Customers praise the catering packs and customer service, with options like meat/cheese platters and fruit platters available. The pies are described as delicious with flaky pastry and high-quality fillings such as beef or curry. Additionally, they offer a selection of cakes for those with a sweet tooth.
Awesome neat pies, some of the best I have had in many, many years! Delicious flaky pastry, nice big chunks of Top quality beef, full of flavour gravy. 10/10, 2 thumbs up, very happy belly! I had the chunky beef pie. Awesome. And a curry beef pie. Just as awesome. Best pies in Cairns! Also a good selection of cakes
Scott M — Google review
I like the pie with garlic vert much. The roasted garlic flakes adds an extra layer to the flavor which makes the pie unique and flavourful. The pepper steak pie was decent but the curry pie was a bit of let down.
Li Y — Google review
Quite simple really the one stop shop for comfort food! Came here almost every day gorgeous pies, mash potato, mushy peas (better than my Mum's) and the most flavourful gravy you would want to eat, boy THAT gravy was so good I'd happily drink it out of a glass if there was any left over, which there wasn't. From savoury to sweet, lovely apple pies and meringues, if you sit here, you'll see the world go by, from your local police officer's to office workers they all start their day here, so here you know it must be good right?
Carl — Google review
I ordered cauliflower and broccoli pie with gravy as the one I wanted was not available. The pie was well cooked and flavoursome. However, the gravy was too salty. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Sanjiv M — Google review
Amazing range of pies! All very tasty and great with the gravy, mash and pea toppings. Difficult to take a pretty photo but who cares when it tastes so good! Definitely worth a visit for lunch if you're a fan of pies 👍
Daniel S — Google review
I am very pleased to announce that the most popular & delicious pies at Meldrums have been restored!!! Hoooraaaayy!! Last time I had it after the old owners left, it was terrible, filling was only half & not pleasant at all 😔 Only recently a colleague of mine & my daughter advised that Meldrums is back on track! They were not wrong! Hubby & I had brekky there this morning, I ordered the Hot chilli, (it's pretty hot so just heads up!) steak & cheese pie & he ordered the steak & mushroom pie which was absolutely delicious, fresh & hot!!! 😍 Calling all my fellow Kiwis & Polynesians who love pies & miss the bakery back home, PLEASE come back & get your pies from Meldrums! You won't be disappointed!! The old owner returned to spend 4 months with the current baker & taught him how to make it the winning Medrum's way! (*corrected) Thank goodness for that!!! 😍 Thank you Meldrums! Glad to have you back!! Haha P.S: The staff are super friendly & have a happy-go-lucky vibe plus they have a Meldrums Loyalty card!! Amazing!
Nomai B — Google review
Tasty pie! It was crunchy and the favourite types of my husband. Muffin was average. Definitely try the pie! Will go again.

Best pies ive ever had. Steak Diane, garlic sauce mushroom, mushroom and pepper steak absolutely amazing. The wife loves the curry chicken and Moroccan lamb fantastic pies. Go even better with peas, mash potato and gravy

