Hotel
Casa Andina Select Arequipa Plaza is a modern hotel located right next to Plaza de Armas in Arequipa, offering convenient access to the city's key tourist attractions. The hotel features 58 comfortable rooms spread across 5 floors, along with amenities such as an internet center, rooftop pool, gym, and sauna. Guests can enjoy delicious meals at the on-site restaurant, La Plaza Bar & Grill.
Great location and service right in the plaza. Great for me visiting Peru for first time. Breakfast was good - plenty of selection. Nice gym - used it twice. Too cool outside for the rooftop pool, but great views on the roof. I was part of a group holding meetings there, and the catering was decent too. My room had a private patio and room was nicely furnished. Bathroom was great. Housekeeping was very friendly as well. I had the hotel take some laundry and it was done in about 5-6 hours. Some music/street noise at night, but it wasn’t too bad (especially compared with other places I’ve stayed). Great restaurants around this tourist area. I might stay here again when visiting AQP. You can’t go wrong with this spot.

We had a great stay at Casa Andina Select Plaza de Armas. The facilities were excellent and the hotel is in a prime location. The dining area and pool deck offer amazing views of the Plaza de Armas, perfect for a relaxing afternoon or evening. We were also impressed with the well-equipped gym, which was a nice bonus and had a refillable water station. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with a variety of options to choose from. We enjoyed eating on the beautiful terrace, which was a great way to start each day. The staff were friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for its great location, beautiful views, and excellent amenities.

The location is superb, exactly ‘ in ‘ the Plaza de Armas, very convenient to go anywhere in the Centro histórico. The service is excellent, all the staff are very helpful. The room is small but clean and get everything you need. The restaurant offers good breakfast and lunch/dinnder options too. I have no doubt to recommend this hotel!
Elvin H — Google review
The hotel generally met expectations and has a nice view of the square, but I felt envious of several friends who stayed a block or two away at more hip hotels with nice rooftop bars/restaurants and interior courtyards.
Logan S — Google review
We picked this hotel for the Arequipa leg of our Peruvian trip and we were not disappointed. The location, the food an service were excellent. The only negative point is that the hotel itself is noisy due to poor insulation between the rooms. The sound from the other guests was loud enough to disturb us and even wake us up at night. The are also repeated mechanical noises coming from different parts of the hotel. Our room was spacious and we had a balcony facing the Plaza de Armas / cathedral. We had the breakfast included in our reservation and it starts at 6:00 AM. It is composed of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices, fruits, bread, pastries, yogurt, salad, bacon, sausage, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, cereal, yogurt, pancake and a meat based meal (chicken or beef) that changed daily (e.g. beef stew or chicken stir fry). On one of the sunny afternoon, we used the pool and sun deck to relax and cool off so that was really appreciated. The service from the staff was exceptional and they even accompanied us to the taxi stand on our departure since taxis are not allowed to drive to the hotel (pedestrian area).

I've been at other Casa Andina properties: Pucallpa, Chiclayo, Piura, Paracas and now Arequipa. The Select Hotel has THE BEST location, right in the main square, next to the Cathedral. I feel at home, but in this particular ocasion it felt even better. Safe and secure, quiet, peaceful. I came in a business trip and I could work peacefully inside my room and at the public spaces. And I slept so nice. It was like a mini vacation. I'm looking forward to come back with my family in a real vacation.
Walter L — Google review
Stayed for a week at Casa Andina Select, some days for work and a few days for personal family visit. We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff throughout the hotel was professional, respectful and helpful. The rooms are perfect size for our need and even though the hotel is located in the main Plaza of the city, it was not noisy, in fact, we slept very well. The restaurant has a very good breakfast buffet, and in the evening, a beautiful location to enjoy a glass of wine with a breathtaking view of the cathedral. We highly recommend the hotel for work and for a family vacation.
Carmen L — Google review
The food at buffet was horrible, I got the pesto pasta and white sauce penne pasta but both pasta was super salty. They need to have more food options for buffet.

Casa Andina Premium Arequipa is a classic lodging housed in a historic building dating back to 1794, declared a national historic monument and UNESCO Cultural Heritage site. The hotel's ideal location, just three blocks from the main square and behind the Santa Catalina Convent, offers guests easy access to explore the city. The property features elegant decor, high ceilings, and colonial-style courtyards.
Absolutely stunning hotel. Rooms were super nice and comfortable. In a great location to get to the main square and lots of great restaurants. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful calling taxis. The included breakfast had a great spread.

