Wow! Authentic mexican food no doubt about it! Food is phenomenal, homemade, the tortillas are also homemade and so dang good!! If you are looking for legit authentic mexican food, look no further, their prices can't be beat! We had the cheese enchilada plate and the chicharron plate, both were legit!

We were told this was one of Selena’s favorite restaurants. The food was great. But tortillas aren’t homemade. The flour ones did taste homemade but they aren’t. But I mean overall the food was great & super packed! That’s a given how good it is.

Hi-Ho is by far one of the best culinary experiences I’ve had. I discovered this gem while visiting the Selena Museum, and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing as was the service and atmosphere as well. I had the pleasure of meeting Ben who’s an amazing guy. He took the time to share the rich history behind the restaurant, which made the experience even more meaningful. I was recommended by my waitress the carne guisada which was absolutely delicious. (Ps they have the best tortillas somebody could ever taste) Thanks again and I can’t wait to visit Hi-Ho again!

The food here is excellent. Just like home made Mexican food. Our waitress Carmen always provides outstanding service, but all the waitresses there are very good. There Mole, chicken chalupas, chicken enchiladas, barbacoa, menudo always on point. Everything is always yummy.

Had breakfast here this morning and it definitely earns a spot on my go-to list for non-greasy barbacoa. Got 4 tacos: 2 Barbacoa, a Machacado, and a Carne Guisada. The tortillas were excellent, not too thick, not too thin. The barbacoa was flavorful and tender without being oily. Machacado and carne guisada were just okay, could use a bit more punch. I wish the salsa verde cups were filled to the top, I kept wanting more with every taco. Overall, great stop for a clean, satisfying breakfast.

Great spot for some delicious cheap eats. The barbacoa is tasty and not greasy. The menudo is perfectly cooked with great spice. The softdrinks come in a 20 Oz bottle and a cup of ice. Two breakfast tacos and a julian special ( a cup of menudo and a barbacoa taco) and two drinks all for $18! Amazing!! It's worth the try!

Came here for breakfast. Ordered chorizo w/egg plate and the breakfast was ok but what really helped me in the decision of giving this restaurant a 1 star review was the beans were canned beans. I did ask to confirm 😳

Great prices. Good hole in the wall looking spot. Clean. No wait time in the am on a Friday 9 to 10. Steak and Eggs Everything on plate was phenomenal. Fresh tortillas were great as well. Where to start with this place. The people working here are always welcoming and make you feel like family, so the atmosphere alone is fantastic. But the food, my God. The food here is simply amazing. The flour tortillas remind me of my grandma's, so I know they're homemade and made the right way. I haven't got around to trying lunch here yet but I can only imagine it's great. The breakfast tacos though, hands down the best in Corpus and surrounding area.

great experience overall. my dad always talks about this place and how good it is, so when i’m in town i like to stop by. I ate everything and had to restrain myself from licking the plate, it was so good. very filling and quick service. came out veryyy hot though.

Wanted to like this place due to hearing so many recommendations. The salsa that is served is very plain and almost sweet. My plate was cheese enchiladas, carne guisada, tostada and of course rice & beans. The tortillas used for the enchilada were very tough. Never in my life have I had to use a knife to cut enchiladas. Rice was ok and beans were just beans. Neither one stood out. Lastly I’m very sure that the tomatoes on my tostada have turned. There was a definite odor of rotten tomatoes. If I did return I would try the carne guiada plate as that was the best part of my meal today.

The service and food was absolutely delicious! The Mexican Sampler Plate was just amazing! The fajitas were fresh and juicy! The crispy tacos were a hit with my little girl! The enchiladas were absolutely delish! Definitely recommend it and coming back!

This place has been our son’s favorite place for the last 14 years however the last few times we’ve gone it’s gotten worse and worse. The food quality is not the same. The last time I was there our food tasted like it had all been reheated from the night before. Our rice was cold and hard. The beans were meh and the enchiladas were cold. The chips were stale. I seriously thought we got the leftovers. It’s sad because this place used to be so good. The last time we said something the manager was rude so this time we just paid and left. (Our waitress was so sweet though) I tried to give them another chance again because it’s a small local business but I think I have to call it quits now.

My first time eating here and it was a big disappointment. My Caesar salad was soaked in dressing couldn’t even eat or enjoy my salad. They only serve Instant Coffee which is unbelievable! My dad and brothers enjoyed the Oysters. The crab balls should become crab cakes. They still needed cooking no one cared for the crab balls. The ceviche was okay. My sweet tea was good. The fish tacos and the shrimp platter were good. My pecan snapper was dry and disappointing I didn’t care for the tangy white sauce served over a hard avocado slices. My sister enjoyed her Salmon except for the olives that came with her dish. Our server was amazing, sweet and friendly. Overall, I’m glad my family enjoyed The Blue Clove, however, I personally will not be coming back. Do note this is my personal opinion. I have no doubt this place is a favourite to many locals. I’ve yet to find a good fish restaurant.

Amazing dinner for one in Corpus! I love this quaint and fantastic restaurant. The waiter recommend the crab stuffed drum and I tried it. It was delicious and sensational. If you are ever in Corpus Christi. You need to try this place out!

My friend recommend this one to me....and, Wow. I was simply blown away. We went around lunchtime and was given a lunch menu, after looking over the menu I admit I was slightly disappointed. I flagged down our awesome waiter and asked if they did a dinner menu all day and he said yes! This is where everything changed. Everything on the menu looked delicious it was super hard to choose. After weighing my options (literally every choice sounded amazing) I settled on the Cajun Snapper. And a 3 dollar unchanged for a bowl of Gumbo OH My god! It was one of the best snappers I've ever tasted the Cajun sauce with baby scallops and gumbo were seasoned to perfection and the food portion size was more than enough. I highly recommend this place to anyone! 10/10 will eat here again.

The food was amazing! 1st time here and definitely can't wait to go back ! Got there around 5:30pm.on a Saturday. It was perfect because around 6pm it started getting packed. The appetizers were so good. Our main dishes had a sauce that was sooooo delicious!!!

Sweet Staff Simple Menu!!! We enjoyed an inconceivably romantic outing. Whole afternoon was wonderfully woven together, with DAVE as our server. He is so attentive, just the most courteous, jovial Gentleman. Such delicious veggies! Perfect compliment on the special Valentine's Day! Our great aunt is their regular, and you should be too! They always remember and cater to her specific personality! Very beautiful restaurant.

This place was not what I thought when looking on the outside in a strip mall. It took this strip mall area and made it feel like a bright calm place to have supper. It was not a dressy up place. Come as you are, shorts and shirts were fine. The waiter wore a shirt from the restaurant and nice pants. His name was Derek. Great service!! He was triple sat and ran the tables as if we were the only table he had. He was busting his booty! We lacked for NOTHING!! We started with bacon wrapped shrimp. 4 were included in the order. The jalapeño was a nice spice, but didnt kick, they took the seeds out! I has the 4 chicken breast meal. The mashed potatoes were creamy and tasted super fresh. A couple of lungs so you knew it was fresh not boxed! Loved that! The chicken was nice and crispy, juicy and the 4 cheese topping was just salty enough I didnt need to add any salt to the plate. The star was the lemon ber blanc (sorry if misspelled) it was so yummy and crispy!! The serving was so much I had enough to take home for tomorrow at lunch! Hubby had fried shrimp. With rice pilaf and veggies. The shrimp were so big, like half dollar size! Approx 6 shrimp filled him up! They were moist and juicy and very tasty. We absolute have no problems coming back here. We did not get drinks from the bar, but it appeared to be a very busy bar and the bar tender was making drinks the whole time we were there. We will be back in fro. San Antonio again!

