Italian restaurant
Ristorante Crotto dei Platani offers a high-end dining experience in a picturesque lakeside setting with various verandas, garden tables, and a private dock. The restaurant stands out for its departure from traditional Italian dishes, offering unexpected flavor combinations inspired by local ingredients. Its location in Argegno provides stunning views of Lake Como and features unique environments such as the pier, veranda, and garden.
Beautiful views, delicious food, exceptional service. Our group tried various dishes. Each one had so much flavor & with incredible detail.

I had the steak with truffle mushrooms - cooked medium, but it turned out a bit dry. Just okay. I’d rate it 6,5/10. My wife had the beef cheeks - lots of fat, not really enjoyable. 6/10. They charge for service, bread, and water (and the waiter’s smile felt like something from the 15th century crooked teeth and cavities included). That didn’t help the atmosphere. The view is truly stunning, no doubt. But with a small starter, a bottle of cheaper wine, two dishes and bread - I would’ve been happy to pay around 70€, not 113€. At that price, you start expecting fine dining, not average food. Final verdict: 3/5. Beautiful view, average food. Not quite worth it.
Gleb R — Google review
The atmosphere was rigid right from the start. We were taken to the terrace, which was completely empty, and placed in a corner. The waiters’ attitude was indifferent and rather phlegmatic. We had already had dinner at another restaurant, as we wanted to try as many places as possible during our two days here. So we only ordered dessert, which was good, but nothing extraordinary. When making the reservation, I specifically asked to sit downstairs on the terrace, which was half empty at the time, but this request was denied. All in all: • Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ • Staff attitude: ⭐ • Table/location: ⭐ • Value for money: ⭐ This brings the overall experience to 2 stars. NB: There are plenty of places in the area with a much nicer view, equally good (or even better) food, fair prices, and warm service. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.
Mădălina M — Google review
We stumbled upon this restaurant as we were driving along Lake Como. We only had a couple of appetizers and a small bottle of wine because the kitchen was going to be closing for them to get ready for dinner, so we didn't have a larger entre. However, the appetizers and the dessert we had, were absolutely delicious and we wish we could have ordered a full meal. If you have a chance to dine here, take the opportunity to do so. You won't be disappointed.
Gary C — Google review
Took my parents and my girlfriend for a lovely dusk dinner. Cant fault the views: it’s nestled in a little depression beside the Via Statale, totally on its own there, has its own pier (we chose to take a boat to the restaurant), as do most other guests, and has broad views looking north up Como. Pretty staggering. The service (Marko) was exceptional - thoughtful, friendly and attentive without being overbearing (and just enough flirting with my mum…). The food was good, local, game and lake-fish heavy - but the only area they fell at all short. My mushroom tart was pretty soft and squishy (technical terms), and the tagliata di manzo was a little tough. The pasta (we had the crab ragú and duck papardelle) was absolutely delicious, however.
Julian B — Google review
We sat by the water on the terrace and ordered the white fish tartare, fois gras, porcini baked potato with cheese fondue for starters. For the main course, we had the balsamic glazed fish and ravioli. For dessert, the crème brûlée, blackcurrant cheesecake and apple crumble. The food was exquisite and the view of the lake and mountains felt like a perfect escape. The waiters were knowledgeable and helpful. I recommend this place. Thank you!
Nariman A — Google review
We had a fantastic dinner at Crotto Dei Platini for our 1 year wedding anniversary! The view and the food is spectacular. We had the White Fish Tartare with Black Truffle, the Rich Fresh Egg Pasta with Acid Butter and Umbria’s Black Truffle, the Roasted Lamb Rack, and the Warm Chocolate Cake (pictures below). All 4 courses were absolutely delicious. So good that we savored every single bite. I will be dreaming about this meal and the views for the rest of my life. I highly recommend eating here! Also, if you’re staying in Bellagio like we did, highly recommend having Bellagio Charter take you to and from dinner. Truly the best experience!

Hotel Ristorante La Darsena is a charming lakefront boutique hotel located on the picturesque shores of Lake Como in Tremezzo. The hotel offers comfortable and colorful rooms with wooden floors, featuring amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and minibars. Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast and access to free Wi-Fi during their stay.
We loved our stay at La Darsena! The hotel has a charming, homey vibe—being family-owned really adds a special touch. The restaurant is fantastic (don’t miss dinner there!), and their breakfast buffet was a daily highlight. The location is super convenient—right near the ferry stop and bus stop, which made exploring Lake Como so easy. We highly recommend taking a day trip by ferry to Varenna and then Bellagio—it was one of our favorite experiences. Thank you to the team at La Darsena for such a memorable stay!
Lindsay I — Google review
The dinner we had here was of the worst price-quality ratio we’ve experienced in the whole region. The dishes did not fit the description on the menu (fish tartare turned out as a plain boiled fish burger) + whatever we got served was of poor quality (scallops were way overcooked, sauces were plain and the fish was dry). You can have better food at the local bars. The staff was not hospitable either, only the view is nice.
Kaat M — Google review
Lovely people working here- we were stuck due to road closures and stopped in to grab breakfast and try to figure out how to catch our flight. The wonderful hostess was able to find a taxi service who would be able to take us. The breakfast was also a good deal with a beautiful view.

We loved our stay at La Darsena! It’s charming and cozy with beautiful views of Lake Como. The staff welcomed us with the hospitality you would expect at a 5-star hotel. One waitress, Isabella, remembered our coffee and breakfast orders every morning! We would highly recommend staying here!

We are just here in the restaurant but it is amazing. Not just the people, who work here are nice, open and funny but the guests as well. Really giving a feeling of italian hospitality. We love it🩷 thank you!

Beautiful hotel and restaurant where I ate at for dinner. They were able to serve me right away and right on the water with a Lake View! It was so lovely and I also got a good glass of red wine. Food was great and the wine was superb!

Great find! We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and loved everything about it: amazing views, tasty food (don’t miss the chef“s modern take on tiramisù!) and friendly service! Highly recommended!

Ristorante Alle Darsene di Loppia is an elegant dining spot in the historic center of Bellagio, adjacent to the Villa Melzi d'Eril botanical gardens. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests can savor seasonal menus featuring high-quality ingredients. During summer, diners can enjoy al fresco dining under a pergola by the Loppia harbor.
Was recommended this quaint spot by our private boat driver on our trip to Lake Como, and boy were we glad! We dined outside alongside just a few other tables, fully booked but the perfect size for a romantic date. Every dish was phenomenal, as well as the wine. We especially loved the Lemon Caviar Pasta and Frozen Egg Nog dessert. Definitely recommend this hidden gem. I tell all my friends who plan on visiting beautiful Bellagio!

Enjoyed our dinner here! Food was great and service was outstanding! Great selection of wine as well. Note there’s a very limited menu this season as they recently changed their business model to focus on lunch hours and it’s offered all from 11am until they close at 7pm. The more extensive menu for dinner that you see on other reviews is no longer offered which we weren’t aware of until we arrived.
Ryan B — Google review
The service was great and the food awesome. Had the specials: Amberjack tartare, black truffle pasta, and fried pork chop. All very good. Ordered a second order of pasta shamelessly. Did the tiramisu and wine takeaway. Our server Giovanni was amazing. Gave us some historical information around the area. And the location is perfect next to the gardens and water.
Kelsey C — Google review
After a walk through Villa Melzi, we came across this restaurant for lunch. The service was outstanding, since we wanted to share a main dish, they thoughtfully split it onto two plates. We ordered the veal with tuna sauce, steak tartare with burrata, and pomodoro pasta. Everything was delicious and made with high-quality ingredients. Our favorite was the steak tartare, the combination with the burrata was perfect.
Lynn R — Google review
We had our first lunch in Bellagio at Darsene di Loppia. We enjoyed a warm welcome; they took care of our luggage upon arrival and let us choose the table we wanted (we took one with a lovely view of the street and the lake). The service has been excellent. We had several waiters who made sure we had everything we needed, and they were all very smiling and sympathetic. The food was great; we shared an octopus as the starter and took the fish (a perfectly cooked hake) and the lamb (that tasted wonderful) as main courses. We succumbed to a delicious tiramisu for the desert. Everything went very well, and we're looking forward to coming visit again :)
Amesys — Google review
The comments about the owner are fair, although she is very professional and nice at times. The reason I stayed after an initial incident was because of the extremely professional older gentleman waiting our table. And we came back for the food as well as his service. Food is very fresh, I recommend the off-menu items as well as the cheese selection.
Joshua S — Google review
We had a really wonderful afternoon enjoying our meal and sipping our wine. The staff really looked after us and were extremely attentive. The food was exceptional and the restaurant is away from the very busy Bellagio centre which meant we had a very chilled experience. Would highly recommend!