Great location, and rooms. Breakfast very good. Slightly let down by not having any heated lounge area without using gas powerered garden heaters. Breakfast was a bit chilly in the morning. However, I would definitely stay again, and Juan the doorman/porter was a real star... so welcoming and helpful.
Gary F — Google review
I was only here for one night but had a good stay. The hotel has a lot of character in the communal areas with the rooms at the back mostly modern. Due to a mix-up on the hotel’s part, I was kindly upgraded to junior suite which was very spacious and comfortable. Had all the amenities (kettle, hair dryer, mini bar, iron etc). Bed was huge, bathroom also very spacious. Black out blinds were great. Breakfast was good, with some hot dishes, including eggs, grilled vegetables and (fried chicken :)) lots of fruits, juices etc. And a good coffee machine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is fantastic, close to the main square and right next to the Santa Catalina Monastery (main sight of Arequipa). Checkout is 12:00 which is nice in comparison to other hotels in Peru with 9/10am checkout times! Bathroom shower door didn’t close properly but otherwise no complaints!
Zohras R — Google review
This was one of my favourite hotels durring my entire trip across Peru. The rooms are a great size and well laid out. The design of the courtyards and common areas are exceptional. Breakfast in the courtyard was bliss, great selection of food and great service. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Great hotel.

This is the best of all Casa Andina hotels we have stayed in Peru. Excellent location, impeccable service and very specious. All pictures I uploaded are from the interior. The buffet has a big choice of food. The hotel is located in an old mint factory established in 1794. The hotel has renovated the place with style preserving the ambiance of 18th century.
Ashod M — Google review
Nice quiet location with great access to the Plaza and restaurants. The rooms were clean but not very big and the a/c units blew directly on the bed. The breakfast had a great variety of choices in a beautiful courtyard. The historic hotel was well maintained. Juan provided outstanding advice where to dine, helped with luggage and was genuinely nice to talk with about Arequipa. We invited our son to breakfast and it seemed a bit expensive. More than dinner entrees at most restaurants.
Rose W — Google review
Highly unique property...understand it was former Treasury Department building. Occupied a suite of rooms off the patio that consisted of a large living room that led to an equally large bedroom and bathroom. Service was impeccable. Bartender was fantastic and even helped us purchase the high grade of pisco to take home to states with us so we can make pisco sours there! Great location...short walk to historical center of Arequipa and top-rated restaurants!

Wyndham Costa del Sol Arequipa is a luxurious five-star hotel located just a short distance from the city center, offering a stylish and upscale accommodation option. The hotel features a striking pink facade surrounded by palm trees and an inviting outdoor pool, creating a truly impressive setting. The interior spaces are elegantly decorated with a blend of heritage furniture and modern decor, extending to the well-appointed guest rooms.
We had the greatest time at Costa del Sol Arequipa. Our stay was lovely and incredibly quiet for a hotel that hosted families with children. The staff was beyond helpful at the restaurant, bar, lobby, and front desk. We were particularly fond of Wilfredo at the lobby and Epifanio at the bar and restaurant. The whole staff made our stay top notch and went out of their way to keep us comfortable and to get us transport everywhere. I must add this is the best Costa del Sol I have had the chance to stay at in Peru. We’re definitely coming back to enjoy those gorgeous facilities and comfortable rooms. Thank you very much.

Wow wow wow!!! You must stay at this hotel if you’re planning to go to Arequipa! What a wonderful and amazing place. Rooms are spacious, beds are super, mega comfortable. I slept like a baby. Breakfast is amazing and we had dinner one night and we loved every dish….do not miss their delicious desserts!!! They also offer sauna for their guest for free. Customer service was 10 out of 10!

