Some of the food vendors rip you off if you dont pay up front. The hygiene is really disgusting and the hot food is over priced compared to a restaurants. Nasty vendors treat tourist very badly. Avoid.

Stall #33 does the best roast pork in the market. After spending 2 weeks in Baños I found myself returning to them over and over again.It may look simple but taste it, it’s incredible

Love this market, great place to get local food/juice for lunch in Baños for a cheap price and there’s plenty to choose from. They’re very quick too. If you’re game you can try the guinea pig here at the restaurant out front.

Good food and nice people

First of all, great coffee! Nice atmosphere, and the breakfast was delicious. The baristas are super professional, and if Sebastian makes your coffee you can be rest assured ;)

The food is delicious – especially the desayuno de la casa 🤤👌 The café itself is very cozy, with good music and plugs next to every (!) table, which is great if you want to work there. The only complaint is that the seats are often not cleaned after previous customers (full of crumbs, stains, etc.)

Amazing Ecuadorian coffee. Very happy to find specialty coffee shop with pour over(if i remember what i ordered correctly). And the cake was also delicious.

Delicious avocado toast and chicken avocado sandwich. Yummy desserts. Coffee was amazing. Our waitress was really nice.

Very solid cafe! Professional baristas/waiters, very clean, the food has always been great when I have visited Baños. It can get very busy and the space is a little tight, but that's because it is a popular cafe. Overall: great customer service, great food and coffee, the space is a little tight but this cafe is consistently high quality.

Always happy to come across a Swiss restaurant when you‘re from Switzerland! The Älplermagronen were delicious! Though it was my first time having them without potatoes. Also the decoration was thoughtful! A great spot for a taste of home!

The staff is very friendly and offers a nice service. You get very good, high quality food for a fair price. We absolutely liked our visit there and would definitly come back, if we ever go to Baños again. Also the decorations is thoughtful with milk churns as lamps and pictures of different parts of Switzerland and stuff. We both recommend this restaurant!

We waited more than an hour for the food and the waiter answered unfriendly when we asked how much longer we have to wait… the food was not more than „okay“. The Cordon Bleu was very dry and the beef was not too bad. The Berna Rösti was good, but nothing special. The music was too loud and did not help the ambiente. We are Swiss and we will not come back. It‘s not worth the money.

Probably the best food in Baños. Swiss Bistro is a mandatory stop every time we travel here. The trout is very nicely prepared.

Service was terrible, took 15 minutes to get the menu. Then, the waiter explained prices differently from what the menu stated. By the time he knew what the price of the meat fondue was we had alredy ordered the fried camembert entry. It's an 9$ dish that the waiter said was their speciality. Well... all we can say is that we don't want to try anything else if that's their speciality. Got served two small pieces of fried Camembert with a he'll of a lot of salad to fill the empty plate. By the way, fondue is $20 per person for 200g of tenderloin. Not worth it.

They have a real pizza oven! Delicious pizza and crust. We had the Leoni pizza and it was great. Note the grande size was more than enough for two people.

Had a pizza dinner, the pizza was one of the best we ate. The natural woods oven is doing an amazing good job and the owner creates the pizza’s dough by himself. Result in a true remarkable pizza.

I have been to Leoni Pizzeria in Quito and was satisfied with both their Pizza and pasta. I was happy to know that they have the same Pizzeria in Baños. I ordered their bruschetta, pepperoni pizza and mojito. I like the toast on their bruschetta snd the fresh toppings they used. This pizzeria is really good at preparing their thin crust pizza and the pepperoni pizza I got did not disappoint. I thought the mojita was a little light but then i was wrong after I finished it. So refreshing for Baños weather. The service was really good and the chef even stopped by to talk for a bit. The place accepts credit card. I came back the following day to order a bruschetta, pomodoro pasta and piña coloda. The pomodoro pasta was the best I’ve had comparing all the food I had at Leoni’s Quito and Baños.