Located in Sala Comacina, Locanda La Tirlindana offers a simple yet intimate dining experience with a lakeside terrace. The menu, curated by Chef Patricia, features creative dishes such as black risotto with squid and lemon ravioli.
Lovely restaurant with very lovely and accommodating staff! We arrived upon opening time with no reservation and they were so lovely to fit us in. I don’t eat much so my husband and I usually order a meal to share and they so graciously split the meal onto two plates which has never happened to us before! It was so delicious we ordered the lemon pasta and the sorbet for dessert. We had such a lovely view as well! Great experience!
Jess P — Google review
Wonderful location and excellent food. The lemon ravioli lived up to the hype, and the sorbet might be one of the best I’ve ever had. Very friendly and professional service. Absolutely worth the price!
Kadri L — Google review
Was our first stop in Como: very nice quite location right near the lake Food is amazing, service is amazing too. We said that we want to share and they brought all dishes in different place for us. We tried steak, ravioli with lemon, shrimps and deserts - all was delicious, recommend. And also nice thing - how we got here. We stopped car at the Main Street and then one guy on bike was guiding us through tiny streets
Елизавета С — Google review
One of my favorite spots on earth. Cannot recommend enough. Get the lemon ravioli! Non-negotiable. Then enjoy the trout and any of the other wonderful dishes but get the ravioli. The sample dessert is perfect as well. A taste of so many goodies. Wonderful view, perfect atmosphere, impeccable service, and the ravioli. Oh my goodness. Until we meet again…

Bucket‑list checked, five‑star magic. Seated lakeside in a gentle, warm rain, every moment felt cinematic. We savored impeccable sea bass in citrus‑kissed sauce, melt‑in‑your‑mouth lamb chops with mint, and the refreshing, subtle presence of gin. The service was attentive yet relaxed, letting us linger over each exquisite dish. Words fail me. I’ve never experienced something so harmonious, so lovingly crafted. This isn’t just dining; it’s an emotion. Thank you for an evening that transformed a birthday into a memory for the ages.

Great food, service, and view. Perfect for a date night - especially right before sunset. It’s tucked away so it feels private, romantic, and away from all the noise. The standout was the Beet Burrata cheese.

We had an excellent experience at this restaurant. We went the day before to put a reservation in (you cannot walk in - you must have a reservation). Being right on the water is a great way to spend dinner. It was peaceful and a beautiful setting. The food was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed every bite. Definitely recommend getting to the restaurant if you are in Sala Comacina.

We were fortunate to grab a table here for 2025 Sagra di San Giovanni, the most renowned fireworks show on Lake Como. I could not imagine a more spectacular evening. The restaurant is amazing, delicious seafood, homemade ravioli, steaks, and dessert. Every night is 5 stars.

Located at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo in the picturesque lakeside town of Tremezzina, Ristorante La Terrazza Gualtiero Marchesi pays homage to the late renowned chef Gualtiero Marchesi. Known as the "founder of modern Italian cuisine," Marchesi's legacy is honored through an exceptional dining experience at this top-tier restaurant.
Wonderful culinary experience, we tried several plates from the tasting menu. Service was great and attentive to details, the location is wonderful with a view on the lake, the food was yummy from starter till dessert. Denny and Jogo are super friendly.
Daniele F — Google review
Views are great, especially if you’re seated closest to the windows overlooking the lake. Service was so slow and food was not worth it. Food lacked flavor. Our steak was supposed to be crusted but ended up with a green veggie mush on top. We were recommended this place by our hotel concierge and was highly disappointed.
Nikita G — Google review
Big expectations, big disappointment! Beautiful views and exquisite food, but we were disappointed with the service overall. This was supposed to be a memorable night celebrating our 17th anniversary, but it turned out not special because of the poor and snobby service. The hostes couldn’t find our reservation and had an attitude about it, like if we were lying. Not friendly, not welcoming at all! The sommelier didn’t offer any suggestions on wine and when we told him what we had chosen he was very rude grabbing the menu from my husband’s hand and just walking away like if we had offended him. He apologized later after we complained he gave us a glass of champagne, but still with the same bad attitude, not sincere. Our waiter Diogo was very nice and attentive, I think the manager should hire him to train others. I would say the whole experience felt too touristy and not personal. I would go back for drinks at the hotel bar with the same views, not to La Terazza. The hotel is beautiful with the most beautiful gardens!
Elaine L — Google review
This was my first time dining at La Terrazza Gualtiero Marchesi at the Tremezzo 5 star hotel by Lake Como. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is beautifully and luxuriously decorated, and the restaurant itself is equally impressive in terms of layout and design, making you feel special from the very first step (congratulations for the candles at the entrance). We were 4 and ordered the 5-course tasting menu, and every dish was excellent, especially: • Astice alla crema di peperoni (1978) The lobster was perfectly sweet and tender, paired with a smooth sweet pepper sauce. The flavors were perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. • Riso, oro e zafferano (1981) The staff explained the story behind this dish wonderfully, helping me appreciate its uniqueness. The saffron risotto with gold flakes was delicate, and every bite was a true feast for both the eyes and the palate. The other courses were equally delightful, the seabass more than the veal. In addition to the food, I also had the opportunity to visit the kitchen, which was spectacular and very clean. The executive chef greeted me warmly, making me feel welcomed and giving insight into the professional kitchen management. Other highlights: • Some staff were cheerful, friendly, and provided excellent guidance about the dishes and wine pairings, making the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. • The plating and wine pairings were well thought out, enhancing the flavors of the dishes. Areas for improvement: • Some team members seemed unenthusiastic, which slightly affected the overall dining experience. • The bread served was somewhat stale, as if it had been stored for a while, and lacked freshness. - The dessert, Millefoglie, was good to see but really nothing special, not the grand final that you expect from such a unique (and expensive!) restaurant! Overall, this was a highly impressive experience in terms of food, decor, and atmosphere, though there are many points that in my opinion should be improved, to fully satisfy the expectations of a particularly attentive client, like my husband and I.
WARAYA S — Google review
The views and ambiance are absolutely dreamy but what lacked was the food + service. The food lacked flavor - it felt like something was almost forgotten in the dishes we had. And the service was slow and felt disinterested in helping ensure our experience was pleasant. It also felt like the staff was annoyed we did not order the tasting menu. The sommelier also seemed annoyed we did not order a bottle and instead ordered a 40 EUR glass of wine (each) - lol. Also did not give any explanation of the wine we were drinking, the vineyard etc. For the price you pay to dine here, do not recommend it. On Instagram: @lexandthecity____ (4 underscores)
Lexi H — Google review
Nice atmosphere and views for dinner, but otherwise the whole experience is outdated and gimmicky - like fine dining in the 90s. The food itself was not remarkable, very hit or miss. Not entirely bad but we expected more given Gualtiero Marchesi’s legendary reputation. Several dishes were bland and lacked any depth of flavour, and some served lukewarm. If this were in any other location than Grand Hotel Tremezzo, there would be no appeal. Go for the setting more than the food, and only if you can get a table on the edge.
M — Google review
We visited this place this summer and left quite disappointed. It had been highly recommended, so my expectations were very high. Unfortunately, the only friendly person we encountered was the hostess – and that was it. It took a very long time before a waiter came to our table, and when I mentioned that I was hungry and asked if I could finally get a menu, the head waiter replied that he was very hungry too and walked away. Such a “joke” was absolutely inappropriate for a restaurant of this level. The service overall was unpleasant, and it felt like we were being treated differently compared to other tables. With the tables where ladies were accompanied by men, the staff seemed warm and welcoming, but with my friend and me the attitude was completely different. The food itself was not particularly tasty, and I didn’t enjoy it. My mood had already been spoiled by the poor hospitality. Of course, the atmosphere and the views were beautiful – that was the only thing that saved the evening. It would be wonderful if the staff could treat all guests with the same friendliness and smiles, whether they spend €1,000 or €250.
Kateryna G — Google review
First an foremost, a big thank you for accommodating us in the room, because my wife was ill and not in anyways able to get ready for a nice restaurant like this. We had every course delivered to our room in outstanding quality; the caviar spaghetti are a most as well as the lobster macaroni. The two filets (veal and beef) were good as well. The tiramisu was great: not to sweet but full of flavour. As a wine enthusiast I also appreciate the wines by the glass (as I was the only drinker), with lynch moussas 2010 and a lovely puligny montrachet i didnt miss out on anything!

