Red’s Giant Hamburg is a classic diner in Springfield that originally opened in 1967 on Route 66. Although it closed in 1984, it was recreated by a new owner in 2019 at a new location to capture the original vibe. The place offers delicious burgers and amazing fries, with a nostalgic 'Rte 66' feel and plenty of memorabilia. Additionally, nearby America's Incredible Pizza Co.
What a cute little fun place to eat! Burgers were on point! Can’t go wrong with Red’s sauce (basically a thousand island) with grilled onions! Fun fact, first drive thru invented in 1947! If you are in Springfield definitely a gem worth stopping in! And if you are a root beer fan, get the root beer! 😋

Pulled into the drive through sat for ten minutes said hello multiple times no response pull to the window honk the horn a couple times nothing. Then go inside and was like is no one working here a lady comes up asks what’s wrong I explain she doesn’t apologize says I can take your order here. I’m pretty sure she was high had to explain my order five times for her to get it right pay and wait. 17 minutes later I get my order all while watch the cook with no hats or hair nets scratching adjusting and no changing glove get home the burgers are bloody in the middle. The fries have the consistency of cold wet pasta do not eat at this place ever

Worst experience ever. We both ordered the giant with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles. I specifically asked for extra pickles and onions. They gave me regular pickles and onions. No lettuce or tomato. My fiance got ketchup and mustard. No lettuce, tomato, onion, or pickles. I had to go to the counter to ask for lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles. I was told they would bring me the pickles, 20 minutes later and still no pickles. The fries had no flavor. It was like eating deep fried cardboard. My fiance opted for the chili cheese fries. It had diced onions on it along with huge chunks of onions. To make matters worse is the fry cook has a full beard with no hair net. So don't be surprised if you end up with hair in your food. "Red's" sauce is nothing more than thousand Island dressing. You would be better off going to McDonald's or Burger King. Don't waste your time or money. They got 1 star because the bathroom was nice and clean.

(EDIT) Get here before May 14th. Ted's is going up for auction and we dont know if it will be back. And you can tell the staff is going through the motions at this point. The fried chicken was dark but not burnt, our order was incomplete, and the friendliness is practically non-existent. If i could take it on, i would; hopefully, the next owners will maintain the vision. My mom is visiting from NH in July, and she would have loved this place. Get it while you can. Or don't. I'm not sure it matters anymore.

Stopped in on a trip to Springfield, was a Sunday afternoon so it wasn't super busy. Hamburgers are smashed so they have that texture that makes it crispy. Really great flavor that everyone enjoyed. One of us had a chicken sandwich that was huge and very good. They were out of coke and Dr pepper, which seemed strange, but they had Abita root beer on tap! Great atmosphere with a very unique vibe. We all enjoyed a great meal! Staff was very friendly and patient as our large party ordered at the counter.
Murray S — Google review
Very cool retro restaurant! The inside is well decorated with colorful old fashioned seating and old photos on the wall. This place was the first Drive Thru restaurant in the US. The food itself was quite good. The burger and vanilla malts were decent, but my favorite thing was by far the fried chicken. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and super moist and tender on the inside. I would highly recommend getting the chicken! The chicken pieces are quite generously sized. Customer service was very friendly and quick. On the day I went, the owner of the restaurant was there. He checked on his employees and then came over to the seating area to eat his own lunch order from the restaurant. I think this speaks positively for the restaurant. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Big thank you to the nicest young men who accommodated us on the night before Easter. They deserve a raise! The food is great. Top notch burgers are among the best in the nation. Fries are great. The atmosphere and decor is fun and comfortable. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend! I will go out of my way to go back every time I’m in the area.

We took a weekend trip to Springfield and highly recommend eating here. The atmosphere is old 50s-60s Rockabilly The decor is indescribable, so look at my pics There are pictures of celebrities everywhere and music is playing through old drive in radio speakers at booths The food was great and served quickly We could not finish all the French fries Step into the past on old Route 66 and get your kicks at Reds Oh, it’s also the first roadside diner to have a drive up window Enjoy

Don Toño Mexican Food is a popular food truck located on Glenstone Avenue in Springfield, Missouri. They offer an array of delicious Mexican street food, including mouthwatering street tacos with fillings like barbacoa, chicken, and asada. Their specialty is the Mexican street corn, which is a must-try for anyone visiting the area. In addition to their stationary trailer, they also operate a mobile food truck that serves hungry customers throughout Springfield.
These dudes stopped in bolivar so we hit it up. It was great. Street Tacos are fire 8.5/10 Tamales was good 8/10 Birra taco 7/10 Salsa Roja is HOT Chilaquila in a box was great 9/10

Might be the best tacos in southwest Missouri but since I have spent most of my life in San Diego, Dallas and Denver I have to be honest and say that they are good but not great. If you live in Springfield then go. You won’t find better street tacos unless you’re traveling.
John K — Google review
It's a neat little Food Truck tucked in between a Dollar Tree and Neighborhood Walmart. The food was fantastic and tasty. They have a cute little awning you can sit under and eat or take it to go!
Alyssa H — Google review
Nice taco truck with tasty and interesting selections. We tried the Birria Tacos and Nachos Especial. The taco meat was delicious and the nachos with corn were a fun treat.
Adam P — Google review
This is an actual taco truck that has a covered area right up front. Tacos are amazing and they do have other stuff. Not tried the other stuff (except corn [elotes]) because the tacos are just so amazing though. There was a whole huge line of people getting food while we were there. I usually go for the tripa tacos but I've tried the others and they are really good too.
Zach A — Google review
There's simply no possibility of ever eating anything from here that isn't absolutely amazing! Quality ingredients is key and that's all they serve! Multiple meat options all of which are bomb. Tried my first torta here and had a life changing experience. This place is bucket list status. I'm going out on a limb here but I'm gonna go ahead and state best authentic Mexican style street food in Springfield, MO.

Food is always fresh and so so delicious! Everyone that works there is super friendly ! Love this little place ! I swear if you haven't tried their street tacos your definitely missing out ! Go give them a try you won't regret it !

Steak house
Black Sheep Burgers and Shakes is a trendy, brick-walled bar and eatery that offers a unique dining experience for burger enthusiasts. The diner takes the classic American burger to new heights with its distinct flavors and high-quality ingredients. Signature dishes like the Cowboy Carl feature juicy beef patties, crisp bacon, cheese, and a special house sauce. Additionally, they offer decadent shakes crafted to sweet treat perfection. The restaurant boasts a diverse menu of scrumptious burgers and delicious shakes.
We came here while visiting our daughter. The food was amazing the truffle fries, sweet potato fries with peanut butter and marshmallow creme, the nachos with pork and all the burgers were perfect. No complaints and I ordered the round and round drink with vodka, blackberries, and mint. Best drink I've had in a very long time. And our waiter Austin was so friendly, helpful, and thoughtful. If we are in srpingfield again we all agreed we will def visit again.

This was the surprise of our day. In town for a college visit for our daughter and after a long day we were starving. Our MSU tour guide mentioned this place during our tour so we thought we would check it out. I love a good burger and this place did not disappoint. We ordered the Truffle Parmesan fries to share and they absolutely delicious! Good call on the fries for sure. Our server brought all of the sauces for us to try and we enjoyed most of them but they really weren’t needed because the fries were amazing on their own. I ordered the Foodie burger and oh my it was tasty. Our daughter got the Ugly Cheeseburger and she ate every bite with a smile on her face. My wife ordered the Hippie Jen because she doesn’t eat meat. She liked it, but it didn’t knock her socks off like our burgers did to us. Overall, it was a great experience. Very friendly staff, cool atmosphere and one of my favorite burgers in years. If our daughter chooses MSU. I’m sure this will my regular spot when I visit.
Christopher D — Google review
Black Sheep is a great choice. Menu is perfect for any burger lover! I had a gluten free bun on the bacon burger. It was fantastic! The onions were way overdone so if you don’t like onions make sure to ask for none. If you don’t mind onions or like them but don’t want them to over power the sandwich then definitely as for light onions. The bacon was really good on the burger! My grandson got the Parmesan fries and the bowl was HUGE! He loved the fries and he is only 18 months old. The service was great, however they served could have given us a refill much sooner than he did. Our glasses were completely empty for a while, but he was still a great server. Super nice. We will definitely be back!
Amber E — Google review
Black sheep was good as I had hoped! We were taking a trip, and this was a stop on the way. You step inside to a great atmosphere and are kindly welcomed. They have burgers that are different, which sets them apart from every other burger place. They have traditional too, but they offer great French fry choices too. Great sauces as well. They have an array of shakes, with or without alcohol, ours were without since we were on the road to another destination.
Brent A — Google review
Damn! That's a good burger. A co-worker ordered for our group earlier this week. It was so good, I've been thinking about it since then. So, tonight I confirmed my first impression - damn good burgers. In general, the restaurant is an odd blend of hipster meets greasy-flat-top burger joint. It's nice but not pretentious, blah blah blah. Whatever. The important part: both burgers devolved into six napkins and a fork to finish. That's just flexing. My co-worker called this place the "best burgers in Missouri" - I was skeptical at first, but...
Jason S — Google review
Amazing place to grab a beer and burger. The service stands out as friendly and efficient. I ordered a burger and cheese curds, the cheese curds were amazing , surely a shareable plate there was a lot. The spicy mayo was amazing. Surely a 'will visit again" place.
Papz E — Google review
I loved eating here, I called ahead to see what kind of cocktails they offered, and they had a great array of milkshakes that they can make with or without cocktails. Overall great price we literally had 2 cocktails, 2 burgers and an appetizer and it was under $60. Loved it, I got the Light My Fire Burger 10/10 definitely recommend
Soph C — Google review
Very cute atmosphere, rustic and modern! The Garlic Truffle fries are to DIE for! That is my most suggested food item. I did get the Blue Cheese burger which was delicious. Everything tasted like it was made in house. Prices are great for what you get. Jose was our server, he was friendly and very informative on the menu choices!

Flame Steakhouse & Wine Bar is a chic two-level restaurant that specializes in a variety of high-quality steaks, seafood, and an extensive selection of wines. While the beef is the star of the show, their refined seafood options like the popular ahi tuna dish are equally enticing. The highest-grade ahi tuna is flown in from Hawaii twice a week and served with flavorful sides like wasabi slaw and mashed potatoes with candied bacon.
Had an amazing experience at this steakhouse. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely top-notch. The steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. Every bite was worth it. What really made the evening even better was the server, Drew. He was friendly and attentive. He gave great recommendations and made sure everything was just right throughout my meal. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a great steak and outstanding service. Ask for Drew — you won’t be disappointed!

We had our first experience at Flame and it was delicious. They had lost the reservation of our party but seated us Red Room downstairs. We are glad we sat downstairs which seemed more intimate and quiet. The steak was cooked to perfection and most of the sides were tasty.
Mike D — Google review
In town for a family wedding and wanted a quick but special dinner for our 9th wedding anniversary…a google search of best restaurants directed us to Flame and everything was delicious! The crust on my filet was perfect, I loved my Flirtini, the potatoes, the dessert, everything was wonderful. Jace took great care of us, he knew the menu well, we took his suggestions and loved everything. Tonight’s hostess Riley was very sweet and took a beautiful picture of us, too! Hats off to the entire staff, can’t say enough good things! Thank you for a fantastic evening!

This place is BEYOND words. The food is top notch and the cocktails are amazing. It’s a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. My husband and I got steaks that were top notch. We got the cheesecake tree and the crème brûlée for dessert, both phenomenal. Abby was our server and she was beyond great. This was our first time in and she was so welcoming. She has an amazing personality and we wanted for nothing. She alone would be worth coming back for!!
Kristen C — Google review
This was our first visit at Flame. It was my birthday dinner. We had the filet mignon, smoked fries, asparagus, cheddar jalapeño mashed potatoes and broccoli. Everything was delicious and perfect. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We highly recommend this wonderful steakhouse and we will definitely be back.
Yvonne B — Google review
Without question the best steak I've had in my living memory. Perhaps ever. Attentive and friendly service without pretentiousness. A special gem is the closeout wine list. Incredible bargains on excellent wines. The space is old school intimate and charming. A classic steakhouse of the best kind.
Kevin A — Google review
Had great food here, go about 2-3 per yr and tonight was close to expected. We had quite a few leftovers and were asked by our server if he could box them up for us. They did so but put everything in one box making it mush in a box. Also forgot our drinks a couple times, not a super big deal but for the upscale experience the restaurant offers and charges for it wasn’t living up to standards. Probably like $55 worth of leftovers mushed in the box.
Dane M — Google review
WOW!! The food. The drinks. The service quality. The ATMOSPHERE. It was all perfect!! We had the Snake River Gold grade 6 oz. American Wagu fillet and holy cow I’ve never tasted something so tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. Paired that with a bottle of Pietro Dal Cero 2012 and it was pure heaven on earth!!

