Sangay Spa Hotel is a serene retreat nestled in Banos, Ecuador, offering a tranquil atmosphere with picturesque views of cascading waterfalls. The hotel boasts an outdoor pool and a spa featuring 36 different treatments including Ayurvedic therapies and medicinal baths. Guests can enjoy comfortable rooms with amenities such as free Wi-Fi, cable TV, and private terraces overlooking the stunning surroundings.
The service was the best service I’ve ever had. Coming from the America we don’t speak a lot of Spanish. But the front desk knew English. When my gf got sick they handled the situation better than any most by far. The location is great it’s a nice 7-9 min walk to the down store main strip. Highly highly recommend staying here. Oh the breakfast was also delicious and huge variety.

Beautiful small hotel in central Baños right next to the Thermal Waters. The hotel smells amazing and is really nicely decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is no elevator but they moved all of our luggage to the third floor for us. The room was simple but nice. The TV had terrible reception but we only watched it before bed. The breakfast buffet was wonderful.

This is a nice hotel in Baños, a lovely town - we wished we would have had more time to look around it. There is a stunning waterfall outside the hotel - at night it is lit up beautifully. The meal we got at the hotel restaurant was very delicious, especially the chocolate dessert. The restaurant itself had a fun "Alice in Wonderland" theme. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the pools or the spa.
Glenda M — Google review
Had a wonderful stay here while visiting Baños. Right away, there is a beautiful waterfall right across from the hotel entrance. The service is top notch 5 star. Both restaurants are delicious, as is the breakfast buffet. I also had a massage with Fernanda and it was amazing. I would highly recommend a visit.

I visited the hotel with my wife. Reservations were made via WhatsApp. Marlon helped us with that. The decorations were nice. There was some humidity on our bedroom wall. The SPA was great. The three course diner was awesome. The breakfast was good. Just take care of some small humidity on the bedroom walls. We will definitely visit you guys again.

I've stayed at Sangay since the early 80's, always amazing, incredible food and great service. Rooms are spacious and clean. It does get cold at night, requesting an extra blanket is recommended.
Juan P — Google review
We stayed here 08/30/25. This hotel is definitely a bang for your buck. It might seem like you can get a place for cheaper at one of the “hospedajes” but unless you’re a backpacker and willing to rough it out I would definitely recommend spending the money here.

Great hotel close to the town staff really helpful rooms were nice although our bathroom was very small Breakfast was nice and we had an early morning pick up they gave us boxed breakfast to take with us

Selina Baños is a trendy outpost of the popular Selina collection, offering co-living and co-working spaces across Ecuador and Latin America. It's an ideal choice for affordable accommodations with various amenities, catering to short-term travelers as well as those seeking week-long or month-long rentals. The downtown location provides easy access to bars, thermal baths, and restaurants. Guests can enjoy organized events, tours, and excursions to meet other travelers and explore Banos.
This is such a comfortable place to stay! The location is great and when you just want to chill, drink, or enjoy food at night or while it’s raining… they have it all and the view up at rooftop is amazing. I was so grateful that they upgraded our room with a shared bathroom to a private standard room with its own bathroom at no extra cost. :) That was such a nice unexpected surprise! One thing I would note is the bathroom always stinks in the room, like sewage and if we left the bathroom door open the entire room would smell like it. I notice the shared bathrooms didn’t stink though and they had scented stuff in those bathroom to make it smell pleasant, I think it would be amazing if they could do something like that for the rooms with private bathrooms! It would make it more comfortable for sure. Otherwise the rest of the place is amazing and we would most definitely come back!
Kirsten K — Google review
More than disappointing experience in this hotel! we arrive with our reservation but we are told that there is no more room! We were offered a dormitory after insisting otherwise they would have just asked us to leave. the staff is nice but incompetent, they just have to chat with each other at the back of the office and take 30 minutes to respond to you. the night was terrible with people shouting and playing loud music.. the next day we asked to book one more night but in a private room. they say yes but you have to wait until 3 p.m. to be able to change. at 2:30 p.m. we asked if the room was ready and we were told no even though it was ready so we waited 30 minutes. the room is quite nice but no hot water for 40 dollars a night it's not great. Bar staff are friendly but not helpful not professional. in short, A disappointment for the price

The location is perfect, as you are practically overlooking the church. It is a very modern space with hostel style rooms and lockers for your things as needed. The only issue we had was that after 10pm, there is really no where to hang out as a group with other guests, as they close the restaurant area and do not let you chill in the lobby lounge area.
Reema C — Google review
Loves this hotel. Had the coolest rooftop with great included breakfast. The location is central- however, don’t stay here if you want relaxation and a full 8 hours of sleep. A band would start playing around 530 AM sometimes and even late at night. I think it had something to do with the church. We had to sleep with the balcony door open since there was no fans or AC unit and it was pretty hot while we were there. We only stayed for two nights and everything was walkable, which was great. I only wish we could’ve gotten better sleep. The staff was fantastic and so kind. There was even a note saying when the scheduled power outages were (2-7 pm) which other hotels didn’t notify us of. 8/10 recommend!
Alyssa J — Google review
The overall experience at this hostel was disappointing. The reception was poorly managed, with staff showing a lack of interest in assisting guests. The available tours were limited and overpriced, offering little value. Service at the rooftop was mixed—while William was an absolute pleasure to interact with, the girl serving upstairs displayed a notably poor attitude toward guests. This contrast in service was striking. The hostel itself felt lifeless, with very few guests and no real atmosphere. Additionally, the kitchen’s filtered water supply was constantly empty, which was inconvenient. That said, the private room was a redeeming feature—quiet and located conveniently across from the church. It provided a peaceful retreat despite the shortcomings elsewhere. Rating: ⭐️ for the private room ⭐️ for William
Gigi — Google review
Don't bother. I've been told they sold the place so nobody cares. The place is a ghost town. I had no hot water. I asked reception but they didnt care. They said its fine in the kitchen. No help. Didn't get much more than a couple of sheets to sleep with at night. Outside noise at night can be annoying. I can see why nobody is staying here. Stay anywhere else. The great hostel around the corner is much nicer.
Stephen W — Google review
The Selina in Baños is very average hostel but much more expensive than other options in town. The room was nice but not clean enough. The main problem was we didn’t have electricity for many hours during our stay, it is due to the government restrictions and obviously not the place fault, but they did not inform us about the schedule so we can plan our days accordingly, and didn’t provide us any solutions, not even a candle or a lamp so we wouldn’t seat in the dark in our hostel. At the time the electricity went off we didn’t have water (it caught me in the middle of a shower 🤦🏼‍♀️), and the restaurant didn’t work. Not to mention that many other restaurants and hostels have a generator and can work regularly. It is not the service I would expect from a hostel in this level.
Yarden H — Google review
We had a really nice experience here. The food was amazing (spring rolls with shrimps, pasta pesto, sandwich and chili fries)), the cocktails were really good as well! The service was great, the people were very kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend coming here. After ordering the drinks and food we were able to play a game of pool, which was really fun!