Lido di Lenno is a charming beach club and restaurant located in the picturesque gulf of Venus on Lake Como. The beach club offers a relaxing atmosphere with sunbathing, pool lounging, and a terrace for enjoying northern Italian cuisine paired with fine wines. Additionally, it provides catering services for special events and a taxi boat service for private trips to nearby attractions like Villa del Balbianello or the village of Lenno.
Lenno is a great place and typical Italian town with a wonderful sightseeing of the gorgeous Como lake. You’ll enjoy the charm of the famous trattoria and its gelati. Impossible to not experience this place in Italy.

The service and atmosphere are top tier. We didn’t dine inside the restaurant so I can’t speak for it - we got a double beach bed which came with lunch and a dessert. Our waitron was super, ironically we’d met him earlier in the day on our boat trip to the villa. There are steps going down to the water which is wonderfully refreshing. I’d recommend this spot to anyone in the area. It can’t be beat.

Lido di Lenno was one of the best days during my trip to Lake Como! Not only is it an incredible beach location that has a magnificent view of the lake, but the hospitality was some of the best I've received. I hosted my engagement lunch here and the manager worked with me for almost 4 months to make sure everything was perfect. He created an entire menu for a group of 20 people, along with reserving a private area for us. All of it was what exactly what I imagined it would be! The staff was very professional and provided incredible service. The food was amazing as well as the drinks. Enjoying everything on the beach and overlooking the lake was a core memory that I will never forget. If you have time in Lenno, definitely check out this place because you will love it.

Ristorante Rifugio Martina is a charming mountainside locale above Lezzeno, offering stunning views of Lake Como. This veteran restaurant has been a favorite among locals for almost a century, serving up an array of polenta dishes that are sure to satisfy any appetite. Located just an hour away from the summit of Monte San Primo, it's the perfect spot to relax and refuel during a trek.
Incredible! Way way way off the beaten path, there is really no experience quite this immersive when it comes to Lombardian cuisine. I’m convinced that the Refugio is actually a Nonna’s house, and all of the shockingly simple yet perfectly satisfying polenta meals are from her and her family. The variety of polenta with astonishingly fresh meat is the perfect comfort food after a long cool day on the lake. I imagine in autumn and in winter this place even exceeds this glowing review with its picture backdrop of the southern Alps and a clear shot of the entire North Lake. Unbelievable and one of a kind; I cannot wait to go back!
Dominic A — Google review
Ristorante Refugio Martina is definitely one of the most unique places I have ever been to (in a good way)! The walk is definitely the hardest part, as you are prompted to walk 1 kilometer uphill, no easy task even if you pride in your stamina. However, the food is amazing! This place is known for its delicious polenta options, and we really enjoyed having this classic Italian dish. The service is amazing and they’re very nice and friendly. We were surrounded by locals all who were also welcoming. Finally, the view is simply stunning! We got to watch the sunset and it felt that the hike was really worth it! Overall, if you are able to make the difficult hike, you should definitely come here! Also for any disabled/aged people, they do provide a service to take you up there, but I personally don’t know how.
Sreyash H — Google review
The view is truly breathtaking and definitely the highlight of the place. The venue itself is fairly average, with no particularly distinctive features. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of vegan options—there were only a couple of vegetarian dishes on the whole menu, and nothing for vegans. Also, the Sunday crowd was quite large, making the atmosphere rather chaotic.
Antonello V — Google review
Very nice place with typical foods and stunning view of Como lake. It is a must stop when you are climbing to Monte San Primo. Service very fast, friendly staff. Strongly suggest to book a table, especially during the summer season and weekends! For the trekking lovers: this place is located 1H far from Monte San Primo top.

Very tasty food. If you could hike for 30 minutes to the top, this restaurant will make you feel worthy.

We went to celebrate a birthday. The place is so beautiful and the panaorama is amazing. Unfortunately the food is not the best we were expecting. It’s ok but in that kind of places you really expect something more. Thay are very strict about the timing, we eat in about one hour so obviously the food is already precooked and it came to table not very warm.

Super nice people and great Polenta! The view is also great and it is a nice stop on the way. We noticed only one woman talked English so you may need to wait a bit longer (not a big deal at all)

Nestled in the picturesque hills above Tremezzo, Al Veluu Ristorante Suites offers a timeless dining experience with breathtaking views from its refined terrace. This family-run establishment has been serving authentic Italian cuisine for generations, emphasizing quality and tradition. The menu highlights locally sourced ingredients, including fresh fish from the lake, prepared using time-honored culinary techniques.
My husband and I visited this place after hearing mixed reviews — some called it a “tourist trap,” but we decided to see for ourselves. We’re so glad we did. The view was absolutely breathtaking — truly the kind of scenery you never forget. The service exceeded our expectations. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming (especially Marlene, an amazingly sweet waitress). A special touch: the chef himself came to our table to chat, which made the experience even more memorable. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but you’re paying for more than just a meal — you’re paying for the exceptional service and that unforgettable view. We left feeling it was worth it.

This place was recommended to us for dinner.. I was on the fence because of the reviews… but best and most memorable meal of the trip! We had a reservation and were told to go for the views!! When we got there we noticed the outside was closed because it would be raining later that night. I was afraid eating wouldn’t be worth it if we had to eat inside. But not at all! We had a great meal! We were able to take a couple of pictures outside before it started to rain. The man that takes the orders is very dry (it didn’t bother us but some reviews say he is wasn’t that nice). It was a pricier meal. We spent $425 for 4 people but also had 3 bottles of wine. Couldn’t recommend this place more if you are looking for a nice restaurant! We rented a car so we just drove up and parked.

A definite highlight of our trip to Lake Como. The view is spectacular, even at night! We're a younger American couple and we were treated very kindly by all the staff, so I was surprised to see other reviews stating differently. Marlene, our server, was especially charming and made the evening fun! Our meal was delicious from the beginning with the olive tapenade and the goat cheese+veg app. If you go, absolutely get the tiramasu for dessert - the best I've ever had! We hadn't planned to stop here, but walking in the area is difficult (get a taxi, it's worth it), and in the end I'm so glad we did!
Thomas H — Google review
This place is a total ripoff. The food is only just basic and way over-priced. Staff is kind only if you're willing to throw away your money. Yes, the view is breathtaking, but it will be interrupted by repeated performances of the owner parading among the tables, as if Joël Robuchon, fresh out of labor, having just given birth to the fried zucchini.

Al Veluu came as a highly recommended restaurant and it was such a disappointment. My bf and I came here for our first night of vacation dinner, it’s important to note, we’re 26. When we first arrived the server gave us our menus and quickly took our orders, I found it strange that they didn’t offer specials with such a limited menu, but no big deal. We ordered filet for dinner for 2, “cooked table-side” (according to the menu) for $100. The waiter told us we “probably wouldn’t like the mustard sauce” and offered us a red wine sauce instead, great, so we thought. About 20 minutes after we were sat another older American couple (probably late 40s) was sat next to us and we overheard the waiter listing a round of specials. Initially just disappointed we didn’t hear them, we assumed the server forgot (happens!). They also ordered the steak dinner for two. When our steaks came out, i was surprised they weren’t cooked tableside as the menu said, but they were decent and we were modestly happy with them. However, when the older American couples steaks began to be actually cooked table side, we were VERY confused. For one, why were theirs cooked table side and ours weren’t? And then we saw their steaks. The size and quality difference in the cuts of meat we were offered was night and day. While we were served small/thinner (6oz) serlions, they were served HUGE thick filets. At this point we were SO CONFUSED and should have said something but we had finished our meal, been there for 2 hours and wanted dessert and to leave. The tiramisu was fantastic. Finally, they offered to call us a cab which we accepted, except we wouldn’t have if we knew it would take over an hour to arrive and we watched 4 other tables get priority and their cabs were called after ours, picked them up first. Again, could have been down to situation except we were all staying in the same hotel .5 a mile away. My bf and I felt like the staff saw a young couple and assumed we either didn’t have money or didn’t know what to expect of a high class restaurant experience. Either way - it was clear our experience was incredibly different from those around us.

