Boulders Beach, located near Simons Town along the False Bay coastline in Cape Town, is a must-visit destination. It offers a sheltered public bay with a sandy beach and boardwalk where visitors can witness the free-roaming colony of African penguins in their natural habitat. This unique experience allows tourists, families, and travelers to get up close and personal with these charming marine creatures.
You will learn so much about these magnetic and majestic creatures, this is an absolute must stop. The area itself is gorgeous and the beach has truly breathtaking views. We saw a lot of wildlife in the area besides penguins, but the penguins were the highlight. While a bit emotional learning of some of the statistics about the penguins, they seem to really try to be bringing the numbers up for the population. The penguins have little “houses” to help with breeding and caring for young. The signs have a lot of information and the walk to the actual penguins themselves is a comfortable walk down a slope. The price isn’t bad and helps conservation efforts. They have bathrooms and a small gift shop at the top. The penguins themselves were very pretty and even took a dip in the ocean when we were visiting. There are two viewing spots to see the penguins themselves, both are accessible from the same area. Make a stop to see the wonderful penguins and get some great photos of them in their natural habitat!

One of our absolute favourite beaches! It’s small and quiet, and sheltered from the wind. You must check the tides, and the beach disappears in high tide, and the tide rises very quickly if you’re on the beach.
There is an entrance fee, and you need to provide ID for SA resident fees, so remember to bring it or have a digital copy ready.
You won’t be guaranteed to see penguins, as they are wild so roam about. So if you do, enjoy them. Don’t chase them, they’ll swim and wonder around the people. You’ll definitely see dassies, they are quite tame but still wild so don’t try pet them.

Boulders Beach in Cape Town is an absolute gem! 🐧 The highlight, of course, is getting up close to the adorable African penguins — it’s such a unique experience watching them waddle around . The beach itself is stunning, with crystal-clear water and huge granite boulders that make it feel like a private little paradise.
It’s a great spot for families, couples, or anyone who loves nature and the ocean. The water can be a bit chilly, but it’s perfect for a refreshing dip on a hot day. Make sure to bring your camera — the views and penguins are picture-perfect! 📸

A must visit place while visiting Cape Town. Penguins are not found everywhere hence seeing these here in wild and natural setting is not to be missed.
I visited the place in October, when it was spring season at this place, I must say this is the best time to visit Cape Town. It is about a 1.5 hours journey from Cape town, however the journey in between is so pretty that you enjoy every bit of it. Along the journey you are passing on a coastal road which has breath taking sea views. Also, you pass through beautiful mountains covered with very beautiful natural flora and fauna that you would not have seen in any other part of the world. The natural wild flowers of this area are very unique.
Once you reach the Boulders beach, you need to park your transport in the parking area, then you have to walk for some time to reach the Boulders beach. The walk itself is interesting. You have many souvenir shops in between and a proper souvenir shop at the boulders beach. On this way little children dressed in traditional dresses were dancing and singing local songs to entertain the visitors. You can join the dancing and have fun or you can have some pictures with them.
Boulders beach itself is very pretty. Clear blue sae water, white sand, proper pathways to reach the beach and the Penguins itself. It was very much full of fun. Fully recommended.
Absolutely breathtaking. The huge white boulders against the aquamarine colour of the sea is picturesque. Very small swimming area, an entrance fee is payable. Comfortable wooden walkways with many interesting things to see on the way. Viewing area is little small, and an entrance fee is payable.
Boulders Beach, near Simon’s Town outside Cape Town, is a truly special place — beautiful, charming, and full of personality. The sheltered cove formed by ancient granite boulders creates calm, clear pools perfect for swimming, especially for children or anyone wanting gentler waters. Its biggest draw, of course, is the African penguin colony: watching them waddle, swim, nest, and interact is both heartwarming and unforgettable. Facilities are decent — boardwalks, viewing platforms, parking, restrooms and a little shop.
Heads up: it gets busy, especially mid-day, and there’s an entrance fee (which goes toward conservation). Also, since the penguins are wild, one must be careful, respectful, and follow all rules about maintaining distance. Overall, Boulders Beach is a must-visit if you’re in Cape Town — scenic, serene, and seeing penguins in nature makes the trip truly worthwhile.
It is always lovely to see the pinguïns, also the little beach on the side (included in entry fee) is very nice to relax on!
Only downside is that if the just dropped of a bus of tourists, you might struggle to get a good photo opportunity.