Casa Giralda is a relaxed hotel in Banos de Agua Santa, Ecuador, offering various types of accommodations such as bungalows, cabanas, and chalets. The hotel features both indoor and outdoor pools for guests to enjoy. The outdoor pool overlooks the mountain resort while the indoor pool is kept at a warm temperature throughout the year. Additionally, guests can relax in the heated jacuzzi or unwind in the sauna or Turkish Hammam.
Good location, rooms are very basic but adequate with extremely firm beds, Great price for the stay, especially if you will be in town most of the time. Walk is 10 to 12 mins to center of town.
Jayospina — Google review
The rooms were cosy but the bathrooms needed work. Leaks were reported but no one cared. Around the pool and the roof had mole and the smell was unpleasant. I preferred to stay in my room and watch movies during my stay.
Luis A — Google review
Let me start by saying if there was an award for the creepiest water slide on the planet this hotel would win 1st place! Anyway the hotel was in a perfect location for us . It was close to downtown but far enough away that we didn't have all of the noise and chaos of downtown. The rooms are very outdated but very clean. The grounds could use some maintenance but the views are amazing. Breakfast was included and very good. It wasn't the best hotel I ever stayed in but it was a decent place.
P K — Google review
This place has all the amenities! Multiple pools and hot tubs, athletic fields, game room, friendly staff, and a quick 10 minute walk to town (or $1.50 cab ride). This place is old and somewhat past it’s prime. But, my kids loved it. We had the 2 story room and the kids loved having the spiral staircase up to their room. We’d stay here again if we came back to Banos.
Rhett B — Google review
This hotel was sufficient. They were able to provide a cabin for a large family. There is a swimming pool and a restaurant where we ate breakfast. Unfortunately the cabin often smelled very badly (typically after flushing) the water slide was not functioning, and other parts of the pool area didn't seem to be working. There is no wifi in the rooms. If you just need a place to stay then it will work. But it wasn't an overly comfortable stay.
Marc C — Google review
First, it looks nothing like the pictures. Second, it was impossible to sleep some rats or other animals were walking and scratching between the walls and the roof. Tried to contact the reception during the night but got no answer. They still made me pay the whole 75$ for the night. Breakfast was good.
Sandrine B — Google review
Fun and Beautiful! I love this place and it's feel and location. Baños is beautiful and Casa Giralda made my trip even better. It's close to town but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle. The view is great and the people are friendly.
Andres C — Google review
All of the facilities claimed are in need of some restoration which was true of our room too. Perfectly functional but looking a bit old and battered, the disused giant snake slide into the outdoor pool is an indication of a hotel that knows it is past its best. None the less a very pleasant stay with charming staff and exciting activities in baños.

Nestled in the heart of Banos, Hotel Donde Marcelo is a charming 3-star retreat offering personalized service and a tranquil ambiance. Situated at Ambato y Pasaje Herrera, this delightful hotel provides easy access to nearby attractions and eateries. The well-kept and clean rooms offer stunning mountain views, while the on-site restaurant serves fresh breakfast daily. Very well kept and clean hotel. The rooms were spacious and sparkling clean. The rooms have a glorious look at the spectacular mountains that surround this city. I found that breathtaking. There is great fresh-food that is served for breakfast every day. There are also paintings with beautiful artwork that you can enjoy as soon as you enter the hotel. There are many things to do around here as well. Shop, eat, and enjoy family filled entertainment. Over all it was a great place and hotel!

Nice and clean place. Location is good - close to town Center. Parking was good even though it was a little difficult access. WiFi could be better inside the room.

This hotel is owned by a nice family and try to be helpful. No one speaks English so you have to bring prepared. Price is too high and better options can be found and much cheaper in the area. Breakfast is also on a very low end and you can do much better.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay here. We had a nice room with a view of the waterfall. Breakfast was excellent and great coffee. Karl and his wife were lovely hosts and offered lots of suggestions for activities and anything else we needed. The dogs were friendly and nice. The art collection is like visiting a gallery!

