Some of the food vendors rip you off if you dont pay up front. The hygiene is really disgusting and the hot food is over priced compared to a restaurants. Nasty vendors treat tourist very badly. Avoid.

Stall #33 does the best roast pork in the market. After spending 2 weeks in Baños I found myself returning to them over and over again.It may look simple but taste it, it’s incredible

Love this market, great place to get local food/juice for lunch in Baños for a cheap price and there’s plenty to choose from. They’re very quick too. If you’re game you can try the guinea pig here at the restaurant out front.

Good food and nice people

The food was delicious but the atmosphere insufficient. The restaurant was really cold, we even had to wear our coats whilst eating. No candles or firewood on. Could improve. Many vegetarian options with SEITAN, like vegetarian pad Thai, 2 vegetarian curries, vegetarian nasi goreng, we loved it!

We had a blast! The food is very fresh. We had the ginger hot tea and it is amazing. Silvia was wonderfully attentive and the atmosphere warm and inviting. Highly recommend!

Great food and great service. In addition to herb crusted lemon chicken I had one of their amazing juice smoothies; the Super C ( passion fruit, alfalfa, citrus). Staff speaks English and Spanish. Great decor and musicians stop in every so often to just play 1-2 songs.

Very quiet and relaxed place, it's homeade food, taste good, it's no fast food you will have to wait a little bit. Humus it's great, you can order your food vegetarian or with meat. One of the top places in baños.

Wow! Just amazing good food, all served by very nice staff. All ingredients taste fresh and their salsa picante did remind me of the spicy salsas you get in the very best TexMex restaurants in Tx. I’ve eaten several “almuerzo’s” so far and a few times from the menu. All is just superb. I enjoyed the NasiGoreng a lot. I hadn’t had a really good tasting NasiGoreng in years. I keep going back to this place. On top of all that, I love it when they fire up the fire place on a chilly rainy day. PS no plastic bottles used at all. They’re very environmental oriented.

The food is delicious – especially the desayuno de la casa 🤤👌 The café itself is very cozy, with good music and plugs next to every (!) table, which is great if you want to work there. The only complaint is that the seats are often not cleaned after previous customers (full of crumbs, stains, etc.)

Amazing Ecuadorian coffee. Very happy to find specialty coffee shop with pour over(if i remember what i ordered correctly). And the cake was also delicious.

Very solid cafe! Professional baristas/waiters, very clean, the food has always been great when I have visited Baños. It can get very busy and the space is a little tight, but that's because it is a popular cafe. Overall: great customer service, great food and coffee, the space is a little tight but this cafe is consistently high quality.

Great hostel for individuals or groups. Love the rooftop terrace with great view of the waterfall and old church. Good food, only breakfast is not included. Staff speak English well and we're very accommodating. I stay at this hotel just about every time I visit Baños. I recommend it!

I like it. The bedrooms are clean, the bathrooms and common areas are very good and the people working here are very helpful and friendly. They helped me to get very good prices for tours, for example we bought an amazing tour of paragliding for only 55$. What I didn't like is that most of the windows have some kind of garage safety door that they close in the evening and open at 10ish in the morning. It's very hard to wake up early since the rooms are really dark before 10. Also there is no good air-condition and the room climate gets kinda dry.

A beautiful hostel in a great location in Banos. The place is very clean with comfortable rooms and exceptional staff. There is also a gorgeous rooftop terrace with a kitchen and Healthy breakfasts available. They have a restaurant attached as well which has a very cool atmosphere (fireplace) and good food. Highly recommend staying here, easily one of my favourite hostels in South America.

Huge hostel. A bit too big for me to create a nice atmosphere, though. Staff were incredibly helpful. Cheap laundry. Chill out area and rooftop are quite nice. Beds made daily and towels available to change when needed. Good place to stay!