Beautiful hotel! The food is amazing and the staff are lovely. Most comfortable beds and pillows of my whole trip through Peru. Breakfast has a very large selection, the pool and spa are great and the resident tortoise was also very cool! I stayed 2 non consecutive nights here in different rooms - the first room on the second floor was perfect, the second room on the ground floor was unfortunately very noisy with doors banging and a lot of road/traffic noise. Still, everything else was perfect and I would stay here again
Lisia S — Google review
Wow wow wow! This is the perfect place for our family of 4. We have two kids (2, and 4 years old) and this hotel was the highlight of our one month stay in Peru. It was amazing to watch breakfast on the patio, and the boys kids could run to see the turtles, the llamas, playground; and see the garden. Ernesto was our server each breakfast and he was so kind, warm, and memorized our order by the last day. Thank you Ernesto, for making our family feel so welcome and comfortable!
Julian T — Google review
Good: Everything was excellent, breakfast tasty with lots of options, rooms were cozy and clean, the gym was clean and spacious, and the pool was clean and warm. Service was respectful but not excellent, the only reason I’m scoring 4/5 is because of 2 staff people which helped us in every way and carried over the entire hotel service (they both were at the doors and reception). Also, the hotel included a nice detail for my mom’s birthday 🙌🏻. Bad: My only complaint is the WiFi signal, it was poor in our room, I had meetings which I could not attend due to that reason. For the price of the hotel I’d expect WiFi repeaters in each room.
Juan C — Google review
This beautiful property was our launch pad for the Andean Explorer. Two highlights: the sheets and Daniel’s hospitality in the restaurant, especially his Peruvian flair every time he delivered a drink.
Drew C — Google review
We just checked out of the Costa Del Sol Arequipa and would like to thank the hotel for their excellent service. Beautiful grounds, pool and hotel. Everything well organized. The best breakfast at any hotel I have stayed at in Peru over the years. I would highly recommend.
Theresa H — Google review
We stayed 4 days in a Junior suite (one of the higher categories of rooms). You can't drink tap water in Peru but there are only 2 bottles coming with the room for the 4 days!!. Any further water will be charged since you have to take it out of the (expensive) minibar or bring from outside stores, something you don’t expect from a 5 stars hotel. We were two ladies and they only give you a tinny travel size body lotion, we had to look for the room attendant to ask for another one. They had a coffee machine in the room but only give us two coffee pods for the 4 days we stayed and also two paper cups, you have to pay S/.7 if you want an additional coffee pod. Breakfast buffet was excellent, they had traditional dishes like Adobo that we enjoyed and also traditional bread, local fruit, etc, they also have gluten free food. They have live music in the bar on Fridays and Saturdays, drinks were good at a reasonable price. Hotel Room was big, clean and comfortable. Staff was kind but Edwin Sanchez went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, he was very helpful and kind all the time we were around.

We were in Arequipa, and we loved the white city of Peru very much, and along with it comes the place where we stayed for 2 days !! The location of the hotel; its rooms; view from the room - we just loved everything !! The bell boys were very cooperative and the hotel has a nice team of people !! The hotel premises have been kept well maintained, and cleanliness is visible everywhere !! You can safely hand over your belongings to the hotel; they have a luggage storage facility !!

We had a great stay at Casa Andina for two nights. Located only a few blocks from Plaza de Armas in the old neighbourhood of Barrio de San Lazaro, it has a number of good restaurants in the vicinity as well as laundries. The staff are excellent - welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are modern and clean and beds are comfortable. There is a comfortable Internet Lounge on 2nd floor with hot and filtered water and teas and a beautiful terrace on 4th floor looking towards the volcanoes. A great place to stay.
Mark C — Google review
Staff is nice and breakfast is fine, but the rooms are so freaking noisy... You can hear others go to the toilet, snor all night, etc. Really ruined my much needed sleep...
Bhi S — Google review
Staff were not very welcoming when we signed in. Didn’t take luggage to room. Room has no aircon or fans. Have to open one window only to have music blaring into room.
Mary-Lou G — Google review
Two night - three day stay. First time at the hotel. I was impressed by the check in service. Very professional it really made me feel welcome. The rooms are comfortable. No extras but it has everything that is needed. No AC so i imagine that it can get pretty hot depending on the weather. No heating unit just a ceiling fan. I had no problem with the temperature of the room but it might be an issue on very cold or very hot days. The restaurant has great service as well.
Ken S — Google review
The hotel is ok, nothing special. Rooms are clean and functional but nothing more. The walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbouring rooms clearly. The location is good, not far from the city centre. The staff are very helpful. The food is average. Do not stay in a room near reception, it gets very noisy at all times in the night.
David M — Google review
Pretty good, clean bathrooms, in a good location to attractions. Has its own little restaurant for food, would recommend going out to local restaurants though rather then the ones in the hotels, after all should be trying local dishes! Laundromat services is plentiful just down the street for cheap.
M C — Google review
The sparse "decor" of this hotel is just a step too far. From the fact that you have to carry bags up a short flight of stairs to get to reception, to the cheap cafe nature of the restaurant. Nothing bodes too well when you arrive. Staff are happy enough, and proved to be helpful. Worst of all was the noise. It echoes through the corridors, getting amplified as it goes. Can't remember a more noisy hotel. Not a good rest, let alone sleep.