My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary having dinner. The restaurant has an amazing view and ambience. We order the zucchini appetizer with roasted goat cheese and tomatoes. For our entrees she ordered the penne pasta and pancetta (which was very good) and I got the thin sirloin which was stuffed with mozzarella and grilled with herbs. (Don’t get me wrong, it was very good, but I wish I had ordered the veal chop). We enjoyed the house red wine and a cappuccino. We were too full for a dessert, but they looked delicious.
Donald D — Google review
Had one of the worst meals here. An absolute tourist trap with mediocre food. The zucchiniflower was overly battered, ok in taste. My pasta was on the al-dente side but somehow watery in taste. The service was ok, but somehow intrusive and did not make you feel like a guest, but like a product. Italian restaurants have usually a great value to money ratio, this place does not offer this. We paid more than 130 euro for one starter, and two main dishes (incl. one glass of red wine and some water). I will never come back.... although the view is nice...but do yourself a favor, buy some local wine and just park next to it on the hill and enjoy the view.
Thomas M — Google review
Stunning views and even better food. Al veluu was perfection for our Rehersal dinner and we had some of the best food of the entire weekend here with our friends and family who are still in awe. Do not miss the stuffed zucchini flowers, fresh peach Bellini, pasta portofino and the stuffed beef skewers with mozerella! Luca was amazing and made the night impeccable

Such a fantastic place with the friendliest staff. We rented a boat to tour the lake and docked for free at the island. The view and atmosphere are very hard to beat, and the food was delicious and refreshing. Give yourself a couple hours at least to have a proper time of your meal.

La Fagurida is a family-run Italian restaurant located on the lakes western shore in Tremezzo. The rustic atmosphere and locally sourced food make it a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. During the colder months, expect roast rabbit with rosemary and polenta, while in summer dishes featuring lake fish are popular. Reservations are recommended, but seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. Alcohol is served here, as well as credit cards and table service.
The view from the restaurant is beautiful. Friendly and attentive staff. We had some delicious starters of buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto and bruschetta. The steak here is a must! All the food is excellently prepared.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Gorgeous views, wonderful food, and warm service. Everything we had was spectacular - the bruschetta might be our favorite dish of Italy, second only to the delicious tiramisu for dessert. Would recommend to anyone going to Tremezzo - thank you!!

La Fagurida was hands down the best restaurant we visited in Tremezzo. The food was absolutely amazing—authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The warm, rustic atmosphere paired with stunning lake views made the experience unforgettable. It was the perfect setting for a relaxed yet special evening, and truly the highlight of our trip to Lake Como. A must-visit!
Jessica O — Google review
The view from this restaurant is truly spectacular. It is quite mesmerising to look down on lake como surrounded by these rolling hills and seeing how beautifully every building has been built on such steep slopes. Our waitor was fantastic too. He was very helpful in explaining the menu to us and even teaching us some Italian! Unfortunately we were left a little disappointed with the food, especially since we had read such great reviews online about this place. We came here in September, the perfect time for Italian tomatoes but felt that both our caprese salad and out bruscetta could have done with some better tomatoes. The mozzarella was delicious! My rabbit ragu was quite dry. I understand that this is the texture of rabbit since it is quite a lean meat, however, this specific pasta was particularly lacking in my opinion. The fish was delicious too but we felt that the salad could have done with a little more dressing. The grilled vegetables were great. We also enjoyed our Tiramisu
G. L — Google review
Ristorante La Fagurida is an absolute gem perched above Lake Como- rustic, warm, and full of character. As soon as you sit down (especially if you get a terrace table), the view of the lake and hills sets the tone for a truly memorable meal! We tried the roasted rabbit with polenta, and it was outstanding. The rabbit was tender, perfectly seasoned, with a subtle aroma of herbs and grill, while the polenta beside it was creamy, rich, comforting, just what you want to soak up all the flavors! Everything felt homemade: the starters, the fresh antipasti... The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience feel personal, not just another dinner out. If you’re anywhere near Tremezzo, this is one of those places you shouldn’t miss La Fagurida delivers both heart and taste!

Local kitchen heaven! If you want to eat where the locals do, then book early and enjoy the best Italian cooking. Make the effort, it’s worth it and eat the specials. If you’re here for porcini season, then you’re in for a treat. And the rabbit is to die for. This is what Italian food is all about. Enjoy!

An amazing restaurant with great service and food!! I don’t usually leave reviews but this place deserves it. The service was fantastic, all staff were smiling, competent and efficient. The food was some of the best we had in italy. The fish antipasto, ravioli and rib steak and tiramisu were stand outs. The wine was also high quality. The view and dining room is beautiful! Decent restaurant. The food was tasty, but the prices are above average. We had to wait quite a while for our order. It was also very noisy and hot on the terrace — the windows were closed, which didn’t help. However, the interior inside the hotel is beautifully designed and adds a touch of elegance to the experience.

We stopped here in a boat excursion around Como. So glad we did. Perfect food, simple but perfect. We had brown butter fish/salsa verde fish with roasted vegetables. Wow! What a find. So reasonable for such a gorgeous hotel. Clean rooms, lovely staff and amazing location on the lake. We came for my husband’s birthday and they put lots of special touches on for us. You can swim off the little jetty (it is choppy!) which was such a highlight for us. The restaurant food was nice (agree the risotto is great!) and the view just perfect. A truly unforgettable stay.

Good place to stay around lake Como. Spend two nights at Villa Belvedere as part of a vacation and had very good experience. The Hotel is located right on the edge of lake Como and therefore the view from your window is majestic. Here are a few pros and cons of the hotel. Pros: -> Great Views -> Friendly Staff -> Private Parking - make sure to reserve it before hand since there are limited spots. -> Private Beach - a beach is a strong word, but there is an area with a couple of lounges that allows for swimming in the lake Cons: -> Old Building - The building is old and there is some wear and tear. Nevertheless, the hotel was still clean. -> Restaurant - The restaurant is the only reason I am giving 4 stars. More of a tourist trap than an actual Italian restaurant with artificially inflated prices.
Angel M — Google review
Had a phenomenal 4 night experience at Hotel Belvedere, specifically because of our concierge Katia. She truly went out of her way to make our trip wonderful by helping us coordinate transportation each day for our day trips to different cities including where to find parking and great restaurants. She was very kind and patient with us and went out of her way to print us maps and directions to accommodate many of our specific requests. We are just about to finish our 3 weeks vacation and I have to say that our experience here was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We will 100% be coming back to Lake Como in the future and will definitely be staying at Hotel Belvedere.

Really great hotel!!! Absolutely stunning view. Parking for your exotic car. Price is really a good value for the location, service and amenities. Really good breakfast with bonus best cappuccino we had in the region. Also nice selection of beers and wines. Restaurant is really good and refined. Hint, there is a hidden lounge area with a swim in the lake pontoon we found too late. Really nice service. Restaurant is really good and there's a nearby gem of restaurant too (not many though). But the walk in the nearest town is full of surprises and cozy little streets and shops. The cons: the rooms were nice but not sound proof and the place can be loud when you want a nap in the afternoon. One of the bathrooms we had was really tight and closet like. However that room was really nicely decorated including the walls, roof and corners of the room with a superb view of the lake. Tip: try to get the room next door with the balcony!
Xavier B — Google review
Rooms are old, ceilings stained, phone doesn't work, bathroom is tiny and has a musty odor. They give one pillow per person. Beds are very low, hard to get up from. No tissues. Went to the room at check in and it was hot. There's a mini split but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. Asked at front desk, they've been turned off. I asked for a fan, they've been stored away. I asked for a 2nd key, nope. The food was only ok. People at the next table over said tge same. One pasta plate was undercooked. One had barely any filling in the ravioli. The steak was under cooked. None of the staff were not friendly.
Flippin B — Google review
The views are absolutely stunning. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Bed was amazing. WiFi was very weak the entire time. Vents are filthy and the faucets could use new washers. Parking on site is tight but that’s expected. Music was always good. Solid places to eat across the street.

If I could, I would give ten stars! 🌟 This place is a true haven of peace and tranquility – every moment was uplifting. Although there is a transfer available to the top of the hill, we chose to hike up, and it was absolutely worth it – the view and the nature were breathtaking every step of the way. The surroundings are simply magical, and the people are incredibly kind and attentive. What made it even more special is that about 90% of what is served is produced and prepared by them – a rare and fantastic experience. We spent the first part of our honeymoon here, and we can truly say it was one of the best memories of our lives. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️

Very peaceful place. We had lunch here as recommended by our B&B. We parked at the nearest parking place because our car is not equipped to go up. Then it was a 35min walk, quite steep. Arrived sweaty and exhausted but very worth it :). They view is amazing. Food was high quality and from the farm. Also very good wine menu. You can even buy a bottle. Also, the service was great.