Chinese restaurant
Leong's Asian Diner is a laid-back Chinese restaurant with a full bar, renowned for its signature dish, cashew chicken. The eatery has an interesting history dating back to 1963 when David Leong created Springfield-style cashew chicken to cater to the American palate. This innovative dish became a local favorite and continues to be served at Leong's Asian Diner today.
The OG of all cashew chicken! This was a staple every weekend in my household growing up in the 80s. Every time I come back to Springfield, I always get an order of cashew chicken and this original dish did not disappoint. Great service! Super fun atmosphere plus they have two small private rooms or you can convert into one big room that host up to 50 people. You can have buffet style in that room or order individually. Again amazing service. Would recommend. Will come again.!
Stephen M — Google review
Tried several dishes here. Based on remembering GEE's on sunshine. The Cashew chicken was really good , sweet and sour pork as well. Beef and shrimp fried rice was excellent. Egg foo young was disappointing. Egg rolls had a bit too much peanut butter. The Wong tons had a great flavor and they have plum sauce which is awesome.
Paul L — Google review
Prices went up...again! Most definitely not worth the money. The food is maybe mediocre on its best day. This time, I ordered chicken fried rice: $10.99 lunch size. The fried rice was not fried but more mushy and lack of flavor big time. More like boiled rice with vegetables and meat. Couldn't finish it. Trash. I also ordered spring rolls: $7.99 for three. That's just crazy ridiculous price for three spring rolls. Over cooked on the outside but not quite done in the center. Didn't eat them. Trash. Finally, the sweet and sour chicken ($12.45 lunch) my daughter ordered was good to her so I can't complain on that. The inside has dust and spider webs everywhere. Clean bathroom. Overall, the food is nasty, the people are so sweet and kind and the prices are sky high. I won't be back and I won't recommend this place. I'm just being honest. I'll post pictures.

A friend of ours told us to check this place out, as the owner made the 1st cashew chicken. They were very busy, but our server was very direct and didn’t seem very happy. The cashew chicken was very good though, & my husband had the Asian salad which he enjoyed.

Came to try the Cashew Chicken, that I learned was this restaurant's invention from the documentary "The Search for General Tso". However, I was disappointed by the small portion size given how much they charged for the dish. The food tasted pretty good however.

First time eating here, food is amazingly good with large portions, service prompt and friendly, restaurant kept clean!! Highly recommended !!

We have eaten here several times. I always get the general chicken, hot with fried rice and an egg roll. The food always comes out hot, the chicken is tender and the vegetables are fresh.

Breakfast restaurant
Aviary by Lavender Falls Cafe offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with vintage accents, serving French-inspired fare such as crêpes and steak frites. The restaurant features a charming entrance with a hitching post and sidewalk tables for outdoor dining. Their menu includes delectable options like the Hen & Pine crêpe and the Green Goddess salad, along with tempting desserts like the Lemoncello crepe with marshmallow fluff.
Great place for breakfast or brunch! I got the Funkey Monkey crepes with banana, and it did not disappoint. As much as I loved the crepes, the Smoked Salmon Toast stole the show. This appetizer could pass as a meal. I was impressed with the taste and quality of the food. They didn't go cheap on the salmon either. That toast was loaded and delicious! The service was also good. I'll definitely be returning to Aviary. If you go around lunch hours, I would definitely recommend joining the wait list online if you plan on dining in.
Adam N — Google review
Overall cute restaurant but I would recommend avoiding Saturday brunch hours as it is very loud and chaotic during those hours making the whole experience less enjoyable. Had the burger with fries and it was really good and filling. The fries are more like a thick homemade chip and they are very good. I’ve also had the Nutella and fruit crepe in the past and they are okay- good value during happy hour if they still do that. Their crepes are on the thicker side though. I will say that despite how busy it is on Saturdays, the workers were still very nice and service was not overly slow.
Youjin N — Google review
It was my first time here and was not disappointed at all in fact it was beyond my expectations. My server Anna was amazing. She recommended everything and it was excellent. The two drinks were an almond joy latte and a raspberry mocha latte. For the meal it was the black and bleu crepe with loaded pomme frites. It was possible the best savory crepe I have ever tasted. The only thing I would critique is the pomme frites could’ve been seasoned or coated a little more for me but frankly that’s such a minimal issue. All in all I will definitely come back and next time I’ll bring my family.
Jeffrey N — Google review
Was a wonderful rustic environment with plenty of woodworking, low/natural lighting plenty of birdhouses painting and open outside views.Quick to seated even in a packed house service was slow, but that’s to be expected with how busy it was. Now on to the meat and potatoes, or should I say bacon and eggs I have the pleasure of trying the: IS IT MORNING? Topped With Crème Fraiche & Parmesan, filled with scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Caramelized Onion, cheddar jack cheese. Wrapped in made to order crepes. This was a very delectable way to have brunch all your tried and true classics rolled into a sweet and savory mix every thing melded well and it wasn’t overly sweet or salty. Was huge portion with 3 total crepes with a side. Speaking of sides the bacon cheddar Grits were to die for as a southerner born and raised these grits hit the spot so good I had to get some to take home. Overall the entire meal was filling tasty and not to costly with a price point of about 10-20$ a meal!

I've been here quite a few times since moving to Springfield and it has never dissapointed!! Such a good variety of sweet and savory crepes, sandwiches and more! On top of that, the decorations on the inside make for an "upscale" and cozy vibe. Of note, I've gotten to try: Drinks: Cafe bon bob, lavender latte Entrees: Breakfast Smashburger with Tomato Bisque soup, Steak and Eggs Crepe, Shrimp Scampi Crepes Dessert: Funky Monkey Sweet crepe with all 3 fruit Both of the drinks I tried were delicious, though if I had to choose between the two of them, I'd recommend the Cafe BonBon In terms of entrees, the Breakfast Smashburger was by far my favorite!! So many different flavors that blend well together. And if you're worried about the Sriracha aioli being too spicy, I can assure you that it isn't! I'm a wimp with spice and this wasn't spicy at all for me, it was more of an added flavor. The steak and eggs crepes was decent; however I wouldn't personally recommend the Shrimp Scampi crepes. Finally, it's hard to go wrong with the funky monkey crepes if you're looking for something sweet! A must visit Breakfast spot for any newcomers to Springfield!

A phenomenal rustic dining cafe nestled in a more trendy district of Springfield. I came with a group of six. Our server was kind, efficient, and helpful, and the menu was very accommodating to common allergens. I ordered the Black and Bleu savory crepe with a side of pomme frites, and it was absolutely divine. Wait times were less than ten minutes for the entire table. If I lived local to Springfield, I'd come back a thousand times. With vintage-style edison bulbs, plenty of natural wood, and a front-facing kitchen, the atmosphere was chic and relaxed. The bathrooms were clean and well-stocked. 10/10 would recommend.

Great place for breakfast and lunch. Service was great our waitress was friendly and personable. Food had great flavor, presentation and came out fast. I highly recommend the lemon blueberry crepes simply outstanding.

By far the best breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurant I’ve been to. There wasn’t a wait to be seated. I ordered a Carmel Macchiato, I really enjoy coffee and their macchiato is one of the best I’ve had. I recommend that or one of the Italian crème soda. Ordering our food was difficult bc I wanted to try multiple things. I can’t wait to go back and try the chicken and French toast. I decided on the breakfast poutine with the cheesy bacon grits, and my wife had the banana foster and of course it was incredible. Aviary’s is at the top of my list.

Mexican restaurant
Cesars Old Mexico is a cozy and inviting restaurant located in Springfield, offering a variety of hearty Mexican and Salvadoran dishes along with colorful cocktails. The menu features options like the slow-cooked Cesars pork, which is praised for its juicy and tender flavor. In addition to meat options, the restaurant also provides vegetarian choices. The atmosphere is described as lively, making it an ideal spot for casual dining with friends or alone. Customers appreciate the fast-paced service and consistently top-notch food quality.
Food was delicious, nice flavor and authentic Mexican vibes. Tortilla chips were fresh and the salsa was good. However, prices are a bit on the higher side which may not align with the casual diner out on a lunch date. If you're willing to spend a bit more for tasty food, it's worth a visit!

All around great Mexican food! The parking is a little tight but the environment is fun! Very eclectic with a huge bar. We arrived around 5:30 and got a seat at the empty bar. Chips and salsa were served and Drinks were ordered within a minute or two of sitting down. The food was out within 10-15 minutes and piping hot. We had the tropico fajitas and they were a hit! Chunks of pineapple, large shrimp, chicken and beef! My wife and I split it - the entree was around $25. For both of us with drinks was around $50 and that was with splitting the fajitas. I loved that they had their own beer which was tasty. The waitress was nice and super attentive. We’d love to come back and try more dishes!

Absolutely delicious. The salsa, queso, and chips were really good. I got the California burrito and do not underestimate when the waitress tells you. It’s their largest burrito. This could easily feed two people. The kids nachos are really good. They’ve got chicken or beef and the chicken ones were really good. Everything was perfect

Great place, would give it a 5 star but no corn tortillas with my posole which is standard and no rice and beans with my sopes which is standard. The staff couldn’t afford to eat here on their day off. 5 of us was $160 plus tip $190

Mrs. HB and I wanted something for dinner located somewhere on E. Sunshine, so we stopped in at Cesar's Old Mexico. The wait was not too bad (20 minutes), considering the parking lot was packed. I think that was a direct result of them being VERY well staffed. And Ruben, our waiter, was great. The food was tasty and hot. And the portion sizes were impressive! The table next to us ordered the California Burrito. It was HUGE! The ONLY knock on Cesar's is that it is loud, I mean really loud. In my opinion it's no one's fault. The staff and customers are just having a good time. I think it's just the way the building is built. If you are old enough to remember when Nick, Ruel, and Ned the band played there when it was McSalty's (after they moved from the Battlefield location), you'll understand. So, in closing, don't go to Cesar's if loud is not your thing. If you don't mind a "energetic vibe", give them a shot.

I’ve previously written a review for this place, but I feel like I need to update it. I’ve continued visiting this place for 3 reasons: The people/atmosphere , the food, and the location. Cesar and his wife Sandy have created a real jewel here. The food is consistent excellent, the service is great, the cooks have GOT to be the hardest working group in town (seriously, go there in the evening and watch from the bar. Best show in town), and all of the staff from Cesar to busboy are fantastic people. This is above all of the kindness and charity Cesar shows the Springfield community. No wonder he has so many return customers with a consistently busy restaurant. If you’re traveling through, or live here and looking for a great experience along with your Mexican food, stop in at Cesar’s Old Mexico. His Chile Verde in incredible, the pozole is excellent, and the vibe is beyond compare. Well done!

I wish id had known the California Burrito was the size of a newborn baby!! I went hungry and the California Burrito was HUGE!! I don't think I even conquered half of it. Had I not gone crazy on the chips and salsa I'd have been able to eat more. The Burrito was good with a great mix of stuff in it, not too much of one over the other. I had the Al Pastor in mine and it was very good flavorful. Definitely wanna go back here again and again. For four 4 pm on a Saturday it was already really busy by the time we left there was a wait to get in. Ruben our server was an awesome guy.

Diner
Restaurant
Casper's Diner is a cozy and quirky spot known for its comfort food like burgers and chili. The diner has garnered attention from both national publications and locals, making it a beloved hidden gem. Its offbeat, artsy decor adds to the intimate setting, with vibrant colors and posters adorning the walls. One of its highlights is the option to enjoy their famous chili by the cup or even take home a gallon.
Such a cool little place. The decor and food are both awesome, but the best part was the service. Our server gave us a brief history, sent us with packs of matches she had hand stamped, and was trying to give us to-go drinks. Can't ask for much more than that. The burgers and chili dogs were great! I will definitely be back next time I am in the area.
Ryan R — Google review
It was great diner food. I got Chili & cornbread and my sister got the burger and fries. Fun atmosphere with the people that work there calling out different things happening . You gotta try it for yourself. My sister and I waited in a 10 minute line and chose to eat at the counter because it has comfortable seats.
Yvonne S — Google review
Super great food. The burger and fries were delicious! Even the grilled cheese was super huge and cheesey! And the chili surprised me with how good it was. I don't normally like chili other than my own, but this was definitely worth getting. The only thing that disappoints me is how small the place is. They moved from their old building, which I thought was to facilitate more people, but the new building is just as small. So, if you wanna go, make sure you get there when they first open, or you will be waiting. Worth the wait though!
Kassandra D — Google review
Casper's is my favorite diner. I have been eating there about 15 years, started back in the original restaurant. The food is excellent, my favorite is the double whammy- 2 burgers smothered with chili & cheese. Better go hungry if you plan on ordering that. The service and staff is top notch. Friendly, timely, and efficient. It's a very comfortable setting and they don't make you feel rushed.
Derik M — Google review
Excellent prices. Quick service too! Food temps were perfect, and ready to enjoy without any wait to cool off. It was delivered after order in a very short time. Regular hamburger was delicious, and has all the hallmarks of a diner burger. Soft buns, Shredded lettuce, a good sized patty with that griddle burger grease glistening on it. Mayo, onions, as pickles were on point! 🫠. Chili was yummy too. They have Diet Dr Pepper on tap!! I found a new regular place to eat. I recommend coming in at 11 before the lunch crowd hits. 👍

My husband and I visit Springfield pretty frequently because he used to live there. I had always wanted to try the original Casper’s location, but never got a chance. We stayed at an Airbnb close to Casper’s, and I insisted on trying it. It was amazing!! The service was great, the decor is cute, and the food is excellent! The burgers were fresh and delicious. The generous portions of fries were hot and very flavorful. And the people who work there were very nice and friendly. We ate there three times in the four days we stayed in town. Fantastic place to grab a bite!
Tara B — Google review
Never had a chance to visit the original location due to operating hours. It was as good as people had told me. The Chilli was perfect, I'd like to try just a bowl of it next time. The big weenie was hard to finish with how much was there.