Baked On Red Hill is a delightful gem for pastry lovers, boasting an impressive array of baked goods that will tantalize your taste buds. With 20 years of baking expertise, the chef has perfected their mushroom pie, which features tender meat and just the right amount of mushrooms—truly a must-try! The coffee served here is equally exceptional, crafted to perfection even by those who own cafes themselves. Families can indulge in freshly made scones topped with real cream that strikes the perfect balance.
Baked On Red Hill is a very popular local bakery, with heaps of options if you are hungry. You can sit outside and enjoy your food undercover with a coffee. Love it!
Rob P — Google review
Traveled all the way from the city to visit and try the famous bakery here. They have so many options, from sweet to savory. I love the croissant! Even the plain one is so good. Despite the service not being excellent—the staff didn’t ask if I wanted the sandwich toasted or offer cutlery until I requested it—I enjoyed the food. I would also prefer if they placed the mini tarts on a tray instead of just in a paper bag. They put everything in a takeaway bag even if you’re dining in
Sanny Y — Google review
Best Almond croissant I've ever had. Not cheap but great quality. Paris brest is also great
Jeff M — Google review
Consistently exceed expectations. Delivery service is good and food is amazing quality.
Ross S — Google review
Best almond croissant in Cairns….. Maybe ever🤔 Tried them first from the stand they have at Rustys(don’t go too late or they’ll be sold out guys) and have wanted to go to the bakery ever since. Today we finally got there.Later than we’d hope so the selection was not the full selection but still much more than on offer at their Rusty’s location. We had the trusty almond croissant, a chocolate entremet, blackberry cruffin & the star of the show was the lemon meringue tart. Absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to get back and try some more goodies. They are decent sized nice outdoor seating area sheltered from the sun, and service a selection of coffees(white whale - roasted in Cairns) and teas, juices etc. If you’ve got a car, I promise it’s worth the drive out🤤
DJ O — Google review
The service was fantastic. The young Irish girl was very friendly, with great customer service. The pies were awesome. The pie pastry was one of the best I've had in Cairns. Being a qualified baker myself, it tasted a lot like flaky pastry. The pies were nice and hot with plenty of chunky steak. I also bought one of each of the sweet tarts and slices available. I think about 8 all together. Shared them with the family when I got home. The winner was the lemon meringue pie, tart. The strawberry and the blackberry tart was delightful too 😋
Kate B — Google review
Great bakery with really friendly staff. The shop’s clean and well set up. The pork sausage rolls are seriously amazing — crispy, full of flavor, and always fresh. Definitely worth stopping by.
Jonathan H — Google review
Best raspberry tart I’ve had! My husband had croffin. It was delish! We also bought farmhouse bread.

Donut King Cairns Stockland is a well-established chain known for its wide variety of classic and uniquely shaped donuts, as well as offerings like hot dogs and milkshakes. Visitors rave about the delicious cinnamon donuts, along with other delectable treats such as frappes and an assortment of iced options. The fresh and hot cinnamon donuts are particularly popular for their soft and moist texture, making them a must-try at this location.
Have visited this Donut King a lot the past couple weeks. The customer service is GREAT! My Iced Latte was always made amazing and the fresh hot donuts were so good. I tried the one in Central Mall but this one is for better!!
Honest R — Google review
Customer Service has a lot to be desired. The girl serving or a better word pretending to serve had a angry face who needed everything repeated twice, not because she is hard of hearing but because she was angry, unhappy and didn't want to be there. Go home and stop making others experience as miserable as yours.. hot dog was not the best watered down tomato sauce. Iced do nut lovely.
Jenny I — Google review
I was told to move I was eating sushi, And was about to order a donut. I was in the middle of my lunch break and Hayley Told me I had to move as I had not ordered anything from there YET ! put a sign up and tech your children you have working for you to learn some manners and speak kindly to people. She embarrassed me inform of the other people sat around me and they all laughed at her thanks Hayley for try ruining my lunch break
Andrew D — Google review
It was lovely experience, I had great service by a lovely lady called Samantha she gave me good option on what donuts I should try and she also made a lovely latte that I had with my cinnamon scroll. I am definitely come back to this donut king when I’m back in town.
Lisa — Google review
Tell the boss I'll be his number one fan when they go back to custard "filled" donuts, not just a little dab. I call them custard "stingy" donuts. Not happy.
Ian S — Google review
Never eaten a single donut from here but oh my goodness the coffees they make me are just perfection. They are the only ones that can make my coffee the way I like it and when I got one in Cairns central I thought it would be just as good. It wasn’t. Stockland Cairns is the best coffee anywhere.
Elfa L — Google review
Rude, inconsiderate staff who serve whichever customer pushes their way to the front of the queue. Don’t worry about the people who wait patiently in the line to be served. Plenty of other stores to go to instead
Gareth W — Google review
The lovely Teagan captured me with her outstanding service. It is unusual these days. The owners better hold on to her. Good work Teagan! You will go far! The coffee was beautiful too.

