourists, many of whom lacked basic manners. During breakfast, the restaurant was extremely noisy. Children were running around, chasing each other, and even playing with cutlery and food in public areas. Shockingly, no staff members stepped in to manage the situation. Taxi service upon departure – On the day I checked out, I asked the luggage staff to help arrange a taxi to the airport about 20 minutes later. The staff member simply told me to go to the ground floor and flag one on the street. This was incredibly unhelpful and unfriendly. I have stayed in many hotels, and your hotel does have a designated taxi pick-up and drop-off area. Why could your staff not assist me with this? I was left dragging multiple pieces of luggage by myself to the roadside to hail a taxi. If I thought that was acceptable, I would not have asked for their help in the first place. The staff showed absolutely no willingness to assist guests. Because of all these reasons, I will never stay at this hotel again when I visit Osaka in the future. There are many other hotel options in Osaka, and unfortunately, your hotel has regressed significantly — both in the quality of your guests and in the professionalism of your staff.❌❌❌

Sora Tsuruhashi Honten is a must-visit for yakiniku lovers in Osaka! The meat quality is outstanding — fresh, tender, and full of flavor. The restaurant has a lively, authentic atmosphere and the staff are friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and it’s the perfect place to enjoy Japanese barbecue with friends or family.

A deliciously fantastic Korean BBQ restaurant you can find in the Tsuruhashi area that specializes in cow organs called Hormones. The price is very cheap and reasonable, and you can enjoy many different parts of the organs. It's extremely satisfying. In the weekend, the place is very much packed but weekdays you do not need to take reservations.

So many interesting parts on the menu! Queue moves relatively quickly as eating time is limited to 70 minutes and last order is at 50 minutes. There is an English menu and waiters can speak mandarin too. The only downside is the fire cannot be controlled so the meats cook too quickly and may burn..?

Carbon monoxide poisoning aside, meat quality is pretty good though ice frozen and doesnt come cheap, ventilation defo needs some work. The 'yasai' was only 2 slices of onion (1/3 onion?) & 3 extremely thin slices(prb 1/4) of green pepper for 450yen, weirdly the most expensive raw vegetable I've seen in Japan, and a full hour of fatigue and headache after.

They had the best beef skirt I’ve ever had!! I’d love to come back next time I visit Osaka!

I have my last lunch in Osaka with my friend in this restaurant before I leave Japan today. And I would just like to say the experience was really great. The food qualities were extremely good. And the price was sensible too. The staffs were very friendly. And they were trying their very best to introduce their products and using instruction to us. At last, I was happy that I could have a short talk with one of a staff together before I left the shop. We must be back very soon and thanks for their warm treat to us!

This was my first time trying ramen with butter, and it turned out to be surprisingly delicious! Plus, they offer free seaweed that you can add as much as you like. On top of that, the waitress was super friendly — so friendly that I even felt a little shy ☺️ Highly recommend everyone to come and give it a try!

Ordered the special with shoyu and the super special with dried sardines shoyu and both were freaking amazing! The butter really makes a hugeeee difference, add the whole chunk in and you won’t regret it! Would highly recommend this place, the atmosphere is great and service is fabulous!

Lovely experience overall! First of all, the Salt ramen! There is nothing more one could ask of it. Perfect balance of salt with Umami. They also provide you with nori that gives you that additional saline nuance and umami. If you want to steer a bit away from the simple but perfect broth, they have hajikami flakes(first time seeing them, would love to buy them) that provides incredible aroma and that slight tingle to your tongue that wakes the taste buds. (Also I swear they do something to that eggs. How are they cooking them and how are they infusing the aroma..?) Another thing that I appreciated (immensly) is that they provide smaller portion of noodles. Usually when I go get ramen, I can't finish them. And by no means because I didn't like them. Even for ones I loved I left 1/3 to 1/2 portions. I hate food waste, and also I didn't want it to seem like I didn't enjoy the dish. So when Choro had smaller portion option, was relieved and actually finished the whole thing! Lastly. The overall experience outside of the food itself was somewhat different (in a good way) from other ramen restaurants I've been to. (By no means an expert, but I love my ramen. ) I felt Choro was quite spacious with a bright and light atmosphere (personally think, matching the food). Also, my first time seeing the restaurant actively collect user experience and opinion which shows what the restaurant values. Of course, the welcoming staff made the overall experience start off as and kept it amazing.

