Very nice please on a cozy courtyard. It was quite warm there but a little breeze made it more comfortable. The service was very friendly but not very well coordinated. We often had to wait way too long before someone came to take an order. As for the food: Rullatine di Melanzane 10/10 GREAT Fileja con cipole, poverello bianco e pecorino 9/10 VERY TASTY Polpette 4/10 very dissapointing, not soft enough and too dry at the top (probably a broiler was used) Polpo alla griglia 7/10 it was very tender but somehow, the smell was off and I think the reason was the grill. It smelled burned.

The most incredible meal ever (we came twice). What an absolute pleasure it was to visit this restaurant! If you don’t give it a try you are mad! We chose the onion tasting plate for an entree on one of our visits and will think about it for the rest of our lives! Overall a 10/10. Staff are pleasant and helpful and recommend some good wine choices to accompany our meals.

My wife and I came here during the second night of our honeymoon. While there was a little wait without a reservation, the staff was accommodating, and treated us respectfully with complementary champagne. The overall atmosphere and outdoor seating was top notch. Their Calabrian onion sampler, carbonara and octopus were all excellent. We were even surprised by impromptu live music! It was an unforgettable and romantic night we will not forget. Easily the best meal we've had during our stay in Tropea.

Staff was friendly, they even made a suggestion on what we could order and share all our dishes as we shared our bruschetta. Food was excellent too. Cute hidden spot with a really good atmosphere. Would recommend to reserve a spot as it gets crowded

A lovely restaurant offering authentic local cuisine with fresh, local ingredients. We started with two antipasti: the octopus salad, which was tasty but not particularly remarkable, and a bit pricey for what it was (€18). The aubergine rolls stuffed with local cheese and onion, however, were fantastic! For the main course, we chose the traditional Calabrese pasta – fieja with nduja and burrata, as well as a seafood version. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of fresh seafood, which was a standout. Overall, a very enjoyable meal, though it felt a bit on the expensive side for the experience.

We spent three days in Tropea and we like it so much, we return every night. Cant be netter and more authentic. Just look inside, great wooden oven and rustic place. And the staff is very nice. You can also have take out.

Worst pizza I had in my life. Trust the negative reviews. We ordered 3 pizzas - one of them was served raw, the second burnt to a crisp and the last one was somewhat edible. The sea food pizza we ordered was drenched in vinegar and absolutely inedible. The red wine was fine though. Fortunately after our complains we only payed for two of the three pizzas.

Located in a quiet alley, but literally in the centre, the perfect hidden gem for your dinner. We went around 10pm and thought they would be open since the hours on maps indicate till 1am, though they seemed to have been closing the kitchen for the night. NEVERTHELESS, they still accommodated us, and gave us our time to view the menu. The pizza came out immediately and it was UTTERLY. DELICIOUS. (Would go again if I could). To make the experience more pleasurable, the staff was very friendly, and even the cook came out asking if everything was good and had a lovely conversation with us. We were even given the pleasure to visit their kitchen and see first hand that the pizzas are made in an old fashioned pizza stone oven. Food = BREATHTAKING STAFF = SPETACULAR Final verdict = IPER MEGA BOMB! 💣💣💣

The pizza was not cooked. The seafood tasted like it was dipped in vinegar & just thrown on. Too much oil - just terrible. Only the crust was edible.

If you like raw pizza dough and a long wait then this place is for you. We ordered 7 pizzas and all 7 pizzas were served RAW. Horrible is too kind of a word to use to describe the pizzas served here. Disappointingly, we were made to pay for all of them, even after sending them back. The uncleanliness is second to none. Our first night in Tropea was a let down because of this restaurant.

Over 200 years of tradition, wonderful interior, magical people and most important - amazing food! This place is a real gem! Each dish is unique - steeped in tradition, passion and wood-fired oven smoke. We fell in love ❤️

Best dinner we had in Italy! The pizza was crispy and moist at the same time, and focaccia was getting more tasty every bite. Very delicious, cannot recommend more! 😍

We were disappointed after reading the positive reviews. The greeting was not friendly, we were sat on a small table in the corner both looking at a wall. The rest of the restaurant was virtually empty but set out with larger tables. Service was unprofessional and surly. There was no explanation of the menu, and we were asked did we want the pizzeria or restaurant menu - why did we have to choose one or the other? The decor is very hard and brightly lit. The sound is echoing and we heard every word of a conversation at the other side of the room. The staff are unfriendly and don’t smile. My crab pasta was full of whole small crabs, which were inedible. My partner enjoyed his mussels and clams. Overall there was little atmosphere, the staff in the kitchen paid no notice to the customers, they were watching a screen on the pass, and let two young inexperienced individuals struggle. The food was not enjoyable. I told the waiter I wasn’t enjoying it but he just shrugged and walked away. The owners need to consider the customer experience from greeting, ambience, service and food. Edit: The rant below from the owner demonstrates how willing he is to take on feedback. Restaurants are facing tough times and need to take on feedback from customers, not berate them publicly for taking the time to make useful comments. Never mind, there are plenty of lovely restaurants in Tropea.

The kitchen is soul of this place both literaly and physicaly. We were in the old place couple of years ago so we know Nico and Lilly put their heart in everything they do. In this place they decied for an open view to the kitchen and it is for the best. We had mussels, the red onion soup, sea food pasta and spagetti with tuna and Red onion. We did not wait one minute extra during the whole dinner. Service was Fast and quiet just as we like it. For white wine feel safe to choose the bottle made for restaurant at reasonable €13. The menu is a bit complicated to get through especially on the mobile screen.

I ordered the catch of the day, and it was just as good as I hoped—fresh and full of flavor. The staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. The only thing missing was some background music to set the mood. Otherwise, everything was spot on!

Overall, it was a nice experience. The food was good, and the staff were polite, though they did come across as a bit uptight. We ordered the pasta with tuna tartare and tuna with potatoes and Tropea onions – both dishes were tasty, but nothing more. We also tried the dessert, pistacchiere, which was absolutely delicious! The weirdest part of the meal was the robot that served the dishes. It felt out of place and made the experience odd. There's nothing major to complain about, but I think the overall vibe just didn't quite resonate with me.

The food was really good the waiter was nice :) we had different expectations from the sea bass dish , it was a bit small but still delicious. On the other hand the tuna tartar was really big and tasty! I highly recommend

We were quite disappointed with our experience, especially considering seafood is supposed to be a highlight of the tropean region. The atmosphere felt odd, as there was no background music. I ordered the spaghetti with mixed seafood of the day — the flavor was decent, but the amount of seafood was surprisingly small. My girlfriend’s grilled swordfish, which should be a specialty here, tasted very average (nothing better than what you’d find elsewhere), and it came without any sides. Even simple baked potatoes were €5 extra. The service also left a lot to be desired. Staff showed little interest in the guests, never asked if we wanted more food or drinks, and it took a long time before we finally received the bill. For a restaurant that isn’t cheap, we expected much better. The €6 coperto only got us dried-out bread, which felt unreasonable. The one positive was the wine — very good, and we appreciated the waiter’s recommendation. Unfortunately, overall, the food, service, and atmosphere didn’t live up to the prices or to Tropea’s reputation for great seafood.

Outside the crowded center of Tropea there is this incredible restaurant. The place is all but astonishing (a simple house courtyard), nonetheless, the overall result is truly cozy. The service is fast and caring. The food is simply incredible, all seafood (with few exceptions) is fresh and local. A wonderful discovery!

We had an incredible experience at Carpe Diem Ristorante! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was amazing. Gabriele was fantastic! Super friendly, helpful, and made us feel really welcome. He gave great recommendations and made the whole evening even better.

We have been going to Carpe Diem for nearly 10 years. It is without a doubt one of our favourite restaurants in Calabria. Family run, delicious food and a lovely location, deep in the backstreets of Tropea. Service has always been excellent and we highly recommend it.

5-stars all around: attentive, warm service, a charming location in a courtyard and an ample completely GF menu. We were taken care of here every night of our trip, and warmly welcomed back by the waitstaff each time. Recommend the GF carbonara, not too rich and generous portions.