Lovely place to take the kids to scratch around for gemstones and maybe play a game of putt putt after. My 3 year old daughter enjoyed it and is already asking when she can go back to collect some more gems. Lots of beautiful gem sculptures and gifts in the store to buy. Small bags tend to be filled quickly by the majority of bigger gems but there is no shortage of small stones, it's just that the bigger ones are more attractive with better patterns, grains, etc. Small coffee or snack store available on site should you need a quick snack. Cool place if you need to keep the kids entertained for an hour or two.

Coffee cave provides tasty coffee, scratch patch gives you pretty gems to sift through, cave golf provides entertainment for young and old alike and there is also a chance to see the gem factory and purchase rocks and minerals in various forms.
Every holiday we go to the Scatch Patch for a round of mini golf and to collect more gemstones for our little garden at home. Kids have an absolute blast in the Scatch Patch. I love the Gem Shop, so many stunning goodies. A definite must visit!!!
What a lovely place. Rather than the children (and adults) just selecting from a shop, they scratch around and find the gemstones they want to take home. Just buy a bag, the size to want, and look around for the best gems to take home.

The shop has done network late pieces inside many trinkets made from the Grenadines and some fossils. Definitely worth a visit.
A highly adventurous and very fun place. The food was good, the scratch patch was something I'll never forget and the mini golf was very fun. The museum was very interesting as well. Me and my entire party have no complaints. We will definitely be returning for more.

The South African Naval Museum, located in Simons Town, has a rich history dating back to 1966 when it was initially displayed at the Castle Military and Maritime Museum in Cape Town. Over the years, its collections were transferred to different locations before finding its current home. The museum showcases various exhibitions including historic clock tower and sail loft, Mast House, submarine history, hydrographic printing display, and more. It offers visitors an insightful journey into South Africa's maritime history and the Navy's legacy.
The Submarine is the most interesting and closest thing you'll experience. There so much history that went with it. It's latest use of it was in 2003.i will definitely Go back there I'm a gamer so I know a little about the Sub

Out of sight is this hidden Gem in Simonstown. There is so much naval history here. Well worth the effort to visit and we'll displayed with friendly staff.

Simon's Town Museum, established in 1977 by the MOTHS and the Simons Town Historical Society, is a treasure trove of the community's history and its maritime significance. The museum showcases the town's role in The Cape Sea Route and preserves its rich heritage, including the Dutch East India Company's establishment of a refreshment station at Simons Bay. Notably, Project Phoenix aims to document and safeguard the history of Simons Town's original inhabitants who were forcibly removed during apartheid.

You can walk there a short distance of about 100ms.
Lots to see and read if you are the hig history fanatic. Unlike us we did the quick over view and skimmed over everything at speed.
The town itself seems amszing too with plenty old buildings etc
Definitely recommend along with the naval museum and the Submarine museum.
Just a point to note they close early around 15h30.

The simons town museum charge enrty is not alot i think it was like R30 bucks.
Naval museum is free but you can chuck some cash in the donations box.
Submarine museum is R80 bucks each if im not mistaken.

Really great museum for people interested in not just the Naval history but also the vital history of the wonderfully diverse communities that grew up in this area as a result of the evolution of this town from its early conception.
The museum also reflects the history of the forced relocation of this community under the Group Areas Act bringing the stark reality of apartheid and how it ripped people apart. The team are incredibly knowledgable and it was a real privilege to visit and learn so much. Thank you! A must see for anyone looking to learn about Simon’s Town and the communities that originated from here and who continue to contribute to the museum.
Simon’s Town Museum is small and not crowded, you don’t need to make reservation but need to buy tickets for access.
Fascinating place. Really nicely maintained on a shoestring budget. Done interesting displays that I found really informative about CPT history, weather and population.

