Island
Isola Bella is a small, rocky island located within a nature reserve in Sicily. It is known as the Pearl of the Ionian Sea and offers stunning pebble beaches and rich marine life. Visitors can take a boat tour from Giardini Naxos to explore the Grotta Azzurra and Isola Bella, enjoying hidden bays, coral-inhabited caves, and crystal-clear waters for snorkeling.
Very beautiful island! I wasn’t allowed to enter because I was wearing just my bikini top and shorts, swimwear is not allowed. Be aware that the ground is covered in pebbles, not sand, so water shoes are highly recommended.

I took the Funivia down from Taormina-10 euro for a round trip ticket, departs every 15 minutes, and the 4 carriages can hold 48 passengers. After you're down at the station, you take a short walk down a road with a small shoulder past shops to find the staircase on the seaside of the road. The stairs are a bit deep and may be challenging for children or those with mobility issues. There is a hand rail. Folks selling merchandise line the staircase. Walk past the beachfront bars, restaurants and chairs for rent to find a very pebbly, crowded beach. Lots of ladies walking around trying to sell you massage. I didn't make it across bc I was on a time crunch and it was too busy. Worth the stop in the off season- I'm not sure it'd be worth coming down in the summer. Really a beautiful spot, but just as enjoyable from above. I'd recommend finding one of the sandier beaches just north of town.
Kat B — Google review
Crystal clear water, fishes easily seen at shallow water without snorkelling equipment. Got shower facilities and umbrella rental. Be careful of the rock at the beach and seabed. Some review suggests you need to pay to get in, but we cannot find any ticket office at the beach, which seems to be an open area free for access.
Lydia C — Google review
Beautiful island but keep in mind lots of stairs to reach it and it is a very popular place, so itll be very full and also the water is very shallow, rock shoes recommended. Also there is a few beach clubs if you wish to but also not necessary. Showers at the beach are also available and working if you would like to remove salt. There are also boat tours that will take you out.
Carlos G — Google review
Absolutely stunning place! 🏝️ Isola Bella is a real gem of Sicily — beautiful nature, crystal clear water, and views that look like a postcard. It’s a protected area, so everything feels wild and untouched. Perfect spot for photos and relaxing by the sea. Just a heads-up: to reach the actual island, you need to walk across a pebble beach and then wade through shallow water. It’s not deep at all, but the stones are very slippery, and I made the mistake of wearing regular sandals. Ended up slipping and cutting my foot on the rocks 😅 So I’d really recommend wearing water shoes — especially if you’re visiting with kids. Totally worth visiting, just come prepared and enjoy this magical spot!
Victoria R — Google review
A magical place — a must-visit! You can reach the island by boat from Stresa — round trip costs about €10. The island is small but absolutely stunning. The Borromeo Palace is truly impressive — luxurious interiors, marble, frescoes, antique furniture, and artwork. Everything is beautifully maintained, and each room feels like a museum. The garden is like a fairytale: cascading terraces, fountains, statues, white peacocks, and breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore. It’s incredibly well-kept and perfect for a peaceful walk or photos. 💡 Useful info: • 🎟 Entry to the palace and gardens is about €20. • ⛴ Boats from Stresa depart every 15–30 minutes (€10 round trip). • 🕰 Mornings are the best time to visit — fewer crowds. • 🚻 Toilets, cafés, and seating areas are available. • 📷 Fantastic photo opportunities, a relaxing and inspiring atmosphere. 📍Isola Bella is a magical blend of nature, art, and aristocratic elegance. Absolutely unforgettable!
Julia — Google review
The beach is nice but the water is very cold. The good thing is the big place that you have as “public space” so you don’t need to pay for umbrella to stay all day here. To go inside the “Isola Bella” island (natural reserve) you need to pay 6 euros per person, and you can go inside only without “swim clothes”. You need to know that in this area to arrive in Isola bella, it’s chaotic to find a place for car, so it’s impossible to park, if you pay 20/25 euros per day, you have private parking close to the beach but I think it’s very very expensive. So I recommend to go here without the car if you can.
Daiana C — Google review
Beautiful beach, stunning nature, crystal clear waters. Boat trips around Isola Bella are a must. Even if it gets crowded, the scenery makes it absolutely worth it.