“Incipit” is almost a hidden gem, tucked away from the busy High Street and tourist-heavy areas. This spot comes highly recommended by locals — and for good reason. It has a gorgeous outdoor terrace with views over the piazza, but the real wow factor comes when you choose to dine indoors… in the cave! Yes, a beautifully lit, cosy cave with an incredible atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel special. The service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The menu is fantastic, offering a perfect mix of local favourites and creative twists. We went all out and enjoyed the full experience: antipasto, primo, and secondo. The tuna tartare was outstanding, bursting with freshness and flavour. I had the Fileja al ’Nduja ragu, which was absolutely mind-blowing — and high on my Calabria culinary wish list. My partner chose the hazelnut risotto, which was equally exceptional. For mains, I had the pistachio-crusted seabass while my partner had the cod — both dishes beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended if you want an authentic, high-quality dining experience away from the tourist traps. Grazie mille per il fantastico servizio 🙏👌👏

This place literally has it all. From the moment we stopped by they quickly attended to us and sat us on the beautiful deck. The waiter was so friendly helping us with recommendations from the area and seemed genuinely happy to be serving us despite needing some english translation on the phone. For starters he recommended the seafood salad to go along with our tartare and both were absolutely delicious. The tartare was some of the best I’ve ever had with a unique seasoning and bursting with flavor. The seafood salad was very unique (although maybe more common in italy) and was very refreshing after a hot day. All of the seafood was cooked perfectly. We then tried the anchovy eggplant pasta which I never would have ordered myself as I dont like anchovies. But the waiter was right, it was delicious! Unlike in the US, the anchovy was not as extreme salty/fishy as the canned ones although still salty, it was very nice to try. The spaghetti was filled with sauce coating every noodle, and they plated it separately for the 2 of us despite only ordering 1. For the 3rd course we tried the seared octopus and the fried calabrian cod. Again both were wonderful but I especially loved the octopus, it was so flavorful and the perfect texture. They absolutely know how to cook their seafood to perfection. In addition to taste everything looked like it could be in an art gallery. It was so beautifully plated. Finally, for dessert we had pistachio gelato and we were brought a small sample of limoncello on the house. Everything was so wonderful, I wish I lived in Tropea so I could go here weekly. Highly recommend!!

Overpriced and not very traditional. I only liked the octopus which was good. The starters and other main dishes were tasteless I tried also the dishes from family. Good selection of wine and atmosphere. Also service was very good. I only value the food at this time as we came here for fileja traditional dish and it was not even close to what we expected. I would recommend it anyway for a fancy dinner or drink good wine.

Me and my friend went for a dinner in this nice restaurant and when we arrived i notice the very welcoming and nice ambient, the owner and the server accomodate us in a nice table and “cuddle” us since the beginning; we got served a starter after few minutes with crispy rice and a parmigiano cream phenomenal, than our server provide to take our order. we shared an antipasto “paese” which came with all fresh local stuff as ricotta fresca,sopressata,a very delicate and tasty parmigiana,onion omelet and nduja bruschetta; as main course we both got pasta: mine was with anchovies, nduja crumble (never seen and really interesting),caramelized onion and wild fennel, my friend got the one with raw langustine,stracciatella and pistacchio…both were PHENOMENAL! We didn’t have any space for dessert but we’re going back for sure to try it; highly recommended

The waiters were very chaotic even though there were very few tables occupied. The food was ok, the pastas and octopus were decent. The atmosphere was not that good, below expectations. Seems like a poorly managed restaurant, we waited a lot for everything so we would not recommend coming here 😅

We had the pasta al vongole and the stuffed rabbit. Pasta was simple, with a very rich broth. The rabbit was a delicate portion, with an intense pecorino stuffing and a deep brown sauce. Delicious, all very well prepared. Atmosphere is calm, waiter was knowledgable and attentive. Would recommend. Prices are 10-20 for primi or secondi.

We came here with friends on a very hot humid summer night because we saw how high their reviews were on Google. When we got there we were a bit skeptical of the decor. It has hearts everywhere and red Christmassy decor to play on the "Alice" theme which I think is a bit strange since Alice I assumed meant sardines and not Alice in Wonderland. Also it was so hot and there was no breeze under they're umbrella in the courtyard so right off we were worried about our experience. As soon as our food came though everything was alright. The seafood antipasti tartare platter was the best thing we are. Shrimp, prawn, tuna tartare, oysters, all fresh and sweet. The pastas were all wonderful and the final dish was the catch of the day grilled simply and served with lemon. Perfectly fresh and perfectly grilled. The staff was nice but our friend who was with us is a sommelier and it became apparent as soon as our wine came that they we're not too knowledgeable about the wines as we asked for a white wine from Calabria that was not oakey and we got oakey. It might have been a language barrier? Didn't matter. We loved our meal. I would go back just to eat that seafood tartare platter. Next time just by myself without sharing.

Amazing restaurant, with true quality ingredients and dishes. One of the best places I ate in Tropea. The staff is welcoming and it offers well prepared food, both seafood and meat. If you look for something more sophisticated yet affordable in the center of Tropea, you can’t go wrong if you come here.

We were served raw shrimp and never informed it was raw shrimp. Nothing noted on the menu stating that it was raw shrimp. Took a bite and spit it out. Addressed the concerns with management and was treated horribly. They refused to take it off the bill. The server admitted that they were supposed to inform us that it was raw before placing our order. Again, the menu said NOTHING about the shrimp being raw or the dish being raw. They even admitted that the menu doesn't mention that it's raw. They do not care about health concerns. Run. Run away fast. There are so many good restaurant in Tropea. Don't risk your life on this one.

This restaurant far exceeded our expectations in terms of food, service, and quality. We actually ate there a 2nd night since it was so good The fish dishes were outstanding as well as the pasta and vino. Would definitely recommend for everyone. If you eat before 8:30 pm no reservation was needed.

We reserved our table online. Highly recommended to reserve your table in advance, the place was full and many people were waiting for seat when we were there. The fried calamari was absolutely delicious. We tried the tuna pizza, surprisingly very good, it was a bit dry compared to traditional pizza but the dough and the tuna was so good that it doesn’t required any sauce. Gnocchi and tiramisu were also good. Will like to go again and try other meals on their menu next time.

One of the tastiest pizzas I’ve ever had and I’ve tried a lot of pizza throughout Italy. The Delicata was unexpectedly scrumptious and delightfully light, one of my personal fav. The service was also 10/10—friendly and incredibly quick. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more!

Lido Calypso is a beautiful beach with a great atmosphere! The pizza and cocktails are really tasty – definitely worth trying. The beach itself is lovely and relaxing. However, a couple of staff members were not very friendly. They kept saying that sunbeds were reserved, even though many of them stayed empty all day, which was a bit frustrating. Overall, still a nice spot to enjoy the sun and good food, just be aware of this.

A great low cost pizzeria away from centre. Great views and bar also. Recommend if you want good quality away from more crowded centre. Small public beach right in front of bar. Happily spent few hours chillin in sun.

We spent the day here and reserved two sunbeds for €20, which was a great value — definitely one of the best locations in the area for beach access and relaxing by the sea. For lunch, we ordered a Margherita pizza and a mozzarella salad. The pizza was okay, but the salad felt a bit underwhelming, with iceberg lettuce that tasted a bit cheap. That said, the portion of mozzarella was decent. The drinks were the highlight — we ordered throughout the day and really enjoyed that part of the experience. Overall, a good spot for a beach day, with some room for improvement on the food side.

We came here a few times to bar and beach. The beach is nice and also price for umbrella and sunbeds is great. The beach is on windy side so there are quite often waves. The staff could be more friendly and attentive. The food was fine. I think it’s good beach bar if there are no waves. Also during weekend it is super busy so you don’t get sunbed without reservation. We had also feeling that as we are not Italians we didn’t get the same service as we would as locals. Some waiters even ignored us :(

Picturesque beach with crystal clear waters, beachfront bar and Cafe, often with live music 8n the early evenings. Fairly priced umbrella hire and drinks. Beautiful 360 degree views of ocean, sky, rocky formations, castle on the cliff and which city walls with old town.

The location is great. Beautiful spot for aperitivi and to watch the sunset. However, the two guys behind the bar are awful. They're unfriendly, inattentive, often appear put out when called to perform their role - serve you a drink, and regularly give the impression that they're talking disparagingly about you.

We ate here cheese platter, Porta Nova pizza, fried fish on Tropea red onion cream and chocolate ice cream dessert (I don't remember the name). Everything tasted delicious, worth the 4 star. If I could, I would give half star more for the dessert. Athmosphere was peaceful and staff were friendly and kind! We also drink Muraner red wine and absolutely loved it! I think everything was worth the price.

Situated in the middle of climatic center with beautiful views at old buildings, service was excellent, but oh the food! Bruschetta di mare was 100/10 -ricotta&shrimp; tuna Tartare with tropeana onion; to die for and very cheap for 6pieces. Pizzas are the best in town! Very tasty&cheap local wine!