I've been here several times now. Every time has been a great experience! Love everything I've tried so far! The chilly cheese fries are amazing and so is the double whammy! This time around I remembered to get a picture! This pic is a Double Whammy, it's a double cheese burger, open face and smothered in chilly! Soo yummy! Staff is very friendly, my drink never runs empty and I was offered a to-go cup. Kitchen looks very clean! Over all a great experience and highly recommended!

This unpretentious eatery serves up an array of beloved dishes, including flavorful noodle soups and aromatic curries that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. If you're nursing a hangover or simply craving comfort food, the Bun Bo Hue—a spicy beef broth soup with wheat noodles—comes highly recommended as a revitalizing choice.
The pho dac biet is one of the best I've tasted. Fresh, full of flavor, very robust. Ample meat, tendons, tripe, and meatballs. Will definitely go out of the way to stop by again.

After a long drive from Chicago, my family and I enjoyed a delicious dinner! It was a peaceful atmosphere! We were greeted with great customer service. We ordered pho and they offered it in kid-friendly portions. It was hot, fresh, and flavorful! We recommend the P1, P2, Bonhue (spicy), spring rolls & jasmine tea. We came for dinner near closing time but they didn't rush us. We were told safe travels and given smiles out the door. Thank you to the friendly staff.

Bambu Vietnamese Cuisine knows how to do chicken pho right. Their pho ga is incredibly fresh, deeply flavorful, and comforting in the best way. The broth is clean but rich, with a depth that tells you it’s been carefully crafted not just thrown together. The chicken is tender and plentiful, not dry or bland like you sometimes get elsewhere. It soaks up the flavor of the broth perfectly. Add in the fresh herbs, crisp onions, and rice noodles, and every bite feels like a warm, balanced hug in a bowl. If you’re looking for a standout bowl of chicken pho, Bambu is where you want to be. I’d go out of my way to stop here again it’s that good

We’re from NM and don’t get much chance to eat Vietnamese food. The server, Steven, was so friendly and helpful. Our dishes were flavorful and delicious. The portions are huge. I still have a full meal left from my entree. To top it off, the prices are great. $13/entree is about the price we’re used to paying for an appetizer. Wish we lived closer as we would visit regularly.

This place is mine and my fiancé's favorite place to eat in Springfield. We are regulars and the food and service is always TOP TIER! The fresh spring rolls are the best I've ever had and R3 is my favorite dish. We will never stop coming here. I could literally eat it everyday. 💯 recommend!

I had egg rolls which looked burned and old but were barely warm. The server took them back and I thought I was getting fresh ones but nothing arrived. Later he said I took half off the egg rolls. What!! The cabbage salad was good. The overwhelming smell of smoke was disgusting and my clothes smelled until I could get them in the wash. I will not return.

El Puente is a delightful Mexican restaurant that truly captures the essence of flavorful dining. Located on E Republic Rd in Springfield, this eatery has garnered praise for its delicious food and attentive service. Diners rave about the combo nachos, which are generously topped with meat and grilled veggies, leaving guests satisfied enough to take home leftovers for another meal. The carnitas have been described as melt-in-your-mouth tender, while kids enjoy their quesadillas with gusto.
The food was delicious and I also got a to-go order for a family member at work!!❤️❤️❤️

I love Mexican food. This restaurant didn’t disappoint. The service was great and food came out piping hot and fast. I ate the combo nachos and can I say “where’s the chips?!!!” They pile the meat on and give you a great helping of the grilled veggies - I was so full. I was able to take it home and eat it twice more! The flavor was perfect - a definite ✅ favorite in my book. My son had the carnitas and said it was “melt in your mouth pork”, and his wife enjoyed her dish. My granddaughters devoured their quesadillas. Of course, we HAD to have the fried ice cream - they give a VERY generous serving. The crunchiness of the cereal coating and the cinnamon sugar dipped bowl 😘 yummy! My favorite part of the evening was sharing it with the family. My daughter-in-love and grandkids had never had it before so that was special! Make sure to stop by!!!

Smallest chimichanga I've ever had but it was good. Salsa was good and chips were fresh. Wish they had whole beans.

It was loud and dark over the lunch hour. I was with a group of 8 people. They all love it though. I'm young. I have no hearing issues. I speak clearly, in fact I speak at a higher level although I am not quite a "loud talker ". I couldn't hear the conversation and my friends couldn't hear me unless I raised my voice quite a bit. The service was excellent. And the food was pretty good. My friends eat there weekly. I won't join them again because it was a pretty stressful atmosphere.

We really liked it! They serve shrimp ceviche, which is very hard to find in this area! High ceilings are nice. My only complaint was that it can get loud, because of the tile floor, if there is a child crying or the like. We will be back for the ceviche.

Nestled in Springfield, Jimm's Steakhouse & Pub is the epitome of a refined yet relaxed dining experience. This charming venue specializes in classic steakhouse fare, making it an ideal destination for both casual meet-ups and special celebrations. On weekends, guests are treated to live piano music that enhances the inviting ambiance. The happy hour offers a delightful opportunity to unwind with friends while savoring delicious dishes like braised short ribs and grilled salmon with bourbon glaze.
My wife took me to lunch for my birthday at Jimm’s Steakhouse at 1935 S Glenstone Ave, Springfield, Mo., we're on a tight budget so we only eat out for special occasions, I wanted to do an honest review. I wanted to stress, I have no affiliation with Jimm’s, this is not a paid review. Some places in this group pay for fake reviews in a practice called astroturfing, to fool the potential customers with fake reviews into coming to their place for lunch or dinner. This is an honest review from a retired Marine, who detest that disgraceful, dishonest, illegal business practice. So please read this review to help you and others try a Jimm’s Steakhouse & Pub, if you haven’t already. We entered the business at 1:00 pm, we were greeted by 2 ladies at the podium in front hallway, very warmly, with smiles, who said hello, welcome. We told them we had a reservation we made only 15 minutes prior, they said of course and 1 of the ladies said follow me please. We were seated in an alcove which was perfect for the three of us. But a little chilly with the AC vent focused on the edge of the room, but still comfortable. Waiter Robbie, came to introduce himself and take our drink order, very soon after us being seated, but waited while we situated ourselves. Very friendly, and helpful. He brought our drinks back and we ordered an appetizer, peppadews, and our meals, My wife the Hawaiian chicken, my son a cheese burger, me the special black & blue sirloin. Robbie informed me 1 trip to the salad bar was included with my lunch special. He came back with bread in just a couple of minutes and informed us our appetizer would be up in about 7 minutes. I went for my salad at salad bar, lettuce was crisp, cold, there was fresh spinach, broccoli, peppers, macaroni salad, potato salad, and much more. I just got what I wanted, covered with a ranch dressing and went back to enjoy. Just as I finished my salad, Robbie brought our appetizer to the table, warned us it was hot, and informed us our entrees would be delivered in around 12 minutes. He asked if there was anything he could get us, poured us water and refilled my son’s Dr Pepper, and then went to service his other tables in the room. The appetizer was absolutely delicious, hot at first, but delicious and for the price a great buy. Just as we finished the appetizer our entrees were delivered by a young lady who said they were very hot, and asked if there was anything else we needed? Would you like to cut into the middle of your steak while I'm here? We politely thanked her and said we were good. All of the entrees looked great, the presentation top notch. We started on our entrees, I cut into my steak which was medium. It was cooked to perfection, the taste of the blackened rub, combined with the blue Cheese crumbles was awesome. The mash potatoes hot and scrumptious. My son’s burger and fries looked awesome, and he said the flavor was great. My wife said the Hawaiian chicken was good, however somewhat firm. Overall, everything was good. We ate and as we were finishing, Robbie came to ask how was everything? We told him great, and thanked him. He informed us that if we had any leftovers, he would box it up for us. I told him we enjoyed everything so much, and even though we normally have leftovers we weren’t going to have any today. He asked if we wanted to try any of their deserts, I told him it was my birthday and I would have the brownie as my cake to go. He was surprised, asked if it was really my birthday, I told him yes. He said happy birthday, its mine too! We told him happy birthday, he thanks us, and informed us the brownie is normally served with ice cream so he would pack it with ice to go so we could enjoy later. I said you know what, lets just get it for here. Were full, but we will try. Robbie arrived just a few minutes later with a large Brownie covered with a peanut butter mousse, and a scoop of ice cream. I tasted it first, it was truly AWESOME. I told my wife and son they had to try it. My wife said she was full and couldn’t eat any more, but we kept trying.

We had a great time at the new version of “Steak And Ale”. I grew up in the SPFD area back in the 70’s-80’s and I was always jealous of my peers that would dine there. Now for Mother’s Day I was able to take my mom there for some amazing food and dining experience. Great salad bar. The steak was cooked to perfection and the service was on point. Will come again!

My wife and I had a very lovely meal, celebrating my birthday. Her chicken had a delicious taste. My steak was cooked to perfection and tasted great. And the salad bar was well stocked. Our server was very pleasant and professional in her attentive needs to us. A very nice dining experience and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this eating establishment for a mighty fine dining experience. 😋

If you haven’t tried this Springfield favorite, give them a chance. Meals are made to order, no industrial franchise type taste. They can meet dietary restrictions, such as no salt and they give great attention to how much you will enjoy your meal. There is a dynamic salad bar. There is always someone there working it, replacing food items, cleaning, and making sure it is cold. They serve a delicious brown bread and offer wine tastings. Last night we tried the prime rib from the early menu which included a trip to the salad bar. Loaded baked potato, and even dessert for $25. The attention to service here is phenomenal.
Penny E — Google review
Jimm's Steakhouse was delicious! The prime rib was so tender. Our waitress was wonderful and very friendly, along with the other ones. The atmosphere was friendly! Instead of going to the big chain Steakhouse we decided to try this one as the wait wasn't as long only 30 mins to get seated on a Saturday night! Only Con I have is the table was a but small for a party of 4. Prices to me were a bit on the higher side but the food was delicious!

I can’t believe that I’ve never been to this Springfield restaurant staple until today. The ambience was great and I loved their 1980s playlist of pop. Service and food were great, especially the brown bread, making it all the more charming, in my thoughts. I cannot wait to return and try something new!
Heather M — Google review
Me and my boyfriend made a reservation and when we got there we were immediately seated. All of the staff were super kind and accommodating. I’m a picky eater but they catered to my preferences perfectly. Our waitress Sophia was amazing, super friendly and all around very pleasant! She checked on us several times, and as someone who has worked in the food industry before I could see her cleaning up and catering to us and other customers quickly. The atmosphere was amazing, but I would bring a jacket because it does get a little cold. I got the Cajun pasta with the Gouda Mac and it was all amazing. For dessert we got the creme brûlée, they torched it at our table which was so much fun. For the price we won’t be going again way too soon, but we are absolutely coming back. Better service, and pricing than Flame for sure, for the same quality of food too.
Sky 3 — Google review
After reading reviews, I suppose my expectations were too high. The food was ok. First, it was luke warm and I like my dinner, especially a good filet hot. The butter I put on my green beans didn't even melt over the time I was there. Second, the filet was eh... not having much flavor at all. I will say, the salad bar was good, probably the best part of the meal. The service was good and it's a cute place with some character. I can't say it was a $40+ experience. Disappointing for sure.

Several things on the menu sounded unique and delicious! It was a hard choice on the rack of lamb, but it was really good. I worried the mint would overpower, but it was subtle. The risotto was creamy and excellent, and overall great presentation! My husband had been once before with coworkers and really wanted this spicy pizza he previously ordered. I had a bite, and it was delicious! The service was great, and very attentive on filling drinks multiple times throughout the night. There were 2 options of butter/ dipping sauce for bread service that were both great. Our server recommended we put both on at once and that idea was super good. We finished our dinner with a sopapilla cheesecake, and that was also excellent. I can't wait to come back and try all of the other unique things they have on their menu!

