The play equipment is all in great condition and there are many an employee about who are tending to the landscaping and cleanliness of the Esplanade There are public bathrooms and showers available along with a water play area for little ones. Overall a wonderful place to take the family for some time together.

This has got to be one of the best playgrounds in the world. It's the best I've ever seen, has everything for all ages. A nice cafe nearby and great view of the ocean. A must visit if you have kids and are in Cairns!

What an amazing playground, for children of all ages. It's cleaned regularly by council which makes it a lovely experience. It's surrounded by trees for shade, lots of seating for parents to watch, and lots of different play equipment and water activities for the children. There are even toilets and a cafe for a cuppa. The best park I've been to in years! 5 stars for originality, colour and fun!

its one of the best places to eat in town i love the beachside view the atmosphere the food is amazing 100% worth going to if you live in the area can be busy sometimes but its worth it.

The atmosphere is remarkably serene, making it an ideal setting for children to have fun. The pristine river that meanders through the heart of the area offers plenty of space for children to swim and play. It is worth noting that parking availability might be limited on weekends, so arriving early is advisable.

One of the bigger parks in Cairnd area. Perks are the accessibilty of the site. Ample parking across different areas which is great. Bathrooms! With soap and water. Play area for the kids as well.

A lovely public park. Big open areas for on- and off- leash dog play. Plus walking tacks through rainforest and a river. There are also several picnic benches and other seating areas around the park, and a kids play area. Bring bug spray- some mozzies in the bushes.

A piece of paradise at only 9 kilometres from Cairns City Centre. 🌴 I often go chill in the water early in the morning and almost always have the place to myself for hours, not counting the dog walkers. It's especially heavenly in summer, when it's just too hot at the beach, where shade is hard to find and the water gets a tad p¡ss warm. 😄 It gets a bit busy and noisy at 🕒 and on the weekends, but I'm very happy to share this GORGEOUS place. 💚

Highly recommend bringing your dog here. Many different spots for your dog to swim. Shallow and deep. Water is crystal clear. Beautiful spot to swim aswell. Nice and cold but refreshing! I came mid morning during a week day and found it not to busy. Most the dogs are friendly or well trained. I kept ours on a lead as he is still a pup and had no issues. For anyone wanting to know.. there is no crocs here. Just a few small fish in the deeper spots.

This is a really great park! It has excellent play equipment and a river that has good flow but still great to swim in. It also had an off leash dog park and BBQs, but they are wood fired

Puppy dream!! My little one loves this place so much - beautiful long walks through jungle, creeks, and cane fields. There aren’t many dog friendly places like it in such a close distance

I visited on a Sunday, and the place was lively with people of all ages,from small children to elderly couples. By around 1pm, more and more people had arrived to sunbathe, and it got to the point where there were hardly any spots left to sit. Still, the pool itself wasn’t too crowded, and it was a very comfortable and relaxing experience overall.🏊‍♂️ While sitting by the pool and chatting with a friend, we noticed an older man across from us staring in our direction for nearly an hour. As we were getting ready to leave, he suddenly approached and said he was going to teach us how to swim. We politely declined, saying we had to go, and he walked away. To be honest, it didn’t leave a very good impression, and I would suggest being cautious if someone like that approaches you. It seemed like he was specifically targeting people who looked like tourists. Frankly, it felt like he may have had other intentions, possibly just wanting to touch someone. Other than that, there were no real issues with the place. Some people say public pools can have an unpleasant smell, but I didn’t notice any urine smell at all The depth of the water goes up to 1.55m in the deeper areas, so you can comfortably submerge up to your neck, which made it even more enjoyable.

Loved comming here on my holiday. Such a great way to have free fun. There are toilets and showers and if you are travelling solo like me or you need somewhere to put your stuff you can use the pay lockers.

Beautiful one day, perfect the next! 🌴✨ The Cairns Esplanade Lagoon is absolutely stunning — crystal-clear waters, great facilities, and such a relaxing vibe. Perfect spot for a swim, sunbake, or just taking in the tropical atmosphere. A must-visit when in Cairns!

A large, free saltwater swimming lagoon right on the Esplanade. It’s well-maintained, has lifeguards, public toilets, and showers. Even if you’re not swimming, it’s a nice place to walk past or sit near. We visited in the morning when it was quiet, and the view was amazing! It’s open Thursday through Tuesday 6 AM to 9 PM and on Wednesdays from noon to 9 PM - per the website when I wrote this review.