I don’t usually leave reviews for food but this ramen was the best ramen I’ve ever had in my life and my time so far in Japan! Highly recommend the dried sardine soup and the key to the ramen: hokkaido butter 🧈😭 it’s sooo good i’ll definitely be back for this! 🙌🏼 Bonus for exceptional service ☺️

An amazing Pokemon Center in Osaka, not huge but stocked with all sorts of merchandise that you'll definitely not walk away empty handed! I bought a Halloween Pumpkin Pikachu and shoulder strap Pikachu which wasn't available in the Kyoto branch. It's also next to the Pokemon Cafe and even if you haven't managed to get a booking to go there it's worth taking lots of photos and enjoying the little Pokemon Cafe store too! There are lots of Pokemon Cafe exclusives which I also didn't find in the Kyoto branch. I went on a Monday late afternoon and whilst it was busy, I was able to see everything without much waiting, buy what I wanted and queued for very little time to pay. This Pokemon store offers tax free and Kyoto doesn't so if you visit Osaka first definitely stock up mostly here!

Disappointing experience despite friendly staff The staff were kind and welcoming, which is the only reason I gave two stars. Unfortunately, the overall experience was extremely uncomfortable. The store was overcrowded, unbearably hot, and it was genuinely hard to breathe or move around. There’s barely any space to walk, and navigating through the crowd felt chaotic. Around 70% of the items didn’t have visible price tags, and I had to wait nearly an hour before I could find an employee to ask for pricing. That alone made shopping frustrating and inefficient. On top of that, the merchandise wasn’t particularly special—very few exclusives, which was disappointing for a Pokémon Center. If you're hoping for a magical or smooth shopping experience, this isn't it.

Went twice in just two days! Spent in total about 4 hours there.... really took my time to explore every corner of the shop. As a Pokémon lover, I absolutely loved it!! The place is huge, with sooooo many Pokémon goodies to choose from. There are shelves full of plushies and entire walls of keychains and cards, all really great quality. In the end, bring home a super cute sleeping Dragonite, a pair of adorable Wooper earrings, and a special shiny Ho-Oh.

The displays are fun and colorful, making it feel like stepping into the Pokémon world. Staff were friendly and helpful, and even if you don’t speak Japanese, it’s easy to enjoy browsing. There’s also a Pokémon Café next door where you can enjoy themed food and drinks (reservation recommended). DEC 2024 Ordered some takoyaki with the standard toppings and ate them inside the store as it was not that busy inside. They were freshly made and piping hot, very soft and creamy with a decent size octopus piece; very tasty.

You have to try the takoyakis when in Osaka! They are probably good everywhere but definitely yummy here! Piping hot inside so take a small bite first and don’t just put the whole thing in your mouth!

I found this incredible takoyaki spot while doing a takoyaki crawl with my friends on a guys' trip. The banner out front claimed it was in the Michelin Guide of Osaka, and it certainly lived up to the hype. It was hands down the best takoyaki I had the entire trip. We went for the variety plate and ate it on the street, which was perfect for people-watching. But a word of advice for the impatient: let them cool down! Seriously, give it about five minutes. They are literal balls of lava and will burn your mouth if you're not careful. The ordering process is straightforward. One person takes your order, another asks what toppings you'd like (I recommend getting everything), and then you pay at the end with cash or card. It was pretty busy when we went around 9 PM, but the World's Fair was also happening, so I'm not sure what the crowds are like during the off-season.

I went with the 4 kind/flavor takoyaki plate to try a bit of everything. Super cheap too at only 750 yen. Honestly they all tasted kind of similar except for the sauces on top but very delicious and made fresh so they were piping hot! There were standing tables nearby because walking and eating at the same time is a no-no.

One of the most popular takoyaki joints in the area, based on the long queue. They have some varieties to choose from. They're vulcanic hot so better wait for a while before popping into your mouth to avoid unnecessary burnt! Takoyaki is practically filled with thick hot liquid right after being cooked so it takes some cautious to properly enjoy it.

Chose to have the Takosen cos wanted a snack and I can't possibly finish 8 takoyaki myself. There were 3 balls of takoyaki sandwiched in a fairly large, round rice cracker. The takoyaki of course, were absolutely delicious and the sauce which came with it was slightly sweet and BBQish. Nothing to say much about the rice crackers cos they are plainish and does not have any taste but the takoyaki balls were pipping hot, creamy and burst with flavour. They didn't skimp on the fillings which was great (compared to those from home 🙄) and each ball had a generous amount of squid. The potato batter was fresh and kinda amazed by how they can grill them in such a way that each ball is cooked perfectly - not overcooked and dry, nor were they undercooked and raw Guess practice makes perfect..