Amazing hotel, family owned. Really cosy and comfortable. We had great view on the garden from the room and a chimney to warm up at night. The breakfast is included and is so tasty. The hotel is located right next to the hot springs. Very good choice for holidays, both single or as family. Highly recommended.
Monika J — Google review
We had the pleasure of staying at La Posada del Arte for three nights in mid-August during our family trip to Ecuador. Our group included an 8-year-old and parents in their 90s, so finding accommodations that could suit a wide range of needs was important — and this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We booked our stay about a month in advance and drove down from Quito. We were happy to find ample street parking available directly outside the hotel at all hours of the day. From the moment we arrived, Carl, his wife, and staff greeted us with warmth and genuine hospitality. They quickly got us settled and were incredibly accommodating when we needed to switch one of the rooms due to mobility concerns for one of our elderly parents. Their thoughtful assistance made all the difference in making our stay comfortable and stress-free. The grounds and rooms were exceptionally clean and well-maintained. We especially loved the rooms on the second floor, which offered a spectacular view of a nearby waterfall — beautifully lit at night, creating a magical atmosphere. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised by the strong water pressure in the showers — something that had been lacking in other places we stayed in Ecuador. The location of La Posada del Arte couldn’t be better. It's just a short walk to many of Baños’ charming restaurants, cafés, and local shops, yet it still feels peaceful and tucked away from the busier parts of town. One of the highlights of our stay was the wonderful breakfast served each morning. There were several delicious à la carte options to choose from, and everything was fresh, hearty, and filling — the perfect way to start a day of exploring. This was our first time in Baños, and staying at La Posada del Arte made it even more memorable. Whether you’re traveling with young kids, older adults, or anyone in between, this place offers comfort, convenience, and heartfelt hospitality. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
Joannie C — Google review
From the night we checked in until the afternoon we checked our, our stay here was nothing short of perfect. Our first night we arrived later in the evening and we were greeted by Priscilla, the owner who got us all set up and showed us around the property. Since it was late and our first time in Baños, we decided to have dinner right at the property for convenience, but it ended up being another great choice. Our meals were prepared fresh and were exactly what we needed after a day of travel. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and a fireplace which we unfortunately didn't end up getting to use. From our room we had a view of the waterfall and were able to fall asleep to the sounds of it each night. The included breakfast was excellent each morning and was an easy way to start our day. Everything in town was a close walk of only a few minutes and was in a great location for anything you may want to do. Karl, the other owner was a life-saver and was able to arrange a last minute ride for us to Quito when our Uber driver bailed on us. If we're fortunate enough to make it back to Baños, there's no question about where we'll be staying.
Travis M — Google review
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Posada Del Arte. The location was central and an easy walk to downtown attractions. Our room was spacious with a beautiful view. The food was delicious, especially the huevos rancheros. But what made our stay truly special and heartfelt was the personal and individualized service from the owners and staff. They made us feel truly special and went well above our expectations for our stay. This level of care and service, without being overbearing, is regretfully becoming a lost art and it is so much appreciated when found and experienced. We had a lovely stay!
Briggs P — Google review
While Karl, the owner, is very kind and welcoming, and we enjoyed our stay overall, there are areas for improvement, especially at this price point. We selected this property based on the photos on booking(dot)com, but all the rooms that were available looked differently. Some specific issues include: *High humidity in the room, likely due to NO ventilation in the bathroom, causing moisture to spread. *Only two power outlets in the room, which made it difficult to charge all phones and cameras after a full day. *Limited amenities: no kettle, coffee machine, or hairdryer provided (hairdryer can be requested) On a positive side: *Attractive and well-maintained decor. *Good quality breakfast. *Convenient location. *Clean and tidy throughout.
Steve A — Google review
Great hotel, can’t say enough good things, the staff were amazing. Priscilla and Karl were great hosts, they were very accommodating to our needs and went out of their way to make our stay special. The rooms are very homey, the place is very clean and has everything you can need. It also overlooks the virgin waterfall.
Toyin J — Google review
Of 10 different places I stayed in Ecuador, this was my favorite. The waterfall view, peaceful energy and great breakfasts were all big pluses. Everything in town was very walkable, yet located off the main street their location is quiet.

This place is amazing! The staff took very good care of us. Thank you! We love the big yard, the outdoor seating area was so nice including the swing, mountain views, and comfortable rooms. Stayed here for a couple days while in Baños. It is clean and comfortable with good internet access. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the city center, but to have the extra space, beautiful grounds and extra parking was worth it. Continental breakfast was provided in the morning with the hotel fare. Our host was very gracious and she made some very tasty bread to go with our coffee. 😋

This was a good choice. The people there were very nice and the view was beautiful. The room was very clean, we were impressed with the cleaning and how nice everything was. Nothing was old and outdated. We got the lovers suite a week after Valentine's day. The dogs there were nice and we thought the included breakfast was wonderful. There seemed to be a lot of travelers there from different parts of the world as we are breakfast. We will probably return when we visit again.

We stayed at Inti Luna for two weeks while in Banõs. It was a great place for us to relax and an easy walk into town (10-12 mins)! Blanca & Julio were exceptional hosts who did everything to make our stay comfortable! They were great to talk to and practice our Spanish with! Breakfast was easy, traditional and tasty every day! If you wanted something off their afternoon menu they were happy to accommodate, their pizza was my favorite as the crust was much like a sourdough crust! The rooms were clean, comfortable and the water was hot (which was so nice for me)! Our pictures aren’t the best but will include for reference of the rooms! Thank you for the stay, we would absolutely stay again when we come back to Banõs!