Been ordering at the drive thru and the sauce they give is really good but I wish they could give more than one if we order two . . The lady that always gets our order is very rude always giving an attitude always has an ear piece in her ear . Overall the only thing that is good is the sauce . Needs better customer service

Nano's Taco Run on Holly is a go-to spot for hearty, flavorful tacos and classic Tex-Mex comfort food. The breakfast tacos are always fresh and filling, and the tortillas taste homemade. Service is quick and friendly, and prices are reasonable for the quality and portion size. However, one thing that knocked it down a star for me: the online menu doesn't match what they actually serve. I showed up expecting to order a couple of items listed on their website, only to find they weren't available-or priced differently. It can be frustrating if you're trying to plan ahead or order something specific. That said, the food still hits the spot and the overall experience is worth it. Just be aware that the best way to order is to show up in person and check the menu boards. Great local spot with room for a little improvement on the digital side. Will definitely be back

I recently bought a couple of tacos and It was a bit off the mark One taco was greasy and the other really dry It was not the norm because it is one of my favorite places to eat. The picadillo meat was not strained it is normally really meaty and the carne guisada meat was dry . Tasty but not there best this day .

This was my first time at Nano’s. I ordered the chorizo and egg taco. I can taste the cheap chorizo that was used or should I say I could NOT taste the chorizo. It was flavorless! The tortilla was hand made and delicious. The sauce was incredible. I am going to give this place another try. The two stars is a reflect of the chorizo and egg breakfast taco. Not necessarily of the service or restaurant itself.

I ate inside and I had the agua de pina while I waited for my food. The agua Fresca was so good and refreshing. The enchiladas were great, however the beans were lacking flavor. I would come again.

Prices are not updated on the menu. They won’t mention it until you say something. I ordered potato and egg, potatoes tasted similar to frozen ones from bag.

Quick and cheap breakfast tacos. They were so good and definitely home-made ingredients! They even use the good shredded cheddar cheese. We got there around 11:30a on a Saturday and it was packed with people inside and drive thru. We left and went back around noon the same day and the restaurant was almost completely empty. Inside is very cold and not many seating areas. The staff was so nice and quick. We got three HUGE tacos total and 2 large sweet teas for $18

You can not beat authentic MEXICAN homestyle cooking because that's absolutely what you have here. My wife and I ordered the green chicken enchiladas, which were melt in your mouth fantastic. The order menu is limited, but I'm sure it's all good. Same with the drink order, which is beer or soda pop. The service was okay, very quick to order, and also very quick to bring out our meals. It was a bit slow towards the end (busy place) to get our bill, which was payable at the guest counter. So basically, you pay your bill, and as you stand there, you will need to figure out how much to tip. No big deal, it's just the way they do it. There is no paper bill. It's certainly worth stopping if you enjoy authentic MEXICAN food.

SIgn says Mex without the Tex; accurate. Authentic Mexican food. We really enjoyed ourselves, 3 x Micheladas with Bohemia, mug well chilled, salted. Appetizer was chips and salsa; the salsa is NOT tomato based, relatively spicy like we like it. Additional appetizer was Guacamole with fried pork rinds. Entrees was Shrimp Tostadas, their award winning pork and a beef plate that I can't recall the name. Photos and not "beautiful" but the food was excellent. This is in our wheelhouse for authentic Mexican. I would/will go back.

Best place within hundreds of miles, they do a slow roasted 24-hour cooked pork loin that you shred into tacos grandfather and I came from San Marcos and eight like Kings. The food alone was worth the drive. Sided with pico de gallo, salsa, guacamole and tortillas of course we ate every shred off that bone and enjoyed every bite.b

True to their word, all the Mex, no Tex. This was a delicious spot after a day at the beach. Come for a casual dinner with finely cooked, authentic Mexican food. Staff made excellent recommendations. If you breathe deeply, you might even think you’re in Mexico.

This was the Vegeterian tortilla soup! 🤯🤢Served in a broken bowl and couldn’t even took more than one sip it was that terrible and not edible at all in taste and they saw we left it and didn’t even took more then one bite of it and server didn’t even ask how it was or offered replacement etc. So not good service! Fish was ok and the tacos were good but the chicken on tostada for our grand ma was tasteless as well.

This restaurant recently FAILED a food inspection and I see why. There were gnats in the kitchen area and mold in the fountain drink machine. Stay away from here! I had the red pozoloe when I went, that will be my 1st and last time. My girl had the enchiladas with salsa Verde! They need to warn people that pretty much everything is drowned in chile, maybe to cover the poor quality of the food. The pozoloe was not fresh, heated up in the microwave, the pork in the pozoloe was extremely tough to chew!!! This might be a good spot for those who don't know any better and for people on the island who don't have much of a choice but this was straight garbage. Also next time the waitress decides to speak Spanish and make fun of the customers, asegurate que tus cleyentes no entiendan lo que estas diciendo! Payasa! 0 ⭐all the way around! I will not go back, I don't recommend this place at all and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. A person on death row wouldn't eat this garbage. I didn't post pictures or take any pictures because I was ready to leave! I'm sure they get traffic from the bar around the corner of the building but that's probably because they're too intoxicated to know any better!

The people were so friendly and helpful I only wish I had a better review of the food. The menudo (although extremely tender) it was flavorless. The broth wasn’t the dark rich red orange it was almost light brown (salt and lime couldn’t save it). The eggs, beans and potatoes were pretty standard. We had ordered bacon and egg tacos and it was the kind where they cook the eggs and throw a strip of bacon in there (sad face) those never taste good. The Mexican sodas were $4!! Geez! On a bright note the service was nice and the food came out quickly but unfortunately I won’t be returning. Also here is the menu. Not only could I not find it online but it took us a while to find us one at the restaurant as well.

The food was enjoyable. It is a small hole in the wall, but I feel they really need to add a coat of paint to it to not make it feel so old. Our waitress was not friendly, almost as if she was very busy and frustrated. She did provide us with decent service, but I never saw her smile. I modified my lunch order and they fixed it right up. Kudos on that! My girls complained about the smell of tripas in the air and were bothered by it. I would go back but maybe order tacos Togo. The carne guisada was pretty good.

Don’t judge this book by it’s cover. The building needs some work, but the food here is absolutely delicious. This is undoubtedly my number one choice for breakfast tacos in the area.

Yoli's hands down is my favorite Corpus Christi restaurant. The food is delicious. Don't let the interior fool you, it looks a little down, but you can't argue with their cheese enchiladas, refined beans and their Carne Guisada. I do wish they had better bacon, their bacon is hard and tasteless. The staff is always friendly.

Parking its slightly difficult on weekends.. .the have specials which most are very well done as far as what tk choose. Their drinks are well executed and priced decently

I had a terrible meal here. I had heard great things about this restaurant, and my wife and I were excited to try it out. The queso was tasty but runny, I ordered fajitas, as I often do at a new to me Mexican restaurant. My meal was not charred but burned and had a very sour burned flavor. The tortillas were odd, some sort of wheat, I think. My wife enjoyed her meal, and both the service and atmosphere were great. This is not a cheap option furthering my disappointment. I feel it is very possible it was just a bad day, considering all the positive reviews from people I know, but an expensive disappointment for me.

the server was super sweet and the atmosphere was amazing. the food was mid though, not really any true flavor. the chips had a TON of seasoning which was spicy and made it hard to eat. the food overall tasted like any other place but super expensive.