The hostel features an outdoor pool, a restaurant, a yoga deck, and a lively bar that creates the perfect atmosphere for travelers to unwind and socialize. It also boasts a co-working space, making it ideal for digital nomads looking for comfortable and modern accommodations.
A really nice place with a lovely garden, a yoga deck, pool and bar, stuff is really friendly. Normally they plan activities during the day. Sometimes they have events so maybe ask in advance if there is something planned. Nice beds with curtains, locker and lamp! Enjoyable experience :)

Very chill and relax hostel. The pool and the big garden are a big plus. Besides that, the bartender Diego is extremely friendly and will always serve you with a big smile. Would recommend this hostel if you want to relax a few days.

Very happily surprised during our stay. The place looks beautiful and is pretty new so everything looks fresh. The city of Arequipa is really nice and the hotel is located right in the city center, but actually we preferred staying onsite because everything’s there in this little peaceful paradise. The pool could be a little cleaner, but the nice staff around (Diego 🤙🤙) makes you forget that rapidly. Would totally recommend!

Nestled in the heart of Arequipa's white city, Flying Dog Hostel is a captivating party paradise housed in an 18th-century colonial building. This mesmerizing hostel offers a vibrant atmosphere, exceptional service, and outstanding facilities. The on-site bar hosts high-energy activities like beer pong and lively games, creating an electrifying social scene for connecting with fellow travelers. Retaining elements of colonial architecture, the beautifully designed hostel features a gorgeous courtyard and fountain.
Nice hostel, comfy beds with feather duvets!! Breakfast was really nice and unlimited, it has some nice areas to sit and is close to the centre. It was very quiet when I was there so maybe not the best place to meet people, but maybe it was just a quiet week, but great place to chill.

This hostel is amazing for the price you get a amazing location walking distance from the main square, Christian one of the staff members was super welcoming, hardworking and nice, made lots of friends here and kept our belongings while doing the 3 day trek in Colca canyon. I got upgraded to a private room after returning which was perfect to wind down and relax. They have amazing decent breakfast and lots of places to socialise pool table area upstairs roof. Only thing I can say is wifi doesn’t really work and can be quite loud in the day-night!
Pat — Google review
Although I didn't technically stay at this hostel, I was dropped off here as part of a tour and had a chance to explore. I was grateful for being allowed to rest in the communal room on my early arrival. It's a lovely place with lots of character.
Eugenio C — Google review
The water take a long time to be the heated (I supposed that the heater is far). The control of the temperature was also difficult with half the levers damaged. The wifi is really only accessible in the commun room/salon at the entrance (I booked a private double bedroom and no signal). Another thing, it's cold during the night in the room but the sheets are adapted (just really cold when leaving shower). The bulding is able to cool down the rooms lower than the exterior, so really good during hight temperatures.
Anatole B — Google review
Staff were amazing and really helpful! The hostel is in a great location and has really nice common areas. The only downside was the shower in the private room was cold but everything else was great!
Shauna D — Google review
Rooms were a bit dirty -found lots of hair on the bathroom floor and in the bed sheets. Staff were friendly and good location. Hot water didn’t work and wifi was poor.
Killki S — Google review
The stay was ok. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has an interesting design with several outside patio areas. The hotel is of historic construction and the building is quite old. Some of the single rooms have vaulted ceilings. The dorms are clean but old. Bathrooms are located several places around the hotel. Not all the rooms have a bathroom and several of the shared bathrooms had toilets that did not flush well, but perhaps that has to do with the old plumbing system. For the most part, the hotel is pretty quiet, however, during my stay the town was having some religious celebration and there were fireworks and bells going off till after midnight. Made it very difficult to sleep with a pending 5am departure, but not the hostel's fault. There was a free breakfast of basically coffee, juice, rolls and scrambled eggs. Very basic. If you want something more, there are several places within a 2 min walk that have a broader selection.

I’m so happy I chose to stay here, my private room felt like an old castle! And the staff were so friendly, I’m traveling solo so no guest spoke to me but the staff always chatted with me everyday and they were so helpful with my online working needs, they let me have late check out for this and they let me check in early too as my room was ready. The breakfast was yummy cheese and eggs and coffee. The location was perfect . I would come back again, anytime