This was near our hotel and had decent reviews. I recommend it! We had been on the road for ten hours so wanted to relax over dinner. I had the smoked old fashioned which was very good and my wife had the elderflower cocktail which she really liked. The crisps spinach appetizer was a must try. A new taste for us. VG. Honestly, for the prices charged, the food doesn’t keep up. We ordered our steaks medium. Well, they both came into our table just barely medium. Had to send them back to finish cooking. (And then you have to wonder what actually happens to them when they’re back there.) The rest of the food was pretty good. The mashed potatoes I would recommend! Also, you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't request Logan as your server. He remembers names, your drinks, and just made the overall experience one we will never forget. Good customer service is hard to find, but believe me, Logan has figured it out! Whoever reads this from SBC, please make sure Ryan and Logan are recognized for their hard work!

Recently visited BrewCo. Love the new service system. It was fast, easy and could go to the bar to get whatever you want whenever you want. Younger crowd than it used to be - great atmosphere and vibe. Great job to the entire team in a challenging time to be operating a full service bar/restaurant. Will definitely be a frequent visitor and will be visiting their other Rogersville location as well.

FD's Grillhouse is a delightful dining destination that perfectly balances casual and upscale vibes, making it an ideal spot for any occasion. Known for its American classics like juicy steaks, mouthwatering burgers, and fresh seafood platters, this restaurant takes pride in offering healthy options without compromising on flavor. The extensive fish menu and thoughtfully crafted salads cater to health-conscious diners while ensuring everyone finds something they love.
Wonderful tasting food. Great price. Great service. Portions were just right. Hawaiian chicken dinner and baby back ribs with sides were cooked perfectly. Ribs meat fell off the bone. The key lime pie crust was definitely your "Great grandma's crust!"

The food, the service and busy-ness was great. My server was Bad Ass Ali. I enjoyed the FD Trio with shrimp, stuff shrimp and grilled salmon with green beans, baby carrots & coleslaw paired with a fuzzy navel (peach schnapps & orange juice). I ordered at cheeseburger and homemade key lime pie to go

This is probably our new favorite. Food was absolutely amazing. Steak was cooked perfectly, the buttery mashed potatoes was absolutely delicious. Buttery and smooth. Rich in flavor. Service was great and prompt. Was seated quickly even though they were busy. Food was fresh, very good for the price. Will definitely be eating here again! -Side note, if you're used to a plain "regular folk" salad, this was is a little fancy for my taste. It has strips of sour apples (I think that's what it was) and some sweet walnuts. It's a little different, especially with some ranch on it. I prefer just the basic lettuce, cheese, tomato, croutons and cucumbers. But to each their own.

FD's offers exceptional fish tacos, surpassing any I've experienced in Florida, which is a significant commendation. The spinach dip is outstanding. The restaurant's ambiance is ideal for both romantic evenings and social gatherings. Furthermore, the pricing is highly competitive, offering excellent value for the quality and quantity of food provided.

Nice atmosphere, super friendly and fast service. Food was wonderful and reasonably priced. Nice place to find in today's overpriced world. Potato soup was delicious, nice blend of spices. Chicken tender platter was more than enough food to bring on a food coma, ha ha. Will definitely be stopping in again whenever I'm around Springfield.

A Must-Visit! Absolutely Lived Up to the Hype! We chose FD's Grillhouse based on its consistently high rankings, and we were absolutely not disappointed! This was hands down some of the best food we've eaten in a long time. I had the fried shrimp, and my wife ordered the Hawaiian chicken. We made sure to share, and honestly, both dishes were excellent. The shrimp was perfectly crispy and flavorful. However, the Hawaiian chicken was the clear winner for us, largely due to its incredible house-made bourbon glaze. It's so good, we were thrilled to learn they sell it! Despite being crowded (a testament to its popularity), the service was still top-notch, attentive and friendly. We did have to wait a bit for a table, but it was incredibly well worth every minute. If you're in Springfield, MO, FD's Grillhouse is a don't-miss restaurant! You won't regret it.

We recently dined at FD's Grillhouse in Springfield for the first time, and it was a fantastic experience! Despite the bustling atmosphere and a 30-minute wait for our party of seven, the staff managed everything efficiently and with a smile. The service from both the kitchen and our attentive waitress Allie was top-notch. The appetizers set the tone for a great meal—especially the honey-glazed chicken and FD's trio, which were absolutely delicious. The kids enjoyed their chicken and fries, and the portion sizes were generous. The quality of the food exceeded our expectations, especially considering the reasonable prices. The ambiance was lively, and the restaurant's cleanliness stood out. It's clear why FD's is a popular spot in Springfield. We left satisfied and are already planning our next visit!

Café Cusco, located on Historic Commercial Street, offers a vibrant dining experience with traditional Peruvian dishes and cocktails in a stylish and colorful setting. The menu features a variety of rice and pasta entrees, including the popular lomo saltado made with thin-sliced steak sautéed with peppers, red onions, roma tomatoes, garlic, white wine, and tamari.
Interesting shape on the sweet potato fries. Food is very good. Service was prompt, but not rushed. First time at this restaurant for lunch...it was a pretty good experience. The building had very interesting architecture & vintage features with a nice ambience. Not a large place. The tables were spaced out nicely. There were a couple of booths that were very grand looking.. not your typical 50s diner booth. Lots of cocktails and drinks which may be their specialty because it's definitely not the iced tea, old tasting ;(

Delicious!!! I got the Amazon Fried Rice and it was so packed with flavor. The fried plantains were so perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside as well. So many different dishes to try that I hadn't heard before in any other restaurant. I will be back for another culinary experience and the cozy upscale vibes with great prices. Also, they have an entire separate menu for vegans, so there really are great options for any palate!

This beautiful cozy restaurant features American and Peruvian dishes. I had the Amazon Rice with chard, pork, rice, peas, onions, and topped with fried plantain. Flavorful without heavy spice. Hot sauce was on the table. Fish, chicken, pasta, salads, wraps, and more. Full bar, eclectic wine list with South American wines. The carved wood and stained glass booths elevated the atmosphere and suited the copper tile ceiling.

Bambinos Cafe on Delmar is a charming Italian trattoria tucked away in a residential area near MSU, making it a favorite among local students. The restaurant, housed in a converted 1930s grocery store, exudes rustic charm with wood tables and terra-cotta floors. Voted one of the best Italian restaurants in town, it offers a welcoming, casual atmosphere and an extensive menu of Italian favorites.
Fresh chopped garlic with your bread basket. Excellent service! Cozy atmosphere and casual neighborhood vibe. Very delicious food. Local Art on the walls. Awesome Tiramisu. Very charming.

The mushroom ravioli was amazing! The spinach artichoke dip was very different. It was almost like Alfredo sauce with a few pieces of spinach and fewer artichokes. The bread that came with it wasn’t even toasted. Overall I would go back I just would not order the dip at all. My husband got the Greek pasta not a lot of feta and flavor was very mild.

This neighborhood restaurant was a pleasant surprise. It is clean, nicely decorated, the tables are comfortably spaced, In addition to a great menu, there are daily specials that are very tempting. The server was so good. She took the time to explain the menu, making great recommendations. The food was delicious! It tasted like homemade, which is a real treat! There is plenty of parking. Outdoor seating is an option. This place is a gem!

The new building is great. Artwork inside is good too. Food is fantastic like it has always been. The prices may make it the best value in town. Great restaurant!

Skip the Nonna. It tasted like can soup with boiled chicken. It wasn't very good. The bread however is good. Dip the bread in the garlic and it takes the nasty pasta flavor out of your mouth. The Greek was in a garlic butter sauce, with boiled chicken and canned olives. It was alright but bad after taste from the olives.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than ReRico Brazilian Grill. This traditional all-you-can-eat haven offers an impressive array of meats served right at your table, alongside a vibrant salad bar that adds to the festive atmosphere. For just $28, you can indulge in a variety of mouthwatering options including succulent steaks like horseradish and garlic, as well as delectable pork belly and sweet potato fries. The grilled pineapple is a must-try!
We dropped in early right when they opened. So, I think we missed a couple of things on the menu. But, overall it was a good selection. The salad bar was really good with lots of options. The service was good. I have eaten at larger Brazilian grills in larger cities, but I thought the offerings here were decent. You need to like your steak rare to be happily served here. The pork and chicken were cooked through and are readily available as well. Dessert was separate and we enjoyed the crème brûlée.
Penny E — Google review
It was actually a great experience to definitely try it out once. The meat they passed out how great flavor on the outside, but when you got to the meat itself beyond the yummy crust, it was kind of tough, dry , and unflavorful. It almost tasted like reheated microwave meat in the middle. The buffet items were decent. It was cool experiencing Brazilian eats. I did enjoy it and they did a very good job passing out as much meat and asked if you had certain things you wanted to try so they were very accommodating. The price was pretty steep, about $100 for 2 adults and one kid, although I did have one cocktail included in that price. For me, if you want a good steak, for that price go somewhere that perfects steak. But great experience overall!
Angel C — Google review
Everything was perfect. First time for the both us to this location but my wife’s first time at a steak house. A little dimly lit though.
DJ D — Google review
The staff were all lovely, and the meats came out quick, and often! However, the quality of the meats left so much to be desired. Most were chewy, and not one of them was hot. They ranged from lukewarm to warm, and we were seated very close to the kitchen so I know they hadn’t been out of the kitchen for very long. The salad bar/hot bar had a lot of options, but the same sentiment rang true throughout the restaurant: quantity over quality. I do appreciate the gluten free markings on their menu, and like I said, the people were great.
Katie C — Google review
My youngest son is autistic so going out is a special occasion. It can be difficult. The team at Rericos were very helpful in making it a great meal. Amazing service, seating us in a more quiet setting, and always the best food in Springfield!
Amy D — Google review
The food is exceptional and the menue varied. I like that the upscale atmosphere is accomodative to casual dress. I recommend the buffet style salad bar. Relax, enjoy the soup, and wait for servers to present steak, different types of steak. For pork lovers, the wait staff also offers pork belly. Those who love wine. Be sure to paruse the wine list. Some may find the $31 per person price restrictive. Loose your fear of pricing, and undertake a culinary adventure.
Ritchie M — Google review
We moved out of the area 10 years ago, and we loved eating here! We've always made a point to come eat here whenever we're in town. We are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary, so decided to come back here for our date. Unfortunately, this establishment has drastically declined since our last visit. Many of the meats were either cool/cold in some spots, or had that distinct "meat" taste. The cutlery was also mismatched, along with a lack of cohesive attire for staff (some professionally dressed, some in athleisure wear). To top it all off, we were sat at a booth that had actual dirt/grime/gunk all over the wall, which definitely could have been wiped clean before the restaurant opened. Everyone was nice, but I cannot recommend this eatery anymore.
Gage H — Google review
Staff was super nice and brought great vibes to the experience. The food was great, the lemon pepper shrimp was sadly half cold still (not fully fried) but everything else was so good I don't really care. Got to try so much food, Parmesan fillet was the best!

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant
Avanzare Italian Dining is an intimate, chef-owned restaurant that has been a Springfield staple for over two decades. The fine dining experience offers a modern take on Northern Italian cuisine and is owned and operated by five-star chef Tony Garcia. The restaurant recently moved to a spacious 1,200-square-foot location with seating for over 250 people, including a private dining area and patio seating overlooking a scenic pond with fountains.
Avanzare Italian Dining exceeded every expectation. From the elegant ambiance to the attentive, friendly service, everything about our visit was top-notch. It’s clear the team here cares deeply about creating a memorable dining experience. The food was phenomenal, but the standout for me was the ribeye—truly one of the best I’ve had in my life. Cooked to perfection, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor, it’s a dish I’ll be thinking about for a long time. The pasta and appetizers were equally impressive, with fresh ingredients and rich, authentic flavors in every bite. Yes, it’s on the pricier side—but it’s worth every penny. If you’re looking for a high-quality Italian meal that delivers across the board, Avanzare is the place. Highly recommended.

Dined here for a friends birthday. We had 12 people total. It was quite loud the night we went so it was a little hard to hear the waiter. The food was absolutely delicious. My dish had pesto mashed potatoes which were an interesting shade of green. The chocolate lava dessert was scrumptious. I was expecting it to be kind of like Chili’s similar dessert, it was not. This was so much better. I would go back just for that. It was a busy night and our server seemed to be getting flustered with our tickets. A few were wrong and he did get them fixed for us. All it all, I would go back.

It was very loud in the restaurant. We had the lamb, which was cooked to perfection and very tender. The server was new at opening bottles but was honest and attentive. He was agreat server. The prices were very reasonable. They were out of tiramisu because the owner hasn't taught anyone else to make it and wasn't there that day.

This place was everything you want in Italian fine dining! Exceptional food and the restaurant is stunning. I had the lobster ravioli with sautéed shrimp in a spicy red sauce with a hint of cream. Yum! Started my meal with caprese with balsamic reduction. And my waitress Anna R was just delightful, attentive and very knowledgeable. Plus you can't beat the pesto butter with warm bread brought to the table. Highly recommend!