Overall: The food was good and we give this place another chance but we would wait for a table in the main restaurant, not the bar. Favs: The beef from the 50/50 plate was very good. The chicken was also good but most of us preferred the beef. Rice and beans were so/so. Dynamite sticks were not our favorite. She told us right away that she would be leaving and another server would take over. She took our drink/appetizer orders. The appetizer was delivered by the kitchen and they tried to give it to the table next to us but they told the kitchen server that it wasn’t their order and so we called out to tell the kitchen sever it was our order. Mistake #1 which wasn’t a big deal because we resolved it. Mistake #2 was when a different kitchen employee delivered our meal to the next table and they accepted it because they too had placed the same order (50/50 plate) but our order was placed 10 minutes before their order. 😠 So it was our order. We complained because it was our order delivered to the wrong table TWICE but two different kitchen servers… the table that received our 50/50 plate complained that it was barely warm. Manager came and resolved the issue but we did still have to wait awhile for our order. There were definitely server related issues with our visit but seems that there may have been kitchen issues also. The food was good though and that is why I say we would give them another chance but we will wait for sitting in the main area. We will not sit in the bar area and we would suggest to the restaurant that they not use the bartenders as servers for more than one table at the most.

They start you off with chips and 3 types of salsa/dips, and they're bottomless! The food was great. Definitely ask for their daily specials. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Absolutely, do NOT skip the dessert menu.

Everything we had was really flavorful and the drinks were good and strong! The chips had a nice lime seasoning to them and came with 3 dips and we ordered some queso as well that was really good.

I really do love this place but last night I got multiple different dishes and they were all amazing the one that really just upset me was I paid $15 for a quesadilla and nine extra dollars asada meat and there was basically no meat on it!! 1 little piece of meat in each quesadilla…so $24 for basically just a cheese quesadilla doesn’t sit right with me. Other than that the service was amazing and the la Fresa with Donn Julio substituted was so good! We got 6 of em and spent about $100 on just drinks! The tres leches cake is to die for it’s a must try!

Apparently salsa is a scarce commodity here at Sonny’s Barbacoa! Even though we bought a #1 combo (1lb of barbacoa plus tortillas which includes only one single 1 oz of salsa). Umm, really 1oz? that’s enough for maybe 2 tacos so we asked for more after we had already paid at the drive through and asked while still in the drive though before driving away. The cashier said it was a $1 for another salsa (same size) we bought it but then thought… no way, she’s mistaken and asked for the owner. A woman came and said it’s 50 cents for extra salsa and I told her that we were charged a $1 and she said yes that’s right. That doesn’t add up and she didn’t offer us anything (like a second salsa). She confirmed that yes, the combo we ordered only includes 1oz of salsa. Ridiculous. We won’t be back. There’s plenty of other options. For the record, the green salsa was better than the red, IMO

Sonny's is probably the best Mexican Food in the city imo. Chicharones, frijoles, homemade tortillas. I could go on & on about all the great food at this place. This is QUALITY MEXICAN FOOD, there are not a lot of options like this place !!

It was our coworkers birthday so we ordered 5lbs of barbacoa. It had 5 extra small hot sauce. When I took my first bite it tasted as if was last week and gross. It's a complete shame for $112.04 the quality of the food would be much better. NEVER AGAIN...

Hot tasty comida - barbacoa (mixed) nicely spiced and not greasy; potatoes crispy and hot; beans well-seasoned; homemade corn tortillas highly recommended; red salsa fresh with a nice kick. Unassuming location with limited tables for dining in, but clean and perfectly adequate. If Sonny’s is not a local favorite, it should be!

Prices high for a barbacoa Taco 5 dollars and some change. It did not taste good and smelled like it was a couple of days old. It was also very dry. The bacon and egg taco was good.

Went here for lunch with my family after a morning at the beach, and the lunch/dinner menu hit just right. Great Mexican food and the fish tacos were so delicious. Service was great as well, very attentive and helpful when questioning the menu. The atmosphere is great and it is beautifully decorated with Frida-inspired artwork and photos! Definitely recommended to all who need a bite in the downtown area.

I was in Corpus Cristi for the PBR rodeo and wandering around town looking for a place to eat. Happened in to Frida’s and was pleasantly surprised. The service was great and the food was amazing! I ate here three times in a few days.

We recently had a private catering event here and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The staff member was incredibly kind and helpful, making sure everything ran smoothly. The owner was very open and easy to communicate with throughout the entire planning process, which made everything stress free. The private room was perfect for our small gathering cozy, CLEAN, and just the right size. I highly recommend booking your next small event here. Great service, great food, and a great atmosphere!

We have a ton of Mexican Restaurants here, but here’s always room for more, especially when they are doing something a little different like this place. Good solid choices for a Mexican or Tex Mex breakfast. BUT they also offer breakfast bowls with the same ingredients and even some specialty coffees. Give them a try. Service was great too. We’ll be back for sure.

Food was very good! i recommend the spinach bowl with grilled steak for my gym girlies! Wanted mexican breakfast but a healthier more protein filled option and found that here! Definitely will be back for more!

We live in the vicinity. They have proven to have a pretty solid taco salad. First time we got beef fajita, this time sirloin steak. Loaded with ample meat, a little short on the lettuce, but no complaints. The shell is delicious and always fresh.

Had to try this place after seeing it on TikTok and also recommended by people and I’m really glad I did! Good variety on their menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Drinks are definitely good and delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their food!

Finally made it here. We were there last weekend no place to park no seating for 35+ minutes. We left was so very hot so many people waiting. It was suffocating. We got in this saturday no Problem, got seated right away. I had two breakfast tacos. Babacoa was on que. Ordered side menudo. So so so good, ordered side pancakes too. Delicious. Place was dirty tho. I'm guessing they had a rush although dirty tables n floor made it hard to enjoy my meal. Food was great, service was good place was dirty.🤔

A great place for breakfast. We come here every time we visit from San Antonio. The eggs and bacon are delicious. The 3 dollars pancakes are cute and very tasty. And I have to mention their biscuits and gravy, very good. Also, the staff is very friendly and prompt. The overall atmosphere here is amazing. We even loved how so many regulars were eating here and the employees were on first name basis with them. They already knew their orders too! That’s just great customer service. We will keep coming back and definitely recommend this place!

Everything we ordered came out delicious!!!!! The customer service at this restaurant is very good and all employees were very friendly and mindful of what we needed weather it was a coffee refill our anything else, great atmosphere as well.

We rolled in around noon, expecting a wait, but were whisked right to a table. Score one for immediate gratification! Stepping inside, you immediately realize this isn't your average chain restaurant. The decor is a delightful mix of aged wood, an abundance of greenery, and – wait for it – a model train that chugs along above your head! It's not fancy or trendy, but it's got a unique, quirky charm that just feels fun. Yes, it's a bit cozy (some might say "snug," especially when it's bustling), but they're clearly maximizing space to get all that deliciousness out to the hungry masses. Our server was efficient and friendly, guiding us through a menu loaded with comforting foods, including breakfast. And comforting it was! This is good, hearty, honest-to-goodness downhome cooking. The portions are generous and the food arrived surprisingly quickly. The prices? Very fair for the quality and quantity – a rare and beautiful thing these days. What truly sealed the deal for me was the distinct lack of obvious tourists. This felt like a genuine local hangout, which, as a discerning traveler, I wholeheartedly appreciate. If I lived in Corpus Christi, I'd be a regular fixture at Andy's. It's the kind of place where you leave feeling full, and happy. Don't expect white tablecloths; expect good food, good vibes, and maybe a little elbow room negotiation. Highly recommend for a truly local taste!