Awesome like the best of a beach and the best of a pool all put together. Make sand castles without the waves crashing up and knocking them down. Walk into the pool with sand at your feet. Plenty of cafes and shady grass spots around to. Plus it has a manned life guard tower

I didn't know the lagoon existed until we walked the esplanade and came across it. It is remarkably clean and well maintained. The surrounding grass and boardwalk are is also well maintained, there are bbq facilities and even powerpoints for charging devices. There were 2 life guards on duty every time we were there. The toilets were clean, however the showers needed to be cleaned when we were there. It's fantastic to have such good facilities free to the public. It was better here than at the Novotel where we were staying.

The Cairns Esplanade Lagoon is hands down one of the best public swimming pools I’ve been to! It’s a fantastic place to cool off, especially with the tropical heat. The location is perfect—right on the waterfront, offering stunning views of the Coral Sea. The pool itself is huge, well-maintained, and has plenty of shallow areas, making it great for families with kids as well as adults just looking to relax. One of the things I love most is that it’s completely free! It’s rare to find such a high-quality public facility at no cost. There are lifeguards on duty, which adds a layer of safety, and the water is always crystal clear. The surrounding area is also great, with BBQ facilities, shaded spots, and plenty of seating for those who just want to enjoy the atmosphere.

Beautiful gardens. Great place to go for a walk and enjoy the sights it has to offer. You can stroll around at your own leisure. Lots of amazing plants and flowers to take a photo of. You can even sit in the grass areas and enjoy a picnic.

The Cairns Botanical Gardens are a must-visit for anyone who enjoys botanical gardens or is spending time in the area with kids. The variety and beauty of the plants on display are simply stunning, and the gardens are so well maintained that every path feels like a new discovery. We especially enjoyed the scenic boardwalk and the lookout over the lake—it’s peaceful and offers a lovely view of the surrounding nature. The nature playground was a hit with the kids, and there were plenty of great spots to grab a bite or relax with a picnic. A perfect blend of natural beauty and family-friendly amenities!

Tropical rainforest style botanical gardens with gorgeous rustic paths running alongside rivers winding their way through the gardens. A space of tranquility and calm, you will be sure to leave this place feeling calm, rested, and rejuvenated.

Very nice lots of exotic plants - We spent three hours here. It was very pleasant- cool in the rainforest shade out of the hot sun. Nice lakes to walk beside where we saw several turtles, 9 inch fish. Scrub turkeys, some other birds and ducks.

Beautiful spot. Friends of the Gardens run tours at 10am Mon to Fri and there's a bird tour Tuesdays at 7.30am! Look out for the Friends of the Garden visitors centre as well as the council run visitors centre - lots of awesome souvenirs in both, with Friends of the Garden very decently priced.

Cairns Botanic Gardens is a pleasant place to visit with a cozy little café and clean restrooms. It’s a peaceful spot with some nice walking paths and tropical plants. However, compared to botanic gardens in larger Australian cities, it’s relatively small and doesn’t feel as well-maintained. Worth a quick visit if you’re nearby, but not particularly impressive overall.

Absolutely great place for kids and families. Beautiful play spaces and gardens right in centre of suburbia. Grandson loves it!

It's a really lovely place for young children to play and learn. Quite accessible but at the time of visiting the water play systems weren't working, the kids still enjoyed themselves however.

This is the best play ground I’ve ever come across the kids love it. Cairns city council and the botanical gardens have done a great job. Just don’t forget your insect repellent.

If you love nature and the environment check out Centenary Lakes. This area is a real asset to Cairns. Keep any little ones away from the water though, just in case there is a croc hiding nearby.

Good playground for all ages ! Plenty to explore and was covered nicely by the trees, water to play with, different climbing areas and lots to do and see ! The kids had great fun building the huts too ! Would be great if the sensory garden area was looked after. Nothing there but some half dead mint and nothing signage wise to give us some clues as to what else could be there.

FUN IN NATURE! I love taking my kids here. Such a unique design that really incorporates the beautiful environment around it. Located close to the Centenary Lakes, wheelchair accessible and toilets close by. The kids will have a ball here and they can even go and check out the ducks after :) Beautiful place for a picnic!

I enjoyed a walk there in the afternoon, because it was relaxing and interesting, with some birds and a squirrel-like animal (I don't know the name).

Cat empire played 2025 Great venue with plenty of space to chill or dance The landscaping is top notch. The entrance has good amount of space to comfortably and quickly enter and exit, with side gates that open on exit. Toilet were only issue, line ups were confusing and took ages because the portaloos were squeezed into the back with half of what was needed.

Nice park with open areas and shaded too - good for concerts with nice night time ambience Only issue is that I just walked through it and got hassled by some dishevelled rough sleepers which wasn't a comfortable experience so just need to keep an eye out

Nice park in Cairns, just north of the CBD, and a block or two inland from the hospital. In between Grafton and Sheridan Streets. Multi-purpose, with a big stage in the middle and grass seating to enjoy the odd performances. At the northern end of the park, more trees and shrubs. Park is gated. Only a few entry and exit points.