Parks
Villa Comunale di Taormina, also known as Parco Duca di Cesaro, is a charming destination for leisurely strolls through beautifully landscaped gardens offering stunning views of the sea and the city below. Originally designed by Lady Florence Trevelyan in the late 19th century, this picturesque public garden features native Mediterranean and exotic plants, ornamental pavilions, and fountains.
Villa Comunale, Taormina is a true gem nestled in the heart of the city — a peaceful, beautifully landscaped public garden that’s the perfect escape from the bustling streets. We visited this week and were blown away by how serene and charming it is! The garden paths wind through lush flowers, ancient olive trees, and stone terraces that offer stunning views over both the Ionian coastline and Mount Etna. It’s a wonderful spot for a leisurely stroll, a quiet moment of reflection, or even a picnic with those breathtaking vistas. Clean, well-kept, and almost radiating old-world charm, Villa Comunale is an oasis of calm. We especially loved the shaded benches, the gentle fountain sounds, and the sense of history all around. Highly recommend a visit early in the morning or as the sun begins to dip — the lighting and atmosphere create an almost magical mood. A lovely way to pause, breathe, and enjoy one of Taormina’s best-kept secrets.
Luciano B — Google review
This city park is really lovely and very pleasant to walk around. There’s plenty of space with wide paths and lots of benches, perfect for sitting and enjoying the surroundings. The greenery is beautiful, a mix of palm trees and regular trees, and in the late afternoon when the sun starts to set, it looks especially nice. There are small fountains with fresh drinking water, several decorative fountains, and even a historic building adding some charm. There’s also an outdoor gym with various exercise machines, though a few of them are slightly damaged. A few small vendors sell ice cream, drinks, or snacks. From some spots in the park you can enjoy views of the rocks and the sea. There’s a playground for children and overall it’s quiet and peaceful, a great place to relax and spend time outdoors.
Stormson — Google review
Wonderful place! Such tall cacti there so beautifully placed. We took a lot of pictures and the sea view was amazing. Totally worth to come back to Taormina.
S T — Google review
The park was stunning. We made sure to dine close by so we could wander back after nightfall and experience it in a different light. Darkness didn’t make it unsettling—it felt timeless, almost like walking through a preserved moment in history.
Sasa S — Google review
The Villa Comunale, Taormina is a beautiful gem tucked away that we came across while wondering through the city. It is filled with so much history and serenity. It's so calming and quiet. My boys even played on the little playground in the middle of the park. Picturesque ocean views can be seen at certain points and there are tons of photo opportunities throughout. A great family place to just stroll through after the hustle and bustle of the center city to gather ones self before dinner or even early in the morning. This is a must see on your itinerary.
Angela I — Google review
Such a gorgeous and unique place! Definitely visit, you won't regret it. It's absolutely stunning and has amazing views over the bay
Lyndsey D — Google review
Sit here a while. Let the silence speak. In this suspended garden above the sea, even time forgets to hurry, between the sky and the Ionian Sea, Villa Comunale feels like a secret garden dreamt by someone who once loved too deeply. Built upon the vision of Lady Florence Trevelyan, an English noblewoman who found exile and rebirth in Sicily, the park carries her quiet longing — a dialogue between stone, sea, and solitude. Walking through its shaded paths, you move through fragments of her memory: terracotta towers draped in ivy, benches kissed by sun and time, and the whisper of jasmine carried by the wind. Every corner feels like a page of an old diary — half-forgotten, yet still alive. Then, as you reach the terrace, the world opens. Below, the coastline curves like a sleeping myth; beyond, Mount Etna breathes faint smoke against the horizon. You can almost hear the sea humming — a slow, endless hymn that has watched lovers come and go, artists paint and dream, and strangers rediscover the beauty of stillness.
Bel Z — Google review
Wonderful park on walking distance fron the center of taormina. Beautiful large trees and lots of cozy benches and shadow places to escape the heating sun. The view is amazing too. There are a few old buildings that remain from the english garden era. Also there is a great playground for the youngsters among us. The park is very well maintained.