This is a great spot and the service is great. We had some delicious drinks and the blackened chicken sandwich was delicious. The menu is mostly seafood but they have burgers and salads also. The vibe is amazing and the reason we eat here. You are right on the water. 🤩

The atmosphere here was spot on. Part of the marina. I really enjoyed the fried shrimp and my server was amazing. The only downside was my taquitos. They had great flavor but were cold in the middle. Like refrigerator cold. The server offered to replace them but I had eaten about half of them despite the temperature issue because the flavor was amazing so I didn’t feel right about getting a new order. Just enough to keep from a 5 star rating, but everything else was great!

This was a pretty cool place. We actually ate on the water and you could feel it move the whole time. I had the server suprise me with a fish and it was really good, the unicorn fish. Slightly over cooked, but the sauce was awesome. Everyone was pretty happy with their food. Looking forward to going back and getting surprised again on a new meal!

Good food & cool atmosphere. The fans and breezes made the patio tolerable even in the midday sun and I'm a "big guy".coconut shrimp were crispy but the shrimp were still cooked perfect. She had the fish and chips. The only thing that would have made this place better would be live music.

We arrived at Harrison's Landing and were immediately seated on the patio. They do allow dogs, and the patio is covered, which made it a comfortable spot. We ordered drinks while we waited for dinner later that evening. They had a few drink specials, and we went with the Prickly Pear Margarita. It was solid. They also brought out ice water for our dogs, which was a nice touch. The only downside was the bathroom situation. The restrooms are located inside the gift shop, and there are only two available. Since it was a Saturday and just after 1 p.m., the shop was pretty busy and there was a bit of a wait to use the bathroom. Not ideal, but nothing major. We had a great seat by the water with a nice view. The overall atmosphere was relaxed, and the drinks were good. We appreciated being able to have our dogs with us. We didn’t eat this time, but we plan to come back and try the food on another visit.

We're visiting Corpus Christi and found out about this lil gem. The service and food is great and it's fun to sit outside on the water. The only thing I did not care for were the birds that were flying around trying to grab food, they weren't dive-bombing anyone though. The platters are plentiful, my sister and I shared the fish and chips. It tasted great. The oil used to fry the fish was clean and the flounder tasted fresh. We each got the El Jimador Margarita since it was the drink dé jour. Our server was Sabrina B. She was friendly, attentive and efficient. Thank you Sabrina. There's a gift shop next door and patrons get 20% off, just show your receipt. We will return to this establishment.

Great boat tour with our Captain Cook and crew member Faith. They were very informative and funny, and they made my 3 year old Junior Captain and taught him to drive the boat. Definitely recommend.

Went here on a friend's recommendation, and I enjoyed my meal. Very casual, laid-back atmosphere. Order as you enter and seat yourself. I had the fish & chips and a tossed salad. The fish was really light, crispy, and flavorful! I was disappointed with the shoestring fries as the "chips." Not bad. I just have never been a fan. Expected thicker cut fries. 🤷‍♂️ The tossed salad was great, nicely sized, with the manager recommended walnut dressing. I saw most people ordering burgers... maybe next time!

Never have I had a taco from a place that served tortillas raw. Cooked (or at least steamed) tortillas should never crack but having ordered the Baja shrimp and fish tacos, all tortillas were dry and brittle. At least the shrimp and sauce was flavorful. Also ordered a side of hand battered fries. Worst fries I’ve ever had. Despite looking crunchy, they were soggy and flavorless. Please be advised that salt is optional here. Go with the shoestring fries. Definitely feels like a tourist trap.

This was our second time eating here and we enjoyed the food and service both times. The big turnoff for me is the dirty look of everything. The bussers did a great job cleaning tables, it is just the generally old, worn down, dirty appearance of everything. The patio even had puddles of water under some tables so it was hard to find a place that looked clean and comfortable to sit.

Beautiful setting! But that luster went away when I walked in. I was looked at like I was supposed to know what to do when asked if we sit down ourselves or what. She looked up from her phone and directed us to the bar to order. So you have no clue walking in what to do. The bar tender acted completely annoyed and rolled his eyes when I said I didn’t want alcohol just was told to order food. Then our food just came out, literally thrown on the table there’s fries everywhere lol. The server ran off back to the kitchen. I’m not coming back. Food was good but I’ll go elsewhere for fish and chips. Very disappointed.

We went there on Sunday evening so no live music but it’s not a big deal. We still enjoyed our food and the place there. Food was quick to get but I just really didn’t like their fries

The food is definitely good whenever you drank the night before. Has the perfect balance of everything. Christina was our server and she was sweet and attentive! My friends kept saying that the coffee was really good and definitely recommend coming here for that!

I love this place. The service is number 1!! I can’t remember a place that had service as good as this. The food is traditional diner and amazing. I got a take on a Philly cheese steak. The difference was the toasted buttery house made bread. That with the house made fresh onion rings was just wonderful. They finish off every meal with some homemade cake. So go hungry! Everything was really wonderful but I could not finish it all. Oh! The diner looks exactly like a diner should. Bar, booths, and tables. But the tables have a plexiglass backer which muffles out the sound of the people in front and behind you so conversations are easy. The walls are decorated with photos of celebrities and customers. It’s really a great place and I highly recommend giving it a try.

This is the best hidden gem I’ve been to in Corpus! Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the pricing is amazing! I felt like I was at home! This is officially my favorite breakfast place! Staff was absolutely amazing and super nice! Our server Cinthia was soo sweet and made sure our first time dining there went great!

10/10 experienced! Each staff member we interacted with was friendly, and felt like family. Honestly was like hanging at Aunties house with your cousins. The food was absolutely wonderful! If you're looking for a relaxed diner with great food, this is your place. It's like stepping back in time with good food, great service, and reasonable prices. Be sure to check out the lunch specials. My waitress, Beverly, was very attentive and did a great job. I got the meatloaf which was super tender and delicious. Their sides are just as delicious as is their desserts - today I enjoyed bread pudding. Mmmm

Amazing break fast . We ordered pancakes and migas plate, French toast . They were happy to customize the way we wanted and pancakes was filled with blueberries.

This place was absolutely amazing!!! We went 2 times back to back. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. The price as well was awesome. There was 4 of us and only spent about 40 bucks for everyone. We don’t live in corpus but if we ever do that will be our favorite breakfast spot. Highly recommend going plus the inside is old school. Has a lot of vintage stuff.

Don't sleep on this place in downtown Corpus Christi, they have an outside bar area with live music. The piña colada was 5⭐. The tacos al carbon were very flavorful 5⭐, the meat was very tender and there was enough meat that I actually made 4 tacos out of the 2 tacos that I was served. The nachos with carne asada 5⭐. The guacamole i ordered as an appetizer 4.75⭐. PS..... I ordered the cheese sauce on the side and not drizzled on the tacos because, the tacos didn't need the cheese sauce, it would have taken away from the flavor of the meat. Fresh flour tortillas 5⭐. Overall experience 4.5 ⭐ but that's because the place is a little outdated but we were there for the food and not the décor. Strong 4.5⭐compared to some of the other Mexican restaurants in the area, definitely try it out!

The best place for $3 margaritas paired with fajita nachos. Moe the server is always offering great service that always on point. I will return again to try. All the food items. Saturday is the day to visit to hear a mix jams from the dj. Keeping the vibe going at the patio. Sunday is all day marginal special.