If you want a place to be social and crash after a night of partying, this might be a good place for you. Otherwise, its not great. The walls are thin so I could hear conversations from the hall and lots of traffic noise from the street. Its located right in the middle of town, so good for coming back from bars but not good if you want to sleep, especially on a Saturday night. I also found that the bathrooms weren’t very clean or well-stocked. However, there is a really nice rooftop space to hang out and the breakfast was excellent.

The hostel was overall good. Staff was nice and friendly. We did the bike water fall tour and it was fun. They also have all the amenities you might need from a hostel ( games room, Netflix, computer, bar, kitchen and you can pay for breakfast). It's a bit of a party hostel but we had no trouble going to bed early on the first floor.

Had the pasta nina with lemonade, wife had pancakes. Was a good meal, place was nice, and service good. Maybe other stuff on menu is better but overall it was good solid meal

An alternative place to eat a sandwich, brown salads and desserts. The place is nice super cozy, the staff is super friendly. The service is fast and the food is pretty good. I had a salad, the dressings are mayonnaise-based, they could improve a little with olive oil and some vinegar. The coffee was very good. The only place where I really had an Italian style espresso

Wanted to go in for a quick bite, had the best food ive had in ecuador so far. Realllyy tasty pasta. The service was also really good and you really get good food for your money (its pretty cheap). I can only recommend!

This was the second best breakfast we had in Ecuador. I recommend the traditional option. This place is very popular and breakfast well made. Blackberry juice was delicious.

I returned for another meal today and it was even better than I remembered. The wonderful meal cost a total of $3.50 2023: Service was fast and lunch was great. From the juice to the soup and plate it was all good.

My favorite place in Baños to get a meal. The food is great and so is the service. It is located just next to the central park of Baños and being on the second floor, it has an amazing view of the city around it. If you're coming later in the day, I would definitely recommend going to their rooftop bar too. Love this place, and will definitely be back in the future!!

The passionfruit pork and chicken were amazing! We ended up coming here two nights in a row! They also have Canelazo which is a great warm drink on a cold rainy night :)

Beautiful small hotel in central Baños right next to the Thermal Waters. The hotel smells amazing and is really nicely decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is no elevator but they moved all of our luggage to the third floor for us. The room was simple but nice. The TV had terrible reception but we only watched it before bed. The breakfast buffet was wonderful.

This is a nice hotel in Baños, a lovely town - we wished we would have had more time to look around it. There is a stunning waterfall outside the hotel - at night it is lit up beautifully. The meal we got at the hotel restaurant was very delicious, especially the chocolate dessert. The restaurant itself had a fun "Alice in Wonderland" theme. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the pools or the spa.

Had a wonderful stay here while visiting Baños. Right away, there is a beautiful waterfall right across from the hotel entrance. The service is top notch 5 star. Both restaurants are delicious, as is the breakfast buffet. I also had a massage with Fernanda and it was amazing. I would highly recommend a visit.

I visited the hotel with my wife. Reservations were made via WhatsApp. Marlon helped us with that. The decorations were nice. There was some humidity on our bedroom wall. The SPA was great. The three course diner was awesome. The breakfast was good. Just take care of some small humidity on the bedroom walls. We will definitely visit you guys again.

I've stayed at Sangay since the early 80's, always amazing, incredible food and great service. Rooms are spacious and clean. It does get cold at night, requesting an extra blanket is recommended.

We stayed here 08/30/25. This hotel is definitely a bang for your buck. It might seem like you can get a place for cheaper at one of the “hospedajes” but unless you’re a backpacker and willing to rough it out I would definitely recommend spending the money here.

Our family stayed in this Hotel during out visit to Banos and had a great time. The rooms were good size and clean, with good wifi coverage. The restaurant was good, although a bit expensive for Ecuador but the food was very good. I had the Cuy Tacos....delicious and strongly recommend. Breakfast was also good.