THIS IS THE PLACE TO EAT!!! Delicious pizza, incredible desserts and a TRUE family atmosphere!! We visited Banos for several weeks and made many friends who work here. They will take VERY good care of you, and your entire family!

Yummy!! I think we ended up going pretty late at night and we got pizza. I got 1/2 Margarita and he got 1/2 something else. I can't remember. It was exactly what we were looking for at a very reasonable price and it hit the spot

We ordered the Philly roll, the Torched Salmon roll, chicken curry, and yakisoba. This place in Baños is really good. I have had a lot of sushi in Ecuador and most places are not good. This place is on par with Neo in Cuenca. Highly recommend!!! Also, they play great music and we played jenga while we waited for our food.

It is a jewel, the dishes are huge ideal for sharing. The service is slow but worth the wait. They open only dinner and it is better to go early at 19:30 maximum. Then you can't find a table and you have to wait a long time

Had the shrimp Gyoza and 10p salmon sushi roll. Gyozas were a bit smaller than I’m used to and the sushi rice lacked a bit of flavor (don’t think they used the correct mix of rice vinegar, mirin, salt and sugar to make it) but still a 5/5 experience :). No problem to enter with my dog either :)

Highly recommend this place for authentic tasting Japanese fusion food. Plenty of vegan / vegetarian options too. I had the vegan noodle soup (miso flavoured), my husband had the yakisoba noodles which were both amazing!

This place is epic. We stayed in Baños for 3 nights and went here 4 times (dinner, brunch, cocktails, then hot chocolate). The food is unique and delicious. Portion sizes are huge, so you could split one main for two, but after you try your first bite you wont want to share. The cocktails are also truly good (finally a not too sweet cocktail), each one prepared by hand with fresh ingredients. Finally, on our last night we were looking for a hot chocolate (it had gotten really cold) so we popped our heads in and asked if they had any. It's not on the menu but they ran to the store and whipped up a proper Ecuadorian hot chocolate that we all loved. The chef is really kind, speaks great English, on our first meal he came out to make sure we ordered what we wanted and then went back and cooked everything for us. We didn't try the sushi so can't comment on that. If you're in Baños definitely try this place.

We ejoyed Sushi rolls and the vegetarian indian currie. The value for money is really great here as the portions are big and the dishes are very flavourful. A special thank you to chef Mario and to Servio for his excellent attention! We really enjoyed the evening.

Very good local restaurant situated in a street corner facing the city center park. The view on the terraza on the second floor is just perfect with both city and mountain view. Good food, reasonable price, worth every cent!

I returned for another meal today and it was even better than I remembered. The wonderful meal cost a total of $3.50 2023: Service was fast and lunch was great. From the juice to the soup and plate it was all good.

My favorite place in Baños to get a meal. The food is great and so is the service. It is located just next to the central park of Baños and being on the second floor, it has an amazing view of the city around it. If you're coming later in the day, I would definitely recommend going to their rooftop bar too. Love this place, and will definitely be back in the future!!

One of the best vegetarian food restaurants I have eaten at. Prices are very reasonable, food is delicious, atmosphere is wonderful, inside and outside seating. This is a restaurant and not a hotel.

Some high and lowlights: We ordered the curry with pollo and for my gf with fish which was supposed to be the house special. Although the taste of the curry as such was good, the whole dish was a bit boring as it lacked vegetables and had only rice (a lot) with it an a bowl of curry. Then for desert we chose the banana split, the ice was very good, but the banana was frozen probably at same time as the ice: so uneatable. The red wine (Argentine) was amazing The waitress was kind and patient and serving us well, however, when we expressed our concerns about the curry, we did not receive any response. She just went back to the kitchen Also at a random moment after we completed the main course, she suddenly presented us with the bill. However, we still wanted a dessert. But she did not ask nor informed us that the restaurant was going to close. The herbal thea (herbal louise) was very good 👍🏻 And then again she presented the bill for the second time u asked and tried to take away our thea pot: looks like she want to go home. Which we can understand: however : it would be nice to have it made explicit. We just read the website and we read that it is open till 10 pm. It is now 8:45 pm and the business closed By the way: google says this is a hotel, but it is restaurants Oh, after completing this review we got informed that the staff had to leave early because of the curfew.