First time dining here. Tried it after walking at the Art Walk. Walked in about 9:30, not crowded at all. Server took awhile to get to us for our drink orders. One that was taken, she waited awhile after bringing drinks to take our order. Order took a long time to come out and the two orders were brought out separately with more than 5-10 minutes in between. The food was delicious. Our server surely did make it up to us by comping our drinks. Will definitely give this place another try.

COCKROACHES: DO NOT EAT HERE! Our experience at La Playa by the Bay was disappointing and honestly concerning. From the start, the waitresses never came to our table – the host handled our entire service, which was confusing. We waited over 30 minutes after placing our order, and unfortunately, we never got to try our food. A massive cockroach crawled across our table, completely ruining any sense of cleanliness or safety. The host tried to dismiss it by saying the rain was bringing them in, but there was no rain in the forecast for the weekend. Regardless, this is a serious sanitation issue – a health hazard, really – and I wouldn’t be surprised if the place failed an inspection. Not returning and definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Amazing nachos! Our appetizers were late and the main course was like 5 minutes after we got our appetizers which resulted in a full table. We didn’t have time to finish our appetizers. The food and especially the meat was very good. All the foods were definitely 5 stars! The service was great. We had a dirty plate which he changed up and he didn’t keep asking if we were doing okay every min. Which we loved! We sat on the inside so we could hear the music softly in the background, this was perfect. The drinks were good just a huge glass. Overal a good experience and definitely recommend. :)

Some of the best Mexican in Corpus, everything was so flavorful and the atmosphere and service was very friendly. We will 100% go back and recommend this place to anyone. Street Tacos and Enchiladas Verdes were delicious.

La Playa restaurant, situated along the beachfront in Corpus Christi, is just a short distance from downtown and the beach. This vibrant and spacious restaurant exudes a cozy and festive atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the booths near the large windows, offering a picturesque view of the bustling cantina bar outside. The menu features authentic Mexican cuisine, and our choice of the chili relleno stuffed with hamburger meat, topped with cheese, was exceptionally tasty. The rice and beans were cooked to perfection, bursting with delicious flavors. My husband savored the chicken, shrimp, and beef fajita tacos, accompanied by rice and beans. The freshly made, generously sized tortillas were a highlight, perfectly complementing the flavorful fillings. Without a doubt, we look forward to returning to dine at La Playa again.

The tacos were disappointing to say the least. I had two tiny bites of tuna in a hard thick tortilla doused in a cream sauce. Flavor of the tuna was good but I could put all 3 of my tacos in 1. Prolly won't return.

We absolutely love this place. We have a house both here and in Coachella, California. This is the first place we stop for a really good burger, French dip or salad. Employees are always friendly cooks are always fast food is always hot. Then the bartender here makes the best cherry Pepsi on the island 😉 My only complaint is no french fries! Let’s get an air fryer and let’s make some awesome air fried brussel sprouts and french fries in there!

Small spot good vibes. Food was great but not many healthy side choices. Would be great if they offered healthy simple veggie sides. Only healthy side was a side salad that they only offer as a garden salad which is great I just prefer caeser. Main complaint is the fish tacos come on flour tortillas instead of the traditional corn tortillas. Does not mention on menu that they come on flour. Ordered to go so was disappointed that I got something that may upset my stomach as I have a sensitive stomach. Still give 4 stars! The tacos would have been way better for me personally if I was able to have them on corn with a veggie side or at least Caesar side salad. Will still return again! My family enjoyed their Philly cheesesteaks, burgers & quesadillas

Wow! Eleven days on the island and we finally found the perfect spot. We talked tonight with Sam and Mike (I think those names are correct), ordered at 8pm— one hour before their closing time and was treated kindly and so friendly. Now — the chicken salad sandwich on sourdough bun was the best (not exaggerating or lying) chicken salad sandwich I have ever had. The sourdough bun was to die for. My husband’s Philly steak was so good too. I’m only sad that we will be going home tomorrow. Thanks, guys!! When we come back, you’ll see a lot of us.

Very disappointing. Waited over 45 minutes for this to arrive. Grocery store tortillas and a spoonful of watery coleslaw with small nuggets of fish - maybe Mahi, maybe not. $16 plate! More like $3.

A friend showed me this place a few years back and I've been coming to eat here ever since. Not once has this place disappointed, and the sandwiches I've tried were all delicious and were consistently delicious every time I visited. I highly recommend this place if you like Cuban or Reuben sandwiches. The staff is also very friendly and offered fantastic service. I'd also like to give a special shout-out to one worker in particular named Mike, he was great!

Great food and service. First time trying out the BBQ from this place and I've gotta admit... we're hooked! The brisket was tender, the sausage juicy, and the baked potato salad was on point. The bread used for the sandwiches is house made so you gotta know it's good. As far as the cobbler... yummy yummy yummy! The cobbler too is house made so it was delicious! Very friendly staff! We will DEFINITELY be eating here every time we visit Corpus!

Food was not that great. Got a 1 meat plate which consist of brisket and side of corn and green beans. The corn and green beans tasted like it came out of a can and the brisket was bland. Ordered a side of cobbler didn't think it would be in a small cup for the price I paid. Would not order from here ever again.

Pulled pork “Cuban sammich” was good, but bread was stale. Cole slaw and potato salad was good. Came with a small portion of peach cobbler, but it had only one small bite of peach in it. I considered the meal overpriced. Loved the atmosphere!

Finally made it here and man was it worth it. The absolute best brisket in Corpus. I had the holy Trinity of BBQ, brisket(off the point with bark and fat) spare ribs and jalapeno sausage with tater salad, green beans and peach cobbler. Brisket-EXTREMELY tender, juicy, great bark and seasoned perfectly. Slices were almost 1/2 inch thick and just melted in my mouth. Ribs- cooked more like competition style, not fall off bone but had to bite each piece off the bone, but not too tough. Just but and gently pulled off. Awesome flavor with the seasoning. Jalapeno sausage- was more of a pepper sausage than jalapeno. Not greasy at all Green beans- I was shocked at the great flavor of the beans. Visually looked boring but surprisingly had lots of flavor to them. Tater salad (potato salad for those not from the south)- traditional mustard based tater salad. Mustard not too over powering and taste truly homemade. Peach Cobbler- the only thing that would have made it better would have been some blue bell on top. I wish I had come here sooner instead of waiting till the end of my stay but there were a bunch of other places I had to eat first. Was best way to finish my 6 month stay here in Corpus Christi.

Great food here ! Super fresh with an updated twist ! Flavors on the Birria Ramen were exsposive ! Beef enchiladas were also bomb ! And bathrooms were very pleasant! Blueberry biscuits sweet ! enjoy!

Nice little restaurant. They have the best horchata to-date that I've had outside of Mexico. It was creamy and delicious. I had the grilled shrimp plate. Very good, but you'd better bring your appetite. My husband had the carne guisada and cheese enchilada plate and said it was good.

I recently visited El Porto Mexican Restaurant while in town for work and stopped in after a long day. I decided to try the quesabirria tacos, and they did not disappoint – the food was delicious. However, what truly stood out to me was the exceptional service. It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced such attentive yet unobtrusive service. The balance was perfect: the staff checked in just enough to ensure everything was going well without interrupting the meal, and if I needed anything, they were always easy to flag down. The restaurant was clean, fast, and the staff was incredibly friendly. It felt like they truly cared about providing a great experience, and I was treated like I was part of the family. I truly believe that if more restaurants could master this level of service combined with friendly staff, they would have booming businesses. I didn’t catch the name of the lady who served me, but I paid out at 6:33 PM, so hopefully, you can track her down and thank her on my behalf. Overall, the experience was exceptional, and the food was a steal at only $20. I ended up tipping $30, which is the highest tip I’ve ever given (150%) at any restaurant. I’m grateful for the great service and will definitely be returning! Thank you again!