Hostal Villa Sillar is a modest hotel located in the heart of Arequipa, just a short walk from the main square and nearby attractions. The rooms are simple yet comfortable, each equipped with a kitchenette. Guests can enjoy the convenience of an on-site restaurant and a charming garden courtyard. The hotel also features complimentary Wi-Fi, concierge services, and an attached winery for recreation.
The location is close to the plaza and in my opinion, in the nicer side of the historic centre, very nice street, close to bars, restaurants and corner stores. It’s lively since it’s in the centre but the music stopped around 10pm. The rooms are just as good as others I checked for twice the price. The staff are lovely and the breakfast is ok (wasn’t keen on the microwaved egg but loved the teas selection). I would stay here again. Very good value.
Marie J — Google review
The location was good, as it is close to the old centre of town, and nearby Santa Catalina Monastery/Convent. It is also however close in proximity to bars and nightclubs....which we could hear in the evenings until early morning (3.30am etc). The rooms are small, but suitable for the price. However they lack any fans or air movement - so they become stuffy and hot - particularly in the room we were in with our two teenagers. 4 people in a room low ceiling was a bit uncomfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was secure, and safe. This would be a good place to stop when in Arequipa.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We loved our stay at Hostal Villa Sillar! The rooms and common areas are kept spotless—the cleaning staff do an amazing job. Every morning there is a small included breakfast from 7:00 to 8:30 with eggs and delicious traditional breads, which was the perfect start to our day. The staff have been incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, always making us feel at home. One of our favorite parts of the hotel is the sweet resident cat, Notella, who brought a lot of charm and personality to the place. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to other travelers looking for a warm and comfortable place in Arequipa.

Great location, the ladies working in the hotel are very friendly. We arrived at 5.30 after a 10 hour bus drive, but couldn't check-in early. We had to wait in the lobby until 11.00.

The hotel was very average. The staff was pretty attentive overall, but the cleanliness was very mediocre at best. When we arrived to our room, the bathroom still had a soap wrapper in the shower and the toilet seat was shaking was we sat on it. The shower was not the warmest and tended to flood a little. The beds were pretty good though. Also, the breakfast area looks lovely in the pictures, however on the adjacent building there is trash littered on the roof, which was quite unappealing. The breakfast buffet time was the most inconvenient time for tourists who are exploring the city, with a time of 7-8:30am. Also, the lock to our room was also jiggly, which felt insecure and could have easily been broken into.

We booked months in advance two rooms through Booking and two days before our arrival we received a notification that our reservation was cancelled. First we tried to contact them through Booking, but we never received any answer. Then we immediately contacted the hotel by phone to ask what was wrong. Apparently our credit card was not accepted, which is not very credible, because we initially got a confirmation from Booking and our card was always accepted in other hotels. Furthermore, they informed us that all rooms were booked. It just feels like they cancelled our booking in order to rent them out for a higher price in high season. Would not recommend!

This Hostal is nice, but it has a big problem: on Friday and Saturday night the nearby disco plays music from 17.30 to 5.30 am. 12 hours non stop and it is impossible to sleep. It seems they are playing in you room. We were there also on Sunday and it was completely quiet. So I can recommend it only if you avoid weekends.. To improve: breakfast box. Many tours leave early morning (5 or 6 am) and they should provide a better solution for take away breakfast, not just a packet of biscuits and orange juice.

We arrived late and were greeted warmly and shown to our very comfortable room. It was quiet and had heat and a/c. All updated and near city center. Breakfast was included and delicious. The staff was super friendly and helpful giving us a bottle of water for our day excursion. We weren’t able to catch a flight the day we checked out so we booked another night and got an upgraded room at no charge! Definitely recommend staying here!

I was pleasantly surprised at the overall good condition of the hotel and the pleasantness of the staff. Very clean and enjoyable stay. We came too late and left too early to fully enjoy everything this hotel had to offer , but from what I experienced, this place was very clean and relaxing.

The hotel is well located .but when i ask at the front desk what happened with the street in front of the hotel they told me is been destroyed by the city for 2 months already the dust and the holes make impossible to walk even the taxi left us one block away because there not road for cars. And they dont mention that issue when we reserved the place .

I stayed in this hotel back in May when I was attending a seminar and conference around in this area. It was quite a tiring and stressful couple of days for me so it was highly important to find a hotel which would not add anything negative to it. I can 100% assure, my stay in this hotel despite my anxious nature turned out quite comfortable. if there were even minor issues I found myself dissatisfied with, it would cloud my whole experience. This is why I am confidently saying I have no complaints to point out. The room was really clean and comfy. Terrace view would help me every evening to relieve stress and staff was also quite accommodating.

The best stay we had in Peru. Rooms have a very big comfy bed. The shower pressure is amazing. It is located right across a big park where lama's roam. We had a room with a balcony view on the park, great view! The staff is very friendly and helpful. For us the location was great. 10 minute walk to the city centre and an overal nice and quiet environment.

Villa del Carmen is just a short walk from all the places you will want to visit and eat/drink at on the old town of Arequipa. The staff have been great and the rooms sizeable with a desk. Parking was also easy which is not always the case in busy towns. Highly recommended!