Other than the 3 ounce piece of fat on the end of my ribeye, the pasta and fish special were beyond delish! Loved the complementary cheese and sausage plate that came with our bottle of wine. Haruno is a Japanese-inspired eatery that offers a relaxed dining experience with creative rolls and traditional Japanese dishes. The star of the menu is the Misoyaki Black Cod, known for its melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavors. The restaurant also features an extensive happy hour menu with discounted sushi rolls, appetizers, wine, and beer. One must-try dish is the Crystal Shrimp, which consists of large shrimp lightly fried and drizzled in a sweet lemon sauce.
Haruno is such a great little sushi spot! The fish is super fresh, and everything tastes amazing. The vibe is chill and cozy, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I especially loved the salmon sashimi and their special rolls. Definitely coming back!
Ruijia W — Google review
Haruna used to be my favorite sushi spot. The server was amazing! However, sushi was bland and not super fresh tasting (Miami Roll, Sex in the City, Jalapeno Roll) The worst part was the music to be honest. Atmosphere is such a huge part of the dining experience. On a Friday evening they played a 90's rock song, then Ghostbusters theme, into a Michael Jackson song, then some odd song from the 50's. It's a shame because the other aspects of the inside were really nice. Overall, a disappointing date night
Anthony S — Google review
Haruno’s sushi is amazing! The fish is super fresh and just melts in your mouth, and the rice is perfectly seasoned – not too hard or too soft. The staff are really friendly, and the place feels clean and cozy, which makes it relaxing to eat there. I tried the signature rolls and salmon sushi, and every bite was worth it! The portions are generous, not just for looks like some other places. The price is fair too. Definitely coming back and already told my friends about it!

Seriously, Haruno is officially my go-to sushi place. The sushi is always incredibly fresh and delicious, with spot-on seasoning that makes every bite perfect. Besides sushi, their bento box and the soups are gorgeous as well. Plus, the staff are so friendly and provide excellent service. You won't be disappointed!
Misun U — Google review
Sushi was really fresh. I especially enjoyed it because the portion of rice was smaller than usual sushi. In this way you can taste better the meat texture. I would like to send speicial thanks the Chef. Higly recommend this place.
Yeaaahji L — Google review
For a chic atmosphere and premium prices, I expect premium service. Our server was meh, but what really disappointed me was that I told her since the beginning about my seashell allergy, she/they made a mistake putting a seasoning with seashell on one of our rolls and she just gave me the menu and asked me to order something else instead of suggesting taking the roll and replacing it for what I actually requested, as it should have been, in my opinion. Not going back, there’s better places in town.

Civil Kitchen is a popular indoor-outdoor spot in Springfield, offering a view of Park Central Square. It's known for its creative American dishes and extensive craft beer selection, best enjoyed during happy hour with half-priced appetizers and discounts on draft beer and wines. The restaurant is favored by downtown employees for lunch breaks and south-side workaholics seeking a change of scenery.
On business in Springfield, our bartender at the hotel suggested this place. First of all, I was impressed how downtown here has improved, thriving and alive. The atmosphere is great, but the food was amazingly good. I am a big fan of Pork Belly, and their bbq PB was fantastic. The Colossal onion rings were well colossal and delicious. If you have seen my reviews that have been viewed by 40 million people, you know that I do not give five stars easy! I loved the atmosphere of this place. It felt like a hole in the wall with 5 star restaurant quality. My waitress was amazing and always on top of things. I got the breakfast burger which was delicious, but the meat needed a little more seasoning. The brusselsprouts were amazing too. They were a little too tart for my preferences.

This is a delicious and neat stop in Springfield. The establishment is very clean and the staff was great - Emery was one of the best servers we've had in a really long time. Would return here again when in the area.

The Brussels sprouts and their brownie dessert were yummy, as was the peach and basil gin and tonic. Delicious French fries. Overall average experience. I ordered a salad and specifically asked for it to come before dinner. It didn’t. No big deal. When my food was delivered, I just told them I don’t need the salad anymore. Was then told the manager said I still needed to pay for it, and so did I want it boxed up. I asked to speak to the manager at that time. Was later told my waitress they would not charge me for it. It wouldn’t have even been an issue if they just wouldn’t have tried to charge me for the salad to begin with. There is a $5 parking garage up the street. Limited street parking.
Mary R — Google review
Given that this was a doordash I expected less than fresh. However the sandwich was missing the sauce and had 1/2 grisly. The miso potatoes were not seasoned and no different from any other chopped potatoes. All the sides were drowning in oil and lacked any flavor or seasoning. The o e saving grace was the fried kale. I'd like to believe that in person dining would be better but the lack of flavor makes me think not. Likely won't try again but maybe in a few years. Springfield has some good local food but I would not recommend this.

I enjoy this place. I had the blue goat burger and it was a unique take on a smashburger. I had sweet potato waffle fries. I love dipping my fries and blue cheese dressing. Civil Ktchen takes ranch dressing and puts in blue cheese chunks. It actually works a lot better than I expected.

We made an order on door dash and my husband ordered the pork belly tacos and received the most disgusting, unappealing dish we've ever seen. We weren't even sure what it was, and concerned that my husband might not even be able to eat it due to his allergies. After trying some of it it seems like it's a straight slab of pork belly with a very disappointing side dish. It was not even good. He was so excited about the tacos and this dish ruined our hopes for a good night together without having to cook for ourselves. Why would you ever even offer this as an alternative?!? Please see photo, tell me it doesn't look like depression era food... I hate to leave a 1 star review for a reputable restaurant, but I'm just appalled and insulted that someone would even attempt to serve this.

We ate here on our way from Illinois to Texas. We searched for a place with good reviews and we were NOT disappointed. Our server, Brando, was personable and friendly. Our food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. Give them a try and you’ll want to go back.

The food was underwhelming. My boyfriend got the Texas Nachos and a taco el pastor. The nachos were like a 6 out of 10. He did rather enjoy the taco. I got the Philly cheesesteak burrito. I don't recommend it. It was a mess to eat, and the flavor profile just wasn't there. I also got a margarita. It was good and I enjoyed the little flower in it as it was super cute. What was AMAZING here. The service. I mean, hands down, the best teamwork I have EVER seen in a restaurant. I was super impressed with that. Would I return. Yes, I would give it another chance as it wasn't a terrible experience.

It was very busy in there but I was seated quickly and had gotten my drink in less than 5 minutes from being seated which was impressive. I decided to try their chipotle shrimp. I got it quickly as well, and it was delicious! The rice was a bit mushy but still had decent flavor.

Hands down, one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. My boyfriend and I were in town some weeks ago and we LOVED every bit of it. The food was amazing, service was GREAT, I wish I could remember our waiters name, all I remember was he's Colombian lol but overall, it was a good experience! If we're ever back in town, we will definitely be coming back.

Tortilleria Perches, located on Sunshine St. in Springfield, is a delightful family-owned restaurant that offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They serve up traditional Mexican dishes with care and attention to detail, from tamales to enchiladas. The menu features favorites like machaca with eggs and pico de gallo, as well as homemade flan for dessert. Guests can expect attentive service and are encouraged to try the freshly made tortillas along with a Perches Lager.
The rice and beans are very flavorful. The salsa was a good consistency and has an excellent flavor as well. The cheese dip was thick and rich I personally am not a fan of thin and runny cheese dip. I got the Chilaquiles with salsa Verde. It was just as good as homemade. I can't wait to come back and try something new.

We stopped in for lunch today. It was our first visit here. They were extremely busy. But, they still managed to fit us in to one of two empty tables and the service was quick. The food was hot and fresh. I snagged a bite of the enchilada before I snapped the picture, but the platter full serving of my lunch plate was way more than I could eat. My husband, the tamale snob, thoroughly enjoyed his combo and stated this was the best pork tamale he has found in Springfield. The chips and salsa were good and we felt the pricing was fair. We found out they sell tamales by the dozen. That will make our Texas tradition of Christmas Eve tamales much easier on me this year! We will definitely be back.

A friend shared on Facebook this location as one of their favorites. So the next time that I was in town I made my way to this restaurant. Son Jesus and mother Maria Perches opened in 2005 and plan on celebrating their 20 years this summer. Maria’s famous family recipes from Mexico along with their personalities and their staff many people come from far away and local. With the trophies on display in the restaurant, they have been able to help many families have fun through sports. When I got there the restaurant was packed, they have (I believe) 5 dining areas. They also have their own beer and salsa. If you want traditional and true Mexican food please make it to this family restaurant.

11-14-24 The Good. We found a facebook post advertising a taco flight and a margarita flight . That’s why we went . Margaritas are decent size and flavor for the price . The salsa is very mild and was well enjoyed . Rice and beans were top notch. Normally I find Spanish rice very dry . This rice was not dried out and actually has flavor . Service was ok. Neither good or bad. Guacamole was prepared well in advance . But was still delicious. It was a very pale green. The Bad … we ordered 2 queso’s . This cheese dip was a bowl of warm milk. I work in the restaurant industry including Mexican food . I know what it should be like. You could literally drink it with a small straw . Note the short video . 2 daughters ordered chicken cheese and rice 1 with added shrimp . Chicken was extremely dry sitting on top of rice. The cheese was so runny , it didn’t even stick to the chicken or rice . Absolutely not seasoned . The shrimp was cold and very rubbery and tough . Ordered Carnitas tacos and they were out settled for shredded beef tacos . Dry and no sauce provided for those Shrimp taco plate . Again Shrimp over cooked and rubber and served with fresh jalapeño… no where on the menu did it say jalapenos. We didn’t complain . She scrapped them off Taco flight . 2 asada and 2 al pastor . Pastor was very delicious Asada was over cooked cubed steak without any flavor . Was provided .4 salsas without any explanation of kind . 2 so spicy you need an extinguisher 😂 A taco enchilada plate. Very good however they brought the wrong taco and had to wait for it to be corrected 2 fish taco plate very dry and served with jalapeno without any the menu stating jalapeno used . I did ask for some salsa verde . Which helped the dryness . I also ordered a single asada street taco . Very tough meat with no flavor . Over all a disappointing night . We ate without complaining. With all the Mexican choices in Springfield . Unfortunately we will not be back . This place has decent prices . 7 people with entrees and 7 sodas with margaritas flight . 2 queso and 2 guacamole Only $180

I used to like this place honestly… my daughter used to go to the Daycare right next to it so I ate there pretty frequently. But I just have to say whoever the health inspector is that works there…. Wouldn’t give his name. lol was extremely rude to my wife when she pointed out a few things. Like mold on her tamale….. and the fact that my daughter’s hamburger look like a seven year old bottom of the barrel patty. And I had Carne Asada, which is normally skirt steak normally doesn’t have bones at all. And normally in Texas, they marinate their Carne Asada. Apparently they do not hear. Please be careful. The margarita was decent.. and the service was OK.
Justin R — Google review
Not only were we served a subpar child’s hamburger that left us wondering where the meat came from, but we were served tamales with molded husks… the manager not only thought this was ok as he defended this is a condescending way, but thought it was ok to serve tamales in molded husks, but that it was ok to impersonate a health inspector without giving me his name… i asked repeatedly and was told it can be found on the website… that’s awesome…never going there again and advised our local police station that if they want to eat, not to eat there… i advise the same of you… find another place.

My GPS found your place for a margarita, and 1 taco. Very friendly and the perfect place for me today. I'll be back 😁

Simple Mexican favorites served with a smile. Funky little rooms filled with happy dinners. We went for the tamales but ended up loving the beef burrito. If you like things spicy, ask the hot salsa! Plenty of margaritas and beer to choose from, including their own brew.

We had a great night at Ocean Zen. The food was fantastic, the service was great and the atmosphere was amazing! We went here for our anniversary dinner. I’d say overall, I was underwhelmed by the overall experience considering this is a “nicer” restaurant. It was not busy when we went. We were seated promptly. Service was rather slow. Took 10+ minutes to get our drink order after quite a while to give our order. We had to send the Old Fashioned back as it was watered down and full of ice. The food was good, but I thought for the price we were paying, we could get a better experience elsewhere. The aesthetics of the restaurant were very nice. The presentation of the food was nice. I did enjoy the roll we ordered, although it did taste of stale oil. Recommend changing out the oil regularly. The red snapper dish I thought lacked flavor. $16 for a small glass of basic wine was pricey. My husband thought his food was tasty. My husband said he’d go back. For what we spent, I’d rather go somewhere else.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Ocean Zen is truly a gem. Chef Johnson brings creativity and care to every dish and it shows from the moment the food arrives at the table. The presentation is beautiful! The Salmon Ocean Zen bento box was flavorful and perfectly balanced, and the sashimi was so fresh it just melted in my mouth. On top of that, Chef Johnson himself came by to say hi and check on us, which made the whole experience feel even more welcoming. I highly recommend Ocean Zen, hands down one of the best spots in Springfield! 🙌

We got "Curtis, the best mediocre waiter" "Curtis, with a C" and he lived up to it! He was entertaining and comedic and on top of our service as well. Food was all great even with it being end of the night. I didn't even catch a photo of the most delicious wontons with real lobster meat ever because we devoured them too quickly. Chrysanthemum tea was delicious too.
Morric P — Google review
Started with the Crispy Lobster and Cream Cheese stuffed Wontons. You DONT have to settle for cream cheese and sugar! 6 of these monsters was on 7.95! As well as the pot stickers for 8.95 enough for multiple people. Crispy on the outside and nice tender flavorful meat inside. Came with 2 sauces on the plate. The best I’ve ever had. I went with the FIVE SPICE SIGNATURE WOK FRIED NOODLES with shrimp Loaded up.with carrots, broccoli, celery, red and green peppers and I chose beef. A rich garlic ginger sauce that hit all the umami and the veggies were perfect tendercrisp and the steak slices nice and tender. My brother ordered Kung Pao beef with fried rice . However waitress made a mistake and brought him Mongolian Beef with fried rice. She apologized and said she could correct the order. He was ok with it & just asked for siracha sauce to replace the heat aspect. Both dishes were excellent. Service was just meh . She didn’t have sweet tea, but offered sugar packs or sweetener. Then mixed up his order. Checked on us a few times and we were sat near the front and could over hear her talking bad about drive thru customers Check out 5 Spice!