Simon’s Town is a navy suburb and this museum of course references the rich maritime history, but also, you will find cultural and sometimes difficult history on full display.
It’s only R20 ($1) to enter and they have authentic war memorabilia on display.
It’s not a big museum but then again, Simon’s Town isn’t a particularly big town – and the museum gives a good account of the history and environment.
Some of the local families who were moved out of the area in the bad old days have contributed artefacts to the museum.
And there’s a large conference room, but no indication on whether it can be hired for a private event.
It would also be good if private tours would be available in the museum as the exhibits don’t always seem to follow each other.
There’s a tiny gift shop with well-priced stock.
Hours are tight: they close at 15:00.
Wonderful hosts of our Books on the Bay Literary Festival, with displays to keep visitors busy for an hour. Good curios as well. Safe parking. St Francis of Assisi Anglican Church right next door. Their stained glass windows well worth the visit
Generally the visit was okay, however due to it being a weekend we were not allowed to go down stairs,due to them being short staffed. One thing which I was confused about prior going to the museum I called to find out if there's entry fee which they responded to with no there is not but upon entry at the museum we were told it was R50 to enter which we had to pay and that it was a donation, which baffled me coz the guy didn't Want to let us in. Anywayz it was okay.
Not as interesting as the naval museum but it has a prison that you can go look at and it looks cool and think it leads to the Simon's town tunnels that were here but they are hiding it for some reason

Jubilee Square & Jetty is a historic and lively waterfront area in Simon's Town, offering scenic water views, restaurants, shops, and a Saturday crafts market. This place has all-encompassing, beautiful shore as you ride along the railway. Most of the craftwork, be it leather or caved art pieces is very african and has value.
People and restaurants are so welcoming, the atmosphere is very conserved and less bouncy.

This place has a great vibe. There is wonderful, creative and clever handwork which makes great souvenirs or gifts. The views of the harbour are really picturesque. There are a couple of great places to eat at or just for a coffee. The parking area is always full, so you may have to find parking else where. The paving is quite bumpy plus there are stairs or different levels which make it not wheelchair accessible.
An adorable little treasure in Simon's Town. Little stalls with curios and restaurants make this spot a must visit for anyone in the area. Our family enjoyed reading about the town's history on the wall a couple of meters outside the square and the view at the dock is incredible.
It is set in a beautiful place, the hawkers are a bit demanding which detracts a little bit overall still worth a visit. Ideal of you want to get some curios. Visit Just nNuisance and have a explore his story.
Every time I come to Simonstown I am amazed by how well preserved the history of the town is. It is clean and well kept. The Jubilee square market is great. There are many things to see and many restaurants to dine at. One of my favorite places in the whole of South Africa.

The Simon's Town Warrior Toy Museum and Shop is a family-owned establishment that holds a treasure trove of nostalgic toys and collectibles. With an extensive collection of model cars, dolls, teddy bears, miniature dollhouses, toy trains, lead soldier displays, Meccano sets, ships, and various other vintage toys and models on display. The museum also features a sales section for collectors to explore.
So much to see in such a small museum. I've been twice now and seen things the second time that I hadn't seen first time. Such a wonderful trip down memory lane.

Feel like a kid in a toy store!
This is a lovely place to come and visit when taking a drive down to Simon's Town.
The historic toys are iconic and all kids and adults will love coming here. The old toys will make you feel like you are 6 years old again, it has a nostalgic relaxing feeling that will make you go back every time.
The entrance fee is very affordable, R10. Tips are always welcome. Collectables are also for sale to any novice collectors or serious collectors. A trip well spend.