Maybe the hotel is good, but the communication via WhatsApp is really poor. During my first attempt to reach them, I did not receive any response. Then I wrote from my other number and received an answer 6 hours later, almost at midnight. They never answer calls. I received the details to make the reservation, but I did not receive the amount.

The hotel is very clean and the staff are attentive. Breakfast is sufficient, and there is plenty to eat. The location is good and close to town. The one thing that really is off-putting is we were woken every morning by the school next door playing music or gaberling on from 7.00am. It really is annoying and not what I want at a hotel.

La Floresta is absolutely excellent. Not only the rooms but the restaurant for dinner & the breakfast were excellent too. The staff are super nice & speak English. They're very interested in helping & guiding us. The rooms, the beds & the showers are also very nice + the courtyard is 😍 The hotel even provides drinking water for their guests..I would come back any time..🤩🇨🇴😁👍

Very cute place but sometimes the showers and water don't work. The staff is great the rooms and bathrooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. There is a kitchen and drinking water. The location is good too. Close to everything. The only downfall is noise at night heard through the window if in a room by the road.

This place is rather cheap and well located. It is also noisy appears dingy, and is poorly lit. To save money, or to hide the unsightliness of the rooms, they use very low watt CFLs. I'm not sure it was unclean, but it looks unclean. They accept reservations with a credit card via their website, but can't charge credit cards. They are a cheap place to rest your head after a long day of adventure, but one should spend a couple more bucks and go somewhere better. It has no view. The staff while friendly enough, speaks no English, which is unusual for a large backpacker hostel. Did I mention the noise? The noise includes: the tour buses that blare music, car alarms, normal street noise, and late nigh verbal altercations. The courtyard and chiminea is nice, but could be beautiful and comfortable. They do have quick hot showers. If you're extremely budget minded stay here, but I would, and did, spend two more dollars for a place that has a swimming pool (too cold to use)and looks extremely clean.

The staff is not very nice, the trash was not changed, basic things... I do not expect a lot, but the minimum. The reception was not in the same building as our room. The street is noisy. We are having a private room with private bathrooms in a reasonable price, so it's worth it. It's five minutes walk for the center where all the restaurants are. Even though you have a coffee place right in front which is nice (the breakfast is not included), you have a massage place right in front that has a lof of offeres, two in 35$! There is a great agency called experience Ecuador and we loved it. (we did canyoning with a guide named Darvin, amazing tour guide).

If you want to eat pasta, do Not eat here. I ordered lasagna . when they gave me my lasagna I thought it was a kids portion size at $10 kind of expensive for Baños. They also give me two small Dry pieces of garlic bread which were cut by hand, I think. Also ordered a Mojito and they blend the mint leaves first . Cocktail looked like green spinach drink. Girlfriend ordered a pizza she was happy with her meal. As we wait 30 minutes for our meal. We could see the person grilling the frozen steaks and chicken breast. They grill their meats frozen.

Our burgers were fantastic, pizza was delicious and it was all very affordable. You know when the chef is on display at the front grilling the food that it's gonna be good! Thanks!

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the stay in that Cafe. The place is really nice and cozy and the atmosphere very calm and relaxing BUT...the Danish owner is annoying. Our drinks took long to prepare and were very expensive compared to the rest of baños cafes. 10$ for two non-alcoholic drinks...you have to beg for the Wi-Fi password and she then asks you if you plan on eating something. First I thought she was kidding but she was serious about that. My advice for her is to rethink her way of doing business and be more customer orientated in order to keep that nice place alive...

Has a great decor - both the sun outside and the cheerful vibe inside (and interesting English books to select from). Run by a Danish and Ecuadorean couple I think. The smoothies were a bit expensive but tasty at $5.50 for about 20oz (though I got charged $6 for mine).