This is a place that you might overlook. But I tell you what, this is a place that you are needing to try. The FOOD and SERVICE is AMAZING... Truly MEXICAN FOOD at its FINEST...!

I was really excited to try this place based on the positive reviews, but I left feeling disappointed and confused. The food was mediocre, and some of the dishes didn’t match traditional expectations. For instance, the gorditas looked very different from the authentic ones you’d find if you searched online. The gordita was very dry. The cheese on the enchiladas was thick, cold and chewy, which made it difficult to enjoy. On a positive note, the staff was friendly, but unfortunately, the food just didn’t live up to the hype of the reviews.

My breakfast was what I was hoping for!! The barbacoa was moist, fresh tasting , but not greasy at all. My eggs were cooked perfectly, and their homemade corn tortillas were very flavorful. Service was fast, and the waitress was attentive and friendly. The place is spacious and clean looking. Prices are great and plate was well served.

Great Mexican spot! We tried the gordita, multiple tacos, quesadilla, and mocajete. All of it hit the spot and this is definitely a spot to check out if you’re in town. The servings were quite big and we ended up taking some boxes home.

Been going here for better part of a decade, generally for their breakfast tacos and chilaquiles.. but I will say all the food here is good, decent portions for the price, good staff with happy attitudes, generally quicker service than most places on the island... You NEED to try this place out. I am picky when it comes to Mexican restaurants because most taste Fake. This place is 100% authentic Mexican food. We came to visit Corpus Christi Friday and had this place for dinner and HAD to come back Saturday morning. It was that good. Their flour tortillas are fluffy and have a good flavor to them they don’t taste fake. And the meat is well seasoned and tender. I got the beef milanesa and for breakfast I had the chilaquiles and a bacon & egg taco. I enjoyed them both. The green salsa is very good too. Please try them out! The service is very great too.

Very good Mexican food. The Al pastor was flavorful. The queso and salsa are both spicy, so beware if that’s not your thing. I love sour cream, and the side order is a huge amount which was perfect! The tacos, burritos, and quesadillas were all excellent and large portions. Good value for the price. The service wasn’t super and the atmosphere is nothing special.

Awful. This run-down, less-than-clean dive is a chaotic mix between Dine-In and Drive-Thru and offers zero reassurance on up-to-code cleanliness. The staff, a motley crew of college-aged young adults, are friendly, but are not professional, or attentive, and are less-than-presentable in terms of uniform/food safety clothing. Though it should be noted, I did see one hair net in use amongst the 5 teammates who should have been using them. Let's talk about the food. Using "food" loosely here... My order was supposed to be - 2 chicken tacos with cilantro and onion and 2 al pastor tacos with cilantro only. I received - 4 egg tacos, 2 chicken tacos all the way, 2 al pastor tacos all the way. None of which were made with Taco tortillas. Apparently, here they use some kind of pita-like bread as taco tortillas. The "salsa" is something akin to sink water and tomato juice. Skip it and just drink bath water instead. It's important to note that though we did not order the egg tacos, they were dangerously undercooked. The chicken tasted like cat food. The pastor was good, but not great, and was swimming in oil and grease. TL;DR, don't eat here. This place is dying and we need to let it before someone gets sick or dies. Or the owners need to mount a strong executive presence immediately and effect positive change.

Ordered a carne asada taco but got ground beef. Even tho he read it back to me twice. The guy at the window had no personality or hospitality. the salsa is very watery and the cheese they use is horrible. . The only thing good about this place is their watermelon frescas and the serving sizes of bacon.

Those in the area will know what gem this place is: this review is for the others. . We visited after a brief visit to a local, who recommended their tacos. There was quite a line for the drive through, but luckily we planned to dine-"in". . Parking out front, we entered via the chain link gate. This place clearly gets busy, as there was seating for multitudes and standing for even more. We walked up to the unprepossessing order window and studied what to have. . I decided on the Brisket taco ("Do you want BBQ sauce" , huh? On a taco?) and a Picaddillo taco, plus unsweet tea. We sat at a picnic table, and the cashier brought us our drinks. A very few minutes later, she brought us tacos. . Yeah, they are superb. The tortillas are awesome, and stuffed with almost too much fillings. We also had a few of they salsas in the bag. . The brisket was truly top-notch, not too lean and tossed in BBQ sauce. I was surprised to see pickles too. This was like a brisket sandwich, but using a tortilla. The picaddillo taco was equally perfect, filled plentifully with delicious meat and [potatoes] (maybe? It was fantastic) . There was nothing about the experience that was at all bad. Really excellent meal. . They do have a drive through. When busy, the locals came in to the window and left a few minutes later. . If I lived anywhere close, I'd definitely be a regular.

The food in this establishment is delicious, from taquitos, to caldos , gorditas to aguas frescas. My favorite are the brisket and steak tacos , they are the bomb. Watermelon drinks so good and refreshing. Plenty of benches to sit down and eat. The personnel is so nice and attentive great customer service. Restroom is available as well. I love this place and highly recommend it. Thumbs up👍

I got the carne asada, and it was okay.... The rice was meh, and the beans were okay also the chips were not good. But the place is not bad. I had better spots in corpus.

The food isn’t bad, reasonably priced, it feels like almost any normal taqueria, only problem is when I visited drive through and ordered a lemonade, I nearly finished it only to find a fly in the drink. I noticed when I was eating the ice, thankfully I did look or I would have been eating an insect sooner than later.

Out visiting corpus with my family and I have two picky eaters but my eldest commented so well for their food. Literally great food, we got tacos and enjoyed it. Staff, our waitress was amazing. I couldn’t catch her name as I was literally trying to eat with sleepy toddler in my arms. Pic was just my plate.

I had a Mexican plate, which I usually order, but this is the first time I received a carne asada taco on corn instead of a crispy taco. I was skeptical at first, but it was delicious! Very pleasantly surprised. The waitress was wonderful, service was quick and food was yummy and accurate. Great reasonable prices as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and come back again when we're in town for the beach.

Food is outstanding. Service is a hit and miss. Sometimes amazing and sometimes okay. Some servers don't speak English which is a communication failure. Basic English is a must. When in Rome. Unsweetened tea had to be remade a couple of times. No sugar please.

Wow so I go here all the time. It's not the best but it's ok. I called to let them know my cheese dip was watery and clumpy and they might want to let whoever is serving to know. Well at first she said I don't know and I reiterated what it was like and she mocked me and said very rudely and exaggerated "oookkkk gooddddniiiight". I hope they actually saw the cheese dip and felt bad. Also one of the caldos I ordered wss suppose to be without chucken and they both had chicken. I was just trying to let them know. Lost a customer and I will let others know.

Come and eat some simple / good Mexican food. Service is on point 90% of the time. Food prep 90% as well. Medium well does not always show up correctly, nore does scrambled SOFT.. Still good eats 😋

Santa Rosa is a nice family owned Mexican restaurant that's popular with many long term Corpus residents and neighborhood locals. From the outside you might guess it's not the kind of place you'd drive all the way across town for just for dinner, but once you've tried it you may change your mind. I had the Beef Enchilada plate with chili sauce, and of course this is a classic favorite for many. It's delicious. And at under $12, it is a bargain. I saw many other things on the menu I want to come back and try now that I know how good it is.