Such an amazing restaurant! Located in the center of Baños and easily reachable while walking through the center. We loved the furniture and the whole arrangement of the restaurant. The food was extremely good, very fresh ingredients and big portions. There is plenty of choice for vegetarians/ vegans and the staff was very lovely. Absolutely recommendable.

Ordered the hamburger under the lighter options section of the menu and the chicken Teriyaki. Burger was excellent and a lot larger than expected but the Teriyaki chicken was a little overcooked, which seems to be the rule from our experience. Prices were very reasonable and service was excellent. The art on the walls lends a nice ambiance to a lovely place to chill and enjoy a beer or coffee and some food.

The food was delicious but the atmosphere insufficient. The restaurant was really cold, we even had to wear our coats whilst eating. No candles or firewood on. Could improve. Many vegetarian options with SEITAN, like vegetarian pad Thai, 2 vegetarian curries, vegetarian nasi goreng, we loved it!

Great food and great service. In addition to herb crusted lemon chicken I had one of their amazing juice smoothies; the Super C ( passion fruit, alfalfa, citrus). Staff speaks English and Spanish. Great decor and musicians stop in every so often to just play 1-2 songs.

Very quiet and relaxed place, it's homeade food, taste good, it's no fast food you will have to wait a little bit. Humus it's great, you can order your food vegetarian or with meat. One of the top places in baños.

Wow! Just amazing good food, all served by very nice staff. All ingredients taste fresh and their salsa picante did remind me of the spicy salsas you get in the very best TexMex restaurants in Tx. I’ve eaten several “almuerzo’s” so far and a few times from the menu. All is just superb. I enjoyed the NasiGoreng a lot. I hadn’t had a really good tasting NasiGoreng in years. I keep going back to this place. On top of all that, I love it when they fire up the fire place on a chilly rainy day. PS no plastic bottles used at all. They’re very environmental oriented.

It was an outstanding experience in "Ponche Suizo Baños". The cafe offers supreme caffees, drinks etc. in almost every variant to an affordable price. If you plan a trip to Baños make sure to visit "Ponche Suizo Baños".

Stopped in just for the Ponche Suizo signature “drink.” The flavor reminded me of eggnog and the texture was fun. A good treat to get in Baños.

Nice place to take a breakfast

Had the pasta nina with lemonade, wife had pancakes. Was a good meal, place was nice, and service good. Maybe other stuff on menu is better but overall it was good solid meal

Fantastic place. Family-operated with loads of love and attention to detail. Good food and friendly, speedy and competent service. Sporadingly, some surprisingly good short live music acts from local artists.

Excellent American-style breakfast. My kids had the pancakes with ice cream. Everything was delicious and fresh. Fresh blackberry juice and hot chocolate. Highly recommend breakfast here in Banos

An alternative place to eat a sandwich, brown salads and desserts. The place is nice super cozy, the staff is super friendly. The service is fast and the food is pretty good. I had a salad, the dressings are mayonnaise-based, they could improve a little with olive oil and some vinegar. The coffee was very good. The only place where I really had an Italian style espresso

Wanted to go in for a quick bite, had the best food ive had in ecuador so far. Realllyy tasty pasta. The service was also really good and you really get good food for your money (its pretty cheap). I can only recommend!

This was the second best breakfast we had in Ecuador. I recommend the traditional option. This place is very popular and breakfast well made. Blackberry juice was delicious.

Great hostel for individuals or groups. Love the rooftop terrace with great view of the waterfall and old church. Good food, only breakfast is not included. Staff speak English well and we're very accommodating. I stay at this hotel just about every time I visit Baños. I recommend it!