It is one of the most popular Takoyaki in Osaka and very delicious. If you arrive in Osaka, you should try to eat it.

Kushikatsu is nicely fried and goes well with the other drinks at this casual place. Most complain about the appetizer fee, but it's common in some shops. Some negative reviews also show a completely different place that should be addressed. For what it is, it's a place to have kushikatsu and highball.

Very blah..I went to Ikinari steak after. I'll give 2 stars for good atmosphere. When I entered I wanted to read about the 330 service charge but the girl immediately jumped in between me and the board and led me to a table. When I got the bill, the server presented the bill hoping I didn't see the 330 service charge but I didn't care because I was already aware of it. The food here has no taste. I can't believe how many people were here which I thought indicated it must be really good. Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews first. I ate only some of it before I left. I hate wasting food and money but I still needed real food so thankfully there was a steak house nearby.

Amazing deep fried food. Don't be afraid to try the cream puff and the cake items, they are surprisingly good! Some staffs are able to speak and understand English so that's pretty helpful. They warned us about the table service charge which is kind of a tradition in Japan and they will offer a small plate of vegetables to sort of account for the table charge. The seafood were good too as well as vegetables like onion and eggplant. The okonomiyaki was decent, took awhile to come though. The omelette pork was nice and flowy on the inside. The beef and pork not that great though that's why 4 stars.

Foreigners stay out. Had to follow up many times for my food. When others who sat after us received their meals, we were still waiting for drinks. Food was just ok and the table charge and service charge are added at the end. Definitely expensive for its location and value.

Got in at 9pm to dine here. Our local friends were walking with us and my son said let’s try this place. Mind you this alley is a tourist trap. Every single establishment requires you to pay a service fee and to order a drink per person and spend a certain amount. So try another street for food. There are tons of cool spots to dine in without a 366 yen service fee. Just for appetizers that don’t look appealing. Not worth it. The service was okay. The girl that works here is very nice and the cashier. The server sat us and then dropped 2 appetizers that we didn’t want to eat. He was cleaning the counter next to us, and I felt the cleaning spray go on the top of my hand annd wrist, and watched it go into the appetizers. Another server came by and I told him with my translator from English to Japanese. There was cleaning spray in our food. So he took it away and gave us new ones. It didn’t look appetizing so we didn’t eat it. We ordered Kushi Katsu and it is way better than most of the restaurants in this alley. I ordered the pickled cucumber and that was refreshing too! This is definitely a spot to drink alcohol after 9:30pm. Kids are not allowed past 9:30pm here so we had to order fast at 9pm. The calpico that my son ordered was good and my iced oolong tea was good too! Only come to this establishment for drinking alcohol. Not kid friendly at all.

I came in thinking I like the spaciousness and ambiance and ok if priced high but didn’t expect food not to be good. Our main dish was Kobe beef hot pot and it tasted bad. The soup was so sweet and the meat was too low grade. They also messed up the order claiming we punched in wrongly. But truth matter we didn’t order items and when they modified our order, the back end must have gotten messed up. When we told server we didn’t order, he said we had to take the order.

Food was awful. We ordered stir fired beef oval with no beef at all, but plenty of beef intestines that were tasteless. The waitress carying our rice was holding the bowl with her fingers in the bowl. Hygiene was questionable as well. Tables were not wiped and even the floors were all sticky. And as a cherry on top, there was a huge cockroach running around. Not recommend!

Normally we only see takoyaki selling as food stalls for takeaway. I wonder to see this restaurant making takoyaki only with a lots of tables. It’s tasty and tender. Takoyaki Gratin is like lasagna or spaghetti carbonara. Worth to try.

A simple reasonably priced Japanese food stall that offer some great regional cuisine. I tried their signature Akashiyaki for the very first time. Akashiyaki had a softer, eggy texture and it came with a small bowl of bonito-based-broth for dipping. Unlike Takoyaki that topped with a thick sauce, I can truly tasted the fluffy egg dough and the chewy octopus. I also enjoyed other dishes such as oden, raw marinated squids and yakisoba. However, their grilled ox tongues and octopus were less impressive. I would say overall, is a 3.5 rating!

Located under the Hankyu station, B2F. Plenty of empty seats at 11:30am. It was my first akashiyaki and they were pretty good (650 yens for 8 pieces). The tako piece inside is big and chewy! They give us two bowls of dashi so each one of us had our own. We also got takoyaki (600 yens for 8 pieces): there wasn't any bonito flakes and you can put the topping yourself if you eat in. They were just ok, I prefered the akashiyaki. They have English menu. Quick and friendly service, they showed us how to eat. Be careful it's piping hot inside!