What a great venue, and Xavier was fantastic. It was my first time hearing his music and I was very impressed.

Not much selection of food chips and nuggets, slowly going downhill needs a lot of maintenance and needs more shade as middle of the day you cook your feet on the concrete. Even sitting water might give you 3rd degree burns. Needs some TLC.

Family playgrounds. Fenced play area. Bbq and plenty of chairs and wheelchair and pram friendly or for leisurely walking park lands and orchard. Fruit everywhere. Take your rubbish with you. And a must visit for tourists. Good information on the tree and orchards here. And a lovely old steam train exhibit for the children and young at heart to view only. Plenty of shade and good amenities for toilets and shade and bins provided. Come and be tranquil or squeal with delight over this wonderful free adventure space.

Great place to spend the day with the kids. Easy to access toilets, lockers, cafe that provides food and drinks including coffee and tea. They have guards on patrol but parental supervision is still required. Kids always have ball. Can get overcrowded which is expected so arrive early to secure a good spot.

Great area to bring the kids and play, whether going to the slides or not the gardens have an all access gated playground and beautiful gardens with a variety of tropical fruit trees on display

I loved it here. I saw some beautiful peacocks and many interesting tropical fruit trees. I will come back again when I am in the area.

I give this a four because we had a great day out as a family. The park is old and has seen better days although $60. For a family of four is reasonable. There was little to no wait for slides. Some stuff looked really disinterest in their job

Great little play area and setting next to the sea is awesome. Watch out for midges and mosquitoes though. Definitely use repellent at all times. There are public toilets nearby but I would suggest a walk along the Esplanade to muddys water play area probably about 15 minutes walk., there is a cafe and the toilets are better.

A small, but pleasant playground, with some ship-themed climbing equipment, and located close to the beach. Nice for a quick picnic or lunch stop, and letting the kids play.

Cairns esplanade is one of the best with many options for barbecue, kids play grounds, swimming, watch the sunset, etc. Any time of the day or night is worth a stroll up the esplanade or a picnic or barbecue

An interesting playground built around a huge fig tree. Both adults and kids have fun in this playground.

This playground would be awesome if most of it wasn’t blocked off with construction fence.

One of the more interesting tree house spotted that even adults are tempted to play hide and seek amongst and in between the branches. Below the tree house is not less beckoning especially with the serene water backdrop and the sound of docking ship blowing its horn. We really enjoy this park. People watching, reading on the many wooden benches and two eatery premises on offer. One corner is Hemingway's Brewery (spotted people playing billiard table inside) and Wharf One Cafe on the other end. A must for us strollers.

Great park built around a massive fig tree. Best part is that it is completely shaded by the tree. And there's a cafe right next to it!

Very intricate adventure space for kids. Public restroom and cafe nearby. Uniquely built around a giant banyan tree. Possibly the greatest climbing tree ever.

What a beautiful, pristine area. It's in a good, secluded location (away from traffic and noise), it is always very well maintained and the paths make it accessible for anyone. There's a lot of wildlife to be seen here. There are crocodiles living peacefully in the water so don't venture too close to the edge of the water. If you have binoculars, bring them along to see the birdlife - best found in the morning! We're blessed to have this beautiful place here.

Wish we had more time to sit here as there are bird watching blinds. It's much nicer than I expected and walks are all easy and flat graded. My son even found a snake skin.

Beautiful wetland environment, lots of birds and lots of mosquitoes, take repellent or you’ll get attacked. Palm forest boardwalk is well worth a visit. Tracks are mostly paved so pram and wheelchair friendly.

Really beautiful wetland location, and an absolute must for birders visiting Cairns. It's broken into two main types of wetland: well-maintained tourist friendly walks around the major lakes. These routes allow you to see most of the major water birds (pygmy geese, spoonbills, jacanas, etc), but don't have all that much else. Facilities along this route are great. There a bird huts, picnic tables, toilets, plenty of chairs overlooking the lakes, and several places to drink and refill water bottles. There is also a less easily walked set of paths (easily accessible from the main paths or from the main road that runs alongside the wetlands) that go through other parts of the wetland including the Fairy Wren Billabong, through woods and shrubby areas. These paths are not always not well maintained, and at times are more like animal tracks than human paths (prepare to be pushing through branches). Here you're more likely to see birds like orioles, pheasant coucals, lovely fairy wrens and others. Note that some of these paths will take you very close to the creek which is fairly stagnant and when I went had a truly Amazonian number of mosquitos. Insect repellent isn't just recommended, you might get sucked dry without it. It's only easily accessible by car. It does have a large car-park directly out front, but if you're not driving there's not even a footpath that'll take you to the entrance. Depending on where you're coming from it will be anything from a 15-40 minute walk to get to the wetlands from the nearest bus. As an aside, the council really needs to get their act together and station a ranger at this location for a while. I visited twice in November and during those visits I encountered both people fishing (not just disruptive to wildlife and against the signed rules of the place, but extremely dangerous as I have it on good authority from a local that there are fairly regularly crocodiles found in the lakes and close proximity to the water's edge is just a really bad idea), and astonishingly someone taking a joyride on a dirtbike along the paths. The individual on the dirtbike had torn right through the middle of prime bird habitat and left quite a bit of damage.