I like it. The bedrooms are clean, the bathrooms and common areas are very good and the people working here are very helpful and friendly. They helped me to get very good prices for tours, for example we bought an amazing tour of paragliding for only 55$. What I didn't like is that most of the windows have some kind of garage safety door that they close in the evening and open at 10ish in the morning. It's very hard to wake up early since the rooms are really dark before 10. Also there is no good air-condition and the room climate gets kinda dry.

A beautiful hostel in a great location in Banos. The place is very clean with comfortable rooms and exceptional staff. There is also a gorgeous rooftop terrace with a kitchen and Healthy breakfasts available. They have a restaurant attached as well which has a very cool atmosphere (fireplace) and good food. Highly recommend staying here, easily one of my favourite hostels in South America.

Huge hostel. A bit too big for me to create a nice atmosphere, though. Staff were incredibly helpful. Cheap laundry. Chill out area and rooftop are quite nice. Beds made daily and towels available to change when needed. Good place to stay!

If you want a place to be social and crash after a night of partying, this might be a good place for you. Otherwise, its not great. The walls are thin so I could hear conversations from the hall and lots of traffic noise from the street. Its located right in the middle of town, so good for coming back from bars but not good if you want to sleep, especially on a Saturday night. I also found that the bathrooms weren’t very clean or well-stocked. However, there is a really nice rooftop space to hang out and the breakfast was excellent.

The hostel was overall good. Staff was nice and friendly. We did the bike water fall tour and it was fun. They also have all the amenities you might need from a hostel ( games room, Netflix, computer, bar, kitchen and you can pay for breakfast). It's a bit of a party hostel but we had no trouble going to bed early on the first floor.

We came here for my partner's birthday as we saw they had a deal on for paella and wine. When we got there we were served a drink which wasn't wine, I'd be surprised if there was any wine in it. The owner was very chatty, if anything too chatty and didn't stop talking to us even after the food was served. We were the only customers. Unfortunately there was a hair in the paella and it was mostly frozen ingredients, very disappointing for a birthday meal. Maybe the tapas would be better.

It is spanish food restaurant. It's salty for me, but overall it was delicious. Especailly fried squid and octopus are very delicious.

La Tasca has become our “go-to” place in Misahualli, for drinks and dining. Although a Spanish Tapas restaurant, often heavy in meat items, La Tasca offers some great vegetarian and vegan dishes, with more being added. We’ve tried the veggie paella (order ahead of time), the hummus platter, papas bravas, ensalada, pesto pasta (made fresh vegan without Parmesan for us), and Gloria is adding some fantastic falafels to the menu. We look forward to new vegan fare in the future. And the Vino Tinto de Verano really hits the spot on a warm afternoon.

I lived in Baños last year for 6 weeks and tried a ton of restaurants. Somehow I missed this place back then, but I just discovered it with my friend while we're in town this weekend. Definitely a standout restaurant in Baños, and I've tried all the best restaurants here. I can't name anywhere in Baños I've eaten as delicious. Make sure to get the meatballs and the octopus mango tartar which where the shining stars of my meal (although all of it was great).

Great food, if you're looking for tapas or Spanish food in Baños this is the spot. Friendly owner who spent a lot of time talking to us (almost too much, we were the only customers and he was very chatty). The inside smells like cigarette smoke though, and there are only two small tables outside.