I called ahead of time to find out what the lunch special was and it was Calabasa con Pollo, so we ordered two plates through the drive-through when I got home mine had no calabasa which was the reason I had ordered this , I live far from there, it not easy just to return to prove to them, I told them I could provide pictures, we also waited for quite a while before receiving our order, mind you were were the only ones in the drive through, the other plate you could tell had been warmed in microwave to the point the container bubbled up, I called this morning and the man that answered was very rude, saying it was policy to return the food back that day, check your order before leaving! Won’t return ! Feb 20 2024, disappointed!

First few times my wife and I ate there was ok but after awhile the place went downhill. Flies don't let us eat, the bistek was rancid and we thought they'd fix the issue. Caldos were cold, Waitresses are always in a hurry to get your order and expect you to know their way of speaking. They lost 2 customers as of today.

As regards the breakfast taquito: delicious homemade flour and corn tortillas of generous size and tasty fillings (egg… a la Mexicana… or with… bean or bacon or sausage or nopal, etc.) are the hallmarks of Santa Rosita. To boot, here will you find decent coffee, authentic beans, and ATTENTIVE service! My only beef is with the acoustics inside….the tile floor (which is attractive and clean, mind you) does make for a loud ambience. I LOVED the windows, which wrap around and give a natural light and elegance to the place. Thank you to the staff for all wearing masks. I highly recommend, and, if you’re in a hurry, the drive through looks great! Another amazing gem of a Mexican restaurant staffed with kind people in CC!!

El Jalisco Grill is by far my favorite restaurant! I absolutely love the staff, especially the girl that works at the drive through window! I always order the grande quesadilla with barbacoa with a side of chips and queso and it NEVER fails me. I got the Piña Loco this time. A hollowed out half of a grilled pineapple stuffed with beef, chicken, and shrimp fajitas, covered in Monterey jack cheese. Sooooo good. Everything I've had there has been delicious.

Good food and service, and a great value considering the price. Fajitas have a nice char, but still tender and juicy. My daughter had the birria ramen, and she really enjoyed it as well. Will definitely be back next time we’re in town.

A solid spot for some good breakfast tacos and breakfast plates ALL DAY! We’re huge fans of their machacado plate and their tacos. Their bacon and egg (while a simple taco) is great. The salsas are also really good and pretty much top off every meal. BONUS - They put more flour tortilla chips in the basket than other places do.

THEIR PRICES HAVE DOUBLE!! Today I ordered over the phone for take out, I haven’t ordered in a while, so I look at their website to see the menu and their prices, when I arrived to pick up my order they charge me and realized for one of the ordered they were charging me $16.98 for a quesadilla plate when on their website said $8.99 TWICE of what it said on the website, I asked and the lady gave me attitude after I told her they should change their menu on their website as well, to the one they got in there! Really unprofessional and after I try to tell her I understand cause I didn’t asked to be change after what it said it should have been (Cause that the right thing to do) and she sigh so loud when I was on my way to the door. Really bad service and the food is not that good. I’ll never be coming back to this restaurant.

One of my favorite places to go for breakfast Tacos when I visit Corpus. The flour tortillas are very good! My parents eat there for breakfast at least 3 times a week.

The prices were very high for what was served, and the portions were surprisingly small. The flavor of the dishes was underwhelming compared to other Mexican restaurants I’ve tried in the area. I think there’s room for improvement in both taste and value.

Very friendly staff, I constantly have favor orders here & absolutely enjoy how accommodating and nice the employees are here. They have a huge taco challenge, & chicken fried steak challenge, that I have been wanting to try, but haven't practiced for. My bf had the picadillo plate & I had Mary's plate which consists of 2 enchiladas, 1 crispy taco, 1 chalupa, beans & rice. I wasn't a fan of the rice but everything else was muy bien. I reccomend, pretty quick service too.

Amazing meal today and the friendliest service I’ve had in a while. Chicken Friday steak was the lunch special so I tried it out. The CFS was really good and the batter stuck to every bite. Mashed potatoes were great and the corn had a nice buttery flavor. I don’t get to Corpus as much as I would like, but next time I’m definitely coming here for some tacos and a torta.

Pretty solid food for a good price. Be aware that this restaurant and drive through or to-go only. No inside dining. There are several picnic benches if you want to eat there. But definitely something to be aware of during the summer in Corpus. Side note- I’m not sure who’s Tio made the picnic benches, but the proportions are not right. My husband and i were in the area for Memorial Day weekend. We ended up eating here 3x because the food is delicious and HOT. Seldom do you get to eat hot 🔥 food anymore that tastes great. To add, this place is very budget friendly!! I highly recommend!! All the workers are extremely well spoken and courteous. Food was great we had asked for their medium size tacos when we got them they looked a bit small but they were not greedy with the meat in the taco which brought it up to the medium we had ordered. I get my breakfast here before work often. They are quick, and I obviously like the food. 😁 The drive thru line can get easily backed up into the street, but staff will come out to manually take your order and have you move to the side to help get you out of traffic.

Don’t order their desserts. I ordered their tres leches cake for a little celebration and it was a bummer.Their cakes are sitting in the fridge growing fungus. So disappointing that rather than addressing the issue they just turned me over saying that I wasn’t there last night. Very inconsiderate. Also the food we ordered was ok. They did not understand my order and the final dish had things I did not choose for.

The food was good, I’ll give them that! The service was friendly, though a bit so-so overall. What really bothered me, however, was that they added a service charge to my bill without any explanation. On top of that, they also tacked on an extra charge for an item that is normally included in the dish I ordered, and I wasn’t told about it beforehand. Because of that, I’d recommend being careful and checking your bill closely if you decide to visit.

We came in at 10:45 pm , the place was busy considering the late time… everyone in the kitchen was working so hard getting the orders out. If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD!! This was our first time and last time!!!! First, the customer service was horrible!! Second, I asked for my avocado salsa, I did NOT receive it. Beef street tacos were HORRIBLE!!! No cilantro whatsoever, looked absolutely NOTHING like the advertisement!!! Third, I got back to my hotel and was not even given utensils to eat my food!!!!! I rarely leave any reviews on food places but I just had to this one time. Specifically for this location in Corpus. I’ve had such a great experience. Their manager went above and beyond to fix a problem with my order. She was very informative, helpful and friendly. Also their cashier was super nice too. Such a great place and of course their food was peak!!!

The avacado salsa was pretty good, Idk why I was expecting it to be bland, but it really wasn't. I enjoyed our meal here, I didn't even know they had breakfast, so we plan on making another trip during the morning hours to try it out. We reccomend. This location was much better than the old one that was on Saratoga.

Today we were pleasantly surprised with the service! A young man by the name of Albert did an amazing job! He was polite, kind, and courteous! I’m so happy they have people like this working there because my last experience, which was a couple of months ago was not so pleasant. This is easily the worst food place in corpus, and it’s all managements/ the owners fault. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a slower and more mismanaged “fast” food place. I have had time(30 minutes) to write this review, send it to my editor for revisal, and go through the entire publishing process, and have yet to receive my food. My grandkids will hopefully someday get to taste it.(oh and the people behind me already got their food). I ordered 2 tacos and a quesadilla for gods sake. The only saving grace about this place is that it is good, tasty food, being supported by a kind and completely overworked, sanity drained, and underpaid staff, who are constantly having to make up for the piss poor management. Thankfully, the general manager was there this time, so he could refund my order(half of it now that I’m looking at the receipt) after it was found that my food was finished, just not in the proper spot to be handed to me. This is why the people behind me got their food first. But this is not the first time this has happened, it won’t be the last, and that is a sign that there is a reason the Palenque on Saratoga had to close and rebrand to a fried chicken variant. To Management/owner - get your shit together. Stop having your staff ask for good reviews to artificially inflate your Google score, they are not earned they are begged for. Train your staff better, or set expectations out the gate that you have to raise your damn cattle before you slaughter and process the meat, because I have no clue how you make 2 tacos and a quesadilla take 30 minutes. Do something because whatever the hell you’re doing isn’t working. Shit, post this on the fridge at home if you have to have a damn reminder to do your job better. To the consumer: this place is delicious, and SOMETIMES worth the wait - but if you don’t have 30 minutes to wait for your food in the DRIVE THRU, go to a Mexican restaurant where at least you get free freakin chips while you wait. Do better.