If you’ve got kids and you’re looking for the ultimate summers day out then Sugarworld is the place to be! It’s not exactly cheap, but honestly, for a full day of water filled fun, it’s great value. Heads up parents just spectating, you need to pay to enter as well so you may as well jump in and enjoy yourself with the kids! Between the splash park, smaller pools, and the 3 epic super slides, everyone is guaranteed a day of laughter and excitement. For families with older kids over 10, just keep in mind the smaller splash area and little pools are off limits for them, which leaves mainly the super slides and mini golf to keep them busy. The super slides are definitely a hit though (if you can survive the constant trek up there!) There are heaps of shaded areas and picnic tables, which makes it super family friendly, and I love that there are lockers available if you’re planning to jump in the water yourself (can’t comment on prices as I haven’t used them myself). The bathrooms were also impressively clean for such a big and busy park so big tick there! Mini golf adds a bit of extra fun although we found it a bit tricky for the littlies with some steep slopes and sneaky creeks ready to constantly swallow those golf balls. Still, most kids seem more than happy to spend their time on the slides anyway! Now, a few things that DESPERATELY need some love and attention to take this park from good to amazing… 1) The cafe wait times and staff attitude… Every single visit, it’s been 30+ minutes just to order, and then more waiting for the food. The line moves slower than a turtle in thongs, and the staff always seem… less than thrilled to be there. A little more efficiency (and a few more smiles) would make a world of difference… not to mention it would likely boost your sales too! 2) The pathway up to the red super slide… Ouch! The exposed aggregate surface is brutally sharp and rough on bare feet. Please, please, please consider resurfacing or matting it next off season. 3) Super slide safety… This was a HUGE one for me and I deducted a whole star for this one. When the traffic light system isn’t working at the top of the red slide, then there absolutely needs to be a lifeguard up there to manage turns. Without it, it quickly turns into chaos, and that’s not safe for anyone. Parents shouldn’t have to police the line with other people’s kids. Honestly it got so dangerous I took my little man off of that one. Despite these hiccups, Sugarworld is still a fantastic day out and a solid summer favourite in our household. We’ll absolutely keep coming back, I’m just hoping a few tweaks can make it the five star experience it’s so close to being!

Rude staff. Pay too much for what they provide, when Townsville Water Park is free. Charging Adults that don't swim. Ridiculous. Highly do not recommend.

It states children under 10 must be supervised at all times but parents cant go down the slides with them on splash mountain. So means younger children cant go down splash mountain slides as they are suppose to be attended. Well they arent supervised if they are going down slides by themselves. Hmm.

Amazing place to spend a day or half day. Waterslides are fun specially with kids between 6 years and older. Almost all slides are safe and you do not need to worry about. Please don't expect too much as it is not a waterpark like Gold Coast. Very economical as you just need to spend 61$ for a family of four including big slides. Also greenery and park is very good. My kids loved it and me and my wife too.

Lovely day out with the family My sons 14th birthday with mates in the school holidays. We packed our own food for a picnic but there is a kiosk there for hot food and drinks... A multi area water park which caters for the young and ' not so young A great day's fun for all!!!

We love Sugarworld - the slides are fun and the lines are never too long. Mini golf is a good laugh and there are lots of shady spots to relax too. It’s great that you can bring your own food to have a picnic - the kiosk is great for hot food and ice creams. The big public park outside is worth a visit too.

I had a couple of hours spare so I went for a drive feom Cairns. It is not far and I wasn't expecting much. But I have to admit it is a little breath taking. Photos do not do it any justice. I would l9ve to see this is the wet seasin

The park is lovely with a nice easy walk but the falls were a bit Barron! Not a lot of water seen but can imagine how impressive it would be after some heavy rain.

It's always great hiking in a national park but we found signature for the Barron Gorge lookout confusing, and weren't the only ones. We got there in the end, doing approx 4km which helped burn off breakfast.