We have been coming to visit the Toy Museum for years. This was the first time our youngest had gone, and he was absolutely obsessed with the train setup. A real walk down memory lane for us parents and grandparents

A wonderful experience. My son really liked the working train and the model cars. My daughter liked the fancy dolls houses, the big dolls and Percy himself! He was very kind, he gave my daughter some trinkets and half price on something else.
I was pleasantly surprised at how many items were on display. I enjoyed the dolls, doll houses, merry go round, vehicles and trailer the most!
What an amazing experience. The gentleman who works at the museum was eager to show us a few specific toys which have a story or history behind them, which we would never have known without him! Very cool outing.
What a wonderful place! My son and I lost ourselves for hours in the amazing collection of toys! Some powerful memories for me (49), and an eye opener for my son (9)!

Simons Town, South Africa, is a place steeped in maritime history and natural wonders. One of its most famous residents was Able Seaman Just Nuisance, a Great Dane who became an iconic figure during World War II. He was the only canine member of the Royal Navy and his story is celebrated with a monument near the Naval Base as well as a statue in Jubilee Square. Visitors can also hike to his grave on St Georges Street.
Nice statue of a dog with an interesting back story. His grave is on the hill above if you want to visit.
Each parking at the area and plenty of food, drink and shop and market stalls. Worth a visit.

Awesome background story:
Just Nuisance was a Great Dane who lived in Simon’s Town, South Africa, during the Second World War. Born in 1937, he became famous for his loyalty to the Royal Navy sailors stationed at the naval base there. He was often seen escorting sailors to the local train station and, remarkably, would ride the trains with them all the way to Cape Town and back.
At the time, the railway company began complaining because Nuisance took up valuable space and didn’t have a ticket. But the sailors loved him, and to solve the issue, the Navy did something unprecedented — they officially enlisted Just Nuisance as an Able Seaman in the Royal Navy in 1939. This entitled him to free rail travel and ensured his place among the sailors.
Nuisance became a symbol of morale and companionship. He was known for guiding drunk or weary sailors back to the station to catch the last train to Simon’s Town, making sure they got home safely — even nudging or herding them along the way. His loyalty and service made him a legend.
He died in 1944 and was buried with full military honours. His grave can be visited at Klawer Camp just outside Simon’s Town, and there’s also a statue of him in Jubilee Square overlooking the harbour.
Such a wonderfull story and Jubilee square has a beautiful centre with retuarants alongside it overlooking a natural harbour and naval base.
The views!!!! The architecture!!! We love Simon's Town. Get transported to another little world when you visit Simon's Town, sooooooo much to see and do. Our kids always insist on visiting Just Nuisance
For anyone familiar with the story or book this is a must visit place if only for a few minutes.
Simonstown is probably my favourite spot in the Mother City. It has everything, the harbour, nice beaches, kayaking, restaurants etc. then it is like a compulsory stop for cyclists.
Very interesting story behind this dog. He guided the soldiers late at night when they couldn't find their way to the base. A very loyal dog. He broke his back after slipping and had to be put down. So he's statue is up there as a reminder of him. My guide Grant from Cape All Tours was so good. Told me to rub my nose against the dog's one for good luck 🤣🤣💕

I've always been super skeptical on Ghosts, but this cements it. The prank was super cool and spooky. Before the tour, you meet at Jubilee Square and had some surprise guests (baboons). The burial grounds have such rich history dating back to 1795, which is amazing... the tour guides were awesome 👌. If you were to do this, I would definitely recommend booking tickets in advance 😀