Beautiful little hotel in a great location, so much to see and do in Banos! Breakfast was amazing and we were well taken care of by the staff. They were also very accommodating to us when we requested to change rooms. Would definitely stay here again!!
Laura S — Google review
We had booked 3 nights but changed hotels after the first sleepless night. The hotel is good compared to Bano's standards, pretty and clean. We had a spacious superior room unfortunately a bit worn out, e.g., the mattresses were of varying quality and age. The typical simple windows and fly screens make everything very noisy, and noise from outside is not blocked out at all. During the day, you will be constantly bombarded with music and artificial animal noises from the nearby theme park until 10 p.m. Dogs bark all the time at night and from 6:30 a.m. the school directly behind the hotel turns up the music in the yard to full volume in addition to the usual noises of a school. The noise is nothing the hotel can do anything about, but we need to sleep and recharge. Otherwise the staff makes an effort and is friendly. Unfortunately, they were understaffed at breakfast when we visited and had a bit of trouble keeping up with the rush. We also had a problem with the design of the shower in our bathroom, which was in the bathtub, but without a shower cubicle. As a result, the bathroom was completely flooded with every shower. all of our things were wet. The staff told us no one had reported this before - unbelievable. We also found it a big problem dealing with the room keys, which were collected in a small box on the reception desk, accessible to everyone and not under observation of the staff. There is no safe in the room, and no liability is assumed... we find it difficult. All in all nice, but with no-gos from our pov. We would not come back. *** Follow up to the response of the hotel below 5 days after we published this review: the hotel argued that I have spoken to the management about the noise - this is not true. The hotel also argued that they have made recommendations towards us about alternative accommodations that suit our needs, and this is also not true. We never claimed the noise issue since it is nothing the hotel can change. I also didn't know the hotel "perfectly" from 2 nights in 2019. Obviously, the surrounding of the hotel had changed. I kindly asked the hotel directly to stick to the truth when responding to customer feedback since this corresponds with respect for each other, but sadly, they didn't even answer.

The only downside: for the price and since it is advertised everywhere including their name, we were surprised upon arrival to learn that the spa services (massage, hot tub..) weren't available on weekdays.

Homey place to sleep with GREAT service. We arrived late and were received warmly by Fabian who gave us a place to park our car inside closed gates. He also gave us very good recommendations of activities and places to visit in the town. Clean and tidy with a great breakfast. Very grateful for our stay here :)

I was sick when I arrived (had a bad allergic reaction from a meal elsewhere) and the woman running the place took great care of me, bringing me tea in bed and ensuring my allergies were respected when I had breakfast the next day. A cute location, great people!

One word amazing! Had a horrible night at another place and came here Susie took care of us breakfast was spectacular bedroom phenomenal View awesome and price was very reasonable. Don't forget the saunas and the spa they were fully relaxing. 100 out of 100 .

It is very beautiful and clean an many small touches that make it cozy. But for the price on your breakfast buffet Bacon and potatoes are the standard and the dinner buffet should be better then fried chicken filets. The food options very disappointing for the exorbitant price. That being said the hosts and staff are very nice and accommodating but they could not get the fire place going.

So many places to choose from in Banos and I hit the jackpot with this place. It's away from the downtown area so it's quiet at night, the decor is outstanding and it's located right beside a great hike up the mountain. The staff are incredible too. If you go, make sure you take advantage of the steam bath. I loved it.

Hostal La Casa del Molino Blanco is a casual hostel located in Banos de Agua Santa, Ecuador, at the base of the Tungurahua Volcano. The hostel offers relaxed dorms and private rooms with amenities such as a terrace, BBQ area, and free breakfast. It is committed to sustainable energy with wind generators and solar panels. Guests can enjoy onsite massages, a garden, complimentary Wi-Fi access, and adventure activities like rafting and mountain biking.
I couldn't have asked for a better stay. This is by far the best hostel I stayed in while in Ecuador. The staff were very kind and helpful, breakfast was always delicious, and the room was beautiful, clean, and quiet. My private room even came with my own little patio. Be prepared to walk uphill from the city center, but it's worth it to be away from the noise. The photo I included is the view over the garden wall.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel! If you're looking for a hostel that is a little more relaxed, then this is the place for you. The breakfasts were slightly different every day as well as delicious and inexpensive. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. The wifi worked well. The excursions provided through the hostel were fantastic. They were run directly by locals rather than the pricey travel agencies in town. Highly recommend doing the rafting and canyoning excursions.

The most beautiful hostel I've ever been to. The dorm room is spacious, the beds are amazing and I loved the duvets. The outside and upstairs common areas are really nicely done. Hammocks and lots of room to sit. The atmosphere is amazingly calm and the street is super safe. Plus you can hike up the god stairs right outside the hostel. It is located perfectly. You walk down one street which takes like 2 minutes and then you're in the center. Which is nice cause at night when you don't want the trouble anymore, you will have calmness and just singing birds. Everything gets cleaned everyday and there is a hot working shower. Nice big bathrooms too. The breakfast is amazing and a loooot, so you will definitely be stuffed. The staff is just amazingly nice, I loved them and it felt like a home with two moms. Definitely stay here when you're in baños. Oh and this hostel is completely powered by reusable energies!

So friendly staff. They even organise all kinds of tours for you at better prices than other companies! They provide towels, water, bathing cap... All activities were as well all very fun and well organized. Definitely recommend the waterfall tour by bike and rafting l. Ooh yeah great breakfast (one of the best in South-America) Rooms were nice and got cleaned daily. Laundry a bit expensive, recommend doing that in the city.

Very much our favourite hostel. Not only are the rooms pretty, the bathrooms very clean and the common area nice to hang out - but also the people working there are such lovely personalities. They make you feel welcome and help you out with every question or need. We regretted from the moment we left, not staying longer. 100% recommend!