Such a beautiful spot. The walk ways are very easy and well maintained. The views are incredible 😍

You need waaayyy more time in Kuranda but the travel to Kuranda in the gondola is next level. Would love to see the waterfall in the wet season

With features like Barron Falls, Stoney Creek and the Scenic Railway, this national park is a must-see location just outside of Cairns. There's beautiful views, nice creeks to cool off, and plenty of places to learn about the landscape too. It's definitely worth spending a day in the area to see everything it has to offer.

There are 4 hikes of various lengths, all have sections of steep stairs, but the path meanders along. Many people do loops on the red track for exercise.

We did the red arrow and blue arrow hikes. The red arrow was paved and had defined steps which is good if you’re going to jog along it. The blue arrow trail is more technical and took us about 3 hours to complete. Recommend having good hiking boots to do it as it was muddy/slippery in a number of places and a lot of the trail involved walking over/on tree roots. Don’t start it too late in the day as it gets darker earlier when under the tree canopy. The photos are from the lookout at the top of the blue arrow trail.

Consisting of many trail walks and treks with different color representing different difficulty levels, must tell you, Mouth Whitfield Conservation Park is Damn Beautiful. We would definitely list it under one of the best and Must Dos.

Nice wilderness and good place for hiking, there are 4 trails at the moment (19/06/18) ranging from the easiest Red to Yellow then Blue and finally Green so you can choose which ones you want to do The Red and Yellow trails can be done quite easily as long as you have a general level of fitness - no bushwalking/hiking experience needed (as advised by the visitors centre) as the terrain is quite good (mainly concrete paths with some dirt paths but easy to walk along as well as some steps/stairs on both trails) The Blue (excluding the small section of the Blue trail which connects the Red and Yellow trails) and Green trails are more complex with some quite narrow paths and a bit of climbing Really nice views of both the city and the airport (there is a lookout at the end of the Red trail which looks over the airport)

I haven't done the green arrow but the red, yellow and blue arrows are well signed. Always get a park easily. Red is steep and quick (20mins return) yellow isn't as steep and feels longer (35mins return) and blue is probably the easiest but the longest of the 3. To do all 3 takes no longer that 2.5hrs

It was fantastic. I enjoyed spending my weekend up the mountain with nature and my God. I experienced love of God in the nature.

Ran the Blue arrow. What a gruelling task to do it clockwise as the first half is like climbing a cliff face, but the Eastern side is absolutely stunning. Plenty of mud around due to the recent rain, and lots of exposed tree roots and rocks so sturdy footwear is advised.

What a great place to take the kids for free, everyone I've met there have been friendly and playful. With lots of activities to do the kids never get board and it's hard to get them to leave. It's so good to feel the sea breeze on your face while being shaded by the huge trees all around you, the whole area plus toilets are always clean and well maintained, there is a cafe right there and are always busy plus the food looks yummy. I'm sure anyone who visits will be very happy they did.

Such an awesome park. I loved how there were different sections so if you have a younger or older child child it cratered for both. There is a water play area too which was lots of fun.

There is no reason why a three minute task should require a forty-five minute wait. But it still does. Consistently. They've refined the system until it runs very smoothly. They just plan to make people wait for silly amounts of time. That's the plan. No business would survive with this approach.

I had the practical driving test here. Joe the examiner is very nice and friendly. He made me feel comfortable and concentrate to do the test. The staff members there are friendly and professional too. I passed the test. Be mindful with the traffic lights around that area because it has no arrows to turn right. So you have to wait until the traffic is clear and you see the gap to turn. Otherwise just stay behind the line.

Same facility they were in 20+ years ago but their renovations have made it less fit for purpose. A portable help desk taking up the waiting room while counter #1 is clearly unused. Make sure you book the whole day off work and wear comfortable shoes because not only will you be waiting all day but they have reduced the amount of seating.

Ms Jenny serving at counter 8 this morning had to be applauded for her patience and excellent customer service. She is a gem. A staff with customer service qualities that is rarely present these days. I was there to do a vehicle registration transfer and my completed form was complicated with first and second operators details. Usually the respond will be a sigh or frown, but she was different; was patient and helpful to go through the application process with great smiles. Thank you Jenny.

Great service Jenny at the front desk was very helpful and kind enough to check if I’ve got all the docs ready to proceed with my needs Then I went to counter 7 where Vivian was serving me. With the smile on her face she started helping me out with what I had to get done. I wasn’t expecting with all the negative comments on reviews but I really want people to know that they were amazing with the job. Kudos to Jenny and Special thanks to Vivian.

Very happy with both my experiences at Dept Transport Main Roads in Cairns. First visit a lovely lady greeted me straight away, as there was quite a lot of people waiting. Once she knew my situation was a little different she spoke to someone straight away, and I was given the information on how to transfer my drivers license, without having to wait half an hour or more. I was out of there with all the information I needed, then back a few days later with the correct paper work to prove my identity. The staff are all friendly, helpful and always have a smile!