We stayed for 1 night for the birthday of my husband, and had both lunch and dinner there. What can I say, if I could I would put 6 stars! Especially for the food. You can really see and taste their passion for what they do. It’s a great mixture of refined and rustic. Giacomo’s salumi are special and we tried all of them - highly recommended. The cheeses are also lovely. Everything served at the farm is produced by them. The Maialetto cooked the Sardinian way on the spit was the highlight, make sure to try it! The baby goat was a delight too. The selection of wines is good, the beer is great and you have to try the canapa gin. We really enjoyed our time and hope to be back! Note: the way up from blessagno is rocky and harsh, make sure to book a transfer to the farm.

Beautiful place, and very kindle service, nothing to regret about that... But we waited 4 hours for just five courses each couples (2 starter, 1main course and 2 dessert) , with two children less than 4 years old... really? Food good, but not one the best I ever tried. So sorry for this kind of review, but at the end, after all, I pay more than 90 EU only for me and my daughter. Thinking that this is not my kind of place.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was wonderful (corner terrace suite), and service at the main restaurant and pool restaurant was good. I docked two stars because the service at the lobby outside bar was absolutely horrible. We experienced this two nights in a row, and then did not attempt to go back after that. Also the spa was great in terms of facilities, however we were not offered towels, robes, or a locker which we felt was very odd. Unfortunately overall the service was a miss for us. Everything came together perfectly — from the ambiance to the culinary experience — making this restaurant a place we would gladly return to and highly recommend

Antica Trattoria del Risorgimento is a hidden gem located in the peaceful village of Mezzegra near Lake Como. The family-run trattoria offers a cozy atmosphere with wood-beamed rooms and a grand fireplace, providing an intimate dining experience. The restaurant takes pride in using fresh, local ingredients to create seasonal menus featuring regional specialties such as lake fish and roast suckling pig.
Loved eating here. Felt like a very authentic Italian eating experience. Fresh pasta, daily new choices, great food, and there’s two and three course special prices. The risotto was especially delicious. Highly recommend

A hidden gem. We found this place by accident as we were walking from Villa Balbianello. Thank god we did. One of our best eats in Lake Como. Very aunthentic Italian cuisine. Food was great. Staff were excellent. Would highly recommend. Ciao

This was one of the best meals we had at Lake Como. We ordered the blueberry risotto to share as a starter - unique flavor we both enjoyed. Then we had the duck and lamb - great flavor and would go back. They also serve several types of bread with amazing olive oil to start. Friendly service as well.

Amazing food. Typical of the area. We were very happy to have booked in this restaurant. There were also options for kids. We had a great time. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great. We hope we will go again someday.

We went here for dinner our last night in the area and were very impressed! The staff, atmosphere, and food were all great. The restaurant had a warm, cozy feel which was the perfect way to end our stay in Azzano. We loved all the food but especially our pastas, tiramisu, and affogato. Highly recommend!

I recently dined in this Italian restaurant around Lake Como area, and I must say it was an superb culinary experience. The food was simply amazing, with every dish bursting with flavors. The fish was very fresh and delicious, and the risotto was a delight. The ambiance was equally delightful, in an almost 600 years old house that added to the overall experience. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, wine selections in their menu complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, this Italian restaurant in Lake Como left a lasting impression with its exceptional food. I highly recommend this place if you are looking something other than pasta and pizza while enjoying the Lake Como area

Incredible food and great service! We came here for lunch at opening time to find room (can be quite busy even for lunch), and had a delicious meal. The waiter was super friendly and helpful with recommendations, pairing the wine/prosecco with the food we ordered. And everything, especially the complimentary homemade bread with olive oil was delicious! Even the desserts were special, we had a drowned rum and espresso in ice cream. Highly recommend this place :)

Trattoria Rana is a down home cooking restaurant that serves delicious Italian food at reasonable prices. The portions are just right, and the welcoming staff make it a delightful experience. I plan to return soon!
We almost did not come here because of some of the bad reviews we read online. It would have been a huge mistake. Disregard everything you read about the "not 5 star" reviews. This place is authentic and the food is fantastic. If you are friendly to them, they will be friendly to you. The portions are not huge, but they were more than enough. Everything we had was wonderful, and the service was great.

First visit here for dinner last Saturday, came a little after 6pm, got sat inside without reservations however on weekends they seem to be very busy so reservations are recommended. Best lasagna we've had, portioning was just so, prices were right. Came back with friends for drinks on the terrace few days later. Christina was gracious, attentive and happy to serve us. Will definitely be back a few more times before we leave Tremezzo where we are staying for a month. Lovely area, friendly neighbors, beautiful scenery every where you look. Love Como!

Very good - albeit rustic - food and super nice service! All tables were full but the waiter still treated us incredibly nicely - even changing us to a table with a better view after it emptied. He spoke a little bit of french, german and english and was very friendly and quick. A warning for people without cars though: the restaurant is up on a hill and the climb from tremezzo is no joke.. it was definitely worth it for the amazing view though!!

We loved this dinner! Located at the top of a hill in Tremezzo, we were seated outside overlooking Lake Como, with panoramic views. Spectacular! The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is classic, homemade, beautiful quality and fresh. What a wonderful dinner we enjoyed!

Such a unique find for dinner. Best view in the area! The staff are warm and welcoming to you; they make you feel right at home. If you're wanting a break from pasta and pizza, you've found it. Craving chicken?? you'll find some tasty options here. And I must mention that view again, it's breathtaking. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Absolutely magical experience! The view coupled with simple, but delicious food at a reasonable price made our evening! We had the prosciutto melon and gnocchi. The rock-melon was really sweet and married nicely with the prosciutto. The gnocchi was soft and the flavor was mouth wateringly good! The man who served us was really lovely. He was very patient with us - his English was limited and our Italian not-existent, but we managed to communicate quite well. Highly recommend - we'll be back tomorrow!

This was my wife and I’s favorite restaurant during our visit to Lake Como! I think its a must go. The only con is the road can be loud at times due to people speeding by but still in a beautiful location. The staff was very knowledgable, nice and spoke great English. What does all the talking is the incredible food. Every dish we had was executed very well. We can't stop thinking about the spaghetti with tomatoes and basil, it seems so simple but they let the ingredients sing. The duck was one of the best ducks I have ever had. How they present the dishes is Michelin like. If you are in the area you need to go, you won’t regret it!

We only stopped here for a quick lunch, got pizza and then left but our experience was pleasant. Service was good, food was good, and luckily it was open (apparently it's hard to find open businesses during the middle of the day here in Lake Como). Would recommend.

After trying out hotel tremezzo (because of all the hype) and walking out (tourist trap!) we found this gem. Honestly, one of the best lasagnas I’ve ever had. The house wines were great, the trout was decadent, ambience peaceful, the strudel out of this world, and service was first class. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience in tremezzo.

We did not stay here but had Easter dinner here as a three generational family with two young children and it was truly outstanding. They brought food quickly for the young ones. We had a welcome bubbly pour, followed by poached egg with fondue sauce on fresh spinach and wild hops; then a smoked black cabbage risotto, grilled beef with asparagus and spring onions, finished with a dove shaped crispy semifreddo containing the Easter cake Columba and topped with baked meringue. Impeccable service, fantastic wine pairing, elegant setting, beautiful grounds. Highly recommended!

Beautiful, friendly, accommodating, clean... We couldn't find fault with anything. This hotel was the perfect antidote to spending the day in the busy and hot lakeside villages. Slightly elevated it's a few degrees cooler than lower down. Gardens and ground are magnificent, location quiet and peaceful with great views. Bedrooms are well kept with good quality furniture, comfortable beds, excellent bathrooms, good towels, very nice selection of soaps and toiletries and a minibar with a good choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The staff are EXCELLENT. This is how hotels should be: nothing is a trouble to them, they want to find a solution to any question or concern. In particular Serena and Tomazo were 10/10. In the end we didn't make it to the in house restaurant (though we wanted to) but it's seems like it's it's shooting for a Michelin star. This hotel will be missed!

Cute little restaurant up the hill from the Main Street. Staff was attentive. Food was just okay, nothing significant to highlight. My daughter had a burger and I had ribs with potatoes, and they were just okay. I will say the ribs was nicely cooked as the meat fell off the bone.