Castles
Palazzo Corvaja is a medieval palace in the city, featuring a courtyard adorned with Christian reliefs and serving as an exhibition center. The palace has a rich history, with its initial cube-shaped tower built by the Arabs for town defense. Over time, it expanded to become the seat of the Sicilian Parliament, showcasing a blend of architectural styles including Arabic, Norman, and Gothic. After being abandoned post-World War II, it underwent renovation to preserve its unique characteristics.
Corvaja Palace, which is located in Piazza Badia at right angles to the church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, The origins of the palazzo incorporate an early Norman fortress dating from the 12th-14th century, which in turn was constructed on Roman foundations. It was subsequently added to over various periods up until the 15th century. Its main body is an Norman-style tower, and it has an inner courtyard where the Gothic influence can be seen in the arched windows and doorways. A 13th century staircase leads up to the first floor and an ornamental balcony which overlooks the courtyard. In 1410, Corvaja Palace housed the Sicilian Parliament.[1] It was renovated in 1945 by Armando Dillo, and as of 2009 it is the seat for the Azienda Autonoma Soggiorno e Turismo.
Homa — Google review
Palazzo Corvaja is on our right, shortly after entering Taormina from Porta Messina. A beautiful, comparative building, it combines different architectural elements, Arabic, Catalan, Gothic, Norman. The central tower is of Arabic construction from the 10th century, while the rest of the building was built in parts between the 13th and 15th centuries. It has a special arched entrance and a very beautiful internal courtyard with a staircase that ends in an internal balcony before the entrance to the 1st floor. The special architectural double and triple arched Arabic windows stand out, the sections of which are separated by small intermediate columns. It took its name (Corvaja) from one of the oldest and most famous families in the city, which owned it from 1538 to 1945. Today it houses the offices of the Sicilian Tourism Agency (APT).
John D — Google review
This palace dates from medieval times. The architecture presents different elements and styles. It was the prinary residence of the Corvaja family up until 1975. Now this historic monument houses a museum with exhibits from history and the tourist information office. From Taormina you get a good view of Mount Etna. The Church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, also known as the Church of San Giuseppe della Pia Societa Salesiana, is a restored Catholic church with baroque architecture and a small bell tower. It was built in the late 17th and early 18th centuries and features a facade made with Taormina marbles of different colors.
The Church is beatifull and the historic design and pictures are worth the visit!

Amazing place very pretty well maintained beautiful courtyard and the pastry shop a must if you are done of Sicilian sweets

Opposite Palazzo Corvaja we find this small but beautiful Baroque church. It was built in the 17th century, partly on the pre-existing Roman Odeon, which in turn was built on an ancient temple of Aphrodite. The church stands out for its special Baroque entrance, in which pink marble from Taormina was used. Above the entrance we see the statue of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Inside, the spiral columns and beautiful oil paintings stand out.
John D — Google review
The Church of Santa Caterina, built in the 17th century, stands on the ruins of a small Roman theater, traces of which can still be seen nearby. Dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria, it reflects Baroque style with elegant details. While not as grand as Taormina’s cathedral, its historical layers — from Roman to Baroque — make it worth visiting. A charming stop, though relatively modest compared to other monuments in town.