A decent space to run and kick a ball, shady trees, toilets🚻. Playground is fine, sometimes there is lots of rubbish people have left all around the playground and basketball courts.

Out dated little park as far as play equipment is concerned. Grass is green and great for playing football. Plus a great range of exercise equipment spread throughout park. Park is situated near a KFC and close to shopping centre which is convenient.

Large park with plenty of room to play ball games. Exercise equipment. Basketball hoop. Playground. Shady trees. And a scooter or bike path. Generally always lots of kids around to play.

It's a good playground for the kids, and plenty of space to put up a big bomb or practice your Adam Reynolds chip n chase

Well maintained park, but the local wildlife can be can be a bit of a problem.

It's ok but the grass needs to be cut more often and there should be nets in the football goals and lastly, the gym equipment needs to have instructions on what to do because they're faded.👌⚽⛹

Exercise classes held there, grass long and clippings left. Also Aboriginal camp set up where we could do exercises in the shade, but can't.

This is a really nice park. Plenty of trees and grass for kids to run and play. Electric BBQ makes it a good spot for lunch and a picnic. Dog friendly (on lead) too.

Lovely park. Massive open spaces to bring your family and play games. Access from multiple surrounding streets so parking is sufficient. A nice sized play kids play area with 2x swings, 1x saucer/spider web swing and a fort. There are 2x gazebos as well. Reasons why I gave it 4, not 5 star is because it only has 1x water tap, no BBQ and no toilets. Other than that, a nice big park to come and spend time in.

Beautiful park. Lots of shaded spots. So much space. A few mozzies, so take some insect repellent so you don't get smashed. But a really beautiful space.

Climb the gentle slope to the top of the park for a view across the cane fields to the ranges, let the kids play on the playground, kick their footy, fly a kite or throw the frisby in the wide open spaces. Picnic shelters are available, but better in the cool of the late afternoon or an early morning picnic breakfast. Dogs on lead only. The small seasonal creek is good for a paddle when it's running.

Fuller Park has a range of facilities, including a rectangular sports field, BMX facilities and a fenced dog walk area. The park also has children’s play equipment. While the play equipment does not have shade cloth, it is shaded in the afternoon by mature trees next to the playground.

Daily excursions for Rocky to socialise with other dogs. Have a safe separation for smaller dogs

My dog loves this park. He's slowly getting better and becoming more confident and willing to socialise with other dogs.

I went to the skate pump track and it was pretty good set aside the wet leaves stuck on the track. But not bad.

It is a park where you can take your small dog or puppy off-leash. There is a beautiful up-close view of a dilapidated toilet block to admire while your pup has a muck around.

One of the best parks in Cairns. Very spacious and the equipment is kept in pretty good condition with minimal graffiti.

Cairns is such a beautiful place to visit! One of the highlights was the Esplanade — it’s a great spot with plenty of food shops, a free swimming pool (Lagoon), and lots of relaxing areas to just sit and enjoy the view. Perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking to unwind by the water. Highly recommend spending time here when in Cairns!

Perfect example of a council doing a great job at revitalising an area, we were told that the council has recently done some good work and we have not been disappointed. A really beautiful area with some great facilities.

The Esplanade is a great place to walk, run, ride or get near-missed by a E-scooter! There is a playground a few restaurants, Ferris wheel (the reef eye. It's called), lagoon (public swimming pool (I have a review of it) nice and warm). Great to go to the local park aswell!

Cairns Esplanade is an iconic part of this Far North Queensland city. It has good wheelchair access and is loved by locals and visitors alike.

It's very popular, neighbourhood kids love it, convenient location, but it's a mess and poorly maintained. Unfortunately, Cairns Regional Council has let this place get run down as they have with many of the parks.

I really enjoy visiting this Skate Park, as do my children & friends. However, there needs to be a toilet block & BBQ’s on hand. Perhaps, you could replace the BMX track with a more modern track & there would be more children & families visiting this beautiful Park. More shade would be an added bonus as well in the summer months. It’s wonderful to see the Basketball Court & Football field being used daily as well.

Needs better maintenance especially basketball court covered in sand and the bowl also has sand and dirt scattered throughout dangerous under wheels have witnessed 2 broken ankles and a blood nose i bring my son here often .

Something that is much needed in the area. A good way to ensure kids are safe but using up a lot of energy. I like that the parents are there with the kids.

Facilities getting trashed by young mountain bike riders. Rubbish everywhere, skate park covered in mud/sand, especially the bowl and top quarter pipe.

Fun little park, but gets taken over by scooter toddlers and their inattentive parents who have no spacial awareness. Keep in mind it's next to a big grassy area and other play equipment so gets super busy on weekends. Choose your time wisely.