Got recommended this place by many on reddit.Place was full with a biker gang.We sat at a table that had a bell on the wall, I touched the rope of the bell and it rang one time.Which prompted the bartender to yell out something like "Be careful w that bell, you don't know what that means,You don't want to ring that with these guys in here" ??? Not sure if the bell was some sort of biker gang joining bell but vibes were for sure off.

This cafe is in the museum, you have to stop and get some pin to enter the restaurant from a basket in the gift shop, but the view is very beautiful , of the bay. The food was really good but I like the vibe of the other Hester's location.

The all-glass walls at Hester's at the Art Museum provide spectacular views of CC Bay, the Harbor Bridge and the city's top two attractions on North Beach (Aquarium and Lexington). The food is healthy, fresh and one of the "sure bets" for having a really good lunch in Corpus Christi. It's inside the museum, but they allow you to enter for free if you are dining at Hester's. Service is fast and quality is dependable.

It was ok. Ambiance was great, people there very friendly. Sandwich I had only ok. Salad it came with only had greens, but had a nice balsamic vinaigrette. Lemonade was good, and the capachino nice, but would have been better with China. But the real issue I had is if your just going in for lunch the front desk stops you, you have to go through the museum. Been to all the hesters, probably wouldn't go back to this one.

I ordered a pound of barbacoa, a quart of beans, and some flour tortillas. The restaurant is quite small and primarily serves as a takeout location without a drive-through. My daughters enjoyed the barbacoa and beans very much. The flour tortillas could be improved. We all thoroughly appreciated the red and green salsa; it truly elevated the barbacoa. There are only about three tables for dine-in customers, so the seating area is limited. I received a warm welcome upon entering, and everyone was friendly and helpful. I would certainly return to pick up barbacoa again.

We frequently visit Corpus from San Antonio. On this trip we decided to eat somewhere different. After narrowing it down we decided on this lovely spot and it did not disappoint. The owners and staff were EXTREMELY friendly and the barbacoa was so delicious. The seating is limited but it's OK since most everyone is taking to go. We will definitely be back on our next trip. Mrs. B’s Barbacoa, is a great place and very family oriented. I recommend this place. Nice and clean like mamas kitchen. Everyone come by there open on Saturday and Sundays. Make sure come early because they sell out.

Me and the and I fell in love with this place. We love a good taco truck. The weather was perfect for sitting at the picnic tables and the food was some of the best birria tacos I've ever had

Freaking amazing food. We got the Chilaquiles, shrimp cocktail, and sopes. The birria was so delicious on the sopes & chilaquiles, best chilaquiles I’ve ever had. The shrimp cocktail had tons of shrimp in it and was super filling my husband loved it. I live in Austin and eat a lot of Mexican food but this tops all.

Best birria in town. We had the birria quesitacos and the birria sopes. I’ve never had sopes before and I loved them, super flavorful and meaty! The quesitacos are delicious filled with birria and the caldito de birria was so tasty. Only thing I would recommend is a tent or something for when it rains I hope they will have a restaurant soon cause it is so good! Demasiado rico!

10 out of 10, definitely recommend this taco truck. Great food, reasonable prices, and fast service. Will make this a reoccurring trip

Everyone was really friendly and kind. Also Have some music playing setting the vibe. There was plenty of parking and seating ( picnic tables ) available. Making this experience even better. The flour queso birria, birria ramen and horchata🤌🏻😚💋 chef kiss. I had a great first experience. I will be back Again try more off this tasty menu.

I rarely have the opportunity to give a business 5 stars. Luckily for my husband and I, our take out order from a different restaurant was canceled, and we were able to sunblock upon this food truck. It has to be in my top 3 for best tacos ice ever had so far. My husband and I both did the mini tacos, which were AMAZING. My husband also tried the ramen. I did taste a fork full, and it was ok. I got the 4×4 burrito, and it was also good. The tacos were the main characters, though. Defintely recommend. I will be returning to try other menu items.

Great experience! They don’t have a huge menu. . . but they’ve got enough exceptional offerings that I struggled to make a decision for a reasonable order. My experience with birria leads me to believe that consume is king. If the consume is great, the birria is great. And the consume is great. I’m a sucker for sopes, so I also tried the birria sopes. . . just wonderful. The salsas are tasty, but I would have liked a bit more spice. I’ll ask next time. They may have been trying to protect me. Mi piel es güero, pero mi panza es pura mexicana. How could they know? Great place, and I’ll be back for sure

I am a Student Pastor at a local church and we go to this restaurant every Sunday after services and enjoy the food. we regularly have 15 of us in there and they accommodate all of our needs as well as all of the different tastebuds walking in those doors. Never any complaints always amazing.

The staff is always wonderful ! All of our food is made to order so its nice and fresh everytime. And soooo very very yummy . This has been my moms and eyes favorite Mexican restaurant for the past five years and that's not going to change anytime soon thank you for the great service thank you for the great food and keep up the great work God bless

Horrible customer service , Plain out rude. Brought a friend from out of town to eat there it's lunch time you would Think that they would be nice enough to at least serve chips right ?everybody around at least had some .Not even that they took forever to get our order and to even bring the drinks . The food was good can't complain about the food , but the Service is horrible

Padre Island location service is rude and unprofessional. They get my order wrong every time I go to the drive thru and they make no effort to compensate or apologize when you call or go back. I keep hoping the food and service improves but it is slop on both accounts. Eat at Stripes next door. .better food for a third of the price.

Horrible service! Came in on Christmas Eve to enjoy some tacos and coffee. & Denise refused to make a pot of coffee and I had to pay her $10 just to have coffee! They need to get some better management in that place!

Great food, great service, great price. Love this place. The breakfast is my favorite. If by haps you need a bit of the hair the dog, they have a full bar too boot.

Great food! Went to Corpus Christi for vaca and dropped in here for lunch the ground beef chimichanga was huge and so good salsa was yummy and the good kind of spicy! Very good place to stop Looks a little run down from the outside and the seeting is dated but food and service was spectacular

I’ve been eating this place everyday since last week! Omg everything I try is so delicious, and that’s because I’m so picky!!!! This was the best tortilla soup I’ve ever had!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything is flavorful , I love it!

Love this place. The chicken tortilla soup is the best. And their oatmeal is delicious. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommend.

AMAZING best Mexican food I’ve had in corpus and amazing service

Very bad service. We waited 40 minutes for our order, when the waiter arrived alone with my husband's plate, when I asked for my plate, she told me what they were preparing, I had to wait another 15 minutes more ... I finally arrived with my soup, also cold .. not recommended, we will never return

The Chicken Tortilla Soup is delicious! Fresh, homemade taste and topped with thick sliced of avocado - yum!