Train station
Taormina-Giardini is a charming railway station located about 1.5 kilometers from the town center of Taormina. The station is well-kept and clean, with an ambiance that resembles a museum due to its Roman artifacts and beautifully decorated walls and ceilings. It also offers a bar for quick breakfast or coffee on the go. The station provides easy access to major cities in Sicily, making it convenient for travelers exploring the region.
Once you arrive to Taormina-Giardini station outside is a small main road. You can find a bus to city centre or if you turn right and walk towards than on the left-hand side there is a trail sign and you can walk all the way up to the top of Taormina which is taking you around 20-30 minutes. Very steep small road but its worth it.
Hegyi G — Google review
A charming and picturesque station with stunning views of the sea and Mount Etna. The architecture reflects traditional Sicilian style, with beautiful tilework and an old-world ambiance that makes arriving here feel like stepping back in time. While the station is beautiful, travelers should be alert—platform changes happen often and with little notice. Keep a close eye on the departure screens and listen for announcements to avoid confusion. A scenic gem with a touch of unpredictability.
MD. H — Google review
If you need to take a bus from this station, be prepared for chaos. Bus tickets aren’t sold at a machine, but by a woman standing on the street — and she spent most of her time talking on the phone while a line of people waited. She ignored everyone for a while, then finally sold tickets, saying the bus would arrive in 10 minutes. It didn’t. She disappeared after that, and no one could get any information. When a bus eventually arrived, it was already full and didn’t let anyone on. We had to wait again, with no idea if another would come. Finally, after about 45 minutes, another bus came but could only take 7–8 people. The rest were left behind once more. The station itself is an old building with a beautiful interior, but the overall experience — especially for bus travelers — was incredibly frustrating and disorganized.
Nida Ö — Google review
The train station is right on the water with a beautiful view. It's a small and very clean location and your feel safe. Tickets from other cities are easy to buy. Once you get to Taormina train station take the bus up the mountain to the middle of town for 2 euro. Do not walk. It's 45 mins. And its like doing a stair master.
Jennifer K — Google review
Such a beautiful train station It also has lifts. Only issue is the taxi's outside who charge €20 euros for a 5 minute journey to the centre.
LJ M — Google review
A quaint older station. Bathrooms were hard to find being located outside at the end of the station and then you hand to PAY to use the lavatory which I feel is unconscionable in a public facility. The train employee was clueless as to whether our passage was allowed or not. As it turned out we could only travel on a regional train, not an inter-city. The employee told everyone they could board any train. The platform information was switched at the last minute so everyone had to make a mad dash under the tracks to board. I suppose as expected the train was 20 minutes late and got later as the trip progressed. The train itself was clean and comfortable.
C B — Google review
Lovely waiting room but no coffee, no toilet either that can be accessed without tokens that no longer exist. Work hard on your bladder control, not suitably for traveling with elderly relatives unless you previously restricted food and drink intake

Nestled in the heart of Taormina, the Biblioteca Comunale Ex Chiesa Sant'Agostino is a remarkable transformation of a Gothic church originally built in 1448. Initially dedicated to Saint Sebastian, who was believed to have saved the city from plague, it later became a monastery for the Hermits of St. Augustine. Over time, significant renovations occurred around 1700, including the addition of a bell tower and an updated entrance arch.

(Translated by Google) As can be seen from the facade and bell tower, this was once a church dedicated to Sant'Agostino. Built in 1486, it was a church until 1933 when it became a library. What books does it host? The texts of the former convents of Sant'Agostino, San Domenico and the former Capuchin Convent, whose subjects were Theology, Philosophy and Natural Sciences. The beautiful facade has undergone restoration over the years. In fact, I remember that when I was little, the color was much more white. What to say? The facade is aesthetically very beautiful, but the interior, well used as a library, is also beautiful. Absolutely worth visiting! Recommended! Consigliata!

Located within the Palazzo Corvaja in Taormina, the Museo Siciliano di Arte e Tradizioni Popolari showcases a diverse collection of 18th-century oil portraits, painted glass, donkey carts, and embroidery. The museum also features secular portraits of the mid-19th-century Sicilian bourgeoisie.

A beautiful old town with lots of history, high end shopping, and restaurants.
Bill A — Google review
At the far end of Corso Umberto, where the street narrows and the air begins to smell faintly of sea salt and espresso, stands Porta Catania is more than an entrance it’s a threshold between centuries. Step through, and you don’t just enter Taormina; you enter a whisper of history that still remembers you. The southern gate of Taormina. Built centuries ago, it has watched the town’s stories flow through like a living river of footsteps, laughter, and memory. Pass beneath its arch and you feel the shift from the modern rhythm of cafés and boutiques to the slow heartbeat of medieval Sicily. The gate’s basalt stones, darkened by Etna’s breath, still hold the warmth of the sun and the voices of those who once passed through: traders from Catania, pilgrims from afar, lovers sneaking back at dawn. Look up the coat of arms of Aragon still rests above the arch, a reminder that this island has belonged to many, yet always remained its own. From here, if you turn around, the mountains cradle the horizon; ahead, the old town unfolds like a woven tapestry of gold and ochre.