This restaurant turned out to be really good. We had a seafood starter and a pizza and everything was delicious with a perfect balance of flavours. The wine complemented the dishes beautifully and made the whole meal even better. The staff were friendly and attentive which made the experience feel easy and relaxed. I really liked this place! The food was tasty and reasonably priced. I recommend the bruschetta with seafood and onions, the Ricola salad with Parmesan, and every pizza on the menu!

My family of 7 happened upon this restaurant by chance and were completely surprised. The food was delicious, the portions were just right. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We sat out in the open and the atmosphere was very warm. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a great food experience. Unfortunately forgot to take a pic of my prawns. The grilled prawns were a little bit disappointing, because they were pretty small but the plate crudo was very good. The service was super nice, I ran away 2 times to take some pictures of the sunset nearby and they just let me go without questioning. I really recommend this place. Prices are moderate.

This seafood restaurant was an absolute highlight of our trip. The waiter brought us a selection of freshly caught fish to choose from and we picked the Pagello Fragolino and wow, it was without a doubt the best fish I have ever eaten. Perfectly cooked, tender and bursting with flavour, it was simply unforgettable. The Tropea salad was the perfect side, fresh and beautifully balanced, and the local wine they served, made especially for this place, was outstanding. The prices felt completely fair for the quality. The chef even came out to check if everything was perfect and the staff were incredibly warm and attentive. If you are a fan of fish this place is an absolute must.

During our stay in Tropea, we dined at many highly-rated restaurants, but this place turned out to be a true discovery. Everything here is on another level: the food is simply outstanding, both in taste and presentation! The pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and the tuna tataki were absolute perfection. The atmosphere is wonderfully warm — the staff greet you with a smile, speak fluent English and Italian, and make you feel right at home. We tried a variety of dishes, and each one was genuinely delicious and made with care.

Went here twice during my stay. Two excellent lunches. The simple shrimp pasta with pistachios and paccheri was super good and the salad with calabria red onions was incredible. You must eat these sweet treats at every chance you get. The best in the world.

The food is expensive and the portions are very small. The service was very poor, the waiter did not offer the bread that we were supposed to have. However, he still charged us this cost. When we asked him about it, he mentioned he forgot to offer it. No recommended at all.

Aside from the view which was one of the reasons to come, the food and atmosphere were amazing. Away from the hustle and bustle of touristic vibes, our host Franco was super relaxed and welcoming and happy to talk through recommendations. We all had pasta which was just right - al dente and full of exquisite flavours prepared by chef Carmine and which paired very well with a Calabrian orange zibibbo. We’ll be back!

My partner and I flew to Italy to explore the stunning Puglia region for our anniversary trip. After spending a couple of days in Tropea, we stumbled upon this absolute hidden gem. Our host, Valentina, graciously gave us a table with breathtaking views, and the food was truly superb—absolutely top-notch! The staff was incredibly friendly and professional. We're already planning to come back before our departure for the UK.

Great place for a date, or for an upscale dining experience. The service was great, but slow. I think they were short staffed on Sunday night. We had delicious ravioli and gnocchi with panna cotta for dessert.

We really enjoyed our meal at Pimm's. The food was delicious, very traditional, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We really liked the design of the restaurant as well! We would absolutely come back. Very good meal!

Really unfriendly, the owner was arrogant, so we had to leave because of that. We paid for the bottle of water by cash, and the owner kept 1€ for his pocket without telling us (the bottle was 3€, but he kept 4€... were we scammed?).

It’s quite busy restaurant. The location is great, it’s in the central square. The service was not great, kind of cold. And it took a long time for our food to arrive. The oysters were absolutely delicious, so was the steak, and mussels. The salad was not good at all,, and the risotto was just ok. The house wine was great too. A little bit on expensive side

We had a wonderful experience at Little Italy Tropea! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and full of flavor. A special mention goes to the Argentine waiter, who was incredibly professional, attentive and kind. We truly appreciated the extra care when they kindly accommodated our request to cook the prawn — such a thoughtful touch! Highly recommended for both the food and the warm, welcoming service.

We arrived at 21:30, it's 22:30 and we're still waiting for food. Furthermore, it says closing time is 23:00. There's zero interest, almost no one speaks English, and it's incredibly difficult to communicate. I was embarrassed when I saw what they presented us as pizza. We ordered a salad, but it didn't arrive; there was a mistake on the bill (and the table across from us had the same problem tonight). They sent two limoncellos to apologize, but I don't think such things can be compensated. They shamelessly charge a service fee, and we are paying for a service we can't even receive. It's truly sad...

We had an excellent meal here at a reasonable price. Absolutely no complaints. Which made me look deeper at the two one star reviews, which obviously showed they were written by the same malicious (and possibly non-existent) person! So don't be deterred, I assure you that this is a high quality restaurant.

Food: 4/5. The presentation of my platter was spread out on a very large plate with space taken up by wilted arugula. Service: 5/5. We were seated at a freshly cleaned and set table. They checked in on us often but not too much. When someone at our table dropped a bit of food on their clothing, the staff quickly brought out a cleaning agent without being asked to do so. Atmosphere: 4/5. This would be 5/5 if they had a location right in the piazza but it was close enough to enjoy some of that atmosphere and the music selection for the evening was very good.

We ordered two pizzas and while they were still hot, they tasted okay — but after about five minutes they turned completely rubbery. Honestly, they tasted worse than frozen pizzas from a wholesale store. The staff also had a very lazy attitude. When the waiter asked if I enjoyed the food, I told him no and explained why, but he didn’t say anything at all in response, as if he didn’t care. I really don’t understand how this restaurant has so many stars. I’ve never had a worse pizza. I would give them 1/5, definitely not the 4.4 rating I see here.

This was recommended for lunch by our B&B owner. We weren't disappointed as the food was excellent. Top quality, authentic one ofmthe best meals we've had in Italy. It's so good, we're definitely going back for dinner before we leave Tropea.

Nice place, not cheap but I don't have other places in Tropea to compare. I just know that 8.5eur for Aperol spritz that doesn't have much Aperol is too much. We had the white ragù pasta which was very nice and other dishes as well. The vibe of the place is nice 🙂 Overall a nice experience.

Was reccomended this restaurant by some friends who had pasted through Tropea. The pizza was excellent however thought the pastas were okay, I dont reccomend anybody getting the Cottaletta.

Tried my first Italian pizza here! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. 🧡 I ordered takeaway — an Italiana and a Tropeana — and it was ready in about 8 minutes. I especially loved the Tropeana. The ham in the Italiana was a little bit too salty for my companion’s taste, but I still enjoyed it a lot! Grazie mille!

Great spot just off one of the main piazzas. Make sure you make a booking - the place isn’t huge and they usually insist that you reserve in advance. They even gave us prosecco while we waited, which is very uncommon in Italy!

Looks very nice from the outside. Assumed owner or at least boss during evening opening hours not very friendly. Service on but not more. Had to remind service of multiple things. Toilette not in good condition. Spent one evening here and decided not to go there again. Tropea has better options.

If you’re looking for a cocktail spot in Tropea, I believe this could be one of the best. The atmosphere was the highlight of the bar, but the cocktails were good as well. In terms of location and ambiance, the bar is definitely worth a visit.

Could not recommend more. Came here for apperitivo around 7pm, it was perfect. The drinks were great, the views incredible, and the staff so nice and welcoming. Also, a special shoutout to the caponata, which was the best we have ever had in our lives. This is a truly authentic experience, not designed for tourists but rather a genuine Italian outdoor cocktail lounge. We went back both nights, it was that good!!

This was the best experience I had at any bakery or restaurant in Tropea. I was met with a smile and got the most beautiful takeaway packaging I've ever seen. Perfect since this was for a birthday. Paid 7€ for 3 large high quality pastries. Very happy!

Gorgeous pasticceria! Amazing selection of traditional pastries- my personal favourite was the pistachio cornetto filled generously with the most delicious pistachio creme! The lovely ladies who served us coffee were warm and welcoming and even gave us some extra pastries to try! Highly recommend!

My favourite place all of Tropea. I usually like to go to different places for breakfast when I travel, but came here every day of my trip, and there was still so much I wanted to try. I'd highly recommend the choux style bun with cherries on top, and the almond cookies in the fridge. I'm a professional baker, and was really impressed and inspired by everything here. The staff and owner are lovely, as well. Everything is fairly priced

1 star The Pizza Capricciosa was really disappointing. From about 5 cm away from the crust there was no topping left, and the dough was too thin and rather hard – not what you would expect from a proper pizza. Honestly, even at a small kebab stand I’ve had better pizza, and this one didn’t feel Italian at all. The Spaghetti Vongole tasted okay, but the portion was so small that it was finished within just a few minutes. For €20, it simply didn’t feel worth it. Overall, not convincing – especially at these prices.