Located in downtown Baños, a restaurant bar where you can eat and drink in a chillout ambience. The music is softly played and thus it's a good place to strike a conversation. The food is very good, I had the chicken sandwich which can easily fill two people. The staff was very welcoming and were quick to provide service. A place worth visiting if you're in town after an intensive tour day

Nice atmosphere to chill after a long day. The drinks were great but the food was just okay. We felt a little rushed to leave by the staff even though there wasn’t anyone in the restaurant. They had a good mechanism that you can press a button and your server will come to your table. This was a good addition as the restaurant is pretty big.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! The meat that we ordered was definitely the best we had in a long time, absolutely delicious. The mushrooms sauce, the vegetables (eveb though they were cold it would've been better if they were hot), the potatoes. Amazing. There is a football table and pool to play while you're waiting, even though the orders came fast. We were sitting downstairs but the area upstairs looked nice. The whole design of the restaurant gave good vibes and energies. Also the music! We ordered the deserts, the cheesecake oreo and the nuts cake. Thr cheesecake was better, they weren't the best we've ever had but they were good. I definitely recommend this place!

Pedacito de Cielo, a unique blend of babaco, mandarin, rum, and vodka, or the one with their name, a refreshing mix of rum, peach, lemon, and aromatic bitters 😋 I try their Ceviche Palmito, marinated in their special salsa, and the meat of the house. While the taste is good, the shrimp doesn’t reach the same level as on the coast. The meat is delicious! Wrap up your visit with a chocolate cake dessert and sip on their craft beers. They also run a tiki bar and a club close by - both are great options if you feel like continuing the night 😊

The cocktails were not good but the food was for the most part. The service was attentive and polite.

I want to give this place a much better rating. However it took close to 1 hr to get an order of empanadas. On the meantime we received the hamburger and Salchipapa and had 2 rounds of drinks before even getting the empanadas. The place itself is really cool. I will definitely come back when I'm back in Baños and hopefully give this place 5 stars.

I will start this review by saying I am a very basic person, and this hotel did not live up to the bare minimum standards that a 4-Star Hotel should be. It’s incredibly overpriced and I would deter anyone from staying here. We arrived at the Destiny hotel, and we found out that there was limited parking even though you are paying over $100 USD per night. There was no receptionist to be found, and we had to wait almost 10 min to be checked in. We arrived in our room and it was hot and uncomfortable as well there was no toilet paper to be found. After talking to reception were able to obtain a fan that helped a bit, and some toilet paper. The bed sheets and the sink in the bathroom were dirty. We used the shower and it clogged up like a swimming pool, and we had to reach out to maintenance again to fix it. As well the smaller shower head connected to the wall was almost falling off the wall. This worst part of this hotel were the incredibly thin walls; and you could here banging noises the entire night, and my neighbours baby sounded like it was in my room. I got about 2-3 hours of sleep the whole night. This is probably my worst experience in any hotel I’ve ever had, and I’ve stayed in hotels around the world. I would avoid at all costs.

Comfortabele beds and very helpful staff. The breakfast was delicious. Rooms are not really soundproof, not ideal for light sleepers. The swimming pools is really small, and the use of jacuzzi is an additional cost (25 dollars/2 hours).

Modern, clean, safe and honest people. This is the best hotel by far. The place is as good as any 4 start hotel in any part of the world. Food was delicious. Rooms are huge. Bar, rooftop and restaurant are available. Beautiful views from the suite and rooftop. Bar and rooftop have a great selection and quality of drinks. Highly recommended. The hotel is well located, staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are very convenient for the high quality. Book in advance during high season.

Awesome place in Baños Ecuador!!!! The people in this hotel is amazing. The food is great and the amenities for all ages. We had a blast!!! Central for all activities. The owner should be proud of the employees he has.

Not worth the money, we only booked it because it had a jacuzzi but when we arrived that was empty and were told we had to pay extra anyway, the hotel was double the price of others and offered nothing exceptional to compensate that. We also requested to use the facilities by the pool to shower before our bus journey/ flight and were told we couldn’t even after offering to pay. The breakfast was awful too. Very inflexible and room very basic, not worth the money book somewhere cheaper!

Very nice experience, excellent installations it has a room with play station and a quiet reading room, nice bar to hang out. I stayed during cold days and it was nice to enjoy the warm pool while enjoying the view. Big and comfortable rooms and bathrooms.