Porta Catania is one of the main medieval gates of Taormina, built in the 15th century under the Aragonese rule. Its coat of arms, with the Aragonese shield, still decorates the facade, marking the town’s historical connection with that era. The gate formed part of the city’s defensive walls and served as the entrance leading towards Catania. Today, it remains a well-preserved monument that reflects the strategic and architectural importance of Taormina during the Middle Ages."l

The beach boasts crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming and relaxing. With a peaceful atmosphere, it’s favored by locals for its cleanliness and calmness, making it an ideal spot to escape the hustle and bustle of nearby tourist hotspots like Taormina.
Beautiful beach with chill water, prices are good, not overpriced food and drinks, make sure you get some water shoes, most locals prefer here because cleanliness and calm, parking might be challenging, especially on the weekends

Piazza IX Aprile in Taormina is a charming square located at the end of the main street, Corso Umberto. Its name commemorates an event from 1860 when a rumor about Giuseppe Garibaldi's arrival to liberate Sicily started spreading. The square is surrounded by a balcony offering stunning views, outdoor terraces perfect for enjoying drinks, and two religious buildings - the Church of San Giuseppe and the Church of Saint Augustine.
A must-visit spot in Taormina! Piazza IX Aprile is absolutely breathtaking. The views over the coast and Mount Etna are stunning (especially at sunset). The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, with street performers and beautiful old churches surrounding the square. This piazza has a timeless magic that makes it unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sicily!

Taormina is a jewel. The piazza is full of life and the views are breathtaking. From here you can see mount Etna and mainland Italy. There is so much to do here and the food is amazing. Taormina is definitely worth a visit.

This square in the middle of town is a beautiful spot to stop at. The Piazza overlooks the sea. You can also see Mount Etna from the terrace. The atmosphere is nice. Although it is very popular and there are a lot of people, it's not overcrowded. There are often painters offering to paint portraits for people. Around the square are examples of magnificent architecture. Take the time to visit the church on the square. Follow the IG link in profile for more travel and food and drink tips, ideas and reviews!

Piazza IX Aprile is not just a square; it is the breathtaking living room of Taormina. This centrally located piazza is a must-visit, offering a flawless blend of natural beauty, historic architecture, and vibrant Sicilian life. The square’s signature black-and-white checkered pavement sets the stage for what feels like stepping into a perfectly composed photograph. The star attraction is, without a doubt, the unparalleled panoramic terrace. From the elegant railing, the vista stretches out over the crystalline Ionian Sea, providing a sweeping view of the Bay of Naxos below. On a clear day, the colossal, snow-capped silhouette of Mount Etna dominates the horizon, offering a dramatic backdrop that truly encapsulates the magic of Sicily. Catching a sunset here is highly recommended, as the light casts a golden, ethereal glow over the entire landscape. Anchoring one side of the square is the stunning Chiesa di San Giuseppe (Church of Saint Joseph). This 17th-century Baroque masterpiece is instantly recognizable by its beautiful façade, topped by an inscription and a niche with a statue of Christ. The church is accessed via a graceful, double-flight staircase with a balustrade of Syracuse stone, adding a theatrical flair to the square's composition. While the interior is worth a quick visit to admire the Rococo stuccowork and marble altars, the exterior presence of the church is what truly defines the square's historical character. The Piazza itself is a hive of activity, lined with atmospheric (if slightly pricey) cafés, perfect for sipping an espresso or aperitivo while people-watching. Street artists and musicians often contribute to the lively, sophisticated atmosphere. Flanked by the historic Torre dell'Orologio (Clock Tower) on one side and the Chiesa di San Giuseppe on the other, Piazza IX Aprile is truly the heart of Taormina and an unforgettable stop for any visitor.
Halide E — Google review
The Setting & Photographic Wow Positioned on the picturesque Piazza IX Aprile in the heart of Taormina, the church overlooks one of the most beautiful vantage points in town. From the square you can capture the church’s elegant Baroque façade, the charming clock tower (Torre dell’Orologio) nearby, and — on a clear day — sweeping views of the Ionian Sea beyond. It’s a truly “picture‑perfect moment” where architecture, history and coastal scenery meet. Its location in the lively, photogenic Piazza IX Aprile means you’re not just visiting a sacred site, you’re also in a space that lives and breathes Sicilian town life. The double flight of stairs leading up to the entrance adds drama and charm, making it a delightful spot for a relaxed stroll, a photo stop, or simply to sit and soak in the atmosphere.