Nice takoyaki and fried noodle. I have been here twice, personally prefer crispy service takoyaki while this store offers fluffy one which is not bad. There is a line so I feel pressured to finish my food quickly and leave.

Variety choices of menu to choose from. You can pair takoyaki with yakisoba or omonomiyaki and other things they have. They also offer set with drinks which was very convenient. Also, the service was very fast and kind. Very good service. Food doesnt take long cos they take order while you are in queue which is very organized.

One of the better takoyaki places in Osaka. It's underground and cooler than walking on the surface road.

Tho I think this hostel is reasonable & is located right in the middle of the city, accessible everywhere in town, I’d highly recommend those who are travelling on a budget or those that is solo. Their bathroom is definitely clean to accommodate a 7 storey hostel. Their capsule bed was quite spacious I gotta say. One thing I’d wish about this place is that they’re able to tell us about refilling water at the common area, to be able to have the bed made for us & to have slippers to be provided for free.

•Only a 10-minute walk to Dotonbori – an excellent location! •The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. •There are plenty of convenience stores nearby, and even a 24-hour supermarket within walking distance! • The breakfast udon set is absolutely luxurious. •It keeps you full until the early afternoon.

Great place to stay for first timers to Osaka. Great location, friendly and helpful staff, rooms clean and tidy and facilities always available. They take good care to make sure that all the common areas are clean. We had the 4 bed family room. spacious enough for us (2A, 2C)

I absolutely loved my stay at this hostel in Osaka! The dormitory was amazing—so spacious. The room is already big, but the bed space is also incredibly spacious, giving you plenty of comfort and privacy. On top of that, they provide a separate area for large luggage inside the room. They even have a dedicated rack for shoes, which is super convenient. The communal room was perfect for cooking and connecting with other guests, creating such a friendly atmosphere. Plus, there’s a convenience store just around the corner, and Dotonbori is only a 10-minute walk away. Everything about this place was just perfect—highly recommend!

A very nice hostel if you are going on a budget vacation. The capsule is quite big and full equipment. You can have an iron and a hairdryer also. The bathroom is very clean. The shower room is also and they have enough room for all the guests so you never have to wait.

Value for money.. I recommend booking in advance to get discounts...Also the hostel has all amenities, shared kitchen, elevators, clean washrooms.. its 2 min walk from Nagahoribashi station 6th exit so that makes it very convenient.. Pro Tip : if you have luggage take exit 3 for elevators and exit 6 and 7 doesn't have elevators.. its still just 5 mins walk from exit 3.

Very comfortable stay at the hostel, room was very quiet during night time. Mattress was also surprisingly comfortable. Water pressure from the shower was very strong. Only downside is other customers’ litter around the powder room area which I think its on them than the hostel. Overall I would recommend this hostel!

I went there today (15.05.2025) around 6pm. The young male shopkeeper is the most courteous person I have ever encountered in the trip, which made the Madagascar custard grilled cake even tastier.

I have been wondering this cake for a long time and it was worth it. They only take cash. There are 3 kinds: sweet red bean, cheese and custard which I ate. It was hot, you can watch while making it. The putside of the dough was crunchy.

Street food atmosphere. Fast service. The best taiyaki I've tasted. The batter is thin and crisp. The red bean paste filling is not too sweet. The custard is a refreshing choice. Sweet potato filling is also a nice change from the traditional red bean paste.

Super thin and crispy crust that I have not found elsewhere. Highly recommended!

Awesome taiyaki stand! They put so much filling. Choice of red bean or sweet potato and it costs about ¥180. We only tried the sweet potato and it was so good we came back the next day. We also tried the wafer ice cream (¥120), yum!

I’ll preface by saying service and vibe was very nice, the chef and assistant were working hard on the orders and I appreciated that. That being said, this is a pricey experience and I expect the food to be good. The skewers being served were all very similar - the only seasoning used is salt so by the third skewer you can tell it’s very one dimensional. Me and a few of the other guests did not enjoy the liver which was too rare. Also, just saw the review regarding food poisoning so I would eat here with caution.

I ate at the original Yakitori Goichi store. It was the most delicious yakitori you could eat in an atmosphere like downtown Osaka. I was happy that they served a lot of liver and eggs. It was a course of about 9,000 yen with all-you-can-drink alcohol, so I ended up drinking too much.

It's good chicken but the seasonings are the same for every piece so it starts to get repetitive after a while. I've had better yakitori elsewhere.