Very clean, beautiful hostel. Best breakfast I've ever had in a hostel. It is located a bit outside of the town center (10 min max walking) so it's nice and quiet during the night. Very attentive hostess. :)

A relaxed stay at a lovely small hostel that I would be happy to return to. I have to give a huge shoutout to Joanna who absolutely makes the place - she works so hard, from breakfast to cleaning to answering our never ending questions about activities and taxis and even barbers. She cares for the guests nearly as much as her sweet children, she is a beautiful person and deserves a tonne of recognition. As for the house, just 10-15 mins walk from the centre of Baños, it’s easy to get to everything while being in a quiet area for good sleep. The garden is lovely for hanging out in a hammock and socialising with the other guests. The private bedroom I had was spacious and comfortable, and I could have it cleaned every day if I wanted. The bathrooms are kept very clean, though they could do with another one or at least one separate toilet for when the house is full - they feel big enough to be able to split them into two. Breakfast is nice, varied and a filling start to the day. I did find that it got quite loud at times - noise travels easily because it’s a small building and the layout is very open, eg the front door to the garden is kept open all the time and they don’t have a door to shut the kitchen & dining area away. As someone sensitive to noise, I had to hide away in my room a bit to have some space, I don’t think I would’ve managed in the dorm room being right next to the garden. But having other guests in an intimate place like that also made for a fun and sociable few days which I’m grateful for, and overall it was the best hostel during my time in Ecuador.

The staff is super friendly and fun. Helped us book some ziplining and rafting tours. The room is comfortable. The bathroom is exceptionally clean. Breakfast was yummy, but a bit pricey. Also, I was sad, as there was no German bread (as has been mentioned in some reviews). Still a lovely place!

The wellness hotel, Hostal Casa Real Spa, offers a superb stay with its spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The staff is extremely friendly, especially the owner Luis, who provides exceptional service. Situated in Banos, the location is perfect for exploring the area. The breakfast is delightful and the hotel boasts beautiful views. Highly recommended for an enjoyable experience in Ecuador's best service hotel. Looking forward to returning for a longer stay next time!
The hotel is super well located, beautiful and with the most amazing host I have ever had in a hotel. Luis was just so friendly, helped us so much in finding good attractions like festivals in some villages he sent us to, restaurants and any other thing we might need. He made sure to always welcome us to the hotel with a smile, greeting and a small talk. Just an amazing guy. The spa was really nice to use, and having a balcony with a hammock in front of the waterfall is just all you could need. Breakfast was amazing as well. The only thing I can complain about is the fact that sometimes it took some time for the hot water to come out and not enough places for hanging in the shower room.

It was a wonderful and relaxing stay. The owners are amiable, and the breakfast was excellent, with various options. The room was as advertised and, of course, clean. What a amazing place and great staff. So helpful and enjoyed the facilities so much and even a yoga space. Great rooms and clean. You could chill out in your own hammock. The hostel provides room service, parking facilities, and boasts stunning mountain views. Guests can also enjoy hiking activities nearby. The property features rooms with kitchens for added convenience. It is conveniently located near the bus terminal, making it easy to access various excursions.
Accommodating staff. We're paying $15/night which is a bit high. We are staying here for 4-7 days and found it's proximity to things good. The rooms are clean.
Von — Google review
Had the opportunity to stay here and at d'mathias next door. The bed is decent, you get two large pillows, the room is a bit bigger and the bathroom is a little better. But what you gain with a bit of comfort you pay in customer service. These people are awful. Every time I had to talk with them it was as if I was bothering them. It took 30 hours for them to clean my laundry and it was half folded. There was trash in the hallway. It appears that they only have 1 housekeeper while everyone else sits near the desk with their feet up. The kitchen was pretty dank and I never used it, because of its cleanliness. Not impressed.
Jason S — Google review
Pros: lovely and helpful staff (specially Miria, who I guess is the owner) and they have a sweet beautiful siberian husky called Max. The hostal is located right across the street from the bus terminal, every room has private shower, has a good kitchen, the room and beds are fine, offers you tours. Cons: showers will not stay warm for long if other people are having shower at the same time, almost non-existing wifi (although they were trying to fix it), do not look under the beds (they are not clean at all).
Diego S — Google review
Rooms are small, beds are not so comfortable, service is not so nice. Internt is weak. The kitchen is well equipped. The location is ok, but its such a small town so its that important.

(Translated by Google) I booked two nights in a private room for some friends for €30 a night (she wrote it down in her notebook). The next day when they arrived, they raised the price for one of the nights because it was New Year's Eve. The owner lied to me, and I feel offended.
Gorka L — Google review
(Translated by Google) I stayed for one night; the price was relatively good for the area. The rooms are small, and the towels were quite worn. Something important to keep in mind is that since it's downtown, there's a lot of noise at night from the passing of bus buses and other activities in the area. I went by car, and I was charged separately for parking (which is a bit far away). For an additional fee, you can have breakfast prepared, which was good.
Washington R — Google review
(Translated by Google) Unpleasant experience, poor security. I lost a pair of $250 headphones at their hotel, and their response was that they wouldn't be responsible for items lost in the room, which is why we have to bring our belongings. It's worth noting that I was going on a jungle tour and didn't bring them for the same reason: that they might get lost, since they're quite small. You're supposed to pay a hotel to leave your belongings safe and secure without fear of them getting lost or stolen. (The only ones who have keys are them and the guests, and we didn't lose them.) Another thing worth noting is that they don't clean the rooms. We were there for two days and one night, and at no point did they change our towels or provide us with toiletries.

5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Absolutely amazing stay! This hostel had the perfect mix of chill vibes and social atmosphere. The space was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. What really made it stand out, though, were the people— The receptionist Mishell and the bar staff Miguel and Tony at the bar were absolute legends! Super friendly, fun, and always made sure everyone was having a great time. The drinks were great, the music was on point, and they created such a welcoming vibe. The hostel staff were also fantastic—helpful, kind, and really made it feel like a home away from home. Couldn’t recommend this place more—I'll definitely be coming back!