A definate recomendation! One of my fav stays in Peru! Liked · Everything! All the properties I stayed in Latin America are old so that is no issue to me. I like the vintagy style. I had a huge room, nice bathroom and on the ground floor. It has a nice inner yard and an adorable kitty greeted me at the door! The owner and his family is super friendly and I met some nice people too. The location awas great and I believe it was a great value for money. I would definately go back given the chance! I was a bit angry prior to my arrival as the owner kept typing in Spanish and saying he spoke no english and I was exhausted and super delayed arriving, but he actually speaks english and he is super friendly. I believe the online communcation was a bit funny because this accomodation exceeded my expectations!

Really nice place to stay, traditional, really clean. The owners are incredibly nice and it was great to be able to stay in a nice place like that. The breakfast was also nice. 100% recommend this place to stay
Ad D — Google review
I’d characterize this as similar to a hostel but with a private room and shower. Bathroom is communal in the lounge area (and some rooms don’t have a shower so some people use this one and will get water on the floor). I say hostel because there was a 2-foot open space above my door (where there used to be a window) so voices can sound like they are inside your room. Fortunately, all guests were quiet at night and in the morning so I could sleep. People gather in the lounge for table tennis, pool, lounging etc also like a hostel. I only used hot water for coffee, but beyond that the kitchen seems fully furnished. Wi-Fi was difficult to use from the room and I couldn’t connect at all with my cellphone. The owner will organize tours if you need the help. I’m a little too old for a hostel, but this will meet the needs for a lot of people.

My girlfriend got sick on the last, right before we had to leave for Machu Picchu. Señor Gonzalo let us stay for the whole day so my girlfriend could sleep a few hours longer. Thanks for the great service!! Greetings, Maria and Arnoldus

If your looking for a good place to sleep and not for much money this is your place! The building is very old however it’s in a great location and most importantly it’s clean, comfortable and has good showers. We stayed for two nights and was a perfect night sleep. The hostel does offer breakfast however we did not opt for this package so cannot comment. The host was very friendly and was particularly helpful with organising a 2 day tour of the Colca Canyon which we were picked up right outside the main doors. The host also allowed us to keep our luggage in our room for when we went on our trek which was one stress we did not have to worry about. Very easy to contact also on WhatsApp if you ever needed anything. Only thing we were disappointed with was the laundry service as it was slight overpriced compared to other local laundrettes. The turn around time was fantastic however the quality of the wash we were not that impressed.

Great location in Arequipa just a few minutes walk from the plaza de armas. Is an old quiet hostel perfect to stay in town in a tide budget. Service was excelent Free wifi

The hostel is in a old building and it’s not so modern, therefore the price is really good. So if you looking for something cheap with a good location, calm and quite comfortable then this is a good place. Also the owner is really friendly and helpful. The hostel was clean specially the bathroom and the bed what is most important.
Daniel K — Google review
Located conveniently to the main plaza with stores and restaurants all around. The owner is very helpful. The only negative is the basic level of the rooms, but it's to be expected as the price is also cheap. So it's a good place if you're looking for something very short-term or if price is of utmost importance.

Hostal Solar de Arequipa is a charming retreat that perfectly embodies the essence of relaxation and comfort. Nestled in a prime location, this laid-back hotel features warm rooms and inviting spaces like a cozy lounge and sun-kissed terrace, ideal for soaking up the rays while enjoying a delightful buffet breakfast. Guests can indulge in an array of options including cereals, fresh fruit juice, yogurt, and coffee to kickstart their day.
The room was big and comfortable with space to store my things. The hostal had a balcony with a great view of the mountains and volcanoes where breakfast is served. We were also allowed to eat our own food here. The location is relatively close to the plaza and is close to cafeterias and mini markets. The included breakfast was good for the room price.

Unfortunately, we had a negative experience at this hotel while staying for three nights. First of all, there was a posted sign in the room that explicitly stated there was a washer and dryer on the fourth floor to use yourself. We were thrilled and did a load of laundry only for the woman at the desk to tell us the sign is a “mistake” and we now need to pay her money directly for the use… after we already used it. If we had known, we might not have used it but it was too late. She prioritized tricking people over good customer service. Secondly, the door to the room never locked, even with our keycard, so every time we wanted to leave the hotel, we would need to ask and trust someone to lock it. It was never explained why it didn’t work and no one seemed to try to fix it but it didn’t make us feel comfortable. Lastly, every minute or so in the shower, we would be blasted with freezing cold water. For the price, I was underwhelmed with the experience.
Nicki M — Google review
A nice hotel in Arequipa that is reasonably priced. Pros - centrally located to the historic centre and all key restaurants - the showers have very hot water - the hotel staff were able to organise taxis to the airport for me which always arrived on time - you can leave your luggage in storage whilst doing an overnight trip to the Colca canyon - the staff are friendly but don’t all speak English - the balcony is good for watching the sunset Cons - the curtains in the room don’t pull across so you have to use a pole to pull them which is quite annoying - the breakfast is pretty basic (I ended up eating out every day instead) - the WiFi is very bad and I had numerous calls cut out