Annabel's Bakery is a bakery in Cairns that specializes in coffee and pastries. The staff are always friendly and helpful, making it a great place to stop for lunch. The baked goods are reasonably priced and always fresh.
Loved this place since I was a kid! Great food, incredible prices and convenient location! $24.90 for two pies, a sausage roll, a cupcake and a cream bun! In the top three cup cakes I’ve ever had too!
Lotus J — Google review
This is the best bakery in Cairns! Everything they sell is fresh and tasty. Great customer service make this bakery a must stop in Cairns North!
Rob P — Google review
Just returned from a week in Cairns and I tried probably more pies than I should have. Annabel's was the best by a country mile.
Daniel R — Google review
Cheese and bacon roll was dry, tasteless and over salted. I took less than 30 seconds to decide on what I wanted trying to be quick because I know ppl hate standing there, waiting, eventhough it's part of the job. I started to place my order and looked up to see no one standing there, the woman behind the counter was over talking to the other two women in the kitchen, so I gad to wait for her to realise I was ready to order.
Bea P — Google review
I had such a great time at Annabel’s during our vacation! We loved the first time so we went back the next day! The latte is amazing, would recommend with a bit of sugar. The pies are phenomenal, would recommend the steak & cheese, beef curry!! The beef curry was about gone around 10am so get them quick! The art on the coffees are just a bonus! Also the staff are lovely, and always greet you with a smile. I mainly grabbed it for takeout but there weren’t that many seats inside I don’t think.
Emily Z — Google review
My apple turnover today was very disppointing! The pastry was undercooked, very pale and condensed, not puffed up and golden. I love pastries, but this one made me feel sick. On the plus side, the apple filling was nice.
W — Google review
Have always loved everything about Annabels - especially the new shop but 22/4/2025 I purchased two sausages rolls to take to work for morning tea. They were bland and tasteless and the pastry was not flaky or cooked properly. This poor experience won't stop me from going there but I wanted you to know that they were not up to standard
Sharon R — Google review
I’m a visitor from northern NSW and have been told to come to this bakery but I wasn’t made aware that the lady making sandwiches today was going to get so put out and roll her eyes at us because we wanted 3 sandwiches we left very disappointed so tourists be aware there’s other places to get lunch in cairns with staff who aren’t rude

Nestled in the heart of Cairns, Blossom Bakery is a delightful gem that truly stands out among the Northern Beaches' culinary offerings. This charming bakery specializes in an array of fresh and exotic breads, perfect for elevating your lunchtime sandwiches. Whether you're craving whole grain or rye, there's something to satisfy every palate. For those seeking convenience, their selection of healthy premade rolls makes lunch a breeze.
My Banh mi roll had so much filling, very fresh too. Delicious almond croissant. Friends had donuts and a spinach and cheese pastry. They were also delighted. The owners are beautiful- very friendly and give fantastic service.
Joyce L — Google review
Very disappointed, walked in to not even have a hello or a smile from the young girl who served us. Then paid $8.50 for a beef , cheese and bacon pie which was terrible the filling of the pie was solid and grey and a sausage roll which had cut up sausage through out it. Definitely won’t be coming back here.
Tahlee M — Google review
$9.50 for a pie… it had very little meat, and the meat it did contain was chewy and low quality, with the filling mostly a lard-like substance—it was not enjoyable at all. Hoping the $9 pastry would redeem the experience, I tried it, but it was small and completely flavourless. On top of that, the young girl serving could at least smile or pretend she wants to be there. Overall, I did not feel this was worth the price—$21 for a pie, small pastry, and a drink. The only positive was the drink, which was pre-packaged.
Jacob O — Google review
Real handmade baguettes, sourdough and pastries. Best bread on the northern beaches.
Khalil S — Google review
The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. My dad especially loves their salad/meat rolls and donuts. When I went with my friend, we wanted to share a loaf of bread and some pasties. They were so kind to seperate it into seperate packaging for us.
Cassidy D — Google review
Pies $9.50 for the price you would think gourmet .Think again .The gravy Tasted absolutely disgusting what filling there was,was putrid.Coles home brand pies are better. The sausage roll $7.50. May aswell roll up a seasoned piece of bread in some pastry .Not happy will never go back .
Belinda O — Google review
Bought some pastries for breakfast. The almond croissant is delicious. I was craving for cinnamon donuts and they had some - juicy and right amount of sweetness. Will definitely swing by again!
N J — Google review
I had to wait for client to finish appt next door and thought I'd grab an almond croissant. So small and very dry and not cheap so I didn't eat it. The girl serving didn't smile once...didn't look happy...I guess we all have those days....