The food was good. The service was very friendly and even though I waited 20 min for the check, I still don't have a complaint. The waitress were very busy and never stopped. I had the lobster cream cheese wonton's, fried rice with the General TSO chicken with green beans. All very delicious. They did comp my app and drink and they didn't need to do that, but it's appreciated.

It was my first time asking for spicy cashew chicken so maybe it was my fault. Just had a weird taste. Probably my least favorite I've had in Springfield. Took forever to get a refill and the cups are so small. My brother did like his general tso tho. Kinda pricey for lunch.

I haven't been to 5 Spice since they moved to their new location. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Had the 5 Spice house special. Vegetables were fresh, the beef were large tender chunks and it was really done to almost to perfection. Our service was fantastic we were waited on and attended to, to make sure that we didn't go without and that we were all satisfied. Prices are comparable with other Chinese restaurants in the Springfield area. If you're in this area I would definitely try them out. I don't think you'll be disappointed. 🥡

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Springfield in my opinion. We order from the drive through frequently, but recently went inside to eat for the first time. We ordered the meal for two options which comes with a choice of appetizer, soup, entree and doughnuts for dessert, all for $30. A great deal for everything you get. The service was great and we love this place!

I was very disappointed in the last visit this past Sunday. Location was short staffed and they really struggled to serve us. Celebrating my Sons 13th birthday, my party group waited at least 45 minutes before getting served. Staff was courteous, but just didn't have the man power to be open. This is the second visit in 30 days and I regret to say both visits were undesirable in dine-in and Drive-thru.

Was visiting Springfield and we decided to go to Indian. We just found this place by googling. Atmosphere is very nice. Staff. Super friendly. Our food was so good. I do not have any complaints about the food at all. They were at our table constantly filling water refilling our drinks. Asking us if everything was okay if we needed anything else. And very good place. I would recommend this to anyone. The prices are very reasonable as well. I actually love their serving dishes.

The Zayka special biryani was excellent. The medium was a great spice level, spicy would be interesting to try so I will be back to see if I can handle that level of spice. But for people that have a lower spice tolerance, the medium would be a perfect. Music was nice and soothing and service was great. Will stop by again sooner then later.

Pineapple Whip is a beloved destination for both locals and visitors, offering a delightful array of exclusive flavors like grape, strawberry-kiwi, lemon berry, and mango-peach. While the original pineapple flavor is always available, there's also a seasonal rotation to keep things exciting. This non-dairy, fruit juice-based soft serve is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days.
Pineapple Whip gave free whips to children that completed the summer reading program which is such a cool prize. My kids LOVED the classic pineapple flavor and one had it as a twist cone with the lemon berry. I had the lemon berry whip and it was amazing! These are dairy free delights so everyone can enjoy! The favors change from location to location and week to week so there is always something new to try!Highly recommend!

Pineapple Whip is a Springfield specialty and also considered the nectar of the Gods. It is so light and refreshing, with each flavor being unique. It is a true sign of summer to finish a night out getting dinner by swinging by a Pineapple Whip stand and getting some for dessert. Or after spending a few hrs at the pool, swinging by for a sweet treat. Opinions vary, but I would rank the flavors as follows: Pineapple: 10/10 Cherry (limited): 9.5/10 Watermelon (limited): 9.0/10 Mango Peach: 8.5/10 Strawberry Kiwi: 8.25/10 Fruit Punch: 8/10 Orange (limited): 7.5/10 Banana Pomegranate: 7.0/10 Grape: 7.0/10 Lemon Berry:6/10 Chocolate: ranked separately because it is unique and not the regular whip. 9/10- it is very good and reminds me of a Frosty.

When I say these tenders were BUSSIN’. I don’t know what kind of secret breading they use, but it is phenomenal. From the texture, to the flavor, to even the effort for presentation for takeout food. I was shocked the chicken was so juicy for being takeout as well. And the honey mustard is delicious. This is honestly better than Canes. 10/10 will order again and 10/10 will make my friends try.

Horrible service. When we arrived, I had to ask a waitress to clean a table for us outside, all were empty but none of the tables had been cleared off from previous customers. We have now been here over 30 minutes and none of the tables outside were clean when we got here and still have not been cleaned. After 20 minutes of us ordering drinks, my wife went in and got them off the bar while the bartender smiled at her. Now after 40ish minutes, we are still waiting on a burger. Honestly, there are currently 6 people inside this venue. I’ve been a lot of places to eat and drink in Springfield and this is by far the worst ever. And then, when we finally got the food, the waitress said the fried circles in a bowl, outside the burger, were onions. They were fried jalapeños. Unreal!! I literally cannot believe this. And after the meal was finally brought to us, we had to ask for napkins and silverware. There are so many amazing eateries downtown, please do not waste a minute here.

I have been coming to Cellar and Plate since October 2020. I have had the best food and service here over the years. However, tonight we had the worst experience. Our waiter rarely came to us, he tried to pass off Jim Beam for Jameson, then he took so long to refill our drinks we didn’t have drink with our food. The Chicken Alfredo is my absolute favorite at Cellar and Plate. Tonight it was dry and the pasta was hardened. I do not know what is happening…but please make some changes. I absolutely love the atmosphere, and the live music was beautiful. Please fix the service and food soon ❤️ so it can continue to be Springfield’s hidden gem. Because after tonight, I do not think I can convince my family to return.

Really bummed out with our last two visits. We used to love this place over the years but tonight made us realized it’s just not the same anymore. We made reservations so we were quickly seated but it took about 10-15m before a server finally came to ask our order but we didn’t even have menus or water. Unfortunately, that was the way it went all night. Our server was sweet but kept blaming the kitchen and the excessive crowd for the delays but it truly wasn’t a particularly busy night by any means. We ordered apps as Roasted Brussel Sprouts and the Baked Brie and two sliders. It took about 40 minutes for the brussel sprouts to arrive but they were room temp as if they had been sitting out waiting and then the two sliders arrived 15 minutes later in the same condition. Both felt like warmed up leftovers. We finally asked about the Brie and was told it would be ready soon and our server should have told us it takes the longest to make. It did arrive just as we asked to check on it and came out with nuts (we had noted no nuts due to an allergy). We had to just cancel it and get the check. Deeply disappointed in how it’s changed from a couple years ago in quality and service. But the atmosphere is still very fun though

I'm winding down the clock on my dining out days. I find I require far less food than I used too. I no longer drink, and that alone curbs appetite. I no longer feel the need to socialize, or be seen. Given that information, this was a rare outing and, an unexpectedly memorable one. I NEVER give five star reviews across the board, but Cellar & Plate genuinely earned this one. The menu is an eye candy feast of eclectic options and pairings. The wine list is unrivaled and the non-alcohol selection, while abbreviated, is very well considered. Thanks and kudos to Cellar & Plate for that alone! My wife and I shared two dishes comprised of Asian salmon and risotto, and steak tips and risotto. Additionally we shared an appetizer of ceviche, avocado, and chips. All of the food was meticulously prepared and the presentation was outstanding. My wife had a glass of NA Sauvignon Blanc, and I enjoyed an NA beer. Both were very good and fresh, and it was a pleasure to have these options available. The restaurant featured live entertainment in the form of a delightful and talented crooner named Gary Turner. Mr Turner sang numerous light standards at a perfect volume and he was engaging and extremely professional. But the service, oh the service!! Our waitress, Ellie, was outstanding! Ellie was intelligent, beautiful, poised, and expertly landed the often difficult and delicate balance-ratio of attentiveness and intimacy to allowing us the uninterrupted time required to savor the meal. As perfect as the ambience, food, and entertainment were, Ellie is the real reason we will return. Great job Cellar & Plate.

This is such a delightful little place to sit and drink/eat and have good conversation with friends. Cozy and nicely decorated, they have an eclectic collection of wine and drinks for any mood, and the food has all been delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Service is always top notch.

The food here was great but the service was less than ideal. I went with a group of friends and we were very talked down to by the server (you would of thought we didn’t order a thing). We each spent a good chunk of change and are typically very good tippers but in this instance we were not.

Restaurant
The Golden Girl Rum Club is a vibrant tiki bar located in Springfield, offering a modern and stylish ambiance. Situated in Park Central Square, it's the perfect spot to enjoy rum-based drinks like The Monkeys Paw and Son of Banana Man. Even if you're not into alcohol, there are plenty of options for non-drinkers as well. This establishment is part of a group of bars owned by Widner and has garnered national attention.
I did not eat here so I cannot rate the food, but the drinks are great. The atmosphere is fun, even in cooler weather when the wall is shut, closing off the outdoor seating. The bathrooms are especially fun, and if you’re looking for a healthy rum selection, this is the spot. I would bet that no other bar in the city has as much rum to choose from! The happy hour specials are great.

Wow the rum drinks are amazing. The drinks are spendy, but as strong as the strength rating says, so be careful! Their Hurricane and the Monkey's Paw are great. Make sure that you check out the bathrooms, seriously... They have a whole vibe and we loved them. We were able to sit out on their lovely patio.

During Halloween, I visited this place and loved the halloween atmosphere. The service was excellent and I enjoyed my cocktail. I haven't had the chance to try their food, but I definitely plan on going back. It's also a great spot to hang out with your girlfriends!

My friends and I came here after going to another bar in town. We were after good drinks and some Christmas vibes. The staff here was incredible and the food and drinks were amazing! We got a vegan mushroom pizza and it's probably the best I've ever had. Skip the other places in town. This is the place.

Absolutely wonderful drinks and great atmosphere. The service was phenomenal and I loved the over all vibe. Ordered the one of each of the tacos and they were killer.

Tinga Tacos is a delightful culinary gem that reimagines the classic street taco experience. Nestled in downtown Springfield, this eatery offers an array of unique taco variations that are anything but ordinary. The secret to their mouthwatering flavors lies in the hours spent marinating and preparing their meats, ensuring each bite bursts with taste. Beyond tacos, Tinga Tacos also serves up deliciously thick and crunchy chips paired with exquisite queso—an absolute must-try!
Was just walking downtown and came across this gem. I has forgotten to eat that day, so when I walked in and saw that not only the atmosphere was comfortable, but the prices were low, I was wondering what the quality of the food was going to be, but, they did not disappoint! I had the make your own taco and the "taco sauce" sauce really pulled the whole meal together. The cashier seemed really kind and when I asked what part of the pig the pork came from, they went and asked the chef with no hesitation (it's the shoulder, by the way, and it was good, too, not dry at all). The food came fresh and fast as well. I will be visiting here a couple times a month I think when I want a lunch when I'm doing business Downtown.

Been a Chef most of my adult life; just moved to MO about a year and a half ago. Probably the worst taco ever. To much salt and lime bought 4 taco tried to finish the fourth; but could not. Let the cashier know about the food all she could say is sorry. Should not add salt; let the patron add the salt.
Heartbeat B — Google review
I really liked this place! The lunch deal is great - $10 for two tacos of choice, a side of choice, and a drink. The double deuce taco was pretty good! I got chips and guac for my side and it was probably the best chips and guac I’ve ever had; the tortilla chips are actually seasoned and taste delicious. Would definitely recommend this spot especially for the great lunch deal.

🙏 Like this review if it helped you, follow for more! 🙏 I really can't say enough good things about this place. It's become a regular spot for my partner and I anytime we're in Springfield. The last time we were there, we ordered one of everything! There wasn't a single thing that we tasted that we didn't absolutely like. If you're downtown on the weekends late night, this is definitely the spot to be! I could eat those crushers all night 😅 🙏 Like this review if it helped you, follow for more! 🙏

This place was amazing! We went on a Thursday and found out they have select tacos for $1.50 so that was a nice surprise. The Tinga Taco was chicken, cheese, pico, with pickled carrots and onions. The Crusher Taco was beef, cheese, lettuce, and taco sauce. We will be back to try more of these tacos!
Matt S — Google review
This place has a wide variety of very interesting tacos. Also their chips and queso are exquisite. The chips are extraordinarily thick and crunchy with a seasoning on them the likes I have never tasted. It's located right in the heart of downtown and reasonably priced for the quality of food you receive. I would recommend this place to any taco lover. The seating is limited and the ambience leaves something to be desired but the quality of food more than makes up for it.