MONARCA AREQUIPA is a modest hotel with simple rooms, some equipped with minifridges and free Wi-Fi. The contemporary decor, set in white volcano rock, creates a unique ambiance. Guests can enjoy the spacious terrace offering stunning views of El Misti Mountain. Despite basic en suite rooms and minimal insulation causing cold nights, the spacious and clean accommodations feature large comfortable beds and 24/7 hot water.
All the bad things first; my private en suite room was basic and insulation was virtually non existent, so it got really cold at night. However the room was spacious, clean and in a decent state, and honestly had one of the biggest and most comfortable beds I have ever seen in my life. The bedding provided makes up for the lack of insulation. Hot water is also available around the clock, which is a luxury in Arequipa as anyone who has travelled here will know. The location is excellent and I paid less than $20/night, which is dirt cheap for this city. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Omar. Laundry services are also offered at a very reasonable PEN 3/kg. Internet was also excellent. All in all, this place will probably not win Hotel of the Year any time soon, but it has more than basic needs at a very good price, so it should be good for anyone except those who came here to look at the inside of a hotel room. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Booked a private room, which was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was great (try the caprese sandwich), as well as the service by Marina.

The hostel is not clean, noisy and even if cheap it is not with the price. We cooked one day for breakfast and we got our feet brushed from the guy that was ‘cleaning’. Not the right time for cleaning. We also have been disturbed all night due to a party in one of the rooms which were not used by guests, so it was basically a private party with loud music that ended with a fight about something that got stolen. We got our bags and left. Choose another place even if you want to travel cheap!

2.5/5. When we arrived in the morning, the room I booked was not available despite me booking for the night before and communicating to the owner that I was doing so in order to check in early. So we had to wait or pay 4 USD more per night for a room with a private bathroom. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, since to access the shared bathrooms you have to go outside, which would not have been fun in the middle of the night. However, for the price I paid I could have booked a nicer room somewhere else. There was a plumbing issue which left us unable to shower, wash our hands, or flush the toilet for a day. Can't blame the owner directly but there weren't any provisions or help given to us while we waited for the plumber. We opted not to use the kitchen after seeing it. The room was decent and we were comfortable there, we were given towels and plenty of blankets. The big positive I would say is that the owner is very nice, and is patient using Google translate when your Spanish fails. She also took care of our clothes as I asked. The laundry did a very good job with our low-temp wools and delicates after I pointed them out to the owner (previously a place in Lima refused to touch them, so I appreciated this).

Room was dirty, run-down and a bit moldy. The electric installation of the shower was life-threatening. All other public parts of that hostel are matching the description above. Bad value for money

This place has its harisma , it’s the people who make you feel great there. Even though the facilities are very basic , you have all what you need to cook food for yourself and take shower. Water is not always hot , it’s warm -ish . The stuff are very friendly , and especially Jimy who looked after me from the beginning. As i’m not speaking much spanish , he was trying his best to communicate in english and help me with everything , last minute arrival and overnight, he store my luggage when i was on the trip in Canyons and help me to get to the bus station on my last day , as my bus was at night and the bus stations are not too safe for single female traveler . Thank you Jimy for everything and all the best.

Good location but the rooms are terrible. The toilet was placed in such a way that it was almost impossible to sit on it. The shower is only for the brave, who are not afraid of electric shock. Actually, there was nothing to worry about, because the electricity did not work during our entire stay. There are no clean sheets on the beds. We do not recommend.

(Translated by Google) I do not recommend it at all, the room is very expensive unlike the services they offer, I wanted my room to have a shared bathroom, they charged me 1 more day for leaving late after check out, I said it from the first moment that my flight left later but They still charged me AND IN ADVANCE. Regarding breakfast, it was a disaster, there was no old coffee, only a 30-cent sachet and the area was a rooftop equipped as a terrace where clothes and sheets were hanging. When I left it was also terrible, I couldn't find a taxi so I had to take my heavy suitcase down by myself, no one helped me. Look at my comment on the booking and how the lady answers me, you already realize the kind of education she has and what service she provides, I RECOMMEND THAT YOU GO TO THE FRONT OF THE MANSION DEL SOL.