We cut our stay at Casa Aquadulza short because of 2 major issues. We had booked 4 nights and left for another hotel after the 1st night. - The toilet in room 2 (with white and dark tiles) has no privacy. There is no door and walls only a curtain. This was unimaginable. Specially that the photos on booking.com did not reflect this fact. - The door of the room cannot be locked from outside. There is a second door which can be locked. But the host asked us not to lock it because the staff need to go to a storage area throughout the day. As you might imagine we didn't feel safe leaving our belongings while not there. Thankfully the host offered after a day of discussions to refund the remainder of our stay. We took it and booked another hotel even though it was more expensive because everything was booked out for the same dates in the middle of the peak season.

Casa Aquadulza is fantastic, we loved every moment here. The rooms are so beautiful and quaint with fabulous views of the lake and surrounding area. We had dinner at the restaurant for two nights, the food and wine was exquisite. The location was perfect, the area was nice and quiet but within easy reach by ferry to the more busy areas such as Bellagio and Varenna. Overall a brilliant stay and Riccardo was the perfect host, thank you 😊

The rooms are very clean and rustic as this is an older, building which has its original turn-of- the century style architecture. The location is excellent!!! We had dinner there this evening...well almost. We waited a full hour for our dinners that never arrived while all those around us were served ahead of us. We missed our boat back to Cernobbio waiting, and had to take a taxi back. So, can't say too much about the food quality except that the salads were delicious! Wish our dinners had made it to our table! Atmosphere (gorgeous view of the lake) was, of course, unbeatable.

Can't speak for the hotel part, but restaurant is a hard pass. Food was ok but for the price, there is a lot better within walking distance. Wait staff dont seem to know what the dishes consist of and the "manager" is downright obnoxious. Do yourself a favour, pick a better restaurant or wait for the inevitable managent change. Al Vecchio Bacucco is a charming restaurant with a stunning view of Lake Como. The portions are generous and the food is flavorful, with standout dishes like the Florentine steak and wild boar. The owner, Daniele, adds to the welcoming atmosphere with his friendly and funny demeanor. While some found the atmosphere lacking, others appreciated the cozy ambiance. The seafood-based appetizers were particularly enjoyable for many diners.
A beautiful spot with an incredible terrace overlooking Lake Como. The meat and fish dishes were fantastic, and the wine complemented everything perfectly. One thing to note is that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, so plan accordingly.

A beautiful gem! They have a stunning terrace overlooking the lake with amazing vistas of the mountains and the water. The staff are very nice and friendly. The menu is great and they have a special meal every day. We had the “land appetizer” and it was delicious and gigantic… we were full after it. But we wanted to have more of this amazing food so we ordered the daily special- bluebe risotto with deer carpaccio. It was delicious! My only regret was that we didn’t have any space left for dessert- next time :)

Some of the best food we’ve had here, with amazing view of the lake! We went up on the terrace which has great views, and everything regarding the food was perfect. The only not so good part was the service: the waiters were not very friendly, and forgot our water too. For the starter, we shared some ragu pasta. It was “wow”, just “wow”. The sauce was sooo good, and the pasta had the perfect texture. We did not realize for the main dish that we got the steak that it was to be cooked by us. It was completely seared but rare on the inside. But this was the best part! It came in a hot clay plate, with some super hot butter, so you cook your sliced beef right the way you wanted it!! And the meat was high quality and tender!.
Adrian Z — Google review
We came here for dinner yesterday, but a very rude staff member, possibly the owner, completely spoiled the experience for us. Despite the restaurant being no more than 20% full, he refused to let us sit at a table with a lake view. Instead, we were made to sit facing a socket, while several lake-view tables remained empty. It was late, and no other guests were arriving. The food was mediocre, and the service extremely poor. We were genuinely surprised – until now, we’ve always enjoyed Italian food and hospitality. Sadly, this experience was a real disappointment. We do not recommend this place.

Fantasic view, even in the evening! The staff did not really speak English nor were the dishes displayed in English so we had a little trouble with choosing what to eat, but the food was ok.

Authentic food from the Lombardi area. Our ferry captain recommended it as a place for both locals and tourists. The views are amazing, service is helpful and prompt; as Americans, we are not used to the 3 hr dining experience and they accommodate us.
Taz W — Google review
We had dinner as a group of 11. The view, service, and food were all excellent. Our waiter (Danny?) was awesome. The portions are large and the food is flavorful. One person got the fish fry dinner and was disappointed as it had no flavor. The Florentine steak was amazing, we did 0.5 kg per person and it was way too much. Others got wild boar. The pizzoccheri was amazing.

Today we had a second dinner in this restaurant and have mixed feelings about the experience. On the positive side, the restaurant boasts a gorgeous view that truly sets the stage for a memorable evening. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. However, the service was a major letdown. The staff were super rude and offensive, which really dampened the overall experience. The waiter refused to work with our table and we still don’t know why. We were not rude or disrespectful. The manager girl saved our evening but it was still really stressful. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful location and excellent cuisine are overshadowed by such poor service. If the management could address this issue, it would make for a perfect dining destination.

We were left waiting over 2 hours for food. It had gone dark and we could barely see the food when it finally did come out. Every other table was served before us including everyone who was seated after us with much larger parties, getting all their courses promptly. Very much felt like this was a race issue. The food wasn't all that good either. I do not recommend this establishment especially if you are not white.

Terrible experience. Left waiting for 2 hours on service whilst those around us, some who had arrived after, received their food and were waiting for the bill. Felt constantly ignored despite asking for updates. Didn't even provide complementary top up bread for the table. When the food arrived, wasn't even worth the wait. Bland and completely forgettable. Half hearted excuse from the owner upon leaving, blamed it on a chef getting injured, however, I noticed the food was flowing everywhere but our table. Don't want to level racism at this establishment, but being the only POC at the restaurant that evening, felt completely ignored and mistreated. Would have gone anywhere else that evening, however, there is limited transport in lake Como, so options were, wait for food or go hungry that evening. Have eaten all over the world, this is my worst food experience.

Wine bar
Ristorante L'Escale Trattoria & Wine Bar is a part of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, offering an immersive experience into local flavors and hospitality. It celebrates the essence of Italian trattoria and enoteca, providing authentic Italian cuisine with a modern twist. The restaurant provides traditional and lighter Italian dishes paired with a selection of fine wines in a relaxed atmosphere within a renovated wine cellar adorned with a charming veranda.
Had a great night at l’escale, it pitches itself to be a more “approachable” option vs the hotel’s signature restaurant “LA TERRAZZA GUALTIERO MARCHESI” with crowd favourite traditional Italian dishes such as steak Fiorentina and spaghetti carbonara but in an elegant high end setting. However don’t expect to pay bistro prices. A glass of wine will set you back 30 euro plus and look to spend at least 100 euro per person in food. But if you’re prepared for the price tag it’s well worth it. The service was attentive with a dash of over the top humour (we ordered the tiramisu that was prepared at the table and our waiter “confessed” that he was looking forward to the dessert more than we were) The atmosphere was bustling yet also managed to feel intimate, we were sat inside and were greeted with a modern yet personality full decor with many interesting elements as potential conversation starters. The indoor part of the restaurant is a perfect date location, it seemed that in this section the majority clientele were couples with several sat side by side as opposed to the traditional opposite. My only minor criticism was that even though we were sat inside it was slightly on the cold side so would say this is more of a summer place for those sensitive to lower than average temperature (we came in April). Last but not least was the food, and this did not disappoint. We ordered several dishes and surprisingly the standouts were the more traditional options where we found they were able to execute elevated versions of dishes we’d had before with a twist. The beef tartare for example was made at the table, broken down ingredient by ingredient, and served with raspberries, a well thought together addition which broke through the meatiness perfectly. Am glad we didn’t look at the reviews before coming as it may have persuaded us to not come. This is an amazing restaurant! Bottom line is L’Escale is an experience as opposed to somewhere where you just go to “get full”. Perhaps they could have one or two cheaper wine options, perhaps they could charge a slightly lower markup for food but the counter to this is for those who are looking for good value for money food and wine can definitely find better value options elsewhere in the region. However if you’re looking for a truly memorable time, amazing food and wine, and fantastic service all in a majestic yet approachable setting then look no further.