Such an incredible place for an unbeatable price, but what makes this place stand out is the exceptional staff. Michelle, the receptionist, is great at scheduling every activity for you no matter how last minute. Highly recommend and will come back!

We stayed in a 6 man dorm room. Unfortunately the room was v uncomfortable. It was incredibly small for 6 people, no room to move. Only 4 lockers were useable. My top bunk had no ladder and was not an easy climb. The room also had two walls of windows looking out onto the square, very noisy and bright. We only stayed one night before moving. The rooftop bar is nice but is also open to the public so the vibe wasn't really social hostel. Staff were good though and let us cancel.

That kind of a price, for a room with an own bathroom, breakfast included and an amazing service from Michelle, is amazing. She books every activity for you and also the rooftop bar is so chill and cool! I am definitely recommending going into this Hostel!

When we arrived, we were given a different room than we booked. We had to make do with what we had until the next day. Facilities were fine, nothing was spotless, but it wasn’t gross either. The rooftop bar was adorable, my friends and I had a great evening hanging out there. Location is also great, just a few minutes away from where everything’s happening!

Nestled in the mountains of Banos de Agua Santa, Deluxe Volcan offers a luxurious stay with stunning views of the city, waterfalls, and mountains. The lodge features 4 uniquely decorated guestrooms, each equipped with indoor private spa tubs and Smart televisions. Guests can enjoy the peaceful ambiance to recharge while being just a short taxi ride away from the city. The manager/owner is known for their warm hospitality and attentiveness to guests' needs.
My husband and I stayed here a couple nights on the Baños portion of our Ecuador trip and were really impressed with the service and of course the amazing view! The manager is very helpful and always assisted us bringing things up and down the stairs. There was an assortment of things in the mini bar to purchase which was convenient. The bed is very comfortable and the blinds make it dark enough to sleep in after a night out on the town. The jet tub is wonderful, perfect place to relax and admire the view. Also, you are served homemade breakfast in a basket each morning - super cute. The only down sides are that the power will go out and if it’s after midnight they can’t run the compressors (which makes sense). Also, the hot water is inconsistent. However these inconveniences don’t take away from the overall experience. If I’m ever in Baños again I would certainly stay again. A beautiful and unique experience!
Stevie R — Google review
Probably the best view in the city of Baños, Ecuador – absolutely breathtaking. The owner pays attention to every detail and is always available to help, even with general tourist information not related to the hotel. He is a respectful, kind, and very helpful man. Deluxe Volcán was a dream experience from the welcoming with a drink, the location and majestic views, outstanding customer service, the quality of finishes in the room, comfort and details this was a definite 5 star experience. I can’t wait to go back. I highly recommend it!
Martha F — Google review
The hotel room was beautiful and the service was superb. You have a clear view of the Tungurahua volcano. The manager was very helpful and answered all of the questions we had and helped us coordinate transportation. The hotel is up the mountain so it's not in the center of Baños, but if you want a magnificent view the distance is worth it. I would definitely return to Deluxe Volcan for another visit.
Brittany S — Google review
The manager/owner is super welcoming and nice. They help you with your bags to the room, show you around and make you comfortable. The rooms are beautiful and have a view to die for. The location is spectacular but well away from city and difficult to get in and out of, so know if you want to come and go it is a process. There is a perfect jacuzzi that overlooks Banos in your room. The place is a five out of five other than a few minor fixes they could implement quickly. One they need to stock more toilet paper in the rooms, no one likes to ask. The power kept going off at night which would turn on two flood lights directly pointed at the bed and wake you up and it was tough to get the jacuzzi water hot enough to make it a jacuzzi. Privacy is a bit of a concern as we could see in our neighbors if we opened our door. All in I highly recommend Deluxe Vulcan as a place to stay for a beautiful view.

Backpackers Balcones River Lodge is an amazing destination for individuals seeking adventure, budget-conscious travelers, backpackers, and those who appreciate a relaxed pace. It also caters to visitors interested in city sightseeing or simply catching a glimpse of the magnificent peaks in the Andes mountain range. Offering excellent value and flexibility from its owner, this hostel provides stunning river views and a peaceful atmosphere despite being slightly distant from town.
Really nice hostel outside the town with great views. There are lots of room options and plenty of kitchens. Some rooms have a private kitchen and toilet so something for everyone. $1.5-2 to get to the town centre, the owner also provides transport when required. Loads of activities in the area, definitely worth a visit.

Owner is very rude and doesnt seem to care at all about his customers. We also had a reservation with breakfast which he refused to give us because it was a "mistake" by hostelworld. View at the back is beautiful but I would recommend staying somewhere else and just come to have a look at the view.
Mike M — Google review
As mentioned this hostel is close to the river and has good views of it. It is not always the cleanest since the owner uses Workaway volunteers solely for cleaning, besides himself. He does scrub himself to keep things clean. The rooms are small but very cheap. Manuel is constantly building onto his hostel so there’s always the sound of construction on site. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. Older solo women beware, though, the owner is single and is looking for romance. There are dogs all around the area.
Ellen J — Google review
We had our own small pantry kitchen in our room which was nice, but it didn't have any towels to dry cutlery and the oven didn't work. Wi-Fi was either slow or not working at all and the whole site was under construction giving it an awful look from outside. The view was nice though and the prices were cheap, but it's located quite far from the city center, so expect to take cabs quite often, especially at night
Matthias L — Google review
The rooms were fine and the kitchen was fine. No complaints about the main things. However, we found the daily maintenance and cleaning to be lacking. The trash in the bathroom was FULL to the top when we arrived and wasn't emptied until 2 days later. Also, the shower has no door or curtain so the bathroom floor gets very dirty and wet after a shower. For the price it's a good deal if daily maintenance was done.... DAILY!