The pizza has to be the stingiest pizza i have ever tried, i mean i know the italians are all about simolicity, but my local pizza place in the balkans has more fill than this... Also asked for a ketchup or tomato sauce and they gave me little package from the store, it was miserable!

In search of a place for dessert and prosecco we visited Vecchio Granaio and I can say it was a mistake!!! We ordered tiramisu, but I dare to say it was the worst tiramisu ever! Extremely dry, extremely tasteless, and made with the most ordinary cream…. The service was amazing as well as the tiramisu! I can only say that they served us the big bottle of water but without any glasses.. and I'll stop there.

If you’re visiting Tropea avoid this restaurant. The food was average, the staff was sincerely horrible. The waiters were not present at all, they didn’t pay much attention to us and they didn’t care about us. The place was pretty though.

We have had some great meals at some really good restaurants in our two weeks in Italy and this place was our run away favourite - we ate here 3 times. Our favourite dishes were the Fileja la Rossa (pasta with tomatoes, onion, olives and capers - perfect) and the Mastru Totu Pizza (topped with tomato, olives, capers, anchovies and burrata (like a cold Mozzarella but better)). Sitting outside in the small square beside the restaurant was a beautiful and peaceful place to eat. The service was brilliant. They were very apologetic that their internet was not working and we had to pay by cash (I am not sure why that would be an issue - I managed to live for 35 years without the Internet). In writing this review I am a bit shocked to see quite a few poor reviews. Hard to understand why, based on our experience this restaurant is brilliant.

A good feed. The lobster pasta was well cooked but lacked that seafood flavour. The nduja pasta was also done well but quite rich. The 2 guests we dined with ordered the baccalà and the beef steak, the baccalà was cooked very well and not too salty which is great for a baccalà and the steak was well cooked and tender and had good flavour. They have a limited wine selection too. Staff are very friendly and the restaurant location is great as it’s not on the Main Streets.

Insanely high prices for a sunbed: €40, which is even more expensive than at the rotonda beach (!!) there are a few places next to it for (only) €25, which is high enough Party at sunday. Went there but we couldn’t get in and they didn’t tell us how we’re supposed to go in, they just told us it’s closed instead of explaining anything. Super rude staff

I booked a space at the back to protect me from the all day sun. 93 and 94 right next to the steps and showers. Stayed all day and a really good time. Beach shoes are a must, to get in and out of the sea. Well another day here and so far just disappointment😠.. I Booked last night 4 laylows with two unbrellas, in the rear row. So i dont have to sit in the sun all day long. Get here today to be told all the rear row are booked but non in my name. Had to pay 10 Euro more💶. RIP OFF. Added a photo as proof that all the laylow in the rear row are not in use. We arrived at 10:45 it is now 12:43. We left at 15:30 and only one of the laylows where in use.

This shop was an absolute highlight of our trip—an incredible selection of small-producer wines and local specialties, including incredible cheese. The owner was incredibly friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable, offering fantastic recommendations and generously letting us sample many of the local products. It’s clear he truly loves what he does, and made the experience all the more special. We left with amazing cheeses, wines, and a deeper appreciation for calabria. Can’t recommend this place enough!

I don’t think you could find a better local shop. The owner was so courteous and hospitable, let us try different chili spreads, olives and olive oil. Recommended the best products, and even opened items and custom vacuum sealed them for us to travel home with. Even with the language barrier, we were able to communicate through our love of food! Wow!

Delicious food and very genuine experience. Be willing to try your best at some Italian, and lean into the suggestions of the staff and you’ll have an amazing high quality meal.

Service was too slow. Portions of vegetarian meals are too small. It was a 5-course meal dinner, and it took 5 hours to serve these. Though the order was already pre-ordered, still had to wait so long for each course. Ravioli was undercooked and had too much salt. Risotto's rice was undercooked. Lasagna with zucchini and potato, Cabbage/Lettuce with mushroom sauce, cake were okay.

I wanted to love this place but the food was just fine. We ordered a lot and it was all just ok. It's better than what we had for dinner last night but overall for Italy, I don't think Tropea is a great food scene.

Calabrese salad for 9€ was an absolute rip-off, and the tomatoes were green, unripe and tasteless. It didn't even have any salt or balsamic vinegar on it... The Caesar salad wasn't good either, it had almost no sauce on it.

The service was generally friendly, but it lacked attention to detail. We weren’t offered basic table essentials like salt, pepper, or olive oil, and no one checked in during the meal to see if everything was okay. The seafood pasta was disappointing—the tomato sauce was too overpowering, masking the flavour of the seafood. On a more positive note, the fresh local fish was decent, and the onion salad was a standout.

This was by far the best seafood pasta that I had on my recent trip to Calabria. Everything was tasty and fresh, and considering the location right on the beach, it was very reasonably priced. The staff were quite welcoming and friendly, offering us suggestions on what to eat and even offering to make us a dish that was not on the menu that my partner had seen on the reviews (it was a special of the day, so not on their normal menu). If you’re considering eating here, don’t hesitate.

The place to have lunch while spending a day a the beach!!! The service was as amazing as the kittchen. We had octopus salad an the pasta with bacalau … in my opinion the signature dishes.

This is a very simple no fuss restaurant right on the Lido with outstanding food. The special of the day was a burrata with gamberi rosso tartare. We eat the gamberi rosso everytime it's on the menu. It is soooo good! And when you put it on top of burrata, it is a ridiculously creamy and sweet combination. We were surprised and how good the food was as the place looks like a cafeteria, but it doesn't have to be fancy when you've got a view of the sea. The simple salad with marinated Tropea onions (of course) was crisp, balanced and delicious. And the spaghetti we ordered was also light, featured the onions which is my current obsession, and a great combination of herbs, olives perfect.

Not the largest beach but there is enough space between each sun umbrella. The restaurant is really super, go for Pasta and desserts and you’ll be very happy; the sea is deep blue but could be cleaner.

We’ve been to That’s Amore several times, and it’s always been a great experience. The pistacchio-crusted tuna is the best we’ve had in Tropea, and the other dishes are just as delicious. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. A place we truly enjoy coming back to – definitely worth a visit!

The food at this restaurant was good, and the seafood was fresh and tasty. We were supposed to get grilled shrimp, but they forgot to bring it, so we canceled that part of the order. For two people, we spent 114 euros. The only thing we didn’t like was the waitress – she wasn’t very friendly. The atmosphere, however, was amazing! Very fun, lively, and full of energy. It’s loud, but in a really enjoyable way. Overall, a great place if you want good food and a really cool vibe!

That’s Amore is a real gem in Tropea! We came at 2 pm and were lucky to find it open (no siesta). Even though it was full, the staff were kind and attentive, and we felt truly cared for. The seafood platter was fresh and delicious, and both pastas — the anchovy with raisins and sun-dried tomatoes, and the carbonduja — were outstanding. Warm atmosphere, great service, and authentic flavours — highly recommended! P.S. The price might look a bit too high but if you compare what you get for your € here and in some other places, it actually feels fair, because the quality, freshness, and care in service make a big difference. For starters, we ordered oysters (which were nice) and peppered mussels. Unfortunately, the mussels were terrible. While the mussels themselves were okay, the sauce was inedible — extremely salty to the point that we couldn’t eat it. For the main course, I chose pasta with aubergine mousse and swordfish — though I was informed by the waiter that the swordfish had been replaced with cod. Unfortunately, the dish didn’t smell good, was overly salty, and had no noticeable taste of aubergine. My partner ordered the lasagne, which was a complete disappointment. It consisted almost entirely of pasta, with barely any sauce and just a bit of meat on top. Truly awful. We told the waitress that we would like to pay and leave, as we found the food horrible and didn’t want to eat any more of it. Her response, however, was excellent — she truly did everything she could to turn the situation around. First, she offered to have our dishes remade, but we were afraid they would still be just as bad, so we asked if we could order pizza instead. They agreed, and thankfully, the pizza was quite good — we were happy to at least enjoy something. Unfortunately, even with the nicest staff possible, I cannot recommend this place. The food was mediocre at best — more accurately, it was just bad. Definitely our worst dining experience in Tropea.