When my friend Wim mentioned this ghost walk quite a few months ago, it was a "bucket list" activity come summer! It did NOT disappoint. We headed to the assigned meeting place at Jubilee Square where I had a few chats to the rather silent statue of Just Nuisance. What a gorgeous animal he was. I was somewhat familiar with his story...until the Main Storyteller arrived and boy!his insights just incredible. Along strolls the man himself, André. Presenting as a slight figure, well, that brain accommodated a trove of knowledge and as us South Africans say: "stukkende stories" in the mix. I saw a side to Simonstown that as a Native..have NEVER seen before. Exquisite buildings that had the history explained to us in funny, intellectual, anecdotal and the lot, in his theatrical manner. Well, when the ghostly stories arrived, I was all of Four ears!!! I was impressed with his historical knowledge that Simonstown possessed as some of the first buildings in our country. Admiral's Waterfall is a captivating hidden treasure nestled within the stunning landscapes of Table Mountain National Park. This moderately challenging 1.4-kilometer out-and-back trail begins at Barnard Street and offers hikers a delightful journey through nature, culminating in breathtaking views of a deep ravine and the enchanting waterfall at its peak. The hike typically takes around 36 minutes, making it an accessible adventure for families and nature lovers alike.
A beautiful waterfall in winter. It is so stunning the way it is flanked by rock face on either sides. Then you look upwards and see another waterfall. The other waterfall has a longer drop. The whole area is beautiful, the gorgeous river below the falls, the view of Simonstown way down below. The walk to the falls is easy but it will be a challenge for the elderly. There is a fairly steep set of rocky steps which are uneven in places. The full length of the walk from the parking area, is very short. Watch out for baboons!

Most beautiful outing to the waterfall. After the downpours it's flowing like crazy. Quite an easy trek up, a bit slippery in the wet weather. The waterfall baboon troop were in the area, they are quite harmless.
Dogs allowed on a leash. The views from up here are quite stunning. You can see the whole of Simonstown harbour. Very soothing to sit down and just listen.
A beautiful experience. Not for little kids as the trail is very narrow with a steep drop and no railings for protection. No Parking available. Great spot to see baboons. Beautiful views as its really high up. The waterfall isn't much of a waterfall when there hasn't been rain. The route to get to the trail is a bit tricky so you have to ask the local people for directions. Always be safe and be careful. The rangers that were keeping people safe from the baboons are very helpful and kind. Trail is about 30 min to an hour. Free entry
If you ever have some time to kill out here in the deep south of Cape Town, a walk up to Admiral’s Waterfall is the perfect way to relax.
There’s very limited parking, but the walk is straightforward and a bit of a local secret as very few people from outside the area walk up here.
The views over the suburb are amazing and the sound of the water when it’s flowing strong is wonderful.
Bear in mind that the closer to the water you go, the more slippery the rocks become, so be cautious.
Otherwise, it’s an easy safe walk and if you do meet people, they are generally friendly and helpful (especially the locals).
Caution: You don’t need your backpacks with food, there are baboons in the area. Put bags in the boot of your car.
Admiral's Waterfall is a lovely walk/hike, depending on where you start. It is the perfect winter spot, as the waterfall gushes with magnificence and beauty. As a hiker, we would incorporate Signal Schools Steps as well as the dam that's beyond the viewpoint. In summer, it is dry, but the views are beautiful all around. This is a lovely spot for kids and pets or even just a short walk in nature. There are no facilities on route. However, there are many amenities in Simon's Town that will cater to your needs.
An easy hike up to the waterfalls, making it enjoyable for even the little hikers! Quite a steep elevation to climb once at the foot of the Waterfall but so worth it. Kick off your hiking shoes and frolic in the water!

Such a great quick walk/hike to the waterfall. Middle of the trail is a bit steep but nothing major. Don't think any significant fitness is required. Absolutely stunning views!

Foxy Beach, located just north of Boulders Beach, offers a unique opportunity to observe African penguins in their natural habitat. A wooden boardwalk provides wheelchair-friendly access and allows visitors to get within a few meters of the nesting penguins. The area is also home to luxury homes overlooking the ocean, creating a picturesque backdrop for observing these fascinating birds. It's important to respect the penguins' space and avoid disturbing them as they go about their daily activities.
Beach with colonies of african penguins. There is actually two platforms to view them, one is the popular one which goes straight down. The other one is this one where you immediately turn right from the entrance where there is way less people. But there are less penguins sometimes here. So recommend going to both platforms if you have time.