The Odeon in Taormina is a compact archeological site dating back to 21 BCE. It features the open-air remains of a small Roman theater, located near the Church of Saint Catherine. The site also incorporates a wall from a temple dedicated to Zeus, which was later converted into the present structure.
The Odeon is a nice little archeological site near downtown Taormina. There are remnants of both a temple from 250 BC and an Odeon from 100 BC. The site was very accessible to the public and I was able to freely walk through the ruins. It doesn’t take too much time to explore. There’s a sign giving some information about the ruins. If you’re walking around Taormina, this is a great site to quickly check out.

Wonderful to see that places like this are free for people to experience. However, there HAS to be a person there to keep tourists from littering and using the corners as toalets. The site of this importance needs to be maintained better. Also, please let street musicians use the area for live music, that would be a perfect combo...
Tomislav K — Google review
A close-up view of the Roman Odeon in Taormina, Italy — ancient brickwork and stone seating reveal the intimate scale of this Roman-era theatre, tucked quietly behind the bustling streets, echoing with the cultural legacy of Sicily’s layered history.
Onbarefeet — Google review
Nice small archeological monument of a rare type, interesting and worth a quick visit. However, it's pretty built in by the surrounding houses, which makes its original state hard to imagine. There's just one table with a few explanations at the entrance (Italian and half length in English only), which isn't very detailed. This could be improved, as could the signposting, as I didn's see a single sign pointing towards this somewhat hidden site. Entrance is free by the way, the area is open from 09:00 to one hour before sunset.
Heinrich A — Google review
Yet another amazing structure rich with history. This little theatre used to be the edge of the town before they built up a huge wall to the east. The views would have been incredible. It’s similar in a lot of ways to tested antica but with some key differences as it was Greek in original construction (I think)
Gregg V — Google review
Awesome place to come, with a view of the whole city and the coastline on both sides that is hard to see elsewhere. The theatre is also very well kept itself and seeing the coastline through its center is very cool. Would definitely recommend this as a must do spot if you come to Taormina.

(Translated by Google) A municipality that only provides paid parking for the many tourists (and others) who perhaps want to spend a day at the beach is absurd! The only white stripes are provided for residents, the rest are blue stripes to be paid dearly... whole day 10 euros! All this in addition, obviously, to the entrance to the beaches, lunch and various expenses. Not to mention the dirt in the streets and the chaos in road traffic. As a Sicilian, I'm sorry to say this, but honestly the situation should be reported to the competent authorities, against such a municipal administration.

Unfortunately, they managed to convince me not to return and to recommend it to my friends anyway. Highly pedestrian focused and rife with cafes, retail stores, restaurants, gelaterias, piazzas, few amazing scenic spots, everything you can look for. Nice long and wide beach, made up of stones (mainly). The city could have taken a better care of this natural gem to my opinion. The beach is littered quite a bit. The beach area of Letojanni is excellent in the wintertime since it offers the possibility for delightful walks on the promenade. The sand is of small pebbles. The beach promenade has much potential to be a great place but is pretty much neglected. The Baroque church of San Giuseppe dominates the back of the beautiful Piazza XI Aprile. Unlike many other Baroque churches we visited in Sicily, this one is not so richly decorated. It is more simple and unassuming. A beautiful wide staircase takes you up to the church courtyard. The arched, according to Baroque architecture, entrance is made of pieces of white, gray and pink marble. High on the facade, above the entrance, there is a statue of Christ blessing the flock. Inside there are beautiful frescoes and several statues of saints. An interesting visit!