The food was mediocre at best. Pasta was substandard. Lamb chops were small and tough. Service was terrible—the worst I have ever had. We had a party of four and one person was not served their food until after everyone else had eaten and the plates cleared. It was so hot, we weee all sweating. Don’t eat here

In one word, WOW! First of all the entrance, beautiful interior, very tasteful! The staff is very friendly and helpful and speaks English. The food was exceptionally good. Never had a tartare that was so tasteful! The spices and additives were a balanced entity. The Salomon with crusts and delicious sauce was heavenly. The meat was tender and the garniture on the plate was balanced. The fish was really fresh and the batter was perfectly thin. Also the salad and the potato wedges were very tasty. The accompanying wine was perfect! Unfortunately we can't give 6 stars, but what an underestimated restaurant is this! The octopus portion was really small, the taste of the octopus was okay, the taste of the potatoes was not good. The tuna pasta was not good. 3 years ago: Best food I’ve had in Italy. I’ve been driving from Milan to Sicily over the last 2 weeks, stopping off everywhere in between. This is without a doubt the best food I’ve had in all of Italy. I had the grilled octopus with tomatoes, the pasta with shrimp, and the seared tuna. All 3 dishes were absolutely phenomenal!! What’s also really nice is that the atmosphere is amazing. The place is designed to look like eating in a cave/castle.

The chef is talented, flavourful classics. The menu is a little big for such a small restaurant I have to say. The owner and the waitress were a little overwhelmed but very friendly. Very very nice people! I was entering the restaurant at the lunch hour because everything was closed and I wanted pizza margherita or french fries for my little girl. The owner told me that they don’t make pizza for lunch, but the can help me with fries. He also was so kind that he didn’t let me pay for them! Thank you again so much! The food was amazing. The desserts were so tasty. Had the pizza, chicken cutlet, and steak. For dessert, had the Rocher and Pistachio desserts. Everything l, including the service, was fantastic!

We had a great dinner here. We started with a mixed appetizer plate which was very good. For the main courses we had a Pizza Napoli, pasta Bolognese and a meat dish – all of them were delicious and nicely prepared. The portions were just right, the flavors authentic, and the atmosphere was cozy. The only small downside was that the house red wine tasted a bit unusual, but overall everything else was excellent. Definitely a place we would recommend and visit again.

This restaurant is a little out of the centre. We went there because it was near our accommodation and we had a nice time. First of all, the staff are friendly and polite; we came with our baby girl and they were really sweet with her. My husband had the pizza which he enjoyed. I had tuna with panko breadcrumbs which was also tasty. The house wine was good. The setting is really pleasant, underneath a pergola (hence the name 😅) with many beautiful plants. The price was fair. Overall, recommended!

After several poor experiences in the tourist area of Tropea we were recommended to try La Pergola. Best seafood place in Tropea! Avoid the tourist traps in the center of town and venture the 10 minute walk.

Food was just ok. We went for lunch. A bit pricey for the quality of the food. Service was good. Very nice serving staff. The indoor/outdoor terrace is cute but very hot on warm days. They have a large fan in use, but unless you are in it's path, it's hot in there!

We came here for my birthday dinner. The prices are high (6 euros for a side dish of rice) but the quality of the meat is good and the portions of steak are generous. The staff were friendly and professional. The only minus for us was the keyboard music...after more than one hour of loud live keyboard playing we were happy to leave. Shame because the atmosphere is nice...the music could be more appropriate for the setting.

This was a wonderful place that accommodated us last minute. We got into town pretty late and didn’t expect to find more than pizza but thank god for this place and the wonderful staff! Tomas and Paolo were the most wonderful and welcoming! I can’t speak more highly of them! The food was just as spectacular as the people! You will not regret a visit here!

Everything about this place was fantastic! The owner is extremely knowledgeable and takes great pride in the food he serves. The employees were friendly and attentive! One of the best steaks I have ever had! The wine list is also incredible!

We recently visit Tropea with my family, as we just bought a new condominium and we had plenty of time to explore the local restaurants. One of my sons, told us that Picanha 2 0 had the best reviews as a steakhouse so we went to try it out and we all (5 of us) being you can say, experts steak eaters, agreed that was one of the best tomahawk steaks, beef tartar, pastas we had tasted in Tropea. The food had and extra touch of flavors that made it exquisite! The atmosphere was perfect to enjoy dinner, the piano music was delightful with the perfect volume to enjoy of table conversation. We got to meet Maestro Cece (pianist) and also the owner who told us his world food adventures before returning to Tropea and opening this upscale steakhouse that without doubt, is the best! The price was reasonable and the service professional and friendly.

Great little steakhouse just out of town, well worth a visit. We had pasta then fillet steaks with roasted vegetables and the food was stunning 😍 Service was great too. Only downside for us was that they don't serve zero alcohol beer/wine but this seems to be the norm in Italy 😞

We had a fantastic meal at Picanha 2.0. The best meal we had during our stay in Tropea. The Tomahawk came out sizzling and was cooked to perfection. The owner and his team were wonderful hosts and collectively created a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend for a unique dining experience in Calabria!

We booked on line using ‘the fork’. This worked perfectly using one click. The restaurant was quite full which is a good sign given the low season. We had a good meal, and an even better 🍷. We were kindly served with attention from the person looking after the entire restaurant by himself. Prices are reasonable in a non pretense restaurant.

Nice restaurant with very good food. Like most restaurants in Tropea the food is only to a certain degree typical Calabrian food. Nevertheless, this place belongs to the better restaurants in Tropea. The young owners are friendly and the wine card is also offering a wide range of good wines.

A really lovely place to grab some delicious fresh seafood! The staff are immensely friendly, immediately greeting you with a lovely smile and ciao! They gave great recommendations and we had some fried calamari and onion rings. The seafood was incredibly fresh and clearly prepared with love. It wasn’t oily as all and just lightly dusted with crumbs. It is a bit expensive for a takeaway (about 13 euro a portion) however the portion size is fantastic and you can definitely share. There are benches close by with a great view where you can enjoy your meal. I would definitely recommend

Delicious food , definitely do not expect them to open on time. They open at noon not 11:30 am and they are also not open at 6:30 pm but closer to 7 pm. Still tasty. I may enjoy Demare more though.

The fried seafood tasted nice but calamari was a bit chewy. Service terrible and rude. 25 minute wait and they were not even busy.. 14 Euro was a bit Pricey too.

Got sea food options mixed with alici and shrimp and fried calmari topped with lime , good for two person to have a quick bite. Its about 13 euros affordable for the quality and location.

My recent visit to REM Tropea Vecchia in Tropea left much to be desired. While the service was passable, it felt impersonal; our server's inquiry about our meal seemed more like a formality than genuine interest, as he walked off before we could reply. The culinary experience was unfortunately quite poor. The complimentary bread was stale upon arrival. Had the fritta mista the shrimp Had not been deveined. For our mains, the Fileja alla ‘Nduja was a letdown, tasting predominantly of tomato paste rather than the vibrant 'nduja it should feature. The seafood pasta was marred by a bitter sauce, and I was particularly disappointed to find the shrimp had not been properly deveined as well. My steak was also overdone and had a ackward tasting grilled eggplant and zucchini vegetables with a white vinegar (tasted off) Frankly, this was not the pleasant dining experience one anticipates in Italy, a country renowned for its cuisine. My intention in writing this review is purely to offer constructive criticism, hoping it can contribute to improvements at REM.

This place has had some rough reviews recently but I can only speak to my own experience. Specifically that was 2 stiff negronis at happy hour prices, along with a free antipasti board. A comfortable 5 stars from me.

Very calm place just few steps from the main street. Specials of the day were amazing. I also enjoyed the service of an older italian man which made the place feel more authentic.

Best onion pasta I’ve ever had! Not bad prices either. Great atmosphere.

I just wanted to get what I ordered: a swordfish with tomatoes, capers and olives. But what I got was just a piece of fish (see pictures pls). Maybe the chef was not in the mood…🤔

Bad, if icould give a bigger minus than what Google already has, i would. I had servered to me, a very bad attemp at Lasagne. Servered cold, tasted of ready mix sauce. And for 9 Euro a real rip off. Service was ok until they could see something was wrong and then they just stayed away. Had to ask twice to pay. On tbe bill was an extra 2 Euro for where i had sat. This is the only place in Tropea that i have had to pay to sit to eat the worst meal i have ever eaten in a Restaurant. So as you may have already worked out i will never be back here. I will not be be recommending this Restaurant to any body.

A good quality food a little overpriced but overall acceptable considering the location. The restaurant location is right in the heart of the town, few meters away from the panoramic viewpoint "affaccio del corso". This restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining and reservation is not mandatory. The food quality is good, with a decent selection of seafood dishes. No pizza options are available here. The service is the only very disappointing note. The waitresses (only two) are extremely slow and it takes up to 20 minutes just before someone can even take your order, and up to 35 minutes before any food is served, finally up to 15 minutes just to bring a bill. Overall the restaurant is good but definitely needs a big change in the service management.