Even in high winds the penguins did not disappoint! Good cost for an entry fee and everything was in great shape. The stars of the show definitely did there part and everyone had a good laugh at them running into the water and just overall hanging on the beach. Definitely a stop to make during your trip to Cape Town!

Went to Boulders beach to see African Penguins but the crowds and queues were too long. Went to Seaforth Beach instead.and found a quiet beach with lots of Penguins. No entry fee too.

Firstly I just want to say how amazing the owners are. They were so kind and extremely helpful.
Our apartment was extremely clean with everything we needed, from extra blankets to extra towels.
The area is extremely safe, peaceful and serene. Located literally right next to Seaforth beach and Boulders beach.
There is a great restaurant and cafe nearby as well as a convenience store. Simon's town is only a walk away.
Best part was seeing the penguins just walking around near the beach.

Ironically, it is prohibited to take fish from the area.

Glencairn is a beautiful beach and it is dog friendly, so you can let your dog have a good run around. If you walk further down there is a wading pool deep enough for you to swim in as well as a nice place to spend with your family, the views are amazing and the water is warm.

A culturally rich experience to reveal the history of the Cape Muslim community of Simonstown. They also have the burial records of the Dido Valley and Seaforth cemeteries to assist in tracing family history.
This is truly a place of Malay Heritage taking people back many, many years of how Malay people lived, holding onto their traditions and heritage (which is fading away as the years go by) , I love the setup of the museum, all the rooms are transferred into displaying, showing and giving you a true Malay culture/traditional experience, you will come across a Bridal room (known to the Malay people as the "Bruidskamer") for me that haven't seen or witnessed one with my very own eyes, I was in awe, just stepping into any of the rooms or walking down the house passages, amazed me, all the artefacts, photographs of years gone by, ornaments, clothes, mannequins with their traditional wear, and the Davidson couple that runs the museum is so sweet walking with you and patiently answering all your questions, they have a lovely garden where you can relax and have a picnic afterwards.

Absolutely AMAZING experience. I live locally, and this was a treat for a friend's birthday. It is as captivating, beautiful, and delightful for locals as it is for tourists. Paddling along the coastline, hearing historical and natural tidbits from the brilliant guides, and then entertained by rafts of penguins - one group swam under our kayak! Just excellent from start to finish.
What a fantastic activity for a morning in Simon’s Town! Easy setup and quick to respond to inquiries. Make sure to arrive 15 minutes early and try to park in the lot closest to the restaurant where it’s free, otherwise if you park in the lot along the boardwalk you’ll need to pay R15 an hour. The kayaks are tandem, no singles - so if you’re alone you’ll be paired with someone new. The guides are so sweet and share lots of knowledge with you during the trip.

I had a great morning with the team, including being picked up from my apartment in Cape Town.
It was made clear what we could see, and luckily they showed up!
5 or 6 bronze whaler sharks were around the boat/cage at any one time.
We also saw 2 hammerhead sharks, although they did not come too close.
We were also followed at times by numerous dolphins.
After the cage experience we were taken to seal island, be prepared for the 'slight' aroma...... it's extremely pungent!
The whole trip was fantastic and I'll remember it for a very long time.

I had a great experience with Apex. They promised Bronze Whaler Sharks and there were over ten of them waiting to join us.
I highly.recommend that you book the scuba gear since it makes it so.much easier to stay under.water and watch the sharks. I didn't expect it.to be so rough under water. But waves and sharks give the cage a good shake. So much harder to keep going up and down if you dont have the scuba gear.
On the way to the sharks we.saw a huuuuge pott of dolphins. A few hundred is underestimated.
This was worth every single penny. The staff are extremely professional and great characters. Felt very safe. The wildlife of dolphins, seals, penguins and bronze whaler sharks was great. Good snacks and tea. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience with Apex, starting from early in the morning when we were picked up at our accommodation. We loved how organized the entire day was, and most importantly how safe the diving and cage itself was! My advice - If you are able to , request the air line for the dive as well. It is very tiring coming up for air with every breath, so having the regulator makes for such a better experience!! It's an option to request when you make your booking.
We also did the afternoon tour to Boulder, where the oceans meet, and Chapmans point. Sam was so knowledgeable and professional and we loved the tour as well.