My wife and I both agree that those were the best tacos we have had in a very very long time. Im real picky when it comes to tacos and chips but that was a 10/10 on both.

The food was good! Had to wait a bit for our takeout, but we ordered at the counter & there was a large group at a table so it was understandable. They mark on the menu what is spicy & what isn't so that's helpful. Enjoyed the dreams chicken!

A lovely, quiet atmosphere with super friendly and responsive wait staff. Food is always delicious and hot when we recieve it. I cannot stress this enough, the MOST delicious rangoon in Springfield. Their honey chicken is unmatched. Easily the best chinese place in the whole city. Serving sizes are HEFTY we always end up eating our leftovers for dinner or lunch the next day.

Popular menu items include General Tso's Chicken, Lo Mein, and Egg Rolls. The atmosphere is casual, clean, and family-friendly, with efficient service. They have the bar decked out for Christmas so my friends and I wanted to check it out. The place is incredibly disorganized. Seating is "first come first served" but there's not even a line for people waiting for a table. We waited for at least 20 min & then someone who had just walked in the door on the opposite side of the bar grabbed a table as someone was getting up. All the staff had seen us waiting & when we asked a worker she just kind of shrugged. We finally sat on the regular side of the bar. Nobody was taking orders. We went up to the bar to order a drink and it took over 15 minutes to get my drink. Some of the worst service I've ever had.
Christina H — Google review
We had the cheese pizza balls and garlic bread for appetizers. I had Micah's chicken which was superb! I don't know how to describe the sauce, but it has the right amount of spice, sweet, and flavor. My husband had the chicken strips and fries. They're hand breaded and well cooked which he loves. Price wise for 2 apps, 2 meals, and drinks it was a very good price point. Definitely worth checking out and we'll be back!

Ate outside on the back patio. Nice and quiet. Full Ride burger was top-notch. Some of the best fries I have had in my life. I'm not much for adding sweetness where it doesn't belong but who knew a dusting of brown sugar on already amazing fries would elevate them to the next level.

Toppings include tangy salsa verde, cotija cheese, cilantro, and onion. The atmosphere is described as indie and chill with friendly and fast service.
Had the Globetrotter Nachos. The well-done chips were incredible.

It’s wild that anyone would find their food delicious much less top rated! This was the most average bland taco spot. It’s crazy that these tacos are almost $5. The tacos were bland and mostly fat. The rice bowl was a bit more flavorful. The chips were salty. Overall food was 2.5/5. The service was great though even though we waited almost 20 minutes for basic food 😭 would not recommend if you want to enjoy your food but there was a line of customers, so maybe people like this kind of food!!

I have eaten here several times. My daughter introduced me to Team Taco ( it’s her favorite!) I tried every taco on the menu… the globetrotter and tofu king are my go to on the regular menu. However, you guys should put the ringer “ shawarmaggedon” on your regular menu… it is fantastic!!! I’ve had it as both a taco and rice bowl both were delicious, but the rice bowl was absolutely wonderful!! I would order this every time if put it on your menu!

A great neighborhood taco shop. Their everyday menu is great and their ringers are always creative and delicious. I'm a meat eater, but I'm always impressed with their vegetarian/vegan options. Pro tip: Average Joe as nachos with black beans.
Benjamin L — Google review
Our food got out to us pretty quickly but there was a lot of strange people on the pavilion when we were there but it's downtown area so it was expected. I got the rice bowl and to be honest I was pretty disappointed. There was hardly any rice and it's not even Mexican rice but there was plenty of toppings. It was like slop more than anything because of the topping to rice ratio. We decided to try this place out because our usual places were closed. They don't have very many options either.
Bethany Y — Google review
This place is not a Mexican restaurant. I don't see why there are negative reviews that say dumb things like tHeReS nO sAlSa Or CaRnE aSaDa. Don't expect Mexican food, these are gentrified. However, they are very good. I got the margarita and it was STRONG. I can see why it's just a wee cup of it. Someone who likes to party makes those margaritas. The tacos I got were the tofu king and the BA Baracus. The tofu king had a zangy tangy sauce that made me lick the plate. Tastey veggies on it, like a slaw. The BA was juicy brisket 😋 Both very solid choices. I had to tell my husband to get the chips and queso away from me because I was going to embarrass myself and eat them all. The vibe is chill. I like the outdoor area even though it's hot as balls outside. In the evening it's just right. The people complaining about outdoor seating are probably agoraphobic weirdos. We came on a Thursday and it wasn't very busy. A few cozy couples sipping their drinks. The patio was clean. The signs are very clear about what is on the food. The lady at the window who took our order was a smiling face and helped us to decide what to get. We just had a great experience and will be back for more margaritas and tacos.

Lambert's Café is a popular local chain known for its classic Southern-American cuisine and the famous "throwed rolls" dining experience. Located just south of Springfield, it offers a full menu of country cooking with tableside pass-arounds including fried taters and onions, black-eyed peas, and fried okra. The highlight of the meal is catching and savoring their delicious dinner rolls.
I hadn’t been here in about 25 years…this place is way better than I remember as a kid! My husband from Ohio wanted to try it out and at first I laughed… but Lambert’s has found a new place in my heart, and we’ll be back for more! Such a fun family dining experience! The extra sides they bring for free… and the plate refill if you want one!? Common! And the roll throwing!! Gotta love it. I also loved the big gulp drink cups, how fun!

Excellent food. Very diffetent atmosphere than most places. Be ready to eat a lot!! We had almost an hour wait for a party of 10 but it was well worth it. Plenty of rolls thown our way. Would recommend that everyone try this place out and mark it off your bucket list.
Phillip A — Google review
This was a wild experience. First of all the place is packed, locals definitely live this place because the line was out the door. Regardless, the wait wasn't too bad, about 30 minutes which e killed in their gift shop. Anyways the staff is working their butts prf but being the coolest people while doing it. They straight up throw hot rolls to you when you raise your hand in the air which is such a fun experience. They also come around to keep losing your plates with free food like potatoes, okra, and other things. The food itself is great, and honestly I couldn't be fuller. This is a place to bring large groups, you won't be disappointed.
Ronnie L — Google review
It's been almost 20 years, still the same belly bustin goodness. Seems like there's always a wait burgers it didn't take but about 10 min to get us seated. Went with the country fried steak and the wife did the chicken pit pie, each got two sides on top of the free fixes they walk around with, fried potatoes, black eyes peas, stewed tomatoes and macaroni, fried okra and so on and off course the hot throwed rolls. What a great meal, and less than $20 a plate. If its good enough for Bob Knight, its good by me!
Dave B — Google review
We enjoyed home of the throwers roll again. We’ve been many times. This time there was no wait which was a plus but I do think service was a bit down from the past few times we’ve been. Food was still really good! They still throw the rolls to you and have pass around to share. My fav pass around are the okra and also the potato’s and onions. They recently opened an RV campground directly behind the restaurant so that could be very helpful for those traveling.

Had lunch at the Ozark, Mo location Oct 10,2025. It was beyond delicious. We ordered open-faced roast beef and the chicken fried steak. The portions are very generous, even the huge cup of water you get! The "throwed" rolls taste like good ole homemade bread grandma used to make. This place is a must stop! Don't forget to grab one of their hubcap cinnamon rolls for the road.
Vicki F — Google review
This place is just one of those places you go to for down home cookin', no matter how far you have to drive. Their philosophy is all about you as their guest and ensuring you are well taken care of. The food is delish, with HUGE portions! And what can you say about the "thrower rolls" other than they are to die for, especially covered in honey! The fact that they don't just put them on your table but deliver them by throwing them across the restaurant makes the meal fun and the atmosphere light hearted. Make sure you order your "thrower rolls" early and often. :)
Tony R — Google review
The atmosphere was fun and rolls being thrown across the room was fun. With that said, the food itself was barely lukewarm and didn’t taste good. Additionally, the au jus for our prime rib was sweet, almost like a bbq based au jus? It was odd. Our children wouldn’t eat their burgers due to the taste. If it weren’t for the cold, odd tasting food, I think our experience would’ve been just fine. P.S., shout out to our waiter Wyatt. Nice job, dude.

The Chicago Cheesesteak Company South is a popular spot, especially during lunch hours. The wait for their delicious Philly cheesesteak and fried mushrooms is worth it, as the bread is flavorful and the fillings are just right. They offer weekday specials and have an additional laminated menu with various options including cheeseburgers. The staff is known for being polite and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience.
My introduction to the Chicago Cheesesteak Company was downtown Springfield—full STOP the Halle Berry is the best sandwich (I will NOT be hearing otherwise). Each time I’ve come to this location I’m promptly greeted, even if it’s a “hey, we see you, be with ya in a moment.” I get my food and dip. Pros: *The best Cheesesteak I’ve had *Halle Berry Cheesesteak *Jalapeño poppers *Portions *Food quality *Service *Supportive of other small businesses Cons: *Personally I get my fries next door, that’s probably the only thing I don’t like from here. *I think that customers should be encouraged to take care of their own trash, polite of y’all to offer. *Halle Berry isn’t the only sandwich available (seriously, y’all gotta try it). *If a legitimate “con” arises, I’ll update.

Best fries in town, probably the state. If there are better I want to try them. Great variety, quality is always top notch.
Terrance S — Google review
Food: Ordered the “Spicy” combo (comes with fries and a 22 oz drink) along with “The Springfield” and a side of fries. They provided a water cup when I asked for one. The Spicy wasn’t very hot yet it had a good flavour of zesty banana peppers with vinegar. The Springfield was my preferred sandwich. Crunchy cashews with crispy chicken gave a satisfying texture to the sandwich. This was combined with the cashew sauce which completed the sandwich. Both sandwiches had high quality bread which retained a soft texture after being toasted. 4/5 because of their fries. They were slightly burnt and very greasy. Overall though, satisfied with The Chicago Cheesesteak Company.
Andrew K — Google review
I was super excited to try this place, as the photos looked amazing. The overall experience was kind of a let down. The staff seemed to be kind of annoyed about something so that was off putting from the start. There were no recommendations of any kind, as a new customer I would’ve liked to had some kind of knowledge on what was most popular or their best seller! I would’ve tried it! With that being said, I settled for the first thing on the menu, which I assumed was one of the classics, (Chicago Philly) which had lettuce, tomato, onion, American cheese with oil and vinegar. At first the sandwich was pretty dry, I almost had to ask for some mayo or something to put on it, but then I got towards the middle and it turned out to be ok. The overall presentation of the sandwich was good, decently sized. The seasoning on the meat and the American cheese kind of resembled a hamburger. I think some chipotle mayo or some kind of sauce would take this sandwich to the next level. The overall flavor of this sandwich was pretty average, so I probably wouldn’t order this one again. Jersey mikes is better all around 😬

Freshly made sandwiches and great service! Good variety as well. They have classic Philly cheesesteak options and other fancier/ less common options. I got to try the BLT and the Halle(peño) Berry. The BLT was pretty generic, hard to mess up a BLT. I was skeptical about the Halle Berry sandwich but it was actually super good! It had cheesesteak beef, cream cheese, grape jelly, and cream cheese. It was such a perfect blend of savory and sweet. If you're not good with spice though, I'd recommend taking out the jalapeños. Overall a good, reliable hot sandwich shop with plenty of options.
Andrea E — Google review
Ordered a Philly, Fries, and Drink. Bread was perfectly toasted. Sandwhich I wish it was a bit fuller, but it was good. I prefer a philly more like a Ricks Steak or Gino's style not chopped and peppers and onions sliced vs diced. But very yummy! Loved it. The fries. Amazing. Perfect. I had the best fries I've had in years here! Over all great job.
K. G — Google review
This is about the only place in Springfield that you can get a true Chicago Italian style beef. Next time I go though I will be ordering double meat. My wife had a cheeseburger and we had the hand-cut fries which were very good. I would recommend this eatery in to anybody who was looking looking for Good sandwiches.

Thank you Chicago Cheesesteak Company for reminding me of a simpler time. Picture it, Springfield, early 2000's. We are in our old neighborhood dining on junk food, specifically hand cut French fries with ranch and Frank's Red Hot. The guys working the register and kitchen are having a spirited conversation about current events and are helpful when ordering. No one is on their phone, people are just sitting in a restaurant eating and listening to the music. The Simpsons are on a TV silently in the background. Nothing fancy, totally chill and the vibes are good. Old school, serve yourself soda machine, waxed paper cups. Legit fries with ranch and the Dr. Pepper syrup to fizz ratio is solid. No joke lunch today was just like it used to be in the early 2000s and it was awesome. I don't know if this location was open back then but I'm going to pretend it was. Thanks for a great lunch!