(Translated by Google) Quite an unpleasant experience at this hostel. Poor reception service, lack of cleanliness, poor showers, lack of ventilation, and a long list of other bad services they claim to have but don't provide. They also wanted to charge us extra for a pre-booked room, leaving us stranded after a six-hour trip until they finally agreed to give us a room that wasn't actually part of the reservation, and in a rude manner. The only redeeming feature of the hostel is the view from the breakfast area; otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

(Translated by Google) It was the first time I visited Arequipa, with all the best expectations and the excitement of traveling with my family (4 people). This HOSTAL, because it cannot be classified as a 3 STAR HOTEL, was, due to our bad luck, the first hotel during my stay that we had booked 6 months in advance. Well, it turns out that I arrive at their reception (which by the way does not have an elevator and I can carry 4 people's suitcases up the stairs and without help from the HOSTEL, you can tell me how complicated it was for me) and the receptionist tells me that they had changed the price, that they were not going to respect the original price that I reserved 6 months ago and it took me half an hour for them to honor my reservation and that I was not going to spend one more sol/dollar/euro. Finally, in a very bad way, he gave me the most horrible room in his establishment. From that moment on, the treatment we received at RECEPTION - CUSTOMER was fatal, as if we had done something to them. Anyway, thanks to the universe we only had to stay for 1 day, but it was eternal because of the treatment and service they provided. NEVER for the love of Christ, go to that HOSTEL!

This place is one of the best price-quality ratios I have ever stayed at. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean and modern and they take care of every detail. Even a little sweet awaits you after turn down service to wish you a good night. I cannot recommend staying here more.

Got first room which was on the stairs and it was so noisy loud that we asked to do something about this. They gave us different room and it was good. Breakfast is weird; is like a restaurant but you get small portion of something and you need to purchase extras.

This place markets itself as a luxury hotel, but it doesn’t even come close. It’s really terrible value for money. The staff are super cold and rude, the rooms are practically falling apart, and it’s very noisy. My first impression of the hotel was walking in and I thought the staff was helping me with my suitcase, but he just closed the door behind me, and then continued to watch me struggle with my suitcase without offering help. The pretty much sums up the entire stay. The rooms are just terrible - several things were falling apart, the towels had a strange yellow hue, the shower leaked, and my room’s only window faced the staircase. Not only was it super loud, but there was also no privacy. I’m truly unsure why this hotel has European prices in such a humble city like Arequipa. A hostel would have actually been better.

Excellent place if you either stay for tourism or for business in Arequipa. It is very central and therefore the rest to discover is in walking distance. Staff is extra friendly and tries to help whenever they can. My personal tip - make sure to visit the rooftop for a sundowner. And do not miss out on the AMBER bar downstairs - the signature drinks are REALLY unique and a must-try.

I had to wait for it to be cleaned while they gave me a cheaper one. -Ambiguous or even misleading advertising: they list breakfast when it's not actually provided and it's extra. It says extra in small print. -Regarding the service, some staff are friendly, while others are grumpy. -The internet is slow and sometimes goes down. Other: -For the price, it's a bit expensive; the rooms are small, and you can hear everything from each other. -Since it's on a corner, there's noise from outside almost all day in the room facing the street. (Translated by Google) If it were possible I wouldn't give them even one star. The horrible rooms, with dirty floors which floor where crazy people sleep (without exaggeration), the bathrooms the same, the mattress with a patch and dirty; If you think that because it is far from the center it will be quiet and without noise, you are wrong, you can hear everything because the rooms are made of plywood, the internet has a low signal, the TV is small and blurry with cheap cable. The employees treat you as if it were not their job to provide you with assistance. They don't put things in order, the other guests started talking in the middle of the hallway until they felt like it (remember plywood walls). I made the mistake of leaving Yanahuara (the hotel was under renovation) to this hotel where I thought that because it was far from the center there would be no noise, a mistake because for the price of this hotel you can get one in better places, with breakfast included , and good service, and above all clean. I should have been warned by the smell of cheap air freshener that they put in to hide the smell of the sheets (at first glance they were not dirty but they had a stored smell) speaking of smells, the reception reeks of cigarettes. The owner wants to get rich quick, I repeat again for the price you get a better one, here they give you a market hotel room for the price of a tourist residence room. I didn't believe the other opinions where they said the same thing as me.