Once had lunch and once had dinner here in the week we stayed in Tropea. The food was delicious. Very simple pasta's but delicious. Had some waiting time but we were offered a glass of bubbles so that was no problem at all.

Our favorite pizza establishment was closed due to it being a Monday so we decided to try a takeaway pizza from this highly rated restaurant. It was an utter disappointment. As I waited for the pizza I witnessed a waiter collect a plate with a pizza on it from the guy making pizzas, touch some topping on the pizza with his bare hands, and move it elsewhere. Then upon return, he smiled at the pizza maker and licked the finger he touched the pizza with. It made me question hygiene of the staff. When we received our pizza we left to go eat out in the open public square. When we opened the box it was noticed how wet and runny the sauce base was, practically uncooked and dripping. Upon picking up a piece we realised this thing was a floppy mess. See the video... We were starving by this point so ate what we could, but probably should have returned it. Overall a significant disappointment and shocking product from a highly rated establishment.

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT & AMAZING!! The food = BOOM! The atmosphere = BOOM! The location = BOOM! The staff = Forgot about us at a point, but BOOM! Everything was perfect, the food is just divine, and the staff, even though they forgot our water in the beginning, was sweet. Tends to be quite full so we recommend a reservation if possible or going early, though the waiting time for the food is not long. This pizzeria was amazing! We had one of the best pizzas we’ve ever tasted in Tropea. The crust was perfect, the toppings fresh and flavorful, and everything cooked to perfection. Definitely a must-visit!

The service is appalling. We arrived at 8.30pm got told its half hour wait and put our name on the list for 2 people. Other people arrive after us with larger groups and got preferences. We queried this and were told that's just how it is, big groups first. By 10pm the crowd were getting annoyed and so angry. We got seated at 10.00pm, our food arrived at 10.50pm. The pizzas is good, however its was soggy. Wouldn't go back just cause I hate waiting and eating that late 😒

Pizza was incredibly tasty, the dough perfectly cooked and the ingredients nicely balanced, overall 10/10 pizza, I recommend 100%, you should try it while in Tropea ❤️

Not poured by the table - there was no olive at tables ao qe couldnt add it in case we wanted We were at the opening so was full of place, but 1 hour after us there was huge queue so come earlier. My Favourite Restaurant in Tropea! This was hands down my favourite restaurant during my entire trip in Calabria. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of flavour, fresh, and so well-priced compared to everywhere else we ate. You can really taste the quality, and the portions were generous too. What made the experience even better was our amazing waitress, Martina. She was so kind, attentive, and welcoming — she made us feel right at home. Her service was truly exceptional and made our night unforgettable (except we came back 3 nights in a row) If you’re in the area, this place is a MUST. Ask for Martina — she’s the best!

We‘ve been here two times and enjoyed the warm atmosphere. The waiters were very kind and the food was very delicious. If we‘re in Tropea again, we will definitely visit them again!

We are well-traveled, seasoned pasta lovers who’ve twirled forks around noodles all over the world, but nothing prepared us for the absolute joy we experienced here. This place? Unbelievable. Unbelievable. UNBELIEVABLE. We told the staff that three times and we’ll say it again for the people in the back! The pasta? Next level. The pea pasta? A revelation. We came in hungry, left in love, and are already planning our return. Discovered this gem on my last night in Tropea... Smooth service, with great people. And the food... It makes me want to come back, only to eat here ! My wife had lasagna fresca ( comfort and peace) while I had the fileja freschi con fagioli, cozze, tonno.. by all means, do not miss that, you will thank yourself for the choice !! Good local wine as well. A must visit, at least once !

Came all the way from Australia to Tropea and stumbled upon this amazing restaurant… what a find! The food was absolutely incredible, and the service was just as impressive. The waiters were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make our experience special. We shared a few dishes: tender meat with mushrooms, pepperonata with potatoes, and a mix of fresh vegetables. We even asked for fried onions (not something on the menu) and they happily made it for us. Everything was cooked to perfection! My dad never tips, but for the first time ever, he did — and if that’s not a sign that this place is worth visiting, I don’t know what is. Highly recommend! A true Calabria experience!

Amazing restaurant! We've ate onion soup and parmigiana for first course, both dishes were delicious. For main course we chose tuna steak, one with pistachio crust and one with onion. Both were very good but pistachio one was better :) really nice place with good waiters. Some waiting time for the food.

Took my family of 4 here as we all wanted to visit the historic town and eat some quality sea food. Viola and Anthony were amazing hosts, the sword fish steaks and tuna pistachio steak were to die for. So much so I split them with my other half. If you get chance to visit this wonderful restaurant in the heart of Tropea, treat yourself, you wont be disappointed.

We met the loveliest host standing outside the front of this Osteria and decided to return for dinner . What an excellent decision that was . This is a welcoming Osteria and is run by gentle & kind people . We had the onion fritters, potato cakes with Nduja hearts , sword fish & tuna with pistachio crust . All cooked to perfection and accompanied by a dangerously, palatable local rose .The Osteria is located in an atmospheric ,historic building.. It is reasonably priced and a hidden gem . Highly recommended for a memorable experience.

My husband and I dined here this evening and were blown away by the quality and flavour of all of our dishes - just as good as our Italian mother's homemade food. We had (and highly recommend) the Antipasto Tropeano, onion fritters, mussels and faggioli con salsiccie (beans and pork sausages). Such incredibly tasty food and, as it was a quiet night, we had our own personal waiter who was attentive, informative and passionate about his local cuisine. Topped off with a wonderfully light locally produced red wine, we walked away extremely full and extremely happy. Five stars to this restaurant, and more if we could!!

Literally the best pasta I’ve ever eaten. The staff were amazing. Highly recommend it.

We don’t normally dine in restaurants with the 3.7 rating review. Thought we’d take a flyer on this one because it had a nice ambience. Service was very attentive in the beginning as we were one of the first tables there for the evening. We ordered a craft of local red wine and it was served cold. We had to refuse it at ask for one that was room temperature. We started off by ordering tomato, onion, cucumber, and olive salad. We typically start off our meals with a salad. Unfortunately, this one came with way too much red onion, not enough tomato, and the tomatoes weren’t very ripe. My wife had the mixed grill fish, and I had the carbonara. My carbonara didn’t seem to have enough pancetta, although the flavor was OK. Her grilled fish was just OK. During our meal, our ambience was quickly ruined when a local guitarist stationed himself in two spots in the alley and played music while singing and then passing a tray around to collect money. I don’t mind people trying to earn a living, but not while I’m trying to have a nice, quiet dinner.

€50 per person for three course meal-starter, main, desert and wine. The location, atmosphere and ambience was great. Truly cozy and cute Italian vibes. Very friendly service. Good quality food. The risotto was exceptional. The tuna was exceptional. The swordfish was great. The tiramisu was okay (too creamy for my personal taste I would prefer more bread/biscuit and booze) overall very nice experience. … the presentation of the food is very good… So good we ate before we could take photos 😆

The food was not good at all. We ordered sord fish and it had no flavour and the fish meat had such a fishy smell to it. They forgot our drinks at the start of the night so had to re ask and when did they bought out the incorrect drinks out. The risotto we had, the seafood tasted undercooked. I don’t recommend this restaurant.

Amazing vibe with delicious food. Outside seating area is magical. I recommend to try gnocchi and grilled octopus with mashed potatoes. So tasty!

The Food was Great and staff was extremely helpfull and kind even sometimes we didn't have same language, everything went just perfect. And we had wonderfull evening at their restaurant. I can warmly recomend Osteria Del Pescatore restaurant for couples and for bigger groups also. The prices are also reasonable, full set food with bottle of wine was only 76€ for 2 persons.

We've found Osteria Del Pescatore to be a little hit or miss. Sometimes the meals are fantastic, and other times they're a bit less so. We plan to try them again to make a better decision on which is more likely.

This place was across from where we’re staying. It was local food at its finest. Their ‘Nduja was great as was the rest of our board. Server was great as well, helpful and friendly. Wish we had a place like this in the states.

Amazing food experience. Frist restaurant since 3 days of being here that serves olives and bread for arrival and proper traditional Calabrian delicious food. And if you can't finish they pack to take away.

Really nice typical eatery. They serve delicious local products. Plenty of Cold cuts, panini, focaccie (flat dough), local beers and wines.

Everything was exceptional from service to food, we were served right away and did not wait a lot for our food to arrive. We ordered one of their boards which was 20 euros and it was worth it!