Great value, owner flexible, great river views, suoer quiet if a bit out of town. Stored bikes securely for us . Great kitchen / room facilities
Chris C — Google review
Located next to the river in the middle of nature, 15 minutes walk from city center. Quiet environment, perfect to relax. Kitchen well equiped. Cozy rooms. Owner is not so friendly. You can book an adventure here or hire a bike (5$).
Amelieke B — Google review
Super laid back, comfortable and quiet. Great value. Located just outside of town yet close enough for convenience. Water is sometimes not available in the morning so be sure to take your shower in the evenings.

Nestled on the outskirts of Banos, Montano Camping & Hostel is a delightful and budget-friendly retreat perfect for travelers seeking comfort without breaking the bank. This cozy spot features clean rooms equipped with free WiFi and TVs, ensuring a pleasant stay. Guests can enjoy spacious accommodations along with convenient amenities like a kitchenette and fridge. The hostel also boasts an inviting outdoor area ideal for camping enthusiasts, complete with charging outlets and relaxing hammocks.
What a great and affordable place to stay at and with a lovely family. I ended up staying for 10 nights. The rooms are bright, spacious and clean, has several beds and also a desk. The shared bathrooms are separate for men and women and also very clean and has 24 hour nice hot shower. I like the location of the place, especially because it feels like you are half in the nature and half in the town with only 8 minutes walk to the city centre. It has nice views on the surrounding mountains and the Tungurahua volcano which you can admire from the cozy outdoor seating area and hammocks. It also has a well-equipped kitchen, with fridge, microwave everything you need. You can also asked to be dropped off or picked up from/by the bus when you are entering/leaving Baños. I highly recommend to stay here!

A very comfortable place where the back packer is very happy. Close to city center, spacious rooms, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen. The host Fabrizio, helped me organize the trip to the Tugurahua volcano. I had a great stay ! Thank you Fabrizio and the team!

we (european backpacker couple) had a FANTASTIC time at Montano Hostel!! only positive things come to my mind when i think about this place! extremely welcoming, friendly and generous manager (Fabricio) who speaks english and spanish. very relaxing common areas. fully equipped kitchen. towels were included. hot water shower. great wifi. and overall everything works as it should. would definitely return, highly recommend this place to any relaxed traveler!! thanks again for everything!

Had an awesome stay here back in July. Such a lovely spot to enjoy Banos and chill out. Nice shared facilities for cooking and outside dining. Just a short walk into the town and 5 minutes from a food store. The owner was super helpful and had lots of information about hiking trails and other things to do in the area.
George C — Google review
We arrived here along our bicycle tour and absolutely loved it! There was a covered area for tent and bikes with outlets for charging and comfortable hammocks. Other campers there were lovely folks. The kitchen was well stocked, wifi was fast, restrooms and showers were nice and the walk to the center was easy. It was really great to have the peacful short distance from the center with epic views of the mountains. Fabricio was such a wonderful host - he was SO welcoming and helpful. 100% recommended.
Rose N — Google review
One of my best hostel in South America! The atmosphere is really chill and nice, there is a nice view from the garden, the kitchen is big and convenient, it's clean, and Fabricio the owner is so sweet! If I come back to Baños someday I'll stay there for sure!
Caroline P — Google review
Spend two nights at this hostel and I’m really impressed by how Fabricio runs this place. The kitchen is clean and well equipped. He remembered our names immediately and tried to play some music from our home country, which was a nice gesture. We also received great recommendations and help with bike rental.
Mikkel H — Google review
I stayed here with my husband and we could not have been happier with the place and with the service we received from the owners. They are incredibly helpful, kind and friendly people and made sure our stay was fantastic. Upon arriving we were offered a free room upgrade which we were more than happy to accept! Throughout our stay, the owners were very attentive and helpful. When we checked out, the offered to hold our bags for free and allowed us to hang around the hostel as long as we wanted. This was an amazing place to stay, with a perfect location and amazing views of Baños and the surrounding area. I highly recommend staying here if you come to Baños!

Banos is home to the Volcano Hotel, which offers stunning views of the mountains and a cascading waterfall. The relaxed hotel also features a country-style restaurant, terrace, and outdoor pool. Guests can enjoy free breakfast.
Beautiful hotel with a great location just below the waterfall. The rooms are stunning and the hot tub was great to relax in at the end of the day, the value for the price is outstanding. The most exceptional trait however was the care, Carlos Sr and Carlos Jr were both gracious, friendly hosts who went above and beyond, even giving me a ride to the bus terminal when I had asked for a taxi service. Very kind people.
Brianne M — Google review
We stayed only one night so didn't get to experience the beautiful pool or hot tub, however we were impressed with the service - the owner got up early and greeted us before we went off birdwatching for the morning. We returned for a lovely breakfast and then were off again. We recommend this beautiful hotel in the vacation town of Banos.
Cilla C — Google review
This is a beautiful stay inn place. A bit older rooms and bathrooms. Overall, its an affordable stay. Its a beautiful place and very closer to pailon del diablo waterfall and other fun activities in Banos.
Anu A — Google review
Stayed here this past weekend. Really nice accommodations, with a hot tub and a pool. Honestly I had a really nice stay all around, but I will say the most impressive thing was how generous and accommodating the staff was. If I come back to Baños, I will definitely stay here, and recommend it to my friends.
Chan — Google review
This rating is based on the alternatives in Banos. It is a very touristy town. The areas and nature Adobe it are great. The town itself...Not so much. The hotel is located far enough off the main drag that noise is not an issue. However it is close enough that you can walk to everything. Our room had a large outdoor space and a great view. The beds are comfortable but in the small size. The bathroom is small, dated, and leaves something to be desired. WiFi was spotty in our room and slow. Breakfast s included with the room and was good. It included waffles, eggs, fruit, juice, yogurt, and more.
Jeremy S — Google review
Where would you like me to start? From rats on the terrace to rusty showers to rules forbidding alcohol no swimming without shower cap it was not an enjoyable place to stay. The reason it gets 3 stars from me is the location and view definitely not the hotel itself
Joe M — Google review
Nice hotel, the staff was friendly. We rented the family room that allowed 5 of us to sleep comfortable in a total of 3 beds. It's a fun experience.