Smooth ground, good ledges. Obstacles too low for BMX. Good for skateboarding, but come in the mornings on a school day, otherwise there are going to be a couple 100 scooter kids around. Holidays, come before 11AM.

This park is definitely worth the trip from the city. Bowl, banks, rail, funboxish, ledges....all with smooth surfaces and shady in some areas. This is perfect for morning and afternoon adventures but midday in summer is brutal and absolute torture. This ...Bentley and Redlynch are my favourite parks in the world... Esplanade is good to. Curse you covid19. *Shakes fist*

Large paved circle going around the park. Ideal for walking the dogs or going for a run as u can just go around. The gym equipment is sometimes hard to use as it has been damaged by weather and use. Overall decent park. They are currently implementing a car park and toilets there as well

Update the picnic table returned. Toilets were still locked up last time I checked. Haven't se er n many cars parked there after all the effort to make the Carpark. Did notice it's attracting people to sleep in their vans and use toilets at night. At least we can walk there again. Only seen the local fitness group who use the picnic table to conduct classes. End of footy season I guess. This was a lovely quiet restful park for the last 20 yrs. Lights for walking dog at 6pm. Now they are tearing up a big chunk for a carpark for the south cutters footballers to park and take it over as a alternative training area. Apparently for lady footballers.not sure if the fitness training sessions that met at the demolished picnic table at 5 will be back. So goodbye quiet park hello warriors training arena. They ripped out the only picnic table and now building a concrete toilet block for said footballers. I pay rates but now both parks I use most have become busy places. My dog likely upset by a lot of yelling. If it's not noisy kids, tweenies on skateboards, yelling swearing at us, it will be soon more sports trainers yelling. So the quiet is gone. I did go to the meeting re footballers but was told too bad so sad by the local council member. Of course reelection was on and I guess he likes football more than old lady's with dogs. Oh well I will have to walk further afield.

Great park for exercise. Bootcamp ran by Y Fitness who offers morning and evening sessions and a great track to walk or run laps. No public toilets.

Friendly congregation, great preaching, and wonderful worship. These guys love the Bible and teach it well!

There's lot to do around this area... such as walking, jogging, picnic or just enjoying the views of the beautiful seaside/beach etc.

Unfortunately despite there being many signs on the benches next to this playground saying your not allowed to smoke, staff and patients from the hospital are sat there all day long smoking. So your kids will have to endure breathing in cigarette smoke if they want to play here.

An amazing and fantastic stay at the treehouse. The house was very relaxing and had everything we needed. We very much enjoyed the views and felt safe and at home as soon as we stepped inside. The location was brilliant - short drive from the airport, beach and Skyrail and only 30 minutes to the harbour for our trip to the Great Barrier Reef. We could have stayed for longer - we were very happy here. Would recommend to everyone.

Beautifully decorated home up in the trees. Enjoyed all the little sitting areas throughout the house. The kitchen was large and open and a grill was available to cook out on. My favorite feature was the large Jacuzzi bathtub in the master bedroom.

This is really good view and condition house. However there are some suggestions about the house, 1. That’s be better if leave some tissue box on the table. 2. The air-con in kitchen is a little be leaking as well.3. Rubbish was not take out of bin in main bathroom. Any others are all good for us.

I nice place to go and exercise with friends and family. A sloppy up and down path get you most excited and challenging to reach the destination. A wonderful waterfall comes out with a cool water flow would likely refresh you after exhausting effort to reach it out.

The walking trail is sealed concrete the whole way which makes for easy walking. Trail does have many undulations so make sure you are fairly fit to get the most enjoyment out of the walk. Nice swimming spot at the top of the trail.

Beginner-friendly, easily accessible fully paved track, with a few swimming spots and amazing lookouts. Well worth the leg burn.

Decent walk. The path is all concrete - not a dirt track. The path is quite steep in many places to make sure that you are wearing shoes with a decent grip. The waterfall is right at the end and you can climb down onto the rocks. Take care - it is steep and can get slippery. Reccomend as a moderate challenge. It took about 1.5 hours with a few stops for photos.

What a beautiful place for a swim! The walk to the top falls is about 3kms on a tarred services road, it is quite hilly in spots so be prepared to sweat a little. Very similar feel to the Babinda Boulders and just as dangerous so take caution if you decide to swim at all, very strong unpredictable currents in parts but lovely spot to swim at the top. 40 minute walk up a paved path with a few grunty climbs but well rewarded with an awesome swim at the base of the beautiful Clamshell Waterfall. Stunning.