This was a VERY special dinner with the family while we were traveling to Lake Como and celebrating 20 years of marriage. I can’t say enough great things! We were a party of 5 and I give them a 5/5 (I’d actually say 6!) For our Food: The Apps- fresh bruschetta with fresh burrata; zucchini with ricotta; spinach salad with some delicious soft cheese. The Entrees: Spaghetti carbonara; lasagna; ravioli with lamb and a delicious pea sauce; and the BIG winner- my veal ossobuco alla Milanese. (This was probably the best Veal ossobuco I’ve ever had!!!) Desserts: a most wonderful chocolate mousse with chocolate gelato; a vanilla soufflé with cherries and a chocolate sauce and vanilla sauce; and a tiramisu, prepared right at the table side. Everything was delicious! The service was outstanding. The view and ambiance even more spectacular. While this had been our most expensive meal on this trip (and on many of our trips) it was truly an experience. Worth doing if you want something special and memorable. They normally have a live musician, but they were not there the night we ate. We were, however, treated to the most wonderful play list (my wife and I loved every song- it took us back to our early times of marriage when we listened to the Pottery Barn dinner collection CDs.. while we would cook and eat. Easily the best meal we had in Como during our week stay. It is expensive, but that should not surprise anyone given the menu is available online and restaurants in 5* hotels are almost always pricey. The staff was very accommodating to our bambini. One of few places that offers a burger and fries - a welcome change for our kids (9 and 7) after many meals of pizza/pasta. My wife and I shared foie gras (great), radicchio flan (unique and shockingly good), maccheroni (great tomato sauce), cacio pepe (fun table side prep and also great) and split a ribeye. Cannot say enough about the ribeye. We have eaten a numerous 3* Michelin restaurants, many of the top steakhouses in America, and this ribeye is, not exaggerating, the best steak either of us have had. It is thin cut, compared to American steaks, so do not go anything past medium rare. Wines, champagne and desserts all wonderful. We ate at 7:00pm, when the restaurant opens, service was prompt and very friendly.

I hate to write bad reviews, but I feel I need to warn people about this place. I do not mind paying a lot for a quality meal but this however was far from good or even decent quality, absurdly small portions, and insanely priced. The meatballs were so dry they were hardly even edible. The service was decent and servers were pleasant however a bit slow. To top it all off we were seated next to a family that was wildly inappropriate, loud, and vulgar throughout the entire meal, adding more to such an off putting experience. They should have been asked by the restaurant to stop it was disruptive to everyone else’s dining experience. I truly cannot believe we paid as much as we did for this almost comically terrible meal. Again I do want to say that the servers were lovely people but it’s so sad that such a nice hotel has such an awful restaurant. The view was the only saving grace, it was amazing but could not compensate for the rest of the nightmarish experience we had here.
Shelby R — Google review
Such a disappointment! Used to hotel guests with undiscerning palates and no care for money perhaps? Terrific location and view. Food ok, but so many better and fantastic options nearby. Sommelier tried to recommend a 300€ wine straight away. Seriously?! Tiramisu made at your table! A gimmick and insult to the Italian tradition. Service incredibly slow, and it wasn’t busy. Avoid if you don’t like to waste a meal. Go to Belle Ile or La Fagurida for real Italian gastronomy. Unfortunately not the quality of food and service when it first opened.
S L — Google review
Over priced, indisputably terrible service with bland, small portioned food. Not a very busy restaurant with very little atmosphere. It does have a very nice view but if you’re staying at the hotel you have that view anywhere you go. So it’s not unique to the restaurant. Be prepared to wait an hour between each of your courses and sit with empty drinks for 45 minutes or more. I was served 4 flavorless meatballs with a carbonara that tasted like the lid of the salt shaker fell off, paired with a couple glasses of wine, for $300. Not sure how a hotel of this caliber can allow for a restaurant to operate like this. We left most of our food, paid our bill and left. Horrible experience
Richard E — Google review
The food is mediocre at best and overpriced. For the most part the waitstaff were rude and unhelpful. Particularly the young man with curly hair, very off putting. The only thing this place has going for it is the view which they clearly rely on.

Nestled in the picturesque Villa Carlotta, Chiosco Villa Carlotta offers a serene and scenic atmosphere for visitors to savor a cup of coffee or indulge in a delightful snack. The 17th-century palace is renowned for its breathtaking gardens adorned with vibrant rhododendrons, camellias, and azaleas. With over 8 hectares of lush greenery to explore, this botanical paradise is home to an array of rare plants and species.
This kiosk is directly opposite the ferry stop and not inside the Villa Carlotta. If you're thinking of a ferry ride or a visit to the Villa then it's highly recommended to take a kiosk lunch box. We had a cheese and ham toastie (one is enough for two people) and a summer spritz. The lady at the kiosk was very friendly and helpful.

Very nice 'food truck' type of lunch option, reasonably priced and the best service received in Italy with a smile and kindness. You have nice benches across the street to enjoy your snacks with a nice view.

Very friendly owner and the food was great. We ordered a panini and hotdog, the owner suggested a drink as there was a special with the hotdog. Food was delicious and there was plenty to choose from. The takeaway lunch pack looked like a great option and would be perfect for a picnic or boat excursion. The prices were very reasonable.

My teenage children both ate cheese/ham panini from this stall on 18 and 19 July 2022. Both ended up with severe food poisoning, most likely from the ham. Such a shame as the food selection and smoothies were lovely. I suspect the ham was not handled correctly (no gloves used), no visible hygiene measures (hand washing), and the ham not stored in the fridge. I’m hoping the owner will check this review and correct their practice.

I don’t know if not common in lake como but not many breakfast places if not staying in hotel. This place had a lot of locals but were great to us. Went inside with our son and made some eggs, had some pasta for breakfast. All was great and would highly recommend.

I ordered carbonara and breaded chicken with potatoes..I left the food there as could not be eaten.. Really terrible. Chicken was reheated and had a bad taste..most likely done last century... Potatoes the same. Carbonara also not fresh and tasted funny. Most of the food on the menu is frozen and reheated!! This is the lowest possible food you can eat in Italy..stay away.. 33 euro. What a joke..if you want some nice food poisoning go there.

Food was great. Read some reviews that the pizza was the best some people ever had eaten. I've lived in Italy for 8 years and was a bit skeptic. Eaten pizza all over Italy, but I have to say it was actually really good here. Staff seemed pretty nice as well. Enjoy!

The restaurant Ristorante n26 Tremezzo is a great place to enjoy a good meal at reasonable prices. The food is very tasty and the view from the restaurant of the lake is beautiful.
This was our favorite restaurant during our visit to Lake Como! The staff was very knowledgable, nice and spoke great English. What does all the talking is the incredible food. Every dish we had was executed very well. How they present the dishes is Michelin like. If you are in the area you need to go, you won’t regret it! Thanks Nicola for your hospitality! Tatyana and Marina from NYC.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. We were very pleased with everything! The staff were exceptionally polite and professional, and they presented all the dishes beautifully. It was a pleasant surprise to receive complimentary appetizers and dessert. We highly recommend this establishment!

This lakeside restaurant offers a truly unforgettable dining experience, combining exceptional food with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and water. The steak was perfectly cooked, extremely juicy and flavorful, served on a hot stone to keep it warm throughout the meal. The starters were beautifully presented, with creative plating and delicate flavors that set the tone for a memorable evening. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, making it an ideal location for both special occasions and casual dinners. The attentive service and impressive wine selection made everything even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-quality gastronomic experience in a breathtaking setting.

I came here for dinner, and honestly—it turned out to be one of the best nights of my whole trip. What made it so special wasn’t just the food (which was amazing), but the people. Every person working there made me feel welcome. The manager, the waiters—everyone was kind, professional, and just… really good at what they do. The sommelier stood out especially. Super warm, super friendly. We ended up chatting about a bunch of things—dogs included! I also had a great conversation with one of the waiters from Argentina—we found some things in common and shared a few laughs. And the food? Wow. I had the Florentine steak and it was just perfect. Thick (like 5 cm thick!), juicy, cooked exactly right. You could tell the kitchen really knows what they’re doing. It wasn’t just a dinner—it felt like a beautiful moment. I left with a full stomach and a big smile. Definitely a night I’ll remember.

A Michelin starred seafood restaurant, Giacomo al Lago dishes out fresh and innovative cuisine that has won it rave reviews from diners. Sitting on the waters edge, this Lake Como establishment provides stunning views over the lake and is perfect for a romantic meal.
Hard to beat this atmosphere, absolutley stunning views of Lake Como. Truly romantic vibe. We shared a bottle of wine, started with the tuna tacos and each got our first pasta dishes in Como of Lobster Linguine and the Tortellini. Both were absolutely excellent. We grabbed drinks before and after dinner in the hotel.