I went in on this boat ride with no expectations- nature is unpredictable and whales can be elusive. But my goodness gracious if they didn’t come out in pairs and more! They are fast and I couldn’t capture them on camera all that well and in the end, I put my phone away and just enjoyed these magnificent unbelievably massive creatures. And for me, that was the ultimate success story: putting that phone away to enjoy nature at its finest.
This was such a remarkable experience. To actually observe whales in their natural habitat is humbling. I cannot believe we hunted them almost to extinction for oil (reading Moby Dick at the moment).
And I am thrilled that we fixed that before it was too late because now they are thriving and no longer at risk. Yay for humanity and for whales and for this awesome whale watching company who seriously knows what they’re doing ✊🏽
Ps. The boat is awesome and the ride was fantastic. I can’t swim and I felt comfortable the entire trip. Lastly, the person offering information is an absolute pro, she a superb storyteller and would give really interesting information not just on whales, penguins and seals but also on the areas we covered. Great experience going to Seal Island in False Bay. The crew was very kind especially with my children and we highly recommend the trip.
We went for the tour today. For 2 hours absolutely nothing despite of seals and seagulls and beautiful sailing boats. Our eyes were hurting from searching on the water. Then there came a call from a colleague. Then we drove to the place. Three humpback whales directly 2m away from the boat. One showed is his tail. I will never forget this experience. Thank you for your effort to drive us to the whales.

we had an amazing whale watching experience! the whole process (communication about booking, payment, etc) was great. we had truly once-in-a-lifetime whale watching conditions and were able to see several whales up close, but what i particularly appreciated was the guide’s explanations about the rarity of these sightings, the importance of not getting too close, and other historical and scientific information.

We joined whale watching today. It was a good experience. We saw good hump back dolphins, and seal eating a fish. Also we saw lot of seals on a seal island. Unfortunate for us that we could not see whale, I know it’s uncertain and the travel agencies have no control over it. They did all the hard work to show us whales, but luck was not favourable. Boat on which they conduct this tour is good and not much crowded. One can always try there luck. On deck they have some light snacks and water. Also information is provided about marine animals. Try to wear warm clothes.

Windmill Beach, located near The Simon's Town Country Club and golf course, is a small and charming beach surrounded by large granite outcrops that provide a windbreak. The calm, clear waters make it ideal for safe paddling, swimming, and snorkeling. It offers fantastic dive spots for new divers in protected channels with abundant marine life. There are paved walkways from the parking lot to the beach, as well as bathroom and shower facilities.
This charming small beach is ideal for families with kids. The large boulders surrounding the beach provide calm water as it blocks strong waves and winds. While parking nearby can be a challenge, we discovered a pleasant alternative: parking at Boulders and strolling along the scenic 5-minute boardwalk, which offers a bonus - free viewing of adorable penguins!

During holiday seasons, get there early before the crowds. Early, like 05.00. Best sunrises. It is a fabulous swimming spot and there are ablution blocks.

Beautiful secluded beach, spent 15 days staying locally and loved this little secluded beach. Avoid weekends when it gets really busy. During the week very quiet small footpath leads down to small beach. The water was crystal clear and great for swimming.
Let’s keep this spot a secret, as it’s by far the best place to go for a swim. There are many snorkeling people here, I guess because the water is so clear and deep. It’s refreshing and clean. I loved this beach more than any other.
But, if you’ve never been to Boulders Beach then pay the entry fee and go there so you can experience the penguins. It’s right next door to this beach.
Lovely quiet hidden beach. This little secret is as nice as bolders beach minus the crowds and entry fee. Beautiful clear waters for scuba diving or kayaking. Great place to make sandcastles and did kids to play
Great spot to snorkel. It can get busy in season and parking is very limited. Dogs must be kept on leads, most people don't but beware, the Rangers like to make appearances.