A great walk. Definitely not easy so wear a pair of decent shoes and carry a water bottle. It took us around 45mins to get to the end of the track. The view is amazing up there 🙌

Small park with some big trees and lots of flying foxes but it is good place to take your dog for a walk

Came all the way from Victoria to have a ride here and was pretty disappointed. Having ridden Narooma, Mogo and Eden on the way up this place is in desperate need of work. It looks like the club has started to repair some stuff but they have added new sections that aren't on Trailfork and this area would have to be the worst signed trail I've ridden. There were a couple of highlights seeing the Crankworx site and the DH WorldCup run which is also stuffed atm. I suspect the rain this time of year is making it hard. Another review said it but the trails don't flow nice and they go up very quick which is a hard pedal then straight back down so the run is done in a few minutes. Glad we came but expected more. Maybe around event time this area would be a good ride.

Some of the most fun I've ever had. Such great trails, surrounded by lush green forests.

I’m a complete beginner (first time mountain biking) and these trails are amazing. Lots of shade, tracks are well maintained and good variety of difficulty. I mostly stayed on the green tracks but also tried a couple of the blue tracks (bit beyond my skill level though!). It looks like they are constructing an amenities building near the car park so will be great when that is completed. Can’t wait to come back here!

Amazing mtb park. Plenty of variety and types of trails from jumps to rooty/rocky tech to flow with varying dirt types. I spent a few days riding just about everything bar some of green trails on my ebike which was pretty helpful in my opinion given it's a non shuttle park with some big climbs. Just about all trails run on an anticlockwise loop from right to left as you look at the park. Takes a little bit to figure out the where to go, but once you get it it's quite easy to work out where you are or how to get to various trails. If you're riding this on an analog you might need a few days to get through everything and big ticker to climb up some of the main runs and double black trails. Pipeline was one of my favourite runs to do, but be prepared for a decent climb if you're not on a ebike. 🤙

So many improvements and additional trails added over the past few years and now with toilet facilities at the trail head too. Accessible for all levels of mountain bikers.

This park is a wonderful spot nestled by the lagoon, offering a serene environment surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant plant life. Depending on the time of day, it can either be a peaceful retreat or bustling with various activities, providing something for everyone to enjoy.

Beautiful walk along the Esplanade, lots of paths for running, walking, separate path for riding, scootering, roller skating. Dogs must stay on leash. Restrooms spotted either end and in-between. Exercise equipment along the way, the pirate ship playground for kids northern end, big open green spaces for picnics, skate park, sand volleyball nets, the lagoon for swimming and BBQs everywhere. Muddies cafe and water park for the little ones, more cafes down closer to the marina, another large playground opposite Cairns casino near cafes and brewery, other restaurants not too far away, all walking distance from Esplanade.

Small park with a nice view! This park has plenty of tables and a nice lake. There is a toilet block with 1 Male, 1 Female and 1 Disabled. There is a small kids playground here. A water fountain is provided. Plenty of shade also. The atmosphere here is very relaxing and provided a nice view and if you're lucky a train may pass by with the close train track in the vicinity.

Small park with a beautiful swimming hole & picnic area. The Redlynch to City bike path also goes through this lovely shady park & is the most welcome oasis when you’ve been cycling in the hot sun 😅

Feel like cooling off after a hard days work, then head on over to Ryan Weare Park in Freshwater. It's a little Oasis. Perfect spot for a picnic and great for kids. The water hole is surrounded by beautiful shady trees and there is a play area for children and even toilet facilities. Can take your dog on a leash but don't forget to clean up after him/her. We are truly spoilt living in beautiful Cairns. Enjoy 😎

Park and soccer fields located in the suburb of Woree. Close to the IGA and various other shops. Playground here is okay, however, kids will always find a way to have fun no matter where they are. The big field doubles as a soccer field and can also be used for the afternoons where you want to get the family together and play a game of footy.

This is a lovely suburban park. It is used for sport and is the home of Brothers Hockey Club.

This is a good suburban park. It is above the basic level, but not quite a destination park. It has children's play equipment, a covered table and mature trees. It is a nice little park.

This park is in good condition. It is a quite large green space with pathways, a number of access points and basketball facilities. There is car parking at the front of the park entry. There is heaps of space to kick a ball.

Pulled up to eat in way to an appointment, didn't get a great vibe so sat in the car. The bins stank and could do with a clean. Considering its Cairns, they get hot and feral, they need to be regularly cleaned.... didn't look like there was much to this 'park', very baron, one cluster of trees. Wouldn't seek it out to go back.

Great place i once heard that the great robin of the giffin family came here by sea and worked the land and they made this park land in memory of the sacrifice he made dealing with the likes of sensitive weeds and drownings of his friends.

Death and destruction masquerading as a family park. Brings only lacerations and drownings. I do not recommend.