Lakeside Seafood🦐 Enjoy a casual yet chic setting. The drinks were the best part of the evening and the pasta was delicious. Oysters are overpriced but fresh. Overall we enjoyed our evening meal but would really suggest just for an afternoon drink with a view. Service is very slow so be patient and enjoy the moment

Views, views, and views! The location of this restaurant is spot on and gorgeous. The staff were great and assisted us with guiding us through the menu. The food was ok. The branzino and linguine pasta with lobster were good. Again, it's not different from what you could get some placs else. Go there knowing you are there for the experience.

Now the restaurant Giacomo Al Lago. We were seated quickly. But our menus took forever. They were serving and attending other tables but after 10 minutes I had to go back to the check in area and ask the lady who seated us , who was suppose to give us the menus. So eventually it came. As you see in my pictures. The other ladies were given a place to set their handbags. One arrived after me. Mine was on the floor. So the beginning service was not good. My son ordered from the kids meal and they brought him an adult meal we had to send back. Now the food was delicious. Well prepared. They brought our seafood selections to look at and approve before they cook it for us. I wished their service matched the cook’s efforts. I had a much better experience with service at a different luxury hotel.
Jenny R — Google review
We had the pleasure of staying at GHT this past week. As for this restaurant, the true star is the view! My husband enjoyed his homemade tortellini, while my not-homemade-pasta was adequate. Why would a 5 star hotel in Lake Como not serve all homemade pastas? It is a travesty! The table next to us had a fish filleted table side- the server spilled their side dish all over the table settings and instead of giving them fresh linens, just put a dry napkin over the spill. Do better, Grand Hotel Tremezzo! Go for the view, not the food at Da Giacomo Al Lago!
Teresa H — Google review
Terrible experience with the receptionist. She was rude, unprofessional, and even forgot our order, leaving us waiting for ages. Thankfully, the other staff members were polite and tried their best, but the attitude at the reception really ruined the whole experience.
Thapadit S — Google review
Great view, great pastas, overpriced wine and fish. Good service. Worth a stop at this gorgeous hotel and restaurant. Suggest a drink vs a meal. But if you are having dinner go for the pastas and the menu seafood. Everything else done by weight is a ripoff. On the wines everything is overpriced. Stay away from the tourist trap priced Whispering Angel at 140 Euros. This is supermarket wine at connoisseur price. Some of the Italian wine options are still overpriced but better. The bar upstairs is dreadful. The piano man playing American selections, like Mandy and Purple Rain, while older lonely patrons sip small overpriced drinks. We tried to get him to play an Italian song…no luck. Worth a once in a lifetime stop and never again. This is a money extraction operation vs. an experience making place. Management: you will make more money being a bit more authentic vs this fake American experience.

My girlfriend and I first noticed this wonderful beachfront restaurant while on a boat tour in lake Como. So on whim, we decided to stop in for an Aperol spritz(or 3)… This lakefront gem is a must for anyone visiting the area. From the service to the food and atmosphere, everything was top notch. Pro Tip - Order the Linguine with clams. You will NOT be disappointed!

We stayed at GHT for a week, and T Pizza is by far the hotel’s best restaurant. We ended up having lunch here every day, frequently ordering their amazing Caesar salad, and their mortadella, pistachio and burrata pizza. Both 10/10! The staff are also incredibly friendly. An amazing experience

This is a review for T Bar. Not T Pizza. Don't know why they don't have it on Google maps. Incredible location, ambiance and views. Not to be missed. And it's a much better location than T Pizza. Although that was the best pizza we had anywhere around the lake, the ultimate cheat code is sitting at T Bar and asking (nicely) for a pizza from T. Additionally, the tagliatelle with tomato and burrata is one of the best pasta dishes you will ever have in your life.

THIS PLACE IS THE BEST ON COMO LAKE. Anyone that gives less than 5 stars to this place is one of two things: 1) Can’t Afford to even go. 2) Zero taste buds. The view, the service, the food, the relaxing environment all 11/10. Did I mention the service? Yeah. It’s elite. Pizza was amazing. I wish I had room to eat 2-3 more to test them and know what they tasted like. But I only had one. I will be back to stay the hotel and enjoy more of this one day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND anything this brand is involved in. Elite.

Good napoletan pizza available here with a really nice view of one of the pools from the hotel. The pizza was pretty good, had a few signatures with truffles or pistachio which were nice, but nothing extraordinary. The prices were quite high (20-30€ for a pizza, aperol spritz 22€), so I guess you pay for the view. The restaurant is open for both guests of the hotel and non guests. The entrance is through the hotel (main entrance and you just go up the stairs until you find it).
Adrian Z — Google review
Professional, friendly service. Pizzas were nice but you're paying for the ambience, not just the food. We've had similarly good pizzas for less. That said, it is a lovely setting next to the hotel pool and you can catch a peek of the lake and the mountains. Outdoor seating only.

Ali di Alice is a unique restaurant located on a hill overlooking Lake Como. It's recommended to make reservations in advance as the place tends to get fully booked. The setting is one-of-a-kind and the food is described as amazing, with options that go beyond the typical Italian menu. The wine selection is also praised, and the views from the restaurant are beautiful. While it may not be a budget-friendly option, many find that the quality of food justifies the prices.
Amazing location, amazing food and perfect service. We came here for a la carte dinner and were very happy. The location offers stunning views of the lake, the host and server were incredibly welcoming and offered us suggestions for exploring around the lake. The food was delicious - from a starter with pickled fish combined with honey, a vegetarian lasagna und lake fish with vegetables and potatoes. The dessert was another highlight with homemade icecream, combined with homemade olive oil and focaccia. Can highly recommend! Thank you 🙏

We booked Ali Di Alice for our wedding dinner and it was absolutely magical. Alice had transformed her already beautiful place into exactly what I wanted with the flowers and candles. The meal was so delicious, everything was perfect. She was able to cook something for all our guests with allergies too, the food was beyond fresh and portions were generous. She was so gracious, helpful and accommodating during the planning process. We cannot wait to come back to Lake Como and eat here again and relive the memories.

June, 2025 We couldn’t have chosen a better place for an intimate family dinner. After a boat tour on the lake and a visit to Villa del Balbianello, we found this spot and decided to privatize the entire garden and villa just for us. We added activities for the kids in the garden and in the kitchen, a delicious menu, a romantic table setting, and the incredible charisma of Alice and her team. We will definitely never forget this place and will absolutely come back — with friends!

We did the Essence of Lake Como tasting dinner the first night of our vacation and had an amazing experience! The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the immersive feel of the dinner. The outdoor space was lovely with a beautiful view overlooking Lake Como and the mountains. A storm rolled in at the end of our dinner and they didn’t hesitate to let us stay past close and even offered us another drink! The food and wine were incredible and the friendly staff made it such a special night!

The food was great and the view even better! We were here as a large group and they offered us the tasting menu, since this is a rather small place and it can take a while with a regular menu so it was not possible. The prices were pretty high but the food, wine and view made it worth it :) they ranged between 40-65 depending on whether you had a starter, a first course or a dessert as well. There were multiple options (including vegetarian for each course), such as tagliatelle with oxtail ragout, salmon trout, beef cheeks, or even cheese platter with accompanyments for each type of cheese.

This restaurant is amazing - delicious homemade food, you’ll find more interesting options than the usual typical Italian menu and it was all excellent. Very good wine selection also, plus the views are absolutely beautiful. This place is a gem. Good food and drinks for a very affordable price. The ravioli was something like $8 and was yummy. The cheese pizza with spicy salami was also like $8 and it was so tasty. The eggplant was wonderful. The dessert we ate multiple times on our stay in Azzano and every time it was so delicious and affordable. The staff was very friendly and welcoming too. Plus they are open most of the week. When we ate dinner there as a family of three one night, we got 3 entrees, a salad, a pizza, 3 desserts, 2 glasses of white, and sparkling water (some of this was for to go for later). And all that was around $65. Can’t recall the exact price but it was surely less than $70. And All the food was delicious. You can’t get that any where with that quality in the USA. Lots of people who seemed local. Though there is seating inside, I sat outside on the covered patio for the breeze and the lunch and prepared to walk back to Azzano in the pre-noon heat. Simple, quick lunch, though they look to have more variety on their menu.