Bread was AMAZING! Eggs delicious and perfectly cooked. Nice 100% fruit smoothies. Music was chill. Owner likes to have conversation and recommend things to do. However, the owner has a big personality. She kept talking about politics, how much money she makes per month and trip advisor when we were trying to relax and eat. We were nice and heard her out but it was a bit much. Might I recommend that she steer clear of these topics and try not to ask for reviews. Your food and smoothies will speak for themselves. It’s really a good restuarant but the owner is intense.

Food is overpriced and she is &extremely rude.I wished I had read the reviews beforehand and avoided such an awful experience. She should not be in the a costumer service role as she is rude, pushes you to buy food, complains about anything you do (we wanted to share the $9.50 breakfast), and she gave us a lesson on how good her food is and that we shouldn't be sharing, as the prices were right for the quality of food!! The food is only decent and is not worth the price. She kept coming to our table to tell us off about sharing or not having exact change. She even tried to charge us extra because we asked for an extra plate!!! Don't go here, if you don't want your morning/lunch ruined. I tried to tell her that she should change her attitude if she wants to keep her business going, and she just ignored me. One of the worst experiences to date.

Great place to relax in Banos! We walked in on a rainy day, the Chai latte (home made) was the best thing at that moment! Came back the next day for the sandwiches - indeed not the cheapest around but very good quality (ask for the homemade Danish bread!) and you get two which filled me up for the rest of the day. We enjoyed chatting with the owner - a really kind Danish lady who runs the place with her Ecuadorian husband. Indeed, as some reviews read you may not be in the mood for this so just make it known if that is the case;)

Came in the morning for some coffee and a banana nut muffin. I had such a great experience I came back in the evening for a sandwich. It's made with fresh wheat bread. Order the moccaccino you won't regret it! The owner is very pleasant and has many helpful tips.

Coffee was decent- it’s what we came in for. Organic, local, homemade (available throughout Ecuador) food is served and was pitched to us a few times. It is no doubt high in quality but is what you’d find in most local places (fruit smoothies, sandwiches) but at a higher price- maybe rent is higher and owner knows more than locals do. Please save your business, make some humble pie, and listen to everyone. I make my living running a food service business- While one customer may not be right, the majority probably are.

One of the best hot chocolates I've ever had, I would fully recommend the chocolate de la casa, and there's loads of other hot chocolate options too. The crepe with dulce de leche was perfect too and they didn't skimp on the dulce de leche.

Stopped in for an afternoon coffee. The almond cappuccino was good, albeit a little sweet. They have nice booths and cute swings as chairs for some tables. They don’t have WiFi, but I was there to journal my memories of my trip so far and no WiFi helped me focus.

This was such a cute place, while we waited for our food we went to explore the art gallery and the patio. The food was decent not extraordinary, on the other hand the service was poor, but I will give it another try.

They made a very good filter coffee during the electricity breakdown. Atmosphere is the best, there's also a nice garden and an art gallery. Highly recommended!

This is the best cafe in baños hands down. After sitting down in an oasis like open air garden, you are encouraged to check out the art gallery upstairs. The owners are extremely kind and treat you like family. And then the food! The pancake breakfast was the largest, freshest, tastiest breakfast I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t say enough about this place. It’s a must visit while in baños.

I’m certain that this is the best breakfast restaurant in Baños! The owners work really hard to provide exceptional service and food. I ate the special breakfast 2 days in a row. The avocado in the sandwich is seasoned perfectly! I have zero complaints.

Chicken Sandwich was super tasty. We got the Colibrí combo for $6. Granola and yogurt in the fruit was good. Juice is tasty and hot chocolate is made from steamed milk. Add your own sugar. The star is the sandwich and egg. Did a return visit. Very consistent. Must visit in Banos. There is nice setting and a gallery above to check out.

Great coffee and food in a pretty courtyard with a small garden and friendly staff. We saw hummingbirds here too. Close to the bus station so a good first stop in Baños after a bus journey.

For the early birds waking up to do activities in Banos this place is a short walk from the central square and should provide most people with a good tasting coffee to get your day started.