If you want good quality traditional Calabrian food in Tropea then this is the place to go. We dined in 2/3 nights that we were here and couldn’t recommend it more. Very reasonably priced and the service is top notch. Get in before the queue starts to fill up around 8pm.

Expect a major wait time; it took 40 minutes for a simple plate of pasta, and the place was half empty. The pasta was just average, not worth noting. The staff was trying to ignore the situation and tend to other tables. If you're expecting to waste a holiday night waiting, this is the place to be

The waiter was very friendly, especially with our little grandson who had turned 1 year old that day, he had a baby daughter that he was extremely proud of and he showed us pictures of her. We only went for drinks, but the food on the other tables looked amazing.

After staying a week and walking by this spot a few times we are glad we tried it. Fennel orange salad, seafood pasta, veal schnitzel type dish all really good. Medium priced. Service was very fast, we didn't even have time for a 2nd glass of wine ! Not a complaint, just let them know if you're not in a hurry. Friendly service, ate outside on the cute covered terrace. Lots of locals as well as tourists. We reserved and it was late September , still moderately busy.

We had a mixed experience here. The food was decent and two of the younger waiters were friendly. However, the older, bald waiter was noticeably less pleasant, especially towards the end of our meal, which affected the overall atmosphere. Unfortunately, his attitude made us feel a bit unwelcome, which took away from what could have been a nice dining experience.

Very, very dissappinted (ate the letter “O” because I’m still hungry) with the size of the portions. The swordfish roll was a ridiculously small baby portion ( placed in the second course menu, not the appetizer one…..) the taste was also questionable for the price of €18. The “shrimp” risotto had only the heads and no main bodies of the shrimps for the outrageous price of €28 Would not recommend at all!!!

Exquisite Calabrian cuisine , great service and rich wine menu. Strongly recommended when visiting Tropea.

Ordered grilled red tuna, got white "tuna" half of which was overcooked, dry and hard to chew, no side dishes. Pasta with shrimps was average, lots of pasta and 3 shrimps, although sauce was very oily. Both meals were 16€ each, no idea what they charged additional 4€ for. Waiter didn't speak a word of english.

Dont go to the restaurant. We had just drinks, no foods and couvert 2€ for person. Are you serious? No way! Never more!!!! Cheaters!

We came here for dinner and tried the carbonara and gnocchi. Both were terrible! The spaghetti carbonara was basically scrambled eggs, and not creamy whatsoever. As well, the spaghetti was very undercooked and hard to eat. The gnocchi was just pasta and cheap tomato sauce, nothing else! The staff weren’t the friendliest either, just not that welcoming. As soon as I put the last mouthful of food in my mouth the waiter rushed to collect my plate while I was still eating. Would have preferred them to let me finish chewing before rushing over to me.

Unfortunately the food is barely edible... the carbonara is very scrambly and not creamy. Also the guanciale looks very strange and not as cooked. I have tried carbonara many times but this didnt live up to standards, I am very sorry for this. The waiters were absolutely lovely in catering to my needs. Initially the vongole i tried, most of the shells were closed and it tasted sandy.

Food is a solid 3 for lunch. Calzone made with deli ham and canned mushrooms was filling but nothing special. Good service and a nice location bumped it to a 4*.

The portions are too small, and the staff are not friendly at all and a bit rude. The pasta with nduja was not good at all. it was mostly tomato sauce and red pepper. No sign of nduja in the dish.

Atmosphere is nice it’s quiet which we liked. The service is terrible. It took forever to get a waiter to our table and then to get our wine. The food came out slowly but not so bad. It kind of felt like when we got there we were ignored but we saw almost everyone there were not even eating probably waiting for the server or their food to come out so I don’t think it was just us. The food was subpar. My husband got a pasta dish that was amazing and the seafood app was great. I got the mussels and they were HORRIBLE. I’m American but I’m from NY and I’m first generation Italian so I have a pretty good palate and these were gross. Like dirty water no flavor. We ended up going to another restaurant where we had mussels that were better just so I could eat some dinner. You might get lucky with some dishes but I would not recommend over all.

Amazing food and service. One of the best meals i’ve had in Italy. I highly recommend the dishes with red onions because it’s a local ingredient.

The setting is pretty impressive: an antique basement with stonewall and classical decoration, no phone reception. The waiters didn’t speak any English. Foods were a bit disappointing: the steak didn’t have side dishes except a tiny salads; and seafood pasta wasn’t seasoned well. Though we very enjoyed the atmosphere we did expected the foods to live up with the restaurant’s appearance.

The best pizza in Tropea. This is always the first place we go once we get in town. Everything we've had here has been good, but the pizza is our favorite. The red onion and caper pizza in particular is outstanding and quickly became my favorite pizza topping. I definitely suggest checking this place out, it is well worth it!

I had a nice experience here, and I am talking about the food taste! The place looks very nice, the toilets are clean, old style! The only thing I wasn’t satisfied, was the welcoming and service! I found the team cold and a little bit lazy…after seating I think we had wait more than 5 minutes to order! I was very upset cause I asked constantly someone to take our order, there were 5 guys ( waiters/piccolo) nearby and none reacted! Later I understood, that the Jungs don’t have the right to take orders ! I wanted a tasty grill after the disappointment I lived by Fame da lupi, and I was very happy that I chose this place! The owners were great. I wanted to have a special evening for an anniversary and the owner went out of their way and brought in a delicious cake from a nearby pastry shop and my wife was so surprised. Great food and so hospitable. I would recommend. They have great views of tge coatline too.

Really nice restaurant with a great view. The food was really good especially the Verdure with different local tapas but the pizza was just ok in my opinion. In addition to, the prices was normal and the drinks quite cheap. The stuff was ok but they speak only Italian and maybe some words in English. But other than that a nice place to eat.

Friendly staff. Great food. We had the mussels which were absolutely delightful. The pizza was pretty darn good too. Would recommend. They have a really nice view.

Owner mistreats her employees, so even though the restaurant looks good from the outside, the inside is a dark place with a toxic environment. The food is just ok, nothing special, so I’d recommend going somewhere nicer. There are plenty of places cheaper and with better offer in Tropea

We ate this pinsa in 2021 and still thinking about it. Tried many others in many different places in Italy and other countries as well, never found the same taste we had in Lucignolo. It was just SO TASTY!!! If I ever go to Tropea again, the first thing I am gonna do is to go there and eat a pinsa again. And service was very helpful and kind too. Just a perfect place.

We liked the appetizer plate even though we found it contained a bit too many fried appetizers. We also enjoyed the typical Tropea dish Pasta with red onions. The house wine was all right, the service was very friendly and the prizes absolutely fair.

Very good local food. We had local pasta and Aperol Spritz which came with a small platter of local specialties. The restaurant was off the beat on a quiet plaza. The service was very charming (especially the owner) Definitely recommended.

A very relaxed atmosphere restaurant with good food. Don't expect Michelin star service, but the schef will bring out a guitar and sing with you if provoked. Go there if you like relax atmosphere, flashmob parties, and good food. Might require a bit more of hand work (gestures) if you don't speak Italian, but is worth the effort!

The location was nice a little bit hidden in the small streets. The waiter was very friendly and the food came very fast. I had mussels and pasta with shrimps. The mussels were very fresh but the shrimps were not so good and also some small cheap ones. So one star less, but still a nice place to visit.

The restaurant is tucked in a lovely alley with a cozy vibe. The staff are super friendly and attentive. The menu is small but full of daily specials. We had peppered mussels (just okay) and polpette di melanzane (amazing). Mains—linguine with red prawns and grilled tuna—were both excellent, especially the standout tomato sauce on the pasta. Tiramisu was a letdown—dry and underwhelming. Overall, a great experience, especially for the mains and atmosphere.

Absolutely loved this restaurant in Italy! The food was incredible, the environment warm and inviting, and the hosts couldn’t have been kinder. The salted fish is an absolute must-try. Can’t wait to come back!

We went there after the recommendation of a local merchant, and were not disappointed. Perfectly cooked sword fish and veal ; and good atmosphere with highly professionnal waiters.

I recently dined at 3Nodi and had a delightful experience. The atmosphere was lovely, with a charming ambiance that made the evening quite enjoyable. Upon arrival, we found our initial table to be uncomfortably warm. The waiter, noticing our discomfort, graciously went out of his way to relocate us to a cooler spot, which we greatly appreciated. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the fish we shared between the four of us. It was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. However, there was a slight hiccup with the filleting. The waiter, in his eagerness, removed a bit too much meat, resulting in what we felt was unnecessary waste. As for the side dishes, we were informed that the fish would come with potatoes and tomatoes. Unfortunately, the portion provided was insignificant for 4 persons, necessitating an additional order of side dishes despite the waiter’s assurance that the initial serving would suffice. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was very positive. The food was excellent, the service attentive, and the atmosphere enchanting. I would certainly recommend 3Nodi for a pleasant dining experience.