I loved this place because the attention to clients is excellent, you're surrounded by nature and you can see the waterfall behind the hotel, with in walking distance to the main plaza, where you can access to all the different tours.

La Petite Auberge is a charming hotel located on the border of downtown, just a short walk from the baths. The simply furnished rooms come with bathrooms and free Wi-Fi. The beautiful colonial home features lovely gardens, hammocks, and an open-air sitting area. The back courtyard and garden create a relaxing atmosphere with a Tiki bar vibe. Guests can enjoy the sounds of frogs in the evening and cozy up by the fireplaces in their rooms on chilly nights.
I stumbled across this place years ago, walking the streets of this beautiful town with my son. I call it the secret garden. I always feel loved and welcomed here and it’s like staying with family. Their breakfast are so delicious and they even have room with fireplaces!
Wendy J — Google review
I absolutely love la Petite Auberge. Clean, beautiful gardens, and lovely people.
Jose E — Google review
The location is perfect, everything in Baños is walkable so we enjoyed been near almost everything. The downside is that the room smell like dust, although the sheets where clean. We couldn’t shower properly cause they had issues with the boiler.
David C — Google review
Very cool loft rooms. Very quaint and lush. The fireplace was a nice touch in our room on a cold night. Water pressure and temperature were wonderful. (Made for a great shower). It was a pleasure to stay at this attractive little property.
Scott J — Google review
I absolutely loved my stay here. The garden and breakfast space were beautiful, staff were so kind and helpful, and the rooms were very clean. I really appreciated the relaxing atmosphere, separate from the noise and energy of Baños. It was all so wonderful — I didn’t want to leave!
Samantha S — Google review
Very nice spot and beautiful courtyard/garden in the back. It is kind of like a giant Tiki bar sort of vibe. The gardens on this property will surely impress and sounds of the frogs in the evening is lovely. There are fireplaces in the room as well for those chilly nights. By looking at the map it seems like it is a ways out of town but Banos is tiny, it is about a two minute walk to the town centre. Prices were very reasonable ($32/night for two people in a private room with private bath). Hot water worked all the time and they have cheap breakfast and reasonable beers if you want to just chill out for an evening!
Derik L — Google review
Pretty average. Our room was damp (that might just be Baños though), WiFi only in the lobby, breakfast is good and cheap and they did allow us to store our bags and shower before our night bus.
Gregorio G — Google review
There was incredibly loud music from the next building. The management could not do anything. We couldn't sleep a single minute. Spoilt a whole day of my trip. I wish I had chosen a different hotel to stay in.

Playita Salomon was an ideal choice for families seeking a peaceful retreat near downtown Banos. It offered a serene atmosphere, away from the bustling city, with breathtaking views of the river and cliffs. The accommodations were immaculate, and the staff provided exceptional service, making guests feel welcome and supported throughout their stay. The swimming pool served as a tranquil spot to unwind, while unexpected amenities like a soccer field added to the overall appeal.
Very good service. The rooms are clean and breakfast is on point. The swimming pool is a very relaxing part of this accommodation. The staff took care of our bags and brought them up or down the hill! The staff is very kind and helpfully.
Sjoerd H — Google review
Nice place with a good breakfast. Only downsides are not very warm shower and a very steep and narrow road to reach the center. Upsides are the pools (if the weather is warm) and the big parking.
Matteo S — Google review
I booked this hotel over a week ago, only to be told on arrival that there are no rooms available. This is not good enough. It doesn't take much for an email to say sorry, we are fully booked. This shows a lack of respect.
J G — Google review
There is a very steep entry that isn’t very safe to travel up and down. Video they provide seems a bit misleading. You need a 4x4 or Manuel car to drive up and down the steep road to access the location / city. Staff is friendly but the folks in charge aren’t honest to their word , they tell you one price and then change the price and justify it by saying you heard wrong. Plus the taxis they offer are suppose to charge you $1.5 during the day and $2 at night but at the time of the ride they change the fare. The big pool is very cold , the small pool is suppose to be warm but was not and was a bit dirty. The young lady in the front is very nice and it isn’t her fault for the business flaws. Not kid friendly.
Rachelle P — Google review
Playita Salomom was perfect for my family. A short taxi ride to downtown Banos, with none of the city noise. The river and cliffs were beautiful. The pool was nice and the soccer field was totally unexpected. The rooms were clean and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

We stayed there for two nights and loved it. Conveniently located within walking distance from the bus station and right in the city centre. Room was spacious and spotless clean. The hostel was quiet. Breakfast was delicious and very generous! Staff were really helpful, advising us to organise our activities. We would certainly recommend it!

Place was nice, location a bit noisy, difficult to sleep at night. Staff were friendly. However $30 dollars went missing from my room and we didn't get to who took it. Unsure how this happened and do not want to blame the staff, they said they had not been in my room. If this had not happened I would have given them 4 stars.