Customers have raved about the delicious cakes, with particular praise for the light sponge, delectable chocolate, and perfect finishing touches like raspberries and chocolate-covered strawberries.
Bakers Knot Bakery did a great job on my nephews birthday cake. We asked for vanilla sponge with cream layers and chocolate decorations and this is what they came up with. We were very happy with the result and the cake was delicious and everything we asked for. Thank you all so much for the great job and the service was excellent from ordering to pick up.

What a fantastic cake! The staff were wonderful and spent time to accommodate my needs and went above and beyond to produce a cake within a few hours! The cake looked magnificent and tasted perfect. We had it for my partners birthday and all 6 of us totally loved it! The sponge was light, the chocolate was delicious and raspberries & chocolate covered strawberries finished it off perfectly. Thank you to all at the bakery - you guys are amazing.

Travelling through cairns and found THE BEST cheese and bacon pies and sausage rolls we’ve had in a long time. The sweets were delicious as well - we had jam donuts and the wonderfully named knot donut. The owner was lovely, giving us so many ideas of places to go and see. Lovely to get advice from a local and have a chat while having something to eat. We will definitely come back again next time we’re in cairns! ❤️

This beautiful bakery is a true gem in the heart of Cairns. Not only are the products absolutely delicious (my favourites are the cinnamon donuts and cream buns!), but the staff are friendly, welcoming and a pleasure to talk to. There's a wide variety of cakes, pies, pastries, etc; and you can also get a coffee or hot chocolate. Scott and his team are absolutely wonderful! I can only highly recommend this lovely bakery!

Apologies for the overdue review. Big thanks to Scott who assisted with my little one’s birthday cake in April. We will never forget the incredible cake and your dedication to making the day so fun on her special day. And while injured, I still appreciate it so much. Really grateful for all you did to bring some magic to my children’s visit. We are looking forward to coming back next time we visit! Highly recommended, so glad I found Bakers Knot.

Don’t wast your time looking around. We looked for the best baker in cairns to get a birthday cake for our son and we found it. The quality and helpfulness of this shop can not be understated. A big thanks to the staff, they were awesome. My son recons its the best cake he has ever had. Thank you so much for going out of your way to make sure we had it in time when you had no time. Highly recommend.
John W — Google review
I am away from home staying in an holiday apartment and committed to providing desserts for a friends casual pizza night for fourteen people before I found out that next day is a public holiday . The next morning at 11:00 we venture out and sure enough most shops are closed but the bakery on Abbot Street , Cairns is open . I had a conversation explaining my predicament to the amiable baker who offered all sorts of options including other businesses like IGA , Night Owl before volunteering to bake two apple strudels by 16:00 . He duly performed and they were ready as promised . He truly went above and beyond not only did he produce them on time but they were magnificent, really really nice . He is a credit to his trade/art , to hospitality and to the region as a whole in terms of earning tourism good will points .