Beautiful romantic looking church. When we were there there was a huge wedding ceremony so we couldn't go in to see. It stands right outside the central piazza and has a great view of the sea.

A lovely simple Italian church. The visit is free. From its entrance there is a wonderful view of the square.

Taormina can be busy in summertime, the church of San Giuseppe offers a relaxing moment. Seen here in a 2013 picture.

Gabriele and his team at Jet Ski Rent Taormina Letojanni provided a hassle-free full day boat rental service, complete with transportation to and from the hotel. The boat itself was highly efficient, clean, and reasonably priced in comparison to other similar experiences elsewhere. Their professionalism was evident throughout the entire process.
Great experience! We really enjoyed riding the jet skis — everything was smooth and fun. The staff is professional, helpful, and very friendly. Highly recommend this rental service!

We rented a jet ski here spontaneously without a reservation and only had to wait about five minutes for the owner to arrive. The process was very straightforward: I showed my license, we got the jet ski, and we could leave our belongings on his boat. We went out for an hour for €140, which was fun and worked out well at first. When we came back, a staff member got on our jet ski to bring us back to shore. Without any warning or explanation, he suddenly accelerated and made a sharp turn. The jet ski tipped over and we all fell into the water with our valuables. My girlfriend was holding her phone, car key, sunglasses, and clothes – everything got wet. Luckily, nothing was permanently damaged, but it easily could have been. What we really missed was a proper apology or at least an explanation for what happened. For us as young and easy-going guests, it was frustrating but still manageable. However, if this had happened to families, older guests, or people carrying more sensitive items, it could have been much worse. Because of this incident, I can only give 3 out of 5 stars

Had an incredible experience on the jet skis with Jet Ski Rent Taormina Letojanni. First of all super friendly, flexible service. We were allowed to go off on our own and explore the ocean. 10/10. We drove an hour and a half for this experience and it most certainly was worth it!

!!DO NOT USE JET SKI RENT TAORMINA LETOJANNI!! I rented a boat for 7 people 1 month in advance to our selected departure date for a full days rental via SamBoat (think of it as the AirBnB for boat rental). Upon getting in contact with Gabriele I was told to meet him at Sun Beach Club Taormina in order to collect the boat. After driving 45 minutes to the location we were greeted by two bar staff that said to wait for the boss (Gabriele) while he fetches the boat. I then receive a call from Gabriele saying that he has not been paid for the boat however we had paid SamBoat prior to this - we have receipts and the money had been taken from my bank account. Gabriele told me to call SamBoat and cancel the reservation as he had not been paid by them and to pay him via bank transfer directly - this would mean that we would get a €0 refund due to SamBoat's refund policy, and would have to pay Gabriele again the full amount to rent the boat directly. This is also against SamBoat's terms and conditions and were informed to contact them if this happens. If Gabriele/the company did not get paid by SamBoat this is a conflict of interest with them and, as we had already paid, was not a problem for the customer. If there was prior communication regarding the matter then there wouldn't have been any issues however the issues had only begun when we had already arrived at the location to collect the boat and felt as though we were being scammed. I would not recommend using this company due to their customer service. I am unsure if this is a genuine mistake with SamBoat or if the company tried to scam us in order to make us pay twice. The reason I say this is because SamBoat contacted me to say the user has now been banned from their platform. Edit regarding owner's response: the platform used to purchase the boat rental was via SamBoat and is absolutely for your company due to the name (Gabriele) and location being the same. You are not SamBoat but your boats were on there alongside the Facebook and Instagram accounts that you linked to. You are pretending to not know what SamBoat is despite confirming it during a phone call. Scam. Avoid at all costs.