The Route 66 Food Truck Park in Springfield, Missouri is the latest addition to the iconic route. Located on St. Louis Street, this outdoor dining spot offers a variety of ever-changing food trucks serving everything from street tacos to plant-based dishes. It's a perfect place for a quick bite or a new lunch and dinner spot where you can enjoy delicious meals outdoors with friends. The park features picnic benches and an indoor bar for those seeking shelter from the sun.
My husband and I wanted to do something different for date night, and we decided on food trucks as opposed to dining in somewhere in light of the global situation. Today I scoped the place out. It's outside dining with picnic benches and a bar inside for those who want to get of the sun. I visited the Thai truck and had the spring rolls and pad see ew and it was fantastic. No pictures, I was too busy stuffing my face! Can't wait for date night and future visits when I can try other options.

This place was a cool little stop along our route 66 tour. It was a little underwhelming overall. Although the website says they open at 11, things really didn't open until 11:15ish. Two of the food trucks never opened while we were there. The food was good, portions were decent. Stop there if you are just looking for a cute stop. If you are looking for a great meal, keep driving, this isn't the spot.

Quite a unique experience in Springfield. Roughly 10 food trucks with a very diverse offering. There's something for everyone here. I can't wait to come back and try them all! There's even a clean, indoor seating area in case it rains! Conveniently, there's a bar that serves beer and alcohol. A fantastic concept and I'm happy to see it right on Route 66 in Springfield. Just look for the GIANT!

Their soft opening yesterday and they were packed so we waited until today. Not everyone was open because the opening wiped them out but we still got to try London Calling and Davalon. We had the Chicken Ticca Masala pasty and it was delicious! The chicken was moist, the sauce was good, and the pastry was flaky! We tried the beef bulgogi Korean fries and they were also delicious! A little spicy and the fried were fresh!! Will definitely be back to try the other spots 😀

This is my new place. The cauliflower "wings" at the Wheelhouse are the most delicious thing I think I've ever had. I'm obsessed. It's clean, it's outside which I'm loving. The atmosphere is great. I want to try everything now. Springfield foodies and visitors alike, you have got to try!

Great selection of good food. It's so great to have a nice area inside to eat and not be in the elements. Love this concept!!

Bakery
Prairie Pie, located in downtown Springfield at Vitos Kitchen, is a must-visit for pie lovers. Eleanor Taylor creates handmade pies using seasonal and local ingredients, offering a wide variety of flavors in both full-size 10-inch pies and mini pies. The menu includes sweet options like caramel apple and savory choices like Bianca broccoli and Sicilian. Customers rave about the original recipes, visually appealing presentation, and fantastic taste of the pies.
Great restaurant, that's super inviting. The person that helped me with my order was very friendly and easy to talk with! I got 2 of each of their frozen pot pies and 2 pieces of their honey sea salt pie and pecan pie. The dessert pies are unmatched from anything I've ever had, I'd highly recommend getting either one. So far I've only had the chicken pot pie and it was phenomenal. They have cooking instructions that come with them to make it easy. I can't wait to try the other type I got. This place has made it on to my list of "must visit" for when I'm in town. They're awesome and definitely worth checking out!

My first time trying a pot pie, my husband grew up eating them and was looking forward to the Chicken pot pie. We ordered two, but they only had one left so I ordered the Curry vegetable and I am so glad. They were both absolutely delicious, but I loved the curry vegetable. The flavor was impeccable.

The two savory pies we had were excellent. I had a chicken pot pie and it was delicious. My wife had the vegetable curry pot pie. She says it had the right degree of spice. We both thought the crusts were delicious. We had a slice of apple pie but it was not as good. I thought it was too sweet and my wife didn’t like the crust. Overall it was very good.

This place is AMAZING! The recipes are original, visually appealing, and taste fantastic! They have sweet and delicious pies, like the PB&J and Grapefruit Custard Pie (pictured in the post), and savory and scrumptious pies like the Beef & Mushroom and Chicken Pot Pie. YUMMY! They even have a vegetarian pie for the non-meat eaters. The crust is moist, but flakey, with just the right amount of butter, you even want to eat the edges that you would normally throw away. (I did). You have to give them a try... one of the truly 5 star (+) eateries in Springfield. I loved it.

Don’t let the street construction keep you away from this gem. We made our first trip today. Very friendly service and the pies were delicious. We had the caramel apple and the Black Bottom Oat. If you are an apple pie lover the caramel apple will not disappoint. The Black Bottom Oat has a layer of delicious chocolate on the bottom, then a pecan pie type filling topped with oats. It was delicious. We will be back to try their savory pies and some other sweet options. Give them a try!

Super cute pie shop! Micah was friendly and patient with our many questions. We took the majority of our order to go, but we did enjoy our candied bacon and sweet potato quiche dine in. There is plenty of seating in the comfortable air conditioned cafe. Highly recommend!

Springfield, Missouri is so lucky to have Prairie Pie 🥧 Our favorite hands down was the Honey 🍯 Sea Salt 🥧 It was like a buttermilk pie with the addition of honey, and if you know me, you know I love Buttermilk Pie!!! When I get again, I will ask to have it a little less sea salt so it doesn’t overpower. We also tried the Caramel Apple, Hibiscus Lemon 🍋 and Ameretto Chocolate Pies. All were delicious!!! I am a huge fan of Shortbread Anything so we went for the Rosemary Shortbread Cookie as well as the Nori Black Sesame Chocolate Cookie. They were both interesting and different. I feel like the Shortbread cookie would be great with a nice warm tea ☕️ and I will let you decide for yourself on the seaweed cookie. They also have a little quant bar in the back if you want a cocktail or local beer 🍺 Just recently they have started selling pizza 🍕 by the slice on Friday and Saturday night starting at 5pm. It seems like the bar and pizza idea are to try and drive more business in to this cool little establishment. I am still super excited to try the savory pies 🥧 and will give you an update once we try them. If you live Downtown Springfield it is worth a walk over to try something new. Or if you are taking a friend to tea and want to show them a new spot, this establishment has your name written all over it! Thank you team at Prairie Pie for bringing something different to Springfield, MO!

If you are a pie lover like myself then you already know about how good Prairie Pie is! Their pies are my go to for holidays and special occasions. Plus now that they have pot pies and cheesecake, y’all might as well let me move in! I have never had a bad meal from here, they knock it out of the park every time!

Travellers House Coffee & Tea is a charming spot located in the heart of Springfield, offering a cozy ambiance and ample natural light for a delightful high tea experience. Situated near Missouri State University, it's a popular choice for students and locals alike to socialize over delicious coffee and tea. The excellent service and welcoming atmosphere set the stage for an enjoyable visit.
I join a Bible Study every Tues morning here, the coffee is excellent and I am often forced to eat breakfast because when I get coffee my eyes are drawn to the epicurean delicious well prepared dishes sitting there warm and tempting my empty stomach to at least join the celebration of taste and satisfaction. Ode the joy, that blesses my soul, by a cheerful staff that seems to always suggest just the right thing. The coffee is always hot and brewed to perfection. I share this with moderation because if I brag to much the place may become overcrowded and they have to hire additional staff and such. Can I just say I love this place! I have started to show up on more days just because... love you, Greg and Sherrie.

Was in Springfield for two weeks for a summer class across the street at MSU and was recommended to grab coffee here by a professor. We ended up going for lunch 3 or 4 days in a row! Excellent coffee and smoothies, a great chicken salad sandwich, and super friendly and helpful staff! Already looking forward to next summer when I return!

Visiting Springfield for a couple of days and found myself at traveller's house. First their coffee is good. I usually just get plain lattes with extra shots. Taste of the coffee is phenomenal, amd not burn coffee taste. Then I decided to try their quiche. My mind was blown, crustless quiche wow. Tastes home made so I decided to stop a second time next day. Coffee even better than first day and tries a different quiche on the second day. Both days just awesome.

Love this place, fast friendly service. They always expect a bunch of us on a Saturday and are accommodating. Good food and variety of drinks.

This was a perfect spot to grab an snack and get some work done. The atmosphere was clean and spacious. The staff was very kind and friendly. The food and beverages were delicious. I will definitely be back. My only issue was the fact that they closed an hour earlier so we had to cut or whir time short but they were open later than most other cafes!!

Great location, with a variety of seating, tons of natural lighting, delicious soul warming tea's and mind stimulating espresso drinks, belly filling quiches/sandwiches located in middle of a busy small city.. Traveller's house set my standard for what a delicious cortado should taste like, it's well balanced. Their seasonal drinks capture the essence of each season so well. In the photo it is their hazelnut cinnamon cream black tea, you won't mind that it's steaming hot because it smells heavenly.

Great opportunity to try another coffee shop across the street from Missouri State University. Instead of the Potter's House because I heard tell at the last minute it was closed! Great view of National Avenue and Missouri State University from indoors, and the atmosphere is beautiful and even contemporary for the late 2010s (this coffee shop is part of Boomer Town Studios, which opened in 2018). They also brew really good coffee! As much, when I drink coffee here, I have a personal tradition of listening to certain contemporary music from the late 2010s, especially dream pop, which makes the perfect match with the atmosphere! #travellershousecoffee #travellershouse #boomertownstudios #boomertown #missouristateuniversity

Askinosie Chocolate, a renowned bean-to-bar chocolatier based in Springfield, Missouri, offers a wide range of classic chocolate bars and confections. Their selection includes unique flavors like avocado-rosemary dark chocolate, coconut milk chocolate, and gingerbread dark chocolate. In addition to bars, they also offer treats such as peppermint bark and chocolate-covered malt balls.
An absolute treasure tucked into an evolving neighborhood in North Springfield. It’s filled with the most welcoming and lovely smiles and sweets. It’s story adds purpose and intention to the all-around delightful experience of this chocolate. Gentrification at its finest! Bravo!

Such good chocolates!! Was able to find storefront parking easily. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I tried three different chocolates and they were all wonderful. I bought the dark chocolate raspberry and milk chocolate and they are well worth the money. These make great snacks and gifts. It also seems like the store pays their suppliers and farmers well which is a huge plus. I will say there isn’t much of a storefront as it is mainly two tables within a few feet from the door with I think around 10 chocolate bars on display. I think most of the building is the factory? It would be a cooler experience if there were more product options and maybe displays explaining the mission and products?
Youjin N — Google review
The store experience was really underwhelming. My hubby bought me one of their delicious chocolate bars at an organic store in Branson last Valentine's Day. After I noticed their shop was in Springfield, I've had the location saved just in case we're in the area. Well, we stopped by on our anniversary to discover a very small display of bars. There's probably more at our grocery store. I had read they offered samples, nope, not on this day at least. Not really any greeting, customer service, or display area to watch chocolate being made or anything. The lady just stared at us. It was so awkward we left after a couple of minutes. This place has so much potential. Very disappointing. 😞
Native C — Google review
My niece and I stopped by to check out the shop since she had never been before. The person at the front desk was incredibly nice and was very kind when she wanted to try samples. We bought a couple of bars, but still had shopping to do so we went to drop them off in the car. Another worker came out of the store as we were walking away and offered us an ice pack to keep them from melting in the car. That was such a thoughtful thing to do, and will absolutely keep me coming back here. Plus—the chocolate is amazing!
Megan T — Google review
Askinosie is the absolute best chocolate we have ever had, and we've eaten a lot of high quality chocolate! Our favorites are the 88% super dark blend and the 77% Davao, Philippines bar. The flavor and texture is smoother than any other chocolate we have had. Most bars with this high of cocoa are not smooth and silky. The flavor is so amazing you only need to eat 1 or 2 squares. We also love the 72% Mababu, Tanzania and 70% Ecuador bars. Every one is so unique and every bar we have tried we have thorougly enjoyed. After trying one bar while on a trip, we loved it so much we setup a mail-order subscription through their website. We order a box of bars to be shipped every 2-3 months - it's really easy to setup and adjust the frequency. Every aspect of this company is outstanding - their customer service is 10 stars, their thoughtful and careful packaging (including an ice pack & lots of insulation for the summer), their chocolate packaging, and of course their chocolate.

Chocolate lover? This is your place. These chocolate bars are absolutely decadent and delicious. Free samples so you can choose the right chocolate for yourself. Great service, very friendly and helpful. Didn’t take a tour but heard that one is available if you plan ahead.

A friend brought me two bars... OMG! I am officially giving up on all other chocolate. The smoothness, the flavor the mouth feels, the taste were beyond amazing. Can't wait to make a run to Springfield!
Diana W — Google review
Loves the place and the story behind it. Happen to pick up a small bar at the Laura Ingalls museum and loved it so decided to stop in. You can try samples of all the chocolate which is wonderful. Definitely some unique pairing and the gentleman helping us was so kind and appreciate that he told us which ones were his favorites!