Great location, classy restaurant. The raw tower was wonderful, with the exception of the tuna, which smelled and tasted like it wasn't fresh. I found the pasta dishes to be quite disappointing, as they are strangely sweet. I wanted the grilled platter, but by mistake I got served the fried platter, which was just ok.

Went for a light lunch. Excellent beef carpaccio with truffle oil and red fruits. Excellent homemade pasta with shrimp. Received grilled shrimps I stead of grilled calimari as ordered. Did not send back for correction as we were on a tight timeline. Shrimp was ok, but would have preferred the calimari.

Bad food. Italy can do better then this. Salat was a shredded salat, no oil, no salt, no soul. Pasta came with jist a few shrimps that had little meat. My raw seafood came with some pineaple but without any sort of condiments or at least a lemon.

A beautiful place, full of welcoming people and the food

Went twice during our holiday as enjoyed the food so much. Had arancini and beers and water and came to less than €10 each so great value. Service is quick and efficient. Toilet clean and working which we learnt is definitely not a guarantee around this area of Italy!

We stopped here after the beach in order to have a light snack after staying in the sun and climbing the long steps. The menu is vast, and if nothing suits your needs, they provide you with the possibility of making your own panino. Little waiting time, plenty of seating, and food served warmed. Couldn’t have found a better mid-day snack / lunch.

On Ave Umberto I, this place was full of tourists and the wait was about 15 minutes. There are about nine tables or so. Quite the selection of sandwiches which were pretty big. We saved half of each sandwich for a light lunch the following day. Overall reasonably priced and delicious.

Best paninis in Tropea! Went back twice during our 3 day stay. Highly recommend.

The worst Arancini I have ever eaten.

We had a really great dinner at Le Volpi e l’Uva. For Tropea, it has average prices (compared to the rest of Italy it is a bit expensive though). We had the red onion pasta and clam pasta and we loved both but we would definitely recommend the red onion pasta. The portion sizes were great. The service was friendly and the restaurant is down a quiet street. It’s a lovey casual and cosy restaurant.

We found this place thanks to a recommendation from Massimo at Eolie House. It's a delicious and authentic spot with traditional Calabrian cuisine. Excellent value for money!

Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. I ordered the spaghetti alle vongole, but the pasta was poor quality and not fresh. For the price, you can easily find much better portions and fresh pasta elsewhere in Tropea. The mixed grill was overcooked and tasted burnt — it came with a heap of lettuce and no fish at all. Service was also disappointing; they made a mistake on the bill and didn’t even apologise, acting as if they were doing us a favour. Staff didn’t thank us or acknowledge us when we left, which summed up the experience

Great location I the center of Tropea. But we had a bad experience eating there and the service was without any heart. My children had a hamburger with fries and a tomato soup. The soup was decent but the hamburger was a beef served without anything but the fries, like the didn’t care at all. My wife had a pasta which were ordinary and I had tagliatelle di Manzo (sliced beef with rocket salad) and this dish were terrible. It was tasteless and the beef was very tough and almost inedible. Tourist trap experience.

Simply a great place in Tropea. Giovanni and his staff looked after us perfectly. My wife and I had a great time. We had seafood platter, and the seafood pasta. Simply one of the best. Price was on point. Giovanni recommended a perfect white wine to pair our food. Grazie Milli Giovanni. 👌👌

Foods were alright but the vibe is quite touristic. The staffs literally asked their kids to behave because “there are tourists”. Quite pricy but understandable given the location.

Went to this restaurant ordered, took 1 hour to bring our food, just to bring the wrong order, then we told him to bring some pommes since it would take forever for an other plate, and then it took another 50 minutes for the pommes just to ask again if we wanted some pommes. An other thing, the menu outside was pointing out other prices, with increased prices in the menu on the table. Terrible service!

A pretty nice place overall, the staff spoke some English, can't say anything bad about the service - except we couldn't pay separately. The aglio olio I had was a bit too much olio and wasn't very salty but not bad. One of my friends had bolognese, which I tried and was really good. The other had a chicken steak that was really thin, with a bland salad, she said she'd rate the food 3/5.

la peor experiencia. Me pedi pasta con langostinos, y vino sin carne de langostino, pero si con carcazas vacias. La excusa es que cocinas mucho la salsa y el langostino desaparece🤌🏼Un horror. Mi novio pidio la lasagna de carne, es muy chica. Y lo que mas nos molesto es que vino sin carne! Encima el mozo se burlo diciéndole que si era vegeteriano. Worst expierence for us, other restaurants in Tropea are lovely. I order pasta with lobster, and it came lots of pasta with empty shells and no lobster to eat or to savor, we complained and they did not bother to care or change it. Also my boyfriend order de lasagna and it was little, it came with no meat he thought it had eggplant in it, he liked the sauce though but no meat at all, so the price is not worth it in both cases, so sad, and they dare to mock him, not even said sorry to us. Awful experience. Do not reccomend at all.

Antica Pescheria is a nice fish restaurant located in Tropea. It has a pleasant and authentic vibe that makes you feel comfortable. The staff is very friendly, and the food is also good, with fresh seafood dishes. It’s a great place for groups and families, offering ample seating and a welcoming atmosphere.

Some of the ingredients listed in menu were missing on my crudo misto plate. The ones that were there were fresh and tasty.

I completely fail to understand such low ratings. The food is delicious!!! I ate pizza as well as three types of pasta. And everything was excellent! The lime sorbet - wonderful!!! And the service by Mimmo professional and at the highest level. I heartily recommend it to everyone! ❤️

Horrible service stay away! Was there August 4th with family and friends. We were sitting on a slant which was pretty uncomfortable. Most of the outside seating is slanted. One of the worst customer service experience in a restaurant! Besides the food taking a lot of time, the waiters kept on bringing the wrong plates & wanting to take a few peaoples plates just as they were about to finish their last bite! Also, some people (such as 2 small kids) got their food at the end while everyone else was almost finished! The babies/kids should be served 1st. Especially when my son of 3 years old ordered the same pasta all'olio as another 5 year old boy and the latter got it 30 min later. One of my friends ordered a small plate of fried fish and was charged the same price as a big plate. Even if it's the case, where the small plates are the same price as the bigger, it's the job of the waiter to inform clients. The head waiter with the streaked blonde hair was really uptight and seemed all worried! He could have still least not charged for the coffee at the end as a good gesture for all the wait and service. The only good thing about the horrible service was that the food was pretty good. But only after I got to thr resto where I checked on Google and saw that it had a rating of 3.6 stars. Not surprised and should have went elsewhere. Fo yourself a favor and chose another restaurant in Tropea there are many that are way better!

Avoid at all costs. Terrible food, tasteless and overpriced. They even charge €3 coperto for toddlers under 3 years old who don’t eat or drink anything. Worst value in Tropea.

We had dinner here. The food came separately, so one of us had their food for almost 10 minutes before the food of the other came. The carbonara sauce didn’t have much taste, the pasta itself was delicious though. The ravioli was good, but there wasn’t much flesh from the langoustine, so definitely not worth the €21 we paid.

We had an okay meal at Hostaria Italiana. Our food was broadly okay, I ordered a pasta dish and my partner some fish. The fish was overcooked and my pasta with Tropea onions was nice, but not as good as others nearby. Good option if you’re just looking for something quick.

I found hair in my food and got sick, and after i told them, they offerd to bring me another plate which i refused because i was already feeling sick to my stomach. They said sorry and after they didn’t even came to take my husband’s plate, i think it was because they felt ashamed. In the end i paid even for the hair food. I usually come to Tropea every year, but i will definitely not eat here again!

My recommendation for you - seafood salad and calamarata with tuna and red tropea onion. The portions are really big, stuff are nice and friendly ❤️❤️

Excellent restaurant with the best pizzas we ate in Italy. The service is great, they respond to any request for changes in dishes and are very indulgent. The service of the waiters is very courteous. Thank you for a pampering, delicious and satisfying experience!

NEVER AGAIN! NO ONE SHOULD BE EATING HERE Horrible service. I found a hair in my gnocchi, and it took forever for anyone to notice me because no server ever checked on our table. When I finally asked for the check and explained I wouldn’t pay for that dish, the manager blamed me for not asking for a new plate — even though no one offered. Eating after my whole family was not an option. On top of that, the rude older man at the door disrespected my husband and even tried to get physical. Never again
